it's so hard being out here liking all genders and using the lable bi
#if one more person tries to argue with me and tell me to call myself pan#or argue with me to say i cant use bi because it means “two” im going to eat pavement#i unfortunately know a ton of queer people online and irl who would not survive irl queer spaces why do i have to justify myself 🖕🖕🖕🖕#also like it isnt even confusing lol#wait till u find out im friends with boy lesbians etc etc. dang you're gonna be in for a real surprise#i used to be in the queer server where the owner of the server (who i disliked cuz she was an ass) dmed me to tell me i could have#both the bi and the omni lable in the server roles and i was like bro what?? and then had to give a whole lecture on the use of the word bi#dating back to like before the 90s idk man#she ended up being like “ok” and letting me keep both. but girl rlly tried to tell me i had to be either omni or pan and i couldnt call#myself omni and bi lol#anyway that's part lf why i left that server#now im in a great queer server where there are not roles for sexualities 🩷🩷🩷 just pronoun and preferred language roles#and everyone speaks openly about whatevr they want and there are lots of fun conflicting lables and the owners and moderaters are very kind#*COULDNT have both the bi and omni lable i mis typed

The "What is a m-spec lesbian" 101 thread.
So since we keep getting these kinds of questions.
@sharksarecool2 @cute-nerdy-metalhead
I figured a "master post' thread would be a good start.
Definition for lesbian: experiencing queer attraction to women. A good way to explain 'queer attraction' (in this case) is subverting society's expectations and loving women in a non-traditional cisheteronormative way (basically loving a woman not in a way that cis hetero men are socially conditioned to love women).
multisexual/multi-spectrum: more than one.
So put it all together: A 'm spec lesbian' is a lesbian that predominantly loves women but has the potential to be open to other options.
Some common reasons to take up the label "bi lesbian" or "pan lesbian":
Trauma has made it so that genuine (any kind of) attraction for men is gone (or almost entirely gone)
A woman who loves other women and acknowledges they have the potential to be attracted to a man/misc other genders but chooses to only act on the attraction towards women
A woman who when it comes to sexual fantasies might involve women 9/10 times where the rare instance a man is involved, it's under VERY specific circumstances
A woman who has paired off with a man because they enjoy the feelings of protection, affection, and/or companionship despite having little to no genuine attraction for the man (Virginia Woolf and Elenor Roosevelt are a famous examples)
You feel like you're right in the middle between "bisexual" and "lesbian"
You feel like a biromantic lesbian or bisexual homoromantic (towards other women)
A bisexual woman who feels very comfortable hanging around lesbian spaces or vise versa (a lesbian woman feeling very comfortable hanging around bisexual spaces).
I personally identify as an asexual lesbian pansensual. I acknowledge the fact that (I'm polyamorous btw) I have one boyfriend and two girlfriends. The boyfriend is pure luck that I ended up with him (a lot of it due to personal life circumstances, a fucked up history before him of dating men, etc.). My boyfriend openly acknowledges the fact that "I am SUPER shocked you said yes to dating me, knowing your bad history with dudes before me". I'm frankly shocked myself, lol.
There are many flag variations that have popped up for things like "asexual lesbian", "bi lesbian", "pan lesbian", and/or "omni lesbian". Tumblr, DeviantArt, Reddit, and/or Google are good places to look for them. Just find your favorite flag color variation and use that.
They've been documented in queer USA history since at least the 1950s. Many Dyke March annual parades have signs that say things like "ALL DYKES WELCOME, period".
At the end of the day, human sexuality is very complicated. So many things influence it (religious, social conditioning, your own genetic preferences, etc.).

Character Headcanons
this is just sexuality and gender hcs lol but here we go! I'm going to go in first elimination order in their debut season, except for the new cast (because i haven't finished the season yet, so I dont want to spoil it for myself) which will be in the order that i remember them, then the hosts.
Ezekiel: I think he's cishet. just the homeschool stereotype and all that. but maybe he discovers something about himself between meeting alejandro and going completely feral
Eva: she's a butch lesbian. i personally think she's cis, but i could see transfem eva
Noah: gay trans man. i mean have you guys even seen his character
justin: I think he's aroace. again, i personally think justin is cis, but i could see him being trans
katie: trans lesbian. i just know it okay
tyler: he's bi. he absolutely had a crush on alejandro. you can't change my mind. i also think he's cis but again, i could see him being transmasc
izzy: shes transfem. of course. and i think she's a lesbian, but i could see her being bi or pan. assuming she's lesbian, her relationship with owen could either be just strategy or comphet. you decide
cody: have you seen the way that boy dresses? trans man bisexual disaster.
beth: personally, i think she gives cishet vibes, but i could see her possibly being bi and/or transfem.
sadie: obviously lesbian. she and katie are in love. of course. and idk if she's cis or trans. i could see either. but I think she is also trans. t4t
courtney: as much as i love duncney... i think courtney is lesbian. i think she has extreme comphet and she doesn't realize her sexuality until wt, and then doesn't come to terms with it and accept herself until all stars. but i think she's cis
harold: transfem harold is canon. to me. idk their sexuality tho. i could see them as omni or pan tho.
trent: bisexual trent is so real guys. again, i personally think he's cis, but I could see transmasc trent
bridgette: i could see her as transfem, but I also could see her as cis. also she gives me pan vibes but I can also see her being straight. idrk
lindsay: shes pan. i just know it okay. i personally see her as cis, but again, i could see transfem lindsay. or transmasc lindsay.
DJ: cis, aroace. he's just a really sweet guy
geoff: cis, bisexual. i just know it okay
leshawna: cis, bisexual. i just. i just know it okay
duncan: cis bisexual. he'll call you a slur tho
heather: transfem lesbian. trust me guys. i could also see her being ace tho
gwen: transfem bi. i just know
owen: cis bi. he is canonically bi btw. he had a crush on justin. it was played as a joke but. that's just what happened
blaineley: i could see her as straight or queer honestly. i personally think she's cishet.
sierra: transfem. for sure. and i think she's a lesbian with comphet. just like heather and courtney.
alejandro: I think he's cis, but i could see him being trans. also he's bi. trust me. but i mean i could see him being gay. it's plausible.
staci: she doesn't have enough screen time for me to tell. she has like. ten minutes total. but shes trans
dakota: transfem pansexual. i just know it okay
B: i think they're nb, or at the least a trans man. i mean. his deadname is a traditionally feminine name.. it lines up. they're not cis i can tell you that much. anyway i think he's aroace
dawn: genderqueer panromantic ace. just trust me okay
sam: he gives me cishet vibes, but also i could easily see him being bi or pan.
Brick: i feel like he's cis but I also like the idea of him experimenting with gender nonconformity. and as much as i like jo x brick as a ship, i also think brick is probably gay. or bi with a heavy male preference
anne maria: transfem anne maria is canon. to me. anyway she's very much bi.
mike: i feel like he's cis but i could see him as trans, and i think he's pan. i'm also treating his alters like separate characters, though i know very little about multiple personality disorder, so idk if that's exactly how that works (feel free to correct me in replies)
vito: i hc him to be cis but idk. also he's pan. if vito finds you hot, it doesn't matter what you've got going on.
Svetlana: transfem lesbian. trust me okay
chester: cishet ally.
mal: look i like the queer hcs for mal. y'all are so real for that. but i think he's cishet and homophobic and transphobic
manitoba: trans manitoba is real. to me. also he's pan. trust me y'all
jo: trans butch lesbian
scott: cis gay man
zoey: she could be either cis or trans. i think she's transfem. and also she's pan. i don't think an explanation is necessary
cameron: she was very sheltered, so i doubt she would have been exposed to LGBTQ+ stuff so she wouldn't know it at first.. but I think cam would be transfem. bc i saw a post where someone said that it would be funny if cameron realized she was trans because lightning kept calling her a "girl" and that was her awakening lol. anyway she's ace
lightning: cis gay man
beardo: he gets like ten minutes of screen time and he doesn't really talk.. cis bi
leonard: cis gay. i just know it
amy: cishet +homo/transphobic (i'll explain in a minute)
rodney: he's cis, okay. and pan. i just know it
sammy: shes transfem lesbian. trust me. That's why Amy hates her sm. it lines up with real experiences that I know people have
ella: she's bi. i just know it. but i'm not sure what their gender situation is.. but she uses she/they pronouns
Topher: cis gay man. just look at him i mean
dave: cishet. undecided on his opinion of queer people. (he decides he's an ally when he finds out sky is queer but he then declares himself homophobic when she rejects him) he would call you a slur
scarlett: transfem lesbian.
max: transmasc gay.
jasmine: transfem bi
sugar: cis lesbian
shawn: transmasc pan. i just know it okay

Hi! I'm going anon bc I'm not sure enough of myself to be perceived yet LOL but I need to know other ppls views on the subject that we all know— the difference between pan and bi. I've been switching between the two for as long as I can remember (along with Omni sexual) and it's like I have no clue at this point. RN I'm going with pan but honestly next week I might go with bisexual 😭 it's just so confusing bc I know all the different definitions and nothing quite makes sense. I've heard of pansexual being gender blind but it could also just be not factoring in gender and then bi could mean liking two or more genders and THEN there's ppl saying that pan is under the bi umbrella and omg all I know is that I have the capabilities to like EVERYONE, Idrc about the gender, i just know that I'll like you if you're a girl, boy, enby, or whatever else, if im attracted to you I am (i also asked this question to the pansexual page lol) do you have any advice or thoughts?
I’m not sure. My first thought was demisexual, which is when you develop sexual attraction after you develop an emotional connection with someone. I wish I could be of more use, but I’m just not sure. If anyone has ideas in the comments, feel free to share!!

Um I dunno if this is a question or a rant. No pressure to answer.
Had to listen to my (cis het white) relative go on about her homophobic views on gender and sexuality for hours and I am drained. As someone who is extremely unsure in their sexuality having someone close to you voice your fears is really difficult. It’s hard to know what to believe. I don’t know if I’m bi/pan/omni or if I’m straight and believe that I have a much higher chance of dating a woman and so I’ve convinced myself because all of my friends are. According to my aunt most woman are bi, no men are bi and most trans people are just confused, I don’t believe in any of that at all but it still causes me to question myself. All of my friends are queer and mentally ill and I just don’t understand the connection are they mentally ill due to personal things and the difficult things that come with being queer or are they queer because this is something that helps them feel better. I am also mentally ill and so I’m worried that seeing this connection has affected me subconsciously. Again I really don’t want to be homophobic I am just genuinely confused.
oh boy, your relative sounds fun. Let me discuss some of her claims
You have just as much chance of dating a boy as a girl. Probably less chance of dating a genderqueer person just because of like...availability? But like...the chances are all the same as far as ability lol. That's not a reason for being queer.
Anyone can be bi. It doesn't matter your gender. My brother is bi and he's a boy.
Trans people are not confused. I am trans. I am not confused (about being trans...about taxes? sure.)
Queerness is not caused by mental illness. You are born queer, just as you are born with blonde hair or brown eyes. You may not realize it right away, and your preferences can change a bit, but queerness isn't caused by anything or chosen.
Mental illness CAN be cause by queer people not being accepted, like your relative is doing. In fact, there are a lot of studies proving this.
I know it's hard and confusing to hear conservative people talk about this stuff because they sound convincing, but remember that they think they're right, so they'll sound right. I'm proud of you for doing your own research and not being convinced. If you want, google it! Find scientific studies that prove her wrong! Find real queer people like me who can say "hey, that's not my experience!" And remember it's okay not to know your own identity yet. It sounds like you're young, and you'll figure it out.
Sending love!
Naming you relative anon

So. Every June, I try to challenge myself by posting something for Pride Month. For the past couple years, it's been ships with cute little pride flags. This year, the priority focus will be on the Trolls Summer Gift exchange. But at the very least I'd like to show ya'll the ones I've made in the past.
2022 bundle:
Bi Hiccup x Gay Jack. Fun fact: This was the first gay couple I've ever laid my eyes on as a young child. I saw this ship and thought "I want that kind of relationship."
Bi Tony x Gay Rudolph Watching the 2017 movie, these two reminded me of Luca and Alberto so much.
Aro Merida You get it? Cuz she's an archer. It's funny. Laugh.
Bi Nan Fang x Ace Fu Yao The headcannon was based off of a fanfic I read a while ago.
Demi Ace Xie Lian x Gay Hua Cheng. I sevearly enjoyed the series. I occasionally eat fics of these two as comfort foods.
Pan Xu Xuan x Trans Xiao Bai White snake was basically 2 hours of "What you are doesn't matter, it's who you are that matters", THEE Pansexual anthem, and then the second movie Turned Blanca into a guy? This is cannon.
Ace Liu Qingge x Bi Shen Yuan Imma be honest. I didn't like SVSSS very much. Yandere's are not my cup of tea. And I was really hoping Shizun would have gotten with Liu-shidi instead.
Gay Luca x Gay Alberto I'm so glad Luberto was actually confirmed to be somewhat cannon. Though Nowadays I see Luca as bi, cuz if we're counting the concept art as apart of the lore, then Luca had a crush on both Alberto and Giulia.
Gay Jade x Gay Katie. Kate is the first character I actually felt scene as a queer person.
Genderfluid Shi Qingxuan I freaking love them so much. Easily my favorite character.
Aro Nezha This kid knows chaos and only chaos.
Pan Adam x Gray Ace Freddy I saw this crossover on DA and thought they made so much sense together. Adam the literal personification of nature, and Freddy the unification of humanity and animals.
Non-Binary Merz x Lesbian Alice These two are OCs of mine.
Aro Lesbian Isabela and Aro Lesbian Elsa. I ship this in a sort of queer platonic way. Like a "we don't really want to date people, but everyone thinks we're dating, and we just don't care enough to correct them." kind of way.
Genderfluid Camilo I want the ability to shapeshift so badly.
Pan Ao Bing x Bi Xiao Jiu Ya'll get brownie points if you know which Ao Bing this is and double points if you know who Xiao Jiu is. Lol. It was a random crossover ship I made because the company liked to crossover their medias for advertisements, and we see the adults interacting and having fun, and Nezha joins them. But we don't see the two teenagers interact at all.
Bi Verta x Bi Li Yunxiang Another crossover ship I made up cuz I didn't see a lot of Nezha Reborn and White Snake crossovers. Which surprised me, especially after Green Snake.
Gay Jiang Ziya x Gay Shen Gongbao These two lived in the same house together for 10 years and adopted a daughter together. I am convinced these two are a married couple.
Bi Mirabel There was a little bisexual rainbow on her dress. That's proof enough for me. Lol.
Lesbian Amaya x Lesbian Janai I loved seeing their dynamic in the show.
Non-Binary Kazi I love them. I'm glad they got more attention in the show.
Lesbian Susie x Trans Noelle "Why does Noelle have antlers. Is she trans? The Null the Null the Null the Null..."
Non-Binary Kris I love them. They literally never said a word, and I love them.
AroAce Krel Based on a comic I made.
Aro Blaze Another OC.
Aro Douxie Idk why, but I get that vibe from him.
2023 Pack:
Furry Omni Toby x Furry Demigirl Darci The moment Darci said she didn't want people to like her just because she was a girl, I felt that in my soul.
Bi Steve x Pan Aja I am not convinced Steve is straight.
Pan Simon x Gay Ao Bing This ship was inspired by a youtube video that had a list of crossover ships, this being on of them. And I freaking love it.
AroAce Sun Wukong and AroAce Tang Sanzang In Monkey King Reborn, out of everyone in the friend group, you can just tell that these two cared about each other the most. And I think that's just sweet.
Fuck. I can only have 30 images per post. I'll reblog with the rest of the 2023 pack.

hii!! I feel like this is low-key something we've all asked at some point, but what really is the difference between pansexual and bisexual? Because I'm always going back and forth between the two cause I'm unsure LOL all I know is that I'd love and date anyone I found attractive, which made me think I was pansexual but then I saw an article that said pansexuality was more 'genderblind' and it wasn't that I didn't see others genders, I just didn't care, so I went back to bi, but then i found Omni sexual cause that was similar to pan but wasn't gender blind, and had a preference (which for me i thought was men) but then i questioned if i actually had a preference for men or if i was just trying to fit how my parents see me(I'm afab) so i went back to bi to be safe(i do like men tho) but since then all I do is constantly battle with myself over bi and pan 😭 do you have any two sense on this?
the definition that’s i’ve always heard is that bisexual is liking two different genders (whether it be men and women, women and non binary people, non binary people and men, or others) and pansexual is liking everyone no matter their gender
but really sexualities are fluid and can be interpreted differently so this may not be the same for everyone!!
i would also recommend checking out @our-bisexual-experience and seeing what they have to say!!

♡♡Rant♡♡
Look, I have no complaint with the DLC guests for Mortal Kombat 1. Homelander and Omni-man are great imo, they fit in (Literally, the amount of gore these guys give is phenomenal). Quan-Chi? Hell yes, I miss that dude! Peacemaker? Okay, seem decent. Maybe I'm biased cuz I genuinely love superhero shit and read about it but whatever. This rant isnt about them.
It's about Ermac.
Okay okay, maybe I'm being dramatic, fucking sue me but look, I love Ermac to death and want the best for them, literally when I mean it. They're like the reason I even got into Mortal Kombat again, (no offense, Erron Black) I was super obsessive with Ermac, reading their bio all the way to the old gens back to front. Hell, my friend can tell you how many hours I've spend talking about Ermac, and just them alone! They're a big deal to me. So to see them, getting fuck by NRS is so fuck up.
You would think they would give them his MK11 design like why not? They were never present in the canon storyline at all, and the design only appear in the Krypt, dare I say in a NONCANON place? Why waste such a decent design, I think the logical reason to do is give it to them in their mk1 phase, just putting little new details here and there.
No. They didnt. Being fucking NRS, They just have to screw it up. I was having a bad day, like I had a bad feeling and I didn't knew why, now I know and holy shit- this sucks ass
Edit: Now seeing the full model of Ermac design, I think it's now fine. Design is okay, but still sad that they did him dirty in the end.
You think they could have made them human like they did in Mortal Kombat: Deception. This is a literal whole new timeline, they could have just have them start over, making them look their Deception look or their original ninja outfit for all I care, but nope. But Liz, that's too crazy, they can't just do that or make them brand new as a human being like deception or any other old gen back then. We are already in crazy town the moment they made Scorpion and Bi-han brothers. We have cross the line already, if they can have a complete do over then Ermac can get one too. Also same goes that they can't give the exact or almost same design in older gen or mk11, I literally saw the Reiko leak and they barely change that fucker. (Love him tho, slay) what I'm trying to say NRS can do this, make Ermac actually look good or keep him the same, it just they fucking hate me so lol.
What even funny is that they are a DLC character, how shockin nice is that? Omg, I just hate it sm. They won't even contribute to the canon story probably. I hate this design so bad and how NRS gets away with shitting on good fucking characters. I usually let my statement to myself and my friends but holy shit, I just can't. Ermac was my last straw and I just can't believe it's happening. . .
Bro wtf, man-
I'm not even hopeful for the skins he going to get- but I'll pray anyway, that all I can do.

Welcome to Mspec Lesbian Problems, an mspec lesbian blog centered around the struggles we face
New to bi lesbians? Here's some info!
About the blog:
This blog accepts mspec/bi/pan/poly/omni lesbians and is focused on positivity for us
This blog accepts lesboys and other gender variant lesbians, even if not centered on them
This blog also accepts all queer identities. Even the ones that don't make sense. That includes sex favorable aces and romance favorable aros, orchid aces and orchid aros, xenogenders, all aspecs, etc.
This blog is stanceless on syscourse, shipcourse, self dx validity, and other discourse that isn't specifically queer discourse. I have my own opinions but I want this blog to be a safe space for all mspec lesbians even if I don't personally agree with them on other aspects of their identity, or don't agree with their opinions on what is and isn't valid. I can go have a fit about it on my personal blog. Radqueers are on thin ice but I don't post about them here
I said before I would not explain mspec lesbians but I changed my mind I can do that. Check for explanations already posted though like pls. I don't like explaining constantly I just volunteered because I felt like some explanations were... Not as thorough as I could explain them. And sometimes my experience would be overlooked. I conveniently placed a link to a post with more links that has several expos
Discourse won't be tolerated, this is a SAFE SPACE. Like I said on point 4, I can go have a fit on my main blog about my own opinions.
Ableism won't be tolerated either. Using words like the r-slur, c-slur (unless it's being reclaimed) psycho(path) or sociopath or psychotic as insults, narcissist as an insult, autistic as an insult, using "delulu" to water down delusions, or anything that equates disorders to character flaws, is strictly not allowed
You may submit your own struggles thru the ask machine.
About the blog runner:
I am a bi lesbian, omni lesbian, neptunic, and lunian. My only use of the split attraction model is because I am ace and arospec.
I am a full moon springtide lunian/bi lesbian/omni lesbian, meaning I am not attracted to men. Exceptions may apply to partial men who are also at least partially women. But I do accept all mspec lesbians, not just the ones like me.
You can call me Red, because I use Redtail as my online persona on most things including my main account, or Lun (pronounced loon) for this blog.
I am bigender, and possibly genderfae. I am a hypergirl and aporagender I use she/her and they/them pronouns.
I am self-diagnosed autistic and suspect potential ADHD. I am trying to get a diagnosis but the waits for getting an appointment are ridiculous
I am a young adult at 18, and for the majority of this blog's existence I have been a minor
I personally identify as critinclus because I do feel I'd need to understand someone before accepting them fully, although sometimes I also think of myself as radinclus because I can get behind most people's reasoning. But even those I don't understand are included on this blog
My main account is @redtail-lol
I'm a term collector, and the transition from "normal about labels" to "almost compulsively adding more" started with being a bi lesbian.

hey totally get if this looks like a bait ask so feel free to not answer lol just not sure where I can ask this without 13 yr Olds trying to dox me but what exactly is the context behind bi lesbians? I know it's a identity with historical context, also assuming the spilt attraction can come into play. Just wondering if you have resources or hell followers that can inform me if I'm missing something
no worries at all anon! i think it is good that you are open to learn :o) this will probably get slightly wordy...so you can just scroll down to the links if you prefer.
i’ll start with a disclaimer that i am not an mspec lesbian myself, nor am i a lesbian or sapphic, and i do think getting info about a label from someone who uses it is more valuable. also worth noting i was born in the 2000s and don't have lived experience with queer spaces prior to that.
however, i do have some resources and knowledge because i hyperfixated pretty strongly on queer history and labels last year!
firstly, you are totally correct that being using the split attraction model/being varioriented is a common reason for someone to identify as an mspec lesbian. - for example: “pansexual homoromantic” or “biromantic lesbian”.
the other most prevalent reason to consider is how the word “lesbian” itself, and the community surrounding it, has changed over time and not only ever had a singular, static meaning.
“lesbian” and “sapphic” are both derived from Sappho of Lesbos and were essentially synonyms until around the 70s or 80s (i think) …and even then, the community was split on if mspec women could be/were lesbians or a part of the lesbian community.
a lot of people would accredit this shift to the biphobia present in the radical lesbian feminist movement, specifically lesbian separatism (<-wikipedia link). this is a specific movement within radical feminism that took off in the 70s, and related "only (with) women who cut their ties to male privilege". in layman's terms… they saw women who had Any sort of relationship with “biological males” (platonic, familial, sexual) as traitors and participants in the patriarchy. as such, they outcast bi women for sleeping with the enemy, so to speak. (this is ofc, a simplified and potentially biased interpretation based on the texts that i have read).
^ if that sounds a lot like modern-day TERFs… that's because the modern day TERF is the predecessor to the anti-”male” and anti-trans radfems of the 70s-90s.
OK now here are links:
-THIS CARRD has explanations as well as texts/excerpts which show the historical presence of the "bi lesbian" identity
-THIS POST by @posi-pan has a lot of exerpts/further reading as well
- EDIT: the #explanation and #history tags on @bi-lesbian are somewhere you could look too
and this pic
*note that i’ve mostly used “mspec” instead of “bi” here in order to be more broad, but the explanations work either way. for those unaware, “mspec” stands for “multisexual spectrum” or “multi-attracted spectrum”. AKA bi, pan, omni, etc. AKA the “bi umbrella”. AKA attracted to more than one gender. (you may notice that, ironically, the definition of “lesbian” that people who are *against* bi lesbians accept -”attraction to nonmen”- actually falls under this)

gay asks: 6 & 9 for Irial and 17 (if ur comfy) & 18
gay asks!! ty!
See the asks here!
ok so... Irial au Ghrianach! The Token Man!
6. How does your oc feel about labels? Theirs, or in general?
So Irial, I think, doesn't really see himself having a label in terms of sexual identity. He's very much the kind of person who is attracted to people based on their individual characteristics, regardless of their gender identity. So he's like giving bi/pan/omni but he doesn't feel the need to like, Declare his identity, if that makes sense.
9. Are there cultural or lore specific aspects to their identity? If applicable, does their species affect it?
Yeah actually! So basically ███████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████.
And now myself!
17. Do you share identity with any of your ocs? Which ones?
I do! I've had people comment before on how I make all of my ocs bisexual lmao. It's, um, pretty true LOL. I definitely gravitate towards making bisexual protagonists. Additionally, I've started getting more comfortable writing characters who are, like myself, nonbinary (particularly bigender or genderfluid). It's something I'm still trying to figure out what feels right for me, but writing Kesh for example, I'm trying to be authentic to my own experience without feeling like I'm. making a Statement about what n-b/genderfluid people are all like. Y'know? Not sexuality/gender related but in terms of shared identities, I also end up making a lot of biracial protags as well--Kesh, Sonea, Zova, and Trinket are all examples of this <3
18. Do you prefer to give your ocs specific labels, or keep it unspecified? Why? If applicable, do you change their labels depending on circumstance?
I like this question--I think it makes me really happy to proudly label a ton of my characters as bi. There are also some characters, like Zova and Kesh (trans and nonbinary, respectively), for whom it is very important to me that they are who they are! if that makes sense. There are definitely characters I write who sometimes take on lives of their own, though, and sometimes they don't always end up the identity I initially imagined them! Sylah and Nieve were supposed to be bi, but 40k words later, I had a couple of readers tell me that they couldn't really picture these characters (or Sylah, at least) being involved with a man. So okay, I wrote a couple of lesbian characters, so that's what they are now!
#i haven't made a straight oc in eighty four years#women having gay sex is too important to me#writeblr#ask game#{sanguis in monte}#{roses there are many}

me: is physically attracted to women and falls in love with multiple women (real and fictional)
also me: what no i'm totally gay (mlm) there's no way i could be bi huh what are you talking about
a couple of days ago, i was gushing about a classmate of mine to my cousin and she was like "you sound like you have a crush" and i was like "wait NO don't make me question my sexuality!!!" by the next night, i came to terms with the fact that i was bisexual and came out of the closet again to my cousin. it went well :)
i actually prefer the term omnisexual for myself since, to me, it encompasses the non-binary nature of my sexuality, but i'll be using both omni and bi since bisexual is more recognizable. aka the same thing i did when i identified as pan lol
#not writing#coming out#bisexual#omnisexual#shoutout to gaby from the four of them for having the same character arc i just went thru and guiding me thru it lmao#i feel silly that it took this long to come to terms with my sexuality considering everything#one of the fictional characters i relate most to is bi in my headcanon lol#idrk why i was so deadset on being gay bc... if it was a gender dysphoria thing you'd think id be deadset on being straight right?#but idk. gender dysphoria works in weird ways#anyway cal out#other#my posts#💭cal speaks

hi! could you inform me on what a bi lesbian is? don’t mean to come off as rude and you’re not obligated to explain if you want to, but if you could redirect me to some resourced pls do, i’m curious and have seen this term one or two times before! i tried looking but almost everything ive seen either has a confusing definition or is negative, and i’d like to educate myself if possible. ty! :D
hi, tysm for the ask! while im definitely not the guy to speak for all mspec lesbians, i can definitely try my best to help you :]
mspec lesbians are when a person identifies as a lesbian while simultaneously being attracted to other genders, hence the "multi spectrum" (mspec) part of the term. i myself am a bi lesbian, so im just going to use that as an example, but there are also pan lesbians, omni lesbians, it goes on. (there are also mspec gays, but people dont seem too pressed about them, and im not gay, so i wont speak on them.)
there are a lot of reasons someone could identify as a bi lesbian, like if theyre romantically a lesbian while being bi*sexual*, or a bi person with a preference towards women. personally, while i do think lesbianism inherently includes nonbinary people (speaking *as* a nonbinary lesbian), my attraction to nbs is separate enough to warrant the label for both mine and other nbs' comfort. (also i think some guys are attractive lol). but it does vary from person to person!
as for the history, bi people using lesbian as an umbrella term (much like, for example, a bi guy calling themself gay) since *at least* the 70s.
and as for resources, heres a really helpful carrd i found, as well as just going through the 'mspec lesbian' tag on tumblr has quite a few good posts about the historical usage of the label!
also um. sorry for giving you an entire essay (hyperbole) lol, queer identities and history are a pretty big interest of mine XP
#styx says#ty for being so nice abt this btw!! i rlly appreciate it :] /gen#feel free 2 send another ask if u have any questions!#and yeah theres a lot of negativity online about us#but genuinely as someone who identified as a lesbian way b4 realizing i was bi too it doesnt invalidate lesbians or make us 'look bad'#once again i see people only ever pressed about 'bi/pan lesbians' and never mspec gays#i do think a bit of it is in part misogyny and terf rhetoric#but what do i know im just a 17 year old on the internet /s#sorry again lol i saw a mean take abt this earlier so i felt it was a good enough time as ever to answer this#anydangway hope you have a good day anon /gen

happy pride!!!
for the queer asks- 🌹🌼🏳️⚧️
happy pride!!!!
🌹 What's your sexuality?
Idk I consider myself somewhat of a bi lesbian in that technically I'm sometimes attracted to guys but I'd never date one. Generally I just say I'm a lesbian cuz people get really touchy about labels. I could be ace flux but honestly I have no clue anymore lol.
🌼 If you used any other labels before your current one, what were they?
Oh god, so many lmao. Let's see... heteroflexible, bi, pan, omni, asexual, greysexual, ace flux, demigirl, demifluid, unlabled, queer, biro homosexual, biro ace, homoro ace, abro and aceflux, abro, omniro ace, idek so so many and not in that order lol. it took years and years to get to where i am now and even now i'm still not sure.
🏳️⚧️ What flag do you think has the best color scheme?
Oooo idk I love so many. I quite like the abro and omni flags, I also really like the ace flux and cupio flags! the sun and moon lesbian flags too.
edit: here are those flags
...can you tell i like pink and purple

Today marks the anniversary of the day a bi-curious 13-year-old nervously asked her best (online) friend to be her girlfriend, and that best friend said yes. Now, four years and five relationships later, that nervous, bi-curious little girl is a proud transmasculine lesbian, typing out a tumblr post, trying to put into words the immense pain, struggle but ultimately joy the past four years have brought him.
It feels like it's been so much longer than four years, because, in a way, it has been. The struggle to find my identity has lasted my whole lifetime. From being an outcast, tomboyish Mormon girl surrounded by little Mennonite girls in dresses, to having my whole worldview being overturned by my best friend coming out as pansexual at a time when I still considered being queer to be a sin, it's been a wild ride. My relationship with my parents has been love/hate, and I've gone through more labels than I can count. When I first came out to my mother (because she found out about my relationship) I called myself a pansexual demiboy. There was a long period of time where I was going back and forth on whether or not I was asexual (turns out I'm not, but I still wear the black ring on my right middle finger because it's a good stim toy and at this point I've been wearing it so long I'd feel uncomfortable without it. It's not plain black anyway so I don't think it's a big deal). I've gone back and forth between pan, bi and omni, genderfluid, agender, demigender, pretty much all the main ones. The only thing I've really been consistent on has been "I'm NOT cishet". That's it. I was gonna go on a long tangent about how I DO label myself but I realize now that you probably don't wanna read a 50-paragraph essay so I'll just do this instead: If you want me to elaborate on some detail of my identity (explain my labels or what I'm comfortable being called or whatever), send me an ask about a specific thing and I'll lay it all out for ya. You probably don't care tho lol. ANYWAY bye.
#not even sure why I made this post#it's just surreal to me that it's been 4 years#like ONLY FOUR???#but also FOUR WHOLE YEARS???#it's insane really#wow#transgender#transmasc#nonbinary#lesbian#butch lesbian#bigender
