Tell me everything – Carlisle Cullen (smut)
This is what I'd do as a historian, ask Carlisle all about his past. So I had to push (y/n) into this scenario. Please like and reblog if you enjoyed reading this, your comments keep us writers motivated! Enjoy my loves. xxx
Summary: The reader asks Carlisle to read her paper on Europe in the 1680s, asking him for his insights as somebody who has lived through these times. It's only a matter of time until their talks about history turn into something completely different.
Warnings: 18+, smut, piv, oral (f), quite some fluff
Pairing: Carlisle Cullen x fem!reader (2.7k words)

“Doctor Cullen?” Her voice trembled as she knocked on his door. With her heart in her throat, she held her gaze focused on the door, almost forgetting how to breathe as Carlisle opened it.
“(Y/n), how many times have I told you to call me Carlisle?” His soft chuckles rang in her ears as he stepped aside to let her into his office. She had known Carlisle for a while, had been introduced to him months ago after befriending Alice and being invited to come visit the mansion. It hadn’t taken long for everything to fall into place, for (y/n) to see through the lies and stories, and yet she still wasn’t used to accepting that her closest friends were the way they are.
“I’m sorry for disturbing you, but there is something I need your help with.” She sat down on the leather couch he had pointed at. With an encouraging smile shot her way, Carlisle urged her on to keep speaking.
“If I remember correctly, Alice told me you were born in the seventeenth century.” She was close to letting go of a laugh, it felt all too unreal to even speak this sentence. “And I was asked to prepare a paper on Europe in the 1680s, I was wondering if you could read it and share your experiences with me?”
As a history student, (y/n) felt like she had to seize this very opportunity, trying to ignore the excitement flushing through her system at the mere thought of listening to his stories. This felt like she was time travelling, being offered a one in a million chance, she simply had to take.
“Of course, (y/n), I would love to help you. Did you already write the paper?” She tried to ignore the heat flushing through her, fuelled by the strength of his gaze. (Y/n) wasn’t blind, she was all too aware of his attractiveness, and the undeniable attraction she felt for him. And yet she had always been too shy, too scared to even try and be close to the man who seemed to have an all too pure heart.
“I did, here, I printed it out earlier.” His golden eyes followed her every move as she reached for her bag to pull out her paper. Sparks shot down her spine the second their fingers brushed together, leaving her torn between the coldness of his skin and the heat of his intrigued gaze.
“The others will be out hunting tomorrow, but if you don’t mind being alone with me, I could read it today and you could come back tomorrow for a chat?” She had to look away for a moment. It was just a handful of seconds, seconds he picked up on all too easily. Carlisle's smile began to grow wider, adding more fuel to the fire burning inside of her, threatening to burn her right in front of his piercing eyes.
“That would be great, thank you, Carlisle.”
……
“Carlisle?” Her voice echoed through the mansion as she slowly took off her shoes. She heard him call for her, guiding (y/n) up the stairs and into the kitchen, where he seemed to be cooking.
“Alice told me you haven’t eaten yet, so I thought I could make you something.” Her heart skipped a beat in her chest, something she was sure he easily picked up on. It took her a while to move closer, touched by the sweet gesture. With a soft “thank you” rolling off her tongue, (y/n) took the plate from Carlisle to let the heavenly aromas surround her.
“Where did you learn to cook like that when you don’t even eat that stuff?” Carlisle’s hearty laughter filled the room. Pride simmered inside of her, taking every laugh rumbling through him as a big win. The food tasted better than everything she had ever eaten before, sure that she’d now ask him to cook for her whenever she was around.
“With endless time on my hands, I find myself picking up hobbies. I’ve always enjoyed cooking for others.” (Y/n) let go of another satisfied sigh before picking up her empty plate to carry it to the sink, shooting Carlisle a warning gaze as he tried to stop her from cleaning it. A comfortable silence filled the room, it wrapped itself around them like the soft morning breeze, tying them closer together with shared moments they wouldn’t tell the others about.
“Come, let’s go to my study.” He reached his hand out for her to take. It was a simple gesture, accompanied by a bright smile that made her feel as if she was dreaming. Her hand trembled while finding his, allowing Carlisle to lead her through the mansion she had been in too many times to count, making it feel like her second home.
“I have to say, I’m very impressed by your paper, (y/n).” Her eyes grew wider as she pondered over his words, staring at the man who sat down on the couch next to her. Carlisle had his eyes focused on the pages, thumbing through them again while (y/n) seized the seconds to study the handsome man, the face she’d see in sleepless nights whenever her mind started to wander.
“Can you tell me a bit more? It’s nothing I will add to the paper, I promise. But,” she struggled to put her thoughts into words, pondering over every syllable she feared could make her appear stupid.
“It’s alright, love, speak to me.” His hand found its way back to hers, leaving (y/n) torn between the touch and the way he had called her. A shaky breath left her, forcing her body to calm down before she could let him in on the thoughts buzzing through her mind.
“It’s just - I struggle to understand you have lived through all these things I study. And it feels surreal to have you so close and I want to ask you about every detail, which is probably stupid and invasive.” She didn’t dare meet his gaze, focusing on his cold hand rather than the eyes that always managed to draw her in. His other hand let go of the pages, only to reach for her chin, tilting it back up for (y/n) to get lost in his golden pupils.
“That’s not stupid, (y/n). I’m honoured you want to hear about my past and my experiences. I am happy to tell you all about it.” A soft smile tugged on her lips, growing even wider as he matched it. For a few seconds, no words were spoken between them, drawn closer by the returning silence with a comfortable touch both longed for. It would be easy for either one to close the distance between them, unable to fight against the pull that made them feel like two magnets made to fit.
“I’m afraid our time together is about to be cut short.” It only took a few more seconds for (y/n) to hear the sounds of the others returning, making her heart drop in disappointment. Slowly, Carlisle let go of (y/n), he rose to his feet only to watch her mimic his movements with an unreadable expression widening on her features. “Here, why don’t you read through the comments I left and if you have any more questions, we can chat about it some more?”
“That would be great, thank you, Carlisle.” She wasn’t sure what was guiding her at that moment, but before (y/n) could stop herself, she had shifted her weight onto her toes to press a kiss to his cheek. And without sharing another word, she disappeared from his office with heat clinging to her like a second layer of skin.
……
“No, that’s also a lie.” Carlisle’s laughter reverberated through her apartment, echoing off the walls of her living room. She had called him a while ago, wondering if he’d be up for another chat about her questions. It hadn’t taken him long to find his way to her, making himself comfortable as one question after another left (y/n) – something they had been doing for the past hours.
“How can that be? You just destroyed everything I know about the past centuries.” Another laugh left him before he pulled (y/n) closer. She found herself sitting closer to him, staring up at Carlisle who cupped her cheek with his cold hand. The electricity she felt whenever he touched her was back, buzzing down her spine to leave her heart racing.
“I’m sorry, it’s not my intention to disappoint you, love.” His thumb brushed over her warm skin, leaving her tingling and buzzing while shuffling even closer to him. No further word managed to leave (y/n) while she focused on Carlisle, letting her gaze flicker between his eyes and his lips. The pull she felt was growing stronger by the second, urging her on to close the small distance between them.
“Carlisle,” (y/n) whispered his name as if she hoped that he could understand what she was about to ask of him. And then he finally moved. Their lips clashed together urgently, perfectly fitting together as if they had been created for one another, having to endure years and centuries even while waiting for her to find him.
The kiss wasn’t interrupted once, not as she crawled into his lap, not as he tightened his grip on her neck to keep her close to him. It felt as if he was tasting her blood, high on the taste and scent that had never influenced him this much, begging him to own every part of her body. And for her it was a similar sensation, just as intense even though she had nothing to compare it to, not used to feeling this dizzy from a simple kiss.
“Don’t stop, don’t ever stop, please.” (Y/n) mumbled the words against his lips. Carlisle’s cold hands found their way beneath her sweater, carefully touching her skin while trying to keep some distance between them and that last line they were craving to cross.
“Talk to me, love. What do you want?” His mouth found her neck while he focused on the sounds of her racing pulse, of her pounding heart and her trembling breaths. He had her trapped, lured into his darkness as if he had always counted on her weakness.
“Everything, I want all of you.” Carlisle rose to his feet without a warning, tearing a squeal from (y/n). Within seconds he had carried her into her bedroom, only to toss her down on the comfortable mattress she was now laying on. She watched him pull out of his sweater, exposing a simple shirt that clung to his muscular upper body, a sight (y/n) would forever remember, taking it to the grave with her.
“If you want me to stop, you have to tell me. Don’t ever stop talking to me.” Their eye contact grew more intense after he had spoken his words, leaving her nodding. Carlisle helped her out of her clothes, moving all too slowly for her liking even though she appreciated him for offering her yet another way out.
“Touch me, please, Carlisle.” With only her panties left on, she felt exposed, vulnerable almost. But the second Carlisle exposed most of his body to her, she could no longer focus on herself, only on him, the cold skin she wanted to feel pressed against her, the body she felt like claiming. Carlisle settled between her thighs, eyes focused on her face as he kissed his way to her heat, pushing her damp panties aside to marvel at her.
“The most beautiful sight I’ve ever seen.” His praise left her chuckling with glee, a sound that turned into a moan the second he brushed his tongue through her slit. Choked moans left (y/n) while her hands tugged on his golden roots, trying to pull him even closer. It felt as if she was about to make it to heaven, touched with such an urgency, she feared that this was nothing but a trick of her excited brain.
“Fuck, Carlisle, you’re so good at this, shit.” Two of his fingers were pushed into her, curled against her swollen spot while he took care of her pulsing bundle. It wouldn’t take her long to fall over the edge should he keep on touching her like this, making her feel as if she was his most prized possession, the only woman he’d ever touch with this much passion.
“I have you, love, give yourself to me.” The words gave her the sudden push, forcing her first orgasm through her while Carlisle kept fucking her with his fingers. Her sounds left him smirking, telling him that she had always wanted him as much as he had wanted her, drawn together by something neither could put into words until now.
“Carlisle,” she drew him closer, up her body to greedily kiss him. Their tongues fought for victory, while she tugged on his underwear, begging him to fully undress so that he could fuck her. Minutes passed by, minutes both used to prepare themselves for what was about to happen, to cross the last line that would keep them connected from this moment on.
“Are you sure about this? This will change everything.” Carlisle brushed her hairs out of her face, smiling down at (y/n) who looked at him as if he was her saviour, the one she’d forever fight for and love until her last moment on this earth.
“I’ve never been so sure of something before.” With a small nod thrown her way, Carlisle got rid of the last layers between them before he positioned himself at her entrance. He reached for her hand to interlace their fingers, holding her close while slowly pushing into her. Both moaned in unison, letting go of their sounds that clawed through them without giving either one a chance to hold back.
She felt perfectly stretched, full by everything he offered to her. (Y/n) never wanted to get out of this moment again, she could die a happy death like this, fucked by the man she had been crushing on, lured closer by her racing heart.
Carlisle didn’t hold back, he didn’t treat her as if she was close to breaking, no, he fucked her like he meant it. Every thrust was symbolic for the sensations they felt, the love growing stronger, the longing they no longer could deny. A perfect match that left them hungry for more.
No words managed to leave (y/n), she was already too far gone, fully concentrating on the feeling of Carlisle fucking her. His cold fingers took care of her pulsing bundle, adding just enough pressure to leave her trembling beneath him. Carlisle dipped his head down to kiss her, to swallow some sounds while his cock brushed her swollen spot with every calculated thrust.
“I won’t last long, Carlisle.” Her confession left him chuckling against her lips. Carlisle didn’t reply, at least not with words, but his thrusts grew faster, pushing her towards the edge once again. (Y/n) tried to scratch at his skin, desperate to hold onto him, but the second her orgasm clashed through her, she lost control of her body, giving herself fully to the sensation.
He kept fucking her, faster with every thrust. Carlisle drew some more moans out of (y/n) while groans kept leaving him, set on burying himself deep inside of her when he came. And with his forehead pressed against hers, he finally let go.
“Who knew sex with a man who is over three hundred years old could be this good?” (Y/n)’s whispers left both laughing. She allowed herself to keep studying him, letting her fingers brush through his strands, while promising herself that she’d live this to the fullest, wherever their path together would lead them.

"I can't wait until we find a good island, with good girls…" Thatch pointed out, downing the rest of the beer in his glass. "It's been decades."
"You mean days." Marcos corrected him.
"You men, can't you not think about it?" you pointed out, seeing them laugh. "What's the problem?"
"The person said that every other night he's waking up the entire ship." Izou leaned on you, in an almost theatrical way. "Oh Ace, don't stop. Please Ace, give me more." He tuned his voice in order to imitate you.
"That doesn't mean I only think about it." you pushed him away and on the other side of the table, you saw Ace laugh cynically. "And what's your problem?"
"Nothing, I mean, I'm not the one who seems to only think about it, or beg for it." upon seeing your sullen face, he pointed at his colleague. "I'm speaking based on what Izou said."
"I would stop the joke here, you could be entering dangerous waters." Marco warned him, but was completely ignored.
"I agree with the little bird." your challenging gaze turned to him. "There's no point complaining later."
"Complain? Well, it's a good thing we're getting to the next island, isn't it Thatch?" Ace's laugh was more to tease you than for any other reason. This time, you would allow yourself to fall into his pile, even if on purpose.
"Good to know, Mr. Portgas." a pretentious smile crossed your expression. "Island pussies will be the next and only ones you'll see."
The commotion between the friends brought a common redness to Ace's face, eliciting almost evil laughter from you. That same night, as you were getting ready for bed, you felt a hand wrap around your waist, wet lips slide down the back of your neck.
"You know I was joking, don't you?" Ace whispered, placing a kiss on the corner of your neck that he knew was your weak face. One of his hands slipped inside your shorts, his fingers played with the elastic of your panties. "Let me make it up to you for today?"
"But I wasn't kidding." Begrudgingly, you pulled away from him, turning to look at Ace's frustrated face. "Go after the women on the island."
"You don't have to be so mean."
"Or you'll have to beg." you pointed out, unable to hide the malice in your words. That didn't go unnoticed by Ace, who took a few steps back.
"So this is going to be a little game." He sat on the bed, arms back supporting his body, legs parted highlighting the bulge in his shorts. "Whoever begs first loses?"
"Not whoever begs first." you moved closer, pretending to sit on his lap, just enough to move away and lie down on the bed, facing away from his body. "You're the one who's going to beg. Good night, fire fists."
Ace wasted a good few minutes there, contemplating how low a game you had played at that moment. He wouldn't break the small bet first, at least that's what he thought.
The next day, hunting through the clothes you had, you picked out the ones you knew were his favorites. No comfortable pajamas or loose clothes until he gave in. You knew it would be a difficult bet, but this time you would emerge victorious.
Sundress on your skin, floral perfume and lips red as fire, you knew how to play your cards.
"Hi guys!" you approached the small circle that was engaged in some kind of conversation. You noticed three immediate reactions, Marco and Izou who laughed knowing full well what you were doing and Ace, who seemed to be lost in some kind of mirage.
"I know about your commitment, but it would be unfair if I let it go unnoticed." Vista pulled out some rose petals and handed them to you. "You look beautiful today."
"Thank you Vi." You purposely walked past them and leaned on the edge of the ship, feeling the wind move the hem of your dress. "How long until the island?"
"I-I guess one day, miss." you heard one of the boys murmur and then your boyfriend's voice shouted at him.
"I see what you're looking at!" you didn't even need to look back, knowing that Ace was touching all the brothers there. "Everyone disappear, go, circulate."
"What's wrong, darling?"
"What is wrong?" he came to you. His hands pointed indignantly at your body. "What is that?"
"A dress. Don't like it?" His growl of frustration made you laugh.
"You know very well that's not the problem." he leaned closer, almost whispering. "The problem is actually the incredible opposite of that."
"It's a shame, my little flame." you snuck up to reach his ear. "Although, seeing you all jealous like that makes me sooo wet. Too bad you can't see it, or taste it."
That sentence was enough to guarantee, firstly, Ace's bad mood, damn the time he was falling for such a bet, and secondly, another dose of overprotectiveness from Ace, after all, no one would watch his girl. Whether it was while you were parading around in your sundress, or when the next day you showed up in an even shorter one and wearing just a bikini over it, or when you decided to sleep wearing just one of his t-shirts.
A week had already passed since the small bet. Maybe Ace had taken your possible hurt too seriously, especially because he refused to disembark - until he saw you go to the village wearing another one of the clothes that drove him crazy and he wouldn't have been crazy enough to leave you parading alone.
Night had already fallen at Moby Dick and most of your colleagues were asleep when you reached your room. Of all things, you didn't expect to find Ace sitting on the edge of the bed, one hand wrapped in your panties and the other sliding over his cock.
"Looks like someone is having a hard time." you murmured, hearing him groan and turn towards you. "Ready to beg?"
"I bet you'll beg first." his husky voice punctuated, as if the sight of him masturbating in front of you wasn’t enough to turn you on.
"That's a game two can play, my love." you locked the door behind you and allowed your dress to turn into a puddle of fabric at your feet.
"No panties, all day?" you gave a smug smile when you saw that you had stolen his attention. Ignoring the question, you walked to the other side of the room.
"Do you see anything interesting?" you patiently dragged the chair in front of where Ace was sitting. Using the same patience, you sat down on the chair and let each of your legs rest beside him, giving him a privileged view.
"Fuck." he muttered. "You're not going to do that to me, are you?"
"I'm not going to lie, it's been a tough few days." Your hand slid across your breasts, paying little attention to them, after all your objective was different.
Your fingers separated your pussy lips, the shine indicating how wet you were made Ace tighten his grip against his own cock. You used your two middle fingers to slowly circle your clit.
"It's so hard to use just my fingers, my love." you penetrated one of your fingers inside you, slowly and giving a drawn out moan. "I miss you so much, you're so much better at this than me."
"Just ask." His voice was broken, his eyes focused on your intimacy.
"I'm not going to - fuck - give up." another finger accompanied the entry of intimacy, in a slow back and forth that was excruciating for you and your viewer. "But it's burning so much babe, I miss you so much in here."
You continued moving your fingers slowly, seeing that Ace no longer paid attention to his movements but to yours. The tip of his dick was almost red from the pressure of his closed fist, precum glistening and oozing from it. You took your fingers out of your intimate area and pretended to take them to Ace's mouth, when he opened them ready to taste, you put them in your mouth, moaning just to tease him.
"You're right when you say I'm delicious." you, millimeters away from him, made a point of licking finger after finger that was in contact with your pussy. "Too bad bad boys can't prove that."
"Please." the request was barely audible. "Babe, please."
"I don't think I heard you right. You're going to have to beg a little more." You closed your legs and leaned back against the chair.
"Please, love, let me taste you a little. You're so wet, I just want to feel you a little, please." he started to ask, his hands were now pressing hard against the bed sheet, a way to contain himself and not advance on you. "Fuck, please, baby, just a little."
"Such a good boy." You grabbed his chin and pulled away again. "Come on, you can taste some."
The words barely left your mouth and Ace was already on his knees on the floor. His hands separating your legs and this time, resting them on his shoulders. His tongue - warmer than usual - slid all over your pussy, bringing some of the relief you had waited for so long.
"No, no, no my dear." you asked as you saw one of his hands slide out of your reach. "You've been a bad boy these days and that's why you can't touch yourself."
"Y-Yes ma'am." he pulled away from your lower lips to respond. His hand, which went down to his dick, went up to your intimacy, inserting his fingers without any warning. "Can I do that? Fuck you like that? It's so tight."
"Please, Ace." Your request sounded like music to his ears, which accelerated the small thrusts he made while holding your clitoris between his lips.
Your hand got tangled in his dark hair and pulled him away from your intimacy. You stood up and he remained on his knees there, waiting for the next order. That was already an old thing between the two of you and the days of waiting only made it even more enjoyable.
You motioned for him to stand and took his lips to yourself. The taste of you stuck in his mouth along with the moans he made could be almost enough to get you there, but you needed more. You pushed Ace onto the bed, laying him down and placing his hands under the pillow. Before sinking down on his cock, you let your hips rub your intimacy soaked by his length.
“I’m begging you” he pleaded, trying to lunge at you. "Just let me fuck you, just a little. I already did what you wanted, begging and leaving me suffering like this is too mean."
"Does my little flame want to cum?" You slid down, feeling inch by inch of him impaling you. Your moans were contained, remembering the comments of your friends who heard you. "Just a little more and I promise to let you fill me up." you moved slowly, only to leave him frustrated.
"Honey, please." his voice was squeaky, the pillow over his hands had become a mash of cotton and fabric. "Please, just ride for me. Just move, please."
"Like this?" You let his cock move in and out a few times, hearing him moan loudly.
"Exactly like that, please." you increased your pace.
It was like having a private ego booster. Each time your hips met the base of his cock, you could hear the moans increase - theirs and yours. The ends of the pillow began to turn to ashes as you remained on top of Ace, looking for both of you to orgasm.
"Keep it up, your pussy is squeezing me so good, so fucking good. I can't hold back anymore, babe."
"Poor Ace." you slid out of him, seeing him grunt. The little torture was too much even for you. Before letting him in again, you took his hands from under the pillow and brought them to your hips. "Can you help me?"
It was like awakening a sleeping monster, or releasing a beast that had been caged for decades. Ace immediately turned you over on the bed and your legs met his shoulders. He could bend you in half there, you really liked it when he took the reins to complain. It didn't take many thrusts for you to become a mess beneath him, holding your tongue so you wouldn't become the one begging.
"That's how you like it, isn't it? Feeling me so deep in that pussy, so delicious, so mine" Ace pressed you even more, eliciting a scream mixed with a moan from inside you. "Is this how you want it, my princess?"
"I -I…Ace!"
"No need to beg, babe." One of his fingers began to circle your clitoris as quickly as he was thrusting deep into you. "Just cum with me, please. Let me feel you cumming so good around me." your orgasm became just a blur in your vision, as Ace filled you. The heat that his cum brought inside you was capable of making you cum again.
Before he threw himself on your side of the bed, Ace took your lips in a deep kiss and even when he lay down, his hands slid down your back, giving you goosebumps that you knew very well what they meant.
"You lost." your voice came out weaker than before.
"Yeah, I lost." unlike your voice, his came out provocative. His fingertips seemed to get hotter and hotter as he traced your skin. "For my defeat, tomorrow I take your services."
"This is a great prize." you laughed, turning your head to meet his attentive gaze. "Ace?"
"Just ask, my princess."
"As I've already won and now it's worthless…" you pulled his hand to your lips, teasing kisses falling between his fingers. "Fuck me just a little more, please, I want to feel you a little more. I missed you so much."
A weak laugh came from Ace and his hand that was on your lips came down to clamp against your throat.
"I don't think I heard you right. You're going to have to beg a little more."

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. Dressing up, whether it be spooky or sexy, was always fun. This year my boyfriend decided to take me to one of his frat parties to celebrate with booze and music. I waded through the crowd of tightly packed bodies, balancing my drink above my head to keep it from spilling. When I was finally free from the mob of drunk party goers I smoothed down my skirt. Today I was dressed pretty simply, just a black tutu, a white crop top with a bow tie, and clown makeup adoring my face. It was the easiest thing I could muster at the last minute. I made my way back to where I left my boyfriend, before I went to get my drink. The spot where he was sitting on the couch was empty and I scanned the bodies around me to see if I could see him. Slightly tipsy and not minding my step I accidentally bumped into a hard, warm body. My hand gripped onto a white, satiny costume to try and balance myself despite my spinning vision. I craned my neck up the tall figure to see a fellow black and white clown. His costume is a lot more intricate than my own. I finally looked at his face and he smiled down at me with a big smile.
“I’m so sorry! I wasn’t paying attention. But hey, at least we’re matching.” I giggle my last words as I let go of his costume. His smile seemed to widen as he gestured to himself and then back at me, giving me a thumbs up. I drunkenly giggle again before I ask my next question. “Hey have you um- seen my boyfriend? He’s brunette, dressed as the Grim reaper. He was just over there.” I gesture over to where he was sitting on the couch. “But now he’s gone.” I look back at my fellow clown companion with the best puppy eyes I could muster. The clown frowned at my face before shrugging his shoulders and clasping his hands behind his back. I huffed with annoyance. Not at my new friend of course, but at my boyfriend who was notorious for ditching me and showing up out of nowhere an hour later with a plausible excuse. “Well..” I sighed. “Thanks anyway, if you see him tell him to find me, alright?” I looked at the clown expectantly. He placed his palm to his forehead in a salute and marched away. I giggled as we parted ways.
Continuing my hunt for my boyfriend, I found myself on the second floor with the bedrooms, bodies pressed against the walls in feverious making out. My eyes landed on my boyfriend’s room, the door was shut and I could see his red light emanating from under the door. My stomach sank even in my drunken state. I was VERY familiar with that red light, with all the nights I spent under and on top of him. Everything started to spin as I got closer to the door, the cold metal of the knob nipped at my hot skin. With a shuddering breath, I twisted my wrist, cracking the door just a smidge. I could hear faint moaning and the sound of skin slapping skin. I closed my eyes as I leaned towards to crack, praying silently that I was overthinking. With one last shaking breath I willed myself to open my eyes. My world came crashing down as I confirmed it was him. I know that head full of brown mussed hair, those broad shoulders, and that big tattoo on his back. My eyes watered as I fought back the urge to sob, or to wretch, I’m not fully sure. As I backed away from the door my body collided with a familiar body. I craned up and saw the clown from before. He frowned at the crack in the door and finally back at my tear stained face. He gently caressed the side of my face, his thumb wiping my tears away. The surprising act of kindness caused the dam to break behind my eyes. A sob ripped from my chest as I roughly pushed past my new found friend, running to get as far away from the scene as possible.
Before I knew it I found myself in the backyard, on my hands and knees, gagging into the grass. The cry’s that came from me were almost animalistic, as a crowd gathered around me. A body gently kneeled next to my shivering body and wrapped a thick, heavy object around my shoulders. I looked up through wet lashes and saw Trevor. My boyfriend’s best friend. He gave me a look of pity and understanding as he gently rubbed my shoulders in a reassuring manner.
“Come on, leave the girl alone!…” he barked as he picked me up and made his way through the crowd. “Get out of my way!” He pushed us through the crowd and led me away from the wandering eyes. We ended up in a little gazebo surrounded by tall, dense bushes that provided us the isolation we needed. Gently placing me on the bench, he sat next to me and gently rubbed my back. My crying had died down to sniffles, gazing at the ground. Trevor moved his hand away from my back and I heard him shuffle around for a little bit until I heard the unmistakable sound of a lighter click. Before I could fully register there was a cigarette in my line of sight. With quivering hands I grasped into the small stick and brought it to my chapped lips. Inhaling the smoke deeply, I felt the familiar burn at the back of my throat. “How long.” I felt my raw voice croak. I felt Trevor tense next to me and I slowly moved my head to look at him. He sighed and shook his head. “You don’t want to know.” I felt my heartbreak even more and something bubbled in me. Taking a drag, I tried to calm my nerves but I couldn't help the question that came out of my mouth. “Has it been the same bitch?” I asked him, a hint of anger lacing my words. He looked up from his fidgeting hands in surprise and when he made eye contact he knew I was playing. “At first, no. But he’s been consistently seeing this one girl lately.”
“Lately.” I chuckled in disbelief, taking a puff of my cigarette.
“Yeah. A freshman, Cassidy smith. He’s been fucking her for three months now.” He murmured. Something about that sentence stoked the fire in my chest. I took a final hit of my nicotine stick before throwing it down the ground. I stood and pretty much marched back to the house, completely ignoring Trevor’s pleas to come back and not to go in. My chest heaved as I walked through the back door, my rage spiked as I looked around the crowd. I must have looked feral because all the eyes I met had fear laced through them. I stomped towards and up the stairs with a passion. Once again I was face to face with my boyfriend’s bedroom. The same red light was glowing around the border of the door. I debated on pounding and screaming on the wood, or just barging in. Deciding on the latter I gripped the handle and pushed the door open. “You stupid son of a-“ My eyes finally focused on the scene in front of me, and all the rage drained from me. The only emotion I was left with was terror as I slowly backed away from the horrid sight in front of me. My boyfriend, or what was left of him, was laying on the ground. His head resembled ground beef and his body was mutilated, his arms were broken at the elbows and one of his legs was crushed. His stomach was gutted open and his insides were spread out everywhere. Even some of his intestines hug from the ceiling fan. Still backing up, I heard the door shut behind me. I jumped and turned to see my new friend. His black and white Silhouette was covered in blood and his face was emotionless. He stepped towards me and I took an unconscious step back.
“Did you do this?” I asked cautiously. He smiled and opened his hands out in a tada motion. My head was reeling with a lot of different emotions as the clown stood in front of me, his smile faltering as I stayed silent. His eyes lit up and he stuck a finger out towards me, telling me to wait. He turned and fumbled around until he finally turned to me, his hands clasped around something. He knelt down on one knee and opened his hands to reveal his gift. In his large palm sat a severed female finger, with a beautiful pearl ring adoring it. “For me?” I asked in shock, my hand flying to my chest, feeling my heart beat rapidly. He nodded enthusiastically and then finally looked at the gift himself. Scrunching his eyebrows together he tried removing the ring from the finger, but it seemed to be stuck. Anger flashed on his face as he stuck the digit into his mouth and yanked back. That seemed to cause the ring to dislodge and he spit the phalange onto the floor. The pearl band sat in his large hand, sticking my left hand out, he slid it onto my ring finger. Before standing back to his full height he gave my hand a gentle kiss. I felt a blush creep over my face as I shyly hung my head, looking at the ring on my finger.
I felt a large hand softly stroke my cheek, slowly dipping down to my chin, pulling it up to look at the man in front of me. My breath caught in my throat as he bent over to my height. His dark eyes were swirling with emotion, and his long nose lightly tapped against mine. I let out a breathy chuckle and his shoulders shook with a silent laugh. I finally closed the distance between us and pressed my lips to his. They were surprisingly soft as our lips melded together. I felt the man let go of my face and slowly let his hands travel down my sides.
His hands halted on my hips, deeply kneading the skin there. The kiss deepened as I softly whined into his mouth. Our tongues danced as his hands slipped from my hips down to the swell of my ass, roughly grasping it, lifting me to his height. I wrapped my arms around his neck as my legs went around his waist, moaning as he lifted me like I was weightless. He broke the kiss with a smirk as he quickly turned and pressed my body against the cold wall. A shiver wracked up my spine as he pinned me there, his arms braced on either side of my head with his thigh bracing me up, and meeting with my thinly covered core. I needily ground my hips down as I whined. The friction caused my sensitive clit to throb. The clown in front of me watched me with his full attention. His mouth hung open as his hand slowly moved from the wall, sneaking up underneath my top and grabbing onto my bare breast. His thumb swiped over my nipple right as my clit rubbed perfectly against his leg, and my orgasm came to me in waves. The clown muffled the loud moan that escaped me by crashing his lips against mine, continuing to tweak my nipple to help me ride out my high as my hips slowly stopped jerking against him. Breathing heavily, I slumped against the wall as he grabbed my ass, lifting me up yet again. My arms limply supported myself as he turned back around and started walking. After a few steps he came to a halt, and I suddenly felt the sensation of falling.
I landed on something soft and wet. Realizing the clown dropped me on to my boyfriend's blood soaked bed, I felt another wave of want flow straight to my core. I perched myself on my arms as I looked at the black and white clad man in front of me. His smirk grew as he watched my eyes follow his hand down to the very noticeable tent in his outfit. His head was thrown back as he palmed himself over the satin material of his costume. My legs slowly widened for him as my cunt clenched around nothing. He looked back at me with hooded eyes and watched as I slowly slid my panties to the side. I dipped my fingers into a puddle of blood that was next to me; the thick slime coating them. I watched the man in front of me, his eyes locking onto my hand as I slowly led my fingers back to my aching cunt. The cold liquid caused me to close my eyes and hiss in pleasure as I dragged my fingers around my still tender bud. The sound of ripping fabric caught my attention, suddenly looking back at the clown. There was a new hole on his costume and his hard dick poked through. It was red, hard (almost pulsing), long and curved. My mouth watered and he gripped the base and slowly stroked his length. Precum dripped from the tip as he leant over me, slowly dragging his tip through my slit. I fell onto my back as his head nudged my clit, moaning embarrassingly loud. Slowly trailing back down, his tip sat at my entrance. I locked eyes with him and whispered out a breathy “please”, he slowly slipped into me. My eyes rolled back with my mouth hung open, he stilled as he was fully seated inside me. His hand gripped the back of my neck and yanked it up a bit. My eyes fluttered open and he looked back at me, almost as if waiting for the go ahead.
“Fuck me.” I almost commanded the man as a sinister smile broke out across his face. His hands immediately gripped my hips with a bruising strength, and snapped his hips out of me. With the tip barely still inside me, his dick snapped back into me. I yelped as he continued the fast and brutal pounding, the tip of his dick dragging right against that special spot, causing me to see stars. The knot in my stomach continued to tighten as the sound of my wet pussy taking him filled the room. Tears fell out of the corner of my eyes as my mind melted into pleasure. I could feel my knuckles turning white with how hard I was gripping the sticky sheets below me, almost at the brink or my climax. I suddenly felt a tight grip on my throat as my oxygen and blood supply was cut off. The room started spinning as I felt my pussy clench him with a vice grip. My orgasm crashed through my body as my vision blurred and my pulse pumped in my temples. I clawed at his arm as his hips stuttered and I felt him cum inside me. Finally his hand released its grip from my neck and I heaved a breath into my burning lungs. His large figure laid limp over my body and I felt sleep overtake me. As I curled up under his warm body like a blanket, I finally felt protected and at peace.

Could I request a George karim x reader with the prompt  “i couldn’t find you and i just thought something happened, alright...” or “i wasn’t that worried, i was just wondering where you were..” I feel like George suits the reluctant friend to lovers kinda vibes
Tumblr media
I just had to write this as soon as I could before the idea left my head for good.
Where the hell were you?
Did you normally take this damn long getting back home or was your perception of time that out of wack?
You said you’d be back before noon but noon was quick to arrive and you were still yet to even walk through that door.
George thought to himself as he remained sat on the staircase, eyeing the front door like a guard dog awaiting potential intruders; which he desperately hopes wouldn’t be the case and instead you returning from wherever it was that you went.
George knew how he sounded but he assured himself that he wasn’t some concerning, overprotective boyfriend, after all you were just a friend he came to fret over albeit a little too much in terms of you two being just friends. It wasn’t his fault that you had a track record of inconsistencies when it came to coming back at the time you set yourself.
It happens all too often for his liking that he was already tempting the idea hunting for you across London before dragging you back home by the hood of your coat. Today wasn’t any different as once again you promised to be back by a certain time and once again you failed in doing so by a fifteen minute gap.
George began to feel that all too familiar anxious feeling within the pit of his stomach that he noted only seemed to happen whenever you -and only you- were late returning home from your ventures.
“Next time this happens, I’m putting a damn tracker on them or follow them from a distance so it doesn’t look like I’m stalki-“
Before George could finish his sentence, the front door opened and you stepped into the hallway with a smile before ridding yourself of your coat and hanging it on the nearest coat hanger. “Heya Georgie, how long have you been there?” You causally asked as though you weren’t the soul reason George believed he was going to gain grey hairs from the stress you’ve been giving him these past few days.
The audacity you had never failed to draw an indignant scoff from his lips as he pushed himself off of the staircase he was gradually becoming numb from sitting too long. “Long enough, where the hell have you been? Have you any idea how-“ “George,” you stopped him, a smile growing across your face as the pieces began to click in your head, “it sounds to me like you were worried about little ol’ me.”
Your lighthearted accusation had George on the ropes and if there was one thing you knew about George Karim and that was he was too stubborn to go down without having the last say in any conversation. “I wasn’t that worried, I was just…wondering you were that’s all.” He defended himself, feeling a tad flustered when a laugh escaped your lips as you neared him; resting your hands on his shoulders, causing them to tense briefly, as you leaned in close to press an innocent kiss to his cheek before pulling away.
You laughed lightly once you saw his scrunched up face. “How sweet of you, my knight in oversized nightshirts.” You teased as you side stepped him in order to get up the stairs, but were stopped when George reached a hand to grasp onto your hand which caused you to look at him quickly, “Just,” he began, “just tell me when your going to be late next time alright, instead of leaving me to worry my arse off.”
You smiled at him softly, “I’ll try.”
“You promise?” George asks.
“I promise.” You echoed, leaning in close to him again to press a feather light kiss to his nose before disappearing up the stairs and out of sight; which George was grateful for since it meant you wouldn’t tease him for the dopey smile across his face.

diluc trudged down the path through the whispering woods, kicking aside overgrown bushes. his patrol had proved worth his while, the hilichurls near starfell lake had begun to regroup, and were fashioning shields. they were easy enough to take care of, but the smell of ash clung to his clothes and his arms were rather sore. perhaps he should cut tonight short, he had been doing quite a bit of labor today…
whispers off the side of the path caught his attention and he stopped to listen, turning slightly.
“-grass isn’t edible!”
“is too! teacher had a book about it!”
he stepped and pushed aside the bushes, startling those beyond them.
two figures hunched around a patch of lamp grass, the blue light doing little to help with the dense canopy overhead. two visions shone in the dark, one purple and one red, and he identified them after a moment.
bennett, eyes wide and on scuffed knees, and his friend from the forest, the one lisa was teaching grammar, hunched over in an odd crouch.
“what are you two doing out so late?”
“is lamp grass edible?” razor asked, pointing to the glowing plant, and diluc stared.
“…it’s used in a few recipes, yes, but-“
in an instant he snatched up the plants, ripping up some of their roots in his haste to shove them into his jacket.
“we leave now,” he said simply, standing and pulling bennett up with him. “thank you, master diluc.”
diluc stepped to block their exit. “you didn’t answer my question. bennett, what are you doing out? friend or not, your dads would have your head if they knew you were in the woods after dark.”
“i wasn’t just wandering! i was-…” he stopped suddenly, as if aware whatever he would say would get him into trouble. “we were looking for some stuff.”
“that doesn’t answer my question. anything would be easier to find before dark.”
“we looked with the sun,” razor interrupted, the soft glow from his pocket slightly illuminating his disappointment. “but nothing was found.”
diluc sighed. he couldn’t be mad at them, not really, mot when it was clear they never meant to stay out so late.
“whatever you’re looking for can be found in the morning. for now, come with me back to the city. razor, we’ll stop at a waypoint so you can return to wolvendom, okay?”
the two boys nodded, and he let them cross into the path.
“but don’t do this again, understood? and if you need help, ask.”
they both nodded, and diluc was left to wonder why they needed lamp grass in the first place.

“oh! sir albedo!”
albedo stopped, finishing his sentence on his clipboard before looking up, seeing noelle rushing over to him from the direction of the library.
“lady noelle. are you in need of something?”
she shook her head, metal gloves clicking together as she clasped her hands. idly, albedo noted the many scratches on them, presumably from the same action. “oh not at all, i’m alright, but lisa wanted me to remind you that your copy of ‘common medicinal herbs and their uses’ was due for either renewal or to be turned in soon, and to please not poison yourself again.”
albedo took the small card she handed him, noting the date. “i see. i’ll make note of this, and i’ll be sure to turn it in shortly. thank you, noelle.”
he took a step away but she stopped him with a hand, a flicker of irritation running through him.
“is there something else?”
“well, not from lisa, but i wanted to ask why you were researching this? normally you’re in dragonspine and studying ley lines, not stationed just outside of springvale and renting books on plants…”
he turned fully towards her, tucking away his pen and holding his notes close to his chest. “i am an alchemist, and the study is not fully about ley lines. i admit this is somewhat outside of my usual range of work, but sucrose is currently on medical leave—as i’m certain you already know—and i have no other sources of information aside of field research. this project is not an assignment, merely an interest of mine, and as such it has not made its way onto any formal paperwork. however, i can assure you i am not behind in any of my work.”
“ah- i never meant that you were behind! i was just curious!”
his papers crinkled under his hand. “there is no need to be. good day, miss noelle.”
without another word, he turned on his heel and left, making his way down the stairs and out the front gates of mondstat. taking his clipboard away from his chest, he reread the last portion of his notes to get his bearings, pulling out his pen to finish the report.
‘i’m not certain as to why you’d need these notes, klee, considering the knights are well-equipped to handle injuries, but please do not try to make your own medicine. it’s dangerous near wolvendom on a normal day, and you know what’s been going on lately. please, come see me or the healers for any injuries you may have.
‘remember, the knights are here to help.’

“diona? what are you doing out here?”
fish scattered as boots stomped through the shallow water, glittering scales barely visible through the splash.
“wh- hey! you scared off the fish!” diona shouted, tail lashing behind her. all that time she spent, waiting for the plumpest fish to swim up from the depths of the lake for nothing! now she had to wait even longer!
“fish? what do you need fish for?” draff asked, stopping near her as she sat on a rock, collecting her things. “are you hungry? oh, do you need more scales? i know the traveller helped you last time, but i have pretty quick reflexes too! i could catch you some.”
“as if,” she mumbled, glaring at where he was still standing in the lake. “and it’s fine, i don’t need your help.”
he watched in confusion as she brushed right past him, reaching to pluck snapdragon instead. “diona… you know you shouldn’t be out here, not now. it’s dangerous, and i don’t want you caught up in-“
“i’m fine.” she carefully put the flowers in her bag, pulling out her bow and scanning the waters. all the fish were far too lean, barely anything on their bones, but she might as well get something, right? “just stay still this time.”
before he could say anything—or worse, step forward and scare off the fish again—she nocked an arrow, collecting cryo on the tip. as soon as a fish got within range she let it fly, the cryo forming a spear that stabbed through the gills, pinning it in place. she set down her bow and carefully pulled the fish out, twisting the arrow to kill it before removing the small icicle and throwing it aside. it wasn’t a clean kill, and definitely not worth all the waiting she did, but… it was better than nothing.
“what do you need a fish for? we have plenty back in springvale…”
she ignored him, putting her bag over her shoulders and picked up the fish by the tail. “it’s fine. you better go back soon, you’re due for a patrol.”
her father hesitated, eyes wide and lost.
“diona, is this about last night? i already said i was sorry-“
“and i heard you then. now get out of the lake, your socks are going to get wet!”
he looked down and quickly stepped out of the water, taking off one boot to check that no water had gotten in. by the time he confirmed there wasn’t, she was gone, only a swaying bush to indicate where she had gone.
draff sighed.

razor stayed low to the ground as he ran, one hand on the strap of his bag. the patrols had gotten too close again, he’d heard lisa talk about it, and he couldn’t follow her orders to stay away.
‘it’s dangerous,’ she’d said, distaste apparent in her eyes. ‘and i’d hate for you to get involved in such things. you’re too young.’
‘too young.’ him?
he climbed up a cliff as quick as he could, the scrape of stone against his fingertips familiar, and pushed through the thick bushes at the top. thorns pulled at his jacket, denser than they should be, but he continued anyway, gritting his teeth through the pain.
‘too young.’ too young to read notes stained with droplets of blood, too young to sneak books about medicine into his reading practice, too young to bite through the bitter skin of wolfhooks in accordance with the notes albedo had taken at klee’s prompting.
too young to see knights swarming the place he’d come to know as safe, too young for the stench of blood to reach his nose, stronger than just the small drops beading on his skin.
kaeya was the first one to spot him, quickly excusing himself and walking over, attempting to block the scene even as razor cranes to try and see around him.
“razor! what are you doing here, huh? wasn’t your pack further south?”
in between people, he could see the stone he used to tuck supplies under, the white of a paper just barely sticking out amidst the shadows.
“what happened?”
kaeya sighed. “a patrol ran into somebody that we’ve been looking for for a while.” just say it. “things got.. a bit messy. are you alright, by the way? the bushes around here are incredibly thick…”
his arms barely stung. he kept his eye on the stone tucked between two wolfhook bushes. “i’m fine. here for wolfhooks.” he pointed through the crowd and kaeya looked, turning back with an odd twist to his lip.
“i think you’re better off finding wolfhooks elsewhere, razor. if you go down the path im certain you’ll find more.”
he knew. he shook his head anyway. “need these ones.”
another sigh. why was everybody sighing today? they had nothing to fear for.
“alright, fine. just stick close to me, alright?”
he put a hand on razor’s shoulder and let him through the crown of people, keeping his body between him and the source of the blood-smell. it didn’t matter.
razor crouched purposely close to the bushes, setting his bag right on top of the stone. he reached for the further wolfhooks first, knocking down the ones closer to him, dropping them into his bag on top of the skewers he was meant to leave. he picked up two of the fallen wolfhooks and hid the paper against his palm, pretending to rearrange the berries as he buried the note deep into his bag.
when he stood, kaeya turned with a smile. it was forced. “all done?”
razor nodded, clutching his bag close to his chest with both arms.
“good! now do me a favor and stick close to springvale for a while, okay?”
razor nodded again. “swear.”
hidden against his jacket, two of his fingers crossed.

jean’s chair scraped against the floor as she sat at the head of the meeting table. “so, any news on the hunt?”
heads shook all around the table. a few hands clenched, a few jaws ticked, but nobody spoke up.
jean held back a sigh, reviewing the papers in front of her. “we have to catch them before they leave mondstat… has the only time we’ve seen them been with captain kaeya’s patrol?”
everybody nodded, but kaeya himself didn’t seem satisfied. instead, he stared across the table at klee, who was drawing on a notepad.
“klee?”
she looked up at his voice, and though jean raised an eyebrow, he continued, leaning forward in his chair. “have you spoken to razor recently?”
klee thought about it for a moment, but eventually shook her head. “nope!”
“klee’s been in solitary for the past few days,” jean cut in. “why are you asking about razor?”
kaeya shrugged. “he showed up at the scene and seemed pretty insistent on getting the wolfhooks there-“
“and you let him?”
“look, lisa, it would have been harder to say no. you want me to explain to him what’s going on? you haven’t.”
electricity crackled across lisa’s fingertips. “he should never have been allowed to get close.”
“he popped up out of nowhere, what was i supposed to do? shove him back into the bushes?”
“kaeya.”
the silence that followed was only broken when klee put her pen on the table with a loud clack!, smiling widely at her finished drawing.
jean sighed, directing her attention towards her to try and break the tension. “klee, before you went to solitary-“ her excitement dimmed, her smile slipping to a pout, and jean’s heart hurt a bit “-did you talk to anybody? outside of the knights, of course.”
she thought about it again, carefully putting away her pen and tearing off the sheet of paper with her drawing on it. “nope! klee’s stayed within the walls for the last… month, maybe? i don’t want to get in the way!”
albedo looked up from his notes—did he ever stop working?—with a frown. “then why did you ask me about herbs?”
herbs?
she shrugged. “curious! bennett needed help with a friend of his, so i wanted to ask you because you’re super smart!”
a few of the knights smiled. albedo did not.
“a friend…”
klee picked up her notepad, free hand on the edge of the table. “can i leave?”
jean sighed. “sure, klee. stay out of trouble, okay?”
she nodded with a wide smile, pushing herself away from the table and walking away, leaving her drawing on the table.
jean picked it up, “klee, you left this!”
she paused for a moment, turning, but eventually continued. “you can have it!”
jean’s lip picked up in a small smile as klee reached for the door handle, carefully closing it behind her. she picked up the drawing, turning it right side up.
it was simple, as most children’s drawings were, and though the pen that albedo got her had multiple kinds of ink inside, she was still limited on color. two trees stood on either edge of the page, and three figures stood on grass. one was small, with a red hat and bag, labeled ‘mE!’. another had goggles and a weird circle at its side, named ‘bEnnY!’, and besides him was somebody in what looked like a jacket and with fluffy hair, named ‘razor!’.
it was cute. the z in razor was backwards, and the bushes were little more than some scribbles, but she had clearly put effort into it. there was even some wolfhooks on a bush, with a little label of….
“jean? is something wrong?”
jean slammed the paper on the desk and stood, uncaring of the way her chair skid as she pulled her jacket off the back of it, quickly putting it on.
“all of you, with me.”
the wolfhooks weren’t wolfhooks. they were eyes.
eyes labeled ‘the creator’.

Our Place - Lo'ak x Reader
Main Masterlist ~ Avatar Masterlist
Tumblr media
2106 words
Warnings: none (if you find one please let me know)
+ Lo'ak discovers a private spot one day and can't wait to show you, his best friend. That spot becomes a safe haven for you two. Eventually, it may just become more.
"Come on, Lo'ak! Were going to get in trouble!" I ran after the boy through the trees. I was laughing regardless of the chance for trouble.
"You know you love it!" He yelled back. We were out way past eclipse and curfew. He said he wanted to show me something but it was better to see it at night. I agreed without a second thought.
Lo'ak and I have been best friends since we were kids. My mother was a good friend and fought alongside Neytiri so it was fate for us to be friends. It was also a relief to his parents that I seemed to balance him out, sometimes.
"Hey slow down Lo'ak!" He was quite a bit ahead of me and was getting farther away. He just shot me a smile over his shoulder before disappearing from sight. I slowed as I made it to a small empty clearing. "Lo'ak?"
I couldn't see or hear Lo'ak anywhere. I turned around slowly scanning the area for the boy. My grip tightened on my bow as the silence grew. My tail was stiff behind me, Only the end twitching in unease as my ears twitched with every sound.
"Gotcha!" A hand grabbed my tail and yanked me back. I landed against his chest.
"Lo'ak! You skxawng!" I yelled and looked over my shoulder at him. His face was a lot closer than I anticipated. We were nearly nose to nose, close enough I could count everyone of his freckles. I noticed his hand was still holding my tail.
"Oh, um... Sorry but I got you. I totally did." He let go of my tail but lightly punched my shoulder.
"Yeah, yeah. You got me." I rolled my eyes but laughed nonetheless. He did a little dance. He is adorable.
"Come on. It's just a little ways this way." He pointed through the trees.
"Okay." I nodded. He grabbed my hand and pulled me along. My tail perked up at his touch.
I realized a long time ago that I had feelings for Lo'ak. Very deep, strong feelings for him. I would spend the rest of my life with him if he chose me.
"Here it is." He looked at me before pushing through some large leaf. Before us was the most beautiful waterfall spring I've ever seen.
"Oh my Eywa..." I gasped, covering my mouth in awe. I stepped out of the leaves and looked around.
The water was glowing with the bioluminescence. Perfect draped vines hang over some of the most beautiful flowers in every color. There was a wide overhang cave of the rocks next to waterfall. It would be a perfect shelter from the rain. The whole area was like an oasis for Eywa herself.
"Lo'ak... how did you find this place?"
"I was out here hunting one day on my own. I didn't find much to hunt but I found this." He was admiring the view with me. I met his gaze. "There's more though."
"More?" I looked at him shocked. He took my hand again and pulled me to a clear patch of grass. He pulled me to the ground and sat me next to him.
"Now lay back." He said as he laid back with arm behind his head. I did and looked up. From this Spot, there was a Perfect view of the stars. "Amazing isn't it?"
"Yeah." The word came out so soft, I wasn't sure if he heard me. We laid there in peaceful silence for a while. "Thank you for showing this to me."
"Of course." I looked over at him and I could see the reflection of the stars in his bright yellow eyes. I bit the inside of my cheek as my heart fluttered. He must have sensed my gaze because he turned to meet it. We shared a smile before turning back to the sky.
~
After that, the clearing was our secret spot. The place where we could escape it all. We had brought stuff to make the place more comfortable. Pillows, blankets, etc. We went very often. Like today.
"I'm sorry to disappoint you but it's my life. I'll do what I choose." I screamed as I ran out of my family hut. I just had an recurring argument with my parents. This time though, everything went too far.
"Y/N!" I heard them yell but I ignored them. I wanted nothing to do with them. I ran through the village, past the Sully's, and into the trees, heading for the spot. Tears were running down my face by the time I made it. I stumbled and fell as soon as I made it into the clearing.
"Shit!" I yelped as pain shot through my left wrist. Thunder rolled above me as I slowly got up to my knees. I glanced up at the dark clouds before getting up & walked over to the cave. I collapsed into the bedding and I broke down. The weather matched my tears but with earnest.
"Y/N! Y/N!" Someone's voice broke through the storm after about 10 minutes. I peeked out from the pillows to see someone running through the rain. They quickly jumped up and stepped into the cave with me.
"Lo'ak?" I croaked, throat raw from the crying.
"Woo! It's really pouring." He laughed, shaking off the water. "What's up? Tuk said she saw you run by at full speed and..." He paused, dropping his bow. "What's wrong?!"
"Lo'ak..." I tried to wipe my face.
"You've been crying. What's wrong? Who did this?" He knelt in front of me, cupping my face. I started to sob again. "Shit..." He pulled away.
"No!" I whimpered, reaching for him. I grabbed his wrist. He set his hand over mine and caressed my wrist with his other hand.
"I'm not going anywhere. I just need to dry off and I'll be right back, I promise." I reluctantly let go. I buried myself in the pillows again. It was only a few minutes before he came back. He hopped over me before sitting behind me. "Come here."
"Okay." I turned over and shuffled in close. He pulled me into his chest and laid back. Fingers began to run through my hair and he laid his head on mine. The tenderness sent me over the edge again. I sobbed into his neck and in response, he tightened his grip and softly spoke.
"It's okay. Go ahead and cry. I've got you." He said into my hair. The gentle touches, the sound of his breathing, and the warmth of his skin was like a safety blanket. After I didn't even know how long, I began to calm down. "There we go."
"I'm... I'm sorry." I hiccuped as I wiped my face. He sat us up and scooted back to lean against the pillows, tucking me into his side.
"No, no. Don't be sorry. You did nothing wrong." He took over in wiping my tears away. I met his soft eyes and he gave me a smile that made my heart melt. "What happened?"
"My parents and I got into a major fight." I revealed.
"About?"
"My future and who I choose to be my mate." I said. His eyes widened before speaking.
"Oh, what about it?"
"They want me to follow the same path as my aunt and not be a Warrior. They also want me to choose to mate with Ni'vite."
"Ni'vite? He's an asshole and a sleazy bastard."
"I know. But they won't listen to me. They only see the strong warrior and not the boy he is." I set my head back down on his chest. "They said they will make it an arranged mating."
"What! Why would they... that's not fair to you. You should be able to choose who you want and what you want to do with your life."
"You would think but they think otherwise." I grumbled. I finally calmed down and snuggled into him more. Tears were still falling but silently now.
"So have you already chosen who you wish to bond with?" There was something in his voice that gave way to being upset and pained.
"Well yeah um, no but I..." I sat up and detached myself from him. I could feel his eyes on me. I wanted to tell him the truth and tell him I chose him but I was scared of losing him.
"Y/N?" He sat up too, setting his hand on my back. I peaked at him to see him worried and eyes full of care. Turning out to look into the rain, trying to gather the courage I needed. I took a big breath. "Are you alright?"
"I have chosen." I said.
"Can I ask who?" He asked softly.
"Yes."
"Then who..." I turned, grabbing his face. I pulled his lips to mine and he made a noise of surprise. I kept my eyes closed, waiting for his response. My heart ignited in my chest when he began to kiss me back. His arms wrapped around me and softly pulled me with him as he laid back. I laid on top of him on his chest.
"I choose you Lo'ak." I whispered as I pulled away. I propped myself Up with one hand. He looked up at me with starry eyes. He seemed to be in another world beneath me. '"Lo'ak?" His eyes focused and met mine with a determined glint. He cupped my face while pushing himself up. His lips met mine eagerly as if I were the air he needed to breathe. I moaned against his lips as he pulled me into his lap.
"I choose you too." He said as he pulled away, breathless. We were both breathing heavily, chests brushing against each other with every breath. I felt tears well up again but this time with happiness. I giggled and hugged him tight. I felt his hands brush up my back before returning the hug.
We sat there for a few minutes, enjoying each other's presence before I pulled away. He took my hand, smiling from ear to ear. I giggled at how adorable he was. I reached up and pulled the band holding his hair back out and smiled.
"You always liked it better down, didn't you?" I nodded.
"But it looks good no matter the way." I run my fingers through his hair before trailing my hand down to place it over his heart. "Oel Ngati Kamele, Lo'ak." He sucked in a breath before copying my movements.
"Oel Ngati Kamele, Y/N." He said softly but sincerely. A loud clap of thunder spooked us out of our moment. Lo'ak clutched me to his chest as the rain began to come down harder and the Storm got worse.
"I think it's best if we stay here for a while." I suggested. He nodded quickly. He pulled us deeper into the bedding before laying us down again.
"I'm going to let my dad know, so he doesn't freak out." He said while reaching for the communicator on his neck.
"Good idea."
~Time Skip~
I sat on my knees in the small meadow. I looked around, taking everything in. All the memories me and Lo'ak have made here running through my mind. I clutched the windchimes Lo'ak had made right after we declared this place ours to my chest. The birds, the water, and my sniffling was the only thing that could be heard now.
"Yawne..." I turned to see Loak coming out from the brush, holding a big leaf away from his face. He had a sad look on his face that matched how I felt. "We must go now."
"Ok-nay..." A sob escaped my throat. I covered my mouth.
"Oh Y/N..." He came over quickly, kneeling and pulled my head to his chest. I cried, setting my hand above his heart. I could feel his breath shuddering. "I'm going to miss this place too. But you know we must go. You know that."
"I know. I know." I pulled back and he reached up to wipe my tears. He helped me up and noticed the windchimes in my hands. He smiled.
"Bringing a bit of this place with us?" I nodded. I leant against his side while looking around one more time.
"I hate the RDA sky people."
"Me too." He said before pulling me away. I longingly looked back Until it disappeared from sight. I hope one day we could come back but for now, Jake and the rest of the Sully's were waiting for us so we could seek uturu, away from the demons.

Book: Open Heart Characters: Tobias, Merida Rating: Teen Words: Approx. 1100 Summary: When Merida receives startling news, she hunts down the source to get answers. And he better hope he has the right ones. A/N: So, whenever we have our little "MOC" (Merida-Oliva-Casey) world stories, I always feel like Merida and Tobias have their own special friendship, their own little vibe. After the two tag-teamed trolling Ethan again in the last fic, I wanted to explore their dynamic a little more. An idea popped into my head, and I thought it would be fun. @lilyoffandoms (to whom the incredible Merida belongs), this one is for you.
Tumblr media
Merida stepped out of Edenbrook onto Boston’s busy streets with fire in her eyes. Ethan hadn’t realized he was setting the stunning resident off on a mission when he innocently uttered five words.
“I ran into Tobias at Derry’s...”  The unflappable doctor was brought to silence with just one stare. “Did I say something wrong?”
“Derry’s? He’s there now?”
“Yes, he...”
But Merida had already turned on her heel, waving off any further attempts at communication.
“I’ll be back," she muttered as she stomped out of the office and whisked down the hall... heaven help any fool who considered getting in her way. Derry’s was a fifteen-minute walk when strolling at a comfortable pace. But there was nothing comfortable about the way Merida’s designer heels carried her took double steps today, marching single-mindedly toward her target.
She pushed the coffee shop's door open with a brusque thrust, her eyes searching the crowded room for her prey. They narrowed with wicked delight when he was spotted. Mindlessly scrolling through his phone in the back of the cafe, Tobias was blissfully unaware that the sharp cadence of stilettos on the hardwood floor was heading directly for him. But there was no mistaking his friend’s presence when her well-manicured hand smacked the back of his head.
“Ow!” He startled, turning to see who the assailant was, but Merida had already claimed a seat on the other side of the table. Arms crossed in defiance, her demeanor demanded answers before she uttered a word.
“Mer?” he perplexed. “What the hell?”
“What?” she scoffed. Didn’t think it was me? Where did your mind go? A bitter ex? Perhaps a one-night stand you walked out on while they slept?”
Tobias shook his aching head with a gentle snort. “Maybe at one time... but not now. So, care to tell me what’s up before I file assault charges?”
“You’re dating her? For real, you're dating her?”
Tobias brought the coffee mug to his smirking lips, taking an exaggerated sip before fixing his eyes on Merida’s.
“Good news travels fast, I see.”
“Tobias, what the fuck? How could you?”
“How could I what? Date Casey? I thought you’d be thrilled.”
“Thrilled?”
“Yeah. I mean, she’s your best friend… I’m your friend. Honestly, I don’t know why you didn’t suggest this sooner. It’s perfect! Now, you don't have to worry about not liking whoever we end up with. We can have movie nights, go on double dates…I’m not seeing the bad part here.”
“The bad part is you’re my friend. Which means you’ve confided in me. Which means I know your track record. And no judgment from me, you should unabashedly do you... or whoever the hell else you want to do... but... Casey? She's over the moon happy thinking this is real, and if you fuck her over... so help me, I’ll kill you.”
Tobias leaned closer, hoping to assuage his friend. “Look, Mer... Casey is...”
“Casey’s incredible!” She jumped in. “I know! I don’t blame you for wanting her. But what happens when you go your usual week and a half and then tire of her? I’m telling you now, I’ll be taking her side, not yours... and that will be the end of this beautiful friendship.”
Tobias sat back defensively. “And what makes you think I’ll tire of her in a week and a half?”
 “Please, Carrick,” Merida mocked. “I know you. What’s your record, two weeks? Three tops?”
“Actually, wiseass, I’ve gone a whole month in the past.”
“Wow! I stand corrected!” Dropping her shoulders, Merida let out a cleansing sigh, continuing with a softer approach. “Seriously, Tobias. The two of you mean so much to me... did you have to date her? I mean, we all work together?”
“Oh!” He barked. “OK, and you and Ramsey, don’t?”
“That’s different!”
“Different, how?”
“Can we circle back to your illustrious reputation when it comes to matters of the heart... and groin?”
“You know, I’m hurt, Mer,” he replied, and she couldn’t tell if he was being serious. “You know me better than most; I thought you knew I’m more than that.”
“I do,” she empathized. “But let’s be honest... you’re that, too. And look, Casey’s a big girl; I know she can take care of herself. If she wants a ride on the Tobias train, so be it. But you had to see her when she told me. She had "that look". She's so happy, and when this inevitably ends, I don’t want our whole friend group to be in tatters.”
Tobias was grinning from ear to ear. “She had “that look”, huh?”
“Can you focus!”
“I am. But who says it’s ending?” He broke off a piece of his bagel, casually popping it in his mouth with an impish smile. “I’m not as stupid as I look. Casey and I knew that if we got together and things didn’t go well, the damage could reverberate beyond us, and neither of us wanted that. That’s why we decided to keep our relationship on the down low until we were sure, and now that we are...”
“Wait just a second,” she cut in. “What?”
“We’ve been dating for months. Casey’s not some conquest, and you know I don’t play games... I love her, Mer... and for some crazy reason, she loves me back. This is the real thing.”
Tobias had to stop himself from laughing as an astonished Merida sunk back into her chair, hand reaching up to cover her gaping mouth.
“Come to think of it, neither of you have told me about any dates or hotties you spotted at the bar for at least...” she counted back in her head.
“For at least four months. Yeah, that’s when we started seeing each other. Honestly, I’m a little disappointed in you, pal. A diagnostician as good as you should have picked up on this.”
As she reached over the table to playfully smack her friend, she noted the sincerity in his eyes. Tobias Carrick could easily fool many, but never Merida. She could read him like a book.
“You’re really serious. You love Casey?”
“I’m freaking crazy about her."
Jumping from her seat, she rounded the table to give Tobias a hug. “Oh my God! You and Casey! My bestie and my dear friend! My bestie and my boyfriend's bestie... are in love!”
“Yeah, pretty wild, right? Does this make us, like, metamours or something?”
Merida shot him a sarcastic look. “I don’t know. Are you and Ethan fucking without my knowledge?”
“No, we're not,” Tobias laughed. “I guess you’re right. I mean, just to confirm, you’re not sleeping with Casey either, right?"
“Babe, please!” Merida snorted. “If Casey and I had gone that route, I assure you, you would never have been a consideration."
“Of that, I have no doubt. So, do you feel better now?”
“A little,” she grinned. “But you should buy me breakfast for the mental duress you’ve caused me, at the beginning of the day, no less!”
“ME! You should be picking up my tab so I don't file assault charges on you!"
“Tobias, if I had intended to assault you, you'd be sitting in the ER by now."
“So,” Tobias winked. “We good?”
“We’re better than good. This is so exciting! Does Ethan know yet?"
"No, I was going to tell him today."
"Great! Because we're going on a double date this weekend. I’ll make all the arrangements.”
“Do you seriously think he’s ready for that?”
“Oh, hell no. But the man will have to acclimate.”

I choose you
Tumblr media
Pairing: Miles Socorro “Spider” x male Na'vi reader
Pronouns used: he/him
Words: 2k
Warnings: swearing, nightmare
Tumblr media
“Dude, are you for real?” Lo'ak hopped beside his friend, probably more excited than he was. “Yes, I passed all the tests.” (M/n) sighed but smiled, as if that wasn’t the tenth time he was asked that question today. “That’s soo cool! I mean… you’re officially an adult now, right? You’re allowed to do everything that an adult can do?” “Yes.” Lo'ak paused, thinking. “Even choosing a mate?” Of course, that was the first thing a hormone driven teenager would think about. Only for a second (M/n) stopped in his tracks, gritting his teeth at the stinging feeling that bubbled up in his chest. “Yes.” He continued walking so that Lo'ak wouldn’t notice his sudden change in mood. “But I don’t want to.”, he added after a moment of consideration.
“Huh? Why? Do you mean like for now or…?” “Probably never.”, the older boy answered his question. “But why?” Lo'ak didn’t notice how uncomfortable he made his friend with his questions, completely taken over by his curiosity. “Just like I said: I don’t want to.” Lo'ak was curious but not stupid and he took the hint of (M/n) not wanting to talk about it. “And you can hunt with the adults now?” (M/n) nodded, glad Lo'ak finally let go of the topic. He knew that the younger boy would have many more questions, but just then they arrived at the village. “I should get going now. My dad will probably want to see me.”, he excused himself. “Okay. He is the type of dad who will actually be proud of you!” He mumbled the last part to himself. “See you later!”
(M/n) lied. He knew his dad was proud of him because he had already talked to him. And just like Lo'ak he had questioned his son about choosing a mate. It annoyed him to a point where he couldn’t find words to describe it anymore. He climbed a tree, enjoying the fresh breeze of air as he ran and swung himself from one tree to another, mindlessly escaping the village and its stupid traditions. No, they weren’t stupid. He was. It didn’t take him long to reach the spot he would always come to. He didn’t even have to think about it on his way there. Carefully, he got off of the tree and sat down under it. Shivers ran down his spine as soon as his clear mind was flooded with thoughts again. Thoughts he didn’t want to think right now. He just needed a break. The wind swayed the grass in a peaceful rhythm, some creatures chirping and munching around him in the deep forest. (M/n) closed his eyes, trying to concentrate only on that. Soon his mind was clear again and he slipped into a light sleep.
Laugher echoed through the forest. (M/n) had to run awkwardly slow, like chasing a child only pretending to go at full speed. He sensed the grass and branches under his bare feet and felt free at the feeling of wind blowing his hair back. “Faster old man, come on, I’m right here!” He knew the voice but the person it belonged to was still a little too far away to see. “Hey, I’m not that old!”, he laughed, pushing some vines out of his way. He heard the fading tapping of feet on wet grass, but still no sight of any creature.
“(M/n).” He turned around at the voice that called for him. “(M/n), come here my boy.” Curiously, he followed the call, nearly forgetting the game of tag he was just playing. Just a few meters behind some trees, he saw the big statue of his father standing in a clearing. “Dad? What do you want here? What… what is going on?” The man looked at him with a warm smile. Only then he noticed the other people standing behind him. “Dad?” “Aren’t they beautiful?” (M/n) took a few steps forward, confused by the situation. There, right in front of him was a group of girls, at least twenty or more. One of them came towards him, placed a hand on his cheek and smiled, the same honey sweet smile his dad gave him seconds ago. He felt like that sweet honey was drowning him. That feeling got more intense as more and more of the women came in his direction, surrounding him, trapping him in their sweet circle of madness. “No!”, he mumbled, pushing them away from him. He shielded his body with his arms, evading every hand that reached for him longingly. “No, I don’t want any of them!”
Just as he said that, young male hunters appeared in the crowd flexing their muscles or showing off their weapons with that smile. The type of smile he hated more than anything. It was that type of smile that said “come here, I know what’s best for you”. “It’s your choice.”, his father’s voice sounded through the chaos. “Dad, make it stop. Make it stop, please dad!”, he whined, desperately trying to escape it all. “All you have to do is choose.” “Please dad, no! I don’t want to.” The crowd came closer and closer, lulling him in their sweet fake smiles. “Choose.” “You don’t understand, you don’t-“ Why wouldn’t he listen to him? “Choose!”
“Please dad, please no.” “(M/n).” “No, I can’t.” “(M/n).” “Make it stop, I can’t breathe!” His voice was nothing more than a quiet mutter. “(M/n), you can. Wake up, please!” “What?” His hand touched something soft. All he could hear was a rapid heart beat and heavy breaths. Still his ears felt like under water. “You’re drowning me!” “(M/n), please!” The voice sounded worried and somewhat far away. But it was coming closer. He felt a weight on his chest and something cold on his cheek. With a gasp for air he opened his eyes. Everything was blurry. “It was Spider! He ran away, he’s still somewhere-…” “(M/n), calm down, I’m right here!”
The weight on his chest shifted. (M/n) blinked. He still couldn’t quite grasp what was real and what was not. His hands were trembling, but he got a hold of the softness he felt earlier. And it grounded him. His heartbeat calmed and he slowly got more and more aware of his environment. He was half laying in the grass, leaning against a tree. When his eyes started to focus again, he could identify the weight on his body as a human figure. It was Spider, who had grabbed his wrist and placed his big blue hand on his small head. The boy was staring at him with huge eyes, a somewhat shocked expression on his face that faded as he realised that he had brought (M/n) back to reality. Now he just stared at him worriedly. “It’s okay, I’m right here.”, he repeated. He pressed his ear against the Na'vi’s chest, listening to his heartbeat calming down. He almost cursed the exopack that was now kinda uncomfortable and in his way, but for a matter of fact it was keeping him alive so he better shouldn’t complain.
Spider didn’t know if he should ask (M/n) what that dream was about. For the moment he was just glad that he was the one who found him, even though he didn’t like the sight of (M/n) wincing and trembling in his sleep. Also he couldn’t remember that something like that had happened before, so something must really bother him. He was ripped out of his thoughts as a pair of strong blue arms wrapped themselves around his body. Hesitantly, he propped his chin up on the big chest and raised his gaze up to (M/n), but the boy had closed his eyes again.
While Spider just lied there, not knowing what to do, (M/n) absorbed his presence with all his being. “Do you want to talk about it?”, the human asked, a hint of insecurity sounded in his voice. (M/n) opened his eyes slightly and Spider put on a crooked smile. It was warm. Really warm, not that fake honey smile that was haunting his dreams. And (M/n) felt safe. “I passed the tests.” His throat was sore. He gulped. The Na'vi boy forced a smile onto his face. It was bitter and Spider noticed. “That’s great!”, he tried restrained. “Uh-huh.” “I’m proud of you?” (M/n) sighed. Spider tried to sit up on his stomach, but the heavy arms on his back prevented him from doing so. “Sorry.”
The Na'vi lifted his arms, freeing Spider who got up just to sit back down next to him. “What’s wrong?”, he asked, looking at the other boy with observant eyes. “Nothing really. It- it’s stupid!” He laughed awkwardly. “No, it’s not. If it’s bothering you we can talk about it, maybe I can help you sort things out?” When (M/n) didn’t answer he continued with another question. “Is it what your dream was about?” A faint blush creeped up on (M/n)’s cheeks. “I told you it’s stupid!” Now it was Spider’s turn to wait for the other to go on. “It’s just- everyone is bugging me about finding a mate, now that I’m a ‘grown-up’ and I-… you know…” “Oh.”, was all he murmured in response. His foot started tapping rhythms on the floor and he shifted around uncomfortably. “And have you already found any good options?”, he added, fidgeting with his fingers. “Ooh, not you too!”, (M/n) huffed in annoyance, but he wasn’t really mad at the boy beside him. He was just avoiding his gaze. “You know I’m not going to choose any of them!”
Spider’s sweaty hands unclenched. The peak of hope he felt was immediately washed away by the amount of guilt he felt for it. “Do you mean you’re gonna tell them?” Now he was the one who avoided the other’s gaze. (M/n) lifted his hand, combing his four fingers through Spider’s dark blonde braids in thought. The boy tilted his head against his shoulder, leaning into the touch. “I don’t know. Neytiri is gonna kill you.” “No, she isn’t!”, Spider laughed, amused by (M/n)’s dramatic comment but not fully convinced by his own words. “What about your father?” “He still has my sister, so he can shut up about not having any descendants.”, he responded without really thinking about the weight of his words. Yet the human boy blushed madly at the careless comment. “I don’t want to hold you back from anything though. If I’m in your folk’s way we should- ugh!” (M/n)’s sudden movement pushed the air out of his lungs.
“They and their stupid traditions can fuck off! I’ve already chosen someone, so there’s no need for me to find a mate. Yeah, we can’t bond but who cares? I fucking love you and no one is gonna get in the way of that!” Spider stared at him with wide eyes. He had said the three words. Well, four words but he ignored the swearing in the confession. “I-I…”, he stuttered, not finding the right words to say. “Wow, okay.” Just then (M/n) realised what he had said. “By Eywa, I’m so sorry, I… I shouldn’t have said that, I know it’s too early, I didn’t mean to catch you off guard like that, I…” The boy interrupted his ramble by crawling on his lap and pressing his soft smaller lips on his. (M/n)’s eyes widened and he quickly pushed the other one away. “Spider, what are you doing?! Your mask, we’re not in the lab!”
He took the mask out of his hands and pushed it back onto his face, struggling to close it behind his head with his big fingers. Luckily Spider helped him and closed the straps with a click. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, his head spinning like crazy. But it was merely because of the high levels of carbon dioxide in the air, more because of the amount of feelings rushing through his body even though that wasn’t their first kiss. “I’m sorry!”, he said laughing. Now it was him who apologised. He couldn’t hide the wide smile that spread on his cheeks. “I just needed to kiss you so bad I couldn’t help it! And it shut you up so…” The blue skinned boy looked at him with a reproving expression but soon joined in his laughter. The whole situation was so stupid and now he was almost ashamed to have seen things so seriously before. “Does that mean you’ve chosen me?” “Of course it does, idiot!”, (M/n) chuckled. “Great, ‘cause I’d like to choose you too!” Spider buried his head in the blue chest to hide his blush. A hand gently stroked his head. “Then we’ll manage everything else.”

SOMETIME IN 2001 - FEBRUARY
Sam sat across the room from you, his chair far in the back and to the left whereas you sat to the front…you had pulled the short straw. You found yourself turning around every now and then, locking eyes across the room, trying to get him to laugh. He was in one of his bad moods today, hair in front of his eyes and hood up. You and Dean had pretty much accepted the fact that you’d be moving around alot, your families working together as hunters but Sam wasn’t as happy about it. He didn’t want to leave again.
“Y/N,” the teacher began and you spun back around, eyes wide. “Eyes on the front please, Sam doesn’t need you distracting him.” You nodded and got back to work, though you could feel Sam’s gaze burning on the back of your head.
You had known Sam for as long as you could remember, the two of you used to share toys while your parents were out hunting with John. He was always a shy kid, but this year seemed to be the worst of it. Maybe he was going through a phase.
Class finally ended and you packed up your books before heading to the back of the class, kneeling down and leaning against Sam’s desk. He looked up and smiled, muttering a quiet, “hi.” you grinned and grabbed his bag, watching as he pushed the hair away from his eyes (it had been longer than usual lately).
“Are you still upset about moving again?” You asked, walking alongside him, his hand gently holding yours. Sam sighed, shaking his head as you made your way out of the school and toward the same motel you had been staying for the past few months.
He ran his spare hand through his hair. “It’s just…we’ve just got comfortable here. I’ve actually made friends that aren’t you or Dean. I just wish we never-.” He stopped himself short. It was a stupid thing to wish.
“I know,” You replied. He wished his family weren’t hunters. You both stopped in front of his door, staring at each other silently. It wouldn’t be long before Dean got back and started his relentless teasing, so with one final goodbye, you went your separate ways.
That evening was wholly uneventful, an hour or two of homework, some research for your dad then the sweet and familiar feeling of zoning out while listening to Deftones on your hard motel bed. ‘Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want.’ had just faded out when there was a gentle knock on the door, one you recognised. You opened the door and took in the smiling sight of your best friend. He was wearing an oversized tee with a blue dog on it that you had given him and a pair of pyjama bottoms. He looked much more comfortable than he felt.
Sam had been building up his courage since the beginning of the year and, knowing the both of you would still be on the case when it rolled around, he wanted to ask you to prom. Even if it were just as a friend.
“Hey Sammy,” you smiled and stepped to the side to let him in, noticing how he was fiddling with the strings of his pyjamas. He was nervous. “You ok?” It was a simple question, but from the look on his face you would’ve assumed you had asked him to marry you.
He laughed slightly and scratched the back of his neck, replying, “all good, just wanted to come chat!” He smiled awkwardly. God, he thought, he was already blushing. He sat across from you, slightly wet hair brushed to the side and fluttering eyes locked on yours.
You laughed at his nerves but pressed play on your music again, turning the volume down so ‘when the sun hits’ could gently sit underneath your conversation.
“Y’know,” he began, hands fidgeting, “We’re gonna be in Oregon until spring, which means we’ll actually graduate this time.” he spoke, voice soft and wavering. “So um-”
He cut himself off, not knowing how to ask. He had wanted to do something nicer, get you flowers or something, but it hadn’t exactly gone to plan (that and Dean had told him to do it now before he got too nervous). You put your hand on his to stop it from shaking and urged him to keep talking and he smiled so softly you could’ve imagined it.
He breathed out before speaking again, “I was thinking we could go to prom? Together?” You went still. That’s what he had been nervous about.
“As friends?”
He seemed to shrink. “Uhm, yeah, if that’s what you’d want.” Sam was downtrodden, though he had expected you to take it this way, it still stung.
You smiled gently. “I’d love to go with you, but maybe not as just…friends.”
He looked up, confused for a moment. You had said yes. Blush bit at his ears as he fought the urge to get up and physically jump for joy. “I’d like that.” He managed to get out before standing again, you joining him by the door.
“I should probably head back, dad will be wondering where I am.” Though you both knew the statement wasn’t true at all, you agreed and let him walk out the door.
“Sam.”
He spun back around on his heel and you stepped closer, placing a kiss on his cheek. To him, it felt so gentle, like the breeze gently brushing his face, but it still brought up a blush so aggressive it felt like he was on fire.
SOMETIME IN 2001 - PROM
It was a few weeks before graduation, which meant it was prom night. You were sat in your motel room, in the nicest outfit you could find for cheap, waiting for Sam to finish getting ready. Since asking you to prom, the two of you had spent every waking moment together though you weren’t, as Dean would say, official yet (despite being only a label away from it).
Eventually, he walked out of the bathroom in a simple navy suit, one that matched your own outfit almost perfectly. You had both found them by chance in separate thrift stores and found yourself extremely lucky when they not only fit, but matched. “You look so handsome.” you said as he fiddled with his tie, trying to get it to sit right. Eventually, he gave up and gave you a look of desperation, asking you to do it for him with his eyes alone.
His gaze never left you as you fixed the tie, gentle hands righting the knot. Sam had planned tonight out to a tee: Dean was going to drive the both of you in their dad’s impala and then he’d get permission to take three (which was masterfully negotiated down from ten by Sam) photos. Then, he’d link his arm in yours like a gentleman and walk you into the gym. From there, his dancing skills took charge.
Each part of the plan went well and it was the middle of the night before either of you took a break to get a drink. There was a tired flush on both of your faces and a glint in Sam’s eyes you hadn’t seen since you were young. It was there, the two of you were sat when ‘your song’ came on. The song Sam had asked you to prom with (though it was more of a coincidence).
The boy took your hand gently and led you to the dancefloor again, his hands finding a place on your hips. You wrapped your arms around his neck and swayed gently, humming along to the song and staring into Sam’s eyes. The night was perfect.
Or would’ve been.
There was an impossibly loud crash and both you and Sam stared at each other in a split-second of recognition before the gymnasium went dark. Screams erupted from the crowd but the two of you stayed calm, quickly retrieving your respective silver blades that John had forced you to keep that night. Sam was furious. John had promised he would chase the monster in the opposite direction. The man had lied. In the panic, the two of you had been separated and you knew better than to call out for him in the dark school corridor.
You had prepared for this, trained. But you had never actually fought a monster before. Your hands shook from fear and tears glistened on your cheeks as you gingerly made your way down the hall. Your only lightsource was the large, dirty skylight that sat at the far end of the hallway and you found yourself glad - for the first time ever - that it was a full moon. Light trickled through the glass, fragmenting when a crack or some growing mould got in its path.
There was a growl from behind you and you stiffened, chills running down your spine. You turned slowly, eyes shut tight. You weren’t meant to be scared, you had been taught to not be afraid - so why couldn’t you find it in you to be brave. Your eyes opened and locked with the werewolf that was a mere centimetre from you now.
You gripped the blade with a sweaty palm and shoved it forward, piercing through the monster’s heart, though not before it could bring its claws down across your face. You both cried out and fell to the ground, you clutching your face and the werewolf growing still. “Y/N!” Sam called out as he sprinted over. Within a second, his hand was under your head and he was cradling you close to him.
Sam was hurt too, grazes littering his skin and a cut pulling at his lip - though he found that unimportant compared to the overwhelming amount of blood that seeped from your face.
“You’re ok.” He whispered, “You’ll be ok.”
THAT EVENING
You leaned against Sam as he got the first aid kit ready, having previously cleaned his own injuries as quickly as he could. Tears mixed with the blood on your face and Sam had to fight not to cry too, he hated seeing you hurt. “This is going to hurt, Y/n/n,” He began, eyes wrought with sympathy and a dusting of tears, “I’m so sorry.” he whispered and you nodded, preparing yourself. He moved his spare hand to the least injured part of your cheek for both control and comfort then gently let the alcohol John had provided trickle over your injuries.
You let your hand rest on his forearm, his mint breath fanning your face as you held in your tears with sharp breaths. “I killed them.” You whispered and Sam looked at you in empathy. He knew exactly how you felt. He didn’t want to shush you, (he didn’t know why people did that) he knew you needed to cry - but at the same time he didn’t want you to feel guilty.
“He was going to kill you. You did the right thing.”
You sighed, breathing shaky from the tears that stuck in your throat. “It doesn’t feel like that.” Sam stopped what he was doing and pulled away, eyes meeting yours.
He smiled gently. “You saved so many people, Y/n. no one in there would have been as brave as you.” Sam whispered and you nodded, finally finding it in yourself to agree with him. He gave you a break from cleaning the injury for a while and you got a better chance to look at him.
There were rips in his tux, some tinged with deep red stains and his previously white shirt was littered with mud stains. Cuts littered his arms and face while a particularly vicious bruise was slowly forming on his jawline. Despite all of this, he still looked handsome - you found it difficult to look away.
He knew what he was doing well enough, sanitise everything, clean the wound and then pray you didn’t need stitches - still, he couldn’t stop the anxiety from filling his mind. Sam was gentle, it was just who he was. Soft, caring hands worked quickly and lovingly while he muttered words of comfort. You were incredibly lucky, the wound was mostly superficial.
Both you and Sam sighed in relief as he placed the butterfly closure tape to each major point of the scratch mark. “See,” he whispered, “Told you you’d be ok.”
You smiled, careful not to tug at the cuts and leaned in, wrapping your arms around him. Sam’s hands found a home in your hair and he gently ran his hands through it as he sighed in comfort. “I’ll always be here for you, Y/n/n.” he whispered, voice strong, honest. You found it easy to believe him.

We arrived back in The Cut in record time, pulling up to the pier at the end of the front yard of The Chateau. I faintly recalled John B had phoned Pope on the journey over, and after the phone call, the mood in the boat had taken an even graver turn.
The other's got off the boat and started tying it to the dock, whilst JJ held a hand out for me. I took it gratefully. Even though we may have both agreed that we were both only friends and we had said our goodbyes to our old relationship, he was still someone that I trusted implicitly and felt comfortable and safe around.
We started the slow march up to The Chateau, passing by the unlit hot tub that I hadn't a chance to ask anyone about. The lights were dim in my home, but I welcomed the sight of it. I still hadn't said a word. The day had taken its toll on me; reliving everything that had happened with my mother, and subsequently going through the violence at Rafe's hands, I had nothing more to say. The others hadn't asked me any questions, but I knew it would come.
And then there he was. Opening the front door to the small house, was John B. He stood on the top step, staring down at us all. There was his dark cast and his black eye, both courtesy of Topper, but now I knew better. His real injury was inside, thanks to Ward.
Ward Cameron had killed John B's dad. My uncle.
John B came down the steps slowly, and then wrapped his arms around me. The night was dark around us, and my hair covered my cheek. John B had been through enough today. I didn't need him to see what had happened to me. Besides, it was all my own fault. I had trusted Rafe. I had fallen in love with him and given myself to him, only for it all to be cast away like a line into the water.
John B smelled like home and sweat and fear, but I hugged him, nonetheless. He was my family and would never have hurt Ward without good reason.
"Come on, let's go in," he whispered, but the others heard him.
"I have to get home, John B. My pops will kill me if I'm gone any longer," Pope said.
"My parents too," Kie muttered. I wanted to envy them both for having parents who cared about them enough to worry, but right now I couldn't even find it in myself to do that. JJ and John B muttered their goodbyes, promising to meet the next day.
And then we were in The Chateau, and someone had flicked on the lights. My face was in full view. JJ stared at me, and John B let me go, stepping back to take me in. I had never felt so scrutinised but I knew what they were seeing - a bruised and swollen cheek, a cut on my cheekbone, cuts on my hands and arms from the shattered window, bruises on my jaw. The bite mark on my shoulder. I stared at the ground, ashamed.
The silence was deafening. Finally, the boys broke it.
"What the fuck happened to you, Avery?" John B breathed. "Who did this?"
I looked up at both of them. John B was furious, his cheeks red and his jaw tight but JJ looked disgusted. He was swallowing hard. I remembered his words about Rafe.
"I trust you, Avery. And I don't trust him. But I believe you."
"I appreciate that. You don't know how much I appreciate that, JJ. I mean it. And please can you keep this to yourself for now. I don't need John B losing his shit with me - you know how overprotective he can be."
"Only as long as he seems like he is treating you well. The second something is wrong; I tell the others."
I said nothing. So JJ said it for me. "Rafe Cameron did this to her."
"Excuse me? Rafe?" John B's words were so quiet I could scarcely hear him, the anger lowering his tone. But despite JJ's protective gaze, he didn't hold back.
"Avery has been seeing Rafe since she came to the island."
"You have?" John B spat, but he wasn't looking at me. Suddenly he rushed at JJ, shoving his shoulders. "You knew? Look at what he did to my fucking cousin!"
I finally snapped to my senses and rushed between them. JJ was taking John B's anger, accepting it. "He only found out yesterday, I swear, John B!"
John B was gripping the front of JJ's shirt but he looked at me. "Rafe Cameron? Avery, how could you be so stupid?"
"Don't call me stupid!" I screeched. "You've been dating Sarah Cameron."
He laughed humourlessly. "Sarah would never hurt me, Avery! Do not compare the two."
I deflated. "I know, I'm not saying that at all. And I know that I've been stupid. I never thought that he would hurt me." Even now, the part of me that loved Rafe wanted to stop and defend him.
"Well he did! Look at your face!"
"I know, John B-"
"Leave her alone, man. If I thought he was hurting her, I would have put a stop to it. Do you think I want to see her like this?"
John B let him go with a small shove and continued to look at me. "What happened?"
What could I say? Tell him everything from the beginning or only from today? It was easily decided. John B would not want to hear the ins and outs of my relationship.
"I was with Rafe this morning, wanting to apologise for a fight that we'd had, but when I got there, there were drugs and cans of beer on his table." I moved to sit down on the threadworn sofa, not wanting to look at either of them. I needed space to breathe. "I ignored it, and we made up, but then he started doing drugs in front of me, and he changed. He suddenly became more violent, and he tried to-"
I stopped talking, taking a deep breath. JJ sat next to me, placing his hand over my cut-up one. John B took the wicker chair next to the sofa, his fists clenched in barely suppressed rage.
"What did he do?" he asked through clenched teeth.
I shook my head, tears coursing down my cheeks. Had I not cried enough today? "He tried to make me have sex with him, saying he had some sort of ownership over me. Then his Dad phoned, stopping him." I looked up at John B, but his eyes had fallen to my shoulder, to the bite mark that Rafe had left on my skin.
"That must have been after the boat trip, once Ward was home."
I nodded. "Rafe told me that you were at the Cameron House and that you were injured. He told me that I should go with him. Despite everything I did. I tried to convince him to let me go alone, and taunted him but he didn't give in. It only made him angrier."
"What did you say?"
John B and I were close enough that I told him. "I told him that I was intimate with someone else in the last week."
JJ's grip on my hand tightened. He knew it was him.
"He hit me because he was so angry, and Ward did nothing to stop them. Then they brought me inside, and Ward told me that you were unstable and had attacked him because you thought he had killed Uncle John." John B opened his mouth, but I continued. "I told him that I didn't believe him and accused him of doing it. He basically admitted it to me, and told me that no one would believe us over him, that he has the police on his side. Then Rafe took me upstairs and locked me in his room."
They didn't need to know the conversation that Rafe and I had afterwards about my mother and her boyfriend.
"Kie showed up and broke the window to get me out."
JJ ran his thumb over the cuts on my hands. John B was silent, looking between us. "You two aren't together?"
I stared at him, shocked. "No, bro," JJ said quickly.
"I always thought that you were sneaking around behind my back," said John B, but he didn't seem angry at the thought. But then again, comparing JJ to Rafe who had clearly hurt me, was like comparing a small innocent fish to a shark.
"JJ and I have been together in the past. But not anymore." I sighed. "I love Rafe."
John B stood up, the chair flying backwards behind him. "No, you don't."
"I fell in love with him, John B. I couldn't help it."
"But you can't love him now, Avery. Look at what he did to you!"
"It's not that simple and you know it. You've fallen in love with Sarah Cameron."
He said nothing, but I had observed how he had talked about her over the past week. He had fallen for her hard and clearly was not going to deny it.
"She is nothing to me now. She's with her family."
"She wasn't there when Ward and Rafe trapped me, John B. I don't even know if she knows."
"It's true, bro," said JJ, and I glanced at him. He met my stare. "We were watching the house when Rafe brought you home. John B had already found us and told us everything, so we wanted to see what Ward was up to. When Rafe drove in with you, we saw everything. I wanted to rush in there and kill him but Pope stopped me. Warned me to be smart."
They saw Rafe hit me. They saw him pick me up and take me into his house screaming.
"We saw him with you through his bedroom window. He didn't look like he was hurting you at the time, but after what we'd seen downstairs, we knew we had to get you out. We had to wait until dark, and Kie went home to grab the hammer to break the window." As an afterthought, JJ added, "nothing else happened in his room, did it?"
"No. Nothing else." Nothing that they needed to know.
"I'm so sorry that this happened to you, Avi."
Finally, he was calling me Avi. The name settled me, a name JJ had started calling me years ago and everyone else had started to use. Suddenly shattered, I leant back against JJ. His arms wrapped around me tenderly. I just wanted to sleep, to forget everything.
"Get some rest, Avi. One of us will take watch in case the cops show up. We'll figure everything else out tomorrow."
I let John B pull a blanket over me, not wanting to relinquish the warmth that JJ was providing and go to my empty bedroom. My eyes fluttered shut, and I nuzzled against his chest. Minutes and minutes passed in silence, neither boy moving and I wanted to apologise to them for being the barer of all of this bad news and upsetting them. But my mind was finally quieting down, knowing I was safe with the two boys next to me. JJ lifted his shoulder slightly, and I could tell that he was testing if I was asleep or not. I didn't move, not wanting to leave him.
"Bro," JJ whispered. "I am going to kill him."
"Not if I get to him first. How dare he do this to her," John B muttered. "I should have been there."
"You couldn't have done anything. He hit her because of me anyway. All because he knew about the two of us."
"Don't blame yourself, JJ. Rafe is unhinged."
I felt, rather than saw JJ nodding. "You didn't see how he was looking at her, like she was an object. Like he wanted to hurt her. He isn't stable, man."
"No he's not. And he will never go near her again. Not if I can help it," John B spat lowly.
JJ's chest was warm, but his heart was beating erratically. "What if she wants to go back to him. She loves him. She said it herself today, and to me yesterday."
"Not happening. I'll tie her up and have one of us watch her day and night if that's what it takes. You told me that he was holding her throat at the OBX night. And now this? What if next time it's even worse. He'll kill her."
"I know, bro, I know." JJ's hand was on my hair, stroking lightly. "We'll keep her safe. We all will. And you too. Ward and Rafe won't get away with this. What about Sarah?"
A sigh left my cousin's mouth. "I don't know about her. She is loyal to her family, but I don't think that she knows what her dad did to mine. I trust her, but I need to know."
"Why don't you go and try to speak to her?"
"And leave Avi?"
"I'll keep her safe. You know that I'd give my life for her."
"I wish she'd fallen in love with you. Then we wouldn't be here."
"I do love her, you know? And she does love me."
There was a pause as John B's mind mulled over JJ's words. "You might," he whispered. "But not in the way that matters now."
And then I finally drifted away, falling asleep to the sounds of their familiar voices, their concern for me palpable. I was only full of regret for the pain that I was causing them, how badly my words had affected them. I had never wanted to bring pain to my friend's but I had done it now, and I couldn't take it back.
Now we only needed to prove Ward's guilt in the death of my Uncle, and after that, I could worry about Rafe.
~~~
The next morning was the worst I had ever woken up feeling. I was still on the sofa, and JJ had positioned us so that I was lying tucked into his side. John B was asleep on the same wicker chair.
So much for someone staying on guard for the cops. I sat up quickly, ignoring the pain in my cheek as I did so. The room was the same as we had left it last night. The only thing different was that John B now had a jacket and shoes on. Had he gone out? As I moved, he slowly opened his eyes.
"Good morning, sunshine," he muttered, and stretched his long limbs out. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine," I mumbled. JJ started to stir under me.
"What time is it?" he asked without opening his eyes.
"Early," John B replied. Then there was a knock at the door. We all sat up abruptly, JJ positioning himself in front of me. I didn't know what I was more frightened of; the police coming to take John B away, or Rafe coming for me.
"Guys!"
It was Kiara. She then let herself in and I watched as her eyes zeroed in on all of us, before landing on my face. I imagined that my cheek was still swollen and looked worse in the morning light.
"So far there is no news about John B. I'm surprised that the police haven't tried here already."
"They did yesterday, but I guess they thought I wasn't dumb enough to come back."
"Never underestimate just how dumb us Pogues can be," JJ chimed in. Kiara sat on one of the dining chairs, pulling it towards us.
"What's the plan?" she asked.
"I honestly have no idea," John B breathed. "How can I prove my innocence? And what are we going to do about the gold?"
I snapped up. "The gold? What happened to the gold?"
They all exchanged glances. "Avery, you went through so much yesterday, we didn't want to add to it. But the Cameron's got the gold. Ward beat us too it. Which was why I was so mad at Sarah yesterday. I assume she told him."
"I can't believe it," I mumbled.
"I spoke to her last night after you both fell asleep. She said that she didn't tell him anything, that she had no idea how her dad knew."
"Do you believe her?"
John B pondered this and I watched as he did so. He finally nodded. "I don't think that she told her dad about the gold. But I still don't know just how loyal she is to her family. She loves her father, and I think she cares for Rafe." He glanced over at me and I looked away. "But she wouldn't betray us."
With that, there was nothing more to say. No one knew what we could do to retrieve the gold now that Ward owned the Crain House, and had his guys collecting what should have been our treasure.
It was only a couple of hours later, after pitching idea after idea, all that would fail and we knew it, that we found ourselves on the dock at the end of The Chateau's front yard. I had showered off yesterday's events, and was now comfortable in a simple green plaid button up shirt over loose blue denim shorts, covering my cut arms and most importantly, the mark on my shoulder. John B was led on the wooden slates, Kiara sat on the step and JJ on the wooden railing that looked over the bay. I was next to him, staring down at the waves, taking in the relaxing sounds and doing everything to forget just how badly things had gone in the past twenty-four hours. Not just for me, but for us all.
"Guys! Guys!"
We all turned and saw Pope sprinting down the pier towards us. He was in a fitted suit, one that I assumed he had warn to his college interview. He was sweating and took a second to catch his breath as he finally stopped in front of us.
"You all right?" I said, turning to face him.
"How was the interview?"
"Don't ask," Pope grumbled. "But I need to talk to you. All of you."
We all moved to gather around him, John B almost reluctantly. I knew that he was taking the loss of the gold the hardest. It was almost like he had been trying to reclaim a piece of his father back, and it had been snatched away from him.
"What is it?" JJ said, placing a hand on Pope's shoulder.
I looked at my friends. Everyone was lost at our loss of the gold, but both JJ and Kiara still held out hope. They were far more optimistic than me and my cousin.
"So, before I had my interview, my dad said he was going down to the private airstrip to cut palms for Cameron's big plane. Because it was too heavy, it needed a longer landing strip to take off. So, I'm there sitting in my interview, thinking to myself, hm. Why would Cameron need a longer airstrip to take off? What could be so heavy to weigh it down?"
"Gold."
"Exactly. Guys, this is our chance, but it leaves tonight, and we have to go."
The shift of energy was immediate. Even John B sat up, and looked at us, taking us in like the leader he was.
"Let's steal that shit back."
So we ran. We all bundled into The Twinkie and John B expertly drove straight to the aforementioned airstrip. I had no idea where it was, but guessed that it was on Figure Eight, and I was right. We pulled up behind a grove of trees and John B jumped straight out, the rest of us behind him. Stopping us from entering the airstrip was a thin chain-link fence. My cousin pulled a pair of binoculars from his bag and looked on.
Even without them, we could see everything. I watched a men that Ward must have hired loaded the plane with boxes of our gold.
And then a car pulled up, and out stepped Ward and Sarah.
"It's Sarah," John B whispered. We all watched on; although I couldn't hear what Sarah was saying, it was clear that she was confused. She kept stopping the workers and pointing at the boxes, ignoring her father who was tugging at her arm.
And then he grabbed her. He lifted her clear off the ground and started dragging her onto the plane. As Ward pulled his daughter onto the plane, John B turned and sprinted back to The Twinkie. Before any of us could stop him, he started the engine and started driving straight towards the fence. We all dived out of the way as he cleared it, the van bursting through it effortlessly.
The plane had started as John B drove towards it, and I watched, waiting for him to slow down, to avoid being hit by the plane that could easily kill him. But he didn't.
"Ward will kill him," I whispered. "JOHN B!"
I couldn't stand and wait for the impact, and watch as my cousin died. I had already experienced this, after he fell from the Hawks Nest. For the seconds before I could see that his chest had been moving, I thought that he was dead. I wasn't going to do it again.
I ran after him, through the gap in the fence, ignoring the calls from my friends.
Kiara and Pope couldn't get themselves in trouble, their parents cared too much and would send them away. JJ was already on bail, and couldn't be caught doing anything wrong again.
But I had nothing to lose. So I ignored them, sprinting after the Twinkie and towards whatever would happen next.
IDIA || an Avatar story (x Neteyam)
Tumblr media
Chapter 5
Masterlist
(English Na'vi)
I woke to Neytiri shaking me awake, and not in a particularly pleasant way.
"Wake up, lazy. It is time for breakfast," She scowled.
I was not used to waking up without an alarm clock. I was a heavy sleeper, so the sun did nothing to rouse me.
Jake walked over with an apologetic smile and handed me a bowl of something resembling cut up fruit. I matched his smile with one of gratitude.
"Today, Tonowari's kids and their friends are going to show you all how to ride an ilu. Except you, Tuk, but you still get to meet the ilus in the nursery. I want you all to do your best. Tie your hands to the damn saddle if you have to, but we have to succeed here," Jake ordered.
"I still can't swim," I pointed out. Jake's face flashed a look of frustration.
"I know," he sighed, "Kiri, Neteyam, after breakfast you will take Idia out and teach her to swim. Just... teach her enough so that she doesn't drown today."
I knew I should have been embarrassed but I was too busy being terrified. I did not, under any circumstances, want to find myself back in the water. Though, that's kind of impossible as a newly identified reef person.
I trusted Kiri, at least, not to let me die. She was too kind-hearted and devoted to Eywa.
Breakfast was over too soon and we set out to the beach.
"Okay, there's no drop off here. It only gets deeper gradually. Meaning, you're less likely to drown," Kiri tried to reassure me.
"Right." My voice was tight and small in my throat.
We headed out to chest height in the water. Kiri showed me the motion I should make with my arms and taught me how to push back and forth instead of up and down with my feet. Neteyam didn't say a word to me and for some inexplicable reason, it hurt.
"Your form is looking alright. I think we should head out a little deeper," She finally decided. My heart was absolutely hammering, but I followed her deeper until only my toes were skimming the floor and then nothing was touching the floor.
But then my head went under. I was splashing up a storm, making a fool of myself to anyone nearby.
It was the same as before. I didn't float or tread or swim. I sunk.
Right away, Kiri's skinny fingers wrapped around my forearm and dragged be back to shore until we were back at shoulder height.
I was breathing raggedly, and not from being under very long.
"Idia, you almost had it! You just need to remember to go slow and steady with your movements, and not to thrash," Kiri encouraged.
My breathing only became harder and harder. Before I could control my body, I was speeding back towards the shore. Kiri grabbed my shoulder and spun me around to face her.
"Hey, breathe, breathe. In and out." After I took a few guided breaths, she tilted her head to the side dramatically. "Did you really think I was going to let you drown?"
Yes, because I had been drowning my whole life. Nobody could be trusted to pull me up, because nobody had ever bat at eye at my thrashing before.
I didn't say that, though.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Kiri, but I can't do it."
Neteyam opened his mouth to speak, but my pent up anger towards his behavior made me cut him off, "I know, I know. I'm a failure. Don't remind me."
I didn't let either of them get out another word before I was back on dry land and basically stomping myself away.
My next decision was to find Jake and convince him to not make me learn to swim. I could learn to weave, cook food, make clothes. Anything but swimming.
"You can't live here and not swim. Sorry, Idia, but it's necessary." He concluded. I didn't even respond to that, and moved a step up to Tonowari who was standing right beside him. I had caught them just before they started a hunting consult.
"Olo'ektan, please. I can't swim. I'll do anything else, anything on land. Please, give me the job no one else wants, and I'll do it."
Jake looked so pissed that I had disregarded him in front of Tonowari that his expression actually sent a chill down my spine.
"Child." Tonowari seemed to sense my distress, and his tone softened. "Come, let us talk. I think you need it."
We headed away from the group. (Thank Eywa, I think Jake was a few seconds away from actually strangling me). He took a seat under a large Pandorian palm tree and patted for me to sit beside him, which I obeyed.
"I can learn any skill you want, I promise I can pick up things fast. Just... not swimming," I swore to him.
"What are you so afraid of?"
"Drowning, for one."
"No. You know what I mean. You have no trust."
"I have trust."
He gave me a look that said 'knock it off'.
I sighed. "I can't trust any of them. Neytiri would have me killed if it were up to her, the kids despise me, and Jake sees me as only a problem." Something about his sturdy features made me open up maybe too much. "None of them care about me, they never have. In fact, no one ever has."
He seemed pleased with this confession. "Someone would have had to. You couldn't have made it to teenagerhood without someone."
"I lived in a human lab, Olo'ektan. It is too easy in those places to survive without living."
"Oh, child... Your life has really not had any love, has it?"
"No, I suppose not."
"Come, we will find my daughter. She saved you from my son before, correct? Thus she can be trusted to save you again. She will teach you. Sounds logical?"
I was taken aback by his accuracy of the event with Ao'nung. "What? No, your son put me in no danger. Tsireya pulled me out, yes, but I'm sure Ao'nung would've-"
"Do not lie to your Olo'ektan. I know my son." There was no arguing with that.
We did as he said, and he dropped me off with Tsireya who was helping Tuk feed a juvenile ilu.
"So, your own clan couldn't teach you either?" She laughed. She continued to joke with a smile, "Ao'nung might've been right, maybe you are a bad learner."
For the third time in two days, I approached the water's edge. Before even trying to go over technique, Tsireya made me do something called a trust fall. I remember watching Kiri and Lo'ak doing this once for fun, and laughing as Kiri stepped aside and let Lo'ak fall flat on his back.
"Just stay stiff and fall back. I will catch you." She stated.
I tried, but chickened out. Then again, then again.
"Look at me, Idia." She pressed our foreheads together. "I see you, okay? Do you see me?"
"Yeah, I see you."
"No, you don't. You need to really see me. I am not going to let you fall. It will not happen. I will not let you get hurt, okay?"
I took in a deep breath and visualized her catching me. "Yes, okay. I see you, Tsireya."
I turned around and fell, and she caught me just like she said she would.
She smiled, "Good. Now let's get in the water."
I showed her my technique and she praised me for it. "Kiri said I need to stay steady in my movements, and not to thrash," I explained.
"Yes, she's right. Don't panic. If you go down, I will pull you up. The water is your friend, it is not going to hurt you."
I took some deep inhales through my nose to calm my heart. "I'm ready, I think."
We made our way out to neck height.
"I've got you. I see you, and I've got you. Now, step to the side, and stay calm. Feel the water around you. Use it to keep you up."
Stepping to the side to where the bottom was out of reach, I began to slowly swish my limbs. I went down a little bit, but I turned my chin up and kept my head above the surface with the force of my cupped hands moving. "Am I doing it?"
I couldn't hear very well because my ears were underwater, but I heard her shout, "Faster!" so I moved my limbs at a quicker pace. And wouldn't you know it, my head came all the way out of the water.
"You're treading water, oh my Eywa! We've got to show my dad, he'll be so proud of you. Jake, too!"
Proud of me? Those words were brand new to my vocabulary. It ignited something deep in the pit of my being. Something... happy?
She helped me back to where my toes could touch, and we were both grinning like idiots.
"I don't want to bother him, Tsireya, he's the Olo'ektan!"
"Don't be crazy. He'll be so happy to see your success!"
"Does this... uh, does this make us friends, now?" I asked, genuinely unknowingly. I had never really known people my age who were allowed to and wanted to engage with me.
"Of course it does, silly. As long as you want it to?" She questioned, to which I rapidly nodded. "Good. Now come on, let's go find them."
Norm wouldn't believe it; I had actually made a friend.
I'm so sorry, but I just can't get enough of demon King ichiro fake. So how would their domestic life be like?( I promise you I will stop for more parts)
Demon King! Ichiro with Angel! GN!s/o General HC
Tumblr media
GNreader, possessive! Ichiro, fluff, wholesome stuff; part 1, part 2;
-After you not only accept his offer and move to your new bedroom, but also accept his feelings, Ichiro gets bolder again.
-But of course he's very careful now. Finally, when the most desired person, his, only his angel was so close to him again, the last thing that he wanted to do is to scare you away.
-So in the beginning of your relationship he wouldn't be that touchy, acting pretty collected around you. Only when you two are all alone, Ichiro would risk and tickle your forehead or arm with a quick kiss.
-Even with his possessiveness, he still wants you to enjoy your new house, and by that he means not only Lord's Castle, but the whole underworld too.
-"S/o, how are you, my dear?" - Despite always knocking before peeking inside your room, and always asking about your well-being, today's Ichiro looked more excited than usual. - "I just thought about a little walk together.. What do you think?"
-So, sometimes he would take you on small dates outside the walls of his residence. Most of the time you just admire landscapes of his land from the cozy cabin of the carriage, but sometimes he just wants to walk with you in the forest all alone or enjoy good weather on the beach.
-But of course, all your little walks are only in his presence, and only with his hands in your own, or maybe on the waist or the shoulder if a mood is more romantic.
-Not only because he's still so jealous and possessive, but also because he doesn't want you to get in trouble. You're still new in his world, after all.
-Also, there is a chance that some civilians still can't accept the fact that their Lord is now officially with an angel. You're not a married couple yet, but still.. There's gonna be haters.
-And Ichiro doesn't care how many of them there are, he would hunt down every one and punish them properly, just to let everyone know how much he appreciates you.
-Maybe his prestige would fall, it's not as important as your presence in his life. He's a young Lord, after all, he's the stronger creature in this sinful, dark world. So don't you worry about your safety, as you always have a loyal body guardian around you.
-But when Ichiro is too busy with his business, you just stay in your room. Despite giving you much more freedom now, he didn't remove some rules, such as don't talk with anyone beside him and just a few of his closest servants, don't leave your room without notifying him.. And, of course, no friends.
-It's just.. The way he kisses you so passionately, rolling his tongue over and around your own, pushing it as deeply into your mouth as he can, the way the warmth of your body tickles his chest when he holds you tight in his embrace.. It's all making him go feral all over again, lighting up this mania in the pit of his stomach.
-But then your soft hands on his face as you cup his cheeks so tender, blessing him with a soft kiss, then your shining eyes, filling him with such light, pure feeling of calmness.. It turns all his passion upside down, changing into something more gentle and less wild.
-So slowly, as time passes and this bond between you two would get stronger, Ichiro would let his guard down. Let you visit some parts of his Castle without him, such as the library or the inner garden.
-"Oh? And I wonder where did my sweet angel fly to.." - a soft chuckle behind interrupts you from making a wreath of daisies. Ichiro stepped closer and got down on one knee, to kiss the back of your head. - "Will you make another one for me too..?"
-Daisies. The innocence, sincere joy are the first things that come to mind when you look at these simple yet so beautiful flowers.
-So Ichiro really loves to call you not only 'his angel', but 'daisy' too. You're like a fragile flower that lures all his attention, this purity of your soul raises and refines his mind, dragging this sensitive part of him from the depth of his soul.
-Cause, despite being little the ruler of the underworld, the young Lord was such a softie deep inside. Sometimes even small things can make him all red and sweaty, as he can't even look at your eyes. It was just a little kiss on his forehead, but what a bashful reaction..!
-Well, because all this wild but blind affection, even if it's wrapped around his heart so tight, never would compare to sincere feelings that you show so easily and softly. And teaching him to do the same, and oh what a diligent student Ichiro is!
-Slowly pressing his lips to your in some long, delicate kiss why no one sees your hugging figures. Even your skin feels like smooth flower petals and your scent is so subtle and warm, as Ichiro just can't have enough of this tickle wave in his stomach that only your touch makes him feel.
-"Just one more kiss, please, s/o.." - who would know that the Demon Lord himself can ask so shyly about something so simple? - "Just one.."
-It's like his terrifying obsession now turns into some sort of needy clinginess. In front of his subordinates he's so harsh and cold, making serious decisions and being cruel but fair. And only all alone with you he allows himself to show his true soft nature that bloomed after your affection.
-And if in the beginning of your relationship you both spend more time in front of his servants, like dining in the big luxurious room of his castle or enjoying a hot day on the balcony, around his guardians, then now more often Ichiro's prefer to make a much smaller dinner in your room. But just how much more pleasant it is, when he can let himself be feeded from your hands like that..! Or not control himself and just lick this small drop of cream on your cheek after you eat your dessert.
-And it's just a start.. Oh, how much more pleasing soft things would you open to him, that resonates in his heart with a big wave of new love. A new definition of passion, love and care.
Monster attack
this was a thing that me and my friend nighty have been bouncing idea about for abit before we worked on the story together so go check out my friends page: @nightmareunleashed54-blog
so before u go onto the story if you're wanting context to what happens in the story id recommend giving scared fox part 5 a quick read as this story takes place a day after it:
anyways onto the story its a long one but i hope yous enjoy what me and nighty put together:
Everyone was already doing their own thing. Fredbear was just sitting on the stage still feeling bad and upset at what he had done the other day. Springbonnie, still worried about him, sat down right beside him. Springbonnie: "How are you feeling today...?" All Fredbear did was look down still with his ears down avoiding her gaze. Fredbear: "I....don't know anymore.....I don't think I will ever be alright again...i almost killed Evan, i can still taste his blood" Thinking deeply again on what to say she finally had an idea. Springbonnie: "Here I will go get you some soothing sweet tea...it will help at least for a little" Getting up looking back at fredbear before walking to the kitchen trying to keep her hopes up. as she's close to the kitchen she sees Marionette by the kitchen door with his back against the wall and arms crossed. Marionette: "How is he feeling today?" Springbonnie: "Sadly he still feels the same...." Marionette: I see...well you two have a goodnight. Just came to check up on things, also security and lefty will be along shortly to help with anything" Springbonnie: "Thank you, and we will don't worry" Marionette walked off as springbonnie went into the kitchen. She poured the tea into the cup and a thought popped into her mind of her old diary that possibly had the old spell, springbonnie: i could try the spell again to reseal it...but i don't wanna harm him" she said to herself. As she searched for the book she had to stop as fredbears scream in pain rang in her ears. Rushing out the door of the kitchen to see Fredbear, Still sitting on the stage with a horrified look on his face staring at his claws growing longer and darker. Springbonnie ran to Fredbear so she could try and comfort him. Fredbear: "You need.....to go! Please I don't want to hurt you" Holding his head in pain, springbonnie still holding onto him. Springbonnie: "I'm not leaving you like this!" seeing his teeth growing longer. But before she could try something else he pushed her away. Holding his head roaring before looking straight at her.
In Horror springbonnie took a step back ....knowing what has become of her love. Nightmare fredbear stepped closer showing his sharp teeth laughing. Nightmare fredbear: "What's the matter my love? Became too much for you to bear? Don't worry, I will be paying back your kindness now. By Making sure you live a little bit longer after I break you more." But before springbonnie could say anything, he started his attack trying to hit her. She kept dodging his attacks the best she could hopping about the room, but sadly knowing her love is gone kept playing though her mind distracting her, Until she took a misstep.... Before she knew it, His hand went straight through her stomach. Holding onto his arm for dear life, looking him straight into his eye. For the last thing she saw was his pretty blue eye now turning into a sinister red. Right before he pulled his hand and arm straight out, causing blood to come right out of her mouth before falling onto the cold floor.
Nightmare fredbear laughed standing over the critically wounded rabbit, nightmare fredbear:" aww what happened to that feisty rabbit I used to hunt all those years ago?, doesn't matter now we have guests arriving about now so be a good rabbit and be bait". The golden bear walked off out of springbonnie's line of sight. She could only guess he was hiding in the many shadows, then the front door opened and 2 voices spoke ???:"spring, Fred we're here...." it was security and lefty, springbonnie felt happy that help was here but scared as they were gonna be attacked. After calling out security and lefty where shocked at the mess of the place, their eyes traced along the mess leading them to see springbonnie lying on the floor bleeding, security: "oh no spring don't worry I'm coming" the demon started his run to the rabbit, lefty: "Security wait danger might still be around" lefty ran after his partner. lefty was halfway across the room when his vision was blocked as someone grabbed his head and quickly and forcefully slammed him into a wall, lefty growled in pain and was dazed abit but snapped back when he saw the threat walking towards security with bloody claws ready to do harm, seeing the fear on security's face awoke something burning in lefty, He growled running  and pounced on the golden bear and sank his teeth into the bears neck, the golden bear roared in pain and began to thrash about trying to get the demon off him leaving security alone to tend to springbonnie wound the best he can.
 Bending down to his knees to reach down to springbonnie, before putting his hand over Springbonnie's wound making a bright light come out of his hand. Security puppet: "PLEASE! Hang on spring...I can't lose you! I...I....need you..idk what to do.... What will I do without you! Please try sticking with me" Tears started to pour out of his eyes making his vision blurry. Spring lifted up her hand to his face bringing a sense of calm to him. Springbonnie: "How much you have grown, mother is so proud of you... ...to all your brother's....I will forever be with you..even in your darkest times. I love you...and I am so proud to have watched you and your brothers grow." Security looked down to her face and cleaned the tears off so he could see. Springbonnie: "You have to be strong....for them. You are going to do great things..I promise" Her hand fell right onto the ground before one last tear came out of her eye. The life she was full of is now gone. Security started to tear up again before resting his head on her crying his eyes out.
After thrashing about for abit n,fredbear managed to grab a hold on lefty and threw him off, regaining his balance after the throw lefty looked at n,fredbear angrily and spat out a large amount of the demon bears blood and bracing himself for further attacks, while getting a better look at the demon in front of him n,fredbear had to do a slight double take at the boys appearance and a smile appeared when a thought came to his mind, n,fredbear:" such an interesting discovery, I'm sure nightmare will be Intrigued about this", lefty saw the bear lost in his thoughts and took his chance to attack, once he was close enough he raised his hand and with all his strength clawed across n,fredbears face, this caused the bear to snap out of thought and also took the chance to bite down on leftys arm causing lefty to stumble back in pain holding his arm. This small moment allowed n,fredbear to grab lefty by the neck and pin him to the wall, n,fredbear: "aww such a shame you're an inexperienced demon I'd love for our fight to be longer but I have places to be, but I still have abit of time to torture you and kill your pathetic friend", lefty growled loudly in anger from hearing what n,fredbear said. He was about to say something back but another voice interrupted him, ???:"you'll be doing no such thing to them", both lefty and n,fredbead looked towards the front entrance and there stood Marionette with strings coming off his fingers ready for a fight.
An almost silence filled the room, the only noise being the growling between the 3 demons and the quiet crying of security in the back, marionette and n,fredbear where locked in a stare down waiting for the other to make a move allowing lefty to shuffle abit and bite down on n,fredbears hand. The bear roared and let lefty go in shock, lefty took the opportunity to run over to security to comfort him leaving marionette to handle n,fredbear from there, upon seeing lefty at a safe distance marionette without missing a beat lunged at n,fredbear lashing the demonic bear with his strings leaving huge scars with each attack, leaving n,fredbear unable to attack back. Only able to block the incoming attacks, knowing he doesn't have the strength at the moment to fight back. N,Fredbear waited for a lull in marionettes attacks to flee into the shadows. Marionette tried to stop him from fleeing but to no avail. N,Fredbear escaped, after calming down now that the threat is gone, marionette took a few deep breaths readying himself for the scene that's behind him. He has to be strong not for the moment but for his brother who needs him, marionette turned around and went to security and embraced him in a hug allowing his younger brother to let out all his emotions, he then looked over to lefty and used his strings to bring him over into the hug too, marionette: "he needs you as well, and thank you for keeping him safe till I arrived" he tightened his hug a bit on both the boys, marionette: "lefty take security back to Henrys and also let him know of the tragedy here, I'll prepare springs body for travel and burial" lefty silently nodded and began guiding security to the door, marionette turned and kneeled down to springbonnie's lifeless body and closed her emerald green eyes, marionette: "I'm sorry I didn't stay longer to save you, I'll miss you as a mentor and a mother figure, good bye spring may your spirit find peace" after saying his goodbyes marionette stopped the bleeding from the body and used the red curtains to cover her. Once done he moved to the entrance and waited for Henry to arrive and to guard the location one last time.
Five Things I love about you
I have made a discovery about myself. I already liked Darlin a lot as a character. (All the possible character development!!) so spy me writing more for Darlin. Also this is just my perspective on them, and while I try to keep it close to canon, most authors project just a tiny bit.
CW: Angst and angsty fluff... some normal fluff too, Quinn related memories, spoilers for “Going all the way with your Vampire mate”
NOW I GOTTA GO LISTEN THE NEW DAVEY AUDIO SINCE I STAYED HOME TODAY CAUSE I’M SICK!
Redacted Masterlist
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Sam was one of those people who were predictable. He was so different from Quinn. Which was funny since they both technically had old blood running through their veins and had been turned. Not that Darlin would ever bring that up. It would just hurt Sam. They didn’t want to do that. But while they just sat on their couch staring at nothing and everything at the same time, they couldn’t help but think of Sam. Was this what the rest of their pack had to deal with when taking a mate? It was damn distracting.
But comparing Sam to any of the other kinds of relationships that Darlin had been in made the vampire nearly a saint. Wolf pack excluded because they were pretty nice too. Not that it left Darlin with many choices. They had always had a hard time forming bonds with anyone, friends or otherwise. They curled into more of a ball on their couch.
Quinn had tried to cut them off from their pack. It hadn’t been very difficult since Darlin was already not really tied to them. His words had pushed Darlin into a trance as much as his eyes could. It had been so easy to believe the words that Quinn had put out. Or maybe Darlin had just wanted to believe them. Quinn hadn’t cared if Darlin got hurt. Maybe he had just obtained some sick pleasure at seeing a wolf as strong as Darlin getting hurt.
Darlin could feel themself spiraling downwards with every thought of Quinn. They stood up, ignoring the ache their muscles gave them. They had paused their hunt of Quinn per David’s request, but if they happened to be wandering around and came across him that couldn’t count as actively searching him out. They had overdone it today. But the shifter had too much pride to favor their aching joints. They walked over to their coat hanging by their front door and dug through one of the pockets. Their hand closed around cold metal and they pulled the key from the pocket and stared down at the jagged cut designs. It was just a piece of metal. There were millions that served the same type of purpose. But they could still remember it.
They had meant it when they had assured Sam that it wasn’t too long outside while they waited for him to come back after the Inversion. The first night they had spent with Sam that hadn’t just been cuddles. So many things had happened that night, Darlin was sure it would be burned into their memory. Sam had seemed so calm as he had dug through a drawer in the kitchen. He had just held the key out with a gentle “here”. Darlin had stared at him for a moment. Sure, they already thought of Sam as their mate. They had started thinking of him as that before they had reunited with their pack. It was hard to think of the fact that was so long ago now. But wasn’t that a big step in a relationship? Milo, David, and Asher already lived with their mates, but they had been with their mates far longer than Darlin and Sam had been together.
Darlin moved back over to their couch, eyes still staring down at the key. They would rather fight those two vampires than admit to Sam that looking at the key helped them calm down. It was like a physical representation of Sam’s trust. Trust was important to both of them. Respecting boundaries. They looked around their apartment. Before they had met Sam the space used to be so sparse. Random knick knacks here and there and some necessities. Now it looked like it was a home. Sam had changed so much about Darlin, and in a good way. It was a nice realization.
Darlin spread out on the couch, stretching along it. They let their head tip back over the arm on one side of the furniture. They loved Sam. They had already told him that, and he had returned the sentiment. He had told them they felt like home, which just seemed like a more poetic way of phrasing it. And the southern vamp had tried telling Darlin he wasn’t a poet. There were so many things about Sam that Darlin loved. They made him feel like home. But if they could shorten it down, how would they do it?
They loved Sam Collins for five main things.
One. He knew they were strong. It wasn’t a thing that would always lead to trouble like David tended to view it. Or at least that’s how the alpha expressed it. Sure, Sam worried about Darlin. But he had faith in their strength. And somehow he was able to treat them like glass when they needed it without making it seem like he didn’t have faith in that. Darlin wanted Sam to believe that they would try to protect him. They couldn’t protect him from Alexis as much as they regret that. They didn’t even know about each other back then. And Darlin hadn’t been able to protect Sam from the Inversion.
Two. He didn’t make assumptions. Especially when it came to healing. Darlin had been healed dozens of times throughout their life. But the way he healed them was different from how Marie or any other healer did. It had nothing to do with magic technicalities. It had to do with the fact that he didn’t make assumptions. Other healers assumed you wanted to be healed if you went to her. Which wasn’t incorrect. But Sam didn’t make any kind of assumptions, asking if he could touch to heal every single thing. Darlin knew why of course, but that didn’t stop it from being sweet. Sam didn’t assume Darlin would be okay with David knowing the half of the story that he had been privy to when it came to Darlin’s return to Dahlia. He never assumed.
Three. He grounded them. Darlin was prone to acting before thinking, and Sam didn’t let them. He kept them safe. And when they were spiraling, he was able to help. Even if he didn’t realize it or wasn’t even here. The key was proof of that. He reminded them that they weren’t alone anymore. They had him now. They had a pack. Wolves were social creatures. Darlin wasn’t genuinely meant to be alone. They were supposed to be part of a pack. They were supposed to have a mate. There were exceptions to every rule of course, but Darlin wasn’t exempted from this. But Sam was always there for them. When they were being weighed down by all the memories, he was there to lift them up. When they were fidgety, needing to go out and just do something. He was there to help them get steady again. He was there to go out there with them and make sure they didn’t do something that could hurt them.
Four. His voice. It was such a superficial thing. But his voice was calming. Nearly everything had Darlin being wound up so high and tight it felt suffocating sometimes. But just hearing his slow careful way of talking had them relaxing. Sure, they pulled jokes about his voice, but it was one of the things they loved about him. Especially when he dished out the same level of shit that Darlin gave him. Hearing him call them out in such a comforting voice never failed to make Darlin want to laugh at him. There were times they had and the confused happy look on Sam’s face had just been another boost of serotonin. He calmed them down and made them happy so damn easily.
Five. His trust. He trusted Darlin with everything. He trust them with knowing what Quinn had done. He trusted them with knowing what Alexis had done. He trusted them with his home. And most of all, he trusted them with his heart. When Sam trusted someone, he trusted them wholeheartedly. Darlin had been tough to crack, they knew that. They had given information to Sam in bits and pieces and some of it had come from David instead of them. he had only seen them as a wolf after the Inversion for a few seconds. But Sam had trusted them and told them everything when he had felt like it. He told them the whole story of his turning in one sitting. He trusted Darlin not to push boundaries. Darlin would hold that trust close to their heart for as long as they lived.
Darlin pulled out their phone and opened Sam’s contact a silly little smile on their face because god damn it, they loved Sam Collins so fucking much.
Darlin🐺: Sam, I love you.
Cowboy Bat man❤: Darlin I swear if you’re bleeding out on your couch again, an “I love you” won’t save you from my lecture. And I love you too.
Epel felmier x childhood friend! Reader
Tumblr media
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today was epel's birthday and I decided since he can't come home and visit I'll come to him.
So now I'm stood infront of epels dorm with a small present bag. I am so nervous, I feel like a fish out of water everything here was so fancy, while I was in denim-shorts with a red flannle shirt and adorned on the back if my neck was a staw hat and Simple brown boots were on my feet caked in dirt and muck.
"Bonjour mademoiselle, how may I help you," a thick french voice asked. "Oh! Umm...,i'm y/n,jm looking for epel felmier,he's my friend"
"Ah! Of course,mon cheri, follow me" I nod and start following the figure. We enter fancy dorm "ehem!" I spin around to see a more fancier looking man with hair dyed purple at the end.
"Rook whyd you bring in a muck?" "Ah!, Roi de Poison, this is y/n, a friend of epel from his village"
This 'rou de poison' dude eyed me suspicious and slowly circled me. "Hmm, you do have good bone structure but you dotn look suitable enough to see epel right now in you're...state"
I send him a weird look. "Hey! I'm just dropping off gifts from us from hone then I'll be gon-"
"Sh! I won't hear it, rook, to the salon" he started to walk away and rook grabbed my arm draging me along behind him.
I was pulled into a seat infrotn of a vanity decorated with all kinda of make up.
"Rook, give me a hair brush and the hair spray" my hair was unbraided from its plat and a brush was draged through my hair.
My head was pulled back. "Keep you're head up," the dyed haired hissed pushing my head back up.
"So tell me,mon cheri, how come we didn't meet you when we visited?"rook asked curiously.
"Oh I was hunting some animals to feed mine plus other familys"
In the reflection I could see the one behind me grimace.
"Oh! You have a hunting group?" "Yeah we call it 'hunters of artimis' after the Greek god"
Rook nods.
"Now we've finished your hair...time for make up...oh the great seven please epel and sit still."
"Oh beautiful vil, they're from the same place, I'll say they'll be co-operative"
This new named vil person sat next to me and opened up a make up pallet.
"Tell me more about your hunter group, please mademoiselle"
"Well we use different wepons; bows,swords,spears and sometimes Poison in winter"
One side of my face was lightly grabbed and tilted.
"You've used Poison?" Vil asked Intriged now by our conversation.
"Yes, the alchemist make Poison that's harmless to humans but extremly deadly on animal
We don't tell the village about the alchemist but a small portion of the village is part of it"
He let out an odd chuckle. "Face me" he ordered.
I shuffle round and face vil as he starts on my left side. "How can a Poison be deadly to animals and not humans?" He asked.
"Well, we had done some test on dead trees that had animal remains on and we tried on some human bones..." I grimace with vil remembering the testing process "and human bones we bought from a neighbouring village who's culture is too sell the dead on
Then we added hyoblplical acid with HASIC2 ( i have no idea what that is i made it up) and got the results we needed"
I suddenly glinch as cold liquid was pressed on my face. "What was that?!" I panic moving back slightly. "Foundation, now come back closer I'm nowhere near done"
~~~~after all...that~~~~~~~
"Now you're outfit, rook something poofy or layed down"
"Hmm...I'd say poofy but not met-gala poofy, Roi de Poison"
He nods and grabs a few dresses from the rack. "Why... you know what never mind"
Considering this dorm I couldn't ask why they had dresses because nearly everyone here looks as a fem-boy (not that its a bad thing!!!)
I was unceremoniously pushed into a changing room. "Come out when you're done" vil ordered I sigh I just wanted to say happy birthday to epel, deliver gifts and go back home,not have a runway show.
I removed my clothes (and shoes) and slip into this fancy weird outdated dress. Slowly I step out aqwuardly "no," "no" "agreed"
This prossess happened til I just grabbed one at random and decided that is the one.
I close y eyes tightly and grab a dress hoping for the best.
My hand grabbed one that felt comfy in my hands and had no weird spinening. I open my eyes to see a lovely lilac dress
I put it on easily and step out. "Alright I'm open with a runway can I just see my friend?" I beg crossing my arms.
"Hmm, suits you well enough don't you agree rook?" "Oui"
A unrelated sigh left my lips and I grab my clothes from the changing room.
Rook took them and placed them in a bag "I'm sure these heels will fit fine"
I nod and slid them on. "Can I see epel now?"
"Yes,follow us" a exhausted groan left my mouth as I follow holding my stuff.
We ended in a ballroom filled either people chatting away in groups and food along one side of the room with drink on the other.
"Y/n?" My head darts around for that familiar voice. I lock eyes with epel. "Epel!" I yell running up to him full speed.
I lock arms around his neck as his lock aroudn my waist spinning me around.
When I was placed down a few 'awws' or cheering was heard.
"Y/n, baby, you look so Pomefiore like" he laughs. "Well someone found me when rook tried to take me to you and decided a fashion show was ideal" I laugh along pointing at vil.
Epels arms stayed around my waist with his head resting on my sholder.
Vil and rook aproched "so, epel, you baby potato are dating her, a potential model lf tried hard enough" I roll my eyes "you wish drama queen"
Third person;
Y/n laugh with epel "oh! I have to show ya the gardens there amazing!" Epel grabs his beloved hand and
I sigh taking in the moment and rest my head on epels chest. "I love you" i mumble "me too, my sweet apple"
As the clock struck midnight epel picked you up bridal style and carrier you inside.
"It appears baby potato has found love way before we knew rook" vil laughs.
(these are all from my drafts help)
