Alright, fellow Barriss Offee fans, I've got a fiendish idea. I'm shooting for the Moon here.

I've been looking for an excuse to release expectation that Barriss will appear in Ahsoka or other Mandoverse properties with the part either recast or reprised by Nalini Krishan. It would be great if that happened but what if we think bigger.

The fact that Vernestra is showing up as an elder Jedi in The Acolyte has me inspired.

I now want Barriss to return in the New Jedi Order movie, in her 70s by this point, played by Iranian-American actress Shohreh Aghdashloo.

She shows up unannounced and is like "Okay, girlie. If you're serious about reforming the Jedi Order listen to what I've got to say. Frist of all don't build your temple on top of an old Sith shrine. Come on. We're going on a road trip, bring your whole polycule."

I know from ~10 year old interviews that she followed The Clone Wars and said it was “important to keep track of what happens to your character” so I imagine she is aware. She still goes to conventions so she stays in the know.

I have been curious....

I wonder if Nalini Krishan knows about the excitement of Barriss returning, maybe it's a possibility for her to reprise the role....

Dare I point out that Nalini Krishan is exactly the right age to reprise her role as Barriss Offee opposite Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka?

I loved Baylan's character and I love Ray Stevenson's performance.

But I honestly think that role could've gone to Barriss Offee.

Barriss could've been the dark reflection of Ahsoka. Someone in the grey, but with something more dark with more of a philosophy than Jedi or Sith.

And Shin could've EASILY have been Barriss' apprentice.

The dark reflection of Ahsoka and Sabine, like it writes itself.

Nalini Krishan could've returned to play Barriss or Sheila Vand could be good as Barriss

I strongly feel like it was a mistake to just forget that Barriss even exists at all. Filoni did NOTHING with her. Now there is no role for her in this story.

I’m glad Nalini Krishan is Australian, idk how I would handle bumping into her at a con.

was doodling depa billaba earlier and started thinking about how insane it must be to be one of the actors that played one of the background jedi in the prequels. like. your main job is to either sit in a circle or stand behind samuel l jackson and look as cool and monk-like as you possibly can while wearing three layers of beige bathrobes and 50 pounds of makeup designed to make you look like an alien fish man. you have three scenes and no lines. you're not even sure the character has a name.

that character later appears in multiple clone wars arcs with speaking lines, has a comic issue focused on them, and there are at least five dedicated people writing gay fanfiction about them. their wookiepedia page is sixteen paragraphs long and includes their favorite color and seven different ways they might have died, none or all of which are currently canon.

Hey, Bailey, I hope your new year was wizard! I came to ask your opinion on Barriss being casted for the Ahsoka show. I know I’m buzzing that Barriss canonically lived (most likely the case) but a part of me is scared they will butcher her story and make her an inquisitor. I’m looking forward to she and Ahsoka banding and travelling together, ex-Jedi on the run. I can imagine the shenanigans already lol. I agree with you 100% that Nalini should be the one to reprise Barriss in any live action production. She is Barriss. We would not have the Barriss we know today without her. There’s no denying who you’re looking at when you pick up a Medstar book or google “Barriss Offee” whose face you’re going to see. George chose her to be Barriss, she didn’t even have to audition for the role (you can easily find articles on this subject with a simple search or check out Nalini’s social media to see for yourself) The man took one look and was like “yep get her fitted in the hood because that’s Barriss” 💙

Above all, Nalini loves her character very much and is quite proud to have been Barriss. She has read the Legends novels herself and has kept up with her character in the Clone Wars (and like all of us Barriss fans, she despises what they’ve done to her). Also she is at the right age to portray Barriss in a post Rebellion/Empire age as the character would be in her forties as the actress is. In a recent interview I saw her in, Nalini stated that she is listening and waiting for any opportunity to reprise her role in the Ahsoka. If anyone could restore the character back to her glory, it’s Nalini 💙 It’s as you have mentioned Alexei, no one knows Barriss better than Barriss herself.

See? 🥺 she doesn’t even care if she can’t be Barriss, she just wants her back like the rest of us! A sweet lady like that deserves to be refitted into that costume and hold that lightsaber again!

Lucasfilm…you’ve done enough regarding Barriss Offee. Do the right thing and bring Nalini back as Barriss 💙

Side note: I cannot wait for this woman’s image as Barriss to be tattooed along with the Jedi I have on me very soon 💙

It's weird hearing this actor I associate so closely with Legends Barriss say "Ahsoka".

Now that The Acolyte has confirmed Mirialans have a longer-than-human lifespan that leaves the possibility open that Nalini Krishan could reprise the role in that Rey’s New Jedi Order movie.
