ABOUT CHAPTER 2 EP 16

Soooo... I LOVE LOVED this episode, many shocking moments for sure.

The way they went about ace’s execution was for sure different from what I was expecting (something with horses or just related to his talent) but I’m not complaining bc I thought this was so much better, it wasn’t physically gruesome but I think that using his fear (or phobia in this case) of death and dying was amazing and super smart (I’m kind of relieved as I didn’t want him to experience a painful death)

I do think this episode was emotionally gruesome, seeing Levi doing something as irracional as jumping in front of the machine gun to save Teruko and then seeing the reaction of everyone, Ace’s purely desperate decision of facing his nightmare just because it meant Levi might have a chance of getting help and living even after what went down between them in the trial and his confrontation with Arturo to get him to use what little medical knowledge he has to save Levi, and then of course the whole closing moment between monoTV and Teruko. 10/10 episode I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen in episode 3

hey so i know that its totally agreeable and most likely the intention of these lines that arthur doesnt want the butcher to find out about john, but allow me to read too far in between the lines for a second. arthur hasnt gotten a description of what his eyes are like, not since the beginning of the show with the police officers. even then it was vague.

ps its fucking hilarious both characters to mention it go by some variation of collin in the transcripts. but do you think that arthur appreciated knowing what he looked like? or do you think he hated what john had done to him? in both interactions arthurs reply after having the news broken to him was irritated and tired. do you think he struggled to hide his hate for what his eyes now looked like? specifically with the butcher, where arthur was particularly scared, where he gives the more defensive and aggressive reply, do you think he was just upset at john? because in most cases he doesnt bother with a witty reply.

im just curious if im going crazy or if theres something else here. maybe im just desperate to see arthur mourning his vision in a sort of way because im certain that he mentions somewhere in the first season being a very visual person but i cant for the life of me remember where. i want a scene where he so truly and thoroughly unpacks how fucking lost he is, only being guided verbally not even with a soft hand on the shoulder or forearm. i think ive only truly seen this done in fanfics, but i still love the idea and ill hold onto it til i die
