"well, my vote doesn't matter!" okay, maybe your vote for potus isn't as statistically significant as we would like to think, but your votes on literally everything else DO, in fact, make a difference. the democratic candidate for the house of reps in my district defeated the republican incumbent (who has had the seat for MULTIPLE elections!) by 7,000 votes!! SEVEN THOUSAND!! that's only a couple percentage points but it STILL made a difference! those seven thousand people helped accomplish something notoriously difficult!!! you can absolutely make a difference with your vote!

Request: Idk I don’t have like a request request but anything with jj maybank honestly okay or maybe the way 13 going on 30 randomly popped in my head like maybe Jenna and matty vibes @idontevenknowbsblog
Summary: JJ Maybank had been your best friend since you were 4 years old and then life started to complicate things.
AN: this is a long one lol and maybe not as close to Jenna and Matty but definitely a best friends to lovers, I got carried away lol not edited
Your mom would joke that it was fate for JJ Maybank to end up in your life. It was fate that her and JJ’s mom would be in the same lamaze class. Because of fate and that friendship, it formed the relationship you cherished the most. JJ was a constant. If there was one thing you could rely on, it was JJ always being there.
Even after his mom left, JJ was there. Moreso after Luke began the drinking and the drugs. It was often a point of contention between him and your mother. She felt she owed it to her long time friend to look after her son and Luke put JJ in danger every day.
Kindergarten started with you and JJ, and ended with you, JJ, John B and Pope. The four of you becoming an instant package deal.
The three of them were there when your dad passed away suddenly when you were 10. Though John B and Pope were supportive, JJ never left your house. Sleeping in a sleeping bag outside your bedroom door for weeks.
It was the four of you navigating your adolescence up until the age of 14. The Summer before sophomore year started with four and finished with five.
Kiara became a fast friend when her parents opened The Wreck and you needed a Summer job to keep you busy. The rest was history, Kie’s Kook year being nothing but a snide comment here and there.
JJ joked that you were the glue that held the Pogues together. If they didn’t have you they’d all fall apart. He loved you since you were 14, all throughout high school and he never said a thing. You staying in his life was more important than how you stayed in his life.
Now you were quickly approaching graduation. You hadn’t been too open about your post-grad plans and that worried him.
He was worried you were going to leave him and never come back. Was it overdramatic? Sure, but it was also realistic. You were always too good for him and maybe that’s why he never told you how he felt.
It was the night before the first day of senior year and the Pogues were sitting around the fire at the Chateau.
“What are everyone’s post-grad plans? We haven’t really talked about it.” John B spoke. “Way to kill the mood, dude.” JJ replied. “Come on, we have to talk about it. We can’t stay at the Chateau forever.” John B replied. “Well, I got into USC. Only a 6 hour drive from you guys.” Kie said.
“I’ll be going to community college on the mainland.” Pope replied. “Starting trade school next fall, open up my own garage here.” John B said. “Y/N, what about you?” Kie asked. “Oh, well, if you would’ve asked me two weeks ago I would’ve said nothing at all but, I do have some news.” You answered.
JJ furrowed his eyebrows at your words. News? What have you not told him? You tell him everything.
“I applied to UNC and I got in. Almost a full ride but I’ll work for the rest of my tuition.” You announced. The Pogues cheered and came to their feet to applaud you. You had always talked about attending UNC ever since you found out your dad had attended.
“That’s amazing, Y/N!” John B cheered. “And only 3 hours from you and J.” You commented. JJ being the only one to not congratulate you didn’t go unnoticed by you. While everyone was occupied, you nudged his foot with yours, signalling to go down to the dock.
You both got up from your spots and walked down to the water in silence. “I know what you’re thinking,” You started. “And what am I thinking?”JJ asked. “You think I’m leaving you. That I’m going to move on from you, find something better.” You continued.
JJ’s silence proved that your thoughts were right. “J, I’m not going anywhere yet. It’s only August, we have almost a year left.” You spoke. “Y/N, this is UNC. You’re going to school, get your fancy degree and move on from your entire life. Me included, you won’t want to hang out with some guy who’s doing nothing with his life.” JJ explained.
“You’re taking over the entire yacht club. That’s a big deal! You’re going to be getting a head start with your life while I’ll be in school for 8 years waiting to start mine.” You replied. “Besides, you think 3 hours is going to keep me away?” You added.
JJ shrugged, his gaze fixated on the water in front of him. “You’re my best friend, JJ. I would never leave you behind.” You added. “Do you promise?” He asked. “I promise.” You said, holding out your pinky in front of him.
“A pinky promise? Come on, Y/N, we’re 18.” JJ said. “And when have I ever broken a pinky promise?” You rebutted. JJ smirked slightly before hooking his pinky with your’s.
XX
It was October. The leaves began to change and the air was becoming brisk. Fall had descended upon the Outer Banks and Fall meant homecoming. You thought you had outgrown the excitement for homecoming but it was your last one. And you thought that maybe homecoming was the perfect time to tell JJ how you felt about him.
Somewhere between 15 and 16, the feelings of love you had for JJ had gone from platonic to the complete opposite. That was why you held off on telling JJ about UNC. Thinking that you two could live in your perfect teenage bubble for a little while longer.
You felt stupid for trying to pursue a relationship with JJ a few months before you left for college but your friendship has withstood the test of time, it could withstand 266 miles. Right? You owed it to yourself to try.
“So, are you going to ask JJ to homecoming?” Kie asked. “How did you know?” You asked your friend as the pair of you stood at her locker. “Because I know you, Y/N. You’ve had feelings for you for as long as I’ve known you. You look at him the same way you look at Paul Mescal.” She teased.
“Yeah, I think I’m going to ask him. I’m terrified he’s going to say no and then I ruined everything.” You said. “He’s not going to say no. And even if he does, you guys have been through too much to let something this small ruin your friendship.” Kie replied.
You wanted to believe her and that everything was going to be fine one way or another bit as you stood outside JJ’s house, pacing, you couldn’t help but think of the worst case scenario. Luke was MIA so you didn’t have to worry about him storming outside.
JJ walked by his front door and heard your voice mumbling outside. He looked out the window and saw you pacing on his lawn. “Y/N? What are you doing here?” JJ asked as he opened the screen door.
“J, hey, uh I just wanted to ask you something. Or tell you something.” You stammered. “You okay?” He questioned. “Yeah, yeah I’m good.” You said. “What’s up?” He asked.
“Okay, so um, would you want to go to homecoming with me? Either as friends or, uh, more than friends?” You said, avoiding his gaze at all possible. “What?” He questioned. “Do you want to go to homecoming with me? Not as friends but as a date?” You repeated.
JJ thought he was dreaming. Were you really telling him you wanted to go to homecoming as more than friends? But why now? You were leaving for Chapel Hill in the Fall, how is it fair to either of you to pursue your feelings when you’ll just be leaving?
“Y/N, you’re leaving in August. I don’t think you want to do this.” He said. Your face fell as you processed his words. “I’m sorry, what?” You asked. “You’re leaving. Even if I felt the same way, we couldn’t do long distance.” He lied.
JJ lied through his teeth. He had to because he knew you needed to go to UNC. It was your dream, it’s where you always wanted to go. He couldn’t stand in the way of that. It was going to be harder as friends, he couldn’t imagine what it’d be like as your boyfriend.
Though seeing the look on your face made him wish he could take those words back. “Uh, this was a mistake. I should go.” You said, backing away slowly from his front porch.
You were so embarrassed, how could you have misread everything that poorly. “Y/N, we-“ JJ started. “Don’t. Please don’t make me feel worse than I already do.” You interrupted, before turning around and walking home.
JJ could see not only the unshed tears in your eyes, but the hurt as well. He could’ve been honest, told you the truth. He didn’t know how you’d both do long distance once you were in college. He was scared to lose you but he did anyway by lying.
You got home and walked through the front door and saw your mom standing in the entryway. “How’d it go?” She asked. But she could tell by the look on your face that it did not go well.
All you did in response was finally break down in tears. Your mom gave you a solemn look before she walked over and wrapped you in an embrace. “Oh honey, I’m sorry.” She spoke. “I feel so stupid.” You cried. “You’re not stupid, Y/N, you just loved him.”
XX
It was now December. Homecoming came and went and you didn’t go. Two months had gone by and you hadn’t spoken to JJ. You were angry, embarrassed, confused. Why did you think JJ felt the same way? Why did you ruin your friendship like this?
JJ called you everyday, sent texts, but you didn’t want to see or hear what he had to say. You were angry with him for embarrassing you the way he did. And you were stupid enough to think he actually liked you. He was JJ Maybank for crying out loud, every girl in your grade wanted to be with JJ. What made you different?
That meant that your relationship with the Pogues was suffering. You didn’t want to make them choose sides so you made the decision for them and therefore stopped seeing them as often.
But it was now Winter Break and they were determined to figure out what exactly had gone wrong.
“So what’s going on with you and JJ? You haven’t spoke in months.” John B asked as you sat outside your house. “Nothing. What did he tell you?” You questioned.
“Nothing. Just like you. Seriously, Y/N, what happened?” John B questioned. You were quiet for a moment, fidgeting with your fingers.
“I told him how I felt. I told him that I wanted to go to homecoming with him as more than a friend and he rejected me. He doesn’t feel the same way.” You explained.
John B was silent. More so out of confusion than anything else. How could JJ say he didn’t feel the same way when he 100% did?
“Can we please not talk about it? I’m embarrassed enough as it is.” You added, standing up to walk back inside.
John B was going to figure this out one way or another.
He arrived at home and saw JJ’s bike out front. “J?” He called entering the home. “What’s up?” JJ asked, entering the living room. “What is going on with you and Y/N? And don’t lie and tell me nothing. She told me everything.” John B questioned.
JJ was quiet for a moment, knowing that he was going to have to face his mistake. “You have feelings for her, J. Why did you tell her you didn’t?” John B added.
“Because she’s leaving. She’s going to UNC, going to make all of her dreams come true and I can’t be holding her back. What happens if we got together? One, she stays here for me and then down the line resents the fact she stayed instead of following her dreams. Two, I get my heart broken because I fall even more in love with her and she leaves. It doesn’t end well for either of us either way.” JJ answered.
“JJ, you can’t live your life like that. Have you ever thought about going with her? They have jobs in Chapel Hill.” John B suggested. “And be her loser boyfriend who followed her from home?” JJ scoffed. “Now you’re just being a jerk. And being way too hard on yourself.” His friend said.
“It’s the truth, John B.” JJ replied. “No it’s not. You just won’t let yourself be happy.” John B told him.
JJ was quiet as John B walked off to his room. Maybe he had a point. He was finding excuse after excuse to not let himself be happy. But his entire life was based on waiting for the other shoe to drop.
You were the most important person to him and he couldn’t lose you like he’s lost everyone else. What was he supposed to do? The damage was done, you weren’t talking to him. There was no way he could make things right.
His body moved before his brain could catch up, and he was getting on his bike making a run for your house. John B was right. He shouldn’t be letting these things get in the way of something that would make him happy.
When he arrived, he barely turned the bike off before he was already off. He just stood there for a moment, thinking about what he was going to do next. He didn’t really leave with a plan.
JJ looked down at the flower bed and saw small pebbles and his brain kicked into over drive.
He tossed the first pebble at your window, the sound slightly echoing off the glass. After a few seconds, he tossed another one.
You were sitting on your bed reading a book when you heard taps on your window. You furrowed your eyebrows as you discarded the book and walked to the window.
The sight shocked you. JJ was standing outside tossing rocks at your window. You slid your window opened and looked out. “JJ, what are you doing here?” You asked.
“You weren’t answering my calls or texts.” He says. “I know. That was on purpose.” You sassed back. “I want to say…I lied to you,” He started.
“I lied to you the night you asked me to homecoming. I do feel the same way. I have since we were 14 and you punched Rafe Cameron in the nose for making fun of my backpack. You’re my best friend. You’re perfect and I just got scared. Scared that no matter what, we were just going to be another high school couple and never speak again once you leave. I love you, Y/N and I was stupid to make you think that I don’t.” JJ finished.
“Give me a sec.” You said before closing the window. JJ’s heart sank. Were you going to reject him? He felt like he was going to throw up from anxiety.
JJ heard the front door open and moved to stand in front of your porch. You walked out in your seashell pajamas that you bought with Sarah last year.
"Do you mean all of that?" You asked. "You're not just going to bail when it gets hard?" You added. "No, no I'm not going to bail. You're worth it, Y/N. Like you said you'll only be a few hours away. I could be in Chapel Hill by noon on a Wednesday if you said the word." JJ said.
"Then I guess I need to get a UNC Boyfriend t-shirt. If that's what you want." You said. "I'll wear that t-shirt every single day." JJ said, walking towards you kissing you deeply.
You had imagined your first kiss with JJ many times and the real thing was so much better than you had thought.

“The greatest gift that you can give to others is the gift of unconditional love and acceptance” -Brian Tracy
I was eighteen when everything made sense for me.
I was on a school trip and I was going around town with my friends. The spring just hit the city and the petals fell from the trees onto the busy streets. Writing in my notebook about the different sights was hard to do because there was no surface to write neatly. How was my teacher expecting nice work? I just tried my best to write it as neatly as I could.
I saw a little shop that was selling little charms and I couldn’t stop myself. There was a cute cat that was holding a heart, they were all cute but one caught her eye. It was a hamster holding a heart that said LUCK in bold letters. She gently picked it up and the shopkeep smiled at me, “Interested?”
“Yes...how much?”
The older lady shook her head and took the charm, “No worries. It’s free for you.”
I was confused and tilted my head at her, “Free? Why-”
“It can give you luck in the future with your job, education, and more importantly love.”
“Love?”
The lady nodded her head and handed me a special red velvet bag with gold symbols, “Good luck.”
I waved goodbye to her and walked away with a little smile on my face. Love. I have always wanted love ever since my mom told me about her love story with my dad. It just sounded so perfect and beautiful. Who wouldn’t want to fall in love with their soulmate?
It was an empty street and it was pretty with the flowers covering the park cars. I put my hair in a low ponytail and continued to walk to the next place that was on the paper. I saw a light pink tissue on the street and I looked up to see an older woman with her bike. I picked up the tissue and ran towards her, “Excuse me, you dropped this.”
All of a sudden, she fell to the floor. I took off my sweater and placed it under her head. I looked around me and I saw an EpiPen. I picked it up and looked at her face to see it was swollen alongside her arm. She stared at the EpiPen and started to panic. She had never used an EpiPen, she’s only ever seen one on TV.
“Help!! Someone, help!!”
“What’s happening!?”
She looked up and saw an older man making his way to her. His eyes were kind and his smile made her feel okay. He kneeled next to her and pushed some hair behind the older lady, “It’s going to be okay. Seokjin! I need your help!”
She turned her head and her eyes widened when she saw a handsome man around her age. He glanced at her but didn’t say anything. She watched them help the lady but her eyes never left “Seokjin”. He was so handsome and he knew what he was doing. The older man turned to her and gave her a soft smile, “Call an ambulance okay. She’s going to be okay thanks to you.”
“Okay.”
I watched the older lady getting rolled behind the ambulance and I stared with nervousness. Just then I felt a hand on the top of my head and she looked up to see “Seokjin'' smiling at me, “You did great.”
“Th-Thank you...my name is L/N Y/N.”
He ruffled my hair and started to walk to the ambulance but he looked back at me, “My name is Seokjin. We’ll take her to the Map of Seoul Hospital where I’m a resident, she’s going to be okay.”
I nodded my head and watched him enter the ambulance with the older man. She continued to watch until the ambulance was out of her sight. I figured out what I wanted to do with my life and it was all thanks to Seokjin. I wanted to be a nurse to support Seokjin.
Y/N stared at the hospital with a smile on her face, it was actually happening. She spent five years working on becoming a nurse. The amount of tests she took and all the studying paid off for this moment. Her grip around her bag strap tightened and she nodded her head, “Let’s go..”
“Y/N!”
She turned around and she waved with excitement, “Kook!! Tae!!”
Jeon Jungkook and Kim Taehyung ran towards her with smiles on their faces. Jungkook and Taehyung are her closest friends from nursing school. They were her rock when things got hard and they supported her like how real brothers would. Jungkook and Taehyung were going to be a pediatric nurse while Y/N was going to become a cardiovascular nurse. There were only two people who wanted to be cardiovascular nurses in their nursing program, Y/N and an acquaintance named; Park Aria. Park Aria is an amazing student and she was always on top of her classes while Y/N was in the middle. Aria belonged in the medical field and it was clear.
“Are you ready?”
Y/N nodded her head as the three walked through the hospital doors, “I’ll try my best. We got this, right!?”
Jungkook nodded his head at her and looked at Taehyung, “I can’t wait to see the kids.”
Taehyung let out a small laugh and gently slapped Jungkook’s shoulder, “If you can handle blood.”
“Don’t tease him, blood is scary.”
Y/N went to change into her uniform and she stared at herself in the mirror. She wanted to cry but she already cried with her mom yesterday and she couldn’t ruin her uniform. She couldn’t let Seokjin see her tears. She smacked her cheeks gently and nodded her head, “Let’s do this.”
She walked towards the cardiology station and saw Aria there. She bit her lip and closed her eyes tightly. She was always awkward with Aria not because she didn’t like her but because Aria was always serious. She didn’t want her to be uncomfortable with her.
“Aria...good morning.”
Aria turned towards her and gave a small smile, “Good morning, Nurse L/N.”
Y/N’s face felt hot and she bowed her head, “So-Sorry, Nurse Park. Good morning, Nurse Park.”
Aria smiled at her and turned towards the staff. Y/N glanced at the staff and rushed to stand next to Aria. The staff smiled at them and bowed towards them, “Welcome to Cardiology. My name is Cho Chaewon and I’m the head nurse. I’m glad we have new faces.”
“I know the most here so any questions, ask me.”
Y/N turned her head to see a tan man with black glasses. He was chubby but it was like a teddy bear, he would give the best hugs, “My name is Min Minho.”
“My name is Lee Sonia.”
Aria bowed at the nurses and Y/N glanced at her. She bowed her head alongside Aria hoping she didn’t embarrass herself, “Thank you!”
When she stood back up, there were footsteps that echoed through the room. She turned her head and she saw Seokjin reading a paper on his clipboard. Everything around her went silent and she saw Seokjin. She saw him with a spotlight and his smile that she remembered. She clenched her chest gently as he left her sight. Minho glanced at her and smirked. He leaned towards Y/N, “Are you staring at the devil?”
“Eh? Devil?”
Sonia nodded her head with a frown, “He’s so handsome but he’s so ruthless.”
Y/N shook her head and glanced at Seokjin, “That can’t be...he was so nice to me that day.”
“WHAT!? Nice!?”
She jumped at the sudden yell and nodded her head at Minho, “Yeah...when I was eighteen I met him. He was kind to me.”
Minho shook his head with a chuckle, “Maybe you hit your head and assumed it was him being nice.”
Chaewon sighed and shook her head, “Now, Y/N and Aria...You guys will be heading to a lecture by the head doctor. After that, just make your way back to us and we’ll discuss teams.”
Going down the hallway felt surreal. Y/N overheard conversations that she read in her textbook, it was exciting. She continued to make her way but at the end of the hall, she saw Seokjin. He was talking to another doctor and she couldn’t help but smile. She made her way to him and watched the other doctor leave. This is my chance....
She stood in front of Seokjin and smiled at him, “Doctor Kim, I’m so excited to work with you. It’s nice to meet you again.”
The look he was giving, she couldn’t understand and she tilted her head, “Who are you?”
She blinked her eyes a couple of times and felt flustered, “I’m L/N Y/N...I met you five years ago and we helped save an older woman together....”
He raised her eyebrow and he continued to stare at her, “I have things to do...rookie, keep to yourself. No one likes to hear unwanted memories.”
Her mouth dropped and she stared at him with a shocked face, This can’t be the same person I fell in love with... “Huh?”
“Talking about the past or other stuff is a waste.”
She continued to stare at him with a shocked face and he looked back at her with an annoyed look, “Eh?”
“Get back to work, rookie.”
He walked away from her and she continued to stare at the absent spot. That can’t be him...he stole his identity. There’s no way that can-
“Y/N? Are you okay?”
She turned around and saw Jungkook looking at her with a concerned look. She pouted and shook her head, “I met an imposter.”
“What?”
“That can’t be Seokjin...The man I fell in love with. It’s the only logical reason.”
Jungkook nodded his head and let out a small laugh, “I’ll let you believe that.”
┊ ➶ 。˚ °┊
“Nurse L/N and Nurse Park, let me introduce you to the doctors of this unit.”
Y/N was still in a confused daze after her encounter with Seokjin. Even during the introduction in the main hall she wasn’t really listening. Five years later she wanted to meet him and have something blossom. Now the only thing that is blossoming is pure confusion and shock. Two feelings you don’t want to feel in a hospital.
“This is Doctor Jung.” Y/N turned to see a handsome tan man that had a heart smile. He looks very kind or he could be an imposter...
“This is the head doctor, Doctor Kim Hyeon, and his son Kim Seokjin.”
She quickly looked away when she saw those stern brown eyes, he looks like he hates me. After a minute, she looked back to see him staring at her still. She hated this feeling. She embarrassed herself in front of him and now she has to work with him. It was a headache but she wasn’t going to give up. She wouldn’t give up on him.
“Y/N-”
“Yes.”
Chaewon raised her eyebrow and let out a small laugh, “You don’t even know what I’m going to ask you.”
Y/N softly said sorry and bowed her head at the older woman. Embarrass myself again, come on Y/N.
“Y/N, you will be on Doctor Kim’s team.”
Y/N looked between the father and son duo. She was hoping it was with his father, it would be easier for her. “Which one?”
“Obviously mine. Stupid.”
Her eyes widened and looked at Seokjin who was shaking his head at her. She bit her lip and rubbed her arm gently, “Right…sorry.”
Doctor Hyeon laughed at this and shook his head, “Y/N, I appreciate your enthusiasm. It makes me happy to see the new generation excited to help.”
Y/N smiled at this and it was the first time today she felt truly happy, “Always excited to help, Doctor.”
She heard a scoff and glanced at Seokjin who was rolling his eyes. She didn’t let this get to her because she was telling the truth. She wanted to help everyone and make people’s lives easier. It was her duty as a nurse now.
Chaewon put the clipboard on her desk and she clapped her hands, “Okay, now let’s head towards our teams and help our patients.”
“Yes!”
Y/N was following Seokjin at a distance. Down the hall, everyone was glancing at him and she realized that everybody has a crush on him. He was handsome and he was the top doctor here, what’s not to like? He opened the door to the main doctor's office and she bowed to the other doctors before catching up with Seokjin. She quickly sat in the chair next to him as she continued to look over the clipboard as the sound of keys echoed through the empty room. She couldn’t look up from the gray board and the words before her gave her comfort (even if it was a diagnosis).
Seokjin sighed and turned towards her, “Shouldn’t you be assisting me and not just sitting there?”
She swallowed some spit and looked at him with nervous eyes, “Well, Doctor, you didn’t give me any assignment...”
“You’ve been reading the same paper for thirty minutes, shouldn’t you know what your assignment is?”
“Huh?” She glanced down at the paper and re-read it. Her eyes widened and realized that it was telling her about a patient. She looked up at Seokjin who was smirking at her with a raised eyebrow, “Well?”
She stood up from her seat and bowed at him, “I’ll be going.”
He watched her leave and he couldn’t help but let a small laugh escape. Hoseok glanced at him with curiosity and leaned towards him, “Did you just laugh?”
Seokjin turned towards him and rolled his eyes, “Do you have the report I needed this morning?”
“O-Oh, don’t change the subject.”
Y/N walked into the room and the frown she once had was replaced. She quickly made her way to Jungkook who was helping a little girl, “Kook~!”
Jungkook turned around and smiled at her, “Y/N, how was the rest of the morning?”
She frowned and shook her head, “I’m on his team...I’m happy but also sad.”
“Don’t let him bother you. Why are you here?”
“Ah.” She showed him the clipboard and then looked around the ward, “I’m looking for Seo Jimin.”
“Ah, Jimin. She’s sleeping right now. She just had her blood drawn.”
Y/N nodded her head and looked down at the little girl, “Hello, what’s your name?”
“Kimmy.”
“Pleasure to meet you Kimmy, I’m Nurse L/N.”
Kimmy tilted her head and pointed towards her, “Idiot.”
“Eh?” Kimmy started laughing and she ran from them leaving Y/N with a shocked face. She looked towards Jungkook and frowned, “Did I piss someone off? Why is everything going wrong today?”
Jungkook patted her back gently and offered her a gentle smile, “It’s okay Y/N. Things will get better.”
“Better my ass...”
“Don’t swear. Kids can hear.”
“Sorry...Can you show me Seo Jimin’s room?”
They walked down the hall and she smiled as the kids laughed through the empty halls. It was different from the cardio halls. In those halls, it felt like she had to be serious and she saw Taehyung talking to a nurse with a clipboard. He looked like he had been doing this for years. She smiled at this and continued to follow Jungkook.
“This is Seo Jimin’s room.”
Y/N nodded her head and peeked her head through the curtains to see the eleven-year-old she read about. Jimin looked up and gave her a small wave, “Are you my new nurse?”
“Kind of, my name is Y/N. I’m from Doctor Kim’s office.”
“Jinnie? He’s the greatest, isn’t he?”
Y/N let out a small laugh and nodded her head I thought he was, “He is. You're my first patient.”
“What kind of tests are you doing for me?”
Y/N sat on the bed gently and shook her head, “I’m here to meet you.” She looked around and saw hamster stickers on her wall with a familiar K-pop group, “You like Red Velvet?”
Jimin's grin widened and nodded her head, “I love Yeri but Wendy is my bias.”
“Ah, good choice. Is that why you have the hamsters?”
“It makes me think of my room at home. It makes me smile.”
Y/N smiled at this and nodded her head, “Music is the greatest pleasure one can have. It makes you feel happy with a simple note. It’s amazing.”
“Y/N, I hope I get to see you more. I don’t get to talk about my music.”
“You can always talk to me. We can talk about Red Velvet, every minute of the day.”
Jimin laughed and looked at Jungkook, “Do you like Red Velvet?”
“I’ve heard of them.”
Jimin pouted and leaned towards Y/N, “He’s boring. I like you.”
At least you like me, “I like you too.” Y/N glanced down at her watch and then back at Jimin with a frown, “I have to go but don’t be afraid to push the button or call for Mr. Boring.”
“I can still hear you.”
“Okay Nurse Y/N.”
Y/N and Jungkook walked outside and walked towards the front desk of the pediatrician department.  She sighed and glanced at Jungkook, “She had purplish lips...I read that she’s been having shortness of breath more frequently. Any news on that?”
“Doctor Yu says that they're waiting for a test result to see her oxygen levels...if it’s good then she can be discharged with medication but they don't think that's going to happen.”
“I saw her calendar...she has Friday circled for her discharge. I hope everything turns out for her.”
Y/N was making her way back to the Seokjin’s office but was stopped. She looked up to see Doctor Jung giving her a friendly smile, “Are you the one who is trying to defeat the devil?”
She tilted her head and she was confused, “Devil?”
“Yeah, Jin.”
“O-Oh, Doctor Seokjin...wait-defeat?”
Hoseok let out a laugh and nodded his head, “I think you're the one that can defeat him and I'll help you.”
“I-I don’t want to defeat anyone!?”
“I’ll help you with him. I’ve known him since we were kids, I’ll get him to like you back.”
Y/N’s eyes widened and she looked around her frantically, “Don’t say that so loud...wait you’ll help me? Why?”
Hoseok leaned forward with their foreheads almost touching. This caused Y/N to be stiff at the sudden action, “I want to see him happy. Let’s defeat the devil.”
Y/N smiled at this and nodded her head, “O-Okay.~”
Hoseok looked around and glanced at the vending machine, “You want a protein bar?”
“Oh, that sounds good. Is it chocolate?”
“I think so, let’s go see together.”
“Okay.”
There was a pair of annoyed eyes on her back and maybe if she saw the eyes, she would melt under the brown irises.
“Nurse Y/N?”
“Mmm?”
Y/N was drawing Jimin’s blood as she was making her usual rounds, “Do you think I’ll be able to leave this week?”
Y/N's brain stopped working for a second and she swallowed her spit. She glanced at Jimin and gave her a gentle smile, “Hopefully. Medicine will always be there for you, no matter what.”
“I want to see my council friends.”
Y/N brought the needle to the vial and smiled at Jimin, “You're on the council?”
“Yeah, I’m the student body president.”
“Wow, that’s amazing. That means you can handle responsibility.”
Jimin nodded her head and just then the curtains were pushed to see a group of younger kids. They all looked at Jimin with a star in their eyes and Y/N couldn’t help but feel her heart swelled. “Unnie! Can you read this for me?”
Jimin smiled and looked at Y/N, “They always come with the new books.”
Y/N glances at the book and smiles, “Reading about Spider-man. He really is amazing, right?”
“Yeah!”
Taehyung entered the room and waved at Y/N, “Yo.”
“Hey, you. How’s everything?”
Taehyung shrugged his shoulders and frowned at her, “I haven’t seen you much. I missed you.”
Y/N rolled her eyes and let out a laugh. She stood up from her chair and picked up a little girl to sit next to Jimin. She rubbed the top of her head and walked towards Taehyung, “You never texted me back.”
“Y/N, you know I don’t have my phone.”
“But you have a laptop.”
“Be nice to me. I’ll make it up by buying you lunch.”
Y/N pursed her lips together and nodded her head, “I want crab.”
“Eh? It’s not in season though?”
“Then I guess you don’t want to make it up with me...”
Taehyung pouted and nodded his head, “Fine.”
“Nurse L/N is this what you do when I ask you to make your rounds?”
Y/N stiffened and looked behind Taehyung to see Seokjin glaring at her making her feel small. She bowed to him and as soon as she did, her papers slipped out of the folder and onto the ground. She closed her eyes and she already knew he was going to get mad at her. She slowly looked up and gave him a small smile, “Sorry...”
“Are you just going to look at me or pick up the papers?”
She nodded her head and picked up the papers in a rush. She pushed some hair back and handed him the folder, “This is the vitals for Choi Nari in room 782.”
“It’s room 781.”
She glanced down at her paper and then back at him with a sheepish smile, “Room 781...I just took Seo Jimin’s vitals.”
“Good job, you can draw blood. At least you can do that right.”
Seokjin walked past her and she frowned at this, so I messed up again. Taehyung shook his head and looked at Y/N with a disapproving look, “Out of all the men, you like him.”
She glared at Taehyung and then watched Seokjin talk to Jimin with the same softness he did when she was younger, “I like him because...because he’s the same person that was kind to me on that fateful day.”
“Idiot.”
“I heard you.”
“Nurse L/N are you going to help me or just keep talking?”
She bowed at Seokjin and then stuck her tongue at Taehyung, “Coming!”
Taehyung watched with a small smile on his face, “Idiot...

Hoseok pointed at the cafe and smiled at Y/N, “Every morning, Jin gets a mocha with a chocolate croissant.”
Y/N glances at the cafe in the entrance of the hospital and then back at him with a shocked look, “He likes sweets?”
Hoseok laughed while nodding his head, “Shocking?”
“He’s the opposite of sweet...salty...no maybe sour.”
“But today is Friday. He gets a white chocolate croissant.”
“Wow, he has a strong sweet tooth.”
Hoseok and Y/N enter the cafe and the smell of coffee hits her nose. She scrunched her nose at the smell because she wasn’t the biggest fan of coffee but then the smell of fresh pastry came. She smiled and looked into the small window, “They have fresh muffins... oh, they have strawberries!?”
Hoseok laughed, “The strawberries are really good.”
“Doctor Jung?”
Y/N turned around and saw Aria looking at her with a frown. Y/N waved at her but when it wasn’t returned she slowly put her hand down. Y/N bowed at her and offered an awkward smile, “Good morning Aria.”
“Good morning Nurse L/N. Doctor Jung, are you just coming in?”
Hoseok turned towards her and nodded his head, “Yeah, would you like a coffee?”
Aria let a smile appear and she shook her head, “You don’t have to...I appreciate it though.”
“You should let me treat you after yesterday. You were the only one that caught her block artery.”
“I had you to help me...I should be saying thank you, Doctor Jung.”
“Give yourself credit.”
Y/N glanced between the two and she heard wedding bells. She smiled and looked at Hoseok, “Aria is amazing. She was always on top of the classes.”
Hoseok smiled at this and nodded his head, “I can see that. You're talented. I’m glad you're on my team.”
“Doctor Jung...”
Y/N looked past Aria and she rushed to the entrance, “Good morning Doctor Kim.”
Seokjin rolled his eyes and moved past her, “You're blocking the entrance.”
Y/N moved away and bit her lip, “Sorry...”
“Ah, Jin.”
Seokjin looked up and saw Hoseok with a smile on his face, “What?”
“I was ordering Y/N a muffin. Would you like a coffee?”
Seokjin glanced at Y/N and was already looking at him with a smile, “Muffin?”
“What was that?”
Seokjin let out a small cough and shook his head, “I said nothing. I want nothing.”
Seokjin went to the cashier and ordered his usual but he glanced at the strawberry muffin. He looked over his shoulder to see Y/N talking to Hoseok with a wide smile on her face. He looked back at the cashier and nodded his head, “The muffin too, please.”
“I had to give her a quick stitch with Doctor Yu.”
“Y/N, you learn on the fly. Good work.”
“Thank you, Doctor Jung.” Just then a brown paper hit her face and she let out a small hmph. She looked to the side and saw Seokjin holding the said bag that hit her, “Eh?”
“It's a muffin. Take it.”
She looked at the bag and then at him with a wide smile, “You bought me a muffin? Is this going to be our thing on Fridays?”
Seokjin rolled his eyes and looked at Hoseok, “Don’t you have a meeting with my dad?”
Hoseok glanced at his watch and cussed under his breath, “I’ll see you later Y/N.”
“Bye Doctor Jung.”
Y/N took the bag and looked at him with curious eyes, “What flavor?”
“Strawberry.”
“Really? I wanted to try these. Thank you, Doctor Kim.”
“Hurry up and eat that so we can get to work. No slacking today.”
“Yes, Doctor.”
“Don’t salute.”
Doctor Yu frowned and looked at Y/N, “Sadly Seo Jimin won’t be discharged.”
Y/N looked at her and then back at the papers, “Her oxygen levels...you don’t mean...”
“Yes, a heart transplant.”
Y/N stood in the office and glanced at Seokjin with a frown, “Isn’t she young for this?”
“Nurse L/N, if someone needs treatment then they need it.”
Y/N nodded her head and looked down at her shoes. She felt stupid for saying that and she got scolded again. How many times will she get scolded by Seokjin?
Hyeon looked at his son, “Now Jin. Behave. It was a good question. Y/N always asks good questions regarding patients.”
Y/N looked up and smiled at his father, “Doctor Kim...”
Seokjin rolled his eyes and glanced at his dad, “I’ll be going. I have to talk to Jimin’s mother.”
Y/N watched him walk out and frowned, “Mean.”
Hyeon let out a laugh and stood up from his desk, “Don’t worry about him.”
“Doctor Kim?”
“You're doing great. He’s harsher on you because he sees potential in you.”
Her eyes widened and it looked like she had stars in her eyes, “Really!? You think so!?”
Hyeon nodded his head and crossed his arms over his chest, “I know so.”
“All you do is talk, hurry up.”
Y/N turned around to see Seokjin standing there with an annoyed face. She bowed at him and nodded his head, “Sorry. I’m coming.”  She turned towards Hyeon and bowed, “Bye Doctor Kim.”
Hyeon let out a small laugh, “Bye, Y/N.”
Hyeon watched them leave with a smile on his face. He glanced down at the picture of his wife and smiled, “I think she's good for him. What do you think, Yuri?”
Y/N followed Seokjin but she was looking down at her shoes. She felt like if she looked at his back then he would grow arms from his back and attack her. She was so focused on her white shoes that she walked into his back when he stopped. She looked up to be met with his disapproving look, “Sorry...”
Seokjin didn’t say anything but it quickly changed when he saw Jimin’s mom, “Mrs. Seo, thank you for coming by.”
Mrs. Seo gave him a smile and nodded her head, “I’ll do anything for Jimin. Will she be able to leave today?”
Seokjin frowned and shook his head, “That’s what I need to talk to you about. Let’s go talk in the hallway.”
Y/N bowed at Mrs. Seo and she glanced at Jimin who was soundly asleep. She smiled at this and took out a small plushie from her pocket. She placed the hamster right to her and she smiled when she saw her hug it.
“She’s been sleeping for almost the whole day.”
She turned around and saw Taehyung with a frown, “I heard....”
“She’s not getting discharged is she?”
Y/N shook her head and looked at Taehyung, “How was your day?”
“Jungkook forgot his lunch so I shared mine. I’m hungry.”
Y/N let out a small laugh, “You're always saving him.”
“I can save you but you won’t let me.”
Y/N glanced at Jimin and shrugged her shoulders, “I can take care of myself.”
“You would let Jim take care of you.”
She frowned at his tone and looked at him, “You always bring him up.”
“Because it's the truth. This weekend we're going to the crab place?”
“If that’s okay with you?”
“It's perfect for me.”
“Nurse Kim, Nurse L/N, let’s leave Jimin’s room. She needs rest.”
Y/N glances over Taehyung’s shoulder to see Seokjin glaring but not her. She followed his eyes to see him glaring at Taehyung. She frowned at this but didn’t say anything. She bowed at Taehyung and made her way to Seokjin, “Sorry Doctor Kim. I was checking her vitals.”
“Good. We need to check on Sakura in room 342. Tell me her condition.”
“Right.” She turned around and waved goodbye to Taehyung, “I’ll see you this weekend.”
“Nurse L/N, hurry up.”
“Sorry, coming!”
The walk to Sakura’s room was quiet and Y/N kept glancing at her shoes and his Seokjin’s back. Seokjin’s shoulders were so broad and she wondered what it would look like underneath or what he would look like with just his doctor's coat. Her mind started to wonder and she couldn’t help but smile.
“Y/N, would you like to treat me?”
“Nurse L/N, did you hear me?”
She shook her head and looked at him, “Eh?”
He sighed and looked at the paper, “Sakura is twenty-six, she’s been having breathing problems. Her heart rate has been slower than usual. We need to do an echo.”
Y/N nodded her head, “Echo?”
“Have you seen one?”
Y/N shook her head and he sighed, “Then I’ll show you.”
Being this close to Seokjin was a dream. He was showing her Sakura’s heart but the only thing she saw was hearts in her eyes. The way his hair fell to his forehead and his gentle voice when he talked to patients made everything lighter. It felt like clouds were around her and Cupid was shooting her heart.
“Okay Sakura, we’re done. We will tell you the results when we get them.”
“Thank you, Doctor Kim.”
The two walked out and Seokjin crossed his arms over his chest, “What were we looking at in the echo?”
Y/N stared at Seokjin and bit her lip, “The chambers...”
“And why is that?”
“To see fluid...”
Seokjin sighed and shook his head, “Can you be more confident Y/N?”
Her eyes widened and she looked at him with a smile, “You said Y/N?”
“Focus.”
“Can I call you Jin?”
“Focus.”
Y/N was at her desk when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked up and smiled, “Doctor Jung.”
“How's the devil?”
“Still the devil but he called me by name. I hope I can hear it one more time.”
Hoseok laughed and nodded his head, “You're going somewhere with him.”
“You think so?”
“Definitely. I was going to ask about Seo Jimin's vitals from earlier.”
Y/N nodded her head and started going through her papers. She started telling Hoseok but she was unaware of the familiar brown eyes on her. He looked between them and he couldn’t help but glare at Hoseok. He shook his head and made his way down the hall away from the scene.
“I was actually going to check on her...this isn’t easy. She was so excited to be discharged.”
Hoseok checked his watch and sighed, “It’s late. She should be sleeping but by all means you can pop in. It doesn’t hurt to check.”
“Thank you, Doctor.”
Walking in the halls when it's night felt weird. There were fewer people which means it's quiet. The only sounds you can hear are the shoes on the tiles and the small conversations between the staff. Y/N walked down the hallway and when she was about to open Jimin's door, she noticed it was open. Her eyes widened and opened the door quietly. She took her phone out and shined the light to see Jimin’s bed empty, “Shit.”
Y/N ran out of the room but she bumped into someone, “I’m so sorry-”
“Y/N?”
She looked up and felt relieved, “Jungkook, you're just the person I needed. Seo Jimin is missing from her bed.”
The nurses were running around the hospital including Y/N. She was in the stairwell that led up to the roof and her eyes widened when she saw the familiar hamster stickers on the floor. She ran to the roof and slammed open the door. She saw Jimin crying on a bench with her knees to her chest. Y/N frowned and slowly walked to her, “Jimin...”
“Leave me alone.”
Y/N sat next to her and wrapped her arm over her shoulders, “Never...You're upset about the discharge, aren’t you?”
“I thought I was getting better. I was doing everything right but my body...it wouldn’t let me.”
Y/N frowned at this and gently rubbed her arm, “The body is stubborn sometimes. It matches our spirits. Remember, there's no rush in getting better. Take your time so you can be strong.”
Jimin glanced at Y/N with a frown and red eyes, “I don’t want to be broken anymore.”
“You're not broken. Don’t ever say that. You have so much love that your heart just couldn’t take it. Keep that love and positivity. I know it's hard but it will get through so much and it will get better.”
“Will you be with me?”
“Of course I will.” Y/N let her go and took off her cardigan to place over Jimin’s shoulder. She pushed some hair off of the younger girl’s forehead, “I’ll be with you okay. Every step.”
“I’m sorry I ran away...”
Y/N shook her head and looked up at the sky, “I get it. I would run away too. Look at all the stars shining.”
“I like the stars.”
“It’s pretty like you. Let’s get you back in bed before it becomes freezing.”
The two slowly walked down the stairs but they stopped when Seokjin and Taehyung came their way.
“Jimin!”
Jimin smiled at Taehyung and waved at him, “Tae, I’m sorry I ran away...I just needed a moment.”
Taehyung sighed and went to her level, “I’m just glad you're okay.”
Seokjin glanced at Y/N and noticed the goosebumps. He slipped off his jacket and draped it around her shoulders. Her face was in pure shock but he avoided her eyes, “You can’t get sick.”
He walked away as she stared at his back. She smiled to herself and brought his coat closer to her, “It smells so good.”
“Creep.”
“Shut up.”
When she was walking out of the hospital, her eyes landed on Seokjin who was waiting. She flattened out her clothes and walked towards him, “Goodnight Doctor Kim.”
“Wait.”
She stopped in her tracks and slowly turned around to look at him, “Yes?”
“You're always ready to help. No matter what it is.”
“Doctor-”
“Just like that day. You rushed to help that older woman and you didn’t even question it. You're meant to help people.”
Y/N felt the heat rush to her face as she stared at him with a smile, “Seokjin...”
“You're meant to help people, even if you're annoying.” He walked away and Y/N was left alone standing in the middle of the entrance. She raised her hands to the sky like in a victory pose, “HE REMEMBERS ME!”
 ┊ ➶ 。˚ °┊
It’s been three months since Y/N entered the hospital and it felt like a dream. Well, not a dream because of the sick patients but a dream because of Seokjin. Since that night, it felt like they were closer. He only insulted her three times a day instead of ten, that’s huge. Hoseok has been getting her muffins every Friday but then on Saturday Seokjin buys her tea and a breakfast sandwich. She was confused because she didn’t remember telling him her favorite tea or breakfast sandwich but she wasn’t going to fight him. It was a sign that he paid attention to her or someone told him. She wants it to be the latter.
“You want me to be your date for your brother's wedding?”
Taehyung nodded his head and took a sip of his tea, “Yeah, sorry.”
“Why didn’t you tell me before?”
“I honestly didn’t think I needed one but my mom was pressuring me.”
Y/N sighed and leaned back in her chair, “I’ll do it but I want lobster.”
“You and your seafood. Fine.”
Y/N glanced at the exit and saw Seokjin leaving. Y/N stood up from the chair and downed her tea, “I’ll see you later.”
“Y-”
Taehyung watched her leave the lunch court and he frowned at himself. He looked down at his tea and shook his head, “Always the second choice.”
Y/N ran towards Seokjin and smiled, “Doctor Kim!”
Seokjin turned around and sent a glare her way, “Why are you following me?”
Y/N looked around and then gave him a confused look, “I always work with you...it’s been like that for three months.”
“Let’s go before I change my mind.”
Seokjin walked away and she pouted, “Why is he being mean?” She shrugged her shoulders and followed him to his office. She waved at Hyeon who waved back and she sat next to him. She started to go through the paperwork with him (strutting here and there). Hyeon watched from his desk and smiled to himself. He could tell from his son’s eyes that he was happy but he wanted him to figure it out. He just wished it was faster.
“Nurse L/N, did you check on Lee Sam in room 109?”
She flipped the papers through her clipboard and shook her head, “No...it says he’s under Hoseok.”
“You're going to work with Hoseok today.”
She raised her eyebrow and looked at him with a confused look, “Why? I like working with you...we work well together.” I also want to look at your face.
“I’m going to be in the office all day. You need more training.”
“I can train with you. I don’t mind.”
“Also, Nurse Kim...Make sure you do your work. Don’t talk to him that much.”
Y/N furrowed her eyebrows and slowly nodded her head, “Okay? I’ll be going...bye?”
She left the office and Jin sighed to himself, “Dad the more you stare, the more annoying it gets.”
“I can’t help it. My son is jealous, it's a sight I neve thought I would see.”
“Shut up old man.”
Hoseok handed Y/N her clipboard and let out a laugh, “You really have no idea why Jin sent you to me?”
Y/N shook her head and closed the curtains, “He said it's because I need more training. What other reason would it be?”
Hoseok sighed and shook his head, “You're so smart but also so stupid.”
“Eh! What did I do!?”
That night, Y/N was walking down to her favorite ramen restaurant and she was shocked to see him sitting in the middle. She pushed some hair back and sat next to him, “How was the office work?”
Seokjin put down his chopsticks and shrugged his shoulders, “It was office work.”
She nodded her head and glanced down at his bowl, “You just eat the noodles and juice?”
“Yeah, why?”
“You need the toppings. They have the best fried shrimp, it tastes so good with the broth.” Seokjin turned towards her and she was caught off guard with his look, “Is everything okay?”
“You can stare at me all the time but I can’t do the same?”
“Eh? I don’t stare...I admire...that isn’t any better...”
He let out a small laugh and turned back to his ramen, “Order something. I’ll pay for it.”
She gasped and put her hands over her mouth, “Like a date?”
“It’s whatever you want it to be.”
She choked on her spit and he turned towards her, “Do I have to do mouth to mouth?”
Y/N choked again but this time she met with his smirk. That dinner was the best dinner Y/N ever had and it was because she felt seen by him for once. She wasn’t the clumsy nurse that always stuttered. She was her true self with him tonight. And she got fried shrimp.

“Tae, this wedding is so long.”
“Y/N, it’s a wedding.”
“So...”
She sat next to him at the reception and of course, she knew no one. The wedding was cute with the bride's dress being beaded from top to bottom. Sometimes she forgets Taehyung’s family was rich. She glanced down at her chicken and ate a piece as Taehyng talked to his uncle. She looked up to take a sip of her champagne but choked when she saw Seokjin casually talking to the bride. She turned towards Taehyung and slapped his arm, “What the fuck?”
“Ow, what?”
She pointed towards Seokjin and then looked at Taehyung, “Why is he here?”
Taehyung followed her finger and raised his eyebrow, “What a small world?”
She wiped her mouth and stood up, “I have to talk to him.”
“You don’t have to. You want to, there’s a difference”
“No, I have to talk to him because I’m in this pretty dress and I have make-up on. He’s never seen that before.”
“Go for it, I can’t stop you anyways.”
She nodded her head and she rushed towards him leaving Taehyung behind. He sighed to himself and took a sip of his whiskey, “I shouldn’t be shocked but...here I am.”
Y/N pushed her hair and felt the confidence coming from within, this was her moment, “Seokjin?”
Seokjin stopped talking to the bride and turned towards her, “Ah, Y/N. I wasn’t expecting you here.”
“Eh? I told you tho-”
“I wasn’t expecting you.”
She slowly nodded her head and she turned towards the bride, “I’m going to borrow him real quick.”
Y/N took his wrist and headed out of the ballroom with butterflies in her stomach. When they were in a secluded area she let go of his wrist and leaned against the wall with a nervous look. He looked at her with a raised eyebrow and loosened up his tie, “Is everything okay?”
“No...I can’t hold it back anymore.”
“Mmm?”
“Kim Seokjin, I like you.”
“I know.”
Y/N stared at him and mouth dropped, “What?”
Seokjin leaned forward and pinned her against the wall with a smirk, “I know you like me.”
“How?”
He gave her a “Are you serious look?” but quickly wiped it off, “I know.”
“And you didn’t say anything? Why?”
He leaned forward and placed a quick kiss on her lips making her eyes wide. When he leaned away he placed his forehead against hers, “I was waiting for the right moment.”
“Ri-Right moment? Was this the right moment? I thought the right moment was-”
“Y/N, I liked you the moment we met. When we saved our first patient together.”
“Really?”
Seokjin let out a small laugh and leaned forward placing a kiss on her nose, “I loved you for all this time. Every day you give me a reason to be my best self. I want to be a better doctor because of you. You always want to help and solve everything, how could I not love you?”
“Yo-You love me?”
“I do, I really do.”
“Holy shit.”
He leaned away and smiled, “Well, do you-”
“I love you...sorry, you didn’t finish your sentence.”
“I have a room in this hotel...do you want to go up?”
“Yeah....Yeah, I do.”
There were moments when Y/N couldn’t believe stuff. Like when she was five, she couldn’t believe that she saw a double rainbow. At this moment, she couldn’t believe she was going to Seokjin’s hotel room. The man that she’s been in love with since she was eighteen, loves her. He loves her like the way she loves him. What more can she want?
When the door closed, she stared at him with wide doe eyes that made Seokjin want to die. He walked towards her and gently touched her cheek with his thumb, “I love you...I wish I was more romantic but I would go to the ends of the earth to show you. Roses can’t even express how I love you but they can try. Y/N, you are my person. I love everything about you...even when you ramble.”
She felt tears well up in her eyes as she looked at him, “I wish I had that on my phone...it would be your new ringtone.”
He laughed and leaned forward without their lips, “No need for that, I’ll tell you every day for the rest of your life.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
The light of the hotel room illuminated their faces perfectly. The space between them was enough to create a silhouette. They leaned forward and her eyes gave him the answer he needed. Their lips gently touched, making them one under the light. Her arms slowly moved up and wrapped around his neck as he went around her waist. There was no space, no light was going to escape between them on this night.
“Ji-Jin!” She gasped as Jin inserted a second finger inside, pumping it as fast as he could. She bit her lip harshly trying not to bother the poor people next door, “You don’t have to be quiet.”
“Jin, there are people-”
“I rented out the rooms around me so I don’t have to deal with loudness.”
“Wow, that was really hot to hear actually.”
His fingers curled inside of her and it was gently touching her most sensitive spot that made her buck her hips. He pressed his palm to her clit as his fingers continued to move in her, “So good for me.”
“On-Only for you.”
After the intense orgasm, she glanced at him with a needy look, “Do you have a condom?”
“Of course I do.”
“Take off the rest of your clothes. It's not fair I’m naked and you're not.”
“Your wish is my command.”
When Jin comes back, the kiss turns from innocent with pure love to sloppy and needy. He gently pushes her up to have her lay on the pillows as he kisses down her neck. He placed a kiss on top of her breast and looked up, “I would eat you out but I can’t wait any longer. Next time I’ll do it.”
“Ne-Next time?”
“Of course, there will be next time. This pussy will only crave for me after I’m done.”
He rolled the condom onto his dick and looked up at her with a smile. She returned the smile and nodded her head, “I trust you.”
He kissed her neck and with a needy moan, she arched her back pressing her body closer to his. She could feel the heat from him and it was only turning her on more. Seokjin positions himself between her legs, his tip teasing her entrance. The waiting was killing her and she kept looking at him with pleading eyes. He begins to enter but once he is halfway, he pulls out causing her to moan out. He smirked at the reaction and stuck himself back in but fully this time.
He let out a groan as he looked at her face, “I love you.”
“I-I love you more.”
With each thrust, the love that they were both holding back was flooding up the room. The sounds of moans and wet slaps of their bodies coming together echoed. His movements became more urgent with each passing second, “You’re so...fuck... perfect.”
Her cheeks flushed from all the love confession but she couldn’t help but feel so blessed in this moment. He gently pushed the hair out of her face as she brought her thumb over his lips, a gentle touch to tell him what her heart wanted to say. His cock continued to pound into her g-spot and each thrust was sending her pure pleasure through her body.
“Let go, baby.”
She leaned forward placing a kiss on his lips when she felt the intensity coming over her. When she leaned away she felt like there was no air left in her body. Her body felt numb against his but she didn’t want this to end anytime soon. His voice was strained with the pleasure he was feeling, the clenching sensation was making him stutter.
“Cumming.”
She clenched her pussy around him harder and this was his breaking point. She was overwhelmed by the intensity of the pleasure as his head fell into her chest. The gasping of air filled the room as they stayed still in this moment. He slowly looked up and kissed her forehead with a soft smile, “My cure...”

POSTED ON FINN'S PRIVATE TIKTOK ACCOUNT, THE DEEPDIVE MEMBERS MAKE A CANDY SALAD WHILE TRAUMA DUMPING.
˗ ˋ 🌊 CONTENT WARNING ﹕ based off the tiktok trend where people trauma dump while making a candy salad, duh. so, trauma dumping but everything mentioned is not in detail! mentions of abusive parents, homophobia, fat shaming, drug addiction, grooming, sexual abuse, cps, suicide, and death. again, none are in graphic detail and are portrayed in a slightly comedic light. here's dowon's introduction piece, just pretend he's been here the whole time instead of jacob lol!
Jisung is illuminated by an iPhone's camera flash, blinking at the camera as he proudly holds up a bag of peach rings. He looks beyond the camera for his sign to start speaking before looking back at the lens, smiling professionally.
"Hi, my name is Jisung, and when I was 5 years old, my mom decided to take my dad to court for child support, and he got really mad and ordered a hit out on her," Jisung shares with a nod, trying to fight back laughter as he lifts the bag of candy. "And I brought peach rings." He announces as he dumps the bag into the large plastic bowl in front of him.
Dawning a blue hoodie and tousled blond hair, Finn smiles politely at the camera.
"Hey, I'm Finn, and I became addicted to drugs when I was seventeen, so now I have these massive gaps in my memories where I have no idea what happened, but I know it wasn't good," he says with ease, dumping the bag of green gummies into the bowl with a thud.
Kiwoo poses naturally when the camera is on him, holding his bag of M&Ms off to the side of him like he's a game show host.
"Hi, my name is Kiwoo, and when I was 18, my sister killed herself when our parents were out of the country, so I had to be the one to identify her decaying body. I brought M&Ms." He gives a peace sign before dumping the bag of M&Ms into the bowl with a dull clatter.
Noah can't bite back his laughter when the camera is on him, curling his lips in before waving shortly to the camera.
"Hey, I'm Noah. When I was 16, my mom died in the hospital, and when we were doing her honor walk, my dad leaned over to me and whispered, "This is all your fault." and then acted like nothing happened." Noah nods at the camera as his lips form a line before looking at the bag of candy in his hand. "I brought Nerds Gummy Clusters!" He cheers with a forced smile, dumping the candy into the bowl.
Woojin snorts when the camera is on him, tucking his long black hair behind his ear. "Hi, I'm Woojin, and when I was being sexually abused by our manager, I told our CEO in hopes of getting her fired, but, um, I got fired instead! Um," He looks at the bag in his hand, chuckling softly. "I brought blue raspberry gummy straws." the straws land with a dull thud in the bowl when he dumps them out.
Blue blinks at the camera before looking off at the murmuring off-screen, laughing at something Finn said before lifting up his small bag of Sourpatch Kids. "My name is Blue, and when I was 6, my dad threw a vase at my head because he thought I was gay," Blue laughs when the words leave his mouth, the rest of the room laughing with him as he lifts the bag up victoriously. "I brought Sourpatch Kids Watermelons!" He cheers, dumping them in the bowl.
Dowon pushes his hair back with one hand before waving to the camera, unenthused by this group activity suggested by Finn. "I'm Dowon, I'm the leader of DeepDive, and when I was 18, I had a really toxic girlfriend who always argued with me over anything and threatened to kill herself when I tried to break up with her. So, one day, we were arguing over the color of my shirt, and she said she was going to kill herself for the 2000th time, and I said, "Then do it," and she actually attempted to do so in my room," He tells the camera like he's talking to a news reporter before looking at the candy bag in his hand, smiling dumbly. "I brought gummy bears." He simply pours them into the bowl.
Jisung is laughing when the camera is back on him, clearing his throat before waving to the camera.
"Hey, it's me Jisung again, and when I was, like, ten? I met my dad for the first time because he was trying to sue my mom for defamation, and the first time he saw me-" Jisung can't stop himself from laughing, causing the others in the room to laugh as well; he covers his mouth before clearing his throat again to collect himself. "When he saw me for the first time, he made the most disgusted face ever and said "I can't believe I helped create something like you." and proceeded to call me a bastard for the rest of the trial." His voice is tight from trying not to laugh before he lifts the bag of candy. "I brought blue gummy sharks." When he dumps the gummy sharks out, they land in the bowl, all clustered together with a dull thud.
Finn is already laughing when the camera is on him, looking off at someone and laughing harder before he looks back at the camera. "I'm Finn, and when I was eighteen, I had a much older girlfriend who got me addicted to coke, like cocaine, the drug, and one night when we were getting high, I was talking to her, and she was really quiet for a long time so when I looked over I realized she had overdosed and died." Finn makes a face that reads, "What can you do?" before shrugging and holding up his bag of candy. "I brought pink starburst." he dumps the wrapped candy into the bowl, shaking the bag slightly.
Kiwoo sighs at the camera before looking off at Finn. "How the hell am I supposed to follow that?" The room laughs at the other's lament, causing Kiwoo to smile softly before the camera cuts to him sitting up straight and looking at the camera.
"My name is Kiwoo, and when I came out to my parents, my dad said," Kiwoo can't stop himself from laughing, covering his mouth with the back of his hand. "My dad said, "We already knew that." and went back to eating dinner like nothing happened. I brought KitKats." He turned the bag upside down, dumping the candy into the almost-full bowl.
Noah points to the bag of sour gummy worms in his hand, nodding. "I'm Noah. Hey. And for the past seven years, I've been in a relationship with our former manager, who is much older than me and started dating me when I was, like, sixteen, and she would get really mad at me when I would talk to girls my age. So, now, even though we don't see each other anymore, whenever I talk to a girl my age I get hit with an impending sense of dread and paranoia. I brought the sour gummy worms."
Blue smiles stiffly at the camera when it's on him, looking off to the side and realizing he has to follow that up. He sucks air through his teeth.
"I'm Blue, and when I was ten, my dad came back from a business trip and started yelling at my mom that she had gotten fat and then grabbed her face and started shaking her. So, I shoved him really hard, and he fell over and broke his arm because he was an old man. Then he threatened to sue me. Again, I was ten." Blue looks at the bag in his hand before raising it like he was cheers'ing at a bar. "I brought Skittles." When he dumps the bag of Skittles in the bowl, they scatter around the candy with a clatter.
"Hi, I'm Woojin," Woojin says, wasting no time when the camera is on him again, "When I was seven, I lived in America with my mom, and we lived in a motel because we were poor and one day, CPS came and took me away, but they promised I would see my mom again and foster care was only temporary, but now I'm twenty-three and I haven't seen my mom since," Woojin blinks at the camera, chuckling softly before giving a finger heart, causing someone to cackle off-screen. "Love you, mom. I brought strawberry cloud gummies." He laughs as he dumps the bag of pink candy into the bowl.
Dowon sighed when the camera was on him again, tilting his head at it as the others laughed around him, making him break into a smile. He shrugs his broad shoulders.
"What's up, guys. I'm Dowon, and my mom? She was an alcoholic who only started talking to me again once I got rich and famous. I don't remember anything from my childhood thanks to her." He snaps at the camera like he just said something cool and not traumatic before pointing to the bag in his hand. "I'm topping this all off with some chocolate-covered pretzels." Dowon unceremoniously dumps the chocolate-covered pretzels into the filled bowl, laughing under his breath.
It cuts to a shot of Woojin shaking the bowl of candy up with intense concentration, brows knit, and lips pressed into a line as Finn works at stirring it with a plastic fork. The camera work is similar to being in a club, moving close in on the boys, then bouncing away, disorienting at best and nauseating at worst.
The last shot of the video shows Finn proudly showing the camera the candy salad, holding the bowl like a newborn infant instead of a bowl of candy. "All our trauma is in here," Finn jokes, motioning around the candy with his finger.
"That's not even all of it," Blue jokes off-screen, obviously chewing on a gummy bear. "We'd need a much bigger bowl for all that."

Whatever this is, it had been building and bubbling and rising since eleventh grade. That’s when you set down on this path. When your friend introduced you to her friend, who in turn introduced you to all of his friends. He had seemed kind enough, with sparkly doe eyes that caught the sunlight in enchanting ways. The way his eyes seemed to light up, too, when he met you for the first time. He had some sort of magic to him, you figured—an air that made people want to get to know him better. It had been a simple meeting in the cafeteria during lunch period.
It had been simple, once.
Now, it’s anything but.
Navigating senior year had been stressful enough, but Heeseung’s laugh made it easier. Heeseung had been the kind of person who could cheer you up with a terribly bad pun—puns he never seemed to run out, a seemingly endless supply of groan-inducing monstrosities. His firm shoulder and tender touch and listening ear made hardships bearable.
The way he would look at you, with all the love he could muster in his eyes, small smile on his lips, made it bearable. His kisses, loving and gentle and playful and passionate. The way he would come over to help you with your essay but end up chatting with your mom while cutting fruit. His whispered nothings when he said goodbye, fingers slipping from yours, with a promise to see you in the morning and a smile that would leave your cheeks flushed and your heart full.
You balanced each other in this way–you did the same for him. Cheering him on at his softball games with cheesy homemade signs that were completely embarrassing but made his heart ache in a unique way nonetheless. Helping him study for AP exams that would boost his college applications. Holding him while he cried into your arms after not getting accepted to his dream college, muttering confusion after confusion that you had no answers to. No solution or fix. You couldn’t fathom why, either; he had the grades and the extracurriculars. He was a model student. He was everything. You told him to try again. He told you it didn’t really matter anymore.
Heeseung was different after that night, in subtle ways that close friends picked up on but teachers and passerby people missed entirely. You saw him changing right in front of your eyes as he grappled with the consequences of his future. His laugh wasn’t as loud anymore. His jokes became less frequent. He got quiet.
His touch felt more distant.
You broke up the week before graduation, a shared agreement where you were both okay with the fallout. Your mutual friends were shocked, especially the ones who introduced you all the way back in eleventh grade. It felt like so long ago. Yes, you would miss his touch. Crave his kisses. Long for being held when all you two would do is watch the stars on a gingham blanket and talk about the future, any future. As long as this imagined future involved you two together, it was okay.
As you sat in a crowd of your graduating peers, it felt like you didn’t know which way was up or down.
College came, and freshman year blew by, as did sophomore year. Memorable only the way you would recount a movie that was neither bad nor good. You tried a bunch of things: club activities that failed because the ones you wanted to join occurred at conflicting times–class had to come first. Jobs that turned to dust because they were only temporary for various holidays or tourist influx. Dates with no one ever worth mentioning.
The first half junior year melted away with major-related courses and more papers than you could believe. You tried not to think about the times Heeseung would come over to be your editor, scribbling nonsense in the margins of your rough drafts. Just like you tried again at the dating scene. There had been others, but none like Heeseung. None with a smile like his, that lit up a room it shined so brightly. None with eyes that sparkled and softened whenever they saw you. Or with a voice like his when you were sad, and he would sing to you.
Some of them wouldn’t even try to sing to you.
And now, here you are: at a Christmas party you said you wouldn’t attend because you had to study for finals–class had to come first. But your friend dragged you along, saying you would enjoy it and have fun. “I guarantee it,” she’d promised, chucking cute, Christmas-y clothes in your direction. You normally wouldn’t have been persuaded, but the incessant asking began to overpower any odds of studying. You’d settled on your favorite jeans and a loose red sweater with sequins interweaved before you had even decided on actually attending.
Your friend was giddy on the way over, in a way you’d never seen her before. As she shifted the car into park, practically jumping out of her seat, you’d put it down to her succeeding in dragging you out to some random party. She was gone the moment you two stepped inside, telling you to “have a great night!” with a wink as she vanished into the crowd.
Which brought you to this.
“What are you doing here?” you ask as Heeseung begins to kiss your cheek down towards your jaw. The bathroom lights were off, but the owner of the house had strung up oversized Christmas tree bulbs to illuminate the space and bring festivity or what have you to the small room. At least, that’s what you assume as your mind tries to process everything all at once.  Red, green, and blue tones dance across his dark hair that curled up at the edges, a tousled look. You notice he still smells like orange and cinnamon, even after all this time.
It has a particular effect on you.
He hums against your skin, and you can feel his smirk. “Kissing you,” he says simply, as if it were the most obvious thing. Maybe it is.
“Be serious!” You playfully bat against his shoulder, and even with the solid hit, warmth against your palm, he doesn’t feel real. This couldn’t be real. You hadn’t seen each other since that summer after freshman year.  You texted and talked but it regarded boring mundane things, nothing ever too personal or revealing. You’d become strangers. You hadn’t even told him about your boyfriend, or the break up following, or the other boyfriend, or the other break up, or the third boyfriend and the third break up...
But they never sang to you, so they weren’t worth mentioning.
A quick peck on the tender flesh of your neck, warmth spreading from each spot Heeseung kisses. “I am.”
“Seung…” you warned, resolve waning.
He laughed against your neck, pulling you closer in the dark. “I missed that,” he murmured.
“What? Me scolding you?”
“No, you saying my name,” he replied, slowly rocking you back and forth. “Actually, no. That was a lie. Just you. I miss you.”
Even though you’re sure it only happened less than half an hour ago, it feels like a million years since you caught Heeseung’s eyes in the living room. It was filled with people, milling around each other and shouting over the obnoxiously loud music in order to hear better, which in turn only made everything else louder. The din was slowly and surely becoming unbearable, and you turned to leave when you felt a stare.
You searched the crowd, standing on the hearth to see above the drunk people and the sorta-sober friends crying about how finals were next week and here they were, playing beer pong with ginger ale because someone forgot to bring more beer to play said beer pong. He looked as shocked as you felt, eyes wide and sparkly and lips slightly agape. Your heart jumped as he began to part through the pained students attempting to forget their GPAs and make his way to you, and you were moving towards him before you even realized it.
Somehow, that led to kissing in the bathroom down the hall, where both of you had raced to lock the door, with no real lights and stupid dollar store Christmas bulbs strung about.
Somehow, you’re okay with it.
“Sing me a song,” you request. You can still hear the party outside, tinny-sounding songs bleeding through the walls and party noise. It sounded like someone just scored big in ginger ale pong or failed miserably. But Heeseung, your Heeseung, is here and in front of you and in your arms. You wrapped your arms around him, arms tight against his back, your head tucked into his chest. This was probably what your friend meant, why she was so adamant about your attendance, though you don’t know how she could have known about Heeseung. Maybe it was his magic again.
You suppose it doesn’t matter. She’d probably tell you all about her evil plan to get you and your ex back together—
You flinched in Heeseung’s arms, eyes shut. Calling him an ex didn’t seem right, though that’s certainly what he was. You’d dated, then you'd broken up. You both agreed to do so, regardless of the begging of mutual friends. Regardless of all those different futures you’d envisioned together. Yet, here at this party, in a place you didn’t expect to see him, a place that didn’t make you even think of him, in his arms, ex seems too harsh.
“Please?” you ask quietly, finding yourself nuzzling into the softness of his flannel.
Heeseung laughs, bright and so much like him, and the rumble through his chest makes you smile. “Needy, are we?” he teases, voice soft. You can imagine him biting his lip like he would when he teased you and his own cheeks flushed. You lean more of your weight against him as he quietly sings to you. “I’m underwater, no air in my lungs... My eyes are open, and I’m giving up... You are the wave I could never tame... If I survive, I’ll dive back in…”
You turned up to him, chin resting on his chest, confused pout on your lips. “Are you asking me on a date?” you question. “I don't even know why you’re here. You don’t go to school here. Or anywhere near here.”
“One,” he begins, bringing up a finger and lightly booping your nose, “I have no idea what you’re talking about. You’re the one who asked me to sing, so I sang. How dare you label me with ulterior motives.” He smiles, nose scrunched against yours, and you can’t help but giggle at his affections. “Secondly, my school had finals last week. I’m finished, and I thought I’d come over and watch all the other people suffer and drown their sorrows in cheap liquor and apple juice.”
“It wasn’t ginger ale?” you ask, frowning.
“They’re too broke for ginger ale, my delight,” he says, the pet name rolling off his tongue like he never stopped calling you that. Like there wasn’t almost three years separating you two like this. “They’re college students.”
“Did you come here to see me?” you ask, the idea popping into your mind. Part of you is screeching because oh my god did you seriously just say that? To him? To his face? But another part, the one closer to your heart, needs to know. The part that’s been daydreaming about something similar to this, though none of them ever occurred in a bathroom at a Christmas party with cheap lights. A part that longs for the simple time, of falling asleep after sweet kisses and talking about the future, any future.
A future with you two together.
“If I survive, I’ll dive back in... I’ll dive back in, I’ll dive back…”
“Hee-seeeeung—” you drawl, sounding like a petulant child. You don’t care, you’re too hopeful. “Answer meeeee.”
He mimics your tone. “Fiiiiiiiine.” He stood you up, pushing you off him with his hands on your shoulders as he levels a stare. His eyes sparkle, even in the low light“Go out to dinner with me tomorrow night.”
You raise an eyebrow.
He smiles awkwardly. “Please?”
“Heeseung, I’m one of those sad college students waiting to suffer for finals. I need to study.”
He groans playfully, like you’d told him he had to win a golf tournament for a chance at dinner. He drops his arms and rolls his head back before looking back up. “Let me try again,” he says, hands clasped behind his back and smirk barely contained on his lips. “Can I purchase your favorite takeout and bring it to your dorm and help you study?”
“Depends.” You pinch your chin between your thumb and forefinger in a mock thinking position with pursed lips. You’ve gotta tease back somehow, right? “Study like real study–you know, the boring way–or study like you kiss me after I get a review question correct?”
“Hey, studies show that rewards help you learn and retain more information.” Heeseung shrugs before his faux seriousness fades into a myriad of giggles as he quietly repeats himself, “Studies... study... haha.”
“Oh my god.” You lightly shove his shoulders back, causing him to break out into more laughter. And there it is, that bright smile that made the sun ashamed. That warmed your cheeks and kept your heart beating on the bad days. The one you’ve longed to see so dearly.
“I miss us,” you say. Or breathed. You didn’t really put effort into saying it, but it came out nonetheless. You lean back against the counter, and Heeseung mirrors your stance against the opposing wall. “Why did we break up?”
“We were different,” Heeseung replies, as if it’s the easiest answer. Maybe it is. “We needed space.”
You bite your lip thinking, eyes everywhere but Heeseung. Is this really a good idea? Had breaking up even been a good idea? College had been lonely without him. He was there but he wasn’t. Baseline text messages were different from face-to-face heartfelt conversations. He’d become a stranger, an idea you kept in your memories. But now, he’s within reach of your fingertips, and something deep inside tells you that if you catch hold, you’ll fight to keep him close this time.
“About tomorrow night…”
Heeseung’s head shot up, eyes anxious. “Yeah?” he exhales, as if he’d been waiting for you to say something, anything.
“If you promise to bring my favorite takeout and a decent supply of kisses,” you say, stepping forward with your hands behind your back just like he had been, “because I do have a lot to study for, I guess you can come over.”
“Really?” Heeseung steps close, and he seems timid. Like you might yell and tell him to go away. Like this whole moment isn’t actually happening. His eyes hold hope and joy and happiness. And you want to keep them that way. “You’re willing to give us another try?”
You nod, biting down a shy smile. Heeseung moves to hug you, swoop you up in his arms and you know he’s going to try and spin you around like a Disney movie. A thought comes to mind quickly, new options forming now that there’s more possibility. You hold up a hand, and his chest runs straight into your palm. “What?” he asks, fearful and worried.
“You still haven’t actually kissed me tonight, Seung,” you remind, tilting your head up towards him. You point all around your face and neck before tapping on your lips. “I don’t think I could wait until tomorrow night after all this time.”
Heeseung pouts, pulling at your hands. “I’d get red lipstick on me, though.”
You smile slyly this time, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling close. Heeseung’s smile grows wide, making your heart pound with the puppy love you’d felt before, but this time, it feels like it could grow into something more. You two were older now, maybe wiser if the school system had done its job. Or maybe you were still fools.
At least, you can be fools together.
You bump into his nose with your own, something that makes you feel little and young and powerful again. You smile up at him and, even in the darkness and the stupid Christmas lights, you can see how his eyes glitter and shine with a particularly new clarity. “Something tells me you wouldn’t mind,” you whisper.
Heeseung bumped his nose back. A quick peck, and you smile that he still tasted like hot cinnamon candies. “Something tells me you’re right.”

JAPAN WAS VERY DIFFERENT FROM THE STATES. A huge cultural shock compared to your busy lifestyle in New York City. You still could remember your father’s long lecture about being aware of your surroundings, don’t talk to strangers, going with your instincts in some locations, and so much more. You would think you were still that young sixteen-year-old girl who was raised by their single dad after the death of her mother, but you were of age. In the fall you would be a graduating senior at Julliard, living alone in a lovely apartment in New York City, teaching dance classes when you had free time, and doing many adult types of activities. You were a functioning young adult whose father still wanted to shelter you away from the world as if you were a hopeless Rapunzel.
It took some convincing for your father to let you go to a ballet convention in Japan for the summer, especially if he was going to be funding it. You planned to rent out a room, get as much knowledge as possible at this convention so you could be prepared for your senior year at Julliard, and then return home. Your father didn’t agree with that plan. He only agreed when your godmother Utahime Iori agreed to keep an eye on you.
Utahime Iori was an international ballet superstar and your late mom’s best friend. They met when they both were competing for the lead in Swan Lake, which was given to your mom. But your mother stepped down from the role when she became pregnant with you. The friendship between the two still blossomed from your mom being in the front row on the opening night to cheer Utahime on to your mom even keying Utahime’s boyfriend's car while six months pregnant with you. Utahime would always admit to you that your mom felt like she was her twin flame. They were insufferable when they were apart and together. Such a close bond and your mom’s death took a toll on Utahime. It hit her like a truck hitting a concrete wall at full speed. It sucked Utahime’s love for ballet right away, but the woman still stuck by your side during the journey of your ballet career.
She held your hand as the people around you threw pity your way during the funeral. She defended your passion for dance to your father as if she was defending an important law case. She did your hair for recitals. She stayed up late helping you come up with your Juilliard audition piece. She played the role of your godmother so well that you knew deep down your mom was smiling down on the both of you.
You were so excited to spend the summer in Utahime’s home country. You knew she was going to want you to practice for the ballet convention because every summer—a dancer is chosen to dance an original piece in front of many known people. From choreographers, dance tour coordinators, and of course, famous ballet royalty. You didn’t want this spot to be given to you considering who your mother was and the fact that Utahime helped fund the convention in the first place. She told you specifically that you won’t get special privileges, that if it’s a better dancer—they will not think twice about replacing you. That’s just how wicked the world of ballet was. When it came to ballet, you didn’t have time to cry about not getting the lead in a dance when the time you were feeling pity for yourself—you could be using it to make yourself better. Those were the words your former ballet instructor explicitly told you and those were the words you kept in your head up to this day.
“We need to lay down some ground rules,” Utahime stated as she placed a plate of food in front of you.
“Please don’t tell me, my dad gave you some rules.” You whined.
“No, these are my own rules,” Utahime said. She sat down at the table clearing her throat. “Practice comes first. I don’t care what you’re doing, I text you to come practice…come! This is not like the states, the dancers here sleep, eat, and breathe dance.”
“Okay.”
“No big distractions. I understand you most likely will want to mingle, you’re my very beautiful goddaughter—but please remember what you’re originally here for.” Utahime adds.
“No Summer flings, gotcha!”
“Okay, I didn’t say that. Just be mindful of who you are flinging with.” Utahime corrected.
“During your free time, please don’t associate yourself with the wrong crowd,” Utahime adds. “A ballerina with a criminal record isn’t cute no matter how good you look in your mugshot.”
“Don’t get arrested, noted. Any other rules?” You took a bite out of your food.
“Enjoy your summer, but please be mindful of what you’re here for. If you get to dance an original piece, it will look wonderful in your portfolio for when you graduate next Spring and that’s the endgame.”
“Of course! So, can I go exploring?” You eagerly asked. You gave your godmother those innocent puppy dog eyes that she has seen so many times since you were younger.
“Fine, but please be safe. I will be stopping at the dance studio, so when you’re done exploring—meet me there.” Utahime says.
You pushed yourself out of your seat and would go over to Utahime pulling her into a hug. Mumbling many thank yous and even kissing her cheek. “Thank you! I promise I’ll be at the studio at a reasonable time!” You yelled as you were going to leave.
You didn’t even let Utahime get a word out before you’re heading out of Utahime’s apartment and essentially you're home for the summer. You walked towards the elevator as you were walking, your face was buried in your phone updating your father on how you were doing. Even though he was most likely sleeping soundly back in New York, you still didn’t want to have him so worried during your three months here. You never understood the protectiveness your father had over you. Although it was a duty for fathers to protect their children as if their life depended on it—your father took it a little too far. Especially after your mother’s death, he once tried to take your love of ballet away from you. Arguing that it was the reason that broke your mom down and he refused to let you follow your mother’s dark path. Whatever that meant. Your mother’s death was a hushed secret that no one wanted to talk about. No one talked about what pushed her to do it, not even Utahime.
So what exactly did your father mean by ballet being why your mother took a dark path?
When you made it to the street, you opened Google and decided to search if any record shops were nearby. In the guest room, you were staying in, Utahime mentioned it being a record player a close friend gave to her and you were eager to use it during your time here. However, she didn’t have any vinyl records at all. She claimed that her career pushed her away from home quite often, so what was the point of buying vinyl records for a record player that only was collecting dust in her guest bedroom?
The first record shop that popped up was Suguru Records. You clicked on how far it was and wasn’t much of a walk. You placed your earbuds in your ear and soon Jazmine Sullivan was blasting through your ears. You took in everything around you as you were walking. From the architect of each building to the locals that are out and about. You enjoyed this atmosphere so much better than the busy streets of New York City during the rush hour of going to work or coming home from work. It was a soothing atmosphere and it made you even more excited to spend a summer here. Granted, the stares you were receiving as you were walking to your destination—it wasn’t anything new from the stares you received when you went to different ballet events around the world.
When you finally got to the record shop, you entered it with a smile. The scent in the store was comforting, homely at most. The first thing you noticed when you entered it was empty. To you, that wasn’t good considering that anyone could come in and take what they wanted and leave. You figured that the familiar bell that would annoyingly ring when the record shop door would push open would cause the employees to hurriedly run to the front of the store. You let your fingers brush against the records as you walk down a random aisle specifically looking for the classical section. You can already imagine how beautiful the tune of a popular classical song humming out the record player while you practice in the living room of Utahime’s place. But as you walk around the record shop, you didn’t even see a section for classical music. However, you did pick up a couple of your favorite R&B albums as you were snooping around.
You heard the familiar bell and your eyes darted to the door and you saw a man with long black hair carrying a box into the shop. He had gauges in his ears and if you were being honest, if you looked closely—he looked familiar. As if you saw him on a magazine cover or something. When his eyes met yours and then scanned over the shop, he let out a sigh before slowly dropping the box he was carrying near the register. “Welcome to Suguru Records, I’ll be right back.” He flashed you a kind smile before disappearing in the back.
You heard some ruckus in the back and what you assumed was the guy who greeted you voice, “I told you two gremlins to stop leaving the front end unattended!”
Soon the gentleman returned with two guys. He had a grip on the back of their work uniform shirts as if he was a father pitbull lifting his pups by their fur to help them get around better. One of the guys looked at the long-haired gentleman and gave him a deadpan smile, “It’s a slow day and it looks like the customer doesn't even need help. You said it yourself, if it’s slow—Choso and I can work on our music.” One said.
The man let go of the back of the two guys' shirts and he would push one of them towards you. “Noritoshi, you start unloading that box near the register. Choso, you go help the customer before I fire both of you.”
Noritoshi was near the register mumbling something under his breath before his boss glanced in his direction. “Do you have anything to say, Noritoshi?” The long-haired gentleman asked.
Noritoshi shook his head, “Oh no, just asking if you were stepping out again, Geto?” He forced a fake smile.
“Yes, an old friend is in town. So please be sure to lock up when we close.” Geto pointed his finger at him and then at Choso before he exited again.
You went back to looking through the records before you could hear someone clear your throat. When you glanced up, there he stood. The one who the guy called Choso, stood right in front of you. His hair was tugged into two ponytails. But it was one unique thing about him that caused you to stare at him as if he was the most attractive guy you’ve seen. A birthmark decorated his face that imprinted from his cheeks across his nose and on his other cheek. It was quite a unique birthmark, something you had never seen before. “Since that guy that just left signs my checks, I am here to ask if you need help with anything.” His monotone voice trailed off as he was avoiding as much eye contact as possible.
“Oh yes—do you guys have anything from any classical composers?” You asked and you watched Choso’s face scrunched up in pure disgust.
“Classical?” Choso asked.
“Yes, I’ll take anything at this moment.” You said. “My godmother has this record player and I just know a classical record would sound so good on it.”
“Classical?” Choso repeated just to make sure you understand what you just said.
“Yes, did I not say it loud enough?” You asked in a frustrated manner.
Choso held up his hand in a defensive mood and would glance over at Noritoshi who was unloading the box of new vinyl records they received. “Hey, check in the back to see if we have anything for the classical genre!”
“Classical?” Noritoshi looked up and you wanted to question if the two were related with the way Noritoshi mimicked the exact face of disgust that Choso did. “I think we have some stuff in the back though.”
Noritoshi waltzed into the back to search for the small number of vinyl records they did have. They weren’t selling, so Geto simply thought they were taking up space from other vinyl records.
You felt the vinyl records that were once in your arms getting gently pulled from your arm. Choso would flip through your options and you watched as he was looking at your vinyl records quite impressed. He held up the vinyl record for Lucky Daye’s Painted, he had a sly grin on his face. If you were bold enough, you would admit that sly grin on his face was cute.
“I have this one.” He said. “You have nice music taste, minus the classical thing.” He snickered before he handed you the records back.
“You don’t look like the type to like—“ Your words were cut off by him.
“Lucky Daye music?”
“Yes.” You admitted as you pulled your records closer to your chest.
“Music is something so magical and versatile. It’s a bit insane to stick to one genre isn’t it?” Choso asked as his back leaned against the record case behind him. His arms folded over his chest and you instantly noticed that his broad arms flexed in his black uniform shirt that had Suguru Records on it.
“But doesn't that contradict you making that face when I mentioned classical music?” You asked, your perfectly arched eyebrows raised at him.
He chuckles at your statement, “I guess it does…” His voice trails off as his dark-colored eyes gloss over your plump lip gloss-covered lips while he is searching for your name.
“Y/N.” You answered.
“I’m just curious as to why you would be interested in classical music?” Choso walked towards the register with you not too far behind him. “You don’t look like the type of girl who-“
Now it was your time to interrupt him, “See, you’re contradicting yourself again. You just said that music is such a special thing that you can’t just stick to one genre. Judging a book by its cover, something I did a few minutes ago.” You said.
Choso chuckled as he was beginning to ring up your vinyl records. “I guess we judged each other then.” Choso's eyes met with yours.
“Yup.” You answered before immediately breaking eye contact. Your cheeks felt so hot at the moment like you were standing outside in ninety-degree weather without water.
Noritoshi came back with a box of vinyl records. “These are the only ones we have. I’m pretty sure Geto put them at a discontinued price also.” He placed the box on the counter. “If we were the managers, we would give you this box for free.”
You giggled at his comment before flipping through the box. “It’s okay.” You picked three random types of vinyl and placed them on the counter. “I’m sure I’ll  probably buy them all by the time the summer is over with.”
You paid for the records and Choso gave you the bag with all of them on it. It was a cute black reusable bag with the store’s logo on it. Choso leaned against the counter and placed his head in the palm of his hand, never actually taking his eyes off of you. There you were completely avoiding his eye contact.
Noritoshi was looking through the box of classical music vinyl records. “So, are you saying you actually enjoy this stuff?” He asked while flipping through the box of classical records.
“I’ve listened to that genre since I was in my mother’s stomach. It’s practically imprinted in my brain,” You admitted as you could feel your phone vibrate in your back pocket.
You quickly looked at the text and saw Utahime’s S.O.S text message. She must have needed you at the dance studio. “But I have to run, godmother needs me. I think I’ll see you guys around.” You began to walk towards the exit but Choso’s voice stopped you & caused you to turn to look in his direction.
“Yes, you will.” He admitted with a smile.
Your cheeks burnt, your words got stuck in your throat, and your brain turned into complete mush. You couldn’t say much, but you returned the smile before eventually leaving the record shop as flustered as a teenager in a cliche Netflix-produced romance movie.
“No distractions this summer, Y/N. No distractions this summer, Y/N.” You repeat to yourself as you are walking back towards Utahime’s place.
But as you continued to walk, you could hear someone yelling your name. When you turned around, Choso was jogging up to you to catch up to you.
“You should come out and see me perform,” Choso was fishing in his jeans pockets until he pulled out a tiny folded-up piece of paper.
“You’re a singer? You continue to shock me, but then again that’s me judging you by your looks again,” You admitted.
“I’m in a band. Well, it’s only Noritoshi and me right now. We’re still looking for other members, but I would love for you to come.” He finally unfolded the paper to reveal a flyer. He extended the paper for you to grab.
“I’ll see if I can make it. I’m going to be quite a busy girl this summer, so I don’t want to get your hopes up.”  You said as you took the flyer from him. Your eyes scan over the flyer that looked like he kept it as a souvenir more than to promote that he was performing.
“You’re only going to be here for a summer?” Choso's eyebrows raised at you.
“Yeah.” You folded the paper back up to give back to him, but he motioned for you to keep it just in case you could make it.
Choso heard Noritoshi calling him from the front door of the record shop and he would slowly walk backward with a smile. His eyes you couldn’t read just yet never looked away from you before he’s parting his lips to speak.
“That gives us three months!” Choso says as he was walking backward.
“Three months to do what?” You asked out loud.
“Three months to get to know each. I’m kinda intrigued on why you’re a classical music fan in this year of 2022.” He yells back at you before giving you a sly wave and heading back into the record shop.
You turned around once again, flustered as ever. You couldn’t even hide the foolish smile on your face at the moment.
This was going to be an interesting summer.

Ight so you mentioned about getting high with Enid, and it got me thinking...
Imagine Sophia didn't die. Lydia and Henry are there. And ofc, Carl.
Cept' they're all the same age right. And it's just all TWD teens getting to experience (sorta) typical teenage shit, ykwim?
Just playing silly games together, getting high, getting drunk, teasing Enid and reader, telling eachother some of their secrets, telling ghost stories, etc.
I hope this makes sense lol :)
i’m so in love with this request. Sophia held such a place in my heart :’)) i hope you enjoy! i’m definitely gonna try and do this request justice bc i have a vision in my head that i really wanna adapt into this story. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
warnings: weed & alcohol. one sexual joke. (please smoke and drink responsibly !!!)
A/N: hope you all enjoy! and as always, requests are open! just read pinned to see all rules if you want to request 🫶🏻🫶🏻
“alright!” you shouted, the biggest smile on your face. you held up a case of beer, “guess who managed to sneak into Daryl’s stash?”
everyone cheered, making you laugh. Lydia ran up to you, “how did you manage to do that?!” she asked, looking at you with disbelief. “i have my ways,” you smirked.
you brought the case over to your small circle of friends. Carl, Enid, Sophia, Lydia and Henry. they were all here with you.
you sat next to Enid, pressing a kiss to her cheek as you handed her a bottle. “you practically risked your life for us,” she joked lightly. you shrugged, “i’ll find a new one for him.”
Lydia sat back down next to Henry. you watched with a soft smile as he wrapped his arms over her, kissing her head.
it was rare to have a night like this. so rare in fact that this is the first night you guys were able to finally all be together, acting like nothing bad was just right outside the gates of your home.
Enid tapped your shoulder, when you turned around she held out a handful of joints. your smile grew wider. “you’re the best girlfriend ever, do you know that?”
“i do.” she smiled cheekily. you pushed her shoulder. “guys! Enid brought some joints as well, we all get one each.” you announced. everyone gasped and reached to grab their own.
“this is seriously like, the best night ever.” Carl said, taking a sip of the beer. “i mean, we’ve never gotten to hang out like this together. if you think about it, it’s really the first time we’ve been able to act like… what we actually are. just teens.”
that’s all you guys were. teens who were forced into this broken world at such an early age. none of you got to grow up the way you were supposed to.
everyone was silent for a moment, taking in Carl’s words. “then let’s make the best of tonight.” Henry smiled, holding up his bottle of beer. you all agreed, clinking your bottles together. it felt like a cliche, but that’s what made it even better.
after everyone’s third beer, Carl sighed. “god, i remember the day this shit started.” he sighed. “my… mom rushing to pack my clothes, all of our pictures. before i really knew it, we have a camp by the quarry.”
“that’s where the three of us met.” Sophia said, pointing between you, her and Carl. “you guys met that long ago?” Lydia asked.
you all nodded, “yeah uh, Sophia was with her mom, Carl had his, i uh… lost mine already at that point, but Glenn found me in the woods. brought me back with him to their camp.”
“wow. so you guys have been through like… everything together.” Lydia said. “pretty much. yeah.” Carl chuckled.
at this point, everyone had started to feel the effects of the beer kick in. “okay, let’s play a game.” Enid said, clapping her hands. “if we want to get a true teen experience, we need to play something. like Never Have I Ever.” she said.
“that sounds fun.” you told her, “yeah! lets do it.”
“okay, rules, if you’ve done what someone asks you have to drink. for example, if i asked everyone if you ever fell into a pile of dead walkers and proceeded to stay there for five minutes because you were… comfortable… Y/N would take a drink.”
you stared at her, biting the inside of your cheek to hold back your laugh as everyone roared in laughter around you. “now why would you say that.”
“because you quite literally did that.” she responded. you pushed her shoulder again and took a sip of the beer. “okay, i have one.” you spoke up.
“uh oh.” Carl mumbled.
“never have i ever had a sex dream in front of half our group and proceeded to moan my name for three minutes straight.” Enid’s eyes widened as her face flushed red. “you did what?!” Sophia laughed.
“you are evil.” Enid told you. you smirked and shrugged, “take a sip, sweetheart.”
“okay, okay.” Carl said. you lit your joint, gesturing the lighter towards Enid to silently ask if she wanted hers lit too. she nodded and held out her joint for you to light it.
Carl’s mouth formed into a smirk, “never have i ever been late to a community meeting because i was too busy having sex with my girlfriend at eight in the morning.”
it was silent between the six of you, and then you and Enid slowly took a sip of your beers. “there’s no way.” Lydia said, staring at both of you with shock.
“i’m not appreciating the fact that we’re being targeted.” you said. “you guys started it.” Carl said. “okay, we need to think of something else before they expose everything about us.” Enid laughed, taking a hit from her joint.
“oh, i know what we could do.” Sophia said almost mischievously. “classic sleepover activity. ghost stories.” she proposed.
“oh yes. lets do it!” Lydia said. “i have one. i have literally never stopped thinking about it since it happened. you were there, Henry.” she started.
“remember the abandoned asylum we found?” she asked him. he thought for a moment before his mouth dropped open slightly. “oh yeah! that was so scary.”
everyone had started to light their joints as well, getting prepared for the stories. “it was a few months ago. me and Henry snuck out of Hilltop to just walk around. like how you and Enid do. we ended up at this really scary looking building that turned out to be an asylum.”
“where was it?” you questioned before she continued the story. “i think it was by the Target we used to go to for runs.” she answered.
“but anyways- we walked inside and this place instantly had a vibe to it that clearly was not welcoming. but we went further in anyways. there was this one room that we walked into, and Henry decided he wanted to try and summon something,”
Lydia gave Henry a look as she said that, and he put his hands up in defense, making you all laugh. “tell them what you did.” she told him.
“i uh,” he laughed. “i started to throw insults in the air. like ‘dumbass ghost’ and shit like that. and to be fair, i was pissing it off a lot. but um, after around five minutes i said something along the lines of ‘you’re too scared to face us” or some shit, and precisely two seconds after that, there was a vase that was behind us, it fell over and shattered completely.”
“famous last words.” you joked. “you forgot the other part.” Lydia told him. “the other..? OH!” Henry pulled his sleeve up, showcasing two scratch marks. “that also happened.”
all of your eyes widened, “what?!” Sophia yelled. “it scratched you?!” he nodded, laughing. “yeah, we got the hell out of there after that obviously. but yeah. do not go into that asylum. i can already see Y/N and Enid planning it.”
“oh fuck no. we are not going there.” Enid said, despite your whine. “but it sounds cool!” Enid shook her head, “you’re actually insane.”
everyone started talking amongst themselves, but you couldn’t help but take in all of your surroundings. your best friends sitting in yours and Enid’s house. the one that you owned together, which was something you never thought would ever be possible again.
you’d never thought you’d make it this far, and if you did, you figured you’d be miserable. but you’re not. everything was coming into place so perfectly. having a girlfriend you knew you couldn’t wait to marry, still having Carl and Sophia by your side throughout all of those years in the apocalypse, taking in Henry and saving Lydia. you finally had what you lost so many years ago.
there was no better feeling than the one you felt right now. maybe it was because you were drunk or high, but you wished this sense of euphoria would stay forever. you hoped you could all still be together like this years from now.
“hey,” Enid said softly, nudging your shoulder. “you’re out of it. what’s wrong?” she asked.
you smiled and shook your head. “nothings wrong. i’m just… really happy.” you admitted. “and god i love you. so fucking much.”
Enid giggled, leaning in to kiss your lips. “i love you too, pretty. so, so much.” you hummed against her lips, “wish we can stay like this with everyone forever.”
“then let’s do it.” she said. “it will always be us. forever.”
“forever.” you repeated. “yeah. that sounds good.” you smiled, leaning in to kiss her once more, ignoring everyone’s fake gags and groans.

Epilogue Life:
The original cast of Heathers played on stage for just over a year before most of them move on to other projects with the major cast change. Heathers (gay version) runs for about two years, going through two more cast changes, before closing. The original cast does go to see the new cast and cheer them on, but it is kind of weird to see someone else acting out a role that became like breathing to them. Overall the remake is taken very well but has just run its course by the time it ends. There will be another revival in a few years and it actually uses both the straight and gay versions of the musical between cast changes.
Catra carries Shot in the Dark for its entire two year run before it dwindles into a temporary retirement and gets revived with a new cast a few years later (same sets and such). She’s the defining lead for the show and obviously on the cast album. She’s really, really proud to have originated a magicat-led show and makes her new origination goal a sapphic role.
After Shot in the Dark, she takes a supporting role in another musical for eight months before leaving early to join Adora and Netossa on a new project. They don’t actually interact a lot in the show and aren’t love interests or anything, and they’ve long since learned to balance their careers while in different shows, but it does allow Adora to propose to her during final bow (with approval from Netossa). Adora tipped their parents off and they’re both in the audience to watch her say yes.
(Adora knew she was going to accept, hence the public proposal, and Catra’s relationship with her mom has gotten better now she’s a successful, independent adult. Also Felina would have been So Sad to miss it so Adora told them both). Oh also they moved in together as soon as their leases came up lmao.
Adora led one show in the mean time between Chicago and their show together, but it was smaller, not as demanding as Veronica, and she was really excited to hop on a project with Netossa and Catra again. She decides to make originating a gay role and collecting cast albums her career goal, in addition to getting in a few specific shows she and her mom looked up to when she was growing up. She already feels pretty fulfilled with her early career though and considers everything else the cherry on top.
Rest of the cast quick hits: Mermista plays Velma center stage in Chicago along with Adora. Fitting her braid in that wig cap is definitely a challenge lol. Sea Hawk starred in a Hello, Again short revival run which Catra and Adora were dying sitting through, but they support all their fellow cast members when they move on to new shows. Perfuma finally got up the nerve to ask Scorpia out on their very last night performing in Heathers together, getting her flowers and then revealing after the show — when everybody was already crying about it ending — they were from her. It was a very confusing confession until Perfuma was finally able to spell it out for her that she wanted to go on a date with her. Scorpia enthusiastically agreed (still crying before the whole “last show” thing), and then gushed to Catra later about how she couldn’t believe Perfuma liked her while Catra nearly tore her hair out listening to the obliviousness. Glimmer and Bow got to play a couple that were already-together side characters in a musical and that’s what finally gets them together because Bow realizes oh, I can’t risk losing this, and Glimmer is done trying to play the jealousy game because it clearly didn’t work and she doesn’t really have a flirty relationship with any of her new cast so they can finally just be honest with each other.
Chapter 1: Auditions
⦁ Things like homophobia and Christianity are usually world aspects I avoid in my fics, but they’re both present in the musical so they had to at least be mentioned in this.
⦁ Oh I should say this will have mentions of all the triggers warned for in the fic.
⦁ Adora and Catra both gave good but not necessarily the best auditions of the day separately. Catra’s was really good when she got permission to do it in her natural register and threw in a growl (she wasn’t actually audibly straining yet, but Netossa scouted her specifically for her voice and knew she was pushing it up near the top of her range), but her Candy Store was a little more uneven thanks to the lack of practice and register change. Adora did just fine in her regular song and really good in her Beautiful reprise, but there were people that did sing a little better technically. That doesn’t mean they would have been better over the course of the show itself, though, and what Catra and Adora had going for them was it looked like they were considering involving fists (the sexy or the fighting kind, take your pick) the moment they were on stage together. They eyefucked their way through both songs with such insane chemistry Netossa was like oh we can sell Fight For Me with these two EASY.
⦁ (Fight For Me is the second song in the musical where Veronica basically see JD in a fistfight and thinks it’s so fucking hot she immediately falls for him, and then they actually spend time together and it seems like they have similar views of the high school around them. And they do! But they definitely have very different solutions. Anyway, it’s a quick romance plot setup that doesn’t pretend not to be based solely on sexual attraction at first but that works and is realistic! The actors just need to have chemistry to make it read right, and damn do Catra and Adora have that).
⦁ Okay, every Veronica has been pretty, but there was some metric that made them not perfect conventional. For the first two Veronicas this was pretty much being brunette with messy hair lmao. For the West End, Veronica was played by Carrie Hope Fletcher, who I think is gorgeous and has blonde curly hair, but she faced a lot of backlash for being “too fat” to play Veronica. Adora is close to the Hollywood ideal, which is the point Netossa is trying to make: someone who could play Heather Chandler in one version of this show ends up the Veronica because she commits the sin of not meeting society’s hetereonormative expectations. Bigots will throw you out for any association with queerness. However, still meeting all those other metrics is what allows her to slip in with the Heathers as long as she helps them out and dresses femme — that’s part of her transformation, going from jeans in the opening number to skirts for the rest of the musical until the final sequence. When show starts, she’s wearing jeans and a ratty flannel with her hair in a ponytail. It’s a quick change outfit, so she runs behind the set to pull it off to reveal her main outfit beneath, brushes her skirt into place, and lets Netossa fix a scrunchy with a big bow on it on top of her existing ponytail to complete her transformation into a feminine popular girl.
⦁ “Janis Dean” is a reference to Mean Girls, and yes, that’s in-universe.
⦁ Catra got the casting call specifically because Netossa needed someone to match JD’s register — plus the growls in the right places added a lot of emotions to his songs. Including the sex ones.
⦁ Changes in Netossa’s version: - The aforementioned “Pretty Veronica” thing. When the Heathers give her the makeover she puts on the iconic skirt and has to wear skirts for the rest of the show, performing femininity in every extra way she can, to make up for her “deviance” of being bi (also, she’s bi. It’s another thing where any degree of deviation is grounds for rejection). - The line delivery (and some content) has been tweaked for the fatphobic stuff to match the changed metanarrative that comes from Scorpia, someone who isn’t actually overweight, playing Martha. The commentary then becomes that nothing is good enough and society’s fatphobia is thrown into light as completely unreasonable. The whole point of that aspect of the show is that it illustrates how awful the characters are, but genuine fatphobia and using it as a plot device to show a character is morally corrupt looks awful similar, so by having someone who is basically just tall and strong play Martha it makes it extremely obvious that the demands are unreasonable. This ties in well with Heather M’s story, where she does have that model body type and is pretty and popular but develops an eating disorder because she’s afraid of losing that. - Obviously a lot is different with JD. She “chooses” to be a lone wolf/outcast because of her personality and views on society, but there’s obvious undertones in their dialogue in the 7/11 that even if she did want to choose differently, she couldn’t because she would be rejected for being a dyke, so is she really making a choice at all then? She goes by JD specifically because it’s more gender neutral than Janis. She couldn’t ever be a Heather and she couldn’t even be a Veronica either, because Veronica could at least be comfortable putting on a matching skirt with her friends while this JD is butch, so she hangs out in her trench coat at the fringes of society. There’s also undertones to her being the only magicat in school due to her father moving around and not caring if he brought her into a hostile — conservative, racist, homophobic, etc — area. - Heather M. is only in with the popular girls for safety and there’s some dialogue around this in the bathroom scene with Veronica. It’s kind of public information (not officially stated but implied in her social media) that her actress, Perfuma, is trans. This wasn’t planned at the time of the casting call, but Netossa worked on it during workshops and the backstory became that Heather M started transitioning how she could before high school and is continuing to “in secret” now. Some people have clocked her though and she sticks so close to the other Heathers to keep herself from being the target of terrible bullying. As long as the Heathers tolerate her (Heather C is on a bit of an ego trip about having blackmail material on her and essentially owning someone in the palm of her hand), she’s given a pass and “has the best (cishood) assumed” about her. - Veronica and JD’s relationship is a little more secretive in this version, but the Heathers do know and Duke later tell her to just be careful not to “dyke it up” at school or they would out her (currently she’s just kind of clocked by some, not confirmed to the whole school). After Heather C’s death, Duke basically threatens Veronica to stay at her heel like Heather M or she’ll out them both.
Chapter 2: Workshop
⦁ You would have to be fucking blind to not realize Adora and Catra have history even in the glances of them Netossa and Spinnerella saw, and Netossa spent the first part of workshop trying to unpack whatever was going on with them. She had to put together the clues to figure out what it was. Once she decided exes was a likely story, she confronted Catra about it because she figured talking about it was the only way to handle the resentment. She was partially using reverse psychology and partially being honest about not resolving all of it being good for the show.
⦁ I made Freeze Your Brain more homoerotic. In the musical, JD does his entire song facing Veronica or walking around the stage and then offers the drink to her at the very end. He does not get in close and offer her the drink and then sip from it after her in an indirect kiss with her lipstick prints on the straw, but mine’s better.
⦁ In the actual show, Heather Chandler doesn’t put on any death makeup. The Off-Broadway would shine a blue light on her after she died to give her an other-worldly appearance and the West End didn’t seem to do anything at all, which was a mistake imho. In this one, when she “rises from the dead”, she does it a bit more dramatically and zombie-like under a blue light, and then she on-stage reaches over for her vanity and starts powdering her face, looks back at Veronica and says “What? I want to look good for eternity” and finishes as Veronica and JD write the rest of the suicide note before collapsing so the cops can find her.
Chapter 3: Previews
⦁ Once again changing the staging for my version (jokes on you, this isn’t just a Catradora fic, it’s me writing my ideal version of Heathers). Usually Heathers has some kind of bi-level stage. This one has catwalks hidden along the backs of the lockers, but they also have more sets. They have house facades they slide in front of the high school set/lockers for the croquet scene (Freeze Your Brain is the closest song) through to Heather’s murder, sliding them away again for The Me Inside of Me. They come back for Our Love Is God, although the second level with JD’s window isn’t brought back until the very end of the show. Kurt tries to climb the same trellis Adora used to get into JD’s window to escape JD as he chases him down. The full facade doesn’t come back until it’s time for Meant To Be Yours so JD can climb through Veronica’s window (that was once his). It is wheeled out as the entire stage narrows in on the center stage for the pep rally and finale.
⦁ Veronica doesn’t rebutton her shirt until after the nightmare scene in the West End version (I honestly can’t remember for off-Broadway), but for this show Adora just isn’t super comfortable hanging out shirtless in front of crowds every night, especially knowing some people are perverted about the lesbian version of Dead Girl Walking, so Netossa said buttoning her shirt and putting her clothes back on before they fall asleep was fine back when they were deciding what Catra was going to do since JD rips his shirt off undoes his buckle during this scene. Adora could have done it (she wears the bodysuit for Mona, after all), but Netossa didn’t mind making that small tweak for her. Catra cared less, but also because she’s not in the kind of underwear that straight guys like. They decided she would have a high-coverage sports bra, the kind that can pass for a binder, on (for this scene and for the entirety of the show since Janis Dean is supposed to be firmly butch). Catra does most of JD’s usual choreo here, minus the belt thing, because they do the version of the choreo where they never stand up and Catra isn’t wearing a belt at all.
Chapter 4: Candy Store
⦁ No wonder she was what way indeed, huh, Catra? Well, multiple. No wonder she was so frustrated, because Catra is infuriating when she wants to be. No wonder she was so hung up on her, because Glimmer also wants to fuck her inexplicably. No wonder she lived and breathed the word homoerotic, because Catra made sure they lived on the razer edge of it at all times. No wonder she was down bad, because again — see the last two point. This line is less of an insult and more of Catra being too magnetic for anybody’s good, honestly, but that annoys Glimmer because she doesn’t want to like her (like that, or at all) so it definitely comes out like an insult and Glimmer is good with that.
⦁ I need you to picture Catra’s “What?” after the brat comment in the same tone of voice as Elle Woods saying “What, like it’s hard?” because Catra definitely wants it hard.
Chapter 5: We Can Start and Finish Wars
⦁ I was nervous about doing this scene just from a trigger perspective, but I figured it would be okay if I kept it all contained to this one chapter, and it was something I really wanted to cover. It was my first thought when I heard You’re Welcome (since it was a new song). I also wanted to explore the support a cast really gives. You don’t have to improvise every night or anything, but there’s always something that pops up over a show and you have to adapt for when you’re doing shows night after night. This is why casts really have to have each others’ backs and are often close. Every person on that stage would have done what they could to help Adora get through the show, but Catra, Bow, and Sea Hawk were the only ones who could have helped in that specific scenario due to their roles, and Adora was good enough at covering it up that only her best friends noticed.
⦁ This chapter was a turning point for them between the lines with the show and reality blurring and Catra realizing (though trying to repress it) how important Adora is to her.
⦁ They do workshop a version of the scenes where Kurt and Ram just don’t come as close in contact to Adora and end up being even more slapstick with each other in place of the more aggressive choreography moments, and during Never Shut Up Again they don’t even come close to Veronica, instead running around the stage to tell the audience/school. They only use it once on Adora’s signal, and Bow voluntarily opts for it once based on vibes and Sea Hawk immediately adapts, but Netossa is right: it’s a good thing to have, and she’s really glad Adora agreed to collaborate on something.
⦁ This last scene wraps up the rest of the show to verify it goes well, but it’s mostly here just to showcase Good Director™️ Netossa. She really cares about her people a lot even when she’s a hard ass.
⦁ Adora doesn’t keep up too much with comments due to what she mentions about knowing there will be homophobia in them, but she’s not totally tuned out on them and a long flood of notifications still draws attention. After this time she becomes more committed to not reading them much, though.
⦁ Yes they’re going to the same dinner place featured later.
⦁ While out at dinner, Glimmer and Bow try to ask her how she’s doing and she gives them an even more abridged version of what she told Netossa and Catra because she just doesn’t want to think about it anymore, but of course Glimmer and Bow are super supportive, and Bow is really enthusiastic about them choreographing an alternate version of the scene because he just wants Adora to be okay and is proud of her for taking that step.
Chapter 6: No Time to Knock (I’m a Dead Girl Walking)
⦁ Chapter title from DGW
⦁ Dead Girl Walking honestly didn’t look that different that night, and Netossa did miss them making out after the lights went down because she was scrambling looking for a scrunchy, but she could tell Catra was going further with the choreo than she was supposed to, especially with the kiss during the kitchen scene when Netossa had given up looking for it until the show was over, and in a situation like that Adora couldn’t say no or stop her without changing the intent of the scene, hence Netossa threatening Catra about the consent issue despite how Adora didn’t seem upset. It’s just something she has to do as director. I ended up reducing it to a one-sentence mention later in the fic, but I thought about having a scene where, after a few nights of them kissing on stage, Netossa goes to Catra’s dressing room and asks her if Adora ever gave her permission for that, to which Catra says yes she’s fine with that, and Netossa corrects her and says did Adora ever give you verbal, explicit permission for that at which point Catra goes quiet and Netossa then demands she go to Adora’s dressing room and secure it before she’s allowed to leave for the night. Cure Catra awkwardly standing in Adora’s doorway asking Adora if it’s okay for them to kiss during the show as Netossa stands down the hall and waits for her. Adora was very bewildered but could tell Catra was being put up to it from the way she kept glancing to the side so she just agreed because she didn’t want them to get in trouble and Catra quickly fled. It just didn’t even up fitting in the flow of the story because it meant verbally acknowleding what they were doing earlier than they were supposed to so that’s why I changed it to Netossa privately asking Adora instead of forcing a confrontation, which is the better thing for Netossa to do anyway rather than force Adora to deal with it if she really were uncomfortable (the reason she did it in this version of the scene was because she was 100% certain it didn’t bother Adora but was doing her duty as director).
Chapter 7: Happiness Comes / When Everything Numbs
⦁ Chapter title from Freeze Your Brain.
⦁ Forever thinking about ND’s “and it was” comic.
⦁ Real shoutout to the person who informed me about the official stage recording of the later version of the West End Heathers because I definitely did not remember any of the dialogue outside of songs and it let me take notes to write scenes like the croquet scene, which is like 50% similar to the one that actually takes place in the musical. A lot of the dialogue not overtly related to Veronica’s queerness is the same, but a little bit of the action was changed around to extend the scene for the extra dialogue and include using an actual ball, because Glimmer being frighteningly accurate at hitting things with a giant mallet felt right.
Chapter 8: Fight For Me
⦁ Heather tries to get Veronica to admit she’s into girls so much so that she can have blackmail over her to keep her in line, although she doesn’t actually need her to admit it, she just knows Veronica would be more afraid of the threat whenever she makes it if Veronica is aware it’s something Heather has 100% confirmed to be true.
⦁ I didn’t include it because I didn’t want to have to cover every scene with differences in here, but in the 7/11 Heather bothers Veronica more about clearly being into girls and is mildly homophobic to JD. Then, in the scene after Dead Girl Walking and Veronica’s nightmare, as Veronica is freaking out about getting to Heather and making amends before Monday, she tells JD in clear terms “She’s going to out me and tell the school I’m bi” which is what Adora was referring to in chapter three when she mentions this version of the musical having the word bisexual in the opening act.
⦁ I know what y’all are going to think this was inspired by, but it’s actually inspired by a fucking Try Guys Korean bbq video where they went karaokeing afterwards. I’ve never been to a karaoke place like that and it got me thinking.
Chapter 9: Big Fun!
⦁ When the show started, Bow and Sea Hawk were both given like packs of the exact same underwear (one in blue variants, one in red variants, and one in black variants) so they could match throughout the show. It’d be easier to coordinate if it was all the same pair, but they wanted the variety for people who came to multiple shows. They actually have a lot of fun coordinating and then, on their own, decided to get a pair of those classical heart-print boxers that they throw in occasionally. Sometimes that’s just based on a day when they don’t want to wear something as revealing as the tighty-whities they usually wear, but usually it’s as a gag.
⦁ It was too awkward to shoe-in here, but part of reworking the choreography around You’re Welcome included the decision to have robes backstage for Bow and Sea Hawk, which they don’t often use, but if it’s a night where Adora is getting overwhelmed intermission is a lot more comfortable if Bow and Sea Hawk aren’t wandering around naked. Sea Hawk’s has feathers along the collar and cuffs.
⦁ Glimmer’s best friends all have abs and she has no idea how sharp her elbows can be.
⦁ Glimmer did realize she was flying a little too close to the sun with Adora if she responded to Catra’s flirting.
⦁ Yeah Catra brought her strap.
⦁ Catra was just a little tired during that show, so she asked Entrapta for some of the drain cleaner as a pickup since it has a lot of sugar, and she was taking a few seconds to rest before she had to go be feral on stage again.
⦁ When I first told my friend Meta I was doing a Heathers fic, Catra downing the fake drain cleaner like shots was one of the first jokes they made and I had to include it.
⦁ Adora thinks there is — a chance — that Catra wants to be dating after this exchange where she says it’s not “a problem”, but she’s definitely worried about saying anything too soon or too presumptive and scaring her off, so she’s just going to lowkey keep acting like they’re seeing each other and hope Catra will open up enough for them to have a conversation about it eventually.
⦁ The people at stage door the night they got “dinner”, and the night they actually got dinner, and the night they went home together, all definitely thought they were dating but only the ones from the first night even thought that might be news. The girl who was a big fan of Catra kept it to herself and her friends, but one half of the couple publicly tweeted the picture they got with Catra and Adora that night mentioning they got to take photos before they went off on a date, but that picture didn’t make its way back to Catra because she wasn’t tagged in it and not that many people “noticed” per se. Final bow was when everyone was like ah so there is something fruity going on there, but even then a lot of people weren’t sure, and it’s something that just got solidified over the coming months as they were seen together more, kissed in public, got a little sappy on Instagram, etc and everyone retroactively realized they were right.
Chapter 10: Beautiful
⦁ Usually the chapter titles are either lyrics that match the chapter or a song that features in a chapter, but in the case of “Beautiful”, it was a thematic match. Beautiful features Veronica picturing her future and the next phase in her life. For this chapter Catra is also exploring her future and her next steps. And also she’s gay for Adora.
⦁ The First Contact scene started as a Mass Effect joke (iykyk) and then I ended up including it. I honestly thought I was going to cut it because it’s kind of random but the point was to show how long they’ve known each other and they have their own world of games and jokes that they lost when they lost each other, so I ended up keeping it.
⦁ Cheekbone > Clavicle > Cupid’s bow (aka Achimenes longiflora) > Gums (aka Alveolar process).
⦁ Catra freezes up after Adora asks what she gets for a good show because she can’t bring herself to say “Me.”
⦁ Shot in the Dark is one of the episodes of the show I’ve rewatched the most, when they find Melog and Catra learns about the power of friendship. The musical was either going to be called that or White Out tbh (real ones know my relationship with that episode) but Catra is playing a magicat specifically in this role so going with the Melog episode felt right.
Chapter 11:
⦁ The blanket came from Lance, actually.
⦁ What’s my ideal choreography for Meant To Be Yours? So glad you definitely asked. This scene is usually presented so abstractly I don’t think someone unfamiliar with the musical/movie would even know Veronica is hiding in her closet. My ideal version (with the staging already set up in this play) is the house facade with the window being rolled in on one side of set (only one just cuz there isn’t time) and JD appearing on the other side of the window (with the light off so it’s more like he’s creepy in the dark) and doing his knock knock thing. Veronica in the middle of the stage panics and runs to the back of center stage, where it’s carefully choreographed for the ghosts (Kurt and Ram) to be rolling in an open doorframe that she runs through and Heather slams behind her. Then Kurt and Ram would lean against each side of the doorframe making fed up and “can you believe this dude?” faces at each other as JD has his whole villain speech in center stage before going to pound on the door and finally wrenching it open to reveal Veronica hanging on the other side with Heather kind of “in the corner” making a comedic fake shock face looking between JD and Veronica as JD breaks down. When he leaves and Veronica struggles to get down for a second, Heather would roll her eyes and help as Kurt and Ram wheel off the door and then quickly move the house facade off stage as it transitions to Dead Girl Walking (Reprise).
Chapter 12:
⦁ My idea for this AU was that Catra would have a “stage mom” and then their acting coach would have been Shadow Weaver to get that Trauma Backstory™️, which means Catra needed actual parents. I already had the pair from Trade Today For Tomorrow, so I wasn’t going come up with a new set of names, but it does feel kind of wrong to have changed Leona to be a “bad” mom. In general, if/when I do use them again, I’ll be using their TTFT personalities. Also, in this AU Leona isn’t awful or anything, but she really wanted to be an actress and it didn’t work out so she has been pushing her child in that direction even when it was painful, which gave them a tense relationship. Most of my other Catras would be thrilled to have parents like this, but Catra doesn’t have that context for None or Very Bad parents, so she’s just another person with an awkward relationship with her parents and doesn’t think about it too much.
⦁ Catra used to spend Christmas ever at Adora’s house and then Christmas at her own/moms’ when they were kids.
Chapter 13:
⦁ My original idea for a childhood dream musical was to stick Adora in Wicked because you know Mara is a sucker for that show, but for mezzo-soprano it’s mainly Elphaba, and the whole point was giving her a role that wasn’t lead. I settled on Chicago because something LGBT is happening in that prison and I think Mara and Hope would both like the show. Adora is going to play Mona in Chicago, a fairly minor character who gets a solo verse in Cell Block Tango when describing why she killed her lover for cheating on her. She appears (namelessly) in more songs but also gets off-stage time, and that song is absolutely ICONIC, so Adora is really excited to get to take part in it, even if it’s pushing the absolute limits of her dancing ability. She does a lot of practicing leading up to the show, so Catra is worried for a bit about her getting too busy and their relationship faltering about, but it balances out after the initial push. Adora’s moms are super psyched when they hear she’s going to be in the show and the marketing team ends up releasing the Broadway cast’s version of Cell Block Tango online at the open of the show to drum up hype for it, so Adora really hits one of her big career dreams — though still with room to grow, if she can get it with a larger role and a full album. This role shows her that headlining isn’t all there is to musical theater, though, and having smaller parts can really by worth it for the off-time.
⦁ Uh so. Mona’s outfit. The outfits for the inmates in Cell Block Tango are usually pretty close to lingerie. Adora has a bodysuit, because it works for the song and she’s more comfortable being covered in something skintight than just wearing two pieces, but it’s still quite a Lot for her parents to see it. They know what they’re in for though and everybody just neglects to address it after the show when they praise her voice. Catra loves Adora in the outfit though.
⦁ Based on my previous formatting Shot in the Dark, Chicago, and Hello, Again should actually just be written out without italics, but because the nature of the titles (length and formatting) make it confusing without italics and clunky with quotes, so I ended up just being inconsistent between them and Heathers.
Original Outline:
I outlined this one pretty heavily going into it, in the way I used to for my fics where I’d write like a one-sentence summary of every scene planned in a chapter going in. Of course, I knew I would add and change scenes as I went, but I was pretty faithful to the outline outside of additions. I was outlined out to chapter 8 but thought it would expand to about 12 chapters between the ending I hadn’t outlined (I needed to be closer to it to know what the right conclusion was) and scenes adding themselves in along the way to up the count, and I finally put that count on the fic when I was writing chapter 10 or so, but then I realized I fucking forgot about the cast album and I got the idea for the bar scene so all of Chapter 12 ended up getting added and expanding it to 12 chapters.
The only “big” thing that didn’t happen was the catnip thing, which was mostly a joke I outlined anyway, but it was just too much from several angles so I cut it before I finished it. The idea was someone pulling a prank on Catra by putting catnip on her vanity and getting her lowkey high. Non-destructively pulling something on a castmate’s dressing room is pretty common antics, but this felt… very targeted and tense even though the castmate was doing it fairly innocently and just ignorant of that angle to it, so I didn’t want to go through with it. Catra was going to corner Adora though and demand if she fucked with her dressing room, and when Adora was obviously confused by the confrontation, fall into her arms and aggressively scentmark her even as she growled explaining the vandalism, which Adora offered to clean up for her and let her use her dressing room to change so she didn’t get more exposure to it. Again, the “getting a castmate a little high” thing, even accidentally (they didn’t realize it had much of an effect) was just not a line I — or the cast — wanted to cross, though.
Upcoming:
The 4th anniversary SPOP Big Bang is going to run May 12th-18th and I’ll be posting daily for the first few days with my magical realism AU Lightbeam along with my amazing artist partner who made an illustration for every chapter! Keep an eye out for it :)

Looking For Dad
Chuya Nakahara X Daughter!Reader Osamu Dazai X Reader (Platonic)
Word Count: 1180
Requested: Anon
Request: Could you do a Bungo Stray dogs Platonic dad Chita x reader daughter, kind of like a Buddies Daddy. A little 4-5 year old girl arrives at the ADA asking to look for their dad. They almost take her to the police when she pulls out a photo of a teen Dazai and Chuya with a woman. Pointing to the woman as her mom, and obviously the reader resembles Chuya more. Dazai grins and calls Chuya explaining that someone is looking for him and tracked him down. Chuya gets the wrong impression and Dazai surprises him at a park. Chuya is now a dad lol
Warning: Your Mum is hurt
Tumblr media
None of them had expected you to appear in the office, they had never really had anyone younger than 18 looking to use their services but there you stood pulling out a chair to climb, Atsushi running over to stabilise you before you fell off “I’m looking for my dad!” You told them as you sorted through your pockets taking out small pieces of candy before finally pulling out a folded photo. “We should take her to the police, they’re probably best suited to finding her parents.” Kunikida said and as you unfolded the paper. “Dazai, are you listening to me?” “She looks like him.” Dazai mumbled as you looked at him, you held up the picture and pointed at the woman. “This is mum and this is you right? I want to find Dad.” Your finger moved as you referred to each person in the photo, Dazai walked over and looked at the photo. It was in fact him and Chuuya with another woman, he remembered that day. “What’s your name?” Dazai asked. “(Y/N).” You answered and he nodded. “Well (Y/N) I’ll try and call your Dad but he might not answer the call.” Dazai said as he lifted you off the chair, everyone was confused, they had never seen Dazai with a child before but Kunikida was the only one that knew his behaviour was because of someone in the photo. Dazai sat in the chair that you had been standing on and sat you in his lap. “Where’s your mum?” “Something happened…” You answered “she got hurt bad.” “Mm.” Dazai hummed. “Is that why you're looking for your Dad?” You nodded. “Alright you are gonna stay with my friends while I can you Dad okay?” “With the tiger?” You asked as you looked at Atsushi, they all looked at you as if questioning your knowledge. “Someone asked mum to go get him, they gave her a picture but she told them no.” “Dazai, who is this woman?” The boss asked having come out to investigate the noises coming from the office. “Her mother was the best assassin in the port mafia before she disappeared.” Dazai explained “she left at the same time I did, both our records were scrubbed and she went on to live a normal life, the reason that she left was this little one.” He ruffled your hair as you looked up at him. “She was pregnant when she left?” Atsushi asked. “Yes she was and I told her if she was ever in trouble that she should call me but instead you came to find me.” He looked at you. “Whenever we walked past this building mum said that if anything happened to her that I would find help here.” You explained. “Wait, you know who her father is?” Kunikida asked, he should have known that it wasn’t good news by the way that Dazai looked at him and with a smirk on his face. “Her father is Chuya Nakahara.” Dazai answered. “The mafia executive?” Junichiro asked. “The very same.” Dazai nodded in answer as your eyes widened at even knowing the name of your Dad. “Now I just need to see if he will answer the phone.”
Chuya glared at the unknown number on his phone, he knew that he should ignore it but there was something telling him to answer the phone “What?” He asked, finally pressing the green button and answering the call. “Chuya!” Dazai cheered, the regret was immediate. “What do you want?” He asked. “You remember (Y/M/N) right?” Dazai asked. “I have something she left behind for you.” “How do you get anything from her?” He asked. “She found me.” Dazai answered as Chuya glared at nothing in particular. “What?” He asked. “Someone’s looking for you.” Dazai finally said and after a long pause he agreed on a meeting place.
Dazai sat on the park bench with you, you were eating an ice cream and flicking your legs back and forth “Do you think Dad will come?” You asked. “I hope so.” Dazai answered, it wasn’t that he didn’t like having you around, in fact you were more tolerable than your father would ever be but you needed to be with your family and he knew that if Chuya believed the stories then he’d keep you as safe as he could. “What the hell are you doing sitting next to a kid?” Chuya’s voice emanated from behind you both and Dazai stood up, turning to look at him. “The kid sat next to me actually.” Dazai answered as you turned on the bench and finally laid eyes on your father. “Dazai what am I doing here?” Chuya asked. “It’s you!” You cheered as you held up the picture that you had shown to Dazai on your arrival, Chuya finally looked at you properly, your eyes were the same as your mothers but it was the necklace that you were wearing that really convinced him, he remembered (Y/M/N) taking it from him after he stopping if from hitting her, she put it into a necklace and telling them that she’d never remove it, unless they both had something more important to protect than each other. “Where’s your mum?” He asked as he walked over to you taking your small face in his hands. “She got hurt… She told me to look for Uncle Dazai if something went wrong, she said that he’d always be able to find you.” You explained and he looked at Dazai briefly. “Uncle Dazai?” He asked. “Well that’s got to stop.” “Huh?” You asked. “Don’t worry kid.” Chuya sighed before picking you up. Chuya had a lot of experience with kids given his life before the port mafia, he’d at least be able to look after you until your mother got better but he’d need to go and see exactly what was wrong with her. “Hey Dazai.” “Yes Chuya?” He asked, all joking left his voice. “Find out what happened to her mum, it’ll be easier for you.” He said and Dazai nodded. “I planned to.” Dazai answered, “look after her.” “Don’t tell me what to do.” Chuya muttered as he turned away from Dazai, you waved at him with a smile on your face as you finally rested your head on Chuya’s shoulder. “You trust too easily, little one.” Chuya mumbled and you looked at him and shook your head. “Mum told me about you and Uncle Dazai, I wouldn’t trust anyone else.” You informed him and he gave a soft smile, your little face scrunching up just like your mothers whenever she’d get angry. He hoped that he could see her again but for now he just had to keep you safe and wait for Dazai to give him some answers.
“Are we really just going to let him go?” Kunikida asked. “He’ll look after her.” Dazai answered. “You believe that?” Kunikida asked, Dazai just turned back to the agency, he had work to do and he wanted to find out what had happened to his friend.

I don't post my own photo on here often, but this is one of those times I can make an exception.
August 16th, 2024, was the day I FINALLY realized a lifelong dream --- I FINALLY met New Kids On The Block. Where do I even find the words? I never thought I'd be face-to-face with them, much less hug and talk to each guy. I guess I can start by going through the meet and greet, step by step….
Danny: He greeted me and asked how I was doing, and I think I said I was fine lol. I gave him his "Block Party" bracelet (which 4/5 of the guys received, in their mic colors, and I have a multicolored matching bracelet. All five bracelets were made by my amazing niece). He said something along the lines of "Block Party!" and was happy about it lol. I told him it was my favorite song. (Is it any secret, considering I named my fan page after it AND had one a shirt & hat with "Block Party" on them).
Donnie: We greeted one another (hugs included, which goes without saying for all five guys), and I told him the bracelet was for him and the letter was for the group, and I wished him a happy early birthday, in which he thanked me. :)
Jordan: He said hi and hugged me, so I was relieved he broke the ice considering we're both shy and riddled with anxiety lol. I gave him his bracelet and he thanked me and put it on. :) We took the picture and I can't remember if anything else was said lol.
Joey: He greeted me, and then got distracted lol. But it's okay because he turned his attention back to me and I gave him his bracelet. He said "Aww for me!" D'awwww. :')
Jonathan: I didn't have a bracelet for Jon because he requested to not receive them, so I respected his wishes. I told him he was my Mom's favorite and she passed away in 2021, and he was so sweet about it and told me he was sorry. I wasn't sure what I was gonna say, but considering the three-year anniversary of her passing was the day before, and she was supposed to be the first one I talked to after meeting the guys (that was decided many years ago), I wanted to mention her; make her a part of this experience.
So, the interactions were kind of laid back, and with how nervous I was, I think that was for the best. :)
After meet and greet, I needed to kind of get myself together, so I went to get merchandise and food. Eventually, I found my seat and the show began. DJ Jazzy Jeff and Paula Abdul were so much fun. :)
When the lights went out for the boys, shy, nervous, anxious little me didn't exist for a little over two hours. I sang, danced, cheered, played in the confetti, captured memories, and waved to Donnie (and he waved back)…. I had the time of my life. I didn't care who saw me dancing like a dork or what anyone thought, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I'm planning to do it again next tour. There's something about their shows; my favorite Boston boys, my favorite songs, the confetti, the energy… you can just forget about everything for a few hours and dance the night away.
If there's anything I've learned in the last 11 years, it's that life is short and can change in the blink of an eye. Go to the concert. Sing your heart out. Dance like no one is watching (because I promise you, they're watching the guys anyway lol). If you cannot attend, blare that song in your room, grab a hairbrush, and have the time of your life. You only get one life, so live it, live it, live it up! ;)
Providing the boys continue touring for several more years, my long-term goal is Individual VIP for 2028. As for 2026, I'm hoping to get regular seats for my sisters and I, and just relax and enjoy the show! :D
Danny, Donnie, Joey, Jonathan, and Jordan, thank you for making my first meet and greet an easy one, and thank you for the AMAZING show you put on that night. You keep showing up, and I'll keep showing up. I love you guys to pieces. :)

Rough Day
word count: 1k blurb: (selfshiptober '24: confession + night) Cait needs some cheering up after work, and Ashley needs to get something off his chest. cw: light venting about work/low-self-esteem lol note: happy selfshiptober!! there are SO MANY of these prompts I want to get to, I hope I can do them all lol! for day one, I thought I'd introduce you all to my new guy Ashley 🥹💜
Tumblr media
Ashley's car was filled with the scent of warm french fries as he and Cait sat in the parking lot of the drive-thru, one of Ash’s random playlists playing quietly over the stereo.
He'd picked her up from her closing shift at work—she insisted he should rest after the long day he had, but he hadn't seen her in days and wanted the excuse to hang out. His younger brother Jeremy was at their mom’s for the weekend, his poker group hadn’t met all month due to conflicting schedules, and he was avoiding the pool hall because he still owed a guy some money. In other words, Ash was more than a little eager for some company, and it didn’t hurt to get it from the girl who had wormed her way into his heart—as a best friend and as something much, much more.
He took out a fry from the paper bag, waving it in front of her. “You sure you don't want any?”
“I can't eat this late.” She laughed, gently pushing it away. “Makes my stomach hurt.”
The smile on her face from his antics didn’t last long, though he was glad he got a genuine one at all—she seemed so down tonight.
“You okay?” he asked, voice gentle as he dropped the fry back in the bag between his legs.
“Yeah, I just… I don't know.” She turned to look out the window, where the light drizzle of rain had started to make the asphalt glisten. “Work sucks. Or more accurately, I suck at work.”
He wasn’t sure if he was glad she was opening up, or if he felt bad for bringing it up instead of trying to take her mind off of it. “Rough day?”
She forced out a laugh with a stiff shrug. “The whole job just makes me realize how stupid I am.”
He couldn't help the sound that snorted out of him in disbelief. “What? Cait. You're not stupid.”
“Maybe not about the things we talk about, but at work…” She looked down at the console between them, wishing she hadn't admitted it in the first place. Now there was a lump in her throat. “They keep telling me I don’t interact with customers enough. I don’t push the rewards card with the right words. One of my bosses told me I phrase things weird, I confuse her every time I ask a question—which I have to ask a lot of.”
“So? Fuck ‘em.” He hoped she’d crack a smile at the words—she didn’t.
“It’s not their fault, Ashley.” She threw a hand up in hopeless frustration, her voice wobbling. “A retail job is simple for most people.”
“Well you make other things look simple. Cool things, things you're passionate about. Who gives a shit if you're a good retail sales associate?” The words spilled out of him, “You're sweet and you're fun, and talented, and resilient. And… Jeremy loves you.” He swallowed down his fear, wiping salty fingertips and suddenly-sweaty palms on his cargo shorts, feeling anything but casual as he admitted, “I love you.”
She froze, breath catching. The song on the stereo changed as she stared at him, wondering if he possibly meant what it sounded like he meant.
“In a…” He cleared his throat, shifting in his seat, dog tags jingling as he fidgeted. It took everything in him to look at her when he said it, scared of what he might see in her expression. “In a not so… entirely… friendly kind of way.”
In the glow of the light from the restaurant sign, she watched a blush creep up his neck, dusting his cheeks.
“You mean…?” Cait trailed off, not wanting to say it if it wasn’t true.
He nodded, voice hardly above a whisper as he answered, “Yeah.”
Seconds passed, seconds that felt like hours to Ashley. She wasn’t saying anything, he couldn't read the look on her face, oh god, why did he say anything—then she shifted forward just a little, a little more, reaching out a hand to cup his face as she leaned over and kissed him.
He sighed into the soft, simple press of their lips, sparks flying under his skin, the heat on his face only growing hotter.
She could taste the salt on his lips, his mustache gently tickling her skin, the scent of shampoo from his post-work shower surrounding her. Her other hand found his shoulder, gently pulling at the soft fabric of his flannel.
It was a little clumsy, a little chaste, and yet neither could think of anything that had ever felt more right or more intense.
When he felt her smiling, felt the little breath of a laugh escape her, he pulled back. “What?” he murmured, gaze tracing her face. His head was so fuzzy—had he done something wrong?
“Sorry, I just…” she grinned, biting her bottom lip as she sat back in her seat. “I’m happy. And I love you too. So much. But this—” she laughed again, “this might be the most unromantic song to have a first kiss to.”
Ashley barely even remembered he had music on—everything else just seemed to fall away. And now he was so caught up on the words “I love you too,” that he barely could think straight enough to register what was playing.
Warm all over, buzzing, wanting nothing more than to lean over and kiss her again, he couldn’t help laughing too as Creed’s chorus for Bullets came on. “Well. It’s a romantic song to me now.”
She was still smiling as she leaned her head against the headrest, looking at him with pure fondness. “So.”
“So…” he repeated, leaning against his own seat and returning her gaze. “You wanna… be my girlfriend?”
“Yeah.” her voice was soft, holding none of the lingering sadness from earlier as she placed her hand on the center console. “You wanna be my boyfriend?”
He took her hand in his, giving what had to be the easiest answer of his life. “Yeah.”

Hi me again! I would love if you could do Mattias Samuelsson with prompt #4 from the general fluff list! Thank youuuu 🫶🏻
AUNT AND UNCLE DUTIES
this is also my first time writing for mattias, so i really hope you guys enjoy lol <3
4. "i don't think either of us are qualified for this but sure, go for it." (from this prompt list)
tw: babies/kids (babysitting)
you and mattias had been together for a good length of time. you were at the point in your relationship where grandparents and other relatives were asking when you were going to get married.
marriage wasn't in the cards for you anytime soon, and neither were kids. you loved your nieces and nephews but the closest thing you had to a kid was a cat. so, due to your childlessness, you were often the babysitter for your siblings and other teammates.
it was friday, and while other couples were out at bars or going to nice restaurants, you and mattias were playing restaurant with imaginary food at your coffee table and drinking out of plastic tea cups.
"i would love more tea." you smiled at your niece maddie, who gave you a smile and poured fake tea into your tea cup, pretending to take a sip.
mattias sat on the other side of the table, stiffly, with his knees up to his chin, "can i have some more tea, too, maddie?" he asked, holding out his cup.
before maddie could respond, your phone buzzed on the table. maddie's head whipped over to it, and when she read who was calling, she reached for it before you could.
"mommy!" she cheered, going into a giggly babble with her mom and telling her all you had been up to that night. it took a few minutes but maddie finally, reluctantly, handed the phone over to you.
"thank you." you smiled, stepping away and talking to your sister, "what's up?"
"me and steven were wondering if you could watch maddie for just a little longer."
"how much longer? it's almost her bedtime." you reminded her.
"yeah, we were wondering if she could stay over tonight. just for tonight." you froze, unable to get words out.
"we've never had her overnight." you reminded her again.
"yeah, i know. but what better time than now to start?"
"we have none of her stuff." you sighed, wracking your brain for an excuse. you love maddie, but she had never spent the night with you and mattias before.
"oh, like you don't have a stockpile of things under your sink right now." you could see her rolling her eyes.
you sighed, "fine. but you owe me."
"thank you." she smiled. you haded the phone back over to maddie. your sister explained what was going to happen while you explained to mattias, who wore a similar look of horror on his face.
"i don't think either of us are qualified for this," mattias sighed, running a hand across his face, "but sure, go for it."
"great, 'cause i already said yes."
"y/n..." he sighed. maddie said her goodbyes to her parents then started playing some game on your phone, "we don't even have an extra room." he whispered keeping his eye on maddie to make sure she was still distracted. you looked over at him and laughed nervously, "seriously?"
"it's just for one night." you told him, "and think of it! you get to fall asleep to the dulcite sounds of lorelai gilmore." you smiled at him. mattias liked to fall asleep to something, most times a show, other times music. currently, his show of choice was gilmore girls, your influence.
"fine, but tomorrow, harry potter." he told you.
"deal." you smiled, kissing his cheek, then filling maddie in on the good news. you got her situated in your bed while mattias made his bed on the couch in the living room.
"can we watch a movie?" maddie asked as you tucked the covers in on each side of her.
"do you promise to go to sleep?" she nodded, "all right, here." you handed her the remote, "i'll be back on a second. gonna go check. on uncle mat." you kissed her forehead before making your way out to the living room.
mattias was laying on the couch, a couple blankets tossed over him as he flicked through netflix before settling on gilmore girls, like you knew he would.
"so predictable." you teased, rounding the couch and sitting on the arm of the couch next to his head.
"is maddie good?"
"yeah, she's picking a movie." you nodded, "thanks for sleeping out here. i appreciate it."
"yeah, as long as i get my bed back tomorrow night." he joked.
"you will." you smiled, "i'll see you in the morning." you leaned down, kissing his forehead, "love you."
"love you, too." he grabbed your hand before you could walk away, and pulled you down and kissed you, "see you in the morning." he smiled.

Hey, Is our bands name "Infamous" or can we choose ourself? I really like the idea of naming a Band "OverRated" just imagining going on stage and screaming "WE ARE OVERRATED!!!!" and everyone cheering. It's the kind of thing I find funny.
Anyway I like the characters so far, they have me all intrigued, I marked Seven with a big X bc I'm a sucker for enemy to lovers trope. Do you have any fun facts for our bandmates?
lol thats so funny and yes, you can choose the band name yourself. My friend has plans to call them "THE BAND"...just the band. So when they get introduced, "give a round of applause to the band!"
fun facts...
G: has a tattoo on the bottom of their foot of a cartoon cat sticking the finger lmao they also have one in the inside of their bottom lip that just says their name, they're very unserious (shouts to my sibling who has a tattoo in her inner lip lol)
G is also banned from a bar called Peekmans because they kept jokingly (and drunkenly) suggesting putting glory holes to the boss and the boss got so irritated by their persistence (they would find a way to slip it in any conversation. literally every one) that they just told them to never come back
August: August finds comfort in their headphones and they've had it for years and it only barely works. There's been multiple instances where someone walked in on them slamming their headphones against the wall and being like "???" only for August to put it to their ear and say "yeah, works now" and walk away
Victoria got scouted to model when she was getting groceries with her mom. She was around 16. At first she thought it was a scam but went through with it and the rest was history.
One of her biggest and most consistent rumors is that she isn't a natural redhead? She's threatened to show them the carpets match the drapes but obviously her team is like "absolutely not" (G finds the prospect and the fact that it bothers her that much hilarious))
Sebastian: Sebastian failed his driving test 6 times. cried actual tears of joy when he passed on his 7th. Also, he and his girlfriend at the time conceived Maya the same night he lost his virginity. talk about bad luck. (the fact that he had a baby before getting his license is a reoccurring joke between him and Maya)
Seven: Seven's favorite bands are Rancid and The Clash (they also secretly love like top 40s pop but their mUh ImAgE). When Seven was in the band with MC, they sucked really bad at the guitar. Now, they're pretty good in their new band, but they still don't do it often since their guitarist is miles better.
they can also play 'twinkle twinkle little star' on the piano and they're very proud of that
Orion: Orion used to work for a very popular record label before he saw MC's band and quit on a whim after the record execs said MC's band doesn't have the 'it-factor' Orion believes otherwise. He's very athletic and wakes up at five for a run and drinks those nasty egg yolk and blended food shakes. Terrifyingy disciplined man.

hello! hope your day was well and the watching of the season finale was fun.
here is my rant for this episode lol. i always look forward to your commentary!!
> to start: not jace acting as if ulf and hugh were just regular everyday bastards like no bud, they are targaryen bastards (or at least i think ulf is, hugh confirmed he is). like had their moms been married and had them, they'd have a high claim than both him and his mom. and the projecting is crazy, like baela said, get it together and stand by your mom bro, you have uno jobs.
> daemon is literally a crazy man, like crazier than me on a normal everyday average day.
> also, if we went based on how the succession should've gone, plenty of people have a high claim to the throne like rhaenyra did (baela/rhaena through rhaenys). like many people have the means to challenge her, they just dont have the energy (thanks jaehaerys for not liking women??)
> aemond i swear is a woman beater. like if he is willing to lay a hand upon his sister...imagine if he had a wife and the way he talks down to his mom and helaena is oooo, i'd have him smacked silly. like im so glad alicent interceded for helaena because ... he just lost his damn mind.
> alicent is lowkey wishing she had to put up with aegon at this point (everyone is wishing the same lol)
> gwayne clocking cole was gold and criston cole's smartest line by far was something along the lines of: "perhaps all men are corrupt and perhaps honor blows away like mist in the morning." it kind of goes hand in hand with the quote from game of thrones that's something like "there's a beast in every man and he stirs when a sword is put in his face."
> didn't know we were wrestling in mud today and Tyland is as confused as me every episode.
> the acting kills me every time like no offense because i know i couldn't do better, but like the first episode of game of thrones had better acting like its good in this show but not the best like i swear sometimes they talk like robots or like theyre explaining the plot to us (which alicent did for no reason towards the end like just be evil to be evil. women can be evil too they don't always have to be kind and submissive.)
> these characters have become so unlikeable that i have to dig deep to find ones i like.
> ulf has no table manners and not everyone mentioning they aren't of noble birth but like technically, they are like they're as much royal as jace the only difference is his mom kept him and his grandfather allowed it so he should count his blessings.
> alys is carrying and she makes daemon more likeable and i rather watch them and their friendship than daemon and rhaenyra's weird codependency daddy issue relationship (they are making me hate targcest. matter of fact, all the targayens are making me hate everything about them.)
> helaena gets my cheers because she told aemond who was boss and stuck it to him and proved she has a voice and just chooses when to use it. like im betting she wishes aegon was better because at least he was moldable unlike aemond like you could manipulate aegon to do what you wanted. aemond is a lose cannon that needs to be put out.
> corlys without rhaenys is making me ill because he doesnt care that he abandoned his kids, alyn and addam to start a whole new family and left them to fend for themselves as kids like finish what you started. im sick of seeing bastards left and right and watching their families move on without them like finish what yous started if you can!!
> rhaena's safari quest is like watching an ad for something like if i see her quest again, i might cry.
> season 2= story with no plot
sorry for the essay friend, i feel bad every time you respond to it because its so long, but hey, its the last episode so the rants can become shorter now and less time consuming!!
p.s> otto being locked in a tower when everyone is trying to reach him is so funny.
It's fine, I feel like we all got so much to say, we are so confused, angry, sad, Idk what I'm feeling anymore
>You know what? I'm with Jace on this. Rhaenyra said it herself "they think we are closer to gods than to men, but they say that because of our dragons, without them we are like everyone else", then let's go to Jace, who realises he is a bastards on a very early age, think about the fact that the only way to comfort him, is Rhaenyra assuring him that "you are a Targaryen, that's all that matters", and the only "legitimization" he had was his blood, the fact that he (a bastard) could ride Dragons THAT ONE WAS HATCHED TO HIM ON HIS CRIB, then a war breaks out because of the usurpation, which one of its many "justifications", is that Rhenyra "has no true heirs", and his bastarcy had been called out MANY TIMES BY MANY IMPORTANT PEOPLE, and then.... AND THEN HE SEES THIS "COLLECTION" of bastards like him who can also ride dragons? So yeah, I'd be bitter too, and super insecure, because bastards get KILLED in this world, but I also see your point, but the fact that two of them had the white hair that he does not? dang
>Daemon... yesh, whatever makes you sleep at night dude, like, if you needed an Ayahuasca trip to come to the realisation that you need to support your wife... go for it my dude jejeje, whatever ticklled your fancy JAJAJA
>Yeah but that fizzles because of Viserys was made king... so... no point on resurfacing Rhaenys' claim
>I said it before... they DESTROYED their character, I thought his family was going to be what makes him a great villain, an antagonist even, I DO IT FOR MY FAMILY FOR MY MOTHER WHO DEFENDED ME AND MY SISTER WHO IS AN INNOCENT, why couldn't they keep that in? like in S1E9? it makes it much more attractive, and powerful AND LIKEABLE. I LIKED HIM IN SEASON ONE! i found him such an interesting character! where that was left, idk.
>Alicent is just... incoherent, madder then tripping Daemon
>I found that scene useless and boring, and??? like... why? why there? it was like, they filmed it, they made Criston say some "good" lines (?) and then they didn't know where to put the scene so they just threw it somewhere not to waste it? Why he is recriminating him about fucking his sister (IN FRONT OF EVERYONE? DUMB C*NT) NOW? now after like four chapters since we know him? (and he found out) no sense
>Like I said, they cut out two chapters, so m guess is that it was part of something THAT MADE MORE FUCKING SENSE? hahaha I found it weirdly likeable (more at the end)
>I have nothing to say about the actors actually, they are fine to watch I guess, they are victims on this
>They have nobody sacred, they destroyed Alicent, BUTCHERED Aemond, (because despite what TG has to say... TEAM GREENS ARE THE VILLAINS DUDE (in the books), and they manage in season one to actually have fans that are TG!!! and people who enjoyed their characters!!! I could get behind cult Alicent, because she had nothing else so she turned to the gods, so, I guess that's fine BUT ITS NOT FINE BECAUSE IT WAS FOR NOTHING???
They made TB boring and indecisive, butchering them too?? BORING, IDK, if I was Rhaenyra, Alicent would have been DEAD to me the second I realized what happened... specially after she tortured me, diminished me, bullied me, and put my BABIES in risk for all those years... BUT SHE IS WORTH A LIFE-RISKING TRIP FOR? the septa scene was just straight out of a PARODY (calling it fanfiction is an insult to us) and jsut not speak about this last encounter (GO NYRA, MOCK HER, SCOFF AT HER), but what the writters did to them both, is a crime punished by the gods
>Ulf, I don't even want to talk about that clown, I hate him, but Nyra c'mon, what did you expect?
>I have little thoughts about Alys... I really thought they were going to take her character in a complete different direction, Idk how to feel about her, I like that she could be like a "grey" character, like a Loki of some sorts, like "the end justifies the means", yes I'm going to mentally torture you for weeks, only to make you come to the realisation that you must protect and fight for your wife, like, thanks I guess? jejejeje I'm intrigued of what are they going to do with Aemond and Alys... those trips are going to be... DIABOLICAL hahahaha
>Yes I agree, if they had placed ONE scene with Helaena visiting Aegon... she would have been my top three favorite characters in the season, definitely, what Phia has done with her character (WITH SO LITTLE) makes her worthy of a FUCKING OSCAR, and GRRM said it himself, she is one of the characters who he liked more portrayed then in his own writting so, yeah, PUT HIM ON HIS PLACEEEEE, she was like "fuck around and find outttt" hahah
>Yeah, I thought Corlys was going to pull trough this as a decent man, but what he had done and will do? motherfucker, that's all I have to say, you did not deserve Rhaenys, nor those kids, and his house will collapse in front of hiseyes. (I hope they give Addam the place of his brother in the story taking the lead on House Velaryon) Corlys (like Otto) deserve everything that's coming their way, I wrote it on HOTW, he and Otto sank their teeth into a Targaryen of their choice, and they ripped them apart.
>Yeah, Daemon in Harrenhal all over again, It doesn't help that I don't like her at all, look, I'm not the prettiest doll in the store, but I don't like to "watch her", and thinking about what will happen in the Essos crossing, adding to the fact that she will claim a dragon, infuriates me and hasn't even happened yet, she is behaving like a spoiled brat and just... she bores me, Daemon I get it... (FOR SOCIAL REASONS I'M KIDDING), Baela is hanging by a thread, they must give her something to do besides having scenes with Jace. I enjoyed her scene in moondancer, but like the Rhaenys' scene... was for shock value, and not that important to the plot...
>This was all over the place, I just keep writing and writing this and something else always comes up
You know what? i was so fucking angry, about to go to bed angry, and this actually helped me to "put my idead in order", I really hope you can read this noonie! really, I was all over the place, and this somehow soothed me.
HAHAHA Otto! where is he? can't imagine where... he said he was going to the Tyrells? so I don't know who he could have crossed on his way there since they send Tyland to Essos (in the leaks they say it was gonna be him dealing with the triarchy). I enjoyed that part, they gave the triarchy faces, and that gives them a depth that... I weirdly liked.

random but have you thought abt gaming and hutao?
funny story anon, when I was writing ga-ming's fake voicelines and needed to give him more characters to talk about, I was considering adding a hu tao voiceline, but decided against it because I didn't really see a reason for them to meet (besides via friends (new liyue 6ang addition?!?!?!)). lowkey I now feel validated bc they don't have any in-game voicelines abt each other, but this would be a very boring ask if it just stopped here lol.
there's something to be said about gaming and hu tao's family baggage vs their cheerful external demeanor vs both doing a job that isn't super well received (?) by people in liyue harbor. but hu tao leans into her eccentricities a lot more while gaming is on the 'likeable by everyone' grind LOL also the dad similarities might increase if we ever get 76th funeral parlor director lore: hu tao's parents have been conspicuously missing forever, where did genshin put them? an interesting possibility would be if the 76th somehow split off from the family trade and subsequently got wiped from the family tree bc of ideological diffs (like ht's beef with baizhu), which could increase gaming and hu tao's possible shared father(?) troubles. but besides that I feel like there's not too much similarity there. They're both enthusiastic outward facing individuals, but idk if they'd have an interesting dynamic if they met.*
Although, you know that voiceline where hu tao does a magic trick and makes a butterfly of fire? and also how she plays with those lion statues outside the ministry of civil affairs? those two things would be straight up gamings alley ngl like he'd be so down for that kind of whimsy and playfulness. also hu tao would be a good candidate for a 2nd lion dance partner. she'd be completely down for doing odd jobs and this is absolutely a fun odd job, at least until she gets tired of it or has to focus on official business lol. idt she's the type to work hard at it; she's just there to try it out because it looked cool but gaming appreciates the enthusiasm regardless. would request to be the lions head in order to lunge at people and also pick greens. also there's potential for a gaming yun jin xingqiu hu tao tea appreciation club
oh also i think smth underrated abt hu tao is how shes like cheery and eccentric but takes her job seriously and has unidentifiable but occasionally present baggage .... which i already mentioned before is similar to how 75% of gm's voicelines are cheery, and then the other 25% is emotional conflict. idk! maybe under the right conditions, they could open up to each other and sympathize
*addendum: imo, hu tao has mostly moved on from her grief over her grandfather's death, and she doesn't have any regrets about the state of their relationship when he passed away, since they were pretty close and never on bad terms. My personal hc is that she still has some things she wished she said, ie. sincere thoughts and feelings from the heart that she usually avoids talking about (she would say "nice speech, but that kind of killed the mood" if someone made one of those anime protag power of friendship monologues). in my head, her grandpa taught her everything about death and funeral customs, played with her/listened to her poetry, pretended to go along w her pranks, and was in general a very loving person, but I don't think hu tao ever explicitly told him "I love you" before he died. she canonically tried to find him right after he passed away but knew that he wouldn't be there. by now i think she's made peace with his death, but still has a certain wistfulness about things she didn't think of saying. and then on the flip side, if ga-ming could see his mom again, he'd probably spend a whole day talking to her i think. he's also not someone to get drunk on grief or regrets, but i don't think he's quite gotten over it completely, and his rocky relationship with his father (before lantern rite 2024) makes this more emotional idk. not sure where I'm going with this, but maybe hu tao would be able to talk him through a bit of this messiness and urge him to simply continue with his own life. or show him that his mother was not at the border, perhaps never lingered there, because she didnt think there was any unfinished business with him or his father that she needed to worry about. the annoying thing about death is that even if the dead person was free of regrets, those who are still living will still miss them. maybe both gaming and hu tao would be able to understand that and/or sympathize with it. or maybe they'd just be silly together who knows, up to you
edit: it'd also be so funny to have gaming call hu tao "boss hu" 胡老板~~~~~~~
