This is the only thing Iā€™m going to say on the matter of Neil Gaiman for now:
The accusations against him are awful. If they are true, I wish the victims nothing but the best. I am not going to speculate about whether or not theyā€™re true, because that would be incredibly disrespectful. What I am going to do is wait until we have more information before saying anything definitive. Because from my understanding (and correct me if iā€™m wrong,) this information is coming from a single true crime podcast that almost no one has actually listened to in full, and that does not seem like an incredibly reliable source of information. I am not defending Neil in any way here, but I do think itā€™s important to always take the time to gather information from multiple sources, *especially* with something as serious as this.
Also, if youā€™re one of the people going ā€œoh no what does this mean for Good Omens season 3??ā€ Literally shut the fuck up, put your phone down, and go outside. That is not even remotely important right now and itā€™s an incredibly insensitive and tone-deaf thing to say.
EDIT 8/2/24 (Because Tumblr decided this should be the top post on my page.) There are now several people who have listened to the podcasts in full and publicly posted all the info from them. Iā€™d encourage everyone to read at least one of those posts (preferably more than one, everyone is biased in one way or another) and make up your mind from there, not from the hundreds of posts paraphrasing and doing the whole ā€œwell I heard from this person who heard from this person who heard from this personā€ thing. Also, while I havenā€™t looked into this much myself, Iā€™ve heard other people are coming forward with accusations against him.

ā€œOkayā€” jesusā€¦ā€ Neil struggled to hold you up as you stumbled into your house. ā€œBe careful.ā€Ā
ā€œCouch.ā€ You ordered, the word coming out a little slurred because of all the alcohol. You brought him to a party that your boyfriend invited you to. When the bastard decided he wanted to stay longer and enjoy the party, Neil offered to drive you home.Ā
ā€œAlmost there.ā€ He chuckled, helping you to the living room and gently setting you on the couch. ā€œAre you sure you donā€™t want to go to your bed to sleep?ā€ You shook your head with a small smile, your eyes barely able to stay open. ā€œOkayā€¦ Call me when you wake up, alright?ā€ When you heard his footsteps, you whined and grabbed his hand.Ā
ā€œNo. Stay.ā€ He looked around awkwardly, making you pout. ā€œPlease?ā€ After very little debate, he sat down next to you on the couch. ā€œMmā€¦ youā€™re the best.ā€ You mumbled, practically grinning. He sighed quietly when you wrapped your arms around his shoulders and rested your head on him, knowing he was going to be here a while. Trying not to jostle you too much, he relaxed back into the couch in a more comfortable position.Ā
When you suddenly laid down with your head on his stomach, his body went completely stiff. His gaze shifted to your face, taking in the way your hair was a little messy and sprawled out over your cheek, then it moved down your body. You curled up on your side to get more comfortable and the motion had your bodycon dress riding up your legs, exposing even more of you.Ā
You never used to dress like this when you were younger. Whenever you and Neil would go to a party, your dress would be long enough to safely cover your ass, but still reveal enough of your thighs to be appropriate for the occasion. It also wouldnā€™t be skin tight. But ever since youā€™ve been dating that douche bag, youā€™ve started to dress more provocatively. He canā€™t exactly complain because he definitely enjoys seeing you in clothes like thisā€¦ He just wishes you were dressing this way for him.Ā
He cursed under his breath and closed his eyes when his cock twitched in his pants. Now is not the time to get hardā€¦ Isnā€™t it though? You were basically passed out, you wouldn't knowā€¦
ā€œAre you awake?ā€ He whispered. When he got no response, he carefully reached for his pants and began opening them to free his cock. You didnā€™t stir as he started stroking slowly, trying not to move too much. He could just barely feel your panting breaths against his cock and he ached to know how warm and wet your mouth would feel around him.Ā
Getting bolder, he rubbed the head on your lips, smearing precum over the faded lipstick. Everything about you was just so perfect and so fucking hot. He could barely take it.Ā
ā€œJake?ā€ You mumbled, trying to turn your head to look up at him, but he gently pushed you back so you were only looking at his cock. You thought he was your boyfriend? Even though that kind of upset himā€¦ he knew heā€™d feel better about it soon.Ā
ā€œYeah, itā€™s me.ā€ He whispered and you hummed in acknowledgment. ā€œOpen your mouth, baby.ā€ Your lips parted lazily and he pushed his length in, trying not to moan too loud at the feeling. Even though you were half asleep, you were mouthing at the tip of his cock and flicking your tongue over it. ā€œGood girlā€¦ā€ He groaned quietly.Ā
ā€œSuck it, baby. Come on.ā€ He encouraged, making you whine, but start bobbing your head a little. ā€œFuckā€¦ā€ He hissed, letting go of his cock to let you do the work, wondering if youā€™re always this easyā€¦
Wanting more, he slowly dragged his hand down your side, from your waist, past your hip, all the way to your bare thigh. When his hand went back up, he took the fabric of your dress with it, pulling until it was bunched around your stomach. His hips flinched up at the sight of your lacy thong, making you choke a little.Ā
ā€œGod- youā€™re so fucking hot.ā€ He moaned, quickly reaching up to pull your dress down below your tits to expose the matching bra. He could only see some of it because of the angle you were at, but it still drove him wild.Ā
You whined and started pulling off, but he quickly placed a hand on your head and pushed you back down. ā€œNo..ā€ You tried to say, voice coming out muffled around his cock.Ā
ā€œShhā€¦ take it, baby. Itā€™s Jake, remember?ā€ Getting too desperate, he started pushing you down repeatedly, slowly fucking your mouth until you were choking and sputtering. ā€œIā€™m so close.. Just a little longer.ā€ He said through a breath, moving you a little faster now. With one hand on your head, he moved the other down to grope your tits through the lace bra, forcing a muffled sound from you.Ā
ā€œSo fucking sexyā€” oh my god. And this assā€¦ā€ He groaned, moving his hand down to squeeze your ass instead. He spanked you teasingly, making you whimper around his cock. ā€œTake it bitch.ā€ He spanked you again even harder and moaned at the way your muffled sounds made your mouth just barely vibrate around his cock.Ā
ā€œSuch a fucking tease wearing this dressā€¦ laying down with your face on my cock, just begging me to fuck your mouth. I bet this cunt is soaked too.ā€ He snickered, reaching around to the front of your body and cupping your heat, cursing loudly when he felt the wet patch on your panties. ā€œYouā€™re a real whore, arenā€™t you? Are you gonna swallow all my come like a good little slut?ā€ His voice was getting progressively breathier as he neared his orgasm.Ā
ā€œā€¦Or should I come in your cunt instead?ā€ He chuckled, hand slowing to a stop, keeping you pressed down with your lips almost at the base. You choked and whimpered as he thought about it, but it didnā€™t take much convincing.Ā
He pulled you off of him, then stood up and pushed you down into the couch on your stomach. Once you were positioned the way he wanted, he quickly mounted you and slipped your panties to the side. When you groaned quietly and tried to turn around to see what was happening, he put his hand on the back of your head and shoved your face into the cushion, holding you there. He didnā€™t waste anymore time lining up and pushing forward.Ā
You let out a strangled whimper when he finally breached your entrance, forcing his cock all the way in your tight little cunt. He moaned loudly, trying to stave off his orgasm so he could at least have a chance to fuck you.Ā
ā€œOh my godā€¦ā€ He whined, leaning over your body and laying down on top of you before releasing your head. ā€œSo fucking tight.. Does your boyfriend not satisfy you?ā€ He cooed mockingly. ā€œIs that why your cunt feels brand new?ā€ He started bucking his hips, keeping his thrusts deep.Ā
ā€œLet me feel these tits.ā€ He said through a breath, then lifted you up a little so he could pull your bra down and grope your bare tits, making you whine. He rolled your nipples between his fingers, pinching and pulling teasingly. ā€œFucking perfect.ā€ He hissed, letting his head drop down on your shoulder. He inhaled deeply, feeling his cock twitch at the scent of your hair and your faint perfume. You moaned quietly and just barely started to squirm, making him shush you and use more of his body weight to pin you down.Ā
ā€œW-whatā€¦ā€ You could barely even speak, but he still moved one hand up to cover your mouth, not wanting to hear you protest. When he sped up and got a little rougher, you were grunting and whimpering behind his hand each time his cock plunged deep in your little pussy.Ā
ā€œGood girl... Take my fucking cock, bitch. I deserve to fuck this cunt after putting up with your teasing for so long.ā€ He hissed bitterly. Youā€™ve been friends for years now and heā€™s so fucking sick of jerking off just to the thought of you.Ā
You mewled and tried pulling his hand away from your face, but he wouldnā€™t budge. He started fucking you faster, pounding your abused hole, only caring about his impending orgasm.Ā
ā€œI might have to get you shit faced more often.ā€ He chuckled. The best part about all of this is probably the fact that you wonā€™t even remember any of it. If you did, youā€™d just think it was a dream since your best friendā€” the guy you trust more than everyone elseā€” would never do something like thisā€¦
ā€œAm I gonna be the first guy to breed this little pussy?ā€ He knows you always make boyfriends and hookups wear condoms, youā€™ve told him that before. You were probably just saving yourself for himā€¦Ā
By now your hand fell back down to the couch, giving up on trying to pull him away. The only sign that you were even conscious were the little grunts being forced out of you with each thrust. Next time, heā€™ll have to do this in the dark so he can suck on your tits and maybe even kiss youā€” youā€™re probably such a good kisser. Your lips are always so pink and softā€¦ always so pretty.
ā€œFuckā€¦ Iā€™m gonna come.ā€ He choked out, releasing your mouth to wrap his arms around your upper body, hugging you tightly so you couldnā€™t escape, even though his body weight was doing a good enough job at that already. ā€œAnd youā€™re gonna take it, bitch.ā€ He growled against your ear. You whimpered quietly and your body was rocking with the force of his thrustsā€” everything about you was bringing him closer to release.Ā
ā€œReady, baby? Ready for my come?ā€ He breathed, hips bucking into you frantically as he neared the edge, then finally fell over it. He groaned loudly and forced his cock all the way in, pressing firmly against your cervix. You whined in discomfort and squirmed a little, but his hold on you got even tighter. He was grunting and moaning next to your ear, his cock twitching with each rope of come that shot out from his cock. ā€œStupid fucking slut.ā€ His hips snapped into you to punctuate the insult, forcing a pained whimper from you. ā€œTake it. Take my fucking come in this needy little pussy.ā€ He groaned, feeling his orgasm start to fade.Ā Ā
ā€œFuckā€¦ā€ He breathed, only relaxing his hold on you once his cock stopped twitching. ā€œKeep being a tease and weā€™re gonna do this again.ā€ He warned, but you didnā€™t respond or make any indication that you heard or understood him.Ā
Letting out a heavy breath, he finally stopped panting, then pulled your bra and dress back into place before leaning up on his knees. You laid completely limp underneath him, even as he spread your ass cheeks apart and dragged his cock out. He shuffled back a little, then leaned down so he could watch his come trickle out of your gaping hole. He pushed it back in with his fingers and cursed under his breath, then fixed your underwear and stuffed his cock back in his pants.Ā
Once all other evidence of this besides his come was gone, he stood up and looked down at you with a small smirk. He didnā€™t know it was possible for someone to look so peaceful after being fucked like a cheap whore, but youā€™ve always been an enigma to him.Ā

AA Prosecutors ranked on how likely they are to bite someone
Edgeworth: Even at his worst, his idea of combat is to send people to a chess dimension and yell at them. Heā€™s not gonna bite anyone and would probably be revolted by the mere idea of it. 0/10
Franziska: She uses a whip in court and I have full confidence itā€™s the only thing stopping her from attacking people. It would not surprise me if Edgeworth has a scar on his arm from when he pissed off toddler Franziska a little too much and she went for the kill immediately. 8/10
Manfred: ā€¦ If pressed? Probably. He wouldnā€™t like it but he would do it. 6/10
Godot: If he could figure out a situation in which taking a little nibble would lead to a psychological advantage in court I have zero doubt in my mind he would take it. Also he would bite Phoenix just cuz. 7/10
Klavier: I donā€™t have a safe for work response to this question. 5/10
Simon: He was in prison for 7 years, he has definitely bitten and been bitten before. Would do it if pressed but I feel like he would prefer not to. 4/10
Nahyuta: He acts like he wouldnā€™t but if curious enough about it he would do it no hesitation. Datz would encourage it. 9/10
Blaise: Whether or not he would, Iā€™m giving him a high score because I think the bacteria from his beard could give you gangrene. 10/10
Sebastian: His reaction to any and all stressful scenarios is crying I donā€™t think there is a situation in which you can get him to bite someone. But maybe Iā€™m missing something. 1/10
Byrne: In situations of grave danger maybe but honestly heā€™s just trying to steal and be a dad I donā€™t think he would need to. 3/10
Garan: Has definitely bitten her sister on multiple occasions when they were children and would do it again if she could get away with it. 7/10
Winston: No and he would be so mortified by the question he would probably call HR. 0/10
Gaspen: Yes. 10/10
Jacques: Heā€™s an athlete. You know how locker rooms are. 8/10
Lana: I donā€™t have an unbiased answer to this. ?/10
Neil: Heā€™s a cowboy and had a brother he has zero qualms about chomping when necessary. Doesnā€™t have much of a reason for it but would not hesitate. 6/10

Why I think Todd is bi
Tumblr media
I think he would cling to whoever pays more attention to him (yes, I am implying that heā€™s an attention whore, sue me)
In the movie it happens to be Neil, but if there was anyone, boy, girl or anything, everything or nothing in between that gave him more love, he would be in deep, like it or not
Heā€™s touch starved through and through
So, I shall like to present you with some headcanons or whatever about Todd being a simp
If you were to encourage him in his writings, tell him that heā€™s is talented, his eyes would glaze over and pouty
If you made any sort of positive comment about his physical appearance, he would melt. Ex: if you were to tell him that he was pretty, he would go tomato red so fast. And then if you were to tell him that was even prettier when he blushes, he would he even redder, shy, all hot and bothered. He wouldnā€™t stop thinking about it for weeks, but he would also avoid you at all cost.
If you were to touch him in any comforting way, he would lean into it so much he would trip over himself, would be embarrassed about it, to which you would comfort him further and even more physically, like hug him tighter and he would blush with his face so hot you would feel it through multiple layers of fabric
I feel like he would enjoy skin to skin contact would make him feel over the moon, even in the most innocent ways. Holding hands or caressing his cheek would have him stuttering and mumbling incoherently
And donā€™t even get me started on playing with his hair. As soon as you run your fingers through hair he would sigh and nearly whimper is heā€™s stressed. If you have long nails and graze them on his scalp his eyes would roll back into his skull, and he might even feel like he could pass out cold
On now letā€™s get on with kisses. If you were to do something as simple as tenderly kissing his cheek, or forehead, or temple he would feel like his heart would burst. If you peppered his face with little kisses he would let out the most delightful giggles, he would fight it at first but would eventually give in, obviously blushing profusely
If you actually kissed his lips, cupping his face, holding him gently, he would be putty on your hands. He wouldnā€™t want to even let go of you afterwards, definitely too dizzy to stand on his own
Now if you put it all together, the touches, the embrace, the kisses, the tenderness, well, letā€™s just say heā€™d need to lay down. And if you did all of this before or more than anyone else, heā€™d be wrapped around your finger, forever. Insanely head over heels for you.
Now, I think Neil must have done, some if not all of those thing throughout the movie. But this are the reasons why I think he would definitely fall in love regardless of gender, hence making him bi, but thatā€™s just my opinion.

Can You Hear The Music?
I apologise for the cheap title grab, but I was out of ideas! Some preferences for how some of the boys would react to having a musician as a partner, Iā€™m a violinist so this is kind of based around my experiences. Anyway, enjoy!!
Warnings: Consumption of alcohol, I didnt proofread this, sorry!
Tumblr media
Tommy Shelby:
He would almost certainly be there to support you. The only thing that would stop him would be if there was some really urgent business he needed to attend to. He would be there, probably sat on the front row so that he had the best view of you that he possible could. Heā€™d turn up after the performance and insist on carrying all of your bags for you, case and all, with a bouquet of roses like an absolute sop. He wouldnā€™t have a musical bone in his body, so the fact that his partner did never ceased to amaze him and would make him the proudest man on earth. Heā€™d always comment on how brave he thought you were, even though he was the one that actually went out fighting in France.
Neil Lewis:
The first time he heard you play was when you were practicing, thinking that you were in the house alone. Since then, he had taken to sending random bits of film music on YouTube your way asking if you could play it. Heā€™d drop anything to come along to your concerts, heā€™d always be sat there with a stupid smile on his face and heā€™d tell anyone that was with him that you were his. Heā€™d be your biggest support and would always rave over you once you came off the stage. I feel like he would end up with a tradition of dragging you back to the video-store and making you watch ā€˜The Red Violinā€™ or something after, probably with a couple of beers, to celebrate.
Robert Fischer:
If you were with this man then there is no doubt that he would have gifted you an instrument worth many thousands of pounds as soon as he saw that you were serious about your music. There would be a rack of designer black dresses and matching heels in your wardrobe as he would insist that you needed a new one for each concert. On the evening he would definitely be there, heā€™d send flowers ahead of him and you would have to go through the embarrassment of his driver delivering them to your door. Heā€™d probably sit somewhere random in the middle of the crowd so that he didnā€™t distract you or take any attention away from you if anyone spotted him - heā€™d be quite conspicuous in a perfect suit having come straight from work. Afterwards he would insist on celebrating, heā€™d arrange for a car to take you out and there would be a bottle of MoĆ«t and a platter of oysters waiting for when you arrived at the bar.
Oppie:
Performing in front of this man would be absolutely terrifying - he isnā€™t remotely musical but he listens to a lot of classical so he will know if you go wrong. I see him as that annoying person that likes to sit around and watch you practice and gives you irritating pointers when he thinks you are wrong despite having never picked your instrument up before. Even so, he would still be there whenever he could to watch you in concerts. A lot of his friends were musical so you ended up forming little groups with them, especially his brother Frank who was good enough to be a professional on the flute. It would become a fixture that you would get together for informal concerts at the university and then go back to Robertā€™s for martinis. He was never one to dish out much praise, but he always made sure that he knew he was proud of you when he saw you after a concert. Youā€™d also find the odd piece of fresh sheet music left on your stand when he found something that he thought you would like to play.
Jim (The Delinquent Season):
He would absolutely adore having a musical partner, heā€™d probably play a bit of piano and guitar himself. He loved to spend an evening mucking about with some fold music together with a glass of wine. Rather than playing classical music like you were more used to Jim would probably have encouraged you to take up some folk music as you were in Ireland. Once a month or so you would try and make it to a folk evening at a local pub, taking your instruments with you. This was your favourite type of performing - informal and relaxed and surrounded by friends with him by your side.

Who do you think is better suited for dating Morpheus: Johanna or Hob?
Lol controversial ask! Jokes. I am guessing this came off the back of my response to the Calliope post the other week where I mentioned that I am loosely a Dreamling shipper but lean more towards Morphanna currently. I guess I need to specify that it very much depends on my mood because I am a Sandman multishipper at heart but feel different ships serve different purposes regarding Dream. I struggle to stretch them beyond the purposes I have set aside for them. Also it's Dreamling week and so one look at my blog would definitely give the assumption that I am a huge Dreamling shipper but that isn't actually the case. What I am is a Morpheus stan and everything else is peripheral to my focus on him and his story.
But sure lets dig into this. Honest answer? Neither because Morpheus is terrible and his track record alone is enough proof that he should never date anyone ever.
(jokes)
If we want to be sticklers for comic canon here, neither is suited because there are particular blockers in place for both ships.
For Morphanna the blocker is the rule that states that an Endless can not love a mortal. We have the Nada situation to show us what happens when they do. (Sun gets big mad and throws fireballs at the Earth)
For Dreamling the blocker is less carved into stone but its still gonna be a biggy for certain readers/audiences, being that Morpheus is not gay/bi/pan/queer whatever you wanna call him. For all intents and purposes in comic canon he's as straight as a ruler. However whilst we only ever see Morpheus's lovers as powerful, confident, beautiful female presenting immortal beings, we can throw in the tried and true argument we can apply to all of Neil Gaiman's non human beings which is that since he is not a human cis male, he technically can't be straight and since he has multiple forms and is as old as the universe itself, attraction is probably a very different thing to Morpheus than it is to any of us. It's entirely plausible that he could fall in love with a man shaped being (I actually have a meta in progress about Morpheus' potential queerness - sure it may ruffle some feathers but since I do this for fun and not to please anyone but myself I don't give a damn and will post it one day).
Anyway, that said the show could easily do away with both these blockers. We haven't had Nada's tale yet so whats to say the Endless are forbidden from loving mortals in the show universe? Nothing. The show could also easily confirm Dream has had past male presenting lovers (my money would be on Oberon in a threeway situation with Titania - or Pharamond if he shows up.)
So putting those elements aside, who is better suited to Morpheus?
In Johanna's corner we have the following;
She generally fits the archetype of past lovers and therefore could be considered Morpheus's "type" - beautiful, confident, argumentative, not phased by his status, not submissive to him, puts him in his place (listen we all know Morpheus has a submissive kink its practically carved into comic text lol).
Well versed with his "world" and supernatural creatures and can hold her own against them - being a Constantine has its benefits.
She cares - underneath her tough exterior its clear she has a good heart. She was able to bring him down to Earth, to give a human perspective that he needed at that point.
Flawed characters - Johanna considers herself a bad person and compares herself to Roderick Burgess. But Dream is quick to dismiss this. The truth is that Johanna may be messy and a bit of a disaster, but she is very selfless and good at her core. This could be a good thing as it could help Dream to see the good in humanity that he has been missing. Its clear she already helped with this in the show, but going forward, a relationship between them could help even further accelerate his change and make him a better being.
She encouraged the development of his relationship with Matthew. Something else he needed which she saw before he did. Basically she's smart enough to figure out what he needs, and when to press the issue or not. (she dropped the topic of his imprisonment as soon as he deflected to her photo).
She understands heartbreak and messy relationships - I think Johanna would be well suited to Morpheus because she is just as broken as he is, with almost as messy a relationship history. They have common ground there.
"It never ends well does it?" "What? Love?" She's realistic about relationships, which Morpheus - being Dream - needs. She can ground him, at least for a little while.
Johanna is also a powerful ally to have on side, it makes for excellent storytelling to bring her into the narrative regarding Lucifer and the stories revolving around Hell. She's competent, highly skilled, and I think he finds her impressive.
For Hob consider the following:
Friends first - for someone with such a terrible track record of past lovers, finding love in a friend is something Morpheus doesn't appear to have tried before, and this could be exactly what he needs. Dream and Hob have a shared history over 6 centuries, and those are strong foundations to build a relationship on, especially since they've already basically been through the big break up fight and heartbreak and are already in the rekindling phase.
Stories for the storyteller - the beauty of Hob's role is that he is Dream's respite from his world. The visits with Hob are the one time the Prince of Stories gets to sit and listen to stories himself. There must be peace in that, and we all know Dream desperately seeks peace.
Blind Devotion - Hob is patient, and he will wait for Dream. One thing that I think a lot of Morpheus's past lovers had in common is that they struggled to stick out the periods of time when he would throw himself into his work and basically forget about them. The relationships fizzled out after the honeymoon phase because Dream couldn't sustain that, even though once you have his love you have it forever. With Hob that wouldn't be an issue. He is the man who waited. Who never gave up hope that Dream would return even after he was stood up, and when he did return, Hob smiled and joked. It was all okay. Morpheus needs a relationship with that level of chill.
Flawed characters - Unlike Johanna, I think its safe to say that Hob is a very flawed character. He is selfish, greedy, self centered and ignorant to a lot of what takes place around him. Whilst he does grow and improve over time, his flaws are still a huge part of his character. Morpheus is also very far from perfect and it is this that makes them so well suited. There is almost an equal footing there. Hob could potentially see Morpheus's POV when it comes to the grander schemes, but at the same time, it is clear from their journey together in the show that they have a tendency to make each other better.
Grieving fathers - now this is an important one and its something I feel the comic failed to see the potential of. A huge part of the Sandman story is Morpheus struggling to come to terms with his grief over his son. Grief is a central theme. Of all the characters in the comic who Morpheus comes to meet, Hob is one of maybe two that share that experience - being a father whose son died too soon. I think the other character in comic who suffers this same grief is Shakespeare, which is an interesting parallel and one worth exploring. The show adds Roderick Burgess into the equation - making a fathers grief for his dead son the trigger for Dream's own imprisonment. The show emphasises the theme of grief far beyond the comic, which is definitely worth further exploration in a separate meta. The point is that Hob sits in this very small circle of characters who have shared Dream's experience. Hob is therefore in a prime position to help Dream where they can grow and learn to heal together.
Whilst he doesn't fit the archetype for Dream's past lovers, the differences Hob provides could prove to be just what Dream needs. He is still a handsome man (and God knows Dream gave him bedroom eyes in 1789) and he still ticks certain boxes regarding dominance, confidence, and an ability to hold his own in a fight. "You need not have come to my defence" suuuuure Dream but you did enjoy it nevertheless! Therefore attraction isn't an issue.
Conclusion?
Both Johanna and Hob tick certain boxes to meet the requirements for "love interest" and could easily be positioned that way for Dream. When I really dig down into it I think it depends on what fans are looking for in a Dream ship as to which character is best suited.
I love Morphanna for how messy it is. Yes, Johanna cares and has a good moral centre, but placing her into a certain role within the bounds of the canon story could actually be bad for Dream going forward. I see it as a dramatic relationship. It would be passionate, fiery, dramatic, chaotic, and will end in heartbreak.
I say this because ultimately Johanna doesn't do commitment. This is a clearly defined character trait in the show. Commitment is something she struggles with. Whereas Morpheus is all about commitment. He doesn't appear to do anything BUT commit to people and comes on extremely strong. I love exploring this dynamic between them. I think it would work brilliantly as a canon ship and I am still resolutely behind the idea that Johanna should replace Thessaly in canon and be the trigger for the rainsoaked Dreaming and the Brief Lives disaster trip.
So whilst I 100% ship Morphanna, I think I only ship it on a temporary basis. I struggle to imagine a future where they can have a happy ending and be together long term. Instead I see an ending where after all is said and done, Johanna stands and tells her story at the Wake, and mourns the creature she loved, and has to go on struggling to understand her role in his downfall. If we are seeking an alternative ending where Morpheus lives, I still struggle to see him settling down with Johanna as she is a mortal and I cannot imagine her ever choosing immortality or giving up her job as someone who saves people from the supernatural. She will never be Morpheus's queen. It just doesn't suit her character.
When it comes to Hob, as much as it sometimes irks me to admit it, he is very well suited for Morpheus even in an endgame/alternative happy ending way. Foundations based in centuries of growing friendship, his patience and ability to wait for Morpheus to get his head out of his ass, his being unphased at practically all the weirdness and oddities that Dream's world brings with it. The fact is, Hob is Dream's best friend. This is something that Dream needs so much more than a lover. Not only that but he is a friend who has shared history, shared grief, shared pain, blind devotion, and he is immortal. Hob will stay by Dream's side forever if he has the chance. So long as he still gets to live. Whether you see it as purely platonic, queer platonic, non sexual romantic, or fully romantic and sexual, they are in it for the long term.
Whereas Morphanna for me is a quick burning fiery passionate love affair that ends in tears and A LOT of rain, Dreamling is a very slow burn. I struggle with canon based fics that have them falling into bed shortly after the 2022 reunion because it feels out of character to me. If Dreamling were to happen, it would need to take practically the entire comic run story to get to that point. Hob's devotion to Dream is clear, but his awareness of its romantic potential is not yet there. I always return to Hob's dream in Sunday Mourning when I think of Dreamling, because for me, that is where a relationship between them would actually start, rather than end. Because I think it would take a huge event like Morpheus's actual death for them to pull their heads out of their asses and get together. Because you see even with all the arguments and debates and highly emotional opinions thrown around, I still feel deep down like Sunday Mourning is telling us that Morpheus escaped. He got out the narrative and is free from his cage, and now he's set for his own adventure off in the stars. The only person I can realistically imagine him taking with him is Hob Gadling.
At the end of the day these are my opinions. I want canon Morphanna, I just want it to end with a horrible messy break up because I want that drama. I am unsure if I want Dreamling in canon, but I do hope that if the show ends similarly to the comic, that we will get those scenes in Sunday Mourning and have them be extremely emotionally charged - if ever there is a Dreamling love confession, that is where it belongs. I can only really analyse my opinions on these ships based on canon but I am aware that fandom is a big sandbox and people can do what they want always with these characters. Please don't ever let my opinions deter you from shipping them to your hearts content in any way you feel like.
So I guess the TL:DR is that they are both suited in different ways. Morphanna is a mid story passionate love affair that I adore and want to end in disaster. Dreamling is an endgame slow burn friends to lovers that has the potential to go long term.
I love them both for their specific purposes, believe they both are suited for those purposes, but never the other way around. I hope this satisfies your question! :)

about to make myself cry over aaron minyard again
(very long semi incoherent post-tkm thoughts below)
i've been thinking about kateaaron a lot lately (when i am i not) but like. i have been wondering Why would katelyn stick around especially when aaron wasn't going to say anything about the deal with andrew until after graduation when it was up like. what would make her willing to hold onto him that long after she was acutely aware of exactly what andrew would do to her?
then i got to thinking like. Maybe both of them were under the assumption that it wasn't serious at all. maybe aaron explained that it couldn't be. but nicky says in the raven king that aaron hasn't even asked katelyn out yet, which is possibly true at that point, but there's still definitely something there. so since there are shreds of canon information about these two and i do what i want, here is my very long idea about the Timeline of Kateaaron
i think neil's right in that they probably met through having similar classes and also through the foxes' general proximity to the vixens. so they're sort of semi-aware of each other, at this point katelyn wouldn't know About the twins, just that aaron is sort of a quieter version of his brother (which seems to be the outward impression of them). anyway. so katelyn recognises aaron in a couple of her classes, she's probably seen him at practice. she tries to talk to him a few times and while he's polite he's never that engaged in any sort of conversation. but they start studying together. quietly, they don't verbalize it that often, just katelyn will join aaron at his table in the library or vice versa and they will just. exist together like that. because thats the closest, safest way aaron can have any kind of relationship, platonic or otherwise.
from there it develops very quietly and very slowly, but katelyn slowly picks up on the fact that aaron is a lot more willing to talk to and engage with her when he's alone. so the library becomes their Place. they exchange numbers eventually and aaron opens up a bit more. he still doesn't talk a lot though, so katelyn fills in the gaps, and he's content just to listen to her because it all feels so normal, so ordinary. everything else in aaron's life is bloody and scary and tainted by his past and his brother. katelyn isn't. that's why she means so much to him.
i think aaron asks her out in a very roundabout way the night after he gets out on bail. he shows up at her dorm, conveniently when all of her roommates are out, and katelyn's about to berate him for not responding to any of her messages before she sees aaron is a fragment away from breaking. so she lets him in, lets him sit with her, lets him talk. he gives her an albeit broken up version of thanksgiving, and being arrested, and everything that happened after and then katelyn asks about andrew and aaron goes quiet. they sit there like that for a minute, and just before katelyn is about to apologise for overstepping, aaron tells her. he tells her everything, about meeting andrew when they were kids, about being terrified of losing him, about tilda hitting andrew instead of him, about the car crash, about juvie, about moving to SC, about his addiction and abou andrew getting him clean, about drake, about easthaven. aaron tells her everything because he can't tell it to anybody else. and then katelyn asks him if he wants to go home and aaron says no. so katelyn holds him and he stays the night.
after that, aaron spends most of his nights with her. she encourages him to go back and talk to the foxes, and he does. they're all very calm and cautious with him, but appreciate the unspoken ask for normalcy, so that's when team dinners start. aaron and katelyn don't label anything but nobody says anything when she picks him up from practice or when she drops him back off at the dorm after studying late.
slowly, katelyn learns how to love him. she learns to wake him up with a hand in his hair, not shaking his arm, or he backs away before he fully registers who she is. she learns to slip her arms around his waist instead of his shoulders, she learns to move slowly when she goes to brush something off his face so he doesn't stumble back expecting a hit.
they don't seriously get together until after andrew talks to her in the library. their first date is about two weeks before the PSU/USC game, a post-study evening ice cream trip. it took too long and too much hurt, they can both agree, but it's worth it.

Have we ever stopped to consider the impact Robin's arrival had on Aaron? Because like I'm almost 100% positive she had a great impact on Andrew (and on Neil as well) because it showed he was ready to open his tight circle to yet another external person, but what was Aaron's reaction to that?
Nora said in the EC the twins were making progress in (re?)building their relationship, albeit almost too slowly to notice. They are becoming proper brothers, through the highs and lows of it, and it's a long process for the two of them. And yet, here is Andrew handpicking someone to replace him after he graduates to everyone's surprise when she has, seemingly, nothing special (I'm paraphrasing Nora a little bit here so don't hate me, I personally love Robin). But it is his choice, imposed to Wymack by a short note and a bottle of whiskey, so no one asks. Perhaps Aaron doesn't notice at first, but the more time she spends at PSU, the closer she seems to Andrew. He encourages her to fight back against the teammates who torment her, he takes her to Columbia and then she moves in with the cousins in the dorm where Andrew gives her his own bed so they have enough room to fit her in.
I mean, don't tell me this wasn't a shock to him. He has been fighting for Andrew's attention almost this entire time and yet, here she waltzes in, and grabs it so easily. I'm sure this must has been a major setback in their relationship because he must have felt so betrayed considering Andrew almost seems to be considering her as some kind of little sister. Of course he probably doesn't know everything about her past, so it must hurt him so bad to see his brother get attached to someone else so easily when he is right there. I bet their therapy sessions are either quite animated or deadly silent.
Nora also says eventually all the cousins end up coaching her after hours so honestly I would absolutely not be surprised if the first time he has to do it he just lashes out because what the hell makes her so special? Eventually, perhaps Robin stops right there and explains to him her entire past, and perhaps Aaron suddenly understands why Andrew would find interest in helping her because sure their past is a bit different, but also it has many similarities and now Aaron can see it. He probably feels dumb as hell for letting his own emotions cloud his judgement. They are all Foxes, all of them have a messy past and it shouldn't have come as a surprise that Robin's would be a bad one too considering Andrew is so keen on offering her his protection. Once Robin is done talking, Aaron definitely finds himself at a loss for words. His anger is gone, now replaced by something else he cannot quite pinpoint so he just goes back to coaching Robin as if nothing happened. It's only after this day that he begins accepting her among his family as well, going so far as introducing her to Katelyn who immediately becomes her friend because Katelyn is awesome and we love her in this house, and perhaps he also has a little talk about this with Andrew, who knows?

just finished ā€˜kevin can f**k himselfā€™
well i finished it a few days ago but i had to really let it marinate in my head.
overall, 7/10. i would recommend it if you like drama series or whatever. honestly idk what to compare it to because i think the show is very unique in the directing style but if anybody knows a show or movie similar to it then please let me know and hopefully iā€™ll be able to check it out.
more detailed review + spoilers below
okay so first impressions i really did not expect the rest of the show to go the way that it did but it was very interesting, although i will say the ending seemed rushed but im assuming that was due to the network and not necessarily the shows team.
i had a love hate relationship with allison. and by that i mean every time i started to like her she did something to make me hate her againšŸ˜ definitely i tried to be sympathetic of her situation and how it may make her act but she was still annoying at times and definitely if it werenā€™t for patty she would have gotten herself into a lot of trouble.
also i want to make sure i mention the directing style (if thatā€™s what itā€™s called). the transitions from sitcom to drama were so great and honestly chilling. and itā€™s so fitting for how real life is. obviously not exactly but we all know at least one person where itā€™s like whenever theyā€™re around they become the main character of some strange sitcom thatā€™s all about them and the problems they make and how everyone else has to clean up behind them and their mistakes. if you donā€™t know anybody like this then i envy you because these people are draining šŸ˜
but back to the actual contents of the show, patty definitely was my favorite character even from the very beginning. i also began to like neil in the latter half of the second season, where he finally began to realize kevin is not a true friend and wouldnā€™t care if he lives or dies. i think if the writers/producers had even just a little more time then they could have fleshed out that plot line even more, especially throwing peter into it as well and showing how everyone was slowly distancing themselves from kevin rather than just walking out and ghosting him, as we saw through allisonā€™s struggles itā€™s not that easy whether you are a spouse, family, friend, partner, whatever.
i liked tammy and i liked her relationship with patty, trust iā€™ll almost always like a wlw relationship (as long as itā€™s not immoral in any way). however she was the same as allison in my eyes, where i have that love hate relationship with her. i appreciated that she cared for patty and made patty feel heard but i felt like tammy overstepped her boundaries way too often, just showing up and trying to push patty out of her comfort zone all the time. itā€™s healthy to encourage people to face their fears and whatnot but i think she just came off as pushy or possessive at times, especially when it came to allison. i understand she viewed allison as a bad influence but i donā€™t get why she felt so entitled to ā€˜protectā€™ patty. patty is a grown woman who has known allison for 15 years, so it was just crazy to me that tammy felt like she could come in and tell allison to stay away from patty as if she would understand their dynamic at all. and yes ik that patty and allison werenā€™t friends those 15 years but im still just trying to make the point that tammy was the outsider (and a fucking cop so did she really expect patty and allison to tell her every single thing all the time) so she really had no place acting that way in my opinion. she was also very rude with the whole ā€œi donā€™t like you youā€™re not my friendā€ attitude. like no need to lie and sugarcoat it but you can at least fake it till you make it.
anyways enough about that i just felt a bit strongly about that point, mainly bc wlw representation is so hard to come by so i just get a bit upset when it doesnā€™t work well.
honestly idk why but i expected patty and allison to get together. iā€™m glad they didnā€™t though, i think they work better as friends. but also i couldnā€™t really understand allisonā€™s motives at times. sometimes it felt like she was being purely selfish and treating everything like a transaction (not just with patty but with sam, diane, neil, and even kevin at times) but other times it seemed like she genuinely cared and wanted to help (mostly with patty but a little with diane and sam too). it was easy to tell that patty was genuine with allison and actually cared for her but i just could never tell if it was reciprocated so if anybody wants to give their two cents on that iā€™m all ears.
i wont even get into sam because iā€™ll get mad. all iā€™ll really say is i did not like his dynamic with allison at all. this is again where i could never tell if she was just selfish or actually cared about him (but with him im leaning more towards just being selfish). especially when he brought up that everything that they do itā€™s because she wants to. so yknow itā€™s whatever but i didnā€™t like it and this relationship contributed a lot to my dislike of allison as a main character.
i wont really get into pete or kevin either. pete is pretty one dimensional the whole time (in my opinion). and kevin was very one dimensional until we are able to see more into his destructive and manipulative side in season two, but even then thereā€™s not much to work with until the very end (but like i said the ending needed more work so im trying not to touch on the subject too much).
i liked diane. i was confused at first bc i didnā€™t know that she was allisonā€™s aunt so their relationship confused me. in the second season i definitely felt for her. the whole thing with neil caught me off guard but i guess they were both hurting or whatever. she was a fine character, not too remarkable but i didnā€™t hate her.
so overall, my main criticism would be the characters need work. not that they are ā€˜badā€™ or poorly written or anything, i just donā€™t see any of them as necessarily relatable or likable except for patty (but thatā€™s my opinion and you may have a different one!). and ofc i know that not every story needs to have relatable and likable characters but i think that it helps you hook and maintain an audience.
but i think that that issue definitely is squashed by the great story and direction. idk the circumstances of the show, if it was always meant to be two seasons or if they got cut short idk. if they made a third season i honestly donā€™t know what else they could have had happen so while i think the ending could have been fleshed out more, i donā€™t think there was a need for another 8 episodes. THAT BEING SAID, i did love what we were given. as mentioned earlier i loved the contrast between sitcom and drama where not only did the show change cinematically but also the characters in the scene changed the way they acted depending on if kevin was present and i think that that was super interesting and a very unique concept that i personally have never seen before. the plot line could use a couple tweaks here and there but i am no show runner or script writer so please take that sentiment with a grain of salt.
okay, this review is long enough. bye now drink water be safe and ladies carry pepper spray and maybe learn a self defense move or two šŸ«”

Hi! I'm coming from z0miBites blog and I would like to share some headcannons with you that I shared with them! Like I personally think that all of Neil's characters, would be girl dads.
Hello, darling! ā¤ļø I would love to hear any headcanons you may have! ā˜ŗļø And OMG I can totally see that!
I can see Rob taking his little girl to the Zoo, dressed in a tiger onesie or something like that, and show her all the big predator animals. Teaching her about them. Buys her many stuffed animals to teach her about them and takes her camping to teach her about wildlife. Reads her books about nature and animals. Is very protective of her and stays up late holding her when he has trouble sleeping due to nightmares.
Charlie would be extremely protective over his little girl. Would definitely be the dad who follows them on their first date and give frequent, gleeful, shovel-talks to any boy who so much as looks at his little princess. Would absolutely make people disappear who upset his daughter.
I know Father Anthony Bridge would absolutely spoil his baby girl. Would dress her up in cute frilly dresses and buys her a toy or stuffed animal every single time he's out shopping. Is the type of dad to tear up at the sight of little baby shoes.
Captain Hook would teach them how to sword fight. Makes her a new sword every year for her birthday. Will act the same as Charlie as in being extremely protective. Can be a tad overbearing, but honestly has her best interest at heart. Would also have the best tailors, toymakers, and teachers in Neverland on standby. Is overprotective of you the second you tell him you are pregnant.
Richard will spoil you and his child. Would be the kind of father to buy matching outfits for everybody. Would be a helicopter parent, not wanting to put the baby down at all, and would be the one to tend to her if she cries during the night so you can sleep. Would be the type of dad that joins her tea parties, lets her dress him up and paint his nails, and would take everything very seriously. The type of parent to hold on to every single drawn picture his kid gives him.
With Nikolai he can be a tad bit standoffish, but will happily kill anyone he deems a threat to his daughter. Even other vampires. Will definitely be the stoic parent. Shows his love by buying her things. Is the one staying up with her at night when she cries, tells her stories about the vague memories he has from being human, and is more likely to show affection when he thinks you can't see him. He has a reputation to uphold.
Mark Griffin never thought about having a family. Too engrossed in his music. But is a great father and partner to have a family with. Stays calm in situations where you want to pull out your hair, makes his music while holding his baby and asking her opinion on it even if she's still a newborn, and will sing her (and you) to sleep. The baby will instantly calm when he sings or hums to her. Encourages her to bang on pots and pans to make "music" and signs her up for music lessons.

Hello! I hope you are doing fine! I am *definitely* going to add to you overflowing askbox, so I apologise in advance.... (I didn't know where to post this, and I seriously don't know how to feel about this post)
Tumblr media
Hi there! I...wow. Okay, I clearly turned off my Anons just in time, or at the worst possible time (I'm not sure which). But this was a hell of a thing to see first thing this morning, and after seeing the notes on that post, I think this person was right to send this question via a throwaway account, because they knew they would get flamed for it.
First of all, whether or not this person should have even asked Neil this question is entirely up for debate. GO season 2 is done, it's in the can and about to be released, so it's not as if there is anything Neil can do about Peter and Ty being in it. I can also understand Neil likening this person's concern about the casting to people saying prior to GO season 1 that it was a huge mistake to cast Michael and David. I could see him equating the two, in his mind, and feeling like this is dƩjƠ vu all over again and thusly responding from that vantage.
However...I'm really at a loss as to his opening sentence, in which he describes the person's question as "creepy." I've read and reread the person's question multiple times, and for my part, I did not think there was anything creepy about this question. The person seemed to take great care in asking it--especially with English not being their first language--and did not make any threats toward anyone, nor say anything inappropriate (again, as far as I could tell). This leads me to think that Neil very deliberately used that word, setting the stage for and tacitly encouraging what he alluded to but did not say aloud--that this person is silly and stupid for asking a seemingly harmless question and deserves to be treated accordingly.
There was one part of the person's question that Neil homed in on (and that seems to be a common refrain in the notes and on Twitter), which was that this person cannot separate the characters from the actors, nor tell fiction from reality. Yet I also did not get this feeling from their question, and was taken aback by Neil seemingly twisting around what the person was actually trying to say. The specific focus on this part of the question also seemed to serve the purpose of steering discussion away from the heart of the person's question, which was about nepotism. And it's here, at this particular point, that Neil's response does not really seem to stand up to scrutiny.
First of all, the comment about "a season that hasn't even been commissioned in parts that haven't been written" is disingenuous at best, as not even a week ago, it was Neil himself who said that Georgia was offered a part in season 2. So this is not really a hypothetical concern, as Georgia actually was offered a part. I also thought it was interesting that Neil conveniently did not mention the bonus episode of Sandman, in which both Georgia and Anna had voice roles in scenes with their respective partners. So again, not a hypothetical, but something that actually previously happened. And in both these cases, it does not seem that an audition was required, but rather that the roles were offered to Georgia and AL because they happened to be there/it simplified things since Sandman was recorded during Covid times.
Another thing that has been overlooked was David himself at the Basingstoke Comic Con this past weekend being asked about his favorite scene in GO 2. After mentioning that his son is in the scene, David also says his father-in-law (Peter) is in the show. The interviewer then asks, "And your wife and your neighbor?" to which David's response is "They are not in it, but itā€™s a sore point, so donā€™t dwell on it." I thought that was an interesting choice of words, because if everything involving offering Georgia a part did go exactly the way Neil described, why would it be a sore point? If Georgia researched the role and had absolutely no compunction about turning it down, why would she be annoyed or upset? It seems like something small, I know, but it just makes me question some of the things we're being told.
In terms of Peter and Ty's roles, I do understand that Peter is a fixture on the acting landscape in the UK, so I fully get Neil offering him a part, but I find his answer regarding Ty to be extremely dubious, at best. Neil and David have been friends since 2017--so, six years now--and is he truly expecting us to believe that he has no idea what David's son looks like? Even if they haven't had occasion to meet in person, does it really make sense that David would have never shown him a picture? Especially given how he beams with pride when talking about Ty and his accomplishments. Also, I realize the days of traditional audition tapes are long gone, but does it seem at all plausible that Neil wouldn't have seen Ty's name on the clip he watched, or that if he'd seen the name "Ty Tennant," it wouldn't have rung a bell?
But rather than address any of this, Neil--for reasons I can only begin to guess--decided to respond to this person as condescendingly and dismissively as possible. The bit about "shattered the fragile illusion and revealed to people that the David Tennant and Michael Sheen who play Crowley and Aziraphale are actors" was beyond insulting (as if we don't know that Michael and David are actors?), but what really grates my cheese is the fact that it opened the door to people in the notes accusing people who have had concerns about these issues of being "in an echo chamber." I would argue that the people who are somehow not aware of these concerns are the ones actually living in an echo chamber, because there has been a LOT of talk about this ever since Neil shared that cropped photo two months ago. (Also, I am aware that a combined 146 votes is by no mean a representative sample of an entire fandom, but if the results of the two polls I recently posted are any indication, a lot of people seem ambivalent (in the case of Ty and Peter) or outright against (in the case of Georgia and AL) these casting choices.)
Overall, I would say that I am deeply disappointed in this type of response from someone I've always thought was a brilliant writer and a really cool guy. I fully acknowledge that Neil can say whatever he wants, of course, but it's really strange to me that someone who has been so tight-lipped and "wait and see" about everything GO 2 up until now is suddenly delving into details. For months, Neil gave no answers regarding a trailer or character names or even a crumb of plot, so I'm just downright confused as to why these particular questions merited an answer. Neil could've even simply said, "Your concern is noted and appreciated, but everything is fine", or not answered this question at all (which I think probably would've been the better route), but instead, he went the way he did, and here we are.
So those are pretty much my thoughts on this whole thing. I am still looking forward to GO season 2, but this has definitely colored my perceptions to a degree. I guess we'll see what happens...

Scottish! Reader - 141, Los Vaqueros + Konig
Requested by @nylas-teashop
AN: Saw this request and got really excited, I have quite a broad accent myself so, self-insert? Mayhaps.
Johnny "Soap" MacTavish
First and foremost - a massive smile breaks out on this guy's face when he finds out that you're Scottish, too.
Like genuinely, the first time he hears you speak, he's like >:D
Like his brain genuinely goes "aw yessss"
Mans probably gets a bit frustrated when he has to repeat what he says multiple times for other people - at least now that you're here he won't have to.
Since Neil Ellice is from the North of Scotland, I reckon Soap would be from around that area - although his accent does kind of give me Edinburgh vibes.
So if your accent is much broader and thicker than his, he's delighted and just loves listening to you talk.
Is also interested in hearing your local slang - since dialects vary in Scotland depending on where you're from, he's curious to hear if yours' is that much different to his own.
Definitely speaks Broad Scots more with you, and takes great delight when other people havenā€™t got a clue what youā€™re saying to each other.
Itā€™s like a secret language for you two.
He definitely takes delight in Ghost's annoyed reaction when you're both talking, whether it be in person or over comms.
"Speak English, you two."
Soap probably asked you the number one question that every Scottish person gets asked at least once in their life -- "Do you support Rangers or Celtic?"
Probably wouldn't be arsed if you supported a different team from him, or didn't support any at all - but he'll still playfully wind you up about it on the regular.
If you happened to speak Gaelic, he'd try and get you to teach him a bit.
I can see him walking up with a big Saltire flag whenever thereā€™s a match on between Scotland and England / anywhere else - encouraging you to take one corner and he takes the other, parading about the base.
Price has given you both in trouble for it more than a few times but after a while he kind of just gave up and elects to ignore it.
He did give Johnny a gutting out for blasting 'Flower of Scotland' at the early hours of the morning though.
Simon "Ghost" Riley
"Fuckin' 'ell, there's two of 'em."
Mans gets so annoyed when you and Johnny speak Scots - he doesn't know what any of the words you guys are using mean, so he's just >:(
ā€œSpeak English, for fuck sakeā€¦ā€
Secretly though, he actually likes your accent.
He'll never admit it though.
He's been around Johnny for long enough to get the gist of what he's saying, even though he pretends he doesnā€™t know what youā€™re saying just to wind you up.
Sometimes though, he genuinely has no idea what you're saying.
Like that time when the Team were setting up a make-shift base camp in an abandoned building that had definitely seen better days:
Y/N: Fuckin' hell, it's a bit foostie* in here.
Ghost: ...
Generally in those moments would either wait for either you or Soap to 'translate' or would just ignore it.
If you have a dry sense of humour, heā€™ll chuckle lightly under his mask - heā€™d never admit to it though.
[About Graves] Y/N: That cunt is wired to a Mars bar.*
Soap: *wheezing*
Ghost: *holding back a chuckle* Focus on the mission, (Y/L/N).
Kyle "Gaz" Garrick
I think heā€™d get the gist of what youā€™re saying but only if youā€™re speaking slowly.
Heā€™s been hanging around with Soap long enough to pick up what most of the slang he says means, but when you and Soap get together and speak more broadly, he doesnā€™t always 100% know what youā€™re talking about.
Would probably wind you up a lot once he gets comfortable with you - and definitely imitates your accent a lot.
Heā€™d get used to your accent after a while and would also act as a translator if Soap isnā€™t there to do so.
Captain John Price
Honestly he probably would understand the majority of what you were saying - heā€™s been around a lot of different people during his time in the military so he gets the gist.
Sometimes though, he genuinely hasnā€™t the foggiest.
(Y/N): Itā€™s awfa dreich the day, isnā€™t it, Sir?
Price: ā€¦ itā€™s what??
Queue his confused expression when he finds out you were talking about the weatherā€¦
I think heā€™d learn quickly though - wouldnā€™t try and use the slang or anything, he knows he would probably butcher it.
Soap would have to translate sometimes for him, especially over comms - it would be like this part from Hot Fuzz
Generally would elect to ignore most of you and Soap's antics - watching you two bounce off each other like ping-pong balls all day would give him a migraine, so unless you break anything or make arses of yourselves, he'll let you off with it.
Tried Scottish Tablet for the first time after you made it - and had to lecture Soap who tried to eat the boiling sugary mixture out of the pot with a spoon...
Also was pleasantly surprised when you brought him some Scottish Whisky that he'd mentioned that he wanted to try.
Congratulations, you're now his favourite.
Alejandro Vargas
Oh, he loves it - has no clue what you're saying half the time but he's just happy listening to you and Soap talking away to each other.
I can see him imitating you a lot - half of the time it's to wind you up, but he genuinely thinks some Scots words are hilarious and loves to throw them into a sentence.
Even if the way he's using them sometimes just doesn't sound quite right.
Definitely gets confused when slang gets introduced into the mix.
Alejandro: So 'how' means 'why'? And 'ken' means you know something? Mi Amor, this is confusing...
If you have a strong personality and or a temper - he's smitten.
I think he likes fire in a partner *cough cough Valeria cough* so if you and Soap are tearing up the battlefield practically roaring through comms, he's definitely going to be asking you out once the mission's over.
Rudy Parra
Like Alejandro, he has no clue what you're saying more than half the time.
He's too polite to tell you outright though, so I can see him just doing the little awkward smile.
He'd learn quickly though, so while it might take him a bit to fully understand, he'll get the gist.
Konig
Poor guy has no clue what's going on.
He understands what Soap's saying about 70% of the time, and that's just from being around him long enough to pick up on his dialect.
But to hear a new accent with new slang on top of it, he's back to square one again.
If you're Glaswegian or from areas of Scotland where people tend to speak quite fast, he's just going to blink at you in confusion when you speak, trying to figure out what you said.
You'd probably have to teach him a fair bit of local slang and some Scots otherwise he'd literally never know what you were on about.
Learns quickly though.
Added a wee glossary for the Scots / slang used above ~
Foostie* - Decayed, dusty. Wired to a Mars bar* - I donā€™t know if this is said in other areas but where Iā€™m from it basically means that someone is either an idiot or is insane, like theyā€™re wired to a Mars bar (chocolate bar) instead of a battery. TLDR; Theyā€™re a headcase.

this might be a bit niche but i just finished rewatching one of my favorite movies and at first i was gonna ask what characters y'all think watched the rocky horror picture show but during the whole movie i was thinking about what each fox would think about it. so here are my thoughts:
nicky - he absolutely loves it. he either watched it for the first time in germany with eric or he just heard about it and watched it for the first time with the twins. he knows every word to all of the songs and he sings them all the time. he will be doing the time warp any time there's an opportunity. his favorite character is obviously frank
andrew - he shows no emotion during the movie and he says he doesn't have an opinion about it but he loves it as well. he sings the songs in his head. everytime nicky wants to watch it again he is suddenly very bored and has nothing to do so he watches with him. no one caught on yet. his favorite is also frank
aaron - he doesn't like it. he doesn't like musicals and he doesn't understand them. and he hates how the creation of rocky doesn't make sense. but he will still watch it with nicky and andrew sometimes while complaining. (he later mentions it to katelyn and she actually likes it so he's doomed) (he actually doesn't mind that much)
kevin - at first he's basically forced to watch it with the rest despite telling them that he doesn't want to. he wouldn't admit it but he actually enjoyed it a bit (the songs are catchy alright). he sometimes hums the sword of damocles when he's alone. but he still thinks that the movie doesn't make sense and talks shit about it with aaron.
neil - i think andrew would actually convince him to watch it for the first time with just him. at first neil really doesn't get it but he sees that andrew is really excited about the movie so he gives it a shot. when rocky first shows up he jokes that andrew could be him for halloween. without missing a beat andrew says that rocky is more like a dumb jock like someone he knows. at first neil doesn't have anything to say but when eddie's song plays he can not not think about the similarities between andrew and eddie. he turns to tease andrew with it but andrew was expecting it and just tells him don't. he doesn't say anything but the stupid smile on his face tells andrew exactly what he's thinking. they later watch it with the rest of the monsters and neil pretends he still haven't seen it
matt - he first watched it with nicky. matt doesn't really get it but he enjoys it despite it. next time he and the others watch it he's next to nicky doing the time warp. his favorite song is sweet transvestite and his favorite character is brad
allison - watched it when she was younger. she likes it because she used to go to theaters a lot so she understands musicals. she also likes the campy vibes of it all. her favorite character is janet but she's also the loudest one calling her a slut (if you don't know when you're watching the play it's interactive and the audience is encouraged to call her slut). but she will also defend her no matter what because people make mistakes
renee and dan - they watched it with allison during their second year. after finishing it they talk about it for some time before deciding to rewatch it immediately now with the commentary like in the theaters. all three of them are definitely doing the time warp. once they found out that nicky loves the movie as well the plan a movie night with the team and everyone is forced to participate
(bonus: seth - allison made him watch it. he didn't really like it but he could admit that the songs are catchy)
(bonus bonus: abby and wymack - they decide to watch it after nicky keeps talking about it and singing the songs. wymack is confused most of the time and mildly concerned while abby absolutely loves the vibes)
this really got away from me. please give me your opinions, i need to talk about this with someone

okay last thing about the podcast but i do want to say this. i encourage all of you to listen to it even if you donā€™t want to because it is definitely biased and that is much more clear than in the article/blurb/whatever. the podcast also fully acknowledges that the relationships were consensual in a way that neil might have honestly believed the acts (or at least some of them, which complicates things) to be fully consensual based on how the women communicated to him. iā€™m not excusing his behavior and i do fully believe the assaults happened, but i also think this was a hit piece they did about a famous person whoā€™s politics they donā€™t like. two things can be true and i feel like the article was written in the most inflammatory way possible when the narrative in the podcast felt much more he said she said. more than anything iā€™m expecting that this will result in more people coming forward than in this podcast more than these specific charges going anywhere, basically. but i think everyone should listen to the information themselves and draw their own conclusions because also what the hell do i know.

Alright spoilers for the final Dr Who special
HERES MY THOUGHTS ON THE GIGGLE AND FINAL RANKINGS FOR ALL THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIALS!!

Bi-generation
Oh boy
I spent a while trying to write this, but every time I came to a complaint, I realized that the story kind of set it up in a way. All that to say, this review was originally going to be a lot harsher, but I found some justifications for the things I had complaints about.
In general, I like the episode. Itā€™s a goofy romp where Neil Patrick Harris is a cosmic-scale nut job while David Tennant looks on in horror. Itā€™s fun. It is not, however, a good ending to a series of specials let alone ANNIVERSARY specials. It doesnā€™t feel like an ending. The ending doesnā€™t feel emotionally resolved (thatā€™s the thesis statement right there)
Throughout the episode, the doctor is constantly reminded that he has always had to move on. He always has to leave his friends. Between meeting the classic companion Mel, to the Toymaker giving him basically a slideshow of all the people who have died because of him and his actions.
And so the story compliments this with an ending where the doctor doesnā€™t have to leave. The pattern breaks. The doctor stays.
Aaaaaand he also doesnā€™t. At the same time.
I feel like the same effect could have been reached without splitting the doctor in half. Now thereā€™s two doctors. How the hell are you gonna manage that? The Timeless Child shit is definitely cannon so now thereā€™s two cosmic super beings AND two Tardisā€™s (Tardices? Whatever the plural of Tardis is) in existence.
I was emotionally prepared to say goodbye to David Tennant as the doctor but now the story feels unresolved. Instead of the heartwarming ending they were going for, it feels like this was just concentrated fan-service intended to lead into a spinoff series and encourage fanfiction writers to fill in the gaps (I will say, the Doctor calling Rose his niece was very sweet. He does finally get a family and that is undeniably nice)
SO! Corrections:
I think the same emotional effect (if not more of an emotional effect) could have been achieved if 14 didnā€™t actually die in that confrontation. Maybe the resolution of his story is that The Doctor decided that, for a while, he does stick around. Maybe we get a montage of domestic Doctor. He still gets his family and he still gets to resolve all his emotional baggage, just without the Bi-generation nonsense. When Ncuti takes over we get a Doctor that is ready to start traveling again (remember, 15 isnā€™t going to have this emotional catharsis. He left without confronting his baggage. Heā€™s still fucked up, but I donā€™t feel like the writers are gonna acknowledge that) And then, after some time has passed, maybe the David Tennant body ā€œwears a bit thinā€ and he regenerates the normal way (thatā€™s how Hartnell regenerated, I feel like it would be fitting with this whole ā€œnew era of Doctor Whoā€ shit theyā€™ve got going on plus the Toymaker is a villain from Hartnells run, the themes are themeing)
Other than that, pretty fun episode. Kate Stewart slays. Shirley continues to be a bad bitch keeping the doctor on his toes. The tease for the Master at the end was fun, always a blast to see that lunatic. Overall, I give The Giggle a 6.5/10. Passable episode with a truly nonsense ending (and not the fun kind of nonsense)
Final ratings for all the specials:
The Star Beast: 8/10
Wild Blue Yonder: 9.5/10 (this might be one of my favorite episodes of Doctor Who ever)
The Giggle: 6.5/10
I do still love RTD. The man wrote some of my favorite stories in all of fiction. Iā€™m very optimistic about this coming season of the show. I think Ncuti Gatwa has charisma coming out his ears so heā€™ll be fantastic. My pie in the sky dream is that itā€™s so good that it makes me forget about all this weird shit and hanging plot threads. Hereā€™s hoping!ļæ¼ļæ¼
