"Passion hidden within his cool gaze" Tetsuji Tamayama (GaoSilver)

"Whether it's TV dramas, movies, or photo books, Tetsuji Tamayama has become very popular. He is currently starring in "Bara no Jujika," playing the role of Kyosuke, a CM director who becomes popular after switching positions with his nephew, Togo. It's a difficult role for him, as he becomes troubled by his secret love for Sumiko, who is Togo's wife."

Tamayama: I'd like to express the depravity of humans when their position and situations change dramatically. I hope I can play out the relationship between Kyosuke and Togo in a way that men can sympathize with.

"In the film "Koi ni Utaeba," he plays the role of Satoru, the ex-boyfriend of Yumi, played by popular actress Yuka."

Tamayama: Everyone, including Takenaka Naoto-san, play such bizarre characters (laughs). I think I might be the only one playing a serious role. However, I wouldn't mind if I could act strangely too.

"Despite your smart appearance, your true colors are often showing."

Tamayama: I don't know if I'm impatient, or just not good at things. Like for example, traveling a long distance just to eat a meal. I'd rather go to a normal restaurant where everything is ready in 15 minutes, than to an Izakaya where the food comes out slowly. I don't want to spend time in places that I think are a wastes of time.

"He's also passionate about acting"

Tamayama: I want to be recognized as an actor. I'd like to challenge myself with a period drama if the opportunity ever arises. Like in Gaoranger, I'd like to experience that kind of world without any prior experience, like the Edo period or the Warring States period.

Kaneko: I try to add alot of variety to my performance, as to make sure I don't get bored.

"Noboru Kaneko-san said, describing the joys of acting in a lively manner. Since staring in Gaoranger, he has appeared in multiple dramas and variety shows. He's currently playing a detective in "You're Under Arrest."

Kaneko: I'm alittle worried if I have "the right look." At first, I wanted to portray my character as more of an obnoxious detective, but he's already become such a nice guy (laughs).

"With 7 years of experience as a tennis instructor, he's both athletic and versatile."

Kaneko: People always tell me that I "look like I work out," but I only do push ups at home, and only when I remember to. I'm not a member of any gym, but I sometimes go to my local ward's gym for 400 yen at a time (laughs).

"Fitness seems to be second nature to you."

Kaneko: When I play sports, the first thing I do is image training. I'll picture jumping over the vaulting box or hitting a ball successfully. Image training has also helped me with my acting.

"One of his strengths, is that he can apply his sense of sports into what he plays."

Kaneko: I want to be an actor with a unique style. I don't care if I don't play the leading role, I just want to be the one who will be the most "memorable" after the show ends.

"Taiyo Sugiura says his role as Musashi in Ultraman Cosmos was his starting point. Recently, he's been appearing on variety shows, including "Midnight Sentai Garinpero" where he serves as one of its MC's. He is active in a variety of works, and is scheduled to make his CD debut next month with his younger brother as a sibling unit."

Sugiura: At first, I didn't think variety was for me, but once you try it, it's alot of fun. I was so happy when I got together with Downtown for the first time on their show "Downtown DX" (laugh). Garinpero is a live show, so I think how it works is that the first person to speak up wins. When speaking live, I use Kansai dialect, because it's easier for me to speak normally than standard Japanese. After this program, I'd like to one day star in a drama with my co-hosts Toshiki Kashu-kun (Agito) and Shioya Shun-kun (HurricaneRed). And then there's the "Winter Special Event: Hot Springs Tour with Everyone" program. Maybe…it'd be alright to just enjoy by myself!?

"Next year, he'll try his hand with theater for the first time."

Sugiura: I came into this world aspiring to become an actor, so I think doing various works will lead me to becoming a successful one. In the future, I'd like to act in movies and play a variety of roles, including cool ones.

"Toshiki Kashu-san is set to be an MC for the variety program "Midnight Sentai Garinpero." We can expect to see a different side of him compared to the heroic role he played in "Kamen Rider Agito," which was his breakthrough role."

Kashu: I can learn a lot of things that I have never experienced before, such as presenting in a studio and reporting on location. I used to stay away from anything that I didn't have any interest in. But things have started to change since I became an actor. It's a way of expanding my own world, so I'm looking forward to this program.

"As an actor, he says he is, "not the most distinctive."

Kashu: On the contrary, I've come to think it's probably better that way. I don't want to simply be, "Toshiki Kashyu playing any role," I want to be an actor who can be absorbed into the role. So for now, as I gain experience through various works, and depend on my own talents, one day I'd like to develop my own style. I want to become an actor who can wear any color, carrying around paints of various colors, while always remaining pure white.

Suga: After being accepted for the role, I told my father, whose response was, "I won't be able to see your face when you become Ryuki!," it was an incredible misunderstanding (laughs).

"Takamasa Suga-kun said. Currently starring in Kamen Rider Ryuki, he looks back on the days when he passed the audition with a nostalgic feeling."

Suga: From the start of filming up until now, things have gone by quick. In the beginning, I would go to the production site, then go home, sleep, and repeat that process every day. I wouldn't even pay attention to what was going on in the world, so I sometimes felt like a recluse. Some have said that the production site of Ryuki is like an all boys school. So from now on, I'm saying, "Let's do training camps and drink for days!" (laughs).

"If we were to compare his co-star, Satoshi Matsuda-kun, to an animal, he says, "A fox! That guy, he's very sharp and smart in almost every way." Suga-kun is also a good looking young man who speaks politely, but what type of woman does he like?

Suga: I'm…actually a really sloppy guy. I get my meals from convenience stores, and my room is always a mess. That's why I'd like to find a firm but caring woman.

"He's also a Kabuki enthusiast."

Suga: I've always loved it, and recently, I've been taking out books to study it more. It's precisely because Kabuki is so difficult that I'm fascinated by it. I hope I can reflect the feeling of Kabuki into my acting.

Matsuda: I'm actually 100 times more cheerful than Ren. When I'm on set, I act like an idiot and am always saying nonsense.

"Satoshi Matsuda-kun said while laughing, he plays the cool Akiyama Ren in Kamen Rider Ryuki. Both his co-stars and he himself admits that he's a lively mood maker. Comparing himself to his co-star Takamasa Suga-kun, he said, "I think we're like cat and dog." He explains, "Sugacchi, who is a very sweet person that is often spoiled, is a dog. I'm a cat because I tend to do things at my own pace."

Matsuda: I like black bass fishing, and on good days, I'll swing about 1,000 casts. During the middle of Winter, I once fished with snow building up on my head. While I'm fishing, I usually call a friend when I have a random though. "What are you up to? Ah, sorry, you see I'm catching fish right now and…" and that's when they'll hang up (laughs).

"At what moment did you feel glad that you became an actor?"

Matsuda: During the filming of the scene where I die in the TV Special, me, Sugacchi, and the rest of the staff were so overwhelmed, that we all started crying. In that moment, I experienced a feeling of unity and joy that I don't think I could experience anywhere else. In the future, I hope to develop a masculine style and atmosphere like that of Takakura Ken-san (famous Showa era actor).

With a gentle smile, the charming Masashi Goda-san is currently starring in the drama "Bara no Jujika," passionately playing the role of Junya, a young man who is in love with Aki, a single mother.

Goda: Junya is ready to say to Aki, "I'll take care of you, along with your child," but he really struggles to say it, doesn't he? Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong if the person you love already has children.

"Goda-sans true colors, which seem to overlap with Junya's, is an image that would warmly embrace any woman. When on the set, he's always there to play with the child actors."

Goda: However, if I spoil them too much, they'll say the names of card games and other things I don't know of (laughs). In the past, when I was on location for Ohranger, there was usually a large gathering of children, and as a hero, I couldn't be seen as a bad guy (laughs). I love children, so I'm comfortable playing this role.

"Behind his soft gaze, he reveals his passion for acting."

Goda: Actually, it's not so much "I'd like to play this kind of role," it's more about how much I can expand the role I'm asked to play. That's what I'm more interested in.

* Alternate costumes. This is probably the most likely cause KoeiTec likes them some extra skins. We’ll probably get DLC costumes (loath ENTIRELY) but hopefully we’ll also have a couple for each character that you can just unlock in-game. Specifically I want Musashi to have a costume based on SW Musashi. “But Rex!” You might cry, “SW Musashi’s outfit includes an open jacket with no shirt!” Exactly why it’ll almost certainly happen. Musashi with Sarashi, you agree.

* Secret Super Tough Boss. Also likely but not guaranteed. My tops picks are, because I am very basic: Shuten (if she isn’t just a regular boss PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE), Nobunaga (any version would be a riot but if they get a multi phase MAO NOBU where every time you deplete a health bar they change into the next form while gaining that health back culminating in Fire And Skulls Everywhere Nobu...I would be happy), Ibuki, Saber Sasaki Kojiro (Director is a big time Shimousa fanboy so if we don’t get to re-enact that final battle then this would have been a waste of everyone’s time), aaand a very mysterious orange haired samurai of incredible skill said to rival even oni hunters with a very familiar voice and a very noticeable Tiger theme.....i can have hope, can’t I?

Currently listening to: YOASOBI's The Blessing and Assassination Classroom's Bye Bye Yesterday. Since I've been trying to write for Da Vinci Rider/Lily and those were the songs I chose for her chapter in Passing Days.

Last movie: ...The second compilation movie of the original Mobile Suit Gundam, or Gundam 0079 on Netflix. Because it's easier to watch them over the TV series in terms of time investment. And with both my rl Robin and Achi loving the lore of the original Universal Century of Gundam, I wanted to get into it. Somehow.

Currently reading: Le Morte d'Arthur by Sir Thomas Malory and The Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi in terms of things that aren't manga/light novels. Because Fate had me get curious about the history too.

Currently watching: Um... (stares at my open browser tabs) Why do I have Fate/Extra Last Encore up again when I hate Deadface Hakuno... oh. It's the only speaking, animated role of Robin. Of course. And I needed comfy white noise for FGO grinding and rest.

Currently consuming: My last meal earlier today was vegetarian ham prepared with Singapore-style noodles, courtesy of mom. Every time I eat her cooking, I feel very blessed knowing she's willing to cook and pack my work lunches to this day.

Currently craving: ...The energy to draw seriously again. Because the last sketch I tried is half-finished and it looks like crap to me. Not to mention how I wanna write Oberon since I finished LB6, but the words for Da Vinci's chapter aren't coming by. Not to mention Naruto for CP/Civilian Pianist and S&S/The Sea and Stars. AND reviewing for Lang! And CLS applications. I need to start those. Like seriously.

Laithly's Book Club...

Blade of the Immortal is currently on hold while the next volume arrives in the mail. (Yes, there are on-line versions but I dunno, I tend to rush when it isn't a paper book and this is something to savour.)

Also been pecking at Musashi as an audio book. I've read it before and it's good, but also it started life as one of those big-ass newspaper serials and the recording is 50 hours long -- so I'm taking breaks between volumes. Currently, that no-good Matahachi has fallen into impersonating Kojiro, who famously dueled Miyamoto Musashi in real life, so that must have been hilarious to the readers when that chapter first dropped. I'm really enjoying the picaresque flavour. Most characters aren't all good or all bad*, there are quite a few screw-ups dragging misfortune onto themselves, but they sure are colourful. And they're alive and they care about things so so much. (Except Otsu*, who might be Kwanyin descended to walk the earth in human form. You're doing great, sweetie!)

Another revisit through audio was The Broken Sword (Poul Andersen) which I first picked up when I was around eight or so and reread several times with great enjoyment.

... Huh. So I can absolutely see why I liked it as a tiny -- it's colourful and paced well, a good chunk of story in a fairly low wordcount, manages a Massive Mythological Mash-Up without getting twee, and all the Norse-style poetry kenning is just lovely. And, while the story is clear when bad shit is happening, it doesn't dwell overmuch on the grisly details. (Except Ilfric hanging by his thumbs, and face it, never has an elf-lad deserved that more.)

But also, re-reading as an adult: Whoah, there is some fucked-up stuff going on in there. It opens with a viking burning down a homestead with almost everyone in it, who goes on to almost-steal a wife and they live very happily together for the next twenty-odd years. I get a third of a way through vaguely remembering that the protagonist Scafloc has a romance with some girl he rescues but right now the only girls in need of rescue are his longlost sisters and... Oh. Right. It's all very... yes there are some good people, and there are some kinda dubious people but they're living well by their own lights, and also absolutely everything, in the manner of a Norse saga, is going to end in tragedy.

Final thoughts: Yes, I would recommend it, but also it's not a happy story where good people are rewarded with happiness. Fairly non-graphic but frequent violence and sexual assault, two incestuous relationships if that's going to bother you.

Final, final thoughts: Also, it has some pretty cool girls in it. Frida (sp?) is neat, and Leah, you absolute skank, I want you to live and prosper and make it to the Jazz Age, you're doing so great, sweetie.

Also just picked up a copy of The Iron Princess by Barbara Hambly, a writer I'm pretty fond of. Strong opening with the hawks, but then I got hit with a frankly excessive bit of exposition, which I hope isn't going to be the norm in this. So far, a teen princess with a good set of lockpicks has rescued a rogue wizard from his imprisonment in the manner of Prometheus, because she needs some magical clout. Something something cities mining more cities... argh. Hopefully next chapter will be better.

Writing for Nanbaka again, yay! Keeping with the grand plan, I used this prompt here for some headcanons. This time, I used a spin a wheel pick-a-name thing to decide the character and hope you guys will enjoy these headcanons for Musashi!

Fancy or casual?

His clothing has become a lot more casual as he aged because as a child and a teen, Musashi preferred a more formal style of clothing and took pride in looking his best. It wasn’t until being sent to prison that his clothing and overall style became more casual and relaxed.

Closet or dresser?

Musashi would prefer a closet, where there’s a combination of room to hang things so that they don’t get wrinkled or to put things that can be folded on shelves. His closet would tend to be very organized and possibly organized by the weight of the fabric so that he could easily tell what to grab for the weather.

Hot or cold?

Because of his excessive heat, cold foods heat up or melt easily if he handles them too much and because of that, he tends to prefer warm or hot meals. In terms of weather, he prefers colder weather because his body temperature is already so warm that hot weather causes him to feel a bit sick.

Meat or veggies?

A mixture of both is ideal, in Musashi’s opinion, but if he had to pick, he’d rather go vegetarian and give up meat entirely than give up vegetables.

One pillow or multiple?

Multiple pillows is a goddamn luxury, in Musashi’s opinion, or so he’s discovered after life as a prisoner. He’ll happily take multiple pillows over one any day, as he really likes good neck and head support to keep his shoulders and back from becoming stiff and sore when he wakes up.

Organized or messy?

Very organized. Not quite obsessively so but he’s always been a pretty neat individual and being blinded has made a good amount of organization a necessity for him to live as normal a day-to-day life as he can.

Games or books?

Musashi is actually a fairly big reader. He loves books and has since he was a child, devouring them fairly quickly. He’s not too finicky about the genres he reads either. He’ll switch genres fairly regularly, just to keep from getting too bored with any one thing.

Hide and watch or stand up and fight?

While his younger self wasn’t much of a fighter, the death of his parents and the ensuing torture at the hands of the Man with the Scar left Musashi a very different person, someone who was a lot more angry and violent. He still retains a lot of that stand and fight mentality but is working on resisting it more and not giving into that temptation following his fight with Jyugo.

Shy or social?

He was a fairly social child who became a shy teenager and adult. He struggles quite a bit with social anxiety, to be honest, but he genuinely wants to overcome that and make friends.

Soda or juice?

Musashi actually doesn’t much care for soda. The fizz just doesn’t feel great on his tongue and it’s very sweet to him so he prefers juice, but only actual fruit juice and not the overly sugared fruit juice drinks like Hawaiian Punch or Kool-Aid.

Handheld or console?

Neither. Because of his lack of sight, video games are kind of hard for him to master, though he’s willing to try them. They’re not things he seeks out on his own though, that’s for sure.

Light or dark?

Musashi prefers the light. Even without being able to see it, it’s a different feeling on his skin than that dark and he’s happier when it’s light outside.

Scary or happy?

Happy, please. This man has had more than enough of scary, sad, or horrific things in his life.

Movies or restaurants?

Both! He does like classic films, getting into them early on as a child but he also enjoys a good meal out, either alone or with company.

Car or bus?

Buses and other public transport actually make Musashi really nervous and unsettled feeling. He prefers a car or to walk, if at all possible.

Carpet or tile?

Tile feels better to him. It’s always slightly cool on his feet and smooth in texture. He doesn’t really care what it looks like, but feeling wise, it’s always superior to him.

Love or wealth?

Musashi grew up fairly wealthy. His parents weren’t hard up for money by any means and he knows both what it’s like to live in a fair amount of luxury and what it’s like to do without and he’s been able to live both ways without too much difference to him. Living without any love or affection though is really hard for him and he’d take reliable love from someone over money any day.

Markers or coloured pencils?

Coloured pencils are his preference. They feel better in his hand and, back when he could see, he enjoyed the wider variety of colours they came in compared to most marker packs.

Independent or dependent?

After the death of his parents, Musashi became so used to being alone and having to survive on his own that independence was something he learned quick and he’s still quite independent but naturally, he is a more dependent person who functions best with other people in his life and day to day routines.

Hat or necklace?

Musashi actually has a nonstandard sized head and has quite a bit of trouble finding hats that properly fit him, so he’d take a necklace over a hat for that reason alone.

Poster or calendar?

Most posters are meaningless to him after losing his sight, but he does have a Braille calendar that he uses. He likes knowing what day it is because it’s easy to lose track of that in prison.

Pain or death?

Death. He’s been through pain, over and over again. So many times, and it’s still so much a possibility of that happening again because of his unique abilities. Because of that and because of his past, there is a small part of Musashi that seeks and wants the release of death and the opportunity to be back with his parents again.

Science or math?

While he studied and worked hard and he is quite good at math, Musashi prefers science, finding it the more fascinating of the two topics.

Shower or bath?

He overheats in the bath if in there for too long but there’s nothing quite like an ice-cold shower to get Musashi’s blood flowing and his mood lifted.

Socks or slippers?

Does he have to choose? Honest to God, if Musashi could, he’d walk around all day, every day in just his bare feet as he doesn’t really much like socks or slippers. His feet sweat badly in them and then it stinks and it’s just not good for anybody.

Chips or crisps?

He calls them chips, being German.

Secretive or open?

For a long time, Musashi was very secretive, really keeping his feelings and thoughts and experiences locked up tight in his mind. He’s really working hard on becoming more open and honest with others and with himself.

Friendship or romance?

Honestly, at this point in his life, while he wouldn’t turn down romance, he’d much prefer friendship. And even with romance, Musashi would prefer a romance that evolved from an existing friendship rather than just jumping into dating someone.

Talent or skill?

Talent, to Musashi, is something you’re born with and don’t have to work hard for while skills are developed and things that you have to put effort into, so he finds skills more impressive.

he likes the bunny or kitty or any animal accessories you own but he absolutely loves the bows. he says it's such a pretty touch on the whole look. tora is very attentive to you and your fashion choices. he enjoys witnessing you in the new, innovative outfits you come up with everyday whenever he gets to see you. he loves spending time with you.

you weren't playing right now. you were dead serious. it was hard to bring this part of you to the front. but push the right buttons and the unfortunate one has won a straight pass to a hospital's emergency room.

turning to block another kick sent towards you, you turned around, held his wrist in a tight grip and twisted it so hard, you could hear with the nauseating sound of bones cracking. you almost gagged but your eyes landed on tora's slack jaw, a rare sight of mikey actually astonished, a motionless draken and a terrified takemichi who looks like his soul left his body.

after taking a good look at unconscious or at least half-conscious men around you, mitsuya is the first to speak up and all he can muster up is his typical, "are you okay?"

a cute grin appears on your face and you give him an appreciative nod. "i am fine takashi, but… may i ask what are all of you doing here?"

"what?" mikey speaks up. "what are all of us doing here? we are here to bring you back safe, of course. well that's what we planned before…."

"before we saw you kick ass and-" tora cut off chifuyu.

"and still look cute as fuck. oh my God (name), you are gonna give me a heart attack." kazutora releases a shaky breath. his eyes are wider than usual and he seems breathless.

"how do you do that, princess? how do you look like you are seconds away from committing murder and still look like such a doll while doing that?" he asks. walking up to you he cups your face and looks into your eyes.

he is absolutely in awe and he thinks he might have fallen in love all over again. his heart is running marathons inside his chest. tora looks down at your lips and gasps.

"your lips are stained red with blood, gorgeous. it makes them so much more kissable. God," he exhales. "i can't resist myself any longer. (name), can i please kiss you?"

your eyes sparkle and a giggle escapes your glossy lips. nodding excitedly you wipe your hands down on your top and cup his face as he crashes his pink lips into your bloody red ones.

Now I know why nobody wanted to sub this particular episode... I imagine it was very hard to localize this one to other languages hahaha. Took me a loooong time to prepare this because real life is kicking my butt lol sorry about that, I hope you enjoy this anyway!

This episode needs tons of translation notes due to the dozen of Japanese culture references. Long long post below the cut, together with the download link, translation notes and comments about this particular episode:

- Sorry, I had to omit one detail in the subs: the shop announcer specifically says "優勝商品は、キュウクツの豪華三段飾り特製ポケモンひな人形です。" about the challenge prize - "The winner's prize is Kyūkutsu's gorgeous three-tiered display with specially made Hina-Pokemon dolls"... Kyūkutsu it is supposed to be the doll maker's company name and a reference to the irl Kyūgetsu - a very famous hina doll maker. I included it briefly in a later scene but without the details to avoid cluttering the screen.

- About Meowth's "salaryman sadness" comment ("サラリーマンの哀愁だニャ"), it's supposed to be a jab at how Jessie's super "consideration" for her boss is... a souvenir given out of duty/obligation that she got for a very cheap price, some random fancy-looking goods from a department store that was obviosuly just an excuse to her personal massive shopping spree. It's a quite... 'Japanese society joke' that I'm not sure if has the same effect when translated? 

- The competition announcer is parodying a kotowaza (a kind of Japanese proverb) when he morphs into different types of pokemon. "(...)Tateba Rūjura | Suwareba Purin | Aruku sugata wa Nazonokusa" (立てばルージュラ座ればプリン歩く姿はナゾノクサ) sounds like "Tateba Shakuyaku | Suwareba Botan | Aruku sugata wa Yuri no hana" (立てば芍薬座れば牡丹歩く姿は百合の花) - aka "the ideal behavior of a beautiful lady".

- It's not really explicitly explained, but you get Hina dolls and display them on Hinamatsuri to wish your daughters happiness and growth/health. It's not bad to inherit them from your family, but it's easy to understand Misty's frustration when all of her older sisters got luxurious sets of their own and only later on she was gifted... those exact same Ohina-sama sets.

- Misty's violent outburst around the 10min mark is an answer to Ash's comment when he muttered "ハナダ美人３姉妹とその出がらしだったっけー". In this sentence, he was recalling how Misty sisters were the three beautiful sisters of Cerulean, while Misty herself.... the 'dagarashi' - aka used tea leaves. That's so mean after that dramatic flashback, he just called her insipid/second-handed/leftovers lol!

- Had to include Japanese honorifics again this time because it's one of this episode's gags: the announcer calls the contestants "-chan", except one participant, Musashi"-san"... where the first is an endearing/cute diminutive honorific, the latter is the general most commonplace polite honorific, of course that blatant differentiation makes her furious lol.

- About Psyduck... "Yes, his head seems to hurt" - Fiorello said はい、彼は頭が痛そうです。, so instead of "their head seems to hurt" I kept the pronoun the character used.

- Talking about Fiorello, you don't necessarily translate "yes" when someone says "hai" but I kind of wanted to highlight how weird he sounds just answering it to pretty much everything the announcer says lol. 

Other random notes:

- Characters in OS used to be so intense sometimes, Misty was on fire this episode, hahaha! If Ash was a turbo brat in the previous episode I subbed, she's the one unstoppable this time lol. James and Meowth are also not very subtle offering help to Jessie by erasing Misty off the world hahaha

- Jessie and Misty were fighting for a size number 9 blue dress, in Japan that should be for 163cm~170cm people and usually tagged as M size for female-style clothing (around B83-85W63-64H89-91cm) as far as I know. 

- Fiorello/Takuya is surprisingly... weird. Considering the context and the decade when the episode aired in Japan, his name is probably a reference to ex-SMAP Kimura Takuya.

- Ugh, Satoshi's DO WANT when he see the Hina set with the Pikachu Odairi-sama, sooo cute ><. Kojiro and Nyarth are so, ah the feels, that episode conclusion is so precious, I love it so much.

- The ED song, Pocket ni Fantasy, always slays my feelings. It only gets worse as I get older. 

- Ugh, I know, it's inconsistent, I have just noticed I am translating "ゲット" (getto) as both 'catch' and 'get' @_@; Please let me know if there's any huge errors that I need to fix (typos, not synched dialogue and so on), I'll see what I can do, hehe.

If wielded by someone who is truly good, then the sword also acts as though possessed, guiding it’s user to wield it expertly and giving even normal people the ability to defeat the evil they would swing it against. 

Infinity: The opposite of Zero attained by swordsmen, the thought process of it goes, “If I am victorious once, I will never be defeated”. In practice it is akin to the second magic focused entirely on the sword. It causes the blade to appear as though it were a whisp or a constantly shifting illusion, in reality it is constantly both passing through many casualties and cutting through them to a single point that is the blade. Essentially, this means that to fight against this technique is to fight it across infinite realities. Losing even once causes that reality to impose itself on all others. 

To fight this technique one on one without also using it or Zero will assure your defeat, although, a great number of variables on the fight can help to defeat this technique. 

Also, the user is able to cut space between one area and another creating a passage between the two points.

Description: 

Masamune pinpoints her sword on a future in which the opponent is cut by it, and once it is decided, it is repeated throughout the many parallel dimensions in which it was decided as well. The sword itself gains a great amount of divinity in that moment as it swings toward the opponent. Once cut, thousands upon thousands of cuts are applied all at once, only a god or one with a truly ridiculous level of the Battle Continuation Skill could hope to live through this attack and even then there would be little left. 

Description of Servant: 

Masamune is more of a reclusive sort. She doesn’t quite enjoy large crowds of people nor does she really like showing off, however don’t mistake this for any out right shyness. She cares for others quite a lot, and subscribes mostly to the tougher sort of love at times, she makes what she thinks of others known and can be quite scathing at that. Still, she’s always happy to lend a very patient ear to anyone who might be troubled or simply need someone to talk to. Masamune of course is interested in swords and swordsmen a like, but mainly swords, she can be a bit pompous at times though, if she perceives a sword with faults that her own don’t contain. 

She can’t help but love the heroic, selfless type either. In her own opinion, if you aren’t fighting for good nor for a love of others, then there’s no reason to be fighting in the first place. On that note she can forgive those who fight for themselves and their own beliefs, but sees that as a dangerously teetering scale. 

About that Patient part also, there are only two people who can truly test her patience and that’s Muramasa and Musashi, who she also sees as her children.

Musashi: Chipper as always, Musash-chi? I hope you haven’t been causing trouble for anyone in the kitchen, or troubling that poor hime, or troubling others at random to start fights you know you can win? Ara? Is that sweat on your brow, Musash-chi? Mhm, come here, i’ll dab it right away with Musashi-Muramasa, hows that sound?

Muramasa: Agh, my most foolish student has arrived. Huh, I should repeat that? I said MY MOST FOOLISH, BULLHEADED, OLD MAN OF A STUDENT HAS ARRIVED. Hi, Anon! I had my friends, @itsdanystormborn and ΩKaiser, help me come up with a brief character description of Kuroko for you.

Kuroko is a strategist for Uesugi Bushidan. People usually have the wrong impression of her, possibly because of her style (which I love). For instance, Musashi thinking she was evil, and Naoe rejecting her advances, believing she’s stoic 24/7. Seiroku isn’t too happy that she’s ruined his plans for the second Awaji raid. Despite her outward appearance and how others tend to perceive her, she holds her clan very near and dear to her heart.

I really love the cover of volume 9 that Ohtaka created for Kuroko and Naoe (which you can also see as a double colored page in chapter 88). I hope I was able to give you enough of a description on Kuroko for you. :)

Baseline

Individual Point of Perception is Dependent on Conditioned Mode of Thought.

Our conditioned mode of thought is determined by a number of aspects including:

our formal educational conditioning;

our cultural background;

the perceived power personalities that influence our sociological conditioning;

...to name a few.

I originally began this article with a view to confining it within the first classification of educational conditioning, but by way of natural process all seemed to apply.

Then, as it felt presumptuous and unwieldy to force a subject scope worthy of a treatise into a blog format, I have had to restrict the situation to how science has influenced and placed limits on our thinking.

Very much in shorthand....

All of science is based on direction defined by philosophy and Rene Descartes appears to have been the pivotal point in this instance. He introduced a way of perceiving things that took an observable entity and broke it down, analytically, into its individual unit parts. Dualism and other aspects, illuminating then, seem second nature to us now.

The evolution of this form of thinking was passed on into the capable hands of Francis Bacon who, in turn, hand balled it to Isaac Newton, both of whom provided substantial modifications to advance this concept of fragmentation. What we have inherited is what might be termed the 'Doctrine of Direction' for the entire westernised civilisation.

What these theorists neglected to consider and what Quantum theory is in the process of giving back, to those of us who care to take note, is an appreciation of the 'links' or aspects of interrelationship between these basic building blocks of fragmented, alienated entities. An aspect every bit as important as the 'units' themselves, as it is only by way of these continuously, communicating interfaces that we arrive at wholistic entities that are greater than the sum of their individual parts.

Unfortunately, we still model our mode of individual and collective advancement on the thought structures that built Empires that have long ago ceased to exist. Momentum, obviously, is capable of carrying us too far in the wrong direction.

I don't wish to appear to be a detractor of the theories of these giants of our past, or even of the ones who 'stood on their shoulders', who took those theories and gave them application within the sociological framework. What I am attempting is to show how the limited style of scientific mindset, that is drilled into us by way of our current educational process, has engendered our individual and therefore collective point of perception. This in turn has determined our current life situation. Man is a reflection of his environment, yes, but the opposite is every bit as true.

We have made fantastic advances with our 'scientific' thinking. We can gauge, almost to the centimetre, where we can land a rocket on the moon, over an almost unimaginable distance, with a mind numbing number of variables all taken into account. And after that, bring it back again. We are communicating concepts through mediums such as we are employing at this very moment, as you read this, and there are a myriad of other examples.

But, there is a dark side.

Having adopted, through conditioning, this mode of perception, we have alienated ourselves from our environment, from each other and even created alienation within our very selves. Our 'self' from this viewpoint, by way of illustration, does not include our body. 'I' am a separate entity and my body is a mere physical, mechanical housing, when in fact our bodies are a fully incorporated aspect of our 'selves'.

'Us and Them' is destroying 'Us'.

Take a look at what our alienating point of perception is doing:

(1) to our shared environment. We consider our 'selves' to be a separate entity to our environment, rather than an integral, interacting aspect of it, so any harm we inflict on the environment has no real effect on our situation, we surmise. (The comparative example of this would be that of a race of people, traveling through endless space, systematically destroying the space ship they are traveling in.) There have been highly qualified, dissenting voices to this supposition. Even economists, like E.F. Schumacher, who advise that, "If we ever find ourselves in the position of winning our battle with nature, we will automatically find ourselves on the losing side". Conditioned thought structure, however, pays little heed to logic, unless it is incorporated into an 'approved' educational process and therefore transposed into the paradigm;

(2) to our estranged sense of interrelationships. By over emphasising the self concept, to compensate for a social structure that appears intent on drowning the individual in a sea of homogenised anonymity, we automatically place almost insurmountable barriers to interpersonal integration;

(3) within our fragmented personal selves. In this context, the major effort appears to be the creation and continuous maintenance of a self image rather than the cultivation of the actual personality. A self image that bears little relation to the real person hiding within, who sadly perceives the camouflage to be more socially acceptable than him 'self'. Applied to extreme, the individual places so much personal energy into the maintenance of this persona, that he 'starves' himself. A major cause of mental dis-ease and what can amount to total breakdown of the individual existence.

Relationships can only exist between personalities. Relationships are not possible between facades, which are essentially illusions, so the illusion that they do doesn't exist for any length of time. This somewhat pointless exercise only exists because many believe that it's all they have to offer, as the real entity is seen as being insufficient to the situation.

One of the many sociological phenomena that appears to endorse all this is the fact that, in all westernised countries, divorce statistics come close to equaling marriage statistics and quite commonly surpass them.

It's a little unfair, however, to endow philosophers and scientists with the full responsibility of our present life situation. There are other buttressing influences. Sir Isaac Newton's writings within other fields were for all intents and purposes totally ignored, as they still are. The bias of thought at that time was all for the new clockwork bent that held so much potential for industrial advancement, as it still does. An illustration as to how long the industrial lobby, by way of political sway, has been placing paradigms on the full spectrum potential of our advancement as a species.

So, just while we are in the vicinity:

A corporate entity doesn't have a personality, other than the one on loan and frequently patched from the public relations departments, so don't look for human qualities;

The corporate ideal is to be in the position of dictating to the marketplace (yes, that's you!) and they never sleep in the pursuit of this goal;

Corporate entities see themselves as being subject to only one law and that's the law of economics. When economic precept shows any potential to limit short term profit, they're not above bending that out of shape either.

This latter point requires a little expansion, I feel.

According to the science of economics, there are two varieties of resource: rivalrous and non-rivalrous. A rivalrous resource is one that can be used up faster than it can be replaced, if it can be replaced at all, e.g., fossil fuels and the natural environment. A non-rivalrous resource, on the other hand, is a resource that is inexhaustible, i.e., it can't be exhausted as it is continuously replacing itself at a rate faster than it can be employed.

Now, considering the fact that human beings breed their own replacements, in the sort of volumes commonly described as 'population explosions', which of these two categories do you imagine employees slot into, within the corporate mindset, in these days of outsourcing?

`Safety before Production’, is the corporate catchphrase, but it will never be the reality because it doesn't need to be. An appearance is put up in order to establish a good 'Employer Brand Name', yes, but mostly because other powerful economic entities like insurance companies 'persuade' them to do so. And insurance companies are only prepared to do that because it has direct bearing on their own economic status.

This automatically creates another translation of the 'Us and Them' syndrome, the 'Divide and Rule' format. Musashi's 'The Book of Five Rings' and Sun Tzu's 'The Art of War', amongst other treatise on war strategy, make their way into every board room these days under the arms of those who would subordinate their productive work force to their will. Strategies that work within one set of environmental circumstances don't necessarily translate well into others, however, and 'Divide and Rule' is a classic example. When looking at a combined productive exercise, it simply isn't profitable to view and treat your production sector as though they are the enemy. This will automatically cost you money and the longer you persist with a faulty strategy, the more it will cost you. The variety of tactics employed, to gain the 'ascendency', are far from what is required to assist in establishing a sense of cooperation and self worth within the individuals that make up the bulk of westernised populations. And a sense of self worth is the foundation stone of a happy individual. A happy employee is more productive and produces a better quality product, so the strategy is obviously flawed.

Our mode of technological advancement has cost us dear, obvious in the stultified mental and spiritually bereft realms we have allocated to ourselves, from a set of values that is blinkered to the full spectrum definition of wealth. I have met people who, having worked continuously for, say, $500.00/week for a number of years, don't even consider pressing for more when their mode of employment changes, because they have been conditioned, over time, into believing that $500.00/week is their sum total worth as a human being. The comprehensive definitions of degradation and defeat are achieved when the victim is persuaded.

If western civilisation (sic), would just halt its frenetic, lemming-like race to the cliff edge long enough to look at the life philosophies of the various indigenous cultures on this planet, we would be in a position to provide ourselves with the requisite wholistic life perception required to save ourselves, and those same indigenous communities, from that inevitable extinction that we are imposing on other species at this very moment.

A different way of seeing is there, for our adoption, any time we want it. We find it not just in the wholistic, indigenous community and environmental Gaia mindsets, but in the most obscure of niches as well as the most obvious of places.

By way of an 'obscure' example, I recall reading Aleister Crowley's 'Magick' in the dawning of my adolescent rebellion, somewhere between Enid Blyton and 'The Russians'.

Wholly from memory:

`The practitioner of Black Magic employs his art to raise his level of existence above that of his environment’ - which doesn't sound so bad really, does it? Just looking round, it appears to be what everybody is doing, or attempting to do. Yes/No?

But then he goes on to say:

`Whereas the practitioner of White Magic employs his talent to raise the level of his environment, and in so doing raises his own level of existence’.

A totally different translation of existence, richer by far, achieved by a mere shift in perception.

As a natural extension of our adopting this different definition of existence, the changes within our culture would be dynamic to say the least. Mental health institutions would almost cease to exist, as the dysfunctional personality is no more than a symptom of the dysfunctional group. The dysfunctional group, no more than a symptom of a dysfunctional social order. Primary catalysts of physical ill health, such as stress, would almost cease to exist also, along with associated overloaded hospital systems and massive requirement for, along with associated abuse of, medication.

Street people would not feel a need to retreat to the streets anymore, but would see a form of society that they would want to be a part of. A form of society that they could see themselves as being a part of, alienated no longer.

Dare I mention prisons?

I could continue, but I'm sure you get the gist.

All aspects of our social and personal direction are compromised when we operate from a biased or false premise. Our proud, emphatic (dare I say, arrogant?) denunciations of 'this is wrong', or 'that's not right' appear as shallow as mainstream media. Any observation from a false premise can only produce an inaccurate end assessment. A silk purse don't come from no sows ear, boy!

Therefore it naturally follows that judging others, or even ourselves, by our own standards is automatically a travesty of natural justice and nothing more than a gross, if unintended, hypocrisy. Because we, unquestioningly, inherit standards of judgment also.

It is possible to establish valid existence only by exploring the depths of established standards, understand where they stem from and, by doing so, determine as to whether they still have relevance in regard to personal existence, now, in our current environment. Retain the standards that do have relevance, rid ourselves of false standards that represent the crippling detritus in our lives, and adopt any new standards that are seen to promote required existential standing.

This is normally considered to be the philosophers function, yes, but a little philosophy won't hurt any of us if it results in our finally reaping the substantial rewards of a valid sense of social responsibility. We have that duty to ourselves, each other and toward our shared environment. Wholistically.

The answer to all the worlds' problems lie in the future within our children, but we need people qualified to teach them how to move the world, through a paradigm shift, from here to there. There's only one way to achieve that, so we need to get to work on ourselves, individually, very quickly.

He can't help himself - he's extremely playful and he likes teasing people and his brothers constantly tease him for being short, so he's just happy to not be the shortest anymore. It's all fun and games, of course, and he'd stop if it bothered you. Most of his nicknames for you would probably be derived from small animals (bunny, kitten, etc).

He might not fully understand your anxiety, especially at first, but he'd be perfectly happy to help you however he can (he just might need you to explain it to him). He's confident and pretty talkative, so he'd have no problem dealing with people for you if you weren't up to it. You wanna just spend a quiet day at home? He's down! He's perfectly content to just be near you and listen to his music. He'd absolutely love that you still manage to be optimistic! He's generally very optimistic and happy-go-lucky and overall just a dog in a human body, so expect people to end up referring to you as the sunshine duo. 

He'd be endlessly fascinated by your creativity. Any time you show him anything you made he'd go full fanboy mode, even if it was just a weird nonsense doodle. He's super curious and nosy. Pretty much anytime you work on anything it'd just be a lot of "what's that?"/"how'd you do that?"/"what does this do?". He's just very excited about everything you do.

SM086 - Thoughts

Simply put, I loved this episode. It may be a typical “Rocket Gang comes and steals Satoshi and others Pokémon” plot, but it has great character moments, and I love how we got to learn more about Ride Pokémon, and just how human this episode was. Pokémon need refreshment from time to time, they need more than just Pokémon Center from time to time too! And how each Pokémon is given their own course depending on their condition is great! Without further ado, let’s talk about my favourite moments in our newest episode of Pokémon Sun & Moon, before the highly anticipated Necrozma Arc begins:

I Choose Here! The Pokémon Steam Paradise!

So the Ultra Guardians are heading to Pokémon Paradise Resort on Akala Island to have a relaxing time after being called to so many Ultra Beast missions lately. Lusamine is paying their trip there, which honestly is an extremely nice act from her! What I loved about the opening scene is how Mamane and Mao explain the place to Satoshi, to which Satoshi goes all sparkle eyes. He’s clearly excited to go there, and it shows later on as well! I honestly love it when they show that side of him, because then we’re reminded he’s still a kid inside, even with such amount of battle expertism!

Another moment I absolutely adore is how every trainer seems to feel close to their Ride Pokémon. Somehow I adore Suiren and Hakuryu’s moments throughout the episode, even if one could consider them small.  Gosh I wish I could get myself a Hakuryu figurine to accompany my Suiren nendoroid :D (with Ashimari as well).

Another moment I loved is how Yareyutan is apparently a regular customer at the Spa. This darn Pokémon keeps on coming back to Sun & Moon episodes and I have to say, he’s by far one of my favourite recurring Pokémon on the cast as of this moment.

And of course Suiren has the best lines :))) I think she’s slowly becoming the very top favourite character on my list. I just really adore her ok?

Thou honestly, after learning about Ishizuka’s passing and him apparently being the voice behind Yareyutan, it kinda feels sad to see Yareyutan in this episode now. And I bet any future episode that’s been pre-recorded with his lines are gonna have same effect. I may have been a fan of Pokeani for only about one year and maybe three months, but his voice has stuck to me through a lot of voice roles he’s had (Hohenheim from FMA:B and Jet Black from Cowboy Bebop being most memorable before Pokeani), so it has hit me quite a bit. Bit of a sidenote regarding the episode, but felt like mentioning. He’ll be greatly missed.

This conversation with Mao and Satoshi is absolutely amazing as well. I keep on getting the ‘big sis’ vibes from Mao lol. Also, this is 100% Satoshi. I mean, he knows they came there to take care of their Ride Pokémon, but when he’s excited, he tends to go with the flow. And this is one of those moments. I just loved it a lot.

When the Ride Pokémon are given examinations on their conditions and given recommended courses, Satoshi’s reaction is so cute! He truly thinks all of this is amazing! He’s so excited!

And how Satoshi is so excitedly running to the changing room is just amazing.

I absolutely adored Rocket Gang in this episode. They had such good going throughout the episode, showing their skills and all. It was absolutely hilarious how everything they did in this episode actually turned out to be helping the Ride Pokémon relax. What amazing buffoons they are!

While Satoshi and others are at the Care Area of this Spa, their partner Pokémon have gone to the Play Area to have fun. While others are playing in the pool with slides, Nyaheat, Bakugames and Amajo are taking a tan. So to speak. And I have to say, I keep on loving Amajo more and more in every single episode since her evolution debut, and I find that amazing. She basically did nothing in this episode, but her enjoying the sun and prompting the two fire Pokémon do the same somehow just makes me adore Amajo more. What is it with me...

This scene is absolutely amazing! First Satoshi gets excited about the hot spring and jumps in, then that act prompts Flygon to jump in (Mao calling Satoshi out for making Flygon copy him), and then Gablias does the same! These two have so much personality in them.

And then this scene happens!

They all really love the Spa and really want to jump in like Satoshi did lol. Don’t do this at home, like Lilie says after this!

We’re not even a third of the episode in and I’ve laughed so much. That already tells me this episode has started out strong and is a really enjoyable one. And I was supposed to keep this short. Will I ever manage with that?

Why is Musashi saying such good lines in this episode :D And her outfit, gosh I love it.

Oh really. That’s kinda obvious thou but isn’t that a bit too closed up to be able to enjoy the pool XD

Ajhasgfjhsgfjhgjf this already killed me without subtitles because I knew she said that. But can you believe it, they actually managed to capture all of the Pokémon. They could have got away perfectly. The Pokémon remain captured for the rest of the episode, and we’re still not halfway there. But oh no. They plan on capturing the Ride Pokémon as well, and how they plan on doing it is so weird. They want to help Ride Pokémon relax so they’d be all noodles. That’s... not exactly how relaxation works. :D

And I’d like to unsee this tyvm. Such a majestic creature looking so... non-majestic. It’s got to be cotton wings...

The scene with Lilie and Tyltalis playing with moisterising mud is precious and gosh they’re so lovable.

But I honestly loved Suiren and Hakuryu’s moment somewhat more. And Musashi is great as well.

Ajsgfjshgjsfgj Musashi is so blunt with her actions, but her action here actually wasn’t harmful, but incredibly helpful. Suiren’s reaction is so her, she’s such a kind person that she’d never do something if she saw the other being afraid of it. But Mu, oh no she’ll do it if it’s good for it.

Once Suiren realises Hakuryu is fine with it thou, they start applying the mud on each other as well. I just love their partnership whole lot.

Others have great moments as well, Mamane applying Aroma Oil on Metang while Sonansu and Hidoide are doing the same (it really works like a charm on Pokémon huh?), and Flygon and Gablias being rivals to each other in a swimming race, Nyarth helping Satoshi and Mao to cheer them on. Just amazing!

Also, Kojiro being able to do muscle massage on Pokémon somehow feels very him?? I can totally imagine this being real, because he did do the massaging her so expertly? He is known to taking care of his Pokémon with extra care, I mean, I don’t remember others doing watering on their grass types? So, I believe he wasn’t totally lying, even if a bit exaggerating?

Lizardon certainly enjoyed it.

Pretty sure that just helps them out to be in more fit shape you buffoons. lol Or they’re just too good at their jobs here that they didn’t realise their plan was fooled from the beginning.

Sun & Moon has given them the best glares imo. Thou I think my fav is still from SM074?

Gosh I already knew I’d love this bit from the preview #2 and I’m not disappoint.

Somehow I love how Suiren is the one suggest this. She’s been shown to be the silent, shy person, and now that she’s enjoying herself lots, she’s more than happy to suggest a place they should try next. Sort of like me. Heh. She’s actually come quite far when I think about it. I mean, in the beginning of the series when she was asked to hold a lesson about fishing, she acted so nervous. I don’t think the Suiren from SM006 would be so eager to suggest flower bath here. She’s really grown to appreciate this group of friends, or so I see it!

Asfjhgfsjhgf Musashi I adore you. First she acts so sweet and kind and then her true personality comes aboard! Absolutely stunning!

I don’t know why, but I seriously love how this scene is drawn. Satoshi is so angry. Mao is just not impressed. But like. I adore this art style so much, I know I say this a lot but gosh. I think this is my fav angry-Satoshi face yet.

They’ve been in a cage for half the episode and never tried getting out???? This bothers me so much. Pikachu would never wait. He’s always try to get out. I guess the cage was too crowded.

I’m more focused on Suiren trying to get the net off and making noises lol. Others look mad, while Suiren focuses on the net. I don’t think she likes it one bit. :D

The Sludge Bomb attack not being effective because of the Aroma Oil asjkfgsjhgsjh Hidoide helped Metang out with Sonansu lol.

Says Nyarth while Sonansu is enjoying the same Aroma Oil on itself.

Gosh seeing them call out attacks from their Ride Pokémon really make it seem like the Ride Pokémon are truly theirs and not just Aether Foundations. Here’s hoping they get to have them around somehow after Ultra Guardians retire...

I think the last time we saw a combo attack like this was in XYZ. Looks absolutely stunning.

Okey I don’t know if it’s just me but, it really sounded like Kiteruguma was finishing Rocket Gang’s “Ya na kanjii“ with a Kii in place of jii. I just burted out laughing at it because I don’t know if it’s intented or not. If it’s intented, so god damn clever. I missed hearing Ya na kanjii so much.

The sparkling eyes. I love mama bear.

The silence here that lasts 3 seconds until Satoshi reacts is killing me lol. Kiteruguma really does keep on surprising them.

Welp, they get to go the flower path and it looks amazing. I want to go to one too. Nyaheat playing with the flowers while avoiding water is so cute.

Rocket Gang however are enjoying a different hot spring bath with Kiteruguma, who’s clearly parenting the five-man group. I mean, when Musashi tries to get out, Kiteruguma holds her back and tells her to count to 100 before leaving the bath. Like, what the hell :D

They’re burning. Oh boy.

The end of the episode. I think you guys can see I enjoyed this episode. I wanted to keep this short but alas, it had lots of fun moments I loved whole lot. I just... couldn’t keep my hands of the keyboard.

I’m actually wondering if this place was supposed to be Hana Resort. Since that is on Akala Island as well, and Mamane did explain they have hotel and such as well. Hmmmmmm.

PokéProblem segment shows a continuation to Rocket Gang actually finishing their 100 count, and they’re hot-read. Kiteruguma still enjoys the bath thou.

Next week, Necrozma Arc finally begins, and we are shown the symbol of Ultra Necrozma drawn by Bebenom, alongside showing a first clance at a Rocket Gang Unit (which has Matori wearing a Rocket Gang uniform!) that’s about to arrive to Alola, to do whatever plans they have with Necrozma. All the hints from the start of UB arc are coming together now.

All of the adults are shown to be with little energy, sleepy-headed and bedheaded (Kukui wearing a shirt and having his coat closed up is such a cursed scene, clear sign something is wrong.) We also get Gladio as the new member of Ultra Guardians, and Solgaleo and Lunala arrive with a certain black creature chasing them.

First impression

Honestly, the very first time I read the manga, not including any rereads, I though Hiruma was a little eccentric, seemed like a fun character and all but didn’t really get into his character right away. He was a solid meh for a long stretch, actually.

Impression now

Okay, but after the initial read and with each new read, I found I’d grown really attached to Hiruma. I don’t love and thirst for him like a majority of the fandom but goddamn it, I love him as a character and the manga honestly wouldn’t have been as good without him. He brings a lot of comedy to it with his antics and you can’t help but like him and root for him.

Favorite moment

Okay, this is actually a hard one to answer as Hiruma has some of the most epic moments. One of my favourites though isn’t even badass - it’s just fucking funny. Hiruma in that maid outfit and nobody really seems to notice or call him out on it and it’s like ‘dude has no dignity; he’s just going to do whatever he has to, isn’t he?’ but at the same time, you have to give him respect for that.

Idea for a story

I want baby Hiruma and him having fun with Musashi and Kurita. I want more of baby Hiruma and the army base. I want Hiruma and Agon, bash brothers style - just Hiruma backstory period would be so cool as he’s one of the most secretive characters in the manga!

I don’t want to dick him down...I think that makes me a rarity in this tiny fandom?

Favorite relationship

Okay, but the hidden softness Hiruma has for all of his team is just amazing. I love the Deimon Devil Bats and the way they interact period but special mention to Hiruma’s friendship with Kurita and Musashi! Also, bonus - I fucking love the frenemy relationship with Agon and the weird friendship and mutual understanding of who each other is that he has with Kid.

Favorite headcanon

Someday Hiruma reconciles with his father. I firmly believe this. It happens and it makes me happy to imagine.

Tea Orange: What is something your muse is fascinated with?

Musashi is a huge history buff. He liked that subject the most outside of kendo in school and liked all of the little known history facts of certain places in his home country. If he had chosen to go to college through a kendo program he most likely would have been a Japanese History major.

Malachite: Has your muse done anything that made him feel guilty in the end?

Yes. When Kara got engaged to Aiko to help her navigate out of social turmoil and scandal, he had a huge, one-sided fight where he just screamed at him and called him a lot of nasty things he didn’t mean. He felt bad and apologized, but he sat on that for three months before they made up.

Olive: Is your muse prone to being jealous of others?

Yes and no. More no than yes, but if someone they care about intensely is giving attention to someone else, he gets very, very agitated.

Currant: What is something that absolutely disgusts your muse?

Porn, for sure. He’s only seen a little when he was a teenager but he feels it to be vile and disgusting the way people angle it. As a kid he’s more grossed out by dead animals, but once he gets older he learns there’s grosser things in life.

Raspberry: What food/drink can your muse not get enough of?

His mom’s ochazuke with pickled ginger and tuna sashimi. To him it’s just the best comfort food ever, and even if he loves sushi in general, the ochazuke is a classy dish with a lot of home warmth to it.

Baby Blossoms: Does your muse have a favorite scent?

He likes the smell of a clean house, like disinfectant and wood polish, and of a spring garden with all the seasonal flowers in bloom.

Mallow: What things remind the muse of someone close to them?

He keeps his mementos around the house, usually he thinks back to special moments when he looks at photos of his family, or at some clothes he wore for a certain even that takes him back.

Chartreuse: What color do you associate your muse with?

Deep indigo blue. It’s a color that’s coveted in Japan due to natural indigo being an old, old dye used to make samurai clothes for it’s complex color and being a natural deterrent against germs. The color expresses Japan’s history, which Musashi seeks to understand, and the cool color expresses the peerless will Musashi has to accomplish his goals.

Black: What is on your muse’s bucket list?

Musashi wants to meet sword masters from around the world to better understand their style against his own. He wants to see his children grow up healthy and happy with families of their own. And he wants to find out what happens once the historical drama show he watches comes to its final season.
