as someone who is both acespec and arospec (demirose/demisexual+demiromantic), i’m really happy that there’s a week for us. anyway, time for some awareness:

basic definitions

asexual: refers to an individual who experiences little to no sexual attraction.

aromantic: refers to an individual who experiences little to no romantic attraction.

aroace: asexual + aromantic

demisexual: refers to an individual who only experiences sexual attraction once there’s an emotional bond formed.

demiromantic: refers to an individual who only experiences romantic attraction once there’s an emotional bond formed.

demirose: demisexual + demiromantic

graysexual: refers to an individual who only experiences sexual attraction sometimes, sometimes not at all, or under specific circumstances.

grayromantic: refers to an individual who only experiences sexual attraction sometimes, sometimes not at all, or under specific circumstances.

+ many more. I recommend doing research!

important things to note are:

aroacespec people are not in a phase. we’re valid. we’re real. some of us get into relationships or do the thing, some of us may not. some of us fluctuate. some of us are repulsed by all things of that nature.

and most importantly… we all still experience love! we are not emotionless beings <3 (platonic/familial/friendship type love, that is!!)

INTRO POST... (and I'm going on a break!)

hi! so I do realise I never properly introduced myself. I'm Neve, I'm a guy, he/him. mainly an artist, but I also write, and I'm part of a theatre ensemble as part of my college, therefore I am formally studying theatre and performance. I'm also formally studying English at an advanced level and psychology.

I have diagnosed ADHD, and I may have autism (ask my psychiatrist, he's apparently not sure yet. It's on provision.) put simply, I'm a gay man, but I also identify as demirose (demisexual and demiromantic)

this blog is my beetlejuice brainrot as it's been my special interest for a while, so you'll mostly see my beeJ art here.

I'm also making a new blog @neve-offline for other miscellaneous stuff. if anything, I think you'll get to know me far better on there. it may turn into a spam account, who knows! I'd love to interact with moots more.

No joke i srsly look up theatre stuff like for resumees and yk in my free time

hell yeah I am

really happy to be one too. I've wanted to be one for a long time and now I finally am!

for reference my current qualifications in theatre are... in progress! I'm currently taking what pretty much is a 2 year course in intermediate theatre and performance, and an additional 80-100 hours of voluntary work working on the production of a musical, all at my college :3 (I'm currently being assigned a role, and I'm either gonna be one of the musical actors (that including singing) or a script writer, since I do both.) I'm a male tenor <3

and also hell yeah!! go for it! my ensemble has been super kind thus far, they're all girls and one guy attends like ... every other session. meaning I'm pretty much the only guy there. it's actually pretty fun, I've never felt that I contribute meaningfully to anything but as the only male in the group I feel like my presence finally makes a unique addition.
