The thoughts that accompany this
The older Neko Ninja are starved for positive affection from those they perceive as family, and Yuichi pulls up as a sibling figure without the hangups that come from being raised in the neko ninja crew(they only fought to the death a few times! Isn't that great?) and a free mother figure adult(two if you wanna count Karasu-Tengu maybe)? The kittens need to share right the fuck now holy shit
I have another comic in the idea pile do y'all prefer handwritten or default text for speech bubbles?
Bonus no text ver, I put a lot of effort into that final panel pose

“The resolution of this incident the following day would inflict a kind of shock the world never saw coming.” The words that set the stage for the event that will take place surrounding the Straw Hats beyond chapter 1078.
Each time we’ve seen a major battle where an Emperor has been involved, one side is usually completely devastated by the end. At Marineford, the Whitebeard Pirates lost their captain and a division commander. Kaido and Big Mom’s alliance was thoroughly torn down by the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai alliance.
As part of the lead up to Wano, chapter 909 gives a reminder of Marineford, before Marco tells Neko that the crew later regrouped to fight Blackbeard.
Tumblr media
Forget Blackbeard having two devil fruits, the important thing is that going after an Emperor without allies or merely for the sake of revenge is asking to fail, as much as that stings. Recklessness or going it alone won’t work against an Emperor. I know it’s a joke in some parts of the fandom that Oda likes being mean to the Whitebeard Pirates, but it’s kinda true.
I love Whole Cake Island, though it is a miracle among miracles that the Straw Hats and co made it out of Totland with such few losses. There’s still a part of me that feels that things lined up a bit too well for them there at the end, even accounting for Luffy’s tremendous luck. My own thoughts on the escape from Whole Cake Island aside, the crew reaching Laughtale will feel much better the less allies all come out of the woodwork at the most convenient time.
Tumblr media
Getting back to chapter 909, Marco’s words here likely resonated with the big kitty next to him, Neko being a retainer of Oden who is preparing to fight a big war and has a similar motive. Marco wanting to “make that ingrate pay,” sounds a lot like a dark version of returning a favor. Difference is, preparation for the raid on Onigashima has been building for the past 20 years for the characters, and since Punk Hazard for the readers. The samurai having the Straw Hats specifically on their side is a major boon too. I love Hyogoro’s line about the crew turning despair into hope.
The Straw Hats are folks who had no prior connections to Kaido, and who could go into the battle with clearer heads. Which allowed the samurai focus their energy where it was most needed, after their role in starting off the raid by getting the jump on Kaido in that very cool panel. Whether that be facing an opponent other than Kaido, overcoming a setback for the sake of others, or realizing there is a future for them beyond the battle. Several parts of Wano feel like they are subverting the Marineford War or the Payback War that the Whitebeard remnants fought. Especially in scenes where Luffy, Marco, or Izo are involved.
Tumblr media
And that brings us to Law and Kidd this arc. One got into a battle against Blackbeard, the other Shanks. During Wano, both had an alliance to depend on, willingly or not. Though that is no longer the case for the two of them and I can’t say that I’ve got high hopes for either succeeding against the respective Emperor’s crew they are facing.
The Straw Hats are the Emperor’s crew now and have taken the time to gather allies who could assist them, or in the case of the Grand Fleet, had them join anyway. Major three are Fishman Island and Wano flying the crew’s Jolly Roger, and the Grand Fleet.
Jinbei is here as rep for Fishman Island/the Sun Pirates, the Grand Fleet appearing has been heavily foreshadowed, and given everything about Kiku during Wano’s conclusion, several members of Wano’s cast being directly mentioned by Straw Hats on Egghead, and the many ideas that play well with themes present in Kiku’s story, I find it difficult to come up with any solid counter points to the most floral member of the Akazaya joining the Straw Hats and filling a similar role to Jinbei in the story. I’m thinking Denjiro in 975 is a good example to look at for how parts of Kiku’s potential reveal could happen. Subduing a big threat, speaking of owing a great debt, leading reinforcements. Bonus points if the weather machine on Egghead gets broken and the snow surrounding the island slowly closes in.

So some more details for Kirby and The Circle of Time:
Some lore I'm including for this is that Kirby and Zero both spawned from Void in its orb state, whereas Eifilis spawned from Void in its beast/Termina form. As such, Kirby and Zero warp space in order to surpass time,,whereas Eifilis warps time in order to surpass space. Kirby and Zero also act more like blackholes,,whereas Eifilis acts more like a sun.
Marx here is still very chaotic neutral. He's helping the main crew because "Kirby owes him a ten tier cake." Of course, that partially a lie, for he does care for Kirby. He still wants that cake, though.
Magolor acts as the party shopkeep and the sort of... lore keeper of the group. He appears at random locations,,selling various upgrades for party members and also dropping hints at lore for this game.
Shadow Kirby plays a huge part in saving our Kirby.
Hi Winter!
Elfilis as an offspring of Void! Oooh, I've never heard of that before! I really like it!
Plus "warping space in order to surpass time" "warping time in order to surpass space" Hello?! That is SO cool sounding?!
Plus the black hole/sun comparison!
I love your description of Marx's motivations, his false ones and his real ones! And I've always thought Magolor would be a great RPG shopkeeper! I'm glad someone's going through with that!
Tumblr media
As for shifting the project...
You know, there's nothing wrong with that. Programs like RPG Maker (not sure if you were thinking that or not) are supposed to make it very easy to make an RPG but... that's only an RPG if you're using their resources. I should know, I tried to make one for a different fandom I was in.
I ran out of resources about one town in and found I was spending sooo much time making custom stuff I wasn't progressing on it at all. (And that's ignoring the time spent making custom character sprites/portraits for my party.)
And if it's story-based/has a good story (as I believe it does, based on what you've told me) then you're not losing much by writing it as a fanfic! Just some random battles, and who needs those, right?
...I do wonder about Nintendo take downs though. I've heard they can be brutal, but there's another Kirby RPG project that just came back from the dead and Gamble Galaxy (?) Stories didn't seem to run into any trouble. It's true that would be a really awful way for your project to end though.
(That's partially why, for my own Kirby fan game, I've been thinking I might just work on it entirely in the background. Not doing anything more public than the kind of vague hints I've dropped before.
And then, when it's done, just drop the thing on social media *BAM* and run!! Hope that people circulate the tapes after the ninjas get to me! They may take down The Crazy Idea, but at least the version traded back and forth on secret Discords will be the full version, and not a demo doomed to be forever unfinished!)
Tumblr media
As for your last ask...
God, I would love that! Honestly, I feel like that is a worthy fan-game project all on its own! I don't know how complex it would be, as Chao Garden seems to have stuff in it that people are still figuring out to this day (?) but Chao Garden as a (mini) game really ought to have dozens and dozens of spiritual sequels.
I think what makes it stand out from other "collect cute pets" game like Neko Atsume or that recent bunny island game that just came out IS the interaction element. You can walk around and tour the garden on your own two feet. You're not just collecting adorable PNGs.
But given that Waddle Dees are already shown to have slight color variation in Kirby and the Forgotten Land.. plus Key Dees and Golden Dees... And oh, giving Waddle Dees little animal features!!
Yes, that would be good.
If it's not in the cards for the fandom to make, maybe HAL will grace us with a mini-game similar to that down the line...!\

51st Day: Parallel Paths Prologue
Below is the Cosmology Reconciliation portion that kicks off my Samurai Rabbit / Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles story, "51st Day". My goal was to import the Samurai Rabbit storyline as unchanged as possible by treating Neo Edo like a Japanese equivalent of the Hidden City.
If you're interested in this story - which will include Leo x Yuichi Usagi, Chizu x Kitsune, and more - then please consider checking out 51st Day on AO3!
-----
Approximately two thousand years ago, as human beings became increasingly hostile to the mystical elements of their world, the yōkai of Japan split into two factions - those who could wield supernatural powers and those who could not. The ones who could not were largely comprised of anthropomorphic bipeds; they desired to live much as the humans did, but separate from them. The "true yōkai" rejected their brethren, some even subjugating them as viciously as the humans fought all supernatural creatures. Even within the non-supernatural creatures, more factions emerged; the warm-blooded creatures could largely co-exist in similar fashion, leaving out those who had non-mammalian traits: amphibians, reptiles, birds, insects, fish, and the like. This faction fled Japan entirely, leaving behind a society that successfully shrouded itself from humans yet unsuccessfully hid from the "true yōkai". The faction with non-mammalian traits that fled Japan embedded itself across the globe, but a substantial contingent made the shores of Northeastern America home, and eventually founded the Hidden City beneath what was then simply an island called Manhattoes by the Algonquin Munsee people.
Paralleling the advancement in human technology for a thousand years, this mammal-only anthropomorph society was the one Miyamoto Usagi grew up in, with its own internal strife to be sure, but one that remained prey to the Yōkai as well. This society developed Kaikishi warriors - the only ones among them who could still harness mystical energy - to fight against the Yōkai. The most powerful weapon in this fight was the Ki-Stone, a sentient crystal that served as the Tutelary deity of Neo Edo and its surrounds where the anthropomorphs lived. It empowered ordinary items with the ability to affect damage on and trap Yōkai. It also powered a vast Shimmer border wall that kept the islands of Miyamoto Usagi’s society separate from humanity.
Beyond the Milky Way galaxy, two species vied for control of vast swatches of the universe: the Krang and the Makkine. While the Krang were deadlocked in war with the Triceratons, the Makkine took the opportunity to aim for Earth after successfully conquering the Unu people. Thanks to taking control of the Unu leader, Kagehito, they were able to send him to Earth to prepare their way; he was a pawn whose life did not matter to them if he failed or was slain in the process. His job was to attach their device known as the Clavis to a power source great enough to open a portal big enough to fit the whole Makkine force through. Kagehito found his power-source in the Ki-Stone among Miyamoto Usagi’s people. Kagehito then took the place of their tiger-faced Shogun in order to get close enough to the Ki-Stone to attach the Clavis. The Neko Ninja crew realized that the Shogun was no longer himself, and reached out to Miyamoto Usagi, who accepted a mission to strike down the false Shogun. Just before Kagehito was able to accomplish his task, the samurai rabbit snuck into the palace at night and struck the disguised Unu clean through. As he did so, he pierced the Ki-Stone.
The piercing of the Ki-Stone unleashed a wave of energy that sucked in all Yōkai for miles around, as well as Kagehito. It left behind a smaller chunk of the Ki-Stone, eventually called the Omurasaki by Miyamoto Usagi. While the samurai had succeeded in his quest, and unknowingly halted the Makkine invasion by extension, he would be branded a traitor for the rest of his life. This lead his descendants to take on a quiet, rural life as farmers for the next thousand years.
Meanwhile, a few hundred years after Kagehito and Miyamoto Usagi clashed, the Krang finally broke their stalemate with the Triceratons. They set their sights next on the world that the Makkine had tried and failed to conquer: Earth. In a classic pincer move, they sent down two advance fighters on either sides of the globe - much as the Makkine had with Kagehito - to asses the situation, one near Neo Edo among the human population of Japan and one in the Hidden City of Northeast America. In Japan, this advance force took over many clans of fighters and their livestock, splitting his controlling Krang hivemind ever thinner. At the same time, the one in the Hidden City tried to amalgamate the Yōkai and humans he encountered into his Exosuit, growing to an enormous size, seemingly unconquerable.
The force in Japan finally met its match in four human Mystic warriors, analogs of the Kaikishi warriors, who forged their own weapon: the Key to the Twilight Realm. In unleashing the Key’s power to seal away the Krang, these warriors managed to reach the Krang Titan of the Hidden City, although the magic was far weaker there. While it did suck away the Krang symbiotic flesh of the amalgamated Titan, it left behind bony remnants of his Exosuit and Krang body, as well as his Yōkai-enfused blood, which would come to be known as Empyrean.
As more mundane strife plagued Japan in coming years, one clan sought a supernatural force to ally with in order to achieve victory. The Foot Clan was not powerful enough to breach the Twilight Realm where the Krang were imprisoned, but they were able to communicate through it. Their leader, Oroku Saki, offered to ally with them in exchange for power. The Krang were able to fit a myriad of fragments of an Exosuit through the Foot Clan’s channel, but that was all. The Foot Clan went to work destroying their foes, with every intention of releasing their Krang masters when they subjugated more mystic warriors and thereby found where the Key was hidden. When his daughter realized the "demon" that her father had allied with was not their salvation, but rather a wholly corrupting force, she defected to form her own clan: the Hamato.
The matriarch Karai and her new Hamato clan struggled against the Foot Clan with their powerful mystic arts of Ninpo. When Karai realized it was not enough, she transformed herself into a sword that pierced the veil with the Twilight Realm and locked her father there alongside her in a prison dimension of his own, separate from his Krang masters so that they could not awaken him. Her sacrifice lasted for 500 years.
Seeing how the Hamato released their master Shredder from his imprisonment, the Foot Clan worked to find the ancient Key that would release the Krang. They located the Key, but did not yet possess it, at the same time that Miyamoto Usagi’s descendent, Yuichi Usagi, made his way to Neo Edo on the eve of his 16th birthday. After Yuichi clashed with Kagehito and the Clavis was finally attached to the Ki-Stone, a wave of dimension-weakening energy hit Earth. The Foot Clan knew that now was the time to go after the Key and open the portal for the Krang. They succeeded on the same day that Yuichi Usagi clashed with the Makkine for the second time.
Two pillars of magenta light reached up to the sky, as it had over 500 years ago, paving the way for an invasion of ruthless symbiotes. Two portals were forcibly shut by wrenching their conduits away: the Key and the Clavis both. Two spaceships were destroyed, cleaved through the middle, as the portals closed at the same time. Two malicious forces were stopped in their tracks... by Mutant Teenagers.

Just realized literally all of the main characters of The Usagi Chronicles are orphans. Chizu and Hana, kidnapped from orphanages by the Neko Ninja Crew. Kitsune, a poor orphan thief on the streets, classic Aladdin, slept in a trash can. Usagi, raised by his Auntie, parents mentioned once. Gen and Toshiko, their parents left and their family fell apart. Technically even Kiyoko.

lol literally have been thinking abt making a similar post xD
cuz the thing in the show is that.... Usagi compared to the rest of the cast is quite sheltered! he's been living a relatively quiet life on his family's farm his entire life (as far as we know). This is why every other character is scared of the Neko Ninja and the other crime crews, but Usagi's first reaction is always, a combo of "who?" and some awe at their weapons or abilities. In the case of the ninja, it's as you said - he is just very in awe of the fact that he gets to meet real ninja like in his great-ancestor's stories hahaha xD
I believe the stereotype of Usagi hating all ninja comes from the 03 series, where it's a bit more pronounced and gets even more exaggerated in fanworks. (which is fine, i get it, it's a very nostalgic TMNT series for many)
This Usagi is not actually yokai hunter Usagi either (even if yokai hunting Miyamoto Usagi is mentioned by him many times), he would be so excited to meet more ninja and yokai and that would be cool to see in more fanworks x3 he doesn't even have a particularly fearful opinion of the neko ninja after the first s1 tussle with them, so it's a bit funny to see so many fan-versions of him borrow from 03 usagi just for the sake of an empty conflict. Now CHIZU. Chizu might distrust other ninja, just because of how sheltered her life was in a different way. given a good reason she might even warn her friends again, but then again, she's a bit more level-headed than the other characters in certain situations, so perhaps not
one of my biggest icks with ooc usagi is where they characterise him as hating ninja. bro he was the only one Not mad at chizu when they found out she was a ninja. literally he was like “yeah we’re *checks his friends expressions* totally mad with you…. mhm” (another example of him being neurodivergent coded) he does not give a damn about titles as long as you’re a good person. the whole world could be saying that leo is bad news and usagi would stand his ground and say no, tbh i think thats sweeter. and my man is so shounen protag adjacent, hed say something like he just knows in his heart that leo is good

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another one of Chizu's peers/one of the last four remaining with her
She's based off the Korat cat breed, her design is partially based off of Tomoe Ame's evil half-sister/cousin in the comics
I hc her to be the neko ninja that puts on the pony head when Kitsune brings the merch and mochi around, she's a little sillay ;3€
Anyway 'nother poll because choosing color palettes is hard guys
Also pls look in the reblogs of this post and my Hanna design and Siamese Neko Ninja post because the reblogs have the Name Polls and I need help choosing names as well. I've narrowed it down to 3 options each!

More somewhat scattered thoughts about my beloved samurai family - In general, they are a reflection of the Straw Hat crew of sorts, one who lost their Luffy. Though they held strong in spite of the overwhelming odds they faced and were able to regroup for the sake of liberating Wano from Kaido.
Each of them have been in a leadership role or top position, in some way or another, at some point in their lives.
Kin'emon - Founding member of the alliance and Momo's father figure.
Denjiro - Boss of the Yakuza and of a district in the Flower Capital. One of Hiyori's father figures.
Izo - Division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates. Took care of Kiku on his own for a time, when the two were very young.
Kiku - Does teahouse poster girl count as a top position? I didn't see anyone else doing it. The most beautiful woman at heart. Also guided groups around Wano to where they needed to be during Acts One and Two.
Raizo - One of Wano’s best ninja.
Ashura Doji - Leader of the Atamayama mountain bandits.
Inu & Neko - Ruled Zou and are founding members of the alliance.
Kawamatsu - Holds/held the title of Yokozuna, the top sumo wrestler in Wano. One of Hiyori's father figures.
More detailed thoughts:
Kin'emon & Kiku - Attempting to reverse engineer some of their scenes. Kin'emon allowed Shinobu to escape from Onigashima with Momo, Shinobu showing she understands what Usopp would say to Kin and Kiku in chapter 1036. Kin then lived and motivated himself to find help for Kiku. I think they both needed to be hurt/in a position where they would ask Usopp to leave them, for the sake his big moment of calling out a negative part of the samurai mindset that had them being too eager to give up on life.
For Kin specifically - In a flashback near the end of the arc, Kin said. "To disregard a woman's decision that she gathered all of her courage to make does nothing but shame her." I think both he and Kiku knew what the result of re-matching the traitor would be, but they are both samurai who are very very stubborn. A bad situation all around and again, that’s why what Usopp shouted to them in 1036 is so important.
For Kiku specifically - She is forced to confront her sentimentality, the fact that the past can not be returned to, and that if she continues following the way of the samurai, being a way that is very in conflict with some of her own desires, it will only continue to harm her.
Izo - So stylish, so cool. Went with Marco to return a favor to his homeland, and to his first found family. Kiku is his younger sister, of course he would do anything he could to ensure she lives, especially after losing a younger sibling during the Marineford war. I see CP0 during the Onigashima war as being almost representative of the WG, just on a smaller scale. Izo killing one of the agents represents a step towards the WG's downfall, while it's unfortunately not so easy, the dominos have begun falling, in large part thanks to Izo. Post-Wano is the Straw Hat’s and friend’s time to continue what he started.
Denjiro - A classic One Piece badass with a goofy side, also blue. I like his story being mostly separate from the Straw Hats. Forcing every major character to interact with the main cast when it’s not needed could easily lead to awkward storytelling. Same can be said of the stories of other Wano characters as well, mainly Hiyori, Kawamatsu, and Ashura, to varying degrees.
Raizo - Extinguishing the flames of the castle is his way of not allowing a repeat of Oden Castle burning, and of repaying the Mink's for protecting him during Zou.
Ashura Doji - Most reliable of the group when it comes down to it. Easily able to see past any nonsense and recognize situations for what they really are. His joining Oden is one of my favorite recruitments of the group.
Inu - Fought Jack not out of revenge, but to keep him from creating more victims. Which I like for how it suggests he doesn't see the harm he and Zou underwent protecting a comrade as a defeat. Because they did protect Raizo.
Neko - Did fight Perospero for the sake of getting revenge. Independently of anything to do with the Kozuki clan, the Big Mom Pirates caused a lot of grief to the Minks in years past, during Whole Cake, and to Wanda and Carrot soon before Neko arrived. I like revenge being the motivation for Neko in this case.
Kawamatsu - Best Kappa. I would have liked to see him get a bit more individual spotlight and scenes with Hiyori, though the Beast Pirates who ran Udon Prison were his main tormentors, so seeing him beat them up a bunch was very cathartic. I absolutely adore his scenes with Onimaru and him being best Kappa dad to Hiyori.

random Usagi Chronicles tid-bits (I'll add more as i remember):
as mentioned in my previous timeline post, Neo Edo is a futuristic Edo-inspired city, powered by a mythical/sciency Ki-Stone
the city lights seem to kep on at all times (purple/purplish, like the Ki-Stone)
there are flying cars, refridgerators with AI, vending machines
hover cars, TRON-esque racing games, robots for different tasks
cameras, modern surgery....
no phones (sdfsdfsd sorry i just thought that was funny)
I'm guessing they just don't need phones cuz everyone lives in the city (and we haven't seen any other cities yet)
Usagi's the first rabbit Gen has seen in the city
Usagi and Kiyoko have the same bday (in the first ep)
Usagi states he is almost 16 in the opening scene of the show (and that's why he should be allowed to the city)
Usagi is 16 and definitely acts like a teen seeing a city for the first time
he sees a newsbotto and says "I've heard of these before"
Usagi plays in an arcade for the first time
Spot has never seen bubbles before that ep in s2 where Usagi buys him a bubble-blower
Usagi has a very low attention span (getting distracted by anything new, i.e. streets, games, food, signs)
Even though it's modern, the show still bases itself in many traditional japanese elements
i.e. - kimono and other similar clothes are worn left over right side
traditional japanese games are still popular in Neo Edo
edo-style japanese buildings still exist, even with modern additives
the show has a nice subtle message about letting nature rest from the city (turning off the lights eg light pollution)
Kitzune and Chizu are both orphans
apparently, so is Toshiko sort of (Gen's twin? sibling) who left for a life in the circus and other things before re-uniting with Gen during the 3rd ep of season 1
Gen and Toshiko separated as children after their parents and family were chased out of town due to fear
You can see Gen and Toshiko playing with a Gen and Tomoe Ame figures in their flashback in s1, the characters who Gen and Chizu are based from og Yojimbo series.
Gen is a germaphobe;
He spends a lot of time at the hospital, for stuff where he's just worried about something and thinks he has a symptom for;
at the same time, it seems he is just as much there to see the the Shiba-inu doctors, who raised him after his family fell apart (s1 e6)
Gen is also arachnophobic (he seems to be scared of most bugs, but is maybe semi-okay with crickets(s2 e5))
Kitsune grew up in the streets (I assume) while Chizu grew up in the Neko Ninja crew, a childhood without friends or any normalcy
farm boy Usagi absolutely hates farming
Tetsujin and Lady Fuwa used to date (for Fuwa, mostly to get the Ki-Stone scroll, which Tetsujin planted only because he knew - so neither was really dating for real?)
Usagi is pretty skilled with a sword, but sort of like an unrefined gem bc of his brashness and dis-respect.
Karasu-Tengu said the yo-yo is the only interesting thing about him but he's not very good with it yet
(edit nov 22) Auntie trained Usagi "for years" in the sword and other stuff
Auntie is a war veteran as seen by multiple elements in the show hinting at it - her ear and leg prosthetics, her experience with the sword (training Usagi enough that he has some raw skill), her words at Usagi ("the greatest master needs their sword the least"), her fight with Lady Fuwa
(OG post continued from Oct 25th)
Usagi is a nerd for Yokai and all things samurai and that's one reason he's still pretty good at fighting+knows enough info to help the team
that's all for now but sdfsdf hope to add more as I remember stuff
edit for nov 22nd (og post from Oct 25th):
On rewatch I also noticed that Chizu's left ear with the tear in it looks a bit like it could be from ear rings being torn out. I noticed this based on art director Khang Le's concept art, where Chizu has a white streak in her hair and also earrings) this could be anything though, as this is a common injury on real-life cats and she also has it in her first flashback scene (s1 e4)
Usagi is actually pretty good at noticing small details/bigger picture stuff, also at fight coordination. I noticed the first time but even moreso on rewatches:
1st ep he notices a small crevice/hole in the mogura tunnel's ceiling where he jammed his sword to create a small tunnel slide to escape the mogura gang
for the s1 finale, he has trained more with Karasu-Tengu, but when fighting in the dark with the Bat Crew later on, he followed Chikabuma's instructions on fight moves flawlessly, based on nothing more than the latter quickly throwing out what to do in an exact way
he seems to come up with battle-saving plans a lot, and doesn't even boost his ego with that knowledge
Usagi is probably really proficient at picking up other weapons too! He briefly fights and doesn't actually take that much time to take a liking to his yoyo. On that note....
Usagi's yoyo has saved him/been useful on more than one occasion, not just as a weapon
he can block attacks via the chain/string of the yoyo
it can sense Yokai
when Usagi used it to spiderman out of a fight, then to stop a warbotto from rampaging by tripping it via the chain
saved Kagehito from disappearing by putting him back in the Ki-Stone to recuperate
I'm sure I'm forgetting something else here
when Usagi and Kagehito went into a coma and almost got stuck in the prison orb at the tail end of s2
it's gotten broken once (the string/chain was broken at the end of s1) and Usagi is heartbroken over it (+ disappointed at himself)
Gave Usagi the access to the Ki-Stone's extra power boost, letting Usagi ascend the heavens and transform into a giant samurai-armored spirit-version of himself (think, like the susanoo avatar in Naruto, or like a spirit-mech)
the Ki-Stone can repair and give out new Kaikishi weapons
at the start of s2, it chooses Gen, Kitsune and Chizu as it's new Kaikishi warriors (closing the door on a comically sad-about-it Usagi, who still wanted a 2nd sword)
we haven't seen yet what the other Kaikishi weapons special abilities are (Usagi's yoyo is so far the only one able to capture and control/move the various Yokai in the series)
all of the mystic weapons can still interact with ghosts/apparitions, so that's probably why the team is careful not to hit Tetsujin with them while fights happen in the temple
possibly the secondary abilities are the secondary weapon transformations and abilities they show in some of the new episodes:
Kitsune can summon her tessen at will, not having to carry them
Gen change the size and form of his war clubs by merging them into one big kanabo
Chizu's bow is collapsible and she can shoot fire arrows and homing arrows with them (it seems she can materialize whatever arrow she needs at a moment)
The Ki-Stone couldn't have held in the Yokai for more than it did, so it was actually good that Usagi accidentally released all the Yokai (s2 e7, "Willow Branch", stated by O-Dokuro)
little visual references like this (prob not og Kitsune?)

Kitsune's little sister Kiyoko is not so little in this animated adaptation (in the comics she is a smaller fox, in this series she is a big robot)
Gen's sister Toshiko doesn't like visiting the hospital, but does like hiding out at the arcade toilets for some reason
it's unknown what happened to the criminal that Gen was bounty-hunting in the first episode, but in a later s1 episode, he is seen laughing and clapping with the rest of the crowd, but is then approached menacingly by the Shiba-Inu doctors (this is bothering me to no end bc I can't seem to get the inside joke, that might be a cultural difference? I guess we'll never know)
For an apparition on "another plane of existence" (we know you're a ghost Tetsujin), Tetsujin is pretty good at building all sorts of mechanical stuff
Tetsuji also made the prosthetic horn gen receives in ep 4 and we can assume that builds the rest of his horns too.
I'll post more as I rewatch the series :D (end edit 22.11.2022)

mutton dressed up as lamb to the slaughter: chapter 1022 spoilers
Okay, you’re all there and all hyped for the KidLaw moment, right?
Tumblr media
Remember, if anyone knows about Hawkins’ use of the lives of crew members to gain advantage, it’s Law. I hope we get to see the two of them against Big Mom.
And if KidLaw’s not your thing, then don’t forget about KidKil:
Tumblr media
Hawkins’ a real right bastard, innit he?
Tumblr media
And really, no flippant commentary is replete without a sketchy shot of the heart pirates and Luffy in his prime:
Tumblr media
Caribou’s in despair at his own personal internal famine.
Marco’s exactly how I imagine him.
Tumblr media
Well, not here, but how about
Tumblr media
Here?
And
Tumblr media
Here?
And
Tumblr media
Here? Totally his own man (and suited to Law, heh-heh. That’s an aside. You don’t have to disagree with me).
Now, I’ve been reading a few violent manga lately and it’d be good if they all treated their heroes a little like this at times (see below):
Tumblr media
Like, how ignominious, right? To be carried around like one of Big Mom’s tampons, hybrid design: it’s got wings, ha-ha (don’t think about the design or application too much, but it could be like one of those corkscrews with arms).
But, never fear, Zoro’s ultimate sacrificial moment is almost among us. Marco’s fire is out. King’s Fire is Lit. Sanji’s fire is on fire!
Tumblr media
Last one’s Sanji Marco against King, if you haven’t figured it out ( I obviously hadn’t figured it out. Then he takes a rest. Wicked move!). Sorry for the crop (Oda’s diagonal frames).
And that brings us to bringing mutton dressed up as lamb to the slaughter.
Tumblr media
Let’s hope the official translation remains the same or my joke’s not gonna work (yes, yes, I know it’s struggling now). Let’s not forget that a nabe (hot pot) dish in Hokkaido that contains mutton is called Genghis Khan (a truly fearsome warrior) mainly because a lot of sheep were herded in Mongolia (?). Really, the connection is pretty tenuous, BUT anyway. It leads us to what will be the most uploaded image this week and into infinity, I think:
Tumblr media
And don’t forget this comment:
Tumblr media
And also, smack talk by Perospero about Sanji being a Germa defect, and putting the Charlotte family in the unenviable position of allying with the Beast Pirates because he didn’t marry Pudding (not quite sure what the logic is there. Mama’s rampage I guess).
Raizo is fighting his former ninja comrade, Fukurokuju, from the Orochi Oniwabanshu and Nekomamushi has gone after Perospero.
So, do we have six scabbards down and all of the tobi roppo? (even stevens). Raizo, Inu and Neko are all still standing, right, if we include Kanjuro among the scabbards. How about Denjiro? Kawamatsu went down, didn’t he? That’s four, perhaps. I have to reread. Where’s Izou? Or where’s he going?
Tumblr media
Anyway, it’s the Strawhats’ time to shine (or Sanji and Zoro’s, and maybe Chopper’s).

Shiruku Neko, the “Silk One”, Cat Ninja:
What she’s from: Pirate101.
What she might be in: Pirate101 Fan Fictions.
Background:
From the foggy streets of Marleybone to the forbidding skyways of Mooshu, the journey of Shiruku Neko, known in Mooshu legends as “The Silk One”, is steeped in shadow and intrigue.
Stolen from her family in childhood, Shiruku Neko was raised by the Shadow Clan of Mooshu, a deadly cult of Ninja Pigs dedicated to the worship of chaos and the dark lord Hamakala.
Her path to becoming the most deadly assassin in the Spiral seemed inescapable… until her last target, the blind goat and last member of the Cowlin monks, Branch, defeated her, and showed her compassion, instead of hate.
The hardened ninja warrior began to doubt everything she had previously believed in, and with compassion and patience, Branch turned her to the light, and Shiruku Neko grew to care for and even love her new guardian, who taught her the way of Cowlin.
Thanks to Branch (and the timely assistance of the crew of the Santa Oro), Shiruku Neko was able to destroy the Shadow Clan.
Since then, she has traveled the Skyways with Captain Evan Ironside (the captain of the Santa Oro) to discover the secret of her origins.
When the crew of the Skyfarer (formerly the Santa Oro) arrived in the Eagle Colonies/Eagalia, she immediately became drawn to the locals’ fight for independence (Eagalia is based on Revolution-era America)…
How she is like me: Like me, she can sometimes be a little impatient, and we are both very strong (in her case, on the inside). We also have good hearts. I try to remain patient and practice patience with the aid of various calming strategies. Also, I show my good heart by being nice and helping others. My impatience is mainly shown in my habit of having trouble understanding the concept of time. Also, when I get frustrated and upset, I often turn to anger. She searches for her origins, to find out more about her past. I seek stuff about my parents to help me behave.

Kitsune is the Japanese word for fox. Foxes are a common subject of Japanese folklore; in English, kitsune refers to them in this context. Stories depict them as intelligent beings and as possessing magical abilities that increase with their age and wisdom. https://ift.tt/18IgWDJ The maneki-neko (Japanese, literally "beckoning cat") is a common Japanese figurine which is believed to bring good luck to the owner. The figurine depicts a cat beckoning with an upright paw, and is usually displayed in shops, restaurants, pachinko parlors, and other businesses. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maneki-neko\ ~Music Credits~ "Sneaky Snitch" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 https://ift.tt/15faYU2...
