@daisy-duck-rp Why are you on the other side and not with me? By the way, how about my uncle Scrooge finally finding happiness, and it's not always about money?
@pick-and-shovel-laborer I hope you are happy now Uncle Scrooge. Happy late birthday!

Happy birthday Scrooge McDuck! - Scrooge's birthday with his family, friends and his loves - Scrooge Week 2024 - Family and Free Day - Scroldie and Scrogitta - Duck comics - Duckverse - My version
I know I'm already late, but here's something to do about Scrooge Week and on a special Family and Free Day topic. Yes, Scrooge celebrates his birthday on July 8th based on the 1988 book Ducktales ("Silver Dollars for Uncle Scrooge"), although he first appeared in a Carl Barks comic on November 14th, 1947 called "Christmas on Bear Mountain ". So I wish him a happy birthday!
This time I drew related to the comic book version, since that is my favorite version of Scrooge McDuck more than Scrooge in the cartoons. Although it depends from author to author how Scrooge McDuck is written, although I like the most from Carl Barks, Don Rosa, William Van Horn, Romano Scarpa, Carpi, Guido Martina, Giorgio Cavazzano, Vicar, Arild Midthun, Kari Korhonen and other authors. Lest comic book Scrooge is just one version. So I decided to draw Scrooge McDuck celebrating his birthday with a birthday cake with his closest family and friends as well as his love. Of course in my own way, in my own style.
In addition to Scrooge McDuck, there are also Brigitta MacBridge, Goldie O'Gilt (Glittering Goldie), Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Gideon McDuck (Scrooge's own brother, mostly invented by Romano Scarpa), Matilda McDuck (Scrooge's own sister, version from Don Rosa comics), Ludwig von Drake, Dickie Duck (Goldie's granddaughter), Loretta MacBridge (Brigitta's niece), Gyro Gearloose (Archimede Pitagorico - Italian version), Grandma Duck (Elvira Coot), Rumpus McFowl (Scrooge's half-brother from William Van Horn comics) and although she is not present, Hortense Duck (Scrooge's own sister and mother of Donald and Della Duck) in my drawing is definitely in the photo. And Goldie and Brigitta kiss Scrooge on both sides, and Scrooge likes it very much. XD Yeah, I'm not for ship wars and that's the stupidest thing I've ever faced in the fandom, because everyone is entitled to their favorite couple. However, I love both comic book couples, Scrooge with Goldie (especially because of The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck) and Scrooge with Brigitta (the Italian Topolino comics are the best for me as far as the two are concerned), and this reconciles both love couples into one. Yeah, I prefer the comic book version to Ducktales for my own reasons, sorry. Yes, Scrooge also has his first coin that he earned. This is just my opinion.
If you like this, and like these characters, feel free to like and reblog this, but don't use these same ideas of mine without mentioning me and without my permission. Thank you! Also this is dedicated to a dear @knuckles-junior, who organized Scrooge Week (I hope you don’t mind this version) as well as a friend, dear @bitterlynsposts who like me loves the love couple between Scrooge and Brigitta which is really underrated. And it's dedicated to all of you who love Scroldie (the love couple between Scrooge and Goldie) and Scrogitta (the love couple between Scrooge and Brigitta). Happy birthday once again to Scrooge McDuck, the richest duck in the world!

DUCK TIMELINE ACCORDING TO ME
(au? idk all of its "canon" but I'm picking and choosing and altering a lil)
•Abner is born first, then Donald and Della, Gladstones a little younger than them (like a year?) then Fethry. I think it makes sense for Abner to be the oldest since he doesn't really hang out with everyone else, maybe thats because of the age gap ya know.
•They all meet up and spend every summer at Grandmas farm. I think Abner preteen/teen stage kinda stops going, he has other things he'd rather do.
•As for everyone's relationships at this stage, Donald and Della get along fairly well, they're usually by each other sides. They have different interests tho, Donald wanting to be a sailor and Della a pilot. Gladstone and Donald are always fighting (obviously), I think Della and Gladstone have a pretty neutral relationship. Fethrys the baby and Abner doesn't want to play with the younger kids (they're lame) but probably has a soft spot for Fethry.
•I like to think Gyro and Donald knew each other as kids too. This is largely based on that one Don Rosa comic that introduces little helper (?).
•As a kid Donalds grandpa Humpsadink(?) dies. I'm not 100% on everyone's names in english, but I think thats his name.
•Donald and Della meet their uncle Scrooge once (1) and Donald kicks him for being mean to his parents. Scrooge enters rich old man isolation.
•As preteens Della and Donalds parents die and they move in with Grandma Duck permanently. In the comics I usually see Donald raised by Grandma Duck and that raises so many questions for me. Are Hortense and Quackmore dead? extremely busy? And wheres Della?? I wanted to include Donald living at Grandma Ducks farm because its canon in a lot of comics, so this is my solution.
•Some time later Gladstones parents die and Matilda & Ludwig adopt him. Not entirely sure ab this, but I'll go with it. This is based on Don Rosas plans for the family tree, he decided against it but there's nothing really contradicting it so. Here it is. I also just really want Ludwig on the tree (cause I like him), so him being married to Matilda works out.
•Donald and Della grow up and move out. Donald becomes a sailor and Della a pilot. Donald travels the world and meets José and Panchito, and his spanish(?) ex-girlfriend Donna (I don't know if everyone knows who this is but shes in a short and some comics). Basically he's living his best 20s life abroad. When hes not traveling for work, Donald lives in a little houseboat.
•At this point Donald and Della have grown apart, they've got their own lives now and don't see each other much. Still love each other obviously.
•Della gets pregnant and the father walks out on her. Donald is of course furious at this guy but Della says he's not worth it. Donald makes sure to visit more often.
•Della has Huey, Dewey and Louie. Donald sees 'em a couple of times when hes not on a ship.
•Della Amelia Earharts when HDL are like, 5. Donald races home when he hears the news and is absolutely devastated. He decides he needs to pull himself together and gets custody of HDL. He quits being a sailor and starts taking up odd jobs. Sells his houseboat and gets a real house (probably with some help from the family, excluding Scrooge cause he's still in rich old man isolation).
•HDL begin acting up, because they miss their mother, and, sure, they know unca Donald, but he's also not someone they're used to seeing. I imagine having your mom go missing and then having to live with your uncle you barely know at 5 would traumatize you a little. And Donalds trying his best, but up until now he's been a sailor traveling the world and is not equipped to deal with children. Especially when he's dealing with his own grief. (His twin is missing, presumed dead. His twin who'd always been with him. Someone he thought couldn't leave.)
•HDL join the junior woodchucks and that helps them settle a little. Donalds learning to be a parent and things are looking up. I think he starts seeing Daisy somewhere around here.
•Scrooge exits rich old man isolation by inviting Donald and the boys to christmas. (that one Carl Barks comic) (you know with the bears)
And with that I think we're up to date? I might have forgotten somethings but I'll have to add them later. Feel free to comment with your own thoughts and headcanons, and do tell me if I missed something.

THE PRINCESS DIARIES & THE PRINCESS DIARIES 2: ROYAL ENGAGEMENT PROMPTS * assorted dialogue from both films (2001 & 2004)
the brave may not live forever, but the cautious do not live at all.
wait for me! wait for me!
anyone can see your desires. no one knows what's in your heart.
you are so lucky you don't know who your parents are.
i am invisible... and i am wet.
i'm just supposed to watch you.
am i too late to ask you to accept my hand in marriage?
you broke my glasses!
don't worry about me.
a princess never chases a chicken.
this really is more romantic in books.
oh, by the way! i'm getting married!
you're not very good at lying.
i thought you'd never ask.
oh! oh yes! i absolutely accept!
somebody sat on me again.
we just made the bed.
tell me a secret.
i have done a lot of flying in my day.
do we have any problems?
you'll never be bored.
i loathe you.
no matter how many times you press that, it will still go up and down the same way.
i just love to look at him.
you look so... clean.
can you please pretend you have a life for just one moment?
just in case i wasn't enough of a freak already, let's add a tiara.
this is between a waltz and a tango.
we don't slump like this.
tell me your greatest desires.
i thought you said you never slide.
if there are no more passengers, i think we should close the door.
this is getting us nowhere! talk to me!
are you sassing your grandma?
courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something is more important than fear.
i have never put on pantyhose before, but it sounds dangerous.
why me?
yeah, he's cute.
shut up!
look out the window.
as always, this is as good as it's gonna get.
don't forget your shoes.
i haven't danced with you since your birthday.
you're morphing into one of them!
probably all i ever do is think about myself.
i can't do this.
i have diplomatic immunity in 46 countries, including puerto rico.
i love your eyebrows.
you can't run from everything?
i simply cannot condone it.
love does things for reasons that reasons cannot understand.
hang up the phone!
the secret is... i still want to.
the fault was entirely my own.
i'd like to report an accident.
the three of us have to talk.
what am i, a duck?
my job is to protect the crown.
stop daydreaming!
oh! your foot! i'm so sorry, are you all right?
i hate it when they move in like that.
is there maybe something else about me and my life that just maybe i might want to know about?
this is so cool!
now what did you want to tell me?
just stop it, okay?
you will answer directly to me.
are you sure you don't want to exchange licenses and proof of insurances?
he's not a backstreet boys clone.
i don't like you.
i look like a moose.
well aren't you just... crafty.
i've got a wedding to go to.
wait wait! no, not you. i don't even know you.
can we park a block away from school?
you know what? i don't feel protected.
you will find the word "fear" is not in my vocabulary.
i won't be getting married today.
oh my god! you're here!
i beg your pardon!
oh, for the love of god!
why do you talk like that?
is your mom dating an undertaker?
you look so... young.
can i borrow a comb?
oh, yeah, that is exactly what you did.
i know it's short notice, but you were all dressed.
so where are you taking me?
who destroyed you?
just because i didn't get my fairytale ending doesn't mean you shouldn't.
not if you didn't want me to.
they're smitten!
well, that probably wasn't the best idea.
you look ridiculous. you should sue.
have you ever experienced that instant headache when you eat ice too quickly?
just because your hair sucks, get off mine!
do you wear contact lenses?
i would gladly take a bullet for you.
look over there.
is this the punishment for driving without a licensed driver in the front seat?
you broke my brush.
so what are we learning today?
did you happen to see who's here?
you talk to him much?
well, the camera's all ready to go.
let's go this way.
ever take those shades off?
are you ready?
enough bowing! back to your chores!
no more straggling for me.
you did very well. very charming.
the light is perfect!
i'm feeling shy, come on.
you chose me, and i accepted.
did you hear that?
do you have any change?
no, it's not attractive!
okay, i look like an asparagus.
where is she going?
if this were my party, we'd be kissing by now.
they put me on hold!
we never rush. we hasten.
you know what? i'm fine! i'm good!
a strange woman came in here and asked to hide in your closet so i let her.
should i shoo him?

New DuckTales (87) fanfic!
"Finally!" Yes, enthusiasm sounds different. "Ye're nah better than mah good-for-nothing nephew!" By the good-for-nothing nephew, Scrooge McDuck indeed refers to his nephew, Donald Fauntleroy Duck. By "no better" he means neither a relative nor a stranger. Launchpad McQuack, the best and worst pilot ever. "Late again!" "By two minutes," grumbles Launchpad, rolling his eyes. "Time is money," says the supposedly richest duck in the world firmly. Launchpad says nothing more. He doesn't like to argue. In this respect, he is clearly different from Donald. He is also late, but only half a minute, and is already ready to start polishing coins.
Launchpad sets off for his workplace. To take care of repairing the plane. Despite having crashed so many times, both pilot and plane are still safe and sound. The pelican has a few fans too. "Hi, Quack." "Ah, kids." Huey, Dewey and Louie, of course. Always ready for adventures. "Is something special going on?" asks Huey, the one with the red cap. "Not yet," says Launchpad , shrugging his shoulders. My plane has to be ready to take off soon. "It's a really cool thing," admits Dewey. "You can be proud of yourself." "Well," Launchpad smiles modestly. "I got here thanks to my parents. It was a tough school, my father was always pretty strict and even now he still doesn't seem to be happy with me." Louie laughs. "Well, of course your old man has every right to be disappointed if you keep crashing." Launchpad has to laugh too. "Well, I didn't hear that. I'm still in one piece." "You seem to be invulnerable somehow," admits Huey. "But now, brothers, we should let him work in peace."
Later, Launchpad has a break that isn't actually allowed, but if you forget to have your morning break... maybe you have to go now. "Oops! Excuse me!" "Typical men, well." The voice comes from a lady. An older one. "Oh, hello, Ms. Beakley." Bentina smiles. "Ah, Launchpad McQuack. You know, even at sixty, I'm still as busy as you." Launchpad laughs. "I know that from my parents. They're only in their late 50s, but well, even if math gives me a headache, even I know that it's not far off." "As my grandma always said, nobody gets any younger," Bentina giggles. "No, the reason I'm so busy is because everything here has to be in order. As you can see, your boss has an eye for money, but not for order." "I can understand that." "Not me! The villa can't look as if a tornado occured!" Launchpad grins. "Stop it! You sound like my mother!" "Your mother is absolutely right," Bentina insists, but she also laughs. "I'm not like that. How's your work going at the moment?" "Everything's as usual," Launchpad shrugs his shoulders. "A lot of work, but at least it's worth it." "Yes, I know, your airplane," Bentina replies. "Oh yes, Webby has a thing for that too." "A six-year-old girl?" says Launchpad, surprised. "That's impossible, she only plays with her dolls. I know her." "Thank God yes," Bentina sighs, "but the boys played baseball with her last weekend. She's getting bigger and bigger, she's already in first grade. She writes and reads very well." "I don't see it as that dramatic," grins Launchpad, "but doing math would kill me. Chickenpox isn't a nice thing, but when I had it for a week and missed two math tests, I been so thankful to the Lord thaz you wouldn't believe it!" "You're long past school," laughs Bentina. "Not as long as you, I hope," replies Launchpad.
Then he spots a picture when he squints into Bentina's room. The picture shows a young woman with blonde hair. She's smiling. "Do you know her?" asks Launchpad. Bentina is not laughing anymore, but starts look sad. "Yes, that was Wilma. She was my daughter. The daughter I had with William Vanderquack. Unfortunately, we didn't get married, therefore she took his last name while I kept mine. Unlike my younger sister Priscilla, who went on to become a Duck and went on to have five children, with Daisy being the youngest." Launchpad looks at the picture. Hmm, something looks familiar. Think, think about something... no, too much for the brain! Now he looks at Bentina again. "You said she WAS your daughter..." Bentina's eyes get wet. "Yes, but it was six years ago, almost seven..." Launchpad puts his hand on her shoulder. "Do you have any other children?" Bentina shakes her head silently. "You have Webby as your granddaughter," nods the pilot. "I have to say how well the little one is with animals, no fear... I'm not that scared either, as long as I don't have to think too much, but still, at that age, as a girl... respect. But who..."
He is interrupted. "Launchpad McQuack, where are you!? I'll shorten yer wages for yer damn laziness!" Uh oh! While Launchpad is rushing back, he asks Bentina one last question: "How's Webby in maths?"

Happy late 80th birthday, Grandma Duck! And happy 76th anniversary of Scrooge McDuck!
I haven't posted anything related to birthdays and anniversaries for a long time, but here I am posting this, even though I'm already more than a month late (because I've been away for a long time).
But, regardless, I'm publishing a special post for one of my favorite characters from Donald Duck comics and the Duckverse in general, as well as one of the best fictional parents, Grandma Duck (Elvira Coot).
It first appears in a short Donald Duck comic in a newspaper published on September 27, 1943. The comic was written by Bob Karp and drawn by Al Taliaferro and George Waiss, and Grandma Duck would later become one of the main characters in Donald Duck comics. Elvira Coot is the daughter of Clinton Coot (founder of the Junior Woodchucks) and Gertrude Gadwall and granddaughter of Cornelius Coot and sister of Casey Coot. Living for a long time on the farm, she learned to be an excellent gardener, cook and a good keeper and breeder of farm animals. And yes, she raised many children, her own, but also her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her nephews and nieces from the side and became a role model for all important members of the Duck family. She especially influenced the life of Donald Duck and that is why she is the best parent in the Duck family. And she is the oldest living as well as among the oldest people in Duckburg.
It mostly gained popularity in comics, first in America, then in European comics. Unfortunately, she didn't appear much in the animation. She only appeared in the Wonderful World of Color episode "This is Your Life, Donald Duck" in 1960, as a cameo character in "Mickey's Christmas Carol", as a cameo character in Sport Goofy in Soccermania and as a cameo character in the original Ducktales episode "Horse Scents" and in two video games. However, in most of the comics, Grandma Duck appears with Gus Goose. Yes, she is helped by two mice from Cinderella, Jaq and Gus.
Also, although this post won't be as dedicated to it as Grandma Duck, let me say that on November 14, 1947, Scrooge McDuck first appeared in the comic "Christmas on Bear Mountain" by Carl Barks, and more about that here: https://ducklooney.tumblr.com/post/701216162745352192
So Happy Anniversary to both Grandma Duck and Scrooge McDuck! Yes, if anyone is asking, in the Marco Rota comics, Scrooge and Grandma are sibling, so maybe this is related. However, they are totally separate and only have connections through Scrooge's sister Hortense and Elvira's son Quackmore.
And now pictures of Grandma Duck from her first appearance until today. Happy belated birthday Grandma Duck and happy anniversary of Scrooge McDuck's first appearance. If you love these characters, feel free to like and reblog this!

Summer - Struck by Love Legacy Challenge - Season 2, Episode 26
As spring passed them by, Leo and Naomi enjoyed their married life and living in their new house. Bear liked to sleep underneath their bed.
Leo and Naomi spent Fourth of July together by lighting a fire, watching the stars, and Leo listening to his love play his favorite songs on her guitar.

The Pina-Kibo annual vacation was here, the entire family showed up including Hiro, Suzu's brother, who had come last year and had become apart of the family.
Kaito: Here's grandma!
Elle cooed at Maeve.
Maeve: Hello little duck, I've missed you! Look how big you've grown.
Maeve: She looks tired, I'm gonna lay her down for a nap.
Kaito: Okay mom, let her sleep all she wants. The plane ride was awful, she wouldn't sleep at all and she was screaming.
Maeve: Why don't you let her sleep in mine and Star's room? We'll let you and Suzu get some rest.
Kaito: Thanks mom, you're the best.
Maeve: Of course, honey. You were once a little babe too.
The family settled in for the night, got some good sleep, and enjoyed breakfast together the next morning.

Leo: Wow, Star, your pancakes are even better than Naomi said they were.
Star: At least someone likes them!
Maeve: I criticized your cooking one time and you haven't let it go!
Star: Well, when you start cooking for me daily, I might take it a little less personal.
Hiro: I remember last year you made them with strawberries, that was pretty good.
Naomi: Ah, yes! And we had chocolate syrup!
Kaito: You don't need any more sugar Nay, you're hyper enough.
Naomi: For your information, we were talking about the pancakes that Star made last year.
Kaito: Oh, bro, those were the bomb.
Maeve: The whip cream was pretty good too.
Star smirked at Maeve: Yeah, it was definitely delicious on the pancakes.
Maeve stifled a giggle: Yeah, pancakes.
Kaito and Naomi: Gross!!
Leo under his breath: We've done worse.
Naomi lightly hits Leo on the shoulder: Shut it! Not in front of my parents.
Everyone laughed.
After breakfast, Maeve and Star went outside to enjoy the sun. Suzu and Kaito took Elle to dip her feet in the ocean water for the first time.

Leo went to go make some drinks for himself and Naomi.
Naomi cleaned up from breakfast and Hiro decided to help.
Naomi: I'll clean the dishes if you clean the couners?
Hiro: Sounds good.
Hiro: Come here beautiful

Duck Musings: The Tragedy of Magica De Spell
Tragedy and the Disney Ducks go oddly hand in hand, and we have examined this in several characters, Gladstone Gander and Donald Duck specifically. When it comes to the most tragic character though, I may have to put my money on Magica De Spell, and this isn’t just me being a simp, though I’ll admit that is part of it.
The comic that sparked this Duck Musing was this scanlation by lettheladylead of a 2021 comic by Giorgio Cavazzano titled “Magica De Spell: Origins of a Witch”, which is... pretty much what it says on the tin, the origin story of Magica De Spell. In it, we learn about what happened to her parents, why she is interested in the Midas Touch, and even where Ratface came from. It’s... kind of a sad comic.
Magica’s parents were killed in a spell gone wrong when she was just a baby, probably barley hatched, and from some of the artwork, it appears that they were more focused on the spell than on Magica. After, her Aunt and Uncle took her in, but tried to repress her magic, since this is the same magic that took their loved ones from them. Magica left after learning the truth and deciding to finish what her parents began, and never did seem to return to her Aunt and Uncle.
It is worth noting that there is an alternate backstory as to why Magica wants the Midas Touch, in the comic “The Pact of the Moon”, it is revealed that Magica was not originally evil, but she forced to make the Midas Touch spell by, what I’m assuming is the Witch Council. This lead her to becoming greedy and unscrupulous, again, not a very happy backstory. She also laments about her niece Minima, and how she hopes her niece doesn’t follow the path she herself has went down.
All of this ties into the tragic situation of her current life, always after Scrooge’s dime, always outwitted by the old man, always one step closer but two steps behind her ultimate goal. One of my favourite comics is “The Journey is the Reward”, where Magica does steal the dime, but ends up returning it because, she literally does not know what to do when she’s done. It kinda reminds of that scene in Fight Club where Tyler Durden was talking about always calling his Dad and asking him on what he should do next. It adds a lot to the tragedy of having an ultimate goal, when you don’t really know what you’re gonna do once you have completed it.
I’d also be remiss if I didn’t mention Magicstone, the strange pairing of Magica De Spell and Gladstone Gander. I’ve mentioned “A Gal For Gladstone” prior, but the big tragedy of the pairing, I think was best explored by, once again, Sarah Jolley, otherwise known as ModMad, specifically in their comic “Enough Time to Fall”, because they’re right, it never would work. Even if Magica stayed in her disguise, it would have to disappear eventually, and what then? It hurts because, in A Gal for Gladstone, they were both genuinely happy, and her plan failed because she was genuinely concerned about Gladstone’s safety. One true moment of joy, and it had to be snatched from her.
I wrote a piece of fanfiction titled “Stuck Together Duck” in which, Magica De Spell and Donald Duck get stuck together, and bond a little, because when you look at the two of them, they are quite similar. Lost their parents at a presumably young age, raised by extended family (Donald in part by his Uncle, but mostly by his Grandma, and Magica entirely by her aunt and Uncle), niblings they look after (Yes that is the neutral term for niece and nephew), honestly, it feels weird that this pairing isn’t more popular, but I digress. It goes to show that, at the core of the evil sorceress, is something a lot more tragic than one might initially think.
It’s also worth noting that Scrooge, doesn’t seem to hate her. In several comics, they work together to stop a bigger problem, like a comet hurdling towards earth, or another magic user stealing Scrooge’s dime. Scrooge has also helped Magica in situations where she would, or has, lost her magic abilities, and in one comic, it’s shown that the two of them send birthday cars to each other. So maybe Scrooge sees something in Magica, and I don’t mean that in a shipping way, though feel free to take it like that.
Well, I made a Magica post that referenced three of Magica’s ships. I think I’m done for now.
To wrap up, Magica De Spell is easily one of my favourite characters, and really getting a chance to explore this aspect of her character was fun, and also a little heartbreaking. Maybe someday, Magica will get a happy ending to her story, maybe her nieces will find a path to follow that she can be happy for, maybe she and Scrooge will become genuine friends, we can always hope... and write fanfiction. Lots and lots of fanfiction.

Whumptober day 16:
"Would you lie with me, and just forget the world?"
Gurney | flatline | "Don't go where I can't follow."
Fandom: Ducktales
Prompts used: all
So didnt think this was gonna go where it went but uh, it did. Based heavily on a tumblr post/story that did it way better than me, but some angst none the less. However as with most all my stories, the whole… clone thing? Yeah… nah. April May and June are their own birds and typically based off of the Legend of the 3 cabs show versions of them. So 🫶🏻
TW for temporary character death, near death experiences, implied child abuse, and children in dangerous situations.
…
It's dark.
Quiet, the world was full of noise at all times, but this, this was the absence of everything.
A glimmer of golden moon light, he looks towards it, a familiar scene plays out before his eyes.
Donald, maybe 6 years old, is wandering around Grandma Ducks farm, looking for something- no someone. He's still wearing the stiff material his parents like to put him in, which means he'd- no they'd- just been dropped off. He finds Della lying on the roof of the barn, skirt already covered in hay and dirt, hair pulled down from whatever hair do their mother had insisted on.
"You know Gramma doesn't like us up here." Donald's voice is hoarse from disuse, but his sister has always been able to understand him best.
"I needed to be somewhere high. Above their reach." Della responds, and older Donald remembers this. Remembers how angry his sister had been that day, how their parents had been insufferable. Tufts of hair and feathers had been pulled as they were made 'presentable'. "Would you lie with me, and just forget the world?" She finally asks, hand reached out to him.
He doesn't hesitate, taking her hand and laying beside her. They stare at the sky, matching bruised wrists pressed together, and forget.
Donald thinks about the couple years after that, before they moved in with Uncle Scrooge, and how many times they felt lost until they could look up at the sky together and simply be.
The golden glow takes on the slightest hue of red, like a sunrise over a pile of treasure, and Donald really has no other options in this black nothingness, than to watch.
He's older, maybe 12, and they're on an adventure. It's a rare one, Gladstone and Fethry allowed to join, and Donald can see his younger selves anxiety as the threes antics play out. Uncle Scrooge, for his part, is trying to figure out a riddle of some kind to get the entrance open.
Fethry is the one to actually figure it out, giggling with glee when the rock slides away to reveal the entrance. Scrooge is mildly impressed- though he wouldn't show it of course- and Donald ruffles the boy's hat/head in his place, Della whooping and Gladstone groaning out a 'finally' even as he grins at Fethry.
They head inside, following the old man's lead as he makes his way carefully, torch held high- because why use a flashlight?- and open book in hand. Some legend or other, some treasure he had to have, on an adventure he had to prove he could do. Donald didn't mind it, really it could be fun and he loved learning new stuff- Fethry and Della are messing around, a foot steps where it shouldn't, Donald is in front of them before he really thinks about it.
Something always went wrong.
Seeing it from the outside is strange, watching his younger self get punctured by several arrows. At the time he hadnt been able to take in his families reactions, and the aftermath had been lectures and the likes, but seeing it now… seeing Uncle Scrooges terror as he rushes back, Della and Fethrys screams he hadnt heard over his own falll, Gladstones paralyzed form as terror wide eyes stared at Donalds fallen form. He gets to watch the panic and fear and tears, from the temple all the way to the nearest hospital, how they all try to follow the gurney and are held back.
Donald hadn't realized they'd cared that much… Was it like that everytime? Or… just in the beginning, when they didnt use these things to their advantage? Donald knows it's gotten better- after so much worse happened first- but he wonders… right now, are they worried like this, or are they there at all?
Della had always assumed their times would come together. Even when she was on the moon, she figured she'd live and miraculously drop dead as Donald did on Earth and they'd reunite in the beyond and yell and hug and-
Or… as a kid, she worried it would end in a hospital before his time. He'd be injured because of her or another family member, and they'd all be gathered- or so many missing, why did they always leave when Donald needed them most?- around a too still form as a heart rate monitor flat lines in a high final tone.
Her heart has yet to calm, she's staring blankly before her, at a machine meant to destroy all adventure- meant to destroy her family- and yet… the only one missing is her brother, the duck ready to sacrifice himself for his loved ones at any given moment. The one who was dropped into an angry red ball of lightning, even after Scrooge signed that damned contract.
The machine was shut down moments after, moments too late, and the rage that had overtaken Della in that moment… figures she’d understand Donald after he was…
The ensuing battle was a mess, Della had seen red for most of it, Donalds bandmates had shown up to save Scrooge from a direct blast from the sword of swanstentine, and Louie and Huey had found a hole in the contract, and the family had won-
"Where's Uncle Donald??" Dewey is the first to ask, his brothers look around,
"He was on the platform with you guys wasnt he mom?" Huey looks imploringly at the adults before him, and Della falls to her knees.
"Mom!?"
Scrooge places a heavy hand on her shoulder, eyes teary as he tries to look at the children slowly gathering before them.
"Yer Uncle… well he-"
"No. Nonono, don't finish that sentence." Louie cuts him off, eyes wet and lower beak wobbling, "It's Uncle Donald. It's ridiculous how much he can go through and still come back. We need him so he has to be… he's fine!" Huey and Dewey are on either side of him, Webby has his hoodie squeezed in her fist, Violet and Lena are behind her, Gosolyn and Boyd inching closer to Dewey and Huey respectively.
Everyone else is closing in behind them, those who understand looking lost and shocked, and looking back at the machine like he'd just… waltz out of it.
Della sobs, something deep and bitter and broken, a wail so loud her ancestors must feel her pain. The clouds had dispersed with their victory, the sun mocks her as tragedy shakes the unshakable family.
"Della? Whats wrong?" The crackly voice is unmistakable, Della fears she is hearing things, that she'll find his ghost when she lowers her eyes, but Scrooges gasp,
"Donald Duck."
"Uncle Scrooge. What's everyone doing? Did we lose?"
Donald is being supported by José and Panchito on either side- Della hadn't seen them leave, just as she hadn't seen them arrive- he looks drained, a gray tinge to his form and darkness beneath his eyes. He'd only been gone a few moments but he looks like he went through hell to get back- and well maybe he did.
Della stumbles towards him at full speed, sure the others are right behind her, and tackles him to the ground. He wheezes, feeling too thin beneath her arms, but hugs back just as tight,
"I swear Donald, never do that again! Don't go where I can't follow. I… can't do this without you." She whispers it, a moment for them alone, voice trembling as she buries her teary face in his shoulder.
"I'm sorry. I'm here now." He runs a hand through her hair, one more long moment before she moves and a pile of children replace her.
"Uncle Donald!" The chorus is music to his ears, he'd thought he'd never hear it again.
He thought he'd drift in a black void, his thoughts his only company, forever. He felt weakened with every memory, sucked dry and hopeless as he realized his many mistakes and had his trauma bared before him. Seeing José's glowing green eyes had startled him into a squawk he hadn't realized he could release in the silence. His shadow form was practically invisible with no light to define him, but his hand had led Donald home. What had felt like a lifetime, had been mere minutes, but he was glad he didn't miss too much. He wanted to see the- his- kids grow up.
And give this whole family thing another shot.

For the ask game: Butters! I can't decide on which questions so... all of them! (Or how ever many you feel like answering.)
oh this should be fun-
My first interpretation of them
Honestly I just felt bad for him. I basically knew him as the kid who got grounded all the time and he seemed sweet enough, he was actually one of my faves from the beginning haha
2. When I think I started to truly like him
Honestly the Fun With Veal episode. And in the Butters’ Bottom Bitch episode where he just kept going ‘do you know what I am saying?’ I just thought it was funny lol
3. A song that reminds me of them
(Kinda a joint one) but You and Me (But Mostly Me) from Book of Mormon is SO Butters and Cartman. Also The Weight of Us by Sanders Bohlke.
4. How many people I ship them with
I don’t really do ships lol, I liked him and Charlotte tho, they seemed cute.
5. My favorite ship of them
Probably him and Charlotte
6. My least favorite ship of them
Him and Cartman. Absolutely him and Cartman.
7. A quote of them I remember
“I’d rather be a crying little pussy than a faggy goth kid anyway.”
8, My favorite outfit on them
Professor Chaos or his Stick of Truth costume
9. My least favorite outfit on them
The bear suit Paris Hilton made him wear in Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset. I felt awful for him
10. Describe the character in one sentence
Sunshine boy with horrible family members
11. What’s the first thing I think fo when I think of this character?
His accent. I dunno, I just have a knack for remembering stuff like that lol-I could honestly just listen to his voice all day, it’s soothing for me
12. Sexuality hdc!
I’m torn between him being pan and being straight lol, but I do think he’s on the ace spectrum.
13. My favorite friendship they have
Him and Kenny. Definitely
14. Best storyline they had
Butters’ Very Own Episode. I felt bad for him but it’s one of my favorite episodes
15. Worst storyline they had
Probably in the earlier seasons when he was just used as Kenny’s counterpart for the shows punching bag. Idk, it just felt like he didn’t really have any character or personality back then
16. A childhood headcanon
He lived on a farm for a little bit when he was a baby. They moved from Hawaii to say Oklahoma, then to South Park when he was three. Hence the accent. He also had a pet chick up until he was 7 or so named Toast. His parents made him give the chick away tho
17. What do you think their first word was?
Probably just mama or something. I do have a headcanon he still calls his mom (or his unofficial mother figure) mama sometimes.
18. How do I think he was as a kid?
He was probably really hyper. He subdued when he got older tho because his parents kept grounding him for accidentally breaking stuff when he would run around
19. The most random ship I’ve seen with this character
Butters x Craig. Like ???? They never interacted in the show lol-
20. A weird headcanon
Butters has a huge sweet tooth and if there’s candy or sweets in his vicinity he’ll devour it in an instant and likely suffer from a bellyache later
21. When do I think they were at his happiest?
Probably when he moved out and went to college tbh. He was just happy to get away from his toxic ass family. Or when his grandma finally dies.
22. When do I think he was at his lowest?
I do headcanon that when he’s in middle school he finally snaps. He becomes angry and kinda becomes a bully because he doesn’t feel like he has anyone who cares about him, it’s probably only for a few days at most but he just snaps at everyone, makes fun of everything everyone does, but after a few days Kenny (and maybe Cartman or Kyle) kinda confronts him and he ends up apologizing and trying to find someone to talk to.
23. Future headcanon
I wanna imagine that he lives on a farm, he has a bunch of chickens and goats (his favs) and some cows, pigs, even ducks. He gets a pet dog (a Border Collie) named Waffles. He kinda owns a petting zoo of sorts where younger kids just stop by and he educated them about animals and stuff. He also owns a bakery. He names it ‘Buttery Bliss’ or something
24. What do you think i’d a secret they’ve never told anyone?
Probably the thing with his sphincter and how he has to wear diapers in school sometimes. He probably only told AWESOM-O because he thought it was just a robot. But after that he didn’t tell anyone because he would definitely get made fun of :(
25. When do I think he’s acted the most ooc
Probably in The Worldwide Privacy Tour. Kyle even said ‘this is really out of character for you, Butters.’ so probably that lol, or in Going Native. I mean he literally wanted to kill a bunch of innocent people
26. When do I think they were being “themselves” the most?
Honestly? Probably when he was singing the Loo Loo Loo song, it kinda just showed his cuter side. Or in Cartman Sucks when his parents sent him to the Pray teh Gay Away camp because he was just so oblivious to where he was but still stood up for himself and his friends in the end
27. If they could meet a certain character from a different show/movie/book, who would be the most fun for them to meet?
Hello kitty. This kid would be in HEAVEN if Hello kitty was real. Either Hello kitty or Tails the Fox. Him and Tails are pretty similar. Plus fluffy fox meets sunshine boy, they’d get along-or just him in the pokémon world. Yes.
28. The most unnecessary thing they ever did?
Probably when he was trying to get the Hawaiian tourists killed in war
29. How do I think they’d be as a parent?
Honestly? He spoils the shit out of his kids. He’s a huge pushover, but not to the point where his kids become spoiled brats. He probably exposes them to animals early so he could get them to know what’s good and what isn’t when on the farm. He supports his children, but he’s probably a very sheltering parent if that makes sense. Has no idea what he’s doing at first but eventually gets the hang of it. He loves playing make believe with them, would totally play dress up and such.
30. The funniest scene they ever had?
When he’s Professor Chaos and trying to be all menacing and Dougie has to keep telling him the Simpsons already did his idea and he’s just like ‘aw hamburgers :(‘
Hope this is good!

Uhm... I made another one.
Yeeesss, I know, my finals for this semester are coming up, but leave me some freetime xD
Anyway, my best friend sent me another bunch of funny things kids in kindergarten said and I made another TWDG kids template out of it.
So there.
Enjoy! Xd
PS: I had to rewrite some of them because she gave those to me in german and they wouldn't make sense in english, so... excuse the Florida comment xD
Minnie: "I have a unicorn at home! But I ripped out the horn, so it's a not-so-much-corn now."
Sophie: "I always read books at home, my favorite book is Justin Bieber!"
Louis: "My parents have a swing in their bedroom, it must be so much fun, but I'm never allowed to play with it." (...That was disturbing, send help to the poor boy.)
Duck: *talking about future jobs* "I wanna be a whale!"
Ruby: "Yes, I love Spargel! Oh, what's that?" (It was at this moment, that the little girl learned, Spaghetti and Spargel aren't the same. And for my english friends, Spargel is Asparagus.)
Clementine: "Mommy had a baby yesterday! But it is a little bit ugly."
Marlon: *to the new young woman working there* "My dad said everyone needs a job when they grow up. Why don't you have one?"
Mitch: "Remember when you said that I'm not allowed to play with the water in the sink anymore? *soaked from head to toe* "Because I don't."
Louis: "I don't like cucumbers that grow." ( what .)
Willy: "Did you know, that eggs break apart when you throw them? By the way, where is the cleaning set?"
Brody: "You can't play with us, you don't like coffee!" Violet: "But you never drank coffee either!" Brody: "But I like it, because momma likes it!"
Tenn: "You're my kokong." (He meant Cousin.)
Marlon: "I want my reflection to be alive as well, I want to play with it. That's so unfair!" (He didn't understand the concept of twins yet.)
Violet: "I'd eat that very gladly. I just don't want to."
Willy: *after being asked to help clean up the mess* "No thank you, I like it better this way."
Marlon: "Your pants are ugly." Mitch: "You're wearing the same." (And then Marlon threw a tantrum because he felt insulted.)
Aasim: "I have a bunny at home. But sometimes it changes colour." (Again, Aasim are you okay?)
Louis: "My goldfish went to Atlantis today!" (It died.)
Marlon: "My uncle has no eyes, so he got a dog with eyes. I don't want my eyes either, I want a puppy!"
Clementine: "How long does a strawberry tree grow?"
Mitch: "If bears gotta go for little boys, they pee in their fur."
Louis: "I'm there in a second. Geez, I hate it when people say that, what KIND of second, a long or a short one?!"
Violet: "Tastes ugly."
Ruby: "You need to go home, you have 124 meters fever!"
Sophie: "If you destroy my picture, I'll get world destruction!"
Aasim: "I have to computer now."
Louis: "My tummy feels yucky, can you call my mother in law?"
Marlon: "What do you have there?" Louis: "A cough drop!" Marlon: "Woah, I want a tough drop too!"
Ruby: "I lost my fuck in the sandbox, momma!" (She was talking about her toy truck.)
Minnie: "My mom has circus disturbance." (She meant circular disturbance.)
Omar: "Today I have fish sticks with potato pudding!"
Brody: "Look, I'm a mermaid! Now I only need a fork!"
Marlon: "Why is that man shaving the lawn?"
Louis: "But I already ate all my cousins!" (It's raisins, Louis.)
Ruby: "My grandma is in the animal shelter because she can't walk anymore." (Her grandma went into retirement.)
Willy: "My grandpa is magnetic too!" (His grandpa had a prosthetic leg.)
Duck: "My dad is special too, he's from Florida!"
Mitch: "I want more pregnant stamps." Ms. Martin: "...What?" Mitch: "I'm still hungry." Ms. Martin: "Ah, yes, you can have more ravioli."
Duck: "Can I have more weed?" (He meant arugola.)
Sophie: "I only got one motivation left for cleaning up, so I'll hurry."
Louis: "I got a bikini!" (It's a kiwi, Louis.)
Marlon: "Does the CD player google the songs first or why is it taking so long?"
Clementine: "My baba brought me today." Duck: "Huh? I thought you could only eat them?" (...He thought she meant a banana.)

Co-pilots
I wrote this while recovering from covid. I'm hoping it makes sense.
It's a bit of light fluff between two brothers for Fishtank Week
Enjoy! 💚💛
-o-o-o-o-
Co-pilots
Gordon tugged at his collar for the fifth time in less than a minute. He paced the small, luxurious villa like a caged animal. Virgil noticed and exchanged looks with his father.
Jeff nodded and went to the entrance of the villa. “Boys, let’s give Gordon a moment before he has to head down.”
Scott, John and Alan glanced at Jeff and then Gordon before grabbing their things and heading out the open door.
Before he followed his sons, Jeff looked at Virgil. “Less than ten minutes, Virg.”
“Thanks, Dad.”
Jeff nodded, and the door closed softly behind him, leaving the two brothers alone.
“Are you okay, Gordon?” Virgil squeezed his shoulder.
“Yeah, Virg. I’m just peachy….” Gordon ducked away from his brother. “Jesus, it’s hot….” He tugged at his tie. “What was I thinking insisting on a tropical wedding?”
Virgil slapped away Gordon’s hands. “Stop fussing. You’ll wrinkle the linen…You wanted a wedding on the water, and Penny thought you should have a say in your wedding?” He shrugged. “There are worse compromises than Fiji in the Spring.”
“Says the man who married in England in the Spring.”
Dark eyebrows rose. “When it was cold and raining…” Virgil sat on the window seat. “What’s going on, Gordon?”
Gordon paced again before stopping in front of his brother. “Would Penny hate me forever if we called this off?”
Virgil sucked in a breath. “Wow. Gordon….”
“I want to marry her!... I do!.. But…I wanted a simple wedding, Virgil. Not-” he waved his hands. “Whatever this is.”
“A twenty-guest destination wedding.”
“Virgil.”
“On a small resort on a tropical island.”
“Tank!”
“That we rented out for you.”
“I meant a courthouse wedding!”
Rolling his eyes, Virgil placed his hands on his brother’s shoulders.
“You and Penny agreed: a small intimate wedding on the water with lots of tropical flowers and a large, splashy reception for all your friends after your honeymoon… I almost wish we had done this. This is way better than an unheated Norman church. Warmer, too.”
“Stop that!”
“Stop what?”
“Trying to make me feel better.”
“I’m your best man, Gordon. It’s my job.”
Gordon sighed and ran his hands through his hair, causing it to stand on end. “Why am I freaking out? Penny is everything I’ve ever dreamed of…and more.”
“Nerves are normal.”
“Ha! You practically ran down the aisle.”
“I was trying to warm up.” Gordon gave him a look. “I was nervous before my wedding.”
“Really?”
“Yes, really. And I had Scott as a best man….”
“Oh, man. Smotherhen?”
“Compensation overload.”
“Jeez. But you forgave him for interfering long before your wedding.”
Virgil smiled wryly. “Yeah. Have you met Scott?”
“No wonder you ran down the aisle.”
The brothers laughed.
“Oh. I needed that.”
Virgil reached up to tame Gordon’s hair. “Hold still…Are you good?”
“No.” He flapped his hands. “Still freaking….Tell me something that sounds fake but is totally true.”
“Scott was born seven months after our parent’s wedding.”
“That’s not what I-” Gordon stared at Virgil a moment before frowning. “Scott was premature?”
Wearing a shit-eating grin, Virgil shook his head. “Nope.”
Gordon’s eyes grew wide. “Holy shit, Virgil! How did you find that out?”
“Grandma told me.”
Gordon’s jaw dropped. “No! You are shitting me.”
Virgil raised his hand. “Scout’s honour. She told me when I told her Becca was the one.”
“Wow…Dad and Mom got premarital busy…I’m a bit gobsmacked.”
“Dad confirmed it.”
“Wow…” A thought occurred to Gordon. “Hold on. We moved up the wedding because Becca’s due in November.”
“Yeah?”
Gordon did some quick math. “You knocked her up a month after you met?”
“Umm….” Virgil turned beet red. He should have anticipated someone - Gordon - would work it out.
He sighed.
They were expecting twins and wanted it to be a surprise. To account for Rebecca's size, they had subtracted a month from her actual due date, knowing this would imply she had gotten pregnant earlier than she had.
Gordon gasped. “Virgil, you stud!”
He doubled over laughing at the chagrined expression on his brother’s face.
“Holy shit…and we tease Scott for being the speed demon.” He wiped the tears that were running down his face. “That was ballsy, bro.” This made him laugh even harder.
“You’re going to tease me about this forever, aren’t you?”
Gordon gasped for air. “For…fucking…ever…Virg.”
Virgil watched him laugh, waiting for him to calm down. He checked his watch and saw he didn’t have that much time.
He sighed. Desperate times….
“I tried to convince her to let me knock her up the first time we had sex.”
Gordon stopped laughing and stared at his brother.
“I knew that would shut you up,” Virgil said dryly.
“Tank, you are shitting me.”
“Nope.”
“What did she say?”
“She said no.”
“Wise woman.”
Virgil nodded. “This conversation stays between us, Fish. Okay?”
“As God as my witness, Virg.”
“Good.”
“The first time?”
Virgil nodded. “Thankfully, she has more sense than I do.”
“Obviously…You’re…you’re happy, aren’t you?”
Virgil crossed to his brother and placed his hands on his shoulders. “I had no idea it was possible to be this happy.”
“Really?”
“Yep. And once you see Penny walking down the aisle, you’ll feel the same.”
“You think?”
“I know. Hey, would I lie to my second favourite co-pilot?” He straightened Gordon’s tie. “Come on, Fish.” He lightly punched his shoulder and opened the door. “Let’s get you married to your mermaid.”
Virgil walked out into the sun. Gordon began to follow.
“Okay.” He stopped. “...Second favourite?”

survey #214
Your opinion on smoking: I don't think it's a good idea, but you do you. I don't at all support smoking around others that do not consent to it, however; smoking right outside of public spaces even makes me mad. Second-hand smoke has killed an obscene amount of people. You don't have to touch a cigarette to die from lung cancer.
Have you ever wanted a wild animal for a pet? If yes, what animal? I am very serious about rescuing an opossum one day. I would never do this without the proper education and permit though.
Do you like group work? Absolutely not.
Do you have any stickers on your laptop? No, but I'd like some. It's just not something I'm willing to spend money on when you consider I don't have an income, and I certainly don't care enough to ask for laptop stickers as a present.
Does your grass need cut currently? No, the dude who mows our lawn was here not too long ago.
Are you a godparent? No.
Have you ever gone a full day without interacting with another person? Yep.
How many watches do you own? None.
Who was the last person you sincerely thanked? Girt, for just being a great guy.
Have you ever been carded when buying something? Yes.
Can you have more than one best friend? Of course you can.
What was the last thing you drank? At the time I'm answering this question, I have raspberry lemonade-flavored water.
Do you ever wonder if you will get in a car accident and die? Yes, I do. I'm terrified of cars on the road.
One night stand or relationship? One night stands are not for me.
Do you honestly have any regrets? Yes.
Who was the last girl to say something to you? My mom.
New tats in your near future? No. Of course I WANT loads more, but they're just not my priority right now.
How about piercings or re-piercings? Again, probably not soon, despite wanting more. I'll maybe ask for a nose piercing for Christmas, but that's not exactly soon.
Have you ever had a tattoo covered up or added to? Two actually. I plan on covering one more (it's very simple and VERY badly placed since it takes up such prime skin real estate for a bigger piece and I want to redesign it and place it elsewhere), and if possible, I actually plan on tampering with my Markiplier tribute tattoo; I no longer want his logo. Not because I don't like him anymore or have forgotten what his content got me through, but it's just not... relevant to my interests anymore. I would have to talk with tattoo artists to see if it's doable, but I'd actually like to adapt it to JUST a space background and, over time, expand the tattoo over the area more to add people and pets I treasured who have passed away, floating in space looking happy with astronaut helmets. I REALLY want this. It'd finally be a prime place to implement Teddy's dedication tattoo, and certainly I'd add my mom when she passes, probably even Steve Irwin, etc. etc.
Have you ever kissed someone who has previously kissed someone you hated? Yes, Jason.
Do you have any relatives with red hair? I don't think I do. My maternal grandma dyed her hair a reddish color, but it wasn't natural.
What’s your favorite kind of pasta? Just your average spaghetti with normal sauce, and add meatballs.
Have you ever had rabies? Nope.
Do you know anyone who ever had to get a rabies shot? I think so?
Ever eaten deer? Duck? Squirrel? How about lamb? No. I've heard lamb is delicious and I kinda have this urge to try it, but... the idea of eating a literal baby animal fucks with me and I don't think I really want to.
Does your car have heated seats? No, Mom's car is extremely old.
Have you ever been tempted to steal? From my friend as a kid, haha. I was OBSESSED with Dory from Finding Nemo and she managed to get the Dory toy that McDonald's had at some point and I was so envious. Of course I didn't actually take it, though.
Would you rather travel to Ireland or Japan? Ireland.
Does tickling turn you on? It sure doesn't.
What is the age gap between you and your parents? Mom is like two years older.
How many bathrooms does your house have? Is this enough? Two, yes.
Have you ever dated someone who was emotionally or mentally unstable? Yup.
Be honest: are you clingy? Not SEVERELY, but I am. I know how to control clingy urges though, like Girt always says I'm clingy enough for him to feel very loved but also not overwhelmed or like I'm pushing myself on him, he thinks it's a perfect balance.
Have you ever had bronchitis? No, thankfully.
Have you ever had a reptile for a pet? Multiple! My first was Shadow, a Chinese water dragon (I was a kid and they were very improperly cared for, they are not beginner reptiles and I had no idea what I was doing, but they lived the species' full lifespan and was a sweet thing, I hope the sweetheart knows how much I loved them and how differently I'd do things now), and I've also had two snakes in my past: Mona Lisa (died very mysteriously, I was devastated) and Cato, who died VERY quickly because they came to me with some sort of intestinal issue. Don't buy animals from PetSmart. 🙃🙃🙃🙃 Now I've had a champagne ball python morph named Venus for many years, she's my darling. I plan on having MANY more reptiles throughout my life.
Are you afraid of the dentist? I sure am. I never really was until I started to pay for the neglect of my teeth and had painful, scary procedures, plus the extraction of my wisdom teeth without being put to sleep because we couldn't afford it. I had bad problems with not brushing from my depression, simply forgetting, and executive dysfunction, but OH yeah I've learned my lesson and take much better care of them now.
Did you attend Sunday School as a child? I was forced to. Trust me, I wouldn't have gone if I had the choice. I harbor a lot of bitterness about this. I know my mom just wanted the best for me, to be a "saved" child of her god, but I KNOW religion being forced on me played a ginormous role in why I'm so hateful towards its existence, because faith caused me a lot of hell and self-conflict.
Your boyfriend/girlfriend isn’t around but their phone is. Do you look through it? No, because I trust him fully.
Have you ever liked anyone that was in a relationship with someone else? More than once. My first crush had a girlfriend, but they were struggling and he confided in me a lot.
Do you think your last ex ever thinks about you? Oh, I know she does. But not positively. She's an extremely hateful person and how dare I betray her by not keeping her being a Nazi a secret.
Would you rather have salad or french fries for a side dish? If I ever, EVER, order a salad over fries, ask with great concern if I'm okay.
Which one of your relationships was the shortest? With Juan. It didn't even last 24 hours.
Which was the longest? Over three and a half years.
Have any of your exes told you they regret breaking up with you? No.
Are you going to be getting any new pets soon? Not soon. I might be talking my mom into a velvet spider for Christmas, though... I talked about it with her recently, and they're small and OBNOXIOUSLY cute (even though she didn't quite think so lol), but because of their size, harmlessness, and I think especially my passion when talking about it, I think she might FINALLY acquiesce about me getting a pet spider. I will fucking cry if she agrees to it come Christmastime. It's no tarantula, but it's still a spider species I adore.
Do you like BBQ sauce? No, I literally hate it.
What do you like to do when you’re home alone? The same thing I do when Mom's here: I do shit on my computer. The only difference is I rarely listen to stuff without earplugs.
Should the guy always pay for the date? lmao shut the fuck up
Do you like Frozen? I don't hate it, I think people claim to hate it just to say they do, but I don't necessarily like it either. There are much better Disney movies.
Do you use Instagram often? Yes, more than usual as of the late.
What is one question you don’t like being asked? What I do for a job or what I even do in my free time.
Who is someone you know who is talkative? My nephew, haha.
Do you know anyone who plays the violin? Not that I know of.
Out of all your usernames for websites, which one is your favorite? Do you use it for more than one site? Ozzkat. It's what I use for most places.
Have you ever spent the whole day (or multiple days) just looking up one thing on the internet (e.g., videos of your favorite band, how-to videos, quizzes, etc.)? Bro I'm autistic, this is my LIFE
If someone told you that we live in a society that hates women, how would you respond? Absolutely agree.
Which of your breakups was the hardest for you to get over? ANYONE who reads these knows it was Jason.
What did you have for dinner last night? We had breakfast for dinner: eggs, sausage, and biscuits. The sausage was a brand Mom had never gotten before and it was the best I'd ever had, but of COURSE it was a more expensive brand haha, so I doubt that'll be common to have.
Do you write poetry? If so, what kind of poetry do you write? I did, mostly just angsty stuff as I dealt with mental illness. I haven't written a poem in a long time, but I actually do have concepts written down that are much more positive and hopeful.
Have your parents traveled to any countries that you have not been to? No.
What's your favorite type of gemstone? Opals of various sorts. I'm also fond of rubies.
Would you rather take a class in fencing or archery? Archery, by far.
Have you ever had a stalker? No, not to my knowledge. For which I am extremely thankful.
What was the last strong scent you smelled? A dead animal somewhere, I think.
When was the last time you changed your outfit? This evening, when Girt and I got home from Charlotte from him getting the exercise bike Javier was selling. I changed into my pjs.
What was the last thing you took a picture of? The worm snake I found at Ashley's house and showed the kids!
What were the positives and negatives of your last week? Positives are definitely multiple instances where I've really challenged my fears. The most obvious negative is I'm not as happy as I could be with my new psychiatrist; she's not as bad as the last, but still quite rude, EXTREMELY interruptive when I or Mom are talking, and just made me feel like a total fucking idiot.
What is one of your wildest dreams or ambitions? To have a photograph published by National Geographic.
What was the subject of your last phone conversation? My dad called me to talk about fishing plans. I still think fishing for fun and not consumption (re-released fish can easily encounter infection and die) is a mean, selfish thing to do, but... for the sake of bonding with my dad (who I very rarely see) and nephew, I am willing to choke on my morals here and enjoy something I did as a child with my family.
What are your plans for tomorrow? How about the weekend? Big ol' nothing. Today was a long day. It is the weekend.
What did the last jacket you wore look like? It's just a very simple, plain black with a hood. Quite sure the material is cotton.

Mother's Day is coming up so here's my top 5 movies to watch with mom or grandma
I lost my mom a year ago but it only feels like a month, and I was really close to my mom and grandma my whole life. Like, I came to them for everything. They were the two people I love most and I still love them most. Here's some movies I recommend for Mother's Day, and you can sit and have a fun time with your mom or grandma and watch these, there's some funny ones on the list.
(Sing a bit of Harmony, 2021) This one isn't really a mother-daughter story but the mother plays an important role in the story by building Shion in the first place. It's about a robot girl who can sing, but everyone has to keep it a secret. Shion causes trouble for the main character, when she's supposed to be there for good reasons. I'm not gonna give spoilers, just watch it!
(CatDog & the Great parent Mystery, 2001) The only conjoined twin who happen to be a cat and dog, have to set off to find their parents. The majority of the movie doesn't have much to do with the parents, but the fact that they look so hard to find them is the point. I chose it for mother's day mostly because my grandma and I were huge CatDog fans, and my mom kind of was too. Yes, it's basically a long episode of the cartoon series, I consider it a movie because it was 40 minutes long, but it was basically a long episode. Actually, a lot of Nickelodeon shows had movies, besides SpongeBob. CatDog was just one of the lesser known "Nicktoons".
(Storks, 2016) Oh gosh, this one is an all time favorite of mine, and my mom loved it too. A lot of people liked it, but I still think it's underrated. Some people are super picky about movies, but I think this movie appeals to me in a lot of ways. The characters are adorable. I LOVE the designs, especially Tulip's. Like, she looks more like a normal girl and not a Disney princess. She looks cute, but they didn't try to make her look "sexy" or anything, they just make her look like a normal girl. Junior's design is also adorable and I love birds, and I love the adorable babies in it too. The story is amazing and shows a different perspective for once, like the fact that they're trying to get the baby to her family meanwhile Tulip has to find her family, but focuses on the baby first! It's incredible and I suggest to anyone!
(WonderPark, 2019) I'm not sure why this movie gets so much hate, it's actually a beautiful movie! Yes, it's not perfect, but I can tell that they worked hard on the story and I feel like they were really trying to appeal to the 9-12 year old audience, because this is almost like a coming-of-age type of story and has a lot to do with the girl's imagination and depression, with her mother being far away. It's better than a lot of movies, in my opinion, but it's not one of my top favorites. It's super emotional and I don't like crying a lot.
(Brave, 2011) Okay, this one of the only Disney movies I don't cringe at, you know me, I'm not a Disney fan! I don't recommend this for Mother's Day because it's a bit sad, not for me at least. If you and your mother or grandmother enjoy this, then go ahead! I never watched it with my mom or grandma. (When I was a kid, my uncle took me to see it in theaters, and then when we rented the DVD of it at the library, the disk was all beat up, and as my mom and grandma got older, my mom refused to watch it because of it being to sad). I don't gotta describe the movie, everyone knows Brave! One of the best Disney movies in my opinion. Mulan, Brave, Luca, and Encanto are probably the bests in my opinion, although Teen Beach Movie and Lilo & Stich are good too, not my favorite tho. I'm just not a Disney fan, even though I like some of their movies.
Anyway, you heard about my favorites, now. I could have added Duck Duck Goose but it's not really a Mother's Day one. It could be I guess, but it could be a Father's Day one too. My mom watched it on Father's Day in 2020 because my dad was watching his wild west movies LOL, I'm glad I had her! Tell me what you think, I'd love to chat with people in the comments and hear their opinions.

Weetzie Bat by Francesca Lia Block

Block, Francesca Lia. Dangerous Angels: The Weetzie Bat Books. HarperTeen, 2010.
Summary-
Weetzie Bat is the first book in The Weetzie Bat Books series Dangerous Angels written by Francesca Lia Block. Weetzie Bat follows an eccentric non-conformist teenager named Weetzie and her best friend Dirk, an attractive gay punk man, in an otherworldly 1980’s Los Angeles as they attempt to find love and a ‘Happily Ever After’. Weetzie is obsessed with everything Hollywood and is determined to become a star someday. In their free time Weetzie and Dirk hang out with Dirk’s eccentric grandma Fifi gossiping about celebrities, watching old movies, and telling her about how unlucky they have been while ‘duck hunting.’ Duck hunting is what Weetzie and Dirk call dating and looking for men, otherwise known in this book as “Ducks.” Weetzie and Dirk had no luck dating, and after Weetzie has a run in with a particularly abusive duck Fifi takes pity on them and gives Weetzie a golden lamp. When Weetzie opens the golden lamp, a genie pops out to grant her three wishes, to which Weetzie replies “I wish for a Duck for Dirk, and My Secret Agent Lover Man for me, and a beautiful little house for us to live in happily ever after” (19). Fifi passes away soon after and leaves Dirk and Weetzie her house to live in together. Not long after Dirk falls in love with a boy named Duck and Weetzie falls for someone who is actually named My Secret Agent Lover Man. The four live together and make money by playing rolls in the movies My Secret Agent Lover Man writes and directs. Weetzie gets to accomplish her dream of becoming a star, but still feels unfulfilled and decides she wants a baby. Unfortunately, her boyfriend does not want a baby, but Dirk and Duck do. Weetzie decides to sleep with Dirk and Duck to get pregnant and the three decide they are going to raise the baby together. When her boyfriend finds out he is furious and leaves her. After she has the baby, which she names Cherokee, her boyfriend comes back and decides he wants to raise the child too because he loves Weetzie so much. After he comes back a witchy woman shows up at their door claiming she is pregnant with Weetzie’s boyfriend’s baby. Weetzie’s boyfriend gives the witchy woman money for an abortion, but nine months later a baby with voodoo dolls in her carrier shows up on their doorstep. They all ultimately decide to raise the baby nicknaming her Witch Baby.
Weetzie soon finds out that her dad who lived in New York passed away and was devastated. Her parents separated when she was younger, but she always hoped her father would come back to L.A to live with her and the little family she had created. While the house is still heavy with grief as everyone grieves Weetzie’s father, Duck finds out one of his friends is very sick. He runs away from the house leaving a note explaining why, in that note he says “Even though we’re okay, how can anyone love anyone when you could kill them just by loving them?” Although it is never stated, it is implied that Duck’s friend has AIDS which makes Duck worry he may have it too. This implication is strengthened when Dirk goes out looking for Duck in the dance clubs they used to frequent in San Francisco and remarks that “…there were fewer men than he remembered from the last time he has been there with Duck…” (65). When Dirk finally finds Duck, he convinces him to come home where the four of them live and raise their two children happily.
Personal Response-
Reading Weetzie Bat was an extremely unique experience that brought a sense of comfort to me that I have not felt since I was a small child. The primary reason for this is the Author Francesca Lia Block’s insanely unique writing style. Block utilizes a minimalistic, matter of fact style of writing that is most commonly seen in children’s fables and fairytales. When I first picked up the book, I was not a huge fan and saw the writing as far too simple to be immersive, but as I continued reading, I was immersed in an unimaginable way. I was able to become immersed in the story with no barriers at all, the language was so simple that the details came through as clear as day and I felt like Weetzie Bat’s world was being laid at my feet. I loved the way the minimalist writing style interacted with the maximalist glitz and glamour of Hollywood and eccentric nature of Weetzie and her lifestyle. The book was a quick read, but left me wanting to read it again and again, which is something I cannot do with most books. Every time I pick up the book, I find something new or find a new way to interpret what Block was alluding to. Overall, I would highly recommend the book as a quick relaxing read that leaves you feeling nostalgic but seen as a human being just trying to find their ‘happily ever after.’
Connection-
Weetzie Bat is technically a coming-of-age story which is and in turn is considered YA fiction but I think it also would work as New Adult fiction. Weetzie and Dirk are teenagers when we begin the story but quickly transition into the real world as they move in with each other and try and find their own places in the world. Weetzie Bat also discusses common YA topics of finding love, happiness, and fulfillment, even if it does not look like what you thought it would. I think this book hits a sweet spot in YA literature for several reasons, but the most prominent one being its use of language and how it impacts the story. Block’s use of language lends itself surprisingly well to talking about more difficult subjects such as death, infidelity, sexuality, grief, and even the HIV epidemic of the 80’s. She writes about them concisely and without going into the graphic details so many people detest. Sometimes she never even explicitly states the topic at all, leaving the reader to come to their own conclusions based on what she has alluded. I have seen several books within the last year be banned for discussing the same important issues as Weetzie Bat, but I believe Block’s unique writing style has managed to shield her from the brunt of controversy.
I would absolutely teach this book in my future high school English classroom. One of the biggest reasons is that the language is simple enough that it would be able to meet most students where they are regarding language and reading proficiency. The book also uses figurative language wonderfully including allusion, which many books can make too complicated for beginners to fully dissect. Finally, the book contains important issues like the ones mentioned in the previous paragraph, as well as some problematic stereotypes and language regarding other cultures, all of which would be good to start conversations in the classroom about important real-world issues.

Inside Out
Niki steps out of the library and unzips her hoodie to help her body adjust to the change in temperature. She rubs her hands together to warm the tips of her fingers that still feel a bit frozen and steps into the warmth of the sun with a contented sigh.
Squinting up at the sky, she lifts her arms above her head in a well-deserved stretch. Her arms come down in an uncoordinated flop, while her eyes flicker absentmindedly across the greens until they catch on a familiar figure across the lawn. The woman is standing and staring at her phone with furrowed eyebrows. Niki approaches with surprise and concern. When she’s within ear shot she speaks.
“Mom?”
The woman turns around, a look of uncertainty on her face until her eyes land on Niki. She breaks into a nervous smile, “Hi, Sweetheart.”
Niki’s blood runs cold. Taking a step towards her mom, she blurts out her first thoughts. “What's wrong? Is Dad okay?”
“He's fine.”
Her Mom’s placating tone makes her heart rate pick up even more.
“Is it grandma?”
“Everything’s fine. Everyone’s okay,” her mom assures, but Niki is still having trouble believing her. Probably sensing this, her mom speaks again. “Why don't we head into one of the cafeterias to have lunch?”
Niki takes a deep breath. “Yeah…sure.” She takes a look around her, tries to reorient herself with her surroundings. She spots the Green Bean and gestures towards it, “This way.”
They walk the few yards to the cafeteria in silence, Niki trying to wrack her brain for a reason to explain her mom’s visit. She gets to the door first and holds it open. Her mom offers a smile of thanks and they head straight to the counter. The place is empty and Niki is grateful because she doesn’t think she can deal with the anxiety of having to wait in a line right now and make small talk with her mom while pretending her stomach isn't actually churning with fear.
She hasn't figured it out yet. If no one is sick, what else could her mom want to talk to her about that's so serious she had to come in person?
They both pick up basic salads and Niki swipes her cafeteria card while her mom chooses a table somewhere in the back. It dawns on her on the way to the table and she halts in panic. Henry had messaged to apologize this morning. She hadn’t had the time to ask him what for. Now she knows. He’d cracked, and now her parents know everything.
Niki takes deliberate steps to the table. She puts down her plate opposite her mom’s and pulls out her chair before hooking her bag onto its back. When she’s turned around her mom has already picked up her fork. She offers Niki another weak smile before starting her salad.
Niki watches quietly, her own food untouched. She lets out a tired sigh. It’s probably best if they just get this over with.
“Mom…” She watches as the tension sets into her mother’s shoulders and back, but she continues, “Why are you here?”
Her mom looks up at her, a tense smile painted on her face. It brightens into the real thing before she says, “Do I really need a reason to visit my favourite daughter?”
Niki tries to offer a bright smile in return at the overused joke, but it feels forced at the edges and she’s sure her mom can tell. So she ducks her head instead and starts to pick at her salad.
They sit in the silence for a beat when Niki decides to just go for it. Without looking up, she mutters, “I’m sorry…”
“Niki…” her mom starts.
“No. I am. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about the trip to the hospital.” Her mom is eerily quiet, but Niki puts her fork down and presses on. “I was…I…” She winces.
She doesn't know how to explain herself. She doesn't know how to get her to understand. What if it doesn't matter? What if she can't convince them that she's okay? What if they make her leave in the middle of the semester?
“Please don’t make me go home!” are the words she finally blurts, her right hand on the table in a tight fist.
A warm hand covers hers and she’s able to relax it a bit, but she doesn’t look up. She can’t. Instead, she stares into the spinach on her plate.
“Niki..”
Tears well in Niki’s eyes.
“Kitty…” Her mom tries again, a sucker punch to the gut at the use of the nickname. “Kitty, look at me.”
Niki looks up and her mom looks so sad that she almost crumbles under the weight of the words echoing in her head, “You did this. You did this. You did this.”
Her mom looks her in the eye and takes a deep, shaky breath. “We're not going to make you do anything.” Niki holds her breath. “You're an adult. And you've grown so much.” Her mom smiles at her with something that Niki won’t let herself believe is pride. “We trust that you know your limits…we trust you.” Her mom is quiet for a moment. “And I'm so sorry that we didn't make it easier for you to trust us.”
All the air whooshes out of Niki at once, as her eyes fall shut. It’s like the exhale empowers the tears to escape too, as tracks of saltwater run down her face. Niki swipes roughly at her cheeks with her free hand.
“It's not—” she croaks and has to swallow to get rid of the lump in her throat. She tries again, “I do trust you.”
When Niki opens her eyes again, her mom is sitting in the chair next to her and pulling her in close. Once again she’s grateful for the lack of patrons.
“I just…I didn't want to scare you guys,” she mumbles into her mom’s shoulder. Gently, Niki’s mom pushes her away to arm’s length where she can look at her again. Her mom brushes away another tear and this time Niki keeps her eyes open, but she can’t bring herself to look her mom in the eye, so she focuses on a button on her shirt instead.
“I feel like the last time I was in the hospital…it broke you.”
Niki tried and failed to stifle the sob that racked her chest, but before it was even half way out, her mom was pulling her in again, so close this time that her chin was resting on Niki’s head.
“Kitty…” Niki could hear the earnestness in her voice. She exhales another shaky breath before continuing. “It's not your job to protect us.”
She pulls away again to look at her. Niki offers her a timid look, but at least she manages to look her in the eye.
Her mom offers her a wry smile. “We're the parents. Protecting is our job.”
“But—”
“No buts. We're big people. We can handle it. That's what we signed up for when we decided to have you.”
Niki offers her a dubious look as if to say, “There’s no way you signed up for this.”
Her mom only smiles at the look. “It’s true.” She shrugs, before admitting in a conspiratorial tone, “Of course we were a lot more excited about attending graduations and dance recitals.”
Niki lets out something between a sob and a laugh. She sniffles and her mom cups her face, still smiling.
“I can't say we were expecting track meets…” In a quieter voice, she continues, “...or hospital trips.”
Niki’s eyes squeeze closed and her mom only pulls her in to press a kiss against her hairline, before fitting her under her chin again.
“But we signed up for it all. We've been all in from day one.” She’s quiet for a beat. Niki feels like she may even be rocking them from side to side a little. She doesn’t seem to even know she’s doing it.
“I remember the first ultrasound. Your dad and I couldn't understand how we could love someone so much even though we'd never met them. And then we did…we met you and I don't know how it was possible but we fell in love with you even more.”
Niki takes in a sharp breath and all it does is fill her lungs with her mom’s familiar scent. She’s living in another country, struggling with her physical and mental health, trying to figure out the trajectory of her future and feeling so lost. To top it off, she’s sitting in a campus cafeteria, crying her eyes out, but at this point, she doesn’t care. Because the Green Bean has always smelled a little weird, but tucked into her mom, today it smells like home.
“Nikita…” Her mom is rubbing her back in soothing circles now. “Your father and I love you. Have always loved you. Inside out, okay?”
And that’s it. That’s all it takes, two words and Niki can’t hold it in anymore. Both hands reach up to grip the sleeves of her mom’s blazer and she holds on as if for dear life. She holds on and she cries. Niki cries. She cries for all the times she’s felt so alone. She cries for all the times she's felt like a bad daughter, a bad friend, a bad person. She cries for all the times she’s willed herself not to, for when she’s bit her lip and tilted her head back to blink back the tears filling her eyes. She cries because she can’t stop now. She cries because she doesn’t have to stop.
Somewhere in the back of the Green Bean, Niki cries, and her mom holds her.
