I recently restarted my condo's "amenities" committee. This is naturally going to be a bit of a shitshow simply because we have several dozen units in the building with several dozen different opinions about how the condo should be run. (We have some of the lowest dues and largest reserves per capita in the area, and the primary point of contention is whether or not we should keep it that way).

Knowing that my opinion, and the opinions of the other folks on my committee, might not be representative of the whole building, I put out a survey. The literal first question is "one to seven, how much money should we spend on shit." I wanna know the answer, obviously, but I also want to remind people that we can't do anything if we're not willing to spend money. That's sitting at about 2.9 and holding steady. About 21% of the units have responded so far. That seems fair, I can work with that.

Enter Main Character.

Main Character isn't satisfied with simply answering "1" on the money question - he uses the free response boxes to complain about the format of the survey (he was forced to rank project ideas from one to four, and he wanted to tell us he DIDN'T want to do his second, third, and fourth choices). He then proceeded to find issue with just about every idea presented and reiterate that "We are a well run building with a mind on expenses. Do not spend all of our money."

Okay, bet.

Now, we didn't ask people to put their names or emails on the survey, only their unit number and whether they were an "Owner, Owner Non-Resident, or Renter." But I'm a zillennial and our county has condo ownership documents online, so it doesn't take me too long to find his name, and his Facebook. It's not set to public, but I can see everything he's ever posted in the condo Facebook groups. Main Character has put "Owner" on his form, but he's actually a landlord. This is starting to make an awful lot of sense very quickly.

Question is, what do I do now? He's being a bit of an asshat and behaving in a way that's very UN-neighborly and decidedly uncalled for. *Most* of my neighbors actually used the response box to tell me I was doing a great job (aw), so I know the community doesn't condone this behavior.

Mun PSA: I do not appreciate being woken up by my neighbor working on his vehicle at three am on my day off. This is the third time this month and I've politely asked them to stop twice but they're not doing so. I don't want to go to the authorities, but I don't want him to wake up my young niece and nephews when they arrive this weekend... I hate confrontation.

I also apologize to anyone whose thread I didn't get to today. It was a mad dash at work with holidays coming up and when I got home, I had to finish up house things to prepare for my brother and his family's arrival. I will be on tomorrow but won't be present until the following Friday once they have left, as they're here visiting for Thanksgiving (Which he celebrates now that he relocate to America).

This will be my first time seeing my family since the pandemic hit. I wish all of my American partners a happy holiday and safe travels as you go see your own families! I am thankful for all who have come to my page and made me feel comfortable here on this blog. I look forward to returning and writing with all of you more!

Loud obnoxious neighbors are the worst. I’m sorry you’re having to deal with it on an ongoing basis.

They say people with untreated ADHD die younger on average than neurotypicals, in part due to impulsivity. While I am medicated I am not medicated at two in the morning and I realized this kind of shenanigan is why we die early. I don't often get smartass with strangers but I still do it way more often than most people and undoubtedly one day it's going to get my ass shot.

After I hit post on the latest neighbor update last night, I put the phone away and was trying to get back to sleep when his girlfriend, the World's Loudest Talker and currently mad her light infidelity also hadn't fixed their relationship after the sex toy failed, started pitching an actual tantrum. She began pounding on the wall that my bedroom shares with his everythingroom (it's a studio) and chanting "You don't care! You don't care!"

I do sympathize with these poor idiots. Clearly nobody modeled healthy communication for either of them. But as an adult, even a young one, you don't need to be taught that you don't rhythmically punch internal walls in a condo building. That's my wall too. At the same time I didn't want to go knock on their door and deal with them face to face in my pyjamas and I definitely am not putting on trousers for this.

So I sat up in bed, took a breath, and bellowed at top volume

HEY, KNOCK IT THE FUCK OFF.

Pin-drop silence. It was glorious. But just as I realized they know where I live and might be armed, she burst into loud wailing wordless sobs. She did retreat from the wall, and a few minutes later left with more slammed doors than there are rooms in that condo, but at least it ended the fight.

We'll see if it lasts.

Ok, now she's throwing around "I'm up four hours before you get up at 10 on the weekends," and I feel a bit insulted by that one.

"The documentaries are on while I'm doing the chores, dingus, I'm not sitting there watching them!" This is when she's doing her six hours of chores on the weekend. Damn. My place would be spotless if I spent six hours a week cleaning shit.

I'm also not sure that "it's fine" is the appropriate response to "even when you pick up the groceries, you don't put them away! (Putting them away is part of getting the groceries!) [unintelligible] was room temperature!" [unclear response] "No, it says it has to be refrigerated once opened, you can't just leave it on the counter!"

So she's working a day job, still does 30 minutes of cleaning every day when she gets home, and he doesn't understand why it's not ok to leave his lunch plate on the counter all day until she gets home.

Something about how Fire & Ice give up on going after Pearl directly, and instead both arrow in on dissing Marina-

Something about, Pearl having no shame at all, outright telling Frye right off that Off the Hook is here to “take control” and then literally talking over Frye’s turn. Frye’s snarking on how Pearl isn’t the boss here and no one’s cheering for her, ignored. How she goes after both Frye and Shiver asking where Frye’s big friend is to help her pass this test, moving right on to saying they’re both just goons making a mess anyway, little fish who should stay in they're bowl, but

that seems to give Frye the idea of hitting back with the “who’s backing you? Imaginary friends?” line… like Marina doesn’t even count as a music partner- or a friend?

Pearl literally yaps about Marina being divine, one of a kind, voice so fine, big mind- raps the lines off her cuff and the heart that's proudly pinned there

And Frye and Shiver go TARGET DETECTED. They lock onto Marina.

Shiver doesn’t bother trying to needle Marina about Pearl, the way their partners were each doing- if Pearl has no shame then at least she DOES still have a weakness, a soft spot, a thing she openly cares about- something they can try riling her up over

(problem: Pearl actually has all the confidence in Marina as a musician, partner, and performer. She's WATCHED Marina be all those things for YEARS now)

In the end Frye and Shiver just rile up the gay feels. Because Marina’s been living with a rapper who LOVES hyping her up even when they’re not on stage- Pearl who said she’d cut a fish for Marina. And if you don’t come to Inkopolis with a lot of self confidence, well then getting some from your girlfriend is fine too  

But it’s cute that Pearl’s still so obvious about being Marina's no. 1 fan that Fire & Ice thought they could use it against her XD

What do you think about Izaack? I don't you really say anything about him and how is his relationship with the other neighbors? (mainly Francis and Angus)

Izaack, dear boy Izaack:

Very much aware of how good looking he is, and shows it off proudly.

Has to travel around his car almost all the time, when people see him on the streets or just at a store, they freak out and will reach for the first thing they see so he signs it, which he never rejects.

If he's offered to have things for free he won't think twice or try to act humble, Izaack will reach out for it, say thank you and rush out of there.

Absolute heartbreaker, man cannot remember how many ladies he's dated... on the past week. Tho he never brings anyone bc, you know, DDD restrictions.

As to his neighbors, he's always approaching the ones with the most interesting occupations, just to see if they'd bring enough to the table for a special coverage on his program, since he's so done with reporting the same doppels bs and their victims everyday.

He likes the local bar near the building since he's seen more as a normal person rather than a celebrity and can enjoy the company there, specially Angus', he's very fun to hang out with.

They'd usually be singing and dancing and asking for so many rounds of drinks, to which sometimes the young Rudboys man will join (despite being so serious behind those mysterious sunglasses he carries everywhere, he's got a contagious laugh).

He usually sees Angus along with a pathetic milkman guy which he's teasing or jokingly hugging in a very clingy way, without said milkman showing any emotion other than sleepiness, and he finds it funny that just a little sip from whatever he's drinking is enough to knock him out.

They all get back to the building together, still kinda singing in between laughs and hiccups, stumbling everywhere while Izaack is carrying Francis in his shoulders so easily. They're the last ones arriving to the building, and the reason doorman has to make extra time every saturday just to wait for them (and deal with them). So annoying.

BONUS wild guess I'm not even considering as headcanon bc omg: what if Izaack used to be Nacha's fiance... but then Francis came, they found out abt Anne, everything went down blabla, the despise between them would be so... jeez...

June's portion is small, but I'm sure it's fine. My creative juices were flowing more with this batch anyway, i think.

This was for Jock Week, I drew this when I barely missed it. Oh well, ship art is year round anyway. (Would've been fun tho-)

Father's Day art. Did this quicker than any of the other ones from this month.

A bunch of colored doodles. This is one of the longer ones. Started this before the Father's Day gift, but I finished this after it. I didn't want to use the usual boring gray bg, so I made it two greens.

I drew something else this month for Pride, but it's part of a whole nother group and I don't want it separated from it so this is all for now. I'm not gonna post the pride stuff at the end of next month.

Also, I spent half of this month at my biological mom's place, and I've just been drawing whenever cause I've been doing stuff like events and whatnot. I tried drawing whenever I could. The time zone is different here than at home but only an hour ahead. Its freaky, but I've managed.
