“Smells lovely,” Draco huffed, more air than words, ticklish in the crook of Harry’s neck. He was half hanging off him and half swaying to the non-music, wind outside and the hum of the oven and the crackling of firewood; Harry closed his eyes and smiled, overheated and slightly overwhelmed, and overjoyed, bursting with it.

“Sweetheart,” he said, not on purpose. Then, firmer, “Sweetheart,” pressing a kiss to the precious crown of his head, and another, and another, helpless to it, “sweetheart,” in this room that was too warm (oven and fire and Draco and dancing), in his arms, in, this, here.

“Yes,” Draco laughed, swaying him worse, dragging a lip up Harry’s neck, tiny little flutters of kisses, “sweet,” meaning the smell, probably, or the—whole of it. Starry-bright.

Harry wanted to say: you are, meaning the entire world, probably, but words were sticky and slow to come and kissing was closer anyway, so he took Draco’s chin in his palm and pressed their noses together, readying, ready, stopped there. Half-melted around the edges. Staggering, the way Draco looked at him sometimes.

“You,” Harry said, and swallowed what might have been a whine. He was so—happy, over-filled and buzzing, overrun with delight.

“I?”

Nodding, “You.”

Draco blinked, so near Harry could almost feel the movement on his own cheeks. His eyes were huge and somewhat blurry, grey and scorching-brilliant. “You too,” he said, arms slinging behind Harry’s neck, pulling even tighter. The crackle of fire and hum of the oven, the non-music of the night surrounded them like a blanket, gentle and warm. Overpowering.

The moon sang its crescent tune distantly overhead; Harry, long over it, leaned the last remaining inch between their lips, and the sigh just before the kiss was on its own so unbearably sweet.

I finally caught one of the livestreams last night (I'm in Canada so it's at like ass o'clock in the morning for me) and it made me so fuckin happy. Every time I catch clips of them on stage I'm reminded of just how much MCR means to me. I've carried them with me for over half of my life, their art has impacted me in ways I can't fully explain. I'm just so greatful to be here and to be alive to experience this alongside so many people who feel the same.

I just took my meds and also had coffee so It's Real Kvelling Hours™️ over here so ignore me if you find this sappy shit boring-

I used to get so embarrassed about saying shit like "This band saved my life" because I was scared of sounding cringey or obsessive, but they really did and I'm so fucking thankful. They helped me save myself, this community helped me save myself, and thanks to that I'm living a life I could have never imagined.

I remember being 12 years old, making my first emo little tumblr account and finding the MCR community. My friends and I making matching URLs and blog themes, sharing memes and making edits and just having so much fun. Throughout all the terrible, scary times I've been able to come back here and have a safe place to just engage in my special interest and find some peace. I might have grown apart from those friends, but this community has always felt like home to me so I don't exactly feel alone in it.

It's because of this community, as well as MCR's loud acceptance, support and welcoming of queer people that I've really learned how to be proud and unashamed of my queer identity. When I was in situations where I wasn't being accepted or treated fairly, it made that shit hurt far less knowing that there were so many good people out there like me, and that would support me. Now with all the scary shit going on in the world it's been really comforting to know that I still have this to turn to.

So basically thank you MCR for making art that's shaped me in ways I hold so close to my heart and will forever, Thank you MCR Community for existing alongside me and sharing this beautiful experience, we might not be perfect but I've felt safer here than I have any other fan space, and thank you Autism Brain for slapping me in the face repeatedly with this special interest for over a decade without a moment's rest you're the real MVP.

#lmao sorry for the ramble im just euphoric about being alive right now and after i caught the stream i was like #this is why #i really didnt intend to live this long but im extremely greatful that i did because after years and years of back to back trauma #and painful recovery #im finally living the best life i ever had #im about to go pick up my girlfriend who is the best partner ive ever had and also one of my best friends #yesterday i made a handful of new friends and connections at shul and ive found a wonderful jewish community in this city #ive made friends with someone who went through the same trauma as me at the hands of the same person and have found support and validation #as well as a really good friendship there #my friends are getting married and having kids and making beautiful art and sharing it with me #im making beautiful art and sharing it with my friends #ive also found a home in the local punk community and have been going to shows at sketchy little dive bars and basements and backyards #or just in parks downtown #im getting the surgeries i want for my transition and health and ive got a great medical team behind me and a new therapist and meds #that actually work for me #also my cat has just been such a clingy happy baby lately and is just the Sweetest little guy #life is good life is so fucking good and im so glad i decided to stay alive #if you needed a sign to stay alive this is it please #life can be so scary and awful and traumatic but there are beautiful things out there i promise #and sometimes they take a while and some effort to reach but its so fucking worth the wait and the work it takes to get here #community has played a huge part in that for me #humans can be really beautiful when they're loving and kind to others #anyway if you read all this congratulations we're best friends now thanks for watchinf me dissect my brain u can take some of it #and put it in a jar with some isopropyl alcohol :)

#so storytime: i went to a job interview today. it turned out to be a group interview but not one of those demonic ones where they make all #of you answer questions together and compete in a weird way #they literally just showed us around together and then i pretty much never saw the other two guys the rest of the morning #but. one of them was cute. but also Very familiar looking. i was like ‘i’m pretty sure he’s the younger brother of this girl i used to be in #love with 🧐’#same first name same approximate build same colouring and he lives in the same village #i only met him a couple of times when i was friends with her & it was ten years ago though. so i wasn’t sure #just figured it would be a hell of a coincidence if it wasn’t him lmao #but yeah. i checked fb just now and it was him. because of course it was #but even worse than that… he’s fucking married!!!!! jesus fucking christ #as i said before: who gets married?? who does that???#i thought he was too young but i’ve just realised he’s 25. i’m throwing myself off a cliff #obviously not really but like. they have cliffs there at my possible future workplace #OH and the interview went fine. i mean idk if i got it or not. literally at this point i just try not to stress #either they liked me or they didn’t. i tried to be myself and if i wasn’t any good at it then fine #i’ve got another interview next friday yesterday. so if i don’t get this job then i just have to prepare for that one #would looove to be done with jobhunting though. my god #personal

she's singing in another room and my dog is asleep at my feet. my grandma asked me why i haven't found a man yet and i laughed. oh, you know. i like my house clean.

my girlfriend is also my man is also "my partner" if i'm in a professional setting. yesterday we went to a ren faire and a man mimed at me - you're together? and at my delighted nod, his baffled, you're gay? made me laugh. a woman with rainbow hair said i love the two of you together. you're both so beautiful it's absurd.

my dad introduced my partner as my "..... friend. or whatever" the other day. he knows we're dating. in the same way, i was never able to get my sister's husband to stop saying that's gay like it's 2008. he still uses the word fa***t, and my sister's defense of him has always been well, he's just kidding.

my lover and i dance to old music in a tiny kitchen. we judge new music together and take food critique very seriously. we watch love is blind before we fall asleep and agree that if they had a queer season, it would be bloody but also make for excellent tv. of fucking course queer people would know someone for only 2 weeks and agree to get married. what are you saying.

at a bar with friends, a man puts his hand on my wrist. got a boyfriend? and yes, i do have a boyfriend, she's amazing. i am texting her while i wander around a gas station named after geese. i am visiting a swing state for a wedding. in the candy aisle i overhear: she's actually like a lesbian it's disgusting. two teenage girls with packaged sandwiches in their hands, giggling. no literally, like. i'm not, like. okay with her being there while we're all, like, naked and changing.

my girlfriend and i tailgate, drink gin and cider out of cups. from the frat group beside us, a man corrects himself with one of his friends: bro, i mean, nonbinary entity, and it makes everyone around him laugh, myself included. he razzes his friend the same way i would have killed for at 19 years old - like nothing happened, he continues: you apply sunscreen like an alien. he does a little sassy (and fairly accurate) dance interpretation of the motion. his friend is laughing so hard they're crying.

i am lucky, i live in a safe neighborhood in a safe state. my masc passenger princess comes up from DC. i drive her for an hour to where all the leaves are a violent arrangement of color. we walk along the trails, letting autumn into our blood. in this part of the state, there's a lot of pickup trucks and trump signs. when we chastely kiss before getting into the car, i accidentally make eye contact with a woman holding her child's wrist. she looks disgusted. she looks fucking pissed.

two hours later my girl and i are eating dinner on a patio, soaking in the last warmth of new england sun before the chill of winter sets in. we are giggling and trying to talk through plastic vampire teeth. at another table, i see a young woman sit up straighter. i watch her watch us. she blushes and takes her partner's hand from across the table. shy, like the taste of evening has just become something deeper.

it's worth it for this moment, i think. my lover is still humming the same song she's been singing for four days straight and i don't want to kill her for it. her guitar is beside my bed. her toothbrush is in my bathroom. in a few moments i will make us lunch. we are lucky enough to have found each other. it is lucky enough to be in love.

#me and kash were talking about smth last night #we both had mutual friends left or distanced when life got busier or harder but we can’t see each other doing that #for example one of our boys who is actually closer to him got married about a year ago & ever since he’s just become absent but he initiates #a Convo every few weeks then drops it #doesn’t wanna do anything not even meet up #and then there’s another who started to work (locally) and he’s just disappeared #and there’s another that had a small misunderstanding with one of us and last time we spoke he said he doesn’t want anything to do with #any of us loool crazy dramatic #I’ve tried to sort it out but none of them except me or kash actually put effort and energy into it #I’ve ever tried to sort a holiday for us all but no one’s showing real eagerness except us two 🥲🤣#and we were both just thinking yesterday imagine one of us gets married or has a misunderstanding with each other #are the motives gunna end? is the natural banter and energy gunna disappear #are we going to stop putting in effort just bc we have a busier job or a wife and or kids at home #he rolls us to my house at whatever time and we can just chill in the car for hours fr or go out for a meal or some tea and time flies by #is that all really gunna end lol #I want my kids to see him as their uncle fr and I’d want our (potential) wives to be locked fr like IDC you HAVE to be besties wym??#I don’t ever wanna be that guy that lets different circumstances change my relationships with my closest people #bc if a person or a circumstance can change who I am with him then it can change me entirely fr I hold him v close to me #same if not more than my siblings so if smth does change me ima have to remove it from my life 😂

#anecdotes from yesterday #we were practicing 4 talent show all day yesterday right. well it's 6 and the kids are hungry so i go make a costco run 2 pick up ten pizza #i come back and (i had taken off my walkie and handed it 2 my coworker) and instead of giving it to me like a normal person #she yanked me by the carabiner and clipped it on for me. and we are by no means attracted 2 each other but i think my brain took a snapshot #of that moment SGDJHFJDHFKGHDNDHFJGB #LIKE. Want to make a minor adjustment to my Steve With Much Older Siblings post from yesterday. I think it’d be a much more interesting dynamic if he’s actually their half sibling from an affair.

Their father had an affair with his secretary and then married her when she got pregnant. It broke up their family and they blamed Steve for it for years.

When they stayed over for their weekend with Dad, they were either outright cruel to him or pretended he didn’t exist. When they were old enough to stop coming over, they did.
