#gist of it all was haha smoke things you could do 2d-specific medium wise #was oddly enamoured at the concept of seeing joey superimposed whenever the smoke of burning obscured jozef. because idea of smoke purifyin #from hao. and also the similar costumes. genuinely so !! at the idea. got a few frames done in colour then gave tf up but maybe i could #be persuaded to render this in grayscale + golden overlay layers for sepia tones. i kinda see it.#was talking to cc when i first got about to this floating mess of an idea abt comic? animatic?? and like. mystery never resolved ig #// for this to work i guess also you would Have to use the specific smoke artstyle i've been using for the ghost story work in which it's #somehow... opaque? yeah. rifts!#ask me stuff???#anyway. sorry again about not getting to asks i am Not Very Good at actively responding to them lately. hope u are doing well #melliotposting moment what do you mean it's almost adamandianniversary again! passing of time..#into the melliotverse #ghost story musical

i really really want to be home and sleep in my own bed and do my little edmonton things and stuff but also tabling for work is starting up again and im like myyyrrrhhgh the idea of going to the science centre for the adult night within a week of my return just makes me So Tired in my SOUL

getting a migraine today of all days was so evil

#i wanna talk about me #i had a quick doc appt in the morning but after that i was home all day with no commitments #i had so much i wanted to get done re: packing and schoolwork #but my headache just wiped me tf out for most of the afternoon and evening #i ended up taking like a ninety minute nap cause i just felt so out of it #i did manage to finish my music history reading for tomorrow though i only had a couple of pages left #and i finished one reading for my library professions class. the longest one. but i didn't get to any of the others or the recorded lecture #like i wanted to #i did get my new internet set up. and made a big dinner with leftovers for the next couple of days #but. absolutely no new progress made on packing.#and no one on facebook marketplace is following up on the bedding i'm trying to get rid of 😫#i'm giving it away for free but the only three hits i've got never responded past the first message guys Please. Just Take It...#in hindsight it's probably the weather that did me in today. it's been rainy i think this is the straggling edge of a tropical storm or smt #i don't think pressure is exclusively the cause of my migraines but it does seem sometimes to coincide? idk...#i really ought to see a neurologist. but. sigh #not right now #i just better not get another one tomorrow or saturday or i'll turn into the joker fr. cannot be dealing with this again this week #ibuprofen isn't enough i need novocaine in my grey tissue

okay but Taylor’s prologue made me cry.

#it’s actually the first time (or one of at least!) where I feel like she’s put some of her own power into words really accurately #I love all of Taylor’s writing because it’s sincere and because it’s her #but her non-songwriting writing has always been fairly standard to me #sweet. sometimes funny. sometimes clever. but generally presenting some truth that’s fairly obvious #ljke even her midnights intro. go out searching for ourselves. twisting in our self-made cages #yeah yeah yeah #(the cages. we’ve all seen ‘em)#just rarely tapping into the truth of things the way her music does #so I was SHOOK when she started talking about the pressure she faced after fearless #and how she responded to it #like !!!!!!!! Omg there it is. the steel and the power that made her such a compelling force so early #and there it is!!!!! how deeply the criticisms about everything but especially her voice and her songwriting cut her open #also this re-recording project is so interesting because she CAN be more honest #first go around her MO was always to present things as positively and as graciously as she could while still making her points #but this lays all those parts of herself she worked to master and present in the best light bare #and I love to see it!#taylor swift #speak now (taylor’s version)

re-read that rap post and realized that the person in the tags that was like "i'm not that weak rap just talks too much about sex and violence and i'm not about that. anyway i turn to screamo and thrash metal"

dragging my nails down my face MY GUY SEX AND VIOLENCE IS EVERYWHERE IN MUSIC ESPECIALLY METAL and if you're only rejecting someone's ability to talk about sex and violence based on a genre pioneered and helmed by Black people (so was rock n roll but that's a discussion for another time...!) then you're just saying that you don't like it when sex and violence is talked about by Black people, to say nothing of "you can't speak of your personal experiences"

@freevoidman mentioned WAP in their tags and i will put my whole chest into believing about how much that's a capital F Feminist song to me if you want to put labels onto it, like be careful if you say things like BIPOC sexuality should be respected but then turn around and degrade rap for having sex in it especially when it's by a woman
