Watching Horror Movies Headcanons

masterlist

Pairing: marvel characters x gn!reader

Characters: Frank Castle, Loki, Carol Danvers, Kamala Khan, Bucky Barnes, Peter Parker, Yelena Belova, Matt Murdock, Natasha Romanoff, Wanda Maximoff

Warnings: characters getting scared, loki and wanda being menaces, mentions of gore

𝑭𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝑪𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒍𝒆

Isn’t really a fan of horror movies

Thinks a lot of them are dumb and don’t give off the scary aspect that they’re supposed to

Doesn’t get scared easily, but sometimes jumps at the cheap jumpscares and can’t help but laugh in the aftermath of it when he realizes how cheap the scare was

Lets you know when he thinks something is dumb or questions why it happens

Will go on about how impractical certain things that happen are

Ends up turning into a whole spiel on how none of the movie makes any sense and how it’s supposed to be a so called horror movie

Laughs way more than you probably should when watching a horror movie

Is astonished when you tell him that one of these movies is actually based on a true story

Convinced that they must have changed details from the original story in order to make the movie “more interesting”

Doesn’t go out of his way in order to watch another movie

Lets out a playful groan if you ask him to watch another one with you

Says he needs to be energized for it and has to make a pot of coffee before watching it to get him through it

𝑳𝒐𝒌𝒊

Is curious to what the movie entails but the curiosity quickly turns unamused when he starts to watch a section of the movie

Doesn’t flinch or show any emotion when scares come onto the screen

Thinks the scares aren’t scary and the premise of the movie is dumb

Questions why you would ask him to watch such a ghastly movie

Is the type of person to want everyone in the movie to die, including the killer

Gives you a pointed look when the cheapest and worst jumpscare happens and after the killers origin story is seen and it is not great

Attempts to scare you the same way the movie had try to do by making the same props appear in random places

If you get scared he will tease you relentlessly about jumping at a scare he didn’t think was possible to get scared at

He continues on the scares for a couple days until one time you practically punch him in the face (from the scare of course no other reason) and he decides to stop with everything

You will actually never invite him to watch any kind of horror movie with you again

𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒐𝒍 𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔

Likes horror movies, but not the ones that have cliche stories and half assed writing

Watches a different variety of horror movies in order to see the differences each of them have from each other

If one is a lot like a different movie she won’t really like it, she likes how movies differentiate from each other so there’s new things to experience

Since she likes the uniqueness in movies, she doesn’t really like the movies that are a part of a series, especially if the series goes on for too long and the concepts in the movies are basically the same

Gets excited when a new horror movie is announced and she can’t wait to watch it and experience it

Is more of a horror movie critic than anything else and will say what she felt about the movie and how they could have made it even better

She doesn’t really jump or get scared at the scares in the movie and more so enjoys the plot of the movie instead

Wants to have you watch different movies that she really enjoys in order to share what she really likes in them to get you to like them too

𝑲𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒂 𝑲𝒉𝒂𝒏

Is so scared that she’ll think of various other things that she “needs” to do in order to stall watching the movie

Gets all sorts of snacks and blankets ready before she eventually runs out of stalling tactics and reluctantly goes to sit down to start watching the movie

Ends up with three blankets covering her and half her face under them, only leaving her eyes peeked out from over them

Jumps over every slight movement and noise that she hears, either from the movie or from other things in the room

When the movie gets to a point where it looks like there’s about to be a jumpscare she hides under the blankets and you have to tell her when it’s okay for her to look again

Puts on a bunch of other (not horror) movies and shows on to watch insisting that you guys pull an all nighter, acting like she’s only doing it because it’ll be fun not because she won’t be able to sleep

Has to keep a light on in her room in order to be able to sleep

If you mention watching another horror movie she’ll probably just smile at you with wide eyes and come up with something else to do instead without directly rejecting the idea

𝑩𝒖𝒄𝒌𝒚 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒔

Isn’t the largest fan of the horror genre, but will try it out

Gets a little more triggered if the movie is particularly gory

Doesn’t like if the killer shows like they’re extremely sociopathic with no emotions going around murdering everyone

Would prefer to watch something less gory and a little more cheerful, but will still attempt to watch anything that you’re very excited to watch

Tries to get into the plot of the movie while trying his hardest to block out any blood or triggering scenes for him

Wouldn’t choose to watch a horror movie over a different genre he enjoys more, but he can see why people like to watch them, they’re just not for him

Finds paranormal movies the most interesting since there’s not a human “killer” that’s part of the movie

Learns more about the kind of movies surprising himself by actually finding them interesting, not expecting him to like anything in the kind of genre that much

Doesn’t get that scared of the movies, only jumping when he gets caught off guard at something

𝑷𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒓

Has his indifferences with horror movies

On one hand he really likes how certain horror movies are put together

But on the other hand he gets scared easily and has to prepare himself for every horror movie that he watches

Kind of like kamala he has to have many blankets on him while he watches the movie, keeping him comfort for when any of the jumpscares pop up

Distracts himself with a various amount of snacks so he doesn’t have to think much about what is going on on the screen

Whenever a person in the movie makes a dumb decision or is on the verge of doing so he’ll bring the blankets up further and repeat phrases on the line of “don’t go in there, don’t go in there” and “oh my god don’t turn around”

Will reference back to the movie if something happens and he’s reminded of it, purposefully skipping over the parts where he got incredibly scared in

Brushes it off like it’s nothing, but it will actually take a longer time for him to be able to fall asleep at night, every slight noise he’d be jumping up on full alert

He’ll have to tell himself that nothing out of the ordinary is happening and there isn’t a psychopathic murderer after him

𝒀𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒂 𝑩𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒂

Is extremely down to watch a horror movie, thinking it’ll be fun to try

Ends up jumping so high and letting out a swear at the first jumpscare in the movie

Has a look of shock on her face when she’s completely caught off guard at something that happens

You have to make sure she’s not holding anything heavy in her hand so she doesn’t end up throwing it at the tv when she gets scared

You don’t think you’ve ever heard her swear as much in one setting as she does when she watches the movie

Gets aggravated when she keeps falling for the same type of jumpscare and starts to scream at the screen at how they just keep doing the same thing and how dumb it is

Doesn’t really pay attention to the plot of the movie and ends up in a competition with herself on how much she can withstand the jumpscares

She stares at the screen practically unblinking so ready for any jumpscare that’s bound to show up

Jumps up out of her seat in excitement when she doesn’t even flinch at a scare that pops up, acting like she’s beaten a level of a game she’s been stuck on for weeks

𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒕 𝑴𝒖𝒓𝒅𝒐𝒄𝒌

You know that he can’t see what’s on the tv, so you don’t really invite him to watch a horror movie, he just kind of joins you himself

You’ll be cuddled up on the couch watching a scary movie and matt will hear your heartbeat pick up and go to check on you

When you tell him you’re just watching a scary movie he’ll ask to join you and take a seat next to you

He can’t see the jumpscares coming and finds it amusing when you jump next to him

However if there’s a particularly loud part that comes out of nowhere he will get slightly startled by it

You tell him what’s happening when there’s no dialogue and you both end up making fun of what different characters are doing

“Wait why is she going into the shed? Shouldn’t she be trying to find a way out of there?”

He ends up having a good time even though he can’t see what’s happening on the screen and it becomes a tradition for you two to watch different horror movies just to see how the survivors attempt to stay alive in the dumbest ways

𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐟𝐟

Actually really likes horror movies, especially very suspenseful scenes and the adrenaline rush she gets when she watches them

Watches them for fun on her down time

Is excited when Halloween draws closer and a lot of people start to watch more horror movies

Will drag you to a movie theater to watch a horror movie

She likes seeing the scares on such a big screen, and how tense the room gets as everyone awaits for a jumpscare that they know is coming

Is a fan of some the classics and the effect they have on her

Doesn’t like to rewatch a horror movie that she’s seen before

Knowing when the scares are going to happen takes the suspense out of it for her so she’ll only rewatch a movie that she hasn’t seen in a while and she doesn’t exactly remember all the things that happen

𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐟𝐟

Would use the horror movie as an excuse to get close to you

The scares of the movie don’t really phase her, but if she does get scared she’ll laugh and play it off like it’s not a big deal

Finds it amusing when you jump or get scared at different parts

Will get a ton of blankets and pillows for you two to get the most comfortable with

Makes multiple attempts to try and scare you when the movie gets to a slow and quiet point

She’ll grip your shoulder suddenly and let out a scream in an attempt to try and get you to jump

If she succeeds she’ll end up laughing so hard, apologizing between the laughs but you know she doesn’t mean it

When she successfully does it three times during the movie you threaten to not watch any more movies with her in the future which makes her quickly apologize and say that she’ll stop and behave for the rest of the night

All in all she has a fun time watching scary movies, even if it isn’t fully the movie that has her in an excitable mood, and she enjoys getting to be able to spend time with you no matter what you’re doing

YESSS NAT DRAG HIM

It's painful reading Natasha go through this knowing that there is someone out there that does treat her the way she deserves to be treated as an equal, but he's just temporarily dead during the 70s comics. However, timeline-wise, this is post-Bucky and Natasha's Red Room romance which makes the way Matt is treating her even more painful because she did find someone who does treat her as his partner, who does thank and accept her, but they were torn apart. Her happiest romance was in the Red Room, a HORRIBLE place, where it had to be kept a secret but now she's out of it and free to do whatever she wants, but she's in a toxic relationship with Matt. In hindsight, this could be read as Natasha missing Bucky even though their relationship wasn't created until the 2000s.

The silence in the abandoned building was punctuated, only by the rhythmic hum of the bomb. You and Matt sat side-by-side, both tense but determined. Your combined weight kept the pressure plate off, the only thing preventing a city-wide catastrophe.

But that didn’t stop Nat from laughing and Matt being kind enough, not to directly laugh at you.

You had burrowed Nat’s phone to send, a whole-hearted voice message to Steve. After you were done, you looked at them, little very proud of your speech. What you didn’t expect was them to laugh.

“Ha ha! Very funny.” you scoff, with a serious look.

“You are really adorable.” Matt says, trying his best not to laugh, but failing miserably. “She is adorable, I mean that voice message though, chef’s kiss.” Nat laughed. “You do realize right; Rogers might not check the message sent through my phone?”

You glare at her, she raises her brow daring you to glare, which you immediately replace with a scowl, though she was right. “If things go in the wrong direction…” you motion with your hands to the current situation, “you can tell him…to check…” you pout.

“What happened to, I trust everyone and we’ll be safe Matt?” Matt reminds you, with that damn adorable smile. “I still trust everyone, but” “She is being dramatic” Nat cuts you, rolling her eyes. “Why don’t you kids, get to know each other, while I look around more.”

“Sounds good to me, not like we can do much here…” Matt says. “Behave you two” she winks at you and heads out.

“So,” you began, your voice a low murmur, “Lawyer by day, vigilante by night, huh?”

Matt chuckled; the sound surprisingly warm. “Just doing my part. You seem to handle yourself pretty well too.” “Just another day at the office,” you replied, the words laced with a hint of a smile. “Though I wouldn't mind a few more gadgets and a flying suit right now.”

You both lapsed into a comfortable silence again. You stole a glance at Matt. He seemed calm, almost serene, despite the ticking bomb beneath him. His face, etched with the faint scars of past battles, was surprisingly handsome. There was a depth in his dark eyes though hidden through his glasses.

You spoke again, breaking the silence, “care to share, what’s the issue, between you and Tony?”

Just then Nat comes back, “My senses told me, we are about to gossip.” Matt chuckled, blushing slightly, as he begins to tell…

Flashback-

Tony Stark, scowled as he watched Matt Murdock walk confidently into Stark Tower. The lawyer, Pepper's choice for handling the legal aftermath of the Iron Man reveal, had become a thorn in Tony's side. It wasn't Matt's legal prowess that bothered him, it was the way Pepper spoke of him.

“He's so calm and collected, Tony,” Pepper had said, a genuine smile on her face. “He handled the press conference beautifully, even with you throwing curveballs.”

Tony had grunted, the jealousy twisting in his gut like a malfunctioning arc reactor. Matt Murdock, with his quiet demeanor and kind eyes, was everything Tony wasn't. He was the grounded lawyer, the responsible one, the complete opposite of Tony's flamboyant billionaire persona.

“Mr. Stark,” Matt greeted, his voice a low rumble. “Pepper said it was urgent.”

Tony gestured to a chair, the tension in the room thick. “Yes, well, there's been a slight... disagreement with a certain Captain America, and I need you to clean up the mess.”

Matt listened patiently as Tony ranted about the disagreement, his words laced with sarcasm and barely concealed bitterness. When Tony finished, Matt simply raised an eyebrow.

“Mr. Stark,” he said, his voice calm, “you're asking me to fix a situation that primarily stems from your own actions. Captain Rogers is not entirely unreasonable.”

Tony scoffed. “He's a relic from a bygone era, clinging to outdated ideals.”

Matt leaned back, his gaze unwavering. “Perhaps, but he's also a man who fought for what he believed in long before you donned a metal suit.”

Tony's jaw clenched. He hated the way Matt spoke, the subtle challenge in his voice. He was a good lawyer, Tony grudgingly admitted, but the man was starting to grate on his nerves.

“Just fix it, Murdock,” Tony snapped, his facade slipping. “That's what I pay you for.”

Matt stood, a faint smile playing on his lips. “I'll do my best, Mr. Stark. But perhaps a little humility wouldn't hurt in the future.”

He left the room, leaving Tony fuming. Humility. The word tasted like ashes in his mouth. He, Tony Stark, the genius billionaire playboy philanthropist, needing humility?

He slammed his fist on the desk, the sound echoing through the sterile room. It wasn't just the disagreement with Captain Rogers that bothered him. It was the way Matt, with his quiet confidence, seemed to effortlessly win Pepper's admiration. It was the way he made Tony feel...

He watched Matt leave, the jealousy still lingering, but something else stirring within him. Maybe Matt was right. Maybe a little less arrogance and a little more understanding wouldn't hurt. He glanced at Pepper, who was working on her tablet, of course he is not going to accept that. How dare he impress Pepper!

“Woah” you and Nat said in unison.

“So you were his lawyer...and he has a problem with you...because you gave some advice?” Nat asks, narrowing her eyes. “Yeah, I guess so...I mean, I don't have any other reason, why he would have a problem with me...” Matt replies.

“Wait what problem, did he have with Steve?” you ask in curiosity. “You should ask him…” Matt said, rubbing the back of his neck, giving you a sheepish smile.

Before you could push him further, suddenly, Tony clad in his Iron Man suit, stormed in, his helmet retracted. Relief washed over you.

“Took you long enough,” Natasha remarked, a hint of relief in her voice. “Traffic” he smirks, before looking at you.

“Kid, are you okay?” he asks, as his gaze landed on Matt, he gasped. “Murdock? What are you doing here?” Tony's voice boomed through the helmet.

Matt raised an eyebrow. “Good to see you Stark.”

“He's with me,” you interjected, “helping with the bomb.”

Tony shot you a glare. “He's a lawyer, kid! Lawyers don't defuse bombs!”

“He's not just a lawyer,” you defended. “he is a vigilante.” Tony scoffed. “Right, because Daredevil is known for his expertise in explosive ordinance.”

Yes, Tony knew who he was. He had done his homework on Matt. Another reason why he had a problem with him.

“Well, if either one of them, gets up, none of us can survive…” Natasha chimed in, her voice calm amidst the chaos. “Murdock's and Y/n combined weight has kept it off.”

Tony hesitated. Pepper had always spoken highly of Matt, his legal prowess and unwavering moral compass. It irked Tony, a strange mix of admiration and resentment. He sighed, “Alright, fine. But if he blows us all up, I'm blaming you.”

Matt chuckled again. “Fair enough.”

Matt was kind enough, to put his arm around your shoulder, to make you comfortable. You did blush and as a reward you got a glare from Tony.

“Traitor!” he mutters to himself. “Kid we are setting some serious ground rules for you...” You narrow your eyes, giving him a questionable look, “What did I do? Isn't this a part of the job?”

“Young lady, don't make me ground you!”.

“To ground the ‘young lady’ Nat rolls her eyes, “we need to save her!” she reminds him.

For a few minutes, which felt like hours, Tony kept glaring at Matt who was unaffected by it. After couple of minutes, Tony snapped out of, mentally doing whatever he was doing to Matt, addressing back to the current problem.

“Care to tell me, how you got in this situation?” even before you or Nat could answer, Tony speaks again “I want the truth, nothing but the truth, don't even try to hide a tiny detail.”, he looks at Matt before looking at you again “or else I'll get FRIDAY to get me all the cctv footage, across town!”

If you thought hiding something from Natasha is hard, meet Tony Stark, who has access to everything. With a big gulp, you tell Tony, every single thing.

“This is getting ridiculous, Murdock!” Tony growled. The lawyer's calm demeanor, the way he held himself with an unwavering confidence, it all grated on Tony's nerves.

Tony knelt beside you, his scanners analyzing the bomb. “Looks like a basic pressure-sensitive trigger. We need to disarm it without lifting either of you. These wires are connected in different places.”

“What does that mean?” you ask. “It means we need to cut these wires at the same time, as soon as I figured out the code system.” Tony tells you. “Thankfully, Rogers is here too… he can”

“Steve? He’s here?” you ask in surprise. “Yeah, he tagged along...he” “Where is he?” you cut him off, desperate to see Steve.

“What the hell?” You all turn to the direction of the voice, Steve was standing, looking extremely furious, not at the situation, but you and Matt sitting together.

miguel had been on a mission on another earth when he had seen you. you were the most beautiful person he’d ever seen. with one glance, he had felt things he hadn’t felt since… since he lost everything. he came to see you every day, never talking to you, but watching you from a far. he knew better than to disrupt your life, he knew better than to disrupt the timeline. he watched and loved and protected you, like a guardian angel.

“you’ve been watching that screen for a long time.” jessica comments, giving miguel a knowing stare.

“it’s nothing.” he’s short with her. he knew she’d get it, but she would also try to talk some sense into him. he knows that it can’t happen. everything he touches, he ruins.

“miguel. i don’t know what you’re doing, but as your… friend, i know that this isn’t healthy.” jessica places a hand on his shoulder, he brushes her off.

“i’m not doing anything that needs to be worried about. i’ve sent you a mission.” he hears jessica sigh before leaving him alone in solitude.

he felt better knowing that he was protecting you and keeping you safe, but he knew that it would end. even with the sense of foreboding lingering in the back of his mind, he fell deeper and deeper for you. for your kindness, for your beauty, for your silly laughs and stupid jokes. he loves you more and more with every visit. but then he saw it, he saw the end.

“hey parker.” you pull your earth’s peter into a hug, miguel imagines that it was him.

“i love you.” you tangle your hands in peter’s hair as you both kiss, miguel imagines that it was him.

“i know you’ll always protect me, peter.” peter wraps an arm around your waist and you both fly through the city, miguel feels himself shatter.

he watched as you met peter parker, he watched as you fell in love, he watched as you stopped needing him. he knew that it was never meant to be, but that doesn’t make it hurt any less.

matt murdock: right person, wrong time

you and matt clicked the moment you met. after bumping into you walking out of a coffee shop, he felt sparks the moment you touched. you relentlessly apologizing to him, pressing a handful of napkins to the stain on his shirt. he barely felt the pain, focusing on your touch. with that one moment, everything fell in place. every moment with you felt magical, he wanted to be with you for the rest of his life, and your quiet moments together, daredevil doesn’t exist, only you and matt. but as your relationship progressed, it was getting harder for matt to keep daredevil a secret: canceling dates, sneaking out in the middle of the night, giving you shitty excuses for his mysterious bruises. he knew you don’t believe him, but he knew you loved him enough to trust that he would tell you the truth in time. he wanted to tell you so bad, but when he wakes up in the morning, hearing your peaceful breathing, your soft skin pressed against his, he holds back. all he wants is to tell you, but he knows that to keep you safe, you must remain oblivious. but he can see the lies weighing on you. he knows you stay up at night waiting for him, he can see the worry ruining your health as you fuss over his injuries. so he let you go. it was hard, letting you sob and scream, fighting the urge to comfort you. he felt his heart shatter as you packed your things. you were the love of his life, but he doesn’t deserve you, not yet.

father paul hill/john pruitt: forbidden love

you were new to the small island, new to the church. you had caught his eye when you had left sunday mass the moment the eucharist had been given. from the corner of his eye, he had seen bev frown as you leave the church. he had put it out of his mind, of course, focusing on mass.

“are you new?” he had seen you walk in with a dog on a weekday, while he was writing his sermon inside the sacristy. with his interest piqued, he walked out. you looked up at his voice and he felt his heart stop. you were beautiful. two paws launched themselves onto his chest and he stumbled backwards, falling to the floor. you raced over, frantic.

“oh my god, father, i’m so sorry. i didn’t think anyone was here so i had let go of his leash.” you frantically explain, trying your hardest to pull your big dog off of him. john paul couldn’t help, but laugh as the dog licked at his face.

“it’s fine, (y/n). it’s very… friendly.” he chuckles as you manage to wrestle the dog off of him. once your dog had settled down, you both sat down on a pew near the back. your dog had jumped into both of your laps. “you’re new, right? i saw you at sunday mass, but i hadn’t recognized you.”

“oh, yeah, father. i just moved here. just like you.” you let out a small laugh.

he bumped your shoulder with his, “guess we’ll have to help each other out then.” from that point on, he noticed that you had been coming around the church more often. soon, he was dropping by your house for dinner and wine once the town goes quiet. both of you sit on the couch, watching some movie that you had picked. he enjoyed every movie you pick, loving every interest you have. you set a plate full of pasta in front of paul and poured him a generous amount of wine. paul felt his eyes drift to your face as you watched the movie. he noticed every little detail about you: the way you bit your lip in concentration, the way your hands gripped the couch in suspenseful moments, your eyes welling up and your lips quivering when the scene gets sad. you turn and paul quickly turns away, feeling his face burn. he feels the cold touch of your hand on his cheek. he looks back and you smile, your eyes trail from his eyes to his lips.

“father, w-will you kiss me?” you stammer and he feels his heart stop. you take his silence as rejection and your eyes shine, “i’m so sorry, father paul, i didn’t me-” he presses his lips against yours as he pulls you into his lap. from that moment on, his daily dinners turned to something more secretive, more taboo. he felt like he was betraying everything he had been taught, but how could your touch be sinful if it feels like an angel’s. every wink, every secret smile, every late-night escapade, his heart had never raced like this. he knew that it could never be, his soul would always belong to god, but he lets himself get fooled by his heart. especially if it means he can feel your skin against his every night.

peter parker: friends to lovers

you had been friends with peter since freshman year. you had been with him through everything: every heartbreak, every broken friendship, every death. you gave him a safe haven after spider patrols. you hadn’t thought of peter as anything more of a friend till he saved your life. you had gotten mugged and peter had jumped in, in that moment, you felt something wash over you. you couldn’t place the feeling till you saw him the next day. peter had pulled you into a hug and you felt your stomach flip.

“i’m so glad you’re okay, god (y/n).” he mumbled into your hair.

you feel your heart beat faster, hyper aware of his arms around you. you laugh, trying to sound normal, “thank god spiderman was there.” he pulls away and laughs.

“yeah, yeah. sorry i couldn’t stick around though. you can’t be too careful.” he bumps his shoulder against you and you felt the butterflies in your stomach rage. since then, you became more aware of the quick touches, the secret glances, the subtle flirting. at first, you really thought it was in your head.

“i really don’t think it’s on purpose.” you frown, recounting to your friend about your feelings.

“you don’t seriously believe that, do you?” they look at you, eyebrow raised. you look back, doubtful. they groan, “oh my god, (y/n), you guys have been so weird around each other for like two months now. everyone has noticed. i mean, you remember when we went to go see a movie last week?”

“i’ll buy it for you, don’t worry. go save our seats.” peter smiles at you. “everyone else is also inside, so just save me a seat.”

 “but, i don’t want you to be standing out here alone.” you frown, looking around. the concession area was almost empty as most people were already inside, waiting for their respective movies to start.

“i’ll be okay, what’s a movie without our food.” he winks and gets into the line. he shoos you off. you wait for peter in the theater, your friend sits in his seat.

“hey, peter’s sitting here.” you whisper.

they laugh, “he’ll be fine if he’s away from you for a couple of hours.” peter walks in, hands full with popcorn and icees. he walks over and stops, he gives you a look and you shrug.

“move down, guys.” he calls to the rest of your group. everyone moves down, but your friend stands their ground.

“peter, there’s a lot of seats, pick one.”

“i want to sit next to (y/n).” he shrugs. your friend gives you a shocked look and you shrug again. they roll their eyes and moves down. peter sits down and hands over your things. as the movie went on, you could feel peter’s arm lightly touch yours, his foot bump into yours. at one point, you can feel him staring at you, but when you look over, his eyes are on the movie. your heart raced, but you grabbed his hand and entwine your fingers. he looks over and you can feel your face burn.

“i know it looks like he likes me, but what if he doesn’t? he hasn’t said a word to me since then. like no surprise visits, no texts, nothing.” you groan and lean your head against the table. your friend hums, but doesn’t respond. the next week, peter showed up at your door.

“i need to be honest with you.” peter sighs. you let him in and he steps in, looking around awkwardly. you gesture to the couch and peter sits down. “look, (y/n), i just feel so- i don’t know. i have to say this, but i don’t want to- to ruin what we have, you know?” peter stumbles through his words. you don’t say anything, heart in your throat. you can feel dread, ‘he knows how i feel, he’s uncomfortable. oh my god, i ruined our friendship.’ you feel like throwing up and tears well in your eyes. “hey, hey, hey. what’s wrong? why-” he puts a hand on your arm, eyebrows furrowed in worry.

“i’m sorry, peter, i know i must have made you uncomfortable during the movies. god, i don’t even know what came over me. i just really, really, really like you. i-i’m so sorry, peter. i’ve ruined everything.” you break down, and peter gets up and kneels in front of you.

you’ve been working at S.H.E.I.L.D for a 6 months and natasha has had her eyes on you for 6 months. at first it started harmlessly.

“hello agent romanov, i’m (y/n) (l/n).  director fury told me i’d be handling your cases from now on.” you keep a neutral face as you address her, and she smiles.

“good to meet you, agent (l/n). i’m glad to know that my cases are in such good care.” she looks you up and down, you quirk an eyebrow before smiling. you stick a hand out and nat examines your face. she smiles before shaking it, “i think we’ll make a good team.”

you let go of her hand, “i think so too.”

she doesn’t really know when friendly interactions turned flirty. it was so easy to talk to you, easier than the others. you were just so… patient, so understanding. she hadn’t felt this way about someone in a very long time, but it was just so easy with you.

nat trailed her fingertips along your arm, she had pulled up a chair next to you as you sat in your office. “what’s our next case?” you ignore her, but don’t make any effort to move away from her antics. “(l/n).” she whispers into your ear. you look over, eyebrow raised. “case?”

“hmm,” you flip through the stacks of manila folders on your desk. “nothing for this week, so you can go get some beauty sleep, nat.” you smile and turn back to your paperwork.

“maybe you should come over tonight, (l/n).” nat smiles at you, mirth twinkling in her eyes. you look away, smiling wide, and decide to indulge her.

“i don’t think that’s very appropriate, agent romanov, i mean what would people say?” you act as if you said something scandalous. nat bites her cheek to fight a smile before leaning in to press a kiss to your neck.

“i don’t know, baby, but i think they’d kill to be me.” she mumbles into your neck, playfully biting you.

regulus black: rivals to lovers

you were the first one to raise your hand, first to make potions right, first to turn your tests in. regulus black hated you. you were a stuck up, know-it-all, whose only purpose for existing was to piss him off. you’d smirk at him when you get the answer before him, when he gets it wrong. and he especially hates that stupid laugh you have when you see that your test scores were higher than his. regulus black hated you. and what makes it worse is that his parents loved you. you were so respectful and good when they were around, hooking your arm with his, smiling and laughing, making his heart beat faster, and his stomach turn. regulus doesn’t really know when that happened. when your stupid face started seeming less stupid and more… pretty. when your ugly laugh was more amusing than annoying. and he doesn’t like thinking about it. you and him? you’ve been enemies since the first year, and even as fifth years, you’ll continue to be his sworn enemy.

“reg?” your angelic irritating voice brought him back from his daydream. he had been sitting under a tree near the whomping willow, reading a book. he looks up to see your face, crouching down in front of him.

“what?” he looks back at his book, you huff and pull his book out of his hands. “(y/n)!”

“listen to me! ...please.” for the first time since he met you, you sounded utterly pathetic. he bites back a gleeful smile.

“fine. you are holding my book hostage, i might as well listen, for its safety of course.” he rolled his eyes and leaned back against the tree.

you sit down onto your knees and laugh and regulus feels like grinning, “of course, for your book’s safety.” you rip a couple blades of grass out of the ground and bookmark his page. he feels his heart jump, but clears his throat. “you know how the parkinson’s are holding another winter gala during the break?” you look at him with your dazzling eyes, he nods, “well, i was wondering if you wanted to go with me… as my date?” he straightens, eyes widening before he narrows them, examining the hopeful look on your face and your wringing hands.

“are you joking with me right now?” he scoffs, leaning back, feeling a twinge of hurt.

“no! no, listen, i’ve really liked you… since maybe the third year? i don’t know, i know we haven’t been the nicest to each other, so i understand if you don’t want-”

“well, i never said that.” he interrupts you, your eyes shine and regulus fights the urge to kiss you. “and i’m fine with putting a pause on our… rivalry.” he rolls his eyes, feeling his face burn in embarrassment. you drop the book onto the ground and toss yourself onto him. regulus starts to shout, but he feels your arms wrap around him.

“thank you, thank you, thank you! i’m so excited!” you hug him tighter and regulus relents quickly, hugging you back. he buries his face into your shoulder, squeezing you against him.

“yeah, yeah, you don’t have to be so excited.”

you met Harley while shoplifting at the jewelry store she was robbing. she had a gun pointed right at you when she paused.

“oh. my. gosh. you are absolutely…” she pauses, tilting your head, before squealing “adorable!!!” she grips your face in her hands, gun still cocked. you feel true fear spreading through your body. “absolutely adorable, we should be friends!” she swings an arm around your shoulder before ordering the jeweler to give her everything. then in one blink, you were in her apartment (lair?) and making out on her couch. you became the planner and she became the plan-ruiner, she did the real action and you were the getaway driver, she brought you the money and you made sure to keep everything off of batman’s radar. even if the plans you make go sideways cause of harley, you couldn’t find it in yourself to get mad. you fell in love. she always made sure to protect you from joker and batman, putting herself on the line when shit hits the fan. she’d never let anyone hurt you, she’d rather be in danger before you.

“angel-cakes! let’s go get some sandwiches from that place near the bank, i’ve been dyinggg for an egg sandwich.” she jumps onto the couch, tossing her legs into your lap.

“you planning on getting some money from the bank?” you start rubbing her feet, as a reflex, eyes still on the t.v.

“no, silly, i just want a sandwich.” she pulls her feet off and twists herself to get her head in your lap. you smile and play with her hair.“alright, let’s go get some sandwiches and some money.” harley shoots up and leaves a big, wet smooch onto your cheek.

you two almost get kicked out of the store when she knocks over accessories on a shelf and has to rapidly put everything back

you stay in the store until it closes and you have to rush to check out the costumes you eventually decide on
