Eldritch Tech Support: The Algorithm of Chaos is worth reading

This is a novella that is made up of the prompts that I wrote over the last year or so. The main novella is 16 chapters of Aeth (they/them, gender non conforming, tech support, magic user, priest with no god) dealing with the trials and tribulations of helping out with the technological problems of: Spider Gods, a perfectly normal family with a normal computer and a normal house with a small god inside, their impossible belief and childhood nightmare that wishes to consume them, and a crush on their bestest friend. Lyta (she/her, also tech support, has magic based on emotions and virtue which is a surprise for you later on) who is dealing with much the same things including a big ol crush on their bestest friend Aeth.

Throughout the story those two will have to deal with the usual nonsense of their jobs as well as the mysterious new app Swwarm that seems to be everywhere and is designed solely with the algorithm in mind that thinks all engagement is good engagement even if you report a video for inciting violence. You interacted with it so you must want more of it. Where did the Swwarm come from, and what is it for, why is it doing the things that it is doing?

What Do You Get Out of this Novella?

The Algorithm of Chaos is 16 chapters long, expanded and edited from the ones that I posted before. There are two bonus stories that I have not posted anywhere else: an epilogue to the main story, and a side story about Ji the Exterminator and Lyta's ex-girlfriend. The epilogue was an excuse for me to write some Aeth and Lyta because I like them. And the story Ghostchains is about the Exterminator Ji who is terrible and I couldn't stop thinking about them and wanted to see what they were like out in the world of The Dead Lands fighting a summoned "artificial" "intelligence".

You also get the original prompts that started the whole thing, edited and made a bit more coherent. The whole thing is about 119 pages long and is available as a PDF download for you to do whatever you want with.

so, with rt having their anniversary on april 1st, they decided this year to celebrate for 20 whole weeks for their 20th anniversary. with one episode a week on fridays starting in march and ending in july, they've released one-off mystery episodes of their shows and products that have been cancelled, put on hiatus, or otherwise ended naturally. the exceptions are on the spot and camp camp, the former of which is coming back later this year, and the latter having a new season premiere later next year in 2024, both having been confirmed at rtx 2023.

Lesbian Found Family Visual Novel 'Good Luck Baby!' Released

On March 6, Noodletub Games released its new Yuri game Good Luck Baby! on Steam and itch.io. The all-ages mystery kinetic visual novel was funded via a successful Kickstarter campaign last year.

Set in 2002 Japan, Good Luck Baby! follows high schooler Hifumi Tanaka, who seems cursed with misfortune. Thankfully, her luck starts to turn when she meets Kasumi Itou, a sunny delinquent with a heart of gold. But just as their mutual crush begins to bloom, the girls find a surprising sight awaiting them on Kasumi's doorstep... a baby with wings and a halo!

Together, Hifumi, Kasumi, and their friends must embark on the journey of a lifetime to solve the mystery behind the baby and evade the clutches of the ruthless Empress Metis.

The developer describes the game as "A heartwarming, comedic, and emotionally-driven Yuri visual novel about love, found family, and saving the world. With an unforgettable cast, dramatic romance, and laughs galore."

The game includes 13 CG illustrations, 36 unlockable extra scenes, dynamic background, multiple Yuri couples, and a jukebox featuring over 70 tracks of the game's soundtrack. Good Luck Baby also features two bonus routes, "Spring 1902" which tells a dramatic tale of two women defying fate together, and "Winter 200X" which is an alternative timeline in which the villainess Empress Metis takes control of Earth.

At 150,000 total words, the developers estimate that the game includes 16 hours worth of content. It is available now for $14.99 on Steam and itch.io.

Noodletub Games is an indie duo consisting of two queer women, C.S. Lowell (writer) and OSENA (programmer). Both lifelong fans of video games and immersive stories, their goal is to create interactive fiction that anyone can enjoy. They worked on this title with artist @mpmrpjb. Good Luck Baby! is Noodletub's third game, proceeded by The Ghost of You (2018) and the adult visual novel Love Bakudan (2021).

Sonic Superstars

A new teaser was shown promoting the new Sonic Superstars and LEGO collaboration, featuring LEGO Eggman as a pre-order bonus.

Following the presentation, SEGA dropped new renders and descriptions for all the characters featured in the upcoming game.

Trip: Not much is known yet about Trip, the mysterious girl first encountered by Fang on the Northstar Islands. While a bit clumsy, Trip is heavily armored and has been enlisted by Fang and Dr. Eggman to protect and guide them around the wonders of this uncharted region.

Fang the Hunter (formerly Fang the Sniper): Fang is a springy jerboa that is light on his feet and is always looking for the next big score. A bounty hunter by trade, Fang the Hunter has been known by many different names over the years, likely due to his “WANTED” status with the authorities. Always trying to stay one step ahead, he’s constantly modifying and upgrading his primary mode of transportation, the Marvelous Queen.

Sonic Prime

A new extended clip of the upcoming second content drop of Sonic Prime was previewed. It's scheduled to make its debut on Netflix in 13 July.

Sonic Dash and Speed Battle

A new Classic Super Sonic skin will be joining SEGA HARDlight's flagship titles Speed Battle and Dash soon.

To coincide with the release of the 2nd season of Sonic Prime, characters from Prime will be playable in Dash, including Boscage Sonic, Rusty Rose, and Tails Nine.

S-Fire Sonic Statue: Pre-order the new Sonic & Shadow statue today with augmented reality compatibility.

Sonic has officially announced a collaboration with the popular shoe brand Crocs. As reported back in late May: it's available in adult and kids sizes, for $49.99 USD and $44.99 USD respectively. Besides the shoes themselves, Crocs will be offering Jibbitz charms. They will be coming in a pack of 5 with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and Shadow, offered at $19.99 USD.

Other things of note: a Sonic-themed Playmate cooler from Igloo, a themed guitar from ESP Guitars, and Sonic and Shadow Cable Guy figures.

Sonic Origins Plus

With Origins Plus out, SEGA released a new launch trailer.

With more content than ever before, and a new premium physical version, Sonic Origins Plus is the definitive way to play 16 classic Sonic games in one timeless collection.

LEGO

SEGA officially previewed the Death Egg Robot set, now scheduled for a release in August.

As reported via a leak earlier this month, it contains a Sonic mini figure accompanied with his speed sphere mechanism and the launcher to it; and the Death Egg Robot piloted by Eggman, and Cubot.

Samba de Amigo: Party Central

As reported, the upcoming Samba De Amigo: Party Central will be featuring the world's famous hedgehog as a guest character.

The game will feature two iconic Sonic tunes, Escape From the City and Fist Bump, alongside the City Escape stage itself.

IDW Sonic the Hedgehog

Today's Central presentation made a brief mention of IDW Publishing's upcoming one-shot issue for the Sonic the Hedgehog comic book series: Amy Rose's 30th Anniversary.

My introduction post!

Hi everyone! Louis here...I decided to finally introduce myself better and talk about who I am and why this blog exists...as well to tell where you can find more of me and when, so without any further a do let's begin!

My name is Louis but I also use Tallulah for female name and Mits for non-binary, I'm 16, so in resume you can call me any of these 3, I'm genderfluid mostly fluctuating between male, non-binary and demi girl or agender, but I can also use the xenogender pronuns of crow/ crow self, ghost/ghost self and raven/raven, but any is fine self due to feeling my gender is heavily connected to these things, plus I'm also a bit of a musegender. I'm autistic level one of support, I'm panromantic feeling only emotional and romantic attraction (rarely) to people and ace in terms of not feeling ANY sexual attraction despite understanding it in more logical and science terms (with slight disgust of the idea of ME engaging in anything sexual).

I'm a small twitch streamer as well with the goal of creating a safe space for everyone no matter the community, race, gender, sexuality, country etc, my chat are called crows and I stream every Thursday, Tuesday, sometimes Wednesday and weekends on 4 PM BRT!!

I do streams playing games like Omori, Osu, Minecraft Hardcore, coffee talk, etc (other games), I also draw, organize stuff and cosplay most streams! I also bake in stream, my main focus being Mcyt community. I'm slightly chaotic so if you like Philza, Ranboo, Tubbo, Tommy, Aimsey, Emirichu , Jaiden Animations, Tecno, Cellbit and so on you will definitely like me!!

My streams have the goal to be safe, cozy, nice, fun and if I make at least one person happy and smile because of it, then I'm happy!! I also plan on being a therapist one day so yeah!

One of the other things is that I want to be like an older figure to people that follow me, like the older friend you go for advice, or an older sibling or a parental figure that adopts and helps you, a popular nickname for me in my chat being calling me father, and you all are my children, my crow friends and fledglings to look after!!

I know many languages like Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, English, I'm currently learning Japanese and Russian as well!! So these languages are kinda allowed in chat! But English is prioritized.

I'm also learning how to do animatics and plan on posting them on YouTube as well with other videos, if you have interest I could show my ideas. I'm also POSSIBLY a therian (crow), I'm a fictionkin of Tallulah, C!Tommy, C!Philza, C!ghostbur but that's a subject for another day.

I'm also an writer, artist and so on, playing ukulele, keyboard and singing, I write novels, manga and music, currently writing 2 music EP I plan on releasing in the future. Not only that but I play RPGs!!

Some other random things about me:

• my favorite color is purple

• I'm allergic to shrimp

• I have 3 cats (and plan on having a ferret)

• I want to live in Canada or UK one day

• my favorite drinks are tea, water, orange juice and milkshakes

• my favorite foods are Brazilian stroganoff, lasagna, gnocchi, okonomiyaki, shoyu and misso lamen, missoshiru, rice.

• I collect mangas, figures, wigs, dice, trinkets, acrylic stands, books and many other things

• My favorite flower is the lily of the valley, my favorite animals being crows, ferrets sea bunnies and bats

• I'm a taurus and earth rat as well as INFP

• I love sweets and hate spicy food

• I'm atheist

I'm a big fan of the ouji lolita fashion, gothic lolita, frutiger aero, Y2K, dream core, gore lolita, goblincore, scene kid and gothic aesthetics and subcultures. Well, I think that's what I had to say...with time I'll update this post and add more and more stuff so always come by and check it just in case! Well see you all my crows!!

As a bonus, here a picture of me randomly since my face isn't that of a mystery, I only use a face mask sometimes and don't really care for hiding it away since I believe sooner or later I would have to reveal it or some asshole would doxx me and show my face like it happens to so many people, so I'm stepping foward and doing it myself now :D :

the perfect lannister son that would have been the greatest bane of baby lady lannister’s existence

as for everyone’s least favorite incel…. much love and respect to this character and his stans but i really must confess that i treated shadow and bone as a vehicle for ben barnes and as background noise. i think archie renaux would eat as victor 😭

he hits all the bullet points for victor’s physical appearance (brawny, older than lady l and aemond, handsome, + the signature ears of house florent lol) and i think he’d kill a role where a knight technically doesn’t break any rules of chivalry and is the epitome of all the downsides of knight culture

Welcome to Part 16 of the Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to introduce gamers to, usually, Indie games and to provide commentary and feedback on the games for educational purposes! For this episode, I used some of the demos I had grabbed from the Cooking Fest and Cozy Quest Steam Events! I think. I grabbed a bunch during those events, and outside of them, so I don't know anymore…

Today, I played 4 demos for your enjoyment:

Explore this modern magical world alone or in local co-op mode with friends and family, customize your character, solve mysteries, and find powerful artifacts.

The verdict? Via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich": Cornucopia®'s art style is ABSOLUETLY adorable! If you've been here a while, you know I LOVE pixel art! AND the tutorial felt like a tutorial. And was, also, a bit of a time waster. And made no sense, since we couldn't see the passage of time. On the way back from the hospital, we are asked to clear the roadblocks. How long were we in the hospital that we needed to clear up growing bushes in the middle of the road on the way back? Why was there a pile of giant rocks in the middle of the road? Why weren't folks in town keeping the roads clear? The tutorial could have, and should have, been done on the farm itself. The best part about it was the dog! And the mailman has a little chick following him around! Hipster Café gets bonus points for being unique. The fact they incorporate promoting your café on social media is brilliant! HOWEVER, it needs to provide more guidance. Figuring out what customers need can not be left to symbols. And, when we click on them to fill their coffee order, what they want needs to appear in the "Coffee Creation" screen. Being expected to remember is an unnecessary addition to the cognitive load. The art style is simplistically cozy. We could also say cozily simplistic. The Research mechanic was a bit overboard. What made me keep playing as long as I did, however, was the obvious jab at capitalism. We are specifically told we were able to get the café started with a trust fund. Brilliant! Let's Café was so damn cute! And, I didn't mention it in the video, it was another of those "make your own recipes" games that had me leaning on Maid Café on Electric Street for ideas. I would never have thought to make the different types of lattes, which lead to the different types of chai, otherwise. Also, their lack of a tutorial and throwing me in was ACTUALLY effective. The initial "here's what's going on" needs a font size increase, though. If I, with my glasses on, had a hard time reading it, I can imagine how others might feel about it. Also, this is a café, why isn't coffee ALWAYS being sold? Other than that, it was a lot of fun! And it looked like I could keep playing the demo; I believe I will! Spells & Secrets' art style was impressive, but the tutorial not only felt like a tutorial, it also wasted my time. And we are in the most irresponsible school ever. Why would you leave a first-year student (I wonder what the inspiration for the game was) to deal with intruders? Why wouldn't a professor, after finding a student, not teleport them to safety? And why would only certain items be able to be lifted with telekinesis? There were entire sections that could have been skipped. One thing I will give it, in regards to the intruders, was finding out I could use telekinesis to hit another enemy with them and kill them both. It was a happy accident. Why wouldn't any of the professors have a griffin's feather? Why would the teachers be perfectly comfortable sending you back into the castle to find the rest of the students? Why don't I have a party of professors going along with me? This game makes no sense. Hades and Harry Potter were combined horribly. Looks good, though. Work was clearly put into that. Overall, I want Cornucopia® and Let's Café, and they are on my wishlist. As a reminder, Cornucopia®, Hipster Café, and Let's Café are all in Early Access while Spells & Secrets is available.

Saturday, November 2 —  Family Ties One-Shot: Write a one-shot revolving around your character’s family, include 3 family members minimum. (This can include whatever your character’s definition of family is.)

Sunday, November 3 — Short and Sweet One-Shot: Write ten short-short stories of no more than a paragraph long (can star one or multiple characters.)

Monday, November 4 —  Instagram Stories: Post five IG stories from a single day of your character’s life. This can be photos of their activities and their friends, but also memes, news, funny videos, and other types of posts! [Kim Possible's Instagram Stories on Thursday 21st November]

Tuesday, November 5 — Community Flyer: Make a flyer for a community event that could possibly happen somewhere in town. These can be pre-established or make up something new! Wednesday, November 6 —  How Do You Measure, Measure a Year?: Make a playlist of ten songs from the same year that in some way relate to your character. Was it music that would have been popular when they were a freshman in college, or maybe the year they were born?

Thursday, November 7 — Business Savvy Thread: Plot a thread that takes place in one of Swynlake’s businesses with a mun that you don’t currently have a thread with.! [Gymtroductions || Kiq]

Friday, November 8 — 160 Characters or Less: Write a story using either Tweets or entirely in texts (or some sort of DM) between characters. (This is a one-shot prompt, not something you do with others.) [Texts Between Kim and her Mom]

Saturday, November 9 — Background NPC: Write about a moment of your character’s life from the perspective of an NPC character.

Sunday, November 10 — Five Times X, One Time Y: Five times your character did a thing and one time … they didn’t (or vice versa). Get creative with what this means, but structure it in that same manner. 

Monday, November 11 — The Comment Section: Write ten comments your character has left around the Internet— perhaps a YouTube video of a song that means something to them, a TikTok that they got into a fight in the comments of, a recipe that they tested from FoodNetwork.com… the sky’s the limit! Can be from the same site or different ones.

Tuesday, November 12 –  SwynRPVision: Create your own TV show, book, video game, piece of media, etc. that would exist in the SwynRPuniverse which does not exist in ours. Write a description, make a graphic, write a script or do whatever you want. [Mysteries of Time TV Show]

Wednesday, November 13 — What’s in Your Closet? Come up with fifteen significant clothing items from your character’s wardrobe/life and describe them in detail. Feel free to combine these into full outfits! [Kim Possible's Closet]

Thursday, November 14 — Neighborly Plotting: Plot a thread with your neighbor(s) using the demographic sheet. If you live somewhere like the Woods, where there are no house numbers, headcanon who you live near! [One of These Days || Krim]

Friday, November 15 — Needledrops: The Playlist! Ever want to score a plot like it’s a big moment in a TV show? Pick five songs that you would use as a needledrop for a big RP plot moment – can be ones you were directly involved with or ones you simply admired from afar! For instance, Vidia stealing the crown could be set to “you should see me in a crown” by Billie Eilish. The fall of the Order, with the Knightley family house burning, could be set to “No Mercy” by PVRIS. Write a short description for each. 

Saturday, November 16 — Crack!ship AU: Write a crack!ship au. This should be a one shot of any characters in the roleplay, yours or someone else’s! Definition of a crackship: seriously this shit can’t happen but in an alternate universe. Sunday, November 17 — Choose Your Own Swyn AU: Do you have a dream AU-week event? Create your own! Make a graphic, write an opening blurb, and create a sample bio for one of your characters. [example of a past event, you do NOT have to do the whole thing, but this has the graphic/opening blurb] 

Monday, November 18 — The Character Tour: Create a travel itinerary featuring 10 significant locations from your character’s life (can be in the same town/city, country, or even around the world!). You can do this in a saved Google Map too.

Tuesday, November 19 — All You Can Eat Buffet! Pick five of these menu categories and come up with a significant food associated with your character and write about their experience with each one: appetizer, soup, salad, beverage, main course, dessert, breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, midnight snack, side dish, cocktail. Images welcome

Wednesday, November 20 – Spotify Wrapped Playlist: What’s your character been listening to this year? Is it Top 40, classic rock, or maybe just rain sounds to help them sleep? Create a playlist of your character’s top 10 songs from this year. Bonus points if you include any other fun Spotify Wrapped tidbits– top artists, top genres, maybe a specific day that they played one song over and over. Have fun! Thursday, November 21 — Back to the Future Thread: Write either a flashback or a flashforward thread with another mun! (This could be an existing connection or a connection that could possibly happen 10 years in the future! Should be 10+/- years in the past/future.) 

Friday, November 22 — Call Me Beep Me: Your character’s phone! List ten contacts, the last five messages, four apps, and screensavers! [Kim Possible's Phone]

Saturday, November 23 — The Final Labor: Based on the final task for the labors, write an AU featuring all your characters in a role. Choose an AU, set out a list of goals for yourself based on tropes within that AU (ex. a red shirt has to die if you’re doing Star Trek or someone in the group gets bitten by a zombie and doesn’t tell the rest if you’re doing an apocalypse), then write to your heart’s content! To count, each character must have a role and your tropes must be laid out beforehand.

Sunday, November 24 — Which Character Are You?: Make a UQuiz for people to determine which of your characters they are. 

Monday, November 25 — SWYNRP Memes: Create memes (there are websites where you can do this) about characters, places, or things that happen in Swynlake! (10 minimum) 

Tuesday, November 26 — Character #Inspo: Find five existing fictional characters who remind you of your characters (or who inspired your characters). (So, Anya could either do five characters for Holley, or one character for Ting, one for Alana, one for Al, one for Phil, one for Holley, or any other permutation). 

Post one piece of inspiration from each character (A gif, a quote, a video clip, a screenshot) and write a little bit about how that character relates to your own. If you’re having a hard time thinking of characters like yours, check out this quiz!

Wednesday, November 27 —  Wild Card! Today’s your day to get creative and do something different! Show off a talent that you wish you had more opportunity to show, or just write something that doesn’t fit any of the other prompts!

Thursday, November 28 — Aesthetic for a Friend: Make three different aesthetics for at least three different characters (and at least three different muns)! [Tammy's Aesthetics for a Friend]

Friday, November 29 — Wordy Web-Weaving: Pick a word that is significant to your character or their story and create a web-weaving aesthetic based around that word’s definition. Feel free to incorporate your own writing, others’ writing, and/or media that inspires your writing. Read more about web-weaving here.

Top 5 Reasons to Read

1. We’ll Never Tell is the kind of YA thriller that keeps me coming back to the genre!

2. The tension ratchets up slowly from page one until I was flipping pages so quickly I had to go back to make sure I didn’t miss something.

3. Wendy Heard (can’t believe this is my first book by her!) had me bouncing back and forth with theories about what was going on the entire time to the big reveal, which I love when an author can do.

4. In addition to the thriller aspect, We’ll Never Tell also tenderly examines grief and the impact of trauma, specifically the loss of a parent, on a child and those around her.

5. The book also explores generational trauma and the idea of whether we are destined to repeat the past mistakes of our ancestors.

6. Bonus reason: I absolutely loved the connection to old Hollywood (even though “old” in this case is, like, 3 years before I was born, lol) and the inclusion of news clippings and letters!

RATING: 5 stars!
