i keep having embarrassingly deeper-than-they-should feelings about caboose that im not sure what to do about, with how i feel like i relate in a pretty genuine and sweet way to him in an autistic level and i do feel like reading him that way makes real sense but im just incapable of feeling very good about it when its very very clear caboose's neurodivergent esque behavior is applied exclusively to make the butt of the joke off how stupid he is. i care about him a lot as a character but i mostly just wanna rip him off r-slur-loving rooster teeth's hands and handle him with a minimum level of respect

Oh my. Well. I didn't understand it at the time, but Jodie Foster in Candleshoe was a revelation. (I was 10 or 11 at the time.) I watched everything she was in from that day forward. And then there's Princess Leia. She will always be my princess and my general.

But the ones I think coincide with the penny drop are Ally Sheedy in The Breakfast Club, and Mary Stuart Masterson from Some Kind of Wonderful. I also had a huge crush on Andie McDowell. If he were still alive, I'd send John Hughes a thank you card.

This is me being fully annoying and awful, but I hate it when I say something in a friendly conversation with someone and I can just feel how that one fact about me makes me a manic pixie dream girl-type for them. I see it in their eyes. I feel it in the changing energy in how they approach me. It's like they're surprised that I am more complex than they first thought. It usually happens with straight men. I will tell them something quirky from my life as a weird person, and they will off-handledly say smething along the lines of. "Oh, I didn't expect you to be into that" or something. I know I look boring and basic, but PLEASE. Have you not learned to not judge by the cover???? It also happens in queer/fandom spaces, but then its not som much that it sparks romantic/sexual intrest, just that they realise that I'm "like them" and they relax more around me, which is understandable and NOT a problem. It's just.... this particular type of straight man manic pixie dream girls me without my consent. And I feel to old for this shit.
