so, heres a random update to the lore of my amrev oc, u can skip if u want-

so, valentino (tho his name used to be christopher but i changed it)'s mother was a maid at the castle, the king slept with her even tho he was married to the queen and she had a child, but as soon as the child was born the king took the baby from the hospital and the queen reluctantly forgave him and they raised the kid

the mother was told she miscarried and this lead her into a very unstable mental situation, whrre she'd go from furious to devastated to suicidal to murderous, and most od this was on her older son who was only 4 at the time (his name is christopher), she often blamed him for the miscarriage

valentino meanwhile grew up in the castle with 3 brothers,

damian was the oldest and very cold qnd distant

cyrus was middle and close to valentino

oliver was the only one younger than val and clung to him, he loved val and needed to stay with him constantly, which often meant val had to miss out on his life to take care of him.

when the war started, val (they are in the german or french or spanish kingdom idk which) begged his dad, he had traveled a lot but wanted to see war firsthand, and finally his dad let him pretend yo be just another german/spanish newspaper boy. he went to the war and went on both sides to report everything.

also he found he had a blood kink (why did i decide this? idk)

and i dont think i'll give him a love interest, let my boy just settle his chaotic mess of a life without romantic drama

Reddish-blonde hair (I suppose you could call it a strawberry blond)

Dark blue eyes

On the left is his boyfriend, Francis Jacobs :) They met when Benedict joined the continental army

History of Benedict:

Born 11 May 1758

His mother is from the Netherlands, and her father is from Ireland, he has a younger brother and had a younger sister and they all lived in Ireland.

He learned Dutch and French as well as English as a child

Joined redcoats when he was 17, but was sent home from a gunshot wound (this is where the treason comes in) and doesn’t return, instead sailing to the colonies and joining in their cause (at 18) 😁

He got close with a couple soldiers (Francis Jacobs, John Laurens(?), and a couple more as his close friends) [Ham if it’s not redcoat au]

His younger sister passed away in infancy when he was 8 and his brother 3, and he still is upset about it to this day, wishing that she could have grown up with them.

He plays viola, likes to write poetry, drawing or writing in his journal, reading, sewing, and talking to his friends around the fire :)

He is bi and demisexual (forget labels back then 😁)
