First post, and it’s Project Sekai of course! I’ve written up headcanons for all the characters (Not the virtual singers), sorted by group, and wanted to share!

₊‧꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱ ‧ Wonderlands X Showtime ₊‧꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱ ‧

Tsukasa literally raised himself. He’d love being taken care of. Plus he’d ALWAYS put on shows for his caregiver, expecting praise. He loves any pet names relating to star, “My little star” “Shining like the bright star you are” “My darling star” etc. His caregiver singing is the most calming thing ever, or it’ll amp him up because he wants to sing along. He loves acting out stories! Makes bedtime not so calm, but who could be mad at such a cute little star? Probably regress to like 3-5, old enough to function well (For his shows of course!) but he still has the childlike whimsy

Rui best caregiver. He would come up with games for his little, he’d also make them things- Like oh my baby needs somewhere to store their stuffies? It’s ok he’ll make like a giant dollhouse. Need a playpen? Slide and tunnels included. Ball pit, trampoline. Only the best for his little one. He’s also an amazing chef. He’ll make the best meals ever, or if he’s not cooking he’ll arrange his little one’s plate to look absolutely adorable. Always creative with how he does everything

Emu I see either way. She’d either be the cutest little ever. Like 1-4. Almost always nonverbal and explaining with hand movements instead of words. When she does use words it doesn’t raspy make sense. Like, “How are you feeling today?” “Super wonderhoy wuper duper!” Like you can make sense of it but half of the words aren’t real words. Loves her stuffies, cuddle piles for the win. Or she’d be the most fun caregiver ever. Never letting her baby cry. She’s amazing at getting a smile back on that baby’s face if they’re sad, but if they’re sick or something she feels sort of at a loss. She still makes it all better! It just takes wayyy to long and her poor baby seems so uncomfortable

Nene again either way- She’d regress to a decently big age, like 4-7 but be nonverbal. Not because she can’t talk, she just doesn’t want to. Lots of naps and video games. She’d be a bit panicky as a caregiver? Like always worried about messing up and stuff like that. But she’d be so gentle and soft. The best cuddles. Always caring so carefully for her little one

ੈ✩‧₊˚ Nightcord at 25:00 ✩‧₊˚

Kanade would regress fairly big. Like 3-6. Lots of crying but quiet crying. She always wants to be working on something, coloring books are preferred. Very responsible, she can use a big kid cup and everything (Does need a straw though). Hates overly childish things. Don’t give her that overly cute stuff. Wants like old comfy clothes and stuffies. Stuffies that look like. Realistic? Like a cat stuffie needs to be a cat color. Give her a purple cat and she’ll hate it. Monochrome or dull colors like pastels, nothing like neon.

Mafuyu is a baby. Like 1-3. She doesn’t express her needs at all, no crying, no tantrums. She’ll respond to questions but won’t express a need. Like if you ask if she’s hungry she’ll say yes, but she’ll never ask for food. She expresses things on a temperature scale, warm is good, cold is bad. It’s the only way she understands

Ena regresses pretty big 4-6. DRAWING. She expects her caregiver to draw with her, wants her drawings hung up, all that. Give her praise she’s a happy baby. She gets really bratty sometimes though, tantrums are very common. Sometimes she needs to be set down for a nap even if she says she’s fine

Mizuki is just a sweet little girl. Gender affirming nicknames are golden “my good girl” “baby girl” “princess” etc. everything cute, everything pink. Outfits are very important, loves playing dress. Wide age range 2-6. Not embarrassed at all once her caregiver knows, but before that she’ll hide it like her life depends on it. Needs reassurance her caregiver won’t leave constantly

An could go either way honestly. Like she regresses but not often. When she does it’s because she’s overwhelmed with self doubt. Regresses fairly big 3-6. She needs praise all the time. If her caregiver makes mistakes sometimes that honestly helps. Makes her feel less behind. For example she loves singing, and she’ll pick songs not in her caregivers vocal range to hear their voice crack

Akito overworks himself and usually drops forcefully. Better watch him or he’ll drop in public, my man does not monitor his own mental state. He’s a big boy like 4-6. Mega brat, insists on having his way. Refuses to do anything productive. Walk to the kitchen for a snack? Nuh uh his caregiver can get it for him. Need to go take a bath? Maybe later. No shame whatsoever either. He can throw an hour long tantrum and won’t even apologize

Toya’s just a baby, 2-5. He’ll try doing work, don’t let him. He’s not allowed near the piano. He’ll get really upset if he doesn’t play something perfectly. Baby needs spoiled. Sweet snacks, a bunch of stuffed animals. He collects pacifiers. He needs them all. REFUSES to let Akito pick his outfits. He will not be looking like a fashion disaster (I love Akito but the three jackets-). Also Toya has a surprisingly good vocabulary. He talks like a big kid then you ask his age and he’s like “Uhm. 3”

Kohane is a caregiver through and through. She’s willing to go along with just about anything her little one wants. She’d not great at offering her own ideas though. Always good at giving options “This or that” “Point to what you want” etc. She will learn ALL the lullabies to sing to get little one. Her voice is so soft and gentle it’ll help anyone sleep. Really bad at saying no, even when she knows she has to. Her little one wants to eat an entire bag of chocolate chips? Better look away from those puppy dog eyes before she finds herself saying yes

Haruka I see as a caregiver??? Like yes she overworks herself but like. Idk I just can’t see her regressing really. Always performs concerts for her little one and lets them participate. Plans them a regression schedule and activities. Snacks are prepped for easy access. Always has a bottle or sippy cup ready to grab and go. Carries a pacifier just in case. She’s so responsible

Minori is a caregiver. She’s her little’s biggest fan ever. Anything her little does it met with applause and praise. Loves hanging up their drawings, keeps one in her wallet even. She’s really creative in making up stories for stuffed animals to act out but she can literally only do one voice- She’s so bad at voice acting but she tries

Airi I feel like is just a sweet little thing, 2-4. Mostly non-verbal BUT she will talk and talk and talk for her stuffed animals. Amazing at all the different voices. Doesn’t wanna sing, just hums and dances. She loves sweet snacks but gets anxious it’ll ruin her figure. She likes listening to music and making up dances, but really really likes it if her caregiver dances and she can copy them

Shizuku is a tiny baby, 1-3. No thoughts in her head, just baby. Non verbal but will babble her caregivers ear off. She doesn’t do anything the requires thinking, no games, do dancing, no drawing. She will color, she will watch shows, she loves listening to stories and watching her caregiver. Also LOVES nap. This baby is a napper. Give her a bottle of warm milk and she’s out

Ichika is a tiny one, 1-4. She’s a nervous baby, never wants to be a burden. She cries a lot and has the sweetest softest little voice. Very clingy, she loves getting attention. If her caregiver seems upset sometimes she’ll force herself out of headspace because she feels like she needs to comfort them. This leads to yucky side effects like headaches and sudden uncontrollable drops

Saki is a big girl! 3-5, she wants people around. Play dates are her favorite thing ever. Loves anything she can do with people, games, coloring, singing, you name it. Loves messing with her synth settings to make funny noise’s. She always wants to go places and do things but her caregiver has to stop her because people outside can be judgmental ):

Shiho is tiny and more consistent with her age range, 2-3. Mostly nonverbal but pretty good vocabulary, just chooses not to talk. She’s pretty self sufficient, but she appreciates the help so much. A simple thing like her caregiver holding her bottle for her means so much to her. She mainly just wants to go to sleep immediately, not really one for just hanging out in headspace

Honami is a wide wide range, 2-6. She always tries taking care of her caregiver in the cutest little ways. Feeding them her food, offering them her drinks, always wrapping them in blankets. Likes playing doctor a lot. Overall just a happy girl. If she’s sad she cries a bunch but praise her and she’ll be all smiles soon enough!

Sorry if this is OOC! I thought I did a pretty good job, but I haven’t read all the stories yet. Might do this with BSD next? If I do that’ll be in multiple parts though…

Young Minamoto was embarrased of being a regressor, thinking it's a shame for Minamoto family. Who would think of exorcist acting like a little toddler? Of course, Nene did not have to worry about this. She was now fully regressed at the moment, cuddling some Mokkes. She wore white onesie and paci with the same color, which Hanako found just adorable. Nene looked at Kou with curiosity, blinking her crimson eyes. Hanako was holding his special outfit he made for Kou - blue onesie and a cozy shirt. Kou pouted, not wanting to even look at it. "Oh, my stubborn little boy…~" Hanako chuckled. "It's not the end of the world, silly billy!" "Nu-uh! Won wear dis!" Kou baby-talked involountary, as he already started to regress. He wiped his tears, sniffling. "Minamoto-kun… I know you need this…" Hanako patted Kou's head. "You miss him, right?" He said after a moment of thinking. Kou knew Hanako was talking about Mitsuba. He missed him, he could not erase Mitsuba's lifeless body from his mind. He sniffled, his blue eyes watering like a broken faucet. "There, there…" Hanako hugged Kou. Nene crawled to them, concerned. "Kou, awe u okie?" she cooed. Kou peeked at her… She looked even cuter than before… He blushed, his eyes shone as he admired Nene's adorableness… "Okie… I okie…"

Kou stopped fussing and dressed in his outfit. He suckled his blue paci, giggling and petting one of Mokkes. Other one bravelly letted Nene dress it up in dollie clothes. Hanako smiled warmly at his little friends. "Now, i think you feel better, Minamoto kun…~"

Tiny Tsukasa and Tiny Emu going to PXL to play instead of to work. Their carers Nene and Rui underestimated the energy Tiny Tsukasa has. And Tiny Emu actually gets burnt out very quickly and has to be carried most of the time by Rui who she fell asleep on. And they have the play date ever.

When Rui learned that Nene was an age regressor, he added some caregiver functionalities to Nenerobo's AI, being able to tell when her human counterpart is small and taking care of her when needed. The robot is able to do simpler things such as getting her snacks or watching her, but if she seems smaller than usual or her needs are beyond what she can do then Nenerobo is programmed to tell one of the others she's little, which Nene very much dislikes since she tends to hide when she's small.

"Nene has age regressed to an age I estimate is lower than usual. I advise that you go over to care for her if possible.")

1　 ﹒　Stress is a common fatigue for Rui, this can be said for anyone. Yet, there will always be moments where you just need an escape from it all. Will Rui ever willingly soothe himself and let himself escape from the pouring rain of stress? Haha..

2　 ﹒　Performing was always challenging for Rui, whether he was in a more adult-like mindset or not. It was meant to be, after-all, that’s the talent behind such a thing! Giving himself and the others challenging and extraordinary roles was just another part of being a director, you must push actors comfort zone for them to grow more familiar with much more distinct characters unlike them.

3　 ﹒　Greeting the others at evening practice was a little more difficult than Rui hoped for. Just this once, he stumbled over a few simple words, ones he had usually purred flawlessly. And, maybe he felt his heart drop in the slightest at the scrutinizing looks he received from Nene and Tsukasa in that moment, but so what?

4　 ﹒　Practice had started a little quicker than he had hoped, he had wanted to talk to the others a bit more without having to play pretend. He wanted to see Tsu’s big flashy smile and scrunched nose, Nene’s light sigh’s and small, encouraging looks; and Emu’s shaking hands from pure excitement, mixed with her tight hug that could knock a fully grown man over.

5　 ﹒　Beginning the scenes, Tsukasa had immediately jumped to light, followed by Nene, then… oh, it was his turn. He had missed it. Those looks were back, stronger than ever, might he add. Truly puzzling… it was as if they were suspecting him of something.

6　 ﹒　However, after a few mistakes, minor and major, Rui bit at his lip, and the others only grew more and more suspicious of him and his mannerisms. It certainly didn’t take long for one of them to ask, either.

7　 ﹒　Simple questions, filled with sweet words and a gentler tone than normal, ones asking about his messy, chopped hair. Others asking about his fidgety hands and lack of laughter and tease. One, having asked about his finger finding its way to his mouth, being bitten and sucked on.

8　 ﹒　A coo, and then a whisper, tugging away his hand, Tsukasa held it within his own, and Emu immediately jumped up, sparkles basically shimmering in her eyes as she suggested the SEKAI as a sweet retreat. Oh oh! And, we can’t forget an ACTUAL sweet TREAT, can we?!

9　 ﹒　Cuddled within the SEKAI, stuffed animals purring at his feet and giggling as he picked them up and held them close, the troupe members sat within each others arms, holding their little one the closest of them all.

It most certainly didn’t take long for practice to be called off.

For a few generic headcannons not quite following a story line…

1　 ﹒　Rui regresses from 2-5, more commonly leaning towards the younger ages. He can be rambunctious when he wants to be, but he prefers messing around with trinkets and cuddling his caregivers. Listening to stories are the best, especially when his caregivers act out the scenes with him, hehe.

2　 ﹒　He definitely hates being in public when little, no matter what. Even being slightly fuzzy can cause a panic attack from him.

3　 ﹒　It doesn’t take long before Rui’ll convince you to let him take apart the TV remote when little, he’s the best at puppy eyes, believe me!

Tsukasa’s regression is triggered by seeing new stuff. He walks in and sees Emu for a new plushy? Instant baby! Nene gets small if they’re all just laying on the backs looking up at the clouds on the ceiling. And Emu gets tiny when she cleans her room! Especially after lining up her plushies all nice on her bed!

can we talk about Emu’s bedroom for a second. Like. Oh my god

Not even from an agere perspective it’s great, because there’s so much color and little things and plushies everywhere and it’s so full of childish whimsy. But when you look at it from an agere standpoint…

imagine WxS having routine sleepovers at each other’s houses. Sometimes it’s at Tsukasa’s, the next it’s at Nene’s. Either way, at one point in time, it was Emu’s first time hosting. Of course she was ecstatic, she had to show everyone around! Especially her so super colorful magnificent sparkly-shiny bedroom!!!

Rui takes a single step inside and.. wow. His head feels light, his thoughts are oddly muddled, and as he picks up one of Emu’s plushies to inspect closer, he gets the inexplicable urge to chew on its ear. The longer he’s in there the smaller he feels, until he’s biting his thumbnail as a poor substitute for sucking on it. And yep, he’s regressed. All from Emu’s room.

They all think it’s an adorable outcome to what was supposed to be a harmless thing. Whats better than a sleepover? Getting to dote over a tiny little director of course :3

✿ Most of the time Nene goes to Toya. She loves Honami a whole bunch of course! It’s just that Nene’s favorite thing to do is play games! Or watch someone play games. And Toya is really good at that! So obviously she goes to Toya more. Which leads to her being more reliant and attached to Toya. So when Toya isn’t available… Poor little one gets very stressed out very quickly

𐙚 If Nene ends up regressing when Toya is busy at first she’ll just whine really loudly to try and get attention. Moving and talking are really hard… Eventually Honami finds her of course! Honami will walk in and scoop the baby into her arms, softly cooing at her and bouncing her, trying to calm her down and figure out what the issue is. But that’s not what Nene wants! Where’s Toya? She’ll be looking over Honami’s shoulder trying to find her gaming caregiver. When she can’t find him she starts crying ( ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ )

✿ Honami is able to figure out the problem pretty quick, and she’s onto trying to soothe the little one! Honami always has snacks ready, so she’ll walk into the kitchen and put a bottle of milk she already had prepped into the microwave, she’ll offer Nene little treats like cookies or muffins! But usually Nene won’t take any if she’s upset. But that’s ok! Soon enough the milk will be nice and warm for Honami to feed to the baby! Happy times!

𐙚 Even once Honami manages to calm Nene down, baby still wants to play games! The solution depends on her headspace age! If she’s a bigger toddler-like age then Honami will happily hold the little one in her lap, watching as Nene plays and praising her for her skills! If Nene feels too small to do that though Honami will try a game! Usually something very calm. Nothing at all with combat or stress… Just a slow paced peaceful game. And Nene gets to watch!

✿ Sometimes neither of them really wants to play games though, so they can watch play throughs! Honami doesn’t really get it, but she’s happy to coo at Nene’s reactions! Nene just gets so excited watching people play these games that she loves! Plus sometimes the people she’s watching play don’t know the tricks that she does hehe, makes her feel super duper smart! And Honami’s praise only makes her feel even better!

𐙚 Sometimes Honami will have stuff ready to bake when Nene is regressed! Mostly Nene just likes to watch, so they usually bake when Nene is a sleepy baby. That way she can also sleep through the baking time! But Honami has a bunch of game themed cookie cutters! Controller shaped ones, items from games, things that get Nene really excited! Honami will hold the baby while she bakes, then lay Nene down for her nap as the cookies go into the oven. Then by the time Nene wakes up the cookies are all cooled and ready to eat!

✿ Toya has definitely won a bunch of plushies for Nene from claw machines! So when Nene is missing him Honami brings them all out! Surrounding Nene in things that remind her of Toya! All the plushies Toya won for her, giving her one of Toya’s hoodies… It feels like being wrapped in a nice warm hug from him! It makes Nene very comfortable and happy overall. Once she gets to recharge surrounded by her Toya stuff she wants hugs from Honami though! After all she will loves both of her caregivers

★ starting off strong with age ranges!! i think emu has an absolutely comically large age range (0 to around 7). nene, on the other hand, is usually in the 2-5 age range!!

★ i think they have a pretty even split between who regresses and who caregives, they both do it equally often. this does occasionally lead to them regressing at the same time, but as you said, they will call rui if necessary. rui doesn’t mind; he quite likes taking care of them!! they’re just so cute

★ when emu is regressed, she’s either really active or really Not active. if she’s not running around bouncing off the walls, she’s fast asleep. emu is a VERY deep sleeper and is also very clingy, so nene often ends up being hugged (very tightly) by emu while she’s snoring in her ear and drooling on her. nene will do anything for emu, though, so she finds it impossibly endearing

★ when nene is regressed, she adores parallel play!! she isn’t exactly the best at them while small, but she still loves playing video games with emu, even if she’s just button mashing and babbling at the screen. when she’s on the younger side, she likes any form of sensory play. emu will stand next to her and play alongside her!! she also LOVES singing and being sung to. when she’s sad or sleepy, the best way for emu to get her to calm down and comfort her is by singing her a lullaby!!

★ emu as a cg is the definition of fun!! that’s not to say she’s completely irresponsible, though; as hard as it is for her, she will put her foot down if necessary. as she is when small, she’s pretty clingy, so if nene is upset and wants cuddles, emu is more than happy to oblige!! she’ll always respect nene when she needs space, though. whatever nene needs, emu will give it to her

★ nene is a bit more responsible cg; there’s a reason why one of her kizuna rank titles with tsukasa is “legal guardian’s association”!! she is, however, very weak to emu’s puppy eyes, and she has a very hard time saying no to emu. while she doesn’t think she’s the best with comforting, when emu is upset, nene will hold her and sing to her as emu does to her :) it works like a charm

★ when the two of them are both small, they usually play pretend. emu makes up scenarios and nene’s just happy to be there :) they also love making up their own musicals!! they enjoy re-enacting ones they’ve seen or performed with the rest of wxs too. they have so much fun together

I've noticed you're into psychology so maybe you can help me out with figuring out what attachment style Kou is :D I think he has an anxious attachment style but I'm not sure since he doesn't always fill out the criteria for lack of a better word. Idk I'd just love to hear your thoughts on this

I had to brush up on attachment styles for this because I haven’t thought much about them since I took lifespan development psych. I’ll admit, my initial reaction to Kou having an anxious attachment was to be on the fence. I have an anxious attachment style and my own relationships look very different from the way Kou’s are portrayed, I tend to maintain distance while Kou goes all in. But not all styles are going to present the exact same way, and upon further inspection I think an anxious attachment style is most likely for Kou!

It makes sense with how unstable his home life is, and how Teru focused a lot on warning him about the dangers of the world. Plus with how Teru (who seems to be his primary caregiver after his mother’s death) is very loving but also not home often, putting a lot of responsibility on Kou. He clearly wants strong relationships, but he’s terrified of losing people. He needs constant reassurance, which is a core element of anxious attachment. Even early in the manga, he panicked when he thought Teru didn’t trust him with the school mystery case

Then we have his romantic relationship with Mitsuba, which is a whole train wreck in and of itself. This is another dynamic in which Kou requires constant reassurance, he needs Mitsuba to rely on him and only him. In fact one of his deepest desires is for Mitsuba to be helpless without him. We see this also in his friendships, with how he’s constantly trying to prove himself to Hanako and Nene by showing off that he can protect them (even in situations where he clearly can’t). He’s also insecure in his friendships with Yokoo and Satou, wanting to open up to them about his life as an exorcist but being forced to keep it a secret. And he struggles to talk about his emotions, I don’t remember the exact chapter but Yokoo and Satou pointed this out during the school sleepover at the beginning of the Grim Reaper arc

So yeah, Kou wanting so badly to be close to people but never feeling secure in those relationships definitely looks like an anxious attachment style. I’ll add that Mitsuba shows signs of a disorganized attachment style, specifically with the way he interacts with Kou. He wants someone to rely on, but when Kou offers to be that person for him he pushes him away. It takes Kou jumping off a building for Mitsuba to believe he genuinely cares about him. I mention this because tbh disorganized attachment styles kinda fuck me up, I get emotional just reading the word. But I digress
