i find those girl power songs that are like ā€œi am a woman, the power of my feminine grace brings armies to their kneesā€ to be painfully trite, but iā€™m not sure iā€™m allowed to have an opinion on this, because i donā€™t like when music has lyrics in general

If the Avengers were a band, whoā€™d be/play what?
omg, please donā€™t kill me if I forget anyone lol
Right off the bat (because I already decided this awhile ago so this one was easy lol), Iā€™ve got Vision on Synthesizer. Is there any other instrument for him? Heā€™d vibe with it and add a nice electronic touch to the music. Iā€™m probably biased here since electronica is my favorite but still. Give that boy a synthesizer and let him drop some beats.Ā
I want Nat as the singer for some reason. Iā€™m just getting that front woman feel from her. She can totally own those band photos where sheā€™s standing at the front look fly as hell.Ā
Cap/Tony - Guitar and Bass. They bicker about which instrument is better. Cap insists itā€™s guitar because basslines are much more basic, but Tony insists that you canā€™t have a song without a bassline so heā€™s essential.Ā
Hawkeye is the drummer. Arm power, yaā€™ll and he does this really cheesy move when he comes out on stage where he pretends a drumstick is an arrow and heā€™s shooting it into the crowd. Nerd.
Then we have our orchestral babes, cause this is progressive band so theyā€™re mixing elements of genres.Ā
Wanda is on violin. Theyā€™re like her, they look small and delicate but can actually change the tone of the entire piece and can pack a punch when they need to. She gets some wicked solos during certain songs and makes everyone cry with the beauty of her playing. Especially Vision.
Iā€™m giving Thor a cello because I just like the mental picture of big, ripped Thor sitting behind a cello. He plays to the crowd a lot like Hawkeye, usingĀ Mjƶlnir as a bow. Heā€™s broken a half dozen cellos this year alone.Ā
Sam is the entertainer. He doesnā€™t sing or play an instrument, but instead he flies out into the crowd in the middle of the show and fire everyone up. The ladies love him.Ā
Bruce and Rhodey - Grand Piano and Keyboard (not to be confused with Visionā€™s synthesizer). They entertain crowd with some dueling pianos bits during encores.Ā
I think Iā€™ll stop there cause Iā€™m out of ideas and that stages if FULL.Ā

Music you love
Tagged by @milk-caramel, yay. ā˜ŗšŸ’•
Favorite music genre(s): Electronica, house, r&b, alternative rock, lo-fi (can we count this or nah ?), contemporary, Kpop, Khiphop, uhhhhhh...I like too many.
Favorite song: I have a few faves, but I can list a few as recommendations. -So Many Ways x Monogem -Gemini Feed x Banks -Lady x Sohlhee -Blue Light x Kelela -I Wrote A Song About You x MNEK -Not In That Way x Sam Smith -Aerodynamic x Daft Punk -Desire x Years & Years -Sunshine x Hoody/Crush -Mushroom Chocolate x Quin & 6lack
Most listened to artists: Gallant, VanJess, MNEK, Kelela, Banks, Infinite, NCT (all units), TVXQ, 2NE1, Hoody, Sohlhee, EXID, SHINee, Years & Years
An album thatā€™s important to you: Silk Canvas by VanJess or Ology by Gallant, but Reality by Infinite is also important to me because that year was when they announced their 2nd world tour & it helped me meet some of my best friends. I also wanna mention We Are Superhuman by NCT 127 since itā€™s the first album Iā€™ve bought myself ever.
A song thatā€™s important to you: Somewhere Over the Rainbow, the original song from Wizard of Oz reminds me of someone special that I wish was still here.
What makes you like a song: If I exclude liking the artistā€™s work overall, then I usually like songs that can tap into certain senses. Like, Iā€™ll listen to ā€œLay Me Downā€ when I need a good cry or Iā€™ll listen toĀ ā€œGimmeā€ when Iā€™m in a mood to listen to something thatā€™ll boost my mood. If a song can give me goosebumps, then Iā€™ll keep playing it & never get sick of it lol.
Favorite instrument to hear in a song: Vocals, Iā€™m a sucker for a vocalist that sounds pleasing. I really like guitars for almost any mood, but pianos also bring out strong feelings whether the song is upbeat or really mellow.Ā
A song from your childhood: Ah man, uhhh...I listened to a lot of Disney stuff on my own as a kid, so Iā€™ll sayĀ ā€œStrangers Like Meā€ by Everlife. I liked their rendition of the original for some reason.
A song that reminds you of love: So Many Ways by Monogem or Garden (Say It Like Dat) by SZA.
A song you love lyrically: Wasted Times by The Weeknd
I shall tag @tokkeiko @ryki @www-modcloth-com & @schmetterlinq ā•°(*Ā°ā–½Ā°*)ā•Æ

6 13 22 23 28 35-39 47 52 53 59 63 74 80 91 95 :P
6. Whatā€™s your lucky number?
69Ā ( Ķ”Ā° ĶœŹ– Ķ”Ā°)
(I donā€™t have one. 四 ig bc Iā€™m morbid)
13. What talents do you have?
I think Iā€™m a damn good academic writer, tbth. Kind of seriously considering doing some kind of side-job YouTube linguist thing after I graduate and have more than $0.00 to my name. And hey, if thereā€™s enough of a market, thatā€™d be a cool thing to do as a side-job with more traditional academia!
22. Have you ever got in trouble with the law?
Not yetā€¦
23. Have you ever met any celebrities?
Nope! Closest Iā€™ve come is former Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick.
28. What type of music do you like?
Lots.
Usually alt and indie rock, with some indie pop and folk. New Wave and 80s dancepop. Also, some top 40 pop.
Lots of electronicas, too. House, nu-Disco, ambient, indie-tronica, whatever-the-hell-genre The Knife is. Some more experimental rock a la Xiu Xiu and noisecore.
Also trying to get into more cabaret-esque stuff. Big fan of Amanda Palmer. Plus someā€¦ neo-Baroque, ig? Idk what to call Patrick Wolf and Owen Pallet.
Teeny-tiny bit of R&B and hip hop. Janelle Monae, Shamir, Lupe Fiasco, Kanye, OutKast. Just kind of the giant must-hears, yā€™know?
Also, did I mention that my musical tastes are gay as hell? Bc they are g a y a s h e l l . ANOHNI/Antony and the Johnsons, Bjƶrk, Scissor Sisters, Hercules and Love Affair, Marina and the Diamondsā€¦ Just a ton of gay shit.
35. Have you ever tried archery?
Yes! I was very bad at it.
36. Favorite clean word?
ā€œHaveā€? Bc it can be a function word and a lexical word.
Okay lemme explain that: So in linguistics, we tend to carve up vocabulary into lexical vocabulary (words that ā€œhave meaningā€, i.e. name something in the real word) and functional vocabulary (words that act more as glue for a sentence to connect its lexical words).
ā€œHaveā€ is interesting bc it can have meanings in both contexts.
(1) showsĀ ā€œhaveā€ used as a lexical verb, where it meansĀ ā€œownā€ orĀ ā€œpossessā€. And you readers at home could conceivably imagine a synonym for it in this context.
(1) They have a cat.
Compare that to (2) where theĀ ā€œpossessionā€ meaning is conveyed inĀ ā€œhadā€ (admittedly an inflected version of the same lexical verb), butĀ ā€œhaveā€ itself canā€™t be given a synonym so easily. You maybe could, but it would really just be a case of using a semantically-similar structure than a true lexical synonym. To even defineĀ ā€œhaveā€ in the context of (2), you would need to convey information about the cat-ownership wrt time, which isnā€™t really a definition.
(2) They have had a cat.
See how different those are? That is the difference between lexical and functional vocabulary and whyĀ ā€œhaveā€ (and these examples) are some of my favorite ways to explain it.
Iā€™ve also as of late become really interested in the wordĀ ā€œtableā€. Now, I work in a restaurant whereĀ ā€œtableā€ can meanĀ ā€œa piece of furniture customers eat atā€ orĀ ā€œa table of customersā€. That in and of itself isnā€™t weird, you get polysemy like that all the time. Whatā€™s interesting to me is the way they can be used to mean ostensibly different things in rapid contexts.
So in (3), thereā€™s an example of the first definition. Not weird at all.
(3) I need to clean the table.
Obviously, this is an inanimate object which I am cleaning and not a group of people sitting at a table. And in (4), itā€™s quite obvious that I mean the second meaning, i.e. a group of people (formerly) sitting at a table. No one would reasonably interpret (4) out of context to think the table was a mimic that left to go find sustenance elsewhere.
(4) The table left.
But whatā€™s interesting to me is how I can embed the two meanings with the same ostensible referent in a discourse. Hell, in a single sentence!
(5) When a table1Ā leaves, I have to clean it1Ā .
(The subscripts with the same numerals indicate coreferenceā€“i.e., thatĀ ā€œitā€refers back toĀ ā€œtableā€.)
I have the intuition thatĀ ā€œitā€ absolutely means the table. I also have the intuition that in the first clause,Ā ā€œtableā€ refers to a group of people sitting at a table while in the second ā€œitā€ refers to the inanimate object itself. True, this is across a clausal boundary, but it should still be weird that two different meanings of a polysemous word are called not only in the same discourse, but to refer to the same real-world referent.
And maybe there is some pragmatic theory Iā€™m simply ignorant of that explains this. And I wouldnā€™t at all be surprised if there were experimental work on this with semantic priming studies or somesuch (and if there isnā€™t this is me 100% calling dibs I will fite you). But itā€™s an interesting sentence that makes me question how we as linguists think about the lexicon.
So yeah. Thatā€™s why you donā€™t ask linguists language questions.
37. Favorite swear word?
ā€œFuckassā€. Nice and simple.
38. Whatā€™s the longest youā€™ve ever gone without sleep?
A little under three straight days. I had an absolutely nasty case of poison ivy at the end of the fifth grade. I also have no self-control and needed to stay up so I wouldnā€™t scratch. I had brief bouts of rest, but didnā€™t enter a REM cycle for almost 72 hours. Crashed for like 12 when I finally did.
When I got back to school, everyone said I looked like shit, too.
39. Do you have any scars?
A bunch of small ones. An itty-bitty scar that my former section-leaderā€™s dad gave me when I had my appendectomy. A small circle from when I got my hand slammed in a car door by accident. A bunch of internal scars in my ears from a whole ton of various surgeries as a younginā€™. And then various minor cuts and burns and scrapes that left noticeable scar tissue behind.Ā ĀÆ\_(惄)_/ĀÆ
47. What is your most expensive piece of clothing?
$200 coat I bought my freshman year of college. I also have a $100+ tie that is my most expensive article of clothing by size. They are both veryĀ nice.
52. Favorite food?
One of the three: penne alla bettola, spaghetti alla carbonara, or strozzapretti. Thatā€™s a spicy cream and tomato sauce with vodka; spaghetti with pancetta and egg; and a cream-and-meat sauce respectively. I like my Italian decadence.
53. Favorite foreign food?
I imagine this ask prompt was originally a Brit bc holy hell is that a Brit thing to say. Iā€™m also not gonna count the above bc I was raised on Italy. Gonna go with takoyaki or shu mai. Iā€™ve also never had a bad dish with lamb from the Islamic world tho.
59. Do you suck or bite lollipops?
Suck until theyā€™re weak and inferior to me, then crush them between my teeth.
63. Biggest Fear?
Sea monsters.
74. Are you ticklish?
Yes. And a kicker, so thatā€™s not an invitation.
80. How many piercings do you have?
Four rn bc two of the holes sealed up.
I got an industrial in each ear done at a very nice (and expensive) place in Northampton. Except while the one in my left ear was still healing, the bar itself broke. I had to go to work, so I couldnā€™t get anything in the holes for over 12 hours, by which point it had already sealed.
EDIT: I forgot the two boring lobe piercings, lol.
91. Do you like your own name?
Well enough, ig? I prefer Jordan and Conrad as names, but Iā€™ve already bequeathed the latter to the dog, soā€¦Ā ĀÆ\_(惄)_/ĀÆ
95. What are your weaknesses?
Executive dysfunctioning, especially as it applies to task-completion and time-management.

ive almost died at least 3 times. maybe more. i dont know if im really lucky or really unlucky LOL
ok so listen ive got this huge crossover au for all the persona games in my brain and it all starts with p3 makoto coming back in p5 for who knows what reason (i know what reason) and naoto also shows up later on. p3 makoto and p5 makoto become Same Name Bffs. naoya and kei start off in a side story but end up very involved with the main plot. maya is there. its great. i really want to draw a comic for it but i should Probably start with shorter stories first......... raise my comic makin stats a little before i start on a Big Project...................... but the Idea is There,
the questions

In a world where everyone has superpowers, what superpower would you NOT like to have? mind control... id get worried im doing it subconsciously and that would just be a huge mess and no i dont want it
Do you have any piercings? no but i did get my ears pierced once when i was younger. they got infected and i decided i didnt want to deal with it so i let em close up
Is there something popular that you donā€™t really get why itā€™s so popular? why do people look at two characters who are always at each others throats and go ā€œyes this is my shipā€ are u ok please if u need to talk im here for u
Do you prefer cold beverages or hot ones? hot chocolate and tea are my favorite drinks, esp now that im on medicine that makes soda taste like the sins of all of mankind condensed, carbonated, and canned for your convenience
