I'm pretty much new in this platform, and i want to share my newest artwork involving my idea for personified Romania. I'm planning to create personified nations (literally just countryhumans but it has a fancier term) not having the mainstream stereotypes.
Thus, i suppose i don't write Romania as a bloodthirsty vampire, since the stereotype is a bit boring imo 💀

Massachusetts and Connecticut! Probably moving away from gradient shading mostly, as I feel cell shading looks better. Will be drawing more OCs from around the world, very excited to show them all to you!

I just had a super interesting train of thought on the ethics of national personification, so I'm gonna make a poll about it, here you go!

Something I find really sweet but also really wild about Hetalia is just how genuinely enthusiastic and happy leaders of micronations are when they see their personifications in the anime

The thought of “young Nations desperately wanting answers about their existence, find a purpose and a place/community to belong to" makes me go insane every time I think about it

(nation personification talking) I enjoy when nations have an investment in nationalism… naturally there’s an alignment with the powerful majority and ruling class due to the inherent nature of nation as a political and constructed entity, and nationalism also feeds into the survival and ‘strength’ of a nation (personification) as well. But the feeling of a scary nation who’s deeply expecting the loyalty of their own (esp during tense eras) is very delicious

I'm sincere when I say I don't know how y'all have the energy to scrutinize Mori treating his successors like they're competent when the Port Mafia's skill users have been culled thrice over within seven years by men who can't act right (Rimbaud, Verlaine, Shibusawa, Gides, Fyodor), and the longevity of the tripartite framework relies on Mori not patronizing who's left.
Especially considering, like, there are foreign military police in modern Japan, British Somaliland appears to still exist, and Ango has seemingly kept Taneda in a medically induced coma for an irreversible amount of time so that he can unilaterally leverage Taneda's fictional authority within a very-historically-real cabinet in the Japanese government that hasn't existed irl since the Meiji constitution.
Like, I'm not asking anyone to engage with media in any other way than the way they enjoy most. It's just. Has anyone else noticed bsd!Russia appears to have annexed bsd!Abkhazia and bsd!South Ossetia.
All of this to say: you don't really have to beat the same dead horses if you don't want to. If you do, then by all means, lay into Equus with your whole chest. But, also. There's a lot in bsd the fandom scarcely, if at all, touches, and the incongruity between the work's layers and worldbuilding and even niche fandom engagement with the material is stark.

I bet HWS France is totally a sleepwalker. Usually it'll be something small like sitting up in bed or maybe standing up before going back to bed. But sometimes things get really crazy. He'll stagger around his apartment, cook strangely delicious meals, paint, dance, or maybe get himself stuck somewhere.
Mind you, he canonically sleeps in the nude, so he's doing all this with everything on display. God forbid he unlocks the door to his home and roams free.
It probably scares the shit out of whoever's sleeping with him. They're like "wow, what a sexy, charming man!" and they wake up to find him caressing the wall while mumbling about cheese.
Best part is, he's totally oblivious to it. Nobody's bothered to tell him.

lullindo/basessilis make this tweet to confirm why they stop making anything related to nation being thing: https://twitter.com/basessilis/status/1763031044067090498
Ahhh yeah that makes sense, this is something I've also realized with time spent in the nation personification fandom- there's a lot you can't do/have to be careful in regards to, esp because these are communities actual people belong to, and what you can and can't do only gets more limited the more popular ur nation personifications become bahaha

Future humanized country series (by me) The Nation Chronicles
Hello, hello!
Since 2017/ 2018, I’ve been passionate about developing original characters (OCs) based on nations. It all started with South America and Mexico. Back then, the concept was simple: I created comics and humorous interactions between countries, often focusing on ships like MexPer, ArgPe, ChiBol, and ChiRu/PeChi. Occasionally, I touched on historical stories, but my focus was limited to just one major historical event, the Pacific War (Peru and Bolivia vs. Chile). Outside of that, things were pretty much jokes and silly comics that are now lost media because I broke all of them once.
In 2020, I began working on a fun little project called Ameritalia with one of my best online friends, Tuna. The project focused on South and Central American countries and the Antilles (both Lesser and Greater). Together, we crafted stories, role-played, drew art, and even made comics. By 2021, we decided to take a new direction, moving away from Hetalia and creating a 100% original world of OCs. This was refreshing, since we had previously been restricted by the boundaries of the Hetalia community.
By 2022, I began developing OCs for countries outside my usual focus because I had so many ideas and wanted to create my own canon. While still collaborating with Tuna, I also started expanding my own universe, of silly country OCs.
Since then, I’ve been developing a personal canon with the impossible goal of humanizing the entire world or as much of it as possible. Earlier this year, I even started creating a world map for my project. I managed to complete South, Central, and North America; Southwestern and Northern Europe; Central, Eastern, Southern, and Western Asia; North, Eastern, and Western Africa; and Australasia and Polynesia. However, I sadly decided to cancel the project due to political concerns.
As some of you may know, I have a strict rule against discussing politics on my pages. While I understand that humanizing countries can be unavoidably political, I’ve always wanted to keep my work humorous and approachable. The stress of navigating potential controversies began to take a negative impact on me, leading to high anxiety and even physical symptoms like eye tics. So, to protect my well-being and avoid misunderstandings, I chose to step away from the map project. My long-term goal has always been to create a series of characters that people can enjoy—free from controversy and focused on humour. I know it’s a challenge, especially since there are already many popular series about humanized countries, such as Hetalia, CountryHumans, SATW, Nation Beings, Geopolitical Boys, and others. But I hope my new project, The Nation Chronicles (TNC), will find its own audience, I’ll be posting about TNC when I can, like concept and all, thank you guys!

Hi! Do you happen to still have your headcanons about death? It was one of my favorite posts of yours. Thank you!
I don't have the post but this is a headcanon I think about a lot. I have two versions. The hard reset reboot and the soft reboot. The hard reboot is where the fantasy parts of my universe kick in and the soft reboot is something very much based in reality and biology.
Hard reboot:
This is only possible with the complete destruction of a body. Think getting ground to paste by the force of a glacier or going so far down in a ship wreck the pressure atomizes the body or getting turned into pink mist by artillery. Either the body is completely destroyed or otherwise the damage is unsurvivable. A beheading or certain kinds of spinal injuries for example are impossible to survive under any circumstances. This results in a whole molecular reset. Whatever was now ceases to exist entirely. No remains in the ground, no spare parts. Nothing left but the blood spatters and the echoing scream They are completely remade in a very mysterious process no one quite understands. And the results can be extremely dramatic when they reappear. They may be lacking scars they've had forever or they may reappear later on. Limbs may or may not regrow. Arthur may have lost the Danelaw scar for awhile and it may have popped up again later. Matt might lose some of the scars from the WW1 shrapnel eventually. While I do think that nation's have some built in abilities to cope just being what they are and a lot of trauma fades over time, trauma reactions can be variable and uneven. So while they may reboot and reset, it's still very circumstantial. They might feel better or different afterwards but it's still incredibly disconcerting.
Soft reboot:
The other type I call the 'soft reboot' or the biologically possible one, auto-resuscitation also sometimes called Lazarus syndrome. About half of doctors report seeing a case with their own eyes but data is still quite hard to come by. For most people that it happens too it shows up in their medical records vaguely and the difference between reversed clinical death and auto-resuscitation is not entirely clear to physicians, nurses or patients. But one possible theory is that it is the heart being restarted by pressure of some sort exerted onto the cavities in the chest. This doesn't have a reset. I am not dying today. It's fucking painful. I am not dying today. Coming back is terrifying. One moment the world is dark and cool and the terror of he medical environment is fading and any thoughts echo limply. Life and person hood trickles away but scrambling for a grip, something rolling into a void desperate for traction. No life flashing before the eyes. But Death is there. A sun bleached skeleton, the dried and decaying flowers of a funeral crowning an eyeless skull. Death offer's a hand and the falling is over. I am not dying today.
And then it does go black for a long time but then... life. The bones are a different temperature from the flesh. Every muscle has been strained every fucking direction. Half the ribs are broken because doctor's might have called it. The eyeballs aren't quite in the head right. A death has been declared, paperwork half filled out but the sun is rising, death kisses a bruised, warming cheek and asks, wryly.
"𝑨𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏?"
There's no magic reboot. The guts are bit rotted from sitting in a corpse for a night. There's a little brain damage but not as nearly as much as there should be. The joints are swollen, every vein in the face and neck and legs are pulling through muscle and flesh like cords through clay, held only inside by skin. Everything that was wrong is still wrong, and a little worse. But the sun is up. The sun is up and the heart still beats and the rest will heal. It has no choice but to heal. Because there is a heartbeat and breathe and the rest can wait.
