I wonder if Nintendo really expects me to believe two 18-24 year olds spent at least one whole year together after a hundred years apart without a single move being made, or if they'll just be like "yeah okay maybe some things happened off-screen... but don't think about it go build some mechs and fuse rocks together"

— Counting Roses ! Remus Lupin x reader
| Summary; different numbers of roses mean different things. Of course, Remus knows them all {582 words}
| Warnings; 18+! Remus survived the war, mention of marriage, an allude to sex (I guess?), established relationship, Remus being corny, and just general fluffiness
* * *
Remus finds your hand in the dark, something that seemed to come to both of you naturally. He interlocks your fingers with his as you sleep, tracing a line on the back of your hand with his thumb.
You start to stir, a mix of needing to be closer to him, and the shine casting a ray through the blinds causing you to bury your face in his chest and hum in the newfound satisfaction of his warmth. He rubs a hand up and down your bare back. “Good morning, my love,” he whispers into your hair.
You simply hum in response, trying to get closer to him, to which he laughs and pulls you as close as he possibly could. “It’s almost noon.”
“I don’t care,” you respond, the gravel still prevalent in your sleepy voice. “You’re more important.”
He laughs. A deep tone that proves to be music to your ears as butterflies erupt in your stomach. “I am not more important than you keeping your job. You gotta get up, sweetheart.”
“Yes, you are,” you argue, but nonetheless pull yourself from his hold to sit up. He follows suit, a smile on his oh-so-beautiful face. He presses a kiss on your cheek before holding your jaw as he turns you to face him in order to kiss your lips.
It’s his smile afterward that has you melting under his touch. The very thing that drew you to him in the first place. It was bright and happy, something he hadn’t felt in a long time, but was still shone through the way he smiled as he looked at you. You’d only known him for a few days at that point, but something had felt so… right about him.
And then he gave you a rose, nervously mumbling something about what it meant. You put it in a vase when you got home, setting it on your nightstand in hopes that your cat wouldn’t knock it down. Somehow, a year after that moment, and defying the laws of nature, it was still alive sitting next to you on the stand. You thought maybe he had placed a spell on it to make it last so long, but he denied every allegation of it.
Now, there were three in the vase, all still alive and well. Each given to you at a significant point in your relationship. The first when he realized he was in love, the second when he realized you were the one, and the third when he asked you to marry him.
Remus caught you staring at them. “Do you remember what it means?” He asks, putting a shirt on. It was the first time you noticed he ever got up.
You smile, just as happy and bright as his once was. “Yeah.”
“So, tell me what it means.”
You giggled, turning to him. “Love at first sight.”
“That’s what the first meant,” he says, taking a seat next to you again. “What do they all mean?”
You think for a moment, trying to stir up the answer, but your mind runs blank. “I don’t know, Remmy. I didn’t even know the others had a meaning.” you smile nervously.
He cups your cheek. “They mean ‘I love you’, silly.”
You laugh. Of course, it was that obvious. “You love me?” you fake surprise, a hand coming up to your heart.
He shakes his head in amusement, leaning in to kiss you once more. “I love you to death.”
* * *
| All interaction is appreciated! My asks are always open :)

what enhypen members needs to work on
to become the best version of themselves
( disclaimer: please do remember to take my readings with a grain of salt. i am in no way a professional tarot reader and all of this are alleged and is for entertainment purposes only. )
yang jungwon
ten of swords
somehow swords always shows up to him. what he really needs to work on is his are emotions and his charasteristic where he has no confidence at all. low self esteem. he tends to burden himself with responsibilities alot. so it would be better if he starts on working on himself not for the sake of others but for his own sake alone.
he may have the mentality to always feel or need to catch others for their own problems? i dont wanna cause issues, but whenever i do a reading on jungwon he always feels burned out, exhausted, and sad. it seems like he wants to crave validation from people. someone who could feel what he feels. he doesnt show his emotions alot. so it would be a really great start to befriend with a non-toxic circle and a non toxic environment that understands why hes like he is and why its hard with opening up.
lee heeseung
king of pentacles in reverse
oh what he needs to work on are his characteristics of being overly workaholic and stubborn at times. he may be too quick on his shoes especially if it involves his work without even roughly thinking about the consequences he might face and things he might lose along the way. as long as theres a starter lane he can run over its already enough for him. theres times he might leave things as it is if it doesn’t benefit him anymore.
heeseung has the tendencies to lose touch with the reality too, he might be overly intune with the idealism world he creates. sometimes losing touch with the reality has its side effects. (nothing bad about dreaming, he just might be into it that he might start to abandon it will actually need consistent hardwork) so he should work on these things to improve his life and become the best version of himself.
park jongseong
wheel of fortune - queen of pentacles
i was wondering what the wheel of fortune meant cause this doesnt seem like something that could be worked on. its one of the major symbolic cards. probably the only thing i could consider as slightly negative is where it will always have ups and downs. its a wheel after all—and in every transition, a big change occurs. so anyway, i pulled for confirmation and queen of pentacles came out. well—with the former card, it might be true in a sense that fate are always there for him. however we should take queen of pentacles into an account. he may take responsibilities for his loved ones too much so he should tone it down. things dont always look good just because it is for the external. best believe as unfortunate it sounds being a giver always causes troubles too. may tend to neglect himself while taking focus on the others thinking it could help him. so he should work on this :) hes too nurturing it backfires him.
sim jaeyun
two of wands
2 of wands, for jake to become the best version of himself—he should learn to focus on his personal goals. tha card shows a man standing holding an earth (or basically his world) with his right hand and a wand in his left, and with my own interpretation, it’s saying him that jake should learn to focus more on what’s infront of him than just standing. its the actions that matters. you cant be standing for so long or you could be left behind. he should learn not to settle for less with this. he may always be indecisive too—whether he should just stand and stay, or move forward by wanting more. he may be a thinker more than a taker. or like idealistic more than realistic. though there’s the passion, drive don’t do everything. he needs his own resolve so he could become the best version of himself.
park sunghoon
queen of wands
another wands, though queen of wands may mostly have an uplifting and positive meaning, this could also mean that sunghoon may have tendencies to be too self centered because of his confidence with his individuality. may be too independent as well. he should learn how to rely on others too as too much independence can cause you to isolate with others making it hard to open up his scars and wounds. he may be the type to be closed off yet helps with people with their own certain circumstances with his drive and force? just really not with himself which causes this destruction. so its really adviced for him to be communicative. (ive noticed most enha are not really great with communication and would rather keep it all by themselves, including sunghoon himself) like though they might everything’s alright already it might not be? sunghoon needs to stay still and allow others to walk through his inner. its not bad to be dependent sometimes.
kim sunoo
the tower in reverse
tower in reverse.. it seems like sunoo doesn’t face his personal problems because he believes walking through it causes more trouble than running away. so he turns his back instead. sunoo’s always scared to change that it becomes a toxic repetitive cycle. this seems like it will not change any time soon either. he will try and try to resist any transitions until it exhausts him. he may have low self esteem which causes this. sunoo doesn’t really see a light behind the darkness? neither would like to change this cycle. he would rather keep running instead of facing it. change are inevitable, sunoo should learn how to take this into an account and accept the undeniable transformations that needs to be taken for the future as this is a major part when growing up. (as much as i wouldve loved to deep dive more and pull a card but i dont think im allowed further. such heavy energy, this is all i can do.)
nishimura riki
the hanged man in reverse
the hanged man usually symbolizes detachment, discontentment and impulsiveness. these are what riki should take into an account for him to become the best version of himself. he seems to be the type to make his impulsiveness a mechanism to direct the fact that he always feels low, like just so he could feel thrill. he’s young so there seems to be days where impulsiveness takes over. im seeing impatience in his part as well. a bit naive. originally in the upright—we can see the man hanging there by his own free will, but this is in reversed—so im seeing some certain circumstances where he just let people control him rather than fighting for what he feels symbolizes him more. or hes standing in standards that doesn’t align with his will. this could also be the problem. he should learn how to let his thinking be aligned with his will. impulsiveness are not always the answer. he shouldnt retrain himself just because others said so. he needs how to form his own freedom of speech lol.

Word Count: 1.8K | masterlist
(gif is not mine)
You had first met Wanda and Natasha when you were tasked with being the Avengers’ liaison. You were tasked to handpick missions that you believed required the attention of the heroes and assigned team members onto those missions.
You worked very closely with the team, you even lived with them in the compound for convenience. In the time spent working for them, you had grown super close to everyone; most especially Nat and Wanda.
It first started off with the pair going into your office, always asking for missions. You had found it odd considering they never took a break. You didn’t understand why they’d seek out missions when they were clearly exhausted. You figured that maybe they just loved helping people so much that they got excited and anxious for missions, but little did you know what their true intentions were.
They wanted to spend time with you. They wanted to observe you close up and not across a conference table. They wanted to know everything there was to know about you. As creepy as it was, they wanted to get close enough to know what you smelt like. They wanted to know what your lips tasted like. They wanted the relationship with you to surpass professionalism.
Eventually, the two Avengers stopped asking for missions when they came in; they just went to your office for the sake of going there. They’d bring you various lunches every single day and shower you with small compliments.
You’d brushed it off as the women being very good friends that just so happened to be flirts. You were wrong. They were interested in you, in the same way you were in them. You couldn’t help but admire the two beautiful women.
Their green eyes, fit bodies, and kind smiles were a recipe for disaster, in the best way possible. With one look, you’d drop to your knees and do whatever they wanted. They just had to say the word and you would do it, no hesitation. Yeah, it sounds absolutely ridiculous, but it’s painfully and embarrassingly true.
Over the course of time, you had grown closer to Wanda and Nat. Your daily lunches turned into daily movie nights and dinners too. You saw them all the time and you didn’t mind it one bit.
They finally asked you out after a year of spending time with and getting closer to you. It was safe to say, you instantly agreed with a smile on your face as you let out an, “of course! fucking finally!”
•❅────────✧❅✦❅✧─────────❅•
Now, you had been dating the two women for five years. Yeah, it’s been a long ass time, but it still wasn’t enough for you. You wanted to spend forever with Wanda and Nat.
You wanted to get an actual house in the suburbs together. Not an apartment in the middle of New York, but a place you could call home. You craved the domesticity of it all.
You wanted to settle down and have kids with them somehow; whether it be by adoption or via surrogate. You just wanted to have a family of your own with the two woman you loved more than anyone or anything in the universe.
So, you’ve been sneaking around trying to keep your secret, well… a secret. You were planning on proposing to your girlfriends. Yes, this was a very huge step in a relationship, but you felt as though it was the right time. You guys had been together for five years! You were practically married to them already!
You would sneak off suddenly during your usual movie nights with Wanda and Nat or before breakfast to go and meet with different jewelers. You didn’t want to go into a store and buy their rings. That was not an option in the slightest. They were special and deserved special rings. They needed rings that were as unique and one of a kind as they were. It’s what Wanda and Nat deserved.
So, you were constantly leaving, whether it be early in the morning or the late hours of the night, on the search for someone who could make your ideas for their rings, a reality. You would hide your phone from Wanda and Nat’s view and even changed your passcode in order to prevent them from finding out. You’d face your phone down whenever you left it in a room with the pair, as well.
Unfortunately, in your excitement of what was to come, you didn’t realize how suspicious your behavior had been. You figured that you were being pretty discreet, coming up with pretty believable excuses. You even had some of the team help you with your lies, since you let them know what you had planned.
However, you forgot you were dating a world class spy and a witch. You were wrong, obviously. As each day passed, your girlfriends worried and assumed the worst. They let their minds spiral and searched for worst case scenarios. The worst one of all seeming the most likely; infidelity. They came to the conclusion that you were cheating on them.
•❅────────✧❅✦❅✧─────────❅•
Natasha and Wanda cried to one another on one of the nights you bolted off and zoomed out of the apartment with a lame excuse.
Wanda sat on the couch as Nat held her in her arms. They both had tears cascading down their faces as their thoughts were plagued by you; by your supposed betrayal.
“How? How could she do this to us? After everything we’ve been through? She’s goes and cheats on us?” Wanda spoke brokenly as she released a sob. Natasha pulled Wanda closer, the Sokovian woman placing her head in the crook of Nat’s neck.
“I don’t know. I really don’t know, Wanda. All I know is, this can’t go on any longer.” Natasha spoke, trying to keep her voice steady, but her voice failed her. She came out shaky as the sadness and hurt seeped in. You had betrayed them, or so they thought.
They sat there in the same position, waiting for your return. Finally, four hours later. You had come back to the apartment.
You were ecstatic as you made your way up to the front door. You finally found a jeweler that could make the perfect rings for Wanda and Nat! You couldn’t wait to get on one knee and present the rings to the two women who would forever hold your heart. You were over the moon excited right now.
However, your joy was quickly wiped away the second you stepped foot into the apartment. You took in the sight of Wanda and Natasha on the couch, staring at you with dried and fresh tears on their faces. You instantly shut the door and tossed your keys onto the counter as you rushed towards your girlfriends worriedly.
“Nat, Wands, what’s wrong loves?” You asked as you approached them, but Natasha abruptly stood up before you could get too close.
“Don’t you take another fucking step!” Nat snapped at you, and you stumbled backwards a little, in total shock. Your concern increased as you looked between the fuming redhead and the heartbroken looking brunette.
“Did something happen? What’s wrong?” You were so confused and desperately wanted to comfort your girlfriends. You don’t recall doing anything that could anger and upset them this much.
“Yeah, something happened. Our girlfriend is a fucking pathetic, cheating ass bitch who can’t keep it in her pants.” Natasha spoke with venom dripping from her tone. You literally let out a gasp, her words physically hurting you.
“What the hell are you talking about? I’m not cheating on you guys! I love you both more than you guys could even imagine!” You raised your voice, getting frustrated with the situation.
Wanda suddenly stood up and stuck beside Nat. She stared at you with anger clouding her sadness now.
“You’re not cheating on us? Then why the hell have you been running off at weird hours of the day? Why have you been hiding your phone from us?” Wanda began to fire a bunch of questions towards you.
You froze in your place. The answers to their questions weren’t what they thought they would be. The true answers were the complete opposite of cheating, you were acting weird because you were planning on proposing! But you couldn’t tell them that!
You stood silently as the two women stared at you, breathing heavily. They took your silence as confirmation of their suspicions.
“We fucking knew it. You’re a fucking joke, Y/N. Were we not enough for you? Was two women not enough for you?” Wanda inched her way towards you, eyes glowing red.
You backed away, not in fear, but in sadness. You really wished you could tell them the real reasons behind your behavior, but you couldn’t without blowing up your surprise.
“Did you really think you could go behind our backs without us noticing?” Wanda continued to stalk towards you, like she was about to murder you.
“I swear to you both, I would never, ever, cheat on you guys. You’re both more than enough for me. You’re my home, I’d never jeopardize that.” You tried to convince your girlfriends to believe you, but they weren’t having it.
“Stop lying to us!” Wanda screamed out as she sent you flying back with a scarlet colored blast as she used her powers on you. Your back connected with the front door as you groaned. That was going to be a huge bruise later, for sure.
“I’m not lying. When have I ever lied to you both, huh? Why the fuck would I start now?” You asked exasperatedly as you stood up slowly. You cringed at the pain radiating from your back.
“And here you go again, more lies coming out of your slutty mouth. The fucking nerve you have, Why don’t you go and fuck whoever you’ve been seeing and leave us alone?” Natasha spoke as she moved forward, placing her hand firmly on Wanda’s waist.
Before you even have the chance to speak, Wanda opened the door with her powers and tossed you out of the apartment. She abruptly slammed the door in your face. Wanda and Nat’s angry, pain-filled faces and scarlet colored magic being the last things you saw before the door blocked your vision with a harsh slam.
You sat on the ground in front of the door in shock. They thought you were cheating on them. They didn’t want anything do with you now. What the fuck were you supposed to do now? What did this mean for your proposal? Should you cancel on the jeweler? Or should you hold out hope and pray that they’ll hear you out eventually?
All you did know was that your proposal had been ruined regardless. Whether you told them about your plans or not, the moment was doomed the minute they began to suspect cheating.
Withholding the information from them, caused them to push you away. But now that you look at it, if you had just told them about the proposal, you’d at least be in their arms right now and not on the floor of your apartment complex hallway with tears streaming down your face.
You were at a loss, and you didn’t know if you could gain back the trust of the women you loved.

in fall & bloom | doyeon
disclaimer: top!fem reader x bottom!doyeon, mention of blood.
your shouts of glee resonate through the bustling streets of the city, pedestrians barely catching glimpse of your zooming figures. the autumn breeze is welcoming against your face, the sunlight warm on your skin as you veer the wheels of your bike onto the next street. your eyes occasionally gaze up at the bleeding tangerine sky through the palm branches without crashing into cars, or worse, have you and your passenger tumbling down the descending street.
“wait!” the latter suddenly yelps into your ear. you press the bike to a stop, both feet coming down to graze the gravel, then to finally land firm on the ground.
“you okay?” you ask when the bike’s stabilized, craning your neck to give doyeon a curious gaze just to find her eyeing the small dip laying a few feet away down the street. there's a pretty blush dusting her cheeks, chestnut hair outlining her forehead and even, darker lashes when her eyes glide back to yours in a form of uncertainty. she's wearing green contacts today, further accentuating her piercing gaze along with the dipping sun highlighting streaks of orange and yellow on her features.
“no way we’re going down that path.” she answers, a tone of incredulity in her voice.
“what?” your brows shoot up as you slightly look back at the road – it is a bit steep, but not dangerously so. you turn back to doyeon. “why not?”
doyeon’s eyes squint back at you, fully glaring, face scrunched – most likely wondering how insane you must truly be. but the endearing and dopey smile you offer back is enough to melt her rigid posture.
“they’ll kill you if i die.” is what she ends up saying instead. the light wind sweeps lightly through her hair, conveying the lulling scent of cotton candy and peach perfume.
you laugh, playfully bumping back into her. “wimp.”
“i’m sorry, is my death a joke to you?” she whispers menacingly into your ear, hooking her index through the belt loops of your jeans.
“hilarious, even.” you tease, tilting your head back to pucker your lips. “kiss.”
“no.” she deadpans, encircling your waist. “first, get me down that road in one piece.” you snort at that, “we can just walk our way down, yeonnie. i was kidding.”
“no, i somehow trust you with this.” she gags out, reluctantly. “why do i trust you?” she mutters right after.
“that’s rich, coming from an arsonist.” you muse, sounding utterly contented, a sharp contradiction to doyeon's allegation.
“shut up,” she starts and you just know she’s about to read you. you furtively feign a roll of your eyes, yet, an infatuated smile stays on the edge of your lips. you'll never tell her, but there’s nothing more attractive than when she gets like this. “–told me you would come and pick me up for a walk, not a bike ride. and unless you have short-term mem–” she stops. “stop staring at my lips.”
you laugh, sheepish, then avert your gaze back to the road ahead. “i'm getting my kiss once i drop you off.”
“if i'm still alive.” she says, hooking her chin on your shoulder.
you whine about her being a pessimist bitch and she lightly, though discreetly presses her lips against your jaw. “kidding.” she singsongs, squeezing your mid.
so you kick off once again. aside from the air being squeezed out of you, you make it down safe and sound. you cycle the both of you through lush paths, to open green fields and watch butterflies fly above, occasionally slowing down the pace of the bike to take it all in. with the scintilla feeling of just the two of you on a bike — blissful with the speed, with the fresh wind in your faces – you’re at home.
doyeon leans the side of her head against your back, letting her eyes take in the beautiful scenery that nature brings. it was nice being able to hold onto you like so, not a care in the world whether she’ll wake up to her name trending on social platforms, or worse, being questioned about her affectionate nature. south korea still has its outdated ideologies, teaching her to enjoy the beauty of whatever it is you’ve started, drawing as much as she can from the light and secretive touches.
unlike her, you no longer seem to focus on the picturesque surroundings. doyeon's hands start having a mind of their own, palms flat on your abdomen, they brush with each movement of your legs on the pedals – and she wastes no time noticing. it's a position she very much enjoys. her eager hands begin to venture areas they’ve never had before. she skims her way up and down your stomach, smiling to herself when she senses you tense. they map their way lower, to the button of your jeans, and without warning, slide up under your sweater. your heart nearly burst from your chest.
the noise that escapes from your throat is a mix of a choke and guttural sound. “christ, doyeon!” you breathe, scandalized. “we’ll fucking crash!”
the frigid feel of her fingers on your skin almost swerves you off the damn bike.
she only laughs, kissing the back of your neck in an apologetic gesture. she resists the urge to tease for the remainder of the ride, only cooing and every so often – she can’t help herself. she’d caress the area over your ribcage, feeling your heart jump beneath the dainty sweater. you can always excuse it as the intensive exercise you have so willingly put yourself through.
you park the bicycle in front of doyeon’s building and lean slightly forward so your elbows rest onto the handlebar. except doyeon doesn’t budge, she stays put, only shifting to press herself further against you.
“you need to keep your hands to yourself, ma’am.” you reproach with a shake of your head, glancing around to make sure no one, especially from her company, is sighting you. “we really could’ve died, and it would’ve been your fault.”
needless to say, that’s no news to you; doyeon has always been quite blasé towards prudence and authority matters. she has a flair for rebellion, not so much that she wants to go against the grain, but she sustains an innate drive towards doing so, and that includes the blatant flirting she would put on at random times.
“but i can’t keep my hands to myself,” she titters and you feel the vibration all throughout your body. you look back at her with narrowed eyes, and she leans her head comfortably against your shoulder, freely gazing at you through long lashes, a smoldering smile on her pouty lips. “plus, i believe i owe you a kiss.”
there's a shout down the street as kids chase after each other, loaded backpacks swinging and feet banging against the gravel.
“i believe you do, yes.” you concur, squeezing her arms that are still wrapped around your mid. “too much people, though.”
and that’s how she ends up dragging you up to her dorms, barely leaving you time to shut the door close behind you – her lips are on yours. thankfully, no one’s home, or at least in the living room because there’s no scientific reason you could come up with to explain why you’re lip locking with one of korea’s favorite girls.
by some miracle, she manages to maneuver you down the hall and into her room, all the while remaining busy giggling and kissing on each other. you throw yourself on her bed, and she ensues, settling down beside you. your feet dangle off the bed as you both lay horizontally – it’s a comical sight that she makes sure to point out.
you're getting progressively mindful of the warmth in your lower belly, the tingling feeling somewhere in your stomach when you engage her into another kiss. the kiss is wet and slow, experimentally tasting the apricot balm coating her plump lips as you leave the sweetest of promises on them. you tentatively stroke her thighs and in turn, her hands resume its trail under your sweater, across your abdomen in a series of affectionate caresses.
you make certain to be slow and considerate as always. after all, this is the farthest you’ve gone. there's only been kissing so far, nothing more, not even touching. you figured if doyeon is ready, she’ll initiate it. which is exactly what’s happening when she leans slightly over you to unbutton your jeans.
“hey,” you whisper against luscious lips, now swollen and tender, while tenderly cradling her jaw into your palm. “no pressure, okay?”
doyeon stills under your earnest look and runs a hand through her locks, pearly teeth toying with her bottom lip. “i know. i just – i need this.” there isn't so much as a slight hint of uncertainty when the reply escapes her lips. more of an emphatic assertion.
you gently push her back down to hover her body, slowly peppering her neck with kisses and tiny licks. doyeon pushes the rear of your head forward, urging for more, however, you take as much time as necessary. your kisses become unbearably slow, irritating her while also lighting up every nerve and muscle within her body. each wet path your tongue leaves further drenches her panties.
you rise back to her mouth, gradually driving her insane with the laid-back, sluggish brush of your tongue on her lips all without fully pressing them. you tease, altering the angle of your head each time she'd drive forward to capture your lips. without much warning, doyeon’s teeth are sinking into your lip, biting harder when you take her sensitive nipple between the spaces of your fingers.
a dainty spill of blood streams down your lip, further startling you when she soothes over the texture with her tongue, gaze darkening as she stares directly into your hooded eyes. “stop fucking with me.” she hisses.
“and since when are you so fucking demanding?” you moan, there’s no denying how turned on and heated the little backtalk makes you. she grinds her hips against yours as your lips crash into hers in a searing fiery kiss. your hands cup her face, both of your tongues rolling, playing and sliding against each other. she’s sucking and biting at your bottom lip, tongue thrusting forward. you close your lips around it and suck with an appreciative moan. god, you could eat her right then.
in the midst, your hands roam over her breasts, fingers pulling her nipples through the thin fabric of her shirt. she breaks the kiss to throw her head back and gasps as you pinch and pull harder at them.
“oh fuck.” with that, she’s once again snaking her hands up your shirt, feeling over your warm skin and bunching the fabric up for you to take off. you grab the hem and slide it off you while the rest slowly comes off in the middle of feverish kisses and explorative touches.
you take to straddle her hips, admiring the pale skin of her tight abdomen with a rapacious curiosity. you gently fondle her pert breasts into your hands, pondering whether to tear the bra keeping you from making skin-to-skin contact. compelling, but an attempt at it will cost you your head – so you contempt yourself by sneaking them underneath the band, relishing in the pretty little sounds rippling out through her lips.
“you like that, don’t you?” you purr out quietly, rubbing your thumbs over the aching, hard peak against your hand.
“harder.” she mewls, torso arching and pushing just to feel more of that pain mixing in with pleasure.
you lean down, a dark glint in your eyes as you bite and tug at her bra’s fabric, she grows wetter at the sight and feel of your warm breath ghosting on her nipples. she wraps her legs around your mid to cage you in, her hand tangling into your hair when you bite down onto her nub. she's letting out a soft cry when your tongue pokes at the tip before sucking the nub into your mouth, pulling on the flesh and grazing the surface, just enough to leave reddened markings on the flesh.
“ooh–” she gasps, breath labored, gripping tightly into your hair as you give the same treatment to the other pair, rolling the tender flesh between your fingers. you're positioned much lower so you rise slightly back up her body so your cores are touching and snap your hips down against hers. it turns her world upside down; everything tingles from her head to her toes as you repeat the motion over and over again.
you lean up to peck her lips, setting an accommodating pace for you both that has doyeon rising up to meet each grind.
she watches you with unfiltered lust; hands coasting down your face, to your shoulders and arms for a few moments, then cupping around the back of your neck and back down to squeeze your breast. she truly cannot keep her hands off of you. “i want it from behind.” there’s always been something impressive, fervent, in the classic simplicity and directness that is doyeon. it still catches you off guard, agape and sputtering. you stop.
with the majority of your thoughts gone, head clouded with wanton pleasure, you’re unsure of what you exactly heard; you ask again, throat closing around the words. “from behind?”
doyeon's brow quirk in a form of amusement, seeming lucid enough to poke fun at you, but still far from collected. the column of her neck is flushed red, eyes low and glazed – she’s beyond gorgeous. “i don’t have a strap, but your fingers will do,” she shoots you a coy look. “so, fuck me from behind.”
you blink slowly. “alright.” you say, heart clenching in what could only be a mix of amazement, lust, anticipation and anything that can match up a synonym in the dictionary. "roll over for me.”
and she does just that, not before unclasping her bra. it falls down her shapely shoulders, exposing her tiny breasts that your mouth begs to take back in. she gets on all fours, back arching and head craning back to stare you down, challenge in her gaze. “better do your best.”
goose bumps break all over her body as you seize her by the shape of her waist, almost taking her up on the challenge. unfortunately, there was only so much you can leave on doyeon’s body. as much as you want to taint her body red with unique markings, she has an image to maintain so it’ll simply have to wait.
you pull her panties down the gracious curve of her ass, leaving it to slip softly down her thighs then off her legs. your hands caress the silky, supple skin appreciatively, tracing over the dip of her waist to the back of her thighs. you give each of her ass cheeks a hard slap, heart pounding with each moan of hers – you’d think she’s used to this.
"come onnn," she whines, pressing back against you.
"relax." you hum, stroking your hand up and down the long of her back, relishing in the way it freely glides. you gently nudge her knees apart and kneel down behind her. the slight bit of slickness trickling down her lips prompts you to give her a few long strokes of your index, doyeon moans and arches her back further down as the same finger gives hot pleasure within her.
“you’re so pretty.” you compliment, fully admiring all esoteric aspects of her body like a tulip about to bloom – the ones who shimmer in the afternoon and reaches to glow of sunshine- as you start licking between her folds, taking your sweet time to lap every drop of her slick melting down her center. you mouth along her swollen clit through the poetic pleasure rolling into every part of her body, spiking in every nerve ending.
you bury your face farther amid the girl’s puffy folds, licking with passion in your movement, your hands gripping her thighs as you lap away at her hole, occasionally reaching up to flicker across her clit and fling her whole body in a mass of spasm.
your sleeked fingertips gradually begin prodding her entrance, easily sliding between the folds, remaining slow and cautious as to not hurt her. doyeon's nails dig into the comforter, unfamiliar pain lightly shooting up her core and spine.
“you alright?” you ask; there is a tiny waver in your voice, concern and apologetic.
“i-” she sucks air through her teeth, “yeah. keep going.”
reluctant, but complying, you extract your index to replace with your thumb. you hope this helps to start small and later on, prep her to take more. she pants softly, eyes teary and unfocused as her body attempts to choose whether she wants to rock back into your hand, stay rooted at the feeling of being stretched or flee from the unfamiliar pain that’s snaking down her thighs.
you thumb through her opening with consoling words along soothing circles of your hand on her lower back. it diverts her from the pain and creeping pleasure probing inside of her. you extend the process, her gradual whines climbing in octaves when she’d try jerking away from a certain spot being brushed by your inquisitive finger. you'd have to grab her by the elegant curve of the waist, pull her back and keep her in place.
it's just a matter of time before she’s past dripping, pleading and moaning for more. hips inclined back, accentuating the fluid lines of her back; she's crying in nothing but divine ecstasy as you switch back to your index. you draw it out until just the tip is in, then plunge it back in her wet tightness. needless to say, she doesn’t simply see the stars but the cosmos in all its entirety before her eyes.
reiteration of strangled sounds and gasps spill from her lips when you start steadily pumping in and out. she tries stifling them by shoving her head down in the covers, not because she wants to be discreet but rather her embarrassment in hearing those sounds coming from herself – they're melodic, symphonic even, to your ears.
it's something doyeon finds herself loving – the feeling of being handled and taken care of. the knowledge that she can easily be reduced to a messy state if you so desired (as one would expect, you’d have to work for it). doyeon's thighs shake with more thrusts of your fingers reaching deep – and she takes it all, with great difficulty, but it’s a start. her eyes flutter closed as the thick stretch that your fingers amply provide, turn into blissful pleasure to bring her closer to her release.
"how about another?" you ask over the high pitched whines. "can you do that?"
"i don–" you swipe your thumb over her clit and her breath catches in her throat before going back to ball the sheets into her hand. you encourage her with a squeeze on her thigh. "yes, yes."
you add your middle finger, cursing at how tight she is, her spasmic muscles start clenching around you. that's all it takes.
in less than a second, your digits are coated in juices and sleek is sliding down her legs as you easily coax her into a slow, staggering orgasm. she bucks her hips up with one last startled moan and you look on, smug, gently twisting your fingers through the slight burn of her orgasm until she slumps down on her stomach with a silent scream.

atsumu was like the sun. he shined and glowed and warmed people just by being near them. without a single thought, he was able to brighten the mood in ways that no one else could. even on his darker days or when his being felt too harsh, he left an impact that made everyone long for more. you couldn’t always see him, couldn’t always feel his presence, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t there somehow, unseen but known.
by association, that sort of made you the moon. you could shine brightly and leave a warm glow and comfort others when they felt like they were in the dark. but all of that wasn’t possible without the sun. without atsumu.
people didn’t know you unless you were by atsumu’s side. they didn’t spare you a glance until atsumu brought attention to you. but you didn’t mind. all you wanted was to have him by your side, to support you when you couldn’t hold yourself up, to be brilliant beside him even if you would never outshine him. you were content in your current situation.
so why did it hurt so much seeing him continue to shine? why did his warmth suddenly feel so cold? why couldn’t you be as bright as him all on your own?
or, atsumu will always be the sun, you always the moon. maybe now it’s time to accept that you’re nothing without him so you can finally shine for yourself.

atsumu has a gravitational pull, that much has always been clear to you and everyone else; a pull so strong that you can’t help but orbit around him. every room he walks into, he commands the attention of everyone present. one can’t help but simply be drawn to him — with his bright smiles, boisterous laughs, and larger than life movements. it’s no wonder why everything seems to bend to his will, how the universe seems to revolve around him.
you’ve moved around him for as long as you can remember, every now and then, he lets you borrow his light. the world has associated you with him and you don’t blame anyone one bit.
his name has always come first. setter for the inarizaki volleyball team, miya atsumu. invited to the all-japan youth intensive training camp, miya atsumu. captain of the inarizaki volleyball team, miya atsumu. setter for division one volleyball team, the msby black jackals, miya atsumu.
meanwhile, yours is treated as an afterthought, an attachment, a footnote in the awe-inspiring narrative of his life. you’re known as his childhood friend. his best friend, the one who cheers him on from the stands in every single one of his games. alleged significant other, according to whispers in the hallway and to the tabloids and paparazzi. his eventual confirmed significant other, ln yn.
atsumu and who’s that with him? atsumu and his best friend. atsumu and his significant other. atsumu, oh, and yn’s here too. it’s always atsumu before yn; his name before yours. sometimes, you wonder if anyone would know your name if he hadn’t started dating you.
you walk behind atsumu, not beside him, when you enter a room. fingertips loosely intertwined with his, you attempt to keep your head up as atsumu introduces you around. they spare you a quick “hi”, before beginning a conversation with your sun.
though he’s not really your sun, is he? you’ve always had to share him with everyone else. everyone needs a little sunshine in their life, a little warmth; his brilliance is dazzling, like everyone else, you revelled in his glow.
the world has always associated you with him, but it never worked the other way around. atsumu has always shined on his own; you needed him to have light for yourself.
~
no one blames the sun for burning a little too bright; it’s simply the way it is. similarly, you’ve never blamed atsumu for being the way he is. he doesn’t know, didn’t mean to do it in the first place. atsumu has always existed for himself, lived life the way he sees fit.
you can’t blame him, no matter how much you wanted to. even if you forced yourself to.
staring at the sun is fascinating, but do it long enough and it starts to hurt. the warmth is no longer comforting, but harsh and prickly. the light is no longer magical and dazzling, but blinding and terrifying. it took some time, but you eventually convinced yourself to look away.
“ya sure ya wanna do this?” atsumu asked, immediately recognizing your hesitance. he doesn’t want to break up, he wants you to take your words back, he wants you to tell him that this was all just some sick prank. but right now, it doesn’t matter what he wants. what matters is how you feel, the emotions he didn’t realize you had been feeling.
“no…” you mumbled. the intensity of his gaze makes your knees buckle, but you stand your ground. even in the chilling darkness of his living room, he radiates light and understanding, making everything all the more difficult. you bite the inside of your cheek, letting a few beats pass before your next words, “but i have to.”
“i believe in you,” atsumu nodded, stuffing his hands in the pocket of his jeans. he lets out a quiet exhale, eyes gazing on the suitcases in your hand, “yer gonna do so many amazin’ things.”
your grip on the bag’s handle tightened. it was the end of an era, one that you didn’t expect would be ending at all. but it had to be done. for the first time since you met atsumu, you finally began to think of yourself. a small smile plays on your lips, hoping that he picks up on the pure gratefulness of your tone, “thank you for lending me your light.”
his reply would play in a loop in your mind. even in a breakup, the darkest the night has ever been, atsumu offers you a little bit of light. as expected from the sun.
~
the moon goes through several phases. some days are better than others. it’s a wave of several highs and lows, but you grow to understand that’s how things are. on some nights it’s as invisible as they come, the clouds blocking out what little light it already produced. though it glowed on other nights, you often feel like nothing has changed. but you learn to trust the process either way.
gazing at the moon is calming, not dazzling and exceptional, but calming. it provides peace, serenity. you often gazed at the moon, especially on the nights where you could only toss and turn. a cold breeze would blow past you and send shivers down your spine, painting your bare skin with several goosebumps. leaning on the balcony railing and taking in the sounds of a city that barely slept makes you think of him.
you miss the sun; you miss your sun. you miss his presence and the warmth he brings you. atsumu checks in every now and then, asking how you’re doing and wondering if you’d ever want to meet for a cup of coffee. you’ve never accepted any of his offers for fear of only getting pulled back in.
you’ve never realized that you always had a gravitational pull of your own. atsumu spends most of his nights gazing at the moon. when his heart raced and his mind buzzed, the moon brought him tranquility — as did you, his anchor.
[ miya atsumu ] : the night sky is nice tonight, it makes me think of you. i like that we’re always looking at the same one.
[ miya atsumu ] : i hope you’re doing okay.
he’s right, the night sky does look nice. the moon is full and shining the brightest you’ve ever seen it shine. gleaming, enchanting, and breathtaking doesn’t seem to do its beauty any justice. perhaps the poets and artists had been right all along, the moon is the perfect muse. your thoughts almost convince you that its light isn’t artificial. but twinkling beside the moon are the stars, shimmering high above the world you know, their light completely their own.
you’re not okay. being the moon may not be too bad, but you’ve already realized that you want to be amongst the stars as one.
~
days turn into weeks, and eventually months. sometimes they blend together when nothing of interest or importance happens, though you strive for events that are worth remembering. you’ve found a job that you actually like, one that you truly excelled at. you’ve started to put yourself out there, to meet people that pushed you to be better than you had been the day before. slowly but surely, you began to create your own light.
some days your light faltered, some days are dimmer than others, but it was a light of your own. it’s one that didn’t need another’s glow to exist. soon enough, you find yourself accepting one of atsumu’s many offers for a cup of coffee.
he’s now brighter than ever. setter for division one volleyball team, the msby black jackals, miya atsumu, has turned into setter for japan’s olympic team, miya atsumu. his radiance is as blinding as ever, the largest grin on his face as he waves his hand out the second he caught sight of you.
but you’re brighter now too, weaving through the cafe tables with your head up high. you’re more sure of yourself, standing taller, making each step towards him with purpose. you’ve lost the tension in your shoulders, the weight that built in your chest. and atsumu notices it too.
“you’ve changed.” he smiles, much softer than you’re used to. his gaze is fond as you settle in the seat in front of him.
“i know,” you reply, the corners of your lips twitching upwards, “but thank you for lending me your light.”
atsumu’s smile remains that same soft one that you’re not used to as he recognizes your words almost immediately. he leans back in his seat, gesturing a hand to you, “never gave ya anythin’, this is all you.”
he replies with the same words he said several months ago, the latter half of the sentence being the only addition. warmth fills your chest as he never lost a single ounce of sincerity. the only difference? this time you actually believe him.
atsumu may still be the sun, but you’ve become a star in your own right; you no longer need him to shine. maybe someday you’ll shine bright enough to allow yourself to exist beside him. but for now, this is enough.

Cards pulled on 15/07
What is happening now?
Devil rx Eight of Wands.
On The Devil card, you can see the couple from the Lovers card chained together while The Devil is watching them. Those two cards are numerological counterparts ( The Lovers 6 The Devil is 15 = 1+5=6) so they have a connection but this is not limited to some romantic relationship. This card also deals with addiction, obsession, influences, control, illusion, materialism. And when the card is upright the pentagram is in the “wrong” position, it’s upside down. So when the card is reversed, the pentagram returns its correct position and becomes the protective symbol again.
So The Devil rx means the chain falls off, it’s an opportunity to free yourself from those obsessive, addictive things which affect you. It's realising you have the power to change. But before you came to this realisation and urge to be free, you have to hit the rock bottom. I feel it’s important to say that in this question I haven’t asked about his romantic relationship, so it could mean changing a circle of friends or situations too.
8 of wands is often called the cupid’s arrow or the falling in love card while it is more about infatuation and adrenalin rush. It’s also a fast-moving card. This card is also called the holiday love card.
So I see two possible options. One of them is he is ready to free himself from some bounding situation fast. And this freeing attempt makes him enthusiastic, cause some adrenalin rush and in this case, it means he is trying to free himself from infatuation. He wants rapid results. The second option is that he is trying to free himself because there is another person, a third one if you like.
HC+NV relationship now.
Eight of Swords rx, Five of cups, The Sun rx.
It’s very interesting to see those 3 cards together, I had to meditate on them a little bit longer.
With the 8ofSwrx I think he has a more realistic, clearer view on this relationship. I think this clarity cause great sadness and regret. (5ofC) Sun rx means the relationship is cooled down. 5ofC is a traditional bad relationship card. Not necessarily a breakup but definitely arguments and disharmony. Because this is about the relationship and because 8ofSWrx is about to break free, release, escape freedom (like the Devil rx) and the 5ofC has a breakup meaning, I think the relationship itself lost its warmth, burnt out. Maybe because the past events were too much or one of the parties is still crying over a “spilt milk” aka cannot let the past go, a past relationship perhaps. If this is about letting go of this current relationship with NV, it won’t be a lucky “escape”. It will bring sorrow, probably thinking about why this didn’t work?
HC feelings, emotions
Judgement rx on top of it 7ofSwords
Judgment rx is about a difficult transition you are resisting or need time to adjust. It’s the refusal to hear the call. Delays, confusion, broken family units. etc. But because we have the 7ofSw on top of it ( and I mentioned before how I pay attention to the cards that fall on the others. This is only my method, maybe others don’t care but I do) I think he is seeking a way out about this situation he seemingly cannot let it go. But this card is an unsettling, shady, sneaky one. It brings dishonesty. Walking on eggshells, getting away with something, preparing for some action. Discomfort is the foundation of this card, it’s almost like you want to be truthful but cannot get what you want with honesty. This is the white lies, diplomatic approach to a situation. You know how he was compared to a politician, this is it basically. I feel this is the I cannot let go, but somehow I want to but my methods and ways won’t be honest and nice. For example when your partner is cheating you but too coward to admit it and accusing you of cheating. You fed up, break up with them, so they got what they want without being hones. That was just an example to describe the card, not the exact situation I saw here. 7ofSw is also means planning, mind games, tactics, being undercover etc.
9ofWands, Page of Cups, Star rx, 2of Cups rx
He was defensive, he protected a young feeling which was a teen love type of emotion ( I remember I got this card ones how this relationship felt at the beginning and I think this was his card back then too) and probably this is why he feels he is stuck, he cannot let go because he was protective over this. And just left this doesn’t seem an option, not with a clear exit. (again, not whit honesty)
With the Judgment rx this again means, hard time to let it go. He feels he was committed to fight for and guard that young feeling (as we saw with his FO post ) but now he is hopeless (Star rx). He also feels he is constantly battling and this wears him out. Maybe that’s why a relationship seems to burn out.
Pages are not just the youngest but they are the news bringers in tarot. This cup could mean gossip, being overly dramatic. To be honest I think this perfectly fits for his FO post and maybe he feels it was too much, too dramatic. On the card, the Page is offering his cups to someone and it could mean he feels he made those offers. He offered his emotions to her but the situation is hopeless. Or more likely it was a false hope. I said once in my previous reading that the most intense feeling I get from him for NV is this Page of cups, teenage love thing, which is more like the first few weeks, head over heels emotion, but this is without any real substance.
There is no love here. 2 of cups if it’s upright is still not the love we saw on the Lovers card. It’s more like the early touchy-feely phase of a relationship which could grow to something more but it could die down too. Reversed 2ofC means trouble in a relationship even the end of it. Two people realise they are not meant to be together. 2ofC not only represents romantic relationships but friendships too. In that case, it could mean a fallout between friends.
What I found interesting is that this could mean a codependent relationship between two people to the extent they cannot leave each other. This resonates with the Judgment rx. 2ofCrx can be a sign of a third person in the relationship or that one of the parties feels attraction outside of the relationship.
His relationship with his family
Wheel of fortune, 2 of wands
Wheel of Fortune could be a fate, a karmic card. As I understand here that it means they as a family have a strong relationship even if the wheel is turning to negative. I don’t see this bond be destroyed by a woman (like MM did with Harry and the BRF). Rifts, arguments yes, but I don’t see this as a permanent situation.
The 2ofW is often described as planning the future because the figure on the card is looking at a globe he is holding in his hands. Here I almost feel he is looking into the wheel.
2 of W is decision making. Seems like a passive card without moving but you are thinking, making plans, so it’s not passive really. He knows the decision he makes will affect many. But as a relationship nor the Wheel neither the 2ofW are good cards. So I definitely sense some trouble now ( at that time of the reading) but he is in the position to change things.
9 of Pentacles, Strength.
The imagery of those cards are very similar. Both have a very bright yellow background, on both, we have a female figure alone with an animal.
9ofP could represent an older woman, but first I want to talk about the Strength card. This is about your inner strength, calm the beast inside you. It means your inner strength is put up on a test. 9ofP could mean that you are sacrificed many things for success. I think he temporarily sacrificed some part of his family and this is what put his strength to the test. This card also correlates with material wealth and success. I used the RSW deck for all of my HC readings but I cannot let go the feeling I have when I am using my own, personal deck which is the Druid Craft Tarot. On that card, the woman has everything financially, but still, there is boredom on her face. She is not happy, she is missing someone or something from her life. And I feel as an emotion this is very much present. He has a good status financially, seems everything is good, but still he is not happy. And this is something that could put his inner strength for a test.
2 of pentacles rx
If this card is upright it means we are successfully juggling between 2 things. Because it’s a pentacle many times this is about 2 jobs, but as I said pentacles are about resources.
If this card is rx it means you cannot do that anymore. You know that you have to choose between the two things. It could mean his family vs NV, or NV and another one, but could mean a poor financial decision for example with his FL house, maybe he overspent. (Tbh I think I mentioned this before somewhere that maybe he will have problems with his house)
This card also could mean a breakup. I don’t see this means a breakup from his family, I think their relationship is tested. Since this is a rx 2 it speaks about imbalance.
This very much describes the whole reading. I felt imbalanced. I had a hard time reading certain combinations, first, this whole didn’t make sense. I am not sure how clear I was, this is definitely not my most polished reading. But then I thought I think I am picking up their imbalance. Because this whole has the “ I want to be free” feeling, but at the same time the “I cannot let it go” too. Like I want to go but there is an anchor which is holding me back.
If we check the cards I get, we have 4 twos ( 2 of cups, wands, pentacles, Judgement), 3 of them is reversed. It means losing harmony, trying to do 2 things at the same time unsuccessfully. The illusion of companionship. You don’t have equilibrium. etc. It’s about decision making, serious ones. Two sides of a story. It also means because those are reversed that he is afraid of making a decision, he rather wants to other make those on his behalf.
We also have 4 eights ( 8of wands, swords, The Star, The Strength). 2 of them upright, 2 of them reversed. Eight is strength. His inner strength is tested, his life gets busier. Reversed one means bondage, lack of courage.
If you want to imagine his situation, imagine a swing. Back and forth, up and down. He needs to make a decision to slow down or stop, or he will lose control and fall off. This is what he is now and this is what I picked up, while I had a hard time understanding the cards.
I hope you enjoyed it. :)

HASO “Dream Come True.”
Hope you guys enjoy, and hope you all have a great day!
Adam took a drink before setting the glass back down on the table. Across from him, Donovan Red took a pull on his whisky, drinking deeply before setting his glass down wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.
“I’m Sorry about your man….. I didn’t intend for things to go that way.” Adam said staring down at the amber liquid in the glass before him.
Donavan signed, “Not your fault. Sometimes pride gets the better of us, and it’s hard to admit that an outsider might be able to beat us at our own game.” he patted Adam on the shoulder, “But you saved my life, which means I am, and will forever be in your debt.” He smiled
Adam tilted his head.
“That doesn’t seem to bother you too much.”
“I think there are much worse people to be indebted to. A least I know you won’t ask me to do something I don’t want to do. Not like other men I know.” He took another drink, the tattoos on his neck bobbing once and then twice as he swallowed, “So, tell me this favor that you are looking for. How can me and mine be of service.”
Adam sighed and slumped back in his seat. He felt like he should definitely be keeping quiet about what he wanted to tell the man, but it was hard keeping it to himself and the people on his ship.It would be nice if someone else knew what was going on.
And wasn’t that the point.
Isn’t that why he had come here.
“When I joined the UNSC, I never thought about politics. I was a fighter pilot and then a spaceship captain. I am no politician, but more and more I find myself having to do politics like things. People ask for my opinions on policy, and they encourage me to support one group over another. I have to manuver as a diplomat for the GA without trying to piss off the actual diplomat, who isn’t too happy that I sometimes get in the way of them doing their job.
I am the human representative to all of humanity, and I have to behave the right way, but, sometimes, in doing what I know is right people get mad at me for it. I am worried one day they are going to give me an order that I just can’t follow. Not to mention that I have suddenly become the figurehead for an entire political movement. Sometimes I have to make speeches now.” he threw up his hands, “I represent a coalition interested in cooperating with the GA and all her interests, but there is a very heavy isolationist mindset on earth that is mad that we ever even joined the UNSC. They have already attempted to assassinate me once, and I have no doubt that they are going to do it again.”
Donavan grunted and looked him over, “Yes, I remember hearing about that.” He looked Adam up and down slowly, “No offence, but you would make a shit politician.”
Adam sighed and nodded, “I know. The only reason that I have so much pull in the arena is based on what I represent, and how the GA feels about me, but now…. Now I am learning that there are factions of the GA that want me gone.”
Donavan rased an eyebrow in surprise, “The GA?”
Adam shrugged and sighed pushing his glass away from him, “Yes, some very powerful people are after me for something I never intended to do.”
“And who is this exactly?”
Adam shut his mouth forcing himself to think about it for a moment before finally making his decision.
He sighed and leaned back in his chair, “The chairwoman of the GA herself.”
Red almost choked on his drink, spewing some of it out onto the table before swallowing hard and setting his glass down very slowly.
“WHAT!”
“Adam nodded. I was chasing after some information, and infiltrated the pirate wing of the anti-alliance coalition as a man named captain Kell.”
Red held up a hand, “Hold on, YOU are Kell, no shit. I heard the guy was one badass pirate.”
Adam adjusted his eye-patch, “I AM one badass pirate, but either way, I used that cover to get to their leaders and saw a transmission being sent from the chairwoman of the GA that was ordering those men and women to kill me if they could manage it, and now I don’t know what to do. The chairwoman pretty much helped me get my job. As far as I can recall she was one of the most supportive when it came to my promotion to captain. Thought we were allies if not friends, and now I come to learn that she has been operating behind my back to stage my assasination.”
Red leaned up against the table, “Well no shit, that does suck.” He tapped his fingers together, “And of course you can’t tell anyone without proof, otherwise they aren’t going to believe you. If you are going to come up with allegations like those, then you are going to need hard evidence against her.
Adam nodded, “And I do have some evidence, the recording of what she said, but those sorts of things can be doctored. I need to expose her somehow. I don’t know how all of this fits in of course, but it is partially why I came to speak with you.”
Red waited and Adam continued.
“I can’t trust anyone within the GA, or even within the UNSC. My only option is to go outside the law like my enemies are doing. Fight fire with fire so to say. If they are using the criminal underbelly to try and kill me, then maybe I can use it to try and save me.”
Donavan was nodding slowly, “And you are hoping to fight fire with fire to speak?”
Adam sighed, “I don’t know what I am hoping , but I know for a fact you and your men have the most power in this system, enough that everyone knows but no one questions it. I know you can go deeper than I can ever attempt, and I was hoping that maybe you could keep an eye out for me, track the movements of the criminal underworld so to speak while I try and deal with those people who are pretending to do things legally.”
Red nodded slowly, ‘That is something I can do”
“But is it something you are willing to do?”
He tilted his head back thoughtfully to look up at the ceiling above, I think it is. Not much different from things my men and I already do accept this time it is going to be for a worthy cause.”
He grinned, his gold capped teeth glittering in the dim light, “I-”
Just then, the implant in the side of his neck began to buzz. He held up a hand for Red to be silent, and the other man nodded leaning back in his seat to finish his drink as Adam answered the call.
“Madam president.” His tone of surprise roused red who raised an eyebrow.
“I have to say this is…. This is rather shocking. I didn’t know that you had this number.”
“I can have any number that interests me Admiral.”
“Yes of course.” He shifted nervously in his seat, “What can I do for you ma’am.”
“Do you know what important event happened on July 20th 1969, Admiral.”
He paused not entirely sure if this was a trick question.
“Go on. I know you of all people would know it.”
“The Apollo 11 moon landing ma’am.’
“More precisely, the 2051 anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. And it has been long in coming but the Global Aeronautics Space Division has decided to celebrate the occasion by recreating Apollo 11 down to every historical accuracy. The calculations will be done partially by hand and partially by computer. The Ship design will be exactly that of Apollo 11, etc. etc.”
Despite the stress he had been under the last few days, he felt his heart skip a beat.
“Wait, are…. Are you serious! That is amazing!”
“Yes yes.” She said cutting him off.
“And they want…. Or all of us want you to pilot that ship and command the mission as Commander Neil Armstrong would have in his time.”
The only response he was able to manage was a squeak, and he could feel the fangirl in him coming on hard and fast. He tried to clear his throat and remain professional, his heart pounding, a wide grin setting off across his face.
“Yes Ma’am you can count me in.”
“How confident are you that you can pilot the rocket?”
“I can fly anything ma’am.”
“Even so, we would like you back on earth as soon as possible to prepare for the event. This is a big historical recreation, and we want it to go as well as possible.”
“yes ma’am.”
The line went dead and he was no longer able to fight back the grin on his face.
Red watched him before standing, “We will get to work Admiral, and we will keep in contact. It’s good to know that my men and women are going to have something useful to occupy their time instead of sitting around twiddling their thumbs.”
Adam stood as well and took the man’s hand, “It should be a pleasure working with you.”
Red snorted skeptically, “You are too kind. I doubt it will be so pleasant, but consider yourself as a man who has friends in very low places.”
The two of them nodded and Adam excused himself back to his ship, racing towards his rooms with the giddy excitement of a school boy. The clind in him had awoken. He stopped to sit on the edge of his bed staring at the tiny recreated model of the lunar module sitting on the shelf above his bed glowing blue in the neon light above.
How cool was this going to be.
How dangerous was this going to be?
***
Eris was pleased to learn that she was not lactose intolerant. They hadn’t been sure based on her half alien half human anatomy if she would be able to handle some of the more harsh foods of the planet, but everything seemed to be working properly, a fact she was forever thankful for as she polished off her second bowl of ice cream.
She found the treat novel and delectable.
Leave it to human to think of eating flavored snow, or at least frozen cream.
And she liked it when they put little bits of candy on top.
Martha Sat on the floor next to the couch, and her husband sat in his chair watching ‘the Game’. Eris wasn’t sure what the rules were, but she liked watching them crash into each other. She wasn’t a big fan of all the talking they seemed to do in between the crashing together.
Martha and Jim had invited her to stay over for as long as she wanted after she told them the more detailed story of her life. They had been shocked but ultimately unsurprised to learn that she was less than three years old feeling sorry that she never got to have her childhood.
That’s why they were treating her like this, she knew.
They wanted to give her that little bit of her childhood.
She worried that they would be annoyed at her presence, but they seemed to have time with her sticking around indefinitely as far as she could tell . She wasn’t sure how long she was going to be staying, but for now, she was happy where she was.
Of course part of her being welcome had something to do with how Martha had no one to model clothes for her. Since her youngest son left the house she had been forced to model them herself, which made things difficult when she wanted to make alterations. But now that she had Eris, things were going much more smoothly,
At first Eris had been embarrassed to put on the clothing for her.
Once upon a time Eris hadn’t known better in thinking her body was weird. She had floated around without it using a gravity belt and no clothes, letting her long dark hair and ribbons cover what needed to be covered, but the more she learned about humans, the more self conscious she had grown, until hoodies and baggy pants were the only things she wore.
Martha did not approve of her wardrobe seeming to think Eris would look very striking in red or black.
Eris had tried on a few outfits for her nervousness at just how much of her alien otherness tended to show, with plunging backs and short skirts to show off her marble whie legs. Martha seemed to think the ribbons were pretty, and in everything she had Eris try on, they were on full display.
“Do they work like starborn ribbons?” Martha wondered, “I know they act sort of as solar sales, storing energy from the sun and using that to glide.”
Eris paused, “I don’t know. I was born on noctropolis where there is no sun, so I have never tried it.”
“I think you should.”
Eris shifted nervously, “But.”
Martha just smiled at her, “our backyard is fenced in, no one is going to see you.” Eris thoughts bout it for a moment and then set her bowl down to the side. She stood slowly and walked to the back sliding screen door and stepped out onto their back porch.
Technically it was only fenced in on two sides. The backside was open where the forest met their lawn growing deep and black as it went further back in to the depths.
Nervously Eris reached up and pulled off her hoodie dropping iit to the ground.
The tank top she wore had been made by Martha to accommodate her ribbons.
Once upon a time her gravity belt had allowed those ribbons to wave and undulate, but here they sagged with gravity and flowed behind her in the occasional wind current.
She turned around so they were facing the sun and waited.
And waited.
She felt nothing happening and was abut to go inside when.
When something started to happen.
She felt more…. Energized. Her blood seemed to grow warm and a smile spread across her face. At first she thought it was just all in her head, but then the warmth continued to blossom over her.
Her eyes went wide and she hummed softly feeling recharged from the sun like a battery.
She had her eyes closed and was just enjoying the radiation when she heard something ringing from the inside of the house followed by voices.
She was able to tear herself away from the warmth and stick her head inside.
“Adam, how are you doing.” Jim said and Eris could see Adam’s face projected on the TV.
She recognized a bit of herself in him. She had his nose, and his eyes shape.
“You are not going to believe who just called me.”
Martha smiled as she walked over to sit next to her husband, “Adam I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the president herself.”
Adam frowned some of the wind momentarily taken out of his sales, “Ok, yes it was the president, but.” e lit up almost immediately, “But you are not going to believe what she asked me to do.” He didn’t wait for them to guess, “She wants me to fly a recreated mission of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Historically accurate and everything!.” His grin was so wide it looked like he was going to split his face in half.
Martha’s eyes widened, “Really?”
Jim frowned, “That is great Adam, but…. Historically accurate?”
He nodded vigorously, “Yeah.”
“Son yu do realize the computer they used was less powerful than your mother’s automatic blow dryer.”
He waved a hand, “Yeah yeah, I know I know. Most of the math is probably going to be done by hand.”
Jim snorted and Martha grimaced, “Adam, sometimes I wish you had safer hobbies. I mean flying the omen is one thing, with those shields she could probably survive a meteor impact, but you understand the Apollo 11 mission flew in a rocket that that parts no heavier duty than your average tin can.”
“yes , and that makes it even more awesome.”
“I think you are getting dangerous and awesome confused again, son.”
“Oh come on, this is like a dream come true for me. ‘
Finally Martha and Jim sighed and broke out into smiles, “There is no changing your mind as usual.”
Adam grinned, “Nope.”
He turned his head just then, seeming to look through the camera, his eyes falling on Eris. Shock spread across his face, “Eris, is that you?”
She smiled shyly and moved forward, “Yeah, It’s me.”
“What are you doing there, I thought you were working at the hybrid foundation taking care of Glados and the others.”
She shrugged guiltily, “I…. well glados and the others wanted to go back to the adapted planet, and after that others started getting adopted, but then I sort of burnt out and wanted to come here and meet…..” She paused not sure if she should say
Martha put an arm around her, “She wanted to meet her grandparents and extended family.”
Adam looked surprised for a moment as if not having expected that before shrugging, “Just try to avoid mom’s side of the family if at all possible.”
“Adam.” Martha scolded, though she wasn’t actually mad.
He grinned, “I’ll be home in a few days.” he looked at eris, “Maybe I can show you around town when I get back….. If that’s something you’d be interested in?”
Eris shuffled her feet and quietly looked down, “Yeah,i’d like that.”
She wished she could read his thoughts in that moment. Was he only offering to be polite? She knew better than anyone that her birth had not been his fault. He had had his DNA stolen to make her, but still she couldn’t help but feel an affinity towards him. One that she knew wasn’t fiar for her to feel.
He hadn’t chosen for her to be born after all.
Not like other people
Did he just feel guilty?
Was she unwanted?

Comfort in You
Adrien needed to get out. He curled deeper into himself as the walls chased down to cage him like a determined hunter.
It was a trick of the mind, he knew. He knew his room was spacious enough to support a relatively large apartment. That it would be impossible for him to be closed in.
He knew. But his brain couldn’t process that.
Today wasn’t what Adrien would call a good day—and he certainly had better. Just thinking of it sent him into a spiral of his own thoughts.
The air in his room were lego blocks he's forced to inhale. Smothering his nostrils in full force. And was it just him or was the ground starting to sway?
“Breathe,” a voice brought him back to reality. Adrien didn’t even notice he was holding his breath.
He had to calm down. Gain his head back.
Breathe, Agreste. Just like the article said, 4 7 8. Inhale through the nose for 4. Hold it for 7. Exhale through the mouth for 8, Adrien did as so.
You’re alright, you’re okay. Just calm down and you can get out of here!
Somehow he had managed. His surroundings were clearing up. The walls didn’t look like they were about to collapse on him anymore. The air filtering through his nostrils lightened in weight.
He was fine.
“Fine” was an overstatement really. He was far from it as it is.
But in his situation and for argument’s sake, “fine” would fit in nicely.
Exhaling one last shaky breath, Adrien fixed eye contact with his furry companion and smiled.
“Thanks, Plagg. I needed that.”
The black cat rubbed his cheek against his chosen’s. Not for long though. Despite appearances, Plagg had a reputation to keep. He couldn’t let Tikki make fun of him!
Plagg did loops in the air before favouring a spot in front of his chosen. His flipper like hands poised on his waist and a sly smirk played on his lips.
“So, you ready to break out of this place?”
Adrien mirrored his smirk with a fresh new glint in his eyes, “Plagg, claws out!”

Life had been considerably unpredictable for Marinette. With her secret life as a superhero and the sudden debut of a supposed supervillain—or magical terrorist with the ability to grant people magical powers through the aid of butterflies, Marinette had thought that she was beginning to gain the capability to be unfazed by the unexpected. That with all the bizzare events in her life she became acquainted with it.
Apparently she was wrong.
Never had she expected for a certain cat—or perhaps Chat to be perched on her veranda. It rattled her at first. Chat’s last visit had been... interesting, to put it nicely. It wasn’t his fault per se, nevertheless the escalating events left a bad taste in her father regarding the cat themed hero. The bad blood died down, but finding the very person that broke your daughter’s heart on your balcony would certainly summon a very irresistible impulse to jettison him; and Marinette really didn’t want to explain to Paris why one of their heroes managed to become roadkill near her bakery (the suit would probably protect him, but Marinette did not want to take that chance).
That put aside, Marinette shuffled under her sole protector from peering—or in this case, Chat Noir’s eyes. A hand stationed at her trapdoor as her eyes spied on her partner.
His back faced her as he surveyed the city; his cat ears were flat on his tousled gold locks while he hummed a song Marinette became familliar with as “Little Cat on The Roof”. Her lips twitched into a knowing frown.
Being partners for so long they were bound to notice habits the other owned. At the moment, it was Chat’s occasional croons. Marinette recognised the song as Chat's solace. A safe haven achieved by focusing on the assortment of melodies the song offered. She came to the conclusion that her kitty was distressed; presumably due to family circumstances.
Marinette weighted her odds. It didn’t seem like Chat had noticed her yet—which was good. She hadn’t known what action to take. On the one hand, it would be wise to not nose around and let him solve it in his own time. But on the other hand, seeing him lack his usual jubilant and bright attitude sent a jab to her heart.
She wanted to help. To be of service to him like the terrible jokes and over the top shenanigans he did for her. No matter how stubborn she was to clung to her sour mood, he would do almost everything that came to mind to alleviate her spirits. She wanted to do the same for him.
“Marinette?”
The mentioned girl tensed before sighing internally. She knew she was bound to be spotted (HA!) somehow, though she did wish it would be from her own volition rather than a slip aided by Chat’s observation skills. Marinette didn’t loiter on that thought longer and pulled herself up. Red bloomed on her cheeks as the crisp autumn air caressed her skin while embarrassment added an even darker shade of red.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to spy,” she found great interest in the floor as her fingers busied themselves by connecting and disconnecting themselves, stealing peeks as she did.
She expected, hoped, for him to take the chance to chaff her of having an infatuation on him or alleging her of being stunted by his self-proclaimed dashing looks (Marinette has thrown herself into a spiral of denial), albeit begrudgingly. She had, because if he did—there lied a glimmer of hope that it would be easier to buoy her partner. Chat, however, had other plans in mind.
Chat offered her a smile. Impeccably centered and hollow like a well crafted porcelain doll, “It’s okay, it was rude of me to steal your balcony.”
Internally Marinette cringed at the sight. Her stomach wrapped itself in knots of discomfort. It reminded her of the smile Adrien would plaster whenever Chloe or Lila claimed possession of him. That night Marinette vowed that she would never let that smile abide on either boys ever again.
“It’s all right,” she spoke as her feet planted herself next to him.
A pregnant pause held them hostage. Both fearful of breaking the fragile semblance of peace between them despite the mutually felt inquietude.
“So,” Marinette threaded with rightfully earned prudence. Voice soft and light like footsteps on thin ice.
“...So...”
“I have some croissants.”
Finally a piece of her kitty came to light in the form of a grin on his lips and a glint in his eyes.
“You would indulge this poor stray to the finest pastries in the world? Truly, you are the most a-meow-zing purr-incess in the world!”
Marinette fought the giggle bubbling in her throat with no success before sending him a playful glare coupled by a smirk that flourished nothing but friskiness, “Careful now, those awful puns might just cost you.”
Chat’s hand sought his heart above the magical leather suit as an overly inflated gasp found freedom from his peach pink lips.
“How could you Purr-incess! My puns are widely ad-mew-tted to be fur-ry paw-esome,” he retaliated, voice brimmed with feigned smugness.
Snacks and chagrins were soon forgotten as they fell into an easy rhythm of banter. Jabs aimed to Chat’s puns would immediately be reciprocated with a flimsy defense along with an additional pun. Each one personally designed to perturb her further into submission. But despite it, Marinette couldn’t brush away the warmth buzzing through her entire body as they went back and forth. The once brisk air nipping at her skin replaced by a fervour akin to a hug from a dear friend.
After a particularly long laughter from both parties as Chat had finally managed to delivered a humorous pun - “EXCUSE mew Purr-incess, my puns are always funny!” - they settled in another lapse of silence. Consisted of feather lightness and melodic sweetness.
The city was exceptionally beautiful, they had agreed. Perhaps it was due to the occurrence of a full moon, offering the city a better lighting to its beauty; perhaps it was the fiery orange lining the streets with its playful gradient; or perhaps the most immediately discarded thought in their heads, the company they had.
It was a territory they never dared to venture. A land littered with minefields yet to be discovered, yet to explode with much more uncertainty and a set of emotions they were far too fearful to label. Because trying to label the unknown might shatter the bits of understanding of their emotions they barely possessed. Putting the hesitantly glued pieces into shambles; and as a teenager finding their place in the world, it was a risk they were walking eggshells on.
Neither allowed themselves to loiter on the thought longer than a second.
“I, I should get going.” Perhaps it was her imagination, perhaps it was reality how Chat’s ears drooped as he spoke.
“Uh, yeah, it's getting late...”
Chat took the initiative to climb the rails of her balcony, hunched and ready to set off. Baton in hand and his leather-covered thumb hovering over the button to extend it the moment he leaps.
Swivelling his head to face the pig-tailed girl, he gave her a smile, genuine and sincere. “Thanks Marinette, I’ll see you next time.”
For reasons unkown to Marinette herself, a giggle burst forth from her throat. Tickling the air around them with her bubbly laughter. All at once, the air felt warmer to Chat Noir.
“Sure thing, you silly cat.”
Marinette had expected for Chat Noir to make his way. However, still he was in his previous position, unmoving. Marinette was one breath away from uttering her worries when Chat Noir’s voice cut through the air in slight whispers timid and uncharacteristic.
“Can I,” he paused for a minute, but persevered nonetheless, “can I come here again?”
The question sounded child-like in Marinette’s ears. Like a shy little kid trying to make friends while shouldering a large fear of rejection. He sounded so small, so vulnerable.
Marinette took a breath to ease the tenseness she felt from Chat’s question. She needed to deliver an answer appropriate from her words down to her tone in order to fully put Chat at ease.
Gentle and fluffy, sweeter than all the candies in the world with a tone of loveliness, she spoke. “You’re always welcomed here, Chat.”
A weight could visibly be seen lifted off Chat’s shoulders. Shoulders once guarded and fearful of rejection came to relax for the first time that night. With a nod, Chat finally made his way back to his house.
The journey was something he didn’t desire, but he can’t impose Marinette with his overdue stay. At the very least, he came back with a new feeling better than anything he had in a long time. A feeling of warmth buzzing in his heart. Perhaps, he’s finally starting to remember the feeling of home again.

A Loki x reader would be great please. Maybe something where the reader isn’t really an avenger but is somehow really close with one member, so she visits a lot and is kind to Loki but at the same time doesn’t take any of his crap?
The New Guy
Summary: You were just about at the end of your rope with Natasha’s friends- until you met the newest addition to the compound
Pairing: Loki x y/n
Word Count: 1.8k
Warnings: Language, floofy
Author's Note: Thank you for the request anon :) I really enjoyed writing this one
---
Natasha had invited you for drinks at the compound again. God help you.
It wasn’t that you didn’t enjoy spending time with her, you just really didn’t fit in with her work friends. They were all jacked up super soldiers with no interest in talking about anything other than their work- as soon as they found out you’d never been in a fight and you didn't have any personal firearm preferences, they had very little time for you.
When you arrived they were all sprawled out on the sofas, looking as intimidating as usual, already half-cut on whatever Thor was handing out. You were offered some but Nat quickly swatted it away, assuring you that one sip would leave you absolutely paralytic.
The usual conversations happened, about missions and combat and god knows what else, until the party inevitably degenerated into the boys finding excuses to make each other take shots. You eventually managed to retreat to the kitchen, claiming that you were going to grab another drink but really just needing a break from the frat party you'd found yourself in the middle of.
Opening a beer and flopping against the counter, you rubbed your forehead wearily. In future you were definitely only hanging out with Nat at your place.
Light footsteps padded into the kitchen. You glanced up to see a man you didn't recognise with pale, almost translucent skin and jet-black hair falling onto his shoulders. He stopped suddenly when he saw you.
'Hi.' You smiled politely. He stared at you silently for a second, looking a little puzzled. 'Oh I'm y/n, Nat's friend.'
'Loki. Charmed.' His voice was deep and smooth, sending faint goosebumps down your arm.
His gaze lingered on you just a beat too long as he passed you to get to the fridge, then scanning his eyes over the contents and making a series of disgusted noises.
Glancing back over to the sofas, you figured that they probably weren’t missing you, so there was really no need to hurry back. Besides, this guy had really piqued your curiosity.
'Do you work for Stark too?'
His shoulders tensed up slightly and he gave an exasperated chuckle, before turning round to shoot you a gaze that could cut metal.
'Do I look like I work for him?'
The words were coated in a confusing mix of amusement and annoyance. You thought it was a pretty reasonable question, since he seemed to be living in the compound, so you weren't about to start backtracking.
'Honestly, yeah. Kind of.’ He smirked and narrowed his eyes at you. ‘You've got a bit of a vampire thing going on, seems like a niche that Tony hasn't filled yet.'
'I don’t think I like your tone.’
The side of your mouth curled into a mischievous smile, the temptation to keep teasing him almost overwhelming you, but you managed to fight it.
'Why are you here then? If you don’t mind me asking.'
‘Apparently I can’t be trusted to function without supervision.’ He reached for a glass and filled it with water, adding under his breath ‘at least in prison I was left alone.’
He started heading back towards the door, but you were pretty keen to elongate this interaction as much as possible, cause it was saving you from one of the worst evenings of your life.
'Not joining the party?'
Just the words left your mouth, a half-empty empty beer can flew across the room and exploded against the wall. Thor bellowed something you didn't quite catch and the other frat boys started hooting like morons.
Loki moved his gaze slowly from the freshly-stained wall back over to you. 'I'd rather have my limbs torn off by wolves.'
A long, laboured sigh escaped your lips. ‘Me too.’
You rubbed your eyes harshly, waiting to hear the sound of his footsteps retreating from the kitchen, but nothing happened. You dropped your hands and felt your stomach flip when you saw him still standing opposite you, giving you a curious smile.
‘What was your name again?’
‘Y/n.’ You mumbled, his gaze making you a little nervous.
‘Very nice meeting you y/n.’
Your eyes followed him as he walked out of the kitchen. You were too preoccupied with analysing what’d just happened to notice Nat approaching, squinting at you suspiciously.
‘Oh god, I know that face.’
Your eyes flicked over to her, feeling yourself blushing slightly. ‘What face?’
‘Jesus y/n, I've been trying to set you up with Steve for weeks and now suddenly you're interested in Thor’s psychopath brother?.’
‘He seemed nice enough.’
She grabbed a beer out of the fridge, not wavering her irritated stare from your face. ‘He destroyed Manhattan and almost killed all of us.’
‘Ah.’ Your heart sunk a little, but thinking more on it, you realised that something really wasn’t adding up. ‘Wait, why the hell is he here then?’
‘Thor says he's changed.’
‘Oh right… well maybe he has.’ You shrugged and gave her a teasing smile. ‘His brother of all people would know.’
‘You're unbelievable.’
She was probably right.
Then again, you were a big advocate for giving people a second chance.
Oh, who were you kidding? With that smile he could have all the fucking chances he wanted.
---
It’s true, you had promised yourself that in future you’d only see Nat outside the compound, but now you thought maybe you weren't being fair. Maybe you should give her friends another chance. Maybe if you hang around the compound long enough you might bump into silky voice again.
Besides, this time it wasn’t just a bunch of dudes getting hammered, it was a freaking garden party. Surely it couldn't degenerate in the same way those other nights did...
You were there for ten minutes before Thor sprayed champagne all over your outfit.
‘My apologies, friend of Natasha.’ He obviously didn’t remember your name. ‘I think you look better like that anyway.’
You could hear a chorus of sniggering behind you. You had half a mind to just give up and leave, when you felt a hand plant itself on your lower back.
Loki appeared beside you and passed you a wad of napkins with his free hand. ‘Must you be such a blundering idiot all the time, brother?’
‘It’s fine, just an accident.’ You shot Thor a tight smile and wiped the sticky alcohol off your face. As soon as he moved out of earshot, you muttered under your breath. ‘Fucking asshole.’
‘An accurate assessment.’ Loki chuckled before removing his hand and slowly moving to stand opposite you. ‘I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect to see you again.’
‘Yeah? Why's that?’
‘You didn't exactly seem like you were enjoying their company.’
A dejected grimace spread across your face. ‘Was it that obvious?’
You tried your best to dry your clothes, but they were already stained beyond repair. Sighing in exasperation, you balled up the napkins, tossed them on a nearby table and gave Loki a defeated shrug.
He shot some daggers over at the gaggle of idiots, still guffawing amongst themselves, before placing a hand softly on your upper arm.
‘I was about to take a walk through the woods. Perhaps you'd like to join me?’
‘That actually sounds really nice.’ You gave him a faint smile. ‘Thanks.’
Following him into the trees, you checked behind you a few times, only relaxing when the noise of the party started fading into the background.
‘Worried we'll be hunted?’
‘Nope, just don’t want Nat to see us disappear into the forest together.’ He furrowed his brows at you in slight confusion. ‘She made it pretty clear that I should stay away from you.’
‘And yet, here you are, alone with me in the dense wilderness. Maybe you have a deathwish?’
‘Maybe. Or maybe I think your bark is worse than your bite.’
You walked together for a while, conversation flowing easily. You weren't sure if it was the fresh air, the smell of champagne or your growing excitement at being alone with Loki, but your head started swimming a little.
Every single guy you'd been with throughout your life had bored you almost to tears, it had just been one meathead after another. Granted, moving straight onto alleged psychopaths probably wasn't ideal, but you were a grown ass adult and you were allowed to make terrible decisions if you felt like it.
Jesus, maybe you did have a deathwish.
Coming to a clearing, you both stopped at the edge of a small river crossing your path. There was a short, comfortable silence as you listened to the flowing water, enjoying the peace you’d found in what would otherwise have been a turbulent evening.
‘I can see why you like this walk.’ You eventually piped up. ‘It must be lovely and peaceful when you're alone.’
He let out a deep, breathy chuckle and turned towards you. ‘I'm actually rather enjoying having some company. Intelligent conversation seems difficult to come by in this place.’
‘Interesting. I can’t possibly imagine why anyone would avoid talking to you.’
Your voice was dripping with sarcasm. When you finally dared to turn your head and sneak a look at his face, you were relieved to see that he seemed more amused than offended, narrowed eyes glaring at you above a roguish smirk.
‘Let those halfwits avoid me.’ He raised his arm and tugged at your shoulder, gently turning you round to face him. ‘I take great care when choosing my company.’
His hand dropped as he stepped closer, leaving barely an inch between your chests. Your breath hitched and you felt yourself tense up a little, his close proximity eliciting a potent cocktail of anxiety and excitement.
'Are you frightened?'
His words were barely a whisper, but they raced down your spine and along your arms like an electric shock, making every part of your body tingle. You shook your head slowly, doing everything you could to hold yourself steady.
'Good.'
His arm circled your waist and he pulled you towards him assertively, gazing down at you against his chest for a second before dropping his face and pressing his lips firmly against yours.
They were ice cold, the shock causing you to pull in a sharp breath through your nose. He seemed to notice, as his mouth curled into a slight smile against yours, the feeling of which made your stomach quake even harder.
You relaxed as you felt his other arm snake around your waist, both of them tightening to press his body more firmly against yours. You slid your arms around his neck and pulled his head down further, deepening the kiss and eliciting a deep growl from his throat.
After a minute he pulled away slightly, bringing a hand up to cup your face and hold it in place, hovering close enough to his that you could feel his warm breath against your lips.
A wide, satisfied smile spread across his face.
‘Perhaps Midgard isn’t so bad after all.’

The Lies We Tell Ourselves
Synopsis: After being taken back to the TVA from Lamantis 1, Loki and Mobius have a little chat about trust, lies, their unsteady partnership and jealousy. Is this how it ends?
Word Count: 1.6k
A/N: This is just some alternative dialogue I came up with after Loki explains the truth about the TVA before being sent back to the time loop. Just some angst.
- - - - -
Mobius tapped his pencil against his notepad before beginning to write down Loki’s sudden outburst of false accusations against the TVA.
"So let me summarise the lie you and Sylvie have conquered up this time; the TVA is actually the ones lying to us, right?" He looked up from his notepad, satisfaction gleaming off his face. “Not a very good lie though.”
Loki shook his head in denial before he spoke up defending himself. "It's the truth, I swear it! Take me to Sylvie! She'll explain everything you need to know about this place.”
Mobious scoffed, his amused smile remained in perfect place which only aggravated Loki even more. "No chance, Loki. I'm not falling for your lies anymore."
Loki refused to back down and as he leaned forwards over the table. "Believe me. Just this once." This time he decided to lower his voice, the intensity in his tone sounded almost pleading. "You can trust me."
"Still think you can play these sorts of games with me? Lying won't get you nowhere this time. You’re out of luck." Mobious whispered harshly.
Loki pulled himself away with his back against the chair, arms folded across his chest, his chin lifted ever so slightly. "You really think you know everything about me don't you?" Loki questioned, his face hiding any sort of emotion.
"As a matter of fact, I do. I know more about you then you know yourself." Mobius boasted proudly. "And frankly, I no longer have much need for you considering you've chosen to work with the adorable little Sylvie." Mobius picked up his tempad and began to open it up.
"Have I broken your heart?" Loki teased, a small smirk creeping upon his lips. "Because if that's the case then I'm dreadfully sorry."
Mobius closed the tempad with an unnecessary snap. “No. You broke my trust, Loki."
Loki's victorious smirk dropped within seconds, eyes widening.
"Yeah, believe it or not I actually trusted you to do the right thing for once." The once playful atmosphere between them changed into something unpleasant, something almost suffocating. "I thought I'd give you the chance to be someone else, someone of your choosing instead of becoming a villain like everyone expects you to be." Mobius straightened his shoulders to compose himself. The disappointment was so easy to notice, on display with non attempt at even hiding itself.
For once, Loki was wordless from Mobius’s confession, breathing out a low sigh. He opened his mouth to speak but nothing was able to come out, no sarcastic remarks this time. Loki narrowed his gaze downwards to avoid the clear pained look on Mobius's face, his hands gripped his shirt forming fists from his folded position. Loki had broken many people’s trust before but this time it felt different somehow.
"Do you truly care for me?" Loki questioned curiously, he lifted his head back up to meet Mobius's eyes, analysing him.
"Considering I've been defending you time and time again ever since you got here, I'd say the answer is plain and simple." He explained, his hurtful expression changed into something more neutral.
"Even after I betrayed you?"
"Even after you betrayed me." Mobious confirmed.
Loki was set back, and even possibly surprised that Mobius had much trust in him despite knowing everything about his past and future. Was he feeling guilty for betraying him? Guilt had never been a feeling he felt before. It was a pointless feeling, what was done had been done. Guilt changed nothing but only made you pointlessly suffer for longer than necessary.
Loki gave it some thought, he kept his cold guard up despite it all.
"Then you're a fool."
A sad smile crossed Mobius's lips. "Yeah, maybe I am."
They fell silent in the large empty room, both trying to form something else to say. Loki knew this conversation would not work in his favour, not if Mobius's continued to disbelief him, could Loki possibly blame him for not believing him? The concept of trust was just as foreign to Loki as companionship was. He'd spent so long only trusting himself and relying on himself, wandering alone and pushing away the few remaining people that still cared for him. You could only push someone away so far till they no longer wish to keep trying to save you. And Loki has done exactly that. But why?
Guilt. Loki felt guilty for never appreciating those who did care for him. Still, it didn't change a thing. It was too late now.
Loki stood up, no longer being able to handle the drowning yet awkward silence.
"So what now?" Loki questioned, spreading out his arms out in annoyance.
Mobius smiled to himself at some inner thought he was having. "I don't know, Loki. You tell me." He said casually with ease. "Ready to tell the truth yet?"
Loki grumbled out an exasperated sigh. "I've told you the truth!”
"Okay, Loki, let's try something else; what caused the sudden nexus event on Lamantis-1?"
"How am I suppose to know? I was too busy trying to not get myself killed out there!" He began to pace slightly.
"You mean too busy flirting with yourself."
"No!" Loki protested. Mobius sat back comfortably and let out a laugh.
"And what's so funny?" Loki asked, his back turned away.
"You know, out of all the Lokis i've met, you're my favourite one so far." Mobious said.
Loki stopped his tracks, still facing away. "And I bet that you've said the same thing to all of them." He scoffed in amusement, hands on his hips.
"Feeling jealous?"
Loki rolled his eyes. "Would that surprise you? Considering you know so much about me." He turned around to face Mobius who still had that same smile on his face. "To answer your stupid question; no, I'm not jealous. I couldn't care less how many Lokis you've met."
"Wanna know why you're my favourite one?" He asked. Deep down, Loki was rather curious to know why, or craved to know why simply due to his pride of course or perhaps it was something more?
"No not really." Came his reply. Though Mobius knew that was a lie.
"Because you're so easy to rile up, I mean, look at you, all that pent up anger ready to pounce."
Loki turned away again, unimpressed by the answer but Mobius continued;
"Because unlike the rest, there's..how should I put it? A lot of depth to who you are. You're complex and unpredictable. But underneath all that mischief and chaos, there's a lot of pain too. Maybe we are more alike than we think."
Loki's shoulders slumped, still refusing to face Mobius like some child who did not wish to see the truth in front of him.
"You and I are nothing alike." Loki gritted his teeth, forcing his breathing to calm itself.
"Unlike you and Sylvie, I suppose?” Mobius said. This time, Loki turned around and went to sit back down.
"What's it to you? After all these years I've finally found someone who understands what it's like to to be me." He said defensively.
Understood what it was like to be alone. Though Loki refused to say that part out loud.
"Yeah, yourself." Mobius commented.
Loki chuckled as he stretched out his legs onto the table.
"Correct me if I'm wrong but do I sense a hint of jealousy from you?" Loki mused.
Mobius only laughed in response to Loki's idiotic analysis, he had no reason to respond to such an allegation. "Loki, feet off the table.” He said.
Loki stretched his legs out even more, resting his back down low into the chair. "Now look who's all riled up."
Their eyes clashed in some form of silent challenge. Mobius accepted the challenge as they both continued to stare into each other eyes, waiting for one of them to back down and accept defeat.
"Loki." Mobius warned, hand reaching for the tempad without breaking away. Loki placed his legs back down. So this was how it was going to end between them. "Alright, fine."
"Now, are you finally ready to tell me the truth?" Mobius asked for the finally time.
Loki blinked his eyes a few times. "You're in denial. You can't possibly tell me you've never doubted the TVA? Not even once?"
There was a brief pause. "No, not even once. There's never been a reason to doubt them."
"Not until now. Stop lying to yourself, Mobius. I'm trying to save you." But Mobius still held up his facade of smiles. Maybe now Loki could understand how alike they where, they had become delusional in their beliefs despite knowing something wasn't quite right. Loki believing he was a god destined to rule for all those years. He had to learn the hard way that it was only a bunch of lies he used to comfort himself from the painful reality.
"Alright, I think I've had enough. As you said earlier, our interests are no longer aligned." Mobius took the tempad and typed into it. A door shaped portal appeared.
The minute men entered the room to take hold of Loki, he did not fight back, there was no point. "You know, out of all the liars in this place and there are a great many, you're the biggest." Loki stood up, letting guards walk him towards the time loop.
"Why? 'Cause I lied about your girlfriend?"
"Oh, no. That I can respect. I mean, the lies you tell yourself."
Mobius narrowed his lips, not giving Loki the satisfaction of responding to him.
"Mobius, I thought we were friends." Loki tried at one last attempt.
"So did I, Loki, so did I." Mobius stood up from his seat taking his belongings with him and made his way towards the exit. Loki was escorted back into the portal.
Mobius paused, briefly turning his head to the side peering behind him at the empty space where the portal had now vanished.
He was alone once again.

[Wing AU; Tour!Verse]
i was thinking about this duo again and just poor tour!Joey dealing with her shitty future sight, so i whipped this up super fast while eating cookie dough!!
EB belongs to @spooner7308! I am really sorry if I butchered her
Word count: 1311
-------------------
Joan awoke crying.
She stared up at the ceiling, perfectly still, as if she were afraid that the bonds of her nightmare would pounce on her and snare her in its hellish grasp once again if she were to move.
Her vision bled at the edges, darkness seeping into the corners, the scarlet splatter of fresh blood burned into the back of her eyelids. Her breathing hitched, a whimper escaping her mouth unwittingly.
It was all she could see. Blood. Blood and a body, crumpled at her feet like a broken doll, throat slashed open wide and goddesses it’s too real, it’s too familiar--
Joan curled into a ball, pulling her wings over her head like a feeble shield. She knew, though, that they could not block out the visions. Nothing ever stopped them from shoving their way into her head, tainting her mind with their horror, warping her thoughts until it was the only thing she could think about.
Well. There was one thing that helped…
No. Their friendship was still so new. She couldn’t do this to her, trouble her with her nightmarish power.
But--
Goddesses, she couldn’t be alone. Not after what she saw.
So, so lurched out of bed, ran out of her apartment, and flew to the vulture’s nest.
------
EB was not one to get scared. Not after she had been tortured and hung. But a stick-thin hybrid slamming into her window at two in the morning? That was enough to make her nearly jump out of her own skin.
She had approached the window cautiously, claws brandished and feathers standing on end, but loosened up when she saw who was outside.
“WHAT the FUCK.”
Joan’s thin, awkward body spilled in through the window like a puddle of hybrid, weird wings stretched out on the floor, even weirder tail lying like a dead snake behind her. Then, her big ears folded back and she whimpered sharply.
“Oh no,” EB snapped. “You are NOT getting out of this by crying. Not this time!” She wouldn’t be admitting that saying that kinda rude statement made her heart clench up slightly in guilt. Nobody needed to know that part. “What the HELL are you DOING?! It is TWO in the GODDAMN MORNING! Some of us are TRYING to SLEEP!!”
Apparently she wasn’t thinking about her neighbors at the moment.
Joan made another woebegone noise on the floor. EB thought she wasn’t going to move, but then the hybrid lunged at her, threw her arms around her, and buried her face against her stomach, which was enough to make her flare her crest in surprise. She could feel growing wetness on her nightshirt, and that was enough to snuff out her irritation and replace it with worry.
“Woah, kid,” EB set her hands on Joan’s shoulders to try and push her back so she could look at her face, but Joan audibly whined and dug her claws into her back. She winced. “Hey. It’s alright.”
A great, shuddering sob wrenched from Joan’s throat, and EB instinctively wrapped her wings around her, hoping it would be able to hold her together when she was so clearly falling apart.
“I’m going to move you to the bed, alright? It’ll be a lot more comfortable than the floor.”
Joan didn’t answer, but she also didn’t say no, so EB took it as a good enough sign to scoop her up and make the short trek over to the bed. Upon climbing in next to her, Joan burrowed into her side and sobbed again.
“Talk to me, love.” EB urged gently. She was still new to this comforting thing, but Joan’s crying hadn’t gotten any worse, so she thought she was doing well enough. “Let me help.”
“Don’t--don’t--” Joan’s entire body heaved as she tried to speak. Her frail lungs couldn’t take both crying and talking at the same time. Hell, they could barely function when she was flying (EB had learned that she avoided going on flies with her because she actually couldn’t fly for long periods of time and also made “weird wheezy noises that she would make fun of”).
“Hey. Take a breath.” EB said.
“Don’t go to work tomorrow.”
EB blinked. “What?”
Joan took a shuddering gasp, then broke into a coughing fit. EB thumped her on the back to help her along, maybe patting a bit too hard.
“Don’t--work-- You can’t--”
EB blinked again, and then realization dawned on her.
“Did you have a vision?”
Joan whimpered and nodded.
“Aww. It’s sweet that you care about me, but I’ll be fine.”
“NO!!”
Joan’s shrill tone of voice made EB jump. Stubby, chewed down claws dug into her arm and side as Joan clung to her for dear life.
“You can’t! You can’t go! You can’t, EB, you’ll-- you’ll--” She broke down into sobs once more.
EB frowned. She knew how false visions were after hers got her killed, but then again she wasn’t exactly a Vesper, which could legitimately predict the future… But she also knew damn well what she saw was real...
She shook her head. No. Those alleged ‘moon powers’ were bullshit and made up by pretentious Vespers to try and seem better than everyone else. Nothing was set in stone.
But maybe she should stay home. Just for Joan’s sake, of course.
“Please, please, please, please,” Joan wept.
“Hey. Hey, shh,” EB wrapped a wing around her, which she nuzzled into. “If it messes you up that bad, I’ll stay home.”
“Please, please,” Joan begged.
“I am. Don’t worry.” EB pulled the small hybrid in closer. “But you can’t always believe what you see. You’re going to stress yourself to death one day, I swear.” She grimly remembered when Joan didn’t eat for a full week because she was too busy trying to track the exact moment some random event would happen when she wasn’t performing. She pushed everything aside, even EB herself (which she would NOT admit that it stung a little; she just wasn’t used to not having the company of the scrappy little thing after her trailing after her like a lost duckling for awhile now, that’s all). “And what for, kid? Your visions aren’t exactly very accurate most of the time.”
Joan paused her crying to look offended. “Th-that’s not true!”
EB snorted. “Remember that time you said a freak storm was going to hit and the show would be cancelled but then it never happened and half of the crew was late to a performance because they slept in?”
Joan blushed. “Umm--”
“Or that time you kept me from getting a new tattoo because, and I quote, ‘the bluebird doing it is going to hit on you and then stab you in the neck once you’re vulnerable.’”
“I-I don’t--”
“Or that time you INSISTED on staying at my apartment with me because you had to make sure there was no homeless guy underneath my bed, but I, personally, think you were just lonely and wanted to stay over for company.”
“Okay! Okay!” Joan shielded her bright red face in her wings. “My visions are bad, okay…”
EB chuckled. “Nothing to be ashamed of. Visions suck anyway.”
Joan looked a tad bit wounded at that. “Yeah…” She mumbled. “I just-- I thought they made me special...”
EB bumped her gently. “You don’t need visions to be special, dumbass.”
Despite the swear, Joan smiled weakly. Then, it faded in a near instant and she said, “B-but what if something I see comes true?”
“Well, did you see me smothering you in my wings right now?”
“No?”
“There you go.” EB said, and then smothered Joan in her wings. In the mass of feathers, Joan giggled softly.
“Ooh, are you growing mammary feathers?”
“OKAY--” EB flung the little hybrid out of her wings, causing her to giggle again, this time louder.
“No, no, I definitely saw something!” Joan said, then rubbed her temples like she was some kind of stereo typical psychic on TV. “Yes. I see very fluffy wings in your near fu-- OOF!!”
EB whacked her onto her back with one of her wings. “Oi. None of that shit. It’s stupid.”
Joan crawled back over to her side. “I won’t be wrong this time.” She said, flashing her a grin. It was wry and thin, but a grin nonetheless.
“We’ll see about that.” EB said. “If you’re staying, get comfortable. And don’t steal my blanket this time!”
“Now THAT is a future I know won’t happen.” Joan said.
EB groaned. “Great. Now the psychic jokes begin.”
“You love me.”
EB squinted at her. “Somehow.” She said. “You’re going to have to pay for your crimes against humanity the more you steal my shit, though. I’m going to start charging you for rent.”
“I don’t see that happening in the fu--”
“Enough of that!”

What in the World? (Akaashi Keiji x Reader) pt.10
a/n: so this was supposedly a one-shot but i realized it was too long so it eventually led to an ongoing full on fic xD thank you all so much for spending the time to read this! :) have a bit of action in this chapter :’) this a long chapter so...
Akaashi’s lineup: @alluring-akaashi @oikawalmart-hq @extrasugafree @bbykiyoomi @apricotjihyo @awings @simpformiya @sayakaaaaaa @colorseeingchick @something-that-idk (i have no idea why i can’t tag some of you :( huhu )
links: part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6, part 7, part 8, part 9, part 11
“Shall we?” Offering his arm, you gladly accepted it. This time, he couldn’t help the small content smile on his face when you fully held on to him. When the both of you were out of the gym, Bokuto had already turned around the corner leaving you two alone. “So, let me get this straight. You’re not from here, you have powers, and I somehow give you energy?”
“More or less.” Your other hand began to play with his fingers. “But it never goes past 35%.”
“How does it feel? To be stuck at that level? Is it frustrating for you?” He caught your fingers and intertwined them in his.
“Ooh~ You’re a curious one.” By now your knees were weak from being able to hold his hand. “At first, I was scared. Having to assess the situation is always tricky. When I realized that no one here has a quirk, I guess it was safe to assume that nothing could go wrong. It doesn’t necessarily suck. Being here for almost 3 months now, I actually like having not to rely on my quirk.”
“Do you ever think about what’s happening in your, uhh, dimension?”
“I do, every now and then.” For a second, you debated on telling him about being able to feel Todoroki’s warmth on your hands. “But, compared to my dimension, your world is a paradise.”
“What was UA, then?”
“It was the top school in Japan for producing great heroes.”
“Heroes?”
“Yeah.” God it felt so good to talk about home. Leaning your head on his arm, you continued. “I wanted to become a hero. Took the exam, passed, and got placed on the hero course. It sounds weird, I know, but it's pretty common there.”
“Your world sounds like a manga.” He stopped walking and faced you. Seeing you in a new light made him feel as if that tug he kept feeling had its purpose.
The moment he met you, Akaashi couldn’t help but want to get to know you more. When you took up the offer to be manager, it was the perfect opportunity. During the first day, he had managed to show off a bit by saving you from that particular chance ball. He could still remember the way you kept his eyes on him for longer periods of time.
He did feel that something was off. The bike-firecracker incident never made sense to him. Now that you told him, things just made sense now. But, with the knowledge that you liked him back, would it be unethical or selfish that he wished you would prefer to stay here?
“It’s not selfish, Akaashi.” His eyes widened. “No, I don’t read minds. It was just obvious because I’ve been thinking about the same thing too.”
The sounds of chattering and the aroma of the barbeque was much nearer now. Letting go of his arm, you made him enter the area first and trailed behind him. Walking back to your spot, you were met with empty plates and immediately assumed that Bokuto ate both your shares. Not minding it too much, Akaashi and you went with the team and ate there.
Hours had passed and the sun was now setting. Each team was now saying farewell to the others. Watching them board the bus, all of you were now waving the Karasuno crows goodbye. The next time you would see them would be in a few months. Not long after, the Fukurodani team was now lining up to enter the bus.
Taking the same seat, you stuffed your bag beneath you and wondered who would take the vacant seat. Bokuto had now entered the bus and he beamed when he saw the vacancy, before he could even sit…
“Bokuto-san.” Akaashi spoke with a deadly unemotional tone. “Washio-san has something he wants to tell you.”
Tossing his bag to the seat beside you, Akaashi had to smirk at the face his friend gave him. Pouty face and deflated hair when Washio denied the allegations about him. Crossing his arms to his chest, Bokuto had to nod and cheer for his friend. This would have to be the first time for him to actually see such a range of emotion from him. Though, if he were to be honest, Bokuto was going to give the seat to Akaashi.
“You don’t feel sorry for Washio-san?” You teased your seatmate.
“Bokuto-san falls asleep every time we head back to school.” Especially when he sits beside their # 2 player. “I can switch seats with him if you want.”
Holding his shirt, you looked down and avoided eye contact. Your palms glowed a bit and he covered the glow with his hands, bringing them to his thighs. Brushing his thumb on your skin, you relaxed and huffed at his little prank.
The scenery was now changing as the travel back home began. Feeling drowsy, Akaashi offered his shoulder with red cheeks. Not long after, your breathing slowed down and evened. He stared at your sleeping form and rested his head on yours. The rest of the team were now sleeping so a little PDA was safe.
Noticing how your palms would occasionally glow faintly, he made sure to cover them before allowing himself the privilege to fall asleep.
Around 30 minutes before the bus would reach the school, Akaashi woke up. With your head nuzzling his neck and your palms faintly glowing, he was sure he could have a stroke with the amount of blood rushing through his cheeks. Glancing at the view, it wouldn’t be long before the bus would arrive.
Slowly checking if the others were still sleeping, he took a look at your palms. There were a million questions running through his brain. How old were you when you found out about your quirk? What was life like with having quirks? When you stated you went to a school that nurtured heroes, does that mean the diversity of quirks were so wide and varied? Was this ‘Shoto’ one of your friends from your side of the dimension?
With the sun now low in the orange and red sky, he covered your hands once more. Just in time for you to stir and wake up. Stretching a bit, he saw how the glow began to disappear.
“Sleep well?”
“You make a great pillow.” It was true though.
“The coach will be gathering us for a short meeting later.” He explained. “Do you want to have dinner?”
“In the same cafe?” Not bothering to fight the smile, you felt your palms heating up. Taking them away from his, you hid them underneath your thighs. Your face and the tips of your ears red. “Sorry. That happens when I can’t control my feelings.”
“Yes. In the same cafe.” He couldn’t help but chuckle at the thought of you being flustered and your quirk showing it.
Moments later, all of you were now seated on the gym floors. The small announcement the coach gave was nothing too important. He merely stated that the incoming practices will be a little longer and a bit more straining for the players. Everyone nodded and took note of the days with no practices. Next thing you knew, you were now saying goodbye to the others and walking down the streets with Akaashi.
“Can I hold your hand?” He needed to make sure you were on the same page. There was no answer. You simply held his hand and laced your fingers with his. Seeing you giddy always made him happy.
“I bet you have a lot of questions. Go ahead and ask.”
“What’s your world like?”
“Just like this except we had bad guys almost everywhere. One of the worst one’s sounds like Tsukki, by the way.”
“Oh. That’s why.” He did not expect you to cling on to him when you met the tall middle blocker of Karasuno. The way your tightness and slight trembling of your shoulders made him wonder if you had any kind of trauma. He was wrong, but not really. “Have you fought big time bad guys?”
“Once… No twice. No wait, three times!” There were just too many instances by now. “The worst would have to be the one where we tried to save a little girl from her guardian. I didn’t fight the big boss but I did fight one of his henchmen. It was troublesome and I got badly injured.”
Opening the doors to the cafe, the two of you ordered your respective dishes and sat in the same booth. This time, you sat beside each other. Akaashi’s hand still laced with yours.
“Why did you want to be a hero?”
“That’s what everybody, or at least a big majority, wanted to be.” He noticed how your stare became distant. “My quirk is pretty high up there and my parents were proud. Everyone told me and even I began to think that things would be a walk in the park.”
“What’s your quirk at 100%?” He just had to ask.
“Well…” You never used your quirk at 100%. “I’ve never used it to that percentage. I usually use it until 80%. But, the thing with me is that if my quirk is below 40%, I can only do basic things. If it’s changing properties, then I can do plants. If it’s at 80% then you can expect to see me breaking huge chunks of cement or lifting boulders 50 times my weight. It’s draining but we train everyday.”
“That’s a lot of information to swallow.” He admitted. The laugh you gave him was reassuring enough. “Why did you tell me?”
“I never intended on telling you today. I envisioned myself saving a cat or safely pushing an old lady away from danger.” Facepalming, you cringed at how you exposed yourself. Akaashi understood that his little flaunting act was the main cause why you two were now holding hands in a small booth waiting for your food.
“So, Ushiwaka being your ex?”
You laughed. A loud one.
“I have never met that person in my life!” Shaking your head with amusement, you explained how you had to search his nearly empty social media accounts. Or the shock you experienced when you found out about him.
“You hold no memories here? Not even random childhood memories from your mom?”
“The only memories I have are from my dimension. It’s creepy looking at pictures of your younger self and having zero recollection. I got used to seeing it though. Every now and then I get tidbits of information as to who I was here. But it just stops at the present.”
“You’re very brave.” He couldn’t imagine the mental stress you were going through. “You really are meant to be a hero.”
“Frankly speaking, being a hero might sound cool and all but it…” Without realizing, you squeezed his hand. Chewing on your lower lip, you let out a shaky exhale. “It’s petrifying. Having villains infiltrate your school activities, defending the weak, and having to face the uncertainty of making it out alive takes a toll on you.”
“I’m sorry. I touched a sensitive topic.”
“Is it sad to say that’s not even a sensitive topic?” You leaned onto his shoulder. “I’ve fought with my life on the line twice. The other one got me staying in the hospital for 2 weeks.”
“Well,” He raised your head, index and thumb softly holding your chin. His gunmetal eyes met your (e/c). “I may not have powers or a quirk, but I will try my best to become a hero to you.”
“Akaashi…”
Your eyes began to cloud and lower lip to quiver. Hearing such simple words may sound cheesy to regular people in his dimension, but as someone who came from an environment where you were trained to put others first, it was enough to let you blink a waterfall of tears. Each mental strain you had undergone, from the USJ Attack, the LoV infiltrating your training camp, and even having to help Fatgum and Kiri with the eight precepts manifested.
Letting go of your hand, he pulled you into his arms. It made him think what exactly did you go through to make you react to those words. He meant them with all his being, of course, but the impact left him speechless. Maybe life in hero centered mangas weren’t as great as he thought.
Right on time, when you calmed down, the food arrived.
When the both of you were now standing outside your houses, you took your phone and checked the time. Avoiding eye contact, you scratched your nape.
“It’s still relatively early,” You were being bold and that amazed you. “Do you wanna drop by my house and chill? BUT NOT IN THAT WAY, OKAY! Just like, you know, get to know each other more or some shit.”
Taking the lead, Akaashi dragged your red face all the way to your door. Opening the entryway for you, you stepped in with your mother yelling from the kitchen. Announcing that Akaashi was here and that the two of you would stay in your room, you heard some teasing. Going up the stairs, your o-mother yelled your name.
“(y/n)!”
“Mom?”
“...Use protection!”
“WHAT THE HECK?! MOM!”
You half expected she would add more salt to the burn but that was least expected. Leading the red faced Akaashi to your room, he was surprised to see it very empty and barely any mementos. You weren’t kidding when you said you had no memories until the day you arrived here. Telling him to put his bag on your bed, he complied and soon helped in getting some pillows from the storage room. Seconds later, both of you were now sitting on the floor.
“What was your childhood like, Akaashi?”
“Normal for my dimension’s standards.” He reached for your hands and admired how you activated the yellow glow. “Aside from volleyball, I also liked reading. No particular genre, anything that catches my eye.”
“Do you plan to go pro?”
“Not quite.” He truthfully answered. “Volleyball is my life but I would like to take up literature one day.”
“What made you choose Fukurodani?”
“I was sent a recommendation letter. I had the option to choose between 2 schools but I chose this one.”
“Why choose this school?”
“I saw Bokuto-san playing and I was just so mesmerized at how much he loved the sport. I had no idea just how much of a handful he was but I don’t mind. Bokuto-san is who he is.” His eyes followed the small glowing orbs you had formed again. With the privacy surrounding you two, the orbs were much brighter and bigger. “What was your childhood like?”
“A rollercoaster ride.” Focusing a bit on your quirk, you morphed the orbs into one. Slowly the balls began to mold into an owl. Akaashi’s eyes sparkled at the sight before him. “When my quirk fully manifested, my parents boasted me around. It caught the attention of some big pro hero. Next thing I knew, my parents signed some papers and I was meeting up with his kid.”
“I don’t quite understand, I’m sorry.”
“It’s fine.” The owl landed on Akaashi’s head and a few feathers of light began to float in front of him. “In my world, we have this thing called quirk-marriages. It’s exactly like an arranged marriage except it involves the person’s quirk.”
“Y-you’re engaged?” The look of horror in his eyes was clear.
“Was.” You saw his shoulders relax. “The guy I was supposed to marry was Todoroki Shoto, not that the name even matters here, and the engagement got called off two years ago. Both of us were glad his dad had an epiphany. He was sweet and all but I never saw him in that way.”
“What was his quirk?”
“Todoroki was a special one. He was the result of a quirk marriage. He has two.” Akaashi’s eyebrows jumped at the thought of having two kinds of quirks. One was enough but two? “We teased him ‘half and half’ since his quirk is fire and ice.”
“Wow. He balances himself.”
“He really does~ Even his hair is balanced. Half white and half red.”
“Huh, this world really is bland compared to yours.”
“On the contrary, it’s not.”
“I highly doubt that, (l/n). Everyday is like an unknown chapter waiting to present itself. The prospect of living or dying high, but I’m pretty sure all of you find it to be worth the hassle.”
“There’s that but there’s also you.” It was your turn to see him with his eyes wide open. It felt so fluffy to see the prettiest setter staring at your palms and trying his best to control the blood rushing on his cheeks. “I know you’ve only met me for less than 3 months, but I can say that you’ve given me comfort in ways you can’t fathom.”
Feeling his chest swelling, he pulled you back into his arms. His soft hair tickling your cheek as you relaxed into his arms. Your warmth was comforting as he buried himself in your hair.
“Do you wanna see me use it on that plant?” You offered. Voice a little muffled from inhaling his godly scent. “You’ve been touching me a lot so I might have a bit more juice-- gods that sounds wrong but you get the point.”
“If you insist.”
Slowly unwrapping his arms, you pouted at the sensation of wanting to just stay still and hug him back. Caressing your cheek, Akaashi smiled a bit. Taking in sharp breath, you could feel your heart rate rising again. Screw it. There was no way you were going to ruin the moment.
Stretching your hand, your palm glowed the brightest it's ever been since you arrived in this dimension. Following the tugging sensation, you began to manipulate the air around the houseplant. Akaashi did a double take when he realized what you were doing. Watching the area around the plant distort, it only took a second before the small pot was now floating above your palm.
Placing the little pot in between you two, your mind was blank and you were not sure what to change it into. You could go bold and flashy by changing it completely into a new plant or just turn it back into a desert rose.
“What flowers do you like looking at, Akaashi?”
“Nothing in particular.”
“Do you like roses?”
“I don’t see a reason not to.”
Nodding your head, you were now using both your hands. The Hoya plant now began to hover along with the soil. With each curl of your finger, the plant began to morph into something else. The floating orbs were nowhere to be seen. In the blink of an eye, Akaashi let out a small ‘oh’ once a single stem of a rose now replaced the bushy succulent from before.
The rose was not fully opened yet. Placing everything back into the pot, you were now using just one hand. Pointing your finger at the closed bud, you traced imaginary circles with your index and the man in front of you watched it bloom in front of his eyes.
“W-why aren’t there any floating lights?” He had to wonder.
“I like to be flashy sometimes~” You smirked. “I can make them but for small magical stuff like these, it’s all up to me if I want them or skip ‘em.”
“You just changed the entire composition of the succulent.” His finger touching the soft petal. “Are you tired?”
“Just a bit. My body gets used to it pretty quickly. This used to be a desert rose but I changed it into the Hoya plant last week. So by now, it’s not too tiring.”
“Your quirk is amazing.” Akaashi praised you. His hand found your cheek again. Leaning to his touch, you concluded that he was even more addictive than you thought. In small and delicate movements, his thumb brushed your pink tainted cheeks. “You must’ve been very strong.”
“I tend to hold back when I use my quirk.” You looked down. “My quirk isn’t that strong because of that.”
“Why hold back something so beautiful?”
“It can be destructive just like all the other quirks.” Patting your lap, the owl you made rested on the spot you touched. “If I’m in a neutral or content state, its glow is yellow or what I want it to be. But once my negative emotions come out, it tends to turn into either red or black.”
“How was it when you first came here?”
“It was yellow. Faint but yellow.” Shifting the colors of the owl, Akaashi took note of how faint the glow was when you first arrived. The glow was barely there from what he could tell. When it shifted to red, the soft edges were now replaced with torn and jagged lines. The cuteness of the owl faded away into a more feral and hungry looking bird. Snapping your finger, the creature disappeared. “You’re not weirded out?”
“I am.” Akaashi stared blindly into space. “It’s a lot to digest. A part of me thinks this is all a dream but I know it’s not.”
“It is information overload.” For a moment, you wanted to crawl into his lap and nuzzle on to his neck. Instead, you scratched your cheek and returned the plant to its original spot. “If I were to be honest, I’m not sure if telling you was the right thing to do. I would rather have you be ignorant than to be mixed into the chaos of my world.”
“You wanted to be a hero, right?” Noticing how you were chewing your inner cheek, he had to wonder. What other secrets were you keeping? “Then there’s no reason for me not to trust you. You may not be from here but you're a main protagonist in my personal world.”
“God. Even in times like this you’re so beautiful.” You uttered under your breath.
Stretching his arms out, you saw his smile once more. Giving a nod, he gestures for you to come closer and sit on his lap. With a fast beating heart, he adjusted his position to make you more comfortable. Once the both of you were good, he tucked a loose strand of hair. His mesmerizing eyes solely focused on you.
“Let’s be each other's hero, (l/n)?”
“You know,” You wrapped your arms around his neck. “Heroes aren’t supposed to leave debts.”
“I believe I don’t owe anybody.” Once again his large hand caressed your cheek. His thumb lightly brushing your lower lip. Pulling you in inch by inch, his eyes landed on your lips and back to your eyes. “Are you always this alluring?”
“Eh. Depends on whose lap I’m sitting on.”
Closing the gap together, your lips met his soft one’s. This was nothing compared to your first kiss. The way his lips molded with yours made each butterfly in your belly to flutter. Feeling him snaking his arms around your waist, you gladly pulled him in closer and hugged him tighter. By now, you were sure that Akaashi could feel your rapidly beating heart.
Feeling his tongue running along your lower lip, you happily gave him entrance. It was a rather sloppy and messy kiss from this point on. Shifting your position, you now straddled him and tangled your fingers through his hair.
As of the moment, the only thing in both your minds was the feeling of your lips and tongue dancing with each other. If this was a dream, then you would be too scared to wake up. In all the days of being in this dimension, it was only now you felt that you were truly safe and belonged.
Being human, the both of you broke the kiss at the same time. Panting and catching both your breaths.
Noticing your room was a bit brighter than before, the both of you stared at the small firefly like orbs that danced around the both of you. Hiding your face on his shoulder, Akaashi chuckled and wrapped his arms around you once more.

a/n: hope ya’ll like that smol kissing scene XD and yes Akaashi is still accepting in his lineup! :)

Unspoken Words (Ezra x Reader)
title: Unspoken Words rating: PG-13 length: 2000 words content: angst, fluff, miscommunication summary: reader ends up stuck with Ezra on an expedition. for: @just-add-butter
Before the galaxy fell apart around you, you had been an esteemed archivist at the university on the Zulpho space station. Word of your specific skill set eventually reached the ears of a wealthy prospector who frequently hired teams of harvesters to venture onto uncharted planets and moons, hoping to strike rich. He approached you about a team he had engaged to ship out to a relatively unknown system to collect information about the alleged Rhivorium Crystals that could be harvested from the mineral lakes on one of the terrestrial moons. You had researched the system at length during your tenure at the university — if anyone knew about Rhivorium Crystals, it was you.
And Ezra.
A man whose sole purpose in life seemed to be to drive you crazy.
He knew everything, despite having no formal education to claim. While he didn’t directly question your authority on Rhivorium Crystals, he went on, at length, about his own knowledge on the topic whenever the subject was broached.
Clearly, the man loved to hear himself talk. You had never encountered someone quite like him and you had worked with some infuriating blowhards on Zulpho.
Despite thorough preparation, none of you had anticipated arriving on the moon in time for a poisonous atmospheric event. Due to a filtration failure on the main freighter, the team split into pairs to make use of the jump pods attached to the vessel which were better suited for inhospitable climates.
The leader of the expedition, a rather soft-spoken man named Rue, chose the pairs at random in a clear attempt to make the unexpected quarantining as unbearable as possible. At least in your opinion.
Ezra was a large personality to share three hundred square feet with.
“I’m quite keen to know what your thoughts are on the truly tragic loss of the Library of Alexandria. I am quite the avid reader, whenever I can avail myself of the time to get swept up in a work of fiction — I do.” He drawled out as he worked to dismantle his blaster. “It’s a damned shame I didn’t think to better prepare for an occasion such as this.”
You barely resisted the urge to roll your eyes at him. “I don’t have any opinions on the Library of Alexandria. It was a tragic loss, I’ll agree with that.”
“Ah,” He nodded his head. “The funny thing is that having no opinion is, in fact, having an opinion.” Ezra used his teeth to facilitate removing an element of his blaster and despite yourself, you caught yourself watching the way his lips wrapped around the piece. You had been skeptical of his abilities when you realized he was missing his right hand. Harvesters required their full facilities, especially when dealing with extracting valuable minerals. But he’d adapted well to his situation.
“Did you hear me?”
You blinked at him. “How could I not? You never stop talking.” You regretted the tone you had taken the second his expression fell. You hadn’t meant to sound so angry — you were overcompensating for the flush of embarrassment you had felt from catching yourself watching his mouth. For the fleeting thoughts of what his lips might feel like against your own.
Ezra’s tongue darted out over his bottom lip, before he gave a stiff nod. “I see.” He lowered his gaze and focused his attention on cleaning the newly dismantled blaster. Silently.
The silence was worse than his near-constant talking. In the silence you could hear the violent rains that poured down around the pod. You could hear the whine of the engine, the perpetual hum of the generator keeping the filtration system operational.
You stared at him for a long time; watching the way he handled the blaster, how delicate his fingers were as he worked oil into the barrel. You watched until your heart ached because you knew you had ruined whatever delicate friendship you might have had with him.
——
You tried to apologize twice, but both times Ezra was quick to shut you down. Your conversations were limited to idle commentary on the atmospheric levels outside the pod and how the generator was functioning. Mostly it was just you talking to fill the silence and Ezra offering clipped responses before he found something to busy himself with.
You worked on compiling your notes about what you had learned about the planet through your readings of the atmosphere. You annotated your experiences trapped in quarantine with Ezra, making notes in the margins about how much you regretted losing your temper with him.
Despite your initial opinions about the weathered harvester, you actually did like him. Of all the members of the expedition, he was the only one who could hold a meaningful conversation. Sure, he talked excessively, but at least he was intelligent. The notes were meaningless to the expedition, but you had to get them out of your mind.
Ezra barely even looked at you and you hated that you actually missed the way his warm dark eyes would light up as he discussed something he was passionate about. You missed him, even though he was sitting only a few feet away from you.
——
On the second week of the quarantine, a generator malfunction spurred on the longest conversation you had had with him since your falling out. Ezra had tinkered with the generator while you slept, adjusting the baseline levels to match the ever-fluctuating atmosphere beyond the pod. Somehow he’d miscalculated the formula sending the system into a downward spiral.
“Wake up, little bird.” He urged, giving your shoulder a shake. “I need you to wake up. I’ve made a grievous error.”
The crisis was easily averted once you set to work on it. “You woke me up just in time.” You assured him as you sank back onto your bed, tucking your legs beneath you.
“I do apologize.” Ezra remarked, catching your eyes as he made himself comfortable on his own bed.
“No.” You shook your head. “If either of us should be apologizing, it’s me.”
Ezra sighed heavily as he laid down. “I suppose you ought to be.”
“I—”
“Good night.” He whispered as he turned his back to you.
——
You were always careful about keeping your notes tucked under your pillow when you weren’t actively working on them. It wasn’t that there was anything dreadfully private in them, but you would rather Ezra not read what you had written about him. Once the quarantine was finished, you planned to duplicate the expedition notes into an official file and put away your personal commentary.
Midway through the third week of the quarantine, you panicked when you couldn’t find your notes anywhere. They weren’t under your pillow, under your mattress, or sat on the crate you used as a makeshift writing desk.
You froze when you saw them clenched in Ezra’s grasp. “Looking for these?”
“Yes.” You swallowed thickly and stood a little taller, as if you could possibly stand eye-to-eye with him. “Why do you have them?”
“You left them out.” He shrugged, holding them out to you.
“Did you…”
“Yes.”
You snatched them back from him. “Oh.”
Ezra sighed heavily, rubbing at the back of his neck as he kept his gaze fixed on your face. “Little bird, you needn’t continue to apologize. I accepted your first apology at face value.” He revealed, scratching at his chin (which had grown significant scruff since quarantining). “But I thought, since you were frustrated by my loquacious nature that I would limit myself for the duration of this unpleasant situation.”
Your lips parted, words poised to escape you, but you struggled to make your voice work. Your cheeks burned hot as you realized everything he had read in your notes.
“In all my years of life, I don’t believe I have ever had the pleasure of someone describing me with such ebullience. I can’t imagine what I might have done to be worthy of your kind and considerate words, despite them not being intended for my eyes.” Ezra took a cautious step towards you and you didn’t retreat. “When I learned that you would be joining this wayward expedition, I admit that I was thrilled at the prospect of befriending you. You have been afforded experiences that I have only dreamed to be part of.”
“Ezra—”
“Let me,” He held up his hand to stop you. “Had I been born into a finer stock, I might’ve been a learned mind like you.”
You took a step towards him, ignoring his protests. “You’re the smartest man I know.” You hated that your outburst at the onset of this whole situation had caused him to think less of himself. Hadn’t he read your notes? At length you had praised his knowledge. He could talk circles around the most learned men you worked alongside at the university.
“I know.” He nodded towards the notes still grasped in your hand. “Am I wrong to think that your commentary alludes to another layer of intrigue between us, little bird?”
You glanced downwards and mumbled, “You can’t blame me for longing for a little human contact.”
“I should hope that it’s a great deal more than just that.” He clicked his tongue against his teeth. “Once this quarantine has run its course, you and I will still have to see this expedition through.”
“And after?”
He smirked. “It would be most fortuitous that we should have an after.”
“I know you’ve read my notes.” You started, fingers trembling as you sat the notebook aside on a crate. “But I want to say it too.” You drew in a shaky breath as you met his eyes. That affectionate warmth you had longed for had returned. “I’m so sorry. I never meant to hurt you. I was just… scared.” You gestured around the pod. “I am at ease with the thought that we might be trapped in this pod until the generator runs out, but I was terrified at the prospect that I might genuinely care for you.”
He arched a brow and chuckled, “Little bird, caring for me is an imprudent endeavor, but I am deeply grateful that you should open your heart to someone like me.”
“Ezra,” You whispered as you stepped close to him. You rested one hand at his shoulder as your other moved to cup his cheek, your thumb stroking over the bristly scruff you found there. “I’m not very good with my words.” You admitted. “That’s your expertise.” Where he excelled at verbalizing his thoughts, you favored putting pen to paper. “But I want to explore whatever this is between us.”
“As do I, birdie.” Ezra murmured as he looped his arm around your back and stroked the small of your back. He drew you closer, dipping down to brush his lips against yours.
You rose up on your toes to meet his lips, your hand sliding from his cheek to cradle the back of his neck. Finally, you were free to rake your fingers through his hair, finding out for yourself just how soft it was as it slipped through your fingers.
——
A month had passed since the start of the quarantine and the daily readings seemed to indicate that the atmosphere was being to normalize — harkening its end. You and Ezra no longer slept on opposite sides of the small space. Shortly after you mended bruised feelings, your beds had been pushed together to make the most of them. Not that you ever slept very far from Ezra’s side.
You fit perfectly into his side and the steady beating of his heart beneath your ear eased you to sleep night after night. And each night he would entertain you with stories of his past until your quiet snores drowned him out.
Perhaps you weren’t perfectly suited for one another, but throughout your life you had learned that nothing was perfect. The most important parts of your broken pieces fit together. With each other, you finally felt whole.

-----------
Gabriel Agreste was displeased.
Honestly, that was an understatement.
Gabriel Agreste was infuriated.
He had allowed Adrien his little temper tantrum, the slamming of the door and stomping to his bedroom, expecting to let the boy stew for a bit until he had calmed enough to be reasonable. In the meantime, he had assured Mlle. Rossi things would progress as planned.
That had been a miscalculation. Adrien’s behavior had only escalated, as he somehow managed to escape the mansion—something Gabriel had only discovered later, when Nathalie had brought the tablet to him, with that picture on the Instagram social media account that was meant largely for Adrien to promote the brand. He had been permitted to use it for additional reasons, but clearly that had been a mistake.
Gabriel had been struck by the smile on Adrien’s face, though, carefree and happy… and alongside that of a boy he’d never seen as they cuddled in an intimate way that was wholly inappropriate for the brand. He never would have allowed such a picture with Mlle. Rossi.
But his hands were also tied by Adrien’s move—if he were seen to disapprove, many of his employees would be livid, not to mention critics. The LGBTQ+ community was well represented in the fashion industry. At this point, Gabriel would be seen as homophobic.
Furthermore, a third party had taken those pictures, meaning Adrien had found allies.
Nathalie had attempted to regain control of the account, to no avail. Hopefully the furor would die down quickly; Gabriel had the Gorilla out searching for his wayward son so they could nip this in the bud. But he’d come up empty thus far.
Mlle. Rossi had called, raging, and had required a lecture about tone and entitlement. She had been seething by the time he hung up on her, but Gabriel didn’t particularly care. She was outliving her use with her childish assumption he’d give in to her demands.
He had used the roiling emotions of a jealous fan to create an Akuma, but it had been defeated far too quickly for his liking,
Nathalie had returned with the tablet shortly thereafter, with a new photo and that hair. His hair had been pristine, never adulterated with anything so aggressive as dye. And now—! He matched his ‘boyfriend’—Gabriel was certain this was a fake relationship, but if he said such a thing publicly it would receive backlash—and they were feeding each other ice cream and laughing. Another picture taken by a third party.
Gabriel hadn’t even noticed the caption, or the following post essentially accusing the company of forcing him to work, until Nathalie pointed them out. Worse, there were comments from fans angry that Adrien was not permitted to play with that ridiculous band.
theofficialchloebourgeois: I didn’t know it was that bad, Adrikins. I’ll talk to Daddy.
alya.ladyblogger: @theofficialchloebourgeois Pretty sure this violates child labor laws, too. #LetAdrienGoToSchool
theofficialchloebourgeois: @alya.ladyblogger Will bring that up.
The Instagram tag the Ladyblogger had created had started going viral, even spreading to Twitter.
The TVi news was even using it. Curious, Gabriel clicked on the article they’d linked to.
Model Adrien Agreste Comes Out, Alleges Being Forced to Date New Gabriel Muse, Lila Rossi
Leaked Rossi text messages include threats
When he saw the image of the text messages, he hurled the tablet against the wall.
Nathalie gave him a reproachful look and he glowered at her. “You were due for an upgrade anyway,” he hissed, still trying to contain his rage.
Clearly Mlle. Rossi had become more than an inconvenience.
“Inform Mlle. Rossi that her association with Gabriel has ended, as she has provided an unsavory image for the brand. Announce that on the official social media. Make sure the announcement planned for tomorrow is stopped.”
A stress headache, perhaps even a migraine, was coming on.
--
Marinette returned home with freshly painted pink fingernails, and Jagged loudly praising her nonexistent design ideas.
“Marinette Dupain-Chang, would you care to comment on your relationship with former Gabriel model Lila Rossi?”
Oh, that had been tempting. ‘Former’? They hadn’t seen that bit of information before she’d left—she’d have to text that to Kagami and Luka, who would share it with Adrien. They’d agreed that he’d need to keep his cell phone off to avoid the GPS locater, until they’d gotten enough done.
Jagged posed for the camera, hugging her one-armed. “That horrid girl has been bullying my niece here. Kept her too afraid to say anything. But Uncle Jagged’s here to take care of his Marinette.”
Then he pushed past Nadja Chamack to enter the bakery—let in by her parents despite it being after hours. They presented him with a large box of macrons to thank him, and asked if he would be free to join the family for dinner the next night—specifying that ‘the team’ was welcome, too.
Adrien, Luka, and Kagami had been insistent that she should bring them in on the plan, that they have some adults they could lean on aside from Jagged, whose stay in Paris would only be so long.
Marinette hadn’t been certain about letting them in on the fake relationship details, but they had been appropriately horrified at Adrien’s treatment and had immediately been on board. Everything had fallen into place, and maman had insisted after tomorrow she would take her break from the bakery to coincide with Marinette’s walk to school, so she could escort her for her protection.
They had a plan, a script, for Luka and Adrien’s relationship. She just had to be ready early tomorrow to be escorted to school, and be ready for any media attention.
And they had decided that Luka should be seen with Adrien, saying goodbye before the school day with appropriate closeness. They hadn’t specified what it should be, but that part could be ad-libbed. Regardless, the media would eat it up.
She updated her parents over dessert fruit tarts, then pleaded exhaustion and headed up to her room to get ready for bed. On her way up, she texted Luka and Kagami the news about Lila.
Tikki looked a bit exasperated when she was finally able to leave Marinette’s purse, and for a moment she was worried the kwami disagreed with what they were doing, that she’d be disappointed.
“I didn’t realize Adrien had it so bad,” Tikki said instead. “That poor boy. I’m glad you came to his side; I know it might be hard to watch him in a pretend relationship with Luka.”
Marinette relaxed. Tikki was on her side.
“I knew his father was awful, but I didn’t know it was this bad, either. If we do this right, M. Agreste will be under enough scrutiny to give Adrien some freedom.”
“He deserves better,” the kwami commented, taking the cookie Marinette offered her.
Marinette nodded. “Do you think I’m doing enough?”
“You’re doing everything you can.” Tikki set down the cookie and put one tiny hand on Marinette’s. “And… I think Luka was right. You expect too much of yourself. I know you’re Ladybug, but you’re also Marinette. You don’t need to bottle things up. You don’t need to be perfect.”
Marinette was silent for a bit, thinking about that. She’d always tried to stay strong on her own—even during the worst of Chloé’s bullying, she hadn’t reached out. Part of it was learning that Chloé could get away with a lot because of her status; teachers were rarely willing to punish the daughter of the mayor, so instead Marinette had been told she was being too sensitive, or that she needed to be the bigger person and be an example. All she’d wound up being is an example of a doormat.
In the past year, she’d learned that what her teachers had done was considered gaslighting. She’d managed to let them convince her that her feelings weren’t important. Marinette had been afraid to tell her parents everything, because if they told her the same thing…
Ever since Alya had come, she’d been able to start growing out of that—all it had taken was someone standing up for her.
“Thanks, Tikki.”
The kwami sighed. “Honestly, I should have helped you take care of this Lila situation earlier. It’s gone on too long. I let you flounder, even after you were almost Akumatized. I didn’t even think about how this was effecting you. I’m sorry, Marinette.”
Marinette brought Tikki up to her face and kissed her cheek. “I was doing what Luka said—putting on a front. I need to trust you and my parents and my friends more.”
“We’ll learn together,” Tikki told her with a smile. “I’m so proud of you, Marinette!”
They snuggled cheek to cheek for a moment, and then Marinette went to the bathroom to prepare for bed, leaving Tikki to her cookie.

The last words of Miroku’s translation echoed in the room, all eyes glued to the tall silver haired man in the middle of the room. Inuyasha turned back to face the group, noticing that their eyes held various levels of consideration to abject disbelief.
“So, wait a minute…”
“You realize how insane that sounds.”
“Interesting, I had wondered about the legends”
“Shit now I have to remember that with the counsel”
Inuyasha’s ears tucked down atop his head as the other four members of the room all started talking over each other, their voices echoing and assaulting his ears. After the first few words he could not make out any distinct sentences as the noise level rose. A low growl rumbled through the room, underscoring the din that sounded like a cacophony to his sensitive hearing. Kagome picked up on the sound first, her voice trailing off as she reached out and laid a hand on Sango’s shoulder, motioning to her to lower her voice. Miroku caught the movement out of the corner of his eye and stopped.
“… I mean, I suppose the Yokai will know but this is almost more than any of the human…” Totosai continued until he noticed the sudden silence around him. His face turned red as he cut off his statement mid-sentence, turning his full attention back to Inuyasha. Inuyasha’s growl faded in the blessed blessed silence, and he closed his eyes in relief.
“Ok… So… what does this all mean Professor?” Kagome asked softly, purposefully keeping her voice low.
Totosai raised a hand to rub the back of his neck. “It means, well it means we may not have a lot of time to prepare for something we were never really prepared for.”
“Well that’s helpful.” Sango tossed out sarcastically. Inuyasha focused his attention on her, puzzled by the contradiction. Her tone seemed almost flippant, yet the way her eyes were moving suggested that she was rapidly analyzing the information, and she wasn’t very happy with the outcome of her thinking. Sango looked up to Inuyasha watching her and narrowed her eyes in response. He was too damn observant.
Miroku cleared his throat “At this time, Totosai, the wisest course of action may be to have you contact the council to set up a meeting, in person, while I take Lord Inuyasha and Kagome back to the shrine to see if we can awaken the others.”
Totosai nodded and turned to Kagome. “I will do what I can to explain it all later, but as I said before, the legends I taught you are real. You were able to wake Lord Inuyasha, you will be able to awaken the others, I have faith in you.”
“But I have no idea HOW I somehow woke him up, if I was the one to wake him at all.” Kagome sputtered. That was the biggest question to her, how she supposedly woke up the silver eared god standing in the room. She was nothing special, just a graduate student with a fascination with Yokai lore, how would she wake up these alleged ‘guardians?’ Waking stone statues, glowing eyes, yokai lords and a fight to save humanity, these were never things that ever entered her realm of consideration for anything other than a book plot.
Inuyasha shifted his eyes to catch her gaze, his golden eyes capturing her chocolate eyes. His eyes softened slightly, then she saw them harden again, and Kagome wished she knew what was causing that look.
Inuyasha turned his head towards Miroku, asking “Are we able to try tonight? We will need my father and brother if it is possible to release them from their seals.”
“That will depend entirely on Kagome.” Miroku moved to Kagome’s side, relaying Inuyasha’s question to her and Sango. Kagome started to shake her head, it had been a long day, first the… whatever that was… in the shower, then a full day at the shrine, returning to her apartment after doing research to find Inuyasha… there was really only so much a woman could take in one day, but a soft whine stilled her movements. Inuyasha had caught the movement of her head and had not been able to hold back the sound. Embarrassed, he quickly turned and strode to the other side of the room, one ear trained back for the few snippets of conversation he could understand.
Kagome’s eyes closed with a sigh. “What exactly would I need to do, if I can do anything at all?”
Miroku looked at her sheepishly before admitting “well, we have a general idea of what needs to be done, it’s just the… how to do it part that’s a little less clear.”
Sango placed her hand on her friend’s shoulder, glaring at Miroku. “You had better figure it out fast buddy. We’ve both had a really long day and don’t need to be traipsing through the woods at midnight.”
“Well, my dear Sango, it isn’t midnight it is actually only 10 o’clock” a narrowing of Sango’s eyes had him stammering “but… yeah I guess it would be midnight by the time we were coming back.”
“We will be taking the day off from excavating the shrine tomorrow.” Totosai interjected. “I will be focusing on relaying information to the council and setting up the meetings, meaning you do not have to be up as early Kagome.”
Kagome looked to her professor before turning her attention to watch Inuyasha pace on the other side of the room.
“Let’s go then.” She saw Inuyasha’s ears perk a moment before his head turned towards them.
Sango moved her hand from Kagome’s shoulder to her elbow. “All four of us will go.” She insisted, her eyes narrow as she watched Miroku. She leaned down and whispered to Kagome “I refuse to leave you alone with the Hentai and Cosplay Boy.” Kagome crossed her other arm over to touch Sango’s hand in gratitude. She didn’t expect either to try anything (and Inuyasha looked like he could destroy anyone who tried to hurt them) but she appreciated the support.

Ten minutes later Kagome and Sango stood outside, watching Miroku try and convince Inuyasha to get back into the horseless carriage while Inuyasha stalked around it in a circle, growling at it.
“Hey Sango” Kagome said softly “how are you not freaked out about this?”
“Oh, trust me Kagome, I am freaked the fuck out.” Sango said with a slight laugh. “The funny thing is though I was raised on these stories, my father would tell my brother and I a version of this, granted with a lot less detail, as we trained in martial arts with him. How the fuck was I supposed to know they weren’t just stories.” She sighed. “Funny huh, you don’t pay attention when you had the chance, and when you really need to know, the person who can help you isn’t there anymore.”
Miroku was finally able to convince Inuyasha into the front seat of the jeep, leaving Kagome and Sango in the back, with Sango acting as the reluctant navigator to the shrine. Inuyasha closed his eyes as the wind brushed past his face, listening to the soft sounds of the conversation behind him. The world around him seemed strange, foreign, but the soft breeze was familiar, almost soothing to his senses. It seemed like only a moment before they stopped, and the sounds of the forest whispered in Inuyasha’s ears, welcoming him home. Miroku and the girls exited the jeep, Inuyasha carefully watching them to see how they were able to be freed from the contraption with little success. Kagome heard his light growls of frustration and moved to open the door. Inuyasha’s ears lowered slightly as he nodded his thanks to her as he unfolded and stood up.
“Here, Inuyasha, watch me.” Kagome smiled at him as she showed him how to operate the door to exit and enter the car. He flashed her a look of pure gratitude, and she knew that if there had been more light, he would have seen her cheeks turning pink. She heard a soft chuckle and knew that even with the low light he had seen her blush. He was easily one of the most attractive men she had ever met, and she felt flustered every time he got close.
Miroku grabbed three camping lanterns out of the back of the jeep and handed one to both Sango and Kagome to illuminate their way into the shrine. The girls had spent the majority of the last week in the shrine, yet at night it seemed foreign, almost haunted as the lights from the lanterns danced across the cold marble. As they entered the main room, Kagome swore she saw a soft golden light pulsing through the walls. She saw Inuyasha’s head turn slightly to the left wall, and she let out a breath in relief that she wasn’t seeing things.
As they reached the center of the room, Miroku turned in a circle, letting out a whistle as he saw the statues for the first time. “This is… somehow more than I ever anticipated it would be.”
Inuyasha moved quickly to the edge of the room and tapped a light pattern on the wall. The humans heard the distinct sound of moving stone, and Inuyasha walked back towards them, the shimmering dagger in his hand. Miroku held out his hand, silently asking to inspect the relic. After a long pause, Inuyasha reluctantly relinquished it.
Kagome gasped, as Miroku took possession of the dagger she saw a subtle glow of gold around his hand, but it did not spread through the blade.
“Just as Totosai thought.” Miroku looked closely at the blade and the shift of the colors. “Its energy has been depleted. We had thought that I would have been able to restore its energy.” He turned towards Kagome, shifting his hold to offer her the handle of the dagger. Kagome hesitated; she was afraid to touch it. She was afraid that nothing would happen which would disappoint the group and if the story Inuyasha had told them was to be believed, doom the world. She was also equally afraid that something would happen, and that she would be able to help awaken the others. She just wasn’t sure which possibility scared her more.
Before Kagome could force herself to move, Sango reached out and snatched the dagger away from Miroku. The golden glow faded, leaving only a shimmering silver toned dagger with a marble handle. Sango’s face dropped; she had hoped she would be able to spare her friend from having to handle the dagger. She had heard of weapons like these before, her father had described weapons charged with energy to enhance their effectiveness. Like all the other stories, she had thought they were just myths, but here was the proof that they were all true, both standing in front of her and in her hand. Her eyes met Kagome’s as she handed her best friend the dagger and watched.
Nothing happened.
Kagome felt herself sag inwards as she stared at the silvery dagger in her hand, searching for any hint of gold. She felt like an idiot, she had gotten caught up in the story being woven by Inuyasha, Miroku and Totosai and their belief that she would be able to help. She should have known better. She was just an archeology student in her mid-20’s, not a priestess or shrine maiden.
“Kagome” Miroku said softly as he moved closer to her yet stopped short of moving to her side. “I want you to focus on the dagger, see if you can feel the flow of air around you, and try to feel for a pulse around the dagger.”
Kagome followed his instructions, allowing her eyes to close, focusing on what she felt around her. A soft breeze came through the shrine from the staircase entrance, the ends of her long ebony hair dancing around her. She felt the air caress her cheeks, and then felt it gently flowing around her arm towards the dagger. As the breeze connected with the dagger, she felt it.
A faint pulse within the dagger.
Eyes still closed, she tilted her head, focusing on that pulse as she felt it grow in strength. The pulse soon shifted to match the beating of her heart, and she felt the beats reverberate through her entire body. Sango’s soft gasp drew her out of her trance, her eyes drifting open before going wide.
The dagger was glowing brightly in her hand, and the air immediately around her had taken on a soft golden sheen, as if she were encased in a protective orb of light. Inuyasha strode towards her, his hand coming out to clasp the handle of the knife over hers. The golden color of the dagger deepened until the blade matched the burning amber of his eyes. The soft glow around Kagome contracted until the light encircled where their hands met over the blade.
“Holy Shit.” Kagome whispered as she relinquished the blade to Inuyasha. His eyes seemed to glow in the dimly lit room, the golden color burning bright through the shadows. Inuyasha swiftly turned, dagger in hand, and strode to the sealed figure of his father. He quickly drew the edge of the blade across his left palm, raising his hand to rest over the heart of the statue.
“Blood to awaken blood, the son calls the father.” Inuyasha’s voice echoed through the room, overlapping each other to add to the power of his words.
Without pause, Inuyasha moved to the statue of his brother, placing his hand again over the heart of the statue, his voice continuing to echo through the chamber “Blood to awaken blood, brother calls the brother.”
Inuyasha strode back to the dead center of the room, the other inhabitants scrambled out of his way, mesmerized by the display. Inuyasha’s golden eyes flashed as he raised the dagger straight out in front of him as it shimmered, the light dancing around the blade like flames.
“AWAKEN.”
Inuyasha’s voice seemed to come from multiple directions at his last command, as if a thousand voices were speaking as one. Miroku, Sango and Kagome stared in awe as they felt the air begin to shift around Inuyasha. The two statues with Inuyasha’s hand print began to shimmer, a golden flush spreading down their bodies from the bloody marks on the chest. The marks on the two statues faces darkened into a deep purple and as one both statues took their first breath in over 500 years.
