✩🕯️📜Series Review:
Core concepts
⋆ The Atlas Six - Physics
⋆ The Atlas Paradox - Psychology
⋆ The Atlas Complex - Philosophy
“The Atlas” series is so much more than dark academia or romance. This series studies what happens to human beings when they are promised access to infinite knowledge and power. It is about how quickly we turn on each other and abandon our own morals to gain. said knowledge and power. Each installment blew me away as I watched Blake’s six protagonists gradually find and/or destroy themselves. My mind was continuously expanded by her prose and it made me question my every decision. It’s a soul crushing read, but perhaps also a necessary one.

Hard Case Crime, February 2012
The year is 1977, and America is finally getting over the nightmares of Watergate and Vietnam and the national hangover that was the 1960s. But not everyone is ready to let it go.
Not aging comedian Koo Davis, friend to generals and presidents and veteran of countless USO tours to buck up American troops in the field. And not the five remaining members of the self-proclaimed People's Revolutionary Army, who've decided that kidnapping Koo Davis would be the perfect way to bring their cause back to life...

Ad break <3 Breaking Chains
I thought I’d indulge in a shameless (almost) self-promotion and let you know that I’m in the middle of writing a very ambitious Helluva Boss fanfiction called Breaking Chains.
Octavia’s gone. Stolas is spiraling—his pride trampled, his health deteriorating, and the sense of utter helplessness dragging him to rock bottom. Blitzø, meanwhile, isn’t doing much better—burdened by the unexpected role of caretaker and haunted by the fear of letting his loved ones down. Yet he pushes, pushes, pushes, cracks showing with every step.
It’s pitch dark in there, yes—but even in the depths, they keep chasing the light, the truth, and redemption.
The story is a neo-noir psychological thriller featuring a kidnapping (?) mystery—packed with investigation twists, legal drama, and emotional wreckage. Old acquaintances resurface, new faces emerge, and a warm smile pulls your attention just before the knife sinks into your gut.
Timeline-wise, Breaking Chains takes place several months after the events of Cage Games: Truth or Dare, which @tealvenetianmask (hewwo!) and I co-wrote. This makes it a canon-divergent AU, starting after Season 2, Episode 9 (The Apology Tour). It’s not required to read Cage Games to fully immerse yourself in Breaking Chains, but it might give you a bit more context.
As of now, I’ve released 4 chapters out of a planned 15 and am actively working on the 5th.
Thank you for giving this story a chance, despite it being far from complete. I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I’ve enjoyed creating it.
Shameless promoter, over and out.
P.S. For reader discretion, please check the tags for potential trigger warnings before diving in.

First book I’ve read of 2025 and it was a super interesting mystery thriller that I highly recommend. What’s so unique about this book is that it’s not a regular format and instead is a group of complied documents from an author who wrote a true crime book about a murder suicide cult killing some 20ish years ago. It’s almost like found footage but in a reading format.

Funnily enough it reminded me of Dracula in a way because of how Dracula was written in letters. Frankenstein as well since it’s a letter of a recounting in a recounting kinda thing. It’s very interesting to see a classic idea like a second hand narrator and apply that to today with all the different mediums like email and texting, etc.
Also this is going to be the format for my book posts going forward. A picture, a little description and anything else I’d like to say. Nothing to crazy but still something fun and creative for my 2025 reading.

JACKRABBIT BRUJO IS OUT
OKAY okay now that many of the jitters have passed maybe i can type a proper post! My book is out! What's a book? That's irrelevant! What's in the book? Jackrabbit Brujo is a mystery series steeped in magical realism more than casting spells. It takes place in Tucson, Arizona, with a mixed race Mexican-but-doesn't-speak-Spanish private investigator who goes by the name of Vel.
Book 1, Jackrabbit and the Beast, introduces us to Vel at the height of grief at the sudden murder of his longtime girlfriend, Laura. If that sounds familiar, yes, it is absolutely an unabashed Twin Peaks reference. Among other inspirations are the Dresden Files and classic MacGyver; with a magic system based on the poetry of the much beloved dead, Gloria Anzaldúa.
If that's intriguing, you can read the first chapter for free here! Please be aware, this series is geared towards adults and has blood/violence and mild sexual content (most of the latter is contained in the first chapter)
Purchase the PDF/EPUB here for only $3.50!
#jackrabbit brujo#indie author#fiction#self publishing#mystery thriller#urban fantasy#brewriting#on god i can't put this in the gloria anzaldua tag i'll die#anyway hoo boy shucking those jitters and getting this out there
