with my solavellan, it's a slow steady walk towards each other over years. Solas willingly leaves the tower he's been hiding himself in, drawn out by the beacon of curiosity, kindness, and quiet strength that is Lavellan. the torment that she is real is worth the joy. she makes his spirit sing and reminds him of the being he used to be, the being he should have been if none of it had ever happened. not with regret about his choices, but with hope that he can reclaim himself. he is tortured by the possibility there is another way. his resolve gradually weakens until it's hanging by a thread and he has to cling to it with everything he has.

with my solrook, an un-romanced Solas hasn't faltered a single step when they first confront each other. over a few short months, the dream connection has Rook laying siege with their confidence and flair and righteous anger against the walls he has built. Rook is both a thorn in his side and a diverting weapon, unwanted but useful. their drive to succeed is matched only by his. they carve into him relentlessly and study his strengths and weaknesses until they know him better than anyone else alive. they remind him, not of his spirit like Lavellan does, but of the Dread Wolf. the trickster that spent a millennium chipping away at the foundations of the evanuris and enjoyed it. his resolve is only strengthened by a new opponent. he cannot be saved, only stopped.

Anyway DocGeorge is my guilty pleasure ship. I know it doesn't make sense canonically but I'm just having fun here. I like to think it's leaning more towards platonic and non-committing, so like a situationship or queerplatonic relationship. 😊

I've been thinking that they would get along and at least be friends in the new timeline 'cause they both like science stuff. Other people have talked about what their friendship would be like and I would personally save that for another post.

it is incredibly hard not to grab the wedding rings from the skeletons (both the true love's embrace/caress pair & the worn gold rings that used to have a date on them) & have galecassia equip them. the only thing that's stopping me is that they give no advantage of any sort (warding bond Does Not Help at ALL) so i'm currently making gale carry them around "secretly" like he just slipped them into his pocket while she wasn't looking.
