Love how anytime you ask someone who is nostalgic about dao’s ‘dark fantasy’ just what made it gritty/dark for them and why they like it so much, and their answer is always like, ‘men suffer battles while women get assaulted by darkspawn and made into broodmothers’. Like they can’t actually name anything beyond that and parts of the Blight. But they never delve too far into what made the Blight horrible beyond….you guessed it…broodmother lore. Odd

#it’s almost as if they have one interest when it comes to it and it’s always ‘man fight! women suffer!’#that’s what they seem to think happens to ALL women during the Blight too.#I love dark fantasy btw like it’s one of my fav genres to write and read/watch #but it’s so cringe seeing their arguments boil down to That and only that #origins Was darker but not that much lol #they act as if it was Berserk levels sometimes like go replay it and become disappointed lmao #not the body horror or autonomy or psychological impact of a moving pestilence that can ravage the land for a century nooo…broodmothers #dragon age #prawn posts
