Kinkshaming in r/okbuddybaldur?

But of a rant under the cut.

Shared my Yurgir piece over on reddit because r/okbuddybaldur is a pretty cool place to share your silly arts and I just wanted to gush about the big demon man with the nice voice.

Instead… cue the Nessa jokes. And it wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t seem like some of the jokes were coming off as “judgy.”

Look guys… I get it. I get the insinuation. He drugged the displacer beast. The dialogue is sus. Giggle giggle haha. Maybe he screwed the beast. Maybe he didn’t.

Let me make this very clear: there are honestly few characters in this game who haven’t done something pretty fucked up (for some of these characters, too, it isn’t a matter of guesswork— they explicitly did these things). Let me point out just a couple of popular ones:

- Raphael: Everything with Hope. I personally read a lot of SA connotations into that relationship.

- Astarion: Luring/kidnapping children for his master. I don’t care how he framed it, it is fucked.

- Dark Urge (specially default Dragonborn): Canonically had eaten people and may have engaged in necrophilia (still playing my first DU character so not sure, but I see it being a continuous debate topic). Regardless, they definitely have necrophiliac tendencies/thoughts that are very clearly stated

Now, I love all three of the characters mentioned above. But if we are gonna start pointing fingers and mocking people for the characters they like, insinuating there is some moral failing behind them for liking that character, you best be ready to back up your fave.

Still working on the Orson house buuuuut figured I'd share something I didn't really explain yet. Sooo, remember this conversation? Welp, off-screen, Stormy totally did it. She got a hysterectomy, something vagina-havers who wanna unsubscribe from vagina-having really struggle to do if it's for fertility reasons. Here's a cisgender-centered but still very informative article about it on Teen Vogue. It's honestly incredibly fucked up to me that anyone, regardless of gender identity or reason, is often denied this type of procedure because what if it makes some peepee sad? Literally though. I once dated a cis man who was able to get a vasectomy at the age of 23 but several friends of mine, trans and cis, have had to fight for this fairly basic right denied because of often some hypothetical cisgender man's fee-fees about it. Because what if your future husband wants babies, or more babies if you already have any? :( Ridiculous. The real world is such trash about this, at least in the USA (and let's be fair, probably a butt-ton of other places too). Fortunately, the Sims don't reside in the real world, so I decided she was able to find a nice gynecologic surgeon to do it for her once Lou was weaned off breastfeeding. The stitches aren't quite out yet in these pictures, but eventually you'll maybe get to see this scar heal and pale overtime.

This right here is why Stormy is probably one of my most favorite heirs I've ever played. She's decisive, with strong convictions, she voices what she does and does not want, and hopefully this trait gets passed down the bloodline <3
