I have talked about this before and the abuse I got made me reticent of ever bringing the topic again but I'm mad as hell due the last developments in this Fandom so please let's talk about this.

We don't know what sauron thought/felt during the creation of mordor but we've been told he only went back to the dark path in eregion. If sauron was truly repetent during the campaign on the southlands (and I believe he was) is that hard to picture him saving the people even with the knowledge that he was drunk on his connection with gal? He wasn't cosplaying as the king of soutlands merely in order to fool gal. He was certain it was the right path and maybe watching the tree in Númenor crying had a lot to do with it. We know he is not as malicious as Melkor. He truly thinks the evil he does is necessary for the greater good. So why wouldn't he save these people of he could and they didn't posed any threat to him?

I, too subscribe to the theory that he saved gal from dying from that fall. Galadriel keeps him going according to Charlie. And like you said she didn't had any injury besides that one caused by the stabbing with the crown. Beyond that she wasn't even wearing the ring so nenya couldn't have helped her. We've watched elrond jumping and Galadriel's reaction to it made clear she is capable to assess the gravity of danger of such a jump and Gal was ready to die there. The fact that she believed she was about to die is enough to me. Sauron wanted her willingly. Nenya is gal. And if the ring was he cared about he could had her killed even after the jump. Instead we watch his shock and concern. Unless the show outright denies him saving her I will believe it was so.

Call me delusional all you want but twice now Galadriel has inexplicably survived certain [physical] death situations while Sauron is around, in RoP.

The sorcerer who has control over the eruptions of Mount Doom and performs magic with his hands? That’s a hell of a coincidence, and a very strong plot armor.
