#hello again everyone. how's it going #isat loop #in stars and time #isat fanart #in stars and time fanart #isat #lucabyteart #isat spoilers #so. had this idea Before getting my hands on the artbook and being validated. literally have a voice note from 4:30am on the 8th where #i frantically noted down this just horrid horrid horrid caption because i'd been musing on the sasasap Dress line all day i suppose #just kind of rotating in my brain the way any kind of first time trying on new clothes for them would be .#just absolutely mental breakdown material and not one i think would be recovered from quickly. they hate being in their own skin #like. a lot? like a lot. the collateral of any kind of transfemme read was barely in my mind until it ended up relevant again while i was #actively working on this. because christ that's a bad combo. 2x different forms of body dysphoria in one. maybe even 3x somehow #plus any scenario where they get clothes is... likely gifted. something they react viciously negatively to in game and i doubt #would improve thereafter. just a veritable katamari of disgust and self-loathing #like i was mostly just thinking abt how a lot of our collective depictions of loop being alienated from their body are rather abstract #in a body horror way mostly. on account of loop being more of a metaphor than a person half the time. so i think i wanted to depict #something closer to just. a human level of body dysphoria. no focus on the whole duplicate thing just... raw disgust for the self #but with the addition of recent discussion and playing ball more with the she/her loop and transfem loop angle...#scenario of leaning into femininity to try throw off suspicion on who they are PLUS realising they might want that PLUS the party #trying to use this to bond with them PLUS body dysphoria PLUS new!gender dysphoria PLUS the usual revulsion for wanting and desire #like. that is a catastrophic combination . not coming out of that one without it getting worse for a few weeks thereafter #that's a real lash out at everyone around them and then recede in shame type breakdown. which im sure looks interesting from #the party's pov because jesus christ that touched a nerve something awful (<- they only have half the context AT BEST)#. so . there's your free scenario to ponder on if you'd want to. seeing as ive done a picture without a shitload of words on it for once #ALSO don't get smart with me in the tags about the mirror test being an absolutely ass test in most regards re: self-awareness #or that things like minnows pass it. i'm a fellow pedant dont worry. it's just that minnow doesn't really have the same ring as dog yknow?#this is supposed to be like an absolutely excruciatingly self loathing thought spoken aloud of a caption. it's pithy and cruel on purpose #and more than a little inspired by (reblogged yesterday) liminal space's 'there is no other dog. it's just you'

Just an 11 year old pissed off at the world it seems😭

#insane he ended up being so happy go lucky in canon #like in the art book they talk about the character shift dewey had once ben auditioned #and he made them realize they could take a more comedic approach with him #but initially dewey’s character seemed very negative and irritable #they had the label ‘the bad boy’ of the 3 on him for a bit too #bc of the massive chip on his shoulder and how unsatisfied he was at the time #and tbh you can see bits of that in the pilot #dewey’s character and overall demeanor is very different in the first two eps of s1 #i LOVE my boy as the bright impulsive ball of sunshine and danger that he is #but this original pitch of him intrigues me a lot #like i can talk about pitch!dewey for hours bc #kinda feels like wasted potential idk LMAO #bc he didn’t entirely disappear at least in s1 so #just a lot of dewey thoughts #bc that’s my boy🫶#ducktales #ducktales 2017 #dewey duck

Not to be one of the people dooming, and honestly, I appreciate people's optimism about buddie, but I really do think they're just ship baiting at this point. All the "well, they set up so much and they're just going to take their time with it" doesn't work here. Because if our arguments were that they were introducing the concept for the general audience, then that doesn't matter anymore when we're several months out from s9. The general audience is not going to remember the buddie sideplots that happened at the halfway point of the previous season. Especially when Bobby dying is the big takeaway from this season. Without something concrete in this episode, there's no reason for them to go through with buddie anymore. It's going to be too far separated. And that's not even to mention that Tim is absolute shit at planning anything at all.

This episode was a reset. Nothing important happened. They "wrapped up" loose threads and put everyone back where they started the season. Only difference is no Bobby this time. This episode was just a repeat of 6x18.

That doesn't mean they can't do buddie next season. But they set it up in a way that actually would have worked this season, only to drop any possible threads in the finale. I don't think that bodes well. Because all that's likely to happen is the exact same thing again. They set things up in a way they could sell in the first half, Tim gets distracted, everything gets pushed back, and we end up right back here.

I don't think progress toward any story at all for any character is ever going to actually manifest with Tim at the helm of this show, to be honest.

#honestly would be willing to bet he's saving it for the series finale #so he sets things up before they get the renewal. they get the renewal. and pushes it back again. further and further.#not a good look #and especially frustrating because they fumbled queer buck so hard #and i could have forgiven that better if there had been more progress on the buddie front to explore a meaningful relationship for him #but they're not selling that either #so anyway #i'm out #buddie was the only thing keeping this show afloat for me and they dropped the ball too damn hard #anyway #911 spoilers #911 negativity #buddie #buddie dooming #is that a tag?? i don't know

negative attention vs positive attention feels the same to looey, but not to shrimpo

I feel as though Wild Kratts is going to redeem one/more/all of its villains before Season 7 ends; I don't know, I feel it in my bones and I don't know how to feel about it.

#wild kratts #wk #zach varmitech #donita donata #gaston gourmand #This is all hypothetical #but like #I feel as though since they got away with the Paisley twist in the first special of the season #They think they can try to do it again with another villain #And again I have no way of proving this as even a remote possibility #but at the same time no one could've predicted that fucking Paisley Paver of all characters was going to have a redemption #In fact during the hiatus people expected the exact OPPOSITE #I can't shake this from my mind and I'm leaning more towards the negative side of things #I feel like Paisley's redemption was easier to digest because we had less time of her as a villain: Which WAS a writing problem but ->#it opens the potential for her character post-betrayal: And she at least wasn't guilty of half of the sh*t that the other vilains did #Which is also why I think if they do pull this route they should do it with Rex #or even Dabio #I can't in good faith imagine Zach/Donita/Gourmand turning good after all the sh*t they pulled for almost 8 seasons of the entire show #And even if they do it in a way that's marginally good they'd have to add new villains to make up for the 74% of conflict they've neutered #which I don't think they'd do #I don't know this is all just me spit-balling but I genuinely needed to get it off my chest #We've 4 weeks until the hiatus ends so let's see if this is just me being randomly opinionated or the God of Prophecy deciding to strike me
