I've been really kind of wanting to go back and redraw an lu thing or two because I have definitely grown SO MUCH as an artist since I made all those (like 4 years ago for some of them!!! CRAZY)

OMG!!!! Yay! “Warriors is Hyrule’s [redacted] fic!”

it’s hard to not also ask for more “Brethren in a Cradle”, but I must know more! I love progress snippets.

Hehe, the premise of this one isn’t too hard to figure out, but it’s fun being mysterious lol. Warriors and Hyrule are such a favorite duo of mine, I love them sm <3

Hyrule stood in a bit of a daze, and only snapped out of it when Warriors dropped to a knee, breathing heavily. The traveler stumbled to his side, lowering himself as well and looking over him for any severe injury.

“I-I’m all right,” Warriors panted, voice shaky as he wiped a hand across his forehead. “Just takes... takes a lot out of me.”

Hyrule nodded, his own exhaustion making itself known again as he slumped against the captain.

“That was amazing,” he said breathlessly, sounding awed. Warriors shot him a tired grin, his breath starting to slow as the adrenaline faded.

“Liked that did you? Little... trick I figured out during the war. Nothing like a magical fire dragon to cut down on numbers.”

Hyrule shook his head in amazement.

“That’s fantastic. Do you know how it works? Like, is it all the rod, or are you powering it?” he asked, curiosity overpowering his exhaustion.

“I’m powering it,” Warriors said after thinking it over a moment. “The rod is like an enhancer for magic, I channel what I’ve got through it and it comes out stronger. Helps focus it as well, not all of us can just use our hands,” he said with a grin at Hyrule. “But the rod’d be useless if I had zero magical ability.“

I waffled on this one a bit because I’m highly partial to Wild since his games were my first Zelda games.

But probably Sky. He’s a very interesting combination of traits, being both very soft and gentle but coming in with being a very powerful swordsman and, ya know, the godkiller. It makes him a lot of fun to beat up write.

I actually worked on the latest chapter a bit over vacation lol. The only obstacle rn is I need to reread the entire fic to ensure I’m on the right track plot wise. So it’s prolly gonna be a bit longer before I update

Here’s a snippet from chapter 10!

He had contemplated running. As he had endured the long hours until sunrise, lying in a bed still damp with his sweat and cold from the nighttime chill, as he had listened to the thunder and rain battling outside of his window, drowning out Cree’s soft snoring, his breaths (still too fast not to betray the frantic energy fluttering about within his chest)…he had considered it. Seriously.

Not away from the Shadow, of course. He is terrified to be certain. Almost as much as he was when Demise had torn him apart, and in those final moments when he had known with horrible certainty that the breaths he inhaled were his last.

(Though, perhaps, that was not terror at all that had driven away the pain encompassing him, that had blurred his vision, softened the scenes of destruction surrounding him. No, that was regret. Heavy, smothering, yet unable to reach him through the haze of terrible acceptance.)

(Death had come and he had lacked the strength to resist it.)

Nevertheless, he is terrified, yes. But that does not give him the right to be a coward.

No, he had yearned to run far from this place full of kindhearted people, this place that he and Hylia had dragged out of the ashes of his failure, crafted with bloodied, broken fingers and sent high, too high for evil to scale and destroy.

(Too high for either of them to reach.)

The sky had called to him through the open window, promising escape, promising protection for those he cares so deeply for. It had been so tantlizing…

But the fact remains that the Shadow is not solely after him. Whether or not he can view Link’s actions, it changes very little about his mission.

He wants all of the heroes. Not just one. No amount of distance Link manages to put between himself and them will aid them if the Shadow attacks. After all, they were the main targets. He was merely a pawn.

That cursed beast will not come for him first.

So, no, escape is not an option, no matter how it beckons.

Play Fighting: Wind and Twilight

“Haha! I am the Fierce Deity, and I shall smite thee! Now die, foul creature!” Wind brandished a pair of sticks in one hand at the ranch hand. 

Twilight grinned. He swapped the boots he’d been oiling for his shield and the nearest branch—a rather pathetic, willowy twig.

Twilight raised a brow. “What am I supposed to be against that sort of power? He’s too unbeatable.”

“Fine! Then I’m a Zora!” Wind grabbed kept the longer of the two branches and tossed the other to Twilight. “Come at me, big monster! Hiyah!”

“Alright then, I’m one of Wild’s electric lizalfos,” Twilight hunched his shoulders and held the branch like a spear.

“Wait, wait!” Wild pulled something from his pouch, and began to cackle, “Twi! Haha! Twi, here,” Wild held out a cheap bone spear and a blue blanket, “But you’ve got to put this on too!” His face was flushed with laughter as he handed it over. 

It wasn’t a blanket at all, Twilight realized. It was a lizolfos mask. 

“No fair!” Wind objected. 

 “I’ve got you covered too,” Wild tossed him an ornate trident. “It’s a replica. Pretty cheap, so don’t worry about breaking it.”

Twilight put on the mask as the rest of the chain peered over to see what had Wild in such a state.

(I wish I had words to describe Warrior’s face, but that’s all I got so far. Hope it made you smile a little like your stories have for me!)

The Broken Doll - Part 1

This is a part of a story I'm currently working on. This story is about the second doll that Hyrule "uses" after meeting The Chain.

I didn't give a title on the first page of the comic so you can't guess it, unless you read this description first before reading the comic 😅.

I like to think that he could have like allergy asthma? A lot of different pollens and allergens that he wouldn’t be exposed to.

I forgot about the high altitude athletes!! That’s so true.

Asthmatic Sky: Yes or No? And why?

I like reading fics with that premise, but I don’t write him that way myself because it’s not how I imagine him. I actually believe he has fantastic lung capacity compared to a lot of them, breathing such thin air.

I once went jogging in Forks, Washington. I went with a friend who had an interest in those books, you know the ones. I went along because RAINFOREST! Heck yes! Anyway, I went for a jog in the woods near the beach and WOW! I felt like I could run for an extra mile with all that rich oxygen in the air! So I imagine Sky is like high-altitude athletes- he’s got the advantage, and can also hold his breath longer than most as a result. And have you seen the man swim?!?! He’s a friggin spinning dolphin torpedo! So writing him with asthma is great, love those fics, but I like my headcannon too.
