REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA (2008)

This film is a garbage fire....AND I CAN NOT GET ENOUGH. The plot is an amazing original and futuristic idea that's fresh and well thought out. It makes a very important statement about the health system and how it fails 90% of the polulation. The characters are all fundamentally flawed and mostly unlikable, and strangely enough, that's what makes me love them all. The wardrobe seems to be sponsored solely by Hot Topic and Spencers. It's all so silly and cheesy, but that's what makes it amazing. The directors knew they're audience and oh baby, did they deliver. All tye songs are absolute bangers. I understand that having 98% of the lines sung instead of spoken may turn prospective viewers away, but if that sort of thing doesn't bother you, it's a must-see. I can not stop singing this film praises and it quickly became one of my absolute favorites. Do yourself a favor and give this bad boy a try.

Musicals are time loops. Every night, the same thing happens except for a few minor differences. It always ends the same. If you want the characters to do something different or to make better choices, too bad. The actors are bound by the script and the score. The only way for the time loop to end is for the show to close. But you (the audience) don't want the show to close, nor do the actors who would like to be employed. It's a lose/lose situation. For the actors, audience, technicians, and for the characters, who are forever stuck in the same stretch of time.
