as someone who is both acespec and arospec (demirose/demisexual+demiromantic), i’m really happy that there’s a week for us. anyway, time for some awareness:

basic definitions

asexual: refers to an individual who experiences little to no sexual attraction.

aromantic: refers to an individual who experiences little to no romantic attraction.

aroace: asexual + aromantic

demisexual: refers to an individual who only experiences sexual attraction once there’s an emotional bond formed.

demiromantic: refers to an individual who only experiences romantic attraction once there’s an emotional bond formed.

demirose: demisexual + demiromantic

graysexual: refers to an individual who only experiences sexual attraction sometimes, sometimes not at all, or under specific circumstances.

grayromantic: refers to an individual who only experiences sexual attraction sometimes, sometimes not at all, or under specific circumstances.

+ many more. I recommend doing research!

important things to note are:

aroacespec people are not in a phase. we’re valid. we’re real. some of us get into relationships or do the thing, some of us may not. some of us fluctuate. some of us are repulsed by all things of that nature.

and most importantly… we all still experience love! we are not emotionless beings <3 (platonic/familial/friendship type love, that is!!)

INTRO POST... (and I'm going on a break!)

hi! so I do realise I never properly introduced myself. I'm Neve, I'm a guy, he/him. mainly an artist, but I also write, and I'm part of a theatre ensemble as part of my college, therefore I am formally studying theatre and performance. I'm also formally studying English at an advanced level and psychology.

I have diagnosed ADHD, and I may have autism (ask my psychiatrist, he's apparently not sure yet. It's on provision.) put simply, I'm a gay man, but I also identify as demirose (demisexual and demiromantic)

this blog is my beetlejuice brainrot as it's been my special interest for a while, so you'll mostly see my beeJ art here.

I'm also making a new blog @neve-offline for other miscellaneous stuff. if anything, I think you'll get to know me far better on there. it may turn into a spam account, who knows! I'd love to interact with moots more.

hell yeah I am

really happy to be one too. I've wanted to be one for a long time and now I finally am!

for reference my current qualifications in theatre are... in progress! I'm currently taking what pretty much is a 2 year course in intermediate theatre and performance, and an additional 80-100 hours of voluntary work working on the production of a musical, all at my college :3 (I'm currently being assigned a role, and I'm either gonna be one of the musical actors (that including singing) or a script writer, since I do both.) I'm a male tenor <3

and also hell yeah!! go for it! my ensemble has been super kind thus far, they're all girls and one guy attends like ... every other session. meaning I'm pretty much the only guy there. it's actually pretty fun, I've never felt that I contribute meaningfully to anything but as the only male in the group I feel like my presence finally makes a unique addition.

info dump time!

as a genuine theatre student, an ensemble can honestly be however big it needs to be depending on the production. so, it can even be like 50-100 people!

this is because an ensemble isn't only made of actors, but also all the other crew, such as set designers and makeup artists. so yeah, they can be however big they need to be.

personally, my own ensemble at school is only a measly 12 <3 but it makes life easier because I'm close to all of them.

also we're all doing acting/dance type stuff, none of the ensemble has the other roles because, well, we're not doing any production. we're doing improv at the moment. so actors and dancers are enough. makeup artist doesn't need to do improv LOL

a bit of a vent

hi tumblr!! started college and half my days start at 5am and end at 5pm. it’s extremely tiring and although i love the subjects i’ve chosen it really is a lot and i’m trying to get adjusted. but darn do i barely have any time to draw for my special interest (beetlejuice among other things), which happen to coincide with this blog. not a big deal, and i have far worse stuff going on, but it is really frustrating.

does this count as vent art? anyway enjoy.

me too, for all the reasons listed. I can't help. I'm literally on the verge of a mental health crisis every day, and on the verge of getting kicked out if anyone finds out I'm in the alphabet community. I'm a vulnerable teenager. it's not fair to send these kinds of asks to vulnerable teenagers.

Here's why:

I have NO money to give you

I'm not a popular enough blog that I will give you any reach

I am a minor, and most of my followers are too

It makes me feel extremely guilty

Seeing pictures of injuries or hospitals etc are triggering for me (which are in most intro posts for this sort of thing)

They are always worded in a way that makes me feel like I am a murderer if I don't donate

It makes me feel uncomfortable

I said I don't want them, and my boundaries should be respected

Do you indulge in the art of reading fanfiction obsessively

simple answer:

YES.

I mostly tend to read beeJ, school of rock, and hazbin fics (oh no I mentioned it)

feeling upset? open ao3

feeling nothing? open ao3

call with friend no longer interesting? open ao3

also helps with keeping me alive a little... not to be dark or anything. but it does help to know that my favourite hazbin ao3 writer is gonna post this saturday, it gives me something to look forward to :D

but actually, no, they're all difficult. barb's was definitely the easiest and most satisfying ... but what the hell is with Adam's checkered button-up?? 😭😭 it has like 7 different colours

on that note, I'll probably be finishing boba day pt 2 when I'm back from college today. the insane outfits caused a massive delay LMAO
