you know i think the thing about calypso in love in paradise is that she genuinely does not understand odysseus. like at all. she doesn't care for how much odysseus loves penelope, she doesn't comprehend how terrified and depressed and agonized odysseus feels, she didn't know what "open arms" meant to him. and as much as it being odysseus being out of his mind with ptsd and guilt and soul-crushing despair for the seven years he's trapped on that island a MASSIVE part of it is that i don't think calypso wanted to understand odysseus. if she tried to, even remotely, she would have realized letting him go was the right thing to do for him, nigh immediately. but no. she just wanted to keep him there with her in paradise.

Pro-Palestine music as protest has been a thing for ages but nothing prepared me for "Hind's Hall" by Macklemore, which has both some great lyrics, some great commentary on protests at Columbia, and for which ALL PROCEEDS GO TO UNRWA.

You don't gotta like his music, but damn. Gotta admit Macklemore has been putting his money where his mouth is for months on this issue.

I will disclaim that I disagree with the "not voting for Biden" thing, due to the fact that I personally believe that the American political system forces a Lesser Evil approach. I understand the intent, but I do disagree on a personal and political level.
