Hi!
Re: that one anon asking about queer bob
I'm curious if you think that something actually might have happened between george and bob? /gen
yuppp there's a lot of evidence for this one. lots of people on this app probably know more abt dylarrison than me haha
so first off, the song they wrote together, i'd have you anytime is a love song that has no specified gender as to who it's about. it's veryyyy interesting that they wrote a really romantic love song together (more info here). in addition, george harrison covered dylan's if not for you on his debut album as well, another love song. the clips from concert for bangladesh are insane, they sing love songs together and literally stare into each other's eyes there's an insane amount of sexual tension. george harrison also wrote "behind that locked door" for bob, again can be read in a very obvious queer context
also george was a hugeee fan of bob in general and had his bootlegs and stuff it was very cute
ALSO one time olivia harrison posted a picture of a rainbow that came through the light in her room and it shone on a pic of bob and george and captioned it "making rainbows" its veryyy funny
and my mutual on instagram posted a video of bob singing "something" (a love song) dedicated to george harrison in honor of him after he died, it was very sweet and they captioned it implying bob and george were more than friends (bob's quote-onquote "good buddy" george harrison) and olivia harrison also liked that post so. here's the video if you're curious
(also i'm noticing my comment which i completely do not remember writing but george said "love to you" in a letter to bob, there's letters i'm sure you can find online, also bob dylan saying "he was like the sun, the flowers, and the moon" about george harrison is probably the biggest thing that proved dylarrison was real)
(also they were in the traveling wilburys together which is just. gay for a lot of reasons)
#iris rambles#iris' mailbox#dylarrison#i am nottt an expert on this i'm sure there's many more stories and stuff

itching for good comparative literature posting between varney and dracula
You've come to the right place, my friend.
The Corn Will Never Ripen: Contrasting Themes of Fear, Knowledge, and Secret-Keeping in Dracula and Varney the Vampire
"It was the doubt as to the reality of the whole thing that knocked me over. I felt impotent, and in the dark, and distrustful. But, now that I know, I am not afraid, even of the Count."
-- Jonathan Harker, Dracula
"...but at all events one thing is evident, that the parson thought it good sound policy, and it was, to endeavour to nip the thing in the head, and by ascribing it to a dream, put it down as a subject of speculation in the place."
-- Varney the Vampire
(Spoilers ahead for both books)
Fear is a powerful force in Dracula. Count Dracula wields fear as a weapon, using it as an iron hammer to flatten the peasants who live in his shadow or a knife to twist in the hearts of his victims. He delights in terror and the suffering that comes from it, and uses fear as a tool to manipulate people and to turn them against one another. In Dracula, the antidote to fear is knowledge: Jonathan Harker is rejuvenated by Van Helsing's confirmation that his experiences were real, Van Helsing's study of folklore provides the key tools needed to defeat their vampiric foe, and Mina Harker's compilation of journals, articles, letters, and other documents detailing the nature and movements of the Count proves, ultimately, to be the crucial weapon in the fight against Dracula.
Fear, too, is a powerful force in Varney the Vampire. Sir Francis Varney also wields fear to his advantage; however, it quickly proves to be volatile beyond his control, and he finds himself repeatedly harried and pursued by the mobs his presence has whipped up. The fears of the populace are an engine of destruction that churns up everything in its path, desecrating corpses, burning buildings, and on one occasion even murdering a man on the suspicion that he might be a vampire. In Varney the Vampire, the proposed antidote to fear is ignorance, as knowledge of the truth only breeds and increases the destructive power of fear; however, try as they may, the protagonists almost never succeed in concealing the truth from the people who would hurt or be hurt by its knowledge. Flora and Clara do not believe the doctors who tell them their horrible experiences are a mere dream, Flora and George independently arrive at the idea of vampires despite attempts from the others to keep them in the dark, and ultimately no one is ever able to prevent the formation of the book's most formidable villain, The Mob.
Much ink has been spilled about the way that Dracula reflects the many anxieties of the Victorian era; and certainly, fear is omnipresent in its pages. Yet the novel Dracula is not afraid of the dark, placing a much greater focus on the power of love and kindness, the importance of communication, and ultimately the triumph of good over evil. From the compassion of Romanian peasants and Hungarian nuns to the strong bonds of friendship shared between the main cast, Dracula brims over with optimism and hope for humanity, despite the inescapable prejudices of the text.
By contrast, the outlook of Varney the Vampire is bleak. Futility is a recurring theme, from the cartoonish bumbling of the main characters to the tragic character of Varney himself, trapped in an endless cycle of death and undeath. The lesson of Varney is that it is the duty of the enlightened intellectual to shield the frail minds of his lessers from truths which are too horrible for them to bear. Confronted by evidence of vampires, the woman and the emotional man will succumb to horror and despair, while the uneducated peasantry will quickly exaggerate the truth by way of rumor and gossip, eventually turning to mindless and destructive mob violence. Clearly, neither of these things are desirable to Rymer's imagined intellectual; yet the message of the text, over and over again, is that protecting these "lesser minds" is a task doomed to failure. Try as you might, you cannot keep the vampire out of peoples' heads, and the intellectual man is doomed to have his reasoned arguments drowned out by the riotous outcries of the mob.
It is impossible to separate Varney the Vampire's views on fear and knowledge from the author's sexism and classism. While Bram Stoker hammers in the lesson to his protagonists that ignorance benefits no one with the climactic attack of October 3rd, James Malcolm Rymer strongly holds that knowledge of the truth ought to be the domain of educated men and no one else. Women must be kept in the dark. The poor and uneducated must be kept in the dark. Men who are too emotional, and thus feminine, must be kept in the dark. None but the most manly and educated intellectuals are equipped to handle the truth of vampires, even when that truth far more directly concerns the very people that are being excluded from knowledge of it. Lying and gaslighting are acceptable and even virtuous when put to this purpose.
Some of this patriarchal attitude is present in Dracula, especially as regards the treatment of Lucy and her mother, but Bram Stoker appears to be mostly against the concept, as his heroes pay dearly for it with Mina later. Though his handling of it falls rather short of 21st century standards, Stoker attempts to show the value in cooperation between people of all kinds. The Romanian peasants do all they can to protect Jonathan Harker from Dracula; the nuns in Budapest take him in and care for him; Van Helsing and Quincey, both (admittedly Western) foreigners, are essential members of the effort to defeat Dracula; Renfield has a heroic turn after being shown kindness by Mina, and dies fighting Dracula with his bare hands; Mina, a woman, leads the team and plays a crucial role in Dracula's defeat. Even with Victorian prejudice rearing its ugly head, often glaringly, throughout the text, the contrast between Stoker's worldview and Rymer's is stark.
As a final note, I'd like to compare the portrayal of gender and emotion in Dracula and Varney the Vampire. Emotion in the Victorian era, as I've alluded to elsewhere in this post, was gendered. More specifically, emotion was feminine. Men were expected to control their emotions; women, being seen as weaker, were not given the same expectations of stoicism, although it was still considered impolite for a woman to display strong emotions in public. (This is what the drawing room, actually a withdrawing room, was for.) With this in mind...
Wow, the characters in Dracula cry a lot. Jonathan cries in despair during his captivity, Arthur will cry on anyone's shoulder, Van Helsing has his King Laugh moment, and even the normally stoic Seward breaks down into his phonograph at one point. Fear and trauma are not belittled, and grief is allowed room to breathe. Alongside all this emotion, we see the strict gender roles of Victorian society broken down in other ways too. Jonathan takes comfort in femininity during his confinement in Castle Dracula, imagining himself in the position of medieval ladies writing letters and comparing himself to Scheherazade; later, he holds onto Mina's arm while they walk, the opposite of Victorian custom. Mina studies shorthand and practices her typing in anticipation of working alongside Jonathan, crossing the strict male/female division of Victorian society between the working and domestic spheres. Van Helsing describes her as having "a woman's heart and a man's brain", and after learning his lesson about patriarchal sexism and keeping secrets, follows her lead in the hunt for Dracula. Stoker yearns for a kinder and less regimented world than the one he lives in, and in Dracula he writes that world.
Rymer, on the other hand, fears the degradation of the regimented world, and writes in Varney a cautionary tale of the dangers of Too Much Emotion, demonstrated most starkly in the final vignette of his sprawling epic. When Clara Crofton is murdered by Varney, her father is deeply affected by grief at losing his daughter; and though other characters, chiefly Flagship Manly Intellectual Dr. North, attempt to chastise him out of expressing that grief, they ultimately fail and he is driven to madness. Clara's fiance, Ringwood, is also stricken by the loss. When he discovers Clara has risen as a vampire, he chases after her, begging to join her in undeath; but while this sentiment in Dracula is portrayed as the ultimate expression of love and devotion, in Varney it is portrayed as silly and irrational, and Ringwood, too, ultimately faces material consequences for his emotional outburst: he is attacked by Varney and knocked unconscious.
In Dracula, emotional connection and communication are embraced, and the bonds forged by this type of connection are instrumental to overcoming fear and defeating evil. In Varney the Vampire, grief is dangerous, love is foolish, and fear is a greater and more pervasive evil than any monster that lurks in the shadows.

OPERATION ICEBERG: THE TIER LIST
THEORY:
Curtain of Light
TIER:
Fanfiction: These "theories" are nothing short of delusional fan-crafted fantasies, embarrassingly disconnected from any shred of textual reality.
[Tier list overview]
EVIDENCE:
Oh boy!
First, let's outline the theory.
Please note, like any other fan theory, there are always minor differences of opinion. So, we'll cover the basics that most people seem to agree on.
Daenerys, Jon, and Tyrion are the three heads of the dragon.
To defeat the Others, they will each mount a dragon and travel as far north as possible, beyond a curtain of light, where they will encounter a Lovecraftian, apocalyptic dimension filled with all kinds of monsters.
While they are beyond this curtain of light, they will engage in life-affirming activities in the face of death. Some believe this could manifest as Tyrion learning to love himself, childbirth, or a sexual encounter between Jon and Daenerys.
They will then sacrifice themselves and their dragons to defeat the Others. Presumably, much will go up in flames.
Apparently, this epitomizes the theme of the human heart in conflict with itself and will serve as the conclusion of the story.
Now, for the evidence...
Oops, there isn't any.
If you've ever had the privilege of reading someone discuss this theory, you'll have noticed a glaring lack of textual support. Nevertheless, I'll do my best to piece together a coherent argument for why this could happen.
(Honestly, I'm a bit bitter that I'm putting in more effort to prove this theory than anyone else has.)
What does it mean when something is Lovecraftian?
To borrow from dictionary.com, 'Lovecraftian' pertains to elements reminiscent of the works of fantasy and horror writer H.P. Lovecraft, especially those that depict monstrous, misshapen beings from other dimensions or universes.
George R. R. Martin, a fan of literature, incorporates numerous Lovecraftian references in his A Song of Ice and Fire series and its associated works.
Examples include:
Leng (Island): Inspired by Lovecraft's Plateau of Leng.
Sarnath (City): Likely inspired by the city of Sarnath in Lovecraft's "The Doom that Came to Sarnath."
Ib (Island/Civilization): Possibly a nod to Ib from "The Doom that Came to Sarnath."
K'dath in the Grey Waste: Inspired by Lovecraft's Kadath in the Cold Waste.
Church/Cult of Starry Wisdom: A probable reference to the same cult in Lovecraft's "The Haunter of the Dark."
Deep Ones: Likely inspired by the aquatic creatures in Lovecraft's "The Shadow over Innsmouth."
"What's dead may never die": Possibly inspired by Lovecraft's phrase "That is not dead which can eternal lie / And with strange eons even death may die."
The Drowned God: Possibly a nod to Lovecraft's Cthulhu.
Dagon: An Ironborn-associated name, also an ancient being in Lovecraft's lore.
The Black Goat of Qohor: Possibly a reference to Lovecraft's Shub-Niggurath, the "Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young."
N'Ghai and Nefer: Likely inspired by Lovecraft's N'Kai, an underground realm associated with Tsathoggua.
Are you noticing a pattern? These nods to Lovecraft are mostly found in peripheral settings, with minor association to the Ironborn. George tends to make a lot of references to all kinds of literature in a similar fashion.
I'd hesitate to jump to the conclusion that this implies the existence of a parallel universe with otherworldly monsters, accessible via a portal in the far north. But since this is appearing in the evidence section, I guess we'll do that anyway.
Moving on.
The words "curtain of light" appear in a Bran chapter. One time. In only this chapter.
Finally he looked north. He saw the Wall shining like blue crystal, and his bastard brother Jon sleeping alone in a cold bed, his skin growing pale and hard as the memory of all warmth fled from him. And he looked past the Wall, past endless forests cloaked in snow, past the frozen shore and the great blue-white rivers of ice and the dead plains where nothing grew or lived. North and north and north he looked, to the curtain of light at the end of the world, and then beyond that curtain. He looked deep into the heart of winter, and then he cried out, afraid, and the heat of his tears burned on his cheeks. Now you know, the crow whispered as it sat on his shoulder. Now you know why you must live. - Bran III, AGOT
Melisandre also references curtains, though they are clearly different curtains than Bran's curtains. Whatever, it's fine.
Shadows in the shape of skulls, skulls that turned to mist, bodies locked together in lust, writhing and rolling and clawing. Through curtains of fire great winged shadows wheeled against a hard blue sky. - Melisandre I, ADWD
x
The flames crackled softly, and in their crackling she heard the whispered name Jon Snow. His long face floated before her, limned in tongues of red and orange, appearing and disappearing again, a shadow half-seen behind a fluttering curtain. Now he was a man, now a wolf, now a man again. - Melisandre I, ADWD
There is a place called the Land of Always Winter. It's like the Arctic.
The icy trenches rose around them, knee high, then waist high, then higher than their heads. They were in the heart of Winterfell with the castle all around them, but no sign of it could be seen. They might have easily been lost amidst the Land of Always Winter, a thousand leagues beyond the Wall. - Theon I, ADWD
x
Yet no matter the truths of their arts, the children were led by their greenseers, and there is no doubt that they could once be found from the Lands of Always Winter to the shores of the Summer Sea. - The World of Ice and Fire—Ancient History: The Dawn Age
x
What is commonly accepted is that the Age of Heroes began with the Pact and extended through the thousands of years in which the First Men and the children lived in peace with one another. With so much land ceded to them, the First Men at last had room to increase. From the Land of Always Winter to the shores of the Summer Sea, the First Men ruled from their ringforts. - The World of Ice and Fire—Ancient History: The Age of Heroes
The Others are believed to originate from the Land of Always Winter, where, according to legend, you can also find spooky ice spiders.
However, I should mention, a detail that might be easily missed in the books is that they are currently at Hardhome and continue to press south towards the Wall.
Yet there are other tales—harder to credit and yet more central to the old historiesabout creatures known as the Others. According to these tales, they came from the frozen Land of Always Winter, bringing the cold and darkness with them as they sought to extinguish all light and warmth. The tales go on to say they rode monstrous ice spiders and the horses of the dead, resurrected to serve them, just as they resurrected dead men to fight on their behalf. - The World of Ice and Fire—Ancient History: The Long Night
In 2012, George confirmed that future books would explore further and further north. No shit, you don't say. I wonder if Bran's journey through history, where we learn more about the origins of the Others, has anything to do with that.
"And what lies really north in my books—we haven't explored that yet, but we will in the last two books." - George R. R. Martin
Bran uses the common metaphor "the heart of _____ (winter)" in the same passage that the curtain of light appears. Later, in another book, Daenerys enters the House of the Undying, where she encounters blue figures reminiscent of the Others. There, she finds a literal blue heart that appears to be their life force. Drogon eats it. Together, these things might suggest that there is a literal blue heart beyond a portal that needs to be set on fire to defeat the Others.
Also, another time, Theon stands in the middle of Winterfell and uses the same "the heart of" metaphor (common phrase found throughout the series). Shortly after, he references the Land of Always Winter, so I thought I would throw it in to be generous.
He looked deep into the heart of winter, and then he cried out, afraid, and the heat of his tears burned on his cheeks. - Bran III, AGOT
x
They were in the heart of Winterfell with the castle all around them, but no sign of it could be seen. They might have easily been lost amidst the Land of Always Winter, a thousand leagues beyond the Wall. - Theon I, ADWD
x
A long stone table filled this room. Above it floated a human heart, swollen and blue with corruption, yet still alive. It beat, a deep ponderous throb of sound, and each pulse sent out a wash of indigo light. The figures around the table were no more than blue shadows. As Dany walked to the empty chair at the foot of the table, they did not stir, nor speak, nor turn to face her. There was no sound but the slow, deep beat of the rotting heart. [...] Through the indigo murk, she could make out the wizened features of the Undying One to her right, an old old man, wrinkled and hairless. His flesh was a ripe violet-blue, his lips and nails bluer still, so dark they were almost black. Even the whites of his eyes were blue. They stared unseeing at the ancient woman on the opposite side of the table, whose gown of pale silk had rotted on her body. One withered breast was left bare in the Qartheen manner, to show a pointed blue nipple hard as leather. She is not breathing. Dany listened to the silence. None of them are breathing, and they do not move, and those eyes see nothing. Could it be that the Undying Ones were dead? [...] Then indigo turned to orange, and whispers turned to screams. Her heart was pounding, racing, the hands and mouths were gone, heat washed over her skin, and Dany blinked at a sudden glare. Perched above her, the dragon spread his wings and tore at the terrible dark heart, ripping the rotten flesh to ribbons, and when his head snapped forward, fire flew from his open jaws, bright and hot. - Daenerys IV, ACOK
x
Only its eyes lived. Bright blue, just as Jon said. They shone like frozen stars.
[...]
When he opened his eyes the Other's armor was running down its legs in rivulets as pale blue blood hissed and steamed around the black dragonglass dagger in its throat. - Samwell I, ASOS
If you cherry-pick through the text and remove all context, you might be able to piece together a few sentences suggesting that life and love will defeat the Others and that a great self-sacrifice is imminent.
The man looked over at the woman. "The things I do for love," he said with loathing. - Bran II, AGOT
x
We are only human, and the gods have fashioned us for love. That is our great glory, and our great tragedy. - Jon VIII, AGOT
x
"Sansa, permit me to share a bit of womanly wisdom with you on this very special day. Love is poison. A sweet poison, yes, but it will kill you all the same." - Sansa IV, ACOK
x
"You're mine," she whispered. "Mine, as I'm yours. And if we die, we die. All men must die, Jon Snow. But first we'll live." - Jon V, ASOS
x
Someone threw a stone, and when Dany looked, her shoulder was torn and bloody. "No," she wept, "no, please, stop it, it's too high, the price is too high." More stones came flying. - Daenerys VIII, AGOT
x
"You are a boy of fourteen," Benjen said. "Not a man, not yet. Until you have known a woman, you cannot understand what you would be giving up." "I don't care about that!" Jon said hotly. "You might, if you knew what it meant," Benjen said. "If you knew what the oath would cost you, you might be less eager to pay the price, son." - Jon I, AGOT
Daenerys is convinced that there will be three heads of the dragon, and let me tell you, that girl's expectations are always fulfilled.
"If you were grown," she told Drogon, scratching him between the horns, "I'd fly you over the walls and melt that harpy down to slag." But it would be years before her dragons were large enough to ride. And when they are, who shall ride them? The dragon has three heads, but I have only one. She thought of Daario. If ever there was a man who could rape a woman with his eyes . . . - Daenerys V, ASOS
If the author leads you to believe that something will happen, it must be true.
Lastly, I should mention that there are vague references suggesting that George has written other stories with events and themes similar to this proposed ending. However, I can't verify these claims, and unsurprisingly, the works in question are never cited.
Well, that was it.
Say what you will about the "Daario is Euron" theorists, but at least they attempt to back up their crazy idea with actual text from the books.
COUNTER-EVIDENCE:
To put it bluntly, this theory has no basis—no textual support, no historical parallels, no evidence in the companion books, no prophetic visions, no dreams, no myths, no legends, no similarities to the television show, and no foreshadowing to speak of. It is entirely made up, with only a few words from the text as its foundation.
Does that sound like George R. R. Martin to you?
That said, now that I’ve realized his three-fold revelation strategy, I see it in play almost every time. The first, subtle hint for the really astute readers, followed later by the more blatant hint for the less attentive, followed by just spelling it out for everyone else. It’s a brilliant strategy, and highly effective. - Anne Groell, George R. R. Martin's editor
A Song of Ice and Fire is about the people of Westeros putting aside their petty differences and uniting against two existential threats: ice, represented by the Others, and fire, represented by Daenerys Targaryen and her dragons. It's not a story about fire defeating ice.
Well, of course, the two outlying ones — the things going on north of the Wall, and then there is Targaryen on the other continent with her dragons — are of course the ice and fire of the title, "A Song of Ice and Fire." The central stuff — the stuff that's happening in the middle, in King's Landing, the capital of the seven kingdoms — is much more based on historical events, historical fiction. It's loosely drawn from the Wars of the Roses and some of the other conflicts around the 100 Years' War, although, of course, with a fantasy twist. You know, one of the dynamics I started with, there was the sense of people being so consumed by their petty struggles for power within the seven kingdoms, within King's Landing — who's going to be king? Who's going to be on the Small Council? Who's going to determine the policies? — that they're blind to the much greater and more dangerous threats that are happening far away on the periphery of their kingdoms. - George R. R. Martin
x
Ice and fire of course are also opposites, they're a duality and there's a lot in my books that are about duality. Certainly the religion of Melisandre, one of the most important characters, I think is basically a dualist religion with the premise that there are two gods. It's somewhat based on Zoroastrianism, and a little bit based on Catharism, Albigenses heresy who I know had some roots here in Spain once upon a time, before they were all killed. The idea of a world divided between good and evil, war between the two, which is so basic to so many fantasy starting with Tolkien, but much more so in the case of Tolkien imitators, was something that I wanted to recast and think about and maybe subvert a little. But I'm still using kind of the language of it, and some of the symbols associated with it. So all of these are grist for the mill, it's not something as simple as saying ice is this and fire is that. They're both many things. And one of the most important things is that both of them, ice and fire will kill you dead. So they're both dangerous in their own ways, hate, love, desire, coldness, they can both be deadly. - George R. R. Martin
x
While the lion of Lannister and the direwolf of Stark snarl and scrap, however, a second and greater threat takes shape across the narrow sea, where the Dothraki horselords mass their barbarian hordes for a great invasion of the Seven Kingdoms, led by the fierce and beautiful Daenerys Stormborn, the last of the Targaryen dragonlords. The Dothraki invasion will be the central story of my second volume, A Dance with Dragons. The greatest danger of all, however, comes from the north, from the icy wastes beyond the Wall, where half-forgotten demons out of legend, the inhuman others, raise cold legions of the undead and the neverborn and prepare to ride down on the winds of winter to extinguish everything that we would call "life." - The Original Outline
x
I have tried to make it explicit in the novels that the dragons are destructive forces, and Dany (Daenerys Targaryen) has found that out as she tried to rule the city of Meereen and be queen there.
She has the power to destroy, she can wipe out entire cities, and we certainly see that in 'Fire and Blood,' we see the dragons wiping out entire armies, wiping out towns and cities, destroying them, but that doesn't necessarily enable you to rule — it just enables you to destroy. - George R. R. Martin
In the established lore of A Song of Ice and Fire, dragons can't cross the Wall and dislike cold and wet weather. How exactly will they get to this Lovecraftian Land of Always Winter, and how will they be of any use in that climate?
The men of the Night's Watch were as thunderstruck by the queen's dragon as the people of White Harbor had been, though the queen herself noted that Silverwing "does not like this Wall." Though it was summer and the Wall was weeping, the chill of the ice could still be felt whenever the wind blew, and every gust would make the dragon hiss and snap. "Thrice I flew Silverwing high above Castle Black, and thrice I tried to take her north beyond the Wall," Alysanne wrote to Jaehaerys, "but every time she veered back south again and refused to go. Never before has she refused to take me where I wished to go. I laughed about it when I came down again, so the black brothers would not realize anything was amiss, but it troubled me then and it troubles me still." - Fire & Blood: Jaehaerys and Alysanne—Their Triumphs and Tragedies
x
Autumn was well advanced when the Prince of Dragonstone came to Winterfell. The snows lay deep upon the ground, a cold wind was howling from the north, and Lord Stark was in the midst of his preparations for the coming winter, yet he gave Jacaerys a warm welcome. Snow and ice and cold made Vermax ill-tempered, it is said, so the prince did not linger long amongst the northmen, but many a curious tale came out of that short sojourn. - Fire & Blood: the Dying of the Dragons—A Son for a Son
x
The big man looked out toward the terrace. "I knew it would rain," he said in a gloomy tone. "My bones were aching last night. They always ache before it rains. The dragons won't like this. Fire and water don't mix, and that's a fact. You get a good cookfire lit, blazing away nice, then it starts to piss down rain and next thing your wood is sodden and your flames are dead." - The Dragontamer, ADWD
x
He saw no sign of dragons, but he had not expected to. The dragons did not like the rain. - The Queen's Hand, ADWD
x
(bonus, for laughs:)
"The things…Mother have mercy, I do not know how to speak of them…they were…worms with faces…snakes with hands…twisting, slimy, unspeakable things that seemed to writhe and pulse and squirm as they came bursting from her [Aerea Targaryen] flesh. Some were no bigger than my little finger, but one at least was as long as my arm…oh, Warrior protect me, the sounds they made…" "They died, though. I must remember that, cling to that. Whatever they might have been, they were creatures of heat and fire, and they did not love the ice, oh no. One after another they thrashed and writhed and died before my eyes, thank the Seven. I will not presume to give them names…they were horrors." - Fire & Blood: Jaehaerys and Alysanne—Their Triumphs and Tragedies
House Targaryen and their dragons played no role in the previous Long Night.
How the Long Night came to an end is a matter of legend, as all such matters of the distant past have become. In the North, they tell of a last hero who sought out the intercession of the children of the forest, his companions abandoning him or dying one by one as they faced ravenous giants, cold servants, and the Others themselves. Alone he finally reached the children, despite the efforts of the white walkers, and all the tales agree this was a turning point. Thanks to the children, the first men of the Night's Watch banded together and were able to fight—and win—the Battle for the Dawn: the last battle that broke the endless winter and sent the Others fleeing to the icy north. Now, six thousand years later (or eight thousand as True History puts forward), the Wall made to defend the realms of men is still manned by the sworn brothers of the Night's Watch, and neither the Others nor the children have been seen in many centuries. - The World of Ice and Fire—Ancient History: The Long Night
x
The Targaryens were of pure Valyrian blood, dragonlords of ancient lineage. Twelve years before the Doom of Valyria (114 BC), Aenar Targaryen sold his holdings in the Freehold and the Lands of the Long Summer and moved with all his wives, wealth, slaves, dragons, siblings, kin, and children to Dragonstone, a bleak island citadel beneath a smoking mountain in the narrow sea. - The World of Ice and Fire—The Reign of the Dragons: The Conquest
Bran's curtain of light is simply a reference to the aurora borealis. For the love of christ, it's not a portal to another dimension.
North and north and north he looked, to the curtain of light at the end of the world, and then beyond that curtain. - Bran III, AGOT
x
Sailors, by nature a gullible and superstitious lot, as fond of their fancies as singers, tell many tales of these frigid northern waters. They speak of queer lights shimmering in the sky, where the demon mother of the ice giants dances eternally through the night, seeking to lure men northward to their doom. - The World of Ice and Fire—Beyond the Free Cities: The Shivering Sea
Speaking of Bran, why isn't he central to this theory? Didn't that sentence appear in his chapter? What is Arya up to? Where is Sansa? Why are the Starks, who are the central characters of this series, taking a backseat in their own conflict, which is unfolding in their own backyard?
(Not to mention the Night's Watch, the wildlings, the northerners, and the children of the forest—you know, the people who are actually integral to this storyline.)
Yeah, the children were always at the heart of this. The Stark children, in particular, were always very central. Bran is the first viewpoint character that we meet, and then we meet Jon and Sansa and Arya and the rest of them. It was always my intention to do that. - George R. R. Martin

Whenever I propose analogies like that, fans jump in with their own ideas, but it depends on what team you root for. To me, the Starks are heroes, so they would be the Giants. - George R. R. Martin
It's going to be a pact facilitated by Bran.
What is commonly accepted is that the Age of Heroes began with the Pact and extended through the thousands of years in which the First Men and the children lived in peace with one another. - The World of Ice and Fire—Ancient History: The Age of Heroes
x
Regardless, the children of the forest fought as fiercely as the First Men to defend their lives. Inexorably, the war ground on across generations, until at last the children understood that they could not win. The First Men, perhaps tired of war, also wished to see an end to the fighting. The wisest of both races prevailed, and the chief heroes and rulers of both sides met upon the isle in the Gods Eye to form the Pact. - The World of Ice and Fire—Ancient History: The Coming of First Men
x
According to these tales, the return of the sun came only when a hero convinced Mother Rhoyne's many children—lesser gods such as the Crab King and the Old Man of the River—to put aside their bickering and join together to sing a secret song that brought back the day. - The World of Ice and Fire—Ancient History: The Long Night
x
- The World of Ice and Fire—Ancient History: The Long Night
Tyrion Lannister is not a Targaryen; he is not one of the three heads of the dragon. He is the malevolent, vindictive son of Tywin Lannister. He rapes women, he kills women, he marries child hostages to acquire their castles, he will be complicit in the death of potentially hundreds of thousands of people, and he isn't getting anything remotely resembling a heroic ending.
Jaime kissed her cheek. "He left a son." "Aye, he did. That is what I fear the most, in truth." That was a queer remark. "Why should you fear?" "Jaime," she said, tugging on his ear, "sweetling, I have known you since you were a babe at Joanna's breast. You smile like Gerion and fight like Tyg, and there's some of Kevan in you, else you would not wear that cloak . . . but Tyrion is Tywin's son, not you. I said so once to your father's face, and he would not speak to me for half a year. Men are such thundering great fools. Even the sort who come along once in a thousand years." - Jaime V, AFFC
Daenerys and her dragons represent one of the two principal threats in the narrative. Azor Ahai is a misinterpreted prophecy that is intended as a warning, not as the foretelling of a hero.
Since the first book, her sole objective has been to rule foreign lands seized through force. She exploits slaves, consistently engages in brutal acts of violence, and leaves devastation wherever she sets foot. She will intentionally burn King's Landing to the ground, and then she'll be stabbed to death.
No. You are the blood of the dragon. The whispering was growing fainter, as if Ser Jorah were falling farther behind. Dragons plant no trees. Remember that. Remember who you are, what you were made to be. Remember your words. "Fire and Blood," Daenerys told the swaying grass. - Daenerys X, ADWD
The idea that Daenerys, Jon, and Tyrion will love themselves or each other, either physically or emotionally, and then collectively sacrifice themselves, is the dumbest climax anyone has ever conceived. You forfeit the right to ever complain about the show if this is what you thought should happen.
Finally, please remember that, by default, the original creators of this theory are always wrong about everything.
STUMPY'S THOUGHTS:
You might be asking yourselves, "How do we distinguish between joke and fanfiction theories?"
I'll tell you. Both are equally absurd, but the fanfiction tier has the unique quality of making you feel like you're reading a story written by a fanfic writer who's in denial about their aspirations to write fanfic.
VOTE:
I welcome discussions. Feel free to reblog, respond, or challenge my perspective—I won't be offended by any of it.
Please note, if "no" is the eventual winner, or if it's competitive, a second poll will be conducted to determine the proper location.*
*won't be necessary for this theory.
NEXT THEORY:
Varys has Tyrek Lannister

Decked Out In You
This is it.
This is the day Oliver has been waiting for. This is the day he is going to win the quidditch cup. The last couple years had some minor setbacks with magic stones, basilisks, and everything in between, but not this year. Well, almost. Turns out, Harry had to deal with some family problems that turned up unexpectedly that had Oliver flying out on the pitch from days on end to blow off some steam. Harry couldn’t go ONE year without anything happening. One year of peace was all he asked for.
But all was well when Harry went up to him and told him that everything was taken care of and that he was still able to play quidditch this year. Oliver fell to his knees thanking merlin for bringing his seeker back. He would never admit it, but he was almost to tears.
Oliver was eerily quiet at the quidditch changing tents. He sat at the front, facing his teammates, elbows on his knees, fingers locked, and head down. Fred and George looked at each other with confusion as they have never heard the captain so quiet before a game. Angelina looked worried and the silence was giving Katie anxiety. Harry was just sitting there, waiting for Oliver because he knew this was a big day for him. No one can really understand what he’s feeling right now.
Finally, Oliver looked at his team. They expected to see a cold, hard face to greet them. To their shock, Oliver was smiling at them. Pride evident in his eyes.
“There’s nothing else for me to say.” He started, getting shocked faces from his team. “You’ve all worked hard and tried your best in every game. That’s all I’ve ever asked from you. I’m proud of all of you.”
Now it was the team’s turn to be silent.
“Godric Oliver.” Katie Bell spoke up. Everyone looked at her. “That was the best speech you ever did.”
The Gryffindors all laughed together, reminiscing all of the long a agonizing speeches he did.
“Now let’s go out there and bring the cup back in Gryffindor hands!” He exclaimed, earning cheers from everyone else. They all grabbed their brooms and headed out.
Oliver was the last one out only to find his team just standing and staring at something. Looking in the same direction, he immediately spotted his girlfriend. He couldn’t believe his eyes. There you were, wearing his spare jersey with a black long-sleeved shirt underneath, black jeans, with red and gold socks over your ankles. His name has been painted on your cheeks- Oliver in red on the right, Wood in gold on the left. You wer also holding up a handmade sign with his last name and jersey number decorated in Gryffindor colors.
Oliver thought you couldn’t be more be more beautiful than you were, but you just proved him wrong. His house-pride girlfriend is wearing his house colors. Merlin, he loves you so much. He is so in love with you.
Oliver started walking towards you with a smile mirroring yours. As soon has he reaches you, he picks you up and spins you around. He’s so happy right now that he even ignores the teasing and whistling from his teammates. Nothing can bring him down from this.
Nothing.
“Look at you decked out in red and gold.” He said proudly, putting you down. “Looks good you, my love.”
“Nope. I’m just decked out in you.” You beamed at him, slightly waving your sign to him.
Oliver gave you another once over admiring how beautiful and stunning you are and just thinking how lucky he is to be with someone like you. He took your face in his hands and studied you before kissing your nose and then your lips.
“Thank you for this leannan.” He started. “This… means everything to me. You didn’t have to do this you know?”
I know.” You answered. “But I love you and I wanted to.”
“I love you.” Oliver responded. “Merlin knows how much I love you.” Oliver leaned down, capturing you lips once again. This time with more passion, more needing… more love. You pulled away as the lack of air was starting to get to you. You stared at Oliver right into his deep brown eyes and can see that he’s nervous about today. He’s confident but you know, you can see, that there’s a hint of doubt in there.
“You are going to do great, and you are going to win.” You assured him. “Don’t think Ollie. Just play. Okay?”
“Okay.” He whispered, putting his forehead to yours. Hearing you say that made his heart feel lighter. It amazes him how easily you can make his worries go away. You calm him down but still excite him at the same time. He can’t really explain this feeling, but he knows he wants it forever and he wants it with you.
“You better go.” You told him, hearing Lee make his first announcements. Oliver nodded, giving you a quick kiss before heading back to his teammates.
“Hey Wood!” You called after him. He turned his head towards you along with the rest of his teammates. “Give those Slytherins hell.”
Oliver smirked and winked at you before mounting his broom and taking off to the pitch. He felt his teammate’s support as they rode behind him. He felt his house’s support as they cheered for the team. Most importantly, He felt your support as you’re seated next Hermione and Ron cheering the loudest out of anyone in the stands.
He will win the Quidditch cup tonight.

Hi GT! Any thoughts on GRRM's (now deleted 👀) blog post about HOTD? Both in terms of content and authorial conduct?
My first reaction was some combination of sympathy and cringe. I can see where his frustrations would arise — especially if he's correct that Ryan Condal intended Helaena to kill herself "for no reason," although I doubt that's the whole story (most of the coming seasons haven't been written yet). GRRM was burned badly by the ending of GOT, which is why he's harping so much on the (to be honest, pretty minor) removal of a child who really has no role in the source material except to be the sacrificial lamb prompting Helaena's suicide. He can repeat the words "butterfly effect" until he's blue in the face, but that still won't actually make Maelor into a major character, and it still won't explain why changing Helaena's arc is necessarily a bad thing for the story the show's telling. Helaena in the books is a very happy person whose death by suicide would be uncharacteristic unless prompted by a slew of gruesome personal tragedies. Helaena in the show is much more melancholy and withdrawn, and the audience doesn't need to see (another) one of her children brutally slaughtered in order to believe that she might pull a Tommen, especially since we don't know what the HOTD team are actually planning for her. Getting pissy about cutting Maelor is like finding out someone's replaced all the furniture in your living room — while you watched — and complaining that the upholstery's the wrong color. My brother in Christ, it's a different chair.
Apart from that, I recently saw one blogger argue persuasively that the choice to eliminate Maelor was not just efficient, but a defensible and deliberate creative decision: whether George realizes it or not, removing Maelor puts Aegon in the same situation his father Viserys was before his marriage to Alicent, where his only choices of heir are his daughter (Rhaenyra/Jahaera) or his brother (Daemon/Aemond), the latter of whom has recently proved himself an untrustworthy and outright dangerous candidate (the King of the Stepstones arc in Daemon's case, and the assassination attempt from Aemond). This traps Aegon, because the only laws supporting him as king require that he pass over Jahaera and place his regicidal brother — who has already tried to kill him once, probably having realized this fact — directly in the line of succession. And I'm pretty sure the show is intentionally going for this, because they make a point of telling us that Aegon can't have more children, so unlike Viserys, he can't get out of this by having more sons. Is this necessarily more compelling than the Maelor/Helaena guilt storyline? No, but we don't know if that storyline would have been compelling either. The success or failure of a narrative decision is almost totally in the execution, and HOTD is, crucially, not finished executing yet.
Siloing the question of the post's merits, it's also incredibly unprofessional for one of the most successful authors in history to start publicly beating up on a writer's room that he's supposedly collaborating with. Like, frankly, I don't care what Ryan Condal said. I don't care if he said he was going to kill off half the cast in S3E1 and turn the show into an isekai about his self-insert avatar falling in love with Rhaenyra. You work that shit out in the writer's room, or, if need be, the negotiating table, and not by dumping on the guy's creative decisions on a platform where the core of the show's fanbase hangs on your every word (most of them in the hope that you've announced the completion of the book you're supposed to be writing). It's catty, it's spiteful, and, judging by the content of the post itself, grossly disproportionate to the scale of the creative conflict at play. If I were an industry creative, I would have serious reservations about working with Martin after this, and the level of poor behavior on display should be evident by the fact that any author whose IP wasn't making HBO a bajillion zillion dollars would have been rightfully shitcanned for doing something like this.
If I sound angry at him, I'm not; I think he's just an old guy who's been told by lots of people that he's good enough to be above the rules, and he's consequently forgotten some of the industry etiquette. I'm also, frankly, a little contemptuous, mostly because most creatives I know would give all the fingers of their writing-hand to have the opportunities that George does, and would conduct themselves with significantly more grace and generosity for their collaborators even if they did disagree on adaptational differences.
#spoilers#i guess my thought reading the post was: why am I reading this?#these are find and valid complaints for someone to have if you're a purist but#what is the point of projecting this to every fan on the planet?#how serious do your creative disagreements have to be for you - the author - to feel this powerless?#I dunno. I'm old school. Work it out in the back room buddy. Put your dukes up if you have to#but you don't publicly shit on your collaborators' work unless you really intend to nuke the relationship#and that's just not something I would. personally. want to do. with the guy directing an ongoing adaptation of my work#[old man voice] this is what we used to have GROUP CHATS FOR

what is your hypno origin story? (have you shared it before?)
Cobbled together from some old posts, as I couldn't find a definitive "this is our origin" post:
From our post on why we love Hypnotic Theory
My earliest days online I remember reading up on subliminal advertising techniques and going down a rabbit hole of "Painted Ice Cubes" and other such things which seemed too weird to be true.
From there I ended up reading Subliminal Seduction in my late teens out of curiosity and was kind of fascinated by the concepts at play. I was already well and truly fascinated with hypnosis but hypnosis was this magical spell that was cast by magicians. This psuedo-science of advertising execs promising that glimpses of sharks and phallus' would unlock the secrets to sales was my first and unfortunate step into understanding the theory behind it all.
Next step was of course M.K Ultra which is 100% a meme in today's hypnokink community and at best an aesthetic for serious torture-brainwashing play which is at a much higher level of anything than I'm really capable of. But it cited itself. Which got me looking into the history of Mesmer and Braid and then onto a bloke named Milton Erickson...
Archive.org had a lot of his stuff. In fact all of his stuff.
Between Erickson in my textbooks and Derren Brown on my television, right at the start of his career when the fascination of mentalism was still tied heavily to hypnosis (and early Derren Brown was a Fae and a bit of an ass XD) my earliest teachers were pretty bad at consent. Which lead to certain expectations of hypnosis which lead to me picking bad partners at the start of my career.
But Erickson's stuff compelled me.
Early 20s Camden used a lot of Ericksonian speech patterns in her play. Though back then she was only really hypnotizing people under compulsion and usually while hypnotized to channel or outright become a character.
The fact I read medical journals is the moment I knew this fascination had evolved into a life altering obsession. That this was my One Thing.
It was the studies of Erickson working on participants with amputated limbs to study the phantom limb theory that really got me to sit up and pay attention to the science behind it.
At this point of my life I'd been studying on surgeries being performed with hypnosis (a terrifying concept. When I have my surgery I will be hypnotized to go under for the anesthesia like a good girl) and I had seen EKG readings that proved that hypnosis changes the way that the brain scans.
Every step of my life I have leaned on evidence and proof and every step of my study into hypnosis taught me it was not fantasy. It was reality and the more I accepted that the better I was at both hypnotizing, free of doubt and insecurity, and being hypnotized, trusting it works.
I still struggle with that. A lot. Thinking I am just acting or following along. But the more I read the better I feel.
I got my certification at the age of 23. I am not a fan of George Kappas (his work is misogynistic to my eyes) but his school taught me for a year (one of my classmates and the person I studied with for my finals is actually another high profile member of the online hypnosis community) and taught me the most important lesson any school has ever taught me:
I ALREADY KNOW THIS.
I was 23 years old and knew as much as the instructors. That was a good feeling.
Also my classmate and I are still friends. We're not super close, but she and I are in contact. I spent some time with them at a recent hypnosis event. It means a lot to me that even though my name and gender changed, they still remember me.
In my 30s I moved on from academic hypnosis materials to community driven information. I have read Lee & Pynch's book on Amnesia, sleepingirl's Brainwashing and NLP books and of course Wiseguy's Mind Play. I've also taken Wiseguy's class, though didn't bother taking my final. Which was a good use of $1,200.
Every now and again Sleepyhead will show up and just put a book in my hand. I think her copy of The Encyclopedia of Stage Hypnotism has graduated into my copy of The Encyclopedia of Stage Hypnotism (Sleepy, you can have your books back at any time).
These days I am lazy and can't really read much. I'm studying therapy more than anything with my latest obsessions being Janina Fischer and Melissa Tiers; Tiers herself being a world class hypnotist that many of our top community members have spent big bucks to train under.
-
From our post on Truth Spells
My earliest hypno-fantasy was to have a hypnotherapist ask me if I was in love with someone (who I did not really have feelings for, but social pressure and all that jazz) and I kept that silly little 14 year old's dream in my heart.
-
From a set of Hypno Asks
1. How long have you been into hypnosis?
Since I was a teenager at least. I used to fantasize about hypnotherapists taking me deep and asking me the truth to questions which were too emotionally complex for me to untangle myself. I used to stare out of windows and think of pendulums and grandfather clocks. I got into the hypnosis community when I was about 19 via Yahoo Groups and kinda followed the growth and pilgramage from platform to platform.
I guess I did kind of get the therapist honesty thing happen to me one time, but that's another story and you'll have to ask for it specifically.
2. Describe your first experience with hypnosis
I remember when I was young I couldn't really move my computer or stretch audio cables, so I needed to make a little cot for myself in the corner of the room. I was awful in my early days. Just listened to files without care for my safety. I just wanted an escape. I bought 45 minute files. I recall one framed like a bank heist with pink mist seeping into the vault of my brain to change things. Predated Inception, even. I was always scared neighbors would hear so I put the speakers on the ground and pulled headphones in and just slept away. I had tons of rituals in the early days, scented candles, boiling baths, anything to try and make it work better. I was AMAZING at visualizing back in those days. I would just get absorbed in the fantasy.
My first interactive partner was an RP buddy on Yahoo Groups who became my first Master. He kept me for about 5 years. I adored him. Did everything he wanted. Even to my own detriment. He was an awful human. I am ashamed I followed him.
My first IRL session was with the woman I married. There was the golden glow of an American sunset pouring through her window as the heaviness of a 12 hour journey across the planet to see her was catching up with me. Her parents were going to drop me off at the hotel to sleep. She thought she could keep me there with her if I fell asleep. She stroked my brow. Cooed for me to just relax. I sank into her lap. It was pure peace and serenity. She tells me she snuck in our first kiss while I was under.
3. Are there any TV shows/movies/books you liked when you were younger that you think got you into hypnosis?
There was like a Magic Block on TV when I was growing up. Masked Magician SECRETS UNVEALED, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and The Hypnotic World of Paul McKenna. I watched every week and was fascinated. I loved magic as a child. But it was all the mystic allure and not real. At least until one of my mum's friends was telling her about being on the McKenna show, a show where they hypnotize people in the audience and do skits. British Broadcast Standards do not allow the airing of any hypnosis so they always made it seem secret and taboo, hidden behind a blurry screen and mum's friend had THE SECRETS. So I listened (she had a Pepsi that night so couldn't go on stage) and was just fascinated. It was not just real magic, it was something that could work on anyone. That real person who was in my life had witnessed it and could have "gone under". I remember my obsession was born in the childish awe of that story.
That should cover it, I believe.

14 16 43 for the f1 asks <3
hi mimi i was waiting for yours <3
14. which was your first race you watched?
i'm like 90% sure it was baku 2018. i watched the replay because i needed to know what dts was talking about for baku lmao i was like idc if max is being slandered i'll support him anyway but i wanna know why and how
16. is there a driver who you made you drastically change your opinion of him?
HAHAH. i could say george because as you know, i spent so much time disliking him once he became a merc driver and then... i finally started warming up to him right before the qatar weekend only to be proved so fucking wrong... like i should've trusted my instincts!!! alas, i was a victim of his PR rebrand but thankfully, it was brief and ephemeral.
for real, tho— probably seb. i knew he had won 4 titles with red bull but i never really put the respect on his name because when i started watching, he was kinda flailing at ferrari. but i saw some old races and interviews... realized that i have a soft spot for red bull golden boys... like he was just a blonde-overconfident-twink-menace that genuinely loved his team and revered his car <3
43. what was your highlight (or highlights of the season)?
oh my god. this is so difficult because this season was so long... like everything was just always happening.
in terms of wins:
brazil for max. the title was safe, he had reminded everybody he's max verstappen <3
monaco and monza for charles bc i am not immune to the ferrari sad boy myth
silverstone for lewis bc record breaking 9th win at his home track? yeah i'm not at all normal about it
other highlights:
the whole press weekend for abu dhabi lmao... like the george interview where he looked like he was about to cry as he called max a terrorist 😭 so funny to me + max announcing the pregnancy the next day.... amazing
also oh my god how can i forget... the news about lewis to ferrari being leaked... i was in SHOCK... i couldn't believe it
kmag race ban 💀
the alpine drama with the notes app apology 💀
max holding his own press conference outside... ICON <3
that one twitter video being used as actual evidence for regulation infringements??? unserious ass sport
franco colapinto

my driver hotness rankings
besties and behateds of the jury, this is maybe the most unhinged thing i will ever post but it is my sistine chapel it is my mona lisa. this is to me what citizen kane was to orson welles. i will prove to you today that my driver hotness rankings are objectively correct. i have assembled the evidence i have constructed my argument. (love you ell this one's for you.)
20
nyck (i’m so sorry). look someone has to go last. i am not prejudiced against short kings but it must be acknowledged that in combination with the face he is giving gnome. also i have seen the shirtless pics, and he is more ripped than george for christ’s sake there are so many ridges on his torso. he looks, to steal a phrase from patton oswald, “painful to fuck.” and i don’t have a vibe check on him yet so there is nothing else to compel me (benoit blanc voice) also i am not yet convinced he’s fast, which would increase his standing, because, say it with me, being good at things is hot. check back in after a few races. the thing where they tied him to a wheel rack was funny but not enough.
19
pierre. he’s fooled so many people into thinking he’s attractive with his beard contour and his donald trump ass haircut covering a truly atrocious hairline but there is no force on earth that can cover being a crypto bro. i have known so many and they are, without exception, the worst and more irritating people on the planet. if you own an nft you are not hot. if you TALK about it you are less hot. he has abs or whatever but i honestly think he is too ripped, similar to nyck. and i haven’t even mentioned the fact he’s a pedophile! his narrative used to be compelling to me because he got kicked out of red bull and i love redemption but he is a mid driver and a bitch and christian was right to fire him.
18
lando. this one may be controversial but i’m right and i can prove it: he looks like he’s twelve years old. who am i, pierre? i think the fuck not. admittedly he has nice eyes but he has a very oddly-shaped head. i could snap him like a twig, which looking at my dating history is not necessarily a deal breaker, but it is if he’d whine like a little bitch the whole time. he has never known the touch of a woman and he never will. the vibes are also atrocious: he’s a spoiled brat, and his interests are twitch and golf?????? he might not say racial slurs but he definitely crosses the street if he sees a black man. says he feels “uncomfortable” being around gay men with his shit off. bitch. i must clarify that i don't actually hate him but he has committed the worst crime to me: being a little irritating.
17
checo. people say he looks like tom cruise with a double chin but i just watched top gun and no he fucking does not. he looks more grizzled than fernando but in a haggard way not in a rugged cowboy way and he’s got a dad bod but not in a hot way. and the vibes are fucking off, absolutely swagless. fucking come on he’s had two seasons of getting his ass HANDED to him by max every week. i know it’s hard to be max’s teammate or whatever but i am pointing to him and saying MID. i don’t know anything about him personally except he’s got rich sponsors, he probably cheated on his wife, and he’s a homophobe. however he will move up if he goes full rosberg in 2023 and ruins christian’s life i do not pretend to be unbiased. the thesis of this one is that it is not hot to be boring. but if he becomes interesting i will change my mind.
16
oscar. see lando. he looks like a child! i do not believe he is 21 they are LYING because he's actually 14 and it should be illegal to let him drive. i do not believe he remembers obama’s first election. he’s up higher because i believe he is considerably more attractive than lando he has a sweet honest face i would kiss his little cheeks. but is he hot? ask again in five years. the narrative is also compelling to me because he did said “fuck the french” and that is hot that is HOT, but again, as of yet no vibe check. i see something in his eyes that indicates to me he may win the twink war but until first blood is spilled that is only hypothetical. sorry oscar nothing against you honey.
15
kmag. ok look. maybe i just don’t remember what kmag actually looks like but the picture on the f1 website is not flattering he looks like the stock photo wincing old man. i don’t think he’s unattractive really but i cannot put him above the rest of this list i fear! when he got pole that was really hot but what else is he giving? talking about balls? that wasn’t hot when dan did it and it’s not hot for kmag either. the vibe check should have enough data to produce something but it is coming up empty!!! i just do not know i’m sorry kevin. you do not have the x factor. you are not irritating, but to me, you are boring.
14
estie! you know he was below kmag but today i saw that gifset of him with long hair…. i could fix him (get him a hair stylist) he’s uncomfortably lanky. rat man may be affectionate, but rat man nevertheless. also i played myself by comparing himself to the flushed away rat because now i cannot see him without thinking about that. he’s got a really hot girlfriend which means he’s probably a feminist (will go down on a woman) and i know he doesn’t come from money. both of these things compel me tis true! but they are not enough to overcome the tragic truth that he looks like a cartoon character
13
hulkenberg. look ell i know i said he was conventionally attractive and i stand by that. he IS. but he also looks like a fucking ken doll. he has the GR wax doll disease. he went into the uncanny valley and he fucking founded a city-state there he’s building fucking governance structures and supporting a small private army to defend trade routes. his skin is so like….. tight. uncomfortable. and he is not redeemed by the vibe check. a million fucking races and no podium? and he wasn't only in shit cars! he was supposed to be a world champion coming up through the feeder series and he fell short of his potential. falling short of your potential is narratively compelling, but not in a hot way. i am pressing the big buzzer that says MID. boring.
12
lance. literally forgot about him until i got to number seven and then i was like….. wait a minute wait a fucking minute. he and nando are mirror opposites lance is here purely by virtue of his conventionally attractive little face. i can hear the ghosts of my jewish ancestors telling me to settle down with the nice billionaire jewish boy. but you know what? his voice is fucking irritating as shit and he has the least interesting variety of daddy issues. he’s got no fucking personality and he’s a nepo baby and he’s a mid ass driver and lawrence will not convince me otherwise by holding a gun to nando’s head and making him say shit about how good his stupid little failson is.
11
NANDOOOOOOO ok i know this one is controversial but i don’t give a shit it’s my list. i know he’s fucking eighty do you think i care? no. i couldn’t give less of a shit what he looks like. all that matters to me is that he wakes up every single day and chooses to be a mischievous little bastard who foments….. something. el plan etc etc. yes he fucking blackmailed mclaren yes he has committed war crimes yes he is a misogynist. what is this twitter? i do not have to be morally correct here. and lest we forget he is in fact a fantastic fucking driver (hot). let the slow dismantling of the stroll dynasty begin. and he has the most important variable in my calculations: he is interesting.
10
guanyu. my problem here is vibe check coming up empty. he’s reasonably good looking, he’s nice, he seems to be in love with val (good taste! see the coffee video) he’s the second most stylish man in the paddock mostly by virtue of the competition being fucking pathetic. he’s a little short but i am not prejudiced against short kings! but personality wise i fear there is not much there although probably this is on me for being a dumb american and not speaking chinese. also he’s like. ungodly rich. like richer than stroll. and the CCP of it all is not beautiful. perhaps most damningly: is he a good driver? i do not know! give him another year, but the jury remains undecided. he is right in the middle but i reserve the right to move him up pending developments
9
logan. you don’t know how much it pains me to put this motherfucker in the top ten. he looks like he was recruited into the us military directly out of high school because he was failing english and knew he couldn’t get into college, but unfortunately he is also objectively very handsome. he’s not higher for obvious reasons (florida. donald trump.) but i cannot put him lower purely off the virtue of his captain america fucking face. fuck him i hope alex makes him cry real tears on track by lapping him in every single race. but he is hot. maybe he'll prove me wrong and he can stay here! but if he brings fucking..... jd vance or whatever as a guest to a gp it's straight to 20 i shit you not.
8
alex. out of all the men on this list alex is probably the one i would most like to date. he’s nice, he’s reasonably charming, he’s a feminist, he’s got the angst of losing that red bull seat without the pierre of it all, he’s got the compelling homoerotic friendship with george but you know what this is not sash’s list of dateable men it is driver hotness and we must acknowledge the fact that he is not particularly good looking! like estie he has a fucking banana nuts hot girlfriend, but facially he is not always giving. he’s cute; he’s not necessarily hot. he’s this high only because i kept bumping him up because i was like “well i can’t put him below fucking LOGAN”. also, while i believe he’s a good driver, is he REALLY good, or just good? beating the shit out of latifi does not convince me of anything! like mick beating the shit out of mazepin it’s pretty much guaranteed to happen.
7
max. ok ell hear me out. right now he is not looking too hot but it's because of the bad haircut and he’s not racing. being good at things, say it with me, is hot and the only thing, the ONLY THING in max’s life is being good at racing. he’s fucking fast. also, he seems like he’s actually kind of a fun guy. when he laughs at his own jokes that is very cute i think. the little eye crinkles. the cheeks. when he’s got his hair grown out a little and a five o’clock shadow going… he can fool me into thinking he’s actually good looking and doesn't a little bit resemble sid the sloth from the ice age movies (sorry. but it's true) and the version of him i have made up in my head and convinced myself is real is extremely fucking compelling!!!! admittedly the kelly dynamic almost knocked him down but it takes two people to make a dynamic and i guarantee you i would not be giving any maternal energy at all. i think i could fix him (introduce him to pegging)
6
yuki. that’s right fuck you. he’s funny as fuck and we could do karaoke together. i would carry him around in my tote bag and he could eat off the children’s menu at restaurants (cost of living is high you save where you can.) he’s giving face and he’s giving body he’s actually so fucking handsome and the reason people are sleeping on how beautiful he is is because of the particularities of anti-asian racism, where “western” people read traditionally east-asian features as unmasculine, and therefore they are either fetishized or dismissed as romantic/sexual partners entirely. well i’m anti-racism bitch! yuki is HOT! also i know he’s not that good at driving or whatever but do you know what’s even hotter than being good at things? not giving a SHIT!!!! yuki is the spiritual successor to kimi raikonnen on this grid i’m fucking right and i’m the only one brave enough to say it. f1 is a hobby for him and he treats the sport exactly as it should be treated (with disdain, like it’s a mild inconvenience or errand on par with vacuuming) maybe this is inconsistent with my "being good at things is hot theory" but you know what? fuck you. it's my list i do what i want. if i contradict myself than i contradict myself
5
george. yeah…… i’m quite frankly a little shocked and upset he’s this high. i know i made this list myself but i’m not keeping track very well in all honesty and i’m about four drinks in. but you know what? i’m not blaming alcohol. this is accurate for my hotness rankings. i’m a bit of a george girl at the moment. every new fact i learn about him makes him more compelling to me. he's the george bit of alex's homoerotic relationship with george! really i only need one story about him to compel me: getting himself into the merc driver program with the power of microsoft powerpoint. he’s the most “he’s just like me fr” driver on the grid for me and i’m a big enough woman to admit that. the version of him i’ve made up inside my head has a personality and you know what? unfortunately for the haters he has proved them all wrong and he’s an excellent fucking driver. i don’t think he’s better than lewis but he stood up to the pressure of that second merc seat fucking fantastically even with his biological father there judging his performance the whole time! and i know he looks a little bit like a robot but it must be admitted! he is attractive! he’s got a great body! idk i’m gaslighting myself i guess it’s my deep-seated american desire to infiltrate the upper classes of england and bring it all down from the inside. but i’m keeping him in spot number five. and fuck anyone who disagrees.
4
valtteri. i mean. other than yuki the closest to kimi we can get on the current grid. lost his merc seat and immediately said “my ass will be fully out for the rest of my life and there is nothing you can do about it” can you imagine the amount of time toto wasted just saying “no valtteri you cannot post hole on instagram”. he’s a feminist he’s an icon! he’s not an outstanding driver but he’s solid! by number of wins currently fourth best cunt on the grid i believe! the mustache! he has alex albon energy in that i would actually date him but i think he’s more attractive. he is the only blond-haired blue-eyed man on the list who does not even a little bit activate the “nazi detector” in my brain which is admittedly a little overactive in the current political climate. i don’t know love isn’t rational. but i love him. i love him, your honor. and you will not convince me otherwise with facts (he's not really objectively all that physically attractive)
3
carlos. look the ferrari boys were pretty close together and ell i know you disagree with me here but ultimately it comes down to one thing i will discuss in the charles ranking and a couple things i will discuss here. yes he’s hot. fucking obviously. it’s barely worth pointing it out he’s outrageously attractive. but as i have said many times hotness is about more than the physical! and the vibe check is mixed. he does have the most compelling flavor of daddy issues (father is loving and supportive but still an unattainable ideal. the closest thing to god on earth for carlos sainz jr is carlos sainz sr and what a terrible legacy that is to bear) but on the other hand golf! and he has a weird and not very sexy voice! and he’s probably violently catholic! and there’s stories about him being kind of a dick to fans! i did not verify either of those things but fuck you this isn't journalism. and, most damningly, i believe that when it comes to driving he is…… FUCKING MID. there i said it. he got lucky his first year with and he’s still in denial about being the second driver to charles leclerc. have you seen the fucking instagram? girl fred vasseur may say he'll let it be decided on track but charles is coming to family dinners in the vasseur household. delusion is not hot unless it’s in a funny way (see: fernando, el plan). and i swear to christ if he messes up even a single race for charles this season because he thinks he’s better i will knock him down to the bottom of his list without remorse.
2
charles. it’s my list fuck you. other than george, charles (the version of him i have made up inside my head) is the most like me on the grid. he is— pause for dramatic effect— fucking COMPELLING. (benoit blanc voice) you know i love a narrative and he’s got a fucking narrative. he plays the piano (hot) he’s got the sexiness of the french language without the lameness of being french (yes i believe monaco is a historical mistake and a geopolitical aberration and should be incorporated into france and all those cunts should pay taxes but objectively monaco is very sexy!!! walt whitman i contain multitudes) and he’s got the catholic guilt of driving for ferrari without the lameness of actual catholicism (looking at you carlos) is he the most interesting bitch in the world? no. but he can hold a conversation, he has more interests than just racing and video games, and he’s much funnier in french, and as these boring ass guys go he’s pretty funny even in english. also, again, takes two to make a dynamic and i am funny enough for any two people on the planet. also, and this must be said, he’s a fucking excellent driver. BEING GOOD AT THINGS IS HOT! AND we have not even mentioned the fact that physically speaking he is what we call a Specimen. he’s got body, he’s got face. i know you don’t think he does ell but with respect you are wrong. he’s got the cheekbones he’s got the nose he’s got the fucking ridiculous shoulder to hip ratio, he’s got the hand porn. he has literal protagonist eye syndrome (they appear to be different colors depending on the lighting) he’s fucking insanely hot.
1
Lewis. I mean it’s just quite literally the only correct answer. he’s giving face, he’s giving body. the tattoos! dan thinks he has cool tattoos but he has pete davidson disease lewis actually has really cool tattoos. but his hotness is literally the least compelling thing about him. he’s multi-talented (music??? so hot) he’s not just a racer, but like, let’s not discount the fact he is the best f1 driver of all time. like i’ve established it’s hot when people are good at things (except golf). he’s not a businessman he’s a business, man. he’s got mad fucking drip. his politics are.............. of mixed quality really but by comparison he's practically bernie sanders. of all the drivers he’s the one i think i could make a socialist if i had a twenty minute conversation with him. i could get him to read marx i could get him to read zizek. not even to mention the compelling fucking narrative of his life. the karting years the brocedes of it all the mclaren civil war he is producing CONTENT. yes he speaks like a motivational poster and the dog account is cringe but the flaws make him human. if he were too perfect he would be less hot.
this is the judgement of the court
#ell i love you but this really should not see the light of day#max verstappen#charles leclerc#lewis hamilton#valtteri bottas#carlos sainz#george russell#yuki tsunoda#alex albon#sigh. why did i write this#oh that's right! drunk.

Is there anything known about the sexuality of George Villiers? Asking because I'm curious if he only had sex with men for power of if he genuinely enjoyed it (I hope the latter).
I wish I could give you a confident answer but unfortunately my amateur dabblings have been much more focused on James, so what I know of George is mostly in relation to James. I don't know enough about George's affairs to say for sure.
Also complicated by the fact that it's very hard to prove sexual relationships between men in a homophobic time period (indeed when sodomy carried the death penalty). James is so interesting in in part for the fact that his intense feelings for men, and their romantic and probably sexual nature, are so obvious.
For sure, George was very interested in women and had numerous affairs. I've heard about (but do not know enough to judge the trustworthiness of the accounts) affairs with Lucy Hay (wife of James's previous favorite James Hay!!), attempts in Spain to seduce the Count of Olivares's wife, an open infatuation with Anne of Austria, etc. Even if I'm not confident about saying which affairs he really had, in one of Katherine Villiers's letters to her husband, she writes, "for truly you are so good a man that, but for one sin, you are not so great an offender, only your loving women so well."
George was definitely the object of many men's admiration and sexual interest, such as that of William Laud. I am not sure about evidence for George's own interest in men. I read that @diana9241livejournalcom read in Leandra de Lisle's Henrietta Maria that George himself had a male favorite, Walter Montagu, but I haven't read the book myself and don't know anything about this guy.
George's letters to James are definitely very affectionate, full of specific recollections and flirtations, and his interactions with James were observed to be bawdy, "saucie", and close, but it's impossible to say if he really meant it or if he was perfectly performing for the king -- acting as the ultimate seducer.
Somebody who knows more about George might be able to answer you better.

I think one of the biggest things I enjoy about your particular theories is that you're almost always bringing contextual evidence to back it up. You're referencing the themes, referencing the patterns, referencing the book itself to prove your ideas. It's like if someone has in an AP English club, like writing papers for fun, and that's what really elevates this shit.
thank you this is extremely sweet. it is just how i was taught so i cant do it in any other way. it was hammered into my head pretty hard, and i do notice fandom not really following the “rules” of literary analysis, which is fine. but like i feel a need to structure my analysis and use quotes the way i do, also i do like to focus on literary devices + always look at the text holistically. i am insufferably lit brained sadly it was my fave class in high school. i also just love finding and dissecting patterns so so much and george is obsessed with writing them so
#ask#ur compliments are so sweet guys but if u all keep setting me up shhdjs#not doing lit anymore#i took hl ib lit which is college course like? but it is pretty specific in how its designed idk im not familiar with american systems#i think the primary difference is that we didnt really focus on english lit#like not british/american centric ib has to be international lit#my lit teacher still my fav teacher oat i love u mrs hughes u r the realest#i do actually find literary analysis very fun#most ppl fucking hated it but for me it was always the most fun and the easiest again i think its just how my brain works it likes doing it

Hi, its me again. In regard to my question about sir Anthony Blunt being maybe an illegitimate son of George V, that possibility is mentioned in the book "War of the Windsors - A Century of Unconstitutional Monarchy" published on dec 2002.
According to an article posted by Herald news in 2002 :
"George V is known to have enjoyed the favours of mistresses. It is conceivable that one of these mistresses may have been Blunt's mother
The book features photographs of Blunt, the Duke of Kent, and the Duke of Windsor - all born in the same generation. Although not conclusive of a blood relationship, the resemblances are remarkable.
Blunt was born in September 1907, the youngest of three sons. His father was Reverend Stanley Blunt, vicar of the village of Ham, and his mother Hilda Masters. They married in 1900 and in 1906, a year before Anthony was born. Blunt died in 1983.
Hilda Masters knew Queen Mary before she became Queen - they used to go blackberry-picking together - and the two women remained friends for the rest of their lives. The book says, of George V, husband of Mary: ''Even this allegedly most uxorious of royal husbands was known to have mistresses - at the seaside resort of Bognor, for example.
''Like many Victorian ladies, Mary may have welcomed the reprieve from the horror of sexual intimacy, even if it meant her great friend took her place in her husband's bed.''
I think that George V being a very private person, knew how to be careful with his image in public. He criticized his sons for smoking in public, not for actually smoking.
Just because there is no evidence of George V having mistresses, does not make it a fact that he did not have mistresses. It might mean he successfully hid that.
When a man has the position, the status and the good looks like George did, will inevitably attract the opposite gender. He wasnt a catch, he was the ultimate catch. And he knew how to hide his dark side from the public image he created, very well. He was loved by his people because of how he presented himself in public. But behind doors, he wasnt so nice I have heard.
Well, thats just my opinion. I may be wrong. Please post this and let me know your opinion about it. I will read it with great curiosity and I promise that I wont bother you again. Thanks in advance
Hi! Of course, I can not prove for sure that George did not have mistresses (no one can), but my argument is that there has only been a few people to fully have access to George V/Queen Mary papers (Pope Hennessy, Jane Ridley, Kenneth Rose, and Alexandra Churchill) and each one agreed that George was monogamous. The book you mention is just a bunch of unproven royal gossip without credible sources.
George V would have had people around him at all times. He was NOT rumored to have mistresses and the likelihood of him somehow keeping that secret is unrealistic. I also wouldn't describe him having a "dark side". He had a temper, like Queen Victoria, Edward Vii, and George VI.
Those who knew George V say his character was kind and considerate (excluding David of course). His temper, which I agree, probably would have shocked the public at the time, was not a defining characteristic of who he was, even though many Royal journalists want people to believe so. Everyone does something at times that doesn't make them look good but that doesn't mean they live a double life. I'm sure even the very nice Queen Elizabeth II said/did things that she wouldn't want to be made public and would make the public see her differently. Makes her human!

The Simpsons Season 10: My thoughts
10 seasons of The Simpsons. Can you believe it? 10 seasons! Most shows don't make it this far so I imagine this would've been hella impressive at the time but I know in my heart that if The Simpsons came out today, it would never have made it this far (seriously, look up any cartoons that came out after 2011, I can garuntee most of them barely made it past 2 seasons, networks don't like original ideas anymore :c).
Now starting from this season, the episode storylines start to get more zany and silly. This could be a turn-off for some but I personally love this season for that. The wackier, the better (at least for now).
Favourite Episodes:
The Wizard of Evergreen Terrace
I like Homer's inventions, even if they're mostly stupid and the episode is pretty funny as usual. Also fun fact, Edison was a dickhead who stole most of his ideas.
Bart the Mother
I like Bart and Marge's dynamic throughout the latter part of the episode and how Bart genuinely cares for the eggs. Sadly, this episode marks the final appearance of Troy McClure.
When You Dish Upon a Star
Homer's dynamic with the celebrities is pretty funny and I don't know if this was intentional or not but I can kind of see both sides of their arguments (more the celebs than Homer).
D'oh-in' in the Wind
Wow. First Alec Baldwin and now George Carlin. What are the odds of this show have a Thomas the Tank Engine narrator as the guest 2 episodes in a row? Anyway, Homer trying to be a hippy is hilarious, as well as the Power Plant commercial at the beginning.
Mayored to the Mob
This one is pretty funny, I honestly don't think there's a full 2 minutes in this episode that doesn't have a good line or gag.
Sunday, Cruddy Sunday
I dunno, I just like it.
Homer to the Max
Homer changes his name to avoid being connected to a bumbling TV character and it goes down about as well as you'd expect. I love this one.
I'm with Cupid
The lengths Apu would go to impress his wife are very sweet and the lengths the other men in Springfield would go to sabotage him are hilariously pathetic. Not to mention a fun appearance from Elton John.
Maximum Homerdrive
This episode is funny already but the fact that my Mum is a truck driver makes me appreciate this episode even more.
Mom and Pop Art
This episode is funny as a whole but the sole reason it's on this list is for the scene where Homer tries to build a BBQ pit. I honestly think it's one of if not THE funniest scene in the entire show!
The Old Man and the "C" Student
Again, I dunno, I just like this one.
They Saved Lisa's Brain
The competition at the beginning, Lisa finding people she can relate to, the late Stephen Hawking showing up to prove that as well as being a genius, he also had a good sense of humour about himself. I like this one.
Not so Favourite Episode:
Wild Barts Can't Be Broken
Again, it's not a bad episode at all but I find it unfair that the town forces a curfew on the kids when there is little to no evidence that it was even kids who vandalized the school. That aside, the kids way of getting revenge as well as the rest of the episode as a whole is alright (that and all the adults under 70 forced into a curfew is a nice bit of karma).
Make Room for Lisa
Lisa learns to appreciate Homer's feelings a bit more but I feel as though Homer didn't learn crap, even though the episode made it clear that he needed to learn how to be more considerate of Lisa's feelings.
Don't have any extra stuff to talk about so we'll go to the conclusion.
And there we go, 10 seasons. These reviews are getting harder and harder to type so I'm gonna take another break from these.

Worthy Brief - November 25, 2024
Experience it!
Genesis 22:1 Now it came to pass after these things that God tested (Hebrew word len-a-sot, to try) Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
John 6:5-6 Then Jesus lifted up [His] eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?" But this He said to test (Hebrew word, lenasot, to try) him, for He Himself knew what He would do.
James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials (nisayon (noun form of lenasot)), knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have [its] perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
The testing of Abraham's faith was repeated by YHVH throughout the patriarch's entire life. The tests grew greater as his life advanced, and through everyone, whether Abraham passed or not, YHVH proved Himself to be his friend over and over again. Every test or "trial" involved a serious challenge or threat in which Abraham had to trust that the LORD knew what He was doing, asking, or requiring, and that His goodness and faithfulness were unquestionably reliable.
This type of testing or trying of faith is displayed throughout the Scriptures. In an entirely different setting, Yeshua (Jesus) asked His disciple Philip a question, "Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?" The purpose of the question was simply to try Philip's faith. The Hebrew, "lenasot" "to try, or test", in the Greek is "pi-ras-mos", which carries an interesting connotation: "proving by experiment".
James, the Lord's brother, speaks of the "testing of our faith", as well. Though we often think of this testing in negative terms, James exhorts us to "count it all joy", never mind that it's virtually certain there will be little pleasure in the experience of any trial. The fact is that trials function as experiments, and experiences, which serve to prove and improve our faith. In the Hebrew New Testament (Brit Chadasha) the word for "trial" is "ni-sa-yon", which also happens to be the word for "experience" and "experiment".
So the trials we experience are literally, experiments upon our faith. And while it is clear that God Himself does not tempt us, we also know that He allows our faith to be proven by experience, and experimentally verified. Faith is not based on experience; it is based on revelation from God. But it's genuineness is tested by experience. And it ought to be growing through every trial, producing a deeper comprehension of God's faithfulness.
Your faith is being proved to be genuine through testing and trial; experimentally and experientially, just as was the faith of Abraham, Philip, and every true saint of the Lord. For while faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen -- it will be proven in, by, and through the very hard experiences and realities of your life. This is not accidental but very much in the plans and purposes of the Lord.
Your family in the Lord with much agape love,
George, Baht Rivka, Obadiah and Elianna (Tampa, Florida)

Above you share a screenshot from George's website from 2018 (almost six years old and we still don't have TwoW, fuck me). George responds to a commenter who ships Jonsa and desperately wants to know if it becomes canon in the sixth book. George says that he won't tell anything than he already has. What he has shown is possible paths for a Jonrya or a Jonerys endgame. What he specifically hasn't shown is a Jonsa endgame.
You said that Jonsa's aren't "allowed" into the club, which I disagree with. It's not that Jonsa's aren't allowed in the club, it's that many Jonsa stans steal cannonically Jonerys/Jonrya content from the books and then turn around and say it's Jonsa content which annoys the fuck out of Jonerys and Jonrya fans. It's fine to love crack ships, I have a fair amount of my own that I adore, but I know they won't actually end up as canon like Aegrya (Aegon IV x Arya). Some Jonsas understand this. A lot (including yourself as far as I can tell, but if I am wrong I apologize) have more or less gaslighted themselves into believe their crack ship is in fact canon, the one true ship to save them all. You say most Jonsa theories stem from the books rather than the TV show. I'm honestly curious what proof you have of this. I say this as a Jonrya diehard shipper who can also absolutely see a Jonerys endgame and be perfectly content with it, because there is actual textual evidence leading towards it in pretty much all the books. What proof do you have other than proving a negative?
Also why throw in Tyrion being a secret Targ (which I don't subscribe to, Tyrion is Tywin's son through and through imo) with ships that you don't believe in?
I’ll never get over this - what an insanely cryptic statement to make . It’s also interesting that GRRM will give long rambling answers about other ships (as he tends to do in interviews and asks) but this is his response here. Short and sweet but ambiguous and entirely up to one’s interpretation - essentially think about what you’ve read.
And then it had me thinking…
To imply that George isn’t a careful writer and doesn’t put immensely intricate thought into every sentence he writes is entirely reductive to him as a writer. Especially if you claim to be a fan of said writing (you’d have to be apart of this fandom). This is the man who has taken 13 years to write TWOW, who consistently writes, scraps, and rewrites chapters if he dislikes them or they don’t fit what he’s envisioned.
And with a fandom that has discussed, debated and analysed every possible theory - providing some well-thought out essays onto the internet, consistently stating that nothing is ever a coincidence with George before delving into a lengthy analysis - it has me wondering why said theorists and ‘very intelligent’ contingents of fans will be grasping, bursting blood vessels, losing their mind and their sanity in the process just to disprove a possible match between J/S.
Now as an example that I’ve come across just yesterday on the infamous r/asoiaf - When S*nsan is brought into the conversation, it’s absolutely accepted as a plausible theory due to *checks notes* people devoting time to and picking apart evidence and to the wider fandom either not dismissing it or remaining neutral about it. (I mean, the redditor I was made privy to yesterday just disproved the Ashford tourney theory and it’s connection to Jon on the basis that it was made by a s*nsan shipper - wow !! Thanks :)) I never knew , finally my rose tinted glasses have been removed and I can bow down to you, oh wise redditor … these J words are CRAZY delusionals indeed!!
This is just one example among the many of the possible future romances that are debated endlessly on the various social media platforms , and all said ships - whether they’ve met or interacted or are very close or whatever require analysis . Deep deep analysis. Picking apart sentences, imagery, chapter ordering, literary references you name it . We all become literature students, and every ship is privy to it and hey ! More power to them - we’re all just having fun here theorising about all the possibilities for a book/s that has not yet been released.
So it begs the question , and bear with me here - I know I’ve been talking quite a lot about people opposed to and entirely dismissive of my ship - but yesterdays’ conundrum had me thinking about generalised fandom receptiveness.
See, normal fans (normal people) when presented with a theory that they genuinely believe to be so absurd/dislike/are entirely opposed to , would simply block the user, filter the content, and move on with their lives. A far happier solution, it means you’re not worked into a frenzy over something you’re aware you don’t like. Yay! Everyone’s happy! But…..
People must be debby-downers and ruin the fun , turning into genuine clouds of negativity, invading tags in which they don’t belong, creating anti blogs, writing lengthy essays disproving it all - yep, we’ve seen it, and we just ignore it as best we can.
But it gets to a point where it’s just frustrating. Because this is all so painfully hypocritical. If said intelligent fandom can provide 3 hour video essays, 50,000 word essays and reddit debates of threads with 100+ replies based on the notion of tyrion being a targaryen, or j*nrya is actually canon or the blue rose is metaphor for a future romance whatever theory that’s been put into the world - why - gods why does the entire fandom jump on the bandwagon of hating/dismissing Jonsa as soon as it’s brought up as a theory??
When we are just doing what everyone else has been doing vigorously for the last 13 years - theorising, analysing, debating like we’re literature students (and I’m a lit major, so it does feel this way). And whilst we quietly engage with and make our content, we’re ridiculed, picked apart, and vilified elsewhere for being awfully stupid people - because ….why?? Oh yes, that’s right - it is not a valid plausible theory at all, we just ship it because we self insert as sansa and jon is a heroic figure or the even sillier assumption - because Kit and Sophie are attractive people (which indeed they are, but most theories stem from the books, lmao.)
Sooo, essentially jonsas aren’t allowed into the club because …. (Well I’m actually still wondering why), because every other popular ship theory is either incestuous or involves a child being shipped with a grown person.) so Jonsa is obviously the latter, but that’s not the reason that the general fandom (J*nerys and to an extent, J*nrya) dislike them because those too - are incestuous.
If you’re an individual who is uncomfortable with all incest ships period . Then I respect that since I understand it. What I don’t understand, as seen through reddit and what I was made privy to yesterday, - were the multitude of disprovers fine with J*nerys and J*nrya and S*nsan but god forbid someone brings up Jonsa because then it’s a crackship - except all those other ships I mentioned are valid because people have analysed and theorised and written metas etc etc etc and Jonsa’s are just plain silly crackshippers.
I really have to wonder about fandom mentality, because it’s making less and less sense to me ….
Anyway George you ARE a sly one and I’ll always giggle when I come across that image.

50 Days of HypnoKink - Day 43: Hypnotic Theory
Alignment: Ambivalent or Top. I know there are resources on learning how to Bottom. But have you considered I prefer private instruction?
Jokes aside. I love hypnotic theory. I always have.
In fact, here's an exert from a moment that I first started reading her Anxiety Toolkit.
Thing is I'm a really bad study. I read these things and absorb them, they change how I think and how I approach things, but after I move on to the next book I forget what was in the last one. The ways my style changes remain but I am just horrible at internalizing rote facts and learning.
People say I'm clever. Goddess even told me once that she thinks I know more about hypnosis than her, which is a compliment I cannot accept. I know my shit. I practice.
I just don't feel good at this.
I never really finished school. I got pulled out at 16. I was an average student at best who was trying her hardest. I remember seeing that one Simpsons episode where Bart breaks down in tears over studying for a test and failing and feeling seen. Teen me wanted to go to college, wanted to be Smart because at the time I thought Smart was strong.
I get really weird about my perceived intelligence because I cannot believe myself to be smart... but somewhere along the way I tricked people into never really seeing me as the dumbass I feel myself as. I guess the thing I'd say here is, I have massive amounts of curiosity and I enjoy learning.
I just suck at memorization. I should be nicer to myself for that. Theory brings me joy. I should be proud of that.

I completely agree dream is in deep, but what's the proof of george liking dream like that at all? Just wondering! <3 love your blog btw.
We all know Dream is in love with George, but does George love Dream too? My answer is yes, George is just as whipped for Dream as Dream is for George. Let’s look at the evidence.
George is clearly happier when Dream is around, even when Dream is in the call and just enters frame again George smiles (shout out to @themoonwastaken for noticing that). Furthermore, George doesn’t like when Dream leaves and wants to know where Dream goes if he does leave.
Dream is George’s favorite person, they’re each other’s favorite people, and this is proven in this compilation. The two mention each other when the other isn’t around, for no other reason then just to bring up their favorite person. This reminds me (and I don’t think I have a clip of it unfortunately) of before MCC12 when George was teamed with Wilbur, Philza, and TapL before the event started he was running around looking for Dream and when he finally found Dream he hung around him and wouldn’t leave his side. Then later on, Wilbur said something like “let me kill the other kings, because you’re the only king here George” and George immediately said, “Dream” implying that Dream is a king in George’s eyes.
Dream isn’t the only jealous boyfriend in this relationship friendship because George gets green as well. George can deny it all he wants, but the clear jealousy when Dream isn’t soley on George is so often there (plus this video at 2:29).
I feel like it wouldn’t be my blog if I didn’t mention Name Truthing. There’s this iconic clip of George calling Dream’s name just because he finds comfort it in and then not knowing what to say when Dream says “what?”. The name truthing in this clip is just *chefs kiss*. There are several videos/streams moments where George will say “Dre-Sapnap” proving that Dream is on George’s mind all the time. T
It’s just so obvious and cute how much George wants to be near Dream. He wants to hug his homie so badly. He wants to physically be with Dream more than anything. It’s so obvious that other people call it out (that lip bite at the mention of Dream 😳).
Also idk where to put it but I just love this clip of George being so happy that he and Dream won together.
Plus just George’s reaction (or lack of reaction) to Sapnap flirting with him vs George’s reaction to Dream flirting with him are just astronomically different. Plus in this clip, George’s huge smile when Dream is frantically opening Minecraft to get a kiss from him and his nervous “what do you want Dream?” and the way George wanted to kiss DREAM and not Sapnap. Even when probably a fake Dream donates to George to flirt when him, George can’t help but blush a little.
Plus I just love everything about this clip, George is lost and can’t find his friends - Sapnap and Bad were both in the call - but he only calls out for Dream. As the two are trying to find each other and George is running and yelling, I love how you can hear Dream saying “I’m coming to find you! I’m on my way to you!” Then, when Dream finds him Dream says, “George you are my best friend” - look at the smile on George’s face when he says it - and then says, “unless this is all pretend” and George immediately says, “No this is not pretend, this is real!” Anyways, I just love that clip.
On the SMP, George was very vague about his feelings towards Dream after Dream had dethroned and sorta betrayed George’s trust and I think that shows that George really wants to be on Dream’s side and doesn’t want them as enemies. Even when Karl, Quackity, and Sapnap were jokingly hunting down Dream, George just couldn’t stand to see his boyfriend in trouble so he took the death for him.
For George, who I think we can all agree is an extremely private person to give his number out to Dream and let his calls go through silent mode just because Dream “needs him sometimes”. Just speaks volumes. Btw, I think the only reason Karl had George’s number was for Mr. Beast’s creator games where both Dream and George competed.
George knows how to calm Dream down in a way that no one else does, George understand Dream’s mind and how it races. So in this clip, where George finally realizes that Dream is actually stressing out, he comforts Dream and tries to get him calmed down.
Something else I noticed while I was looking through clips is, okay so we all know George is really bad at showing emotions and I explained in this post that I think he gets nervous and kinda throws things at Dream when he feels warm feelings. But I find it interesting that there are times when Dream suggested that he and George kissed and when Dream said “we lived happily ever after” that George completely turned away from Dream and changed his perspective. Idk I guess that’s just George being nervous that Dream is close to him but I just found it interesting.
So yes, I believe that George is also in love with Dream and that is my evidence. There’s a lot of other evidence like in Karl’s Jackbox streams where George just can’t stop mentioning Dream and I didn’t really look back at older streams but if I were to look for everything it would take me all day and I have MCC/Streamy’s streams to watch.
