Fate Fanservant: Awilix, Forgotten Goddess of the Moon(Archer)
(Thanks to Erineas on Twitter for this fantastic commission!)
Ascension Stages:
First Stage: Dressed in a white shirt with silver, green and gold patterns, with red and white striped jeans. On her head is a black hat with a similar silver, green, and gold pattern, and over her shirt is a black poncho with repeating patterns of quetzals, jaguars, and eagles. Part of her white hair is pulled into a braid along the side of her head, and the rest is left to flow back freely. In her left hand is an atlatl, and in her right is a spear tipped with obsidian.
Second Stage: The poncho is replaced by a shorter quechquemitl, and a skirt and belt replaces the jeans. A crown of feathers sits atop her head, and a cloak of jaguar skin hangs over her back. Her shoulders, arms, and shins are covered with patterned armor, and part of her face is covered with a helmet that covers part of her eyes. The atlatl is replaced with a blowgun.
Final Stage: Her form has shifted from that of a human to a Nagual, in her case a were-jaguar with the spots resembling swirling galaxies. She retains both the cloak and the crown, but she eschews any weapons in favor of her teeth and claws. Her hair flows freely behind her, and her eyes glow a deep jade as a lunar eclipse hangs behind her.

Known as: Xbalanque, Auilix, Awilix-Yaxche, Goddess of Death, Queen of the Night Sky, Mayan Hero Twin, Goddess of Sickness, The Usurper Lostbelt King
Voice Actress: Mikako Kumatsu
Deck: QABBB
Parameters: Strength: B Endurance: A+ Agility: A++ Mana: B+ Luck: C NP: EX
Passive Skills:
Incarnation of the Sun and Moon A:
In legend, Awilix and her mortal incarnation Xbalanque were said to have embodied both the moon and the sun. As a goddess, Awilix was the queen of the night sky, with dominion over everything that happened underneath the cover of night. As a mortal, Xbalanque was given the name 'Hidden Jaguar Sun', and it is said that he and his brother Hunahpu became the sun and moon after their conquest of Xibalba.
After the death of her twin Tohil, Awilix became the living manifestation of both the moon and sun, controlling the path the celestial bodies take across the sky. Through Awilix, life begins and ends, and through Awilix, life prospers and collapses.
(FGO Effect:) -Increases own debuff resistance by 20%. -Increases party's debuff success rate by 8% while self is on the field.
Divinity of the Dead God A+:
After killing Ah Puch and the Twelve Lords of Xibalba, Awilix became the supreme goddess of death itself, holding complete dominion over the dead. Even a fellow Mesoamerican god of the dead, Xolotl, admitted that her power far surpassed his in this state, and the Lord of the Dead, Baron Samedi, noted that even as Grand Caster, his chances at winning a direct engagement were likely to end in Awilix's favor so long as she had the fame bonus in her home territory.
Indeed, so long as death exists as an idea, Awilix reigns supreme as the ruler of all that is dead.
(FGO Effect:) -Increases own damage by 280. -Increases damage against 'God of Death' enemies by 20% -Reduces damage taken by 'Undead' and 'Divine' enemies by 500.
Active Skills:
Pok-ta-Pok A+:
As well as having domain over sickness, death, and the moon, Awilix is the goddess of the Mesoamerican ballgame known as Pok-ta-Pok, or Pitz. Her human incarnation, Xbalanque, and his twin brother Hunahpu, were beloved by their town's people for their unmatched athleticism and talent at the game, with the sport even leading to them defeating the Twelve Lords of Xibalba in the end.
As a Servant, this physical prowess manifests as a near-perfect body befitting a divinity, an evolved form of the Natural Body skill. Awilix has a form that does not age, reflexes beyond mortal ken, and is immune to any curse, illness, or interference with said divinity. Such is the natural state of one of the Tohil.
Naturally, Awilix is proud of her physical form, and will take any time she can to brag about both it and her talent at Pok-ta-Pok.
(FGO Effect:) -Increases own Buster performance for 3 turns. -Reduces own damage taken for 5 attacks, 5 turns. -Grants self Debuff Immunity for 3 times, 5 turns. -Increases own buff removal resistance for 3 times, 5 turns.
Jaguar Sun Xibalba EX:
A divine force equal to that of Zeus's own Authority of Lightning. After consuming both Kukulkan and Ah Puch, Awilix gained complete authority over life and death itself, able to do the impossible and restructure the very foundation of the Mayan Lostbelt to her whim by raising Xibalba into the heavens as a mirror to the world of the living. Having Authority over the Sun, Moon, Stars, and Earth itself, Awilix has the ability to shape the very universe as she sees fit, overriding even the Authorities of her fellow gods Ixchel, Chaac, Huracan, and Jacawitz easily if she so chooses.
The main drawback to this immense level of power is that Awilix expends incredible amounts of energy when using her Authority, requiring blood sacrifices from the Mayan people in order to hold the Lostbelt together, effectively making Awilix the lynchpin that the Lostbelt needs to survive.
(FGO Effect:) -Reduce all enemies' NP Gauge by one. -Charges own NP Gauge. -Recovers own HP. -Increases own damage for 5 attacks, 5 turns.
You Shall Conquer All the Nations A+:
The Tohil were the three patron gods of the K'iche' empire of Qʼumarkaj, consisting of Tohil, god of the sun, Jacawitz, god of the mountains, and Awilix, goddess of the moon. Through the gods, the K'iche's were blessed with the gift of fire, and their kingdom expanded to great heights, and in return, the K'iche' offered sacrifices to the Tohil of flesh and blood.
But every empire is destined to fall, and even one blessed by the gods is no different. The K'iche' kingdom fell, from rebellion, from invasion, and from conversion. The great capital of Qʼumarkaj was razed to the ground, and its kings were burned alive as a message to the survivors. In their forms of stone statues, the Tohil could do nothing to stop as their very identities were erased from the scriptures by the Spanish, becoming a mere footnote in the history written by the Spanish.
It is for this reason that Awilix fights. To return the K'iche' people to an era of prosperity. To return the gods to their rightful place in the heavens. To return the world as it was once before.
To be worshipped as the supreme god of the Maya, unquestioned and unstoppable.
(FGO Effect:) -Inflict Skill Seal on all enemies for 2 turns. -Inflicts Poison with 500 damage for 5 turns to all enemies. -Inflicts Toxic status for 5 turns to them.
Noble Phantasms:
Noble Phantasm: Qʼumarkaj Impact - Vengeance Falls from the Stars Above Rank: EX Maximum Targets: — Range: —
Classification: Anti-World
A Noble Phantasm that is the origin of Yù Tù's own Noble Phantasm, A Dream Realized - A Rabbit Riding the Moon. In myth, alongside being the goddess of the Moon, Awilix was also the patron deity of the Mayan Ball Game Pitz. Much like how Ishtar's An Gal Tā Kigal Shē takes the very concept of Venus and fires it like a bullet, Awilix's Qʼumarkaj Impact has her take the moon and compact it into a simple ball that she can kick around with ease. Once she finds her target, she launches her attack with incomprehensible speed and power. Even the Storm Border, with its incredible magical defenses, had its body torn through as if it was nothing.
It is the vengeance of a goddess who saw her nation burned to the ground, her temples ransacked, and her people slaughtered. The rage of a deity who seeks to undo her past mistakes, and rewrite the world as she sees fit, no matter what seeks to stand in her way.
(FGO Effect:) -Increases Buster Card Effectiveness(Activates first). -Remove Buffs from All Enemies (Activates first). -Deal Heavy Damage to All Enemies.
Noble Phantasm: Nagual K'ab'awil - Divine Path of the Animal Rank: EX Maximum Targets: 1 Range: —
Classification: Anti-Unit(Self)
In Mesoamerican religion, the Nagual is a being that can shift forms from a humanoid state into that of their tonal animal. While many feared the destructive nature of the Nagual, there are some that used their powers for good. Awilix in particular had two animal totems, the eagle and the jaguar, as well as having a certain Lunar Rabbit as her servant.
As a Nagual, Awilix can morph her body into a more animalistic state, her muscles growing larger, her skin being covered in jaguar's pelt, her back sprouting eagle's wings, and her personality shifting to a more monstrous mindset. While Awilix is infinitely more ruthless and sadistic in this state, she is far from an 'evil' god. Rather, she becomes a 'monstrous' god, an animal who will not relent until its territory is free of any who wish its partners harm.
In this state, she was even able to fight the immortal Camazotz to a standstill, while her mortal incarnation Xbalanque could only hope to hide from his wrath. After a battle that Yù Tù claims to have shook all creation, she was eventually able to overcome the bat god, managing to kill him permanently within Xibalba.
Noble Phantasm: Junalik Yaxche - The Roots of All That Live Rank: A++ Maximum Targets: ??? Range: ???
Classification: Anti-Lostbelt(Self)
The famous tree of life of Mayan mythology, composed of four separate trees planted in all four corners of the World, all surrounding a massive ceiba tree whose roots dug all the way into the deepest pits of Xibalba, and whose branches reached into all thirteen layers of heaven, akin to the Yggdrasil tree of Norse Mythology. It is said that the gods themselves descended into the realm of humanity by climbing down this sacred tree. Much like Sun Wukong's Ruyi Jingu Bang and The Lion King's Rhongomyniad, it is a divine pillar that holds up one of the Textures of the world, in this case being the sacred tree that connects humanity to the afterlife.
As one of the children of the maize god and calabash tree Hun Hunahpu, and as a mortal who climbed into the heavens themselves and became the moon, Lostbelt King Awilix has attained some form of Authority over the Yaxche tree. She does not wield it as a weapon like Sun Wukong or Goddess Rhongomyniad, but rather draws directly from its power by consuming its fruits, and further enhanced the World Tree’s abilities by feeding it her Lostbelt's own Fantasy Tree, Andromeda. In times of desperation, Awilix can fully consume Yaxche in its entirety and in turn become the pillar that binds life, death, and the heavens. As Awilix-Yaxche, she becomes a divinity beyond divinity itself, ascending past the idea of a Divine Spirit and becoming a true god of the cosmos capable of shaping the universe as she pleases, capable of shattering the barrier between life and death itself and resurrecting her fellow gods to their fullest potentials.
"I am no mere goddess of the moon as you thought... I am Awilix, Queen of the Night Sky and Lord of the Dead. All things that die pass through me... And all things that return pass through me."
Noble Phantasm: Xquic Sol Muerto - Humiliation of Seven Macaw Rank: A Maximum Targets: 3 Range: 150,000,000 km
Classification: Anti-Army
A combination attack Noble Phantasm that can only be accessed if Awilix is summoned alongside her twin, Tohil. As the mortal Hero Twins of Mayan legend, Xbalanque and Hunahpu, the pair accomplished many legendary feats in their time, one of the most famous being the defeat of Seven Macaw, a bird demon who proclaimed himself to be both the sun and moon.. To this end, they used both their physical strength and incredible wits, ultimately ending in them robbing the monstrous bird of all his glittering teeth and shining gemstones, and proving definitively who the true embodiments of the sun and moon are.
This legend is inscribed in this tag-team Noble Phantasm, a brutal wrestling move taken straight out of Quetzalcoatl's book. Kukulkan charges in at lightspeed, knocking the opponent's legs from out under their feet, while Awilix charges in with a clothesline strong enough to decapitate any unfortunate Servant caught between the twins. Notably, it has a pronounced effect on gods of the sun and moon, and other similar divinities, as this technique reinforces the Authority of Tohil and Awilix as the ‘true’ sun and moon.
Voice Lines:
Summoned: So this is Chaldea... The organization dedicating to 'fixing' Pan-Human History. What? Oh it's nothing. Regardless, bow before me and praise my name, mortal. I am Awilix, goddess of sickness, death, and the night, sovereign over the K'iche' Maya and incarnation of the sun and moon.
Summoned(Clear Lostbelt 7: Popol Vuh): Tch... To think that I'd still end up in a place like this. The Throne of Heroes either has a sick sense of humor, or this is its idea of 'community service'. Hnn? You want me to introduce myself? Fine, fine. It's a pain in the ass, but it can't be helped. Servant, Archer. Awilix-Yaxche, the Moon that hangs above the Land of the Eternal Spring. No matter the era, no matter the place, the night sky will bless my people.
Level Up 1: It may not be to my particular tastes, but I suppose this is a passable offering. Very well, I accept this for now.
Level Up 2: Hmph. Is that all you have? C'mon, if that's all you got, then let's get some training in at least.
Level Up 3: Huh. It kinda tickles. ...why are you looking at me like that, human?
Level Up 4 (Third Ascension): No... This isn't nearly as satisfying. Give me something fresh. I want to feel the blood run down my chin.
Level Up 5 (Third Ascension): I suppose it can't be helped... But come on, you can't toss in some meat at least?
1st Ascension: Ngh! *crack* Ahhhh... That's much more to my liking. Kehahahahaha! Well? Aren't you impressed, human? C'mon, praise me, worship me! You stand before the almighty chief god, the embodiment of physical perfection! C'mon, let's go find a fleet or an army to crush! I want to test out this new Ascension properly!
2nd Ascension: I have to say... It's nice to be like this for a while. It reminds me of my time spent messing around with Hunahpu when we were younger. Back then it was just the two of us against all the gods, demons, and whatever else the world wanted to throw at us. Ahhhh... Is this what the mortals call 'nostalgia'? ...tch, what a pain.
3rd Ascension: It appears that your offerings have given me the strength to embrace my true Nagual nature. Behold me in my true glory. I am Awilix-Yaxche, the Usurper Lostbelt King, the forgotten goddess who stole the kingdoms of life and death from the Feathered Serpent. I am the god of the oppressed, the forgotten, and the denied. I am the god of both living and dead, night and day. Let all conquerors look upon my face and weep for their impending end, and let them all wither away before my gaze.
4th Ascension: ...I know that the empire I knew is gone. The nations of living and dead has fallen, the eclipse passed both mere moments ago and yet eternities long gone. But... The remnants of the kingdom that raised me still remain. The K'iche' Maya that raised me and my siblings from childhood, and ascended us to the realm of gods. Even if I am not blessed with offerings of flesh and blood, for the Lostbelt that I had lost, and for the Mayan People that remain... I will stand proud, with their memories forever in my heart. That is what it means to be a god.

Regular Damage(Third Ascension): You little-!
Defeated 1: Ngh…! No! No, I refuse to die here!
Defeated 2: I won’t… stop here…!
Defeated 1(Third Ascension): No… No, not again! It can’t happen like this again!
Defeated 2(Third Ascension): I can… go further than this…!
Victory 1: Haha! As expected, I won that game for us handily.
Victory 2: HAHAHAHAHA! Now that’s what I’m talking about! Come on, let’s move onto the next round!
Victory 1(Third Ascension): Thank you for the offering. I haven’t had that much fun in a while!
Victory 2(Third Ascension): No one can escape the gaze of the night sky… But you should’ve tried harder than that.
Bond Level 1: I am Awilix, one of the three gods created to serve the K'iche' Maya people. To be summoned as a Servant of Proper Human History is… unexpected for me, to say the least. Though I suppose it makes sense when you think about it… Either way, send me to crush your enemies and I will do so without hesitation.
Bond Level 2: Chaldea… An organization dedicated to 'fixing' humanity's past and ensuring that it all continues on as planned. ...hm? 'Is everything alright?' Hmph. What do you care? I am your Servant, you are the Master, isn't that right? What use does Humanity's Last Master have for conversing with their Servants?
Bond Level 3: Master, I can't help but ask… How does The World determine the 'correct' course of action for history to take? What makes this history 'Proper' Human History? Is it 'Proper' for the Spanish Empire to invade the Americas? Is it 'Proper' that they claimed an entire nation for themselves when the Mayan Empire was thriving and happy there? Is it 'Proper' for generations of people to be enslaved, slaughtered, and forced to abandon their history?! WELL?! ANSWER ME-! …I'm sorry. I just … I'm sorry.
Bond Level 4: I suppose I owe you an explanation for my last outburst. I was a god born for one purpose: to watch over and guide the Mayan people, to be a god that served man as much as man served the gods. And then… Then I lost everything. To say that what happened is the 'right' course of action. To say that was the 'truth' of humanity's destiny. …I cannot accept that. I want to believe that there is a chance to make a future for the people I love. I want… I want them to love me again.
Bond Level 5: I will never accept what has happened in the past. The wrongs that have been done to me and my people. The losses of history, culture, and beliefs over time. I will never forgive the world for what it has done. …but I also understand that you're just like me in that sense. Another person fighting to preserve and save entire generations from being forgotten and destroyed. To that end, I suppose I can enjoy our time spent together.
Bond Level 5(Clear Interlude “From Xibalba With Love”): …did you know that you were not the first Master to summon me? There was another. A young girl who called on me to fight in a Holy Grail War. She was strong, if naive. Open, if not talkative. Kind, if not foolish. I enjoyed her company. I betrayed her in a desperate bid to regain my status as a true god. …like everything I've done in my life, it was all for nothing. I failed to claim my godhood, I failed to protect my Master, and I failed to be a hero. It's funny... I never had a second thought of the lives I’ve taken before, and yet, I can't help but think of her. I wonder what you'd think of me now, Mercedes…
Dialogue 1: So many people wander these halls… Gods, men, friends, enemies, conquerors and conquered alike. I must wonder how Chaldea hasn’t become a smoldering pile of ash at this point…
Dialogue 2: I have to say, despite my legend involving outwitting the foes Tohil and I faced, I was never a quick thinker when it came to the arts… *sigh* A fact that my half-brothers never let me forget. It’s not my fault I never needed to learn that stuff!
Dialogue 3: Hey, you! Interested in a game? I’m gonna commandeer the simulator to see if we can set up a court. Go grab a handful of Servants, and we can let off some steam.
Dialogue 4(Bond Level 5): I know what it is like to live through the loss of your people… To lose everything you knew and love to a cruel and unjust invader. I won’t let you live through the same pain I did, Master. If I cannot secure the future for my people, then I can at least help you save your own.
Dialogue 5 (If you have Kukulkan): Tohil… No, you're not the same sun deity I grew up with, that much is obvious. Still... I can't help but feel the same comfort I had having my twin standing beside me. From one Lostbelt King to another, Kukulkan, I hope we can get along.
Dialogue 6 (If you have Baron Samedi): Him. Everywhere I go, that accursed Loa seems to follow me, mocking my every movement and every action! Fine then, if he seeks to poke at the Jaguar... Then I hope the fool is prepared to cut himself on my claws.
Dialogue 7 (If you have Yù Tù): Oh? Lamat is here as well? Yes, I remember my time with her fondly. After she broke into my house and accidentally made herself immortal, we spent quite a long time together. I suppose you could go so far and call her my daughter. …how time's gone by since then. Another thing this Proper Human History has taken away from me.
Dialogue 8 (If you have Xolotl): Oh yes, the twin brother of Quetzalcoatl. I suppose in some sense he's my counterpart from Aztec mythology. Then again, maybe it's Tezcatlipoca that fills that role. Or… Coyolxāuhqui? Daaagh! There's too many gods to keep track of! Isn't this Hun Batz and Hun-Chowen's territory?!
Dialogue 9 (If you have Hernán Cortés): So, that bastard from the Grail War in Jerusalem is here too? Last time we met, I was too weak to properly show my true strength against the self-proclaimed 'God Incarnate'. Now… Hehahahahhaha… Now, Master, I'd say it's time for some payback. I'll enjoy crushing his skull with my bare hands.
Dialogue 10 (If you have Jaguar Warrior): Taiga Fujimura… So this is my champion from Proper Human History. I must say, that costume of yours makes you look rather dashing.
Dialogue 11 (If you have Zipacna): Zipacna, have you come to challenge me? Heh, I understand, you weren't satisfied the way our last encounter ended. Fine then. But don't blame me after I cook you on a spit! C'mon, I'll let you reunite with your father and brother!
Dialogue 12 (If you have Fenrir Riding Hood): Oh? The little wolf seems to be looking my way. I suppose it makes sense, given I am the incarnate sun and moon. But I warn you, little girl… You may be a Beast of Humanity, but I alone am the apex predator here. So if you don’t wish to be eaten alive again, I suggest you run off.
Dialogue 13 (If you have Qin Shi Huang or Romulus=Quirinus): The Founding God-Kings, eh? Divinities that forged their own nations, reigning over them as gods. I feel like we could have a lot to talk about. …nah, it's probably for the best that I avoid them. I have a feeling that a conversation between us might get ugly.
Dialogue 14 (If you have any “Death” or “Underworld” related Servants): So, there are other divinities with Authority over death in Chaldea, are there? Hah! Maybe they'll be more of a challenge than those dullards in Xibalba. Or perhaps not.
Dialogue 15 (If you have Guan Yu): So humanity can make their own gods now? How fitting that a butcher of men would be the kind of person they'd deify. Then again, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing how well a god born of humanity stands up to the real deal. Haha! I've made up my mind, Guan Yu! Fight me, and let's see which god is truly worthy of worship!
Likes: There’s nothing better than a good game of pok-ta-pok to get the blood pumping, y’know? Though any type of sport is a good way to get everyone in a good mood. Well, unless you’re my half-brothers, but those furry bastards couldn’t know fun if it kicked them in the tail.
Dislikes: The idea of a ‘Proper’ Human History sickens me… Who decides that a culture is right? What force of the world decides the correct course of action for humanity? If I had the chance to choose… Ngh, nevermind, I’m going to go get some air.
About the Holy Grail: The Grail can grant me any wish I desire. I can reshape the world to befit my history. I could become a god ruling over humanity… Yes, if I had the chance, I would right the wrongs of the World and make a new empire of the Maya. An empire where the gods watch over mankind.
About the Holy Grail(Clear Interlude “From Xibalba With Love”): The Grail can grant me any wish I desire. I can reshape the world to befit my history, I could become a god ruling over humanity… And despite this, the only thing that comes to mind right now is that time in Jerusalem. …but no wish could ever grant me absolution for betraying her.
During an Event: It seems like a festival is going on! In that case, why don’t we join in? Even gods need to enjoy themselves from time to time.Birthday: It’s your birthday is it? Ahhhh, now I see, if that’s the case, let us be off! I know the other Servants seek to celebrate with you as well, but trust me when I say that I will make today an extraordinary celebration that no one, man or god, could ever hope to pull off!
Profile:
Default:
Awilix, one of the three Tohil in Mayan mythology, and the goddess over sickness, death, and the night. One of the three founding gods of the K'iche' Kingdom in Guatemala, one of the most powerful of the Mayan Empires, Awilix reigns supreme in the Guatemalan Lostbelt as the arbiter of both life and death, a divinity both the living and dead serve.
She is not a 'True' Lostbelt King like Ivan the Terrible or Zeus. Rather, she is a Servant summoned from Proper Human History to destroy the Lostbelt and defeat her twin, Kukulkan. However, she rebelled against the world's original intent, and instead assassinated Kukulkan to take the Lostbelt for herself, taking her sister's position as Lostbelt King.
She is Awilix-Yaxche, the Usurper Lostbelt King.
Bond Level 1:
Height/Weight: 186cm • 77kg
Source: Mayan Mythology(The Popol Vuh)

Gender: Female-Presenting
It is said that after the Tohil turned themselves into stone to become the guardian patrons of the K'iche' Maya, the gods Awilix and Tohil incarnated into mortal forms, becoming the Hero Twins Hunahpu and Xbalanque. After their father, Hun Hunahpu, was defeated and sacrificed by the Lords of Xibalba, the twins were born from Hunahpu's severed head impregnating the Blood Moon, Xquic. From the Xibalban Goddess, the greatest heroes of Mayan mythology were born, the living incarnation of the sun and moon itself.
As Awilix and Xbalanque are essentially one and the same person, the goddess of death has found a way to cheat the system of gods being impossible to be summoned normally, incarnating in her mortal form with her full Divinity intact.
"Hey, it's not cheating! It's being smart!"
It's totally cheating.
Bond Level 2:
In Proper Human History, the K'iche' Maya were gifted with three gods, Tohil, Jacawitz, and Awilix, who they were tasked with guarding and raising. In turn, the trio of divinities known as the Tohil would watch over and bless the Mayan people, gifting them fire, and protecting them from harm in exchange for offerings of blood. Awilix served as the patron goddess of the night sky, sickness, Pok-ta-Pok, and one of the many deities presiding over death. She was second only in authority to her sibling Tohil, who in some legends is the same deity as Qʼuqʼumatz, the K'iche' equivalent to the Yucatan region's Kukulkan.
As the Usurper Lostbelt King of the Guatemalan Lostbelt, Awilix reigns over the deities of the Mayan Pantheon as the sole ruler, taking over the Land of the Eternal Spring after slaying the most powerful gods of life and death. All beings, living and dead, recognize her authority and fear her wrath. With the Mayan people having this unquestioned power presiding over them, they soon spread outward, conquering the rest of Central America, before their influence gripped the entire planet, all while they praised the might of Awilix, the Eternal Eclipse.
Bond Level 3:
In another time and space, she was summoned in a Holy Grail War as a Lancer-Class. There, she only had a small fraction of her power, but was still a fearsome opponent. She dueled with conquerors, lords of death, former friends and former foes. She betrayed and was betrayed, and in the end, she failed to reach the dream she sought. While most Servants forget the wars they fight in, as a Divinity, each second she lived a reminder of how she failed as a goddess. Each wound, each loss, all of them a reminder of how far she fell.
Now, those slights against her serve as further motivation. A promise to avenge her losses and become the goddess that she was meant to be. To shackle the conqueror, to kill the immortal, and to show that even gods of death are as mortal as any man.
Bond Level 4:
The world is full of mirrors. Life and death. Sun and moon. Day and night. Health and sickness. The Maya recognized this, which is why in the Popol Vuh, many figures existed as part of a pair. Hun Hunahpu and Vucub Hunahpu. The Twelve Lords of Xibalba. The demons Zipacna and Cabrakan. And of course, the Hero Twins themselves, Hunahpu and Xbalanque.
In the Mayan Lostbelt, however, Awilix violated this existence of pairs by killing her twin and taking her Authority. The moon and sun were now one and the same. Life and death existed simultaneously. No longer were they a mirror, but rather, a concurrent existence. In turn, the balance of the world was left askew, all power concentrated into a single god. Even after granting other beings parts of her Authority, the Lostbelt was doomed to fall apart, something that Awilix simply could not allow.
So she became the pillar holding Xibalba, Earth, and Heaven together, becoming the entity known as Awilix-Yaxche that fastened all creation together. As a consequence, she became a lynchpin of the world forced to constantly consume her own people to keep existing, a monster that must constantly eat that she loves in order to save them.
Bond Level 5:
History is written by the winners. A phrase that has forever been passed down from generation to generation. To make one’s mark on the world, you have to write your story in the blood of those you conquered and subjugated. The K'iche' Maya were among those conquered, one of the many cultures and nations subjugated during Europe's Age of Exploration. The conquistadors came, burning their kings alive as an example, and razing the city of Qʼumarkaj to the ground.
Such was the course of mankind the World saw 'proper'. The once-great temples dedicated to the gods, now mere ruins. Their beloved sport, now banned for fear of their rituals. Their culture, ripped away, with only scraps left remaining. The gods, the kings, the people, all left forever scarred by the actions of the 'winners'.
Perhaps none were left more broken by this than the goddess of the night sky, Awilix. Raised by the very Mayan people themselves as one of the Tohil, she could do nothing as she watched the invasion of the Spaniards. How her people were raped, slaughtered, and put in chains. How their very existence was seen as 'barbaric', something to be ripped away and replaced with the Spaniard's own brutality. How they happily did it all in the name of 'salvation'.
As a Servant, Awilix's greatest wish is to undo this great tragedy. To become a 'winner' in her own right and have the chance to write a new history. To write a story where the conquered become conquerors, where the blood of the invaders flows freely ,and where the Maya rule over all.
She does not care if she became an enemy of the World to do so.
The World became her enemy first.
Extra (Clear Popul Vuh and Reach Bond 5):
As the Supreme Goddess of the Land of the Eternal Spring, she chose to walk among her people, descending from her throne to embrace the humanity she longed to oversee. She praised them, loved them, and cared for them, just at they had done for her long ago. But she could not save them. No matter what Authorities she gathered, no matter how much power she amassed, she could not save her Lostbelt from falling apart. Proper Human History was destined to eventually overtake her, no matter what power she amassed, no matter how many Servants she slew, the Mayan Empire would meet its end.
Nevertheless, at the end of the world, when the Sun descended down to meet the Moon once again, she embraced it all with a smile on her face. It mattered not if she tore her body to shreds. It mattered not if her bones cracked beneath her fists with each blow. It mattered not if both Xibalba and Earth were shattering all around her.
As a goddess, it is her duty to protect the people that worshipped her.
And to remember those that have been lost.
"To my people, of both Proper Human History, and of the Lostbelt... Thank you for loving me... and for being loved."
Voice Lines(Lostbelt King):
Fight Start(First Battle): Well now, look who's right on time...
Fight Start (Decisive Battle): Once again, conquerors and raiders have come to my shores. I will fix the mistakes of the past, and claw out a future for my people and I!

Come, Chaldeans, throw yourselves against me to try and reclaim your history, just as I have. Here and now, we will see whose future truly deserves to live on!
Fight Start(Final Battle): The world above me, the world below me, all coming crashing down... And yet I can't keep my eyes off of you. Ahahahaha... HAHAHAHAHAHA! Come on, Tohil! Let's settle this between us once and for all!
Skill 1: You will not evade me!
Skill 2: You will not escape me!
Skill 3: You will not deny me!
Attack 1(Grand Battle): Tremble as the night sky falls on your heads!

Attack 7(Final Battle): Come on, Tohil, you're getting sloppy!
Attack 8(Final Battle): I know you can take a hit better than that! Or have you just gotten too lazy?!
Extra Attack(Final Battle): Let's keep going... Until the world collapses all around us!
Noble Phantasm 1 (First Battle):
You've done well to make it this far, Chaldea.
You've faced gods, kings, demons, and horrors that defy all explanation.
How sad for you, that your story ends here!
Watch as the moon falls from the sky and crashes down on your heads!
Qʼumarkaj Impact!
Noble Phantasm 2 (Grand Battle):
This World… This History… It has trampled on me and the great kingdoms I helped build…
It has denied me and my peoples' history time and time again.
In turn... Let me deny the World its own history...
And from the corpses of my people, I will plant the seeds for a newer, greater era of prosperity!
JUNALIK YAXCHE!
Noble Phantasm 3 (Grand Battle):
From the four corners of the world, a single tree pierces through Heaven, Earth, and Xibalba.
From deep within the ground, out from the Land of the Trees, the great tree ascends.
Let's climb higher! Higher! Let us reach past the moon and stars into the edge of the universe!
Junalik Yaxche!
Noble Phantasm 4 (Final Battle):
Come on, Tohil! Don't slow down for even a second, because I want to make this last!
Let's solve this the only way we know how! With a final battle until the bitter end!
Q'umarkaj Impact!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Let's keep going until the end of time itself!
Damage from Noble Phantasm(First Battle): Weak.
Damage from Noble Phantasm(Grand Battle): Ghhh! I'm still... in control!
Damage from Noble Phantasm(Final Battle): Hehahahaha! Come on, is that the best you can do?!
Regular Damage(First Battle): That's just sad.
Regular Damage(Grand Battle): Ngh!
Regular Damage(Final Battle): Haha!
Defeated(Grand Battle): No... No, this isn't over! I won't let this be the end!
Defeated(Final Battle): Hunahpu... Tohil... Kukulkan... Hahaha... Can you forgive your stupid twin for all of this...? I just wanted to make a better future... But in the end, I couldn't manage that. All I did... was destroy everything.

thinking ob lb2 again and i'm still so sad that it was messed up so badly when the initial themes were really great
like skadis & odin's (which skadis 2nd interlude elaborates on) selfish love, wanting the world and beings they love to continue living even if it's a cruel existence for them. the way you can compare it to surtrs selfish feelings he has for ophelia, or the love sigurd and brynhild have for one another
skadi & ortlinde being unable to understand their loved ones decisions until it's practically too late. the inability of ophelia, skadi and ortlinde to actually take action until it's much too late. napoleon serving as a symbol of hope in that regard, the rainbow finally spurring ophelia into action.
the from lostbalt manga scene of ophelia admitting that she truly had different wishes in life than where she ended up, apologising for not doing better. skadi grieving over this, over ophelia, as a mother who is in the exact same spot of being unable to leave the duty that was placed on her.
lb2 had potential man, skadi's character has so much potential. it just pisses me off that both the game and fandom reduce her to moe scathach when there's so much that could've been done with her character
#'why do they keep apologising skadis murders but not the other lostbelt kings' mostly because it's not them apologising it#it's skadi constantly grueving the fact that she did#her entire character consists of having played sitting ducks and having wanted to save the humans odin entrusted her with#but being unable to find any way to do so besides what she ended up doing#interlude 2 she literally asks why odin didn't kill her too#the difference between her and the other lb kings is that her direct goal was preserving the humans odin entrusted her with#she's not a ruler in the sense the other lb kings are#and their intentions differ#morgan only wanted to save brotain#*britain#qsh wanted to preserve their immortality and eternal rule#they loved the humans but if they were educated they wouldve posed a threat to that#junao was left deeply traumatized and derived from his humanity striving for a perfect world devoid of flaws#etc etc etc#skadi is the one who is set apart because her goal wasn't just preserving the world#but actually saving the humans she genuinely loved#and yet the only method she found was by slowly killing them#sitting duck game as said#that's what the focus constantly is skadi genuinely lived the humans and wanted a different option#and grieves the fact that those she loved in that world all in the end have died except for her#and the valkyries#look i agree her character can be absolute trash#i hate the 'moe scathach bit'#but my girl actually does have potential#her interludes are great#lb2 couldve been great#had the themes been actually written out well#fgo#not-so-dead-salmon#she was my first 5star i got her in fuyuki ok so i have an attachment to her

So... Lostbelt 6 part 2 is out and it's great! I haven't finished it yet but uh... I gotta address something. And it's this scene.
Good scene, right? Beautiful CG, some insight into the way Castoria thinks... but there's something wrong with this scene.
It's translated wrong.
Now if you're like me and you've been keeping up with fan translations for FGO, you may have realized this already, but this translation fundamentally misses the entire point of the scene.
This is what Castoria is supposed to be saying:
I don't want to see her. I don't want to be shown her. She's too much. I don't want to believe it. I don't want to acknowledge it.
After all.
She has no equal. Takes no refuge. No one who understands her. None who can comfort her.
She receives no reward. No goals. No rest. She cannot afford failure, not even a single mistake.
Ah—from the bottom of my heart, I think: "no."
Just how cruel must it be for everyone to smile and acknowledge a king like that?
Do you see the difference? This is a defining scene concerning Castoria's character. Something that sets her apart from every other iteration of Artoria that we've known so far (barring the Servantverse ones). Castoria sees the way of life that her PHH self chose and is repulsed. She can't stand to think about it. At first it seems like she's just buckling under the weight of those expectations, but in reality, Castoria just can't stand to see her.
She can't stand to see this other version of herself willingly throw away her humanity for the sake of an ideal. To give up her own happiness, to give up any chance of ever being understood, all to become a perfect king who the people will love and praise, but never truly understand.
It is a lonely existence, and like a certain redhead in Fate/Stay Night, she can't accept it. Who could bear to live like that? Who would want to live like that? Castoria wants nothing more than to be happy. She wants to make friends her age, eat sweets with them, go shopping with them and walk down the street while holding their hands. She wants to LIVE, and the thought of giving all of that up for the sake of everybody but yourself...
Noble? Sure. But it's mostly just tragic.
That's what this scene is about. Establishing exactly how Castoria feels about her Proper Human History self. She doesn't admire her, if anything it HURTS to see her, to know what she went through, to know what she did.
So WHY was it translated like this?
I'm the only one of my kind. I have nowhere to run. No one understands me. Romance is out of the question.
There's no reward. No finish line. no rest. I can't make so much as a single mistake.
Ahh... So many things I'll never have.
How cruel would I have to be for everyone to accept a king like me with a smile?
Listen, Castoria thinking of her own struggles in parallel to Saber's is interesting, and it isn't NOT there... but that isn't the point of the scene, and foregrounding it like this is uh...
It sure is a decision, that's for sure.
It's not necessarily bad, but it just doesn't fit due to the obvious reason that this isn't what the scene is supposed to be. This scene isn't Castoria seeing a vision of Saber and going "wow, how am I going to live up to this?" as if Saber's story is aspirational.
No. It's a tragedy, and what Castoria is actually thinking is "that's cruel and fucked up"
Anyways I just felt like putting this out there... and before anybody jumps down my throat about how the fan-translation could've been wrong... I did bring this up with a friend who can read Japanese and went to read the node in Japanese. While you could argue that because Caster and Artoria are acknowledged to be different versions of the same person, that Caster is using "I" to refer to the other, but the last line is just outright wrong. The scene is fundamentally about the cruelty of everyone around Saber placing an impossible burden on her, and how Castoria feels seeing that.

Ah, nuts to it, I'm not letting this one simmer in my head forever.
Fanservant: Tam Lin Bedivere
Servant Class: Saber
In a distant land, a Lostbelt- no, a Lostworld called Faerie Britain, the there was once a Savior named Aesc. She had companions, tried to save this Lostworld, failed, and the tyrant Queen Morgan rose. Visitors to this Lostworld witnessed her tyranny, fought her, slew her, and- if you know of Faerie Britain you know the specifics of this story, the ways it might be inaccurate, and so on.
However, the Kaleidoscope, the observation of infinite possibilities, is a funny thing, that observes differences in timelines. In the timeline you know, the story is as it is.
Tam Lin Bedivere is not from the timeline you know.
In another time, Aesc the Savior had one more companion than was commonly listed- a fae squire that became a fairy knight, the one called Tam Lin Bedivere. When Aesc died, Bedivere went missing- and it is commonly believed that the fairy knight's grief contributed to the circumstances of her reappearance, as the tyrant Queen Morgan's first knight.
Tam Lin Bedivere. The Loyal Knight of Autumn. A seemingly simplistic knight, adorned in armor like pale bone, or old grey wood, wielding a dread rapier of divine light, cutting down every Mors she comes across, in a near unbreaking vigil to end the threats to Faerie Britain. Gentle voiced but stern, and would always spirit those in danger away to safety.
The truth is several times over. Firstly, her armor, similar to the armor you might think reminiscent of a certain Lion King of Knights, was fashioned from the "bark" carved from A Certain Tree. Secondly, her sword was a gift, given to her by the Savior Aesc- originally a hefty spear, Tam Lin Bedivere fashioned it closer to a sword that would retract into the gauntlet of her right arm in golden coils. Due to the manner in which it was reforged, that sword is also capable of reforming as its wielder needs, extending in length and twisting around shields.
Thirdly, to dispel any notions, in spite of her proud, long, flowing autumn hair, and elsewise appearance, Tam Lin Bedivere is not the one you might recognize as Fujimaru Ritsuka.
She might have been, once. A long, long time ago. Two thousand and four hundred years ago, in fact. But once, in the present, the girl named Fujimaru Ritsuka was overcome with an irrational desire to protect- and thus displaced her Servant, and took the Water Mirror herself.
That Water Mirror sent that girl back, two thousand and four hundred years- but that is not what affected her. No, it was the combination of circumstance. The girl had no mana left in her body from a terrible fight with a terrible foe in Norwich Harbor, and furthermore she no longer had the protection of Shielder.
In that circumstance, she was like a sponge, absorbing the local mana- and that changed her rapidly and irrevocably, and subtly enough that even she did not notice herself.
And so, the girl became a changeling faerie. And so, she knew she could not return. And so, she remained with the Savior Aesc.
And over the years, and decades, and centuries, and millenia, she cultivated her mana, and her technique, and loyally served. Because that was all that she could do, because that was all that was left for her to do. Because she could not go home anymore.
And over those years, those decades, those centuries, those millenia, she forgot what she once was.
... is that really the truth, though?
PARAMETERS:
Strength: B
Endurance: A
Agility: B
Mana: A++
Luck: C
NP: EX
SKILLS:
Territory Creation (EX Rank): It is less to say that Tam Lin Bedivere is capable of calling forth a territory and using it; rather, a constant Bounded Field surrounds her and the area immediately around her. In ancient times, the effect was provided by her armor, but over thousands of years the effect has "stuck" to her. The nature of this Bounded Field "defines" Tam Lin Bedivere, near-absolutely. As such, her Parameters cannot be altered in any way by outside sources (detrimentally, or beneficially). In addition, any mana she expends, as long as it remains within this Bounded Field, will return to her almost immediately. Furthermore, this defined space protects her against all forms of unnatural attack, acting similarly to a Magic Resistance of A+ Rank. Lastly, allegedly, the Bounded Field would even protect Tam Lin Bedivere from ontological phenomena, such as erasure by paradox. However, such protection would surely be of extraneous value at best.
Riding (C+ Rank): One method of travel for Tam Lin Bedivere is to make her sword as large as possible, throw it like a javelin, and hop aboard, surfing across the sky. That alone should speak to her Riding skill. She calls the technique the Remix Arash Express, although even she cannot say as though why she would call it that.
Mana Burst (A++ Rank): Tam Lin Bedivere has an utterly extraordinary amount of mana, as well as the ability to manipulate it near effortlessly. Apocryphally, that unbelievable supply was gifted to her by Aesc the Savior, for her attempt to learn the nature of the Great Pit at the center of Faerie Britain. One direct manner by which she can crush threats to her Queen is to funnel a titanic amount of mana into her sacred sword; in a pinch, she can also channel that mana into her gauntlets or greaves. Even the unparalleled warrior Wryneck was said to quake at the notion of challenging her sheer force output.
Mind's Eye (True) (A Rank): Over thousands of years, Tam Lin Bedivere has fought threats to the Lostworld of Faerie Britain- from the Mors, to rogue elements. Over that combat she has accrued incredible battlefield awareness.
Fairy Knight of Autumn (B+ Rank): Tam Lin Bedivere was one of Queen Morgan's loyal knights, leading her own contingent in the battle against the Mors. Her unusual valor inspired the soldiers in her charge, acting similar to a Charisma skill. However, her true value comes in the certainty with which she fights. Her mind never folds under pressure, regardless of the odds or circumstances, whether it be fighting a tide of Mors, stalling a Calamity, or cutting down traitors to her Queen. It is said she has only ever faltered twice- both times against the foreign knight called "Tam Lin Galahad".
NOBLE PHANTASM:
Claiomh Solais: Sacred Sword, Light of Judgment
In the mythology of Pan-Human history, Claiomh Solais was the mythic sword of the equally mythic war god Nuadha. Chaldeas logs indicate that the heroic spirit known as Bedivere co-opted the legend of Nuadha's Silver Arm, Airgetlam. It is only appropriate that his Tam Lin counterpart would co-opt his shining sword.
Originally an iteration of the Sacred Spear Rhongomyniad, it was passed from the Savior Aesc to the Tam Lin Bedivere, and fashioned into a sword, that retracts to form the gauntlet and the armor of her right arm. When invoked, the Faerie Knight of Autumn could call down a gleaming pillar of light from the heavens, obliterating anything before her.
At one point, in this timeline, it was deflected by Mash Kyrielight, and irreversibly destroyed Tam Lin Bedivere's helmet, thus exposing her face to the public for the first time in over two thousand years.
Over the course of events, after Queen Morgan's death, she was bade to join the Chaldeans in their descent to Avalon, and bear witness to the forming of Excalibur in the Lostworld. This imprint of Excalibur was then given to her, and fused with her own sword- thus completing the sword known as Claiomh Solais.
In the better known timeline, this was followed by Artoria Caster's sacrifice to fell Cernunnos, and some other things. In this timeline, things are slightly reversed- it is Tam Lin Bedivere who sacrifices her life to fell Cernunnos, and Artoria Caster who survived, was devoured alongside the Chaldeans by the Abyssal Worm, called forth the memory of a kindly knight, and defeated Oberon Vortigern.
"O light from the Inner Sea, I bid you rise. O judgment from the Ends of the World, I bid you descend. No wrongness or evil may remain before my blade! CLAIOMH SOLAIS!"

So, you wanna prep for Lostbelt 6 by reading a bunch of fairy lore for background information. Luckily for you, I’m a turbo nerd when it comes to this particular brand of folklore. In this post I’ll be compiling links to assorted text and audio sources of information and entertainment related to all the real-world fairy lore that pops up throughout the chapter. I’m gonna try to avoid just wikipedia links as much as possible, so some of the text sources are gonna be a little dense, but that’s ye olde texts for you. This will be semi-ongoing as things pop up, so you can keep an eye out if you want!
Note: I’ll try to keep the spoilers to a minimum, but there will be possible spoilers as to what’s in the chapter ahead, so watch out!
Without further ado, here’s the list under the cut:
HUGE MASSIVE CONTENT WARNING: Many of these texts are going to have adult themes and triggering content, particularly sexual assault, rape, and general non-consent in romantic or sexual relationships. I’m going to start including individual warnings for texts where I know it comes up, but even if I don’t note it, please proceed with caution and take care!
A Dictionary of Fairies: Hobgoblins, Brownies, Bogies, and Other Supernatural Creatures by Katharine Mary Briggs - Exactly what it sounds like on the tin. Here’s where you can read about all the different fairies and creatures that tend to be more in short folktales, from baobhan sith to barghests to Ainsel and beyond, all in alphabetical order. If you find a fairy name you want to look up, it’s probably going to be in here somewhere.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare - I mean c’mon man. C’mon. There could always be a first for someone though, so if you are that someone - this is the most famous work featuring Oberon the fairy king, and the big one that F/GO and basically all other post-Billy Shakes media works pulls from. If you’d rather watch a staging of the play instead of read a script, here are some performances by Rice University and the Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival, and if those two in particular aren’t your jam I guarantee you there’s going to be a staging somewhere you can watch. As a bonus, here’s an absolutely lovely musical arrangement of “Philomel, With Melody” (AKA the lullaby Titania’s fairy servants sing to her) by the band Caprice. It’s not the most relevant, I just want to share it because it’s nice. WARNING: The crux of the play revolves around a love potion plot, so there will be themes of manipulation, non-consent, and potential sexual assault played for laughs and romance. It’s arguably mild compared to some of the other texts on here, but I would still be careful!
Translations of Melusina (Melusine) stories by D. L. Ashliman - D. L. Ashliman’s got a massive online treasure trove of folktales and folktexts, it’s always a fun time to go on a rabbit hole through his(their?) site. If you want stuff specifically relevant to Melusine though, here’s the page for her.
Versions of the Tam Lin ballad compiled at Tam Lin Balladry - this one’s going to be relevant because of the extremely high likelihood that NA will follow the JP merch labels and localize the “Fairy Knight” title as Tam Lin. Because it’s a ballad, there’s plenty of audio versions put to song, the most textually accurate one I can currently find being by Bob Hay & The Jolly Beggars. Besides that however, there are also versions by Steeleye Span, Fairport Convention, Tricky Pixie, and my personal favorite, the one by Anaïs Mitchell of Hadestown fame and Jefferson Hamer. If you want a more standard audio adaptation, the Tales of Britain and Ireland podcast will have you covered. WARNING: The start of the ballad is explicitly about sexual assault, with Tam Lin having been a rapist prior to meeting Janet. Janet’s own encounter is usually portrayed as consensual, she’s apparently a weirdo who heard the warnings and went “So that means FREE SEX?”, but some later versions do change her encounter into rape as a bizarre way of censoring her having sex out of wedlock. In addition, the ballad deals with themes of abortion. Basically, if any of this stuff is a trigger for you, I would proceed with extreme caution if you choose to listen or read.
Habetrot and Scantlie Mab - an archived version of a fairy tale about Habetrot. For similar stories, search for stuff under the Aarne-Thompson-Uther index type 501, “The Three Spinning Old Women”.
Historia Regum Britanniae (The History of the Kings of Britain) by Geoffrey of Monmouth - Now this one may not seem immediately obvious in its relevance outside of “hey look, Arthuriana!”, but trust me, This Is A Surprise Tool That Will Help Us Later. The relevant parts are going to start at Book 6, with Vortigern’s shenanigans. There’s also a podcast audio adaptation by Myths & Legends, split into part A, part B, and part C, if you would prefer that.
Official website for Knocknarea, or Cnoc na Riabh - Knocknarea is a big ol’ hill in Ireland with a bunch of Neolithic cairns on it, the most famous of which is claimed to be Queen Medb’s tomb. For anything else related to Medb, go read the Tain.
The Wikipedia page for Cernunnos - this is the point where I have to give up on not linking wikipedia, alas, as the sources here are little too tiny and scattered. Cernunnos is a Celtic god from Gaul, he’s got horns, we’ve got his name and some archaeological depictions of him, and that’s basically it, because unfortunately no stories about him survived. If I can find a better source about him to link, I’ll drop it here.
Le Morte d’Arthur by Sir Thomas Mallory, Volume I and Volume II - Not including this initially was a huge oversight on my part, but this is pretty much The text for general Arthuriana and one of the really big ones that Fate takes influence from. You can read this for stuff about Morgause and Morgan, but it’s also just good to have on hand for anything with the Round Table in general.
I’ve also got a bunch of podcast episodes that don’t really fit in with any of the above that I’ll list here if anyone wants more dank audio content:
Robin Goodfellow: His Mad Pranks and Merry Jests by Tales of Britain and Ireland - Relevant if you want some alternative tales of Puck and Oberon. WARNING: The episode itself covers its warnings pretty good, but before you click - there’s a lot of adult content in this one, including the thumbnail image. Most of the stories adapted are going to get pretty bawdy even at best, and there’s one that explicitly involves an attempted rape that the titular character thwarts. Proceed with caution, and also maybe don’t listen in public.
Black Dogs and Englishmen: Black Shuck in English Folklore and The Barguest: Demon Dog, Silly Sprite or Spectral Hound?, both by Fabulous Folklore with Icy - Listen to these two if you want more info on barghests.
Scottish Halloween & Vampire Fairy Witches by Stories of Scotland - Listen to this if you want a retelling of a story involving the baobhan sith along with other Scottish traditions!
And that’s all I’ve got for right now! If I find any more relevant sources, or if someone directs me to said sources, I’ll be sure to add links to this post. Until then, happy reading and listening, and I hope everyone has fun with LB6!

In a big rush, I've caught up to RDCH manhwa, up to chapter 92.
There's a lot that happened. As always, the pace is breakneck, haha. Anyway, there's a few points I wanted to note.
First, I appreciate the respect for just punching someone in the face. This is why I respect SQH the most as Lostbelt King, because at the end of LB3, they go to punch it out with Chaldea. Here, in chapter 85, Hugo punches it out with Taurus and it's great. And then, Libra also eventually resorts to just directly punching Lee Geon, which is hilarious.
Speaking of Libra, she's done a bang up job as a villain. Very funny that she stripped at the end to the same level as Lee Geon. Even her top! In general, I feel like... this manhwa really has a foot fetish. The guys always lose their shirts, sure, but they also lose everything below the knee too, only keeping their hulk modesty shorts. But you also get Yooha losing her boots, while her jeans are otherwise fine, so it feels like they just really wanted to get her barefoot lol (Speaking of Yooha, I wonder if they're going to circle back to the evil god in her arms, or if this is it and it'll be considered that she's gotten control of it.)
Speaking of Hugo, the first couple chapters after the manhwa restarted were quite rough, since it was more flashbacks of Suffering(tm). Hugo really lives a different genre than everyone else sometimes, rip. I do like how he goes wild against Taurus. He and Lee Geon are very similar sometimes. They can have a similar mean sense of humor, and occasionally Hugo enjoys battle in a similar way.
There were also some moments for Yooha, Steven, Kevin... feels like a fairly okay support cast, which I like. Though of course, Lee Geon is the only useful one, haha
That said, the big ending for the Libra arc felt pretty cohesive. I can't really complain about the direction.
There are several interesting points that were elucidated. First, Lee Geon's moral compass is sometimes a bit hard to pin down, but he pretty directly states what he is opposed to: disregarding "the safety of others." Everything else is whatever, but people shouldn't be put in danger meaninglessly.
(In my fanfic concept development, this would mean... you can tell he loses it if he puts innocent people in danger. But for additional consideration, Lee Geon is not at all shy about going to down on anyone who crosses him and directly threatens murder in the novel. So you could say him losing it would come from the direction of starting to see innocent people as having wronged him. Hehehe)
Second, there's an interesting... hm, undercurrent? that is introduced here. Steven says that he is willing to sacrifice "everything Leo has accumulated" because otherwise humanity will lose "everything they've accumulated" in bold text. At the same time, Libra tries to claim that this world belongs to the divine gods, while "Baron Helmet" said the same for the unknown civilization when they invaded. There's this concept of accumulating resources or taking them by force.
Third, they also bring up several times that "the weak don't even get the right to choose" and "only the strong get to ask questions," which... is certainly in line with a battle series, but... yeah. Yooha does angle Leo's ideal of the strong survive as "the strong have a duty to protect the weak," and in a sense, all the weak people "choose" Lee Geon, which you can interpret as flashback Steven being wrong. But still... it's all good to say that Ophiuchus respects those who are willing to put everything on the line to become stronger, but most people simply do not have the necessary potential or opportunity. All they can do is choose who to pray to, but this assumes that there is a good choice to begin with. It's all a kind of concept that I don't really like, though I won't say that it's incoherent or anything.
Anyway, all that said, the last chapter for now is really something. Ah, Lee Geon making that face, damn... We finally see him get a bit stripped down emotionally. Yes, give me that backstory to add to my Lee Geon microwave spinning.

[Neo Kiyosu Palace]
As Ritsuka silently wandered the halls of her new and unfamiliar quarters, she eventually found herself completely lost in the upper ward of the palace. She’d tried to go back to bed already, and failed multiple times; something was off. She felt a tension in the air, as if she was still under that single mystic eye’s gaze…or that of the Avenger themselves.
So she got up, and began to explore, well past where she knew she was meant to. For whatever reason, she found herself moving further up the palace, as if her mind was shielded from a sensation that every part of body screamed was about to become an overwhelming threat - a threat that no god or devil could save you from.
Finally, just as Ritsuka began to wonder if this was all simply another nightmare, her breath caught in her throat as a familiar voice cut through the night from just a room away. The crackle of embers registered soon after as her senses were sharpened by adrenaline. Without a noise, Ritsuka began observing the room - a chamber of some sort filled with vaguely familiar artifacts, lit only by what little moonlight entered and the glowing outline of Maou’s eternally burning cape.
The demon king in question continued speaking to someone.
“You still haven’t answered my question. Why did you run in fear when I first approached?”
“...”
Silence was a response Nobunaga never imagined she’d receive from their own kin. All their life people had things to say about them. The detractors never ceased in their slander and objections to the Fool’s latest antics, the sycophants never ceased in their vain attempts to curry favor with their latest horse to bet on, and on the other side the Demon King’s own betrayers were always waiting with their latest excuses. Silence was rare for a warlord. Silence was the response reserved for those whose heads held thoughts worth holding onto….and so, it was a response they always thought unfamiliar to their brother, whose shortsightedness was always his worst, but in the most fateful moments his best, attribute.
But all such thoughts were as useless in a Lostbelt as contemplating the could and should haves, she supposed.
“...For one who wears most of my brother’s disappointing face, your actions bear little resemblance to the Nobukatsu of my world.”
The alleged Lostbelt King flinched - an act that brought a hint of a nostalgic smile to the Demon King’s face.
“Ah, there it is. That timidity is something I’m much more familiar with.” The smile disappeared just as quickly as Nobunaga spoke in a tone that even the eavesdropping Master rarely heard from them. “My brother was many things. Timid, naive, foolish, manipulable, even spineless…but he was never once a coward.”
Nobunaga planted their sheathe to the ground in a familiar pose - one that only such a fool as they described would mistake for ease.
And it was a mistake this new, one-eyed Nobukatsu clearly did not make, as his porcelain, almost sickly face paled even further in the moonlight. Even now, neither the outworld Master nor her Servant knew if they should believe his claims to Kingship; it was hard to imagine, seeing a boy so close in so many ways to the one they knew from their world claim to be this Lostbelt’s King.
But then he spoke, and as he had before, he spoke regularly with a conviction known to the boy of their world but once in his lifetime.
“The reason I ran when we first met was not because I was afraid of you.”
Nobunaga did not react, but they didn’t need to. Their doubt was implied from the start - it was the same doubt she always held when addressing her sibling, ever present in this world as it was the last. However, where the Nobukatsu they knew would protest and lose composure instantly, this one simply smiled a nostalgic smile of his own to mirror the Demon King’s, as if the very situation they were in was an act of comfort to him.
…And yet all the while, Ritsuka felt the same overwhelming sensation of dread in her stomach as the boy spoke again, more assertively this time.
“Please don’t think that for even a moment; I could never, in this life or any other, be afraid of you, sister!” There. That word. That exclamation.
Ritsuka knew it by heart. The way Nobukatsu had said it at that moment was the most familiar thing in this world to the Chaldean.
“The joy your presence brings me….words could never do it justice. I gave up so long ago trying to find a way to see you take form again. No power, be it magical or technological, seemed able to bring something back from beyond the pale unscathed, and even were it capable, I could never risk losing you a second time…”
The coals between the two glowed faintly, and Nobukatsu’s uncovered eye stared into the pit intently as Nobunaga remained silent, as if judging every word to come from the boy before them.
“Seeing you again, I was beside myself for the first time in centuries. I could barely think; I was so filled with an irrational joy at the opportunities and dread at the possibilities I could not sleep until we met a second time, and I could speak to you as a guest rather than the intruder I stupidly mistook you chaldeans for.”
There was a single, extremely weak chuckle. “E…Even now, I don’t know what to do with myself. I don’t know what to say. I don’t know what you would want me to say. I don’t know what I’m meant to do, or what any of this could even mean for us…”
Guilt tore through Ritsuka at the Lostbelt King’s words, and she was forcibly reminded of the very reason she could not sleep in the first place….here, in the hospitality of this world she was there to eradicate.
No such expressions or betrayals of emotion flickered across Nobunaga’s face, however. The warlord knew their brother in this or any other world. They knew this was nothing but a preface to confession.
“…But…Yes. I still haven’t answered your question, have I?” He looked up with a small smile of innocence. “Why I ran away-"
FWOOSH
Just like that, the tension inaudibly yet tangibly snapped, and the chill of death itself spread through the entire floor of the palace and likely beyond, as the sensation drove Ritsuka to nausea and she would surely have outed herself as she collapsed, were it not for the various clatters of the drapes and cracking of window glass echoing over the floorboards beneath her.
And from her unmoving stance, the Warlord looked down with something in their eyes the fading Ritsuka knew was novel to them - a mixture of wrath, uncertainty, and above all else, concern. “Brother, I will not repeat my question, nor will I restate my intent, for I could not possibly make clearer the deathly seriousness with which it was first presented. So answer me before I question why I should indulge you at all.”
Complete silence fell over the palace. No curtains billowing, no embers crackling, not even a breath from any of the three there that night.
Until slowly, the King spoke.
“....when I saw you, I was afraid, sister. And I… I still am. It wasn’t the shock of seeing you again that sent me running, nor the company you now keep, nor even the thought of you as an enemy.” Another weak and fleeting smile. “I know there is never a cause you could pledge yourself to that wasn’t more just and true than any other.”
The boy’s head fell, finally breaking away from his idol’s gaze as shadows fell across his face.
“...What put that fear in me….what terrifies me to my core, is that I felt fear at all - that I was uncertain from the start. I’m afraid because I would never fail to recognize you - whether this history or your own, I would never forget that smile.”
The king’s head bowed forward, a hand to his face as his voice cracked.
“So…please…if you’re my dear sister, from so long ago, please tell me…
…w-why…”
Drip
There was a drop. And then another. Each accompanied by the sound of evaporation against the coals of the room’s fire pit.
“……Why is it you look nothing like what I remember…?!”

Alrighty then! As I finished LB6 at....oh, 5am this morning -- because I got stuck on Cernunnos and went to bed early, and then couldn't sleep because I was stressing about finishing the LB before the Oberon banner -- it is time to once again sit my ass down and babble about my (possibly unusual? idk) take on Oberon Vortigern.
I'm gonna put my full thoughts beyond a cut but TL;DR -- I'm far, far more interested in the Vortigern part of him, and so my take and interpretation tends to focus on that side of him, and on looking at PHH Vortigern as well. (Not that Oberon isn't an intrinsic part of him as well; it's just that I tend to look at him as more "Vortigern wearing Oberon" more than "Oberon who is also Vortigern".)
So when I was....oh god. Very young. Four? Five? An incredibly small child, I know that much. I was given a picture book. See, my mom is a huge, huge, huge fan of Arthuriana, I cannot count how many books she's got on the topic. That's one of her two big loves, Arthuriana and Robin Hood (which is a whole other kettle of FGO fish, me and my dear outlaw, for another time). Anyway, she got me a book. Merlin and the Dragons by Jane Yolen -- I'll link you guys to an audiobook version on youtube, it's of course a kid's book and very short, and gorgeously illustrated, but that's not the important part. The important part is, well, the story. The story of little Emrys, King Vortigern and his tower, and the two dragons. That was, I think, my very first exposure to Arthuriana, and I was immediately in love. That story in particular captured my attention, and ever since then I've been extremely obsessed with interested in Vortigern. The Charlie Hunnam/Guy Ritchie King Arthur movie is my favorite King Arthur movie I've ever seen solely because Vortigern is there (and Jude Law kills it, ok?). So, of course, two years ago when Oberon first dropped and I saw him on the FGO Wiki, I was mildly interested -- until I saw his full True Name, and then I was immediately sold. Oberon is one thing, but Oberon Vortigern? Yes, please, give me all the details.
And as I read more about FGO's Vortigern, especially the retcons they gave in FGO about what he is (compared to the very old Garden of Avalon LN) -- that he was born of Britain's will of self-destruction to preserve the Age of Magic and prevent the dying out of Mystics, that he was born both human and not -- I was so fascinated, especially when I read more about Oberon Vortigern, and I drew parallels between their situations.
In essence, both of them -- PHH and Lostbelt Vortigerns -- are an exercise in contradictions. Two diametrically opposed things inside one being.
For PHH Vortigern, he was born as a human, Uther's brother and Artoria's uncle -- but he was also born as the avatar of Britain's will, the White Dragon. Unlike Artoria as the Red Dragon, who was meant to protect humanity, Vortigern was supposed to protect Mystics and the Age of Magic, to destroy humanity...but at the same time, he was in part human. Holmes, in the introduction to LB6 Part 2, says it best despite talking about Morgan:
It's unclear if PHH Vortigern had a faerie aspect (and admittedly, quite frankly the fact that his successor Morgan did makes me look at Oberon and go hmmm in that regard), but even so the same comment still applies: his human aspect and his aspect that was Britain's avatar were irreconcilable. And unlike Morgan, it seems as if he didn't partition them off (or couldn't?) and...well, we know how that went, if that part of the LN is any indication. Or hell, looking at Salter or Lalter. Man probably went a little crazy.
And by the same token, Lostbelt Vortigern is the same way-- but rather than 'man vs mystic' it's a matter of 'truth vs lies'. His identity as Vortigern is intrinsically altered and changed by the aspect of Oberon placed on top of it. And while I absolutely agree that the Welsh faeries did not, as some people think, 'brainwash' him, and he was both from the start...they absolutely were the reason he is Oberon Vortigern.
Now it's not explicitly stated, but more or less to me this implies that the chrysalis, when it got up, had been shaped by the desires and wishes of the Welsh faeries who had been awaiting a 'perfect fairy tale king' -- Oberon Vortigern even mentions the flotsam that Morgan let wash up as likely the source of that particular notion.
After all, if he was truly 100% a 'Lostbelt Faerie King Oberon', he wouldn't be affected by either Titania's (non)existence or the lying Thing brought on by the circumstances of the play.
I think the distinction I make, like I said above the cut, is that he's not "Oberon who is also Vortigern" so much as he's "Vortigern who was given the mask of Oberon". The White Dragon, the Abyssal Wyrm (they used that spelling once they should have kept it, it makes perfect sense!) at his core, but rather than wearing the face of a human King of the Saxons, he's wearing the face of a faerie King of Wales. Oberon Vortigern rather than Vortigern Pendragon. Oberon is the type of Vortigern he is, shaped by nurture/environment at birth, rather than the nature of what he is at the core.
That's why he's a Pretender -- he's Vortigern pretending to be the Faerie King so hard it's impossible to tell anymore what's a lie and what's not, rather than the other way around.
EDIT TO ADD: I was going through my screenshots again (because a bitch literally screencapped every line of dialogue in the finale) and:
Forgot he'd just, uh, said it outright. "I am Vortigern using the face of Oberon the Faerie King from Proper Human History," huh. Granted, man's a liar by nature, but... (not to mention, I notice, that the way he phrases his description of Vortigern doesn't match the LB, because in the LB the Age of Mystics never ended. One wonders, then, if Vortigern himself is -- to borrow computer metaphors from Nasu -- basically a 'universal program' from the inner sea reused with different shells depending on the situation, given Albion itself sits in on the border of all realities, and he is also the same Vortigern as PHH, just in a different form for this particular usage.)
Either way and in any case, as he's said, Oberon Vortigern is also a contradiction: Vortigern wants -- no, is born to -- destroy the Lostbelt, while Oberon wants to destroy PHH for Titania. That's the contradiction. The object truth of PHH over the lies, the story of the Lostbelt. And, as with 'Man vs Mystic', that's irreconcilable. And thus, his misery, his pain, his disgust at his own existence and everything else.
I'm sure approaching it from the Oberon side has similar conclusions to be drawn, but it's fascinating to me taking it from the Vortigern side and looking at PHH Vortigern, especially given the discussion of him in the early parts of LB6 and the presence of Melusine/Albion. As well as Oberon Vortigern's relationship with Merlin, given PHH Vortigern absolutely has to have ties with him given the main myth Vortigern comes up in. (Points emphatically at Dinas Emrys in Wales.)
Anyway! I would kill a man for a PHH Vortigern alt Servant (Ruler or Avenger calling it now), and I have a lot of personal headcanons for my own Master OC's specific in-universe version of Oberon Vortigern, but in general, I love looking at him from this perspective.
....
And really, though, they should've kept it as Abyssal Wyrm.
GO BACK AND MAKE IT WYRM AGAIN, LASENGLE. WYRMS ARE LIMBLESS DRAGONS, IT'S LITERALLY A WORM-WYRM, IT MAKES SENSE, IT FITS, IT'S PERFECT DOUBLE MEANINGS. [riots, coughs]

“ is it getting bad again? ” / Vortigern :>
For the heavy hearted.
It is Vortigern's back that is turned towards Merlin, Vortigern's hands that are gripping his own arms in some sort of bizarre embrace, only to let go with a sudden tremor. Yet, when he turns to look at Merlin, it is brown and pink hair framing kind features and healthy skin, and it's Oberon meeting his gaze.
"No no, see how it is?" he tut-tuts at Merlin, an index finger wiggling in the air between them in disproval, "It is been a while since we last spoke. Take a seat and listen for a while. It is my turn now. I said sit down."
The smile never stutters but the inflection of his voice leaves no place no arguments. Oberon himself takes no seat, leaning his back against the wall behind him and crossing his arms over his chest, hands gripping his biceps in a similar way Vortigern had been doing moments ago. His eyes flutter shut, bushy lashes brushing pinkish cheekbones, a gentle smile to his lips. Yet, there's a certain air and feeling to the room, a finality to the tone of his voice as he continues to speak.
"I've known you before the first flower flourished at your feet. I've known him before the first fruit rotted in his hands. I've known you both since the first light and the last shadow. I was there when your two gazes crossed for first time, I was there when you turned your back. I was there when the sword was pulled from the stone, and I was there when the lance pierced him and you watched the light leave his eyes. I was always there. Vortigern Pendragon hasn't always been me, but I have always been Vortigern Pendragon. Human notions like time, space, and reality mean nothing to a Great Parent."
Great parents, the greatest classification of faeries. Just as Caster, once called Arturia, just as Morgan, once called Vivian. Born directly from the inner sea with a purpose greater than themselves. For Morgan it was to save Britain, which she was shunned by the planet for abandoning and naming herself Morgan, demoted to a shadow of what she once was as the Inner Sea created a new daughter, Arturia, later named Caster, with the same purpose.
Oberon's purpose, however, was way more obscure, shrouded in darkness and light in equal measure.
"I was always there, through everything, not only you and him. I saw, and did. Was it good fortune, that your child never found wild beasts whenever he ventured alone into the woods? Was it cheer luck, that when terribly hungry and gorging on berries, he never found himself poisoned? Was it coincidence, that when lost at night the fireflies would light the way out for him?"
"Dragons are my children too. The ones like him, shining so bright, could never pass my attention. So I aided him, little as I could, shackled to Avalon and conditioned to Vortigern's Pendragon very existence as I was. I did everything I could to aid, to ease his journey. To see him reach the end, and his dream. It was for naught. I asked you— I commanded you to protect Caster, to protect my— Vortigern's— our daughter, so that she would not end up like your King. She did. You failed. Such as you failed Arthur Pendragon as well."
He gives him a snide smile, and there's something different about it now, something closer to Vortigern's cruelty than Oberon's kindness. Suddenly, the air seems too cold, the shadows of Oberon's face too deep and pronounced, making his face more similar to the one he last sported right at the end of the British Lostbelt. And when he speaks his mouth to speak, there are insects writhing under his tongue and clinging at his throat, and Avalon shifts.
"I break the pact, accepting of any punishment that befalls me. I reject you. Begone. Avalon has no place for sin. Thou art more human than fairy, and humans are not of my kin. Vivian, Caster. They are both gone. I am the first Great Father who frees you, I am the last Great Mother who shuns you. Cambion you remain, but never to curse our home again. Thou shalt wander the earth along humanity for all eternity, until you and them have redeemed themselves from their sins, until every drop of water has given pass to grains of sand and until every light has dimmed on the night sky. Repent. The Fae King Oberon Vortigern curses you so."

Fate/Dread: Bad Ending/Chaldea AU
So this is a concept I've had in my head for a while now and have been chatting about it with Aki on and off but I decided I might as well make an outline for this idea too. The bad ending part would be a proper ending option to Dread but the Chaldea portion is more of a silly AU idea that branches off from the bad ending with the help of some headcanons and incorporating FGO canon to fit with it.
>Bad ending stems from Sakura's route, so Dark Sakura is a major player with it, heavily inspired by Stay Night's Mind of Steel ending.
>In this timeline, Dreadkuno loses their servant, most likely to Dark Sakura, and is in full desperation mode to try and win the grail before Amnesia Syndrome ends their life through any means, at this point, Dreadkuno is so sickly looking, they could be mistaken for a walking corpse.
>Eventually, they stumble into Kirei, who is in full "Angra is gonna awaken and I really want to see people suffer" mode and decides to mock Dreadkuno for basically risking their life in a war and killing people all for it to end up pointless.
>Through his taunting, Kirei mentions his artifical black heart and direct link to Angra Mainyu, breifly mentioning that Dreadkuno COULD have survived if she only gave into Angra's whims. Then, Dreadkuno gets a very horrific idea.
>They ambush Kirei, who is under the assumption Dreadkuno is too weak to harm him and eventually rip out his black heart to consume it in an attempt to connect to Angra solely to survive. It sort of works, but not fully. Angra tells Dreadkuno they'd need to assimilate with him properly, but to do that, they'd need to consume the heart of the person who is destined to merge with Angra already; Sakura.
>So after this point Dreadkuno is in complete survival mode. Pushing aside any opposition, even going so far as to throw off Rin, Shirou and Medusa so they can get to Sakura first.
>At some point they suceed in reaching her before the others after sneaking past Salter who is occupied with Shirou and Medusa, a fight breaks out between them and Sakura, and Dreadkuno eventually wins with the help of Erosion, and a replicated Excalibur of their own.
>The real depressing point is that I think Sakura here would come to her senses, but it would be too late as Dreadkuno has gone past the point of return, even if they hate themselves for it. But the fear of death is too strong.
>The deed is done, and they essentially become a Dark Hakuno, I picture them still looking borderline zombified with a pale complexion and cold skin, but they would no longer be slowly dying.
>The major physical difference comes in the fact that Dreadkuno's sclera turn completely black, pupils now glow yellow, and black grail mud leaks from their eyes like tears, and potentially their mouth when stressed.
>Shit only gets worse from here. Shirou eventually makes it to the scene, but he's too late. Another fight breaks out which here would replace Shirou's fist fight with Kirei in Heaven's Feel proper.
>Shirou sadly dies trying to defeat with majorly mana boosted Dreadkuno, and Angra awakens.
>Angra, as you'd expect, decimates Fuyuki, and most likely the rest of the world in time after he awakens, all humans in Fuyuki disappear and the remaining servants become blackened.
>All that's left now is a corrupted Dreadkuno, Salter, who's servant contract had been passed to Dreadkuno after Sakura's death, and Angra Mainyu, All the World's Evils, now teasing Dreadkuno for their choice. They survived, and will live for a very long time, at the cost of everything and everyone else.
CHALDEA AU PORTION
Ok so this is where the crazy, potentially non-canon stuff starts
>In this concept, the remnants of Dread's Fuyuki is in reality, SIngularity F. The Singularity as FGO's story goes on eventually morphs into a Lostbelt with Angra as the King and Dreadkuno the Crypter
>Cue the proper events of SIngularity F in FGO's storyline. Nothing really changes, except for Ritsuka feeling as if they, Mash and Olga are being watched.
>After Chaldea *supposedly* destroys the Singularity after Salter is defeated and Olga dies, Dreadkuno swoops in and saves Salter at the last second, watching Olga's death and being genuinely freaked out.
>This is where eventually the Alien God stuff would start, the Alien God offers Dreadkuno a chance to reverse their horrible mistake in destroying their timeline if they agree with helping the Alien God descend, and Dreadkuno accepts. Of course, Dreadkuno is more or less a double agent, planning to betray the Alien God's forces once she finds an alternate way to save Fuyuki, her loved ones, and destroy Angra through dimensional travel.
>She entrusts guarding Fuyuki to Salter, re-equips her Morgause disguise, and heads off.
>Her primary mission from the Alien God is to more directly assist Chaldea from behind the scenes in dismantling Goetia's Incineration plan, so she'd randomly show up throughout the Singularities briefly, until having a more direct presence in Camelot.
>She'd claim to be Morgan Le Fay and act as a cheeky guide towards Chaldea, very much confusing Bedivere in the process. She'd avoid Lancelot like the plague but would help in the final battle by facing off against Mordred.
>She would only be implied to be present in Babylonia, not only wanting to avoid Gil and Merlin, but as well as getting freaked out by Ishtar and running away. Dreadkuno would also have small roles in Shimousa and Salem, still giving Ritsuka cryptic hints about the future.
>Cue the Lostbelt arc, where she appears in the prologue alongside Kirei and Koyan, shocking Chaldea because their strange friend was really only using them to stop Goetia. However, throughout the Lostbelt up to LB6, Dreadkuno would never be directly hostile towards Chaldea. She'd fight them occasionally but would always give the excuse that she got bored and leave, but not before giving Ritsuka another cryptic hint on how to handle the various Lostbelts.
>Lostbelt 6 is where she'd actually become hostile, Basically the whole story for her in LB6 is that she was originally sent with Muramasa to kill Morgan as Britain was a threat to the Alien God. Since she's already a double agent, she defects to Morgan's side and ends up getting attached to her and Baobhan Sith. Eventually she gets shot back in time with Mash, becomes Tonelico's companion, and dedicates her time there to seeing Morgan's wish to fruition as the British Lostbelt wouldn't affect her world of Fuyuki, only Chaldea's. So, as she's fending off Chaldea's forces and protecting Camelot, her mask is destroyed and true messed up borderline dead face is revealed. Then when Morgan is killed, she just decides fuck it this world isn't worth saving if Morgan isn't here to rule it, basically killing every fairy in the throne room once she makes it there. The Lostbelt fairies are so bad that she becomes absolutely disgusted by them, realizing that even after Morgan's rule, they're still as bad as humans.
>She assists Chaldea from that point on, joining them fully. I imagine after Knocknarea dies and Chaldea plans to escape is when she confronts them, looking absolutely defeated.
>From then on LB6 goes on as usual, Dreadkuno follows Chaldea to Avalon, helps defeat the Calamitys, fights Cernunnos with a heartfelt goodbye to Baobhan Sith afterwards, and then wants to murder Oberon after learning he is kinda sorta Vortigern. I also think in this AU, Dreadkuno is the one to kill Beryl as she HATES him. Probably also offed Douman in Heian Kyo prior.
>She convinces Chaldea to let her stay by offering help to defeat Koyan in Tunguska, follows to Traum, begrudgingly befriends Charlemagne, and finally, gets constantly roasted in LB7 because Kingprotea thinks she is Moon Cell Hakuno, has another heart attack seeing Ereshkigal, and gets scared shitless trying to deal with ORT and a friendly U-Olga Marie. She'd def help with the Rhongomyniad Cannon Chaldea used to kill ORT.
>And that's mainly the Chaldea AU so far. For some minor stuff though: She wouldn't have any real presence in Ordeal Call 1 for obvious reasons, would get credited by Ritsuka in helping save Draco in Lilim Harlot, much to her confusion (because it was actually Moon Hakuno of course), and would end up Morgan's right-hand man in the Summer Festival.
>A time would come where Chaldea ventures back to Singularity F and Dreadkuno would unfortunately return to being an antagonist to fulfill her original plan. Lostbelt King Ahriman Angra would be pretty sick to be honest.

Fate for the fandom ask!
WEH THANK YOU ANON!!!!!! I haven't spoken about Fate in a while so this is'll be fun :DD !! because the Fate series is large and vast, i'll just stick to the one that i'm most familiar with, which is Fate Grand Order!
send me a fandom!
Favourite Female: now i have the opposite problem here, but if i have to choose one, it'd be Ereshkigal !!! she's super duper cute and the best girl! also because of the many AUs my friend and I love to make, she's grown on me! (i'm never beating the blond liker allegations)
Favourite Male: IS THIS EVEN A QUESTION AT THIS POINT !!!!!! OF COURSE IT'D BE MY BABYGIRL, MY WIFE, THE KING OF HEROES, THE FIRST HEROIC SPIRIT !!!!!!!!!! THE KING OF BABYLONIA HIMSELF !!!!!!!!!!!!! i love all his versions unconditionally, they are all my wives.
3 Other Favourite Characters:
OH THERES TOO MANY!!! I can't just list another three and cover all of them but if I really have to choose HJBEBFH!!
I have a soft spot for Arthur Pendragon (Prototype), he's just so cute to me... plus I do ship him and archer!Gil, so thats one of the reasons why i love him so much HJREBFHJERF. (Still holding out for his alter version in game)
The next one is everyone's favourite sussy big brother !! MERLIN!!! I honestly think he's so cool, and I wish FGO explores him more!!! But in the same time, i think his vague story kind of opens him up to a lot of interpretations, which is fitting for his lore!!
Uhh uh uh uh uh, shit I'm gonna have to put in Charlie for this one !!! he's literally my boyfriend, i can't just NOT put him on the list at some point !!! i honestly didn't know what was all the hype about him until i played fate CCC, and then i got so attached and cried when i reached the end of the story. LIKE BRO????? so yes now I have him on fgo, and im so happy im gonna grail him as soon as the next lottery event comes around!!
3 OTPs: Pusagil/Arthurgil, Mergil and uh uh uh uh Lucigil!! (Lucius Tiberius x Gilgamesh). These are all quite random but I promise you guys this, they do make sense in my head!!!! so thats all that matters!!!
Notp: Anything that involves top!Gil :(((( usually gets blocked by me hjbRBEFRF
Funniest character: Everyone has caused me to laugh eventually, but I'm gonna say it's a tie between Cu and Gil !!! Especially Cu during Carnival Phantasm has caused me immense abdominal pain HERFJHREF
Prettiest character: OHH this is a bit hard, since there's so many that's actually pretty in my eyes!!! But if I have to choose, it's definitely Jeanne!!! She caught my eye when I played Orleans for the first time and now with her new animation update, I'm gonna try to get her!! (hopefully HBJERF)
Most Annoying Character: BB. I really don't like BB. I like all the other Sakurafaces though, its just that.... BB is so annoying.
Most badass character:
UUGHHH THERE'S SO MANY CHARACTERS THAT ARE BADASS!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm in love with so so so many !!! Especially from the Lostbelt Arc, like there's so many characters that were so badass and it just has my jaw on the floor. But if I really must choose,,, I guess I'll mention my favourite 4* !! my favourite FtM lancer, Caenis !!!
Character I’d like as my BFF:
OH THERES SO MANY!!! I'd say all of them would make such nice friends !!! But if I have to choose uhh, I'd say HaoHao!! (Yang Guifei~!) she's so super duper cute!!!!
Female Character I’d Marry: Siduri. NO ONE TOUCH ME, I WANT TO MARRY MISS SIDURI!!!! I LOVE MISS SIDURI OKAY!!!!! but alas, because of her..... condition .... i think the most ideal woman to marry would be Queen Morgan herself. Sure, she's a bit yandere, but at least she'd treat me right!
Male Character I’d Marry: CHARLIE MY LOVE <3 <3 <3 <3 when I say he's my boyfriend I do mean it JHERBFBHJERF we will be wed one day i promise this
Character I hate/dislike/least like: If I ever see Beryl, ITS ON FUCKING SIGHT !!!!!!!! I WILL THROW THE PUNCHES FIRST !!!

𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 “𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞” 𝐈 𝐠𝐞𝐭, 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐓𝐕 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐲 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐞. / @caemthe
𝐌𝐨𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐳𝐮𝐦𝐚 𝐈𝐈
Animal motif: jaguar! a reference to not only Tezcatlipoca but also to the Ocelomeh (Ocelotl in singular and Ocelomeh in plural; jaguar warriors. They were basically members of the Aztec military elite) to whom he's the leader of.
Back from the dead: it's his second chance at life! "Moctezuma II, the unfortunate ruler of the Aztec Empire during its fall to Hernán Cortés' conquest. Having felt pity for his betrayal and terrible end, Tezcatlipoca had summoned Moctezuma into the South American Lostbelt for a second chance at life."
God in human form: technically he is Tezcatlipoca's impersonator! Putting a small parenthesis to fgo; to the Mexica, this person was called the 'Ixiptla' who for one year was seen as the god (in this case Tezcatlipoca) on earth. They were highly respected and seen as the god, and at the end of the year, they were sacrificed. Despite this, being the deity's impersonator was seen as an incredibly high honor and not a tragedy or something bad like how we would think in the present (this sacrifice just like death in battle was like the absolute honor). Real Moctezuma wasn't an Ixiptla in this sense, but I think that for the fictional narrative, it was an interesting choice especially considering the second reason as of why he was summoned by Tezcatlipoca (besides him taking pity of how his life ended) which i won't say how it ends bc it'll be spoiler
Rage helm: except that in this case, even if you take off his mask he is still frowning !
Perpetual frown: Rarely will you see him not looking angry or frowning even if he's literally just vibin' . Sometimes this scares people away and it doesn't help that he tends to have airs of grandeur moments (tm) sometimes (king moment), but when you get to know him, he's pretty considerate and chill person ! U just have to ignore his king-ly traits at first
Clean freak: inspired by his real counterpart, my Mocte is very much into cleanliness and tidyness. On a single glance u think he wears the same black body suit all the time but then u open his closet and he just has a bunch of exact same copies of it. U will not catch him wearing the same clothes he did again till 4-5 days or the next week. He's like that one lil robot in wall-E that can't stand stains, u leave a ketchup stain over the counter and even if it doesn't involve him, you'll see him going like -SCRUBS-
War is glorious: Or more specifically speaking; death in war. 'Dying in war was the highest honor and was something that was longed for. The concepts of war and sacrifice responded to the needs of cohesion and reproduction of society, by dying in war or through sacrifice, the warrior would be able to pay the gods their mythical sacrifice which had given origin to life'. Mocte is not devoid of this line of thinking.
Foreshadowing: goes by the name Izcalli when first introduced and then his true name is revealed; Moctezuma II the last Aztec emperor (which he's technically not really -the- last, as two other rulers succeeded him after his death but their reigns were quite short-lived so it's not uncommon to see him referred as the last)
#caemthe#;m.octezuma ii#;headcanons#headcanons#;about#about#/THANKS FOR SENDING THIS IN L.IRIIII#i extended it a lil bit bc im biased but but but but-#took inspo from t.ezca's page

Astraea's Interlude aka Beating Forgiveness into Bedivere
Finally!! Astraea's Interlude is released in the NA version which means we get to help Bedi with his remaining hang-ups.
I suppose it's too much to ask for any more Bedivere appearances in the main story considering he already got a chapter all to his own, but I sure am going to jump at any chance to see him in other events, so I'm super glad I got Astraea during this year's Valentines. Now onto the Interlude!
Long post, so I'll put it all below under the cut, and this goes without saying, but spoilers for Astraea's Interlude and general Lostbelt and Camelot Chapter plot points!
Right from the start of the 2nd segment which features Bedivere, there is already one detail that tears at my heart - this background of open fields is the same one as Bedivere's own Interlude, because it's the view which reminds him of his failure to save Princess Helena from the Giant of Saint Mont Michel. I'm not sure how intentional it is, but I'm fairly sure this was a deliberate choice.
Before we get to resolving Bedi's issues though, Astraea comments on Ritsuka's first. Another similarity between Ritsuka and Bedivere, really, the fact that they feel guilt for something they've done/are doing and man Ritsuka needs a LOT of therapy when all of this is over.
He....;__;
Oh, btw...I never noticed it before, only when I read TV Tropes, but the nickname "Bedi" isn't actually used in game during Camelot. Merlin does use "Bedi" if you ask him about sending Bedivere in the Babylonia chapter, but not Ritsuka.
Ritsuka calls Bedivere that in the movie adaptations though, and it got backported into the game in this Interlude. (I do have a bit of a laugh at that, the fact that Ritsuka/Gudao nicknamed Bedivere in the movies and Bedivere just rolled with it, no questions asked).
What you do have the choice of calling Bedivere once in the Camelot chapter is "Beddy".
"Beddy" makes me think of "teddy" in teddy bear lol. Teddybear - Bedivere sound awfully similar now that I think about it...
Cue me jumping in the background saying, "How was he to know it was going to turn Artoria into a jerkass goddess??"
While it it true that the Lion King is a truly warped existence of Artoria...poor Bedivere never heard her last words, if he did maybe it could have relieved him of his guilt, but he already dissipated by the time the Lion King said this.
In a strange way...Bedivere actually did save something of himself in making that choice, because it led him to meeting Chaldea and in turn, being heroic enough to be recorded in the Throne of Heroes. But of course he wouldn't see it that way.
The fact that Ritsuka's dialogue choices are pretty much screaming "Don't beat yourself up for this!" tho - gahh, my heart!!!
I would have to be willfully blind to ignore the terrible things in Camelot, because so many people did die (Rushd's mother just being one of them) but I stand by the fact that Bedivere did nothing wrong, ever.
All half-jokes aside, I think it would be more painful to have caused so much damage when you did it with good intentions.
...I really don't like it, but I guess beating self-forgiveness into Bedivere is a good option at this point.
In this battle, Bedivere starts out with "Feeling Guilty" which lowers his ATK and DEF every turn. Also, I defeated him quickly with the Asvatthaman I borrowed, but I don't think he uses Calm and Collected, he only ever used Oath of Protection as a skill.
I'm so so sorry for beating you up with fiery hot wheels man my sweet Bedivere -
Even if it was for your own good -
Astraea says a lot of stuff here, but basically it goes, "Uh, no, man. We're here to help you. You're good."
I'm not quite sure I agree with everything Astraea said here, but in this case what Bedivere really was looking for was absolution. Taking into consideration his character as the knight of loyalty, I guess he couldn't get rid of the nagging feeling that a punishment had to be handed to him, it's the only way he could make up for his mistake. Though really, he's not alone in that regard, Lancelot and Tristan have the same mentality when it comes to their failures to their King.
I do wish all of the KotR will be allowed to move on from that hang-up, but time will tell if they'll get that character development. Mordred seems to have moved away from that fixation with Artoria in her writing out of all of the KotR I currently have.
And we finally get to this point - the matter really was Bedivere's remaining sense of regret.
I wonder if canonically, Astraea suplexed Bedivere before giving him this therapy talk. Must have been one heck of a therapy session.
Ha, but Bedivere poking fun at Astraea is great.
And seeing him smile at the end is so sweet!
Ahhh, and the fact that when Astraea compliments Bedivere's show of courage, Ritsuka sounds so proud, like, hell yeah, that's my boy!!!
We love and support our one armed silver knight in this household...even if the love and support comes in the form of justice suplexes at times. So glad to finally see this Interlude play out but uh, I actually have to finish it and see if there's any more Bedi appearances lol, I was way too excited to post my thoughts that I haven't even finished the whole thing lol. And even then I pretty much hit the limit for images in one post, whoops. This scene was just too good though, I feel bad for cutting out some of the screenshots because it's already so long as it is.

what do u MEAN they don't go over the guy that's literally the LOSTBELT KING what DO YOU MEAN THEY SKIP OUT ON GODJUNA LIKE THAT, HES THE GUY I WANT TO KNOW MOST OF NOOOOOOO
WELCOME TO MY EVERLASTING PAIN AND AGONY
the saddest thing is that there’s like. Tiny glimmers of stuff to work with it’s just they don’t do anything with it (you could theoretically make a decent parallel with him and Asha, there’s some interesting stuff re: the lokpala he ends up summoning and why they might’ve been the ones he chose, the whole reason why he did what he did in the first place (and the fact he ended up the way he did has extreme tragedy vibes)) but they mostly just treat him as an end boss to defeat its el depressó especially because even with how little he gets he seems to have a pretty painful backstory
#this is why I never take anyone who says juna got an alt and chapter dedicated to him so his fans shouldn’t be so noisy stupid tbh#yeah lb4 had him as the king#HE ALSO WAS THE LOSTBELT KONG WITH SOME OF THE LEAST AMOUNT OF EXPLORSTION INTO HIM#and it was right after lb3 where the king was like basically the main character as well lol#cough. anyway#my asks#tbh there’s a lot of unsatisfying stuff w him esp#like they wanted the big showdown w him and karn but karn is out of action for literally 90% of the lostbelt#like. do you not think having a guy who knew him see what the lostbelt was like and what had happened to him would be good characterization#for either of them??? huh???#i should go through my meta tag#Arjuna posting#was that it???#and b4 someone asks re him and Asha:#she loses her entire family#and he presumably does as well (his siblings and wives should’ve lived through the war but it’s suggested he was#if they had ANY guts they’d have paralleled the two. both made alone through forces outside their control but one because the other had#become what he wanted to destroy#at least the from lostbelt manga let them talk to each other
