AITA for ruining my cousin's birthday party?
Please read the whole thing before making a judgement.
Real names not used.
So I (25M) bought a nintendo switch for my younger sister Sara (16F) for her birthday. However, mom decided that Sara would be sharing her birthday party with our cousin Cody (12M) as a celebration for him just recovering from having cancer. Mom had also said that it would be family only so Sara was not allowed to have her friends over for her 16th birthday. She was of course upset over that because she had plans on what she wanted to do with her friends. But Aunt (Karen) had told her not to be selfish about it because "you see your friends every day at school."
The rest of our relatives who had been invited hadn't been prepared for it to be a celebration for Cody as well, so none of them had gotten anything for him. Karen decided that it would be fair if Cody got to choose some of the gifts for himself. Of course as soon as he saw Sara open the wrapped up Switch, he had snatched it saying that it was his now. Sara was upset about that because she didn't think it was fair to let him do that, but the rest of our aunts and uncles scolded her for being selfish and being mean to "poor Cody". And "Cody has been sick, just let him have this. He deserves it. You are being greedy for wanting it."
Sara locked herself in her room for the rest of the party and didn't even come out for the cake. She only came out after everyone had left. Her eyes were puffy from crying and it was obvious that she did not have a good birthday because of everything. If anything, the party had been more about Cody while she had just been shoved to the side.
Fast forward a few months to the day of Cody's birthday. Aunt planned a big party for the day. All of Cody's friends were invited along with all our family. Sara refused to go and planned to go hang out with friends instead, but she was forced to go in the end because other relatives were calling her selfish and cruel for not wanting to celebrate Cody's birthday. She said she would only be there for an hour before leaving, and I said I would drive her home.
Aunt and Cody had gone out to buy the cake, so I went to their home early. Luckily for me, Uncle (Tony) was home. He hadn't been there for Sara's birthday party because he had been away for a business trip. He had let me inside when he saw me and I told him what had happened at Sara's birthday. Apparently he hadn't know what had happened. I asked him if they kept the box for the Switch, and he had said yes.
Tony had not stopped me when I packed the Switch back into its box (I removed the game that was in it and put that back in its case). He didn't stop me when I took the packed up Switch out to my car. He said that I was allowed to have it, so I did. I took it back to the store I bought it from and returned it. Luckily, it was still within the return window, so I was able to return it. I bought a few new Switch games for Sara (Some of her friends had banded together and gotten her a Switch). I never went back to Cody's house after that. Instead, I stayed at home with Sara because our parents relented and let her just stay home instead. I played games with her while our parents were gone.
Hours later, Mom and Dad come home bringing Karen with them. Karen was livid. She screamed that I ruined Cody's birthday party by stealing his Switch and that we must hate him for being sick. She knew I had been at the house because the doorbell ring showed I had been there. Apparently they had planned party games that would revolve around the Switch so all of Cody's friends had been disappointed when there was nothing to play. Karen screamed about how Cody had been crying and that it was not right to make the birthday boy cry. I pointed out that they had made Sara cry on her birthday. And Karen said "Sara shouldn't be making a big deal out of it, she is being childish for crying over a game system that she doesn't need. Cody is still a child, and you are giving him a bad childhood."
Karen decided that she would be taking Sara's Switch and giving it back to Cody and that she had no right to be taking Cody's things. Sara argued with her saying that it was her Switch that her friends gave her, but Karen screamed that she was just making excuses to be a thief and "you would probably be happy if Cody died, wouldn't you?" Mom and Dad had made her leave, but Karen has been blowing up our phones since then calling us (but mainly me and Sara) assholes for ruining Cody's birthday.
Yeah I know that taking the Switch back was mean, but I don't like how Cody just has to be the center of attention for everything. Sara's birthday was not the first time he got all attention when the party had been for someone else, but those are stories for another time.
AITA for ruining his birthday?
What are these acronyms?

gorgeous (9) — what can I say?
— GORGEOUS, an avatar smau ( by yawneneteyam ) masterlist
— gorgeous, what can I say ?
the presentation went fine, nothing to worry about. y/n didn't throw up, neteyam didn't cry about whales- it was a success to the two of them. truth be told, the two of them kind of zoned out after they presented. they found a lot more amusement in just chatting up the back than listening to what their classmates had to say.
once class ended, their professor shot them a weary glance- knowing that they hadn't listened to a single word another student had to say. they didn't feel guilty, even though they knew they should've; but they enjoyed each others company too much to not hang off of every word the other said.
neteyam hesitated before speaking once they were outside, was he nervous? "did you want to come back to my place?" y/n took note of the way he shuffled his feet, "I'm taking tuk for ice cream when she's come from school if you wanted to come,"
y/n tried to not let her face light up too much, but it was impossible. he had asked her to come home with him? granted, it was to hang out with his little sister- but y/n would do his laundry or his dishes if it meant she got to spend another minute with neteyam.
"I would love to," she nodded, "means I can finally meet tuk!"
"oh," neteyam laughed, "she's been waiting to meet you, she'll be very excited"
"tuk knows who I am?"
"yeah, of course" neteyam nodded, "kiri talks about you all the time and they know we were partners for an assignment,"
y/n nodded, walking towards the parking lot with neteyam. "I'm honoured to be spoken of in the sully house," she joked.
"you really should be," neteyam chuckled, "right up there with the topics of tuk taking dad's credit card to buy robux and how the mato's bought a new barbecue so we should buy a new barbecue..:" neteyam sighed with a smile, "but we can't afford the barbecue because dad's card has been put on hold because tuk has been buy too many robux,"
y/n couldn't help but laugh, "I'm sorry," she shook her head. neteyam laughed too.
"it's okay," he promised, opening her door for her before heading over to the drivers side of the car, "it's fucking hilarious".
"not to your dad though," y/n gave him a knowing look.
"no," neteyam said with wide eyes, "so when you meet him, definitely don't bring it up,"
y/n laughed as neteyam turned the key in the ignition, "noted," she nodded. neteyam held her gaze for a little longer than he should have before putting his hand behind y/n's headrest- reversing out of the parking lot and heading towards his house.
"y/n, can you come back another night?" tuk held onto y/n's hand as they walked outside to say goodbye to her. neytiri stood at the door watching her youngest, making sure she wasn't going to kick up a fuss once y/n had to leave.
"if neteyam wants me to I can," y/n chuckled, looking over at neteyam who was leaning against his car, waiting for y/n with a smile on his face.
"what if I want you to?" tuk stopped in her tracks.
"alright you," neteyam leaned down and picked tuk up, holding her close to his chest, "go back inside and I'll be home soon, yeah?"
"but you have to promise to ask y/n back," tuk was pouting in her brothers arms, "..please?"
neteyam sighed with a smile, "of course,"
"I would've come over anyway," y/n whispered to tuk. the younger girl looked back to y/n with a big grin. they said goodbye to each other before neytiri called out a farewell. neteyam opening y/n's door for her once again.
"thanks," she mumbled with a shy smile. the drive was almost silent if it wasn't for neteyam's soft humming. "what song is that?" y/n asked.
"my mom wrote it," he only let his eyes flicker to her for a second before returning to the road, "there's a little bit for each kid, my part is the best of course," he shrugged.
"oh yeah?" she laughed.
"yes! is is,"
"that's pretty cool though," y/n told him.
neteyam hummed in agreement, "it's very special to our family,"
small patters of rain began to fall on the windscreen of the car. those patters became heavy fall. as neteyam pulled up to the girls dormitories, it was pouring rain in the cool of the night.
y/n grimaced slightly as she thought about having to run across in the rain, no jacket, no anything to keep her warm. neteyam startled her as he reached over into the backseat of his car.
"here," he handed her a hoodie.
"what's this?"
"a hoodie?"
"why?" she laughed.
"because it's pouring rain?" he looked at her as if it was obvious. y/n looked over the soft maroon fabric, the number twenty-four and his last name was embroidered on the back.
"what's this from?" she asked.
"I run track in the summertime," he said nonchalantly with a shrug.
"you do?" y/n scoffed with a smile, "I didn't know that,"
"there is a lot of things you don't know about me," he grabbed the hoodie back from her and held it open for her. "arms up," he told her. neteyam helped y/n find her way into his jumper, pulling the hood over her head. he laughed as it practically engulfed her, he could barely see her face in the abundance of fabric on her head.
"you gonna be okay to get back?" he asked her, "do you want me to walk you there?"
y/n hummed, "opening my doors for me, offering to walk me back to my room? I guess chivalry isn't dead," she joked.
"neytiri raised me better than that," he smiled.
"she definitely did," y/n nodded in agreement. they both sat in his car, not wanting the other to leave. y/n knew she would have to be the one to go first.
"okay well, I guess I'll see you next week in class?" y/n asked softly.
neteyam slowly nodded, "course, but don't forget you told tuk you would come back soon and that girl can hold a grudge,"
they both laughed together as the rain drops fell onto neteyam's car. "I can't break my promise to tuk," y/n smiled, her hand resting on the door-handle, "I'll see you soon, nete"
"bye y/n"

So This Is Love (15 Years Later)(Steve X You)
Part of A Virtual Romance Universe
Warnings: Dad and Husband Steve/ Mom and Wife Fem Y/N, Fluffy smut filled with love, FLUFF, ANGST (slightly, nothing too dramatic)
Word Count: 4929
STEVE
Steve sighed as he loosened his tie while leaning against his car outside your shared home. He had been working extremely hard at his corporate job in hopes to get this new promotion so he’d be able to be home with his family a lot more. His current position had him traveling constantly, meeting with potential clients, and working late hours even when he was in town.
He missed you and his children terribly but he was able to give his little family everything he had promised you 15 years ago when you two first started talking online. A two-story house in a city away from Hawkins with a pool and anything his children could ever ask for. His 13-year-old daughter Madison was enrolled in a good private school getting the best education possible and when his son Luke was old enough he could do the same without even flinching.
You, as always, were perfect to him. You never asked for anything but he insisted on taking you out to fancy dinners, buying you beautiful gifts, and doing anything else he could think of to make you smile. The elephant in the room though always lingered and soon even he knew you two would have to address it. Even though he was able to financially take care of everything none of that mattered to you. You missed him just as much as he did you but with this new job everything would work out and he could be with you three more. He just needed to make it a little while longer.
The sound of the tree in front of his house shaking caught his attention as he tilted his head to the side while he watched his eldest child quietly try to climb out of her bedroom before jumping to the ground below her.
“SHIT! Dad, um, what are you doing home? You scared me.”
“I can imagine. Scared the hell out of me when I see my teenage daughter parkouring out of her bedroom at midnight.”
“Well, you know, I was just, uh, coming out front to, um, get some fresh air and then go right back to bed.”
“In your jeans and that ridiculously short I’m-going-to-set-it-on-fire-so-you-can-never-wear-it-again tank top?”
“Mom bought me this.”
“Yeah, sure, keep lying Madison. You’re already in a lot of trouble. Come on.”, Steve scolds as he ushers her towards the front door.
As soon as it’s unlocked, he’s meet to an unusually lit up house.
“Honey? Everything ok?”
“Yeah! Luke just had a nightmare so we’re in here having a late-night snack.”, you answer from the kitchen.
“Oh, I know the feeling. One of my nightmares just came true as I got home!”
“Steve Harrington, what the hell are you—“, you pause as you come around the corner, your eyes assessing the situation. “Going somewhere, Madi? Or just getting back?”
“Oooo Madi’s in trouble!”, her six-year-old brother teases as he points at his sister.
“Shut up, you little butthead!”
“OK! Head upstairs and we’ll talk in the morning. I’m going to check on you in a bit and if you aren’t there, Madison…”
“Alright, dad. I get it.”
“Hey, lose the attitude and give me your phone.”, you command as you hold out your hand.
“But mooooooom!”
“Oh, I know. I’m awful. Thank you.”, you sass as she slams her phone into your palm.
“Hang on, Mad, before you go. Y/N, where did she get that shirt?”
“I bought it for her.”
“Told you.”, she retorts rolling her eyes as she stomps up the stairs.
“She gets that attitude from you.”, Steve teases as he saunters over to give you a peck on the lips. “Alright, I tap you out. Let me put this monster back to bed and I’ll be right there.”
Luke beams as his dad lifts him effortlessly into his strong arms, wrapping his own tightly around his neck.
“Are you sure? You just got home.”
“I’m sure. Go relax, babe. I got this.”
***
Steve’s heavy, obnoxious exhale makes you giggle as he shuts the bedroom door and falls back first on to the bed.
“Escape artiest still in her room?”
“Yeah but we’re going to have to do something about that. Maybe, cut some of those limbs off the tree or get an alarm for the window. Can you believe that? 13 and she’s sneaking out already.”
“Well, when did you first sneak out?” Closing his eyes, he makes a sarcastic hm sound as he pretends to ignore you as you smile. “I also seem to remember a boy a bit older than her sneaking into my bedroom sometimes. Who could that have been, StealthyNinja02?”
“Uh huh.” Your smile grows as he tugs on your arm bringing you closer to him so you can rest your head on his chest. “By the way, are you trying to give me a heart attack? Why are you buying her shirts like that?”
“Steve, it’s a tank top.”
“It absurd.”
“Someone’s grumpy. Did you have a rough day at work?”
“Hm. I’m just ready to get that promotion so I can finally relax.”
“You CAN relax now you know. You don’t have to work so hard.”
“Hm…but I’m…so…close.”
Lifting your head, you glance at his face to see he was beginning to fall asleep. Reaching over him, you turned off his bedside lap and pull the covers over you both as your fingers caressed his cheek, down to his chest.
“I just miss my prince charming.”
################
YOU
When you woke up that next morning, Steve was already gone and the empty bed pierced your heart as you sighed before getting up to start your day. You hated that he was away so much reminding you of lonely nights before you met your online crush. Even after you found out who he was, when he would drop you off, you hated that you couldn’t fall asleep beside him.
After you two graduated high school, he worked diligently to find you a place together and that first night you both slept better then you ever had in the past. He also did everything he could to get a job to make sure you two were taken care of but after you two got married and you became pregnant it amplified. It killed you more over these last few months how many things he had missed in the kid’s lives, not just for your children but him as well. Steve was an amazing father making you fall for him even more than you thought possible. When Madison was a few months old, you would come home from work to find him still dressed in a suit, rocking her around as he quoted Disney movies to her to make her smile.
“Put ‘em together and what have you got? Bibbidi… bobbidi… boo.”
At his last word, Steve poked her nose with his pinky making his daughter grin wide as she cooed up at him with big eyes as if he hung the moon.
“Yeah, my love? Oh, such a pretty smile.”
When Luke became a toddler, he sat him down and showed him all of the Star Wars movies in one sitting.
“Look at this, dude. Greatest twist in movie history right here.”
His son gasps when Vader tells Luke he is his father, pointing at the tv before throwing his hands in the air in surprise.
“Da-ee! Dar Vader…his Da-ee!”
“I know! Didn’t see it coming did you?”
Steve loved you and his kids more than anything which is why he was trying to provide you three with the life he didn’t have growing up. You wished you could make him understand that he didn’t need to give you material things to do that. You guys just wanted him here.
***
“Hey, babe. Everything ok?”, you ask when Steve Facetimes you from his car in the middle of his workday.
“Yeah, I’m alright. I just wanted to hear your voice. What are you doing?”
“I…am going through some of my clothes here…so I can figure out what to where for my works stupid costume thing this weekend. You’re still coming with me to that, right?”
“Of course. I’m curious to see how and why a media marketing firm decided on a costume party in the middle of February.”, he chuckles. “Why are you digging in the closet? Are you going as ‘Sexy Mom’?”
“Wow. That was smooth, King Steve.”
“I still got some moves you haven’t seen, honey. I actually did want to talk to you about something. My boss wants me to go to Nashville tomorrow…” Steve pauses as he watches you freeze and heavily sigh. “I know, baby, I know but it’s just for two days. I’ll be back home by Friday for your party and then I was thinking on Sunday the four of us could go see a movie or something.”
“Steve…you just got back a few days ago and you’ve been working late shifts ever since.”
“I know—”
“You missed one of Madi’s games and you told Luke you were going to take him to the amusement park for a ‘just the guys’ day. They miss you, Steve.”
“I know, Y/N.”, he huffed in a much firmer tone than he meant to use.
“I miss you… We haven’t had a date in a long time let alone made love. I mean don’t you…”, you cut yourself off and push down the emotions that try to push through.
“Baby, look at me. I’m sooooo close. After this week, he’s announcing who’s taking over the new position. I just need a bit more time then I promise, honey, everything we have sacrificed will be worth it.”
#############
STEVE
“Hey, troublemaker.” Steve laughs through his teeth as his daughter rolls her eyes at him, turning around in her desk chair to face him. “I just wanted to check on you and say good night. I’m heading out tomorrow but I’ll be home by Friday. I told your mom on Sunday, maybe, we could all go see a movie.”
When Madison makes a hm sound in her throat and nods, he enters her room fully and takes a seat on her bed.
“Talk to me, Mad. What are you thinking?”
Sighing, her big, beautiful eyes meet his reminding him of when she was much smaller and she would always watch him talk. It was like she was absorbing everything he said whether she understood it or not.
“I just…you say you’ll be home by Friday but we know you won’t. Something always comes up.”, she shrugs. “It’s not a big deal but I know it bugs mom. On nights you aren’t here, she always wears one of your shirts and, um, on days you say you’ll be back and you aren’t…she cries.”
Steve’s heart shatters in his chest at the thought of you laying alone at night in one of his button ups or t-shirts, hugging yourself as you cried.
“I’m sorry, Madison. I really am. I’m supposed to get this premotion soon so I don’t have to keep leaving or staying away from the house so long.”
“I know, dad. I really hope you get it because you deserve it.”
***
Your eyes watch him with sadness as he walks back and forth from the closet to the suitcase on the bed as he packs.
Grabbing one of his socks, he tosses it at your chest making you smile when you catch it.
“Hey. Look at me. I promise, honey. I’ll be home in two days, ok?” When all you do is nod, he scoots his bag to the side and crawls in beside you, promptly pulling you into his arms. “I love you, Ouyay.”
Steve grins when he feels your body jiggle as you laugh against his chest.
“I love you to, Stealthy.”
Throughout your entire relationship thus far, you never made him feel little or stupid. You never made him feel invisible and you loved him for who he was, not who he had pretended to be.
That morning when his alarm went off, he lagged in bed much longer than he should have. His palm caressed your cheek as his eyes racked over your sleeping face. The first time you fell asleep beside him, he felt like the happiest man in the world. Growing up in his house was incredibly lonely and not just because his parents were never there. His father was always scolding him to be better and his mother was always preoccupied with his dad.
When he went to school, everyone around him didn’t truly know who he was. He was constantly pretending to be royalty so the popular kids would like him but he still felt alone even amongst the sea students. The only time he ever felt seen was when he was IMing you which even he understood at the time was ironic since he didn’t know yet who you were.
Now he had his own family and he desperately wanted to show you how much he appreciated you and his life. This would be the last time you would wake up without him there. The last time you handled everything alone because he was too far away to help. The last time you would cry yourself to sleep because after this trip, he was going to be home more. He would get that promotion and finally be able to relax. Steve could finally go back to being the husband and father he always wanted to be.
###############
YOU
StealthyNinja02: Hey, babe.
Ouyay_Areyay_umbday18: Lol Steve Harrington, why do you always change your name in my phone before you leave?
StealthyNinja02: Because you love it :). This is how we met, Y/N! Gotta keep it alive even though no one IMs anymore.
Ouyay_Areyay_umbday18: Yeah. The kids DM now I’m told.
StealthyNinja02: I have no idea what that means.
StealthyNinja02: Lol. How was your day?
Ouyay_Areyay_umbday18: It was good.
Ouyay_Areyay_umbday18: The three of us went to the mall and the kids helped me pick out a costume for the party tomorrow. I couldn’t find an outfit in my closet I liked and Madi insisted I needed something new.
Ouyay_Areyay_umbday18: I think you’ll like it.
StealthyNinja02: Oh yeah? Is it short? Lol.
StealthyNinja02: Hey, are the kids around? I need to talk to you about something.
When you tell him no, his face illuminates your screen and you smile when his soft features fill up your Facetime.
“Hey, handsome.”
“Hey beautiful. Fuck I miss you so much.”
“Is that what you needed to tell me without the kids around?”, you laugh. “Thankfully, this is your last trip so you won’t be missing me anymore. You’ll be right here.”
The smile he had been wearing faltered slightly and you knew before he even said a word.
“Your boss planned another trip for you, didn’t he?”
“No, no he didn’t but, um, he elongated this one.”
“So, when will you be home?”
“…Monday…” Sarcastically smirking, you place your face in your hand as you try to control the urge to cry in frustration. “Baby, look at me. I know. That’s why I wanted to talk to you. I’m so fucking confused. We need this promotion but—”
“No, Steven, YOU need this promotion. Your family needs you. It shouldn’t be that confusing.”
“What do you want me to do, Y/N? Go home, quit my job, and lose everything we’ve worked so hard for?!”
“YOU’VE worked so hard for. I never asked you for this massive house, the money, or anything else material you throw our way! If that’s the man I wanted I would have encouraged you to stay that cocky asshole from high school! God, I feel like I’m married to your father!”
Your eyes squeezed shut as soon as the words left your mouth. You didn’t mean for them to come out as harshly as they did.
“Is that really how you feel?”
When you finally open your eyes again, his own are glaring through the phone lens as he waits for your answer. When the conversation started, he had been sitting in a hotel bed but now he was on his feet pacing in front of a window.
“You think I’m like my dad? You think I’m not out here busting my ass?! That I’m fucking other women and just living it up while you’re at home with our kids.”
“I didn’t say that.”
“Hm. Enlighten me then, Y/N. What exactly are you saying?”
“I know you work hard, Steve. I know you spend hours and late nights doing whatever your boss asks as a means to an end. While you’re in your office or in a hotel miles away do you know what I see? I get to see that disappointed look on our kid’s faces because you broke another promise. I see Madi excited that she was asked to a dance by the guy she liked but heartbroken because you weren’t here to see the dress she bought. I see Luke putting things like books and movies he wants to experience on hold all because he wants to wait till you’re here so he can do that with you. He hasn’t even watched the trailer for that new Star Wars movie because he wants to see it for the first time with you.”
“I see you in them, Steve. Every story you told me when we started talking and after we started dating when it comes to your dad… I see it in their faces when you’re not here. They miss you… I miss you.”
“Madi said you cry at night sometimes.”
“Fuck. I didn’t know she could hear that.”
“I don’t like that. I don’t like you or them…being in pain.”
“Then come home, baby. Please…”
“I’ll, um, I’ll see what I can, um…Maybe I can get everything done and be home by Saturday afternoon.”
Your heartbreaks as a heavy exhale leaves your chest.
“Don’t bother. I’m not going to give them hope for you to hurt them by not showing up. Just stay there and do what you need to do.”
“Y/N, wait—”
################
YOU & STEVE
Your eyes sullenly take in the people around you at the hotel your company booked for this event. Everyone around you was wearing something “elegant” or sexy choosing to forgo any kind of traditional Halloween garb making you smile at the thought of Steve’s question a few nights ago.
Your daughter and son picked out the white, full-length dress you were currently wearing that was sleeveless minus lace that wrapped around both biceps and flowed down your arms.
“Guys, it’s a costume party! What am I supposed to be?”, you giggle.
“You said you and dad dressed up like a prince and a princess right? Well now you’re a queen.”, your daughter beamed as she straightened your garment.
“A beautiful queen!”, Luke added. “King and Queen Harr-en-ton.”
You had picked out a matching mask and allowed your eldest to do your hair as it flowed freely around your shoulders.
As the next song began to play, a strangled laugh left your throat as you were transported back one of the first flirty conversations you had with Steve over IM when you two started talking.
“What day is it
And in what month?
This clock never seemed so alive
I can't keep up, and I can't back down
I've been losing so much time.”
Ouyay_Areyay_umbday18: Oh my god, Stealthy, no! That song is cliché.
StealthyNinja02: Look, I may not know most songs on the radio but this one is going to be a classic! I’m telling you.
StealthyNinja02: The first time I heard it, it actually made me think of you.
Ouyay_Areyay_umbday18: No it didn’t. Lol.
Ouyay_Areyay_umbday18: You’ve never even seen me ; ).
StealthyNinja02: And it's you and me…And all of the people…And I don't know why…
I can't keep my eyes off of you :)
StealthyNinja02: Don’t need to to know you’re beautiful <3.
“Excuse me, ma’am. May I dance with you?”
At the sound of his voice, your eyes shot up to meet his before you took in the rest of him. Steve had styled his hair slicked back and out of his face with a black button up with the collar around his neck. The black vest and jacket flattered his upper torso to say the least and was complimented by the black slacks and matching shoes.
After taking his palm, he led you to the middle of the dance floor, placing his hand on your lower back as he held your other hand in the air to the side.
“Where did you get this ensemble on such short notice?”
“Well, my daughter is a very sneaky teenager and when I showed up at the house looking for my princess, she told me where she was and showed me this outfit she found that matched her mothers.”
“Hm. My kids told me I’m no longer a princess but a beautiful queen.”
“They are absolutely correct.”
“I’m so sorry, honey.”, he murmurs as you wrap both arms around his neck and he pulls you closer to his chest. “I got so caught up in trying to give you guys everything I never had that I guess I just got lost.”
“There's something about you now
That I can't quite figure out
Everything she does is beautiful
Everything she does is right.”
“Steve, you know we appreciate everything you do. Both of our kids could have everything they ever asked for financially and I love that that’s something we don’t have to worry about when it comes to them. But it kills me to see that heartbreak in their eyes…”
“And you? How do you feel? Every time we have this conversation, you never tell me how it affects you.”
“Because I can handle it. I did it before with you.”
“You used to cry yourself to sleep in high school?”
“No… I guess I just got used to falling asleep with you that now it just hurts. I miss you, Steve.” He tenderly kisses your forehead as you two continue to sway. “It’s been lonely out here without you.”
As you whisper the words he said to you the first time you two were intimate, something ignites inside him as he grips your hand and tugs you towards the elevators in the lobby.
“Steve, where are we—”
The ding of the elevator cuts you off and you follow him in, watching as he presses a floor number, and wait as you let him guide you where he needs.
Taking a key out of his pocket, he unlocks a room and as soon as the door closes behind you, he pushes you against the nearby wall and crashes his lips to yours. There’s a passion and neediness behind both your kisses that you haven’t felt in a while. It had been so long since you two were able to be together this way and you needed him just as desperately.
As he lifts the hem of your dress, you fumble with his belt buckle, push his pants and boxers to his ankles, and spit in your hand before stroking it along his incredibly hard, leaking cock. Steve groans, finding the waistband of your panties, and sliding his hand through to your core. As his fingers play with your clit, you pump and twist your hand around him, smiling as he pants against your lips.
“Did-Didn’t you say—fuck—didn’t you say you had a fantasy when y-you went home from the dance in school?”, you tease as your tongue licks his bottom lip making him grunt with need. After lifting off your dress, you fall to knees and take him into your waiting mouth as he mewls at the feeling.
“Shit…just like that, baby.” You felt him moving above you and your eyes flicked to his as he practically tore off the rest of his suit before his fingers came down to tangle in your hair. “Your mouth always feels so good.”
As your head bobbed, your tongue swirled around him as it traced along his slit and down his veins making his eyes roll while he held you tighter. A growl abruptly left his chest as he bent down to collect you, throwing you over his shoulder as he carried you to the mattress, and tossed you onto it.
After tossing away your mask, Steve kissed the length of your body till his palms reached your thighs and opened them wide as he shoved his face into your cunt. His mouth and tongue devoured you like a man possessed as you tried to catch your breath.
“S-Steve…baby, please…oh my god…”
Your hips bucked against his movements as he mewled in response, the vibration making you whimper. Reaching above his head, his middle and ring fingers found their way into your mouth and you sucked them eagerly, coating them with your salvia before he quickly pulled them away and guided them into your heat.
“Steve! I can’t…I…fuck…”
His thumb on his opposite hand replaced his mouth as he hastily rubbed your bundle of nerves matching the pace of his digits inside you.
“Yes, you can, honey. Cum for me.”
Arching your back, you came harder than you had in a long time, panting against the mattress as he kissed up your body.
Gripping his neck, you spun him on to his back making him moan as you grinded your pussy lips along his cock.
“Fuck, baby, d-don’t tease me. I want to feel you.” Reaching between your bodies, you both mewl as you hold his shaft and gradually lower yourself onto his length. “That’s it, Y/N, shit.”
You and Steve had been together for over 15 years and even now you still struggled a bit with his size. The first time you had him without a condom, he grunted and growled saying he could feel your pussy stretching trying to take him. That night he came quickly, apologizing profusely before making it up to you. You didn’t care, lost in your haze of bliss and giddiness at the fact that you that effect on him.
Even now, his head tilted back as his jaw went slack and his fingers gripped your hips when he was fully sheathed inside of you.
“Look at me, Steve. Please.”, you cooed as you tilted so your forehead could rest on his. When he did what you asked, you began grinding and rolling your waist, groaning as his tip hit that sensitive spot inside of you. “I love you so much.”
His strong arms wrapped around your back tightly as his hand clung to the back of your neck.
“I love you to, Y/N. Ride my dick, sweetheart. Make yourself cum. I need to feel it. It’s been so long.”
“Too long.”, you breathily giggle making him smile underneath you as he moves some of your hair away from your face.
“That’s my girl. Fuck. Harder.”
Lifting yourself up, your hands used his chest as leverage as you bounced on his cock as hard as you could. Chanting his name, your body trembled as you came. He barely gave you time to recover as he hastily pulled out, flipping you over on to your stomach before roughly slamming back into your still quivering hole.
“That’s it, baby. Fuck, still so fucking tight.”
“C-Cum, Steve. Cum inside me.”
“Yeah? You want my cum, honey?”
Clinging to your hips, he pounded into you till you heard him loudly grunt and whimper your name as his release warmed your insides.
Gently leaning over your back, his lips danced with yours as he continued to milk his cock with your now aching pussy.
“I love you, Y/N. I’m so sorry I hurt you. Everything’s going to different, baby, I promise.”, he whispered in your ear.
You didn’t say anything as he climbed off you and hurried towards the bathroom to get a rag to clean between your legs. After climbing back into bed, he tugged you to his side, humming when your fingers ran along the skin of his chest and stomach.
“I mean it. After our phone call, I confronted my boss and told him I wasn’t doing anymore long hours or trips like these. I told him I deserved that promotion and shouldn’t have to keep proving how good of an employee I am.” Steve’s eyes met yours when he felt your head tilt to look at him waiting for an answer. “He said I was right.”
“Steve…”
“I got the promotion.”
“Oh my God!”, you exclaimed as you climbed on top of him and passionately kissed his lips as he laughed against yours.
“He also gave me a week off so I thought the four of us could do something fun. Go on vacation or whatever.”
“I don’t think the kids care as long as they get to spend time with you.”
“Hm. Yeah, let’s see how Madi feels about me after I nail her window shut.” You giggle as you fall to his side again and squeeze him tightly as he continues to grin while playing with your hair.
“So, my queen, how long do we have the babysitter for?”
“Till midnight, sire.”
Glancing at the hotel clock, he chuckles as he flips you on to your back, laying on top of you with most of his weight shifted onto his elbows.
“Well, this is our castle, babe. I don’t think you’ll turn into a pumpkin if we’re a few minutes late.”

ok now that i've had some time to process this week/weekend i think im ready for a little vent? a ramble? just talk about what happened? yeah i like that, just talk about how this weekend went.
ok so this whole week was us keeping an eye on hurricane beryl since we live in the coastal bend out by Corpus Christi.
on friday my mom made the decision that we all should leave, with my husband driving up front leading the way to San Antonio because it's up north and rain was probably the worst they were gonna get.
so saturday she has me book the hotel, map out the drive, call up my sister in law, and all i can think about is how is my child going to act because he has a tendency to act wild.
not his fault, he's 4, he's got that adhd energy, and he's all about routine and this trip really did fuck with his routine.
so sunday morning, i get up at 4 something, i'm double checking the bags, double checking the local news, weather channel, packing lunch boxes for him to snack on the drive cause San Antonio is like 2 hours away, even if we go through Mathis, its like 2 hours.
im doing this and im trying to wake my husband up so he can help me load up the car and hes sound asleep 🙃
so im hauling ass to clean up because everyone all decided they wanted breakfast instead of buying tacos on the way out of town and my husband and child wake up at 6 to get ready for the trip and im like its fine. its all fine and honestly i wanted to scream.
we all load up in the two cars and my mom and her husband dont follow the gps well and they wanted to follow us instead of the gps because they're too set in their ways and thankfully my brother talked them into typing in the hotel address into the gps in case we got separated on the road.
anyway the fist half of the trip went without a hitch, until we hit the fist pit stop.
my child almost threw himself on the floor for a captain america plushie, one he ALREADY HAS and for a teddy bear backpack. it looked mangy af.
we get back on the road and he's eating his snack box, my other brother rode with us to help with the child and im grateful for that.
it wasn't until pit stop number 2 that all hell broke loose.
he went to the bathroom and on the way into the gas station they had a fuckload of looney tunes merch and those tweety palatas and he wanted one but we told him no cause it'll melt in the car and hes gonna gag when he feels it on him. he has a lot of texture issues and i was trying to avoid it.
instead we carried him out like a surf board and we had a 30 minute meltdown to deal with complete with spitting, kicking the back of the seat, taking his shoes off and trying to throw them at us, biting his blanky, throwing his stuffed animals at my brother who was trying to comfort him, and it was just a lot to deal with while we were trying to hear the gps and having to ignore my moms calls so we dont miss an exit.
we get to the hotel and my mom starts going off on how we drove so fast and that she almost lost us and she wasn't going anywhere and we were gonna have to go to the store for her.
i had to remind her we were gonna stay at my sister in laws because we dont have money for a room. we barely had money for gas.
we help her settle in and shes mad over the fact that the heb, walmart, and whataburger are a good distant aways and she was gonna have to drive to places and didn't want to. she claims i lied to her on the places nearby. i told her i didnt lie and i showed her on maps where the places were.
it was still too far for her. so me and my husband got our things and her list and bought what she asked for.
we got back to the room and everyone's on edge/upset and i feel so uncomfortable i wanna scream.
my child is wanting to run around and we all had to remind him its a hotel room and he can't be too loud or we can get kicked out. we ended up leaving to my inlaws after we got done running errands for my mom since her, her husband, and my brothers refused to drive anywhere in the city.
getting to my in laws was like driving to fury road oh my fucking god.
the construction!!!! i hate it. i'll never complain about Corpus traffic or construction again.
child ends up falling asleep on the way to the in laws and he ends up waking up when we get there and he makes himself right at home. he's never met my husbands sisters so it was really sweet how easy he went with them but also scary cause my child is too damn friendly and loveable.
the stay was stressful cause the house is not kid proof and thats not their fault, its their space, my sister in law and her husband have their apartment decorated their way and my younger sister in law has her space decorated her way.
we eventually get settled in and go to bed just to get a 5am wakeup call from my mom that the storm shifted waaaay the hell away and we can head back to town today.
packing up in chingas, waking up a sleepy child and having to guide him to the bathroom while hes half asleep was a thing, had to pack lunchboxes for him and then we were off.
we settled in and i wanted to sleep all day and i still haven't napped but i feel more relaxed now since the child is asleep and we unpacked and i feel better knowing the storm shifted.
the way back was a lot easier. one pit stop and the child didn't need to go to the bathroom until we got home so drive home was definitely a win.
i hope theres no more storms the rest of this hurricane season and i hope we dont have to leave anymore because i can't do this shit again.

I'm having a highly self-indulgent writing day so I'ma post a thing I just wrote about some OCs I got rattling around.
Peer beneath the read more if you're curious.
Have you heard? There's a new shop in Elmerton.
It's on the corner of 31st and Ocean Avenue, you know, where the old jewelry store used to be? It was bought up recently by a single mom with two kids. Sweet lady, very pretty, Greek. Goes by "Faye" or something, though I don't think that's how it's spelled. Don't ask me to even try with their last name, all I got was that it started with a K.
Anyway, this shop, it's called The Serpent's Nest. I think it earns its name on account of all the snake details in their decorating, especially the wallpaper. It sells occult stuff. You know: crystals, incense, bells-books-and-candles. She uses the old display cases to show statues and burners and cards and stuff instead of jewelry and she turned the bay window into a reading nook for people to try before they buy.
Not that kitschy kid stuff either I'm talking at least three double-sided bookshelves worth of spellbooks and junk written by people who take it serious. The ones that tell you what to do when the sixth moon is in the house of whatever, like they got in the Skulk and Lurk. The kind of stuff that would make most people ask what she does every month outside October if she wasn't setting up shop next to the most haunted town in Illinois.
Oh, and she's got a massive herb and spice section along the left wall and a fridge at the back so that she can make that crunchy health-nut money, too -- almost everything homegrown and homemade, apparently, or else sourced local. She said she had a garden or greenhouse on the roof of the building she keeps tended, along with a couple of those big boxy beehives beekeepers got. I guess they own the building and live on the upper floor.
Anyway, I got a really nice pomegranate honey for my granddad there, and she let me put up a flyer for his yarn stall at the Farmer's Market on the board she's got next to the door. Showed up the Wednesday after, too, and actually bought something. Like I said, sweet lady.
She doesn't dispense drugs, far as I know, but she's apparently working on getting a pharmaceutical license. Getting in on that holistic medicine business too, I guess, though she was pretty quick to tell a guy that his eczema problem is probably better taken care of at a doctor's than anything she's got. Pretty sure she was letting him down gently, but you know. Classy.
Yeah yeah I know I sound half in-love but if you'd seen her you'd get it. She's got that classic dark lady witchy thing going with the long purple dresses and the smoky eyeshadow and bold brown lipstick. She keeps her black hair tied back in this scarf up-do thing and she has curls and waves my sister would kill for. I know her eyes are brown but I swear that they look gold in the right light. Whole family has that, actually. And she's got this little smile like she knows something you don't but you can find out if you pay attention.
Some people get all the charisma, I tell you. Must be great for business. Well, when she's behind the counter, anyway. Sometimes it's one of her kids instead. Day and night, those two.
The older one is built like an Amazon and dresses like she either just got back from beating the hell out of a punching bag at the local gym or like she just got out from under a car that needed a tune-up. She works that whole atheleisure style with a long braid and extra grease stains. Maybe a leather jacket. Killer smile, must be another family thing, though hers made me feel a little bit like she knew she could crush me like a soda can if I crossed her and it's lucky for me that she's in a good mood today. Pretty, but intimidating, y'know?
Name's Diana, if I heard her mom right, though they were speaking Greek at the time so that's just a guess. I pity the guy who tries to hit on her mom while she's in earshot.
The other kid? Man. That one is... Well, they look like their mom? Except. Shorter and sharper. And more dark, like, dressing for your funeral but there's an MCR concert later kind of dark. You know how some people in that scene do. They didn't tie their hair back so it was just curl city like a cross between a Gothic dandelion and a sheep from hell, add some silver jewelry. Their eyeliner had wings clean enough to slice a man but they're also flat as a board so I mean. Hard to tell if they're a boy or girl.
Hey, I'm not saying that to be mean! They look like the kind of person that either likes confusing people, collects knives, or both. They were professional enough behind the counter -- not your typical glass-eyed Daria wannabe -- but they had this way of staring into your soul like they were debating how hard it'd be to pick you out from between their teeth if you took too long to get your change out of your pocket. Not sure if I ever actually saw them blink while I was working that out.
I only got some of their name because their sister wrangled them into something like a human shape when they had their shift change. Still speaking Greek, mind, so it was either Andre or Andrea. Something like that. Wasn't like I really had room to ask for clarification when they were up the stairs so quickly. Barely even heard their footsteps hit the ground.
I think the both of them are going to Casper High next semester. I tried to give their mom a heads up about our whole ghost thing, mention how Phantom pretty much called dibs on our airspace. She didn't seem too worried, but hey. The new people rarely do.
Anyway, it'll be nice to have a fresh source of ghost gear that doesn't have the name Fenton on it, even if it is a little old school. Assuming any of it works, I think those three are going to do pretty well for themselves around here. Can hardly do worse than the old mayor, right?
So. Wanna go?

Hey! Happy holidays! I hope you were able to have some quiet moments to enjoy your people or pasttimes, I remember you said holidays are really busy for you.
My mom did a funny for Christmas this year, and got me a lego set. A Lamborghini lego set. That she had shown me at walmart and said "I was going to get you this for Christmas, but I found something else I thought you'd like more" and I started laughing and told her she would've had me in a laughing fit if she had. Welp, Christmas came around, I open presents, and bam. Lego Lambo. I bout died laughing, and Ma confirmed that she went back and bought it after that conversation. It was good. Me and my sister got her back with her own lego set, my sister got legos. And then I got warned my dad might steal my car after I finished putting it together and ran around downstairs being a childish dork making car noises (vroooom), just because I was in a stupid giggly mood.
New years found another firework show being done in our neighborhood, and a friend and I drank enough to get really giggly and played a zombie survival game (7 days to die), which. We had a sober friend who was just witnessing it happen, and when we briefly played it sober afterwards, we both ended up agreeing that we made awful decisions in where we put our base, but we could not resist the Burgcaneer, the pirate themed burger joint. It even has a kid's play place designed in it, it was great.
I really hope you had a fun time while you were away, missed ya fiercely and am really happy to be able to talk with you again. In anon form, cause despite everything it's 80000x easier to gush without feeling embarrassed with that little grey face.
~Smooch
Happy Holidays to you as well Smooch~
I won't lie, the holidays wound up being a stressful mess with lots of work and some bad news with my family. But there were good moments, lots of soft feelings and smiles too. I got some books I've been wanting, and stuff for a new hobby (Lord knows I need ANOTHER hobby, but I'm happy anyway)
A little lamborghini lego sounds so cute~ It's funny that your mom did a 180 to run and buy it for you after seeing your reaction. Especially since it sounds like you had a lego-themed Christmas all around lol. Also, you got a lego lambo, you are entitled to make sfx and run around with it afterwards hehe
I did a little doodle after reading your ask, and surprisingly Sunny looks fine as a block of plastic.
I'm not good with horror of any kind, so I've never played a zombie game, but tipsy zombie survival would be fun to watch. I'd be the sober one watching and giggling over your pirate-burger base.
I missed your little grey anon face in my inbox too. It's always wonderful to touch bases and chat with you ^J^ I'm glad you had a happy holiday Smooch, and wish you a very Happy New Year.

Well at least when I woke up today my back didn't feel so bad. I threw it out yesterday just overdoing it, and was in agony at my aunt's house. The pain slowly bloomed, otherwise I would have stayed home if I knew it was going to get worse.
Sometimes when I throw out my back I need a toradol shot at the ER or clinic, but I think I get to avoid that. So instead I rested and slept most of the day away.
I did do a little bit of online black Friday shopping. My mom and I were planning on splitting the cost of a new TV for my younger sister who just moved back in after a break up and has an early December birthday. She's in my old room, the tiny one. She has a TV but it's a 19" and she says the resolution isn't as good. We got a 24" LED HD on sale, my mom will pick it up from Best buy. It's the same TV my mom spent about $90 for when her TV broke and we got this for $60, not too bad, I think.
I also got the nephew a hot wheels track loop to add to the tracks and cars I got him. I also had to add to the niece's gift, so I bought her an adorable Minnie mouse purse to go with the Minnie mouse cell phone I got her. I'm also giving her a hot wheels car with pink on it because oh does she love pink.
My Christmas shopping is nearly complete, I just need to get gifts for my parents and younger sister. I mostly know what I'm getting, I'll figure out the rest when I gets December's disability payment.
Lastly, Giles is feeling more like himself. He looks so much better and sounds even better. His breathing is still a little wheezy sometimes but nowhere near how bad it was when we took him to the vet on Monday.
And now he's sleeping peacefully next to me:

a very long list of things to be thankful for
being overly sincere is my curse but god sometimes i am just so thankful for the big and small ways people show up for me.
my friend cassidy lets me borrow their car--sometimes for weeks at a time--while they're out of town, even though I literally just hit the one year anniversary of having my license this week. it blows me away literally every time and is so incredibly kind because it means i don't have to carefully plan around my roommates to do the things i want and need to do, which always makes me feel very frustrated and trapped because i'm 29 and have never been able to just....get in the car and go without having to check with other people first. but i get to do that with their car, and it refills my tolerance and makes me feel hopeful and free. they also bought me pirate bugs to help me deal with my thrip infestation and they offered to help me replace any plants i had to get rid of, even though they were the one who gifted all of them to me in the first place and taught me how to take care of them and to trust myself to keep something alive.
my friend chris spent like six months driving 40 minutes to my house, giving me several hours of driving training, and then driving home. sometimes several times a week. they're a paramedic and have a very busy life and they still made that time for me because they knew i needed to be able to get around. and then they drove me an hour to my hometown to make me to my test because i was too nervous to test near where we live on account of having way more experience driving where i'm from. also they just?? do things?? like they went to two different places the other day to buy me a vape. and they made me a pizza and when they didn't have toppings i wanted they just...put on their shoes and went to kroger??? and got them?? i have to prepare to go to kroger for like four days and forget half of the things i wanted. i was blown away.
my friend lavender gets me a huge bag of salted cashews every time they go to whole foods because they know i'll forget to eat enough salt and protein and get dizzy if i don't have enough easy foods. they asked chris to tighten the toilet seat when i was going to be staying there for thirteen days, knowing that i don't trust most surfaces i'm sitting on and am always afraid of shifting wrong and breaking something. they took me on the first vacation i'd been on in years and specifically planned around my size and disabilities. they always want to spend time with me and are perfectly happy to just sit and listen while i talk about random shit and they think i'm a good friend and tell me all the time despite the fact that i am very hard to get ahold of and almost never respond to things.
my sister, knowing i was going to get a haircut i couldn't really afford, messaged our hairdresser and told them she was going to pay for it and didn't even tell me. she talks to me on the phone for hours at a time several times a week and texts me memes about things i like even if she doesn't know a thing about the fandom because she knows it'll make me smile. i can call her and launch into a 45 minute full detail run down of a book i'm reading and she'll just listen and crack jokes. she understands all of my references and she knows i have to get a new toothbrush every christmas or i'll cry so she always gets me one. she drives me around my own town and points out all the cool places i'd never notice on my own and then bullies me into going to them. she takes me to the art store and will spend an hour just looking at everything with me, even though we don't need art supplies and have seen everything fifty times before.
when my childhood best friend's mom found out i was having surgery she told me to call her and let her know if i wanted anything, even taco bell delivery, and she'd get it for me. sometimes i call her and she calls me her daughter (i cry every time) and she asks about my relationships and clapped when i told her i was going back to school.
my roommate asks me if i want to go with him every time he goes to the craft store because he knows i like to touch all the fabric and ogle all of the goods.
i posted a catty, passive-aggressive status the other day and when my friend found out what it was about she asked if in the future i should call her and get it out of my system or practice what i want to say to the person instead. and i was unrepentant and said sometimes i want to be mean and i meant what i said but that i was thankful that she cares about me growing as a person and living my own values and that even if i wasn't sorry this time she was right to say what she did and she said "of course, i know you'll always listen to me. I know you." she calls me while she's working on the farm and laughs with me. she once gave me a bag full of strawberry starters that were on their last legs and said "I want to see you happy" and even though the plants didn't survive I will never forget that gesture.
lake brings me food when they eat because they know i won't eat if someone doesn't remind me. they take care of my cats when i can't make it down the stairs and they watch the silly shows i want to watch just because i rarely express interest in things like that. they read my favourite book series just to be able to understand why i cared about it so much. they make me use an ice pack when i would never do so on my own and they spent two years driving me everywhere i needed to go before i got my license.
when their gramma was still alive and needed another caretaker, their mom said "I can't think of anyone I'd rather have taking care of her than Cheyenne" and she used to sit out on the porch and smoke cigarettes with me. she invited me over for the first mother's day without my mom and fed me dinner.
anderson notices when i stop responding in the group chat for more than a few days and always messages me to ask if i'm okay. they let me lead them through barnes and noble and point at all of the books i'd read and say what i liked or hated about them and watched dungeon meshi with me and cuddled me just because.
i have new friends who remind me to do my pt and care about me and send me memes and art they think i'll like. they stay up late talking about books and games with me and have helped me get two incredibly important things to manage my disabilities that i would not have been able to afford on my own.
everyone is so nice to me and i do not know what i do to deserve it. but i am very thankful and i am very known.

My sister got into a car accident during a snow storm on her way home from work like 4 months ago (after I told her to call in sick and she ignored me) she got a couple grand and me my mom and her pooled some money together to add to it so she could get a new car. So we share mine and my mom’s car in the meantime. My sister goes looking for a new (used) car online through dealerships and finds one she likes and tells our mom who promptly tells her no cause she’ll pay a note on it which is about $100 my mom then had the genius idea that she’ll give my sister her newly paid off car and she’ll buy a used car cause all of the cars are under her name and insurance. Okay fine. My mom gets another genius idea to buy a car from auction through a friend of a friend. Me and my sister firmly tell her no, she’s never met this man. She does it anyways. Fine. The car she wants is from a southern state. We’re northerners. I tell her no, the bank because she wants to wire this man the money tells her no. She decides to PayPal the man. I tell her if she does I’m taking my thousand dollars back. She starts tweaking about how I’m a child and should act like one (I’m 21) and I don’t know what she’s trying to do. I transfer my money back to me anyways. Suddenly I’m getting calls from my pastor and my sister is telling me just give her the money. I (stupidly) do it but say she’s going to get shat on in the end. Cause we’re all African and despite me being American I know not to do business with “friends” just because they’re countrymen. I was right in the end cause fucking car was a lemon and when I make it known my mom says it’s a hard lesson she learned. If she had listened from the jump she wouldn’t be in this position. And now my own car just crapped out so there’s one good car between the three of us. And until the guy sends a new car I can’t go to work. I told my mom I don’t want to hear about the car or how stressed she is and while I regret being mean about how I said I don’t regret stating my feelings because she’s not the only one affected and she’s not the only one stressed about how to pay for it. And she never listens to what I have to say. I’m always right in situations like these but no one listens until they’ve fucked up.
*me ignoring the emphasis on southerners and country men*
That's frustrating af lol. Like...without expressing my actual thoughts I don't really understand why your mom wouldn't be smarter about that? None of my immediate family has ever bought a car without checking it out themselves and getting a 2nd opinion from a mechanic
I know you're irritated as fuuuuuck bc yeah if she'd just listened to you the situation would be different and it's even wilder she didn't especially since this situation didn't just affect her. If it was just her and her money and her life cool she could be as careless as she wants but-

Word Find Tag
Thanks for the tag @clairelsonao3!
I found everything from the early chapters of The Mirror Effect.
And a quick TW: mentions of blood and animal death.
Also just a side note, typing with one hand is so hard, for context there’s a cute cat laying on me 🥹.
My words are buy, blood, break, been
I couldn’t find buy but I found bought:
The siblings continued to bicker before Noah had enough. “Would you all please Shut. Up!” He yelled slamming the table. So hard, he ended up breaking a cup that was near the edge of the table. They were all stunned, the girls were more stunned at their brother's sudden outburst. “Shit.” He sighed loudly into his hands. “Nice one bro. What else are you going to break? And after I bought you guys donuts and everything.” Lucille said laced with sarcasm.
Break:
With less than two hours until people arrived home, she decided to pass the time reading and snacking on chips. She did most of her homework during lunch break so she decided to finish the rest after dinner.
Been:
This is Lucille’s first year of high school and Taelors third year. It’s been a month since school started the air was starting to get a little cooler, the trees haven’t started changing yet but today was dreary. The news mentioned a possible shower and Lucille forgot her umbrella, hopefully her older brother Noah wasn’t busy with his college classes later and could pick them up.
Blood is mentioned a lot in this scene:
Lucille had to help Taelor figure out what she was going to do. They sat on Taelor’s bed trying to come up with ideas. “Vampires drink blood right? We need blood.” Lucille said. “No shit Sherlock! Where are we going to get blood from?” “You’d have to eat animals obviously.” “I can’t do that! That’s horrible.” Lucille rolled her eyes. “Well, would you rather kill us? And didn’t you say you ate a racoon before?” “It was hit by a car, it was already dead.” Taelor pouted, crossing her arms. Lucille groaned, her sister was being impossible. “I have an idea…” “Oh great, hopefully you won’t give me another curse.” “Not with the book, dumbass! We can get blood from the hospital mom and Craig work at.” “And just how do you plan on getting there?” “Noah can bring us, but we need to be stealthy.” Lucille told her the rest of her plan.

The Origins of a Diapered Loser, Chapter 2
Some people who know about my shameful diapered childhood have asked me about where my mom got diapers big enough for someone bigger than a toddler. And yes, they have always made bigger diapers. When I was growing up, I wore Attends Youth Briefs primarily. I think there was one generic medical brand that I wore on occasion, but mostly it was Attends Youth.
But they didn’t sell them at your average chain drug store, so we had to go to a speciality medical supply store nearby us to find them. And once my mom found this store, we became regular customers. So whenever my diaper supply started to run low, my mom would say “we have to go buy some more Special Pampers for Michael,” often with my sister and whoever else in the room or in the car. This would always make me turn red with embarrassment, but again, she didn’t seem to care.
It was a bit of a drive to the medical supply store , so I’d invariably be diapered there just in case, doubling my humiliation. So my mom would drag me into the store, with the telltale crinkle emanating from beneath my sweatpants. We were such frequent shoppers that the lady who ran the store - let’s call her Maria; I don’t want to use her real name - knew us by name. Maria was a tall, pretty Puerto Rican lady, a bit younger than my mom.
Maria was also a tough mom type, so her and my mom were two peas in a pod, and she also had no qualms about talking about my diapers out loud, regardless of who was in the store, (including, sometimes her daughter who was about 10 years older than me, and got in her giggles at my expense, naturally.) “Hi Ms. Rosen, does Michael need more Special Pampers?” She would ask. (I don’t know who came up with the term, but they both used it.)
“Yes, Maria, he’s just about out.” Sometimes she’d then make an offhand comment shaming me, “You know you really need to keep your pants dry so your mommy doesn’t have to keep putting you in Pampers, Michael. You’re too old to be in Pampers.” I’d just stare at the floor, humiliated. This was always an opportunity for new people to find out I was a Diapered Loser. And even though they were strangers, it was no less embarrassing.
And in case you were wondering, yes, on at least one occasion, I had my diaper checked and changed in the store. The one time I remember vividly, Maria and my mom were once again chatting about my shameful existence, and I guess Maria heard me crinkling. “Sounds like he has his Pampers on right now. Did he wet his pants today?” She knew about the circumstances of my daytime diapering from my mom and her many conversations about me.
“No,” my mom replied, “but we have a long car ride, and Michael sometimes can’t stay dry for those.”
"Oh yeah?" Maria asked, smirking, "Did you stay dry like a big boy today, Michael?" I didn't answer.
"Answer her, Michael," my mom said sternly. Lying about being wet was something that would get me in big trouble, so I sheepishly shook my head in the negative. My mom rolled her eyes, "Unbelievable," she said, exasperated. "Well, at least we just bought plenty of Special Pampers, we just need to find a place to change you."
"You can use the fitting room in back," Maria offered.
"Really?" my mom asked, "are you sure it's not a problem?"
"Not a problem at all," Maria answered, directing us to the fitting room. "Angie," she said to her clearly amused daughter, "Can you mind the store while I help Ms. Rosen with Michael?" Her daughter replied "Sure," suppressing a giggle.
My. mom shoved the bags of diapers into my hands, so I could carry them. It always added to my shame having to carry my own diapers around. The three of us walked to the fitting room in back. There were only a couple of other customers in the store, but that was more than enough to make me wish I could disappear.
We entered the room and Maria shut the door behind us. My mom sat down in a chair and motioned for me to stand in front of her. I did so. She yanked my sweatpants down, exposing my diaper with the telltale blue wetness indicator strip, Again, total humiliation, only to be topped by my mom untaping my wet diaper and exposing me to Maria, who handed my mom some wipes. My mom wiped my wet crotch and then opened one of the packages of diapers and pulled one out, unfolded it, pulled it up between my legs and taped it tightly in place. She then pulled up my sweatpants and handed me the rolled up dirty diaper to throw out, while saying to Maria “his Pampers are his responsibility.” I walked it over to the wastebasket and tossed it. My mom handed the packages of diapers to me, and we exited out to the store, she paid and we left.
This stands out as one of the most humiliating episodes in the life of this Diapered Loser. More to come.
In the meantime, feel free to comment, ask questions and tell me how pathetic I am!

I just need to throw something in the void because i have No Idea how to feel about this.
So, if you've seen these void posts, then you know that my mom has absolutely lost it and is selling her house and randomly buying one in a totally different state. The news came to me randomly. She was just "I'm heading up to TN and looking out houses, might buy and sell my house." And I'm just caught incredibly off guard because there was zero forewarning. Anyways, after that whole phone call where i was honestly very shocked and very scared, and having her basically say that I'm moving in with her without really asking what i wanted. And also disregarding my sister who will be left in FL ALONE at college (like what the fuck). Anyways, I told her to CALL ME when she found a house or was on her way back home.
She didn't. For some reason she expects me to call her and then gets mad that i don't call her.
So, i get a notif from facebook saying my mom posted. Apparently she sold her house today for her original lowballing price. Which is first, how you get it to sell immediately to FLIPPERS and airbnb people. Both me and my dad told her to go with like $400k or so which she COULD GET and then get them to talk her down because she was just "gonna sell for 300k" which WHY? You could get half a mil for your house if you wanted to right now. It's near water. Prime location. By a fire station. It's worth MORE. You remodeled the back half. It's worth MORE. It sold at the FIRST showing. For so much less than it was worth. My dad has already commented there that he was telling her to ask for more. Her house is worth MORE. But she's just "You don't know shit. don't tell me what to do." So, I'm assuming, because she Didn't Fucking Call Me, that she bought a house. Like thanks. If you're expecting me to move in with you, communicate?? Tell me about the house?? Tell me what you're doing??
Either way, I've come up with a totally different plan because i was literally just using her as a landing pad to get back to my hometown. I wasn't specifically wanting to move back in with her. I just wanted to GO HOME. New place in TN isn't HOME. THAT house you sold for shit, is HOME. SO. The long-distance bf. He's getting an apartment cleaned out. It's attached to his mom's place and she's only going to charge us like 100-200 a month. It's just a small on bedroom place above the car port. It's spacious for what it is, it just needs MAJOR cleaning because his shit sister left beyond a simple mess. Complete with food trash and dog shit and furniture. This morning he'd been focusing on cleaning the fridge out. Which yeah, she left A LOT in. Like tf. She left something atrocious. Like it's not just a couple days' work. It's a couple weeks. There's even a door that has to be replaced because she took the bedroom and CUT THE DOOR IN HALF and used it specifically for her young daughter. Then proceeded to board up the porch and use that as her bedroom. Which they're just filling with all her shit and locking off from the apartment, because apparently she's got sticky fingers and they don't want her in the apartment stealing our shit when she picks up hers. So, they're opening up the side/back door to use as the main door. Because yeah, that "porch" is a mess and it's barely got a path to get in through anymore.
So yeah, moving in with him. Honestly, it feels like a good option. I know we get along well and he's a lot better with communication than other people I've dealt with, so if we hit any bumps suddenly with cohabitation together, I'm sure we can figure it out fine. And with something that has happened with him (some huge lego set that he was promised after getting a job by his grandparents), I've learned how to get him to leave me alone for hours on end if I need that. Like, I know i can definitely just ask if he hangs out in the bedroom and me living room or vice versa for a bit if we need space, but you know. If it comes to it, i at least have that knowledge. But it seems like a nice place. If we need help, his family is literally on the other side of the wall. There's goats, dogs, and cats on the property. It's like ten minutes out of town in the woods, so it's quiet. And honestly, I've been wanting to have him around like really bad for a good long while now. The plan if my mom hadn't moved, would be staying there and doing the test to see if we could live together by basically spending a couple days together, so we're skipping the testing period. But at least that means i won't have to move my stuff twice, just skipping the middleman and bringing it all there. But my mom is already in her process. So, I'm just going to go straight there once I can. He's already offered to pay the price of getting me there which helps immensely because the only reason I'm not in that town yet is because we haven't had the money. Quite literally, as soon as the repairs on my car are done and he's got the place cleared out, then we're good to go.
I should probably tell my dad he offered to pay that.
ANYWAYS. I should call my mom at some point and tell her my plan because I don't want to go with her and basically get trapped by her again. Ntm because she still also hasn't cut off her nazi ex husband. I basically explained that to my dad and he was just nodding and agreeing. Like he understands exactly why I wouldn't want to just up and move in with her alone.
I should also call my sister and get her that remote job referral. And tell her that she won't be alone in the state and we'd have a couch for her to crash on if she needs a place to stay over school breaks.
I do want to move in with this guy. Really do. But WHY can't my mom return her expectations for me and CALL?? I wanted updates. I told her to give me updates. She did not. I came up with another plan instead of just having the "I'll stay with her for a year or two and then eventually we'll get together." No no no. I'm going right to him. Fuck staying with my mom and getting trapped under her control again.
#taks speaks#VERY frustrated with my mom right now#she gets mad that i don't call her and she won't do something as simple as CALL ME when i ask her to#I've got someone else and a backup plan so fuck all that#done dealing with her randomly deciding to just up and leave#if she wants to leave and leave behind her other child in the hellscape that is FL then she doesn't get me either#we're in this together and I'm getting a place where she's got a landing pad to stay if things go wrong at college

Excuse a moment of venting, but I am VERY upset right now…
$250? I don’t have $250 lying around!
This got sprung on me. The vehicles are in Mom’s name, and it was being paid from her funds, but now my brother and sister-in-law decided that since I drive them I am responsible for the inspections, taxes, etc. Which sounds fair enough, even if they STILL aren’t in my name.
Except….
They waited until after the bills were sent to tell me. December. After buying my Christmas groceries. When I don’t have $250.
And I still need to have the bill forwarded from them to me to pay it, which they may or may not get around to this month. Because they never, ever send things to me quickly. They do it when they feel like it. Days. Weeks. Months. Dates on things mean nothing to them. And if I pay late the fines are insane.
Just get rid if the vehicles they, and maybe you, say, not living where I do and with the life I have.
I have to have the car and pickup!!! I need the car to go anywhere more than a mile away, and the pickup is unreliable but I need it for moving stuff for repairing things! You can’t move lumber between houses in a car damn it!! I don’t have giant fuckin’ SUVs like them, I have a dinky anything but new little car and a 35yr old pickup. I live in the middle of nowhere and have to drive, even between houses because of that damn four lane highway in between! You gonna bike 10 miles and then back on a four lane road to buy 100lbs of hog feed??
Sorry. I don’t know how I am going to deal with this!! I haven’t been able to afford things like oil changes and tune ups, but I have been able to keep the vehicles running, and with the bare minimum of gas.
If they had warned me a couple of months ago I could have planned for it, not bought turkey for Christmas, not bought kerosene for hot water and just boiled water for showering back when the house wasn’t so cold, skipped meals, I dunno…. But now it is due immediately and I am too broke!!!
I know, I deserve this for being so worthless. If I weren’t an utter failure, if I had done things differently when I was young, if I had profitable talents and skills, were at least lovable and charming so people wanted to help me….
But I guess at this point I am what I am, too pathetic and ugly and stupid to exist in our modern, expensive world. There is no space for someone like me.
Oh, and I am having to deal with the county tax office about property I don’t own and a check I didn’t write, because….well, I don’t understand it either yet. It was something my brother with power of attorney for Mom was supposed to take care of, so how I am the contact person to sort it out I have NO idea.
Meanwhile the plumbing isn’t working at all again, the light in the living room has failed so I sit in the dark, my fingers get so cold in the house that they turn red when I sculpt, and all the usual problems are on going. I just needed a few more problems I guess.
Merry fuckin’ Christmas folks! Maybe I’ll get lucky an die of hypothermia getting the Christmas tree Saturday.

(I'm in the middle of writing this and want to say that the exact details of the order of events might be a bit wrong, but not in a way that matters so it doesn't really matter)
... I finally replaced my bed. My old one was one of those couch-bed hybrids and the springs were broken or something because it had a depression where I would sleep.
Then, I put half the money and dad the other half (I think I bought the mattress and him the frame, it was around 50/50 either way I think, he paid a little more maybe? I don't remember exactly) to buy myself a new bed.
We went to the store Sunday (maybe Saturday?) and took the bed home, and placed it in the living room, planning to build it next weekend.
I didn't tell anyone but I had my 2nd set of mock exams the following week (they were useless, trust me) so I had those Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Monday and Tuesday I had regular school. So Wednesday I finished the exam, went home and watched YouTube the rest of the day or whatever, then Thursday I finished the exam, went home and DAD'S CAR IS THERE. It kinda sucked because I was a few hours earlier than I was supposed to be home, since the exam is only 3 hours, but luckily since it was the end of the year I could just say I had useless classes the rest of the day so we asked if we could go home.
So I go though the gate, my old bed was already burning and he was taking out the last pieces of it. We talked a bit and then I changed, ate, and helped him move my desk and closet, and put tape and cover the floors so we could paint the walls. It was nice! We painted the first layer and then he said that he'll paint the 2nd when I'm at school the next day. He ended up painting it that night alone and then did a 3rd layer the next day.
Friday, I finished exam, but I had to pick up the robe afterwards, so I stayed more than the 3 hours, which was fine because he thought I had regular school! It wasn't completely fine tho, because yesterday was so much fun! I almost felt bad not going home quicker and left him on his own but I couldn't leave. After an hour or something the robes finally came, and I went home. I showed him my robe, but he was already drunk, I think he drank a little the previous day too but he was probably more drunk in that moment than he was any time during the previous day. He took a picture to show mom and then I changed, ate and got to work on the bed!
So, one thing about dad is that he works really slow, he takes his sweet time with EVERYTHING, and it can get kinda annoying sometimes, but it's fine because I was spending time with him. So we gather the pieces and take them to my room to build the frame, it took a while, and if I wasn't there he would have done it wrong but we finished putting the 4 main planks together in... like 3 hours! WORLD RECORD TIME! It really didn't help he would go every 20 minutes to have another drink, getting drunker each time. It also didn't help that he would talk about me having sex on the bed CONSTANTLY, not in a Freudian way if that makes sense, but it was still weird because this is your child you're talking about.
Then, sister gets home from college, he keeps talking about sex with her there, even asks her if she thinks it'll happen or some shit??? When we're alone I tell her it's been happening all day and she tells me that he's drunk and to just ignore him. Fine, I was doing that anyway.
Ok, The day is over, I forget how much we managed to do but we didn't finish it yet. I don't remember if I slept on it that night, but I don't think so.
Saturday, I get up, eat, and continue building the bed! And dad, since he drank so much yesterday, started drinking again! So he wouldn't get hangover I guess. He keeps talking about sex, constantly, while I uncomfortably try to get him to not do anything stupid and ruin the frame. Half a day later, IT'S DONE! finally! Would have taken less if I just built it on my own but whatever, it's a bonding experience! But the day isn't over, so we go outside and he decides to burn the bed pieces that remained (we used stronger wood for the thing the mattress stays on because my sister's broke after a year or something). So we do that, and he decided to burn everything! Well all the trash I mean, so we went in his shed and threw everything out that he didn't need anymore. So there's a nice fire going on in the background.
Next, he sees there's some paint left and it would dry if we didn't use it so we painted the chicken coup door and the door to his shed, well half the door because we ran out of paint, well a quarter of the door since it was a double door.
This might have happened before we painted I don't remember but he randomly said "It doesn't matter if mom doesn't come back, because we can just call Wife Swap and they'll give us a new one, right?" (For context, mom is working outside of the country, and Wife Swap is a tv show where two families switch wives/moms and they have to learn to live together). That came out of NOWHERE, it hadn't even been a possibility for me that mom wouldn't come home. In the moment I thought he meant if she got hurt? or something but considering the divorce... he probably knew something or other, I just give a little "yeah". Fine, he's drunk whatever, he made a dumb joke, except he says it again, and again and AGAIN. I don't even remember how many times he said it, he just kept repeating it. One time I tried to play along and said something like "you need to give them back a wife too" and he just looked at me without saying anything. Didn't laugh at my joke ): .
Ok so, we paint the door, and it's getting dark, like dark enough where you can't see in front of you. Dad is probably drunk enough that he's not gonna remember anything past this point, and I sit outside with him so he doesn't throw himself in the fire or whatever dumb stuff goes though his head while drunk. And something dumb does go though his head... (for context again, around this time my dog gave birth and we were keeping the puppies in this doghouse so they'd be nice and cozy) he said "What if I throw the whole doghouse in the fire" (implying that the dogs are still inside) I don't say anything for a few seconds and he follows up with "No, God would strike me down if I did" REALLY? THAT'S THE THING THAT'S KEEPING YOU FROM DOING IT? Like if he wasn't ""religious"" would he do it? I get it was an intrusive thought, I get those too, but afterwards I just go "wow that'd be fucked up to do", because it is fucked up, and it's fine because it's intrusive and you won't act on it!
Of course, he keeps repeating it, followed by "God would strike me down", is it even intrusive at that point? Sister was studying in her room the entire time but she had some soup cooking so she came outside to check on it, and he also told her the joke. She responded "You're drunk, dad". He didn't take this well, he just sat down on a chair and was like "I'm never drinking again" I sat next to him and he went on "To be told by your own daughter to never drink again" she didn't say that but whatever, "she got upset at me cause she really thought I'm throwing the dogs in the fire" she didn't.
I don't really remember anything past this point, I think he asked me about porn or something? I just left after that. The next day we went to church and he bought a can of beer after we left.
I know this isn't the most interesting or traumatic thing to happen when someone's dad is drunk but this really changed my opinion of him, he hasn't gotten that drunk since but he has picked up smoking. IDEK, I didn't do anything today so might as well write this,

December 29, 2013- January 4, 2014
Sunday
We set off early in the morning, embarking on a journey that proved to be truly healing, allowing me to momentarily forget my own shortcomings.
I asked if he could stay over at my house tonight, and he graciously agreed. After showering at home, we arrived back at my place by three in the afternoon. We treated ourselves to a delicious Samgyeopsal dinner at the Pearl restaurant, savoring the exquisite meat.
"You're not tired of me yet?" I teased.
He shook his head. "Never."
His mom called, inquiring when he would return home. He assured her he would stay at my place first, and she even requested that I join them. I swore to myself, conflicted by my feelings. My parents were due back soon, so I might not be able to go.
Later, we watched "Blue is the Warmest Color." We laughed at the girl-to-girl scenes and even made a pact not to react, though we eventually gave in and fast-forwarded through them. Before drifting off to sleep, we shared stories and exchanged thoughts.
Monday
Sir Apollo had been messaging me frequently on my other number via Nokia. Mansoor and I went into town, and I stocked up on groceries for my family.
Just in time, my parents arrived that night. We were visited by my sisters, Jean and Juaning, who shared the sad news of their in-laws' passing.
Tuesday
It was New Year's Eve, and my parents traveled to Trinidad for a wake. I bought a flat-screen television and a phone for Ran, using my salary of P32,000 plus a P4,000 bonus, totaling more than P80,000 in earnings.
We gathered around the new television to celebrate the New Year. Dad was thrilled with the setup.
Wednesday
Happy 2014! The day was gloomy, so I spent it watching "2 Broke Girls" and started diving into "Game of Thrones." My parents attended a burial ceremony.
Thursday
I decided to sell my iPad to fund a new one, so I listed it on a buy-and-sell market and Facebook. It sold quickly to a guy for P12,000.
I made a deposit and then went to the gadget store to purchase the latest iPad. I also bought a graphic tablet.
Sir Apollo wanted to meet up with me. My heart raced with anticipation. We met at Cafe Will, a restaurant bar, but couldn't stay long due to his prior commitments. However, we shared an intense make-out session in his car. The sensation of his facial hair against my skin heightened the moment.
He sucked my neck and licked my ears. He seemed to have no control of his lust.
He tried to touch my breasts. I giggled telling him to stop. I know that since he's an older man, he is experienced in sex and would expect me to give in.
"Ang bango mo," he licked my neck which tickled me.
"Is this all we are doing?" I asked.
"Well we can't be seen anywhere. We are still teacher and student."
He's still on top of me. He placed my hair behind my ear.
"Ganito, next week, enrollment--let's go somewhere, okay?"
That's a ba idea.
"Are you married?"
I asked out of the blue.
"Tinanong mo na yan diba? Would I be here if I was married."
"Many people do."
I knew I needed to tell him about my other relationship, but I didn't know how. But then he dropped me off to somewhere because I didn't want him to know my exact address.
Friday
Hollmae and I discussed attending a UDD concert, which cost P250 per ticket. She couldn't afford it, so I offered to pay for both of us. Mansoor wasn't keen on concerts. We also secured tickets for the Concoctions bar on January 25.
Tina visited today, but we didn't have a chance to talk. Roxanne was also home.
Saturday
At home, I spent the day reading Edith Hamilton's "Greek Mythology" and enjoying new subscriptions to Esquire magazine.
I found myself intrigued by a certain Erwin R-.
I binge-watched series throughout the day and contemplated learning Spanish or Japanese. I researched online schools but realized I needed to enroll for the last trimester to access my actual schedule.
There was so much I wanted to learn and explore.
