Back to back to back!

I know it shouldn't have, but it caught me completely off guard when Ryan and Natalie both knew I was cosplaying Fred! And so did a person in line for Chris' table (they said they'd be Moriarty [I presume William?] today; hopefully I'll find 'em)! c:

I wasn't really expecting it, 'cause y'know, Fred is kinda always off to the side and doesn't talk much. I was just so ecstatic!

Anyway, they are all wanting a continuation of the anime just as much as the rest of us do. Hopefully we'll get that wish one day sooner than later!

usually, i prefer watching anime with Japanese audio. like. no matter how good the VAs are, or even if I liked the VA’s work elsewhere, English dubs just never sounded right to me.

Almost forgot to show the goods I got from Fan Expo SF yesterday!

Natalie was so sweet, we had a fun little conversation about our fan merch collection, apparently she has a wall grid with a bunch of fanmade keychains & I told her about my current pin binder project. I also wished her luck bc I'm excited to see her take on Star and Stripe for the next season of MHA.

As for Monica, she adored the Tsu fan print I got from one of the vendors and even did a li'l "ribbit" when she signed it and also complimented my Sanrio x MHA collab shirt!

My brother and I got a kick out of Richard Horvitz when he signed our Invader Zim stuff while doing the chaotic irken's voice. He also let us know that the Helluva Boss cast is gonna do a big meetup for the upcoming Sacanime con, so we're hoping we can make it to that one too (Should I go, I'm considering doing an Octavia cosplay, if I have time to get the materials necessary).

Not sure if I should post it here cuz of face reveal, but I got two recordings: one of Maurice in character as The Brain asking me to help assist him in world domination, and the other of Rob in character as Yakko & Pinky making me and brother laugh. They both also gave us great advice on voice acting and it was truly a delight to meet them as I previously felt like my chances of meeting them was gonna be a "once in a blue moon" type of thing.

All & all, it was a pretty fun con (even tho my legs are killing me from walking around all day yesterday)!

Finally caught up on the G-Witch dub and I'm excited and ready for the finale next week during Suletta Sunday!

I haven't always been the biggest fan of the dub, there are some casting choices/performances I'm not particularly fond of (Chuchu & Shaddiq stick out for me) and some of the pronunciations have been weird (Gu-El). But Natalie Van Sistine's performance as Miorine has been consistently excellent throughout the show, and while I haven't always been the biggest fan of Jill Harris' Suletta performance, she's really nailed it in the back half of S2. She did such an amazing job with Suletta's heartbreak and trauma in episode 17 & 18, and her performance during the Quiet Zero duel with Eri was amazing. And they both nailed the reunion in episode 22.

I don't think it's as good as the JP dub, especially the performances put in by Kana Ichinose & Lynn, but as far as EN dubs go it's pretty solid and a good experience. Looking forward to seeing how it delivers on the finale, and I hope the people who have been waiting to watch it dubbed enjoy the ending.

Out of curiosity I checked out the dub for Spy x Family because I learned Natalie Van Sistine also does Yor and, yeah, I think of the main cast she’s doing the best job.

Again, when she gets to go for angry she’s pretty stellar (“I am that girl’s mother do you hear me?!”) but also her soft moments are really nice, like when Yor notices Loid getting stressed at the restaurant and suggests getting some fresh air.
