୨୧ not in the way that pelle really has a breeding kink though, more so in the way that whenever he saw your daughter playing by herself or not having many friends due to her macabre interests, so similar to her father, he just wants her to have a friend really bad, he knows loneliness more than anyone and he knows how hurtful it can be to be alone simply because your interests do not align with many others

♡ and what better way to give her a friend than to have another child with you? to give her a sibling when she’s still so young, only being a little older than a toddler!

୨୧ pelle himself grew up with siblings, he knows very well how special that sibling bond is and he actually really wants that for his daughter, he wants her to always have someone she can turn to outside of you and him, her parents…

♡ so pelle likely brought it up to you from time to time, albeit very shyly as he doesn’t quite know how to go about telling you he thinks having another child would be nice! but you understand him quickly, catching on to all of the hints and agree with him, much to his delight

୨୧ when you actually give birth to your son is where i can see some problems starting to arise, just some slight issues…

♡ pelle is so soft on your daughter and so openly loving towards her, always making sure she knows how much he adores her and now she can come to him whenever she needs to! with your daughter, pelle was very rarely afraid, maybe it was because she looks so much like you that he just saw you in her, saw your comforting smile and warm eyes

୨୧ but your son is just a double of pelle, inheriting almost all of his features and having close to none of yours! whenever pelle looks at him, he feels as if he’s looking directly into a mirror, looking at his younger self, right into the eyes of his former self who had no idea how dark his life would soon become in his teen and young adult years…

♡ that is what scares pelle, whenever he sees your son, he sees himself and all of the pain that was brought down upon him by forces that he couldn’t stop nor waver

୨୧ it’s the thought of your son growing up and going through those same things that he did which terrifies him, the thought of your son doing those same things he did in his darkest days just kills him

♡ i mean, this was already a slight fear with your daughter, he was fearful of her growing up and falling into a downward spiral but with your son? it’s even worse simply because of how much pelle sees himself in your son, anyone can see how much they look alike, it’s as if a mirror is reflecting an image of the past and present

୨୧ it’s those fears that makes pelle almost not want to interact with your son, he’s just so incredibly afraid of himself somehow tarnishing his innocence by simply being around him, as if holding him and loving him will curse him to a life of pain…

♡ it will take a little while for pelle to break out of this, only after so much assurance and love from you, only after you’ve told him to look at how amazing your daughter is turning out and only after you’ve told him how much your daughter so obviously loves her father is when pelle will become much more open to your son and luckily it is when your son is still very young

୨୧ it’s not as if pelle was ever cold or hateful towards your son before, he was just afraid and extremely cautious but he did love your son, he still loves your son, it’s just that now he feels like he can actually show it more and feel secure in it… he no longer feels like he is hurting his son by loving him

♡ as i mentioned in my post about this dynamic, the best representation or parallel for this family dynamic would likely be kratos, faye and atreus from god of war! pelle does love his son, more than anything, but he feels like he has to protect his son from himself, he has to protect his son from his own past self and the possibility of his son becoming like his old self when he grows up just scares him! he needs you to teach him how to open his heart to his son just as you taught him how to open his heart to his daughter, he needs to be assured that he is a changed man, a better man and an even greater father

୨୧ anyways, let’s move on from all that slightly angsty stuff now…

♡ pelle would absolutely adore seeing your two children playing together, always sitting or standing close by as to keep an eye on them due to your daughter being a little older and having a bit more strength than her brother

୨୧ he’s kind of a helicopter parent like that, he does not ever want them to get injured or upset, it just kills him inside although he does handle it really well when an accident does happen!

♡ he might be panicking really bad on the inside but he learns how to hide that from his children, even when he himself knows deep down that there’s no real reason to be panicking this much

୨୧ like when they get a slight scratch from playing in the nearby woods! pelle is so quick to yell over and ask them to come over to him so that he can check the small wound, his voice wavering slightly and he walks over to meet them halfway! all kinds of thoughts running through his head, really ridiculous thoughts about the possibility of it being a poisonous branch or other things… but he keeps all of his paranoia locked up and hidden from them, he knows that openly freaking out will only scare them and scaring his children is not what he ever wants to do at all

♡ he keeps all of those fears hidden and silent inside of his head until he comes back inside to see you, coming over with slightly wide eyes as he bursts into a quiet spew of words about how you both need to keep an eye on your child for the rest of the day in case they get a fever and how it’s all his fault that they even hurt themselves but you shut him up with a soft laugh before leaning up to pet his pale cheek and plant a gentle kiss on his lips, mumbling against them how small scratches are a part of childhood, how it’s not his fault at all and he needs to quit blaming himself for everything but he isn’t as quick to forgive himself…

“ yes, but… if i had been closer to them, or maybe i just shouldn’t have let them go into the wooded section, then they wouldn’t have… ” ( the most pelle ever talks is when it’s about his children, anything regarding them will usually cause him to ramble and go on for a while, almost always knocking the wind out of him and leaving him with heavy breaths )

୨୧ but seriously, pelle just cannot get enough of seeing your two children play together… every time he sees them running around the garden together, cuddling up on the couch and watching a cartoon together or even when they have a simple childish squabble over something small and stupid… it all just makes him smile, it makes a strong warmth overtake his heart, his mind becoming overwhelmed with memories of doing the same with his own siblings when he was a child, memories once buried and trapped under so much sadness and emptiness

♡ morning is now a favourite time for pelle, such a difference from a couple years ago when he was kind of a nothing person, he never really preferred any time of day because he never had much to look forward to… but now, he just loves the morning! mainly because he thinks you looks so beautiful in the morning, your hair slightly messy and frizzy, wearing only the clothes you find the most comfortable as you prepare breakfast for your children!

୨୧ whilst pelle used to stray away from much physical touch, now, he reaches for it! he enjoys holding your hips from behind as your prepare breakfast, slouching down slight to rest his chin atop your shoulder, turning his head slightly to pepper light kisses on your cheek and down your neck, smiling against your skin when you laugh softly and tilt your head back to press a deep kiss against his lips before you have to slightly push him away from the kiss to actually be able to finish breakfast, smiling back at him and telling him to go see his babies

♡ and that he does, he parts from you with a final lingering kiss on your head before he walks out of the kitchen and into the living room where your two children are sitting up on the couch, both in their fluffy pyjamas and hair as messy as yours whilst their eyes are glued to a cartoon playing on the tv… he smiles slightly as he approaches them before sitting on the couch in between them, both children perking up from their previously sleepy state when they set eyes on their father, immediately scooting over and going to cuddle into him as he wraps an arm around each of them and mumbles quietly

“ morning… you hungry? both of you, i hope… breakfast is nearly ready ” ( his voice is already quiet and soft but in the morning? even more so! it’s the perfect voice to hear in the morning, so soft spoken and gentle as he speaks to them, planting a soft kiss on each of their heads as they both fall back into a sleepy state curled up into his side )

୨୧ when your son gets a little older, he only begins to look even more like his father! his blue eyes shining even stronger with pigment and blonde hair growing brighter in the sun

♡ speaking of his hair, he absolutely wants to keep it long, just like his father! you mentioned maybe giving him a haircut once and he almost threw a tantrum, he would have thrown a tantrum if pelle wasn’t there to soothe him and assure him you wouldn’t cut all of his hair off… all whilst your daughter was giggling up a storm behind him because of how whiny her brother was being, only causing pelle to crack a small smile at the sound of her high pitched laughter

୨୧ the fact of pelle being able to stop tantrums is something that runs a lot deeper than just that though…

♡ your son very quickly became a major daddy’s boy and absolutely loves pelle, they form an extremely strong father - son bond, pelle overcoming all of his fears he had and having the most immensely loving relationship with your son, pelle is usually the only person who can ever soothe your son when he’s upset or angry, neither of you really know why or how, the two of them just clicked so deeply and have such an unbreakable soul bond

୨୧ pelle absolutely loves making your children little pieces of jewellery and knick knacks out of animal bones! obviously he makes sure to clean them super well before giving it to them… but things like little necklaces or bracelets? he could make them all day, making matching ones for you and the children, maybe making himself one too

♡ not to mention if your children ever really get into drawing? likely influenced by always seeing him drawing and doodling in his sketchbook, just wanting to do something that their father also does and so obviously loves, his children are basically his shadow, they want to do everything they see him doing which never fails to make you laugh as you watch their wide and curios eyes watch him

୨୧ and he will gladly teach them both how to draw! he doesn’t think he’s the greatest teacher but as you watch him take them both onto his lap, steadying one of his children on each knee as he slightly bounces his knees to create a soothing rhythm, talking quietly down to them as he teaches them one at a time, his pale hand coming down to hold and guide their much smaller one, showing them how to hold the pencil properly and how to create shading, all whilst his children are just beaming as they spend time with him and pelle has a small smile of his on his face… yeah, you beg to differ about him thinking he isn’t a beyond great teacher

♡ pelle just still can’t really believe that he, of all people, has a family let alone two children who only ever see a side of him that no one else does, pelle might not be perfect but he has two children with the love of his life, two children who actually want to be like him when they grow up, two children who only see him for what he truly is and that alone is what makes life worth living for pelle… just you and his babies <3

Only 3 people asked so heres my little theory between Kenshi and Takeda 😋

ok so my gay little theroy is that Takeda is still Kenshi's son BUTT instead of leaving takeda with Kuai/ Scorpion, He leaves him with Harumi so he can go after the yaukuza n stuff (harumi being a close friend of Suchin/Kenshi in my little headcanon). Takeda being left with Harumi when he was about 4 or 5 growing up with her (and seeing her as a mother figure kinda how Takeda saw Hanzo as a father figure in mkx). Also i have a hunch that Kenshi was probs a teen dad idk why tho it justs the aura .I'd also like to make small theroy that Kenshi just forgot about him atp and is mostly focused on defending Earthrealm than freeing his family from the yakuza (based off kenshi's ending lmao) Once the Shirai ryu formed (i'd say Takeda is like 10 by now) Kuai and Tomas train him up until he's 13. Then thats when they little whitewashed emo boy Hanzo comes along whos (imo) around 7. Hanzo and Takeda get along very quickly (This is how the whole "Hanzo sees you as a brother" dialogue kinda makes sense) and have a strong brotherly bond. eventually Takeda finds out abt his dad's whereabouts is flabbergasted on how he can abandon his family like that so Takeda takes the job to save his family from the yakuza (hint to his dedication from dialougue w/ Lui) . Leaving the Shirai ryu around 15. After 9 years (he's canonically 24 in mk1 i think) he's just a traumatized man trying to find out where the yakuza is up to in shit, BUTT when he met's up with Kenshi for 20-19 years, Takeda pretty much disowns him as a father kinda how he did in mkx (except bro never came back ever 💀). Becuase of this Takeda and Kenshi both agree to say they're both distant cousins. (Li Mei: "You and Kenshi are --"Takeda: "Cousins - Distant Cousins."). But ofc not everyone belives them (PM: "Takahashi? You related to that Kenshi guy?" T: "Are you blind? Can't you see the resemblance?") Leading to a lot of them to be confused behind their relationship with eachother and that the fact they had the same goal (like father like son lmao) it's not healthy due to the abandoment but they still look out for one another it's cute in a way that kenshi is still somewhat a caring dad in this timeline 🥲. Despite this Takeda still looks up to Kenshi (kinda obvious). He yearns for the father son bond he never got with him (proving my point a little on why Takeda is like so curious about Kenshi. Takeda: "Is Kenshi different since being blinded?" Kung Lao: "It's sharpened his edge."). The only part that kinda throws off this theory is some of the actual dialogue between Takeda and Kenshi 😭 . My only guess was that Takeda was exposed to some of the Yakuza thinking it was cool and epic before Kenshi said “nah we gonna do our own thing” and a little of the whole thing where Takeda says how the shirai ryu changed him and Kenshi just goes “👍” BUTT!!!!!! Another thing I would like to mention is the dialogue between Geras and Takeda ; Geras: "Your bond with Kenshi is crucial to your future." Takeda: "I won't force it, Geras." THIS THIS DIALOGUE ONLY LEADS ME TO BELIVE THAT TAKEDA AND KENSHI ARE GONNA ACTUALLY SPLIT UP. LIKE FULL ON NO CONTACT. AUGHH I LOVE THAT ME WHEN CHARACTERS WITH BAD RELATIONSHIPS WITH THEIR PARENTS (im hooked) again this is only my theory…a game theory!!! ok bye

So I’ve been inactive for a tad second, honestly How To Train your Dragon caught my eye and I’ve left TFP on the drying rack for a week or two. So to keep myself active and get back in the transformers mood, I’ve come up with some stuff about the kids. Their home life, some Headcanons, and just about them.

So let’s learn about the kids!!

Jack Darby is up first! Jack is the oldest of the teens, though he’s yet to hit even his young adult years. He’s a 17 year old teen. Tall and lanky, he stands around 6’7. At this point taller than his mom and even Fowler. Kids at his school often joke that he is emo, due to his tendencies to wear darker and baggier clothes. Also there’s the fact that he hasn’t cut his hair for awhile and it grew out. For the longest time he’d let his hair just fall over his face, only recently did he start pulling it back into a bun. He’s considered the quiet kid at school and around town. He doesn’t talk much, tends to stay home when he can, and rarely does he allow his emotions to show. He’s quite to a point that most kids at his school thinks he’s mute, only a few people know he’s not.

•Jack doesn’t have a dead beat dad, he just has a dead one.

•He likes drawing, he and Miko bond over it. He prefers realism, and neutral colors

• he has a thing for short more rounded women (hint at how Sierra’s gonna look ;)

•He’s interested in history and has an extreme curiosity that cannot be quenched!

•Jack has tendency’s to panic over those around him, always stressed about someone.

•unfortunately he’s also dealing with some mental issues (ones that we’ll have to learn about on the way.)

Miko Nakadi is up next! Miko is a young Japanese teen, she’s eccentric and loud. Standing at only 5 feet, and is 16 years old. Nothing seems to bother her, and she’s seems to have distaste for authority. This is due to her life in Japan. Miko grew up on a boat, raised by fishermen. They weren’t her bio family, though they still took her in. For most of her life in Japan she was raised on the water, not even going to a public school. These fishermen influenced most of who she is. They’re loud and enthusiastic, always encouraging her to be her real self. That combined with her little interaction with those her own age and others that lived in Japan, she has no fear to show herself. Unfortunately due to an accident on the sea, Miko got injured, permanently leaving some health issues. Due to this accident the local authorities deemed that she wasn’t raised in a safe environment and took her away, this left a bad taste of authority’s in her mouth. Eventually she managed to get enrolled in a exchange student program and was sent to America.

•She has no idea who her bio family is and doesn’t want to know.

•like Jack she loves drawing, though she prefers a more fantasy setting with bunches of colors.

•she has yet to know her type, though seems to be very open when it comes to sexuality.

•she struggles when it comes to understanding danger, as she’s been introduced to a considerably large amount of it since she was young. She also struggles understanding people and their emotions, due to not being around many.

•other than her health issue, Miko was diagnosed with Autism at a young age, and she believes that she has some ADHD.

•She loves music, especially rock and metal. If it’s loud, it’s fun. (She’s mostly deaf, having to wear hearing aids) she loves to play instruments, and has an easy time picking up on how to learn them.

Rafael Esquivel is our final one of the main trio. At 12 years old he’s only 4 1/2 feet. He’s a child prodigy, practically skipping middle school and most of elementary school. Soon it’s believed he’ll be able to go to college. He’s from a Hispanic family, a large one, having 10 siblings. Raf is from a family of geniuses, his parent both being engineers, and his sibling all aiming for high grades and phd’s. Since he was young, Raf loved to absorb knowledge. He read as many books as he could, took a lot of notes, always asked his siblings to teach him all they know. So his older sister taught him coding, while her twin taught him how to hack. One of his older brothers showed him how to start in the engineering field, often giving him little projects to build and learn from. His other siblings will teach him about biology and chemistry, despite him not being as interested in those fields. Then theirs his eldest brother, he makes sure everyone is taken care of in their parents place, always making sure that a break is taken. He also make sure that Raf keeps an open mind.

•His parents are rarely home, always on the job and making sure their family has enough to live a comfortable life. Their eldest son became the primary caretaker of the house, after Raf’s Abuela passed.

•He doesn’t show much interest in doing art like the other two, but he does enjoy the beauty of it. Especially since one of his aunt’s constantly shows him the beauty of the world.

•He’s too young and too into his education to even think about sexuality and romance. Even though one of his brothers is into psychology and sociology and is especially all about romance.

•Since he’s been so focused on learning and not socializing, his only friends are his siblings, he moved too quick through school too actually get to know kids his age. Sure the older kids treat him well in school, but they’ve never been friendly.

•His family believes that he has autism (I know a stereotype) but they’ve never diagnosed him or put him on any medications.

•other than his love for engineering, computers, and science, Raf has shown to be interested in a few other things. He loves reptiles and other little critters. He especially loves gaming and racing in games or with toy cars. He’s also shown an interest in archeology, especially since his uncle is an Archeologist, and gave him a necklace with a claw fossil attached to it.

That’s all I’m going to share for now, I feel like it’s best to learn about them as we go through the story. I also wanna mention that Jasper will be much more alive, bringing in more human characters and rounding out the few we get to see. Jack and Vince will still be rivals (it’s mostly one sided, Vince can’t handle Jack’s quite self.) sierra will have more to her than just being Jack’s small crush. Her friend will go through a race change and will have a twin, her family will also be the one fostering Miko. There will also be more characters introduced, you will just have to wait to meet them.

The grandfather clock down the hall chimed twelve times. Its loud gong echoed throughout the tiny home, louder each time it struck. It was already noon, but that mattered not to Casey. She pulled a pillow over her head, hoping to muffle the offensive noise, but it was too loud, and her attempt failed miserably. Didn’t the damn clock understand? Sleep was the only place she could hide nowadays. The only place where her heart, body, mind, and soul found as much as a kernel of respite. And this offensive object thought nothing of stealing it away. She struggled to sit up, having decided she’d have to face the day at some point. Besides, Sienna’s couch wasn’t all that comfy anyway.

“It’s a difficult time,” her mother would say. “But you’ll get through it. You’re strong! You can do this!”

And it wasn’t only her mother. Well-meaning friends offered up unsolicited advice and platitudes daily. Sometimes sharing their own stories of personal triumph to convince her she possessed what it took to make it through. On the best days, Casey smiled politely, and on the worst, she walked away. She didn’t need them to tell her she had what it took. She knew she was strong; she knew she’d survive. But she didn’t want to be strong… she wanted to be loved… and to love in return. She wanted to turn back the hands of time and pray for a different outcome, one that didn’t leave her heart torn in two. But the clock couldn’t do that for her; all it could do was rob her of the only peace she had left.

Somehow she managed to sit upright but had no plans of getting up. She stared blankly out the window, watching the sunlight poke through the new leaves covering the trees. Spring. Rebirth. This was usually her favorite time of year, but now there was little joy to be found.

Sienna poked her head in from the hall; her heart ached to see her friend so forlorn. Most days, she wondered if she’d ever get the old Casey back. But she wasn’t giving in. No, she was determined to get her best friend back on her feet, and sometimes, that required tough love. She walked across the room with conviction and firmly poked Casey on the shoulder.

“It’s afternoon now, you. How about getting up? You should get showered and dressed.”

“Why?” Casey groaned, pulling the blanket up over her head.

“Because it will make you feel better. Come on, we can do whatever you want, my treat! We can get lunch, or go shopping, take a long walk? Oh! I know! We can go to one of those places where you get drunk and throw axes at things! That’s what we should do!” 

Casey lowered the blanket just a bit, and Sienna was delighted to see a hint of a grin on her face.

“That would be the opposite of good, my friend. Trust! You don’t want to be around drunken Casey with sharp objects right now.”

“Why not?” Sienna shrugged. “I have nothing to fear. I thought places like that were practically made for people going through your situation.”

“Maybe for some,” Casey smiled sadly, “but not for me.”

“Perhaps not, but your approach is sleeping on my couch until mold overtakes your body isn’t working either,” Sienna scolded. “I’m done coddling you. You need to rejoin the land of the living, and not only when Kyle’s around. Come on! You need to come to.”

“I will,” Casey sighed grievously. “I just… I wish this week was over already. I just want it in the rearview mirror.”

Sienna’s demeanor softened, and she took her friend into her arms.

“I know,” Sienna whispered, her mind rushing back to the day she stood next to Casey as the beaming couple exchanged their vows. No one ever thinks it will end up here. “I can only imagine how hard this is, but each day will get you a little further to healed, right?”

“Huh,” Casey snorted, pulling away and sitting up straight. “Yeah, right. In three days, I get the privilege of entering a courtroom, looking at the only man I’ve ever loved in his eyes, and signing a paper that essentially says that the life we spent over a decade building together was all for shit.”

“Casey,” Sienna consoled, “you know that’s not true!”

“Isn’t it?”  She jumped to her feet. “Isn’t it, though? Congratulations, Dr. Carrick…oh, and you, Dr. Almost Not Carrick Anymore! You’ve given your blood, sweat, and tears for this… you gave your heart, and your soul, and your… everything… and it wasn’t enough. You gave it all, and it was all for shit!”

“It was not for shit! You have….”

“Don’t say, Kyle! I know our son is a blessing and, yes, I know he wouldn’t be here if….” Casey covered her mouth and swallowed hard only to gather herself, for there was no way of holding back tears. “… I couldn’t even give my baby a good home,” she sniveled. “I failed at everything.”

“OK, now you need to stop! A marriage takes two people, Casey; you didn’t end up here alone! And you’re not a failure! Marriage is hard! That’s why half of them fail! Besides….”

“Si,” Casey interrupted. “I know you mean well, but….”

“I’ll stop,” she acquiesced, motioning for Casey to join her on the couch. Once there, she laced her fingers with her friends and gave them a tight squeeze. Casey smiled softly, remembering how many times that tiny hand held onto her and got her through.

“Do you want me to take Wednesday off? I’ll go to court with you if you want. You shouldn’t be alone.”  

“No, Si, I appreciate it,” she smiled sadly. “But this is something I must do alone. Don’t worry. I’ll make it through.”  

“I know I was harping on you to go out today, but we can stay in if you want. I’ll order pizza and get a bottle of wine. We can watch movies about women who killed their husbands and got away with it.”

Casey let out a sharp cackle, holding her side as laughter overtook her. Sienna thought she was home free… but within seconds, the laughter turned into tears.

“Si, I didn’t want this,” she wailed.

“I know,” Sienna replied. She held her friend closed and stroked her hair, wishing she had the magic to make her happy again. “I know you didn’t.”

“No, you don’t understand. It’s not past tense, and I’m not being theoretical. I don’t want my marriage to be over.”  

“Case, what are you saying?”

“I’m saying that I still love Tobias. I don’t think I’ll ever love anyone else, and I don’t want to go through with this.”

Sienna was dumbfounded. “Casey… I know this is becoming real, and it’s got to be so painful, but you said… you said this was what you wanted?”

Casey looked at Sienna quizzically, a nervous chuckle in her chest as she shook her head.

“I’m not. This isn’t something to take lightly. This is a divorce! This is final, and if you’re uncertain, you have to let Tobias know.”

“Sienna, I may have been the one who filed… but he’s the one who told me our marriage was over. He’s the one who said we’d be better apart. I pulled the plug, but he set it all in motion. He doesn’t want to be married… at least not to me… and I can’t grovel for him to tell me that one more time.”

Sienna’s face twisted, and she bit her lip to prevent herself from saying any more. But she and Casey were two peas in the same pod, they knew each other too well, and Casey could almost feel the words her best friend wouldn’t say.

“What? What do you want to say?” She ordered.

“Case… you guys have been through so much in recent years. So much, and… ever since….”

“You can say it, Si, ever since my miscarriage.”

“I’m just saying it was a lot for anyone. Maybe you both just needed more time….”

“The miscarriage was hell, but in its aftermath… that’s when we learned how different we wanted our futures to be.”  

“If that’s true, then why second guess your decision now?”  

“Because I realize that I jumped the gun. I was being as stubborn as he was and unwilling to compromise. And a marriage takes compromise. If I had a chance to do it all again, I would have handled things so differently, and the outcome may have been the same, but I would have done more and tried harder. We were… we were worth it.”  

“If you really feel that way… then you have to tell him.”

“I can’t….”

“Yes, you can! What do you have to lose? You’re getting divorced Wednesday. The only way there is a change that changes is if you talk to him.”

“Sienna! I can’t do it again. Do you know how it felt to hear him tell me we’re through? To see him look at me like I was a stranger. I can’t be vulnerable again. I can’t hand him my heart to let him smash one more time.”

“Huh,” Casey laughed ruefully. “He’s not. Trust me, he’s not.” Her mind drifted to his friends who he had been leaning on since things changed between them. Casey wasn’t a fan, and they returned the sentiment. Especially one friend… that’s likely where he was.

Sienna sighed in frustration and threw her hands in the air. “When is he due to pick up Kyle?”

“Tomorrow night. Why?”

“Why? Because I’ll be there when he arrives. Kyle and his favorite aunt can do something together, so the two of you can talk!”

“Sienna! I appreciate you, but all that’s left is our signatures. We had a thousand chances, and we blew everyone.”

“So then don’t blow this one. Because you still have one chance left, Casey. I don’t want to see you live with the regret of not taking it. You have one more chance.”

Now after seeing the *cough* 18+ stuff, I wonder if you have just sweet, wholesome headcanons of Nadia. I have one, tho very specific: Nadia is not really used to physical affection or talking with people 20 years younger than her but when she met the younger sibling of MC she made them feel like the most special person in the world (platonically) and everytime they would hug in greetings and goodbyes, Nadia cradles their head and it melts the kiddo's heart and MC's when they noticed.

Nadia is such a sweet person, and your headcanons melted my heart 😭

And I completely agree that she is not really used to interacting with such young people. No one said anything about her siblings having children, and since Nadia is still called the baby princess, she's the ultimate youngest Satrinava. And well, people in their late 30s/early 40s and people in their 20s/teens are two entirely different worlds, and our dear Countess knows that. That's why she was probably nervous as hell before meeting MC's younger sibling. But, of course, we're talking about Nadia, so it went extremely well, and the head cradling part is just incredibly wholesome. I wish she would do that to me. I imagined her doing it to my younger brother, but I quickly perished the thought because he's like twice her size. And he's a little bitch, so, Nadi, put my head to your tiddies instead.

As for the physical affection part, I have to agree with you again. She isolated herself during her marriage to Lucio, so there was definitely no affection of any kind. While living in Prakra, she mentioned in her tale that she had some distant crushes, so I think she has never had any proper romantic relationships before meeting MC, only a few physical ones. She also had trouble making friends or at least keeping those friends because everyone thought that her siblings were much cooler. She really needs a hug.

Nadia Satrinava headcanons

Nadia was a timid child, hiding behind her mother's skirt type. She was quite insecure, sometimes stuttered, never really had friends, and always blushed and avoided eye contact until she became a young adult. Then, with a lot of hard work, she turned herself into the strong woman she is now.

If MC has a younger sibling, it helps her grow as a person. She can finally become the older sister she never had, and baby the kiddo would be spoiled to death. In addition, it would help her see things from her siblings' perspective and potentially bring the Satrinavas even closer. Being an older sibling is a whole job; this younger sibling would help Nadia realize it.

An MC who is the eldest of their siblings can be an interesting experience for her too. She always pays attention to how MC treats their younger family members, and a part of her might wish she had an older sibling like MC.

Nadia has never held a baby. Ever.

When she is with MC, and they make her laugh very hard, she sometimes snorts and then covers her mouth. She apologizes, but it's just so cute. Only MC sees her like that.

Sometimes she zones out during meetings.

If MC can cook, Nadia subtly hints that she would like them to cook for her. She would help them, but it's not a very good idea. A sandwich is the best she can do.

Nadia is a great listener. She's not the best at giving emotional support, but this woman can come up with the most amazing logical solutions.

Sometimes she really wants (and needs) to be held, but she might be a little shy when asking for it. Putting her head on MC's chest and listening to their heartbeat is one of her favorite things in the world.

She thinks about MC all the time when they're not together.

Even when things are not exactly perfect between Nadia and MC, she stands up for them against anyone who dares to disrespect them.

Nadia loves physical affection; she just didn't know it until she met MC. From the moment she first saw MC, she was dying to touch them, and it was very surprising to her. Nadia is not used to a lover's gentle and loving touch, but she has secretly longed for it her whole life.

Her love languages are giving gifts and physical touch. She melts when MC gives her hugs for no reason, simply because they love her.

Nadia likes cheesy romance novels and has a hidden bookshelf filled with them.

She giggles and smiles whenever she looks at something that MC gave her.

As a child, whenever Nadia played alone (so most of the time), she made up stories in her head about the toys she was playing with.

Nadia is very independent, but it warms her heart when MC offers to help her with something. She could really use a hand once in a while, and while she wouldn't ask MC to take over some of her Countess duties, if they offer, she doesn't turn them down.

She dies of happiness whenever MC shows interest in her hobbies.

She was definitely a daddy's girl as a child. Her amazing fashion sense comes from Namar, and there's no doubt about it.

It's probably no secret, but Nadia is kind of an obsessive type of lover. She wouldn't rob MC of their freedom or control their life for them, but she would do anything for them. They're the light of her life, and she wants to share everything with them. So yeah, she can be a little clingy.

She secretly wishes to be a random rich woman without all the Countess duties so that she could spend her whole life spoiling and loving MC.

Nadia is extremely intelligent and talented in many things. She is interested and educated in almost every subject. Mathematics, Physics, History, Geography, and languages are her favorites, but she also enjoys the arts, such as music. Biology is not really her thing, tho, but she knows some basics.

For Nadia, loving MC is like being a teenager again. They bring out her carefree, playful side.

She gives long, soft, and very warm hugs, the kinds that make you want to melt in her arms.

It might be surprising, but Nadia doesn't think highly of herself. She is aware of her beauty, rank, and knowledge, but as a person, she feels like she's not someone interesting. She never had any close relationships, and she thinks the problem lies within her. Therefore, when MC is very much in love with her, it gives her a huge confidence boost.

I crave some brotherly shenanigans, so have some Diluc and Kaeya headcanons.

We all know how much Kaeya loves summer. Soaking up the sun, sandcastles, swimming and all that fun stuff. In contrast, Diluc loves winter. As a kid he loved snowmen, curling up with books in a pillowfort in front of the fireplace, drinking hot coco. Crepus would take the boys ice skating every year.

They were both a nightmare to deal with on road trips, especially when they were very little. Despite Crepus best attempts to pack up all sorts of toys and activities to do, even the most well behaved siblings can only sit in a carriage for so long before boredom takes hold. Kaeya would always go, "I'm not touching you" "yes you are!" Or Diluc would start throwing toys to make some terrible game of catch. They had to make a lot of stops for them to get that energy out.

Despite how rich they were, Crepus wanted them to have good work ethic, so he had weekly chores for them to do. Mostly things like keeping their rooms tidy so the maids have less to do when they deep clean. Help count the wine stock. Go to springvale to pick up meat for dinner. Sweeping the stairs. Etc. Kaeya preferred doing the ones where was with people more. Like going to shops or helping the maids, mostly because he always overheard the juicy stories. Meanwhile Diluc liked the more outdoorsy chores, like picking grapes and fixing stuff. He was a very hands on kid.

Kaeya is the younger of the two, but he hit that growth spurt first when they were around 12/13. And loved to tease Diluc about how he's the big brother now.

They would sneak down to the kitchen at night for snacks all the time.

Diluc was still pretty young when he got his vision. Of course the first thing they did was see what they could set on fire. Kaeya suggested trying to defeat the cryo slimes that were always down by the river. That didn't work. They were chased all the way into the mansion with singed grass in their wake.

Kaeya has always been the more fashionable of the two. In their teens, Diluc asked Kaeya to help him figure out what looked good on him.

Plenty of staff members had children of their own, some even lived on the winery grounds in the staff lodgings. The brothers were friends with all the kids around their age and every other week was some sort of slumber party.

Diluc was excited to have another kid in the house with him when Crepus first took Kaeya in. He did his best to make the boy feel welcome, from sharing all this toys and reading his books with him. Even introducing him to all the other kids.

They started sword fighting lessons as kids. Crepus hired the best instructor available in Mondstadt for his boys. And what do these two do on the first day with the wooden practice swords? Beat the shit out of each other. The instructor had their work cut out for them.

Even in adulthood with their strained relationship, they never actually try to cut contact with each other. Neither one of them is ready for that. After all, they are each others only family left.

They still gift each other on their birthdays. Diluc usually let's Kaeya drink for free, or gets him something practical. Kaeya will get Diluc something like an accessory he knows Diluc would like but likely wouldn't buy for himself.

Kaeya likes to mess with Diluc by telling Donna when he's working the bar, with a subtle hint of what color and fragrance he likes. Then laughs from the sidelines as he watches Diluc try to politely avoid her.

Despite all of their fighting, if there is a common goal or enemy, watch out. If you have ever seen Lucifer, the scene where "I know who did this." "I'll drive." That vibe.

All their old toys and games are still in the winery packed away. It is a common thing to argue about. "Diluc I want my trading cards back." "First of all, they are our cards, second if you want them so bad come get them." "Excuse you, who put in the work to collect them?" "Not you, that's for sure." They can go on for hours on that alone.

Demetri was Eli's only "safe person" for a really long time, so of course threatening him will put Eli on edge and make him feel like he's not safe.

And Kyler calling Eli "Lip" basically confirms he's trying to tap into the weak-willed, bullied kid he was before karate--which, of course, he does by reminding Eli how he used to push around him and the only person he had in his corner back then.

Anyways, all that to say Kyler knows Dem and Eli's relationship is deep and long-standing enough that threatening Dem could be enough to completely break Eli, just as Eli was starting to build himself back up again

It's incredibly fucked up!!! But also a testament to how close Demetri and Eli were back in the day, if Kyler was able to like...exploit their bond to try and destroy Eli's confidence and be that frighteningly precise and successful with it

Okay okay okay okay so as angry as I am about H*wkM**n I do find it absolutely hysterical that Moon said the exact same thing to Eli that Demetri did, but Moon got to kiss him because she's a girl, and ya know. Something something comphet.

We've never gotten ANY indication that Moon would be into Eli's nerdier and substantially less "cool" side

And these two barely fucking interacted all season, aside from Moon complimenting Eli's hair once. We seriously have no evidence at all that she was romantically interested in the more authentic, laid-back purple-haired Hawk, and not just like...projecting cocky, macho S1-S2 Hawk onto him. Since, y'know, that not-entirely-genuine Hawk/Eli is the one she was interested in. And now, she's ever so conveniently interested in this new version of Eli after, uhhhh...talking to him a couple times and taking pity on him after he's sad at the tournament, I guess???

ALSO I want to point out that Moon has shown absolutely NO romantic interest in Eli since they broke up, like

Literally when does she EVER indicate she has lingering feelings, or might be interested in rekindling the relationship??? She's actively annoyed with him in S3, and in S4 she doesn't really treat Eli any differently than Demetri or Miguel

And no, complimenting his hair does not fucking count as showing romantic interest, she was literally just being polite???

It read like a completely platonic interaction to me--as I've mentioned before, I think any awkwardness is easily chocked up to them being exes and, as Hawk outright said, they're "just getting used to being friends again"

Emphasizing that since S2, she has not treated Hawk any different than Demetri and Miguel

Except in S3 when, you know. She actively disliked him.

Also she completely fucking ignored him at the prom to hang out with Demetri and Yasmine, just throwing that out there

Oh god oh fuck oh no one more episode of the Stupid Karate Show to review and then I gotta make a huge monster masterpost about how S5 should go

With the recent confirmation that we'll get to see more of Yunan and Olivia in season 3, I thought it would be nice to give a little rundown of a certain idea I had for a story prior to the trailer. Will I ever go through it, maybe not. For one thing, I have so many ideas that I want to do on AO3 so some things may have to be sacrificed. Not only that, but despite the episodes having a limited runtime, thus having less depth, it's likely going to turn out better than what I put out. That and it would be less convoluted. So here's a bullet list of the idea:

The working title for the fanfic is called Lady and the Newt. I wanted to go with Lady and the Merc or Lady and the General, though the former didn't made sense since Yunan is not a Mercenary. Also since it's a Disney show, I thought it would be funny to make the title a tongue-and-cheek reference to Lady and the Tramp.

The best way to describe this story is 2 lesbians on the run. There's also a butch and her daughter but we're not there yet.

Obviously, this would take place after True Colors, but based on the clips I've seen, it would've been drastically different.

For starters, it would begin with Olivia and Yunan trying to find a way to escape Newtopia. While Yunan is more concerned about finding a way out, Olivia didn't want to leave Marcy behind. At the same time, Yunan is also reluctant, albeit in denial, of wanting to go back there since she felt betrayed by both Andrias and Marcy, despite the latter being a child who was just being manipulated.

However, Olivia feels like she's complacent in letting this all happened, so she wanted to back there for the sake of ridding herself of that guilt. In other words, the both are still shooken up about the whole revelation.

They would eventually escape, but it will be a hollow victory.

This would be the first time we get to see Yunan without her armor. She took most of it off when trying to save an unconscious Olivia from drowning. By the time they set up camp, she will chuck her medals into the river in anger. She does keep the claws since they might come in handy, but other than that, she's completely vulnerable.

The fanfic would explore on the aspect about the expectations and pressure that Newtopia places on its society and how Yunan and Olivia were both affected by this mentality. Yunan ran away from home when she was in her teens because of her strained relationship with her family (Something that I will get into later on) and how due to being found by Andrias was she able to show off her skills that would work her way up to the ranks and then eventually the youngest general in the army, Scourge of the Sand Wars, Defeater of Ragnar the Wretched, yada yada yada. However, you would see why her family relationship was dysfunctional due to the infighting with her sister and mother who just happened to be a famous artisan (hint hint). Prior to becoming general, she felt like she had nothing to show for and that being a part of the court made her felt like she was special. But the problem is that she feels like she's nothing without the rank. So while Yunan constantly introduces herself because it's effective, it's also because that's all she has.

Olivia, on the other hand, didn't want to be a part of the court. The only reason she has that title in the first place was because her family already had connections to Andrias's so she was basically forced into the role. Royalty never particularly interest her but because she was so ingrained into the role, she ended up living a very isolated life. It's why she has a very stoic demeanor. Only when there's nothing else to do does she masks off the whole facade after keeping appearances for a whole day. During the night after they escape, she would lament about where it all went wrong.

There would be a retcon where Olivia originally planned on running away from Newtopia and she wanted Yunan to come with her. But with the combination of Yunan's commitment to the general rank, taking care of Marcy Wu, and then the events that soon follow, it never came to be. Olivia wondered if going through with that decision would've only make things worse.

There would be flashback chapters where we get to see the dynamics between the newts and the 13 year old girl. Any one of them involving Yunan would be an explanation as to why she initially felt betrayed by Marcy's actions. It's only later on in the story did she reconcile with those feelings.

Most of the story consist of them trying to get far away from Newtopia as possible, all while the fear of Marcy's fate lingers. In tale of dramatic irony, they assume that she may have escaped along with the others. But once they found refuge at Wartwood, they notice that Sasha was the only that's still here. That's when they figured the out news. Again, dramatic irony.

So that thing I mention about how there's also a butch and her daughter in this story, well here's what I mean. Priscilla and Pearl are the additional characters in this journey. The reason for their inclusion is because I had a particular subplot in mind. I loved the headcanon of Priscilla being Yunan's older sister because the potential dynamic makes so much sense. During their childhood, they were both competing for their mother's love, despite the fact that she didn't want them to fight. So due to jealously and the strained sibling relationship, it prompted Yunan to run away.

On an unrelated note, you can check out my poem fanfic on AO3 called O' Sister Of Mine. It explores the dynamic between Priscilla and Yunan as siblings.

The entire subplot would be about Yunan and Priscilla trying to repair their sibling relationship after years of fighting and not seeing each other. When her and Olivia cross paths with the two of them, Priscilla initially rejected their offer of going together. Because of Yunan and Olivia's status, she was worried that it was not only going to put a target on her back, but also her daughter's, which is the last thing she wants. But since they can't stay in one spot, they have no choice but to go together.

I think by looking at the pattern of where this story is going, the entire lesson is about not taking things for granted and being the change you want to be. The three girls may be the main focus of the show, but this fanfic explores on the side characters who were affected by the events.

Well there you have it. This is mostly just a rough draft of ideas but it does get the main gist across. Like I said before, this likely isn't going to see the light of day, especially when Matt Braly's crew is going to come up with something better than I can. This is one of those big AO3 projects that I'll have to keep on the shelf, at least temporarily when I don't have a lot on my plate right now.

A few months before the incident in the todoroki household they decided to live in Germany. Shoto still keep in touch with the reader thru emails. When the reader once again arrived in Japan for a 6 month vacation Shoto wants to hang out with her just like before and confess his feelings for her. But the reader always tell Shoto that Deku is cute because of Deku's mumbling. So Shoto started to misunderstand that reader likes Deku and he told to himself that he is going to support the reader in that part but still the reader gives slight hint that she likes Shoto more than Deku. -It wasn’t fun being away from your friend, but you scratched that itch by exchanging emails with him as much as possible. He had revealed to you what was going on in his household, and it crushed your heart that you couldn’t be there for him.

-Still, you tried your hardest to help him and cheer him up in any way that you could, then one day, you felt a little hopeful about his situation.

-Todoroki started to tell you about his friend Midoriya, and how he helped him realize that, as he wrote it, ‘my power is my own.’ It did warm your heart to know that Shoto had someone there for him. Someone who seemed so kind and understanding.

Maybe I should have asked who her favorite hero is instead.” Midoriya started to mutter to himself, which you couldn’t help but to take amusement in.

-”Hey, hey, it’s alright!” you assured him with a smile.

-The rest of the time there, you all chatted and talked with one another before deciding to make your way to an arcade. You hung back to walk with Todoroki in order to speak with him alone. You were still so fascinated by Midoriya, since he did help out your best friend.

-”So, that Midoriya...Are you guys close?” you asked. Shoto looked over at you and nodded.

-”Yeah, he’s a good friend.”

-You felt a sense of relief to hear him say that, “He’s really cute, you know, with his muttering and all.” Yes, you found him to be very adorable.

-Shoto froze in his steps once he heard this. Did he hear right? He thought back on how much you had conversed with Midoriya at the cafe, and couldn’t help but to come to the conclusion that you were interested in him. Mirodiya was a good friend to him, but...Shoto liked you and had intended to let you know that.

-”Hey, you coming?” you asked. Todoroki snapped out of it before nodding and catching up with you.

-He wanted you to be happy. He really did. So this was hard for him. He also knew that if you did pursue Midoriya that it would take some getting used to.

-Shoto wanted to throw his hat in the ring, but he cared for you far too much to make this hard on you.

-”Oh come on, I thought winning the Sports’ Festival proved how fast you were,” you joked, giving Shoto a playful poke on his cheek. He didn’t seem to really read your intentions at all as he nodded slowly. “Why the face? Though I have to say you look attractive no matter what.” Seriously nothing was getting through to him.

-”You know...Midoriya is single,” Shoto finally said. It hurt him to say that, but he wasn’t going to get in the way. You, however, pouted at those words.

-”Wait, wait, I don’t like him like that,” you explained. Once again, Shoto prolonged this trip by stopping in his tracks.

-”You don’t?” he questioned. You let out a giggle, moving closer to him and holding onto both of his hands.

-”No, I don’t,” you smiled before leaning in and kissing Shoto on the cheek. If your words didn’t give him a hint, maybe that will.

-Shoto was absolutely stunned. He wasn’t even sure if he could move, but then he awkwardly coughed and said, “Uh...I’m single, too...”

-You couldn’t help but to be amused by this. “Next time, let’s go out alone...Like on a date, okay?” This earned you a bright smile from the two-toned hair teen.

-”I’d love that.”

ZFAW Fan Content Creator Interviews: HayleyNFoster

Hey everyone! We hope you’re all excited for ZFAW, and to honor (ha!) ZFAW’s commitment to supporting and celebrating fan content creators in the Zutara fandom, we’re going to be rolling out a series of interviews with well-known and widely-beloved content creators over the next few weeks. We’ve got artists and fanfiction authors, some names you recognize as well as a few phenomenal up-and-coming talents, and we can’t wait for you to meet them all!

For the second interview in this cycle, we have our best propaganda creator and this fandom’s hottest new artist/undisputed queen of the animatic, @hayleynfoster!

1. Tell us about how you came to ship Zutara. What does this ship mean to you?

When I was around 14 or 15 and caught Avatar: The Last Airbender on television, I was drawn in by the art style, the humor, and the wonderful characters. I caught the episodes out of order, and the first one I saw and wasn’t prepared to be sucked in by was The Waterbending Scroll. It intrigued me at that age, and the line “I’ll save you from the pirates” combined with the tension between Katara and Zuko in that whole scene was electrifying. I remember my teenage self thinking these two have so much chemistry! And when I saw a commercial on Nickelodeon that featured fanart submitted by fellow Avatar fans, I realized that I could do that to! So I set about making Zutara fanart for myself. I stumbled onto Youtube, practically in its infancy, and discovered that people set clips of Zuko and Katara set to music (And this was still in season 1 days… so people who made these amvs were the real mvps because they were able to make compelling narratives in their amvs with like practically nothing to work with!). The AMVs really spurred my interest in this couple, I remember distinctly one Zutara AMV using the Dido song White Flag utterly capturing my imagination. I found fandom shortly after, getting into deviantart and forums. But the ship really began to mean something to me when, as I was working on my drawings in the computer lab at school, a buoyant presence hovered over my shoulder noticing my Zutara art on the computer screen. The girl was someone I had never really talked to and had only seen from afar but she immediately started excitedly saying she shipped Zuko and Katara too! In this simple shared obsession, I made one of the best friends I’ve ever had and we’re still friends to this day. We would theorize and fangirl over Avatar like it was nobody’s business; we poured over bootleg San Diego Comic Con footage that showed spoilers for season 2 before it aired; we lost our freaking minds when we finally saw The Crossroads of Destiny. We had watch parties every week as Season 3 of A:TLA aired, and comforted each other when the show ended as it did (much ranting was shared). Those are some of my happiest memories from high school… all because this one pairing from this wonderful show. Even though Zutara didn’t happen, we still chat every now and then about it. Zutara will probably be a lifelong obsession, always bubbling under the surface. And without it, I would have never realized that animation was a viable career path. It really did inspire everything including the work I’m doing to this day in the animation industry. I owe a lot to this ship and to Avatar: the Last Airbender.

2. What inspires you to create zutara fanworks?

The resurgence of Avatar: The Last Airbender this year really helped sort of spark that dormant love I had for Zutara. The show’s ending still disappointed me on the rewatch, but Zuko and Katara’s relationship arc was as captivating as ever, so I turned to some fanfiction and looking at people’s pretty Zutara art and AMVs to just revel in fanon instead of getting to hung up on the actual ending of the show. But then I realized, with quarantine and my work load being pretty light, I had time to actually make all new Zutara art for myself, art I was never fully capable of making as a kid, but now could do with my 7 years of industry experience and just… life experience. And I was inspired to do some corrective animatics to satisfy my own desire for a different ending. I just really like exploring these two characters, doing different and interesting things with them, and frankly I’m inspired to make cute, fluffy, romantic art simply by virtue of living in a really sad and depressing world. Things are so crazy right now, creating art about two characters I love being in love, is comforting. And it helps to have inspiring music and amazing Zutara amvs to just sort of stir up my emotions and imagery in my head to make into animatics and art.

3. Be selfish - if you could request one fanwork based on your own art/fanfic, what would it be? What would you absolutely love to see someone create?

Ohhhh… Well, It’s always nice to have people write fanfiction that puts words to my animatics. I am not that great at coming up with dialog myself, so I’ve just chosen to indulge in visuals and emotions for my boards. But when I read things like RideBoldlyRide’s take on my Reunion Animatic, it makes me pretty giddy. (They finally have voices!) :) And this is the MOST selfish thing I could request, but I’m not shy about saying how much I love well done amvs, so I will literally kill for someone to make Zutara AMVs to songs I like… Like, most of AURORA’s songs but especially Exist for Love, Sunseeker by The Naked and Famous, Promises or Take Me by Aly & AJ, Adore You by Harry Styles, Human Enough by ONR, Never Let Me Go by Florence + The Machine, and/or Almost (Sweet Music) by Hozier just… I can see the AMVs so clearly to any of these songs in my head, but I don’t have the tools or skill set at my disposal to make a compelling fan video. When I was in high school, I originally thought I wanted to go into video editing simply because I loved making very crappy AMVs (they were so bad you guys), but I figured out being a storyboard artist was more in my wheelhouse. haha

4. Any words for people who are new to the fandom and/or nervous about sharing their work for the first time?

If you’re new to the Zutara fandom, just have a good time! Don’t waste too much time arguing with people over your shipping preferences. I wasted so much of my teen years having pointless shipping wars with people on DeviantArt, and I’m just so much happier nowadays because I’m just making Zutara art in my little corner of the internet, and honestly, in the politest of ways, I don’t give a shit if people don’t like my art or Zutara. haha I think that’s sort of a key thing for people thinking of posting creative works here in the fandom, just make art for yourself, satisfy your own desires for the pairing, get your creative sparks flying, and create just for the joy of creating. It’s always nice to get comments and such, but simply making the art should be what spurs you on, not the external validation. And have a good time, don’t worry too much - I say as someone who worries about EVERYTHING. But honestly, making art for A:TLA is some of the most relaxed I’ve been because I make it just for me. I’m lucky others seem to like it too!

5. What’s an idea for a fanwork that you have but haven't gotten around to making?

I have an idea for a second generation storyline with my Zutara kids that involves Kya (the eldest firebending daughter) falling in love with an airbender boy (tentatively named Gora in my headcanon who’s a bit of a rabble rouser and one of Aang’s kids he had with a Kyoshi Warrior), and then they start a socialist revolution in the Fire Nation in order to dismantle all of the hierarchical societies across the Avatar world… Together Kya and Gora Fan the Flames of revolution… ehhhhh... Get it?? Oh! Oh, and then Katara, who had put in legit liberal reforms in her time as Fire Lady listens to her daughter after resisting in the first part of the story, but then realizes she can actually play a part in the dissolution of the royalty and is also active in the revolution realizing that moderate liberal reforms are no substitute for a society free of serving royalty (which she had always been uncomfortable with but had rationalized with herself that she was doing good in her capacity as Fire Lady.) I just feel like there’s a lot of cool potential for discussing these ideas and also having some aspirational change in the Avatar world. lol For aesthetics and just happy fluffy times, I can indulge in Fire Lady and Fire Lord Zuko stuff, but really at the end of the day, I take issue with the structures in a society that have to exist for monarchies to exist. Soooo, I kind of want to do my own corrective story for that… if I ever have the time or guts. On a less ambitious note, I would love to do a Zutara sparring animatic to practice doing action, but I need a good story; I am not good at doing fights just for fighting’s sake. Those are just some things I have rattling around in my head.  

6. Are you participating in ZFAW? If so want to give us a hint as to your plans?

Yes! The most I can say is I have one animatic almost finished and one that’s still being thumbnailed. The rest are probably going to be comics or emotive single pieces based on the fanfics I really like right now. :)

HEADCANON   :    sirius    +     romance 

general disclaimer: as usual, there are all my own ideas and thoughts that i’ve poured into analysing sirius’s character and fleshing out my own portrayal. everything expressed in this post refers strictly to my sirius. this is not to say if we have opposing views, that there are any right or wrong ways of writing sirius and interpreting this side of him. 

when it comes to sirius, this is more or less the most difficult topic to broach and analyse given the fact that there is absolutely very little to no canon information or even hints to draw from and be inspired by. however, what we can do instead is take an in-depth look at sirius’s life and the environment he grew up in as well as the entourage he surrounded himself with later in life in order to clue us into what sirius’s understanding of romance was and how he approached it. 

environment

sirius didn’t grow up in the most outwardly loving environment. while it would be a lie to say that walburga and orion bIack didn’t love their sons infinitely, they didn’t have the most conventional ways to show it. as for romantic love, or any other kind of love outside of familial, in sirius’s environment that he might have been exposed to and influenced by, there really wasn’t a great deal of it. at least not fully displayed where sirius could see it. for the most part, his parents were not the affectionate type and they, in my view, were rather efficient parents who worked together to raise their children in the best way they saw fit. as far as sirius could see and gauge from them, their relationship was based more on their partnership and their love/loyalty for their family rather than anything pertaining to romance. 

sirius was also raised to value his family above all else, to trust that he will only ever have them to fall back on, that only they will have his back and that they will always be together through thick and thin. that is sirius’s understanding of love and those are the same concept that he carries with him when he meets the marauders and over the years they become his new family. 

sirius’s first impact with anything remotely romantic was watching his friends and the people around him at hogwarts begin to mature and develop feelings of such nature. he observed these feelings in james for any potential girls or people he might have been interested in before lily and then of course, for her. he started noticing when exactly conversations between children shifted their focus to relationships, girls, boys, little displays of affection, dates and other things that are to be expected of now teens. 

experience 

not a great deal. sirius never had any serious romantic relationships at hogwarts, nor did he venture into anything that required any type of attachment outside of his tight knit group of friends after graduation. being a very pragmatic and efficient individual, sirius prioritised the war and especially the responsibility of ensuing his friends and their loved ones’ safety and survival. likewise, at hogwarts, his priorities lay with his family and the marauders and due to the very delicate nature of the issues he struggled with throughout all his years in school, he never trusted anyone enough to let them into the fold of his peer group, nor did he feel naturally inclined to begin to harbour feelings for anyone who wasn’t as close to him as james, remus, and peter. 

he might have entertained the thought, once, and very briefly at that, around the same time that boys started talking exclusively about girls and dating around him and we know that at the very least girls were interested in sirius so there was never a shortage in offers. at most, i can see him talking to girls purely with the intention of being amicable and because throughout his childhood he was mostly surrounded by girls and therefore he understood and knew how to talk to them. he might have even tried hand-holding and kissing because it was what everyone was doing but being as non-committal as he was outside of the marauders and his family, nothing more than that ever happened. 

so... who then?

ultimately, i can only see sirius going against his nature that holds him back from feeling any romantic attraction towards anyone for someone remarkable. someone who will keep him on his toes, someone who challenges him in the best way possible to change and grow and develop and learn interesting things that captivate his attention, someone engaging and stimulating who has something positive to add to his life, not subtract from it. 

it can’t be anyone who makes it too easy for him or anyone who is too keen on him because you have to understand that sirius has childhood trauma that resulted in sirius’s belief that you have to work hard to earn someone’s love and affection and to meet certain standards. for sirius to be captivated and taken by someone, he needs that consistent push and pull, the ease of banter. in other words, someone with whom he can have the perfect roast to flirting ratio. bickering has to be conducted in a specific way, the other person has to be right otherwise it’s frustrating for him and indicative of the fact that he has nothing to learn from them, but they can’t be too right otherwise he will feel stupid. 

likewise, it has to be someone close to his tight knit group of friends or someone sirius sees the potential in to get along with them. if they don’t like any of his friends or they are feuding, it is absolutely grounds for sirius not to even pay them any mind. in other words, he wouldn’t even consider talking to someone, let alone deepening a bond, if that person did not love james, remus and peter equally. he isn’t a very trusting person by nature and he only ever fully trusted his family and his best friends therefore it would take a great deal for someone outside of sirius’s very small circle to earn his trust. 

conclusion

sirius wasn’t raised nor exposed to good and healthy examples of romantic love. the only kind of love he understands fully and extensively is familial love. at school, he never engaged in anything more than talking to girls, at most holding hands with someone and kissing as teens normally would but he never committed to anyone. after school, he prioritised the war effort, his and his loved ones’ survival and he didn’t understand the point in getting attached for fear of experiencing even more loss. for sirius to go against his nature and to fall in love, it would take a lot and the truth is, no one that truly captured his attention got to stumble into his life in the canon timeline.

So I recently read Killing Stalking over the course of two days. The first day was spent fleeing my home from flood waters and so I read the first half of the manwha on my phone in the parking lot of a grocery store. I was so absorbed in the story that I didn’t have time to worry about whether or not my house was washing away (it didn’t, and there was no damage, thanks for asking). I know I was pretty late to the party on this one, and it wasn’t because I wanted to avoid the series. To be honest it sounded like something I would love from the moment I heard about it, but at the time, I was busy and ended up forgetting it. I saw some pictures from it on Tumblr a few days back, was reminded, and decided to give it a shot. I have some feelings and random opinions on it that I felt like sharing. Most of these will include spoilers for the entire story, so be warned. Also: TW: ABUSE

But first, my non-spoilery plea to others who haven’t read it (and I guess the first thing I wanted to talk about): If you’re avoiding the series because you’ve heard that it glorifies or romanticizes abusive relationships, you can put that concern to rest. I honestly don’t know how anyone can walk away from the series with that take. The relationship portrayed in the series is nightmarish, and even the parts that aren’t so nightmarish are tense and very much realistic in the way abusive relationships actually work. Abusers aren’t abusive 100% of the time, and that’s what makes them so insidious. If they were terrible all the time, it would be much easier to hate them, leave them, and forget them. Instead, they are often kind, generous, and loving between incidents of abuse. This is to keep their victims emotionally attached to them. For many of these abusers, they may even feel actual love for their victims (a twisted, selfish love for sure, but I’ve always been of the belief that love can be a bad thing in certain situations). So even though there are moments in the series where the relationship seems to be going “well”, there’s always a sense of dread hanging over it, the feeling that at any moment, things are going to explode.

From here on out, there are !!MAJOR SPOILERS!! for the entire series.

A lot of people have identified the most sad or tragic or painful moments for them while reading, and those moments vary quite a bit between people. For me, the moment that gouged out my heart, the moment that was such a punch to the gut that I almost felt physical pain, was just a tiny thing. Toward the end, the first time Bum tries to go to the hospital Sangwoo is at, and the cab driver treats him like shit, Bum thinks “Why does everyone treat me like this?” And then we see flashbacks of moments when Sangwoo was kind to him. And... that right there. That got me. The fact that his abuser, the person who had treated him so cruelly, was also the only person who had treated him with actual kindness, broke my heart. The fact that he’d lived his whole life and experienced nothing but cruelty or indifference or betrayal. The only person who ever made him feel special, feel loved, was also the person who had tormented him. And it hurt so much to read, because I know that’s how many real life abuse victims feel. It was, in my opinion, the most tragic aspect of the series.

My last opinion might be a little controversial. Something I noticed when checking out the fandom for the series was how anyone who even hinted that they’d like for Sangwoo and Bum to be happy together was met with absolute hate and fury (slinging around lots of terrible insults like “failed abortion” and things I won’t repeat here - like yeah great idea explaining how abusive relationships are bad by being verbally abusive). Now, as a logical adult, I know it would be totally impossible for them to have a happy relationship (and indeed they didn’t). I didn’t even want them to be together. I just wanted them both to get a lot of therapy. The “headcanon” I came up with to make myself feel less depressed after the ending was that they both died and were then reborn into loving, nurturing environments where they grew up to be happy, well-adjusted people who would meet in college and have a healthy relationship. But I do understand the people who saw the less horrible moments and thought, “I wish they could just be happy together”. Because it did feel like these two thoroughly broken people had found a tiny, miniscule amount of happiness and love, even if it was clear it definitely would not last and definitely was not healthy. I get feeling that way.

And actually, the series plays a fairly clever trick on the reader. Just like real life abuse victims have trouble hating and leaving their abusers when those abusers are kind or show a more human side to them, Sangwoo became much harder to hate and dismiss once his traumatic childhood was revealed and he showed some kindness to Bum. It’s like the series was showing us exactly how abuse victims remain attached to their abusers, by making us stay attached to Sangwoo as a character. For the first half of the series I despised him, but the series tricked me into sympathizing with him and even feeling sorry for him and wishing he could be happy. And that. right. there. That’s how abusers get you. I thought it was a very smart way to portray this concept.

I also get that some BL fans DID romanticize and even fetishize the relationship. But, and hear me out please, I don’t think that’s a reason to totally dunk on those fans. Most of the fans who felt that way are probably fairly young, probably naive, probably exploring some dark fantasies for (perhaps) the first time in their lives. I think most people have something that introduced them to darker fantasies (rape fantasies, violent kinks, etc.). When you’re young, these are pretty thrilling to think about, and as long as you limit this exploration to works of fiction, it’s a safe way to dig into these fantasies. For most people, they grow out of them. The thrill wears off as they get older or they become mature enough to realize how horrible and scary those situations would be in real life. Some people keep those kinds of kinks all their lives, and as long as they limit it to fantasy and fiction, or consensual situations, that’s fine. But we need to understand that Killing Stalking, just by nature of having a very attractive character like Sangwoo, is going to be that piece of media that introduces a lot of younger people to those darker fantasies. And it’s not necessarily a terrible thing to let them safely explore those fantasies with this story. Because the story doesn’t encourage it. It doesn’t paint a rosey picture of this kind of relationship. It’s horrifying and ends in tragedy and trauma for everyone involved.

My “thing” that introduced me to darker fantasies was a movie called Boxing Helena, which I watched when I was most definitely too young. For those who haven’t seen it, it actually shares some themes with Killing Stalking (involving a sexy but psychotic man who had lots of issues relating to his mother and keeps a woman captive in his home, partly because she reminds him of his mother, and does horrible things to her - there’s even a scene where he brings another woman home and has sex with her while the captive woman is forced to watch through a cracked door. Sounds familiar, right?). It felt dark and dangerous and taboo, because it was also horrific. But it was exciting. Of course, I grew out of things like that, but it would have been absolutely no help to have a ton of people screaming at me that I was a sick pervert for finding the psycho guy hot (I mean it was Julian Sands in the 90’s, can you really blame me?).

If you come across younger fans who think Killing Stalking was sexy and say dumb things like, “I’d like to be in Sangwoo’s basement!” (actual comment I saw), don’t immediately harp on them and make them feel bad. They’re just exploring their own fantasies. It would be much more helpful to calmly and patiently talk to them and point out that it’s okay to like this stuff in fiction, but to be very careful about how they explore these feelings in reality. I’d be willing to bet that the vast majority of these people are just virginal teenagers who would never in a million years get involved in a dangerous relationship. So let’s cut them a little slack.

Note: When I refer to younger fans, I’m thinking 18-20 or so, and of course the younger teens who are going to read this whether we want them to or not. I am in no way suggesting that we should encourage younger people to read it. Just that, if you come across a younger person who has already read it, yelling insults at them over their naive opinions on it isn’t going to be helpful to anyone.

Anyway, that’s all I have to say about it for now. I just felt very strongly about it and felt like sharing.

Doing this one as a headcanon!

Your family was the best about birthdays. They always threw huge parties, invited all of your friends, and they always pitched in to get you one big gift. But this year you hadn’t really talked about it because everyone had been really busy.

You of course brought it up with your dad, but all you got was a “Hm? Yeah, okay, sure.” 

You thought he was bluffing. Because he was your dad. There was no way he could forget about your birthday, or even joke about it. The man lived for birthday parties. 

You still hadn’t heard anything as the weekend approached and you didn’t invite any of your friends over, assuming that your dad was already planning something with all of them like he’d done the year before. And your friends said they hadn’t heard anything, either, but you assumed they were lying. 

Finally your birthday came and you woke up expecting the big family breakfast you always had, but no one was there. You went downstairs and your dad hadn’t even made breakfast. He was just sitting there eating eggs he made only for himself. There were no stupid gag gifts or cards in sight. 

“So what time is dinner tonight?” You asked, trying to hint at something. He looked up at you and shrugged.

“Depends on what you want. I can make that chicken you liked again.”

“I thought we were going out?” Your dad blinked at you a few times. Most of the time either he cooked store bought food or you ordered in, so asking to go out was a little odd. 

“I mean, we can if you want. I’ll let you know when I’m done with the meeting and then we’ll go.” 

“Oh. Okay,” you said. Usually it was whenever you wanted to go, you’d go. You went back upstairs and texted your friends, and they assured you that there was no surprise party or anything. How could that be? Your dad had just forgotten your fucking birthday? Your birthday? The day he said was the greatest day of his entire life because it gave him you?  

Maybe it was all just a fluke, you thought. But it made you sad enough that you just curled up in bed and started watching TV. You still didn’t make plans with friends because most of them already had plans, so you just kind of sat there and wondered if you did something to deserve it. 

You texted your family group chat to see if anyone could come and they all had plans, too. So not only did your dad forget about your birthday, your whole entire family forgot about your birthday. What the fuck? 

Eventually it was 6 and you were not only starving, but you'd been crying for a good portion of the day, so you went downstairs to confront your dad. You looked through the mail and there was one single birthday card from your grandparents, so you left it out on the table where your dad would see. Your plan worked, because he walked past the table and then his eyebrows furrowed and he frowned. 

“I thought your birthday was next weekend? They usually don’t send the card ‘till the day after,” he said, half-under his breath. 

“No,” you admitted. You sat down on the couch, crossing your arms. “It’s today.” 

Your dad’s eyes FLEW over to you and you could see right away that he felt guilty. You felt bad about it, almost, because he was clearly beating himself up. 

“What? It’s not the 28th!” He tried to say. You opened your phone calendar and showed it to him. “Oh my god, baby.” 

“It’s okay,” you responded. “You’ve been really busy lately.” He sat down beside you and pulled you into a hug. 

“No, it’s not! It’s not okay. You’re my daughter and I forgot your fucking birthday! What kind of dad forgets his only child’s birthday? What kind of dad does that?” 

“Dad.” 

“That’s why you’ve been mopey all day and you wanted to go out for dinner,” he thought out loud. 

“Yeah.” He hugged you tightly and promised he’d make it up to you. So you went upstairs and got ready for dinner and in a few minutes you came back down.

He took you to your favorite restaurant without you even asking. He got you dessert there AND took you to an ice cream place and got you the biggest scoop even though you’d probably only eat half of it. 

He promised you he’d make up for it the next day, and he did. He invited the whole family over, and your friends, and even though it wasn’t the traditional birthday party, it was still your favorite one. 

When you were cleaning up the next night, he hugged you tightly. 

“I’m sorry I forgot your birthday. But you know that doesn’t mean I love you any less, right? You’re still my favorite person.” You hugged him back.

“You’re my favorite person, too.”

My Madagascar “Timeline”

Until “Madagascar 4″ and “Madagascar: A Little Wild” comes out, this is my take on the events that take place. I included every Madagascar movie, the holiday shorts, All Hail King Julien, TPOM Movie and TPOM series.

I tried my best to keep it as canon as possible, but tbh there’s no way to do that when there are so many time skips in the movies where the characters grew up.

Baby Penguins save Private and are on the iceberg, ready to take on the world. On their way, they get captured and taken to Central Park Zoo, unintentionally sending Dave on his way to becoming a villain.

Baby Alex gets captured by poachers from Africa, but his crate falls off the truck and into the ocean. He eventually gets rescued and taken to the zoo.

Everyone grows up. Everything that happens during this time frame is pure speculation and headcanons/theories. Manfredi and Johnson are transferred to the Penguins' habitat. They quickly become friends with the Penguins. Manfredi and Johnson are older than them, but by just a few years.

Manfredi and Johnson heavily influence the younger Penguins' by supporting their "commando" ways and introducing the famous Buck Rotgut (who trained them). Skipper INSISTS on being the leader until Johnson finally convinces him that since they (M&J) were the ones who knew more about it, they should be in charge. But just until Skipper learns everything from them, because after all, he doesn't want to make a mistake and accidentally cause harm to his brothers, right?

During their training, Manfredi and Johnson tell the boys tales of their past adventures. Most of these are exaggerated to make them seem cool and to entertain the young boys. Some aren't even real events, just told as a bedtime story or as a warning. (These stories are mostly where Skipper gets his paranoia from. See the explanations below) Also during this time, they have some of their own adventures together.

At some point, when they're all slightly older (perhaps in their "teens"?), Private gets separated from the rest. I'm presuming that he gets transferred to Texas (or somewhere in the South) where he learns he's amazing at minigolf and takes on the persona as "Mr. Tux." However, after the ice cream incident, Private hangs up his putter. How he gets back to NYC, he could have been transferred back (either by his doing or the humans' doing), he could have ran away and back to NYC, or his brothers finally rescued him.

---"AHKJ" events begin to happen around here and continue until the movie "Madagascar" is mentioned----

Eventually, after much begging and not so subtle hinting from Skipper, Manfredi and Johnson allow him to go on a mission by himself. (When Manfredi expresses concern, Skipper says, "Trust me, Manfredi, what could go wrong?" a line Skipper said in "The Return Of The Revenge of Dr, Blowhole) They send him to Denmark where he is to partner up with Hans the puffin to conduct some research on the Danes. They thought having a partner would be safer for Skipper, but Hans turned on him and made him Denmark's public enemy #1.

Now banned from Denmark, Skipper comes back to discover that Rico has gone crazy without him. (so crazy that Rico even bit and ate a chunk of Manfredi's leg) Manfredi and Johnson, afraid that Rico will act like that again, decide to limit Skipper's solo missions. (This is something Skipper continues to keep doing, even after being named the leader.)

After having to endure Rico's insane rampage, Manfredi and Johnson decide to have a vacation. They leave Skipper in charge and head off to a spa. Once their vacation time was up, they didn't want to go back yet, so they decided to say they were dead. They sent word to the Penguins, informing them of their "death", but Johnson made sure to add that their demise was not terrible and in fact very relaxing so the Penguins wouldn't be so upset. (Which somehow worked, because the Penguins don't seem to get too sad when talking about them)

Without Manfredi and Johnson, Skipper became the new leader. He made Kowalski his second in command, and Rico the demolitions expert. Private was still training since he had missed so much during his "Mr. Tux" time, and as such not given a role. They begin to plan their escape to Antarctica.

Around here is when "The Madagascar Penguins in a Christmas Caper" takes place.

It's in November when Alex, Gloria, Marty, and Melman (who will be referred to as the "Hippies" from now on) are shipped out and thanks to the Penguins, wind up on Madagascar.

At the end of "AHKH", the final episode has the lemurs are celebrating Cover and Sage's wedding, Alex washes up on shore. This is where "Madagascar" events start.

Meanwhile, back in NYC. Manfredi and Johnson hear about the zoo animals escaping and being shipped to Africa, only to have the boat go off radar and unable to be contacted. Manfredi and Johnson assume this was the work of the Penguins and decide to investigate. They discover the Penguins' plans to dig to Antarctica and head there. Of course, they don't find them and wind up being captured and sent BACK to NYC, but this time, they're sent to Seaville instead of the zoo.

Now stuck on Madagascar, the Penguins try to rebuild the plane (with Timo's help), Kowalski meets Doris the dolphin. He falls in love with her and confesses, but she's not interested. Eventually, his constant confessions of love and numerous gifts begin to annoy her and she decides to leave. A depressed and distraught Kowalski gets a tattoo of her from Pancho.

Not long after that, "Merry Madagascar" takes place.

Not sure how long it took, but the plane is finally fixed (sort of) and "Madagascar 2" happens. BUT at some point before Skipper and Lola's wedding, (which means BEFORE the ending of "Madagascar 2), "Madly Madagascar" happens.

After Skipper's wedding, "Madagascar 3" happens.  

Sometime after "Madagascar 3", the circus stops in Guatemala where Rico meets a girl. He falls head over heels for her, and tries to show her how much he likes her. But she doesn't understand his gibberish and is freaked out by him.

And after "Madagascar 3" is "The Penguins of Madagascar Movie".

After TPOM Movie, everything seems fine. That is, until Dr. Blowhole shows up. The Penguins once again leave the circus and defeat Blowhole. Realizing that the dolphin is never going to give up trying to defeat the Penguins and make the human race suffer, Skipper and his team decide to stay at the zoo to keep an eye on things. Julien decides to stay as well, because he and Sonya broke up and things between them did not end well. Maurice and Mort go with him.

The PoM series is last. The Hippies are still doing their circus acts, just without the Penguins and lemurs. The Penguins are keeping Central Park Zoo safe and getting annoyed by Julien sometimes.
