damn, LOTS of new info in this post battle conversation!

okay, first bit -- i love that azura is slightly suspicious of gunter. didn't imagine this ~

(in the fic, azura suspects anankos' influence on him all along, but especially in valla which heightens the sting when he calls her a betrayer along with corrin at the very end.

that said, fic!azura takes the kinder route versus camilia and tries to have corrin talk to him directly a few times. it kind of works ... until it doesn't. )

(he very interestingly deflects her a bit and goes into a topic of being curious about valla as a whole. for the paranoid player, i could see this being a big red flag numero uno ~

if you want to really reach, you could say that kind of deflecting was arguably essential in surviving nohr's court. i always got the sense gunter was a hell of a lot more politically canny than most people assumed he was.)

but ooooh, this was new to me, when they move on to azura's past. he was in a position to be protecting her when she was kidnapped?

but wait - the timeline feels off, because i think azura was kidnapped after corrin was, in retaliation of nohr's/garon's attack, and gunter was already in charge of the northern fortress. maybe azura was under the aegis of his indirect command?

or did she briefly hang out in the northern fortress with corrin before corrin's mind wipes?

but that would contradict her statements earlier in the hoshido chapters about being not as well guarded as corrin was (eg, being stolen away by ninjas)....

thankfully i don't need to have this nailed for the fic, but it'd be interesting seeing what other people headcanoned there.

i think its really really important to remember how EASILY stan couldve dropped a "now i have to deal with you BRATS for the summer.." or ford to slip a "dont let these snotty little children near my lab again, stan." but instead they never do that like. idk.

i like how the show makes it a very important and clear point that at least hear, the twins are Loved and Cherished and Wanted. so very wanted.

stan ADORES THEM. in his bones. hes trying to give them freedom but he is so so worried.

ford goes from growling to MELTING on sight "shermie had kids?" they are his babies.

its a very good and nice point like. these children are Loved and Wanted and their guardians are trying so hard and that is the bare minimum. and Not loving your kids is a bad fucked up thing to do with bad consequences.
