Our Top 5 Systems In Media

As we all know DID/OSDD rep has never been the best in media. So we figured we'd share our favorite systems in media! This will be characters diagnosed with DID/OSDD or just plural coded. Gotta spread the positivity you know?

Number 5: Venom & Eddie Brock

Marvel Comics / Venom

Venom and Eddie were the reason we started reading comics in the first place! They're an amazing love story. But also an amazing system story. Learning how to share a body and work together. It's self love but also romantic love! And yes it's canonically romantic don't you dare try to deny it. They have like 8 kids bro.

Number 4: Heart, Mind, & Soul

Chonny's Charming Chaos Compendium

Now these songs are fire that we have on so so many playlists. As far as we know Chonny isn't plural but still ended up writing a story about human duality that also encompasses plurality quite well. This system feels most relatable to us and how we operate as an OSDD system.

Number 3: Shimada Kayn & Rhaast

League Of Legends / Heartsteel

Specifically we want to mention their Heartsteel versions where it is heavily hinted that Kayn has DID in this universe and Rhaast is an alter. This does a cool thing we like in League where they creatively use magic to code in disabilities in the main universe but then actually keep those disabilities in the more realistic skinlines. Like Aphelios staying mute In Heartsteel for example. We just love the banter Kayn and Rhaast have. And also their part in the song is the best.

Number 2: Asa Mitaka & Yoru

Chainsaw Man

We absolutely love these two! We originally read the manga for Makima but were pleasantly surprised when Denji took a backseat in arc two and Asa and Yoru became the protagonists! The way they both start to care for each other more overtime is very sweet. It's nice seeing them embrace each others' sides a bit more. Asa becomes more confident while Yoru learns compassion. We can't wait until they make it into the anime one day. Even if that's in 20 years at this rate.

Number 1: Marc Spector, Steven Grant, & Jake Lockley

Moon Knight

Specifically we want to talk about show Moon Knight. The comics are fine but we absolutely prefer silly sweet cinnamon roll Steven over Bruce Wayne wannabe. But more importantly the story of DID in Moon Knight is so incredibly important. We actually rewatched it soon after discovering our system. Seeing Marc and Steven learn how to integrate and work together to be Moon Knight is so emotional and powerful. It serves as inspiration and hope that we could achieve that one day. Obviously there's some stuff played up for Hollywood, but for the most part it's a very accurate representation of plurality based on our own experiences and other's we've seen online. Obviously not everyone agrees, but it seems rather well received for the most part!

Oh my god! How could we forget Sun, Moon, and Eclipse? The literally "us frfr" characters! Everyone's favorite canonically autistic skrunkly! We've seen some debates on if The Daycare Attendant perpetuates the "evil alter" stereotype. We can certainly agree it's a fine rope to walk, but the way Sun and Moon are written is interesting enough. It's hinted Moon isn't exactly himself at the moment. Moon is also just supposed to play the villain in theatre shows! They're theatre kids, quite fun!

firstly i haven't even watched descendants until last year when my friend forced me to and i absolutely fell in love with it

my favorite movie is def the second one, but my ranking goes two, three, then one. uma's crew brings exactly what it needed and i love them so much

speaking of yellow my dorm at auradon is more yellow than lavender because its my favorite color :)

there's a lot of majors but i have no idea what i want to major in yet so i'm still figuring it all out

we actually use magic in auradon! i think magic is so central and our parents definitely passed their magic onto us so we get to use it

also in carona we have a lantern ceremony for my birthday and it is so beautiful i get emotional every time

so we celebrate my birthday and the day my mom was found, there's other festivals as well to celebrate things like harvest and fall <3

i am shifting to the first movie, specifically the day that the vks are coming to auradon!

i love to meet people and experience all of that so i get to meet the vks with ben and help show them around

i convinced him to propose his vk plan <3

in the second movie i also go to the isle with ben and we both get kidnapped!

i made a tiktok about this but i literally follow him and wind up being taken as well- oops

third movie i'm with jane for her birthday and meet up with everyone in the woods like in the movie

so yeah other than that its like super close to the movies

i headcanon that sq (and the other executives) are around 5-7 years older than i think they are supposed to be. when i read the books i pictured them as like… teacher aged i guess? like sq 24 in book 1. martina i pictured 17 and j&j 26. cuz that’s still pretty young really. i hc that they stop being able to message around 17-18 and that they worked for a few years as executives before book 1

I think I first watched xiaolin showdown when it aired on tv when I was a kid. I have very little memories of it (I probably didn't get to watch much) but I rmr I always wanted to do a proper, full watchthrough someday. I procrastinated on doing that for several years but when I finally did watch it I got invested almost immediately. the thing that hooked me in the most was def the character writing and their dynamics. it's the best thing abt the show for me

also sometime before that watchthrough I learned raimundo was brazilian just like me frfr and I was 1. very surprised (I must have somehow missed every episode of the show as a kid that mentions that fact. which includes the very first episode lol) and 2. very happy bc omg holy shit brazil mention !!!!

honestly xs is a show with a lot of highs and lows (a lot of lows …) but it is undeniably great at sparking creativity (even if that creativity manifests itself in the form of fix-it fics sometimes) and I still feel attached to my favorite characters from the show ngl. shoutout to raimundo pedrosa. love that guy

One aspect I love: how much he cares for those he loves and how he is made up of each of them. everyone he has ever loved is part of the picture that is shadow, makes up every atom of his being.

One aspect I wish more people understood about them: his whole character arc is about self-autonomy and doing what he wants to do, not because others have told him to do. sth is a series about finding personal freedom and sonic helps those around him find their way to achieve that specific freedom. for shadow, it's moving on and not letting the promises made to those who have long since passed dictate who he is or what he does. not letting anyone dictate his path. it's about passing on from grief and starting fresh, while still honoring those you have loved. there's a reason why majority of his villains have all wanted to control shadow in some shape or form. gerald, eggman using him as the basis for the androids, black doom, mephiles, even infinite. and each time he comes back, reasserting himself and piecing himself together. im gonna cut this off here bc i am way too wordy when it comes to shadow the hedgehog.

One (or more) headcanon(s) I have about them: he's actually shorter but his air shoes give him extra height the airshoes are actually mobility devices!! so bugsnax is this game about these bugs that are. snacks!! they're all these kinds of food. strawby and bunger are their main marketer snaxs, however there are sooo many bugsnax. my favorite is the noodler and the sandopede, and the spicy bunger but i love them all so much so those are just a few. but i do like the spicy bunger the most....

now thats how we get to floofty... you see bugsnax is primarly marketed towards kids and teenagers. meaning its pretty child friendly while dipping into serious themes, but handling them respectfully. and because of this instead of humans, they got grumpuses!! they're all muppet looking little furry creatures and i love them dearly. just like me frfr.

floofty is one of these grumpuses!! they're one of the characters you meet on the island, however they're further fleshed out later on in the game. they seem very mean, pushy and condesencing at first, but that's because they're used to their accomplishments and scientific endeavors being ignored, shunned and discouraged. once people actually show that they find interest, they can in fact be rather sweet!!! they've built up this protective shield because they have raelly macabre scientitic persuits. like... canonically chopping off their leg to study bugsnax and eating a little bit of that leg... but again once they find people who get it they can be rather nice.

and... floofty is literally so cute they're my favorite i wanna MWAH MWHA MHWA MHAW. in the dlc you literally blow dust at them and they start screaming "the goggles do nothing!!!" tghey're canonically nonbinary and nobody misgenders them or brings their gender up even though no one really likes them. <- and thats actually a really interesting look on grump society showing that unfortunately ableism towards the weird or the unconvential amongst us is still present, despite it seeming like queerness seems like a norm amongst the society.
