Katrina Kaif has been very active ever since she joined the colourful world of social media. She joined Facebook last year on her birthday and recently joined Instagram. The stunning actress keeps her fans updated with photos on her Insta handle and we can't get enough of her.

Today, Katrina shared a selfie on her Instagram account. In the photo, Kat is seen posing with Salman Khan's sister Alvira Agnihotri and fitness trainer, Yasmin Karachiwala.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Katrina is currently in Abu Dhabi where she is shooting for Tiger Zinda Hai. TZH is helmed by Sultan director Ali Abbas Zafar and stars Salman Khan. It is the sequel to the 2012 hit movie Ek Tha Tiger which was then directed by Kabir Khan.  

Katrina's next release is Jagga Jasoos which will see the actress pair opposite her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. The movie which is directed by Anurag Basu is slated to release on July 14, 2017, and will be clashing with Saif Ali Khan's Chef as well as Shraddha Kapoor's Haseena.  

Kat will also be a part of Thugs of Hindostan which stars Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Fatima Sana Shaikh in lead roles. Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Yash Raj Films, Thugs of Hindostan is slated for a Diwali 2018 release. 

Katrina will be playing the role of a dancer in the movie and will reportedly have a special number in the movie.

I recently mentioned a friend of mine who is helping Syrian refugee families get settled in the greater Miami area (in this post). These are her words and pictures from Facebook, shared with permission, and all so beautiful: 

“So this happened tonight. Muslims, non-Muslims and recently resettled Syrian families all gathered around the table. Our first south Florida Syrian Supper Club. I really don't have words. Maybe they will come to me in the next few days once I've digested this spectacular evening a little bit more. These (first two) are photos of us after dinner, listening to the Syrian families tell their stories. The best part? When they said that although they've been here for seven months, this was the first time they had a feeling of home: gathered together with friends, under the night sky, sharing food and good conversation. Thank you to all of the guests who attended and everyone who gave generously to support this event. Thank you to the families who cooked the most delicious Syrian food for all of us and shared their culture and their journeys. Thank you to the amazing planning committee we created Sahar Shaikh, Sara Fathima, Yasmine Saib and Kate Cruz. I'm so grateful to all of you... for seeing the potential in this kind of event and each doing your own unique and amazing part to make it a huge success. I cannot wait for the next one!”

LAHORE PHOTOJOURNALISTS ASSOCIATION DELEGATION CALLS ON CM PUNJAB

LAHORE, June 26:

A delegation of Lahore Photojournalists Association led by its President Iqbal Chaudhry called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office and apprised him about their problems.

The CM assured to solve their problems and directed secretary information to take steps for the restoration of the grant suspended in the previous tenure. I am always available to help solve the problems of the photojournalists association, he further assured.

The CM regretted the personal like and dislike policy of the past rulers spoiled the country. The past rulers started such ostentatious projects which cost heavily to the nation, he said and continued that government resources were spent as personal property. On the other side, the PTI government has promoted the much-needed culture of austerity and simplicity and public money is being spent prudently, the CM added.

The delegation appreciated the public welfare work done by the Punjab government and Iqbal Chaudhry appreciated the people are being served honestly and diligently by the CM Punjab. Your work is self-evident, he added.

CM CHAIRS HIGH-LEVEL MEETING TO TAKE STOCK OF DIFFERENT THINGS

LAHORE, June 26:

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar expressed anger over the performance of line departments with regard to controlling price-hike, overcoming hoarding, monsoon planning and provision of services to the citizens.

While chairing a high-level meeting at his office, the CM strictly admonished the officials for failing to take timely steps and made it clear that departments will have to perform as any procrastination is simply intolerable. He directed the line departments to take prior steps for the solution of public problems adding that any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated. Strict action will be taken by identifying those responsible for negligence, he warned.

The CM directed that planning for the solution of problems arising due to monsoon season should be made and public representatives be included in consultation as well. He directed the Special Branch to submit a comprehensive report about the province-wise availability of medicines and antiseptic liquid. A report should also be submitted about the preparedness of WASA and the possible problems, due to flood and rains, should also be identified well in advance, he added. He said that WASA, as well as municipal corporations, should ensure that people may not face any difficulty.

The CM made it clear that the increase in the rates of medicines and essential items is unacceptable and directed that effective action be initiated against hoarders. A foolproof mechanism be devised for the accountability of those involved in price-hike, he asserted. The CM termed the deplorable situation of WASA in Faisalabad as very tragic and directed it to rectify the faulty sewerage on court orders within 20 days. He directed to ensure availability of corona related medicines at their fixed rates and further directed that their rates be displayed outside every pharmacy.

Secretary Primary & Secondary Healthcare told that stocks of corona related medicines and the raw material is available in abundance and continued supply of medicines has been ensured at eight pharmacies in big districts and four pharmacies in small districts.

Provincial ministers Raja Basharat, Dr Yasmin Rashid, Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Chief secretary, IG police and others attended the meeting.

PARLIAMENTARIANS DISCUSS DEVELOPMENT AGENDA WITH THE CM PUNJAB

LAHORE, June 26:

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has said the past injustices will be rectified and ongoing development projects will be completed on a priority basis as development is the right of every citizen.

While talking to assembly members at his assembly chamber, the CM reiterated that parliamentarians are his lieutenants and they will be given full respect and honour. He termed their proposals about development schemes as worthwhile adding that Punjab is being transformed as every city is moving forward on the road to progress. The development process will leave positive impacts on people. He added that the government is fully cognizant of citizens’ problems and is committed to solving them.

The CM further said all-out resources will be provided for the welfare of minorities and the PTI government has a comprehensive agenda to provide equal development opportunities to the minority communities. Different assembly members apprised the CM about their proposals for development schemes in their areas and the chief minister issued directions for necessary action in this regard.

Those who called on the CM included Muhammad Muneeb Sultan Cheema, Amin Ullah Khan, Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Atif, Muhammad Amin Zulqarnain, Sadia Sohail Rana, Ayesha Nawaz, Farrah Agha, Mahinder Pall Singh, Haroon Imran Gill and Peter Gill.

The CM also attended the budget session of Punjab Assembly.
