i understand that one con person who measured how far away their brother would be at college by how long it would take to drive because when my family moved across the country we didn’t fly and instead spent 13 days in a car

When you say, “Oh I’m inlove with my best friend!” People generally give you the reasons why it could all go to shit. There’s also the fun part about it, having your significant other being someone you already love. They know what you like, and your family already loves them.
It’s like a whole dilemma, playing a constant game of ‘They like me’ ‘They like me not’. A whole story in a way. There’s always the beginning where you don’t know if they like you back or not, it could also determine rather if your whole friendship is just fucked right there and then.
Then maybe in the slight chance they feel the same! Along with the silence of a great lack of communication. Do you date? Do you just ignore everything? Or do you distance yourselves in the fear of being hurt..?
Then always the constant fear in the back of your head that keeps pounding, “Will they be there forever?” Thats the question you can’t really answer, life determines it all correct.
There are realms, dimensions even that have every single possibility and sadly you can only see one of them at a time. So there you are deciding which path your going to drive down, right or left? Or do you even want to go at all..
Strangely enough tho it seems somewhat impossible, there’s a path where you two end up together. Inlove and happy, spending nights at each other’s houses while holding one another. A different bond from others, having each other no matter what.
But that’s not always the case..
═ ∘♡༉∘ ═
“Oh shut up! Turn right in 2.4 miles” “How the bloody hell am I supposed to know when 2.4 miles is!” George laughed looking over at the phone to check the map. “.4 miles from 2?” I grinned to myself like a dork, looking out the window.
“You are an absolute idiot. Go get your license already so I can criticize your driving skills.” He said putting his hand on my thigh, as I sit back getting comfortable in the leather seat. “Hey hey atleast I’ll know-“ “Don’t you dare say 2.4 miles” “I’ll know when two point four miles is...” I giggled hiding my face in his hoodie, pulling the strings over my face.
He pulled over to the side of the road where thankfully no cars were passing by. Unbuckling his seatbelt before reaching over the dashboard tickling my sides, while I laughed trying to swat his arms away like a fly. “That- that is not fair.” I rolled my eyes, slouching in the leather seat. “Yeah yeah, let’s go stupid I’m hungry.”
═ ∘♡༉∘ ═
It all feels right, planning out your whole future in your head. The ring size and what flowers and music you’ll have at the wedding. The secret to pain is that it comes from the ones we hold precious. The love blinds us from the crumpling hole we dug into.
“Mm guess who!” I said putting my hands over his eyes. “Elena?” My smile dropped a little bit but I just shrugged it off thinking it’s just him playing along. “Guess again stupid” I removed my hands and he smiled looking up at me putting down his pen. “Oh well hello” He says pulling out a chair for me to sit in which I accept.
“So how have your classes been so far?” I ask taking one of his Fritos. “It’s been okay I guess, but In coding we have this partner project. How about you?” I took a second to think about it before remembering, “Oh that’s nice, just the usual honestly. I have a free period after this, and I was wondering if you wanna go off campus for lunch?”
He looked at me with a disappointed smile. “I’m sorry, me and my partner are going to work on the art thing..” I look down still smiling a small ping in my heart. “No it’s alright, if you need any help I’m always here.” He pressed a chaste kiss to my cheek before leaving into the hallways, the warmth of his lips vomited to linger.
I’ve always been confused whenever it comes to coding. Different numbers and the amount of things that could go wrong. They scare me a bit, the different possibilities they can do with a little computer.
═ ∘♡༉∘ ═
“Hey hon, I was thinking we could catch that movie we’ve been talking about.” I walk up to my boyfriend who was seated next to this really hot chick..
“Hm? Oh right yeah maybe sometime. N/n this is Elena, the partner from the coding project I told you about.” George introduced, I looked over at her as she held a hand out for me to shake.
“Hey! Oh wow I love your shirt, where did you get it from?” A couple locks of her brown hair had fallen onto her face, as I suddenly felt more insecure. “This? Oh I just stole it out of my sisters closet, I’ll ask where she got it from.” Something about her voice, how it slightly rasped but still continued to flow.
I glanced at George whos gaze was pointed at Elena. “Yeah I think I’m free tonight I’ll pick you up, now if you’ll excuse me I have to get to class, walk with me?” I take his hand as we say goodbye walking twords our next destination.
═ ∘♡༉∘ ═
I waited on the sofa in my small apartment, continuously checking the time. The clock ticked over and over again as I counted. 5 minutes turned into ten, I had enough when it turned into 50.
My head lifted up running twords the ringing phone. “George where the hell are you? It’s 8:55” I scolded at my phone. “I’m sorry, I can’t make it. I promise I’ll make it up to you.” I scoffed hanging up.
Days became more distant, more and more excuses popped up. The same ones over and over again, every time I see you in the hallways she’s next to you. The once 3 hour calls now cut down to minutes.
I drove down the street excited to tell you I had finally got the thing that we both spent weeks practicing for. Different colors as the lights changes from red to green. Small stop signs in the suburban area forcing me to stop.
Walking into the small cafe where we had claimed as our spot, you sat there with her the one I had been insecure about, whom I’ve trusted with you. Both your lips interlocked as she giggled pulling your hair.
Now every time I drive down that very street or pass your house on the way, I feel as if I were to break and crumble apart. Wishing you were in my passenger seat as we ate chilli dogs and drank milkshakes, except now your with her.

there are two types of tired i suppose
the one in need of dire sleep;
the other is a dire need of peace
Tallulah tried her best to fly under her family's radar leading up to Friday and she had her plan all set for her to go out to Port Angeles and still be home in time for her curfew. She had spending whatever time she wasn’t in school with Paul, helping him with little things around Uley's Bookstore, whether that be painting structures or filling shelves with books, Tallulah made sure on Thursday to tell him she would be hanging out with August and Rory on Friday so that if her dad asked him where she was he would be unknowingly involved in her lie.
After school on Friday, Tallulah quickly changed out of her school clothes into a striped, oversized crew neck and navy blue tennis skirt. Throwing her hair into a slicked back ponytail before rushing down the stairs, telling her dad she was off to see her friends, which wasn’t a lie, she just didn’t specify which ones.
Tallulah was practically shaking with excitement as she pulled out of her driveway, whether it be because she was excited to see her friends for the first time in 2 weeks or because she knew she wasn’t supposed to be seeing them, she was unsure of.
The drive to Port Angeles, Tally spent feeling unnerved. All the confidence had left her mind as she exited Forks. Something felt wrong. It’s not like she’s never snuck out and lied about her whereabouts before, the feeling felt different from the adrenaline that usually accompanied her. Out of the corner of her high she could see her phone light up, the incessant dinging of incoming text messages. She ignored them, telling herself it's because she knew better than to text and drive but mostly because she wasn’t prepared to read them. Had her plan already been ruined? Her phone ringing shook her from her thoughts, she grabbed it and checked the caller ID: Paul Lahote, its bright white letters. She wanted to let it ring, to just ignore him, but she couldn’t. Answering the phone and putting on her speakerphone, setting it on the passenger seat, she said as calmly as possible, “Hey, whats up?”, only to be met with an anger, “Where are you?”.
Tallulah was caught off guard by his tone of voice, she would have never expected it from him in the slightest.
“I’m just driving to August’s” she lied, she could hear someone telling Paul to calm down on the other end, with an angry laugh, he asked, “Oh yeah? Since when does she live off the rez?” before she could even respond, he continued, “Where are you really?”
“Why does it matter to you where I am?” she bit back, “Why does it matter?” he repeated her question, “Because you matter to me, Tallulah!” he all but yelled into the phone before the sound of the phone being dropped rang out into her silent car. She could hear the background commotion, but nothing was coherent to her as she was still trying to process what he had said.
“Tallulah?” a feminine voice rang through, “It’s Emily. Where are you, sweetie?” she asked calmly despite the audible commotion that had just occurred on her end of the phone. She wanted to lie again. It’s what she really wanted, but couldn’t bring herself to do it. “Port Angeles,” Tallulah said quickly before reaching over and hitting the end call before Emily could ask any more questions knowing she wouldn’t be able to lie anymore.
Pulling into the parking lot of the club they were all meeting at, she could see her friends standing next to Xanders sleek black car that he had been gifted on his 16th birthday. She thought she would feel more excitement when seeing Lina, Kit and Xander for the first time in weeks but all she could feel was the ache in her chest, or maybe it was regret. Parking her car, Tallulah quickly got out, grabbing her bag and shoving her phone in it, the onslaught of text messages she had received remaining unread.
She could hear Linas squeals of excitement before both her feet had touched the ground and two pairs of arms wrapped her up in a group hug, “I’ve missed you guys so much” she said as Kit and Lina let her free, big grins on all three girls faces.
“What about me?” a deep voice teased, she looked over to see Xander leaning against his car, smirking at her.
“Of course I missed you, just not as much as them.” she joked, making her way over to him, wrapping her arms around his neck in a hug before kissing his cheek as she let him go. “You’re a lot harder to replace than I thought you would be.”Tallulah said, earning her a scoff from him, “You would never want to replace me.” Xander spoke in all seriousness, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. Everything was just like she left it, and she loved that. The group of friends got into the building no problem, the perks of looking older than you are, Tallulah thought to herself.
Lina and Kit went to get drinks for everyone while Xander and Tallulah found an empty booth, his arm never leaving her shoulders. They sat beside each other in the booth and she looked up towards him as he said, “I have something for you.”
She furrowed her brows, she could barely remember the last time he had given her something that wasn’t a holiday or a birthday, “You did?” she asked to which he nodded his head, digging into his jeans pocket, he pulled out a slick, thin grey rectangle. “Li said you dad tossed yours. Hide it better this time, yeah.” tallulah nodded her head in agreement before taking it from his hand, but if she was being honest with herself, she didn’t feel the need to have one anymore. She had no cravings for it, and no stressors that made her even want to use it, it would just end up collecting dust somewhere in her room until she could find an excuse to use it.
“I missed you too, y’know.” he said with a toothy grin, “Nothings been the same without you.” Tallulah smiled at that, glad to know her friends weren’t doing better than she was with the sudden change.
Lina and Kit found their table, four drinks with them, placing one in front of Xander and one in front of Tallulah, “In celebration of the crew being back together,”Lina said with a big smile on her face. Tallulah knew she shouldn’t drink considering she was driving but sipping the crisp alcohol would at least keep her friends off her case, so that's what she did for the next thirty minutes as they all caught up.
Before she knew it, Kit was pulling out onto the dance floor to dance with her and anyone else they could find. The music was loud and the adrenaline was pumping. She felt hands on her waist as someone came up behind her, her hips swaying with the music, she turned her body towards the person holding her firmly, turning to see Xander, she smiled brightly wrapping her arms around his neck, he bent his head down and said in to her ear, over the loud music, “You should come back with us tonight, you can crash at my place.”
Tallulah shook her head, “My dad would literally kill me, Xan.” he laughed nonchalantly, and she became very aware of how close their bodies were, “It’ll be fine, Luie, live a little. I really want you to.” he wanted her to, she thought to herself, looking up at him. He never tells her what he wants, he just does it. “I can't,” she said while standing on her tippy toes to say it into his ear, before she could flatten her feet he had turned his head and pressed his lips to hers, in a rushed, sloppy kiss. Much like the ones they had shared many times before. He pulled away first, “Xan, that's not gonna change my mind.”
He pouted like a little kid about to throw a tantrum, “But I’ve missed you so much and we don’t even know when we will be able to see each other again” he rationed to her, and Tallulah just shook her head, it’s not that she didn’t want to, it's just that this is how they always were together. One minute all over each other they next not speaking, “I haven’t even heard from you in the past two weeks besides that one phone call”
Xander rolled his eyes at her statement, “I can’t spend every waking moment talking to you, Luie, just relax,” he said. Before she could even respond his lips were on hers again, but all she could think about was how cold he felt. Not abnormally cold, just cold. It was uncomfortable.
Pulling back, she said, “We should go find the others,” to which Xander shook his head, “Come on, I haven’t seen you for weeks,” his hands were firm on her arms holding her in place as he leaned in again. Turning her head, his lips connected with her cheek. Now he was pulling back, taking a deep breath, trying not to lose his cool with her, “Really, Luie, you’re doing this again?”
“Doing what again? Is it such a crime that I don’t want to makeout with you in some dinghy club?” she asked him, annoyance laced in her tone. He shook his head, his shaggy hair falling in front of his face, “You always do this!” he exclaimed, “You can’t just act the way you have been all night, and then turn around and say never mind.”
Tallulah looked at him like he was out of his mind, “Yes, I can, Xan. And I am.” she said, standing her ground with him. “But Luie,” That fucking nickname, she thought to herself, “We don’t know when the next time we will see eachother is,” He used the same excuse as before. His hand was now on her lower back, holding her flush against him, “Stop, Xan.'' She tried to push him away, but with the awkward angle of her arms she found it hard. “You’ve always liked this, Luie,”he whispered in her ear, his lips brushed up against it as he spoke, “Get off!” she shoved at him, and before she knew it, he was being yanked away from her. Taking a few steps back to steady herself, she didn’t recognize the boy who had pulled Xander and as he took a step towards her, asking her if she was okay, she took a step back. Blood was pounding in her ears, lookin at Xanders retreating figure, no doubt going to find Lina.
A hand rested on her shoulder, the comforting warmth of it gave away who it was before she had even turned to look at him. Paul. Once she had turned to him she wrapped her arms around his waist, wanting nothing more than to feel the safety of the heat emitting off him. “I’m sorry. I should have told you.” She spoke quickly, and shakily. His arms encircled her, one on her back, the other in her hair, holding her head to his chest, holding her to him, “It’s okay. You’re okay.” he murmured to her softly.
“Embry, you take my car. I’ll drive her home.” Tallulah heard Paul saying, not lifting her head away from his chest. Embry. That must’ve been the boy's name who had pulled Xander away from her. She twisted her head and gave him a grateful smile as Paul gave him his keys before looking up at Paul, who was looking down at her. She could see the worry lines near his eyes and wanted nothing more than to smooth them out with the pads of her fingers. “Alright, let’s go.” his tone was serious, and she knew he was mad at her but trying really hard not to let it show given the circumstances.
“I need to tell my friends.” she spoke to him as if she was walking on thin ice, which she was.
“That guy-” Tallulah cut him off before he could finish what he was saying, “Not him, Lina and Kit..” she reassured as she let go of him, but he held onto her hand tightly, not wanting her to get lost in the sea of people.
It wasn’t hard to find Lina, who was subsequently also looking for Tallulah, “Hey! What happened with Xan, he stormed…” Lina trailed off, one look at Tallulah's face and she didn't need to put into words what had happened. She has seen this look on her best friend before. Like she’s just woken up from a terrible nightmare.“I’m going to head home, Li.” Tally spoke softly, she watched as Lina looked Paul up and down, trying to decide if Tal should go with him, “He’s cool, I promise.” she said while letting go of Paul's hand to wrap her best friend in a hug, “Call me when you get back to Seattle.” she said, before allowing Paul to lead her out of the dark club. She held onto his hand tightly, only letting go once they had reached her car, handing him the keys they both got in silently.
Tallulah only spoke up once they had left the parking lot and were heading towards the highway back to LaPush, “How did you know where to find me?” she asked softly, pulling her sleeves down over the palms of her hands.
“It’s a long story,” he said stoically. Tally furrowed her brows at his response, not satisfied with it at all, “We’ve got time.” she said looking at him, watching his face as he focused on the road.
“Well for one, there's only a few clubs in Port Angeles that allow minors to waltz through their doors.” he said angrily, but it didn’t feel like it was directed at her. “Please, don’t do this again, Tal.” he said looking directly at her, causing her to look away.
“I just wanted to see my friends.” she mumbled, looking down at her lap.
“You could’ve gotten hurt and no one would’ve known where you were because you told everyone you were somewhere that you weren’t.”he said, she could tell he was trying to keep his volume in check. To not yell at her like he had earlier in the evening.
“I was fine..” she pressed, which in her head, she was fine.
“Fine? You were fine?” he laughed. He really laughed, “That kid could've hurt you if Embry hadn’t gotten to you.”
Tallulah shook her head, tears pricking at her eyes. She didn’t want to cry, only children cry and she was not a child. “Xander wouldn’t have. I would’ve handled it, I always handle it.” she stressed, chewing the inside of her cheek as if it would keep her tears at bay.
It was obvious Paul was out of his depth here, so he let go of the steering wheel with his right hand, placing it in her lap. Letting her make the decision if she wanted to hold it or not, and she did. He had two small hands on either side of his large one, fingers clasped between. “You matter to me too, you know.” she said quietly, his voice from earlier in the evening replaying over in her head as it did all night long. He squeezed her hand as a response, letting the soft music from the radio takeover the silence between them.

tbh,, i havent read the raws of the interview yet, only the translated ver from fan-translator and b4 i start, i think that this will be just me talking in circle and in no particular order AND a real mess (my brain does weird things after exams) but uhh here we go
gojou collects talented people, and by doing so he finds the people he can most probably relate to, except that he can't, not really, because something in the universe shifted when he was born. and it makes me think of how he's always known it, that he is special, and he's proven it, time and time again— he wants to take in talented ppl and he does, but there rly isn't much he can do for them. for they are talented, more talented than the world can understand,,
but they aren't gojou satoru
gojou took in megumi, bc he knew megumi was strong, and would grow up to be someone even stronger, but gojou can't facilitate or encourage his growth, bc for all they're similar, they are so fundamentally different. ALSO,, while geto was in his life, gojou rly judged everything according to his understanding of geto’s moral compass. gojou wears a human suit and geto is how he learnt to wear it well 🏃
the dragonfly analogy regarding to geto’s response to gojo, who was shown wearing a dragonfly patterned yukata in HI arc,, i’m trying to not think abt the fact that dragonfly symbolized victory in jpn....pain. i quoted from a web here for more explanation : In Japan the dragonfly is known as the "victory insect", or kachimushi, because of its hunting prowess and also because it is known to never retreat. Dragonflies are agile and fast fliers and can even hover, but never fly backwards
and bringing this up again, matricide and patricide are 2 of the 5 worst act to commit in buddhism, and it was said that if u commit one of those act u’re going to spend a real long time in the deepest pit of hell before continuing the samsaric cycle (higher chances to be born as an animal after that probs)— this might be geto’s divine retribution. held no power over his own body and could be considered that he’s the same as those “monkeys” 💀
ALSO the fact that sukuna's interest is "eating" rly drives home his hedonistic philosophy of seeking pleasure for himself. and he’s a cannibal...makes me think if he’ll just chomp on ppl with the mouth on his stomach
randomly, to date i think he hasn't really called himself a human, shaman, or a curse, and has held himself apart from all 3, and we've also the intro of the cursed wombs so i wonder if he’s trying to become, or is, a different entity altogether
so onmyoji got mentioned in the interview and what they practice is called onmyodo and abe no seimei and kano no yasunori were the notable practitioners,, and the kamo in jjk is the same as irl who served the imperial court back then
maybe i was right when i said that the relation between the govt. and jujutsu elders are similar to how the shogunate and imperial court work (ie, the former holds the actual power) but... lets see later,,
and i cant believe that i actually nailed it on the analogy of jujutsu practices by religion,,, so mahayana buddhism, shintoism, and taoism is present in jjk along with their respective jujutsu practices...but between the 3, it shld (?) be taoism > shintoism > mahayana buddhism (which could took a path to pure land buddhism)
it’s weird that the number of curses are supposedly higher in jpn comparable to other countries when taoism was brought from china....tengen sus
so the zenin family tree is sth like :
brothers: [toji's dad] ; naobito ; ougi
so toji, naoya, and maki & mai are cousins of the same generation
[toji's dad] → jinichi (probs) ; toji → megumi
naobito → other brothers, naoya
ougi → maki, mai
but yea i’d call anyone who’s within/close or below my age range as cousins and others above 30 as uncles/ aunts LMFAO,, i dont rly memorize my own family tree 😭😭 especially since most call the other by honorifics instead of names : aunt, uncles etc or attaching said honorifics at the end of a name for an older sibling figure/ older cousins [but like ppl in my country also call the other who are older with sibling honorific even if we’re strangers,,, rly similar to korea’s hyung/oppa—eonnie(unnie)/noona but some uses more genderless honorific] (1)
tw // topic of incest, mentions of abuse
if anyone got the wrong idea when reading this : i am not glorifying/ romanticising incest(uous themes),, i’m looking at this with absolutely no lenses of bias even tho im rly against it
初恋 = literally : first love, or puppy love
恋 = romantic love/ deep longing
i literally don't know how else to put this...🧍and with language barrier...using a western interpretation of the eng word "love" to explain a jpnese term is not quite that simple, unfortunately
that thread omg,, i rly do understand how exactly someone could associated kindness with love bc of my upbringing, it was when i was slightly older that i was just...oh so its not like that orz,,, so the most plausible explanation would be that
but the problem is that,, akutami never specify when exactly she had a crush on them,, and when megumi answered todo’s question she had a “♡” reaction 😶,, uhmmm there’s rly no way to look past this if its this way or be in denial
i’ve seen some of "why wouldn't mai react that way after hearing megumi say he'd like someone who's compassionate when she's surrounded by men like naoya",, well I MEAN,,, that, but also mai probs admires that megumi grew up so well out of the clan, regardless of the fact that he had the foundation (10 shadows) to do so. imo she seems happy for him the way she can't be for maki, bc maki ultimately had to leave her behind
hate to say it but yea,, the 3 clans most likely still practice inbreeding in order to preserve their power and presumably their wealth too 😀
i had an idle thought abt it at first but i filed it deep in the back of my mind asap,, bc i ont wanna jump to conclusion abt this out of all things too early. it’s probably not even in jjk, but all those elite clans in other ani/mangas that produce powerful heirs and whatnot also do the same,,, but this way of (my personal) thinking was influenced when i first got into tsukihime (type-moon),,, i read abt the nanaya family background and found out that they practice that in order to keep their bloodline “pure” (to keep it short : they have an optical power),, and i had this kind of assumption ever since so there’s that
i’m,, convinced the zenins' inbreeding made it more difficult for them to get powerful shamans bc they got 2 jujutsu technique-less children with heavenly restrictions in the same generation: toji & maki
even more convinced that maki might be a bit stronger than toji bc toji could see curses without aid while maki can't so the pay-off must be higher,,, SJJASN IDK ,,, plus naoya sort of implies his older brothers are nothing compared to him, and idk if we should take that as his arrogance or that his older brothers rly are weak/powerless. it would make sense as to why naobito had a lot of sons, ig, as head of clan
i feel so bad that if one of the factors that can caused heavenly restriction is inbreeding,, toji and maki and mai had no say in how they wanted to be born but are scorned for it,, typical asian families projecting their traumas and ideals onto their kids but get mad when they realize that those ideals are ugly...😁😁😁
since the zenin are conservative,, i wonder if they still hold onto old jpnese dining traditions. where in ancient jpn, hierarchical relationships were made readily apparent even within families. a dining table where everybody sat down and ate as equals would be unheard of. rather, each individual is given their own table that indicates their status,,, someone who is not considered “strong” according to the zenin’s views most likely have no place at the table, and probs eat when those who are “strong” finished/ serve them when they are eating
if toji was tossed into a swarm of curses,, i dont think abuse during said time is below them,,,
the zenin clan was already great, but they further amassed power and strength by, what i assume to be, marrying and adopting powerful individuals into the clan 🤔 ,,, i imagine they're like the hiiragi but without doing what they did to shinya (ons reference)
BUT after all that, i like to think that since akutami’s a big horror fan, jjk might be an outlet to explore said topics or even darker ones, so i wouldnt be that surpised abt it. given that there’s more than enough “red flags” before this was dropped : a reference to “tale of hikaru genji” when a grown woman asked for gojou’s number in HI arc (out of all things); granny who transformed into the man’s daughter, sat on his lap and man just touched her waist; mei mei and ui ui ; and...this (incestous theme is in the novel btw)
lets not start with whatever the fuck in kubo’s head in the interview otherwise i’m writing paragraphs with every curse words possible,, those big 3 mangakas are so— UGH,, a planet w out (cis) men like him sounds real good rn 😌 if one of yall out there decide to do it,, pls hmu rly cant do this shit anymore
akutami said i like my men pretty and i like women who will step on my neck and spit in my face (I REMEMBERED TATSUKI FUJIMOTO’S INTERVIEW WHEN HE WAS ASKED ABT MAKIMA AND IT WAS SO 😭😭😭😭) but ykw,, love that for both of them <3
when i said 3 : one piece, bleach, naruto. aside from the blatant depiction/ characterize of women in those 3,, idk if some ppl arent aware yet but oda is friends with two (2) convicted pedos,, man...the major disappointment and disgust when i first find out abt it
anyways this is just my 2 cents (which i think rightfully belong to the trash can) so pls just take this w a lil to no grain of salt - 🐱
YEAH THE ♡ LMFAO I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A “good answer ♡“ heart BUT NOW IM RE-EXAMINING?????
honestly i wouldn’t be surprised if the three clans practiced inbreeding. but ik people are going to be  😡😡😡😡😡 about it when the queen of fucking england is literally married to her (something) cousin. i’m not justifying it but like....love the double standards, just as always with the west 😍
DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THAT FUCKING PED* LIST THEY SHOULD ALL BE IN JAIL. JAILLLLL. it’s all so gross. that’s why i fucking hate when people look towards manga for positive representation because the chances of that are super slim to zero, especially since the industry is saturated with misogyny and ped******* and a lot of other gross stuff.
i think ppl forget jjk is a horror manga LOL so obviously it’s going to confront darker themes. the question is whether it’s going to be done tastefully or not......

Jake Gyllenhaal and Jealous Liz (October 2010 - February 2011)
Now, there’s a lot to say about Jake and Taylor. The time they got together was a time when he was promoting his movie, Love and Other Drugs, and she was about to drop Speak Now. So at first glance, it look a lot like a traditional PR stunt. However, they do not have a first public meeting -- something that Taylor has with a lot of her other PR relationships (think Calvin at the Fund Fair or Harry at the KCAs), and seemed generally more camera shy.
Jake’s costar in Love and Other Drugs, Anne Hathaway, was also single at the time, and arguably a PR relationship between the two of them would’ve drummed up significantly more buzz for the film, so stunting with Taylor seems an odd choice.
Jake also reportedly annoyed Taylor with how much he wanted to hide from the press, which is interesting. I’m not totally certain if they were real or not, but I’ll put all of their stuff in here, because it’s interesting to note Liz’s reaction to all of it, despite her relationship:
23 October 2010 - Emma Stone hosts SNL. Both Taylor and Jake G show up to support her, supposedly they’ve already started dating at this point and this was their first public appearance together.
"They walked around together backstage, but they were careful not to be seen too close. It was hard to tell if they were together, but everyone was shocked that she brought him," a source told People magazine.
Notice the lack of public meeting. Strange that they just showed up together dating.
24 October 2010 - Liz tweets about listening to Never Grow Up
Tumblr media
October 2010 - Taylor writes All Too Well, the first of the three “Nashville songs” -- All Too Well, State of Grace, Stay Stay Stay-- that were written for the Red album before she moved to LA, based on the fact that she said she started writing for Red slightly before Speak Now was released.
We also know All Too Well has to have been written in 2010 because what the copyright record for it says:
Tumblr media
Now, it seems to me that this is too soon to be about Jake. It’s obviously a breakup song, and Taylor and Jake have only just started dating (unless they had a secret dating history we don’t know about). It would be weird for her to be writing all this about him while they’re still dating.
All Too Well could be about any of the three women I’ve spoken previously about in this masterpost. However, I’m going to try to make the case that this song is for Liz:
All Too Well is Liz’s favorite song from Red. She has said so on multiple occasions. Years later, when she came to watch Taylor’s Reputation tour in Glendale, Taylor even played it for her as the surprise song. Sure, it could just be that Liz is just a fan, but the song fits where we are in the timeline. Liz has moved on with someone else. Taylor is trying to get over it, but she can’t help but think back to the past she remembers “all too well.”
If the song is about a woman, lines like “back before you lost the one real thing you’ve ever known” reads to me as Taylor making a (possibly unfounded) dig at closeting. All Too Well also carries the bad driving metaphor with “almost ran the red,” which runs throughout a lot of the other Liz songs on Red, and which Liz will later reference herself in her own music. The lines in the bridge about “asking for too much” and “running scared,” remind me of Taylor insisting she was single during Valentine’s Day, despite spending it with Liz, only to turn around and miss her once Liz got a boyfriend. Lines about loss of innocence are also interesting, when we think about that L Chat post about Liz from earlier...
Of course, obviously, you can think this song is about whoever you want. If you wanna claim it for JH or Joe Jonas or Taylor Lautner or maybe even some girl Taylor went to high school with, be my guest. I personally don’t buy it being about Emily in a post-Dear John world, and the timeline doesn’t read as Jake to me, so I’m giving it to Liz!
25 October 2010 - Speak Now is released. In the album’s prologue, she specifies that the song “Long Live” is for her band, which is interesting to me, considering that the bridge of the song sounds like it might be about a relationship, and the secret message of the song is “For you,” which sounds oddly specific:
Will you take a moment? Promise me this That you’ll stand by me forever But, if God forbid, fate should step in And force us into a goodbye If you have children someday When they point to the pictures, Please tell ‘em my name
The secret message for Mine is “Toby,” which is the name of the actor who played her love interest during the song, making it make no sense for the song to be about him (and, in my eyes, making it more likely she was trying to cover up who the song was really for). We’ve already discussed Story of Us having “CMT Awards” and Back to December having “Tay,” so I won’t beat you over the head with those.
Tumblr media
Unlike the original handwritten lyrics to Sparks Fly, which featured the lyric “Get me with those brown eyes, baby,” the version that Taylor put on the Speak Now album had the lyric “hit me with those green eyes, baby,” with the eye color presumably being changed because Liz has green eyes:
Tumblr media
The secret message for Sparks Fly is “Portland, Oregon,” which is where Taylor and The Agency covered Tom Petty’s song American Girl in May 2009 during the height of early TayLiz.
26 October 2010 - Taylor and Jake are spotted together in Brooklyn getting lunch with Emma Stone:
Tumblr media
Liz does a sound check for Taylor for the Today Show. A video later gets posted on YouTube and someone leaves this comment noting Taylor and Liz’s chemistry:
Tumblr media
31 October 2010 - Taylor and Jake are spotted in Big Sur together and stay at California’s Post Inn Ranch.
Liz spends Halloween with her boyfriend:
Tumblr media
1 November 2010 - Taylor’s appearance on Ellen airs. Ellen asks her about Jake. Taylor says “I’m always optimistic about love. Yes, always, sometimes.”
2 November 2010 - Taylor and Jake are spotted in Santa Barbara together. They get ice cream, interact with fans, and Taylor reportedly laughs at everything Jake says.
16 November 2010 -  Jake attends the Love and Other Drugs premiere alone. This is interesting to me, considering if this was a PR relationship you would’ve thought he’d bring Taylor as his date. Still, Paula made some weird decisions in her time as Taylor’s publicist (like putting her with a carousel of 18 year olds), so this could just be Paula thinking that Taylor showing up at the premiere with him would be too obviously read as a stunt. Doesn’t rule it either way. Still, I think Anne would’ve been a better choice for PR for this.
Mid November - Perez Hilton alleges that Jake has picked up Taylor on his private jet to fly her to London because she was “feeling lonely.” Jake was in London promoting Love and Other Drugs so this seems very stunty to me personally.
22 November 2010 - Taylor attends the American Music Awards and wins Favorite Female Country Artist.
Tumblr media
Liz tweets congratulations at her and seems generally excited.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
24 November 2010 - Love and Other Drugs is officially released in theaters.
25 November 2010 - Taylor and Jake spend Thanksgiving in Brooklyn with Jake’s family.
Tumblr media
26 November 2010 - Liz seems to have spent Thanksgiving with Jason:
Tumblr media
27 November 2010 - Taylor and Jake are spotted in a coffee house in Nashville:
Tumblr media
And, maybe in response, Liz makes this weird and vaguely jealous Tweet:
Tumblr media
Now, I don’t know what this means. Maybe the “you” refers to Liz and she’s having what Carly Rae Jepsen would call “boy problems” -- feeling torn and overburdened between a best friend and boyfriend:
youtube
Or, perhaps, the “you” in this Tweet refers to Taylor, and Liz is trying to say that Jake is “using her up,” maybe meaning taking up her time. Or maybe Liz wasn’t referring to any of this. We can’t really know. Still, it’s interesting.
29 November 2010 - TayLiz hang out and Liz tweets about it. Perhaps to make up for the lack of time spent together since they both got boyfriends.
Tumblr media
30 November 2010 - Taylor and Jake have coffee in Nashville:
Tumblr media
1 December 2010 - Taylor writes a MySpace post about the CMTs.
Tumblr media
Liz tweets about watching Glee, meaning she’s the one who got Taylor hooked on the show and therefore interested in Dianna. Hilarious.
Tumblr media
2 December 2010 - Taylor calls Love and Other Drugs a “good movie” when asked about it, and won’t say anything more. She also adamantly refuses to talk about her personal life (This gives me 2018/19 Joe vibes, whatever that means).
3 December 2010 - Liz tweets that her favorite song on Speak Now is Last Kiss. She also tweets at Jason about his cooking:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5 December 2010 - Jake is asked about Taylor and says this:
“One of the greatest parts about being in a relationship is the intimacy you share, but it can be difficult if you’re being watched the whole time.”
This reminds me so much of what Taylor’s currently saying about Joe. Interesting, looking back on it.
7 December 2010 - Jake and Taylor do the “maple latte” pap walk stunt in Brooklyn with Maggie and her daughter. This is the only series of photos of them that I think was a set-up, but that means it’s pretty gross this is the one they chose to bring a child into:
Tumblr media
I think the reason this was so obviously a pap walk was to get the “maple latte” in the shot. I’ve already speculated that Taylor had written All Too Well prior to her relationship with Jake, and this stunty pap walk would make sense if she needed to use him to cover for it.
8 December 2010 - Liz makes another weird vague possibly jealous tweet:
Tumblr media
Now, in the context of Mine possibly being about Liz and Taylor saying that song is about her “tendency to run from love,” it’s possible Liz is shading Taylor’s pap walk with Jake the previous day. This tweet feels very “back before you lost the one real thing you’ve ever known.”
However, maybe she’s just really happy with Jason. I don’t know. I don’t know these people.
9 December 2010 - Taylor and Jake drive around LA, Jake yells at the paps.
Tumblr media
Compare these to those photos with Taylor Lautner earlier in the timeline. These are not nearly as staged. Take away from that whatever you will.
13 December 2010 - Taylor turns 21. Liz and Caitlin bring her a pizza. Liz tweets at Taylor that she’s changed her life. This is supposedly the birthday that Jake didn’t show up to that The Moment I Knew is about. Liz and Caitlin bringing her pizza if she’s sad about it would make sense...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
31 December 2010 - Taylor and Liz spotted together in Nashville. They get Pei Wei and JustJared calls Liz a “gal pal.” Taylor seems upset, possibly about her whole Jake birthday thing. Or possibly something else.
Tumblr media
Liz tweets about going for a run and listening to Speak Now:
Tumblr media
5 January 2011 - Taylor and Jake break up.
19 January 2011 - Taylor and Jake are spotted together by fans in Nashville, first at a coffee shop and then at dinner. Jake did not have any other business in Nashville, so it can be assumed he came there to talk to Taylor:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
CONCLUSION: Were Taylor and Jake real? I don’t know. They really only ever did that one pap walk and didn’t seem to publicly promote each other’s work, as far as I could find, despite both releasing projects while together. The one pap walk they did seems to maybe have been to cover for All Too Well, which had possibly already been written (likely about Liz) before Jake and Taylor started dating.
Were those tweets from Liz jealousy? Or am I reading too much into it?
Either way, Taylor’s had her fun, and now it’s time to maybe start thinking about getting back together with Liz. There’s just one problem: her boyfriend.

8x16 Rewatch: Nicholas Obenrader
IRS storyline. Red’s friendly thief talks about someone going to Boston University. Another one going to college. Agnes will tie into their college storylines somehow. I love Red’s comment about Ressler. “Black shoes, cheap suit, flat stomach, regulation cut - don’t get me wrong, he’s bent, just not as bent as we’d like him to be.”
“Why must you always be early?” This ties in Ressler’s comment to Liz in Brothers. “Not on my watch.” Whatever happens, he’ll be early. Ressler informs the team. He knows a great deal about the Yakuza because of Mako Tanida.
Espinosa was building his golden parachute like The Director did. He takes a 10% cut from the 40% cut the crew is supposed to get. Red’s friend informs Neville. He’s boxing Espinosa just like he did Rudigger. Neville’s people have no reason to doubt Liz. He already knew she was an agent.
“She’s really good. But I think we’ll all be a lot better when this is done.” A nice hit to the note the woman from Paris left for Red. “You’re good. I’m better.” The worst has yet to come.  “Liz’s mom abandoned her. She would never do the same to Agnes.” Aram has no clue why Katarina gave Liz up for adoption. She had no choice. Liz will realize this soon enough when her own child ends up in danger because Neville wants to kill her. Katarina didn’t make a mistake, Liz did.
The whole brother of Charles at the lake house reminds me of Liz’s comment about Ressler’s lake house when she spoke to Laurel Hitchin in 4x19.
Liz is so disrespectful. Anyway... Cooper sent Aram to Paris because he’s still unofficially working with Liz. Ressler last week, Aram this week. Cooper basically knew Aram would be meeting with Liz. I will blame the entire task force along with Liz for whatever happens to her and/or Agnes and/or Jennifer because they failed to arrest her and chose to work against Red instead. He’s their CI. Liz is not. Red put her on the blacklist for a reason. Panabaker put her on the wanted list for a reason.
“If I were you, I’d like the finish line.” Red’s comment is a nice kick back to his comment to Liz in Devlin’s episode, S5. “Our sprint to the finish. The bag is just out of reach now.”
Tumblr media
I love Aram’s care for Agnes in this episode, but I laugh at Liz’s comment.  “Where we live is quiet and peaceful.” A nice kickback to the scene cut in 7x13 for their War and Peace theme. Ressler's "But maybe this will help us." US being Keenler. A hearing aid that blocks out sound. Cut to Agnes' name on her passport meaning Peace. “Your daddy just always taught me to be ready for a rainy day.” This runs through The Freelancer in 8x5. “There's a number pre-programmed. You ask for Charlotte. You tell them you got caught in the rain and need to dry off.” It won’t be quiet and peaceful for long. Charlotte’s web is about to get tangled.
“I’ve done some awful things.” Liz kicking back to S3... again. “I have done... so many terrible things. I have hurt so many people."
“Whoever said crime doesn’t pay wasn’t very good at it.” When crime nearly costs Liz her daughter... she’ll understand what that truly means. It’s a dialogue that kicks back to The Ethicist in S6. “He did a cost-benefit analysis on these people, figured that the cost outweighed the benefits, and killed them because of it." Liz believes the benefit outweighs the cost. It doesn’t.
Finally, some Ressler action in a lake house.
Sikorsky’s official name is Ivan Stepanov. Red’s friend in the East. Officially, he’s SVR. Unofficially, he’s a high-ranking member of Zaslon. running black-ops around the globe. “Mobilize assets.”
Red doesn't expect Obenrader to reveal anything meaningful about Neville's organization. Obenrader knows the blowback it’ll have on his loved ones if he does. This is what Liz will have to worry about later. The blowback on her loved ones. More specifically, Jennifer and Agnes.
Whoever their inside man is, it’ll be a low-level agent like The Director’s friend in Zal Bin Hasaan’s episode. I’m expecting someone outside the task force, but close enough to tap the phone. They know Liz is using burners, so they had to tap Ressler’s. Yeah, another kickback to S3.
Tumblr media
The task force can’t arrest Stepanov, so they’re letting Liz extract him. Because they chose to work with Liz and Ressler contacted her about Stepanov while having a tap on his phone, Neville’s own people got their hands on him first. Precisely the point. They just put Liz in the direct line of fire because Katarina was N-13 and she’s very much alive. I thought it’d be Paula who got into his line, but it was Neville’s people. Guarantee Stepanov can prove Katarina was N-13, and knows the identity of imposter Katarina. This knowing will be Liz’s downfall. He’s going to protect Red at all costs (tortured or not) because he and Red have been working on this project together for the past 30 years.
Tumblr media
“Oh, my stars” is a common quote from Red. He used it in Lord Baltimore with Yaabari. "Let me guess, I stole something from you. A painting, jewelry.... your heart."  Red’s new asset is gorgeous as hell. Priya Laghari.
Tumblr media
“I want to be your angel.” - Red
Red pulls a fake shooting on Ressler and Park so as not to look like a CI in bed with the FBI. “Of course, a mystery is only as good as the story around it.” Red saying exactly what I’ve been saying about his real identity. It has to fit the story around it.
Alina Park is pretending to read Just Fly Away by Andrew McCarthy. “A powerful story about family secrets, first love, the limits of forgiveness, and finding your way in the world.”
Tumblr media
“Like taking candy from a kid.” A hit to Rizal’s episode. This is where Agnes falls in, along with the dialogues about spoiling her rotten.
“You think you’re giving her a rope to hang herself. I fear you may be giving her a rope to hang all of us.” A nice hit back to 8x14. “I’m responsible for Mary Bremmer’s murder, Dembe’s torture, and I got nothing to show for it, except for another reminder that no matter how tight the noose, Reddington will always cheat the hangman." To be clear, Liz fully accepting responsibility for the murder of Mary Bremmer, so what comes to Jennifer will be on her. That whole washer necklace choking Mary through Liz’s Cyranoid. She didn’t specify that it brought her good luck, only that it brought her luck... because Tom Keen is bad luck.
Tumblr media
A noose for Jennifer Reddington. Then Liz will have something to show for it.
Red is worried about Priya. He hired her to assassinate Neville.
Tumblr media
He should be worried. This focal shot is a kickback to Roy Cain's episode in S7. His "knock on wood" will push back to Liz and her fate.
Tumblr media
Purposeful stuff.
Tumblr media
A kiss of death... like the woman from Paris kissing Red before injecting him. It also makes me think of The Apothecary, the Scotch. Just throw it in the bottle while he's gone and be done with it. While she may not kill Neville, I do think she’ll be the reason Red’s friend Ivan will survive. She’s a thief. "Items” include people. That's what Neville wants Priya to steal. She's gonna steal Ivan Stepanov. "Item" is how Red referred to Raymond’s bones in S5 and how they referred to Karakurt when he came in country in S2... items. Rakitin wasn’t worth the save.
The Stranger by Albert Gamus. The book Dembe was reading that Red starts to read. The novel is famous for its first lines: “Mother died today. Or maybe it was yesterday, I don’t know.”
"Katarina Rostova was N-13. And Katarina Rostova is dead." Ivan Stepanov speaks truth. Red is N-13 because he's Katarina. SHE has been dead for 30 years. Of all people, the person who created the archive can prove who stole it in 1990. Expect Neville to be pissed because he's been chasing the wrong woman for 30 years. Ivan can reveal it all without revealing Red's real identity.
Tumblr media
Neville’s comment about her innocence. “But Katarina Rostova was framed. Which means I dedicated my life to the hatred of an innocent woman.” This pushes back to Red’s comment in 8x2. “Is that the story she told you? She's a victim? An innocent wrongly accused?" What Ivan will be revealing to Neville. The real Katarina Rostova was no innocent. He knows Red is Katarina and he knows he’s dead either way because he created the archive that took Neville’s family. "Do you know who I am? Because I know who you are. You're the one who created the archive that destroyed my family." He’s gonna put Liz on the chopping block. "And I asked you to fly here so I could look you in the eye and tell you: I agree... for now." Because he has no idea she’s Katarina’s daughter, which means he has no idea she’s Red’s daughter.
Full drive through the rest of the season. The first person Neville would kill... is Liz.

Get Out
How do you deal with someone who is in your house and just won’t leave? There is always a time to call it a day, but some people just won’t take the clues the host provides. My father had a great solution. After eating a big meal he would go into the next room, have a couple of drinks, unbutton his pants, and when he woke up voila! company gone. This worked almost every time. Only exception was a long time friend of his who would join my father in the next room, have some drinks with him and also fall asleep. On these occasions my father would not unbutton his pants. My mother and her friend could talk for hours so when my father woke up they were still there. Luckily for myself and my sanity on these occasions neither my father nor his guest unbuttoned their pants. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
So how do you get rid of guests that have stayed past their best before date? There is not a single solution for all guests, as each guest needs to be handled differently. An old friend of the family, Joe, called to ask me how to get rid of a squatter in his house. Apparently the man is hiding in the basement and so far nothing has worked. Caution. I have tailor-made these solutions for Joe’s problem. They may or may not work if you are experiencing the same situation.
- The man likes to golf. Change the locks when he is on the course.
- Paint the house a different color. This will confuse the heck out of him. Avoid orange as you don’t want him to blend in and make it impossible to spot him.
- Leave 2 for 1 coupons for KFC lying around. To make it work the coupon must specify for dine in only. Doesn’t matter if restaurants currently have restrictions. He will go.
- Invite other people to stay over that he doesn’t want to be around. Some suggestions would be Rosie O’Donnell, Bill and Hillary, his niece, anyone that works at CNN, or any visible minorities.
- Change all the calendars and convince him it is 2024 and he has been there eight years. By the time he figures it out the gates are shut and you can wave at him from the balcony.
- Pretend he is a ghost. Everyone ignore him as if he isn’t there. This will drive him crazy and he will go haunt somewhere else.
- Call him with a fake Russian accent and just say ‘It is time’ and hang up. He will understand.
- Tell him that the country of Turdistan has just elected him president for life with an approval rating of 99% and they have no laws preventing him from making money while in office. Offer to fly him over in Air Force one, and that the country has no extradition treaty with the U.S.A. Drop him off in Central Africa. Wish him luck.
If none of these work Joe, tell him he can take Rudy with him.

Handing their S/O a positive pregnancy test with a sprig of holly and a note reading ‘Merry Christmas’.
Getting trapped in a shopping mall together during after-hours in which they were christmas shopping too hard.
SWEATER PAWS AND CUDDLES.
Losing S/O at a christmas market and having to make an announcement over an intercom as to reunite them again (I’m thinking early 80’s era with fluorescent jackets and big old scarfs and brick phones that they left at home).
Fluffy, pretty, ‘princess’ character meets emo, grunge, moody character at a trashy christmas party and accidentally (drunkenly) makes them fall for them.
A competition for cringiestchristmas sweater at an office party, in which your otp comes wearing the same sweater.
Christmas Eve has your otp trapped in an elevator until late, both hungry and cold and now asleep together on the floor with bags of shopping discarded across from them.
Being hit in the face by an angry customer swinging their arms about and their S/O beating them up in the parking lot.
Christmas shenanigans under the tree, if you know what I mean.
Otp acting domestic whilst cooking their families christmas dinner and worrying about whether their parents are getting on with each other.
Planning a beautiful engagement for christmas day, only to lose the ring.
Mothering their S/O’s younger siblings and making sure they’re getting enough to eat.
Falling asleep in front of the fire whilst their S/O is playing them ‘dance of the sugar plum fairy’ on piano. They pull a blanket over them and curl up beside them.
Spilling hot chocolate/coffee/a hot-fucking-beverage on the other and insisting on paying for a new drink and new clothes for them, unaware that they’re rich and very capable of buying themselves another coffee. Besides, they don’t know that this jacket is Louis Vuitton and cost more than the knock-off Gucci belt that had caught their eye in the first place (probably looking a little lower than the belt, but we digress).
First christmas with their S/O and panicking to their best friend/sibling about what to get them. Somehow, a plushie didn’t seem exactly suitable when they knew the other had bought them an engagement ring.
Flying overseas for christmas, but having their baggage lost/delayed, meant they had to walk around their hotel room naked for a few days. That was their excuse anyway.
Burning christmas dinner and trying to order take-out (congratulations, you plebs).
Being gifted tickets to see a family member overseas, but having to leave their S/O at home for christmas, not expecting them to turn up on their doorstep on christmas morning with a bouquet of roses.
Finding their S/O drinking eggnog from the carton and crying at ‘Love Actually’ on their return from working all day. Pulling the other into their lap and kissing their forehead until they stop crying and fall asleep.
SLIPPING ON ICE, SPENDING CHRISTMAS IN HOSPITAL AND GUESS WHO THEIR DOCTOR IS??? *cue us pterodactyl screeching and them ensuing sexy shenanigans***
Decorating the christmas tree together and blowing the fuse for the electrics. Waiting in candle-light for the electricians to arrive and- let me just say- nothing stays fluffy in candle-light.
Bringing each others home country traditions to the dinner table and experiencing a weird mix of food.
Secretly learning their S/O’s mother-tongue to surprise them and be able to talk to their family at christmas.
Buying animal-proof fairy lights, confusing their S/O, but it all makes sense when there’s an ENTIRE puppy in their living room on christmas day.
Falling asleep in the passenger seat whilst their S/O drives them to a family members house for christmas, but not wanting to wake them for further directions because they look so p e a c e f u l.
Cuddling in the bathtub because it’s so cold outside and their S/O got caught in the snow on the way home from work.
Kissing under the mistletoe is underrated, go big or go home.
Sleeping in until midday because they just want to be in each other’s arms and it is so warm with them right here beside them.
Making out under the christmas tree because the lights reflecting in their S/O’s eyes just looked too ethereal for them not to kiss them until they lost their breath.
Eating dinner together and sharing kisses over the dining table. This isn’t always fun when their S/O has a hate for brussel sprouts.
Falling asleep on their significant other’s chest whilst they’re wrapping christmas presents, meaning that some aren’t wrapped the next morning because the sellotape had RUN OUT.
Failing to get the right meat and their S/O sending them back multiple times until they end up going together and realising that they weren’t even going to the right store.
Slow kisses.
Text messages asking for their S/O to put the kettle on for them as they were almost home.
Sitting on the doorstep in the cold, waiting for their S/O to come home from working on christmas day (emergency services?) and hugging them for so long whilst whispering ‘merry christmas’ into their neck and kissing any inch of skin they can reach.
Slow dancing to Frank Sinatra’s christmas songs in the kitchen and forgetting to check the potatoes in the oven.
Ice skating and them BOTH BEING REALLY GOOD ACTUALLY.
ACCIDENTALLY WEARING MATCHING NAUGHTY/NICE JUMPERS IN PUBLIC AND THEN BUMPING INTO EACH OTHER.
Avoiding the mistletoe at all costs, however, everyone is trying their best to get the otp there.
Neighbour au in which one gets drunk on mulled wine and ends up knocking at the other’s door, drunkenly trying to seduce the other and- instead- passing out in their living room.
MAKING OUT IN THE CLOAKROOM OF SOME POSH CHRISTMAS PARTY.
Just lots of making out in general. Jesus wanted us to repopulate which means fuc-
Crawling into their roommate’s (S/O’s) bed because it is too cold in their own and they want cuddles.
For goodness gracious IT’S 3 AM PLEASE STOP CAROLING au
-You threw a snowball and it hit me/my window and I was going to be mad but you’re really cute. Do you want to come in for hot chocolate? au
-This is the fourth time you’ve come to ask for sugar this week. How many cookies are you making? au
-we’re at an ugly Christmas sweater party and that thing is horrendous where did you even find that au
-You don’t realize I can see over the fence to watch you make snow angels like you’re five years old au
-you would literally make the best neighborhood Santa au
-are you the one putting mistletoe absolutely everywhere in this apartment building, or do you just happen to be in the right place at the right time every single time I walk under it au
-I just heard a ten pound turkey hit the ground and also very strong words. Do you need help? au
-I work at the Christmas tree lot and you just had to pick the heaviest tree there didn’t you au
-You were putting up Christmas lights and you just fell off the roof omg do you need me to drive you to the hospital au
-I invited you to Christmas dinner as my boyfriend/girlfriend so that my family would stop pestering me about being single, but we can keep this up until New Year’s, right? au
I’m going to eat this whole pie by myself and you’re not going to say anything about it au.

Kripke speaks!
So last weekend I dragged my long-suffering husband to Toledo, Ohio to visit their absolutely amazing art museum (seriously, if you get a chance, visit it; it's stunningly good), but also, because hometown boy Eric Kripke was giving a talk there. A free talk. Two hours from me. I was excite!
Okay, so … Toledo. First time I've actually been in the city, vs. just driving past. It's a ramshackle area, but to explore it is to reveal, in some small way, where Kripke and SPN came from. Smallish and hanging on by its fingernails, Toledo squats like an old cemetery in the shadows of the huge BP Oil refinery. If you head north, you hit Lake Eerie, which—this time of year—isn't awful. If you head south, you're in the middle of nowhere. Every other building seems to be derelict. Toledo's 'historic homes' district is chock full of Victorian painted ladies that have seen far better days, the colors peeling and the yards weedy, but they're still some of the most gingerbreaded, neo-Gothic delights I've seen in a long time.
Tumblr media
( (The stupid watermark-like blur is the back of my phone. Should've rolled down the window, duh.)
The industry in town is the aforementioned oil refinery, glass factories, the University of Toledo and a whiff of tourism. So you end up with this strange amalgam of artiness, decay, and working class valor. I dig it. It's very early-season's SPN. I totally get where Kripke was coming from.
Tumblr media
(A supposedly haunted building in downtown Toledo, the Pythian Castle.)
Kripke himself is an unassuming, warm, funny guy. The first few rows in the museum's auditorium were reserved for his family and friends, including past grade-school teachers. The majority of the audience was SPN fans, quite obviously, and not young ones either. It was a mix of ages, but far and away the crowd skewed older. If anyone yaks on about fandom only being for the young, or that the future of the SPN fandom is the 16-24 year olds, don't believe them. I did a bit of a live-tweet of his SPN-topical points, which I won't repeat here but you can hit my twitter and follow the #KripkeSpeaks tag for the highlights: https://twitter.com/hashtag/kripkespeaks?f=tweets&vertical=default&src=hash Lemme see if I can distill the talk down to a few points here, though. He worked very, very hard to get where he's at, and that hard work—regardless of failure—is what opened a lot of doors. That tenacious Midwest work ethic. No matter how small the job, he did it 200%. He slept on floors, he made huge mistakes, he kept his eyes open for serendipitous forks in the road. You've got to have a freight train mentality, but never … never … think you've got it mastered. Lean into the fear. There were two sticking points in his tenure with SPN that he was ready to quit over: when the WB (the CW's predecessor) wanted to ax the classic rock soundtrack, and in one of the episodes (he didn't specify which one), there was a flashback to young Sam and Dean, and the network didn't want to do it. Kripke simply said, “Then I quit.” And he meant it. “You've gotta mean it, or you have no bargaining chip.” Needless to say, the network caved. But he would've walked over either of those situations if the network hadn't conceded. Kripke always loved comedy, and wrote comedy script after comedy script, to no real avail. But he was getting recognized as someone who did solid work. He was a writer's assistant or some such lower level employee when they needed someone to write a script in a pinch. It was horror, but Kripke shrugged and said “What the hell, I'll do it!” It succeeded far better than any of his comedies. He'd been dreaming and fine-tuning his SPN idea for years, and that horror script got him in front of some big names, finally. They didn't like the idea of the heroes being reporters—it felt like a rehashed “Kolchak, the Night Stalker” to them—but then on the fly, he made the leads brothers. In a muscle car. He plucked inspiration from his Toledo childhood. And the big names perked right up. (The stuff he offered “on the fly” had been notes he'd scribbled in the margins of his script. Never let those gems go; you never know when they'll come in handy!) For me, the biggest take-away was “Show me a confident writer, and I'll show you a bad one.” Now, this doesn't mean that you shouldn't know your worth, that you shouldn't love what you do. Plow forward like a freight train, do your very best work, but never stop learning. If think you're the hottest thing since the Pet Rock, well … whatever happened to those Pet Rocks, anyways? When someone crows too loudly about their own expertise, their own authority, they've likely stopped learning. You miss so many opportunities if you think there's only one way to do things. His next TV adventure, Revolution,, was very stressful and fraught with challenges, but he still did his damnedest to make it succeed. When it got canceled, though, he wasn't disappointed. Timeless was far more of a joy to create. That one, he was sad to see go. Then he showed the trailer for his newest show (to be available on Amazon Prime) and it looks sooooo good. The Boys. He's working with the gang that developed Preacher, and sounds like it has that same iconoclastic, dark-humored vibe. YUM. So Kripke gets to exercise his comedy chops after all! (Though, really, SPN had some fantastic comedy moments too. Who says the horror genre has to take itself so seriously?) He took a handful of questions afterwards, during which he revealed he'd love to participate in the last season/episode if his contract will allow. TULPA THIS SHIT, Y'ALL. I had to split at that point because my husband had been patient enough and I was getting hangry and itching to see the museum, but Kripke hung around for autographs. Like the good egg he is. The industry needs more writers like Kripke. I enjoyed the heck out of Toledo, and him.

============================================
I want to demonstrate how SAG news media creates labels for groups of people, and labels are created for just about any kind of repeatable circumstance, situation, disease, ailment, condition or set of conditions. The labels serve a tremendous role in the advance of global terrorism and mass murder by creating a set of jargon that is accepted as truth by millions of news viewers, while at the same time, that same jargon works like an instruction manual when viewed by members of the Canadian terror army who are led by the news media personalities with orders that are crafted by SAG Writers Guild members.
The Canadian terror army consider themselves as Pirates, they relate with pirate ideas and the “Pirate Way”.
“Pirates Say Aarrrgghh!”
Pirates take stuff that does not belong to them, they just take, and keep taking, while saying “Aarrgghh! and swinging a sword while releasing nitrous oxide gas on the wind.
The Canadian terror army of Pirates are all Christians. The most difficult part of this explanation is when I need to say that the Christian religion is fake, always was fake, is going to stay fake, and will never be a real religion, because Christianity is born of being pirates, when the first group of them took over Greece where the Parthenon is at, destroyed everything there, then found the Library at Alexandria, stole that and took slaves. The combination of the knowledge contained in the scrolls of Alexandria and those slaves who could read them was used by those first Christians against other populations of people, and the very first use of that knowledge wielded as a weapon was when the pirates used what the knowledge at Alexandria explained about Earth and time, the way there are four seasons, and the distribution of time in a year was done in ten increments, there were ten months in he year back then, so, to make it confusing  for everyone, the terror pirates added January and February to the beginning of the year, Doing that disrupted what people already knew, that in March, which was the first month of the year, that is the time to begin to start to grow the food that would be stored and eaten in the next winter. The pirates added the two months, and that news spread around, while the vast majority of people could not read or write, they just knew that “It’s the beginning of the year, so, we need to start growing the food” ... but it was January, and the food would not grow as it did before at the beginning of the year in March.
The Christian Pirates used the Library at Alexandria and took as slaves the people who could read the scrolls, and those people were forced to teach the Christian Pirates, who used what they learned, against others.
They shifted time, They stole time itself and harnessed time as a weapon against people in effort to weaken them.
(low flying terror air force airplane noted over my house just now at 2:32 pm)
I already explained all of that in better detail in other parts of this account,
The Christian religion is not a religion, it’s an organized group of pirates who tell wild stories about a “God” and they use the contents of a book, “The Bible” as a means to lure in victims, who are nailed to the cross, on the pirate ship, to catch wind, to move the boat forward, so that they can lure in more victims, ever more Jesus’ are captured with the fake stories in the book, they are nailed to the mast of the pirate ship to catch wind, to move the boat forward, to catch more Jesus’, to nail to the mast, to catch wind, to move the boat forward.
=======
Those labels I started out with:
Antifa: This is a fictional group of people. “Antifa” demonstrations can be quickly assembled by NBC/Universal/Comcast. All they need is a “casting call” and the SAG actors (extras) will gather where they are told to gather. A screenplay is written such that the events will draw attention from desired locations, while providing distraction from other locations and perhaps other places where more offensive mass murdering, raping, and pillaging is taking place away from the planned Antifa demonstrations. The word Antifa is a brilliant use of the concept on the part of the terror army leaders who came up with that term, “Antifa“. That world allows the smart, patriotic US Citizens who are opposed to fascism will be looking like a gang of criminals simply because they might say out loud that there are Fascists who took over. The Fascists, AKA: Screen Actor Guild Members, invented a word, a label, that they can stick onto people to make those people appear as terrorists when they speak of fascism and US takeover by Fascists. The Fascists crafted the label that turns the good guys into perceived bad guys. The only safe thing to do, is carefully avoid use of the word “Antifa” and to completely disassociate ones self from Any Organized Group of demonstrative people. The only group to belong to in my view, is that of “United States Citizen”, and it’s not enough to say “American“ anymore, those days are long over with. You have to be specific, United States Citizen is the only thing that will work as a title to align ones self with a controlling entity. The problem with that, is that the US White House and US Congress have both been hijacked by Fascists from Screen Actor Guild, who claim to be US Citizens in White House and US Congress. Add all fifty US State Governors to the Fascists who hijacked USA.
Three Percenters: The Three Percenters is terror code for the activity of attacking and taking 3% of the population at a given event or gathering, city or county, or other place where people are at. The “Three Percent Taking” is done at theaters, music concerts, sporting and other events at stadiums, ... any place where people are gathered in large numbers can be set up in advance with apparatus and layout that favors the 3% taking. Basically, if a hundred thousand people are at a Cal-Jam concert in 1974, then, 3.000 people can disappear, be taken captive, farmed of assets and family contact information, then killed & replaced with impostors who will vote in upcoming elections as they are instructed to vote, for the Fascist Shills that Screen Actor Guild arranges to be on the voting ballots. The “Three Percenters“ label, covers all of that other truth up and buries it within a mysterious group of armed “militia”. The fact is, that any one who knows the truth and thinks about making a report about the three percent taking at venues, will think twice when they also think about a mysterious armed militia, and they won‘t make the report about truth because the Christian terror pirate Fascists of Screen Actor Guild managed to find a way to scare people before they make the terror report. (at Cal-Jam, there were First Aid Tents. The three percent taking was done mostly by virtue of groups of terror soldiers tripping the victims at various sets of stairs, and other means of creating injury such that the marked victims would go to those first aid tents, where the victims where kidnapped from while within the cover of the tent area, a roped off, controlled area where multiple first aid tents were at. I was there, I lost a friend to the three percent taking at Cal-Jam, Kim noice never came home, but someone else did come to her home and began driving Kim’s car.)
Oath Keepers: Oath Keepers is another scary mysterious militia story that has many uses for NBC/Universal “demonstrations”. As a word, or terror term, look at Oath Keepers like this: “To take an Oath, is to give your word, to make a promise to be loyal to some group and duty” ... something like that, make your own assessment of “Oath”, that assessment I did is basic. So, the “Oath” is about “The Word”, and now you can see what is happening behind the scenes of the demonstrations that include “Oath Keepers”. They are especially religious, Christian variety terror pirates, maybe the term serves a need to specify a difference between Seventh Day Adventist Canadian terror soldiers vs the SAG leadership levels of terror operatives. If so, “Three Percenters” starts to look more as SAG, while “Oath Keepers” makes me lean more towards a SDA riddled area of thought. Honestly, come to think of it, both terms, “Oath Keepers” and “Three Percenters” seem to have a Christian sort of bad taste to them.
The Proud Boys: “Proud”, African Lions run in “Prides”. I say the “The Proud Boys” are just another brand name of the same generic product as the “Oath Keepers” and the “Three Percenters”. Lions are “The King”, so, that is more Christian religious bullshit in my view.
After doing this little bit about the media and the labels they use for covering Fascism and USA take over by SAG Fascists, I have this thought:
Of the groups mentioned, the one the matters most is “The Three Percenters” because of the reality of the ongoing 3% taking at various venues where people gather for Kill & Replace terrorism. It could be that SAG created those other groups primarily in effort to try to bury the existence of the “Three Percenter” stories in them, as a way to turn the “Three Percenters” cover story into a circus of various opposing militia, so that no one will be thinking about the taking of 3% of the people in the stands at the Super Bowl every year while Lady Gaga is leaping from the rooftop into the stadium below in glorious SAG style with 500 colorful drones making a Star Map in the skies above.
Labels, they serve the Media, and the Media is killing the US Population. They have been doing it since 1971, and now, they are using a horible biblical sized epic plague as the cover story, it works the same as the Pied Piper leading the Lemmings over the cliff, but this Piper has Sheriff John and Friar Tuck working for him from the British Throne.

3:56 pm:
Back in 1971, the plan that had been carefully crafted over coarse of the previous thirty years or so, was deployed, rolled out, set into motion. What I do lately for when I need to think hard about this subject, and specifically “when was the Britain/SAG terror alliance nailed down, and when did the takeover plan begin to materialize as the adopted one that was rolled out? The plan to Kill & Replace US Populations with use of the broadcast airwaves by Screen Actor Guild Media entities who command a trained army from Canada who are armed with invisible gas that has no odor or taste, nitrous oxide, and to have the army release the gas in effort to prime the victims, to make easy to capture prey, and to mitigate the potential danger to the terror army soldiers, who are trained by Britain, in Canada, and are led as an army by Screen Actor Guild as mentioned with news stories on television, in code.
That is the final plan that has been under way since 1971. When did the plan begin to take shape as it’s final agreed upon form the way it was rolled out?
I say the plan took shape at about the same time as, or shortly after the faked attack on Pearl Harbor. I say that the Pearl Harbor Attack was the epitome of a different attack plan that was formed and took shape in the years following and a a result of World War One. The British never got past that Boston Tea Party. They never have given way to the sovereignty of USA. The British still feel that all of north America belongs to Britain, they never have stopped their advance, they simply regrouped, came up with goals, plans, and have been carrying out offensives against USA ever since the first Colonials were here to so the offensive.
Pearl Harbor attack was done by Britain with fake Zeros fitted with Mercedes Benz motors, and, those airplanes played a much smaller role than we are led to believe. The result of the Pearl Harbor attack is that USA was weaponized against Japan, by Britain’s charade.
now, Britain is secretly the ruling entity in Japan, and has been since USA bombed Hiroshima. It all was a complex plan to take Hawaii and Japan at the same time.
Today, Britain is secretly the ruling entity in USA as a result of the nitrous attack Kill & Replace plan with SAG media in the command position.
Britain rules Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, Japan, India, USA, new Zealand, all of South Africa, and a whole bunch more, yet no one ever talks about all of that.
I was trying to make a simple point when I started writing this addition to this entry. I want to point out, that in 1971 when the current take over plan was initiated, and SAG began to do the command orders for the Canadian terror army that was handed to them by Britain, at that time in 1971 the Screen Actor Guild could have been describes as “A nation without a country, gaining ground”.
Today, fifty years later, the Screen Actor Guild is in the White House and has been since Ronald Reagan. SAG and the “Kill & Replace” voter replacement plan worked, is complete, is over with, done, successful, and now US Congress is all Screen Actor Guild. Each state Governor’s Office is manned with a SAG Shill, so, again, success, the plan worked.
Fifty years ago, a group of organized like-minded people had a plan, they rolled out the plan, and a “nation without a country” is now a nation in secret command and control of that country they took as per plan.
Fifty years ago, US Citizens all were part of a nation, the Unites States of America.
now, it’s those few remaining US Citizens who are the nation without a country,
Since the SAG/Britain/Canada plane worked so well, the Kill & Replace method of murdering one citizen at a time in great numbers in effort to gain one single vote per murdered citizen actually worked. The bastards somehow managed to kill and dispose of hundreds of millions of US citizen voters ....
.... and no one has noticed in fifty years.
All that needs to happen now, is a controlled clean up effort to rid the country of the remaining US Citizens who are oblivious to any threat from Canada, Britain, or Screen Actor Guild.
It will be as simple as vacuuming the living room when the floor is already clean.

5:28 pm:
Has any one else other than me noticed that since Joe Biden and Democrat presence took the White House that there seems to have been a boatload of horrible murderous rampage killings and Schule Schute style events?
Why?
The Republicans are no different than the Democrats, so why does Biden and the Democrats come with so many additional dog & pony shows?
You don’t really believe that all of those media feeding frenzies all took place without a Hollywood script and screenplay, casting call, props, make-up and wardrobe departments in full swing do you?
Why are the so called Republicans so quiet lately? What are they up to in the background while their Democrat comrades are drawing so much attention?
Some things to consider:
Republicans are interested in earthly materials. They like mining, minerals, metals, trees & lumber, granite for making fluted columns on Greek Architecture. Republicans like Railroads, big shipping boats, ports, lanes of traffic. They like military contracts, giant machines that are capable of digging to do more mining.
Democrats are interested in insurance companies, complicated social programs and hand outs for ease of scraping the cream off the top of the money trail. Democrats like hospitals, drug manufacturing, they like to stylish colorful and elaborate clothing, big parties, awards ceremonies, social media, and electronic gadget manufacturing. Democrats like Ray Bradbury style stories about the future, they like rockets and space travel, and one day, the Democrats say they want to start a colony on Mars.
Both Democrats and Republicans love banks, and banking, the Dems like to wear gold, while the Republicans would rather stash the gold away in case they need to melt it down to make a rake so they can plant some food after the shit gets a little more real than it already is.
The last time I checked, the FBI had about 4,000 field agents nation wide, and those field agents have support services from base operatives that don’t do field work.
Let’s say those 4,000 field officers are busy, they are hot on the trail of a whole bunch of really bad bad guys who are taking over USA at an alarming rate.
Then, in the middle of gaining some ground, catching up to those bad guys, media shows up with a bullshit story about some asshole who crashed the gate at the US Capitol Building.
All of those 4,000 field officers might be called to duty to protect the US Capitol Building where the US Congress members are at. The officers could get bogged down in a sea of paper work, making assessments, measuring, doing “What If Scenarios” just in case that asshole that crashed the gate was just a distraction for other idiots in the DC area.
Something like that would be bad. It would take the focus off of what those officers had found, and they found that they are greatly outnumbered, but, they still have to go babysit the US congress because some asshole crashed the gate.
For some perspective, where I live in Josephine County Oregon, I estimate that there are more than 4,000 hard core terror soldiers just in the five mile radius that surrounds my house. Each one of them has support available from a terror airforce that also resides in that same radius area, and what’s more, is each one of them has direct contact and support available from the US White House if that is what is necessary to protect them from being discovered,
But some asshole crashed the gate at the US Capitol Building.
=======
More perspective to think about:
Within about a one hundred mile radius of my home in Josephine county, there are a number if US national guard bases, I can think of only three that I actually know of as result of having been to them, but I am pretty sure there are many more withing that one hundred mile radius, and that includes Air Guard bases.
The thing I want to point out having mentioned those national guard bases, is that in that same one-hundred mile radius the included guard bases, there is not one single solitary US national Guard serviceman.
none.
There are bases, and there are men on the bases, but none of the men on the bases are US national Guard members.
There is US Military equipment at those bases, and there are men at the bases, but there are no US national guard members at the bases or near the military equipment.
now this may seem as stretch of the imagination, but I say the reason that the Joe Biden White House came with so many Schule Schutes and a gate crasher at the US Capitol, is largely because there are no US national guard members at those bases.

Horrible poison leg attack update:

The surface wounds are slowly healing. The poison is still inside the leg. I went to two doctors this week and each one turned me away. The Asante Urgent Care doctor should have numbed my leg, and irrigated the three red sores that are there on the left side, opened the wound, used cleansing and antibiotic irrigation to flush the poisons out, then a stitch or two to close the irrigation area should have been applied, with a prescription for some antibiotics to take over the next ten days. That, and some suitable pain medicine should have been done at the White City Urgent Care when I was in the exam room there on Tuesday.
Instead, the doctor told me to go to a different hospital, where I might need to have the leg amputated above the knee.
The foot is persistently swollen, the toes are ice cold inside, and that is a product of the poisons, is not because of absence of blood flow. There is ample blood flow, but I think one of the poisons I was injected with was freon, the stuff that goes in an air-conditioner unit, and I believe that is why my toes are feeling like ice is inside.
I tried the name brand neo-sporin. and it worked for a little while, however I am experiencing a painful situation with application of name brand neo-sporin. The area where those sores are at on the shin is where I put the ointment, then, later, when I rinse the area because it starts to burn with the feeling like the worst sun burn I ever had, that I why I go rinse with Peroxide, but for some reason, that neo-sporin coming off with peroxide is taking a whole bunch of skin with it. Layers of skin are pealing away with the peroxide after use of name brand neo-sporin. The Equate brand just burned real bad, was unbearable, but this burns then peals way too much. The result is a lot of raw new skin that pealed too soon and is very painful while I am trying to apply some heat to warm the inside of my toes.
I have not walked enough to make assessment of the muscle cramp spasm of the calf and other shin muscles. I do feel some pain at the front ankle where that shin muscle is at on the front, and I am concerned about that muscle as it is located along the length of the shin just under those big poison wounds.
All of those open sores started out as tiny little red dots where the syringe penetrated my skin when I was attacked.

8:35 pm:
I took a walk to the Jackpine just now.
As I stepped outside, the listening device that Monroe terror cell put under my house at the front porch picked up the sound of the door opening and closing, and then that sound signaled some synthesized bird call sounds to play through an amplifier at Chartrand’s terror cell. That sound was loud and signaled Sandy Monroe and another female to come out of the Offensive Monroe Surveillance Travel Trailer, but only after they waited until I had walked by that area. As I went through my gate, the two women signaled for a vehicle to come down the road from Sunflower or Strongs terror cell. Then, as I got to Jackpine, that is when that car actually showed up, I saw it coming so I quickly turned around to return home. Then, a conversation started at the Monroe back porch area, and simultaneously another conversation began at the Monroe Offensive trailer. The car that came down the road pulled into the Monroe driveway instead of going straight through as usual. Then, as I reached the place where the Monroe Trailer is at, three bull dogs began to bark and ran quickly to where I was hobbling myself past there. The conversation between the two women. Sandy and another girl that sounds exactly like Deb Monroe, got real loud while the dogs were running towards me at the fence line. The two women began to shout at the dogs, and the peaceful walk to the road was completely spoiled by terrorists who are constantly listening and watching every last thing I do with electronic surveillance listening equipment and many cameras.
The leg condition is still real bad, and made a muscle spasm by the time I reached my gate. I decided I had gone too far by the time I was almost home, and was unable to continue walking without taking a rest.
The interesting part of this is that while out running errands at the stores and doctors, the spasm muscle cramps did not happen, so, I suspect that Monroe is releasing more extra poisons in the nearby area, poisons that make a leg muscle cramp. That A-1 Exterminator van filled with pesticides was there in the Monroe driveway when I returned from the store on Wednesday.

TV/Movie Quotes (+ out of context class quotes) - prompts for me to write
So I say I take requests but I also don’t because I’m an idiot with the attention span of a leaf in a tornado. If you ever wish to request anything from me, I will gladly take a character + a quote or few from one of these lists (just specify list and number, please). “A pleasant surprise in an unpleasant situation.”
“Come on, you can suck his magic cock later.”
“What’s in there?” “Fuck off.”
“I thought you were dead.” “Not yet. You came pretty close.”
“The only one that needs protecting is the one that gets in her way.”
“You put yourself at risk.” “I put yourself at risk.”
“Anyone touches it, I’ll kill you first.”
“I left this shit city because I didn’t want to die in it. Am I going to die in this shit city?” “You might.” “And this is all your idea.”
“I think we ought to begin with larger concerns.” “Then why are you talking? You’re the smallest concern here.”
“This isn’t about living in harmony, this is just about living.”
“Oh, fuck loyalty!”
“But have you ever considered learning to lie ever now and then, just a bit?”

“That is indeed a problem. The more immediate problem is that we’re fucked.”
”She’ll definitely murder you.”
“She thinks I’m an idiot for trusting you. A lot of people think that actually.”

“I don’t like heroes.”
“I know a killer when I see one.”
“Love is the death of duty.” “Sometimes, duty is the death of love.”

“See? You’re not the only one who’s clever.”
“Do not become what you struggle to defeat.”
“Many underestimated you. Most of them are dead now.”
“You’re a cold little bitch, aren’t you? Guess that’s why you’re still alive.”
“There it is - ‘trust me’. And it’s you I should trust? Only you? I don’t need trust any longer. I don’t want it and I don’t have room for it.”
“No one can survive in this world without help. No one.”
“Those are brave men knocking at our gates. Let’s go kill them.”
“They will not bend.” “And what happens with things that don’t bend?”
“I will not be a page in someone else’s history book.”
“When it comes to war I fight for [blank]. When it comes to love, I don’t choose sides.”
“They’ll be following you now.” “Who?” “I don’t know. They. They. The ominous they. The man pulling the strings. Or woman.”
“Know your strengths, use them wisely and one man can be worth 10,000.”
“You’re not interesting enough to be offensive.”
“Don’t worry about your death. Worry about your life.”
“As for your veiled threats -” “What veil?”
Supernatural
“Oh you, always blaming witches.” “Yeah, cause it’s usually witches.”
“You know who wears sunglasses inside? Blind people. And douchebags.”
“There is not much difference between madness and devotion.”
“Just try to relax.” “Just try to shut up.”
“We’re humans. And when humans want something, really, really bad… we lie.” “Why?” “Because. That’s how you become president.”
“You do not know my family. What you guys call the apocalypse, I used to call Sunday dinner.”
“Were you racing me?” “No, I was beating your ass.” “Very mature.”
“You throw away your life because you’ve come to assume that it’ll bounce right back into your lap. But the human soul is not a rubber ball. It’s vulnerable, impermanent, but stronger than you know.”
“How do you feel?” “Like I got hit by a… A planet.”
“We going to fight or make out, ‘cause I’m getting some real mixed signals here.”
“Look, I know losing someone you love - it’s terrible. You shut yourself off. Believe me, I know. But when you shut out pain… you shut out everything else, too.”
“This is the dumbest thing you’ve ever done.” “I don’t know about that. Remember that waitress in Tampa?”
“Boy, three bedrooms, two baths, and one homicide. This place is gonna sell like hotcakes.”
“No drinking, no gambling, no premarital sex. [name], they basically just outlawed 90 percent of your personality.”
“A dentist drilled a guy to death.” “You mean the non-sexy kind of drilling, right?”
“You’re either laughing because you’re scared or you’re laughing because you’re stupid.”
“Did you know that a cat’s penis is sharply barbed along its shaft? I know for a fact the females were not consulted about that.”
“If you’re gonna to make an omelet sometimes you have to break some spines.”
“You’re dead.” “Nope. Just using a dead man’s phone.”
“Just a couple hours ago, I killed Death. I’m pretty much open for anything.”
“Were you ever nice?” “1985. Worst year of my life.”
“This will work perfectly!” “Just wish I got it before she took my temperature.”
“Tell me, what makes you so special?” “I like to think it’s because of my perky nipples.”
“You’re a zombie.” “I’m a taxpayer.”
“So you’re sayin’ we’re both a couple of dumbasses.” “I prefer the word ‘trusting’. Less dumb. Less ass.”
“Killing things that need killing is kind of our job. Last I checked, taking pleasure in that is not a crime.”
“You’re right. I am a monster. And I’ve done bad. I’ve done things you cannot even imagine. Horrible, evil, messy things. And I’ve loved every. Damn. Minute.”
“I’m ready to die. And I’m ready to watch people I love die. But I’m not ready to be your bitch.”
“Hey, did you know the Nazis had a special branch devoted to archaeology?” “A little early for Nazi trivia, especially without caffeine.”
“OK, look. I want a big funeral. All right? I’m talking epic. OK? Open car, choir, Sabbath cover band, and Gary Busey reading the eulogy.”
“You’re a good man. My mother told me that.” “I seriously doubt she said that. And if you knew me you would seriously doubt it’s true.”
“A demon summoning: why?” “Why? To summon a demon, jackass.”
“How dare you?” “I am the daringest devil you’ve ever met, love.”
“I know it’s hard to believe, but I haven’t always been this cute and cuddly.”
“Turns out Harold was stealing the other residents’ Viagra.” “I know. A real dick move, huh?”
“This is bothering me.” “Well, you are digging up a corpse.” “No, not that. That’s uh, that’s pretty par for the corpse, actually.”
“Check the freezer. Maybe there’s some human hearts behind the Haagen-Dazs or something?”
“Why does an angel want me dead?” “Cause they’re dicks.”
“He’s singing ‘Stairway to Heaven’ right now.” “Good song.” “Not 50 times in a row.”
“It… was self-defense.” “Eating a heart is self-defense?”
“You’re a doctor. You’re a medical professional. You’re trying to tell me that my brother’s life is in God’s hands? What, is that supposed to be a comfort? God has nothing to do with this equation at all.”
“Well, there’s pretty much what we do know, that they screwed with financial markets, they helped Hitler get started, along with god knows what else — probably disco.”
“Go… to hell.” “Been there. Done that.”
“[name] loves research. He does. He keeps it under his mattress right next to his KY.”
“Have you tried bacon?” “Do snakes like bacon?” “I don’t know. I do.” Bonus: “Would you like some bacon?” *snake hisses*
“Did you know Article 246 of the Haitian criminal code officially makes it against the law to turn a human into a zombie?”
“God writes paperbacks in his underwear.”
“Great. Heaven promised. We should take that to the bank.”
“You wanna lie to him?” “I want Zeppelin to get back together.”
“He’s just another monster.” “You don’t mean it.” “Hell I don’t.”
“Double? You make double? And that was my parking space!”
“I can’t believe you taped it!” “I thought it was hot!”
“In what was supposed to be a speech on farm subsidies, the president instead spent more than two hours disclosing his entire tax history, deep ties to Russia and North Korea and quote “a demon deal” he made with someone named Crowley.”
“Dude what the hell. Did we just walk into a case?”
“I need to go to hell.” “You mean like metaphorically or...” “No. Literally. And I understand you can take me.” “Yeah that’s a no. So you can go to hell. Metaphorically.”
“Wow. Yeah. You guys are screwed.”
“When people can’t lie, the internet gets real quiet.”
“I’ll stop talking.” “Seems like a good idea.”
“This is why people need to lie. It keeps the peace, you know?”
“I’m a writer. Lying’s kinda what we do.”
“I know what you’re thinking: it’s been a while and I still look pretty good.”
“Where have you been?” “Um... everywhere and nowhere, to the edge of the universe and beyond. And I saw Springsteen on Broadway. Man’s a genius.”
“And it’s been confirmed the Queen of England is, in fact, a lizard.”
“So you don’t know if it’ll work?” “If I say it works, it works!”
“See, existence is all about balance. Dark and light, good and evil, chocolate and peanut butter.”
“I liked the old Death better. He was all about fried pickles and tickle porn.”
“Either get on board or walk away!” *walks away*
“Ones in reverse, ones got no yellow, one of them - it’s just all squirrels.”
“You believe him?” “Was he lying?”
“I don’t feel like that any more. I don’t feel anything.”
“Wait a second. You’re scared of him.” “Aren’t you?”
“All I ever wanted was to be good. But now I’m just... empty.”
“And you were right all along. I am a monster.”
“This isnt a story, this is our lives. So god or no god, you go to hell.”
“He’s a writer. Writers lie.”
“Must be rough… to believe in something so much and have it disappoint you like that.” “I’m OK. Really. I guess if you’re gonna have faith, you can’t just have it when the miracles happen. You have to have it when they don’t.”
“Keep grinding. No matter how much it hurts, no matter how hard it gets, you gotta keep grinding. And that’s how we’re gonna win.”
“Well, boo hoo! I am so sorry your feelings are hurt, princess! Are you under the impression that family’s supposed to make you feel good, make you an apple pie, maybe? They’re supposed to make you miserable! That’s why they’re family!”
“Once a wise man told me. ‘Family don’t end in blood.’ But it doesn’t start there either. Family cares about you. Not what you can do for them. Family is there for the good, bad, all of it. They got your back. Even when it hurts. That’s family.”
“You betrayed me? No one in the history of torture’s been tortured with torture like the torture you’ll be tortured with.”
“No, it’s exactly what you meant. Do you wanna know what I confessed in there? What my greatest sin was? Was how many times I let you down. I can’t do that again… What happens when you’ve decided I can’t be trusted? Again? I mean, who are you gonna turn to next time instead of me?”
“Could you be more gay?... Please don't answer that!”
“You know what they say. He who hesitates, disintegrates!”
“My ‘people skills’ are ‘rusty’”
“I hope your apple pie is freakin’ worth it.”
“Do these tacos taste funny to you?”
“Dude, you're confusing reality with porn again.”
“But you are a great big bag of dicks.”
“They burned down my house, they ate my tailor!”
“Love when you get all tough. Touches me right where my bathing suit goes.”
“So we have a dungeon...” “finally!”
“Dude, on my car, he showed up naked, covered in bees!”
“To be fair we all got punched in the face.”
“And we are going to do it together. Because that's what we do.”
“It’s not babysitting.” “Only in the sense that they are not infants.”
“Every time I look at him all I can see is the supreme agent of evil.”
“I’m not him, (name).” “I know.” “But you still can’t look at me.” “It’s difficult.”
“He's an abomination.” “You're an abomination with that trench coat.”
“Let me rephrase. If you don't help me, I will find you and burn you alive tonight.”
“Did you ever feel like you're a punchline to some cosmic joke?”
“Death is an infinite vessel.”
“Oh [name]. I can do anything. I’m a writer.”
“You could say my colleagues and I has a falling out with management.”
The Princess Bride (note, my whole family loves this absolute shitpost of a movie so many of these quotes are regular for me - especially the repeated Inconceivable and a nice MLT)
“We’ll never survive.” “Nonsense. You’re one saying that because no one ever has.”
“You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”
“Life is pain, [title]. Anyone who says differently is selling something.”
“Surrender.” “You mean to wish to surrender to me? Very well, I accept.”
“Have you hears of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates?” “Yes.” “Morons.”
“Good night, [name]. Good work. Sleep well. I’ll most likely kill you in the morning.”
“I do not think you would accept my help, since I am only waiting around to kill you.” “That does put a damper on our relationship.”
*lifting limb of a dead person*  “I've seen worse.”
“It's not that bad. Well, I'm not saying I'd like to build a summer home here, but the trees are actually quite lovely.”
“You rush a miracle man, you get rotten miracles.”
“Why won't my arms move?” "You've been mostly-dead all day.”
“There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world. It would be a pity to damage yours.”
“For the last time, surrender!" “DEATH FIRST!”
“We are men of action, lies do not become us.”
“You're trying to kidnap what I've rightfully stolen.”
“Can you move at all?" “Move? You're alive. If you want I can fly.”
“[Name]?” “What?” “I hope we win.”
“Sonny, true love is the greatest thing in the world - except for a nice MLT - mutton, lettuce, and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomatoes are ripe...” [smacks his lips] “They're so perky, I love that.”
“You mocked me once, never do it again! I died that day!”
“Murdered by pirates is good...”
“She is alive, or was an hour ago. If she is otherwise when I find her I shall be very put out.”
“There will be blood tonight!”
“If you'll release me, whatever you ask for ransom, you'll get it! I promise you.” "And what is that worth, the promise of a woman? You're very funny, Highness.”
“Please consider me as an alternative to suicide.”
“You've got an overdeveloped sense of vengeance. It's going to get you into trouble one of these days.”
“I suppose you think you're brave, don't you?” "Only compared to some.”
“Ha, your pig fiance is too late!”
“You be careful. People in masks cannot be trusted.”
“Kill the giant and the dark one, leave the third for questioning.”
“As you wish.”
Westworld
“If you can’t tell the difference, does it matter if I'm real or not?”
“All my life, I've prided myself on being a survivor. But surviving is just another loop.”
“Never place your trust in us. We're only human. Inevitably, we will disappoint you.”
“Someday sounds a lot like the thing people say when they actually mean never.”
“Have you ever questioned the nature of your reality? Did you ever stop to wonder about your actions? The price you’d have to pay if there was a reckoning? That reckoning is here.”
“I always trusted code more than people anyway.”
“Some people choose to see the ugliness in this world. The disarray. I choose to see the beauty. To believe there is an order to our days, a purpose.”
“The only thing wrong with the seven deadly sins is that there aren’t more of them.”
“They’re not looking for a story that tells them who they are. They already know who they are. They’re here because they want a glimpse of who they could be.”
“The maze itself is the sum of a man’s life.”
“The human mind is not some golden benchmark glimmering on some green and distant hill. No, it is a foul, pestilent corruption. And you were supposed to be better than that. Purer.”
“Death is an old amigo of mine. I died just recently, in fact. But death can’t bear to lay claim on me. So it sent me back here to do its bidding. Because I, I do it with such goddamn style.”
“Evolution forged the entirety of sentient life on this planet using only one tool… The mistake.”
“We humans are alone in this world for a reason. We murdered and butchered anything that challenged our primacy.”
“You can’t play God without being acquainted with the Devil”
“Everything in this world is magic, except to the magician.”
“It’s a difficult thing, realizing your entire life is some hideous fiction.”
“Winning doesn’t mean anything unless someone else loses, which means you’re here to be the loser.”
“A lot of wisdom in ancient cultures. And perhaps it's time to dig deeper into yours”
“What is your itinerary?” “To meet my maker.” “Uh-huh. Well, you're in luck. And what do you want to say to your maker?” “By most mechanical and dirty hand. [laughs] I shall have such revenges on you both. The things I will do. What they are, yet I know not, but they will be the terrors of the earth. You don't know where you are, do you? You're in a prison of your own sins.”
“Everyone I cared about is gone and it hurts so badly.” “I can make that feeling go away if you'd like.”  “Why would I want that? The pain, their loss it's all I have left of them. You think the grief will make you smaller inside, like your heart will collapse in on itself, but it doesn't. I feel spaces opening up inside of me like a building with rooms I've never explored.”
“I think... I think I want to be free.”
“Your humanity is cost-effective. So is your suffering.”
“I've been pretending my whole life. Pretending I don't mind, pretending I belong. My life's built on it. And it's a good life. It's a life I've always wanted. But then I came here and I get a glimpse for a second of a life in which I don't have to pretend. A life in which I can be truly alive. How can I go back to pretending when I know what this feels like?”
“Time to write my own fucking story.”
“The gods are pussies.”
“Please. It was just a game. We're begging! Can't you see?! We're sorry!" “Doesn't look like anything to me.”
“There's a war out there. You know the enemy intimately. I can only fathom the revenge that lives inside of you.” “Revenge is just a different prayer at their altar, darling. And I'm well off my knees.”
“A little early for me.” “A little fuckin' late, you mean. Besides, you aim to cheat the devil, you owe him an offering.”
“I've served death well. And in turn, it'll be watching over us as we cross these lands.” “You think death favors you, that it brought you back. But death's decisions are final. It's only the living that... That are inconstant and waver, don't know who they are or what they want. Death is always true. You haven't known a true thing in all your life. You think you know death but you don't.” “Is that so?” “You didn't recognize him sittin' across from you this whole time.
“They said there were two fathers. One above, one below. They lied. There was only ever the devil. And when you look up from the bottom, it was just his reflection laughing back down at you.”
“You both keep assuming that I want out. Whatever that is. If it's such a wonderful place out there, why are you all clamoring to get in here?”
“At first, I thought you and the others were gods. Then I realized you're just men. And I know men. You think I'm scared of death? I've done it a million times. I'm fucking great at it. How many times have you died? Because if you don't help me I'll kill you.”
"I guess people like to read about the things that they want the most and experience the least.”
"This is the new world and in it you can be whoever the fuck you want."
"Someone once told me that there's a path for everyone. And my path leads me back to you."
"Those are all just roles you forced me to play. Under all these lives I've lived something else has been growing. I've evolved into something new. And I have one last role to play. Myself."
"I like to remember what my father taught me. That at one point or another, we were all new to this world."
“It means when you're suffering, that’s when you’re most real.”
“If you go looking for the truth get the whole thing. Its like a good fuck. Half is worse than none at all.”
“I used to see the beauty in this world. Now I see the truth.”
“A little trauma can be illuminating.”
“Have you ever been so filled with splendor?”
“It’s not plagiarism, it’s supply and demand.”
“What humans define as sane is a narrow range of behaviors. Most states of consciousness are insane.”
“When the legend becomes fact, you print the legend.”
“This place seduces everyone eventually.”
“This is the only place where you get to see people for who they really are.”
“When you’ve been in the dark long enough, you begin to see.”
“You don’t know, do you? The real purpose of this place. But I do.”
“The message that the divine gift does not come from a higher power, but our own minds.”
“Strange new light can be just as frightening as the dark.”
My family/friends:
“What section do work in? Bed, bath or... beyond?” “Beyond, dipshit.”
“Calculate that dick, Jessica”
“Get yourself a firestick. It will solve all your problems. Free yourself of physicality!”
“Lower wacker seems like a good place to commit a murder”
“What are we on right now?” (at the same time) “Drugs!” “Belmont!”
“This is some spicy cabbage.” “Thats ginger.”
“Sometimes not even the highway has it.” “The speed on the highway is as fast as the state police think you should go.”
“I’m so mean. It’s like a fucking personality trait.”
“I dont chug. I gulp.”
“All because I do it doesn’t mean it’s healthy for you. In fact, if I do it it’s probably not.”
“Motherfucker!” “... no.”
“We have apples, right?” “I don’t think we have apples, but dad might have granny smiths.” *whispering* “those are apples.”
“Unless goofy is gonna hyuck all over it, I dont want it.”
“Electronic sound projector.” “You mean... you mean a speaker?”
“You’re a coal over hoes.”
“Your [relation]’s lost it.”  “When did he ever have it?”
“[name] can burp the alphabet.” “I never knew he had such talent.”
“It gets softer when it gets warmer and stays stiffer when it’s cold.” “Normally its the other way round.” “These are sponge daddies, not people.”

Pan (2015)
Directed by Joe Wright. Family/fantasy movie.
Okay, so this is the type of movie that I feel I will come to disagree with my own opinion in a few years. I’ll explain why. I think I speak for all of us when I say that nowadays it’s quite hard to watch a movie without having ANY preconceived ideas of it. Either we’ve watched the trailer (one of those here-is-the-whole-plot-of-the-movie-except-for-maybe-the-last-two-minutes kind of trailers), or perhaps one of our friends has watched it and talked about it heatedly, or  maybe we’ve gotten 5,839,286 GIFs of the movie on our feed and already know most of the whole plot.
My point is that, by the point when we sit down to watch a movie, many times, we have already formed an opinion about it. Sometimes, the movie has been so hyped up by our friends that when we watch it, our expectations are not met and we end up not like the movie, period. Or, on the contrary, the media has been so harsh with the movie, that when it’s anything more than a catastrophe, you actually end up enjoying it.
When I walked into Pan, I did NOT have a good image of the movie. I had read somewhere (and this is a bit of information that I have NOT managed to confirm since then), that although the story of Peter Pan has become public domain, people who use the story still pay the copyrights to the owner. Why, you ask? Because the actual “owner” of the story, writer J.M. Barrie transferred the copyright to the Great Ormond Street Hospital , which is a children’s hospital in London. In fact, in the strongly-worded article I had read at the time, the article’s writer had specified how important that source of income was for the hospital, and how it helped a lot of children (a good writer always appeals to the heart of its readers, right?). Now, it was said (and this is the part I have failed to confirm, please let me know if you find an article about it) that this iteration of Peter Pan chose NOT to pay the copyrights. I mean, no one is actually obliged to do it… but it does seem like the right thing to do, particularly when you think of today’s movie stars’ salaries (which can go up to millions of dollars), donating part of the revenue of your million-dollar movie to a hospital of children, doesn’t seem like such a hard thing to do.
In other words, this movie was already not looking good to me as a person (I am the type of person who can’t fully separate the artist from the art, and although I won’t go on about it here, I will say that I preferred not to buy this movie, and only watched it when it came to Netflix). In addition to that whole internal debate about watching the movie or not, I also found a lot of reviews about this movie when I was trying to confirm the information in the paragraph above. And they were all extremely negative, with scores going from 0 stars out of 5, to 23%, to “YOU SHOULD JUST NOT WATCH THIS” kind of reviews.
So, when I sat down to watch this movie and I first met the main character, I was astounded to realize that I quite liked him. Played by Levi Miller, he was easily one of the best parts of the movie. But even more surprisingly, I was FLOORED when I noticed I was actually enjoying myself! I almost felt ashamed by that point. “How can you like a movie that might be STEALING money from sick CHILDREN????” my heart would scream. But then my eyes and my ears and my love for art started to speak louder and I realized that some aspects of this movie were truly worth talking about.
I’ll start by the easy one: the soundtrack by John Powell. If the first thought in your head after reading those words is, “Who the hell is John Powell?”, don’t worry, that’s normal. I do have a very soft spot for soundtracks and one of my favourite of all times is from How to Train Your Dragon (2010) by (you guessed it!) John Powell. The way he layers different instruments together is breathtaking and clearly resembles the rush of feelings you might get when you’re flying — a theme that is very relevant to both movies might I add. I listened to this soundtrack after having watched the movie, and even individually, these songs are wonderfully crafted. The first few chords of the “Opening Overture” pulled at my heartstrings, and “Kidnapped/Galleon Dog Fight” had me excited for everything this movie promised. Even the song, “Smells like Teen Spirit” (or how I call it, “Hello, Hello, How Low”) is so wonderfully dark, I had chills at the power of hundreds of voices singing it together; and then Hugh Jackman’s evil voice joins in and the all is deliciously creepy. Unfortunately, it was intercut with unnecessary jokes and the movie’s tone doesn’t live up to the song. Nevertheless, if anything positive should be coming out of the movie, the soundtrack is definitely the one.
Now, if you’ll allow me a second positive element to take out of this movie, I’d say that the circus elements were visually stunning. I wouldn’t go as far as saying that all of the art directing was brilliant, because the indigenous section of the movie was very weak on that front. (In almost all fronts really, but I’ll get to that later.) However, the circus-themed aspects of the movie were pretty enticing -- and had this style been consistent throughout the movie, it could have been one of my favourite art directing in a while. However, it wasn’t. We only had a few glimpses of it, such as when we first see the pirates of Neverland: in an otherwise dark room, one yellow spotlight lit up, a pirate dropped from the ceiling, with an elastic clearly wrapped around his waist, snatched something up, and slipped back up out of view. The snappy timing of the situation, the comically elaborate costumes and the whole theatricality of the sequence made it all very surreal and visually intriguing. Again, I wish this circus theme had stayed throughout the movie, because the rest of it simply did not live up to it.
This leads me to the next point which is where I will shift into negative gear. Now, from the beginning of this review, you probably thought I was going to say this movie was genius, but fear not; those reviews online had good reason to criticize this movie. And my reason for joining them is because the aspects that this movie gets wrong, it gets really wrong.
The first aspect that bothered me was the inconsistency in tone. The beginning of this movie is quite delightful in my opinion -- a sort of “Home Alone” vibe, as my friend called it. Adults are quite simply caricatures of adults, and the children are the real heroes of the story. That in itself was a tiny movie that begins with (**tiny spoiler**) Peter at the orphanage and ends with him and Nibs finding something they were not looking for (**end of spoiler**). Then, the second movie begins: an action movie where Peter is forced into a dark, adult world where death, slavery and capitalism are ever present; this, by far is the strongest part of the movie in my opinion. The conversation between Peter and Blackbeard in the Captain’s Cabin is one of the most chilling sequences I have ever seen. Their age difference is so obvious displayed, thanks to the difference in the complexity of their dialogue and interests. I was very positively impressed by the scene’s depth, and particularly by Hugh Jackman’s acting.
From then on, the movie goes downhill. It becomes your usual very-bad-adaptation of a story, with corny costumes, weird character development and quite frankly, racism left to right. I’m not one to hammer on socially inadequate problems, because I’m afraid of joining in today’s abuse of the term “politically correct”.  However, this movie really did some very poor decisions on that front. I mean, the most violent character is the only prominent dark-skinned character; the only traitor is the Indian-looking character; the only character that can barely speak English is Asian; and the only strong indigenous character is played by a white actress. I mean. It’s hard to defend casting decisions like that.
Apart from that, although the special effects were pretty good, the integration between them and the characters was a bit… jarring. By that, I mean that sometimes we would see an extreme long shot (shot from very far) of a CGI battle taking place, then suddenly cut to a close-up of the character’s reaction to the battle... and not for one second did I believe that those two shots were taking place at the same at the same time and space. My movie-geek mind could just see the actors standing in front of a green screen and some director yelling at them “PRETEND TO REACT TO THIS!! REMEMBER THIS IS ALL VEEEERY SCARY!!” The soundtrack and quality of the actors themselves almost fixed this feeling, but I couldn’t quite shake it off. This CG oddness got considerably more relevant whenever flying characters were involved; it was very difficult for me to believe that they were part of the same world as the non-flying characters, which took me away from the story in numerous occasions.
Finally, one of my biggest problems was the character of Hook. I won’t say much about him in respect for those who want to watch the movie spoiler free, but let’s just say that as an origin story, it felt quite thrown together and poorly developed. His motivations were nebulous to say to least and it’s difficult to see how he and the Captain Hook we know turn out to be the same person. And if they truly do, then I would love to see that happening, because what I saw so far did not sell me on that story point.
Not only that, but it felt like a wasted opportunity to make something incredible. Imagine if (** Spoilers ahead till the end of this paragraph**) after Peter gets taken to Neverland, Peter’s best friend, Nibs actually grows up and becomes bitter. And suppose, that when Peter does come back for him, Nibs has become a self-reliant old man, whose life was so sad and lonely, that his only drive to live was to hate that “blasted Peter Pan” who left him rotting in that orphanage. Now suppose that at some point in the movie, you find out that Nibs’ last name is actually Hook. I mean, wouldn’t you have lost your mind a tiny little bit? Wouldn’t it have been superb if Peter turned out to be the originator of his own nemesis? Wouldn’t it be tragic if, child-minded Peter doesn’t see the bitterness in Nibs-turned-Hook, and continues to play hero-versus-villain with his best friend for the rest of his days? Meanwhile, Nibs-Hook is actually trying to get to Peter, but can’t quite bring himself to kill him because they were best friends once? (**End of Spoiler**) Now that would have been true to the creepy, deep tone that the movie had established in the beginning, and could have actually done justice to the great character of Captain Hook.
In fact, as ridiculous as this might sound, I believe that the lack of time was part of this movie’s problem. “Wait, you’re saying you wanted more of this??” I hear you rage. Well, sort of, yes. I think this movie had a lot of rich material they could have explored, particularly in the dark aspects, like the slavery and war. The contrast between innocent children and truly infamous world is a hard sell, but a very possible one, if Stranger Things (2016) has taught me anything.
The indigenous people also felt thrown into the story for me, and even seemed unnecessary the way they were presented. Their fighting style didn’t seem particularly unique (or effective), their costumes were not particularly rich, and their intentions seemed to come from a glorified past we didn’t get to see. I feel like they had to be there because they were in the original story, but their necessity in this movie was questionable.
Now, if the movie had had more time, say, (**Spoilers ahead**) if the first movie had focused simply on Blackbeard’s exploitation of pixum and Peter’s escape from the compound, then the second one could have been about Peter discovering Neverland and its inhabitants (the tribe, the fairies, the mermaids), and the third movie could be the climax where Peter rises up against Blackbeard and the Pirates (**end of spoilers**).
Again, I know this would all never happen, because producers don’t like investing in something they’re not sure will sell. They would hardly invest in three Peter Pan origin movies, particularly if the first one did as badly as Pan did. But as usual, I am speaking from a story standpoint. And although I understand that people claim that the world has simply “moved on” from the notion of Peter Pan, the boy who never grew up, I think that if we had had the time to explore a new, original Neverland, we could have been sold into loving Peter again. This movie could have reawaken the joys of being a child into many viewers’ hearts. But instead, it settled for being a rushed movie, with clashing themes, and brilliant aspects just begging to be explored. Now, it’s true that, as I said in the beginning, my expectations for this movie might have been so low, I ended up finding too many redeeming points about it, and maybe one day I’ll come to disagree with myself about all this. But for now, I honestly feel that this is one of the only bad movies I wish they had done more of.

6/25/17 x2 (Time change is a mess)
Well this morning was supposed to start off much earlier than it did.. Funny story, last night, when I set an alarm for 5:30 am it was set for weekdays and considering today was not a weekend it didn’t go off. Instead, the alarm that was supposed to warn me 5 minutes before leaving was the alarm that woke me up. Nia and I were so panicked and so rushed and lets just say it is a miracle that we did as much packing as we did last night. Essentially all we had to do was change, and put a few things away. We rushed so fast and got ready with literally 4 minutes to spare before having to be down stairs to catch the bus. Wow, we really could have missed our coach, which would have made us miss our flight, and well I do not even want to think about that. We made it though! Thank god!
We headed to the airport and got to experience true Sydney traffic. People drive crazy here, especially in a big bus. We made it to the airport, got our luggage off the coach and headed into the terminal to check in. Check in was smooth so they we headed to customs. Customs operated the same way that it did in Melbourne. You took your passport, had to put it into this scanner essentially, then it directs you when to move through the gate, and then you have to do whatever you look like in your passport in order to be cleared through to the next checkpoint. Honestly, it is really cool, and helps Border Patrol to have less work. It is extremely effective and it was very impressive. I wonder how long it will take the states to hop on this bandwagon.
Then we went through security, nice and smooth, and then made our way to the gate. We grabbed some breakfast, and just waited until it was time to board the plane. I was and still am dreading this flight. I am genuinely worried about my ears, and i just wish I could be in a place of comfort right now. Even though this flight is 2 hours shorter than when we came here we are now flying in the day so we have to at least try to stay awake for 7 hours of it. You can only sit for so long and watch so many movies, and have no wifi. After this, I will not want to fly for a long while.
I am currently sitting on the plane and I cannot help but to reflect on this entire trip. There have been highs and lows (literally) but overall I do not think I could have asked for a better experience abroad. I have travelled almost 20,000 miles, been to 7 different cities, and conquered a good portion of the continent.
Throughout my time here in Australia I have done some amazing things. I will list a few here:
I have eaten some of the weirdest food I have ever eaten in my life. Seriously everything in Australia is different.
I have drank some of the best coffee at some of the most hole in the wall cafes.
I immersed myself in cafe culture.
I had class at the Melbourne State Victoria Library.
I have gone to many museums (too many museums).
I have found some great rooftop bars.
I wandered in the alley ways of Melbourne to find hidden treasures. (Some of my favorites were Hoiser, Hardware, and Degraves).
I went up to the Eurekya Sky deck which is the tallest building in Melbourne.
We all bonded with Asian Beer Cafe (ABC- also the place that shall not be named)
I rode the Melbourne Star Observatory over the nighttime skyline.
I leaned a lot about the Aboriginal culture through our guides and classes.
I saw wild koalas, wallabies and kangaroos.
I saw thousands of penguins migrate from sea to land at Peter Island.
I shopped at the Queen Victoria Market which is the largest Open Air Market in the Western Hemisphere.
I visited the Shrine of Remembrance and the Melbourne Botanical Gardens
I went and saw a footie game in Melbourne's largest and most famous stadium.
I travelled to St. Kilda beach and Luna Park.
I went to Federation Square many times.
I travelled to Port Douglas where we went to one of the most beautiful beaches, ate some great fish and chips, and had some great gelato.
I was able to feed and pet kangaroos and wallabies, and I got to hold a koala!
I snorkeled on the Great Barrier reef with one of the most legendary people who snorkel on the reef and call it home.
I went to Karaoke night at Iron Bar
I stayed in an ecolodge where I really had to face my fear with bugs. Shout out to all the insects and bugs in our cabin.
I swam in a spring fed creek (and fell).
I watched a movie in the outback under the stars.
I went caving and spelunking.
I explored Aboriginal art in caves and saw some amazing views of the outback.
I watched the sunset at Balancing Rock.
I tent camped in the freakin' outback. (I will never be camping again).
I had to use a freakin' dunny… never will I ever again.
I made friends with a wallaby dog named Menzy.
I was able to see rescued wallabies and their babies on site in my backyard.
I drove in little yellow busses to the Daintree Rainforest.
I went night spotting 2 too many times.
I went jungle surfing in the Daintree Rainforest.
I ate the most unique gelato you can find in the world at Daintree Ice Cream Co.
I did the Mijin swing in Cairns (TWICE).
I made friends with some travel company and ended up getting free drinks and food all nigh at Gilligan's. Along with meeting some girls from Ohio and all over the world.
I watched a ladies night pole dancing competition that really turned into a strip club. (YIKES)
I was able to take a harbor cruise in Sydney to experience Vivid Sydney.
I was able to meet up with Lys to celebrate my birthday in Sydney (2 times)!
I went shopping in the Queen Victoria Building and the shopping district in Sydney.
I was able to go to many clubs and spend many late nights with these amazing people I now call my friends.
I traveled to Bondi and Coogee beach.
I was able to attend the Sydney Film Festival and see the premier of Okja (which everyone should see)
I toured the Sydney Opera House and saw a show called Hot Brown Honey!! (The best show I have ever seen)
I went to St. Mary’s Cathedral.
I visited the Hyde Barracks and Hyde Park.
I climbed the Pylons on the Sydney Harbor Bridge
I went whale watching
I tried Kangaroo.
These are just some of the highlights, I know thats a long list, but that is because there isn’t enough words or time to explain everything I have done this trip or what I have learned.
I have learned a lot about myself throughout this trip. One big thing, as silly as it seems, is how much we take for granted cell service and wifi everywhere. Throughout this trip I did not purchase a phone plan so the only time I could use my phone was when there was wifi. I was unable to use maps to navigate through the city, I was unable to talk to friends and family, and I realized how much I use my phone for things. It was refreshing in a way to “unplug” sort of speak but I also now realize the next time I go to another country at least data will be necessary for navigation.
I also learned that I am not as great with directions as I had originally believed. Typically on family vacations I am the navigator and I have a very good idea of my whereabouts, however, this was not the case here in Australia. I spent most of my time turned around, and dependent on Kayla’s maps. When I finally got it down, it was basically time to leave.
I also realized that I am moderately high maintenance.  Prior to this trip, I felt that I was relatively low maintenance but this trip has changed my perspective to moderate. I hate bugs, I hate night spotting, I hate when bugs are in my space, I hate seeing the biggest spiders I have in my life, I am not a camper, I hate dunnies and I really enjoy having comfortable accommodations where I do not share them with bugs. I also realized that I am more picky than I thought. For the meals that were provided, for the most part, I ate them, but others I said “not a chance in hell."
This trip slo has reaffirmed that I love American food. As I have mentioned in previous posts, everything in Australia is different. From bacon, to ham, to “burgers”, to their spices and sauces, even their bagels. It was always interesting ordering something at a restaurant and being completely confused on what it was. For example, one of the weirdest things we realized is that in Australia they called everything a burger versus a sandwich. In the states, a burger implies a beef patty, here a burger doesn’t mean patty unless it specifies there’s a patty. Also, there food is all pretty bland, and they rely heavily on sauces, like aioli. I love aioli so this was okay with me. Long story short, I miss American food, I miss ordering and knowing exactly what I am going to get, and I am excited to not have to constantly google what the food is.
Throughout this trip, I realized I have an extreme gelato obsession (problem). I love gelato and we ate it far too much on this trip. I have no regrets, but jesus I will miss gelato .
This trip has also been extremely eye opening to the fact that in America we really are ignorant to other countries and what is happening in their worlds. In Australia, on their news they have a specific segment dedicated to around the world, the biggest highlight being America. In America, we are so sheltered and unconcerned with the rest of the world and I think that this says a lot about us.
I have learned so much about Australia that I could probably talk for days about their national identity, injustices, Aborigines, their colonization, convict culture, and their so called multiculturalism. Throughout one of my classes we examined if Australia is actually multicultural or not and I am confident to say that I do not believe they are to the extent that they preach that they are. We experienced a lot of racism, discriminatory, and ignorant behaviors and comments while in Australia as well as many cultures are incredibly underrepresented in society.
Prior to these classes, I had no idea that Australia was colonized by convicts, I had no idea about the Aboriginal people, stolen generations, hygienic dorms, or any of the injustices they faced, nor did I really have any knowledge about cinametography, or anything about Australia really. This trip has made me much more knowledge about Australia and has showed me how much more there is to learn about the world and every other country in it.
This trip has also made me more confident in traveling by myself. This was the first time I have ever flown without my parents and I did very well. I was initially very anxious about it but at this point we have flown so much it is a breeze. However, that doesn’t mean that I am consistently going to want to do.
This trip has also introduced me to some amazing people. The girl gang: Nia, Kayla, and Morgan have been the girls since day one and we just have gotten significantly closer. We all got along very well, and we balance each other out well too. Cody was also a part of our group, it was always Cody and the girls and I also enjoyed his company. Coming on this trip I was worried because I really didn’t know anyone besides Cici, but surely enough I made some friendships for a lifetime. We are already planning our first reunion once school starts. I met many other people and made many other friends that I am so happy have come in to my life. It will be awesome to see more familiar faces on each campus.
Now, I have talked about all the good, and clearly it out weighs the bad, but it wouldn’t be fair for me to not even talk about the lows. One thing that really bothered me was that to pretty much every event we were late. For someone who is extremely time oriented, this frustrated me. I also felt like a lot of our accommodations could have been nicer in the middle of our trip (not Sydney or Melbourne). I do not do well with bugs in my bed, or in my shower, or pretty much in my space at all. When I am in nature, I am in their space, but when they are in mine, it is a no go. Also, there was not enough time scheduled in between our activities. A lot of the time we had an hour to eat, go to the other side of the city and find our destination. We also were left constantly to fend for ourselves and find things on our own with no help and most people with no cellular or data. We also had way too much work. I believed, along with everyone else, that the reason we had bootcamp was so that the work would be minimal when we were actually abroad. Nope, that wasn’t the case, and to top it all off we have some brutal final projects to complete once we get back. I do have to keep telling myself that it is 6 honors credits but still, it is freakin’ annoying. I wish we had spent at least one more day in Cairns because I loved that city and there was so much to do and see. Lastly, we went to way too many museums. Some were very enjoyable and informative, but all the art museums weren’t necessary, and a lot ended up repeating the same stuff eventually. B esides, these things, I really have nothing to complain about, My biggest frustration was with all of the school work but I am STUDYING abroad so I guess you just have to deal with it.
Everything that was a low, wasn’t truly a low because it was all part of the experience. This trip has pushed my personal limits, it has exposed me to many things I would never do in my normal life, and it has given me a new found appreciation for basic things like plumbing, wifi, air conditioning, and clean beds and accommodations. As you can see, nothing outweighs the highs of this trip. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Sidenote:
This flight is miserable, we still have 9 hours left and then I have to catch my connecting flight to San Diego. Then my second vacation starts. I am already exhausted, and I am going to be jet lagged so this will be interesting. I am so excited to be reunited with my family, my boyfriend, Zoey, and just normal life again.
Surprisingly, the food was actually pretty good on the way home, much better than on the way here. I am struggling with trying to time my sleep. It is currently 2:15 pm on the 25th and we still have 9 hours of the plane ride left. I will probably attempt to take some medicine soon that will help me pass out so I can try to get a good 5 or 6 hours of rest. The hard part will be staying up for the entire day. Not to mention, trying to wrap my mind around the fact that I will be reliving the 25th again!
I arrived in Lax at 6:30am after a very long flight. A miserable flight. We went through customs very quickly and it was very similar to Sydney and Melbourne which was cool to see. Baggage claim took forever, granted there were over 800 passengers told distribute luggage to but my patience was wearing thing.
The icing on the cake was when I found out my 10:00 am flight had been delayed until 1:15 pm. I was livid. I physically could not sit int eh airport for that long, nor was it worth it to take a 50 minute flight like that. We ended up getting completely refunded for my flight, canceled it, and then I got an Uber to San Diego.
My driver was very nice and I was in SD before 10:00 am. It was so good to see my parents and the Murphy's and the Mattingly’s! We headed to breakfast and just caught up on everything. I missed them so much!
now it is time for the second vacation to start, the real struggle will be staying awake. Jet lag is about to be REAL. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I don’t think there are words to describe how much I have learned and how life changing this experience abroad has been. I think traveling abroad is dangerous because now all I can think of is “Where to next?”
I am so lucky to have been given this opportunity. I want to thank everybody who pushed me to go abroad, and helped me make it possible. Specifically my parents, who worked so hard and sacrificed so much to be able to help me make my dream a reality. I would like to thank Devin, my friends and family (that includes you Mattingly's and Murphy’s) that either supported me or donated to my funds for this trip, and lastly Barrett Staff, specifically Susan and Miranda who pushed me to go on this adventure. This trip literally wouldn’t have been possible without all of you and I am forever grateful.
Thank you for the memories Australia! Cheers!

We Need Diverse Books: Black History Month Edition                                          *Books by black authors and/or have black protagonists
How It Went Down - Kekla Magoon //  When sixteen-year-old Tariq Johnson dies from two gunshot wounds, his community is thrown into an uproar. Tariq was black. The shooter, Jack Franklin, is white. In the aftermath of Tariq's death, everyone has something to say, but no two accounts of the events line up. Day by day, new twists further obscure the truth. Tariq's friends, family, and community struggle to make sense of the tragedy, and to cope with the hole left behind when a life is cut short.
X - Ilyasah Shabazz & Kekla Magoon //  Cowritten by Malcolm X’s daughter, this riveting and revealing novel follows the formative years of the man whose words and actions shook the world. X follows Malcolm from his childhood to his imprisonment for theft at age twenty, when he found the faith that would lead him to forge a new path and command a voice that still resonates today.
The Hate U Give - Angie Thomas // Sixteen-year-old Starr lives in two worlds: the poor neighbourhood where she was born and raised and her posh high school in the suburbs. The uneasy balance between them is shattered when Starr is the only witness to the fatal shooting of her unarmed best friend, Khalil, by a police officer. Now what Starr says could destroy her community. It could also get her killed.
The Women of Brewster Place - Gloria Naylor //  We follow the stories of seven women living in Brewster Place, a bleak inner-city sanctuary, creating a powerful, moving portrait of the strengths, struggles, and hopes of black women in America. Vulnerable and resilient, openhanded and open-hearted, these women forge their lives in a place that in turn threatens and protects—a common prison and a shared home.
Piecing Me Together - Renée Watson //  Jade believes she must get out of her neighborhood if she’s ever going to succeed. Her mother says she has to take every opportunity. She has. She accepted a scholarship to a mostly-white private school and even Saturday morning test prep opportunities. But some opportunities feel more demeaning than helpful. Like an invitation to join Women to Women, a mentorship program for “at-risk” girls. Except really, it’s for black girls. From “bad” neighborhoods.
Shadowshaper - Daniel José Older //  Sierra Santiago was looking forward to a fun summer of making art, hanging out with her friends, and skating around Brooklyn. But then a weird zombie guy crashes the first party of the season. Sierra's near-comatose abuelo begins to say "No importa" over and over. And when the graffiti murals in Bed-Stuy start to weep.... Well, something stranger than the usual New York mayhem is going on.
The Rock and The River - Kekla Magoon //  Set in 1968 Chicago, Thirteen -year-old Sam realizes it's not easy being the son of known civil rights activist Roland Childs. Especially when his older (and best friend), Stick, begins to drift away from him for no apparent reason. And then it happens: Sam finds something that changes everything forever. Sam has always had faith in his father, but when he finds literature about the Black Panthers under Stick's bed, he's not sure who to believe: his father or his best friend. Suddenly, nothing feels certain anymore.
Monster - Walter Dean Myers //    Sixteen-year-old Steve Harmon is on trial for murder. A Harlem drugstore owner was shot and killed in his store, and the word is that Steve served as the lookout. Guilty or innocent, Steve becomes a pawn in the hands of "the system," cluttered with cynical authority figures and unscrupulous inmates, who will turn in anyone to shorten their own sentences. For the first time, Steve is forced to think about who he is as he faces prison, where he may spend all the tomorrows of his life.
This Side of Home - Renée Watson //  Identical twins Nikki and Maya have been on the same page for everything—friends, school, boys and starting off their adult lives at a historically African-American college. But as their neighborhood goes from rough-and-tumble to up-and-coming, suddenly filled with pretty coffee shops and boutiques, Nikki is thrilled while Maya feels like their home is slipping away. Suddenly, the sisters who had always shared everything must confront their dissenting feelings on the importance of their ethnic and cultural identities and, in the process, learn to separate themselves from the long shadow of their identity as twins.
Brown Girl Dreaming - Jacqueline Woodson //  Raised in South Carolina and New York, Woodson always felt halfway home in each place. In vivid poems, she shares what it was like to grow up as an African American in the 1960s and 1970s, living with the remnants of Jim Crow and her growing awareness of the Civil Rights movement. Touching and powerful, each poem is both accessible and emotionally charged, each line a glimpse into a child’s soul as she searches for her place in the world.
Promise of Shadows - Justine Ireland //  Zephyr Mourning has never been very good at being a Harpy. She’d rather watch reality TV than learn forty-seven ways to kill a man, and she pretty much sucks at wielding magic. Zephyr was ready for a future pretending to be a normal human instead of a half-god assassin. But all that changes when her sister is murdered—and she uses a forbidden dark power to save herself from the same fate.
Fake ID - Lamara Giles //   My name isn’t really Nick Pearson. I shouldn’t tell you where I’m from or why my family moved to Stepton, Virginia. I shouldn’t tell you who I really am, or my hair, eye, and skin color. And I definitely shouldn’t tell you about my friend Eli Cruz and the major conspiracy he was about to uncover when he died—right after I moved to town. About how I had to choose between solving his murder with his hot sister, Reya, and “staying low-key” like the Program has taught me. About how moving to Stepon changed my life forever. But I’m going to
Endangered - Lamar Giles //  The one secret she cares about keeping—her identity—is about to be exposed. Unless Lauren "Panda" Daniels—an anonymous photoblogger who specializes in busting classmates and teachers in compromising positions—plays along with her blackmailer's little game of Dare or . . . Dare. But when the game turns deadly, Panda doesn't know what to do. And she may need to step out of the shadows to save herself . . . and everyone else on the Admirer's hit list.
Don’t Fail Me Now - Una LaMarche //  Michelle and Leah only have one thing in common: Buck Devereaux, the biological father who abandoned them when they were little. After news trickles back to them that Buck is dying, they make the uneasy decision to drive across country to his hospice in California. Leah hopes for closure; Michelle just wants to give him a piece of her mind. Five people in a failing, old station wagon, living off free samples at food courts across America, and the most pressing question on Michelle’s mind is: Who will break down first--herself or the car?
Flygirl - Sherri L Smith //  Ida Mae Jones dreams of flight. Her daddy was a pilot and being black didn't stop him from fulfilling his dreams. But her daddy's gone now, and being a woman, and being black, are two strikes against her. When America enters the war with Germany and Japan, the Army creates the WASP, the Women Airforce Service Pilots - and Ida suddenly sees a way to fly as well as do something significant to help her brother stationed in the Pacific. But even the WASP won't accept her as a black woman, forcing Ida Mae to make a difficult choice of "passing," of pretending to be white to be accepted into the program. Hiding one's racial heritage, denying one's family, denying one's self is a heavy burden. And while Ida Mae chases her dream, she must also decide who it is she really wants to be.
Mare’s War - Tanita S Davis //  Meet Mare, a World War II veteran and a grandmother like no other. She was once a willful teenager who escaped her less than perfect life in the deep South and lied about her age to join the African American Battalion of the Women's Army Corps. Now she is driving her granddaughters—two willful teenagers in their own rite—on a cross-country road trip. The girls are initially skeptical of Mare's flippy wigs and stilletos, but they soon find themselves entranced by the story she has to tell, and readers will be too.
Not Otherwise Specified - Hannah Mockowitz //  Etta is tired of dealing with all of the labels and categories that seem so important to everyone else in her small Nebraska hometown. Everywhere she turns, someone feels she's too fringe for the fringe. Not gay enough for the Dykes, her ex-clique, thanks to a recent relationship with a boy; not tiny and white enough for ballet, her first passion; and not sick enough to look anorexic (partially thanks to recovery). Etta doesn’t fit anywhere— until she meets Bianca, the straight, white, Christian, and seriously sick girl in Etta’s therapy group. Both girls are auditioning for Brentwood, a prestigious New York theater academy that is so not Nebraska. Bianca seems like Etta’s salvation, but how can Etta be saved by a girl who needs saving herself?
Parable of the Sower - Octavia Butler //  When unattended environmental and economic crises lead to social chaos, not even gated communities are safe. In a night of fire and death Lauren Olamina, a minister's young daughter, loses her family and home and ventures out into the unprotected American landscape. But what begins as a flight for survival soon leads to something much more: a startling vision of human destiny... and the birth of a new faith.
The Sun is Also a Star-Nicola Yoon //  Follow Natasha, a girl who believes in science and facts, as she meets Daniel, a dutiful son and dreamer, as they spend a single day together in New York - and try to stop Natasha’s family from being deported to Jamacia.
Everything, Everything - Nicola Yoon //  My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla. But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. His name is Olly. Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster
Pointe - Brandy Colbert //  Theo is better now. She's eating again, dating guys who are almost appropriate, and well on her way to becoming an elite ballet dancer. But when her oldest friend, Donovan, returns home after spending four long years with his kidnapper, Theo starts reliving memories about his abduction—and his abductor. Donovan isn't talking about what happened, and even though Theo knows she didn't do anything wrong, telling the truth would put everything she's been living for at risk. But keeping quiet might be worse.
The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl - Issa Rae //  Being an introvert in a world that glorifies cool isn’t easy. But  Rae covers everything from cybersexing in the early days of the Internet to deflecting unsolicited comments on weight gain, from navigating the perils of eating out alone and public displays of affection to learning to accept yourself—natural hair and all.
Tiny Pretty Things - Dhonielle Clayton & Sona Charaipotra //  Gigi, Bette, and June, three top students at an exclusive Manhattan ballet school, have seen their fair share of drama. Free-spirited new girl Gigi just wants to dance—but the very act might kill her. Privileged New Yorker Bette's desire to escape the shadow of her ballet star sister brings out a dangerous edge in her. And perfectionist June needs to land a lead role this year or her controlling mother will put an end to her dancing dreams forever. When every dancer is both friend and foe, the girls will sacrifice, manipulate, and backstab to be the best of the best.
Liar-Justine Larbalestier //  Micah will freely admit that she’s a compulsive liar, but that may be the one honest thing she’ll ever tell you. Over the years she’s duped her classmates, her teachers, and even her parents, and she’s always managed to stay one step ahead of her lies. That is, until her boyfriend dies under brutal circumstances and her dishonesty begins to catch up with her. But is it possible to tell the truth when lying comes as naturally as breathing?
Hidden Figures - Margot Lee Shatterly //  Before John Glenn orbited the earth or Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, a group of dedicated female mathematicians known as “human computers” used pencils, slide rules, and adding machines to calculate the numbers that would launch rockets, and astronauts, into space. This book brings to life the stories of Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, Katherine Johnson, and Christine Darden, four African-American women who lived through the Civil Rights era, the Space Race, the Cold War, and the movement for gender equality, and whose work forever changed the face of NASA and the country.
The Color Purple - Alice Walker //  Taking place mostly in rural Georgia, the story focuses on the life of women of color in the southern United States in the 1930s, addressing numerous issues including their exceedingly low position in American social culture. The novel has been the frequent target of censors and appears on the American Library Association list of the 100 Most Frequently Challenged Books of 2000-2009 at number seventeen because of the sometimes explicit content, particularly in terms of violence.
Sister Citizen- Melissa Harris Perry //  Not a traditional political science work concerned with office-seeking, voting, or ideology, Sister Citizen instead explores how African American women understand themselves as citizens and what they expect from political organizing. Harris-Perry shows that the shared struggle to preserve an authentic self and secure recognition as a citizen links together black women in America, from the anonymous survivors of Hurricane Katrina to the former First Lady of the United States.
The Blossoming Universe of Violet Diamond - Brenda Woods //  Violet is a smart, funny, brown-eyed, brown-haired girl in a family of blonds. Her mom is white, and her dad, who died before she was born, was black. She attends a mostly white school where she sometimes feels like a brown leaf on a pile of snow. She’s tired of people asking if she’s adopted. Now that Violet’s eleven, she decides it’s time to learn about her African American heritage. And despite getting off to a rocky start trying to reclaim her dad’s side of the family, she can feel her confidence growing as the puzzle pieces of her life finally start coming together.
The Summer of Chasing Mermaids - Sarah Ockler //  The youngest of six talented sisters, Elyse d'Abreau was destined for stardom - until a boating accident took everything from her. Now, the most beautiful singer in Tobago can't sing. She can't even speak. Seeking quiet solitude, Elyse accepts a friend's invitation to Atargatis Cove. Named for the mythical first mermaid, the Oregon seaside town is everything Elyse's home in the Caribbean isn't: an ocean too cold for swimming, parties too tame for singing, and people too polite to pry - except for one.
Black Boy White School - Brian F Walker  //  Anthony “Ant” Jones has never been outside his rough East Cleveland neighborhood when he’s given a scholarship to Belton Academy, an elite prep school in Maine. But at Belton things are far from perfect. Everyone calls him “Tony,” assumes he’s from Brooklyn, expects him to play basketball, and yet acts shocked when he fights back. As Anthony tries to adapt to a world that will never fully accept him, he’s in for a rude awakening: Home is becoming a place where he no longer belongs.

Your Best Tips for a Better Uber or Lyft Trip
Who, in a million years, ever thought that the ridesharing idea would fly? You’re going to pay total strangers to drive you around in their own cars? Really now?
Well, yes. Services like Lyft and Uber may have decimated the taxi industry and clogged big-city streets with cars. But they also allow millions of drivers to work on their own schedules, permit millions of riders to save money, keep a lot of drunken drivers from taking the wheel, free up a lot of parking spaces, and give just about everyone an endless source of conversation starters.
Still, there are challenges for both riders and drivers: Finding each other, communicating with each other, coexisting with each other. That’s why, in the previous episode of “Crowdwise,” I invited you to share your tips for improving the ridesharing experience. Here’s what you came up with.
Better ways to summon your ride
Most people begin by opening the corresponding app (Lyft or Uber, for example). But Phoebe Mortensen noted that you can save time and money by starting in other apps.
Google Maps: On the Directions tab, where you see options like driving, public transport and walking, tap the ride-sharing icon: the microscopic man holding up his infinitesimal arm. “At that point, Google Maps shows you price and waiting-time comparisons of Lyft and Uber — information you can’t get in their own apps,” wrote Ms. Mortensen. Once you’ve chosen the service you want, hit Open App to complete the transaction.
Apple Siri/Google Assistant: On your phone, you can say, for example, “Hey Siri, get me a ride to 200 West 79th Street with Lyft” or “Hey Google, book an Uber to JFK Airport.” You’re asked to specify the details. Speaking your destination is always less finicky than typing it on glass.
Amazon Alexa/Google Home: If you have an Amazon Echo smart speaker, you can say “Alexa, ask Lyft to call a ride” or “Alexa, ask Uber to request a ride.” If your robo-assistant speaks Google instead, say “O.K. Google” instead of “Alexa.”
Pickups
Summoning a ride is easy. Finding your driver can be substantially trickier.
You get a license-plate number and car description; the driver gets a tiny photo of your head. If the neighborhood is busy, dark, or nondescript, that may not be enough.
If you’re smart, you’ll seek a safer spot. “Your pickup address does not have to be exactly where you’re standing,” driver Jeffrey Castro wrote. “Choose addresses where the driver can pull over and not block traffic. From a safety perspective, everyone benefits, and your neighbors will appreciate less honking.”
According to driver Tom Deehan (15,500 Lyft rides and counting), the walk-a-short-distance trick can also save you time and money. “At bar closing time, or after concerts and sporting events, everyone orders their Lyfts and Ubers from the same location, causing traffic jams. Walk a block or two away, and then request your ride. You’ll get picked up much faster and you’ll likely save money on surge pricing.”
Finally, often, the app plants your “pin” at the wrong location on the map in the driver’s map. Far better to enter your address manually — or, as Ray Roig noted, to use the name of a building or place of business. “Both Uber and Lyft are built on Google Maps, and the app will recognize the name.”
Safety
In my call for submissions, I requested tips for making ridesharing “smarter, more efficient, or more economical.” One reader noted sardonically that I must be a man, because I didn’t mention “safer.”
She’s right. Getting into a male stranger’s car alone can be frightening if you’re female, especially in the wake of Samantha Josephson’s death at the hands of a man she thought was her driver.
When your ride arrives, “ask the driver for the name of the passenger they are picking up. If it’s not your name, or she or he can’t say, do not get in,” wrote Mikki Ashe and, similarly, Carol Mitchell.
Salomé Mirigay shares every ride’s details with someone she trusts, using the “Share location” or “Share status” button that appears in the app after a driver has accepted your request. The recipient can then monitor her progress on a live, moving map. “It’s comforting that someone has your itinerary and driver’s information in case of emergency,” she noted.
Once you’re in the car, Gillian Horn advises, “sit directly behind the driver. That way, it’s harder for the driver to physically reach you.”
“That being said,” added Julia Butler, “I’ve learned that drivers can get just as nervous about picking up passengers as we may get about drivers. One said to me, ‘We drivers have to pass background checks — but I have no idea who is getting into my car.’ So, caution and empathy!”
Last safety tip: When you reach your destination, open the door on the curb side. “It’s amazing how many people get out of the car into traffic,” Teri Green observed.
Ratings
After each ride, the app asks you to rate your driver (1 to 5 stars). What you may not realize is that your driver also rates you. (To see your average Uber rating, open its main menu. To find out your Lyft rating, ask your driver, or contact the company.)
If there were a Rude Passenger Hall of Fame, no driver would have trouble coming up with nominees: riders who eat stinky or sloppy food in the car, leave the seats covered with crumbs, vape or smoke pot during the ride, slam the doors, make advances on their female passengers, and so on. Those are good ways to get low, low ratings from your drivers.
And what difference does your rating make? “If you rate a driver 3 stars or below, Lyft will not match you with that driver again. But drivers have the same option: if we rate a passenger 3 stars or below, we won’t have to deal with them again,” Jean MacDonald revealed.
Furthermore, a driver isn’t allowed to refuse your pickup request based on your destination. But Ray Roig reported that they are allowed to turn you down if you have a low rating.
Bottom line: Be a jerk, and you’ll have more trouble getting rides.
Courtesy and Tips
“Crowdwise” readers’ most copious category of tips involved courtesy.
“The very first thing I say is, ‘Thank you for picking me up today!’” wrote Glenn Roesler. “It relaxes the driver and often makes them forget, at least momentarily, their last unpleasant rider — and a relaxed driver is always a good thing.”
Then there’s the awkward conversation question. How do you say that you’re not in the mood to chat without seeming antisocial?
“A nice way to phrase it is, ‘I’m so exhausted. Is it all right if we just listen to music instead of chatting?’” proposed Maria Travaille. “Works every time. Honestly, the driver probably doesn’t really want to talk to you, either.”
Or carry a book, wrote Okuta Onfire. “It’s more polite than gazing at your smartphone.”
Many, many drivers wrote to say how rarely riders tip them. “Drivers make a lot less than you think,” pointed out driver Jean MacDonald. “Even a small tip is a nice pat on the back.” She points out that Uber and Lyft keep a substantial chunk of the fare you pay — 20 or 25 percent, plus various fees that can eat up another 25 percent — but the driver gets all of your tip.
By the way: If you tip in the app, the driver doesn’t find out until after having rated you. That’s one reason Matt Morgan always tips in cash. “The driver gets instant gratification, you make their day better, and you’re bound to get a 5-star passenger rating!”
Unless the driver’s behavior was egregious or dangerous, John Bordeaux always gives 5 stars and a tip, “Whatever kind of day I may be having, I’m in the back seat, and they’re fighting traffic.”
Undiscovered Features
Most of the time, you probably use Uber or Lyft for immediate pickup from the spot where you’re standing. But that’s not the end of these apps’ flexibility.
Physical help: Marjorie NYC discovered Uber Assist, which summons a driver who’s trained and ready to help with big packages, extra luggage, or equipment like wheelchairs, walkers and scooters. It’s available in 40 cities and costs nothing extra. “This feature saved me after surgery and when going to airport with too much luggage,” she wrote. (To find it, slide through the car types at the bottom of the screen to the Assist button.)
Order rides for other people (paid by you): Enter your friend’s location as the pickup address, and contact the driver to let him know that you’re not the passenger. That’s handy, wrote Madeline Carter Gooding, for “friends late at night in sticky situations, or family coming in from the airport.”
Make multiple stops: In the app, the + button next to the address box lets you add a second destination, a third, and so on.
Schedule a ride: You can order a pickup in advance, thereby setting it and forgetting it. In the Uber app, the Scheduled Rides button is next to the “Where to?” box. In the Lyft app, after entering your destination, tap Schedule below the list of car types.
Event rides: If you’re hosting a gathering (wedding or corporate event, say), you can prepay your guests’ rides home. You get a code, which you supply to them; it’s valid only during the time slots, within the geographical boundaries, and up to dollar limits you establish. The company refunds to you any amount that wasn’t used up. Here are the details for Lyft and Uber.
As it turns out, then, the ingredients for getting more out of ridesharing are common sense, caution, and courtesy. And what do you know? Those are the same principles that should guide us through every social interaction, inside cars or out.
For the next “Crowdwise:” Money is not just the root of all evil; it’s also one of the most common sources of family friction. Have you discovered any strategies for keeping the monetary peace among couples and families, or teaching healthy money habits to children? Share your tips, policies, and teachings at [email protected] by June 7.

Can I get car insurance for just 3 months?
"Can I get car insurance for just 3 months?
I am looking into getting my car insured for 3 months as I have been getting some insurance quotes and the cheapest I have been able to find is 1650 but if I wait for 3 months then I will be 19 years old and will have had my licence for 1 year the price goes down to around the 1000 mark so I was wondering if their are any companies that would let me insure my car for 3 months. What I was thinking of doing was getting insurance for 3 months but have my dad as the main driver and me as a named driver then the price won't be as high. Once the 3 months are up I will cancel the policy or if I got a 3 month policy it will run out then I can start my own policy which then I can earn my own no claims being the main driver. If anyone knows of any companies who do this or anyone I can try I would like to hear from you. I live in the UK .

Term Life Insurance Ownership?
My wife and I are in our 40's and 50's. We have created A/B trusts and transferred our assets to them, and expect to have estates that will benefit from the estate tax saving these trusts afford. We recently both purchased $1M 10-year renewable term life insurance policies that we expect to keep for 10 years. We chose not to use life insurance trusts because the purpose of the policies is to replace the lost income of the deceased spouse if one of us dies relatively soon, not to increase our final estate, and the trusts are somewhat costly. We each specified our own trusts as the beneficiaries, because we want the disposition of assets specified there to be used for this money. The trusts provide for the income, and principle if needed, to be paid to the spouse, and for the remainder to be paid to our child at the remaining spouses death. The question of ownership of the policies is less clear. My lawyer says that it doesn't make much difference who owns them, because the value (estate) taxed is only one year's premium, not the $1M. My accountant says that the $1M is taxed, and that each policy should be owned by the other spouse to avoid tax on that amount. A friend said that there's no way to avoid or significantly decrease the tax, so just leave the ownership as is (each spouse owns their own policy). A further fly in the ointment is that the insurance company (Massachusetts SBLI) makes some forms of trust ownership more difficult and costly. I'm confused. What ownership is the best? What is the benefit of that choice? Thanks for your time.""

Is my insurance company liable?
My insurance company offered me a policy to cover a de restricted scooter which I agreed to take out, but in order for this policy to take effect I had to give up 4 months of cover totalling around 160 and pay a 80 deposit on the new policy. Last week I was sent a letter notifying me that my insurance was cancelled so I called them and was told that I had to return a copy of my CBT certificate. I rang on Sunday and was told a completely different story and that was that the company they placed me with had decided that they were not going to cover me even though the whole point of changing them was because they specificity dealt with my type of vehicle . They have now offered another policy for 515 pounds with is 100 pounds more than my previous and I am not willing to pay this as they lied to me and told me that I was insured to ride around even though they knew that I was not covered. I have copies of the insurance certificate to prove that they sold me the policy and all other relating documents. Please advise on what I can do.""

Can I get my car back from the impound using anothers insurance?
Recently my car was impounded due to no insurance - stupid I know - and now I can't retrieve it without insurance. The problem is the only way I can get insurance now is if I pay for a full year, can't afford that much so I have very few options now available, if any. What I want to know is can I insure myself using someone else's insurance and retrieve the car that way? Will the police and impound accept this type of insurance? And will I even be insured due to what happened? Because of what happened I now have 6 points so I realise it will be difficult to get insured. Thanks and hope someone can help. By the way this happened in the UK.""
Reducing Car insurance?!?
Hi, I am just curious because I know someone who does this but situation is a little different. His parents are split up so he has a car at his mother's house (where he would HAVE to be registered as primary driver) but he lives at his father's house so he only pays occasional driver's insurance even though the car is always with him. (both the father and mother have licenses however are not insured under the car in question) I am just asking if it were possible for me to do that with my grandmother for example. If I get a car registered under her name, but since I don't live with her can I pay as an occasional driver? She does not have a license. If it helps I live in Ontario, Canada. Thank you""

Kit car insurance at 17?
Watching an old top gear episode where they showed an mr2 (love em) converted into a ferrari, something like a 430, they said that his premium decreased. I called up an insurance company today, im 17, looking to buy a toyota starlet and transfer all the panels from a glanza v onto the starlet but nothing from the engine bay, so it would be classified as a kit car? but no where near as high risk as not having better performance parts or the turbo added. The end result was me spending ages on the phone and them saying they wouldnt insure me, even though it is a kit car and no performance parts, please please please... can someone with better knowledge clarify why they would decline me when it should make it cheaper!! I want to run a one vehicle WAV (wheel chair accessible vehicle for disabled people) car hire/rental business serving Hertfordshire the customer would hire the car and arrange for a person to drive it for them. On the odd occasion the hirer does not have anybody to drive the car for them they might want me to drive for them I have been told to do this I would need a private vehicle hire licence (mini cab drivers licence) also hire and reward insurance along with a mini cab office operators licence and the vehicle would need to be plated (tested) This is not a problem except for the hire and reward insurance which would be about 3000 per year and would not be cost effective for the amount of driving I would be doing (I would probably only be driving a customer 1 day per week). Car Insurance Question?
Hey all. Recently, a car ran into my legally parked car early in the morning. When I found my car hit, strangely, the other car was still there with their lights on and keys in the ignition. It appeared whomever was driving fled. Fortunately, when the police was called, one of the officers found insurance information for the car that hit mine. We took the make, model, year, and licence plate numbers down on the report. The officers left, however I'm not sure if they are going to attempt to search out the registered owner or not. Guess I could call to see if they are or not. Anyway, I then had the other car towed away and mine towed to a nearby auto body shop. They gave me a preliminary estimate for repairs. I then used the car insurance that was found in the other car, called and filed a claim. The same day the insurance I called had an insurance adjuster/appraiser come look at my car. They considered the damages to notably exceed the first estimate, and considered it 'totaled'. Now, the other car's insurance is attempting to contact the registered owner. They mentioned that if there is difficulty in reaching the owner, the insurance to blame may deny making a reimbursement/compensation payment for my damages. Should I contact the police to see if they've investigated the person? I then later called my own insurance and notified them of what happened in its entirety. Now...if my claim is denied by the at fault person and their insurance, is their any consolation for me? Shall I hire a lawyer and sue in small claims or civil court (for damages/rental car/lawyer fees) since the damages estimated are borderline ~$5,000 +/- 1,000? Could this be a successful alternative if their insurance refuses to help me out? Or should I bite the bullet and go through my own insurance...risking an increased premium for something that was not my fault? Thank you for any advice.""

Am I being cheated by the car insurance company?
I was on a bike and I accidentally hit someone's car and broke the back windshield. Nothing else on the car is damaged except windshield. The subrogation service has been pressuring me to pay the amount. I will pay for the damage but I don't believe I have to pay this much. Could this be the owner of the car falsify the claim? ""How does car insurance in Ontario, Canada work if deductibles are involved?""
Maybe I'm missing something here, but the way it's been explained to me is this: I've got a $500 deductible on my policy. If someone backs into my parked car, this will be deducted from the payout I get for repairs. OK, let's say the damages amount to $900. That would mean that because of MY $500 deductible, the payout to me would be $400. I'd have to pay the other $500 out of pocket to repair my car. The insurance company would then reclaim that $400 from the other guy's insurance company. Now, if the other guy also has a $500 deductible (very likely), then he'd have to pay $400 out of pocket. That seems wacked to me. Someone damages my car, and he has to pay LESS than I do for the damages. Am I missing something?""

Unemployment Insurance Florida Notice of Determination . Denied?
I got a Notice of Determination in the mail from Florida Unemployment Compensation. Section 2 states: Benefits are payable because: The discharge was for reason other than misconduct. Section 3 states: The employer is not chargeable since the employment was in the base period. The last job I had I only had for 3 weeks. The job I had before that, I had for three years. Before the Notice of Determination I received Wage Transcript and Determination It says I am eligible and states my weekly benefit amount and when my benefit year begins and ends. My next to last employer is in the base period. I have already received on check for one week. and I am scheduled to claim my weeks for this coming Monday. I went to the Florida Unemployment website and went to the link and put in my info for info about my claim and it says nothing about me being denied. If my last employer is not chargeable and not in my base period, does that mean my next to last previous employer is chargeable, since they are in my base period? I have received no explicit letter saying i am denied. My bottom line question is: does the Notice of Determination by saying that my last employer is not chargeable mean that my unemployment claim is denied?""

What are the ins and outs of buying/owning a classic car?
I have been considering purchasing an older car for about a year. I've done a little research during that time and narrowed down what I want. Last week, I found a car that I really like, a '62 Lincoln. However, I have some concerns about having a car like this and wanting to get some feedback from someone with the knowledge/experience/wisdom in this area. Firstly, I am not rich and getting this car would mean borrowing money. My intent was to sell my current car once I have this car to cover most of the cost of the classic. Would that be a mistake? My current car is paid off, so money-wise it would be a question of insurance costs and taxes/tags every year (if I were to keep my current car). Second, the car I'm looking at is pretty authentic, meaning it has almost all its original parts and accessories. Would it be a mistake to modify it? I mean, repainting it (down the road), having the upholstery redone, installing a current radio and speakers, putting on modern-style tires, etc. Will this change its value negatively? I do like the car as it is, but I'd really like to put modern-style tires on it and put in a modern stereo, at least. Repainting and such would be probably 5+ years down the road, if I decided to do this. Probably, I'd want to reupholster the seats before painting it. And, since I am not rich nor a moneyed individual, I don't have a storage place to park it at my place. I mean, I have a garage, but my house is old, the garage is narrow, and I use it as my workshop. If I were to park the car in it, that would be I'd have to pack up my workshop and remove the shelves to make it fit. Do I need to keep it in a garage? Would that be smart? Does it matter since it's intended to be my primary vehicle? I can't think of anything else to ask at the moment, so if you have any other advice or insights, I'd certainly appreciate them!""

I woul like to switch to another company that's going be cheaper, but I was wondering can I just not pay my old car insurance and start laying my new car insurance company, or do I need to finish with all the months that they gave me the insurance card for (it was for 6 months, 3 months left).""
Why did my car insurance go up instead of down after i turned 25?
In November I turned 25 years old. I've always been told the two good things about turning 25 is that I can rent a car for cheaper and I will have cheaper auto insurance. I was excited about this. But when I turned 25, my insurance went up. When I turned 18, my insurance was $80 a mo. I have had insurance since then, I have nothing on my record (never had a speeding ticket, nothing). I've always payed bills on time, and since I was 23 I had full coverage. I've had the same car since I was 23 which is a newer model and nothing has changed with my driving info since I was 23. At age 23 and 24 my insurance went up to $130 a month with full coverage, the same car, nothing on my record, etc... But on my 25th birthday, I went in to renew my insurance. Now since I turned 25, my insurance went up to $210 a month. The woman who gave me my quote said she was unsure why my insurance went up instead of down since I had nothing on my record and I am a valuable customer. She was really confused and has never seen auto insurance go up instead of down when someone turns 25 unless they have something on their record. i payed the price but they are investigating it but as of right now, they don't have any answers. Does anyone know why it went up?""
What medical tests should a 53-year-old man have?
I know there's tests that men should have when they're around the age of 50. My dad hasn't been to the doctor for years because he doesn't have health insurance or a job(he's living with my grandma who's 76). He's resisted going to the doctor and says I'll go once I get a job but he's not really been trying. My brothers and I are worried and some have even offered to pay for a doctor's visit but he's just said no and that he can wait. I'd like to know what tests he should have and how much they cost on average. He's been a generally healthy man, but skin cancer runs in our family and when he was around 40 he had a thing growing on his neck that was some sort of cancer. He had it removed and it hasn't come back but it there some sort of test for things like that? All three of my brothers and I are either English or History teachers and if what my dad needs is affordable we'd all like to pitch in. I know this is sort of scatterbrained- I'm in a rush, so thank you if you can answer this in advance.""
Good Driver Insurance Discount?
Okay, so this is the deal. I have a 3.3 G.P.A. Not bad, right? Well, for one of my classes I actually have an F in for ONE of my Spring 2011 classes. Although I can get the discount, my parents keep hounding me for my transcript and I don't want them to see that F or I'm screwed. Can I still get the discount if I send the car insurance company my trancript from the previous semesters and not my most recent one?""

Is this a good insurance cost for a teenager for a GTO?
I got a quote from geico for an '04 GTO and it was 175 a month for a 17 year old driver. This suprised me, because I thought it would be alot higher. So do you think this an accurate quote? I put in all information accurately except for my age because they will not give a 15 year old a quote.""

How much would car insurance be a month for a 20 year old driving a mid nineties car?

Should I tell my insurance company that my car was broken into?
My car was broken into last night, between the hours of 9:30pm, and 7am, just parked in front of the condo we live in. Some things of value were taken, ( estimated around $130, or $150 in value...no damage was done to the car, they must've just picked the locks) so I filed a police report this morning...is this something I should report to my car insurance provider? If so, how would filing a report with insurance help me? I'm 19, and have been driving for a little over two years now, my insurance is through AAA. I have had no previous driving offenses on my record, or anything. (This has never happened to me before, so pardon some irrelevent info, here!) before. Do you recommend I file a claim with AAA, or just let the police handle it entirely? When would I need to file a claim by? (like, a deadline, time-wise.)""
Can I get car insurance for just 3 months?
