Azriel‘s lips collide with hers before she can finish, her back softly being pressed against the wall behind her. He swallows the gasp that escapes her and thd chuckle that follows. "Berdara," he rasps against her lips. "What did you just call me?"

"Loser!" She laughs and is now the one to kiss him, slamming her lips against his while simultaneously her arms curl around his neck and she jumps up.

Azriel catches her with ease, giving her rear a soft smack. "You are impossible, my mate."

"But you like it." She grins, her lips curling against his when they break apart for a moment.

"I fucking love it." And his lips close over hers once again.

I may do a sequel to it when it's done BTW as there's a whole stage of L.O.s life with them that will be interesting to cover after certain events, but that will be a next year thing seeing as I'm still a fair bit off ending Manna

Technically a sequel to the last post. But the recent Spider-Man and Moon Girl interaction I wrote. I really don’t have a basis for a story for this crossover. Or I have wondered about it but it hasn’t developed fully. Especially the mention of Silver Sable and her Wild Pack may change later on if I ever remake this, maybe not actually. Because this Spider-Man is based upon some of my ideas I’ve talked about recently.

Spoilers concerning a little bit of Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur season 1. And this scene...somewhat rips off a deleted scene from Into The Spider-Verse. But the context is different. This is all unedited and raw. Also, when I was writing it, I REALLY overdid it. And this is from a draft from July 17th, 2023.

Moon Girl sat on the other side of the walkway, in front of the billboard sign. She had grabbed onto her knees, brought them close to her chest as she looked onward. She looked upset, not wanting to talk to anyone. But unknown to her, a similar figure climbed aboard the billboard walkway, staring at her. It was Spider-Man.

He just stood there, wondering what to do. How would he talk to her now? He wanted to choose his next few words carefully. As he thought carefully what to do as he looked down at the ground far below. He finally said something.

“I’m not upset...I’m not angry. I just want to know.” He said before slowly walking towards her. And then he slowly sat down on the walkway, with his legs dangling in the air below. He took a deep breath and asked again. “I want to know alright.”

“Know what?” Lunella said back to him.

“...the thing with Aftershock...the incident with L.O.S. and that...Beyonder guy you mentioned. But also...that Morlak guy, the Enclave. Why didn’t you tell me?” Spider-Man asked her.

“Because you would get on my case even more. I don’t want that.” Lunella responded.

Spider-Man stared at her. He could understand the upset tone she was in. He looked down at the ground again. After thinking it over a bit. He takes off his mask, slowly revealing again who Spider-Man really is. Peter Parker. With his long brown hair, and a medium stubble beard. He holds his mask in his hands before looking back at Moon Girl.

“I don’t want to talk as Spider-Man...or...I wanna talk without masks. Is that okay with you? I think it would be better if we looked at each other without these. No mask, no helmet...just two people talking.”

After a few seconds of thinking about it. Lunella took off her helmet and held it on her knees. She then looked at Peter, going along with what he was suggesting. Again, she looked upset. But more sad than angry. When she looked at Peter, she noticed the guilt and concern he had on his face.

“I’m sorry to make you feel that way.” Peter said to her.

“Well, why are you acting like that? Devil and I have been taking care of ourselves. We’ve been through a lot already and you act like how my parents sound like when they wonder why anyone would let their kid be a superhero. And you know what? I think what hurts me the most is I thought you would understand.” Lunella looked at Peter with the same face when they started this conversation.

The last part got Peter. And what Lunella was saying was right. He needed to tell her now of why he was feeling this way. Despite the fact he supported her, but recently there was this side of him showing that he needed to explain.

“I do understand.” He responded before continuing on. “I understand maybe...too much or...the reason why I’m so concerned over you is because I see myself in you.” When he said that, Lunella became a little surprised after he said that.

“A kid that’s a science wiz...stubborn at times. Who loves their family. I think I’m...projecting myself onto you. Because again...I became Spider-man when I was a kid. Remember what we talked about? How hard it was being Spider-Man? Trying to maintain relationships, jobs, money, school and trying to do the right thing. Hell, there were times I was overdramatic and said I don’t want to be Spider-Man anymore.” He took a breath before continuing to speak again.

“And then...all that trauma...the loss...meeting with villains that...and here’s the thing that really made me thought more about this. It was some years ago, not too long ago. It was an ordeal where well, you might’ve seen it in the news? Do you watch the news?” He asked her a good question. Lunella didn’t say anything.

“Okay, it was a situation that included Silver Sable and her Wild Pack and other things. I was taking the whole superheroing thing really seriously during that time...and I learned something about my uncle...something that made me nearly quit being Spider-Man...because I learned something about him that made me feel like being Spider-Man was a mistake.”

Lunella was surprised and confused. “A...mistake? What did you learn about him?”

“He...wasn’t the perfect sage I thought he was. I’ll leave it at that. But...I went through a very grown-up thing. It gets dark. And I don’t want to tell you that. But...thinking back to my life. And how I grew up. You have your whole life ahead of you. You’re so young. And when I was projecting myself onto you.” He paused a bit before continuing on.

“When you were projecting yourself onto me?” Lunella.

“I was scared. I was thinking of how outside of the L.E.S. and what I’ve seen and heard. How I grew up. My name has been slandered; I have...nearly died so many times. It’s...it’s scary out there. I have been thinking like what if you went through any of that? What if...something happens and...” He then set his mask between him and Lunella, then put his right hand over his eyes. Lunella kept looking at him. She saw how talking about this was making him nervous.

“Listen. I’m no mentor. I’m not a dad. I’m...I’m not my uncle.” Peter continued as he took his hand off of his eyes. “Hell, I’m a grown man now, in my 20′s and I still don’t have everything figured out. I wasn’t spoon fed this stuff growing up as Spider-Man. I...I was mainly a loner. I didn’t like the Avengers; I was standoffish, had a chip on my shoulder, and...God I was an ass back then.” He said as he put his left hand on his chin. “I think I’m still an ass sometimes to this day.”

Lunella chuckled at that last comment.

“I apologize for swearing. I...again, it was tough growing up.” Peter said.

“Well...remember when you told me and Casey you didn’t have to be alone in this?” Lunella said.

“Yeah.”

“Can I ask...who helped you during that time when you thought being Spider-Man was a mistake? I’m guessing who but if I’m wrong, that’s okay.” Lunella asked.

He put his hands on the walkway before saying anything. “...Mary Jane. It was her. She helped me. She...made me feel like I didn’t have to take on things alone. Like...she understood.” After Peter responded, it was silent for many seconds. Lunella thought to herself before she talked to Peter again.

“You know...I’m guessing what we all need is someone to help us along the way.” Lunella started to smile again.

“Yeah...like you got Casey and Devil helping you and...your Mimi now. You have this support system that keeps you going. Makes things easier.” Peter gave a warm smile as he thought about that. And then he frowned. “I’m sorry that I’ve been overprotective at times. I was...again scared. But...I should’ve realized you’re already such a brave kid.” As Lunella listened to him, she was surprised. “You’ve done so many good things. And you’re still going. Looking out for your community and the little guys you know. Because the L.E.S. is well, pretty great.”

Lunella smiled as she looked away from him.

“To be honest and this is going to sound cheesy. If it was the other way, you’d be my hero.” When Lunella heard that, she was shocked. She looked back towards Peter. Who gave her a warm smile. “It sounds cheesy, I know. But...you’re a tough kid and you’re a great hero. Never forget that.”

They both looked at to the sky, not saying anything. Just thinking about the heartfelt conversation they had.

“Thanks for telling me that.” Lunella told him.

“Yeah, no problem. And you know what? I think MJ might really like you? Or I think she would like Casey a lot. They may have a lot in common.”

“Really? How so?” Lunella smiled as she asked that.

“I don’t know, like, how Casey acts, and MJ’s a model part actress. Maybe Casey will give her makeover tips. I think MJ would love your family...man, I wanna check out that rink they own now but as myself. Not Spider-Man, you know. Oh, I’m tired.”

Legion of Superheroes - Team Roster

This is a team roster for the Legion of Superheroes (L.O.S.) from DC Comics. Given how MANY members there have been, I will ONLY include the three founding members, the members that artist Ryan Sook drew in his artwork of the team, and a few that I personally like. Also, do to the theme of them being a team where bigotry is no longer a problem (I heard that somewhere), a few white members will be racebend. Yes, I have some issues with racebending, but that mainly applies to DC and Marvel comic books characters who have been repeatedly and largely portrayed as white, in all types of media besides comics like TV, video games, posters, etc. (When it was announced that Clark Kent Superman would be black, I didn’t feel happy because he wasn’t an original POC hero, he’s been ALWAYS seen as white, AND they could’ve done other Black superman like Steel, Val-Zod, and Calvin Ellis, the fact that they go with Clark implies a common criticism I have with racebending: It’s piggybacking off the popularity of a white hero and having no confidence for original POC heroes, which is both insulting and pandering); the LOS doesn’t necessarily count given that the team hasn’t appeared much in the media outside a few comics (which I think the only recent one was a couple of years ago with Jon Kent but they don’t have a lot of issues like Superman) and one animated TV series. Plus, the whole point of the team was diversity and inclusion from the creators. I will NOT racebend LOS members who are already people of color; and, as a side note (something I just thought of and wanted to put in words), I don’t like the recent trend of DC and Marvel racebending redheads, that’s MY opinion and I’m entitled to it. And I’m not one of those “fans” going around sending hate mail/tweets or being an asshole racist to the actors of color who have/will portray long known white heroes; people like that are spoiled, entitled, jackass “fans” who are TRULY racist. You’re entitled to your opinion just like I am but I will NOT tolerate racist trolls.

Wow!!! That was 07-07-07. Today marks 13 years to the date of my first album release. Purpose: "The Father" was a such a joy to create. I write poetry about my friends sometimes when I'm sad or if she's sad too. Or if I notice a little offness or a quirk that seems poetic or just pretentious. Because that's all we really are. A group of ragtag and untamed becomes soundless and estranged if you force yourself to face your truth. I've learned too well all I am burned out youth. Burning fires in hearts that don't understand why people must move on or why love can't just be lusting for a hand to hold. We are soon to grow deranged and to cold to set about making plans for Saturday nights spent eating our sorrows drinking our pains laughing at ghosts Oh! What terrible gluttons for punishment we all are. I am surrounded by our ashes. We are cliches. We are hair clips and bloodied lips. We dream of soft touches,  all to familiar with the pain of a knife in the back. We are made of ripped tights We speak in hand grenades, Please understand that this is  exactly what makes our ashes flicker and our eyes too bright.

Learning Objectives for Carmichael

My CAR L.O.s were:

learn tasks & responsibilities similar to that of a youth services/teen librarian by working through a task list created by supervisor & assisting with programs

learn & become familiar with YALSA standards for maintaining a teen space in a library by reading through YALSA’s guidelines and doing assessments of the current teen space(s)

Most of the things I did during my internship at CAR were items on the list created for me by S, which means most tasks relate to my first l.o. The tasks I did, such as helping out with various programs, like the lock-in, and researching ideas for displays or program activities, were to help give me a feel for some of the things a teen librarian is responsible for doing. At the same time, they also were sort of designed to help my supervisor get some fresh insight about teens & the library, and what types of things/items should be promoted/focused on. I really enjoyed working through a lot of the items on the task list! And I now have a better idea of all that goes into coming up with and executing teen programs and such at a library.

As for my second l.o., that one is pretty self-explanatory. S downloaded and printed out for me the YALSA teen space guidelines (at least the sections that were relevant, since SPL doesn’t really have a separate teen section on their website anymore), and after reading through them, I did assessments of 2 teen spaces, based on those guidelines and also my own opinions as someone who is still considered a teen. It was interesting to see what YALSA had listed as a standard, when some of them didn’t really seem feasible for the average public library.

While real estate agents chase leads and close deals on houses, there’s another level of deal-making that takes place within the real estate industry: mergers, acquisitions, integrations and partnerships.

Here we recap noteworthy deals that didn’t make it into print (and some that did) for your perusal.

Oct. 9: LeadingRE partners with marketing technology Studeo

Leading Real Estate Companies of the World (LeadingRE) added marketing platform Studeo to its Solutions Group program, which identifies business resources for its international network of 565 independent residential brokerages.

Studeo creates storybook-like online presentations for real estate listings.

“Studeo is all about showcasing the stories behind listings, neighborhoods and the expertise of the agent,” said Studeo co-founder Rebecca Rose in a statement.

Oct. 10: Engel & Völkers sets up shop in Charleston, South Carolina 

Engel & Völkers announced its fourth real estate brokerage location in South Carolina, led by license partners Peter and Kimberly Wiebe, serving Charleston, Mount Pleasant and the Sea Islands.

“Charleston consistently ranks among the top places to live in the U.S. and internationally and has been an important market within our growth strategy,” said Anthony Hitt, President & CEO, Engel & Völkers Americas.

Oct. 10: Sotheby’s International Realty Brand partners with news publication in Japan

Luxury residential real estate brand Sotheby’s International Realty announced an alliance with Japanese news publication Nikkei through the end of 2017.

The alliance enables the franchise to generate Japanese buyer interest through the Nikkei’s digital platform, which reaches over 29 million monthly readers.

Oct. 10: Quicken Loans Mortgage Services (QLMS) and CalyxSoftware release new loan origination software Q-L.O.S.

Mortgage software provider CalyxSoftware partnered with Quicken Loans Mortgage Services (QLMS), a division of Quicken Loans, to power its Quicken Loans Origination System (Q-L.O.S.).

Q-L.O.S. users can get full access to QLMS’s mortgage products to customize the refinance or homebuying experience for their clients.

“Many third-party originators are expanding their businesses and looking for new partners and better technology to serve their borrowers and improve the customer experience,” said Bob Dougherty, vice president of business development at CalyxSoftware, in a statement. “We are proud to partner with an industry leader like Quicken Loans.”

Oct. 12: International MLS teams up with FIABCI

The International MLS (IMLS) and FIABCI (the French acronym for Federation Internationale des Administrateurs de Bien-Conselis Immobiliers”, which means “The International Real Estate Federation”) signed an agreement enabling IMLS to expand its global membership network through marketing tools provided by FIABCI.

As a result the IMLS will be featured on the FIABCI website and FIABCI members will have access to special offers.

Oct. 18: Property management company signs deal with video marketing firm

California-based property management company Sequoia Equities entered into a contract with Show My PropertyTV — a video marketing producer that creates collateral for hotels, luxury homes and multi-family apartments — to produce and distribute 45 videos.

“The 45-video contract will enable SMP to develop exclusive, portfolio-wide, marketing footage for Sequoia,” according to a press release.

Oct. 23: Realtor associations offer members forms library access, MLS data through zipForm Plus

Four real estate organizations — the MLS of Southern Arizona, Jackson Area Association of Realtors in Michigan, Lubbock Association of Realtors in Texas and Centre County Association of Realtors in Pennsylvania — are now offering their members forms library and/or MLS data access through ZipLogix’s zipForm Plus and zipFormMLS-Connect, the automated data entry solution housed within zipForm Plus.

“When it comes to the real estate transaction process, data entry plays a very crucial, yet time-consuming role,” said zipLogix Chairman of the Board Mark Peterson in a statement. “With zipFormMLS-Connect … members using zipForm Plus will now have the advantage of auto-populating listing data right into their transactions, simplifying and expediting the transaction process.”

Oct. 24: CoreLogic provides multiple listing clients with social media marketing tool

Real estate technology and data powerhouse CoreLogic announced an agreement to offer Florida-based SavvyCard, a social media marketing platform that harnesses an agent’s personal and professional relationships to generate leads, to its multiple listing clients, of which there are more than a million.

“With central provisioning of SavvyCard, a multiple listing organization can provide every subscriber with a beautiful, ready-to-go mobile solution that easily pushes all new listings directly to their social media accounts,” said David Etheredge, co-founder and CEO of SavvyCard, in a statement.

Oct. 25: Remine launches in Greater El Paso Association of Realtors (GEPAR) and Alaska MLS (AKMLS)

Remine, a data company that partners with MLSs to augment information with predictive analytics and data visualizations, is integrating with GEPAR and AKMLS, and plans to partner with 20 MLSs across the country.

“Nearly 40 percent of our membership participated in the launch with Remine. I’ve never seen anything like it,” said Michael Smith, CEO, AKMLS, in a statement.

Oct. 25: Engel & Völkers establishes new office in Montana

Engel & Völkers is expanding its presence in Montana with the opening of Engel & Völkers Western Frontier, to be led by license partner and managing broker Dawn Maddux, one of Montana’s top real estate producers. It will serve the Missoula, Bitterroot and surrounding area markets.

“Western Montana is a hidden gem that more and more people are discovering as an ideal primary or secondary home destination known for its natural beauty and expansive plots of land,” said Anthony Hitt, president & CEO, Engel & Völkers Americas, in a statement.

Cognition / Cognitive the mental action or process of acquiring knowledge and understanding through thought, experience, and the senses. Learning Objectives for Arcade

My L.O.s for ARC were:

learn circulation software (Sierra), through training with staff & using it

learn about collection development through the teen graphic novel/manga section & through shelf reading

learn basic shelving duties through staff training & experience

(bonus: gain customer service experience)

So obviously, tasks I did like learning delivery procedures & how to check-in items related to my l.o. of learning how to use SPL’s circulation software, Sierra. I didn’t get quite as much experience with Sierra as I would’ve liked, but I definitely was able to get a feel for it. It wasn’t too hard to get the hang of after awhile, but there are certainly small details that, if I’m not working with it often, I’ll probably forget.

As for all the shelf reading I did, that relates to my 2nd l.o., which has to do with collection development. The point of me doing all the shelf reading was to sort of go through and assess parts of the library’s collection, based upon certain criteria. (As M put it, not verbatim, the library’s goal is not to just provide windows for people to see how others may live, but for people to be able to look into mirrors & see themselves reflected.) & based upon the assessments, the library could see where they would need to improve or change things, & various other tidbits that are probably important but my brain is too fried to try to parse right now.

& with l.o. 3, things I did like pulling dead items or missing/claimed items, and straightening shelves, etc., were tasks that were related to that!
