Necropoli de Chauchilla, Peru
Necrópolis de Chauchilla, Perú
Necropoli di Chauchilla, Perú
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(English / Español / Italiano)
It is a pre-Inca necropolis. Some sources link it to the ancient Huari culture and others to the Nazca culture, which flourished in the area between the 2nd century BC and the 9th century AD.
The mummies are in a good state of preservation despite their age, and many of them still show traces of hair and even some skin. Preservation has been made possible in part by the arid climate of the Nazca desert in which the cemetery is located. It is the only Peruvian archaeological site where the mummies can be seen in their original tombs.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

📰 After a second public autopsy, it was concluded that the bodies of the so-called Nazca mummies are entirely real and from unknown biological origin, and have not been fabricated or tampered with. It’s concluded that the bodies are authentic, nonhuman, and unknown to science. The autopsy report has been signed by 11 scientists and doctors employed by the University of Ica, Peru

The Nazca mummies recently received a huge amount of publicity when Jaime Maussan presented his version of the story before the Mexican Congress. The weaknesses in this story immediately became an international news sensation. The New York Times picked it up and revealed that a paper has been published discussing the truth about the mummies that Maussan displayed: they are a strange mix of various animal parts, very cleverly constructed–but at least a thousand years ago! Maussan claimed that they were “alien bodies.” US Navy pilot Ryan Graves, who has testified before congress about his own UAP sightings, expressed himself as being “deeply disappointed” by Maussan’s “stunt.”
There is a much bigger story here, and in this special edition of Dreamland, Whitley goes into it with William Galison who, with Theirry Jamin, has been working on the case since 2018. (Whitley has been involved since 2019.) The case has been kept relatively quiet in the interest of completing scientific work on the artifacts.
In this interview, William lays out the history of the Peru project and explains the truth about this world-class mystery. The mummies that Jaime showed are NOT aliens bodies. They are something created a thousand years ago for unknown reasons. But there are other, larger ones that Maussan could not obtain from Peru, which have revealed strange DNA results and anatomy that, under CT scans, does appear to be truly anomalous.
Go deep into what is quite possibly the greatest mystery in modern–or ancient–history with Whitley and William, who are both up on the very latest information from the REAL story.
Visit Theirry Jamin’s alien project website here. Read the scientific paper referred to in the show and the New York Times article here.

A Gallery of 20 Mummies from around the World
Mummification is the natural or artificial preservation of the soft tissue of a dead body. Natural mummification can happen in extremely cold, dry, or anaerobic conditions. Perhaps the most famous example of a natural mummy preserved in ice is Ötzi, the Iceman. Dry, desert conditions are responsible for the Tarim mummies, for example, and lack of oxygen prevented bog bodies from decaying.
Intentional mummification is mostly associated with ancient Egyptian burial rites, but it was also common practice in the Andean cultures of South America, such as the Nazca civilization. Depending on the culture and the technique, the process can involve the removal of internal organs, dismemberment, heat treatment, the use of chemicals, and wrapping the body. The intentional preservation of some individuals extends into the modern age, with Lenin's embalmed body put on permanent display in Moscow.
In this gallery, we feature 20 images of preserved bodies from all around the world.

got pissed off when i saw some stupid post from r/alienbodies (i dont follow it, it was recommended to me along with the post in question) and it infuriates me to no end that people will justify their racism and bigotry with "the aliens built that, not poc"
the post was about the new nazca lines discovery and someone co-opting the nazca civilzations amazing artistic talent with the idea that aliens were actually the ones who made them because they found lines depicting 'humanoid creatures' that were obviously stylized renditions of humans along with nonhuman mummies near the lines - the mummies in question being made up of human and reptile remains ! they then continued to say that this discovery will rewrite the history of peru. that the ancestors of modern day peruvians are not infact the original inhabitants of peru
these bigoted assholes will do anything to not admit that people of color can make wonders of the world while also praising roman or greek architectural ingenuity and not attributing those feats to aliens like they would to, for example, the nazca civilzation

Close Encounters🛸
Last month, Mexican Congress was presented with two alleged mummified “alien” remains. These alleged “aliens” were presented by infamous journalist and self proclaimed ufologist Jaime Maussan. Maussan claims that these mummies were found in the archeological site of Nazca Peru. Read here or watch this.
I refuse to believe Alfred didn’t bother Lupe and then show her Tony, just for Lupe to think aliens would look very different.

(Hi, can I get an explanation on what Metal Slug is? I’ve never heard of this series before and you seem really interesting in it :3)
It's a bit complicated, but I'll do my best to summarise it...
Metal Slug is a multimedia video game franchise originally created by Nazca Corporation before they merged with SNK in 1996. It initially started as a run and gun series, but has expanded into other genres like tower defence. The latest game is Metal Slug Tactics and it's the first turn-based tactics game for the entire franchise. The game franchise is named after its titular tankette, the SV-001 "Metal Slug".
The games focus on the Regular Army and their two main special forces: the Peregrine Falcons Squad, an elite strike force, and the S.P.A.R.R.O.W.S., an intelligence division. The main protagonists of Metal Slug are Marco Rossi, Tarma Roving, Eri Kasamoto, and Fio Germi. Once Metal Slug 6 rolls in, the Ikari Warriors from King of Fighters are introduced into the franchise and they serve as the Regular Army's elite mercenaries. The Regular Army and their elite special operatives are often in war against the Rebel Army, led by the power-hungry General Morden, who intend on taking over the world to unite everyone under one government.
Following the initial game, Metal Slug: Super Vehicle-001, the franchise expanded its enemy roster to include zombies, mummies, mutants, and aliens. The primary antagonists in the Metal Slug series are the Rebel Army and the Martians. However, additional enemy groups are introduced as the mainline series progresses. Notably, two organisations and an alien species make singular appearances throughout the series:
Amadeus Syndicate (Metal Slug 4)
Ptolemaic Army (Metal Slug 5)
The Invaders (Metal Slug 6)
Although the mainline Metal Slug series and most of its canonical spin-offs are largely dialogue-free, the franchise has a rich narrative. I recommend checking out the timeline on the Metal Slug fandom wiki, which summarizes the storyline.
I hope this explanation clarifies everything. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
You can find a lil' thought on Metal Slug 3D in the comment section if you're interested!

The bodies of two alleged "alien" beings were exhibited before politicians in a special session of the Mexican Congress on Sept 13, 2023.
Journalist and UFO researcher Jaime Maussan presented the bodies. He stated that they were discovered in a diatom mine in Cusco, Peru. The diatomaceous earth prevented decomposition by quickly drying out the bodies. This stopped bacteria and fungi from forming —creating a natural mummification. Radiocarbon testing has shown their age to be about 1,000 years old.

Maussen was accompanied at the session by former U.S. Navy pilot Ryan Graves and Avi Loeb, professor of astrophysics at Harvard University. Graves and Loeb were there to discuss their own experiences and research re: UFOs and extraterrestrials; they were not there to verify the authenticity of the bodies.
Tumblr media
Maussen gave testimony under oath but his claims have not been scientifically proven and he has been associated with previous discoveries that were later shown to be misidentified (in 2015, the Nazca Mummy turned out to be the body of an ancient, deformed human child).

The Mexican Congress also discussed other possible evidence of extraterrestrials and released this footage, along with other images of UFOs (UAPs). [source: EuroNews]
