Cockwarming
Kinkmas Day 1
Pairing: So’lek x fem!Sarentu!reader
Warnings: MINORS DNI 🔞, P in V, raw sex, semi!dirty talk, praise, cockwarming, (technically) breeding
A/N: I decided at literally last minute that I wanted to join in on Kinkmas, so this might seem a bit rushed. Hope y’all still enjoy it though! :)
Summary: So’lek took the Sarentu he had grow closest to on an overnight trip to observe a nearby RDA site, but they get stuck in a cave during a heavy storm. They build a small fire but they’re both still freezing, so they come up with another way to keep each other warm.
Tumblr media
So’lek grunts in annoyance as he climbs further up the steep hill, rain pelting him in the face and nearly making him lose his hold on the outcropping rock he had been holding onto. He regains his hold quickly before glancing behind himself at the other Na'vi with him — one of the female Sarentu. She was the one that escaped alone when he was helping Alma rescue her and the other remaining members of her clan from TAP.
She’s right behind him as they climb the rock, and only a few minutes later So’lek reaches the top of the hill and the foot of the cave, reaching down to grab the Sarentu’s hand before lifting her up into the cave beside him. They both just rest there for a moment, catching their breaths as they watch the middle of the storm finally reach them, the rain pouring down outside the cave nearly enough to form a small waterfall.
After a few moments the girl Na’vi stands and heads deeper into the cave, finding a few dry branches and setting them up to make a fire. So’lek does his best to scout the area around their cave without getting himself drenched by the rain, then he makes his way over to her just as she lights the fire.
She adds a few more sticks and small branches to the fire before carefully stripping off most of her coverings, leaving herself only in her tewng, chest covering, and her chest plate. So’lek watches her silently, his eyes trailing over her body here and there, pausing over the small bruises on her hips and the occasional bite spread out over her inner thighs from one of their most recent endeavors.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hours later the pair are huddled together as far back in the cave as they can get, the Sarentu visibly shivering even as So’lek adds more wood to the small fire. He’s more discreet about his lack of warmth, but he’s quick to huddle back up behind her once he’s finished adding the remainder of the wood to the fire. So’lek takes a moment to consider his options before leaning in and wrapping his arms around her waist, resting his forehead against the back of her neck as he gently pulls her closer in an attempt to share their body heat with one another. The Sarentu smiles as he leans in close, resting one of her hands over his even as she continues to shiver, her teeth chattering quietly.
Both of them try desperately to sleep but even as So’lek begins warming slightly, the girl’s chattering teeth and insistent backing up to get closer to him does nothing but keep him awake. This goes on for another ten minutes before So’lek thinks of something new to try and begins softly pressing kisses to the back of her neck, his tail curling gently around her’s when she gasps softly.
Tumblr media
Only minutes later the Sarentu had given him verbal consent and now So'lek had pulled her tewng to the side, lazily thrusting two of his own fingers inside her, groaning softly at the quiet moans she let out as he stretched her gently. As if she wasn't already practically putty beneath his hands, he was also finding amusement in whispering little comments, whether he meant for her to hear them or not she wasn't sure. "Nìtxan 'ekxin...tswìk oe nemfa nìtxan nìltsan. (So tight...sucking me in so well.)" So'lek murmured right beside her ear, chuckling softly as her cunt fluttered around his digits.
The Sarentu whimpered needily, bucking her hips against his hand before grinding her hips back against him through his tewng, “Please, So’lek.. Oe nìtxan mek, kin nga mìfa. (I’m so empty, need you inside.)” So’lek coos softly, nuzzling his cheek against her shoulder as he gently pulls his fingers from her before moving his own tewng to the side. He used her juices on his fingers as lube as he stroked his cock once, twice, before lining it up to her entrance and slowly pushing into her.
It seemed that they both held their breaths until he was fully bottomed out inside her, a soft whimper falling from her lips as So’lek muffled a groan against her shoulder. He allowed her a few moments to adjust before he began slowly pulling out until only the tip remained, then slowly but deeply thrusting back in, repeating his movements until little moans were spilling from her on each thrust in.
As he steadily rocked against her, soft groans and quiet curses continuously slipped out of So’lek’s mouth, little murmurs of “O-oh, fuck-” or comments muffled against her shoulder that make her stomach flutter and her cunt clench around So’lek’s cock. “Tsä’ pxaw oe.. nafì’u sìltsan ‘evenge. (Gushing around me..such a good girl.)” the words were whispered right against her ear and her inner walls gave another flutter around him, a choked moan falling from her lips as his tip grazed her g-spot, “Nga kop txukx… (You're too deep…)” So’lek groaned again before pressing a soft kiss against her shoulder in response to her words and her tone.
She could tell when So’lek was close to his release by how his cock twitched inside her, how he wet a few fingers on his free hand before reaching around and beginning to rub quick steady circles against her clit to mask the way his thrusts were starting to get sloppy and uncoordinated. “Lu nga tstu si? (Are you close?)” he asked her, his voice pitching up slightly at the end as he swallowed down a soft whimper at the way her walls were beginning to milk him, bringing him dangerously close to the edge that he was desperate to push her over before him.
The Sarentu was about to answer him when she suddenly felt his tip brush against her cervix. A loud gasp left her mouth before her inner walls spasmed around him, properly milking him as her arousal squirted out and partially soaking both their thighs. So’lek let out a quiet broken moan, thrusting hard into her a few more times before pushing as deep in as he could go and stilling, panting quietly as Sarentu shivered slightly from the feeling of his cum painting her walls white.
A few more minutes passed as they both just relaxed, panting quietly until So’lek gently adjusted their position, returning to properly spooning her while letting her warm his cock, both of them purring softly while he pressed light kisses up her jaw, his hips lazily grinding against her. “Lu nga sang set? (Are you warm yet?)” So’lek broke the silence after a while and the Sarentu couldn’t help the quiet chuckle that left her until they were both laughing quietly, the loud but calming sound of the rain outside the cave eventually sending them both to sleep.

Frontiers of Pandora story review ✨
BEWARE! Heavy spoilers ahead.
Tumblr media
Alright, since I don’t see people talking about this game as much as I’d want on my socials, I decided to put together a little review where I talk about the story, what spoke to me, as well as some critiques.
To summarise my opinion; I love it! The story knows where it’s taking place and takes advantage of it. It covers dark topics and succeeds in staying as serious in tone as the movie franchise, which makes the campaign feel like it truly belongs in the world of Pandora.
To speak more in-depth; the plot of a Na’vi residential school had me hooked from the first moment. I think residential schools that native children were forced into are a topic not talked about often enough, so I appreciated the developers and writers bringing awareness to such facilities, even if it’s in sci-fi form. reconnecting with Na’vi heritage that was stolen from the main character and their family is executed quite well, as playing frontiers lets you get immersed into the feeling of exploration and discovery. The player is as un-knowledgeable about the world around them as the protagonist, and being able to experience new connections, abilities, places, stories and traditions side-by-side with them has been an amazing ride.
The different Na’vi cultures shown in the game are written organically. They each possess an intricate fashion based on their values, environment and history, but that is not all. Every clan has a cast of characters, bigger or smaller, who bring further life into the western frontier, help expand on the lore and provide entertainment. My personal favourites of these characters have to be Nefika and Kin, both elderly Na’vi with a welcoming presence and charm. Second to them come Eetu and Okul!
Then there is the main cast, which is MC, their three found family siblings, a.k.a the surviving Sarentu children, So’lek, Alma and Priya. We consistently stay in contact with them, both as part of the campaign and as part of our explorations, sharing experiences with them. The protagonist character is righteous, brave and endlessly adorable in their reactions to the world around them, and the trio of Sarentu forever have a place in my heart. I liked the concept of each one of the Sarentu children representing a different reaction to their past abuse and toxic relationship with John Mercer.
Nor, who had most luxury of remembering his life before being taken by the RDA, tries to distance himself as far as possible from everything human, and progressively adopts an antagonistic mindset towards his human allies, as well as a growing feeling of resentment and vengeance. I do not blame him for it and I believe it makes sense. After him comes Ri’nela, who, during Mercer’s captivity, tried staying out of sight but protecting her siblings where she could. Without Mercer, she feels insecure, constantly stumbling and at first, regularly looks guidance from Alma. She beats herself up for things that happen to Teylan and A’hari, despite being unable to have fixed them, but eventually grows into a stronger person, being able to take on the role of a Tsahik in the clan. Lastly, there is Teylan and he has to be my favorite character in the game. His bond to Mercer is strong, as T.A.P is all he ever knew, so without John, he begins falling apart. Lack of constant control and lack of ""affection"" from Tey’s "father figure" leave him feeling ten times as insecure as Ri’nela. He has a hard time learning Na’vi ways, keeps lagging behind and ultimately sticks to technology and hacking, which is worsened by So’lek’s nagging, as he obviously doesn’t know how severe Teylan’s abuse was and simply assumes that he is "lost" in the new world. Eventually, Teylan does what many abuse victims do, and returns to his abuser. An action I kind of predicted, but which still really hit me. His voice actor did an incredible job of portraying this character and the rest of the campaign I spent praying that I’ll get to bring him back home. In the end, I’m happy he’s at home and safe. 🥹💖🫶
Now to the grown ups. I don’t have much to say about Priya, but I grew fond of her. I liked her development from an awkward girl that sparks horrific second-hand embarrassment in the viewer to a resistance member who actively puts herself in the line of fire to help her friends. I found myself getting worried for her whenever she didn’t respond or was in danger.
So’lek is a character who I was immediately fond of, and I liked his growth as well. He saw himself as completely separate from human resistance members, and his thoughts are often occupied by revenge, but he comes to care for MC, the Sarentu and eventually the humans. Seeing him protect Alma when Nor attacks her was a brilliant moment.
Lastly, there is Alma herself. A very grey character who did horrible things in the past, like leading the program side-by-side with John Mercer. I liked her development, from an aloof and seemingly supportive teacher at T.A.P, to a person that orchestrated the entire project. Her grief and guilt feel organic, and I found myself having a lot of difficult feelings about her as it is obvious she cares for the Sarentu children, but her sins cannot be forgiven. I’m happy Ri’nela made the choice to simply part ways with her in peace, instead of trying to build a new bridge.
Now, for what I believe was executed badly. It’s quite unfortunate, but the game suffers from the same problem as Avatar the way of water, only quadrupled and that is; we don’t get enough time with the characters.
It feels even worse because in comparison to the movies, games don’t have to worry about pacing or time limits. The campaign can be as long as developers wish, but it came out rushed anyway. Part of the reason I got as attached to the characters as I did was because I spent time getting emotionally invested into everything they said, their minor behavioural cues and voicelines, but not everyone is as dedicated, and those people should have the right to experience a good story as well. They shouldn’t have to seek it out between the lines.
The only characters who I felt were properly developed are Teylan and Alma. They had the most extensive arcs and their growth was tied into a nice bow. But what about Ri’nela, Nor and So’lek? Nor suffers from Metkayina syndrome gets completely scrapped shortly before the finale, So’lek only gets crumbs of growth and Ri’nela is at times forgotten about completely. Her development as a character is too off-screen and between the lines for most people to catch it, and I find that sad because she’s such a sweet character when you actually get invested into her.
In the end, Frontiers of Pandora’s story feels like a good joke with all the necessary setup but only half-delivered punchline. I had very reasonable expectations and a lot of them were not fulfilled. This project is definitely miles better than whatever Ubisoft has been releasing in these last years, but I really hope that the DLCs will expand on the story further.
Verdict on the campaign; 7 out of 10. The setup and the beginning of the story were just perfect, but in the end, the characters didn’t get the treatment they deserved. Thank you for reading.

hey, i know you’re na’vi link so i wanted to ask something. i’m questioning na’vi kin right now but can’t talk about it on my main blog because one of my friends follows me. they know about my alterhumanity and i post about it on that blog. however, i am white. very white. i’ve seen some people say that na’vi kin is cultural appropriation? i’m worried my alterhuman friends will try to accuse me of cultural appropriation if i confirm this kintype. any advice?
Okay, well, first off, I'm also white, so let's get that out of the way. However I have had this conversation with and have heard the opinions of Native American people with both opinions, so I can pass on my conclusions from that conversation, and if other people have opinions they want to add I welcome them to, especially Indigenous folks of course.
Thing number one: if it's not a choice, it can't be morally wrong. End of. You can't apply morality to things that aren't choices. You can engage with it in moral vs immoral ways, but simply having an identity that you didn't choose cannot be immoral.
Now obviously that doesn't apply to me, and it may or may not apply to you, so here's the rest of it:
Someone who's Na'vikin/link isn't claiming to be Indigenous here and now. We're not claiming to have direct experience with those struggles or the same amount of voice as Indigenous people do with regards to them. Na'vi are similar to and based on Indigenous people, but they aren't actually Indigenous people.
The Na'vi aren't based on any one Indigenous culture - although the Metkayina are much more heavily based on the Maori than anything else, the other clans we've seen aren't as specific, and are intentionally a mish-mash of dozens of Indigenous cultures. So... who is allowed to be Na'vikin/link, exactly? If the answer is "only people from the culture they're based on," then the real answer is no one. And about that:
This is really just a variant on the old "is kinning outside your race problematic" argument, and we came to a community-agreed-upon conclusion on that years ago: no. For a lot of reasons, including the above, and also the fact that if you're saying it's okay to identify as a wolf but not as a character of a different ethnicity than you... does that not imply that it's easier for a white person to connect that deeply with an animal than with a person of color? Is that not pretty damn problematic itself?
As a bonus round, if your answer then becomes "well, I guess you can be Na'vikin/link, but you shouldn't talk about it/engage with it in public": we know that suppressing kintypes is bad for you. We have learned this the hard way - how many stories are out there about how incredibly unhealthy that is for most people? You're now advocating for a known harm in order to avoid a hypothetical one. I don't think that's fair to anyone.
For what it's worth, I do think there are probably ways to engage with being a Na'vi that are appropriative, racist, and weird toward Indigenous people - just like there are plenty of ways to be a fan of the Na'vi that are appropriative, racist, and weird toward Indigenous people. But I don't think being a Na'vi is inherently that way. I don't think it's that hard to be Na'vi and be respectful of real-world Indigenous cultures that the Na'vi have parallels to. As long as you're not claiming to be Indigenous here and now, or have some ~special connection~ to Indigenous cultures because of your Na'vi 'type, or appropriating Indigenous things because they have Na'vi vibes, then I think you're fine.
But, as I said, I'm more than willing to hear other opinions if people have them! Please, add on in the notes. (I also feel like I'm forgetting a major point in my argument as to why it's fine for some reason, but can't get my hands around it, so hopefully I'm wrong and if not you might see an update to this post in the future when I remember. I've got a bit of a headache right now, so I'm a little bleary.)

A beautiful mountain clan Na’vi inspired by the nomadic Tibetan tribe I was reading about the other day. I felt very inspired and here’s a little bit about them
“The nomadic herding tribes that live here are known for the unique traditional style of 108 Braids, a reference to the 108 holy volumes of Tibetan Buddhism.
Once used as a form of communication—to share one’s relationship status or religious affiliation—108 Braids is now also a tribute to the region’s heritage. Once braided, hair is adorned with all manner of earthy ornaments, like pine cones, coral, and turquoise, each woven into the braids to denote a milestone in life.” Vogue

🔥ATACPO Ch. 12 (SNEAK PEAK)🔥
Tumblr media
He remained frozen in fear: a terrible fear that turned his entrails inside out, which deafened Jake to the oncoming screams of a glossy entity, the roaring of the blaze, and the pounding drums in his ears. The only thing that exists, that still has any meaning, is true, unfiltered txopu (fear). Fear embodied in the figure of a gray warrior wearing a royal headdress decorated with leathers splayed out against the wall of raging, red flames.
.
“Now that I have your attention,” the creature—the woman—said, her voice resonant without being loud. “I will ask this only once. Where. Is. Trr’ong?”
.
“Jake has done no wrong, Varang, just as the rest of us have!” Tonowari yelled, struggling against his bindings and paying no heed to the blade held against his neck. “It was never in our minds to hurt the boy! All children live under the Great Mother! They have as much right to live joyously under Her light, the Great Balance shows us this! You would understand this, had you not chosen to throw away your faith! How can you spit out lies when all your People know is anguish and cruelty?! You are the ones that have wronged us! You and your band of demon Na’vi! The Txepìva have torn parents from their children, mates from their loved ones, Na’vi from their clans, just as you did the tawtute’evengan (human boy) from his parents and the Omaticaya! JakeSulì spoke of the bond the boy shared as a child with his own kin! He was one of them! Now he has fallen ill to your lies! Who are you to judge us when you stole—HRRK!”
Tonowari seizes speaking altogether when a single gray hand replaces the blade that was held on his throat. Soon after, his soft breathing takes the form of painful, breathless hacks.
“Is that what he told you?” the woman—Varang—asked coldly, seemingly restraining herself from tightening her grip on the Metka’yina’s neck. “Listen to me very closely, Tonowari. You know nothing about him.”
.
“I do not care if you cannot hear me, but that tawtute’evengan (human boy),” she drew out the words carefully, “the very same you took from me, from my clan; he belongs to us. We are the ones who nurtured him. We are the ones who guided him and showed him the way. One day, you too will realize that we are the ones that saved him.”

As night turned to day and Eywa’s children woke from a plentiful rest, ___ rushed towards where the skyperson was kept and wondered if he has awoken yet ‘he was healed by Tsahìk, everything should be fine, hopefully he is still alive’.
She rounded the corner and came to a stop in the opening of the marui, seeing him laying on the floor, breaths now deep and long, an opposite to when they where fast and shallow mere hours ago. She crept inside light on her feet as to not disturb him, then kneeled by his head, observing the calmness of his expression. ‘’You are a strange one’’ she hummed, whispering in the softest of tones and took notice of his cropped hair, shaking her head and figuring it must be a human style, after all any Na’vi man she has met took pride in their long hair and it was unheard of for it to be so short. ‘do humans not pride their appearance?’
A tight hand on her wrist cut off her thoughts and jerked her blue eyes to meet with amber ‘’you are awake!’’ she smiled in satisfaction, thanking the great mother for his life to be spared from her silly accident the previous night. Quaritch growled low, eyes shooting from one direction to the next until it landed on hers ‘‘where the fuck am i?!’’ He shouted agitated and took notes of any exits just in case he had to bolt.. but where would he go without his banshee? ‘Obviously not far’ he mused ‘i could barely stand on my own ass last night’.
A blink. A twitch of her ears. And a smile stretched across her cheeks ‘’Al’mete’’ she placed her hand upon her chest ‘’my home’’. Miles caught onto the message and his ears folded back, fuck him, he’s in a savage camp in the middle of nowhere. How was he supposed to get back to base now.
Seeing his displeasure ___ pointed out to his leaf wrapped torso ‘’my mother, Tsahìk Nätsa has healed you, you are welcome’’. The man glanced at where his gash was supposed to be and his eyes widened, now just realising he felt no pain at all and blood wasn’t gushing out. ‘What kind of bougie drugs do they have down here. This is some voodoo shit’.
Suddenly giggling was heard from outside the hut, both adults head turned towards the sound, one in alarm and the other in question and they caught sight of two small green figures peaking from the side of the entrance. ‘’what are you two doing? Zaza? Tsyem? Mother said you are forbidden from seeing this man’’
‘’But we have never seen a skyperson sister! We had to see, mother will not allow it but you will, yes?’’ Zaza cheekily smiled, for 12 years old one would figure her brother would start becoming a man by now.
Obviously that is not the case.
___ sighed and made a motion to shoo them away, not risking to face the wrath of Nätsa…again. Besides, Tsyem is too young to be near him, if she got attacked for merely showing kindness then who knows what will happen. ‘’go, and call father. We must have a clan meeting at once’’ the two boys scurried away in a hurry, searching for their father to relay the news.
Quaritch stared as they left, being reminded of his son Spider, part of him wished he was a better father when he was human, if he never ignored Paz as much as he did and was there for his kins childhood, would things have turned out differently? He shook his head and reminded himself Miles Socorro was not his son, they may share the same DNA but Quaritch was a new man now. Different body and mind. He may share the same memories as his former self but he was not human anymore.
‘Do i even belong with human kind?’
He glanced up to the woman and let go of her wrist to sit up further, wincing as he felt the drowsiness and fatigue of losing so much blood. ___ held his back, concerned ‘’be careful, you are weak and have to gather strength’’ her hand got slapped away by a tail.
‘’Don’t touch me‘’ Quaritch hissed, not wanting to be in this place any longer than he had too, but in order to get back to Bridgehead he had to heal up. Alright, maybe he’ll go along with this until he’s ready to move. Infiltrate from the inside. Gain their trust. Then strike when they least expect it.  Yea. Sounds like a plan.
A horn sounded from the outside, the sound travelling around the village and alerting the Metkayina residents. ___stood up quickly and tried to get the man to do the same ‘’come, we must see the Olo’eyktan’’ she slowly walked towards the entrance to the murui and looked back hurriedly ‘’we must not keep him waiting’’
Miles felt alarmed, the Olo’eyktan? Shit he might as well succumb to his injuries now. He was not looking forward to seeing the leader of the clan especially when he is alone, vulnerable and in no position to fight. He stood up though when the woman walked back and tugged his arm, practically dragging him out to where the villagers are situated.
There was so many of them, men woman and children alike. Some where on those alligator-things like the lady had and some where on those skinny-necked creatures he killed at the other islands he was at.. what where they called.. imu? Iku? Ah well.
As they got to the centre Miles was keenly aware of how exposed his body was, he wasn’t dressed in his gear, but wearing a typical Na’vi loincloth ‘If you could even call these useless piece of strings clothes, they hardly cover my dick’. They then stopped in front of a Metkayina male, as tall as Quaritch stood up to and wore much more flashy garments and was tattooed up the arms, face and stomach. His expression was serious and his grip on his staff tight. Next to him stood a smaller woman, with a shell covering her forehead and a scowl painted on her green face. ‘well they’re happy to see me’. He figured these where the Olo’eyktan and Tsahìk, who else would wear this much jewellery?
___ made the motion with her hands from her forehead, greeting her father and mother in respect ‘’I see you both’’ then nudged the man to do the same, which he did clumsily and with the most horrible pronunciation she has ever heard ‘like a child’ she mused. A few people around her chuckled and his ears downturned ever so slightly in embarrassment, not used to being laughed at.
‘’why are you here demon’’ a voice boomed across the hut where they were situated. Quaritch did not understand a word ‘I should have paid attention to those stupid lessons more’ he grunted, he did enjoy learning from Spider, but with the situation they were in it was hard to focus and take it in properly. ‘’father, if I may, I will speak for him’’ ___ softly spoke, glancing at the man then to her father who nodded. No point talking to someone who cannot understand.
‘’I was hunting last night when I saw him flying on an ikran, I caught him and saw him wounded. I had to bring him back home, skyperson or not father he needed help, Eywa has spoken’’ the Tsahik hissed at both of them, not liking how her daughter mentioned her great mother, how could she put demon and deity in the same sentence? ‘’why must you care for someone who has killed hundreds of Na’vi, a man in a false body, he has no place with our people’’ she spoke out, despite the fact she healed him just hours ago, she did that for ___, not from the kindness of her heart.
‘’Nätsa, please. Our daughter is Tsakarem, under your guidance she interprets the will of the great mother, she sees and she acts on what needs to be done’’ the Olo’eyktan spoke out, listening well to his first born. ___ nodded in thanks while Nätsa only stood back and raised her chin.
‘’What is his name’’. The young girl blinked and realised she does not know, after last nights incident she never bothered to ask for one. She didn’t do it on purpose it must’ve left her mind. She turned to the man next to him, ‘’who are you?’’.
Quaritch blinked.
___ sighed and pointed to herself ‘’___ te Nguve Nätsa’ite’’ then she pointed to him. Miles got the hint and cleared his throat ‘’Miles Quaritch’’. Short, straight and to the point.
‘’Miles Quaritch…’’ the Olo’eyktan tested the foreign name on his tongue slowly and looked to his mate with an eyebrow raised. The Tsahìk in question looked at her husband and softened her face, her daughter was guided by Eywa, there was a reason he is here, she figured if the great mother brought him here then he must live here. She slowly blinked at Zawsak, both silently coming to an agreement together. ‘’He will stay. Daughter, teach him the ways of the water, he is your responsibility, make sure he heals well’’
___ smiled and thanked her parents, while many of the clan disagreed heavily of such a dangerous man in their home, they could not go against their leaders orders, after all how could they disagree with the great mothers will. The woman turned her head to Miles and grabbed his arm, leading him to her marui.
Tumblr media
‘’so…I’m just ‘sposed to sleep here with you? Well shit darlin’ take me out to dinner first’’ the recom smirked and stared at the singular hammock occupying the space. ‘Maybe Sully was right to go after Na’vi woman, they are as feisty as they are gorgeous…’
‘’you will sleep over there, we are to have separate hammocks. I would like for you to live somewhere else but you are my responsibility and therefore under my watch’’ ___ glared, taking notice of the smirk gracing his features and pointing to the opposite side of the room where she is yet to place the other hammock. ‘’It is traditional to sleep with a mate and a family, you are neither’’ she walked over to where he would be sleeping and lifted the scrunched bed from the floor to hang across the poles in her marui.
‘’’you know I cant understand you, right sweetheart?’’
___ turned when she was finished and understood his confusion, Na’vi expression is easy to read. She pointed to herself then her hammock, ‘’me, sleep there’’ then pointed to him and his hammock ‘’you, sleep there’’.
‘’slepp’’
‘’sleep’’
‘’sleep’’
___ grinned and nodded clapping at the achievement ‘hopefully the language will be easy to teach’. Miles tail swung, liking the learning. It took him back to the days where he was a cadet, learning drills and new skills for the first time. The thrill and experience was something he’d never forget.
He wondered when he’d be able to learn how to tame one of those reptile-things like ___, in the battle with Jake Sully he saw many adult Metkayina fly them and figured it would be easy to tame, they where called skimwing if he could remember from the scientists, which encouraged him to ask ‘’hey, uh, when would I be able to fly the creature you had? Uhh when..tsruk..bond?’’
The woman tilted her head, only catching the three words, one of which was questionable. ‘Did he mean tsurak? Why would he want to bond with one of those? And so soon’.
‘’you are not ready. Only warriors can tame them. Tsurak are temperamental’’ she emphasised the animals name, hoping he’d catch on they are not called tsruk. Quaritch, only understanding bits and pieces stood in silence to try and form a sentence in return, he hated not being able to communicate properly ‘I feel weak’.
‘’Tsyem! Come lets see sister. I want to see the skyman’’
‘’But mother said we should not…’’ two little boys stumbled through the entry way and panted, seeming to have run all the way to their elder sibling’s murui.
‘’what are you two doing here? Zaza you know not to push Tsyem around, hes only six’’ ___ picked her younger brother up onto her hip and stared down Zaza, he would make a great hunter one day, if only he would listen well enough to his elders. Quaritch blinked at the boys, recognising them from this morning.
‘’we wanted to see ‘Mials Quoritx’ we will be safe with you so don’t worry sister!’’ Zaza turned to the blue Na’vi and examined him, taking note of his skinny tail and running up to it giggling and squatting to get a better angle, it was unlike their ones, which where thicker and more sloped to swim better. His also moved funny, it curled and swished more than theirs could and caused Zaza to laugh more.
‘’Hey!’’ The man turned as his tail was tugged and glared at the kid. He had no problem hurting children, he has done such to Jakes’ after all. The boy, Zaza, as he remembered ___ saying ran back to his front to introduce himself.
‘’I am Zaza te Nguve Zawsak’itan and that is my little brother Tsyem te Nguve Zawsak’itan’’ he pointed to himself then to Tsyem. Then pointed to Miles ‘’you are Mials Quoritx’’.
The man blinked, at least he understood all that. ‘Crazy long ass names they have..’ he thought. But he couldn’t help but be agitated at how his was said ‘’it’s ‘Miles Quaritch’ kid. Miles’’ he emphasised until the boy got it right. It shouldn’t be hard after all.
___ put a hand to Tsyem’s head and spoke in a warning tone, noticing Mile’s angry swishing tail ‘’Zaza do not agitate the skyperson’’ Zaza glowered and walked over to his sister to hold her leg, he may be Na’vi but he is much smaller than her and has much to grow for the future. ‘’come Miles I will teach you the way of water’’.
And with that she beckoned him out of the murui and towards the shoreline ‘hopefully I haven’t made a mistake’ they both thought.

Also. Sorry not sorry my hyperfixation is running rampant.
If ANYONE has a Na’vi oc (avatar) especially from afop that you want made into a kin / introject flag, send an ask with a photo of them!
(This is called me begging because I want to make something avatar related -🦇)

I saw Avatar Way of the Water (spoilers)
Let’s get a few things straight.
The goddamn death flags on my boy Neteyam who was the older brother who has to look after his rambunctious and mischievous younger brother. We’ve seen it before but goddamn did I wish it didn’t happen. The fact that one of the last scenes was Jake and Neytiri visiting him through Eywa.
The way Jake just kept taking all his stress out on Lo’ak because of his desperation to keep everyone safe and feeling everything spiralling out of control to the point he doesn’t see his son for who he is and what he is doing and the fact that beyond the start of the film, he follows almost every single order his father gives him, bar one’s that impact people he cares for… but then at the end when Payakan helps Lo’ak and Jake reach the surface, he finally looks over at his son and sees him. Not their circumstances. Not the consequences of their situation. But his son.
Are we trying to imply Kiri is Jesus??? Like Grace’s avatar is randomly pregnant when the last we see her, she’s with Eywa??? Bc she doing something psychic…
First movie was heavy on the colonialism. We continue that through line in the further plundering of natural resources and destruction of habitat… and the obviously blatant disparaging of the whaling business…
Love that the Metkayina were heavily inspired by the Māori culture… the tattoos on both the Metkayina and the tulkun, to whom the Metkayina have strong kin ties… giving me Whale Rider vibes. Which is fun because Tonowari, the chief of the Metkayina is played by Cliff Curtis who is in Whale Rider.
kinda hilarious to me then that the main harpoon dude is Australian. Glad Payakan ripped that POS arm off as retribution.
Neytiri is a death goddess. Like bro when she mounts her ikran after Neteyam’s death, her eyes and stance just screams she’s out for blood. And was v worried she was gonna kill Spider. I hope that’s a relationship that improves because I don’t want Spider to have any reason to be crawling back to Quaritch bc Neytiri is shunning him.
I also really appreciate Ronal. Badass pregnant lady. Tonowari goes “you should stay” Ronal snarls back “I will ride!” Ain’t nothing gonna stop her!
Finally. Tuk is baby. Protect my snarling lil child at all costs.
There were a lot of familiar beats to this film story wise, and it did feel like one big set up to the follow up movies. The narration was a bit much bc you can’t explain it as Jake talking into the video logs anymore so it just got inserted a few too many times. And yes it felt a touch too long but we also barely spent anytime just immersing in the new part of Pandora we had just been introduced to. Especially after we so abruptly ran away from the Omaticaya and Jake stepped down as chief. I was genuinely upset when they stopped the montage of them learning the ways of the Metkayina to take in more of Quaritch terrorising villages and hunting tulkun.
But overall I think it was a very well done film. The ending hit hard. There were scenes that were just gorgeous to look at. I loved that different Na’vi have evolved differently to other Na’vi depending on their environment. But you see the similarities in culture, you see that they still have the spirit tree which ties them to the Great Mother, Eywa. So you’re eased into this new place along with the Sully’s because there are some things that are familiar, even if we’re no longer travelling through the trees. I’m curious to see how Jesus!Kiri becomes a thing. I hope no more deaths in the Sully clan because Neteyam was already too much.

With the new movie, Avatar, Way of Water, recently being released, there is something I want to address.
No one that I know of is really talking about this, but it needs to be said. White people, I don’t give a flying fuck what you think, the very idea of ‘na’vi kin’ is racist as fuck. Full stop. I don’t give a rats ass if you feel you were a dragon or a faerie in past life, none of my business. But you don’t get to touch the Na’vi. They were explicitly based on real world indigenous peoples in an attempt to dumb colonialism down to level where colonizers could understand it.
Na’vi cultures, philosophies, modes of dress, spirituality, are all based off of indigenous cultures of Mikinaak Minis, Abya Ayala, Australia, Polynesia, and Africa. Whatever the fuck you think, this is not a thing you, as a colonizer, get to fuck with.
The amount of cultural appropriation and insensitivity around this bullshit is getting tiresome. If you are a white person living in a colonized place or a place benefiting white people as a result of white colonialism and are appropriating these aesthetics and ideas because you ‘feel a connection’, then you are the fucking problem. You are not Na’vi. You are a plastic shaman, a nasty ass pretendian, and a weird colonizer living out their ‘savage’ fantasy. For some reason, you feel entitled to indigenous cultures because it appeals to you.
Behaving like this makes you the problem. You are an active participant in colonialism. You are disregarding the real world peoples this franchise profits off of. And I’ll bet my ass you haven’t reckoned with your settler/white privilege or done anything to materially help real indigenous peoples who are suffering as badly as these blue people you love so much. You are appropriating indigenous cultures and identities because it makes you feel special. Stop. You think you feel a connection to this, but you are just another colonizer swooping in and profiting from indigeneity while benefitting from indigenous oppression. Somehow, dispute your obsession with the Na’vi, you managed to fucking misunderstanding the basic narrative that the film was trying to tell (however badly that narrative was mismanaged). You, as a white person, have no right to these things. Hands off.

(English translation:)
What is it to be Na’vi?
It is connection - with Na’vi, with animals, with plants, with the world. A hundred threads, no, a thousand, between a thousand creatures, Like stars that spread across the night sky, Divided yet together, parts of one thing. It is to know that you belong, No matter what happens, no matter where you go.
It is survival, in a world beautiful and cruel. Pandora gives us all we need to live, But also gives these things to all her children. Sometimes you are the gift to another creature. The Great Mother does not do favors for one child more than another. Her children survive by their own strength and intelligence. As we live in Eywa, so we die in Eywa. To remove her teeth and claws would be to destroy her.
It is to live together with all creatures. To bond and to See, To commune with Eywa and with the world. Never take more than you need. Respect all creatures as your siblings.
It is grace and strength, running and leaping, Blue skin, eight fingers, Ears and tail in order to speak, Bioluminescence to glow like the world, Kuru to See it.
What is it to be Na’vi? How does one become Na’vi? I reach for you, O Great Mother, Show your child how to return home.
