The Muscadet Sèvre et Maine area extends across some twenty communes to the south east of Nantes. It takes its  name  from the two rivers flowing through the vineyards: the Sèvre Nantaise and the Maine. Soils: A varied structure of igneous and metamorphic rock from the Massif Armoricain, made up mainly of gneiss and mica schist, with smaller quantities of green-stone and granite. Grape variety: Melon de Bourgogne. A #dica de hoje é um vinho branco francês que é a cara do nosso verão: o “Muscadet Grande Réserve Sur Lie 2017” do Château des Gillières. • 📍um vinho produzido no Vale do Loire, mais precisamente na AOC “Muscadet Sèvre et Maine” (no Baixo Loire), de vinhedos com mais de 25 anos de idade e baixo rendimento. • 🍇 As uvas são 100% Melon de Bourgogne — nome “oficial” da Muscadet, que é originária da Borgonha — colhidas à mão. • 🛢 A vinificação se dá em tanques de inox, onde também matura sobre as borras finas (“sur lie”) por 6 meses. Não há passagem por barricas. • 🍷 Na taça tem coloração amarelo-palha claro. Aromas de pêra, pêssego fresco e casca de limão. Em boca tem corpo leve, acidez média-alta, muito frescor e sabores cítricos e minerais (leve salinidade), com moderada persistência. • Um gostoso vinho, simples e sem complexidade (tipicidade desse clássico tipo de vinho), que cumpre bem a proposta de um vinho para o verão/piscina. Mas, apesar do frescor ainda bom, acredito que já esteja passando do auge. Prefiro os Muscadet mais jovens...
