I'm slowly phasing out of Nerf Now, having alread excised it from my RSS feed reader (I can only imagine I'm the last known user of such a tool) and only occasionally checking the page manually for updates in case something especially outrageous elicits any response from me, otherwise may I end up forgetting to ever check it again some day.

But yes, this happened, and it might have been a statement of any kind if it didn't closely follow a comic in which he makes a crappy short comic about a game he apparently does not like with the implication of "what can I do? not make a comic about it?"

Wouldn’t it be funny if Billy could only give powers to one person at a time, so the Vasquez kids take turns being Captain Marvel Junior (as they still look like kids) and they make everyone thinks it’s one shape shifting child.

At first it’s just Mary and Freddy (mostly Freddy cause he’s really into being a superhero) so everyone thinks Captain Marvel Junior is a shape shifting gender fluid kid and Marvel is a supportive dad.

It’s sparks a lot of debate of cultural appropriation for shapeshifters in general, with a lot of people invoking Martian Manhunter, fae and other shapeshifters. So naturally Pedro steps up

Naturally this takes a lot of coordination, and a lot of people test them by giving info to one kid, and different info to the other. Solomon sees right through them cause the divine group chat is connected to Billy and the chosen Junior. Things were starting to chill for a bit. Then Darla joined in.

Darla, visibly younger than the other forms: Hi :D

Reporter: why do you keep getting younger and younger???

Darla: :3

At this point the reporter is so done. Are you a child with a lightning emblem on you? You are Captain Marvel Junior. And it seems to work most of the time.

Billy: *gets deaged as Cap*

Reporter: oh junior! New form? This one looks closer to Cap!

Billy: I’m not Junior???

Reporter: *bluescreens*

In a Justice League Meeting

Flash: So is Junior like a mantle? If so why is it only one kid at a time?

Hal: yeah, what do the others do when you take one at a time?

Billy, an absolute troll at heart: what do you mean, it’s the one kid?

Superman: what???

Billy: yeah so Junior hasn’t settled into which form they like the best and switch it up. I think they like it better that way.

Martian Manhunter, troll n2: *nods along* finding ones main form is an important part of self discovery. On Mars, many like to alternate between forms as they could not be tied down to one.

JL: ah

Palworld is a creatively bankrupt game which is predicated on two points of appeal:

You like Pokémon, but not really;

You enjoy edgy for the sake of edge

Essentially, it's Pokémon for teens who feel like they have grown out of Pokémon. Which makes it understandably hard to have anything to say about the game, something that I have noticed as almost none of the gaming webcomics I follow or remember about have even mentioned it (exceptions have been Nerf NOW -- which I follow -- and Penny Arcade -- which I do not)

And even those that care seem to not have anything to say besides its obvious adjacency to Pokémon, which to me is a moot manufactured controversy that holds no water; nevermind The Pokémon Company issuing that communication about "looking into it", as if it wasn't obvious, but I don't really care if anyone makes money off Pokémon, the billion dollar multimedia franchise.

Seems like most of the pro-Palworld discourse only exists as means of bein anti-Pokemon, which is sad given that we live in a world where Monster Rancher and Dragon Quest Monsters exist.

If Garrus ever learns how to use a Nerf gun, Shepard is gonna have to spend an entire evening writing up a new rule for the Normandy on why Nerf guns will no longer be permitted on the ship.

The fine print will be a reminder that the crew of the Normandy are living beings, and not target practice, even if the three burst blast to Vega's head across the cargo bay was a sick ass shot. Word for word.

Fine print P.S.S: Please disregard all rumors of your Captain being present during an "all out Nerf Gun battle" in the Cargo Bay after a Nerf pellet hit me. I was not present in the battle and would appreciate such rumors of unprofessionalism being spread. I would never fire off 20 loads of Nerf rounds from a Nerf gattling gun into Garrus' side because he refused to stop shooting me in the butt with his stupid Nerf Gun although I asked him several times to stop or I'd let Javik ship him out of an airlock. It's important to keep the ship as gossip free as possible. Thank you for your cooperation and once again, this rule is not meant to single any non turians out.
