Part 1: My DR

this one is the owl house!

I've changed a solid bit of the plot, but the biggest change is gonna be me having titan powers and the collector sticking around! least for a few years

I'm super excited for my first day!!! Such a rabble will be roused. Exploring the Boiling Isles and hanging out with Eda and King.

I imagine it as kind of a cozy halloween thing, where it is definitely creepy sometimes, but it can be a lighthearted creepy.

My absolute favorite place in my dr has got to be the owl house itself. Hooty, Eda, King, Luz, right there near the beach? What's not to love?

After our follies at the coven day parade, I trip over my cape. Eda notices me struggling once we’re home and starts teasing me about not looking cool when I'm tripping over myself, and i say that it's a mom's whole m. o. to think their kid looks cool no matter what. Mini panic, freeze after realizing I called her mom, and I take off my cape. age old “Uh, hah, nevermind!” and I hide away upstairs

Next day, I head downstairs, there’s a sweater on the table made of the witch’s wool. There’s a note Eda left me on top that says 'what’s an m. o.?' and it’s my look for the next couple of seasons

Since I won't be comin' back, my safe word is "waiterium", so I'll just head back to my waiting room.

Part 3: My shifting journey

Gosh, how did I find out about shifting? I don't quite remember, but I think it's because I crossed paths through astral projection's subreddit.

My first shifting attempt is one of my closest on records. My script was pretty bare, but I did no method. Recited four different affirmations, and I started smelling humidity, which is one of the signs I scripted. I felt wind, and I opened my eyes too soon. this close.

Something that gives me motivation to shift is the idea of my best friends and my lovers. Spending time with people to learn more about them is amazing in my head, 'cus yippee for connection! So headcanons and pieces of fanfiction that delve more into characters get me super excited, all stimmy and such.

One piece of advice I'd give shifters is to give robotic affirmations a go. Personally, I've felt the most confident in shifting when I started telling myself that shifting is so easy, I'm a master shifter, to the point of catching myself whenever I think anything but.

normally the 11th hour "this random side character was actually your BIOLOGICAL FATHER!" twist would be dumb contrived drama fare, but...I think it actually kind of makes sense for the warp effect.

as other people have mentioned, ultimately it's a show about how alex has passed pain on to other people due to his OWN sexual trauma and mental blocks. and of course, that trauma had to come from somewhere - we already knew it came from his mother and religion, but it's very interesting to learn that THAT started as his mother's response to being betrayed by a man and left to fend for herself.

now we can plainly see a huge web of parallels, or better, repetitions. alex's sin is the same as the sin that begat him. and alex's guilt is the same as teacher saran's guilt. to an extent, alex's unwillingness to forgive teacher saran is the same as jean's unwillingness to forgive alex.

i'm not sure yet how those stories of forgiveness (or lack thereof) play out. but what's clear is that this show is telling us about the responsibility we have for others. loving someone, being with someone, puts responsibility on all of us to take care of them. otherwise, it creates hurt, especially for those who are often cast in a more critical light by society (women, queer people), and that hurt carries forward into the lives of our children.

Choosing your avatar in three houses felt like a tactical choice rather than a person one. maybe it's just me but choosing my player character gender has always been something very personal to me, which was probably because I'm a flavor of trans but this was still the case when I thought I was cis and was picking girl characters. It's easier for me to connect with the protagonist through gender, or even lackthereof should the game allow so

Picking a gender as a tactical choice in three houses isn't outlandish considering fire emblem as a whole is based off turn based strategy but I feel it didn't need to be brought over to the social aspect of the game, especially the gender of it

Sylvain instantly becoming available to you as F!Byleth is funny and I think it's dealt with great because if you choose m!Byleth you aren't completely cut off from Sylvain, you just have a different way to recruit him, which is how I feel like it should be done with the romance aspects of the game too. Not directly in this way, but what I mean is I wish the option of for example marrying Sylvain as M!Byleth was still an option so I wouldn't HAVE to pick F!Byleth just to do so
