Back from Alaska, guess what I brought back!

A long time ago (like, when I was a teenager) my grand mother gave me a very old, ragged, ugly , fur coat.

More exactly: she had a luxe fashion shop when she was young, kept a few of the items when it closed (she was a TERRIBLE manager and lost A LOT in the process) including furs. Later, she gave to my mom, who struggled to live and pay rent as a young adult, the ulgiest and crappiest fur coat she had to « help her stay warm ». Instead of money. Instead of selling one of her insanely pricey fur (like, she had some crazy shit)(now that she’s very old and doesn’t care anymore, I took some of it and OH BOY she could have paid a few months of rent with it)

My mom hated that fur coat.

She gave it back to my grand mother at some point.

My grand mother gave it to me. Even new it was ugly (kakhi green leather with the fox fur inside), and it was in bad condition.

Years later, I’m an adult, my grand mother isn’t able to remember anymore, time to transform that ugly coat into something my mom could have used instead, and that I will use: a blanket, doubling as a tiny cloak.

And I used a fabric gifted by my other grandma in the process. MAMIES BLANKET

The fur is fox legs (…yes that’s weird but it was a way to use fur scraps)(so yeah, to begin with, it was the less expensive coat is my grandma collection) and the fabric is some sort of wool sheet. It’s super soft and super warm and will be a prized possession away from its bad history for now on.

I sew it fully by hand, because I was afraid of ruining the old fur. It took FOREVER.

My own personal take on why Macaque fur isn’t usually white despite being, well, a macaque. And since MK also owns his shadow powers weeeeelll… Also MK is much more towards the blonde than the white since he still took from Wukong fur color.

I get that calling white lotus lbh a sticky little 'sheep' is a canon translation and stuck in the fandom now anyway, but I do feel the intended spirit of the original word wasn't the sheeple/dumb herd animal that's more common in the western world, but instead something actually conveying sweetness, innocence, purity and youth - lamb.

Famous for being utterly adorable and following around their mothers, gambolling in sunny meadows, curly white wool shining.

And NOW we can talk about black sheep/wolf in sheep's clothing metaphors.

Here’s new, fluffed up Unai

A gentle nature deity but with a dark purpose. Shepards, cattlemen and farmers bring him their ‘cursed’ livestock to serve as purgatorial vessels in his flock. He’s a god of the wilds, pasture, fetal monstrosities and wanderers. He might be a bit of a psychopomp too idk yet. I feel like he’d be most similar to Pan.

I’m essentially making another headworld for him now since he’s not in Hallowed Carrion, so more to come 🌿
