Mistress of Darkness (Eddie Munson x. Reader) Smut
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Word count: 1k
Summary: you dress up as your dnd character to surprise eddie and he finds it very attractive
Warnings: oral (fem! receiving), fem!dom, uhhh fake blood?, slight choking, unprotected sex (p in v), slight mommy kink, m!sub.
A/n: i wrote this before eddie is a little nerd and would eat up fantasy role playing sex and i feel like it’s not talked about enough on here. also i’m not into fantasy or dnd so it might not be accurate sorry
Tumblr media
Eddie had a rough couple of days at work, taking extra shifts at the mechanic since the two of you were trying to move into an apartment, so you decided to plan a little surprise for him.
“Babe, are you here? Wayne said you before he left?” You hear Eddie come home an
“Yea, in your room!” you call out as you adjust your outfit a final time. You hear him walk towards his room, excited for his reaction. When Eddie walks in, he sees you in a long black dress with a red corset that pushes up your boobs, you did your makeup with a black and red eyeshadow and a long black wing, and you have costume blood dried around your mouth, and on your hands. It doesn't take him long to see you dressed up as your rare DnD character.
You didn't know how to play and were confused hence why it was rare for your character to show up, but when she did, she was the villain, she was a powerful witch who was killed for her crimes but came back from the dead, and though her powers weren't the same, she was just as terrifying. She was originally gonna have the chance to eat different party members if they failed a checkpoint or chose the wrong move. Still, you said it was too dark for Ercia and the other kids, so Eddie dialed it back, just making you violent and not so blood-hungry.
Eddie doesn't know what to say, amazed that you went into so much detail even though you didn't understand the game, he felt like his character had come to life, and he can't deny how attractive it was seeing you dressed like this. He walks towards you to touch you, but you smack his hands away.
“Did I say you can touch me?” you ask, raising your eyebrows, trying to sound as cold and menacingly. Eddie's eyes widened at how you were in character; he couldn't help running him down your waist and staring at your boobs in the corset. “This is the hottest thing I’ve ever seen.” you laugh at him, a little breaking character, but you quickly snapback.
You grab his hands, forcing them off you. “Wow, you don't listen, do you?” you step close to him even though he is taller. Your demeanor and how you carried yourself intimidated him but also turned him on. You slowly push his chest, making him walk back to his bed and push him down on it. “I might have to show you who you are in charge of here, hmm?” you take his hands, placing them above the bed as you start taking his shirt off.
“Woah, wait do you want me to go shower, sweetheart? I’m sure I smell like exhaust fumes and-” “SILENCE!” you raise your voice as you continue taking his shirt off; you lean down, whispering into his ear. “You speak when spoken to?” you sat up, straddling his waist, and continued taking his shirt off. “Or there will be consequences. You know I have a reputation for drinking men's blood when they don't listen.” You pause, leaning in closer to him. “Or when I'm bored, either one.” You touch the fake blood on your mouth, smirking.
Eddie stares at you. His brown eyes are wide at how turned on he is. You bunch up your dress, showing your fishnets underneath, and he can't help but run his hands along your thighs. “Fuck, sweetheart, you're killing me here.”
You shake your head, lightly wrapping your hands around the sides of his neck and squeezing it just a little, he feels the blood rush to his hard cock, and he closes his eyes, moaning slightly.
You remove your hands from his neck and grab his hands off your thighs, pinning them above his head, “Mhm, you're a naughty boy, huh, Might have to punish you so you can listen, hmm?”
Eddies face flushes red at your dominance since it's usually his role. “F-fuck me, baby; please touch me.” you shake your head, trying hard not to break character.
“I'm not your baby, and I'll touch you when I think it's time.” You get off his lap, making him whine. You go over to his wall, grabbing his handcuffs. You swing them around your finger, looking hungrily at him, trying your best to remain the intimidating queen of the dead.
“Strip,” you demand, holding in a chuckle watching as Eddie rushes to remove all his clothes. He lays back on the bed as you handcuff his hands above his head. You run your long red and black press-on nails down his chest, making him shudder until you reach his throbbing cock. “Shit honey, you really went all out on your nails, too” You smile at how cute he is, forgetting that you're trying your best to remain scary and sensual. You compose yourself as you run a nail down his sensitive cock.
“Fuckk me, oh my god, you gonna make me cum right now” You shake your head, grabbing his full balls in your hands, squeezing them lightly, making him curse under his breath.  “jeeessuuss christ!”
“You’ll cum when I let you.” you give his cock a few strokes .“If I let you.” he squeezes his eyes shut, frustrated at your words.
“No, no, I’ll be good. I'll be a good boy. Please let me cum.” he begs as you lean down, slowly licking the tip of his dick, teasing him, and rubbing his balls in your hands. You feel yourself getting more aroused as his moans fill the room.
“Please, please let me fuck you, baby. You're so hot dressed like this.” He calls out.
You fake pout, mocking sympathy. You lean in, grabbing his face. “You'll have to prove you're worthy of doing such a thing, or you’ll end up like the others.” you threaten, staying in character.
You pull your underwear down, taking it off but keeping your dress on. Eddie watches you pull a small red knit from your bra and rip a hole in your tights, exposing your center. He lets out a small moan at your actions. You climb on his lap again, and Eddie sees where you’re getting at.
“Fuuckk, I’ll prove it- prove it to you I’m worthy, please.” you continue climbing to your place, your soaking cunt over his face, sitting on it. He eagerly puts his lips on your clit, sucking it. You grab his hair tugging on it as pleasure takes over. You start slipping out of character as his tongue flicks across your dripping pussy.
“Fuck Eddie right there!” You moan and start to grind against his tongue as he eats you out like he was starving, his tongue dipping into your cunt fucking you with it.
You feel yourself getting closer, your orgasm approaching. “Im close, so close, EDDIE FUCK!” you cum over his face moaning his name loudly.
You breathe deeply, coming down from your high as you get off Eddie's lips. He smiles at you, confident knowing that’s was one of his best, his face wet with your juices.
You get the handcuff off him, and he pulls you on top of him, kissing you passionately. When he pulls away, his hands can’t stop touching your body, the queen of the dead persona forgotten for a moment.
“Fuck sweetheart, you look so hot like that. I swear, baby, you need to let me fuck you” You're about to nod until you remember your character.
“Well, since you have proven you’re self, you’re worthy of fucking me.” he laughs as you fall back into character.
He nods “fuck thank you, Miss. I’ll be good. I'm a good boy.”
You smile as you hike up dressed and slowly sink down onto his hard cock. You moan as he fills your sensitive pussy. He instantly grabs your hips so you don’t move.
“Ahh….Wait-wait-fuck, you’re so tight; hold on, I almost came just now,” he says in a breathy moan trying to compose himself as best he can.
You smile but slowly move around his cock, making him groan.
“That's cute. You think you’re in charge” You take his hands off your hips and start moving his hips faster, starting to move your hips up and down, his moans getting louder.
“Ah! Please, please let me cum. I’m so close, please.” you continue moving his hips as you feel his hip thrusting into you, getting faster. You move your fingers, putting them into his mouth as he sucks on them. He moans more, and you can tell he's getting close.
“You close?” he nods, his big eyes looking at you.
“So fucking close, sweetheart, please, please, can I cum?” you move your hip feeling your second orgasm close, and you remain in character, feeling the dominant side of you grow more as you continue riding him. You grab his chin, your long nails lightly scratching him, making him look at you.
You shake your head. “You can beg better than that. I’m not sure you've been good enough to cum yet. You move your hips faster up and down his shaft and wrap your hands around his neck, lightly choking the sides of his neck once again.
“Show me how much of a good boy you are.” he thrust one more time, as his hips still not moving, you feel his cum shoot inside you.
“Mommy-mommy! AHH FUCK!, I’m cumming” he moans as his orgasm hits. You raise your eyebrows, hearing him call you mommy, instantly making you wetter as you watch him ride out his orgasm.
“Holy shit Im-Im sorry, so sorry, you're just so hot,” he explains as you feel his cum still filling you.
You nod “It's okay, it's. Okay, you did so good. I got a little carried away.” you laugh. You move the curls sticking to his forehead from sweat before going to lift off of him, but he holds your hips down.
“Wait, I'm still-aaahhh- okay shit, sorry” You look at him, slightly surprised that he is still cumming. You slowly get off his hips feeling his cum drip down your thigh as you sit next to him, loosening your corset and taking off your costume.
You look back at Eddie as he lays on his back, his stomach covered with his cum as he breathes deeply. “I think you really did kill me shit, sweetheart I don't think I've cum that hard in a while.” You grab one of his old shirts, putting it on, and lightly stroke his face and hair.
“That was my first time being dominant; how was it?” he raised his eyebrows at the question.
“How was it? You gotta make a new character if you plan on playing with us because I won't be able to even hear your character's name with cumming in my jeans, holy shit, that was amazing.” He breathes heavily, still recovering from his orgasm.
You smile, laughing “Well, maybe she’ll be our own private character, hmm?”
You grab the tissues off his side table by his bed, wiping the cum off of him and yourself before grabbing a pair of shorts you left.
You lay next to him as he wraps his arms around your waist.
“So, um..have you ever thought about pegging?” Eddie asks shyly, blushing a bit.

ive been a halfhearted dnd defender for a minute, bc i was really involved in indie ttrpg twitter for a while and I Am Not Anymore because frankly. it just got too hostile and crab bucket-y. a lot of people acting like critical role or dimension 20 were opposing them by playing a game that had widespread brand recognition (and also getting mad whenever critrole played something OTHER than dnd. i haven't forgotten how hostile everyone i knew in that scene was when critrole played monster hearts. like what do you want??) or like people who play dnd are popular jocks and people who play indie games are bullied nerds. when actually we're all nerds. nobody is cool here.
and i would especially get frustrated when people would recommend games to play instead of dnd that are not at all a comparable experience, or didnt have the same things people liked in dnd. sure, you could play Masks if you want to play a superhero game instead of just reskinning DnD, but Masks is about teens, and the fact that you're playing as teens is core to the mechanics, so it's not a good suggestion for someone who wants to play as adult superheroes. sure you can suggest someone play Blades in the Dark if they want to play a heist team, but BitD is incredibly punishing! every time ive played it, it felt almost impossible to get a full success at anything. that can be fun, if that's the kind of game you want, but if i want to play a game where i feel cool and like im good at things, then BitD is not a good replacement! I cant tell you how many times I've seen people say that you don't need to just reskin dnd when there are games that are more specifically tailored to the experience you want, and then in the same breath act like the games they're suggesting ARENT specific actually and can be used to craft any kind of experience you want. Is the genre baked into the mechanics, or isnt it? because it cant be both!
and thats not even getting into when people would suggest replacements that aren't even close. a lot of "dnd sucks nobody should ever play dnd. instead of dnd, why don't you play MY game, where youre a couple thats getting married in 2 months and you're still planning your wedding?" like... why would i play that instead of dnd, if i want to play dnd? those have nothing in common, beyond the fact that theyre both tabletop games. it's like saying "Instead of watching Star Wars, you should watch Get Out!" sure, they're both MOVIES, and Get Out is GOOD, but i think to suggest that someone who wants to watch Star Wars would have an equal if not better experience watching Get Out instead devalues both. They're not interchangeable because they're trying to do entirely different things
So I would get incredibly frustrated when people acted like people who were choosing to play DnD were just making a mistake, and that they couldn't possibly be getting anything out of playing that game specifically
ALL THAT BEING SAID wizards of the coast sucks ass and they can clean my balls. they should get put in the stocks and i should get to pelt them with tomatoes. i like playing in the sword and sorcery fantasy setting, and dnd was always my go-to game for that because Dungeon World is the worst game I've ever played (i can think of one or two other games in the same sort of setting, but i haven't tried them or met anyone willing to run them) but ah well. WotC can eat shit for this copyright bullshit

hello! feel free to ignore me if this is slightly outside the boundaries of this account, but i'm a tabletop roleplaying game (ttrpg) designer looking for opinions on mechanics for disability in games.
my game specifically covers a lot of themes that, while not about disability, would make me feel remiss to not include some explicit mention of how physically/mentally disabled characters fit into the greater picture of the game. it has a specific focus on telling stories of diverse characters, for one, and on fighting the unfair capitalist systems that harm these marginalized groups.
my issue lies in how, exactly, to both treat this topic respectfully and make the characters not feel out of place or unbalanced. i've considered several options, and was curious to hear from a physically disabled perspective how to proceed (i am mentally ill & neurodivergent, but to my knowledge not physically disabled).
option one: mention that disabled characters of all kinds are encouraged, and talk about roleplaying them or provide resources for how to handle them respectfully, but don't apply any specific rules with hard mechanics or numbers to them. this option is least likely to be inadvertently misconstrued or written poorly on my part, but may make disability feel like a "flavour" side note.
option two: provide examples for some common disabilities on the mechanical effects (such as a low vision character rolling less dice on rolls to notice visual details) without any "counteracting" mechanics. this one gives mechanical weight to disability, so it feels less like an afterthought, but may discourage people from playing disabled characters as they would be more likely to fail than other characters.
option three: the above, but with mechanical incentives for roleplaying in a way that acknowledges the character's disability. a "benefit", but less "giving a blind character echolocation" and more "gain XP for showing your characters disability and any aids they use" (similar mechanics exist for following your character's goals/personality traits). this would make disabled characters be more on par mechanically with other characters, but i fear it may come across as... viewing disabled characters as not worth it without some sort of benefit, i suppose?
apologies for the long rambling message, but i'd love to hear which of these options (or another suggestion) you'd be happiest to see in a game written by someone who isn't physically disabled! this is far from the focus of my game, but it's still an important part of the greater theme that i'd love to be able to get right. thanks! (similarly, if there are any groups not covered in the "underrepresented but common disabilities" post from your FAQ that you'd want to see in a game, i'd also be happy to hear those!)
Hello!
First things first, thank you so much for thinking about this! This isn't something that most TTRGs consider and, as a massive nerd who plays DND, Pathfinder, and other tabletop games, this has always been a big pet peeve of mine since making a disabled character is always unnecessarily hard to do with the game mechanics and rarely works out well.
Most of the time, I have to talk to my GM about how to make it work in their game and, unfortunately, I'm often told they won't allow it because it's "too much trouble".
This is all just to say, I really love the idea here and the fact that you're actually thinking about these things and wanting to do well by them is great!
Now, taking a look at the options:
Option One
One of the unfortunate things that I see a lot is people that are too scared to get something wrong with representation (Or social justice on a broader scale) that they don't try to do it at all. With this current era of cancel culture and people's reactions to what they deem 'offensive', it's understandable to be a bit apprehensive but if you're approaching the subject from a place of respect and you're receptive to learning and improving, most people will appreciate the effort.
While this option does sidestep the main issue you've identified, I do think it sidesteps the attempt at making disability part of your game as well. You can encourage people to make disabled characters all you want but without any real content for them in the game, it won't do much.
If you do go with this option, I'd strongly suggest including some information on the culture of your world and how it relates to disability, both to provide more substance to the content and to give players a bit to go off of when making a disabled character.
Option Two
I like this option much more than the first one, though I do agree that it may discourage people from choosing to play a disabled character.
Within the game mechanics, I think it makes a lot of sense to have these kinds of effects but I would encourage you to include more variety with it. Disability isn't 'one size fits all' and two disabled people can have different needs, strengths, and experiences -- even if they have the exact same disability. Instead, I'd suggest going for a slightly different model that includes more choices.
For example, a character with low vision may:
- Roll lower on perception checks involving vision
or
- Have disadvantage with ranged weapons/attacks
or
- Have lower rolls/less success in dim lighting
Do you see where I'm going with this?
Having more options for how the character's disability affects them allows players to make a choice for how they want to play the character while also encouraging them to think more about how their character's disability might affect them and impact their life.
The examples given are all reflections of how blindness can affect somebody. Blind spots or blurry vision can make it more difficult to notice certain visual changes, severe nearsightedness can make it difficult to aim/focus on things that are far away, night blindness can make it difficult to see in the dark or in dim lighting, etc. That being said, there are dozens of other ways to go about this (Though I'd advise sticking to five options per disability at most to avoid overwhelming people).
Option Three
Personally, I like this one and the second option the most. Although I understand where your concerns are coming from, it feels less like it's implying that disabled characters have to be 'worth it' and more like it's just balancing it out.
Like with the second option, I'd suggest going for more of a choice model here where the player can pick what 'benefit' (For lack of better word) that their character has -- or even to choose no benefit at all.
Many physically disabled people develop our own skills or tools to compensate for where we struggle, whether this is an intentional decision or just something that happens.
For example, my boyfriend is paralyzed from the waist down and uses a wheelchair full time. As a result, he has kick-ass upper body strength from it.
Similarly, many deaf and hard of hearing people are more observant when it comes to visual cues and many blind people are more sensitive to other senses (Though, of course, the whole 'super senses' thing is a myth).
While this isn't true of all disabilities or all disabled people in general, it is something worth considering.
That being said, if you do decide to implement this option, make sure that the benefit makes sense for the disability or is related in some way and isn't just something random being tacked on -- that would make it seem more like a 'disabled characters need to be worthwhile' thing.
As a few extra notes:
If you go with the second or third option, I'd suggest separating the different stat effects into different types of disabilities. You don't need to go too into specifics with it but something like 'low vision/blindness/vision loss', 'deafness/hearing loss', 'limited mobility', and 'chronic illness' would work. While disabilities are more nuanced than this in real life, setting it up this way would keep it pretty simple and allow players to tweak the mechanics slightly for their own characters.
If you go with the first option, I'd probably avoid discussing how to roleplay disabled characters. Because roleplay and character development is much more open than stats and game mechanics are, showing one or two 'proper' ways to play a disabled character is more likely to reinforce stereotypes, dismiss certain experiences that disabled people have, or just come across as more of a 'lecture' than anything. The same goes for including information on what to avoid. I'd stick to providing information about your world and how disabilities are seen in them instead of giving instructions here.
I'd suggest including ways for players to bypass the mechanics of disability if they'd like to, even if their character is disabled. That would allow for a bit more freedom with how they portray their character and would also ensure that they aren't being 'penalized' (For lack of a better term) with their stats for playing a disabled character. As a bit of an example of what I mean: A character in DND could have been a criminal growing up without necessarily taking the Criminal/Spy background.
In general, I think as long as you're approaching this respectfully (Which you are!) and reaching out to physically disabled people for their input (Which you are!), you don't have to worry too much about misrepresenting it.
Cheers,
~ Mod Icarus

Pwdre Ser (Eddie Munson)
Tumblr media
Summary: It's Saturday Night. Eddie has no plans and the trailer all to himself. Of course he's gonna get himself into a sticky situation...
Word Count: 1.6k
Warnings/Themes: Eddie implied to be dating/in a relationship with an unspecified partner, Smut, Male Masturbation, Monsterfucking...kind of?, Fantasies, DnD References
Note: Alright, so I've been playing the Stranger Things Puzzle Tales game and relaying all of my silly little fangirl thoughts about the Hellfire Club levels to @fracturedarkness because why wouldn't I? And the way some of these monsters in-campaign are named definitely confirm Eddie is a monsterfucker.
Thanks to @courtingchaos for the middle-of-the-night beta read.
You can find my masterlist here.
Please do not interact if you are not 18+.
Enjoy!
---
Eddie couldn't help himself.
Well, ok. Rewind for a second.
Eddie was rarely able to help himself when the mood and timing were just right and his cock was just hard enough.
But tonight was a perfect storm.
His date canceled on him, Wayne was out of the house, he'd just read an issue of Batman featuring the true love of his life--one Dr. Pamela Isley--and he got inspired for an upcoming Hellfire Campaign.
"A haunted forest," he'd contemplated as he flipped through his Dungeon Master's Guide and wrote notes down. "No, an infected one." The Guide was carefully set on the table as he flipped through other books that he'd accumulated from library rummage sales and the second hand bookstore he favored in Indy.
He always liked to add some personal elements to the adventures and not go strictly by-the-book.
So from his pencil, an army of new creatures were born.
An old tree that housed a mimic-like creature.
A burrowing worm with hundreds of teeth that he affectionately nicknamed "Mouthy."
A moldy mushroom creature that released hypnotic spores.
And the crowning jewel...the boss...part human...part something else...with vines and a sharp-toothed grin and...
He scratched out a rough shape of the creature in the margins of his notebook and then squinted.
Now Eddie wasn't the best artist, but he could get by. Even to the untrained eye, his boss monster looked a little too much like Poison Ivy than he was comfortable with.
Those nerds would sniff him out immediately.
"Ok," his head tilted to the side, tongue sliding along the seam of his lips as he furiously erased parts of the figure. "Maybe...less boobs."
But the boobs were the best part.
"Boobs that...open up and turn into mouths?" He contemplated and then nodded and scribbled. "Venus flytrap boobs...yeah yeah yeah."
He snorted thinking of this boss seducing one of the players only for them to get their hands bitten off when they'd try to cop a feel. Some Botanical Femme Fatale.
"It'll serve them right," he snorted.
Even though he was sure, if he was in their position, he'd do the same.
"Alright, what else?"
And that was where he worked himself into a predicament.
Time was spent perfecting the Boss' body with all sorts of tentacles and teeth and dips and curves--
Not to mention all the ways that a player might be lured into the temptation of said Boss.
--and before long Eddie was well and truly fucked.
Well, more accurately, he wasn't fucked.
Nor would he be.
Because here he was, 9pm on a Saturday, dateless, with a drawing of a gorgeous, giant, monster woman...and a stiffy that he just couldn't ignore anymore.
"Damn," he sighed and leaned back, eyes clenching shut as he realized just how hard he was and just how much it ached just to sit there.
It was the best case scenario though: he had the trailer to himself, didn’t need to keep quiet or crank one out in the shower. He could take his time and savor the act.
Savor the fruits of his rogue imagination.
And he was at a bit of a standstill thinking about the mechanisms of his boss…what better way to figure out the ins and outs and what made it tick?
Before long he found himself in bed, propped up by pillows, jeans and boxers around his knees—he hadn’t been patient enough to fully undress—as he licked his Ticonderoga-and-big-pink-eraser-tainted palm in the absence of any other lubricant.
“Sometimes,” he hissed and let his eyes fall shut as he finally took his cock in his hand and squeezed. Delicious. “You just gotta go for old faithful.”
He treated himself to a few tentative strokes as he imagined himself in his foe’s forest.
His boots sloughed through the muck, clothes smattered with gore and remnants of spores and tar-like blood. He spotted her in the distance…draped in sheer fabrics that refracted the light like dew-covered cobwebs that stretched across the trees.
“Oh, that’s good,” he nodded and squeezed his shaft. If he got his players to focus on her clothes, her body…they wouldn’t be aware of her intentions.
He trudged across a vine-covered ground, the same vines that kept her tethered helpless to the trees. He called forth to assure that her rescue was imminent, but the more he closed the distance, the harder it got to navigate. Until he came to a halt right in front of her…
“Uh-huh.”
He pumped his fist.
…Against his will…
“Yeah.”
And again.
…As the vines slithered around his ankles and up his legs, locking him in place.
While the hand around his shaft twisted and pumped--fingertips dancing lightly as he circled the head and then back down--he traced pathways up his thigh with the other. He played with variations in pressure, much like the vines would, alive and throbbing.
He considered, in a moment of clarity, if his players would be disturbed by the trap they were lured into.
Perhaps they’d find some concern if the vines reached their waists—he traced up the indent of his hipbone and along his happy trail—or if they would only try to slash their swords through the intruding organisms once they were at their throats—he gripped his own throat tightly for a second.
But his neediness took over once again and his free hand found its way back downward and he cupped his balls instead. Less of an unsettling tightness and more of a pleasurable one.
He made to free the damsel, hilt of his sword gripped masterfully—
He snorted at the joke, amused by himself even as he was jerking off.
—in his hand, ready to slash.
He felt himself close to his release and he immediately let up, not wanting to lose this moment yet--lose the feeling, lose the fantasy.
He let go of himself, cock flopping against his stomach, and he covered his eyes as he took a breath and brought himself back down to earth.
Is this where he would have his players roll for an attack? Or a spell? Roll perception? Would the damsel talk? Stop them from attacking? Would she lure them in that way?
"No physical attacks," he decided. "Only magic to repel the vines. And then she opens her mouth to thank them and her tongue...oh, fuck, her tongue..."
He couldn't get another word out as the images started up again in his head, and he quickly resumed his ministrations.
The boss approached him, motions smooth and unsettling, but her beauty belied the danger. Her mouth opened to offer her thanks...when her tongue slithered out of her mouth unnaturally and she licked along his jaw...
His fingers danced along the path the boss licked, along his jaw, down his neck. The hand around his dick became her hand. Or maybe a second tongue...could she have multiple mouths? Her boobs were already venus flytraps.
That would be a genius move, his boss not just one being, but made up of many in some sort of unholy amalgam. A hive mind, a swarm. Once you were in its clutches, it was too late.
"Perfect," he hissed, fingers trilling back and forth over his sensitive head, spreading precum and spit.
When he was well and truly trapped, she would bite him, paralyze him, render him helpless...
Eddie bit into the part of his free hand between his thumb and pointer finger. He whined and savored the feeling of his breath cascading over his skin, as he stroked harder and harder.
...and then she would feast. Pull flesh from his bones, take his blood, take his soul. Maybe in the feast he would become a part of her, absorbed into the swarm, no longer a man but a part of this thing. Part of this system that sought to consume him all along.
His breathing grew shallow as he chased the high of an orgasm, as his strokes got wild and fast and wickedly erratic. Eddie could hear the slapping of skin and his own breathing and the rush of his blood.
What a strange thing to think about...the pain of being consumed and the pleasure of consuming. Maybe at a certain point the boss monster has its own release--a puff of toxic spores and gunk--and he would feel it too, one with his undoing, one with the forest.
At that thought the pleasure hit him, soared through him, made his legs twitch and toes curl as he kept on stroking and squeezing through his release. His teeth sunk further into the flesh of his one hand as his hot cum coated the other. And his thighs and his belly. As he writhed against the pillows and sheets.
As he writhed against the vines and the moss on the ground, whatever was left of his body, as the vestiges of his mind became a part of the beast.
"Fuck," Eddie groaned as he loosened his jaw, now sore, and stared down at himself. One hand bitten and bruised, the other covered in his spunk.
But he knew he had to act fast as his mental clarity returned to him. With a singular focus, he got up from the bed and hobbled back out to the living room. He couldn't be bothered to fix his clothes or clean himself up otherwise he was gonna lose all of the ideas that had been drummed up in his fantasy.
He picked up his pencil and scribbled next to the sketch of his boss. Note after note after note, as quickly as he could.
Careful not to get any of his cum on anything.
His cum.
He hesitated and considered it. Considered the organic, unpredictable shape it made against his skin. And he was reminded of something else, something similar. White and pearlescent and a little bit otherworldly.
He flipped through the pages of the books he'd abandoned, until he reached it.
Gelatinous substance, amoeba and slime molds...it was perfect.
He narrated aloud as he wrote it down:
"This creature eats its prey and absorbs them, then excretes a euphoric release to continue the infection in the forest. Pwdre ser. The rot of stars."

What is Essek's Wisdom score?
(aka, a totally unnecessary ramble about one drow and his dnd mechanics by me, a tumblr user who should be asleep)
Last episode, we got a rare hint about Essek’s Wisdom score, in the form of Fearne’s attempt to sneak a look at his feet while he slept. Whatever Essek’s passive perception is, it was ‘just enough’ to catch Fearne, with her Sleight of Hand check of 9. I made a joke about this giving Essek a pretty low Wisdom score, and several people pointed out that because Matt halves his characters’ passive perceptions when they’re sleeping, Essek’s Wisdom would actually be around the 18-20 mark. But this… might not necessarily be the case.
Now, I did honestly mean that post as a joke and not any actual theorising on Essek’s mechanics, but since people got me thinking, let’s crunch some numbers! (Huge thanks to the folks over on the Essek discord for helping me with the maths here! Also, disclaimer that all of this could be disproven next episode, and I am fine with that. I enjoy doing dnd maths anyway, because I am a nerd.)
So: if Matt remembered the house rule about halving the passive perception while a character sleeps (and he doesn’t always), this would give Essek a passive of 18-20. But does this mean his Wisdom is 18-20? Actually, no! For a start, if he had no other bonuses to perception (and I’ll get to that in a second), this would give Essek a bonus of +4 or +5, which would make his awake passive just 14-15, and his sleeping passive 7. Not enough to catch Fearne. But: it might well be the case that Essek simply has Perception proficiency, in which case, he wouldn’t need a Wisdom of 18+.
While Essek, being an NPC, obviously doesn’t conform to PC rules, it’s worth bearing in mind that all elf PCs get perception proficiency for free from their Keen Senses trait. Perception would therefore be a pretty reasonable proficiency for Essek to have, even if it didn’t make sense from a character perspective – which it does. He is, after all, constantly having to look over his shoulder for assassins (and even before he was, having a keen eye out for trouble would be a useful asset in his former courtly intrigues.)
So what does this mean for his passive perception? Well, he appears to be the equivalent of a level 17-20 wizard, if his use of a ninth-level spell slot is anything to go by. With the caveat that he doesn’t have to use player rules (just attach that caveat to, uh… everything I say in this post) that would give him a + 6 proficiency bonus. If this is true, then all Essek needs for a waking passive perception of 18 is actually a Wisdom modifier of just +2, i.e. a Wisdom score of 14 or 15. (A baseline of 10, plus 2 from his Wisdom, plus 6 from proficiency). This would allow his halved passive to be at least 9, and let him catch Fearne in her sneaky feat of feet-peeking. If we make his Wisdom any higher than this, I don’t think we can qualify Matt’s ‘just enough’ statement.
But wait! There are more options! Unlikely ones, but options worth bearing in mind, nonetheless. We know Matt is on board with giving his allied NPCs feats; indeed, Essek himself has the War Caster feat. So it’s entirely possible that he might also have the observant feat. This would be a very logical choice from a roleplaying perspective considering Essek’s current status as a fugitive.
Having this feat would add +5 to his passive perception. Let’s say Essek has no Wisdom bonus at all, but has this feat and is proficient in perception. In this case, his passive while awake is 21 (a baseline of 10, plus 5 from Observant, plus 6 from profiency). That's a sleeping passive of 10: just enough to catch Fearne in the act. We could actually dump his Wisdom into the negative and he'd still be able to just barely notice her.
If you shook me and asked me to tell you what I actually think Essek’s Wisdom is, I’d guess at his Wis being at that ~14 mark I pitched earlier. I think this would make sense from what we’ve seen of him – yes, he has done some completely dumbass things, but he’s shown a level of self-reflection and self-awareness, especially after his redemption arc kicked off, that I think a Wisdom of about this number is justified. I wouldn't be surprised to find it was lower or higher, though; Wisdom is a wibbly stat to define at the best of times and you can make a case for Essek being just about anywhere on the number scale.
A stat of ~14 also works for me from a character construction perspective: we already know he has an Intelligence of around 22, and a decent Charisma; back in campaign 2, the Nein regularly had to roll Insight checks of 20+ to see through him, indicating a high Deception. So I’m hesitant to pitch his Wisdom too high; this might just be my own personal preference as a DM, but I’d be unlikely to roll up an NPC ally with high numbers in all three mental stats. Give ‘em some lower scores to keep things spicy, y’know?
(As a side note, Essek’s Dexterity is a very serviceable 16, and I suspect that his Charisma is at least equal to that. Having scores of 16+ in four stats would be a bit much, imo, even if his Strength and Constitution are probably much, much lower.)
A final point: one thing we can rule out is Matt allowing Essek to use his regular, un-halved Passive while trancing, since he didn’t remember that Essek could trance until Laura reminded him (bless them both), and I’m pretty sure the Fearne incident happened before she did. Though I should say again, considering that Matt can and does forget rules from time to time… it is also true that Matt might’ve just forgotten about halving the passive score. If he did just forgor, this entire ramble is meaningless but oh well.
Tl;dr: we don’t know, but a reasonable guess would be to say that his Wisdom is about 14. I guess I’ll just sit here and hope that Matt may eventually release his statblock (and an explanation of how he made his dad so mad he died. Hi, Matt Mercer, not to beg but please –)

Maybe it's just the jock in me, but I think about Steddie going to the gym soooo much. For a lot of different reasons lmao. Part of it is that I think it's a great place for Eddie to thirst and be confused at how homoerotic so many of the rituals around the gym are, but also because there's a lot of humor in Eddie going to the gym.
He has a lot of energy, and we know he has some muscle, likely just from day to day activity, mechanics, band equipment, etc. He seems like he would enjoy being outdoors, and hiking or exploring. Something that is a work out but doesn't feel like one if you do it right. Despite all that, he absolutely has the vibe of someone who hated gym class (which, same), and probably would claim to hate working out/doing physical activity.
I just know that when Steve finally convinces him to go to the gym with him, Eddie would be SO MAD at how much he loves it and how great it makes him feel. He is absolutely that post that is like "you mean regular exercise is good for you and makes you feel good???? is good for your mental health??"
He feels lied to, he feels cheated. Maybe he should've expected this, now that he's dating a jock, but he thought that his jock was an exception. He hates jocks. What is happening to him.
Of course part of it is just that it's not gym class, which is not good at catering to any demographic other than "generally athletic and doing a school sport". Another part is that Steve is very big on making sure he doesn't hurt himself, and making sure that why he lifts and shit are at the level he is actually at. Steve would not allow him to overwork himself. He likes that he looks after him and likes that they are able to do something together that aligns with Steve's interests and not the nerd herd's.
It becomes a great way for them to spend time together in public, and it's extra fun when Robin comes along, or when they manage convince one of the others to join them.
The funniest part would be how much his friends would heckle him for it though. It's all affectionate, but Gareth every practice makes a joke about how he knows how Luke Skywalker feels, now that his "father" has betrayed him. Lucas is smug every time he shows up for a session with Steve, and Eddie is there too. it takes a lot for Eddie to remind himself he can't fight a toddler.
(He refuses to admit that he knows Lucas would win.)
The worst though, as @starsvs brought up, is that Steve would look at Eddie, who loves the outdoors, is good at staying hydrated for dnd/the band, and is now working out regularly? And go "babe I think you're a jock now" and Eddie would lose. his. shit.
Eddie genuinely takes a moment to consider if this is what is going to cause him to dump his boyfriend, because he better take that slander back right the fuck now. Eddie? A jock? The very antithesis of everything he stands for? The sheer dramatics that statement causes is enough to keep Steve laughing for weeks. Eddie would grumble and bitch for days, laying on the floor complaining about him!! being called a jock!!! Wayne is just calmly sipping his coffee and watching his boy go on and on, because its certainly more entertaining than anything on day time tv.

You ever read something so asinine that you instantly crave the taste of copper and dust that would come from bashing your head into the fucking pavement? So yeah, I saw Lily try to compare KH to Dark Souls. I crave the sweet release of unconsciousness by bludgeoning.
Dramatics aside, this is more than likely Lily saying shit to bait anons and deliberately piss off game nerds. (It’s me, I’m game nerd.) I know I’m falling for the trap, but by god, if I’m going down I’m taking Lily with me for being a mean spirited troll.
Tumblr media
Anon made perfect sense actually Lily. Here, let me hold your hand as I walk you through this.
In KH, you start the game with a choice between three weapons/classes that’ll influence Sora’s stats throughout the rest of the game. You do not get to change this later. Your choice will influence which skills are learned faster, but you will still always learn said skills eventually as you play. And if you come across a boss that requires a different approach, you have the ability to immediately switch tactics/load-out.
In Souls games, you have to think about your build. You have to pick which stats you devote resources to and think about how said stats will affect your gameplay. It’s not hard, you just have to pay attention. You like big weapons? You need strength. You like magic? Go for intelligence. It’s DnD logic. However, if you devote time and energy to one build and later come across a boss who’s resistant to your strengths? You cannot simply pause and change out your equipment and spells. You either have to respec or push through.
Kingdom Hearts also has difficulty modes to choose from. Souls games do not. I know you can read Lily, come on, let’s sound this out — KH isn’t as punishing. It’s okay. I know it’s still a hard game. To this day, if I hear “Dance Water Dance” I go into a blind rage. Buuuuut, KH is still more forgiving with the fact it even has the option of a difficulty settings. You cannot “play Dark Souls on hard,” you can play Dark Souls and that’s it.
Tumblr media
Now here I’ll concede that Kingdom Hearts can be immersive, but STILL in a very different way. Souls characters are blank slates. You have to create your character, you have to make choices that influence the story, the player character is completely apathetic to the world around them, you the player are the one who cares — which is contrasted to Sora because he is, you know, A FULLY FLESHED OUT CHARACTER. You have no influence over Sora’s decisions. Sora’s opinions. Sora’s reactions — they’re all his. Not the players.
KH is immersive in that you grow to like the characters and want to see them succeed.
Souls games are immersive because you alone want to succeed.
Tumblr media
They were making a point about how the player characters are different (fully realized person vs empty player stand-in), don’t be a bitch Lily, I know you knew what they meant. For fucks sake, you play Bioware games, you KNOW customizable characters are inherently different from fully realized ones.
Tumblr media
Again, stop being a bitch, Donald and Goofy and whatever extra party member you get from time to time are ai game mechanics made to support you throughout the whole game. Co-op Souls is optional, makes the bosses chunkier, and the only support they really contribute is an extra damage source and diverted aggression. The Summons effectively work the exact same. And you don’t have access to them for the majority of the game, unlike Donald and Goofy. Yes, you have the option to remove Donald and Goofy — but you don’t have the option to keep party members throughout Dark Souls. (“Oh but in co-op—“ I’m representing my psn account not-havers, we don’t get friendly randos online to help, we suffer through the bosses with ai or nothing.)
So yeah, it’s a completely different system.
Tumblr media
Ah, a classic Lily tactic. One where you purposely withhold context to support your statement. Dark Souls was praised for not being as punishing…. as Demon Souls. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t still punishing.
I know what you’re trying to do here Lily. You think other gamers think Dark Souls is superior to Kingdom Hearts, so you’re trying to rage bait them by implying both games core mechanics are similar enough to require the same skill set (but somehow KH is still better?). But in actually, you just look really fucking insecure about your own interests. Kingdom Hearts doesn’t have to be Dark Souls to be good. It is challenging, it is silly, it is engaging and fun—stop demeaning its own worth by saying it’s the better version of a completely different genre of game.
You just want to imply you can do what any Dark Souls player can, and you can’t.

Ooh!! What if the way Skelly and their S/O met and bonded had to do with them sharing a passion about one specific topic. Like, S/O knows EVERYTHING there is to know about this one particular thing.
The question is what is it? (And how often do the two of them nerd out over it?)
Sans: they bond over everything mechanics/nuclear/astronomy/physics and chemistry! … wow that’s a lot of topics. Well considering how much of a nerd sans is, his SO definitely has to be one too to match that! Hearing them geek out together gives his friends headaches lol.
Papyrus: PUZZLES! Any type! Word, boxes, rooms, riddles, he loves them all. Paps would adore a SO who loves a mental challenge the same way he does! For someone like this, he’d propose by putting the ring in a puzzle box for his SO. It may take them a while to reach it, but he knows they’ll love it all the more for that
Star: he really loves exercise and sports in general, which makes sense with his type. Stars always been more drawn to fit people. So someone who knows their sports is a great match for him! They can play pickup games together and paint their chests and scream at the referees in actual matches together! True love
Honey: he LOVES dnd. The SO of his dreams can play as a character and DM! Honey is the DM of his group, so he’d love a break occasionally to just be a character too. Or they have someone else do it and they be the power couple together. Every time honey rolls to seduce his SO though he always rolls 1s lol
Red: cars!!! Red loves cars, and he loves hot babes. Hot babes who love cars are like double the love for him! And of course in reds eyes, anyone who he has a thing for falls under “hot babe” category. Sometimes when his SO is gushing about their favorite truck models, he gets little hearts in his eyes
Edge: he loves fencing! And while he’s down to geek out about it, edge can’t help stressing out a little when his SO is in a duel. It’s just in his nature to be a bit overprotective. The way he gets excited when his SO wins a match though is absolutely adorable!
Mal: oh naturally this diva loves fashion, especially the kind that uses a lot of accessories. So a fashionable SO would be so fun to be with. The two basically share a closet these days with how much their clothes overlap now. And mal is always making new custom jewelry for SO and presenting the presents like the little shiny obsessed crow brained skeleton he is
Cash: well, he loves spicy food. So a SO who knows a ton about it is pretty cool he supposes. Cash is always impressed when his SO takes a sample of his really hot stuff, and just handles it like a champ. Most of his friends would be over the sink gagging by now. Kinda hot
Oak: food. He just likes food. When his SO walks into the room with the tallest burger he’s ever seen, oak doesn’t know what looks more angelic, his soon to be soulmate or the burger lol. His SO just has that happy glow around them sometimes, and oak just knows they had something delicious earlier and they can’t wait to tell him about it. And his beautiful kind angel of a SO always saves him a bite
Willow: he loves crafts of all kinds! So an artistic SO is lovely for him! Someone who enjoys making things with their own hands, and who isn’t afraid to try something new. It’s safe to say that 90% of willow and SOs dates revolve around a hobby of some sorts. And all their gifts to each other are either homemade or craft supplies

RUNS IN HERE AT FULL SPEED AND TRIPS OVER A BEAST
HI EXPLODES I LOVE YOUR WHOLE UNIVERSE THANG CAN WE GET HEADCANONS ABOUT THE SHEPHARDS? CURIOSITY,,,,
THAJNK U!!!! :DDDDD ues lets talk about the shephards (not mitchell or moint pan rhey aren't included...) ((is moint pan even a shephard??)) a few hcs n stuff under mread more! :3
Tumblr media
ALL of the shephards love creatures, something they all can bond over. Unlike the Freemen who can get pretty divisive, these Shephards actually get along pretty okay! And they all like og Freeman.
OG Shephard (he/they) is a thrill-seeker. Quiet, kind, and observant. Not the brightest bulb, joined the military bc he's shit at school (and for funsies). Friends with Tommy & John Freeman. Passionate about animal care and mechanics. Sticks to taking orders, only really stands his ground when they're fed up/annoyed. Casual gamer, good at flappy bird. nerf darts are scattered around his living place. he likes to stay busy with tasks.
Mindrian (he/him) is a disney princess. He's also a theater kid and took improv classes (he says "yes, and..."). Jocky nerd. God's nappiest soldier, he loves naps. Friends with Barmey, Martini, & Benrey. Awkward in large groups but knows how to enthrall small DnD parties with whimsical tales. Keeps dice on him. Sentimental. Despite how he carries himself, he is a dorky loser (with a semblance of charisma). PC gamer
Slaydrian (she/her) is quiet. She's strong-willed, not afraid of speaking her mind, and does so bluntly. Powerhouse. She's not mean, but comes across as dismissive because of her rbf + harsh way of speaking.  She's only visibly excited when Creatures are involved. Usually hangs out with Corp. She'll garden with them, and loves to take care of animals/insects + research about them. the person who has the wikipedia article for "ants" on their phone
Corporation (they/them) is pretty silly. Something about Corp is really endearing to those around them. Short and chubby. They love to garden, paint, do crafts, and cook! Always busy with something. Hates oil companies to a comical degree. they're very persuasive, despite speaking muffled gibberish. the others suspect them of being an eco-terrorist. Stays mostly with Slaydrian or the other GTE guys, but occasionally hangs out with Freemind & Martini for anarchy reasons.

Daisy and Daffodil for the flowery ask game ;)
Daisy - What inspired you to create your OC?
Izjik: I'm scared of fish and underwater caves and needed someone to be scared with me
Sepo: Izjik needed a friend and the concept of a mute, aroace, siren man was funny to me
Twenari: Sepo and Izjik needed someone to pull them into trouble, and wouldn't it be great if she was Doctor Strange but a twelve year old girl?
Djek: For a very early draft, Izjik and Sepo joined a mercenary guild, and I wanted a really underwhelming sorcerer who was good at other things on their team. Funnily enough, there was also a knight character in their squad named Destoux. I scrapped him, but the idea returned as Daedryn, the book 2 antagonist.
Astra: I needed a wizard npc to get my dnd players on the right track for a story arc. I wanted her to have a real hick accent because wizards are usually posh and british. Later on, I liked her enough that she got a book.
Mashal: I needed another npc accompanying Astra to have an emotional attachment to the villain. Also, robot. Love robot.
Ivander: I did a sketch this one time of a leperous elf woman wearing a beautiful porcelain mask. That idea morphed until it became a half-alien man wearing an illusion to cover a curse.
Daffodil - Is your OC likeable?
Likable is a pretty subjective thing, so I'm gonna rate them on how much I personally would want to spend a day with them.
Izjik - 9/10: A very solidly likable woman. She's funny, down to earth, could bench press two of me, and loves hiking. The only downside is that she wouldn't get my nerdy jokes.
Sepo - 7/10: Once he warms up to you, he's clever, likes to tease endearingly, and will do most anything for you. He's very much a grumpy older brother. However, that warm-up period is really rough.
Twenari - 8/10: We're both nerds, but in different directions. I think I could have some wonderful conversations with her, and I always love someone I can read in silence with. I do think I'd forget that she's twelve and invite her out to an R-rated movie or something.
Djek - 6/10: Personally, I'm not the type to hang out with life-of-the-party extroverts. I think he and I would get along swimmingly, I just don't think we'd interact much due to different hobbies.
Astra - 5/10: Lord, this woman would get on my nerves. I get that her prickly overconfidence is a defense mechanism (I wrote her that way, after all), but if I had to interact with her as a regular person, I doubt I'd see past it. I'd still think she's undeniably cool, though.
Mashal - 8/10: A genuinely kind and lovely man. He's the type to make you cupcakes because he thinks you're having a bad day or to remember what music you like so he can listen to it later. He only gets points off because he's a bit of a prude and would frown sadly whenever I talk about graffiti plans.
Ivander - 4/10: A fascinating specimen of a person, but god, what an absolute bitch. He's mean to people, no two ways about it. He'd make that middle school bully face while fake-complimenting your shoes to make you feel poor. He isn't lower on points because I appreciate people who are unabashed gossips and have no compunctions about telling me what Kelly from HR is up to when her husband is out of town.
Thanks for the asks, these were fun!

It Begins / How do I introduce over six months of development in a single post?
Salutations, I'm a gay nerd and I wanted to make a fantasy ttrpg with a setting that panders to myself and anyone else who might have my taste so here we are :)
The ttrpg in question is Prima Materia, and I've been working on it for a while and making ok progress so I figure I should probably start a devblog (that's what this is) so I can finally start sharing it rather than keeping the entire project within my own circle of friends, never seeing the light of day beyond that. Particularly because I'm finally playtesting some aspects and want to actually release it into the wild someday so people can share and play it as they please.
Ah, so you've clicked the keep reading link? OHOHO you fool I shall unleash an infodump of epic proportions onto ye!
*checks notes*
Right I should probably introduce this project in more depth and explain how I got to this point, and why I'm working on it in the first place. A chronological account should suffice.
Back in the days of yore (2020) when I was getting into ttrpgs for what would become the third time I had first gotten into them (previous times don't count), I was trying to create a setting for DND so I could become a DM for the first time, fueled by the disappointment that every other game I'd been a player in ended after about 2 sessions max. Making an entire setting is of course not recommended for first time DMs, particularly ones that ever want to play the game, but of course this did not dissuade me for I am built different [incorrectly].
I built a tidally locked planet for that campaign, filled it with lore and towns and cities and an apocalypse that happened some time in the past. All was well, and the campaign lasted about a year before the holiday season came and caused it to dissipate. Reduced to atoms. By that point I had been homebrewing creatures and items for my homebrewed setting, including new playable species and subclasses. Homebrew is like a glue trap, and brother, I'm a dead rat.
After that campaign ended the OGL scandal hit (among many other things I won't go into depth about) and I saw the need to create for myself a place where I can always and forever write fun stuff to share with others, in a system that I have control over. After all, integrating the system and the setting, building them explicitly to serve each other, would allow for much more creativity.
That setting still exists on my hard drive, and while I do import some of my original work for it into Prima Materia's setting from time to time, it is dead and shall remain dead until such a time I can completely re-write it to make sense in Prima Materia. But it's so ingrained with DNDs lore that it honestly would be more like an homage to the original campaign I had with my friends.
So, I got to work. I started, of course, with watching a million videos on the subject of making a ttrpg and not actually writing anything down. But eventually, an eternity later, I was ready. I started doing some science-adjacent worldbuilding to build the initial planet for the setting, in which the initial setting would be. I created continents that looked mildly plausible, charted out ocean gyres, wind patterns, and finally climates. This continued for a while, and I made the playable species and started figuring out where on the continents they would have evolved so I could figure out what their cultures would eventually be in the modern day after 10,000 years of history.
In short, I had worldbuilder's disease; and while I did make some decent progress on mechanics like dice rolling, some combat, skills, attributes and stats, it started coming to a head when I convinced myself that I needed to make a minimum of five conlangs in order to name seven continents (and various cities).
Enter stage left, one of my friends who thinks my project is cool but recognizes that I am not getting much done. This friend, Spinz (who I hear has their own project coming down the pipeline by the way >w>), has become my Screamer of Tasks and is reminding me of the important things to focus on to actually make the ttrpg a reality some time in this millennium. Thanks to their help, I've been able to get to the stage where I am able to inflict my project onto my friends so that I may playtest mechanics and generally have an otherwise fun time with them.
So what actually is the setting? That seems like a lot of buildup and waffling.
True! I felt it was important to explain where the project is coming from. As for the setting itself, I don't think I can do better than the introduction I already wrote for it in the PDF. So here's that.
After several hundreds of trillions of years the last known natural stars in the universe began to die, heralding the end of the stelleriferous period and the start of a new age full of the neutron cores and black holes they left behind. But the gods this universe spawned would not let their mother die so soon. They created new stars fueled by their own Prima Materia, the building block from which all other substance comes; a pure marriage between matter, energy, time, and thought through which the manipulation and creation of physics itself is possible.
The gods created massive bodies for themselves in orbit around their stars. Some fell into a deep sleep, some are content to watch as the eons of time give way to the fruits of their labor. Others still engage in grandiose projects of a more personal nature. But they all continue the work which allows for life to once again evolve in the small pockets of the universe which now continue to defy entropy, a constant stream of Prima Materia flowing from their bodies into the stars that they orbit. Some day, they too will reach the stars.
But that's old news, and there are none left alive to remember it but the gods themselves. In the world of Prima Materia, you play as a relatively normal sapient creature in a smaller corner of reality that has much smaller problems to contend with. Brigands, societal clashes, ancient ruins, dragons, and the wayward extra-universal threat to the planet. Many societies have also been able to harness certain powers of now free-floating Prima Materia through a process often known as "Alchemy." Alchemy, an involved study which requires just as much craftsmanship as it does ingenuity, has opened up an entirely new science for societies to develop in this age of the universe.
Who will you be? What legends will be written in your name?
There are several playable species in the setting, all of which have various distinct cultures. Koura, which are basically giant lobsters; Sepia, which are basically giant Cuttlefish; Humans, which are basically giant chimpanzees; Entari, which are strange bird pterodactyl things with feathers (they're hard to explain but I will get art I promise); Xente, which are basically giant amoeba (ones that can change their shape to be humanoid of course, what even would be the point if they couldn't); Possum, which are basically... bipedal possums and Ternaki which are basically short technicolor space elves (They believe in God). All of these species will get their very own blog post of course, but this post is hugely long and I'm getting worried about people getting bored so that's all for now.
In the future blog posts won't be this long I promise (hopefully) and they'll be a lot more focused on one thing. This blog is meant to record the development process, write down a lot of worldbuilding that has lived only in my head for too long, and link to playtests.
If you made it this far, holy crap you read a lot of my shenanigans thank you for your time I am indebted to you, truly. The next post will be about Dice Mechanics. Bye.
P.S. If you want to ask questions about Prima Materia (or me) you can send me an ask on my main blog @girlcodedcreature
