‼️TWIN SHENANIGANS‼️
Platonic Damian Al Ghul-Wayne x Twin!Reader
Imagine having two demons that are from the league of assassins…but only one of them is a true menace to society while the other is just …normal?
Two robins? Double trouble for Bruce because Damian is the older twin while you are the younger one. Of course you will follow him without a doubt.
You two paint, draw, and do anything together, it’s a nice sibling bonding. Sure what if Damian was a bit jealous and almost booby-trapped Dick when you started calling him “brother.” So what?
You need help? He’s helping you, not by just giving you straight up answers but mostly letting you understand.
Someone picks on you, immediately they have a bruised eye and lip. But that’s when Damian is having a nice day though, if he isn’t. He almost sent them to the hospital and got expelled.
Sometimes you two hold each other hands as if you both were the girls from “the shining”😭
When you can’t figure out what outfit you want to wear, don’t worry! Your twin Damian is gonna lay you out straight! He immediately makes you match with him as he smirks at you two looking the same.
You both do combo moves with each other. Literally training each other to see what moves you can pull off at the same time.
Tim was scared of you, like he personally thought you were gonna try and kill him only for you to make him a drawing and he immediately calmed down. That was until a certain demon popped up talking about “Twin, let’s go.” And you left. Making Tim confused before realizing twins exist…man coffee was getting to his brain.
I won’t lie, Damian may be a small bully towards you. But when you cry, that’s when he stops and show his soft side. You are his other part of him, it hurts to see you cry.
Literal definition of “only I can mess with my sibling…”

How can non-Jewish writers include Jewish characters in supernatural stories without erasing their religion in the process?
Anonymous asked:
I have a short story planned revolving around the supernatural with a Jewish character named Danielle (who uses they/them pronouns). Danielle will be one of a trio who will be solving the mystery of two brides' deaths on the day of their wedding. My concern with this is the possibility of accidentally invalidating Danielle's religion by focusing on a secular view of the afterlife. At the same time, I don't want to assume that Jewish people can't exist in paranormal stories, nor do I want to use cultural elements that don't belong to me. So, how do I make sure that Danielle is included in the plot without erasing their Jewishness?
Okay so to start with I think we need to ask a question about the premise: what is a secular afterlife? I’m not asking this to nitpick or be petty, but to offer you expanded ways of thinking through this issue and maybe others as well.
A Secular Afterlife
What is a secular afterlife? To begin with, I get what you mean. The idea of an afterlife we see in pop culture entities like ghost media owes more to a mixture of 19th-century spiritualist tropes drawn from titillating gothic novels than to anything preached from the pulpit of an organized house of worship. Yet those tropes--the ominous knocking noises from beyond, the spectral presences on daguerrotype prints, the sudden chill and the eerie glow, all of those rely on the idea of there being something beyond this life, some continuation of the spirit when the body has ceased to breathe. For that, you need to discount the ideas that the consciousness has moved on to another physical body and is currently living elsewhere, and that it was never separate from the body and has now ceased to exist. Can we say that this is secular?
More so: Gothic literature, as the name suggests, draws heavily on Catholic imagery, even when it avoids explicit references to Catholicism. Aside from the architectural imagery, Catholic religious symbols permeate the genre, as well as the larger horror and supernatural media genres that grew from it: Dracula flinches from a crucifix, priests expel demons from human bodies, Marley’s Ghost haunts Ebenezer Scrooge in chains. The concepts of heaven and hell, and nonhuman beings who dwell in those places, are critical to making the narratives work.
The basis also draws from a biblical story, that of the Witch of Endor. The main tropes of Victorian spiritualism are present: Saul never sees the ghost of Samuel, only the Witch of Endor is able to see “A divine being rising” from wherever he rises from, and her vague description, “I see an old man rising, wearing a robe,” evokes the cold readings of charlatan mediums into the present (Indeed, some rabbinic sources commenting on this assert that this is exactly what was going on).
While neither of these views of its origin define the genre as the sole property of Catholicism--or of Judaism for that matter--it would be hard exactly to categorize them as secular.
A Jewish Perspective on ghosts
However, it’s not the case that ghost media is incompatible with Jewishness, assuming that it doesn’t commit to a view of heaven and hell duality that specifically embraces a Christian spiritual framework.
Jewish theology is noncommittal on the subject of the afterlife. The idea of a division between body and soul in the first place is found in ancient Egypt, for instance, earlier than the earliest Jewish texts. In Jewish text it’s present in narratives like the creation story, in which God crafts a human body out of earth and then breathes life into it once it’s complete. It also appears in our liturgy: the blessings prescribed to be recited at the beginning of the day juxtapose Elohai Neshama, a blessing for the soul, with Asher Yatzar, expressing gratitude for the body, recited by many after successfully using the bathroom.
Yet it’s not clear that this life-force is something separate than the body that lives beyond it, until the apparition of the Witch of Endor. The words we use to describe it, whatever it is, evoke the process of breathing rather than that of eternal life: either ruach (spirit, or wind) or neshama (soul, or breath): neither is a commitment to the idea that it does--or that it doesn’t--go somewhere else when the body returns to the earth.
Jewish folklore, however, leans into the idea of ghosts and other spiritual beings inhabiting the earthly plane (and others). Perhaps most famous is the 1937 movie The Dybbuk, in which a young scholar engaging in kabbalistic practices calls upon dark forces to unite him and his fated love, only to find himself possessing her body as a dybbuk. It appears that he is about to be successfully exorcized, but ultimately when his soul leaves her body, hers does as well.
More relevantly to your story, a Jewish folktale inspired the movie The Corpse Bride. In the folktale version, a newly-engaged man jokingly recites the legal formula he will soon recite at his wedding, and places his ring on the finger of a nearby corpse--a reference to a time when antisemitic violence is said to have gotten worse not only at Jewish and Christian holidays as it does still to this day, but around Jewish weddings as well. The murdered bride stands up, a corpse reanimated complete with consciousness, and demands that the bridegroom honor his legal obligation.
In the movie, the bride gives up her demand willingly: her claim on him is emotional rather than legal, and she finally accepts that he has an emotional connection with another person, that he doesn’t love her. In the folk tale, the dead woman takes him to court to decide whether their marriage is legal, since he spoke the legal words to her in front of witnesses as is required, and the court rules that the dead do not have the right to make legal demands on the living. In this version, the moral of the story is that a legal formula is an obligation; that when he jokingly bound himself to the corpse, he not only disrespected the dead but also the legal framework that structures society, and by so doing risked being obligated to keep his side of a contract he never intended to enact.
This speaks to the ways that a Jewish outlook can differ from a Christian-influenced “secular” one. Christian-influenced cultural ideas can often focus around feeling the right thing, while Jewish stories will often center on doing the right thing. Does the Corpse Bride leave because she realizes she is not the one he loves? Because she--or he--learned a valuable lesson? Or because she loses her court case? It’s not that the boy’s emotions are irrelevant to the story--the tension, the suspense, the horror of the story takes place primarily within the boy’s emotional landscape--but emotions on their own are not a solution. The question “should he marry her” can be answered emotionally, but “has he married her” can only be answered by a legal expert, and once it has been the deceased bride may not have changed her emotional attachment to him, but she no longer has legal standing to pursue her claim.
Centering legal rectitude over emotional catharsis isn’t a requirement for having Jewish characters in your story, but it’s worth thinking about what is and isn’t universal, what is and isn’t actually all that secular.
Meanwhile, back at the topic:
Where does any of this place Danielle?
Well, unless you’re positing a universe in which Christian or other deities or cosmologies are confirmed to exist (See Jewish characters in a universe with author-created fictional pantheons for more on that topic), there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be perfectly fine interacting with whatever the setting you’re building throws at them.
My wishlist for this character and setting runs more to the general things to consider when writing fantasy settings with Jewish characters:
Don’t confirm or imply that Jesus is a divine being. That means no supernatural items like splinters of the cross, grails, nails, veils, etc. There’s nothing particularly powerful or empowering about this one guy who lived and died like so many others.
Don’t show God’s body and especially not God’s face, or confirm that any other gods or deities exist, whether that’s Jesus, Aphrodite, or Anubis, or someone you made up for the context.
Don’t put Danielle in a position where they’re going to play into an antisemitic trope like child murder, blood drinking, world domination, or financial greed. If you have to, name it and let Danielle express discomfort with or distaste for those actions both because Jewish values explicitly oppose all of those things but also because Danielle as a Jewish character would be painfully aware of these stereotypes as present and historical excuses for antisemitic violence.
Do consider what Danielle’s personal practice might look like. What does Danielle do on Shabbat? What do they eat or refrain from eating? What are their memories of Jewish holidays and how is their current holiday observance different than their childhood? I know I say “Jewishness is diverse” on every ask, but it is, and these questions--which also underscore how very much Judaism is rooted in one’s actions during this life--will help you develop how Judaism actually functions to inform Danielle’s character, even if you don’t spell out the answers to each of these questions in text.
Do let Danielle find joy, comfort, and identity in their Jewishness not just in contrast with Christianity but simply because it’s part of the wholeness of their character. I know the primary representation of Jewishness is a snappy one-liner in a Christmas episode followed by the Jewish character joining in the Christmas spirit, blue edition, but make room for Jewishness to inform how Danielle approaches the events of your story, or why they decide to get or stay involved.

Hi it’s Shira with some Jewish ghost story recs written from inside–
When The Angels Left the Old Country by Sacha Lamb (deliriously good queer YA Jewish paranormal, mainstream enough that it’s got a good chance of being at your local library and won all kinds of awards)
The Dyke and the Dybbuk by Ellen Galford (sorry for the slur, warning for a paragraph of biphobia in the book but it’s an older book. I read this right before my divorce so my memories are super fuzzy but it’s about this modern day lesbian who gets possessed by the ghost of a different lesbian from hundreds of years earlier in Jewish history.) Nine of Swords Reversed by Xan West z’L of blessed memory - another queer Jewish paranormal.
The general plot is that two partners are struggling with how to be honest with each other about the effect disability is having on them. It’s got a very warm and fuzzy cozy vibe but kink culture is central to the worldbuilding so if that isn’t your vibe I didn’t want you to go in unaware.
The Dybbuk in Love by Sonya Taaffe. I don’t remember the details but I remember loving it, it’s m/f and romance between possessor and possessed.
I wrote a really short one called A Man of Taste where a gentile vampire woman and a Jewish ghost/dybbuk get together.

Agatha All Along deep dive: episode 8 part 7
(Wandavision entries: [1][2][3])
(AAA entries: ep1 [1][2][3][4] ep2 [1][2][3][4] ep3 [1][2][3] ep4 [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][+1] ep5 [1][2][3][4][5] ep6 [1][2][3] ep7 [1][2][3][4][5][6] ep8 [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] ep9 [1][2][3][4][5][6])
more Oz references! fury of the elements, one very pissed ex, same thing.
god but how much I love rio going feral?! it's so stupid I'm giggling and kicking my feet about it. you'd think a very old, very wise being would react like a grown ass adult after a breakup, especially because it was such a long time coming. but does rio go home to process things quietly? noooooooo she summons a whole storm and sits on a roof waiting for agatha to come out of her basement, so she can be an ass about it. if they were humans rio would be slashing agatha's tires and smashing windows and throwing rotten eggs at her house drunk at three in the morning, and you know what? good for her!!! she's been fucking trying to work things out in a mature responsible way, and it was never going to work, agatha was never going to grow up. so fuck it. agatha wants to be immature? we'll show her immature! I support my girl going full petty and unhinged, let her cry and scream and eat a whole ice cream tub and then throw it all up, let her piss all over agathas' rhododendrons, my girl has earned it.
AND she's brought her favorite soul-reaping orchid with her! she's like, I'm gonna do it! this time I'm gonna getcha! I will drag your ungrateful ass to our son kicking and screaming if I have to!!!!
...girl. we both know you ain't. like agatha is literally about to die and you still won't reap that soul without her consent. absolute loser behavior.
and agatha... well, agatha never backed off from an immaturity showdown. oooh she's gonna out-toddler you for sure.
but it's so interesting that the Road didn't give her her powers back. tbh I don't think she ever lost her powers at all, seeing as she's first and foremost a succubus and that power works just fine, if alice's fate is any indication. it's more like, three years under the spell completely drained her battery and she desperately needs to feed.
and agatha wasn't planning on joining the Road at all, as far as she was concerned it didn't even exist. like with lilia, jen and alice the Road gave her not what she asked, but what she needed all along: her prize was that moment of closure with nicky
so rio cannot kill people, she can only make them wish they were dead, and I just realized, her special talent is also being fucking annoying, just like agatha
by the way, rewatching wandavision I realized that his name is JOHN, not herb! I'm so sorry I've been calling you the wrong name this whole time, my guy. ALSO MOVE OUT OF THAT NEIGHBORHOOD DEAR LORD
same goes for you two. harold you have a daughter!
(omg a literal harold, they're lesbians.)
agatha sees the fire moon and it reminds her of alice. she draws a circle for the expelle hoc malum protection spell she's learned from her. she had a coven only for a day and look how much they've gotten under her skin.
rio gives an incredulous sigh. are you calling me "evil"? it's like, we've been over this!
I know that baby and I love you, but also you're very much sitting on a rooftop cackling like a maniac. how can these two be both so tragic and so so fucking ridiculous at the same time.
it's like, she's absolutely right, she's no villain and she's no demon, agatha should stop treating her like one and punishing her for it. but also... stop begging her to, for fuck's sake. rio, my love, have some dignity. stop chasing. you did a dramatic exit half an hour ago, WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE
agatha trying to exorcise her ex wife with a spell: clownass behavior.
rio blowing the circle away with a kiss: also clownass behavior.
but is she wrong????
lilia's turn to come in handy!
I'm sorry but... a whole sink? she threw a whole sink at her head?? this scene is so fucking hilarious, like I know some people found rio ooc but to me it makes perfect sense. I'm just sorry she didn't throw a toilet.
GO HOME, RIO. it's okay, we're gonna put up a picture of agatha in your living room and throw poop at it until you feel better or smth, it's gonna be okay, you let it all out.
^^literally rio
jen's moment: vulnus ab aqua curare.
I don't think it's going to help you much though, babe. remember when agatha kept poking wanda with a stick and got her ass kicked to oblivion in return? she's been poking DEATH for two hundred years. what did she expect???!?!
THAT IS THE HOTTEST SOMEONE HAS EVER LOOKED, DEAR LORD
and considering that rio chooses an outfit for each soul she reaps: this is what she chose for agatha??? girl, be for real!!!
aaaand she gets kicked into a wall a moment later. after her devastating sexy ass walk with the high slit dress and all. complete loser behavior.
(also hilarious: agatha's laundry hanging there the whole time)
billy came back to save agatha (awww) but not before conjuring a cool wiccan costume and doing a very dramatic entrance (awwwwwwww). literally her son.
I agree tbh
agatha's face when she realizes billy is choosing to give her magic: this is the first time someone does it willingly. and sure he is super powerful (she drained poor alice in a second), but I keep imagining a world were agatha is an important, cherished member of a community, maybe playing the vital role of teacher and knowledge keeper, and the community willingly donates magic in return, all together and on a regular basis, like people donate blood, so that no one dies and she doesn't starve.
look at how the beam changes color, and just how happy she is to finally eat. it's just the way she was born, you know? I hate that evanora turned it into something horrible when it didn't need to.
oh god, that stupid outfit again. that is agatha's "I'm such a scary merciless bitch and I don't care about your feelings" outfit. as if.
and then she realizes she's killing billy. look at her face, a moment ago she even said how good all this power feels. she could easily take it all. but of course for billy she has to stop.
so, can agatha actually control her powers? well, it's complicated, isn't it? she definitely couldn't when she was very young. possibly she never sought to learn how to as time went on.
(thank you for your patience, everyone, I'll update more regularly from now on. and you all know what happens next entry.)

When Sleep Comes Easy
Pairing: Will 'Ironhead' Miller x female reader
Words: 1.6k
Warnings: Rated E, 18+ only. Unprotected intercourse. Mentions of PTSD, panic attacks, insomnia, nightmares/night terrors, military service and death.
Summary: Will always has trouble sleeping, but after another sleepless night and an anxiety attack followed by a run to try to ease his mind, he finds another way to expel his frantic energy and finds himself in the midst of a well deserved nap.
A/N: I am such a whore for sleep intimacy and felt the need to write some for Will again. So. What.
---
The last of his deep, slow and deliberate thrusts stilled to nothing more than him pulsing inside you, your bodies drawing out the rippling aftershocks of both of your climaxes, and it was difficult to distinguish which of your thrumming heartbeats was resounding in your ears.
Will leaned down and captured your lips that were now bruised equally from his fervid kisses and rough beard, the long exhale through his nose blowing out on your cheek as he struggled to catch his breath.
You returned his kiss gratefully, hoping to continue to pour all your love for him into it as much as you had in your love-making, your chest feeling tight at the recollection of the tough day he had had so far.
Another nightmare. Another panic attack. Another sleepless night that ticked on painfully slowly into the morning where he couldn't seem to get out the front door fast enough to try to run it off, only to return home in a worse state than when he had left.
There were so many times you felt helpless, unable to give him the reprieve he needed from his own mind, but when he returned home sweaty, angry and seemingly desperate to seek out a way to channel his frantic energy, you knew exactly what it was he needed.
His lips crashing into yours at the same time he forced your back to collide with the wall eventually led to this moment now; tangled and breathless in your bed, your skin coated in a layer of sweat from a ravenous, manic pace that quickly settled into something more emotional and purposeful, his love for you shining through the darkness and the demons that he fought so often.
His forehead rested heavily against yours as he broke the seal of your lips, sighing out a somewhat shaky breath as he began to slip out of you, feeling your combined spend leak out onto the already dampened sheets beneath you.
You reached your hand up between your chests and gently traced along his lower lip, smoothing across its fullness back and forth until he puckered them and kissed the pad of your finger, his fatigue and anguish so present in his blue eyes, the circles around them dark and deep.
The muscles in his arms trembled slightly, his body as exhausted as his mind was, the definition in his forearms and biceps so prominent from his efforts while the veins that wildly coursed through them like a map of rivers bulged as though they would break through his skin.
With a sigh and a wince, he shifted to move off of you and collapsed onto his side of the bed, not changing his position much as he landed on his stomach and let his leaden limbs sink into the mattress, his eyelids falling shut while his arms snaked up under his pillow to support his head.
You expected him to only stay like that for a few minutes at most, knowing that by the time you shuffled to the bathroom to go pee and came back into your room, he would be up and heading to have a shower, but when you returned to see him still splayed out in the mess of blankets and sheets, a faint smile tugged at your lips.
Will rarely napped, usually feeling it was a waste of time and fearing it would affect his already compromised sleep, but it was evident how much he needed to rest, seeing his back moving with his shallow breaths as sleep already took hold of him.
Slipping carefully back into bed, you turned onto your side to face him, not feeling like you could fall asleep as well but happy to simply lay there and admire him.
As his body twitched and his brow furrowed, you hoped he was dreaming of something that didn't plague him, the little sleep he already got afflicted by too many nightmares, and for the millionth time since knowing him, you wished you could take it all away. Even if that was possible, Will would never let you, needing to feel all his burdens and wear them like a badge, never forgetting any of the things he's done; each life he had taken and decision he's made carefully counted and stored in his mind no matter how much time has passed. He had told you once that he believed his insomnia and night terrors were a penalty he deserved and would accept for the rest of his life, feeling like it was hardly punishment enough for some of his sins, your heart breaking all over again when you watched him suffer through another episode just as it had the day he had admitted it.
His cheeks flinched as he clenched his teeth together tightly, his arm jolting under his head, his muscles jerking and fluttering as if they were battling to keep awake while the rest of him fought to sleep.
After a few minutes, his body finally succumbed, quieting the restlessness that made him stir, his features relaxed and no longer tense or strained. Knowing he wouldn't easily wake now, you lightly traced along his hairline that had been made all messy from sex, the blond strands stuck up into spikes that went in every direction darkened from sweat that hadn't yet dried, drawing languid patterns in a trail from his forehead down along his shoulders and through the valleys on his back.
His breathing continued to steady the longer you touched him, your fingertips carefully worshiping every dip and curve of his sculpted back and up over the plump crest of his bum, feeling yourself relax and begin to keep tempo with his composed inhales and exhales.
It was tempting to want to wake him up to tell him you loved him despite having already repeated it over and over while he drove inside you and made you alternate your affirmations with his name like a mantra, but decided against it, vowing to yourself that you would tell him as many times as you could when he opened his eyes again.
Feeling yourself grow tired as the intensity of your love-making finally set in, you brought yourself closer to him, snuggling into his side where you placed a kiss on his shoulder and let your arm rest across his back.
In his slumbering state, Will lifted his arm and wrapped it around your back, scooping you toward him as he draped his leg over top of yours to lock you in place, holding onto you like he feared you suddenly wouldn't be there if he didn't, a low grunt escaping his lips as he nuzzled his face into your neck.
The security of his weight on you was something you always longed for whether it was like this or during the heated moments of passion you often shared, the way he covered most of your body with his a sense of comfort and assurance that couldn't be matched.
You inhaled deeply, drawing in the scent of his sweat and sex that hung in the air, his skin holding onto all the remnants of his hardships along with your love that helped to wane them, the warmth of his body convincing you to allow your heavy eyelids to close despite not wanting to give up the opportunity to see how gorgeous he looked when he slept.
As you began to drift off, you prayed for the things that haunted him to grace him some peace for as long as possible, selfishly wanting to stay like this forever, the rarity of Will indulging in rest that wasn't scheduled or forced only to be broken by his pain something you would sacrifice your own for without hesitation.
Without knowing the time, it was clear that hours had passed when you opened your eyes to see your room shrouded in darkness, Will's bare body still draped over yours comfortably. You carded your hand up and down his back soothingly, hearing his breathing change as he slowly woke up, his soft groans rumbling through his chest while his lips began to pepper kisses along the column of your neck.
You smiled, the sensation of his mouth on your sensitive skin as well as his hard cock pressing into your thigh awakening the building need inside you, your slight grin fading as your lips melted against his when he brought his mouth to meet yours.
Will propped himself up slightly, positioning himself overtop of you, slowly guiding his cock inside your tight walls that stretched to fit him with a lingering soreness from earlier.
"Thank you," he whispered in a raspy voice, his nose nudging yours adoringly.
You sighed and returned his act of affection by rubbing your nose against his, knowing the reason why he was thanking you was because you helped him sleep, the ease of it reviving him and leaving him in awe of you. Words seemed to fail you so instead you kissed him slowly, your hips beginning to roll in a tepid motion, his tongue claiming access to your mouth with a firm demand to contrast from the languid actions of your bodies.
"I love you, Will," you eventually murmured when your lips parted briefly.
He smiled, the lines around his mouth that still managed to be visible through his growing beard making your heart swell even more, pausing his movements inside you for a moment.
"I love you, too, sweetheart."
Your hands wrapped around the back of his neck, pulling him back to you, kissing him like you needed the air from his lungs in order to breathe, his pace increasing to pump in and out of you with vigorous intent.

day 24: collapsed building/lyric
what would you do for your family? for your home? Duke has to answer that question.
warnings and tags: canon typical violence, hurt duke, duke saves gotham (and the world) collapsed building, angst, some sibling bonding, good sibling jason todd, mention of injury but nothing graphic

His ears were ringing. Everything hurt and his ears were ringing, which was all he seemed to be able to focus on. But, after a… well, he didn’t know how long, but after some period of time, he started to get his awareness of the world back.
At first, he could feel nothing but pain, but now he could feel the pinch of his body armor from an awkward position and what he assumed to be a rock pressing into his back. Then he could feel a chill in his bones, which wasn’t good.
He didn’t get cold, why was he cold?
Duke’s suit was ruined, not that he really noticed. He was more focused on the giant demon destroying Gotham, and also, coming straight at him for another fight. One Duke didn’t think he could win.
As he stood there, teeth gritted in determination, he thought of his parents. Bruce made sure they were well taken care of, in a home more than qualified to do so. And Duke was grateful for that, for everything he’d gained since Bruce took him in. But he missed them. Missed the life he had before him, before Batman, before Signal. Before Bruce.
And as he stared down this demon, he remembered when his powers first appeared, the day he lost his parents.
He remembered laying on the ground and staring up at the sky. All he’d been able to think was “I never knew daylight could be this violent.” though, that was before he’d realized that the daylight he was seeing was him, was his abilities coming to life to save his.
It came to him then, how to stop this demon. So, he took every last ounce of strength in his body, and pulled light into him as the demon came to a stop in front of him.
Then he became the sun, expelling light, more than he’d ever done before and brighter than he ever had. And he killed the demon, though he did cause a few buildings to collapse, the force of his light too strong. Then he promptly blacked out, falling with the building he’d been standing on.
Duke frowned, still not understanding why he was so cold. Was it because he’d used his powers so intensely? Was he dying? Was he already dead, but been unable to come to terms with it?
He decided that whatever the case was, he needed to get up. That would answer his questions, or at least rule out him being dead.
So he gritted his teeth, and tried to roll over, crying out as fire licked up his back, but managed to get onto his belly. “Dad!” he sobbed. He didn’t know who he was calling for.
Slowly, he forced himself to get onto his hands and knees, then to stand up. When he turned around, his body wasn’t laying in the ruble, so he wasn’t dead, which, in the grand scheme of things, seemed good.
Now to get out.
Over the course of a few hours, which he knew because he kept checking his watch, he managed to climb and dig his way out of the collapsed building. When he stumbled onto the street, he sat down on a piece of rubble and waited for someone to find him.
As he sat, he realized he was still cold. In fact, he was shivering. So he tried to draw his powers up because they always warmed him up when he used them.
But they didn’t come.
Nothing happened.
Why wasn’t anything happening?
Duke started to hyperventilate, panic filling his mind. Why didn’t they work? They came from a genetic variation, it wasn’t like they could be taken. At least, he didn’t think they could.
As he stared at his hands, trying to calm down and think, the world started to flicker around the edges, and he looked up, shadows dancing in all the wrong ways. Then the shadows receded, disappeared.
A flash of light, blinding him.
Duke was standing on a building in a ruined suit, staring down a rampaging demon.
Oh.
He’d been seeing the future. If he used his powers like that, if he became the sun, he’d kill the demon, but he’d lose his powers somehow. That part wasn’t as clear, but he knew that’s what would happen.
“Signal, do you copy?” Batman’s voice over comms startled Duke a bit.
“Yeah, I copy. What’s wrong?”
“The demon. Can you see it?”
Duke looked up. “Yeah, I can.” Glancing around, he found street signs. “It’s heading down Main. I’m on the corner of Main and 22nd.”
“Get outta there, Signal!” Nightwing’s voice was loud, scared. “We can’t beat it!”
But he could. He could kill the demon and he knew this part of the city had already been evacuated. There’d be no deaths, maybe a few injuries, minus himself.
And if he had to lose his powers to save the world, he’d do it. Batman, his brothers, his sisters, they all defended Gotham without powers. He’d be fine.
“I can.” he said quietly. “B, a couple buildings are going to collapse. It’ll take me a few hours to get out, but I’ll be okay.” Duke didn’t mention the part where he’d lose his powers.
He heard yelling over the comms, but ignored it, pulling light into his body, so much more than he’d ever done before, and then, he did what he’d done when he’d seen the future.
He became the sun.
Almost four hours later, Duke dug himself out of a collapsed building, and was met by Red Hood, which surprised him. “Hood?” he croaked.
“Signal.” Jason whispered and pulled Duke into a hug, carefully holding him to his chest. “You’re okay. You’re okay.”
Duke was pretty sure Jason was comforting both of them, but he didn’t care. His brother was here and he was alive and he was okay.
“Where’s B?” he mumbled after a beat.
“Helping to pick up the city. I volunteered to wait for you. Scared the shit out of us, kid.” Jason said, voice gentle.
“Thanks.”
“You’re my brother. And...and I know what it’s like to dig yourself out of a grave.”
He did, didn’t he? “Thank you.” Duke said again, pulling back to look at Jason. “Can we go home?”
“Yeah, course we can, kiddo.” Jason pulled Duke with him, and once they were both settled on his bike, he sped off towards the cave, Duke pressed against his back.
And as they drove through Gotham, Duke knew that no matter what happened, he’d be okay.

Currently sick, dying from a headache, and I now I am thinking of random things I now accept as chaos gods teaming up, because I think it's funny.
Number 1
This mf is nurgle and slaanesh teaming up, because why else would you want a virus to do unspeakable things to you because it's attractive? I mean, if somehow a keeper of secrets got corrupted by nurgle (if that was even possible) I feel like it would default to Thrax. Like how everything inevitably evolves into crabs, infected keepers of secrets inevitably turn into Thrax from Asmosis Jones. I don't make the rules.
I will have to draw Thrax as a keeper of secrets now, that will be on the long list of drawings I must unleash upon the world.
Number 2
Credits to @/CathChicken on Twitter for the original meme. There is a tumblr by the same name, but I am too sick to make sure they're the same person-

Period cramps are a team up between slaanesh and Khorne. Ovarian cysts, plus some symptoms that vary from person to person, are a suggestion from nurgle.
Excessive amounts of pain, horniness, and feeling lots of emotions at once? That's slaanesh's half.
Hormones, overstimulation, and the body literally ripping itself apart to tear out the insides of the womb and expell it? And that all makes you EXTREMELY quick to anger and/or easily annoyed? That's khorne, baby.
Shitting your life out, vomiting, feeling bloated, excessive sweating from the pain, plus a bunch of medical complications that make periods worse? Nurgle made some suggestions. That or was allowed in on the collab.
Number 3
Hear me out cakes are collabs between slaanesh and Tzeentch, and they both laugh whenever servants of the other two gods end up on there. (Btw, these are not all my hear me outs, they just wouldn't all fit-). Unconventional horniness and finding attraction to things that are not part of the norm feels very slaaneshi. Some of the hear me outs, and I mean the ones you REALLY need to sit down and listen to, definitely seem like pure madness, so Tzeentch was down.
Number 4
cognitohazards like you see in lots of analog horror are a surprising collab between Tzeentch and Nurgle. I mean, catching disease-like symptoms through seeing, hearing, or learning something forbidden? Nurgle and Tzeentch core.
Number 5
Mental disabilities are an undivided collab pitched by Tzeentch as part of a grand scheme. Why do I think this? Funny, and my own experiences with anxiety and cptsd, plus probably some undiagnosed autism, I feel like I would be very subseptable to chaos. Also funny reference to how mental disabilities were once chocked up to kids being changlings replaced by demons or fae, because... yes. (My headache is getting worse as of writing this-) I'd probably fall nurgle, with how I struggle to take care of myself at times.
Number 6

Fandom in general is undivided collaboration (and the forces of chaos also feel like they would be in Fandoms to me. Because that's funny to me. Imagine Ao3 for chaos daemons, writing about mortals or smth. Or daemons writing about themselves to gas up their own shit-)
Nurgle is the reason why there are stereotypes about con goers not having hygeine
Khorne plays apart in shipping wars, drama, and cancel culture
Tzeentch is why there are so many wacky theories (and is probably why matpat went insane)
And slaanesh is behind all fanart. The cute, the depraved, the horny, everything.
Number 7
No picture for this one, but i said it in the past. Nurgle and Khorne teamed up for hemorrhoids
Number 8
This is less of a collab and more slaanesh taking notes from the "older(?)" Gods. The wide, wide spectrum of kinks (shaming none) from diaper kinks, to hypnosis, goro, to pretty much anything, it was slaanesh looking at the other chaos gods going "Hey, what if it was horny?" Then stealing some gimmicks.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk, I'm gonna go die bc of my sinuses-

Exorcisms & Seances
Mediums and exorcists don’t only see ghosts – they have a number of rituals that can draw them in, commune with them, and even force them to move on or be expelled from a host. These rituals are known as seances and exorcisms, though different cultures or families may refer to them by different names. It’s not uncommon for mediums who choose not to become exorcists to spend their time perfecting seance rituals, while exorcists dive headfirst into the exorcisms and tend to leave the seances to the more experienced mediums. Both types of rituals serve different purposes, and though one might suppose exorcisms are the dangerous sort, seances are far from risk-free.
The most commonly practiced rituals historically stemmed from the Roman Empire, hence the prevalence of Latin for chants. In pop culture, it’s common for Christianity to be invoked. However, these rituals can be found in nearly any ancient language if one knows where to look, and they span across cultures, religions, and times, resulting in a wide variety of ways to conduct an exorcism or seance. Mediums and exorcists draw their power for rituals from the ghost or demon they're exorcising, making their powers different from magic spellcasters use. This means that when handling a powerful ghost, their own power grows for the ritual and short period afterward. This can allow exorcists to go toe-to-toe with the nastiest of ghosts and demons, but the power can “overload” them as well, causing catastrophe. In this state, a medium might experience a range of things from being disoriented and confused to having their spirit severed from their body making them a strong host for possession.
GENERAL TECHNIQUES:
Focal Point: A focal point can be any object that a medium or exorcist feels personally connected to. The deeper the connection, the more effective the focal point is. Mediums may employ focal points to further amplify their skills and improve their concentration, whereas those conducting exorcisms find them to be a necessary and grounding part of the ritual – if they wish to improve their odds of surviving.
Anti-Possession Wards: Exorcists and mediums can both make anti-possession charms. These are usually small ritual bags or objects that will make it more difficult for the holders/wearers of them to be possessed. All wards have their limitations – some may only function for a certain amount of time around a ghost, others may need to be recharged somehow, and others might have a drawback for the user.
Spectral Sight: Mediums and exorcists are sometimes trained in short rituals that allow for those not otherwise able to see ghosts to see them for a short amount of time. This is limited to the area around the medium or exorcist. This isn’t consequence-free – those who use this to see ghosts often find their vision is in some way abnormal for the following few days, such as double or flipped vision.
EXORCISMS
Exorcisms have a few primary uses – they can force lingering spirits to move on, they can destroy the very essence of poltergeists or demons, and they can remove ghosts or demons from the hosts they are inhabiting. Most commonly used exorcisms have been well-established for centuries. These ancient words carry the power to cast out, banish, harm, or even destroy various ghosts and demons. However, very experienced exorcists who have an extensive knowledge of the language of choice can combine rituals or create new ones to combat whatever they happen to be up against.
EXORCISM TECHNIQUES:
Removal: This type of ritual is meant to force a ghost or demon out of the host. There are a number of variations on the typical removal incantation, though all achieve the same ends if done correctly. Removal incantations can be altered or made more specific to deal with a particular kind of spirit or demon, which doesn’t respond to the typical ritual. This can only be done through chant and exorcism – salt or iron alone won’t do it. The stronger the poltergeist and longer the possession, the more involved the ritual is.
Banishment: Very similar to removals, with the added power of forcing the ghost or demon away from the immediate area and keeping it from returning. Most banishments require more than just an incantation to focus the exorcist’s power. A common addition is a chalk circle drawn out on the floor, which the spirit or demon must be lured into. These circles can also be made with salt, ink, or blood.
Harm: Harm incantations are meant to inflict pain on the target and are typically used in conjunction with a banishment or destruction ritual. They are meant to be a last resort, but they are at times necessary if the target is too powerful to successfully exorcise without further exhausting it. A successful harm incantation can completely immobilize a ghost or demon for several minutes, but exorcists can be completely drained and vulnerable afterward.
Destruction/Execution: These rituals are meant to completely destroy a spirit or demon, leaving no trace of them behind. Most exorcists have a few memorized, and they tend to require the most focus and energy. Some may necessitate another exorcist joining in or something else to focus their power.
SEANCES
Mediums are the masters of seances, and they use them to draw ghosts to a certain location, connect with them on a higher level, forge pacts with them, or help them move on from the earthly plane. Rituals may differ from medium to medium, but most involve chalk circles drawn around the area of the ritual. Chances of success may be improved by using objects tied to the individual ghost that is being brought forth. In the case of mediums who might do seances in exchange for some money, these objects are often provided by the family of the deceased. While seances come with inherently less risk than exorcisms due to primarily dealing with ghosts and not poltergeists, they’re not risk-free, and some ghosts can be tricky even if they’re not poltergeists.
SEANCE TECHNIQUES:
Pacts: Mediums may conduct seances to create pacts with spirits. By forming a pact, the medium may then have a ghost who acts as their protector or may otherwise help them. In return, the spirit receives protection from progressing into a poltergeist, or another kind of spectral favor. These pacts are not bound by words in the way deals with demons or fae may be, but rather are forged by the strength of the seance itself, as well as the medium’s power. As such, the more pacts a medium forms with more ghosts, the more likely it will come at a cost – such as decreasing their lifespan or making them physically weaker.
Departure: Mediums are capable of drawing in ghosts who are not able to move on by themselves with a seance and conducting a simple departure ritual, which are chants to help spirits move on. Because these are relatively simple to do, they’re often the first rituals that mediums become comfortable with. Departure rituals are easier to do when the ghost is willing.
Tether: By forging a spiritual connection between a ghost and a specific object or place, mediums can tether the two together. This keeps a ghost confined to one small area, which can have many uses. Once a tether is placed, the only way to untether the ghost is to do an additional ritual, or exorcise it.
LIMITS & RISKS:
Any exorcism or seance is only as powerful as the exorcist or medium. The stronger a spirit or a demon is, the stronger the ritual needs to be to deal with them or summon them to a location. An exorcist’s or medium’s power is in their words and willpower, so if they misspeak or stop mid-incantation, their target can easily break free and attack, or in the case of a seance, fail to be summoned at all. As exorcists are only human, they are very susceptible to injuries mid-exorcism, which leads to a fairly short lifespan for most. While seances are safer than exorcisms, ghosts may not like being summoned and may not want to work with the medium; others may be straight up malicious and wish to cause harm even if they are not (yet) a poltergeist.
There are also a number of risks for the host. Removals of typical ghosts tend to inflict the least amount of harm, if any at all. Removing a poltergeist or a demon can do far more significant damage depending on how reluctant they are to relinquish their host. Though they are generally only performed once the spirit or demon has left the host, harm and execution rituals can be used while someone is possessed and often do a severe amount of damage to the host as well, sometimes destroying them right alongside the intended target.
Some of the toughest exorcisms involve demons, particularly powerful, greater demons which require the use of their true name to exorcise. Their true name can be difficult to find, as they go by many aliases, but it’s the key to being able to free their vessels. Lesser demons and monsters have no such requirement but are often more challenging than ghosts.

Naamah - Part 3
Powers and rulership: Love, sacred sexuality, lust and desire, comfort, healing, nurturing, safety, relationships, protection and wellness for animals and vegetation, comfort for the dying and departed souls, healing, introspection, reassurance, discernment, serenity, logically solving problems and dilemmas, soothing anxieties, self-confidence, willpower, altered states of consciousness, earth magick, geomancy, talismans, alchemy, physical strength, love magick, sex magick, knowledge of the afterlife, communication with the deceased, necromancy
Naamah or Na'amah (Hebrew: נעמה, meaning pleasant) is a figure in Jewish mysticism. She is a succubus and fallen angel and is generally regarded as an aspect or relation of Lilith. Naamah is said to have engaged, like Lilith, in intercourse with Adam. According to tradition, was created directly by God, as Eve or Lilith. Naamah and Lilith lived in the Red Sea coast where they were expelled by God. Naamah appearance is similar to Lilith, but Lilith being more sensual, young, and beautiful and as one that corrupted the fallen angels and their leader Semyaza. Mythology attributes the power of being guilty of causing epilepsy to children.
Naamah appears in the Zohar as one of the four angels of prostitution, the mates of the demon Samael, the mother of the demon Asmodai and one of the Queens of hell, she rules over the eastern quarter (Damascus). Her fellow succubi are Lilith, Eisheth Zenunim, and Agrat Bat Mahlat. She is generally identified with the daughter of Lamech. This Naamah is a counterpart to the one who appears in Genesis, and she is regarded, like her mortal counterpart, as a patron of divination and music.
In Gnostic Kabbalah, she is called Nahemah and is the Qliphoth corresponding to the sephirah Malkuth. The meaning of her name is argued among Hebrew scholars; it refers either to her virtuous nature ("pleasing" to God (YHVH)) or to a penchant for idolatry (singing "pleasant" songs to pagan idols). She is regarded as the inventor of divination.
The name Naamah must not to be confused with Lamech's daughter Naamah, sister of Tubal Cain, a descendant of Cain. (Genesis 4:22) She may or may not also be the wife of Noah or his son Ham.
Returning to the claim of Norea/Na’amah being the most remarkable feminine figure in all religions, one needs only to draw out her characteristics from her mythic narratives:
She is a savior figure.
She is a being of complete spirit dwelling in a dimension of matter, a perfect balance of virginal and material-seductive forces.
She has no male consort.
She is both an avatar and encompasses the supreme divine feminine.
She is the herald of light and the destroyer of spiritual wickedness.
When compared to other goddesses, mythological heroines, or even historical woman saints, Norea is arguably unparalleled.
Jewish and Christian polemics attempt to portray her as a wanton demigoddess defying established order; but these must be taken lightly, as they are the traditional calumny leveled against female luminaries (Lilith and Mary Magdalene are two prime examples). Norea only defies the unjust structure of the universe, as her tales indicate. Any passion she uses is for the awakening of humanity’s Divine Spark.
Na’amah is a spirit of women’s sexual autonomy and sacred erotic rites. Na’amah rules the ecstatic point where sex, spiritual ecstasy, and music intersect. Those who comprehend this point and seek to attain it are her constituency.

peter's first spells (hc);
i can't be normal about pete and magic so here's a little list of some of the first spells he learns: wards. this is of extreme use in pretty much all verses, for even when he expels paimon in verses where he's possessed like the about page details, there's still that link between them. it's the same as being able to manage mental health difficulties but never being able to get rid of them; you've seen that darkness now, know it, and it knows you too. peter can regain his autonomy and can live a relatively normal life as per his recovery arc, but paimon will always fuck with him in the ways he knows how and can. therefore wards help minimise this. in verses where the cult is actively after him, it can slow their efforts and grant peter some resistance to certain types of black magic. WARDS DON'T GRANT IMMUNITY; they simply lessen the effect of an opposing magic/entity (as specified by the wielder) and allow a user to take more damage. wards also don't stop enemies from using wards against you. you may 'stack' wards to a certain point, but eventually their effect is maximised. and now ward(s) doesn't sound like a word—
light spell. in a world largely without functioning power, torches are everything. that being said, torches require batteries, and batteries are neither easy to find nor particularly plentiful when a few years have gone by. so what about a torch that never goes out unless the one who created it stops powering it? tl;dr: peter can summon a small ball of light atop his staff that functions like a torch. over time, as he becomes stronger/more disciplined, the radius of this spell increases. with practise, he moves from the ball of light to being able to cast it, lighting up an entire room/cavern.
location spells. when a lot of survivability is hinged on working as a cohesive unit, it pays to be aware of where your people are. with magic, peter is able to tie himself to specific people and be guided to them. this isn't a physical thing, moreso a spiritual 'feeling energies' kind of deal. while he can tie himself to objects too, there are more caveats to doing so ( quite like a cadaver dog needs a scent, peter needs a general understanding of the object; he also needs to have touched it, or something/someone closely connected to it, to tie himself to it ). at first, he can only connect with one person/thing, though this limit increases as he continues with his training.
light telekinesis. this is a very broad spell and has a wide abundance of techniques to master. it's easy to learn and use at its lowest level, ever so difficult to master and hone without ramifications and risk. it's an incredibly high skill ceiling spell, and peter undoubtedly has trouble with it. at its lowest level, peter is able to disturb and move objects without physically touching them, draw objects to him without physically touching him and launch objects away from him with relative force without physically touching them. the radius for this is quite small, but extends dramatically with practise. how much power the spell drains depends on the object he's trying to influence and for how long.
note: these are just peter's beginning spells, things he deems to be of the highest importance that are also within his skill level as a beginner. keep in mind that he is both human and has no previous experience with witchcraft/the occult/magic. over time, he comes to learn a multitude of different spells, such as healing, elemental magic, soul transfusions and bonding, demon entrapment, necromancy and many more.

I've been thinking again ( never a good thing ), and it's time to update some of Evan's powers. They're mostly the same, I am adding one more new one, but the rest is just natural parts of the powers that I've already given her that I felt just made sense for her to grow into.
☾☼ Telekinesis: The ability to move things without touching them. The way hers works is a force that she can either use to grab/pick up/move something, but she can also use it as a shield around herself or another person- currently, she can cause powerful tremors in the Earth with the force she possesses
☾☼ Death Visions: Evan weaves her soul into the thread that ties her to another person, an action she isn’t aware of. This deep connection she forms with those she loves, or even hates, causes her to see how and when it’s cut. With work, she could learn how to make herself visible to them in their passing moments.
☾☼ Danger Sensitivity: For the same reason that she gets her visions, Evan is hyper-aware of when someone she’s formed a connection with is in danger. If she worked with this ability, she’d be able to pinpoint where her loved one is while the danger is present. Once they’re no longer in danger, though, she loses the ability to track them.
☾☼ Addictive Contentment: When in the right headspace, Evan can unknowingly influence others to be calm and content in her presence, sometimes so strong that it can become addictive. This is something that doesn’t happen often, as she’s normally too high strung to exude such a peaceful energy.
☾☼ Empathic Conversion: She possesses a social magnetism, drawing people to her without her being aware. This doesn’t take away the person’s free will, but they’ll be more compelled to assist her if she needs help than they might have been otherwise, creating a bond of loyalty to her. Could grow into her being able to direct others on what to do against their will.
☾☼ Immortality: She has the ability to be able to live forever, but before she stops aging, she's vulnerable. Her body heals quicker than human bodies do, though not astronomically so ( yet ) and she has an extremely efficient immune system. Still, she can be killed fairly easily as she is, now.
☾☼Resurrection: She'll be able to bring people back from the dead, though when she does, she'll be extremely vulnerable; it takes a long time to do, and an even longer time to recover from it in an unconscious state.
☾☼Demon Exorcism: She'll be able to expel demons from the body they're inhabiting and can send them back to hell thanks to her angelic grace
☾☼Power Detection: She'll be able to tell how strong someone's magic is and where it stems from, be it heaven or hell.
☾☼Teleportation: I feel like this one is self explanatory.
☾☼ Smiting: Yes she'll be able to do it technically, but it'll take a lot of practice that she'll be unwilling to do in most verses.
☾☼Holy Fire: White ( the color associated with Michael ) flames that can be summoned at will, and can only be put out by another nephil of equal power, or an archangel

[ sick ] sender bringing a sick receiver whatever they need ( food / medicine / etc. ) (phel :D)
I TOUCH YOU SOFTLY NOW. In days long gone, a frail persona, ensconced in the delicate silk of affliction, found herself submerged in the dolorous soothing song of infirmity. The air surrounding her trembled with the grief her fatigued physique hummed, each exhale of breath a note sung in mute misery. Her abdomen heaved; each inhale a battle, each exhale a surrender. As the world manipulated its tapestry around her, incessantly crocheting filaments of life with pigments stolen from the sun, here she lay cocooned in shadows, the momentary touches of light that penetrated into her chamber leaving only sporadic caresses upon her fevered forehead. The fragrance of heavy air clung to her like poignant memories long past, weaving into her hair as the life woven into every fiber of existence seemed to halt outside her window.
─── And in this bittersweet accompaniment, a figure appeared like an angel cast out from celestial heavens; Aphelios who nestled himself close to her side. A savior bathed in crepuscule hues, his touch gentle and his resolve steadfast. In tender hands that spoke solace, he cradled vials brimming with liquid healing — a symphony of potions and remedies to kiss the despair from her margins; medicine that pledged to draw whispered residual strains of suffering from her respiratory tract and expel them into nothingness.
His hues were worlds unto themselves as they beheld her fragile physique, twirling pools that constructed galaxies within their depths and captured every ounce of pain that glowed on her skin. He gazed at her – truly gazed at her – and found symphonies waiting within those eyes adrift upon seas of unbidden agony; for he saw cosmic compositions hidden inside each tear that chords along her cheeks before plummeting into the abyss like stars long cooled.
He became her nurse and her minstrel, bringing forth reprieve and harmony to propel away the desolate silence thriving in the space between them. When the abyss beckoned her into the depths of dreams embedded in feverish DELIRIUM, Aphelios coaxed slumber away with his soothing touch and a whisper of fingertips to trace patterns of tranquility on her skin.
When her caramel eyes fluttered open once again, gasping against the veil of perpetual gray, he would bid farewell to all demons intent on siphoning away her strength, brushing lither fibers of silken hair back and capturing those tears under fallen fringes. “You came, I wasn’t expecting your visit.” A frail gentle timbre uttered. @empyreous

How Magic Works In Tathylia Chronicles
(And also possibly my other games, idk)
Alright, so I've been thinking about Tathylia Chronicles' magic system and lore, and I've finally decided to work on it and post it somewhere fully.
🕯Origins and Harnessing 🕯
Magic was created long ago when spirits guided the world as much as the gods did. Once they left, it was significantly harder to harness and use magic.
Nowadays, in order to use magic, you need to have some sort of magic potential inside you. About 35% of the population of the world can use magic to some degree.
Keyword being can. There are many who don't have the resources to learn magic or don't want to learn magic or don't even know they can use magic.
Either way, in order to actually use magic, you need some sort of magic conduit or focus.
This type of conduit is usually a tome or a staff, our next topic
🔮🪄📚Tomes,Staves, and Enchanted Items📚🪄🔮
In order to use magic, most spellcasters have to channel their magic into magic tomes and staves, along with any other enchanted weapon or item.
Tomes and spellbooks are created by magic who fill pages of a book with instructions, mystical runes, and information about the spell, bound by magic (and regular book bindings.) The user must study a magic tome in order to weave its magical contents around them.
Staves are made with a rod, usually made with metal or wood. Then, a magic crystal is placed on it, along with decorations. Another way is to just infuse the rod with magic. Using a magic staff is as simple as focusing magical energy into the staff and letting it expell that energy.
Enchanted items or weapons all have magic inside of them, either because they are enchanted, blessed, cursed, or otherwise infused with magic. It's also as simple as energy in magic out.
One thing you need to know is that the magic in these tomes is somewhat finite. Once a tome runs out of magic, you can still cast magic out of it, but it will not be nearly as potent, usually being useless for combat. Same goes for staves and enchanted items. After this, they usually get used for training and teaching, allowing budding mages to safely practice spells.
🍃🏔🌊Druidic Magic: The Magic of Wild Spirits🌊🏔🍃
Druidic Magic, also called Spirit or Nature Magic, is magic gained by studying and harnessing the power of the spirits that still live in the world. Practitioners are guided by the wind, water, and earth of the world, and use their guidance to expel magic.
Druidic Magic bests Holy Magic, but is withers by Arcane Magic
🔥⚡️❄️Arcane Magic: The Magic of Elemental Power❄️⚡️🔥
Arcane Magic, also known as Raw or Anima Magic, is magic derives from the study of nature. Only, instead, it draws magic from the raw energy of the world around them, rather than just being guided by the world. Wind becomes thunder, earth becomes fire, and water becomes ice. It's more commonly studied and practiced than druidic magic, but it loses some of its inate power.
Arcane Magic trumps Druidic Magic, but withers to Elder Magic
💀🌌🌑Elder Magic: The Magic of Dark Ages🌑🌌💀
Elder Magic, also known as Cursed or Dark Magic, is magic that gains power through the soul of the user and their foe. In times of old, this magic was discovered and molded from the darkness of the earth and night sky. It was/is immensely powerful, but its dark nature led to many problems. Its spells usually have negative effects on the user, like hexes. Using it too much may prove dangerous...
Elder Magic trumps Arcane Magic, but withers to Holy Magic.
☀️🌟✨️Holy Magic: The Magic of Divine Light✨️🌟☀️
Holy Magic, also known as Divne or Light Magic, is magic that is gained from the heavens and the sun. It requires the user to be deeply devoted to a cause, usually a religion. While it is not the strongest type of magic, its purifying and blessed light purges demonic essences from people, beasts, and places.
Holy Magic trumps Elder Magic, but withers to Druidic Magic
