jacaerys velaryon x fem!cregan's sister!reader
when Y/N returns home to winterfell, she seeks her brothers' approval to marry the targaryen prince.
request: no
warnings: mention of character death, mild grief
wc: 1.8k
a/n: just a quick little jace imagine! although i'm not sure if it constitutes entirely as a jace imagine since there's more reader and cregan LOL
Tumblr media
It was a wonder how the crypts of Winterfell could be considered an honorary place when it was so dank. Jonnel could not feel the cold anymore, but as Y/N looked up at his statue, she wondered how her brother was not rising from death simply to complain. He’d never been built for a place like Winterfell. Neither was she. That’s why she moved to Dragonstone and led a simple life selling sea glass to ignorant tourists. Or maybe it was to escape his shadow in the halls, or to escape his spirit still in the walls, knocking and banging through the servants corridors.
Hesitantly, Y/N placed her hand on Jonnel’s cold statue, lowering her head.
“He’d be proud of you.”
Y/N locked eyes with Cregan, walking towards her. He knelt beside her and stared up at Jonnel’s stone face.
“I have something to tell you,” she said carefully.
Cregan gazed at her.
“I befriended Prince Jacaerys—while at Dragonstone.”
“I’m sure there’s more to it than that.”
Y/N chuckled, making him smile. “I love him.” When he didn’t react, she added, “He loves me.”
Cregan looked at their brother thoughtfully.
She licked her lips. “Say something or I may be sick all over Jon.”
“Are you sure?”
“Of course, I am,” she scoffed.
“These are treacherous waters, Y/N.”
“The Queen has inquired much into my married life. I believe she’s interested. She sees much of us.”
“She hasn’t sent me any letters,” he countered.
“I’m sure she will,” she consoled him. “She’s a little busy planning a war, Cregan.”
“Y/N, he’s not just any Prince,” Cregan looked at her. “He’s Rhaenyra’s son. Rumours are that he’s a…”
“I don’t care,” she snapped.
“Whatever rumours and heresy follow him, go to you too,” he replied calmly. “Your children would be considered an insult to the throne with the rumours of his legitimacy.”
Y/N removed her hand from her brother, clenching it in her lap, “I don’t care.”
“You can’t just say you don’t care!” his voice echoed off the walls.
Y/N turned to face him. “Why can’t you just be happy for me?”
Cregan stared at her.
“This is what father and mother wished for me,” she exclaimed. “To get married, to have children, like the perfect little Lady. I never thought I’d want this, but now I do and I want it with Jace.” Her brows furrowed and she stood, shaking her head. “You’re just angry because I have something good and you have the same old castle with the same old servants and the same old soldiers.”
Y/N fast-walked out of the crypts, leaving both her brothers in the cold underground.
***
“Enter.”
Y/N set down her quill as Cregan stepped through the door. After shutting it, he took a few steps in. Her eyes immediately locked onto the floor.
“What’re you doing?” he wondered aloud.
“Writing to Jace,” she replied, jaw tense. “Lucerys Velaryon is planning a trip to speak with you. I’m letting him know he will be well looked after here.”
Cregan nodded thoughtfully.
“I didn’t mean what I said,” she began, teeth so tense they could crack. “I don’t think you’re angry I have different opportunities.”
“I’m not angry… though I am jealous.” Cregan sat in a chair near the burning hearth. “You’re right. You get to leave Winterfell and meet all manner of people whenever you choose and I get the same view I’ve seen since I was a babe. But that’s just my position. I am Lord whether I like it or not.”
“You could give it up,” she mumbled at her parchment.
“And give it to who? Benjen?”
Her eyes rolled. “Benjen would burn this place down.”
Cregan laughed, nodding. “He would.” He sighed. “Winterfell may be my hell, but it is also my home. I belong here. Clearly, you do not.”
After less than a second of sullen silence, he added, “Y/N, your Lord Brother demands you to look at him, please.”
She looked up at him, although still with a sour expression.
“I love Jace,” she mumbled.
“I know you do,” he said softly.
“You must let me go, Cregan,” her quill clacked against the table as she emphasized his name.
“I’m trying,” he sighed, rubbing his face. “I do not wish to see you forced onto a battlefield as a result of him.”
“Women who do not end up on a battlefield are put through childbearing,” she said. “That is our battlefield.”
Cregan nodded, “I have always been terrified at either thought.”
Y/N watched her brother as he stood.
“I will send a raven to Dragonstone… requesting the Prince to accompany his brother. It is integral the future King witnesses the army that will be fighting for him and his mother.”
***
By the Lord of Winterfell’s request, Y/N was in the Great Hall, dining alongside him. She had been up all night, anticipating Jace’s arrival, so she’d much rather have been in her bed. Although, she couldn’t complain too much as the Great Hall was closer to the gate than the Great Keep.
At the rattle of dishes, Cregan flinched.
“He’s here!” Y/N shouted, leaping from the bench and running for the door.
“Y/N,” he called. “Y/N!”
She ignored him, running out of the hall gleefully, skirts in her hands.
Servants and working men backed out of the way of her in the courtyard. It had been a long time since she ran amuck through the castle. She could almost feel her brother chasing after her.
As she got to the courtyard of the southern gate, the wooden doors opened wide. While others bowed their heads, Y/N raced across the mud.
A smile broke out on Jace’s face as she came toward him.
Y/N leapt into his arms. The entirety of Winterfell was silent as they watched Jace and Y/N walk hand-on-arm across the courtyard, over to a glaring Cregan. She ignored the look of disapproval from him. She was much too excited to care.
“Apologies for the informalities of my dear sister,” Cregan said. “I assure you, she has been raised better than this.”
“No apologies necessary,” Jace smiled, glancing at her. He patted her hand hooked under his arm. “I believe she and I are long past formalities.”
Cregan nodded once, not willing to debate with the prince.
“Oh, relax, Brother,” she groaned. “He’s not going to bite your head off.”
“You have known the Prince for quite a while, Y/N. I have only just met him today. Prince Lucerys,” he bowed.
Lucerys nodded with a regal smile. “It is a pleasure to meet you, Lord Stark.”
“Take us to your crypts,” Jace said. “We should like to pay our respects to your father.”
“Of course, Your Grace.”
***
Y/N cracked the servants door as she listened in on her brother and Jace speaking by the hearth.
“Do you love ‘er?” Cregan said over the crackling fire.
“She makes me the best version of myself,” Jace answered. “She’s taught me to look at the world differently.”
“I didn’t ask how she makes you feel, I asked if you love ‘er,” her brother replied. “Y/N has always been able to make people feel important,” he mumbled. Cregan looked at his hands, rubbing them together.
“When our mother fell sick,” he added, “our father refused to leave her side. Shortly after she passed, so did he from the same. Overnight I not only became a lord and a warden, I became a father and mother to my brother and sister. I’ve raised them since they were ten and one. They were children.”
“You have another brother?”
Cregan’s eyes narrowed at him, “She never told you she has a twin?”
Jace shook his head.
“It is an indescribable pain when you lose your twin. I’m not surprised she never told you. She hasn’t spoken of him since his death.”
Cregan leaned back in his chair and looked Jace in the eyes.
“I say all of this because the love she feels for you could destroy her if it is not returned tenfold. You may be next in line for the throne, Jacaerys Velaryon, but you are nothing but skin and bones to me when it comes to my little sister. If you hurt her or do not love her, I will serve the Queen until the day of her death but the moment she takes her last breath I will not answer your summons.”
Jace looked to the fire, nodding.
“I love her,” he finally answered. “I’d take an arrow for her.”
“But would you take almost two million? Because that’s how many soldiers the Greens have.”
“Of course I would,” Jace looked at him, affronted. “I’d give my life if it meant she could safely stay out of this war.”
“If she takes your name she gains a target on her back.”
“She has a target even if she’s a Stark,” Jace argued. “She is a Lady of Winterfell and the Warden of the North’s sister. Everyone you love has a target on their back.”
“What can you do to protect her that I haven’t already?” Cregan’s voice became quiet, careful. He was assessing him. “She can be quite unwilling to listen to the reality of the world.”
“Y/N is reasonable,” Jace countered. “I believe she’s more understanding of reality than you or I. When you die, she does not become Lady of Winterfell or Warden of the North, she is expected to have her heir do that. She is luckier than us in the sense that she does not have as many expectations, so she may bend those rules.”
Cregan’s brows were furrowed in concentration.
“If I approve of this marriage, you must do everything to keep her alive and happy. You must lay down your life if it comes to it. She is all I have left, Jacaerys. I will never forgive you if she is put in harm's way.”
“I’d ruin my name—I’d strip my title if need be to bring her home safe to you. Whatever is necessary, I’ll do it,” said Jace.
Cregan stared at him.
“You're a good man, Jacaerys. And I hope you’ll make a good King, too.”
Jace nodded solemnly. “I will. For her, I will.”
“Scaring him off already, Brother?”
Jace’s head whipped to the doorway as she walked through.
“How much of that did you hear?” Cregan asked over his shoulder.
“I could say none of it, though you wouldn’t believe me,” Y/N squeezed Jace’s shoulder.
Cregan stared at his sister and the man she wished to marry. She saw him recognize the way Jace look at her and watched him sigh out of his nose.
“Your Highness, if I could have a moment alone with my sister…”
“Of course.”
When Jace left the room, she sat where he once was.
“He reminds me much of Jon.”
Y/N hesitated, then nodded. “He does.”
“Y/N if this is what you want… then I support you. I’m sure he would, too.”
She fought the tears pricking at her eyes. “Thank you, Cregan.”

You anxiously looked over at the clock that was mounted on the wall, “The more you look at it, the slower it’ll move,” your tia commented as she noticed you looking at the clock for the seventh time in the past five minutes. “He said he’ll call before he got on his flight, his flight isn’t until Seven. Hours away, so would you please finish your homework before your father kills me because your grades slipped while he was away.”
You groaned, “It’s killing me that he hasn’t called to let me know he made it to the airport, not even a text!”
“He’s a busy man, Y/N. Plus you know how he is, he forgets where he places his phone like ever single minute, that’s why he’s so attached to that damn iPad,” Your tia commented as she continued to chop up vegetables for dinner. But she had a point, he could have let his phone in his carry on, or some obvious place that was in plain sight.
You knew your dad too well, sometimes you thought you knew him better than he knew himself. Sometimes it was true and it scared you. Why? Maybe it was because he was everything to you and you were everything to him. It had just been the two of you since your mother passed and it was as if her passing brought the two of you closer. You bonded over her death in a morbid way.
His mother passed when he was young, so he knew how to be a shoulder to cry on.
He knew the right things to say and the wrong things to say.
He knew the things you would want to avoid, the people you wouldn’t want to see. Overall, he just knew the pain you would go through. Ever since you were just this dynamic duo.
When he was away filming, you missed him dearly, but it gave you time to spend with your cousins and family you don’t get to see as often.
“Any plans for his return home?” your tia asked, interrupting your thoughts.
“Well, I do have my tournament coming up, which is out of state and papi said we can go on a road trip. Take the scenic route and do all the stops.”
“He did mention that, he sounded pretty excited.”
“Yeah, plus this tournament is a pretty big deal, the top four teams will be competing to go to championship,” you explained. You wouldn’t say that soccer was your life, but you did love playing soccer. There was something about being on the field and just leaving everything on the sidelines, leaving all your trauma and past for a few hours and just being free.
You had gotten into soccer when you were fairly young. You remembered your parents always cheering for you in the sidelines and then it was just your dad, then sometimes it would only be your tia who always had her phone up with most likely, your dad on the other side of the phone. Slowly the emptier the sidelines got, the reason for you to play grew, the more you wanted to just be free from your mind.
The sound of your phone ringing interrupted your thoughts, you jumped up and ran towards your phone that sat at the kitchen counter. “Papi?” You said as you answered the call.
“Y//N,” he began to say.
“About time you called, I was beginning to worry you had missed your flight or something. Are you at the airport already?”
“No,” He sighed.
“You’re kind of cutting it close, you know that right?” you glanced at the clock, six thirty, it had read.
“Cariño, I need you to listen to me,” he sighed.
You sat back down at the kitchen table, “What’s wrong?” you asked. Your mind was quick to race to certain thoughts, someone could be dead, you thought. Who could it be? You had been with your tia Javiera for the past month and she was the oldest. Usually she was the first to know everything.
“I’m sorry, Cariño,” he began. Your heart began to race, an uneasy feeling crept over you like storm clouds. “I’m gonna have to stay here for a few more weeks.”
“A few more weeks? B-But you’ll be here for our road trip right?” You were met with silence, a sinking feeling took hold in your stomach, “Right?” you asked again.
“Mija,” he muttered. Pedro spent the whole day putting off this phone call for this reason. He had gotten your hopes up and he knew you weren’t going to take it easy.
“Did you tell them no?”
“I can’t tell the directors no,” he answered.
“Did you even try?” Your voice choked with disappointment, he couldn’t be doing this. He promised he wouldn’t become that parent.
“Mija, I can’t say no, I have to stay here and do reshoots.”
“But our road trip!” You exclaimed.
“I know and I’ll make it up to you, I promise.”
“Just like you promised to take me on this road trip?”
“Mija, por favor, Don’t do this to me,” he said, Pedro felt his heart heavy, he knew he was disappointing you and as much as he wanted to tell the directors to shove it and say no, he knew he couldn’t.
“Or like how you promised you’d never do this? How you promised you wouldn’t become that person.”
“Y/N,” When the first name came out, you knew he was beginning to get upset.
“Mija, give me the phone,” your Tia stepped in. She knew someone might say something they might regret and she didn’t want to see either of your hurt. But she forgot to realize you were her brothers daughter and just like him, you were stubborn too.
You held onto the phone, “You promised,” disappointment written over your voice, tears began to well up in your eyes.
“I know,” he whispered. If you had only seen how torn your father was at the moment, maybe you would have been okay with situation. Or maybe things would have turned differently, but you could only hear his voice and although, you heard the disappointment in his voice, you couldnt be bothered to care about it. All that mattered to you was that he had broken his first promise and you didn’t know if this was going to be the first of many and if so, what was next?
Would you be one of those kids that grew up only seeing their parents on the holidays and eventually writing a book titled, “My Parent, the Mandalorian, and the neglect I endured.” You never wanted to be one of those kids and when your dad first began to get bigger roles, he had promised you that you wouldn’t. That he wouldn’t become one of those famous parents.
You remained silent, hoping it was some kind of sick joke and maybe he’d say something along the lines of ‘Gotcha!’ or maybe he’d say ‘I’ll be there tomorrow, don’t worry!’ But seconds pass and he didn’t say any of it. “Okay,” you finally said.
“Mija,” Pedro began to say but you handed the phone to your tia.
“Pedro, it’s Javiera,” your tia said, a somber look fell on her face when she had heard him apologizing when she first took the phone. She felt bad for her little brother, but she also felt bad for you.
“Is she still there?” Pedro asks
Javiera looked at you, you wiped away tears that were managing to escape. You groaned to yourself, irritated with everything around you, you left the room. “She just left,” she replied.
“I fucked up, didn’t I?”
“Yeah,” she sighed.
“How do I fix this?” Pedro pleaded. Ever since your mother passed away, Pedro called his big sister for any little thing on parenting, he felt like every choice he made was the wrong one. Most of the time, it wasn’t, he was just overthinking it.
“There really is no way out of the reshoots? No way to reschedule?”
“Directors call,” he sighed. “I really fucked up, Javiera. No me va a perdonar” (She’s not gonna forgive me).
“No mas nicesieta tiempo. Let me talk to her, but for now… give her some space.”
“Are you saying not to call her?” Pedro questioned.
“Or text… just for a couple of days. If anything send her a goodnight text, but let’s not anger her more.” He let out a small sigh, Pedro always texted you. Even if he went the whole day without responding, he made sure to send a goodnight text every night.
“Alright,” he muttered. “I’m gonna need you to get in contact with the school, she’ll have to go with her team to the tournament.”
“I’ll contact them, and Pedro?”
“Mande?”
She let out a deep breathe, “It’s gonna be fine.”
Pedro tried his hardest to give himself a smile, to reassure himself that it would be fine and eventually it’ll pass, but he couldn’t. At the moment his heart was utterly broken, he had broken a promise, what felt like a sacred vow and now he had disappointed you. It probably wouldn’t be the first, but he sure as hell, hopes it wouldn’t become a habit.
Over the past week, you only left your room to go to school and shower. Your cousins dropped off your food in your room every day, you felt like they were somehow on your side. Your friends eventually began to blow up your phone, not only had you been distant with your family, but you’ve also been distant with them.
You felt your phone vibrate beside you, you groaned at the thought of getting a phone call from anyone. Picking up the phone you realized it was one of your teammates, Cassandra, “Yeah?”
“Finally you pick up,” Cassandra muttered. “Look, a bunch of us are going to go on a drive later tonight with Justin’s brother, he just got his license and we wanted to know if you want to join.”
“Can’t.”
“Oh come on, Y/N! You’ve been so distant and what will it hurt? You’re dad isn’t home anyway so he can’t say anything!”
You let out a sigh, she had a point, “I still have curfew.”
“So? Sneak out.”
You had to admit that Cassandra was a bad influence. She wasn’t your best friend, she was one of the girls in your soccer team. She was part of the older group in the varsity team, but she always invited you out. Part of you felt like she only did it because of your dads social status which is why you always declined her offer. That and because your dad didn’t really approve of you hanging out with her, he could always tell when someone was a bad influence. But Cassandra was right, he wasn’t here.
“Fine.”
“Really?” Cassandra asked taken back by your response.
“Like you said, my dad isn’t here, so it shouldn’t matter right?”
“Trouble in paradise?” She chuckled.
You rolled your eyes, “What time should I be ready?”
“We’ll pick you up at midnight, we’ll shoot you a text when we’re down the block,” Cassandra said before she hung up the phone. You felt your nerves beginning to get worked up, you had no idea what you just got yourself into, yet something inside you felt carefree.
If your dad were home, you knew he wouldn’t approve of you going out so late. He definitely wouldn’t have approved of you going on a joy ride with someone you didn’t even know and had just gotten their license. He wasn’t here though.
You remained in your room while you waited, your Tia Javiera came to check on you before she went to bed. Soon after you heard your phone vibrate on your desk, for a moment you thought it was Cassandra but it was still an hour away from midnight. You glanced at your phone,
Goodnight, Mija ♥️
It was a message from your dad. You rolled your eyes and put your phone away. You spent the rest of your time getting ready, you wore something simple, but made sure to cover up from the cold. A few minutes past midnight you received a text from Cassandra saying that they were waiting down the block. You began to quietly make your way out of the house.
“Where you going?” you heard someone whisper.
You turned around to see your cousin Pedro in the middle of the kitchen, “Pedro, what are you doing up?”
He held up a sandwich, “where you going?”
You looked at him with pleading eyes, “I’m only going to be gone for an hour, it’s just a drive around the block with some friends.”
He chuckled, “I don’t care what you do, Y/N. I’ve been there before. Have fun and if you go to McDonalds bring me some fries, kay?”
You rolled your eyes, “whatever.” You playfully flipped him off before walking out of the house. You made sure to close the door softly behind you. Once you were in the clear you booked it down the street. You spotted Cassandra waving you down from a dark green Tahoe.
“This car is a piece of junk,” you commented as you got into the Tahoe.
“Hey, no disrespecting Hilda!” The driver who you assumed to be Jasons brother, exclaimed.
“She’s a piece of junk but she’s Marty’s piece of junk,” Jason commented.
“Correct!” Marty said. “Now let’s get this party started!”
~~
Pedro woke up in a startle to the sound of his phone ringing, at first he had thought it was just his dream, but the sound slowly began to get louder and louder until finally he woke up. He groaned, “who the fuck is calling so early?” he muttered to himself.
“Hello?” he answered in an annoyed tone.
“Pedro?” he heard his sister on the other line, her voice sounded strain.
“Javiera?” Pedro quickly sat up.
“Pedro,” Javiera’s voice trembled, there was some ruffling sounds on the other line.
“Javiera?” No answer. “Javier, que te pasa?”
“Pedro?” Javiera’s husband had taken over the phone.
“Augustine? Que esta pasando?” (What’s happening) Pedro was no sitting on the side of his bed, he no longer felt drowsy.
Augustine sighed, “Pedro, no se como dicier te. Y/N snuck out a few hours ago,”
“Shit,” Pedro let out a deep breath he didn’t know he was holding in. His mind had been racing to a million scenarios. “Well that’s a first,” he chuckled.
“Pedro,” Augustine said softly.
Pedro closed his eyes, the way Augustine said his name, he knew what it meant. “Is she okay?” Pedro asked as his voice trembled.
“She was in a car with a bunch of her friends and some drunk driver, he was driving over a hundred miles, the kid didn’t have a chance to react.”
“Augustine, is my baby okay?” Pedro was beginning to get ansty.
“She’s in the ICU,” Pedro could hear his sister crying in the background.
“Is she okay?” Pedro asked again.
“You need to get here as fast as possible, Pedro. She’s at Saint Mary’s Memorial Hospital, you know where that is?”
“Saint Mary’s, yeah,” Of course he knew where it was. He could never forget, it was the same hospital you were born at and now you were there again, but in different circumstances. Pedro was quick to hang up, calling his Director in the middle of night was something he would never do, unless it was something like this. Something like his daughter was hanging on by a thread and he didn’t care about anyones sleep, he just needed to get on the first plane back to New York.
The directors were understanding of the situation, they even helped Pedro get back to New York within the hour. He had never received treatment like that, but he was thankful for it.
Pedro had just a carry on, leaving most of his luggage back at the hotel with his assistant. He didn’t need much anyway, just the essentials.
Once he got out of the airport, he flagged down a taxi. The ride to the hospital seemed to be the longest ride ever. Pedro was anxious to get there, anxious to see you and to make sure you were okay. She’s in the ICU, Augustine’s voice kept repeating those words in his head like a broken record player. The sound of his sisters cries over the phone brought back memories he had thought he buried.
His thoughts were quickly interrupted by the brief halt of the car, Pedro looked out of the car window to see that he had arrived to his destination. “Thanks,” he said to the cab driver as he handed him some cash before bolting out of the car and into the hospital.
The sun was beginning to rise when Pedro finally arrived, he rushed over to the front desk. “May I help you, sir?”
“Uh- my, my daughter,” Pedro let out a shaky breath.
The receptionist knew that look too well, she had seen it so many times. “What’s the name?” she asked softly.
“Y/N Pascal.”
SHe was quick to type the name in, knowing that the last thing he wanted to do was wait any longer. “Take the elevator to floor three.”
“Thank you!” Pedro ran over to the elevator, punch the button for floor three.
He ran out of the elevator once they opened.
“Pedro!” He heard his sister exclaim.
Pedro let out a sigh of relief, he ran over to her and gave her a hug.
“I’m sorry,” she sobbed.
“It’s alright,” he looked over at his nephews, they both were distraught of the situation. “You boys okay?”
Young Pedro looked over at his uncle, tears in his eyes, “I should’ve stopped her, Tio. I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay,” he pulled his nephew into the hug. Pedro didn’t know why he was trying to comfort everyone at the moment, maybe a part of him felt like it was his responsibility because he felt so much guilt. “Where is she?”
“The doctors have her in surgery right now, she had some internal injuries they hoped to repair.” Pedro choked back the tears, he sat down on one of the chairs nearby. “They said by the looks of the crash site, she got the worse of it. She was sitting in the spot the car impacted with.”
Pedro pinched the bridge of his nose, “How bad is it?”
“The doctors said something about possible physical therapy,” Javiera added. “It’s still all unknown at the moment.”
“This is all my fault.”
“Don’t say that, Pedro.”
“She isn’t that kind of kid, Javiera! She would’ve never done this unless she was really mad at me,” Pedro let out a shaky breath. Javiera placed a comforting hand on her brothers shoulder. “I can’t lose her, Javiera,” Pedro sobbed.
“I know,” she whispered. She let Pedro cry into her shoulder and he cried for a while. After about an hour, he began to calm down, everyone sat in silence as they waited for the doctors to come out. Hours passed by when finally a doctor walked out of the doubled doors and to the Pascal family.
“Family of Y/N Pascal?” the doctor nervously figeted with his hands.
Pedro stood up quickly, “How is she?”
The doctor cleared his throat, he never like this part of the job, speaking to the family. “There was a lot of damage and we did the best we could,” Pedro felt a sob make its way into his throat, he tried his best to hold it back, it wasn’t bad news yet. “But she’s steady now.” Pedro let out a deep breathe. “This isn’t the end of her journey yet, she has a long road of recovery. She’s lucky to be alive.”
Pedro had tears falling from his eyes, his baby girl was okay. “Thank you,” he said to the doctor, “Can I see her?”
“Of course, I’ll take you to her.” The doctor led Pedro through the doubled doors, “She’s in the post Surgery, we’ll be moving her back to the ICU later today.” The doctor stood beside one of the doors, “She’ll have a lot of wires surrounding her, it may look scary but it’s what’s keeping her alive. She might not wake up right away, if anything we don’t expect her to wake up for a few days. It’s common in severe crash victims,” the doctor explained. “The tube in her throat will be taken out once she can breathe on her own.”
“Can I touch her at least?”
The doctor nodded, “It’s like handling a newborn, you have to be a bit careful.” The doctor tried to give Pedro a reassuring smile.
“Thank you,” he said softly before opening the door. The doctor was right, the way the wires surrounded you scared Pedro. “Oh baby girl,” he said softly as he walked up to the bed. “I’m sorry,” he let out a sob. He sat on the chair beside your bed, taking your hand into his, he placed a kiss on the top of your hand. “I’m sorry I broke our promise, but you need to wake up for me okay?” He slowly moved a strand of hair out of your face, careful to not touch the tubing and wires. “Te quiero mucho, Y/N. No puedo vivir sin ti.” (I love you so much, Y/N. I can’t live without you).
As the days passed, Pedro stayed beside your bedside during the day and during the night. He never left your bedside, not even to shower although he was beginning to get remarks about how he smelled. He didn’t care, he wanted to make sure he was there when you woke up.
It had been a full week and you still hadn’t woken up. The doctors were beginning to worry, they started to do more tests to make sure they didn’t miss anything before or to see if anything new showed up.
“Pedro, you need to go home and at least shower,” Augustine said as he placed a plate of food on a small table nearby.
“I’m fine,” Pedro said as he kept his eyes on you. Augustine sighed, it was no use, there was really nothing that was going to convince Pedro to leave the room.
“Come on, Cariño,” Pedro said softly. “You need to wake up.” he squeezed your hand gently. Pedro was about to let go when he felt you squeeze his hand, his eyes widen and he squeezed your hand again. Few seconds later your squeezed his hand, “Yes!” he exclaimed. He got up from his chair, “She squeezed my hand!” he yelled out to the nurses that were outside the door. They came rushing in, beginning to check your pupils and your vitals.
“Get the doctor,” one of them commanded the other.
The doctor was ecstatic to see the vitals go up, “Y/N, if you can hear me, squeeze your dads hand.” You squeezed your dads hand again. Seconds later your eyes fluttered opened, you winced at the brightness of the room. You felt something lodge in your throat, you lifted your arm to touch it, “no, no we’ll take it out for you, dear.”
“She’s awake,” Pedro said in disbelief.
“We’ll need to get the tubing out,” the doctor said. Pedro got up from his spot on the bedside, let the doctor take the tubing out from your mouth. “Your mouth is gonna feel dry for a couple of days, it’s common,” he began to say as he checked your pupils again. “Do you know where you are?”
“The-” you coughed, a nurse handed your cup of water. “The hospital?”
“Good, what year is it?”
“Twenty Twenty Three.”
“What’s your name?”
“Y/N.”
“And who’s that?” The doctor pointed over at your dad.
“My dad,” you said softly.
The doctor smiled, “We’ll run some more tests later,” he said to your dad, “I’ll leave you two alone for a now.”
Your dad thanked the doctor, he waited until they all left to go back to his spot by the bedside. You bothe remained quiet for a few minutes, one waiting for the other to speak. The other trying to get the courage to speak.
You let out a shaky breath, “I’m sorry,” you whisepred. “It was really stupid.”
Pedro shook his head, pulling you into a warm embrace, “It doesn’t matter,” he said softly. “All that matter is that you’re here and you’re alive.” He let go of the embrace, holding your head in his hands, “that’s all that matters to me right now, okay?” You gave him a nod, “I thought I was gonna lose you,” he choked out.
“I’m sorry,” you trembled.
“Que paso, Amor? How did it happen?”
You shrugged, “One second we were heading back and the next thing I know, I heard screaming and it was dark,” you sniffled. “Is everyone else okay?”
Your dad nods, “You got the worse of it. Cassandra was pretty shooken up, but they all got minor scratches and concussions.”
“Lucky me,” you said sarcastically. Your dad kissed the top of your head, “I really am sorry about everything.”
“No, I’m sorry, I broke a promise.”
“I overreacted,” you confessed.
“I don’t think you did,” he said softly. “I mean, I get it, we had a promise I wouldn’t break promises or cancel on you for work, especially with thing like your tournament. I wouldn’t let you become one of those kids with a book on how their parent was the worst parent ever.” you chuckled, causing your dad to smile, “I broke that promise and it scared you, and I’m sorry.”
“Thank you and I’m sorry I overreacted and landed myself in the most expensive place on earth that isn’t Disneyland.”
Your dad let out a laugh, “Forgiven.”
“Forgiven,” you repeated. “Now, how bad is this?” you gestured to your broken leg, “Is my soccer career totaled?”
“Soccer career? I thought you wanted to become an actor like your old man?”
“Well, acting wasn’t my first choice, but depending on this, it might just become my first choice.”
Pedro rolled his eyes, “Well, you’ll have physical therapy for sure, but let’s talk about it when we get there.”
“Alright, but can we talk about something else?”
“Dime (tell me).”
“Can you go shower?” you scrunched up your nose, “I’m pretty sure your B.O. is what woke me up!”
Pedro rolled his eyes, “Alright, alright, I’ll call your tia over to be with you while I go shower.” Pedro watched as you covered your nose in exaggeration, usually he would say something petty, but right now he just wanted to admire you and the fact that you were still alive. “Te amo, mija.”
“Y yo a ti, papi,” you gave him a smile, knowing that everything was going to be okay and that if you did write a book in the future, it’d probably be about how you grew up blessed to be Pedro Pascal’s daughter.

Chapter Thirteen
When Hassan brought Nadine home to meet his parents and little sister he was nervous. His palms sweated profusely no matter how many times he wiped them on his pants, they never dried. His stomach twisted into knots as he walked her through the home to the living room to meet them. But today standing on his sister’s front porch he didn’t feel any of those things. His nervousness was replaced with giddiness, his palms didn’t sweat and his stomach remained neutral. Internally realized no matter how he once felt about Nadine that she was not the woman he should have been with all those years, it was the woman whose hand he held, whose hand he gently caressed as they waited. The door opened and Gabi flung herself at her older brother, hugging him tightly around the neck saying how glad she was to see him as Tamara discreetly pulled her hand from his to give them room. There was a smile on her face as she watched them.
“I missed you too, Gabi. You act like you ain’t seen me in months,” he laughed, squeezing her back just as tightly. “Alright, alright, let me go.”
Gabi squeezed him one more time before letting go. “Its been like two weeks since I’ve seen you and you know that hasn’t happened since you moved back here from Texas.”
He glanced to his right at Tamara then back at his sister. “I been busy but Ima do better. I don’t want you cryin’ to Mama.”
Gabi’s brow raised looking between him and Tamara. “And I know exactly what and who you’ve been busy with. Nice to finally meet you, I’m Gabi.”
Tamara stuck her hand out but was pulled into a tight, brief hug. “I’m Tamara,” she laughed after being let go. “It’s nice to meet you.”
“Oh girl, I know who you are. My brother tells me about you all the time but the pictures he showed me did not do you justice. You’re even prettier in person.”
At that Tamara turned to stare at Hassan. “Pictures? What pictures?”
“Don’t worry,” Gabi laughed, pulling them both into the house. “They were good ones. I mean he is an artist after all. He has never taken a bad picture of anyone. Not even that witch Na,” she was cut off by him clearing his throat.
“Be nice, Gabriella. I keep telling you that.” He warned playfully.
“You’ve been telling me for years to be nice and hasn’t worked yet. Oh … before I forget there’s something I need to tell you two.”
“What did you do?” He asked in an accusatory tone.
She shook her head. “No, no, it wasn’t me. It was your nephews and their big mouths that they definitely got from their father.”
“What could they have possibly told?” He asked, sure there was nothing they could have told Nadine. They didn’t like her and even if they did, he had made sure not to tell Gabi that he was taking Tamara to meet his ex-wife because of her big mouth. He watched her fidget for a second. “What is it?”
“Weeeell they may have spilled that you were bringing Tamara over to meet us.” She said quickly, making Tamara laugh.
“To whom, baby sister?"
Immediately Hassan’s eyes moved from his sister to the direction the other voices came from. He couldn’t help the chuckle that passed his lips.Their parents were there and there was no doubt as soon as Shirley DeBreaux found out about this impending visit she got up right then and made Rome DeBreaux drive her two hours from Columbus to Atlanta to be a part of it Hassan reached out for his girlfriend’s hand.
“It’s okay, Gabi. It saves me a trip,” he admitted with a shrug. “You’re gonna meet my parents as well. They’ll like you but Mama can be a bit much. It’s where Gabi gets it from. If that’s not okay, if you not ready I can take you home. They’ll understand.”
Tamara smiled up at him, her brows creasing a bit. “I don’t why you think I scare so easily but I’m okay. I’m happy to meet everybody, I want to.”
Gabi grinned, grabbing her hand from Hassan, pulling her along leaving him to follow behind them. “See I knew I liked you. You’re way better than that ole raggedy witch Nadine.”
“Gabriella,” Hassan called out over their laughter. “Don’t laugh, Tam. She know that ain’t nice.”
As soon as they entered the living room, Shirley’s reaction to Tamara undoubtedly ended all other conversations. With her hands to her face, she approached Tamara with a wide, genuine smile on her face.
Tumblr media
“Oh my goodness. Girl, look at you,” she gushed loudly, taking one of Tamara’s hands to spin her around. “Aren’t you just the most gorgeous thing I have ever laid eyes on.”
“Thank you,” she responded softly. “It’s very nice to meet you, Mrs. DeBreaux.”
With a playful swat to her leg, Shirley pulled her into a tight hug, rocking them back and forth. “You quit all that ‘mrs’ stuff out, you will call me mama just like the rest of my children.”
“Yes ma’am. You’re so pretty and I love your hair. I kind of feel like I know you already. San talks about you and his dad all the time,” Tamara admitted taking a peak around her to everyone else.
Shirley moved to hug her son then swatted his arm. “Yeah well my son didn’t mention you to me. If Malcolm and Monte didn’t tell me, I would have never gotten to meet you.”
“Mama, I was gonna bring her to meet you and dad. I was just starting with Gabi and her crew first. They live here.” He assured her with a smile.
“I’m only two hours away, see how quickly I got here and I didn’t find out until about four hours ago,” she continued on as she brought Tamara further into the living room. “Alright now this is Hassan’s father, Rome and believe you me they are just alike. It’s almost like he spit him out they act so much alike.”
Tumblr media
Rome stood, wrapping her in a warm hug. “It’s very nice to meet you, young lady. How’s my son treating you?”
“Very good. I wouldn’t be here if he wasn’t, Mr. DeBreaux,” she shrugged playfully.
“Please call me Dad or Rome. You’re family or I assume you will be soon,” he hinted more to his son than to Tamara before sitting back down. Hassan chuckled softly in response as he rubbed lazily through his beard.
Pulling her away from her mother, Gabi turned Tamara’s attention to her husband and kids. “This is my husband, Tyler Scott and our twins, Malcolm and Monte. Boys, this is Tamara. Remember the nice lady I told you about.”
Tumblr media
Tyler stood briefly to shake her hand, offering her a bright smile. “Nice to meet you, Tamara. I’m really glad you’re finally here, Gabi has been talking our heads off about you coming.”
“Yeah and making us clean,” Monte mumbled loud enough for the adults to hear. Tyler pinched his son’s arm. “Ow! She did though. She woke us up to that old music and we all know what that means.”
“Right and she only supposed to do that two Saturdays out the month and today ain’t saturday.” Malcolm added with a similar mug to his brothers.
Tamara laughed, reaching to give both boys hugs. “Well I’m sorry she had you up cleaning early. How old are you two?”
“Thirteen,” they answered simultaneously.
“Uncle San, she gon be our new auntie?” Monte asked loudly.
Hassan slowly approached them, wrapping his arm around her waist. “I think that’s up to her, boys. We’ll see how she feels by the end of the night.”
Malcolm groaned. “You never give us real answers, Unc. When Rye comin to visit? She always got the answers.”
Hassan jumped at them playfully, laughing when they jumped back. “Yall gon sell me out for Rye so I ain’t telling yall. How bout that?”
The boys soon started to nag him, trying to jump all over him which he gave right back to them. Soon they were slap boxing with each other. Gabi grabbed her mother and Tamara’s attention, telling them to follow her to the kitchen. She grabbed the open bottle of wine from her refrigerator pouring three glasses.
“Gabi told me that Hassan really liked you while we were waiting and forgiving me if I was a bit skeptical considering Nadine,” Shirley took a small sip of her wine. “He really liked her too or he claimed to. I tried to tell him not to keep being with that girl but he was young, did what he wanted to do.” Tamara sipped from her wine, acknowledging the older woman with a nod. “But once I saw you and him together, I saw what Gabi had been telling me. He loves you. I can see it.”
“Like.” Tamara corrected.
“Oh no, baby.” She laughed with a shake of her head. “I said what I meant. I raised him, I know when my babies are in love.”
Feeling that the conversation may have gotten unintentionally heavy, Gabi butted in to save Tamara from any heat. “You’ve met his babygirl, right?”
Slowly, Tamara tore her gaze away from Shirley, settling on Gabi. “I did. I actually met them both at the same time. I approached him in the mall in Orlando and she was with him. And I’ve talked to her on the phone quite a few times since him and I have been dating. She’s a sweet girl.”
“She is. Thankfully nothing like her mama,” Gabi mumbled, earning a pointed look from her mother. “I’m just saying, Mama. You know I’m right.”
Shirley sighed, sitting her glass down. “Have you met Nadine yet?”
“No ma’am but she knows about me,” she glanced at Gabi, who was smiling. “And She knows that I know about her.”
“You just be careful with her and whenever you cross paths with her. That girl,” Shirley’s voice trails off for a moment, “She got some kinda evil in her. A demon if I ever seen one before.”
“Now, Mama,” Gabi laughed, “She is a terrible person but she not a demon though.”
“The hell you preach. That girl is a demon. The way that she treated my son and his baby. Tuh, lucifer must have placed her on Trenice’s porch cause I know she didn’t raise her that way.”
This is the most honest opinion Tamara’s heard about Nadine so she leaned into the conversation. Although she was in shape or form worried about clashing with her it was important to Tamara to really know what she was dealing with. When her and Hassan discussed his ex-wife, he was still very polite and honest to a point. He never told her the extent of things that she had done to Moriah because he didn’t want to share her business without her permission. The only thing he did tell her about was the abortion during one of their late night talks. When he spoke to her about Angel, he cried like it was still fresh. The loss of his first grandchild and the pain that it caused his only child hurt him and what hurt more is that he wasn’t there to stop it from happening. From what he confided in her, that was the first time he really regretted leaving Texas and not making Moriah come with him. Guilt still ate him up. He wished that he would have just disregarded what Moriah said she wanted and forced her to come to Atlanta with him.

For once, Gia was nowhere to be found in the performance center. From what Bronco heard she had some family emergency so she would be gone for a few days and wouldn’t see them talking to Trick. After the friends decided that they were going to put Trick onto her, they took a couple days to plan out how they were going to do it and now were satisfied.
On a break from their workout, the two approached Trick who was doing curls. They sat on the floor near the bench he sat on prompting him to sit the dumbbell down and remove his earbud from his ear. He eyed them carefully.
“Yall look like yall up to some shit. What yall got goin on?” He asked picking the dumbbell back up.
“We ain’t up to shit.” Zilla laughed. “We just wanted to holla at you real quick.”
He nodded for them to go on.
“We know you been tryna settle down so we wanted to help you out cause ya game is clearly nonexistent,” Bronco joked.
He sucked his teeth. “I got game, just ain’t been tryin. That’s all.”
Zilla lifted his hands in surrender. “Aye, mane, whatever you say. But look, we know you want somebody that understand this wrestlin shit and you travelin all the time so we found you somebody.”
“And we heard she think you kinda cute. So all you gotta do is use that nonexistent ass game and ask her out,” Bronco added.
Trick stared at them clearly contemplating continuing with his curls. “Who is it that yall think yall found for me?”
“Gia.”
Trick stared at them, recalling Gia in his mind. “Green eyed girl that do the backstage interviews?” The two men nodded making him smile. “Oh word? She is kinda cute and she be givin me them bedroom eyes from time to time.”
Zilla clapped his hands excitedly.“Aight so when she come back, ask her out on a date.”
“Bet Ima do that. Preciate yall for lookin out.”
The two left him, going back to the locker room to have their conversation in private. To be honest neither of them were a hundred percent sure that Gia would even go for it but they have witnessed Trick talk to enough girls that he at least got a first date. No matter what they planned to stay informed with how their relationship would go.
“You think that shit gon work out?”
Zilla huffed loudly, taking a seat on one of the benches. “Shit, I hope so. If it don’t and she keep this shit up, Fat gon whoop her ass. I told you what she asked me Tuesday?”
“Nah. What sis say?”
“Her exact words were ‘did that bitch have her hands on you tonight?’ And shit, it caught me off guard so I’m like who,” he recounted bringing the memory back to the forefront of his mind, “And she was like that frog eyed bitch. So I’m like nah and she basically told me if she don’t stop, she gon beat Gia ass.”
Busting out laughing, Bronco took a seat on the bench opposite of Zilla. His dislike of Gia was mutual among them all so anytime he heard Moriah or Toni dogging her ass out, he was going to enjoy it.
“Yoooo sis is wild. She called her a frog eyed bitch? You deadass?” He asked through his laughter.
“Deadass, bro. She meant that shit too.”
Bronco went from laughing to scrunching his face at his friend. “Why you smilin like that, fool?”
He shook his head. “It ain’t nothin.”
Bronco watched him until it clicked. “Ayye! My boy! I know what that smile mean! That’s why yall ducked outta there!”
“Hell yeah. I’m surprised Toni ain’t trip about it.”
He waved him off. “Nah, she wasn’t goin to. She was too busy gettin on my ass.”
That admittance made Zilla’s nosey ass ears perk up. He didn’t want to know so he could tell anyone, he simply just liked to be in their business. To him that’s what friends do.
“What you do?”
“She was upset cause Javi was at home by himself but I told her he was straight, he did it all the time before me and her started.” Bronco shrugged. “And he usually with her on Tuesdays but you know she workin nights this week and I was workin so.”
“Oh damn. But Javi like 13 or 14. Ain’t it?”
“Yeah, he 13 but you know T worry so much cause of her job. I told her she hadda relax.”
Zilla stared at him. “You told her to relax? Last time I told Rye to relax she bit my damn head off. Cussed me out for like two hours.”
He laughed. Yeah, she was about to but yall walked back in so shit … saved by the bell. I did have to hear that shit when she got off though. She came straight to my house, made Javi breakfast then yelled at me while I was in the shower.”
“That’s what your ass get,” he laughed while checking his phone. “Shit, I gotta reschedule my therapy session.”
“Rye told you to do that shit two weeks ago. Ima tell.”
“Man,” he laughed, “I been busy. Ima do it though. Remind me when we leave her.”
“Nope, hell nah cause if I do or don’t and you don’t do it you gon throw my ass under the bus right along with you.”
The pediatric floor was quiet for the moment. The children that were on the floor were either sleep or medicated enough that they were in no pain. Dr. Miller took this time to get caught up on paperwork hoping to leave on time and not a minute after 7. This floor was what he always dreamed of, Dr. Harris made it even better for the last six years the older doctor had taken him under his wings and always encouraged him to do the same for others who were newly pinned. While Dr. Miller enjoyed doing this when he could, he did not enjoy one medical student in particular.
“Dr. Miller, you got a second?”
A sigh escaped him. “Only if it does not interrupt my paperwork, Gardner. I need to be outta here on time, I have family matters to attend to.”
A wide smile stretched across Thomas’ face. “Nah, it won’t take long and won’t take your focus away.”
“I’m listening.”
“A few weeks ago I assisted Dr. Harris with a hernia surgery on a five year old and he told me that the mom called because what she thinks is complications from the surgery,” Thomas explained leaning against the desk.
“Okay,” Dr. Miller drug out impatiently. “What do you want me to do with that?”
“He assured her that it would pass but I … I think something might be wrong.”
The pen fell from Dr. Miller’s hand as he turned to give the younger man his undivided attention. “You think or you know? And be very sure with your answer.”
He shrugged. “I think, I can’t be completely sure.”
“Did you do something wrong that Dr. Harris didn’t catch?”
“If somebody did do something wrong and you think it could cause said complications. What would you do?”
Dr. Miller sighed, from the moment Thomas got to pediatrics he knew the young male would be an issue. It was at this moment he vowed to never take another student or newbie under his wing again, He didn’t give a damn what his mentor would say. Thomas had spoiled it for everyone that would come after him.
“Is it something that can pass or be fixed externally or is it something that needs to be handled internally?”
“Umm I’m sure it can be fixed externally.”
Another sigh. “Is it life threatening for said five year old?”
“It can be, yes.”
“Then you need to tell Dr. Harris what you did or I will. You have tomorrow afternoon.” Dr. Miller ordered turning back to his paperwork.
Thomas’ eyes went wide with panic. “Wait, no. It wasn’t me that did it.”
“Then who did it? And what did they do?” The doctor asked, now irritated.
“It uh it was a nurse. She may have caused an infection.” He spat his lie out quicker than he could stop it.
“Which nurse?”
Praying internally that this would all work out for the better with Nadine’s plan, Thomas utter Moriah’s name quietly. Dr. Miller’s head shot up, his eyes on Thomas not believing a word that was said.
“You know what, I’ll look into it. Don’t worry about telling Dr. Harris. I got it.”
“Are are you sure? I can tell him.” He stuttered. “It’s probably nothing.”
Dr. Miller shrugged. “It probably is but I’ll check anyway. Unless there’s some reason that I shouldn’t.” He was giving Thomas the chance to backtrack and take ownership for whatever he was sure the man had done. When he shook his head the doctor gave him a final nod. “Okay then it’s out of your hands and into mine. Leave it be. Understand?”
“Yes sir but can you keep me updated?”
‘I’ll see what I can do. Gardner.”
One thing Dr. Miller learned during the time he worked with Moriah on pediatrics, he learned that she was very meticulous and followed the rules down to every period and comma. He knew there was no way it was her that did anything reckless to harm this young patient and he was going to get to the bottom of it. Thomas got the hint that the conversation was over, he grabbed his bag to leave the floor for the day praying that none of this came back to bite him in the ass. After finishing his paperwork Dr. Miller moved over to one of the computers accessing the files. He searched for a few minutes before he found the file he was looking for and picked up the receiver beside him to call the parents.
“Hi, this is Dr. Miller from Lakeland General. I’m looking for the parents of Nia Jones.” He paused. “Yes, I heard that she was having issues … Yes ma’am … Yes ma’am … I’ll be in tomorrow morning for a little while and can see her then … Yes, 8 is fine. I’ll see her in the emergency department … Okay, see you all then. Have a good night.”
Something wasn’t clean in the water and he was going to get to the bottom of it. Now that he sat up an appointment, he moved on to his next step. Getting to the ED, he texted his family group chat to let them know that he had to change his fight out for the next day instead of later tonight while he waited on Toni.
“Dr. Miller, what can I do for you?” She called out as she walked in the door.
He chuckled, going to hold the door of their breakroom for her. “How’d you know I wanted something ?” He asked, following her inside.
“Because you only ever come to the ED if you want something from me? So what’s up? I got fifteen minutes before my shift starts and I wanna use ten of those to call my mama.”
Dr. Miller helped her put her things in her locker. “You remember the hernia surgery Nurse DeBreaux helped with some weeks ago?”
“Yeah,” she answered slowly, “That was her first surgery. Why? Did something happen to that little girl?”
“No, no, no,” he said immediately, “Not yet at least. He goes on explaining to her the conversation he and Thomas had and what he had done. “Can you please stay a little longer in the morning to do the check up with me? I would ask Nurse DeBreaux.”
She nodded, finishing his thought, “But you don’t want it to look like a coverup just in case there is actually a complication from surgery. I got it, I’ll stay.”
“Thank you, I owe you. And I know I don’t need to say this but for now lets keep this between us. Don’t even tell DeBreaux.”
“Ooh I know. If I tell her that he’s tryna blame her for his negligence, she’ll kill em. She takes her work very seriously.”
“Trust me I know and I know he does to which is why I can’t understand why he would even try to put this on her.” Dr. Miller admitted.
Toni pulled out her ringing phone. “Trust me you don’t wanna know. I gotta take this, it’s my mama. I’ll see you in the morning.” She said quickly. “Oh and I’m sorry about your auntie.”
“Thanks, I appreciate that. See ya.”
Tumblr media
“I don’t know how we managed to stay away from each other for so long,” Nadine laughed, adjusting the covers over her nude body. “It’s always so much fun when we’re together.”
“Don’t act like you don’t know. You like to play coy with me and luckily for you, I like it.”
Dewayne pulled her across the bed to him, moving a few of her drop curls from her face. It wasn’t often that he felt this stress free and calm, it was only when he was in her presence. No matter how many times she turned him down for something more serious, he couldn’t let go of her. When he met Hassan, he could see how much their affair affected him but Dewayne was honest with himself–no matter how much pain it would cause, he wouldn’t stop. The Nadine he knew and the Nadine everyone else were two different people to him. They needed to dig beyond that tough exterior, the armor she wore to the rest of the world and see the sweet, loving, brilliant woman on the inside.
“I do not play coy with you.” She argued, meeting his gaze.
“You do so. Ducking my calls and texts, only responding when you want to. Youtube me up on my offer to go to dinner every once in a while and then nothing.”
She shrugged. “As you said that’s what you like about me. I’m just giving you what you want, DJ.”
He tickled her sides until she was out of breath and gasping for him to stop. “What I want is for you to stop playing coy with me and just be with me.”
“You’re married.” She answered softly.
“And so were you once upon a time. I keep telling you that all you have to do is say those magic words and she’s gone,” he reiterated, caressing her cheek softly. “I remember the first day I met you. Ava was what five had gone through so many appointments with therapists and shit until finally her doctor sent me to you. You remember that?”
She snorted. “How could I forget? You stormed into my office and demanded for her to be seen right then, instead of ten minutes later. And still ended up waiting the ten minutes because we argued back and forth.”
“I was tired of being jerked around from place to place,” he chuckled, “But you got your way anyway. I was so drawn to that fierceness that I would make her double appointments every week.”
“Mmhm and then after a month you finally asked me out.”
“And you told me it would never happen, that you were a married woman.” He recounted. “That didn’t stop me though. I always get what I want.”
She moved closer to him, resting  her head on his arm. “Hmm not always.”
“I’ll get it eventually. Now,” he sighed, “It’s been two days. Are you ready to tell me what’s bothering you?”
“It’s Moriah.”
“What’s going on with her? I’m surprised she hasn’t called yet. She usually calls when you haven’t been home.”
“She’s not in Texas anymore. She moved to Florida with that boyfriend of hers.”
He smiled. “The doctor? Alright, that’s great. Why don’t you sound happy? Isn’t that what you wanted for her?”
“No, not with the doctor. She’s with your cousin or whatever he is to you.” At that Dewayne frowned. The cousins he had in Florida he was sure were all married or taken in some fashion. “Isayah. Eddie’s son.”
“He’s out of jail?”
She rolled her eyes. “Yes, he’s been out for two almost three years now. You really don’t keep up with your family. Do you?”
“Not all of them, no. Do you know how many of them there are?” He asked with a chuckle. “But wow … I thought the doctor boy was gonna propose and everything.”
“He was and he did but she turned him down. She was and still is stuck on that jailbird boy.”
He kissed her head bringing her close for a quick hug, his laughter vibrating through his body and hers. “Listen, I know how badly you wanted her with someone else but sometimes as parents we have to let our kids make their own choices.”
“But she’s making the wrong ones and she’s mad at me because I’m trying to help her. Call herself not talking to me. I haven’t talked to her since Thanksgiving.”
“And by trying to help her, you mean trying to make the choice for her. Right?”
“Yes, but–,”
“No buts if she’s happy let her be. This is not that serious for you and her to have gone almost a year without talking, Nadine. I know you miss her and she misses you.”
There were lots of things Nadine neglected to tell Dewayne about, she didn’t want him to judge her the way her loved ones had done. While he knew about the small things Moriah did and how she was punished, Nadine never uttered a word to him about the pregnancy and the things she did because of it. The abortion, Moriah’s and hers, alone would be enough to push him over the edge knowing that he is a die hard pro-lifer. And that was just not a risk she was willing to take.
“I don’t know about her missing me but I do miss her.”
“See? So why don’t you put the need for control in the backseat and put your love for your daughter in the front?” He suggested kissing her neck.
“You mean stop trying to get her to break up with him and let them be together? Even if I know she’s gonna regret it later.”
He chucked, still kissing her neck. “Yes, that's exactly what I mean. Can you do that? If not for Moriah then do it for me. Please, beautiful?”
She stewed over the thought for a few minutes with her thoughts going fuzzy every few seconds because of his ministrations. “Fine, DJ, fine. I’ll lay off.”
“Good,” he cheered, moving to smile widely at her, “Now let me show you just how proud of you I am.”

The next morning as promised Toni waited for Dr. Miller. She stood beside him as he checked the little girl and went over her x-rays with the parents. The only thing he had yet to receive were the results from her blood work.
“Has she been feeling woozy or tired lately? Fever? Vomiting?” Dr. Miller asked, still checking nia.
Her mom spoke up first with a worried glance. “Not woozy but more tired than usual. Fever comes and goes and so does the vomiting.”
“How long after the surgery did this start?”
The parents looked at each other lost for an answer for a moment. “Umm,” the father stuttered trying to think, “Maybe a week or so after. But it started to get worse a few days ago.”
Dr. Miller nodded, giving the little girl a quick smile. “So it sounds like it could just be an after effects from the surgery and all the medicine she was on but just in case it is an infection, I’m gonna prescribe her some antibiotics.”
“How are we gonna know if it is an infection?”
He gives the mother a reassuring smile. “Her blood work should be back by noon today. If there is anything suspicious in there Dr. Harris will give you a call immediately.”
“Okay, thank you so much. Really, thank you.”
“Just doing my job. Gotta make sure babygirl is able to eat her spaghetti and meatballs,” he joked, lightly pinching Nia’s cheek.
As they left the room Toni and Dr. Miller made eye contact and moved to an unoccupied area of the ED. He folded his arms across his chest waiting to hear her thoughts.
“I’m no doctor but I think she has an infection. Miller.”
“I am a doctor and I’m quite sure she does too. But I think it was caught in enough time to cure it.”
“Don’t you think Dr. Harris is gonna wanna know why he has bloodwork for her after he already told her it would be fine.”
He nodded, huffing. “Yes and I’m about to go take care of that. He’s always here early, I’m gonna go talk to him now before I leave.”
Toni nodded, still feeling uneasy. “I’ll let you know if anything happens while you’re gone. But you know I’m gonna have to tell Rye.”
“I know, just please keep her from trying to kill him until we can sort this shit out.”
Toni threw her hands up. “I make no promises but I will try.”
After only getting three hours of sleep, Moriah was awakened by her boyfriend asking her to bring him his gym bag that he’d forgotten. Declining his favor was on the tip of her tongue from being so tired but she knew he would have done it for her so she begrudgingly agreed. The performance center wasn’t as busy as it usually was and for that she was grateful. Less people see her with a messy ponytail, Zilla’s shirt and biker shorts—aka as a bum. She wandered around the center for her boyfriend, figuring he was busy since he wasn’t answering her calls or texts. About to give up and leave it in the nearest, safest spot she spotted Josh and called out to him. With their distance, she couldn’t hear him suck his teeth as he turned to face him.
“Hey! What are you doing here? Zay didn’t tell me you were in town.” She hugged him quickly, still not realizing he didn’t really hug her back.
“Workin. Came to help out.” He muttered. “Why you here? I thought you was a nurse.”
She laughed, realizing he asked because of the bag. “Oh, I do. I actually should be at home, just got off a few hours ago. Zay forgot his bag so here I am.”
“Mmm. I’ll give it to him.” He told her going to reach for the bag. “You can go back home.”
“Actually, I kinda wanted to see him since I was here. I been working nights so we been missing each other. Can I go with you?”
Josh’s lip turned up a bit at the thought of her staying any longer but he didn’t wanna make a scene so he told her to follow him. Moriah had to almost jog to keep up with him with how fast he was walking which she chalked up to his long legs. They stood in the doorway where the practice rings were located.
“Awe, it’s been so long since I’ve seen him practice. I used to go all the time in Texas.” She gushed keeping her eyes on him.
Josh had no desire to hear her go on about a relationship he didn’t agree with so since the both of them were here without any interruptions, he would speak his mind.
“You ever thought that maybe what yall got goin on ran its course?” He asked softly.
“Um huh?” She was extremely confused by his question. It was weird to her to say the least.
He shrugged. “You know like high school sweetheart shit where you been together so long that yall start to hate each other. Start bein malicious and shit.”
“Oh,” she giggled, “No, Josh. We argue here and there but we’re good.”
“You say that now. Being with a wrestler ain’t easy, Ma. Soon enough he gon be on main roster, traveling city to city without you. It gets real lonely for some of them, so lonely that they start to stray while you at home thinking they faithful,” he explained, keeping his eyes on Zilla in the ring. “And then you start to get bitter cause he’d rather be with them ring rats than you. And the more bitter you get, the more vindictive you get. Take his house, take his kids and treat them kids like shit because you so damn mad at him when you should have left years ago.”
Moriah turned her body to face him, shock and anger on her face. She knew he was alluding got more than just Zilla. He was comparing them to her parents.
“I know that my mother isn’t a great person but I am not her. And my daddy never cheated on my mama,” she spat seething.
To her words, Josh chuckled. “Your daddy may not have cheated but that doesn’t make any of it better. It makes it worse actually.”
“What? What are you talking about, Josh?”
“Your daddy ain’t cheat so he was being a good ass husband to your mama and she still dogged his ass out which included treating you like shit.”
She rubbed her face out of frustration. “Just spit whatever it is you’re tryna say out.”
He shrugged, “It’s simple. I don’t like you and I don’t want you with my cousin. Shit was cute when yall was kids but it ain’t cute no more. I’m tryna save my cousin from unnecessary hurt.”
“You … you think that I would do any of the shit my mama did?”
“Apples don’t be fallin too far from the tree, ma.You say you love em so love em enough to save him from your bitter, destructive ass genes.”
Not waiting to hear her response, he walked off towards the ring with the gym bag in tow. Feeling herself about to cry Moriah rushed away ready to leave, when she walked out of the front doors she ran face first into Bronco, almost knocking him down.
“Damn where the fire at, sis?” He joked, helping her find her balance. When she lifted her head his smile dropped. “The fuck you cryin’ for, sis? What Zay do? I’ll beat his ass for you, friend or not.” She shook her head frantically at his words. “No don’t beat his ass or no it wasn’t him?”
“It wasn’t him,” she croaked.
“Then what’s goin on? What is it?”
She broke down right as she opened her mouth to explain it to him. He wrapped her in a comforting hug, rocking her gently. “Tell me whats up? Big bruh can’t fix what you won’t tell me.”
“Its his cousin. He hates me.” She cried.
Bronco pulled back from the hug so he could see her face. “You talkin about Josh? Zay just told you that?”
Again she shook her head. “No, Josh just told me. I came to bring Zay’s bag and he basically told me I’m just like my mom and to save Zay some hurt and leave him. I’m not like her, I’ve never acted like her. I don’t know why he thinks that.”
Bronco used his shirt to wipe her face then hugged her again. “Listen, don’t worry about his ass. You put him in the category with ya mom of people who don’t exist to you. That whole family love you, ya pops love you, me and T old ass love you,” he chuckled along with her, “And most importantly Zay love you. Aight? If he don’t, fuck em. You hear me?”
“I hear you,” she answered softly. “Thank you, B.”
“Ain’t nothin,” he shrugged, smiling down at her, “That’s what big bruhs do but if you really, really wanna thank me you can make some dinner before you go to work tonight. Ima be over there with Javi and you know his ass can’t cook for shit.”
She laughed, punching him in the arm. “He tries but okay, I’ll make dinner. Thank you again and please don’t tell Zay.”
“Oh I ain’t. He’ll take that man head off about you in here. But just know he gon catch that man at some point and I hope I’m there to help.”
Parting ways, they hugged and he kissed her head once more before she left. She headed for Target instead of going home to get what she needed to put together an easy dinner for the boys while Bronco went inside, headed for the practice rings. He stood shoulder to shoulder with Josh, not saying a word to him. He knew the older man could feel the animosity rolling off him and that’s exactly what he wanted.
“What’s up, Uce?” Josh greeted respectfully.
Bronco shrugged. “Nada.”
Getting the hint Josh went back to silently watching the squabble until it was done. When Zila approached them Josh offered his bag to him almost as a peace offering then moved in to hug him which the younger cousin accepted.
“Fat still here?” He asked, slapping hands with Bronco.
“Nah. She gave me the bag and left.”
Bronco stared at his audacity. He was really about to sit here and lie but he remained quiet after his promises to Moriah.
“She ain’t say shit? You ain’t say shit to her, did you?” Zilla questioned as he unblocked his phone and went through his messages.
Josh shook his head. “Just that she wanted to talk to you since yall been missing each other cause of yall schedules and then something about being tired.”
Zilla nodded even though he was skeptical. “You straight, B? You look like somebody pissed you off?”
“I’m straight, man. People just got a lot of audacity these days. I ran into sis on her way out,” he offered up staring at Josh. “She must really miss you man. She was damn near in tears.”
“Damn, prolly do.” He agreed, missing the stare down. “Me and her ain’t actually seen each other and had a conversation since Tuesday night. Thank God she only got two more days overnight.”
“Right, I just had to remind her that you love her and ain’t shit gon change about that. Not working overnight or nothing else.”
“I appreciate tha–bruh what the fuck is this?” he exclaimed loudly trying to cut the loud video playing from his phone off. His outburst broke Bronco and Josh’s stare. “This shit, man.” They moved to stand on either side of him so they could see his phone. “What the fuck is wrong with her?”
Bronco sucked his teeth. “I know that ain’t who I think it is.”
“Yeah its her ass.”
“Her who?” Josh asked, unable to tell from what he could see of the video.
Zilla sucked his teeth. “You bet not say shit about it to nobody or ima beat yo ass, mane. I’m serious.”
“I ain’t, uce. Who is it?”
“Its Gia delusional ass.”
“How you know it’s her? All you can see is titties and her pussy. Her face ain’t in it.” Josh asked, genuinely confused. Zilla exited the video then went to the messages she sent along with it, Josh read them aloud. “Missing you so much. Wish you were here. This is what you do to me. The hell?”
“And then her ass gon say it was a accident,” Bronco scoffed reading further down. “That shit wasn’t no fucking accident. You gotta tell, sis.”
“Man, don’t tell her shit.” Josh countered earning a stare from Bronco. “Look, if you tell her that it’s only gonna cause more problems. She gonna wanna know how the girl got your number, why she feel comfortable sending that shit, and a bunch of other shit. You wanna keep her ass so damn bad for whatever reason so just delete that shit and act like you never saw it.”
“Aye what you mean for whatever reason, bruh? They in love, that’s why he wanna keep my sis around,” Bronco barked.
“Whether I agree with the shit or not, he know I’m right. Delete that shit or you gon see Nadine ass come outta her quick as hell.”
Zilla pushed his cousin off reflex. He had been being cordial for the simple fact that he was at work and they were family. “Say, bruh. I already told you bout that shit. Watch your mouth about her.”
“Okay and I’m tryna help yo ass, uce, regardless of how I feel about the shit. I’m not tryna steer you wrong,” Josh reiterated, pushing his little cousin’s hands off of him. “Delete that shit and move on so you and her can stay in lalaland for a little longer.”
Knowing his friend, Bronco quickly stepped between them pushing Zilla back. As much as Bronco wanted to beat Josh’s ass, he knew better than to do it at work and with so many witnesses.
“Look, don’t listen to him. Tell Rye the truth then we’ll go from there. Even if we gotta get Toni to keep her from beat that delusional bitch ass.”
Josh threw his hands up. “Who you gon listen to him or your big uce? I’m telling you delete that shit and keep it movin.”
Booker calling out for all three of them for something unrelated breaks up the back and forth. They act like everything is okay to get through their very long day of practice.

While Dewayne slept, Nadine snuck out of the bedroom to the bathroom to call Thomas. She weighed her options with Dewayne’s help and decided she would give everything a rest. It was starting to drain her anyway.
“I’m glad you called, I’ve got something to tell you.”
“Uhn uhn, whatever it is can wait,” she whispered.
“No, I promise it’s important, Ms. Nadine. I promise.” He pleaded.
She shushed him, waiting until he was completely quiet to talk. “I’m gonna take a step back from everything and think about things. I sincerely appreciate you for helping me out with this. And I know what you’re thinking I’m not giving up, just taking a well needed break,” she explained softly. “You take a break too. You focus on finishing the rest of your last year. Okay?”
“But I think you should hear this.”
“I don’t, Thomas, It’s okay, I'm not upset, just in need of a break. I’ll talk to you later.” She ended their call ignoring him calling her name. Pausing things felt almost right to her, made her feel a little better about things. Now all she needed to do was get things in order and make a trip or two to the east coast.
Thomas stood frozen in the middle of the aisle in Target, staring at his phone. He knew he fucked up and when Nadine found out about it she was going to hurt him. A cart hitting his brought him out of his thoughts.
“Sorry,” the person haphazardly threw out. Her voice startled him but he smiled nonetheless.
“It’s alright, Moriah. Its actually good I ran into you.’
She turned to glare at him. “If I would have known it was you I wouldn’t have bothered to apologize. Leave me alone.”
“Don’t be like that. I just need a few seconds,” he called out following her to the next aisle. “Please, Moriah.”
“First, I told you to only talk to me at work if you had to. Second, I told you to call me Nurse DeBreaux. Third, I know Zay and Bronco made it very clear that you are to stay your ass far away from me,” she spat not in the mood. With her emotions till all over the place from her interaction with Josh, she didn't need this shit with Thomas to add onto it.
He abandoned his cart, going to stand in front of hers. “Listen, it’s serious. It's about the little girl who had hernia surgery. Both of our careers could be in jeopardy.”
“What?” She snapped. “Spit it the hell out.”
“I think she developed an infection from something we did.”
She laughed like it was the funniest thing she had ever heard in her life, tears ran down her face.
“What’s … what’s so funny?”
“You!” She laughed. “Don’t you dare try to put me in anything that you did, Thomas. I did everything just how Dr. Harris asked me to. You were the one doing things when he turned away.”
“I did not,” he argued.
She glared at him. “You hear what I said. And if you try to bring me into this, whatever Zay promised to do to you is gonna seem like a walk in the fucking park when I’m through with you. Now, move!”
Moriah pushed her cart past him lightly grazing his toes when he moved. She was regretting ever getting back out of bed to take Zilla his bag because then her head wouldn’t be pounding, her feelings wouldn’t be hurt and she would be resting like she wanted. Her mind wondered if it was all really with the trouble, she knew it was though she was just in her feelings. One thing she was sure of was that her and Zilla needed to have two conversations. One about Thomas and the other about their relationship and keeping his cousin out of it.

You miss him.
Last time you two saw each other was almost two months ago and although you know it’s the right decision to keep your relationship out of public it kinda hurts. Text messages, phone calls and video calls are just not enough.
You sigh and close the programs on your computer. Today’s workday dragged on even more than yesterday. And even though it's finally Friday, you can’t really enjoy getting off work early. In five hours, you're supposed to be at your grandparents' place, along with your parents and your two sisters - plus their boyfriends. Usually, you love spending time with your family, but seeing your sisters with their boyfriends makes you miss Jannik even more.
Jannik has been an important part of your life for almost a year now and every day you’re really grateful that you decided to take that trip to Rome for a few days of vacation a year ago. On the evening of the day you arrived, you decided to visit the Roman Forum and asked a young man to take a photo of you in front of the illuminated sight. Jannik said yes, and although the photo turned out to be amazing and the Roman Forum looked really impressive, you couldn't take your eyes off Jannik. You spent a lot of time together and the days ended with you and Jannik as a couple.
You’ve had long talks about how to handle it, and it was especially important for Jannik to keep your relationship private. It's the right decision, but it makes things difficult.
Yeah, you’d love to be by his side more often. Go to his tournaments and cheer for him. But most of all, you’d like to introduce him to your family and friends. Even though you've been together for almost a year now, there hasn’t really been a good opportunity for Jannik to meet your family - press events and injuries have gotten in the way so far.
“Have fun at your family dinner, Y/N,” your colleague waves at you with a smile, snapping you out of your thoughts. “Thanks, that’s nice of you!”, you wave back, pack your phone into your handbag, and leave the office quickly.
On one hand, it would be fun, but on the other hand, it would remind you that Jannik is missing. Your family knows you have a boyfriend and that he’s really busy, but they don’t know who he really is. Nicolò, your older sister’s boyfriend, would lean over to you with a grin again: “Are you sure your mysterious boyfriend is real? We’ve never seen him.” He doesn’t mean any harm, he’s just a jokester, but it still bothers you a lot.
Deep in thought, you push open the main entrance door of the office and step out onto the street. You work for a great company, right in your hometown. Since you know the way home by heart, you aren’t paying attention to your surroundings and jump in surprise when you suddenly hear someone calling your name.
You look up and suddenly think you must be hallucinating.
This can’t be real, it’s completely impossible.
"Jannik?" you ask, utterly confused as the tall young man with a bright smile walks towards you, "Is it really you?"
"Hi Y/N!" he beams at you, clearly amused by your disbelief.
"But...what...why...you’re supposed to be playing tennis!"
"Should I leave and go back to playing tennis?"
"NO!", you blurt out in shock, jumping towards him to hug him, "Oh my god, Jannik!"
The South Tyrolean laughs softly and wraps his arms around you too: "I’m glad my surprise worked!"
"Worked? I can’t believe it! Oh, I’m so happy!", you have to force yourself to let go of him - there are always curious eyes around.
Jannik looks at you with his bright eyes, his hands now in his pockets, his smile a bit forced: "I’ve got a few days off and came to see you as soon as I could."
You frown, "A few days off? Why?"
"My hip's acting up again..."
You feel your stomach tighten, "How bad is it?"
Jannik tilts his head from side to side, staring straight at the street. "Just bad enough to take a break from training."
That’s an understatement."
Your boyfriend presses his lips together and lowers his head: "Can’t we just be happy we get some time together?"
"Of course," you smile at him. You know how much Jannik’s recurring hip issues bother him, but this isn’t the right time or place to talk about it. When Jannik is ready to talk, you’ll be there. You’ll wrap your arms around him, rest your head on his shoulder, and he will tell you everything.
"I’d say we go home to my place and I cook us something nice...I went to the grocery store yesterday!" you suggest as you both start the short walk to your apartment. You resist the urge to reach for Jannik's hand and intertwine your fingers.
"That sounds like a great idea. Maybe we could try your grandma’s pasta sauce again? Last time we almost got it perfect and -"
Jannik's words make you stop in your tracks: "My grandma!", you exclaim, grimacing, "I still need to call my grandparents and parents to let them know I won't be coming to the family dinner!" You can already hear your grandma's disappointed words and see your dad's disapproving frown when you cancel.
Jannik looks at you curiously: "What family dinner?", he asks.
You let out a deep sigh: "My grandparents invited the whole family over for dinner tonight. I'll call and cancel as soon as we get home."
"But... aren't you excited about the family dinner?"
"Yeah, of course!", you nod immediately but then shrug, "But I'd rather spend time with you! I've missed you so much!"
Jannik doesn’t respond immediately, but you can see he’s deep in thought. After a few seconds, he finally speaks, his voice softer than usual. "We...we could go to your grandparents' together."
You think you’ve misheard and look at him in surprise. "What?"
A small smile appears on Jannik’s face. "I’d really like to meet your family, Y/N. I think it's long overdue."
Your entire family was, of course, absolutely thrilled with Jannik.
Later, your grandma would say: "Where have you been hiding this perfect son-in-law all this time?"
The family dinner went definitely differently than planned and so much better than you could have ever imagined.
Sitting among your family, laughing at one of your dad's terrible jokes, with Jannik's arm around your shoulders, was definitely the perfect evening.

Flowers (Valentine's Day Special)
Summary: It's your first Valentine's Day with your boyfriend Wonwoo and he wants to make sure it's the best Valentine's Day ever.
an: Hey everyone! This is my first time writing something like this so please let me know what you think and I hope you enjoy it! Sorry in advance if there are any mistakes, I may have missed some.
wc: ~2.6 k
Y/N’s point of view - T minus 3 days 'till Valentine’s Day
You just got home from a long day of classes. As you tug your shoes off in the entryway of the apartment you share with your boyfriend Wonwoo, all you can think about is changing out of your stuffy clothes into one of your boyfriend’s hoodies and laying on the couch until he gets home. As you make your way further into the apartment, throwing your bag onto the floor you let out a huff of frustration when you hear your phone ring. I guess my plans of relaxing are gonna have to wait, you think to yourself as you pull your phone out of your pocket.
“Hey sis.” you say once the video call connects.
“Hey! What’s up with the glum face? Rough day?” your older sister asks, her concerned face staring back at you through your screen.
“Is it that obvious?” you ask as you flop onto the couch.
“I’m your older sister, I can tell when something’s bothering you. Now spill. Do I have to punch someone?”
“Calm down, it’s not that big of a deal. I just got home from being on campus all day and I had a really long day. The group project I’m working on for my business class is taking longer than I thought it would and no one wants to step up and get the work done so it’s been like pulling teeth getting my group members to get stuff done.” you complain. “Anyways, that’s enough about my day, why’d you call?”
Your sister visibly perks and she can’t hide her excitement. “I actually called because your sweet brother-in-law just told me what he’s planning for Valentine's Day coming up.”
“I thought normally he keeps it a surprise?”
“He does, and it still kind of is. All he told me that he’s taking me on a trip somewhere tropical and warm for the whole week of Valentine’s Day.”
“OMG, really!” you exclaim. “I can’t believe he planned something so sweet for you!”
“Hey, he can be sweet when he wants to.” your sister pouts.
“Yeah, yeah, I know. When are you leaving?”
“He said we leave tomorrow, but he hasn’t told me anything else besides packing for tropical weather.”
“Wow, that sounds so romantic.”
You’re so focused on your conversation with your sister that you don’t even hear Wonwoo open the door to your shared apartment. He’s about to announce his presence when he hears your older sister ask, “So, has Wonwoo dropped any hints about any Valentine’s Day plans yet?” in a teasing tone as she wiggles her eyebrows at you. He stops with his mouth still open as he waits and listens to see what you’ll say.
“Not yet, but it’s honestly fine if we don’t do anything big and fancy. We’re both broke college students and I doubt he has time to plan a big lavish thing with his busy class schedule while taking up extra shifts at the bookstore.”
“Yeah, I get that, but don’t you have anything you want? I get that you don’t want to be a burden, even though we all know that Wonwoo sees you as the most precious person in the world, but if he were to get you anything, what do you want him to get you?”
“Hmm,” you hum to yourself as you think while Wonwoo stands at the entryway waiting patiently to see what you have to say. “You know what would be romantic? A bouquet of flowers.”
“That’s it?” your sister asks, appalled in your simple answer. “You’re so high maintenance that I thought you would say something like a necklace or something. Plus, flowers don’t last forever and this is your first Valentine’s Day together. Don’t you want something that you can remember the day by?”
Wonwoo, still glued to his position at the entryway, mentally asks you the same question. He knows you aren’t super materialistic and rarely ever take gifts from him not wanting him to waste his money on you (even though Wonwoo sees it as anything but a waste of money), but he thought that at least while talking to your sister you would say something special like jewelry. He’d been taking extra shifts at the bookstore to be able to buy you something to remember the day by.
“Yeah, I get that it’s simple, but I’ve never gotten flowers from anyone before.” you explain.
“I guess, but all you want is flowers? Nothing else?” your sister prods on.
“Well, I guess there’s something else.” Wonwoo’s ears perk as he makes a mental note to find the best flowers he can get you. You didn’t tell him that you’ve never gotten flowers before and if he had known earlier he definitely would’ve gotten them for you sooner.
“What is it?” your sister asks.
“We’ve both been really busy lately with work and school that we don’t really have a lot of time to see each other and spend quality time together. Going out for dinner or spending a night at home watching movies or playing games would be so much fun. I don’t even remember the last time we got to spend time together like that when we weren't exhausted.”
“That sounds really sweet, I hope Wonwoo will plan something like that for you.”
“Me too. Sis, I have to go, I still have so much work to do and I need to get Jihoon to focus on getting our project done as much as he focuses on making his music. I’ll call you later and have fun on your mystery vacation!”
“Bye y/n. Don’t stress too much about your project. If Jihoon doesn’t do his part, give me his number and I’ll give him a stern talking to.”
“Okay mom,” you joke as you wave and hang up on your sister.
Wonwoo sees this as the best time to make his presence known as he jiggles his keys loudly in the keyhole and acts like he’s stepping through the door for the first time today. You look up from your phone and smile.
“Hey y/n.” Wonwoo greets as he takes his shoes off and makes his way over to you. “What’re you up to?” he asks as he plants a quick kiss to your cheek.
“Hey Wonwoo. Not much, I just got off the phone with my sister.”
“Oh really, what’d you talk about?”
“Nothing much, she just called to tell me that my brother-in-law’s taking her on a trip to the tropics for Valentine’s Day.” you explain as you get up to make your way to your shared room to finally change into something comfier.
Wonwoo trails behind, listening to you continue to ramble about your day as he begins to mentally plan how to make this the best Valentine’s Day ever.
-----------
Wonwoo’s point of view - T minus 2 days 'till Valentine’s Day
The next day, all Wonwoo can think about is what kind of flowers to get you and what else he can do to make Valentine’s Day as special as possible. You hadn’t said anything about what kind of flowers you like when you were on call with your sister, and he couldn’t exactly ask you now because that would just give away his entire plan. He’s so engrossed in looking at pictures of bouquets on different florist websites that he doesn’t even notice when the professor ends class and everyone starts packing up their things.
“Hey, you coming?” Soonyoung asks him as he stands in the aisle staring at Wonwoo.
“Yeah, you’re blocking the exit and I can’t get out.” Mingyu whines as he impatiently taps his foot. “What’re you even looking at?” Mingyu asks as he leans down to steal a glance at Wonwoo’s laptop screen.
“It’s nothing.” Wonwoo replies nonchalantly as he tries to close his laptop before Mingyu can see, but to no avail.
“Really? Because it looks like someone’s looking for flowers to buy for a special someone named y/n for a special day coming up.” Mingyu teases as Wonwoo’s ears turn red. This is exactly why he didn’t want his friends to see what he was up to. I guess the cat’s out of the bag now. Wonwoo thinks as he packs up his things.
“Wow, I didn’t know Wonwoo was so whipped. Look at his ears, Gyu, he’s shyyy.” Soonyoung teases as Mingyu and him burst into giggles.
“Yeah, I was looking for flowers for my girlfriend, is that a crime?” Wonwoo asks.
“No it’s not, but it’s fun to make fun of you.” Soonyoung responds as the trio makes their way out of the lecture hall to grab a bite to eat at the dining hall.
“Besides, aren’t flowers a really basic gift? Where’s the heart? Where’s the romance? Where’s the uniqueness?” Mingyu asks as they step out into the cold.
“Yeah!” Soonyoung agrees loudly. “I thought you’re obsessed with her? I thought you would get her a bracelet or something. Oh, oh, oh! Or you could get her a necklace with a W on it like Troy gave Gabriella at the beginning of High School Musical 2! That scene made my heart flutter.”
“Well, Soonyoung, I’m not trying to make your heart flutter, I’m trying to make y/n’s heart flutter. And you two can complain about flowers being the least romantic thing in the world, but I heard y/n on the phone with her sister yesterday when I got home. She asked y/n what she wants for Valentine’s Day and she said flowers because no one’s gotten her flowers before.” Wonwoo explains to his friends hoping that they’ll be satisfied with this answer and they’ll drop the subject.
“Aww, that’s so sweet.” Soonyoung coos.
“But, you’re not just getting her flowers, right? Are you planning anything else?” Mingyu asks as they finally enter the warmth of the dining hall.
“Well, I’m trying to plan what else we could do. When she was on the phone, y/n said she wanted to do something where we could really spend time together because we’ve both been so busy recently.”
“Wow, she really gave you a step by step guide of what she wants.” Soonyoung admires.
“Well, she actually gave her sister a step by step guide. Wonwoo here was just lucky and was in the right place at the right time.” Mingyu corrects.
“I guess you could say that, but I still need to plan the details. She said she wanted flowers, but nothing about what kind of flowers and she didn’t even say what she wants to do together. All she said was that she wants to spend time together, but I don’t know what we could do together.” Wonwoo complains as they make their way over to grab their food.
“I would suggest you cook her a nice dinner, but that’s off the table since we all know you can’t cook to save your life.” Soonyoung says as they make their way to an empty table.
“It’s not like you’re any better Soonyoung.” Wonwoo teases back. “I’m sure I’ll figure something out, I want to make sure it’s something she actually enjoys.”
The conversation eventually shifts, but Wonwoo can’t stop thinking about what to do on Valentine’s Day.

Y/N’s point of view - Valentine’s Day
As you make your way back to your apartment after your classes, you can’t help but feel like there’s something off with Wonwoo recently. He’s been so engrossed in his thoughts that it’s like he’s on another planet sometimes. You wonder if he even remembers today's Valentine’s Day because he hasn’t brought it up at all. You decide not to get your hopes up as you walk out of the elevator. He’s busy so you understand if he completely forgot about it. Maybe you could get him to watch a movie with you tonight just to spend some time together.
“Wonwoo, I’m home!” you say as you walk through the door.
You’re so focused on getting your shoes off that you don’t even notice the state of your apartment until you step farther into the apartment. When you finally look up, you see it. There are tea candles all around the kitchen island, red rose petals scattered around the island, little paper hearts stringed together to make a garland around the edge of the island, and standing there next to this beautiful display is Wonwoo in a cute burgundy polo sweater and jeans. In the middle of the island sits a bouquet of pink roses.
“Happy Valentine’s Day!” Wonwoo says as he makes his way towards you with a smile on his face. As he reaches down to take your bag from your hands, he notices the tears welling in your eyes.
“Y/n, are you okay? Why are you crying? Do you not like it?” Wonwoo asks, concern laced in his voice.
“No, I’m fine. I love it so much, Wonwoo. It’s so pretty. No one’s ever done anything so thoughtful for me.” you explain, blinking away your tears and Wonwoo visibly relaxes.
“I’m glad you like it, but that’s not all.”
“Really? You didn’t need to do anything else, this is already so much.”
“This is barely scratching the surface. Now close your eyes, I have another gift to give you.”
“Wow so many surprises today, I must be the luckiest girl in the world.” you say as you close your eyes.
You hear Wonwoo pull something out of his pocket and a few seconds later you feel his hands gently lifting your hair away from your neck. You feel the cold metal of a necklace against your skin and shiver causing Wonwoo to chuckle.
“You can open your eyes now.” Wonwoo says as he fixes your hair.
You look down at your neck and you see a beautiful gold chain with a cursive W pendant. You look up at him with shock as you say “Wow, Wonwoo this is beautiful.”
“Really? I wasn’t sure if you’d like it.” He says sheepishly as he rubs the back of his neck.
“I love it, it’s gorgeous.” You say as you go up on your tiptoes to plant a kiss to his lips. “It’s like we’re Troy and Gabriella from High School Musical.” you joke.
“That’s funny, that’s exactly what Soonyoung said.” Wonwoo laughs. “Well this isn’t all, I still have more planned.”
“Jeon Wonwoo!” you gasp out, “How much more are you going to spoil me today?”
“Definitely not as much as I want to, but it’ll have to do for now. You don’t even know what I have planned, you can’t be mad yet.”
“I guess so. Enlighten me then Wonwoo, what else do you have up your sleeve?”
“I ordered take out from your favorite restaurant so we could have a night in together. We’ve both been so busy these past few weeks with school and work that I thought it would be nice to eat together and catch up on what’s been going on.”
“Wonwoo, that’s so sweet, I can’t believe you planned all of this for me.”
As you both work to unpack all of the food Wonwoo bought, you slip into comfortable conversation asking each other questions about your day. As you sit across from each other to begin eating your meal, you can’t help but think to yourself how lucky you are to have the sweetest boyfriend ever. As Wonwoo reaches over to put some food on your plate, you say “I love you.” as you stare lovingly into his eyes.
“Yeah? I love you too, y/n.” Wonwoo replies as he takes your hand in his and brings it up to his lips to place a chaste kiss on your hand.
Yeah, you’re definitely the luckiest girl in the world.

The muffled sound of drums playing in the background as Dean Winchester, middle sibling, was sitting in the 1967 Chevy Impala in black looking into a woman's house, but not just any house, Y/nWinchester’s. This was and is his older sister, they had been running the family business until their youngest brother Sam decided to run off to Stanford and try to become a lawyer and get his life together. After a few bad hunts of monsters, demons, and other things of the supernatural  Y/n decided to bail to try to have a few good years without her family being killed. Dean however kept hunting with their father, John, and tried to keep it going. But now it was getting bad, Dean hadn’t seen his father in weeks and thought he would be back at least a few days ago but still nothing, no phone calls, no connection, nothing. He had given up, he needed his sister and his brother on this one. Dean got the courage to go up to his sister's house and just stood at the door listening as the drums banged to the rhythm of Crazy Train by Ozzy Ozbourne and waited for the last beat to ring out through the house. He then banged on the  door hoping for a reply to the knock as Y/n from inside the house had gotten up from her stool settling the drumsticks on one of the kick drums and getting up to answer the door.
“Hey buddy look I’m not here for your christian mojo or your girl scout cookies, you can just go ahead and..” She tilted her head up. “Holy crap.. Dean..?” Dean gave his sister a sly smile. “Hey sis.” “What the hell are you doing here?” She questioned happily while hugging her brother. “It’s dad, he went on a hunting trip, hasn’t been back in a few days.” His green eyes looked directly into Y/n’s brown ones. “Come in.” Dean walked past his sister moving into the house. She wasn’t stupid, she had her house completely demon proofed and ghost proofed, the houses walls were made out of rock salt and the windows all had protection spells invisibly put on them. She knew her brother was actually him when he walked straight into her home making it past her demon trap. “Dean I know it’s you but I gotta take extra precaution.” “Wha-” Holy water was then splashed in his face, salt was thrown at him and she grabbed his arm and took a silver blade making a gash in his arm. “What the hell!” “Like I said, extra precaution.”  She then walked over to her kitchen, opening the fridge and grabbing two beers and walking back into the living room where her drumset was still set up and Dean was sitting on the couch.
“Here,” “Thanks.” “So what did you mean you haven’t seen or heard from Dad in a few weeks?” “I mean he cut the connection completely, he won’t answer his phone or even send coords.” Y/n’s face crinkled into one of confusion. Sure their dad did this from time to time but this time it was different. She took a sip of her beer and sat down on the couch. “So what are we gonna do?” “We?” “Yeah Dean.” “But I thought you went away from the job.” “Dean no, I’ve just been alone on the job. They still come after me. Always.” “Winchester curse.” Dean chuckled, taking a sip of his beer. Now Dean was only about twenty-six now making  Y/n almost thirty. Sam on the other hand was four years younger than Dean making him just about twenty-two. Y/nthen got up and went up to her closet opening the door and moving some jackets out of the way clicking a button that unlatched a door falling open to show her shotguns and knives. She grabbed a few stuffing them in a bag. “So what's the plan?” “Well I was thinking we could grab Sammy and then go on to find dad.” “Dean no.” “What do you mean, no?” “I mean the kid is settled with his girlfriend and he’s happy, we don’t need to drag him into this, yeah it would be great to see little brother Sam but you gotta understand Sam moved on completely. We need to let him be normal for once.” Dean’s head moved back slowly, his face wrinkling. “What?” “He talks to you?” “Yeah? What the hell? Why do you seem so confused? He called you, didn't he?” “No Y/n, I haven't seen or heard from him since he left.”
After some talking and planning the two decided that getting Sam and finding their dad was important as hell and needed to be taken care of quickly. “Alright we’ll leave at dawn.” She stated, as she had her back towards Dean who was sitting on the couch beer in hand as he watched her pack up. “You’re okay with just up and leaving your home?” “Yeah, it’s not like it’s the first time.” “Y/n..” “Dean, I'm not talking about mom.” She paused, taking a deep breath and turning to face her brother. “I’ve had to move and make a whole new life changing my name and everything twice already this year. I went from Jane Lendor to Lila Thomas to Jamie Lambert. This isn’t my home Dean. My home is on the road hunting, so yeah I’m fine getting up and leaving. I’ll just put my important shit in storage and sell the house.” Dean just decided not to pry knowing that his sister has probably been through a lot.
Morning had come around and Dean was already awake when Y/n came down the stairs, “Mornin’ sleepyhead.” “Shut up Dean.” He chuckled as she nudged him with her elbow. Dean was at least six feet tall, Y/n on the other hand was just about as tall, being five eleven and mostly muscular. She rubbed her hand over her face, yawning as she did so. “Are you ready to go?” “Yeah yeah just lemme get dressed.” Y/nran back upstairs and got dressed grabbing her bag. When she got to the end of the stairs “Hey catch.” Dean threw car keys at her to which she caught. “Oh ho ho.. Yeah.” She opened her door and saw the perfect 1967 Chevy Impala parallel parked on her curb and she threw her hands up. “Baby!” She hadn’t seen the car since she decided to leave the business and try to live a normal life to which it didn’t end well. She came down her driveway and went to the back of the car, opening the trunk and placing her bag next to Dean's circling and getting into the driver seat. “Oh yeah Baby’s back in business. Thanks for taking care of her.” She stated as Dean got in the passenger. “Well you would kick my ass if I didn’t.” “That’s true. Alright Sammy here comes your two favorite older siblings.
After a few days the two were right outside of San Jose and they stopped at a gas station, Dean went in for food as Y/npaid for gas and filled up Baby she leaned against the rear of the car opening her phone and dialing Sam’s number. His answering machine was what picked up.
Hey this is Sam Winchester’s Stanford phone, if you would like to leave a message I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. If not, my personal number is (406) - 866 - 1975, uh thanks.
“Sammy it’s Y/nI just wanted to let you know that I’m in the area and was gonna make a stop by your dorm. And just in advance, I’m sorry, it’s about Dad. I’ll let you know when I - We get there. See you soon Little Brother.” She hung up the phone just as Dean came out with the food.
“Pie?” “Pie. Who was that?” “Sammy.” “What’s he want?” “I called him. Give him a heads up so it’s not like we just barge into his life but I got redirected to his dorm phone so he probably won't get it.” She heard her brother huff out a laugh. “What?” Dean shook his head. “De.” “It’s nothing, just, why would he block me off from him but you he’s just calm and collected when you call, he picks up, he talks to you. I just don’t get it.” She then made a face and raised her eyebrows like she knew why. “You're not telling me something Y/n?” “Well it’s just I know why he’s not talking to you I mean it makes sense.” “What does?” Dean's voice got dreadingly low. “Well you were all for him getting out of the life but when the fight happened, and you took Dad’s side instead of his I think it really broke him up. Hell, it broke me up.” Dean just nodded. “So it’s a way to get over his jealousy is that it?” “Dean no. It’s not trust me if he were jealous he would have blocked me off too.” After that was settled it was about a two hour drive to Stanford’s campus. Quietly in the background was Forever Young by Alphaville. It was soft but Dean would catch glimpses of Y/nmouthing the words. He then reached over and turned it up singing along with it loudly and off key trying to lighten her mood. She then followed the same yelling out the words as they drove closer and closer to Stanford’s campus finally at the gate when the song ended she turned the radio off and grabbed her pass from her bag that was sitting in between her and Dean. Who started to get more pissed off at his younger brother than anything else he was feeling. Y/nhad a visitor pass? Really? The gatekeeper looked at her pass and opened the gates letting them in, giving her pass back to her.
They drove through the gates and she turned the corner and parked Baby swiftly in front of Sam’s dorm. Y/nsighed and got out of the car tucking what was a new piece of jewelry to Dean, a guitar pick on a chain into her shirt letting her moon necklace stick out above the shirt. She went up to Sam’s dorm door, Dean following close behind. She knocked and waited for a moment, after nothing she knocked again. Finally they heard the door unlocking and a beautiful girl with wavy blonde hair and a t-shirt with two smurfs kissing on it and sweatpants opened the door. “Y/n? What the hell are you doing here?!” She squealed and hugged Y/nwho hugged back. “Hey Jess. Oh yeah this is my little brother and Sam’s older brother, Dean.” Dean nodded, waving his hand. Jess let the two in, “Sammy is asleep right now.. I heard the door and I didn’t want to wake him. Wait Y/nweren’t you in Iowa? Don’t tell me you drove all the way down here from there.” “Looks like I did. I wouldn't if this wasn’t important, you think I could get Sammy up?” Jess nodded and Y/nleft her and Dean to sit in the dorm kitchen. Y/nwalked into Sam’s room. She knocked on the wall and Sam moved just slightly groaning something about how it was too early. “Sam.” She tried to not be too loud but to be just loud enough. Sam sat up in the bed thinking it was Jess and rubbed his eyes, his bangs mixing in with them. “Sam. It’s Y/n.” He squinted and leaned over to turn the lamp on. “Y/n? Holy crap..” He got up tiredly and hugged his older sister. “Sammy we gotta talk.” He looked confused then he complied and walked out into the kitchen to where he saw Dean. He then looked at Y/nwho gave him a ‘this is important so put your petty feelings aside for five minutes’ look. Sam decided to just give a silent bitch face and sit down at the kitchen table where Jess sat beside him with Y/nsitting directly across and Dean standing just to her left. “So what do you need besides coming to my house at nearly five in the morning?” Sam said clearly, directing it at Dean. Who scoffed and rolled his eyes. “Can you two not for like five minutes, Jesus what happened with you two?” Y/nasked rhetorically which Dean didn’t seem to get. “Well he left so.” “I left because I wanted out.” “Yeah, leave Y/nwith me and Dad.” “I didn’t leave to get away from you I left because I didn’t want to be stuck living off the road my whole life.” “Well you wouldn’t have had too if you just decided to help once in a while.” Y/nsqueezed the bridge of her nose closing her eyes knowing she's gonna have to be a big sister and butt in. “HEY! Jess, can you excuse me and my brothers for a minute? I'll get you when we’re done.”  Jess just smiled and nodded going into her and Sam’s shared room.
“What the hell are you two?! Cavemen?” Sam and Dean always shut up when she got pissed. “Okay Sam left, and guess what Dean. I dealt with it like the good big sister I am even if I didn’t like his choice, it doesn't matter I’m supportive of him no matter what, you know why? Because he’s family. You realize when you wanted to try out for the football team and Dad told you not too because we would be moving? Didn’t I sneak around and sign you up anyway? I did because you're my family and I care about you. Now Sam you need to realize that Dean is never gonna sit comfy about your decision because it’s Dean so you just need to realize that and deal.” Sam then started with the backfire. “Y/nI can’t just do that..” “TOUGH. Because you’re gonna have to. Now back to the worse issue than your little bitch fight, Dad’s missing.”

Fire On Fire
Chapter Three: July 20, Thursday, Izuku Midoriya, after school
“Wait, you have a girlfriend?” Uraraka gasped when she saw Kioko walking towards me, she had blown a kiss.
Not to me as always, she did that to annoy and embarrass me, and most of the time it’s just harmless, “No,” I sighed, trying not to blush, “She’s my sister.” I grimaced, waiting for the awful remarks about her.
“Why did she….?” Uraraka was confused, and Kioko was caught in some animatic conversation with someone on her phone.
“Blow a kiss? She does that to annoy me, it’s like her way of reminding me of all my mistakes.” I turned, she didn’t have to babysit today so she would want to walk home with me, “But, I’ll talk to you later?”
“So…Zez is gonna stay with us?” Kioko had finally met up with us, “Hold on Mom,” She faced us, “Ooh, is this your girlfriend? Cute, Mom wants me to tell you that I’m walking alone today,” She turned to Uraraka, “Have fun with your boy-toy.” She left, continuing her conversation with Mom.
“Sorry about her.” Uraraka was bright red with…..embarrassment?
“No, it’s fine….” We stood there for a minute going over what just happened, “Sorry, I didn’t mean- I mean I do- I mean, sorry.”
My phone started ringing, when I looked, it was Kio, “Yes?” I shot an annoyed look at Uraraka.
“Put me on speaker, please,” I did, “Kay, Izu is too wimpy to ask you out so yeah, if you like him just go on a date already.” She hung up.
“What?”
“She’s crazy, she-” Ochaco turned away, shoulders slumped, “I-I mean I d-do like you.”
She perked up, spun around to face me, and kissed my cheek, once very light, then she walked away, “Call me, okay?” Her parents picked her up.
“O-okay.”
-Katsuki Bakugou-
“Did I seriously walk out just to see….that? Come on, weak. If you’re gonna ask someone out, don’t leave them with a little peck and a hopeful call.” Kirishima said blatantly like he hasn’t been egging Deku on all year about it.
“Leave them missing what almost happened.” Kirishima looked shocked at what I had said. “What?”
“Since when were you the love expert?” Sparky came up behind us, draping his arms over our shoulders.
I shrugged him off, “I’m not, I’m also not wimpy enough to get my little sister to ask someone out for me.” Deku turned.
“I-I didn’t ask her to do that.” His face was beet red, good.
“Correction: I’m not stupid enough to let my sister know who I like.”
“Who do you like?” A combination of Sparky, Kirishima, Deku, and Pinky cried out.
-Izuku Midoriya-
Kacchan turned a light shade of red, he was glaring at the ground, trying to walk faster and avoid the question.
“Well? Who is it?” Mina asked, stepping in front of Kacchan, he stepped around her.
“She doesn’t like me so it doesn’t matter.” It sounded like he was trying to convince himself more than us.
“Who?” Mina was practically in his face, leaning so close it was betting against fate that she would trip.
Bakugou checked his phone and grimaced, “She’s burning the candle at both ends.”
“Who?” Mina kept raising her voice.
“Leave it alone.” He sidestepped her and just left, ignoring the rest of everyone’s questions.
-Kioko Midoriya-
I hated my brother, but I’m glad that he was able to finally get a girlfriend. And Zez is coming to Japan next year, she’s going to stay with us and she’ll probably end up as a third-year, but as long as she’s here….she’ll be my back-up. Mom had finished filling me in on all the details, and now I have to call her.
“Zez?” I had stopped in my tracks, Zez was right there, with her whole family.
“Kioko!” She tackle-hugged me, forcing all air out of my lungs.
“Yo-you’re crushing me.”
“Zezaria! Let go, show some decorum.” Her dad, a huge business model, is  terrible. He used to be a drunk, and he hated me.
“Sorry, dad.” She let go and I could see the tell-tale sign of problems at home, she couldn’t stop fingering her little charm bracelet.
“What’re you doing here?” I couldn’t contain my excitement.
“Mom wanted to see where I’d be living and check out the school, but I guess it’s your last day?” She looked past me, to someone behind me.
“Yeah, come on, I can pick up Akemi and we can get ice cream?” It was a question for her parents, and plans for us.
“Isn’t that Akemi’s super-model hot brother?” She was pointing to Bakugou, who was trying to get home without answering anyone’s questions.
“He’s not even cute, Zez-”
“So I can have him?” She loved joking about Bakugou but she knows that if she did, we couldn’t be friends.
“He’s all yours.” We laughed, but now they were almost here, Bakugou ploughing through everything and everyone.
“Is she in our grade?” Ashido, trying to get in front of Bakugou and failing.
“Do we know her?” Kirishima, looking very confused.
“Can I have her number?” Kaminari, looking very out of place.
“Kioko?” My brother, looked apologetic and then angry as he turned on me.
-Katsuki Bakugou-
Everything came to a standstill, Kioko met my gaze and I wanted to blast everyone’s head off. I shouldn’t have said anything. She’s hopefully not going to know anything about this.
“Why are you torturing Bakugou?” Kioko asked, a hint of disgust in her voice.
“I’m not-”
“We’re trying to find out who he likes.” Pinky interrupted Deku.
With this information, a grin spread across Kio’s face, a description of cruelty, she glanced at her friend and came to stand in front of me, “Easy, it’s the one person he should hate, but acts so gentle with.”
“But he’s not gentle with anyone?” Kirishima said, glancing curiously at me.
“Yes he is, you just have to look at it from his view,” She came right under me, “See the people around him from his view. Izu reminds him of times when he wasn’t strong enough. Looking at it like this, he’s really just a very calculating person.”
“Calculating?” I tried to make it a joke, and laugh it off, but it came out a lot darker.
Kiko moved away, closer to her friend, “Ye-yeah, you never do something without trying to think it through.”
Pinky and Sparky just laughed, “That’s hilarious, Bakugou? Thinking anything through?” They burst into laughter.
“Oh shut it.” I turned and left, I’m surprised I even stayed that long, most of the time they piss me off too much, and I walk away.
“Hey, Bakugou, is it?” The man standing next to Kioko’s friend called.
I glanced over my shoulder, he didn’t look all that powerful so I kept walking. Only to have Kioko and her friend pop up next to me.
“Is Bakugou your first name or last name?” The girl had her hair styled to match Kioko’s.
After a moment Ki said, “Last, but most people call everyone by their last name, not first.”
“Even if you’re friends?” The girl wrapped an arm around Kioko’s waist, pulling in slightly.
“Yeah, first names are more for lovers and families.” A soft blush spread through her face.
“I wouldn’t mind being his lover.” She stage-whispered, and I tensed.
-Kioko Midoriya-
Bakugou was not amused by Zezaria, if anything he wanted her to walk away, far away. Zez gripped my side, not in a mean way, I think she was trying to be nice, but it squeezed my ribs. Her acrylic blue nails made crescents on the skin.
“I don’t think he’s your type Zez.” I thought she knew that she could never like him, for me.
“What do you mean? He’s blonde, tall, and hot-headed, he’s perfect.” Zaria pulled me closer, too close for me to be comfortable.
“I am right here, if you want to talk about me, do it to my face.” Bakugou was not happy with her words, which didn’t make sense as they would be perfect together.
Zez let go to step right in front of Bakugou, “I would but the things I say might make you want to blow my face off.” She smiled, pecked him on the cheek, and ran back to her parents, “Call me!” I didn’t know if that was meant for Bakugou or me.
“So sorry….about that.” I sighed, I really wasn’t sure what all that had been about.
“Kem and you are going for ice cream today?” Bakugou didn’t even turn around to see her go, his shoulders relaxed and he looked calmer.
“Yeah, she’s been begging me to take her.” I started walking, if we were going to be able to go to Kemi’s favorite place, we needed to hurry, I had placed my order before it closed, but they only held orders one hour after closing.
-At Kemi’s School-
“Big brother!” Kemi jumped into Bakugou’s arms, he swung her around twice before setting her down.
“Hey there Akemi.” He put his forehead down to hers, “How was school?”
“It was really fun, and we need to get ice cream, do you want to come?” She kissed his forehead and pulled him towards the route we normally took for ice cream.
He looked at me, a hint of apology in his eyes, “If it’s okay with Kioko.”
-Katsuki Bakugou-
“Come on, we’re gonna be late, and they’ll eat all our ice cream!” Fake enthusiasm drenched her voice.
Akemi phased in and out of sight, seemingly teleporting from place to place, Kiko jogging along with her. I walked along with them until all the running made Kemi tired, then I carried her to the last block and all the way back home, she had white cream covering her mouth. When we got home, Kemi started on her homework while Kioko talked to my parents about Kem’s sugar intake. We were moving into the next year, and I never had much to do after school but, since Akemi came, I’ve never had a free moment. Kio finished and sat out on the porch, talking to her friend on the phone, she had a heated moment then hung up. I went outside to ask if she was okay. “Don’t. Talk to me.” She put her hand up, tears were pricking at her eyes.
“Fine, then I won’t talk to you.” I sat on the railing, “So my little sister’s babysitter has this friend, her friend did something really weird today and then I’m guessing they fought about it, so the babysitter probably feels bad and she doesn’t wanna talk to me but judging that since she hasn’t left yet she probably wants to talk about it.”
She sighed and rolled her eyes at me, a smirk creeping on her, “Your friend sounds kinda weird.”
“Don’t let her hear you, she’ll kill me for insinuating that we’re friends.” I shuddered, sixth grade still gave me nightmares.
She glared at me, “Hmm, flambe sounds more like it.” She lit her forefinger on fire, a small flame that flared before going out.
I gulped, she would go through with it too, “But last I heard she went to reformatory school in the states.” The same group of girls from before came around the corner tittering.
“I didn’t go to a reformatory school, Bunny.” She spat, fire lighting her fingers.
“What did you just call me?” The smaller girl asked.
“Nevermind.” Her fire went out, she grabbed her stuff and pushed me aside when I tried to stop her.
“Ko? You didn’t say good bye…” Kem opened the door, she didn’t like strangers, and the bigger girl was wrapping an arm around Kioko.
“Go inside, cupcake.” She was firm, so I pushed her inside, giving Kiko one last look.
-Kioko Midoriya-
He wanted me to cry for help? No, I would never ask him for help again. We stepped into an alley, and I knew I was in trouble. I backed up as far as I could, but the Inari kept coming, and I had no place to run. She grabbed me with a vise-like grip, pulling me close, and then punching me. I felt the pain of a broken nose, and then another blow to the stomach. I was bleeding, but none of them stopped, continuing to batter me until I couldn’t move. I lay there alone in the dark. It reminded me of the States, people would mug you with a beating on the street, here I was beaten because I was better than them. It was late and Mom was calling me, I let it go to voicemail, Dad and Izu tried too.
*I threw us into the flames*
At Bakugou’s ringtone I got up. I hated worrying everyone, so I called Mom, “I’m fine. stop calling me.” I hated how coarse my voice sounded.
I was about to hang up when I heard Bakugou’s voice, “Where are you?” I could hear someone crying in the background and Izuku was mad at Katsuki.
“Why isn’t Akemi asleep? And why do you have my mom’s phone?” I checked the time, I must’ve fallen asleep, it was almost midnight.
“She was asleep until your mother came over crying because she couldn’t reach you.” The phone switched hands, and Zuku’s voice came through, “Next time you decide to hang out with some girls, call first.” He had no idea.
“Whatever, I’ll be there in ten, love you, see you soon.” I hung up, Zuku had passed the phone to someone else but I didn’t know who.
-Katsuki Bakugou-
“Love you, see you soon.” She left my house at five with the girls, even if she got a beat down she should’ve been able to get home by at least nine. She should’ve answered her cell, and she can’t blame Kemi for being woken up by a hysterical woman and her annoying son.
“Who did she leave with again?” Deku asked for the third time, he was pacing back and forth, wearing a stupid All Might shirt.
“How should I know?” I did know, but I wanted revenge before he got all up in it.
“They were here, they picked her up, that’s how you should know.” His face was turning red, he was actually mad for once.
“Come on Kem-cake, back to bed.” I picked her up, her little unicorn onesie tear-stained.
“Is Kioko gonna be okay?” She was phasing, and I just needed her to go to sleep.
“She’s fine, probably just took a nap somewhere and forgot to tell her mommy and daddy.” I smiled, “No reason to worry, okay?”
“Okie.” She yawned and I tucked her in.
We sat in silence, the only sounds coming from my mother trying to comfort Mrs.Midoriya until Kioko came in, a black eye and broken nose, her shirt ripped and torn, cuts on her shins and arms, “I’m here.” Her voice was hoarse.
“Go clean up, Katsuki, Izuku, make sure she’s okay.” Mom shooed us out, Mrs.Midoriya had started crying again, so Mom was trying to comfort her.
We walked in silence behind her and when she stepped inside she slammed the door shut, not aggressively just enough to tell us she didn’t want to answer our questions. That didn’t stop me from pushing the door open, or stop Deku from opening his mouth, “What the hell happened?”
“Nothing. Katsu, can you grab me a shirt from Kemi’s room?” Kio turned on the water, splashing her face as I walked away to grab her a shirt.
-Kioko Midoriya-
My nose throbbed, I was gonna have to put it back in place. Izu was talking but I blocked him out, scrubbing the caked blood off of my arms before gingerly taking off my shirt, wincing as it pulled at the scabbing bruises. Since when did I call him Katsu? What did that heathen do to me? What did-
-Izuku Midoriya-
She was crying, full on sobbing as she attempted to scrub herself clean, but she either didn’t notice or didn’t care. I grabbed the bandages from Mrs. Bakugou’s cabinet, wrapping Kio’s wounds and stilling her hands. “Hey, Twinkle Toes, no more tears, okay?” I swiped away her tears and it’s like we were back in sixth grade, her broken body covered in her own blood, her mind in its own world and pure fear breaking through her tears.
“Yo-you haven’t called me Twinkle Toes since that day.” She mumbled, wiping away her own tears and somehow managing to smear more blood on her face.
“You look the same.” My throat was closing up, so many regrets from that day. “But you’ve always been the baby sister, so you’re Twinkle Toes, even if you didn’t manage to wriggle out of this one, kiddo.”
-Kioko Midoriya-
I leaned forward into a hug, no arms, just my head on my brother’s shoulder, before he pulled me into a real hug, rocking me as I cried, stroking my hair and muttering as usual. It felt like that stupid game had never happened, and we were still friends. “Put on a shirt, kiddo.” Came Bakugou’s voice, he saw the same thing we did, it was that day all over again, except this time, Kacchan was helping me.
“Not your kiddo, Bakugou.” My normally sharp voice was dulled by the hoarseness, and the tears.
-Katsuki Bakugou-
“Good, I don’t want another little sister.” She looked so vulnerable, a part of me wanted to join the hug, or take her from Deku. But the larger part knows I can’t, I can’t touch her. Grabbing her hand earlier was a mistake.
“Yeah, but if you’re gay for my brother here than you can’t really avoid it now can you?”
-Kioko Midoriya-
Izu pushed me away, lightly, not jarring me as I looked for Katsu’s reaction. His brain shut off. Radio silence as he stared at me, “I’m not gay. And this is getting weird, so I’m gonna go tell Mom you’re not gonna die so we can leave.” And he walked away, glancing at me before closing the door.
After I stood and finished cleaning up his brain must’ve reconnected with his body as he looked at me before grabbing my waist and pulling me close, he leaned close, “Sorry, sweetheart, but the girl I like is a firecracker.” My breath hitched in my throat, it’s not me. Right?

Kota was shoving his uniform in his bag, covered in sweat and in pain from wearing the binder during practice– God he really needed to stop doing that, it only put him in more pain. As he shoved the last of his things in his bag, he heard Kuroo’s voice pipe up from beside him.
“Kota! I’m going to Kenma’s after this, you coming?” the ravenet asked the younger teen. Kota shook his head.
“Can’t.. My dad came back from his business trip and he knows absolutely nothing of what I’ve done.” Kota responded, heaving a sigh from his nose. Kuroo gained a confused look on his face
“What did you do?” He asked, looking at the other, his head slightly tilted. Kota laughed slightly.
“Cut and dyed my hair, joined the boys volleyball team, started using the name Kota at school, the list goes on.” he said, recalling the events on his fingers before dropping his hand to his side, zipping up his bag and slinging it over his shoulder.
“And he has no clue?” Kuroo asked, looking at the shorter teen with this distant look in his eyes, like he was trying to grasp onto what Kota was preparing to deal with.
“Not one inkling.” Kota affirmed. Kuroo instantly looked worried.
“.. Will you be alright?” He asked, looking at his teammate with genuine worry– he didn’t want anything bad happening to anyone on the team, and that included Kota. Kota was silent for a moment.
“Worst case scenario, I’m kicked out, and I’ve already preemptively packed for that.” He said, gesturing to his bag over his shoulder.
“And best case scenario?” Kuroo asked, adjusting his own back over his shoulder.
“I’m grounded for a couple weeks, my phone gets taken, and I’m forced to do bible study.” Kota explained with a shrug.
“Religious nut?” Kuroo jokes
“Oh yeah. Big time.” Kota laughed, looking at his phone and seeing a message from his mother telling him to call her. “I should get going, my mom is already pestering me, I’ll see you guys later!” Kota said, waving to both Kuroo and the rest of the team who was still there, Kenma included. Kenma looked up from his game, gave a small wave back, before returning his attention to his game. Kuroo nodded, waving Kota off, before going to do the rest of the cleaning up in the gym. Kota pulled out his phone as he walked out of the gym, dialing his mother’s number and putting the phone to his ear, the nauseous feeling growing even more the longer it rang.
“Hey honey, are you on your way?” His mother’s voice rang out through the receiver. Kota hummed in the affirmative.
“Yeah, it’ll be like, five minutes.” Kota responded, looking around the evening scenery.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to pick you up?” She asked him, Kota hummed again.
“I’ll be fine mom, I’ll see you soon.” He answered.
“Alright. I love you, Akari.” Ouch. That hurt a lot.
“...Love you too, Mom.” and with that, Kota hung up the phone, dropping his arm back down to his side. A heavy sigh escaped from his lips as he trudged his way back to what was supposed to be his home– a safe place, but it hasn’t been that for a long time– just a place he goes back to. Kota knew his father was already waiting for him at the house, there was no telling what kind of lecture he was about to endure either. How lovely… which also meant his older sisters were there too… great, a fucking audience.
Soon, Kota got to the driveway of his home.
Then the walk-way.
Then to the front door. Anxiety coursed through his veins, he wasn’t ready for either outcome. He was finally happy for once, why did it have to be ripped away from him?! Why did he have to come back and ruin it all? Kota was finally happy with his life– and now it’s all going to shit.
Kota walked through the front door, calling out his presence. “I’m home!” He called out, shutting the door behind him. He spotted his sister, Sika, in the living room.
“Oh, Akari! Dad’s home!” Sika announced, Kota nodded,
“Mom told me earlier,” he spoke. “Where is he?” Kota’s mother appeared from the kitchen, dusting her hands on an already flour-covered apron.
“He’s unpacking right now, he wants to speak with you when he’s finished though.” She spoke gently, Kota froze. He.. wanted to speak with him? Oh no, oh no, oh no! That wasn’t ever a good sign!
“He.. he does?” He questioned, to which his mother nodded. “Okay…” He mumbled, before excusing himself to the bathroom, promptly freaking out in a group chat that held Kuroo, Kenma, and Kasumi.
Kota-Bug
What do i do? My dad wants to talk with me! He has no idea what i look like right now! I’m panicking..
Kasumi-Bug
Take deep breaths, Kota. If you need to stay somewhere else tonight after you deal with that, text me, I’ll pick you up.
Kuroo:
We have your back, Kota. Keep us updated and let us know if you need anything.
Kenma is typing…
Kenma:
^^
____
Kota looked in the mirror, setting his phone on the bathroom counter. Kota looked so much different compared to 4 months ago, like a switch was flipped. Kota’s phone buzzed, the screen lighting up.
Message from Kenma
Kota picked up his phone and unlocked it, clicking on the notification.
____
Kenma;
Are you alright?
Kota-Bug:
I haven’t seen my dad yet, but I can't hide in the bathroom all night.
Kenma;
True..
Keep me updated, okay? I wanna make sure you’re safe.
Kota-Bug:
I will.
___
Kota knew he shouldn’t be hiding from his father, but what other choice did he have? Be kicked out? Oh well, it’s now, or he sleeps in the bathroom tonight..
Kota walked out of the bathroom, and back into the living room, immediately catching his father’s eye, who was now present with the rest of his family.
“Akari..” His voice seemed so loud compared to how it used to be– or maybe it was just Kota’s imagination. Either way.
“Hi, dad..” Kota greeted, changing the tone of his voice to match how he used to be– a girl. Kota avoided eye-contact with the man, not wanting to show just how much of him had changed– however he was also panicking, he was still wearing the binder! Fuck! Kota sat down on the couch next to his mother.
“Your hair..” His father trailed off, Saki piped up.
“I like the short hair on her, it’s cute, and she rocks the black, don’t you think, dad?” Saki chirped, Kota glanced at his sister, was she trying to make this better, or worse for him?! He wasn’t sure. Kota could swear the shaking of his hands was noticeable to everyone in the room.
“I think she’s just going through a phase, Hachiro.” Kota’s mom said, gesturing to his hair. “I’m sure she’ll grow it back out anyways.” she mentioned, side eyeing him.
She was going to make him grow it out. He knew she was. Kota gripped the phone in his hand and stared at his family. His father hummed.
“I’m sure it is. Because if it’s that whole ‘transgender’ thing again, something will be done about it.” his father stated sternly, crossing his arms. Kota bit the inside of his cheek, he knew he shouldn’t say anything, but he was just so.. So angry and tired of it! Why couldn’t his family just let him be him?!
Was he simply not human because he was a transgender male? Why couldn’t they just let him live?!
“And if it is the transgender thing? What exactly will you do? Force me to be a girl, as if you haven’t been doing that for the last two years?!” Kota spat, glaring up at his father and finally making eye-contact with him.
“Akari Sasaki, watch your tone with me, young lady.” He barked, glaring back at his child.
“Why should I? You’ve never shown me a shred of respect. I’m done being the doormat of this family!” Kota yelled, standing up
“Akari–”
“Mom, don’t.” Saki interrupted, placing a hand on her mother’s shoulder.
“If you don’t like it, then leave. If you want to be disrespectful, why should you even live here?” He stated. Kota stared at him.
“Fine. I will.” Kota stated, grabbing his bag and making his way to the front door. His actions caused his mother to panic and try to follow him.
“Akari? What are you doing?” she asked quickly, concern written across her face– or was it fear? Hell if Kota knew.
“Since you guys shove my thoughts and feelings aside, and dad told me to leave if I didn’t like it, that’s exactly what I’m doing. Don’t act so surprised. I’m doing what I was told.” Kota said bluntly, walking out of the house. He was done. It was over. He could be happy, right? He paused and turned around to face his family, who had followed him to the front door, but stopped before actually waking outside.
“If you think in the future I’m going to come back to see you without any genuine apology from you guys, you’re wrong. I’d rather be dead than be forced to be someone I’m not. I hope you guys have a great life.” Kota snarked, turning and walking away, pulling out his phone and dialing Kasumi’s number.
Ring… ring… rin–
“Kota, you alright?” the blonde asked, Kota hummed in the affirmative, the adrenaline finally wearing off and the panic truly setting in.
“It happened.. I got kicked out. Er.. well more like I walked out.” he stuttered out. Hoping his voice didn’t crack.
“How far away are you? I can pick you up– it’s dark outside..” Kasumi spoke, Kota heard background voices on Kasumi’s end of the line.
“It’s fine, I’m not far, I can walk.” He told her “who’s that in the background?”
“Kenma and Kuroo were worried, so they came over. They both knew you’d call me if something happened. I’m serious though, I can come pick you up, you’re not exactly in the best shape mentally right now– for god's sake you just got kicked out, Kota. Let me help.” Kasumi pleaded, genuine sympathy in her tone. Kota was silent for a few moments before he sighed shakily in defeat.
“Fine, I’ll send you my location and stay put.” he said, pulling the phone away from his ear to send the location before putting it back.
“Stay on the phone with me though, just in case. You know some people are weird.” Kasumi said, Kota let out a small laugh, though still panicking.
It was maybe five minutes when a navy blue car swung around the corner and came to a stop beside him, Kota recognized the car instantly as Kasumi’s. He hopped in the backseat and buckled up before promptly bursting into a fit of tears.
“I-I’m sorry! You shou-shouldn’t have to be dragged into this!” He cried, burying his face into his hands. He felt so guilty– he did this himself and here he was– dragging three people into this with him. He shouldn’t have done that! They didn’t deserve this! Why was this hitting him so hard? He had been waiting years for the moment to be out of that house for good– so why was he so upset? He didn’t understand, which only made him more upset.
“Kota, don’t apologize. If we didn’t want to help, we wouldn’t be here right now. This is all on us, we're wanting to help you, dude. Take a deep breath, smell the flowers, blow out the candles, remember?” Kasumi soothed, driving off, “remember, breathe in for four, hold for four, out for 4, repeat.” Kota followed Kasumi’s instructions before calming down.
This was going to be rough on him, wasn’t it?
“Legally, you don’t have to go back, you’re allowed to move out. You can stay with me, or I’m sure Kenma’s parents would love to have you around more.” Kasumi said. Kota sighed.
“I know, I’m just.. I don’t want to force my way in anywhere–”
“You won’t be. I promise you. I’m so fucking proud of you, Kota. you’ve grown so much since we first met, and you’re finally putting yourself first. I’m so proud.” Kasumi praised
“Stop it, I’ll start crying again…” Kota huffed, rubbing his eyes.
“How about this, we get inside, and the four of us just relax?” Kasumi suggested, pulling into her driveway. Kota nodded.
This was going to be a peaceful rest of the night for him, or so he hoped.
Finally a new beginning for Kota Sasaki, as Kota, not as Akari, but as Kota.

Hundred Fourteen. Part 2
Tumblr media
I am tired, like literally tired. I told my mother I am in LA and she gave me work, I came here to relax but not Rihanna, she will make sure I work but then I haven’t had the chance to speak to Tianna because her ass is always on fucking set, now I don’t know how Damson got her on this but I would come when she is doing night shoots, I am shook for her but I thought I would see her on set, seeing as her ass hasn’t been home, I am there waiting on her, this week is going by so fast too. I have been here just three days and Tianna I haven’t seen at all; she is either asleep or here and I am shocked she did it, she said she wouldn’t. I asked dad where she is at, but he said at the house, she isn’t but then she text me telling me so I came here. It’s weird seeing the Snowfall cast “I thought I saw you” looking behind me “oh the guy that stole my sister, where is that bitch” Damson laughed “she is in the trailer. Why were you waiting here?” he pointed “waiting for her to text me back, she is right here” I pointed “yeah she is in this trailer” she is so annoying “how annoying, you stole my sister” walking to the trailer “I told her I would get her on this, and I did” walking up the steps and then seeing her asleep, looking behind me “I don’t know” he said “this girl is tired, she isn’t about that life” he laughed “she has been working hard though, what it is we have kind of finished recording but I said I wanted her to be on it so we sliding her in, but they having to work at a short schedule, she can’t hang” nodding my head “clearly not, anyways. How are you? Still around I see” he grinned “why wouldn’t I be, I really enjoy her company. Like the reason I did this is because then I can spend time with her, I am happy. Like Oakley message me and he said you better not be fucking this up, I am like boy what? Me and Ti are good, she is funny I give her that” I am happy with that “make it official then” Damson laughed “could say the same about you with my friend” he smirked “whatever!” I spat “you know you both destined to be, that little shopping trip making noise. You make it official then I will” rolling my eyes “nah, don’t worry about it, she is literally the only person I spend time with, she knows that” nodding my head slowly.
Damson is taking me around set, I am meeting the whole crew and team, it’s so interesting to see “the original peaches but I have my peaches, he is a little sensitive about this aren’t you” I sniggered “how is he replacing me? Tianna ain’t got nothing on me” he is looking behind me so I turned my head “Rylee!?” she spat “yes bitch I am here” hugging her “I didn’t know, I am so sorry. I had a power nap” I pulled a face “oh babe, that was a whole sleep” Damson said before I could “shut up ok, I am so happy you came here. I been saying to Damson I feel bad but today is the last day then I am all yours” moving back from the hug “well I have been missing you, mom and dad don’t even know? I asked them and they said home” Ti gasped “don’t tell them anything, this is a surprise. I said to Damson I am only telling them when he makes it official” she looked at him “get him locked down!” I spat “then I said when you make it official with my friend then I will, so we can be a four way” Ti side eyed him “so you making me wife?” Ti retorted “oh shut up” I swatted her “who? Wife?” turning to Damson “oh they on the last stage baby, I wouldn’t wait for your friend” Damson laughed “not Oakley, Cench doesn’t do wife. He barely does girlfriend, he is useless” Damson is laughing “are you serious?” he said frowning “that boy in love, love” I shrugged “I don’t know about all this, I am minding my business” I threw my hands up “damn, my friend hiding that side to him then” Damson looks so confused “Oakley is the most loving guy, in private. Of course” Ti chuckled “anyways, I will be speaking to my sister, let me know when you need me” Ti placed her hands on my shoulders as we walked off.
We both sat in the corner “I was meaning to spend time with you, but the night shoot took me out, as soon as you arrived I was gone but it’s done now so yeah” she sighed out “so I peeped the pictures of you and Oakley shopping, holding hands” my eyes widened “oh god, he did that. I didn’t, that was him. He held my hand, he was being so weird, he was scaring me. What if he does propose to me, that means I am wife, how does one be a wife? I just don’t know; he wants I think. He wants more kids too, Ti he literally sat next to me, and he was talking, and we got on the subject of tattoos, I think he bought it up or me whatever, but I said where is my name on your body and then he turned it to me,he said put CC on you. I was like mhmm nah but then he goes something small, he held my hand like this” I reenacted what he did “holding my hand and touching my ring finger, CC just there. And his gaze was so heavy, and he was so dead ass about it, I was like oh” Ti gasped “I would be scared too, he putting feelers out there. Rylee what are you going to do when he does? Oh my god, it’s there, that is so deep of him to do that” I sighed “I am going to be balling like a baby, it’s very intense with us. He is laying it on heavy, in the bedroom too. Like he is really doing it, like I mean it’s just so” I paused “intense, like the stare the movement. If I wasn’t taking a thing I would be pregnant right now” Ti cringed “you need to speak to mom, she has been through the worst of it and she is still here, I mean come on. Remember when we saw her after Junior, I was crying, and you was too. Just don’t rule it out, and personally” she paused “I never got to enjoy my sister being pregnant either, spoil you, and just everything. I think it will be different. I did say it to mom, and she said you’re being silly so talk to her, and if you being a wife you need to say it. Maybe she can give you clarity on it” she has a point “I will before I go and I mean before they go to Vegas too” Ti rolled her eyes “just headache that they are moving and leaving Imani the house to live in, she deserves nothing” I groaned out.
Tianna sat back next to me while passing me a drink “I just give up with her, she thinks we are the bad guys, we are stopping her life. She said we are the ugly sisters so I for one should understand” my mouth fell open “I know, and I said Imani, speak of yourself. I mean I am the one here with the sexiest man, please fuck off and then she said oh so you and Rylee can go around doing it. I am like anyone but that boy, we don’t care but we don’t want it. Then she said I sound like dad, I said I am being nice because if dad knew he would be fucking kicking off, she turned around and said oh he is coming LA” I pulled a face “juke?” I said “yes fucking Juke, things are serious” shaking my head “it’s making me mad; she knows I am here because she is ignoring my calls” I said “oh she does, she fucking said well I will be away then if Rylee is coming. She has no sense” I have to laugh “she knows I am about to tell her about herself. She does not know Juke, he lives off Oakley, he has nothing going for him, he tours with him and sleeps with all the girls, he is a bum! He has nothing, I fucking told Oakley I want him to stop letting him feed off him, cut him off. Is that what she wants for her life. Even Oakley knows his brother isn’t good, but she wants to think we are ruining her life” Tianna sighed out “ask Oakley if his brother is with him or here, I have a feeling he is here because she went missing but mom and dad are having the meal before they go so she said she will be there” getting my phone out “I can’t lie, I may hit her” I admitted, tapping on Oakley name and messaging him “I will message him, but I will ask. Imagine if he is, I can whack them both” Tianna and I laughed, we sound like witches but it’s frustration really.
Today we are going for a meal with my family, before they go to Vegas, I am sad they are going there but they will be back. Just hard work for me because then I will have to go Vegas to see them instead of just a drive “did Oakley text you back, whew I love your dress” Ti complimented “thank you bae, erm yeah he said he hasn’t seen him since. So I told him to go and find him, Damson is so sweet. Like you know me; I can be fussy, or something is off. He is just a good guy, what is happening with you both? No sex yet?” She hasn’t said much “well not yet, but should I be worried? Is he not attracted to me, but then again we made out and yeah, it didn’t lead to sex. I did bring it up with him and he said it’s not all about sex, just because we have sex it doesn’t make us solid, and he just said that he is waiting on a moment? Maybe I am just so used to being used? Is that it” I hate that my sister is thinking she isn’t good because of this “I feel like he is taking his time, maybe we use the fact having sex is clarification that we are wanted? I think so, just let it flow. I mean if he didn’t want you around he wouldn’t have you on set, think about it. You are beautiful, and I see the way he looks at you too. So yeah, don’t worry about it. I think he wants to pace it out, that is a good thing though” she is panicking for no reason “you’re right” she sighed out “I am right, you’re so pretty, and bitch I seen that you took my dress” she laughed out “how!? I saw it and was like this is from London and I need that” rolling my eyes “do not drop anything on my dress, did I show you the picture of my son looking like a farmer? I was livid” Ti chuckled “no! Show me” I am still thinking about it, in a weird way it’s cute but then it’s not, going onto Oakley messages and then seeing the pictures, I mean he is an ass he didn’t give the pictures I wanted but whatever “here, don’t scroll. I promise you, like don’t” she took my phone “nudes?” Nodding my head “I mean kind of, from him” Ti gagged “no ma’am but awww he is so cute though, I feel his white side bring the best out of him” I scoffed “girl” is she crazy, them folk are on some shit “I miss Aziel a lot, I wish you could move here” I smiled at her “I would but Oakley is happier in London, I can’t do that to him can I” Ti pulled a face “you can manipulate him too” I shook my head laughing “I can’t do that, Aziel is happy, he is happy. And I am too, sorry” I apologised, I know my family miss him and seeing him grow.
It is so nice to see my family, my mother actually looks happy to see me “now why didn’t you bring Big A? Not happy with you” my dad said “awww no, he has school now. I can’t be taking him out but if he could, he would be here. He is happy gardening with his grandparents in London, I think he likes them more” I joked, my dad looked offended “nah we the fun ones, don’t be doing us like that” I giggled at my dad being offended by it “I am joking, he loves you all but how you feeling? The big move to Vegas” my dad shrugged “I can’t wait, football is better there” of course Junior is happy about that “well I will need to visit the place soon, when I can with Aziel. Where is Imani?” she isn’t even here, see I knew that little bitch wouldn’t come because she is hiding away from me “erm, she said she is, last time I spoke to her she said she is coming but to have all my kids here. I am happy. Look at you girls” I grinned “you miss me the most” my dad shook his head “I think it’s a blessing you are out of the country” he is so rude “whatever, mom you seem so quiet” she isn’t saying a word “I wanted to stay here really, but I am not letting your dad go alone so that is why, I love my house so much, I love the peace of it so I am sad but we will be back” no wonder “still eyeing up my house?” she smiled at me, but that smile is giving yes “your home is next on my list, do not start” she pointed, my eyes darted to the door, the waiter opened the door to our private room and there walked in Imani and Juke “what!” Ti spat; my mouth fell open in utter shock. She got a nerve “this is my friend” Imani said to my dad “I know him, Oakley brother of course” she is the cheekiest fucking bitch, she is riding on this name sake like that “you’re joking” Ti said in a whisper.
Ti is gripping my hand to not speak “I need the bathroom” I got up, Imani smiled at me “nice to see you Rylee” I will fuck her up, I will beat this bitch to the ground “don’t even” I walked off “I will come with” Tianna said, I don’t want to ruin my dad day, it’s just so disrespectful, I just cannot believe she is acting like a total fucking bitch, she knows what she is doing “I can’t believe it” Tianna said “she is not funny, my dad is allowing this piece of shit there because of Oakley name, oh my god. He is sat on the table with my parents like that, I am going to kill him” walking off but Ti grabbed my arm “let’s just calm down, she is getting under your skin because she knows you want to talk to her, just relax, look at me Rylee. Not worth it, I think we need to let Juke hurt her” I snatched my arm from her, walking back into the room “Juke, get here!” I spat, my mom glared at me, she is staring so hard. I think Imani is telling him to not go but he will fucking come, he made his way over “you really here?” I said to him “I didn’t know, look how I am dressed. She didn’t tell me” he said to me “why are you here? Why?” I said in a whisper “she told me to come, your parents are away and just to chill, I like her” I don’t find this remotely good “you like the fact you can live off my stupid sister, you know what you’re doing. You know you won’t have to work ever, you got Imani in your pocket” I said “I like her” he defended “you love money, you love that. I know you Juke, you’re sat with my dad, and you fucked his daughter!” I spat “I am sorry, I can’t help who I want” he is doing this “then I need you to be a man and you tell my dad what you did, and that you will be in the house” we just stared at each other, he swallowed hard because I know him too well. He wants to be a kept man, this is what he wants, he will lose his brother once he is back home with me.

Diary of a Junebug
Tumblr media
Hickory rose coffee, tahini pancakes, and afternoon hikes
I feel like it’s been forever since I last visited Peace Coast Island, especially outside the city. Like Rosevine and Wizpire, I’d say that Peace Coast Island is another one of those places that I would consider a second home. Now that I’m back I really feel like I should come down here more - it’s one of those you never really know what you missed until you come back kind of thing. I’m not as familiar with the mountains so I really should take the time to explore the area.
I’m with Jamie - another long overdue reunion - along with Lisbeth, Frank, and Aisling, and we’re staying at Sunrise Bed and Breakfast. Jamie happens to know the owner’s brother, a hip hop artist who’s currently visiting family and helping out at the inn. I vaguely remember Anthony from somewhere - he says the same - but we can’t quite recall exactly. Either way, it’s nice to meet him again.
The bed and breakfast has been run by the DeFellipe family since it opened almost 70 years ago. Joannie, Anthony’s sister is in charge now so their parents can sit back a bit. They said if possible then they’d like to keep it a family business. It really is a charming place, simple but also unique in its own way with its homey vibe.
Out here in the mountains is obviously a lot different compared to the city, something I never really got to appreciate about this island. Most people stop by the bed and breakfast to explore the mountains and I can see the appeal.
Hadley, Chris, and Celestia often make trips up there to camp and go rock climbing when they have the time. so they’re quite familiar with this area. Maybe I should call them up the next time I show up here - they always know the best places to go hiking. It’s been forever since I hung out with any of the Starlight Fam, especially now that a couple of them are constantly traveling, so it’ll be nice to catch up with them.
Along with the scenery, another highlight of the bed and breakfast is the menu. As far as I know, this is probably the only place that serves tahini pancakes, which is why it’s one of their specialties. The pancakes are light and fluffy with a bit of nuttiness and bitterness. I wouldn’t say it’s a savory pancake but it’s less sweet than the usual. I can see the hype as the unusual flavor surprisingly goes with a lot of things. Me being more of a savory breakfast person prefer them with eggs and bacon but they go really well with fruit and maple syrup too.
Hickory rose coffee is another specialty and probably my favorite drink at the moment. It pairs well with the tahini pancakes along with pretty much everything else. I think I prefer the iced coffee because it tends to be a bit strong so oat milk and ice balances it out.
With Joannie’s permission, Anthony showed us around the inn’s kitchen. If I remember correctly, Amber Ross of Amber’s Kitchen, was a high school classmate of Anthony’s, and it was her vlog of the bed and breakfast that made this place noticed. Since then, a few more social media figures showed up and over the years traffic has slowly increased. Joannie says running the place can get hectic at times but it’s still manageable for the family and she hopes it stays that way. It’s no 5 star grand hotel but they make enough to live comfortably without having to worry about a lot of things or overworking themselves.
Paisley has been busy with Mount Barley, RFD, which has been renewed for another season, along with a few other projects on the side. She mentioned working on a book last year but that had to be put on hold as Mount Barley took priority. She still hasn’t made her directorial debut yet but I think she’s hinting at something based on some of her social media posts - and Robert’s too.
Frank’s still doing a bit of everything - acting, photography, video editing - he’s also started doing streams and hopes to do more of that in the future. For now, acting’s his main thing as he just finished a show and in a couple weeks he’s got a recording session and some auditions. For now he’s taking a short break since his schedule will get super busy later on.
Aisling is a friend of Jamie’s who I met a couple times but never really got to know. It’s been a little over a decade since she returned to the states so she’ll be staying for a while. She’s originally from Manila - her mother was from Cork and she spent a semester in the Philippines where she ended up staying and got married. Since her mother died shortly after she was born, Aisling was raised by her father, who teaches English, so she grew up speaking English and Filipino.
In college, Aisling went to study abroad in LA for a semester, which was how she met Jamie. The two kept in touch afterwards and a couple years later Aisling returned for grad school. She had originally planned to stay until she got her master’s degree but after graduating she decided to work for about a year to gain some experience first. Then she met this guy and a year turned into three. Before she knew it, she was getting engaged.
Unfortunately things didn’t pan out so well for Aisling. While running around preparing for the wedding she started feeling ill and initially assumed that it was a combination of stress and nerves. Later it turned out that she was HIV positive as a result of a blood transfusion she got as a child from a serious accident. She got lucky that it was caught early enough that she wasn’t in any danger as long as she followed precautions and kept up with her meds. Jamie credits Steve for helping Aisling, not just for getting her checked out as soon as he noticed something was off, but also for providing emotional support when things went downhill.
As for Aisling’s fiance, he was not so accepting much to everyone’s dismay. Apparently he and his family were old fashioned in the bad way so he saw HIV as a stigma. He ended up breaking the engagement - Aisling said she found out in the worst possible way when he got into an argument with Steve about her condition. Knowing Steve, he definitely called that guy out on his bullshit. He’s not just a kind and compassionate doctor, he’s also the kind of person who won’t hesitate to confront people with the truth no matter how ugly it can get.
Things got rough for Aisling after the breakup but in retrospect it was for the best. Jamie and Steve stood by her side during that time and she eventually got through it. Sometime later Aisling approached Steve about whether she’s allowed to travel overseas to visit home. He surprised her by suggesting that she move back home seeing that there’s nothing stopping her from doing so and he felt it would be better for her to be close to family. Jamie agreed with him. After thinking it over she decided to move back home, promising to return someday.
Now that she’s back, Aisling has a lot of catching up to do. Like her father, she teaches English, as well as Irish, Japanese, and Arabic. In terms of health she’s been doing well and hasn’t had any serious complications. Of course, one of the first things she did was ring up Jamie and Steve to let them know she was coming. Her first stop was LA where she’s been staying with Steve and now she’s traveling with Jamie for a while before going back to Steve’s and then home.
Even though she hasn’t left yet Jamie’s urging Aisling to come back again, preferably in less than a decade. Aisling says she can’t make promises but she hopes to return in a couple years. I get it, sometimes life can take us on unexpected twists and turns, so even when things seem certain, there is no guaranteed. Whether she returns or not in the future, I’m glad that Aisling’s making the most of her visit. Besides, Jamie’s the traveler so it’s easier for her to go to Aisling - which she has, by the way, but only for a short time as the visits had been in between travels.
After enjoying hickory rose coffee and tahini pancakes, we go up for a hike in the mountains. By hiking I mean we’d walk around somewhere until we find a nice spot to settle down in. The weather’s been warming up but not enough for long hikes so we figured a picnic is good enough. Along with food and drinks we also brought stuff to do so we can just chill outside.
I brought along my latest knitting project, a shirt that’ll be perfect for spring weather. It’s a seamed piece, something I haven’t done in a long time, so I’m starting with the back. The pattern involved half-fisherman’s rib, something I’ve heard about but never done before until now. It’s one of those things that sounds intimidating but it actually isn’t. The knit below stitch is new for me and it creates an interesting effect.
The shirt is basically two pieces that’ll be seamed together. From what I gather, the back piece is pretty much a big rectangle, so that’s pretty straightforward. The front looks like it has this v-neck shape with half-fisherman’s rib detailing that looks like I need to pay extra close attention to. I’ve only gotten about 1/4 of the back done and so far it’s looking good.
As much as I want to make more knitted garments I know I have to slow down for my wrist’s sake. I’ve been wearing a wrist brace at night and I think it’s been helping. I just have to remind myself that it’s important to pace myself and know my own limits. There’s no point in doing something you enjoy if you end up hurting yourself over it.
After working on raglan sweaters, it’s nice to have a change of pace and work on something different. Like I said, half-fisherman’s rib has been nice to work with and I think I feel a bit more confident about attempting full fisherman’s rib and brioche (are they the same? I’m still not sure as I’ve herd people use both) as they are similar.
I’m also interesting in trying short rows since they’re used in some sweater patterns I would like to try out. I’ve watched some tutorials out of curiosity and from my basic understanding, it creates a curved shape. As for how you do it, I don’t really understand. Then again, I’m more of a hands on person so it’ll probably make sense when I actually try it. Well, that’ll be something for later.
While I’m knitting - and journaling occasionally - Aisling has been working on a punch needle rug. I’ve always been curious about this kind of craft so I’m glad to see it in person. Aisling showed me the basics - she says she’s still a bit of a newbie with the craft  but she’s obviously had a lot of practice. Now that I kinda get how it works, I’m considering finally giving it a try.
Paisley brought her notebook and tablet to do some writing and journaling as well. She’s been busy with work so she needs time to unwind and a change of scenery always helps. Something about the cool mountain air seems to help clear the mind and reignite some creative sparks.
Jamie and Frank are really the only ones hiking around, though the rest of us join them every now and then. Frank brought his camera to take pictures while Jamie’s working on brushing up her cartography skills. I could never be a cartographer, not with my bad sense of direction. Again, if it were a bit more warmer, we’d be taking more time to explore the area.

Meeting Again
In this Jonthia story, following numerous meetings with Jonathan, Olivia confides with her grandmother during a trip to Paris. However, while there, she runs into someone she didn’t think she would see again
Tumblr media
Olivia’s POV, June 1960
“I must thank you again for joining me”, Olivia heard her grandmother say with a calming tone as she looked at the Eiffel Tower. “It’s been a while since we’ve done something together, don’t you think?”
“Of course.” Olivia agreed as she continued looking at Paris’ signature landmark. “It’s a shame uncle Thomas couldn’t accompany us.”
“He always adored the architecture, history, and culture when me and your grandfather took him, your father, and your uncle to visit.” Marie reminisced to her granddaughter. “But your uncle hardly visits anyone in the family these days unless it’s a major event and your father’s been so busy trying to ‘live up to your grandfather’s legacy’ as he puts it.” She sighed, “I just wish they took a break from all that stress.”
“My father wants me to marry that boring, dull, and stiff auror.” Olivia added on with annoyance to her grandmother. “I know you’ve not gotten the chance to meet him yet, but you know the type of people aurors are so often, don’t you? They are all the same it seems, always so vigilant, stoic, and acting with suspicion, it is such an overrated career.”
“But doesn’t your sister want to be an auror after she graduates?” Marie asked, raising her eyebrow.
“Yes but she will hopefully be an exception.” Olivia said as she thought of Cynthia and her lifelong passion, the one she dreamed of so much as she read about the stories of famous fighters against the dark arts. “She at least has emotion unlike so many aurors it seems, she seems more human if that makes more sense.”
Olivia had always been worried for Cynthia knowing how tough their father could be. However, every expectation she failed to meet, Cynthia had passed with flying colors. She watched Cynthia in the one year their times at Hogwarts overlapped. She could recall, even though their tables were on opposite sides of the great hall, her sister collecting a letter with nothing but praise from their father while, she rarely got a letter. And in the chances she did receive a letter it was often on the opposite side of the spectrum.
“Cynthia actually has been finding enjoyment in Jonathan’s company.” Olivia continued. “I suppose I should thank her, while our parents are inside, Jonathan will tell her about all of his auror missions while I walk around, admiring and tending to the nature the grounds around the Estate has to offer. Of course me and Jonathan pretend to be happily betrothed in front of anyone who isn’t Cynthia, but I’m not sure how long it’ll last… you seem to be the only one other than her I can talk about this to.”
“I won’t tell your father if you don’t want me to.” Marie assured her as she put a comforting hand on her granddaughter’s shoulder. “But this trip shouldn’t be just you moping around about this betrothal. I think I know what will cheer you up, I know a wonderful bakery not too far from here that’s been around for ages yet hasn’t degraded in quality, how does that sound?”
“I suppose I could go for something sweet.” Olivia accepted as she followed her grandmother’s lead.
~~
The trip to the Parisian bakery went quite smoothly. Olivia always found something quite charming about Muggle culture. Her father never said anything truly poorly about muggles or really anyone who wasn’t a pureblood, nor did he forbid her or Cynthia from making acquaintanceship with them. Olivia herself often found herself having very few pure blood friends since they found her interest in Herbology to be almost like an obsession at worst and a hobby at best. However father often drew the line at dating or even bringing them home during breaks from school.
Olivia rarely could reminisce about her Hogwarts years without thinking of her first friend and ex boyfriend, Garrett Tremblay, a Ravenclaw who was always near some sort of magical creature and always knew even more about them. He was also a personal favorite of their Care of Magical Creatures Professor. Despite not having an immense interest in magical creatures, she would sometimes join Garrett in helping their Professor care for them, especially if she was stressed and needed to soothe herself. However she often drew the line at caring for kneazles because of her allergies. Olivia hated the fact that she only broke up with him to live up to her father’s expectations when even then she knew it would be impossible to do so with her lifelong passion that she refused to give up. If only she had the strength to not give up a person she loved and cared for.
The bakery was located not too far into one of the isolated side streets. It’s exterior was mostly white and the building had tinted windows. The sign above the cream door read “La Patisserie Enchantée”. She remembered her grandmother explaining on the way there that it was visited regularly by both muggles and wizards in the area. Most of the items on the menu were recognizable to muggles so they wouldn’t notice and Magic of course was never used in front of them. However, if a Wizard made a request for a dessert of magical origin, they’d be happy to make it, although almost all of them had to be ordered in advance.
Olivia barely got time to take in the interior of the bakery before hearing someone from the corner call out to her, “Olivia? Is that you?”
Olivia hesitantly turned to see who was behind her. Despite not having seen the man in years, since their Hogwarts graduation it Olivia recalled the past correctly, she managed to quickly identify him. Garrett Tremblay’s brownish hair remained in the style with a mix of neatness and messiness as it had during their school days. He wore a casual light blue collared shirt, navy pants and grey dress shoes that matched his eyes.
Olivia only replied to him by asking, “What are you doing here?” trying to act considerate and compassionate.
“My father is visiting an old friend of his who resides here in Paris. My siblings and I chose to accompany him. In my past visits here I’ve typically stayed in smaller towns and we rarely travel to the capital city.” Garrett replied before smiling at Olivia in a way that she inferred to be his way of breaking the awkwardness. “Haven’t seen you since graduation, how’s life been for you.”
“Good I guess, my career in herbology is panning out quite nicely.” She shyly answered moving a strand of her black hair away from her face. “My grandmother and I are spending the next two nights in Paris before we visit some of my distant reatives in Calais.”
“You must be Garrett Tremblay.” Olivia suddenly heard her grandmother interrupt and turned to notice she had turned towards them. Olivia noticed the subtle hints of a plan her grandmother had by the look in her brown eyes but wasn’t sure if she was just being too suspicious. “If you’d like to catch up with my granddaughter and she’s up for it I’m alright with it, I know you two haven’t seen each other in a while.”
“That does sound nice, it would be great to catch up with an old friend.” Garrett replied and smiled towards Olivia. “Of course, as your grandmother said, only if you’re up for it.”
Although she figured this wouldn’t be the best idea, Olivia noticed that there was something in the air that made it hard to decline. Perhaps that was because she felt as though she hardly talked with anyone other than Garrett or her roommates during her school years and that number decreased following graduation. She remembered how Yasmina and the others even encouraged her to at the very least to write to Garrett and try to form a platonic relationship after their breakup but she declined each time. Eventually Olivia finally found the courage to accept with a simple “Sure”, she then turned to her grandmother, “I guess I’ll meet up with you in a couple of hours.”
~~
“So, your father is still trying to turn you into his ‘perfect daughter’?” Garrett asked as they walked side by side pass the various Parisian shops. Although there was still a considerable amount of physical distance between the two.
“He’s tried to get me multiple dueling tutors over the years and I’ve made little progress.” Olivia informed him. “Not that I mind of course but now I suppose he’s given up on that solution though as now he wants me to marry some plain pureblood. Do you remember Jonathan Midway?”
“Not particularly.” Garrett admitted.
“When he was at Hogwarts he was a Gryffindor who was two years above us.” Olivia explained as she found herself turning it into complaining. “All he ever talks about is dueling, the ministry, or his auror missions, it’s hardly different from what I hear at home… in fact, that’s all I hear about from anyone these days that has any connection with my family.”
“I think I remember Henrietta talking about him once.” Garrett noted, referring to his older sister. “She would have been in his year. I know she did share some Defense Against the Dark Arts classes with him, Emmett did as well. And if I recall, I think Emmett’s-“
“Let’s not delve into the Midways more than we must.” Olivia interrupted, looking up at the Eiffel Tower as she approached it once more, with Garrett by her side this time.
“Alright…” Garrett nodded. “I would not want to dampen the mood after all. I get the interpretation that this holiday is quite freeing for you, isn’t it.”
“It is.” Olivia softly beamed in his direction, but kept her eyes upward rather than him, not wanting to tread into dangerous waters by following the temptations that were whispering louder by the second. “My grandmother knows how I feel about Jonathan and has even tried to convince my father to let me make my own decisions about my life but he refuses to listen. I believe this betrothal is set in stone and will be my future and… I don’t know…”
“Pureblood standards and expectations are outdated.” Garrett began, “And I am grateful everyday that my father does not hold the same expectations his parents had for him. Yet even he followed his heart in the end when he left France to be in Ireland with my mother.”
“Your father has the courage I lack.” Olivia murmured. She knew Garrett’s father went to Beauxbatons but if he had gone to Hogwarts perhaps he would have been amongst the courageous lions, for so few people were brave enough to chart new territory. She remembered how fondly her Great Aunt Gladys would speak of the courage of Gryffindors in such an admirable fashion. And she remembered even before her Hogwarts days, visiting Wotton Manor and hearing the inspiring stories from Georgiana Wotton that she had felt she wouldn’t be upset if she wore the red and gold ties. Perhaps even father would not have mind, since he did seem to have much higher opinions of the Gryffindors and Ravenclaws than the Hufflepuffs, even if the Slytherins reigned supreme. “Don’t you get it?”she looked directly at Garrett, “I… I never stopped loving you… and I did not want any of this to happen but I convinced myself I had no other option and still feel convinced that is the case. How can I stand up for myself now when I couldn’t before.”
Garrett looked at her in stunned silence as Olivia realized what she just said and felt her face turn to an embarrassed shade of red. “S-sorry for saying that...” She quickly apologized, “I-I should leave.”
Suddenly, Garrett put his hand on her shoulder, and she looked at him and his earnest smile. “Don’t, please, I still love you to you know… and I have never been able to find it in me to love another. I believe we can find a way to be together again.”
“And how do you think we should go about that?” Olivia asked him. “I know you haven’t met my parents but you know how stubborn pure blood parents are when it comes to betrothals.”
“I don’t have a plan yet.” Garrett admitted. “But love can find a way”

Christmas Market - Maya Le Tissier x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: While at a the local Christmas Market with your siblings you run into an old friend.
A/N: Requested by an Anon. This is the final holiday fic, might also be the last fic of the year, we'll see.
Ever since you and your siblings moved away for uni, there hasn’t really been much reason for you to go home and see your parents.
To be fair, normally it’s your parents coming to see the three of you in America but for some reason, this year they insisted that you all come home to ‘preserve tradition’ or some other nonsense.
Preserving tradition is the reason why you’re currently trapezing through the local Christmas market with your brother and sister.
“Y/N, do you remember when we were like 12 or 13 and we got locked out of the house, so you climbed in through the 2nd-floor window,” your brother, Lennox, asks while walking backward.
“It happened more than once,” you say, laughing when he trips and stumbles backward.
“I remember Old Man Laurent was so angry every time he came outside to walk his dog and he’d see you on the roof,” your sister, Stevie, says, “It always turned into a lecture.” She lowers her voice to imitate your neighbor, “You damn Y/L/N triplets, just wait till I tell your parents about this.”
The three of you burst into laughter that is quickly stopped when you hear a familiar voice call out, “If it isn’t the Y/L/N triplets.”
“Hi Mr. Laurent,” the three of you say in unison, immediately moving to stand in a straight line, oldest to youngest, just like when you were kids.
“What are the three of you troublemakers doing at the market,” the elderly man asks.
“We’re gonna take a picture with Santa to surprise our mum with,” you answer.
“I suppose someone ought to warn the jolly fella then because if I recall correctly the three of you were always topping the naughty list.
“No sir,” Lennox says, “We were always perfect angels.”
“Tell that to the Jones boy, he still walks with a limp all these years later,” Mr. Laurent says while stroking his beard.
“At 18, he had no business trying to bully three 11-year-olds,” Stevie says, “Now if you don’t mind, Santa isn’t going to be here all night, I’ve heard he’s a very busy man.”
With that, your sister grabs you and Lennox by the hand and begins dragging you to join the line to meet St. Nick.
“Steve,” you begin when you’re far enough from Mr. Laurent, “Can you let go now, you’re hurting us.”
“Please,” your brother adds.
With an overly dramatic groan, Stevie lets go of your hands, much to your relief.
Unfortunately, your sister’s dramatics continue for the entire time you wait in line, but she manages to pull it together as you approach the man in the red suit.
Said man seems very shocked to see three 20-year-olds coming to take a photo with him.
“Happy Christmas, you three,” he says, “I suppose that you’ll be wanting a photo and to tell me what you want for Christmas.”
“That’s the plan, “ Lennox responds.
“And will it be one of the young ladies taking a seat on my lap?”
“No, he will,” you and your sister say simultaneously.
The man lets out a nervous laugh but doesn’t say anything as Lennox sits directly in his lap.
The photo portion is very quick but when he asks what presents you want, you get the express pleasure of watching him grow angry with each of your requests.
A weed grinder for Lennox.
A scent-proof case for Stevie.
And most importantly, flavored rolling papers for you.
“Gifts that we can share, we are triplets,” you say with a cheeky grin.
That’s the final straw for Market Santa as he all but shoves Lennox off him and sends you to collect your photos with strict instructions to not return.
As the three of you walk away, howling with laughter, you trip doing the same thing Lennox was doing earlier: walking backward.
Except instead of just hitting the ground as he did, you find yourself in the arms of the person you ran into.
Scrambling to stand under your own power, you turn around to apologize only to be stopped by your own shock.
“Hey, sorry about that,” you say before cutting yourself off, “Maya? What’re you doing here?”
“Hey y/N, long time no see,” your childhood friend says before acknowledging your siblings, “Hi Stevie and Lennox.”
“Sup Maya.”
“So L.T. what brings you back to this little island, shouldn’t you be off winning football matches somewhere,” you ask.
“Season’s on pause for the holidays,” she answers, “Besides I always come home for the holidays, it’s the three of you that don’t.”
You, Lennox, and Stevie have enough sense to look guilty.
“Well we’ve never been known for our decision-making skills,” Stevie says.
“The Y/L/N Triplets the whole island was always worried about the next thing that you would get into.”
“Well give it a couple of hours and everyone will know what we asked Santa for,” Lennox laughs.
“Oh god, was that you guys that got escorted away just now,” Maya asks with a grimace, “Wait, isn’t your family Jewish?”
“We’re under strict instructions from our lawyers to not incriminate ourselves,” you tell her, “But may if you come to get hot chocolate with us.”
“Yea, Y/N/N is paying,” your brother says from behind you, pushing your shoulder.
“Yup, my treat.”
“Well, if it’s your treat then I guess I have to come with you,” she says, sending a bright grin in your direction.
The four of you continue along the path to the hot chocolate stand, where you somewhat begrudgingly pay for your siblings’ drinks. Drinks that they annoyingly put a million extra priced additions into.
Warm beverages in hand, your small group finds an empty table to occupy.
“So outside of harassing market Santas, what have you three been up to,” Maya asks once you’re all settled, “My dad said that you guys left for uni in the States.”
“Yea, New Mexico,” Lennox says, “It sucks out there.”
“You say that every day and yet somehow I’m the only one with enough balls to drop out.,” you laugh before taking a sip of your drink.
“Ok, Y/N, sorry we can’t all be talented at punching people in the face,” Stevie snarks.
“Back up a second,” Maya says, both staving off the inevitable argument and re-inserting herself into the conversation, “Y/N, you dropped out? I thought you wanted to be a doctor?”
“School just wasn’t for me, I’m training for the UFC now.”
“More like you were irrationally heartbroken over a girl who still doesn’t know you’re in love with her,” Lennox mumbles seconds before a loud thud is heard, presumably from Stevie kicking him.
“Len, didn't you say you wanted to get your girlfriend a souvenir while we were here,” she asks him standing up.
“What? No.”
“Yes you did, come on.”
Stevie doesn’t give him much say in the matter as she actually drags him from his seat and away from the table.
After watching them walk away for a while, Maya turns back to you and speaks.
“Do they know that they’re not subtle at all or do they know and just not care?”
“Steve knows but she could not care less,” you answer, “and Len, well, he’s been dense as a crate of bricks our whole lives.”
That gets you the laugh you were hoping for, it breaks the tension and suddenly you’re 15 again, sneaking away from your siblings to watch her run circles around the boys on the local team.
“That does explain a lot of what he did while we were in school,” she says when she stops laughing, “But it doesn’t explain what he meant when he said you’re heartbroken over someone who doesn’t know that you love them.”
“I have no idea what he was talking about,” you say, feeling your cheeks heating up.
“Lennox might be dense but you’re a terrible liar.”
“So I’ve been told.”
“I’ll make you a deal,” Maya says, Leaning across the table toward you and staring directly into your eyes.
“Your mom ever tell you not to make deals with the devil?”
“She might’ve mentioned it once or twice but hear me out,” she says, “If you tell your girl how you feel, I’ll come to your first professional fight, no matter what.”
“Ok so I get to embarrass myself twice, cool but no deal,” you say, eyes still on hers, leaning forward in return.
“You’re being dramatic.”
“No, I’m not,” you retort, “What would I even say: Hey, I’ve been in love with you since we were kids. Would you let me take you on a date even though we live on different sides of the planet?”
“Yup.”
“Just like that?”
“Just like that,” she confirms.
“Alright, Maya, I’ve been in love with you since we were kids. Would you let me take you on a date even though we live on different sides of the planet?”
You can tell that you’ve caught her off guard but as she goes to respond your siblings come rushing over.
“Y/N/N, look what we found,” Lennox shouts, holding something in his hand in the space above you and Maya’s heads, “Mistletoe!”
“Do you know who you want to write your Eulogy because I’m going to,” you’re cut off by the feeling of soft lips pressing against your cheek.
Turning your head, you stare wide-eyed as Maya settles back into her seat.
“I’ll kiss you for real when you take me on a real date,” she says with a smirk settling on her face. “Tonight doesn’t count, it wasn’t planned and Stevie and Lennox were here nearly the whole time.”
“Fair enough.”

Bring Me to Life
Part Twelve - Patience is the Greatest Virtue
(Sorry for such a slow update! Haven’t had a lot of time or motivation but I think it’s coming back! Hope you enjoy this chapter! Thank you for reading!!!)
It’s been a few weeks since Y/N reported the incident that happened in the classroom to her boss. Bucky convinced her she needed to or else he was going to do it himself.
Y/N hates confrontation but if she feels unsafe in her own classroom, she knows something has to be done about it. Everyday since, Bucky has made sure he’s there when Y/N gets off of work and makes sure he is safely in her car. Bucky doesn’t know why he never did this before since he gets to see his two favorite girls more.
Bucky is on high alert lately, wanting to keep both of his girls safe. He’s even looked up self defense classes for Y/N but she hasn’t been too keen on the idea.
“I think you should really do this darling.” Bucky is trying to convince Y/N as they pack for their trip.
“I really don’t want to talk about this right now.” Y/N deflects any response to his pleas.
“I just want you to be safe. I can’t be with you 24/7 and I want to make sure you can defend yourself. It scares me knowing what happened and that it could happen again.” He walks over to her and wraps his arms around her waist.
“I know. I just wish it was all different. Not just for me but for everyone who has ever been assaulted.”
“I do too.” Bucky leans in and kisses her head.
“Let’s just forget it for now please and have a good trip. This is our first Thanksgiving together.” Y/N turns around in his arms and smiles softly.
“I love having all these firsts with you.” He kisses the tip of her nose.
“Me too. It’s all I’ve ever wanted.” She whispers before leaning up on her tiptoes and pressing a loving kiss to his lips.
“Mommy! Daddy! When are we leaving?” Asteria yells before barging into the bedroom. “Ew, were you just kissing.” Her face scrunches up in disgust.
“Was hoping to do a little more than that.” Bucky mumbles and Y/N scoffs, hitting him playfully on the chest.
“Stop it.” Y/N scolds him and he laughs, moving to grab their bags. “We’re leaving in a few minutes. Did you get everything packed?” Asteria nods. “Okay, go put your shoes on.” Asteria runs out of the room without another word.
“She’s getting too big.” Y/N sighs while putting on her shoes and jacket.
“She is. I can’t believe how much she has grown and I’m definitely not ready for it.” Bucky replies.
“Just wait until her teenage years.” Y/N laughs, helping him with the bags.
“Don’t even start with that.” He gives Y/N a pointed look.
“Oh come, it’s inevitable. You’re gonna have to get over it now.” Y/N leans over and kisses his cheek and Bucky scoffs.
“Now I don’t want to talk about this.” Bucky repeats Y/N’s words and walks out of the room. Y/N laughs, following him.
On the way to her sisters, Y/N couldn’t help but think about having a baby. Y/N saw the look in Bucky’s eyes as he worried about Asteria getting older. It made her really start to think about having kids with Bucky. He’s such an amazing father and the only man she would ever want to have kids with. She can’t help but wonder if it’s the right time.
Tumblr media
“Has Dad said he’s coming?” Y/N asks Liz as they start prepping everything for dinner tomorrow.
“I called earlier but got his voicemail. I’ll try again later. You know how busy he is.”
“Yeah and I also know how horrible he is with time. We should probably tell him that dinner is a couple hours earlier than it really is and then maybe he’ll actually be on time.”
“Yeah you’re right. I’ll make Paul do it”
“Make Paul do what?” He walks into the kitchen with Bucky right behind him.
“Call my dad and tell him dinner is at 12.” Liz instructs her husband while cutting up fruit.
“But it’s not until 2.” Paul grabs a piece of fruit and pops it in his mouth.
“You know how he is with time. Always late to everything.”
“I never noticed that.” Paul comments.
“Are you kidding me!” Liz turns to face him. “Do you not remember our five year anniversary and he was supposed to meet us to pick up the kids and he was two hours late and we missed our flight making us have to reschedule the whole thing.”
Y/N leans against the counter and sips her wine, with a small smile on her face. Once you mess with Liz, there’s no coming back from it. She will always win the argument. Y/N learned this when they were teenagers.
“Alright, alright. I concede.” Paul holds up his hands before slowly backing out of the kitchen.
“You better call him!” Liz yells after him.
“I’m doing it right now.” Paul shouts back, then the sounds of the living room TV comes through.
“Ugh, men.” Liz mumbles, looking at Y/N to get her approval.
“Sorry sis, I think mine is pretty great.” Y/N looks at Bucky, who's standing next to her, beer in hand.
“For now.” Liz replies before walking out of the kitchen to scold Paul some more.
“Do you think we’ll ever get to that point?” Y/N moves to stand in front of Bucky, arms around his waist.
“Oh yeah for sure,” Bucky moves Y/N’s hair away from her face. “Then we’ll make up in the best ways possible.” He leans down, pressing a kiss against her neck.
“Hmm, and what ways are those?” She leans in closer to his face.
“Well, we already did it on the couch and in our bed. I guess the next place is to fuck you on the kitchen counter and the table.” Bucky pauses, gauging her reaction. “Then I’d eat your gorgeous pussy until you’re begging me to stop and choke you with my big cock that I know you love so much.” Bucky brings his thumb to her lips, tracing them softly. “God how I love seeing these beautiful lips around me, stuffing your throat until you can’t breathe. You love too, don’t you darling?” Y/N nods, as Bucky’s eyes fall to her chest, noticing the increasing rise and fall. “I want to fall asleep with the taste of you on my tongue every night.”
“Why do you have to be so damn perfect?” Y/N sighs, resting her face against his chest. She is wet just from his words, lord knows how much wetter she will get once he starts touching her.
“You have no idea how much I want to take you home and get those damn clothes off of you and kiss every inch of your skin.” Bucky whispers against her ear, making her shiver.
“Alright, stand down boy. I guess you’ll have to wait a few days.” Y/N turns to walk away but Bucky holds her tighter.
“Are you seriously denying me?” He presses his hard cock against her thigh. Y/N can’t help but let out a tiny moan, biting her lip.
“I know a place. After everyone is asleep, meet me outside okay?”
“I’m counting down the second darling.” Bucky plants a deep kiss on her lips before leaving her flushed in the kitchen.
Tumblr media
It’s almost midnight and all the kids are passed out. Liz and her husband went to bed half an hour ago. Y/N is waiting out on the front porch for Bucky. She has not been able to stop thinking about all the things he said earlier. She’s never had someone who wanted her this much. Who puts in the effort to make her feel good, really good and makes her feel safe. She’s always wanted a relationship like this and she can’t believe she has it.
She’s going to cherish it forever.
“Hey.” Y/N stands up from the porch swing once Bucky steps out, quietly shutting the front door.
“Hi.”
“So, where is this place you know of?”
“You’ll see.” Y/N takes his hand and leads the way down the driveway and onto the sidewalk.
“We used to live a few neighborhoods away and I would always go for a walk in the woods to find a quiet place to read. I found an amazing spot with the most beautiful trees.”
“Ever bring anyone else here?” Bucky asks as he helps Y/N carefully walk down a hill.
“Nope. You’re the first.” She smiles brightly as she climbs another hill, getting to the top of the hill.
“I’m so glad to be your first.” Bucky wraps his arms around her waist once he makes it to the top with her.
“Oh stop.” Y/N nudges him playfully and giggles. “Isn’t it so pretty out here? I’ve never actually been out here at night.”
“The most beautiful view.”
Y/N turns around in Bucky’s arm, noticing he’s looking at her. She shakes her head lightly with a smile. She wraps her arms around Bucky’s neck.
“Do you want to have a baby?” Y/N surprises herself as she asks Bucky.
“What, really?” His smile falters slightly from the unexpected question.
“I’ve been thinking about it and Asteria is growing up and she’s been talking about wanting a sibling because of her friends from school. I don’t know, what do you think about it?”
“What do I think about it? Darling of course I want to have a baby with you. I want everything with you. I just want to make sure this is what you really want. You never asked for any of this unexpectedness with me and Asteria. I don’t want to rush anything with you. I want to take my time with you.”
“I never thought I’d want kids. The thought of being responsible for another human being scares me but ever since I met you and Asteria, I’ve realized now that having a family is something I’ve always dreamed of but never thought I’d have, but now I do. So I’m ready. I’m so ready.”
“Fuck, I love you so much.” Bucky practically tackles Y/N in a passionate kiss. Bucky grips her thighs, picking her up holding her close to him before carefully bending down to the ground, with her on top of him.
“Tell me how you want me to fuck you darling.” Bucky kisses down her neck.
“Here? Now?” Y/N breathes heavily, hands brushing through his hair.
“I’m not waiting any longer, baby. I’ve wanted you since this morning. You either tell me or I’ll fuck you anyway I want.” Bucky grips her hair, pulling her face to look him in the eyes.
“I want, I want you to fuck me hard.” Y/N swallows back a moan as she grinds on top of him.
“What else darling?” Bucky swipes his tongue along her neck, kissing her jaw and up to her mouth, hovering above her lips.
“Please, just please I need you inside me, filling me up only the way you can. I want to feel your cock deep inside me as I cum and feel you cum inside me the way I know you like it.”
Bucky moans just from her words, feeling his hardness against his jeans. He can’t fucking take it any longer.
“God damn, darling. I want to see how many times I can make you cum.” Bucky takes off his jacket and shirt. Y/N gets off of him as he lays them on the grass, looking up at her.
“Take your clothes off for me baby. I want to take in every inch of you.” Y/N slowly unzips her jacket, taking off her shirt revealing she isn’t wearing a bra. Bucky’s mouth waters from her perfect tits. He can’t wait to suck on them and see them grow bigger once she is stuffed full of his baby. Y/N undoes her pants and slips off her shoes, reaching to take her panties off but Bucky stops her.
“You just had to wear my favorite color.” He groans as he kisses his way up to her red lace panties, placing a kiss over the soaking fabric. “Darling, so wet already.” He takes the top between his teeth, pulling them down her legs, lifting her leg to get them off.
Bucky keeps her leg up, putting it over his shoulder, gripping her ass to bring her closer to his mouth, laying his tongue flat against her wet folds. “Fuck, I could eat her all day. So fucking good baby.” He flicks his tongue through her lips. Y/N moans out, gripping his hair tightly.
“That’s it baby, fuck my face. Make a mess for me.” Y/N grinds down on his face, feeling so overwhelmed, her legs wanting to give out from the intense pleasure.
“Cum for me darling. Give it to me.” He sucks on her clit like it’s his last meal, holding her against his face as she shivers and moans out his name loudly.
“Fuck, Bucky.” Y/N collapses against him. Bucky puts her leg down, helping her carefully down on his clothes he laid out before crawling over her.
“That was one. I want another one darling.” His eyes meet hers with her wetness all over his stubble. She is in love with that sight.
Y/N’s eyes roll back in her head as Bucky slips a finger inside her tight pussy. “I love the sounds you make darling. All for me.” Bucky leans over her, kissing her passionately as he slips in another finger. “I can feel you clenching already baby, cum for me. That’s it, soak my hand.” Y/N grabs at his wrist as she hits her orgasm. Bucky doesn’t remove his fingers, letting her ride it out.
“Bucky, oh, Buck please, fuck, I’m going to cum again.” Y/N squeals as she hits another high.
“Oh fuck, three already darling.” He pulls his fingers out, her wetness trailing down his arm. Y/N can hardly keep her eyes open from the pleasure rushing through her body but she focuses on Bucky as he sucks his fingers clean of her juices.
“My fucking favorite taste in the whole world.” He rests his hands next to her head, kissing her in a heated kiss. Y/N moves her hips up against his hard cock straining against his pants.
“Are you still up for this darling? Still want me to fill you up?”
“God, yes Bucky. Please fuck me. I need you.”
Bucky gets up, taking off his jeans and boxers. Y/N watches as his cock slaps against his abdomen. She will never get used to it.
“Like what you see?” Bucky smirks with his hands on his hips.
“Hmm, very much. But I’d like it much better inside me.” Y/N spreads her legs and Bucky immediately falls to his knees, crawling to her, kissing up her legs, pressing a kiss to her mound again before hovering above her again.
“Look how shameless you are darling. Letting me take you out in the open like this. Coming for me as many times as I want. What did I ever do to deserve you?” Bucky kisses across her chest before down to her breast, sucking a nipple into his mouth. “Are you ready to give me another one darling?”
“Yes, Bucky, please just fuck me already.” Y/N begs, taking his cock in her hand, pumping him and rubbing her pussy against it.
Bucky doesn’t think he’ll last much longer so he slips inside her, almost collapsing at the feeling of her wrapped around him.
“Fuck baby, you always feel so fucking good. Oh god, I can’t go slow right now.” Bucky pumps faster and harder.
“Fuck me good Bucky.” Y/N grips his back as he rocks into her. “Oh shit, Buck making me feel so good. Oh god.”
Bucky moves to his knees, pulling her legs over his chest, holding her hips as he fucks into her hastily. He watches her face scrunch in pleasure as the loud moans escape her gorgeous lips. He glances down at her stomach, resting a hand there, feeling him deep inside her. He groans, moving faster at the thought of putting a baby inside her.
“Oh fuck baby, I’m not gonna last. Need you to cum right now.” Bucky presses a thumb to her clit, rubbing harshly as Y/N bucks her hips, clenching his cock so good.
“Bucky, oh fuck, Bucky I’m gonna cum. Oh god right there.” Y/N cries as her fourth orgasms rushes over her, body jerking as Bucky continues to fuck her harder. Bucky lets her legs fall back down, pressing his body against her, not letting an inch through.
“Fuck, Y/N. I’m cumming.” Bucky groans, pounding his cum into her tight pussy, stilling his hips deep inside, making sure she gets all of him.
“You okay darling?” Bucky hovers his face over her. Y/N nods with a smile, pulling his lip down to hers.
“I want it to feel like this forever.” Her voice is hoarse from her cries of pleasure.
“It will. I’ll make sure of it.” Bucky kisses her, slipping his tongue in her mouth before carefully pulling out of her. He leans back, holding her legs open, watching his cum drip from her beautiful pussy.
“I will never get over that sight.” He bends down, licking at her sensitive pussy.
“Bucky, stop, I can’t.” Y/N tries to push his head away.
“I’m sorry darling, I can’t help myself. Just so good.” He licks up their mixture and groans before sucking on her clit again.
“Bucky, fuck.” Y/N feels him chuckle against her as he shoves two fingers inside her again.
“Give me one more baby. I know you can do it.” Bucky fucks his fingers faster, continuing to suck her clit.
“God, fuck Bucky!” Y/N screams so loudly as her wetness explodes on his face. Bucky is surprised at first but fucks his fingers harder as Y/N squirts all over him. Y/N thrashes on the ground, grabbing at his wrist to stop.
“Shit, darling. I didn’t know you could do that.” Bucky pulls his fingers out, sucking them clean.
“I didn’t either.” Y/N breathes heavily, her body feeling weak. “I don’t think I can walk.”
“Well, then I did my job.” Bucky teases, grabbing her in his arms.
“I think we did it.”
“Did what?”
“Made a baby.”
Tumblr media
Thanksgiving dinner has started off well but knowing Liz, who knows how long that will last.
‘What did I tell you!” Liz confronts Paul. “You didn’t call him yesterday did you? God, why can’t you ever listen to me?”
Y/N and Bucky are at the dining table with all the kids, as they wait to serve themselves.
“Who are they talking about?” Hadley asks.
“Grandpa.” Y/N whispers.
“He’s always late.” Hadley rolls her eyes and Y/N laughs.
Just as Liz and Paul walk back into the dining room, the doorbell sounds.
“Finally!” Liz exclaims walking to the front door. “Oh good, only an hour late. A new record.”
“I’m sorry honey.”
“Just come on, everyone’s waiting.”
“Grandpa!” The kids get up, rushing over to him and colliding him in a hug.
“Oh my little munchkins.” Mike notices Asteria standing hesitantly near him before he grabs her in his arms and tickles all three kids. Asteria brusts with laughter. Y/N smiles at the sight, pressing her hand on Bucky’s thigh. He looks at Y/N and smiles, grasping her hand in his tightly.
“Come on kids, back in your seats so we can eat before the food gets colder.” Liz is already over today. Y/N would usually step in but lets her do her thing as it’s her home.
Y/N gets up and helps the kids with their plates before sitting down to serve herself. Bucky has waited as well and Y/N smiles from the gesture.
“What have you been up to, Bucky?” Mike asks him.
“Busy working mostly.” Bucky clears his throat.
“Anything interesting?”
“Just a few construction jobs. Tony has some new ones in development that have to get passed before we start work on them. There’s one that I think is going to be really special.”
“Can you tell us anything about it?” Y/N asks him, wondering why he’s just now mentioning this.
“Not until it gets the okay.”
“I can’t wait to hear about it.” Y/N pats his thigh with a smile.
“I have some news actually.” Liz speaks up. She looks over at Paul and he nods his head.
“I’m pregnant.”
“What!” Y/N shouts, all eyes on Liz now.
“You’re having a baby!” Hadley jumps up, running to hug her mom.
“Yep. You’re going to have another sibling.”
“I hope it’s a boy!” Finn runs over and hugs her too.
“I’m happy for you Lizzy.” Mike stands up and walks over to give her hug too.
“When do I get to have a sibling!?” Asteria stands on her chair arms, crossed with a pout.
“Aster,” Bucky points his finger at her to sit back down.
“But it’s not fair!” She climbs down from the chair and runs out of the room.
“Sorry, congratulations guys.” Bucky tells Liz and Paul before going after Asteria.
“I’m so happy for you guys! I can’t wait to have another niece or nephew.” Y/N hugs both of them. “I better go check on her too.”
Y/N walks out of the dining room, not finding them in the living room but sees them through the big window outside on the porch swing.
“Hey.” Y/N walks out, sitting on the other side of Asteria. “What’s going on?” Y/N wraps an arm around Asteria.
“I want a baby sister or baby brother. Everyone else has one except me.”
“Those things take time sweetheart.” Y/N runs hand through Asteria’s hair.
“How long?” She looks up.
“Well usually 9 months.”
“That’s a long time.” Asteria sighs, falling back against the swing.
“You just have to be patient.” Bucky adds, looking over at Y/N. “You never know what could happen. You have to be open and let what’s meant for you make its way to you. But you know what the best part is?”
“What?” Asteria turns to look at her dad.
“No matter what, we’ll always be together. As a family.” Y/N looks at him and he brings his arm around both of them, pulling them close.
“I love my girls.” He kisses each of their heads.
“I love you too daddy.” Asteria leans up and kisses his cheek. Y/N giggles softly, leaning over to kiss his lips.
“Mhm, I love you too daddy.” Y/N mumbles against his lips, teasing him.
“Mhm, I love the sound of that.” Bucky winks before they all get up and head back inside.

Make Time
Tumblr media
pairing: CEO! Yuta Nakamoto x  daycare teacher! female! Y/N genre: fluff word count: 1.6k words summary: Yuta is a busy CEO.    warning: none that I know of
Based on my own take of an ask. I try to avoid the story being similar to another that I had written.
I’m sorry I haven’t been writing anything lately and just offered some low quality fics, I can’t seem to properly write the ideas I have in mind. 😥 Still, thank you to those people who still read my works. I appreciate you all. 🥰
“Mr. Nakamoto, your sister is on line two.” Yuta looked up from the pile of papers to his secretary peeking from the door. Can’t she just answer her call? “She said it’s an emergency.”
Yuta was annoyed while picking up his office phone. “You can just call my cellphone.”
“You wouldn’t pick up.” the older girl stated. “Look, Yuta, mom is still on her trip and I’m stuck in a meeting…” she started and he leaned on his chair to listen attentively at her. What is this about? “Can you pick up Aki from school?”
Wait. Him? He’s busy as well. He can’t even make time to go to the bathroom. And does she forget the fact that Aki hates him? “I also have a meeting…”
“Please, your office is near Aki’s school. I’ll pick him up from there after my meeting.”
Yuta sighed. Not that he doesn’t like spending time with his only nephew but the younger boy would always cry whenever seeing him. How can he stop him from crying when he’s picking him up?
The school is only a five-minute drive but his mind is still clouded with thoughts on what Aki would feel. He immediately heard a child’s cry followed by a woman’s voice soothing the child up. He lightly knocked on the opened door which made the woman turn, followed by his teary-eyed nephew who cried some more seeing him.
Great! He hasn’t done anything and he was already sure that this is a really bad idea.
“You must be Akihiro’s uncle,” she claimed, rocking the crying child in her arms. How did she know that? Yuta was sure that Aki and he doesn’t resemble even a bit.
When he glanced around, he found out why.
There’s only one child left inside the colorful classroom. “Please don’t cry now, Aki. Your uncle is here.”  But the boy’s cries got louder. Yuta is now too scared to come close to him even if the teacher gestured for him to come inside. What if he cries louder?
“No, teacher, Uncle is scary.” The girl stared at him in worry then at the younger boy who she tried to comfort. “He’s always mad at me. He hates me.” Yuta stopped in his tracks, is that what Aki is thinking whenever he would see him?
The teacher sighed before wiping the tears falling from his nephew’s cheeks. “Your uncle is nice. He will buy you an ice cream. You love that, right?” The cries got silent and the younger nodded, sniffing. “If your uncle hates you, he wouldn’t pick you up here in school.” Yuta saw how the young boy stopped crying.
Wow, he thought, teachers really have that power to stop a child from crying.
Yuta thanked the girl, holding Aki’s bag. Now that he understood the young boy’s feelings, maybe it’s time to spend some time with him. In their house, there’s only him and Aki as the male in the house. He’s usually really busy that it even startled him when one day, his sister brought a baby at home. They didn’t know who Aki’s dad is and Yuta doesn’t know how to handle the young child.
The reason why he doesn’t want kids in his life.
Aki was quietly sitting on the couch in his office while eating his ice cream. No words were even exchanged, except when he asked what ice cream flavor Aki wanted, and just gave him papers to draw. The moment his sister came inside the office, Aki hugged her tight as if they haven’t seen each other for years.
Is he that tired with him? Maybe he needed to spend more time with his nephew.
But he can’t, with his work schedule and the things he needed to do for the company. In the morning, Aki would just stare at him while they’re eating breakfast and he would be awkward around him.
It was one Saturday afternoon when Aki sat beside him on the couch. Yuta put down the papers he was reading then turned to the younger guy. “Uncle,” Aki called which made Yuta hum in response. “You can play soccer right?”
Yuta nodded. He did but it’s so long ago that he might have forgotten how to kick a ball properly. “Do you want to play soccer?”
“My teacher is asking what sports you play.” Yuta raised an eyebrow. His teacher? He remembered the girl hugging him while he cries. The girl with the superpower to make him stop while crying. Why would she ask that? Come to think of it, she’s kind of pretty.
The question was running in his mind while listening to the meeting by the board. Why would she ask his sport? Is she interested in him? They only met once. He didn’t even get her name. Is this what his sister meant to have fun and meet girls to make his life less lonely?
The older woman was surprised when he volunteered to pick up Aki from his school, reasoning that he wanted some ice cream. When he arrived at school, the teacher was talking to an older woman outside the door, probably a parent. She bowed at her before smiling at him. “Oh, Uncle.” she greeted. “Can I talk to you for a minute?” Yuta nodded.
Maybe she is interested in him.
The girl brought him to a classroom and from the window, he can see how his nephew was playing with kids his age. “I would like to thank you for taking Aki to ice cream.” That piqued his attention. Why? What happened? Before he could ask the question, he was presented with a drawing and Akihiro’s name written on top. He didn’t know his nephew is talented in drawing. Surprisingly, it was about him holding an ice cream and Aki eating his own cone. The words ‘Best Day of my Life’ was written below that made him smile.
“He had been more talkative that day.” She moved the curtains to look outside. “He had been playing a lot with his classmates lately.” True enough, Yuta can see how happy the younger boy is while kicking a ball. He had a making of a soccer player. “And he had been playing soccer lately.”
“It probably runs in the family. My sister also plays soccer when we were young.”
She nodded, smiling. “Maybe I’ll ask Aki’s mom to teach the kids soccer if she’s not busy.” She said more to herself and Yuta smiled. Is that why she asked those things to Aki? And he thought she’s interested in him. Why is he so disappointed all of a sudden?
“I can teach them soccer.” She whipped her head at him, surprise written in her face. Why is she so cute? “Friday. Will that work?”
The girl nodded, grinning widely. “Thank you,” she stopped before continuing, “Uncle.”
Yuta chuckled. “You can call me Yuta. No need to be formal teacher…” he trailed off before she gave her name. “Y/N.” he whispered. “Teacher Y/N.” The girl smiled just as a knock on the door can be heard. “I’ll take Aki’s things and see you in Friday.” Y/N had to nod at that before welcoming another parent.
For the first time, Yuta can’t wait for Friday to come.
—-
He had meetings for Friday that is rescheduled to another day. He didn’t care that he had to go to work on Saturday just so he can have his Friday off.
The five-year-old kids were enthusiastic with the soccer lessons; evidence was the smile in their faces as they kept on kicking the ball to the goal in turns. Y/N would follow one child and put a towel behind her, then another child to adjust her ponytail. When they had a small break, she quickly gave them their water bottles which amazed Yuta. How did she know who owns the water bottle and towel? How did she know that one kid is allergic to powder while the other doesn’t want his hair to be touched? Maybe daycare teachers really do have a superpower.
At the end of the lesson, the kids all thanked Yuta. He heard how the kids told their guardians that they had fun with the activity. And he never felt more accomplished than what he did today.
“Is it tiring?” Y/N asked, sitting beside him. They were waiting for the last three students to go home so he just sat on the bench and watched the kids, with his nephew, play soccer.
Yuta chuckled. “How can you deal with the kids’ energy every day? I feel like they suck all the soul out of me.”
Y/N laughed. The prettiest sound he ever heard. “They do have the tendency to do that. But I don’t know. I love what I’m doing, seeing the smile in their faces.” There was a smile in her face and Yuta finally understood what she felt. “So thank you, Mr. Yuta, for doing this.”
“Please drop the formalities, Y/N.” She smiled once again, nodding while repeating his name. “I can come back next week to give them more soccer lessons.”
“You’ll do that? Aren’t you busy?” Yuta gave her a confused look. “Aki said you work in a company.”
Yuta nodded. “I can make time.” She nodded. “Speaking of which, do you want to have coffee tomorrow? If you just wanted, no pressure though.”
From his peripheral view, he saw how one parent came. Talk about timing. “Coffee would be great.” she said before standing up. “Tomorrow?”
He nodded, repeating ‘Tomorrow’. “I’ll call you.” She nodded, smiling affectionately, before welcoming the parent who just came.
Yuta smiled. Maybe he’ll just go to work on Sunday.
But one thing is for sure. He’ll be picking up Aki from now on.

Hello. This is my first request for the Legend of Zelda, so I do not know how to write it correctly. I don't speak English and I'm writing this in a translator, so there may be mistakes here, sorry. In general, I want to see how the reader will react to the fact that Revali, Link and Sidon cheated on her. (something made me feel sad) Thank you in advance ╹▽╹
I'm so sorry something happened to upset you. If it's along the lines of this request give me a name😤👊 anyways thank you so much for requesting!! This ended up being so much longer than I intended but I'm pretty happy with it. I hope this is what you're looking for!
✨ requests are open✨
Warning: angst, cheating
Revali🐦
I think with his prickly nature not a lot of people would stick around long enough to get to know how much he cares
But some bitch saw how much he was training to perfect his powers to help Hyrule and couldn't resist
It started off as bringing him lunches and heat pads after a long day of training and then it escalated
They would wrap his wings up and suddenly he was letting them fix his braids. He never saw it as much more than a fan helping him out but you saw differently
It ended up in a big fight when you finally brought up how Revali was allowing this fan to hang off of him like they were his partner not you. You brought up excellent points like how he took such a long time to even trust you with braiding his hair and that he could at least let them know he's in a relationship.
Revali got upset (probably cuz ur right and he can't admit it) and snapped that at least they appreciated him
Yeah bad move. You walked out and bird brain left to train away the pain
You came across his first and decided to head to the shooting range with some peace snacks but what do you find?
You walk up the slope towards the archery range, a container of Revali's favourite snacks in hand. As you approach you see something sitting inside the hut and assume it's him. Sterling your breath you walk into the hut and what you find takes your breath away- not in the good way either. Revali sat there with his wings wrapped around them, too caught up on their liplock to notice you standing there.
CRASH
The container hits the ground with a shatter, ruining their little scene.
"Y/n-"
"Don't even try it." You wish your voice didn't sound as broken. No matter how much your heart squeezed in pain from the betrayal, you wanted to come off so much different- angrier. Because you were angry. "Just because we have an argument does not give you the right to run off with your new friend."
Revali flinches at the word and you feel a sick glimmer of satisfaction. He opens his mouth to protest, ignoring your glare. "I-I'm sorry." Your glare darkens and he immediately flounders for the right words. "You accused me of something I didn't do-"
Yeah, not the right words. You wish you could do something, anything to hurt him like he hurt you. But you had to be the bigger person no matter how much you wanted to snap that precious bow of his in half.
"I accused you, not have you permission."
"We can work through this, together" his wing reached out to you, but you recoiled to fast.
"We're not together." You walked towards the entrance "I hope it was worth it."
Link 🗡️
Link is a closed off person. Sure he has people worship him for his title as the hero of Hyrule, but he would never let that get to his head. You could tell this boy he's amazing and it still wouldn't get through his insecurities
Maybe it's cruel but, that almost reassured you he would never break your heart like that. You felt secure in your relationship
That's why it was so shocking when you found out he had fallen for Zelda.
It wasn't meant to ever be more than knight and princess. And you never should have found out.
You were walking towards the stables of your party was staying at. It was supposed to be a simple trip to complete some research out in the plains. Of course your trip was ambushed by an energetic princess who begged to come along for research purposes. You couldn't complain because the addition of the princess also came with your boyfriend Link.
Now you were looking for him outside the small ranch. You fully expected him to be caring for Epona like he always did after a long trip. His love for his horse was something you had always loved about him. The way he would stay later than everyone else to make sure she was okay. It had made stables kind of your spot. Hanging out at the end of a long day to talk and spend time together while caring for your steeds.
Maybe that was why your heart felt so utterly shattered when you did find him, standing next to the stable, with the princess in his arms. Maybe you could have fooled yourself into believing he was being friendly if he hadn't pressed a long loving kiss to her forehead followed by both her cheeks, chuckling softly as she giggled.
You knew they had always been close. I mean they spent all their time together. You'd just never thought that Link would do something like this to you.
You walked away from the stables fighting backs the tears in your eyes. It was only when you found you had walked into an older area, a spare shack outside, that you finally let the tears fall. Your heart twisted in pain as sobs tore from your throat.
Why hasn't you seen this? Why weren't you enough?
------
Your research trip was almost over. You had gone back late into the night to find Link on the edge of his bed head in his hands. He had shot up to demand where you had been when you finally walked in and although he looked like he wanted to argue, he accepted that you had been organizing your research supplies and notes in quiet.
That had been 3 days ago. You had spent the research trip sticking close to your colleagues, poring over each plant and testing their uses. The princess was too distracted with her own interests to really notice how you shied away from her presence. Link had though. And he was about done with you brushing him off in favour of your work. You both were busy so not having time was nothing new. But this was different. You couldn't meet his eyes and he had caught you staring at him and Zelda as if you were about to cry before. He was at a loss and now he needed to figure things out for himself.
However he wasn't quite ready for the answer.
"I saw you and Zelda together."
His throat closed up. He wanted to say so many things. How sorry he was. How he wished he could have told you himself. How he wished he could hold you and forget how complicated things were.
"it's okay." Now that, he wasn't expecting. "I thought I could be mad at you. Both of you. But I guess... It just makes sense." You sniffled softly. You really didn't want to do this. You hated that it had to be you who gave up. But we're you really going to fight? No. As much as it tore your heart into pieces, you would stand aside for them. "I wish that things hadn't changed but, clearly you don't feel the same anymore and I don't want to hold you back. I love you. So much. But I don't deserve this, and I won't put either of us through the trouble. I hope you two are happy together Link."
As you walked towards your friends to head home Link felt his heart clench. You deserved so much better.
Sidon🦈
You were a princess from another kingdom, betrothed to Prince Sidon of the Zora. We all know how these things go, neither of you were all that fond of the idea but you would go through with it. For your kingdoms
You tried to be as understanding as possible of the situations, knowing that the prince was just as trapped as you were. So you played along with your parents wishes.
You two went on dates and spent time together, getting closer and closer until finally you kissed him.
Things were great. You were planning your wedding and enjoying the time you spent with your fiance as you prepared for your future
It wasn't until a few days before the wedding when you were trying on your dress that things fell apart.
Your dressmaker had been in a bad mood, grumbling as they worked and even sticking you with needles a few times. You would have brushed it off as a bad day if not for the facts that they seemed so unapologetic.
You finally brought it up, softly asking if there was something wrong and if you could help. They snapped, going off about how you were ruining the princes life and that he didn't love you and was only marrying you for his kingdom and that he deserved to be happy.
They realized their mistake and left quickly, leaving you alone in your wedding dress with shocked tears slipping down your face.
You later made you way to Sidons office, hoping to clear some things up and maybe seek comfort from the one you loved.
What you didn't expect was to find him already comforting someone. Your dressmaker.
You watched as he whispered sweet nothings and reassurances to them. It was when he said no matter what they were the one that he loved when you broke away.
You stood in your room, packed bags beside you. You knew there were better ways to deal with this. You knew that your kingdom was counting on you and thus marriage. You just couldn't go through with it. Not anymore.
"Y/n?"
You sound around to find the Zora princess standing in your doorway. Mipha had become a close friend in your time in the Zora domain, even feeling like family as you worked closely planning the wedding. She had once told you that you were everything she could hope for in a sister and wife for her brother. You guessed it didn't matter in the end.
Finally you choked out pained words "I can't... I just... I can't do this anymore."
"If you are feeling nervous, I can assure you my brother would never hurt you."
This made you laugh. It was cold, similar to the ice creeping into your veins. "He would. And he did." You cut off Mipha's confusion, wringing a hand through your hair, "Sidon is in love with someone else. I made every effort to work through this engagement despite our... rocky beginning. But he didn't choose me back. He never wanted me, and I won't ruin his chance to be happy."
The room was silent after your outburst. You only noticed the tears when your friend wiped them from your eyes. She offered you a small smile, sharing the pain you felt. She was losing you and still understood it was best for you. You needed to move on and save yourself from a life of pain. A life of being chosen second.
"I hope one day we can meet again, sister."
You let out a choked mix of a son and laugh. Hugging the princess before you grabbed your bags and walked out the door, out of the kingdom that stole your heart and crushed it in its hands.
"I love you, always."
