I think the word got out that Marshmallow's big spotlight episode on Bob's Burgers was beautiful — and one of the reasons is that they really showcased the voice of the new actor playing her, Jari Jones. But there's more going on in this episode that makes it a very special piece of TV.

See, Marshmallow debuted in the first-season episode, "Sheesh! Cab, Bob?" — which is not so great. The episode has Bob meeting three characters who seem like trans women but they're voiced by cis male actors, and overall it's not the vibe we'd go on to expect from Bob's Burgers. What's really surprising about the new Marshmallow episode, “Hope ’n’ Mic Night," is that it repeatedly references that not-so-great debut episode. Given that this new one was written by series creator Loren Bouchard, you can kind of read it as the show acknowledging that that the original episode exists but despite those origins they're pushing Marshmallow in a direction that everyone can feel better about.

That song, though — truly beautiful.

1- The first (fictional queer horror) podcast I listened to was the Magnus Archives!! I saw a tiktok about it and had heard/seen things about it before and decided to look into it!! (Honestly, the tiktok was REALLY misleading— i thought the characters were going to be teenagers based off of the person’s designs 😅)

4- The podcast I think has the best music/soundtrack is probably Welcome to Night Vale— I’ve found so many good songs from the weather, and the background music is beautiful too!! Sometimes it reminds me of the Minecraft music, haha ^_^

12- RED VALLEY!!! I wish more people listened to red valley because it is SO GOOD!! the characters and plot is amazing and it’s so sad and funny and dramatic and aughhhh i will ALWAYS be the #1 red valley advocate ^_^

13- typically i do color/sticker by numbers bc they’re easy to do while the podcast plays, and when i’m taking lecture notes I’ll sometimes keep an earbud in. They’re also fun to listen to while driving/in the car ^_^

I got a lovely review on twitter out of the blue today, so I thought I’d let tumblr know that I have an audio drama podcast called Glass Letters that I began making during the depths of COVID in 2020!

I wrote, voiced, edited, and produced almost all of it myself, with my friend Randy as a guest actor and title music written for the show by Slow Haste! Season two is currently on hiatus until I have enough time outside of my full time job to allocate to a whole season, but I realized how much I missed working on it, and how much the story meant to me when I was writing it.

Glass Letters is a story about loneliness, family, personal identity, and what it means to run away from something you can never escape. It’s as much my story as it is Riz’s story, and I’d love it if people on here gave it a listen.

Discussed in this week's Gayest Episode Ever: a King of the Hill that accidentally depicts various aspects of gainer bro culture. The especially weird thing is that this montage also features Nancy realizing she's standing between two gym gays cruising each other. The show is offering them up as examples of it thinks gay guys look like, without realizing that there are also guys who are into guys who look and act like the musclebros who are pumping up Bill. In short, it's really funny when well-meaning straight people accidentally make something gay.
